Finished Renegade Nell a couple days ago and oh my gosh it’s sooo good! I can’t stop thinking about it!!! What a refreshing and original show! I really hope it gets a season 2, though I wish it had a few more fight scenes in it. Most of them are just in the first and the last episode. Overall though it’s a 10/10 show! Highly recommend especially if you like well written strong female characters, magic, Robin Hood, and Jack Sparrow-esque characters!

My favourite detail in OOTP is when Harry finds Sirius at the dining hall Crookshanks is curled up in his lap. Like he’s surrounded by people screaming at him about “Dumbledore’s instructions”, not allowed to go outside cause the ministry and Death Eaters are gunning for him, he’s being called irresponsible and reckless and he’s brushing it all aside cause boy does he know how to deal with people screaming at him in this house, any regardless: he’s still got Crookshanks. He’s got Buckbeak and they remain Sirius’ first and last line of defence

I was rewatching sunday's episode of The last of us (Episode 8: 'When We Are in Need') and when this scene of Ellie was going on all I could think about was what Anya Taylor Joy said: “I have a thing about feminine rage (...) I get a lot of ‘men doing really terrible things’ and women sitting silently while one tear slowly falls. And I’m like, “Oh no no no no no. We get mad, and angry.” And that's exactly the reaction we got from Ellie here and it deserves to be talked about because this poor young girl had to deal with so many emotions at the same time in such a short period of time.. Ellie was mad, she was angry, she was scared and worried (not only for herself but also Joel, cause as far as she knows he was barely alive and she doesn't know if he was able to defend himself or not), she had to deal with one of her worst fears of being alone, she fought and did what she had to do in order to, once again, survive (broke his fingers, bite him, burn his place, stabbed him and finally killed him) in this incredible hard world, and that's a lot of things, but mostly it was sad and heartbreaking to see it, to see all of the things she had to do in her short life to survive and stay safe and it was admirable to see how she kept it together until she found Joel and was able to breathe because she knows she's safe now and not alone anymore and he's gonna protect her if needed...

Do you have any good Reverse Robin AU fic recs? Every one I've read has Red Hood!Tim who is way better at being Red Hood than Jason and outsmarts everyone, and as well written as some of them are it always rubs me the wrong way.

the worst part of being a j'onn fan is that there seems like there should be a lot about him! he's a beloved long-time member of the justice league, he's in so many fantastic comics and animated shows, there are a lot of fics and art with him, it's not like some of my faves where i know they're d-listers. but then 70% of it is based on the supergirl tv show, and the rest of the time he'll be in the group photo or have two lines or whatever. everyone is so mean to him :(

Yess you get it exactly D': J'onn is an iconic and recognizable character but when it comes to content (from both media and fanon) he has the energy of a d-lister. There's so few solos, and he's usually relegated to supporting character everywhere else.

A lot of writers don't know what to do with him that isn't a retread of Superman (or even Jor-El). While I understand fans saying "he's the heart of the League, his only family is the League" that does end up making him so tied to the League that he doesn't get to have a unique world, story, cast system of his own!

I think the Supergirl tv show did a pretty admirable job with J'onn as a character, giving him arcs outside of mourning for Mars like most of the comics do (don't get me wrong I love the angst but I want more stories!). He has a great arc with his dad there, and even reconciles with Ma'alefa'ak which is

everything to me.
