ardor and annoyance

miguel and reader who's a bundle of energy and joy. having to tame your late night rituals is no easy task, but it's one that he's always willing to take. what's more important than having your dear lover in bed with you?
pure fluff. reader can be seen as either civilian/spider. is it really one of my fics if i don't write about how much miguel hates himself even by just a little bit

What Miguel learned from being a leader, setting an example, being his mother's son, and serving as a hero was patience.
It was a value that he had slipped up on from time to time, more often with himself. If he ever found himself at wit's end with someone else, he would mope until it passed or wait to get some precious alone time and healthily expresses his emotions by making a mess of his quarters and breaking down until he'd get tired and just sleep it off, restarting this precious cycle.
Eventually though, he had begun to no longer exhaust himself by getting angry. Unless the entire multiverse was at stake (ahem), then he'd have to spring into action. But his main priority now is to fix the problem, get it over with, rinse, and repeat.
When you entered his life, he realized that there was more to his ridiculous routines, more than his self-destructive attitudes, and that true patience came with love and caring as well. Obviously, he's light years away from being content with himself, but you redirect him, navigating through when that dastardly cycle repeats, so that you can wash it away and make him anew.
Miguel isn't the only one that has his layers peeled back though, there's so much that he notices about you. That composed and mature persona that you set up for yourself, that has built good albeit only professional connections with the other spiders eases its way into a bubbly and joyful demeanor whenever you're around him.
It almost didn't make sense, Miguel just seemed like the kind of guy to not want to do that with, to not want to relax around. He couldn't even relax on his own, the thought that anyone could feel comfortable in their own skin around him was shoved into the back of his mind. That connection that he so painfully needs is put aside for prioritizing the safety of everyone everywhere else.
Your true nature is infectious, to his dismay. It's too difficult to avoid the care that you're so insistant on giving him, it started with working overtime, to enjoying working overtime, to going over to Miguel's place for work purposes, to going over to Miguel's place for non-work purposes to kissing him for the first time, and now you're dating.
The catch with Miguel having let loose around him was that all that conserved energy circulated around his apartment, whenever he got home from another long day at the Society, he'd climb into you doing five different things all at once. Reading, watching a show, watching a baking show, baking a cake, and texting.
It was hectic, nothing that he couldn't handle, but how you're not on the verge of collapsing probably deep into the trenches of the night concerned him. For slightly more selfish reasons, Miguel doesn't like not having you in bed with him. This wasn't as extreme as the missions he took up at work, but it was a mission nonetheless.
You're... Busy, Miguel doesn't know what with. He sees yarn, he sees cookie dough, he sees a laptop, tablet, phone, and headphones, and so many other trinkets that are buried under the pile that you've built on the kitchen counter. Your focus shifts between each individual station, and Miguel shifts closer and closer to you quietly.
You're occupied on the laptop, occasionally looking at the stove while you're doing so. Then returning to your yarn and now knitting needles? Before mixing the cookie dough even more and even liking the mixture off of the spoon, humming to yourself contently.
You don't even notice that Miguel is right behind you, until he secures you against his front and lifts you up with a squeal.
"Miguel!" You whine, squirming against his solid arms. Your feet swing in the air and you try to push his hands away from your midsection, but there's no use in trying to free yourself when it's with him anyway.
"Go to sleep. No más tonterías, cariño." His voice is fogged by sleep, as his grasp on you tightens. You turn slightly with what little space that you have and you can see his slumber muddled stature. Tousled hair, relaxed expression, eyes half-lidded, and he raises a brow at your staring. "What?"
"Nothing," you sigh, "I'll go to sleep, you just have to let me go."
Miguel shakes his head, rocking your swinging body from side to sidet to go along with it as well. "No, I don't trust you." There's a humorous fry to it, you accentuate the pout on your lips, and he laughs.
It takes a little while for you to convince him to put you down, you can't say this is the most uncomfortable position for you. Whenever you're around Miguel, you always wind up in his arms one way or another, but this time that principle is just being used against you. The conversation shifts, less about your captivity, more about Miguel's day, your day, anything new outside, anything new in Spider Society. The position you're in, the silky nature in his voice, it gets you groggy and Miguel can sense it.
He wins.
He handles you to the bed properly now, laying your once tireless form onto the comforter as he tucks you in. You don't even try objecting anymore, the stove is still on, the video on your laptop was probably still playing, and that knitting project will have to remain unfinished until tomorrow, but it was fine. You know that everything is fine when Miguel gets into bed with you, pressing his lips to the top of your head in one long kiss.
He wins this little dispute of yours, but you know that you've won at life knowing that your nights end like this, engulfed in his embrace, the sound of his breathing bringing you to a deep sleep as well.

Hope you're not over run with requests I really love your writing. I was hoping you could do something a little differently like eddie/reader are dating and his friend who's had a crush on him tries to break them up etc I'm always reading fics where reader is the best friend and eddie breaks up with the gf for her and tbh I want to see it the other way around where the gf is really sweet and nice and his friends tries to break them up but eddie choses the reader instead bc well he loves her.
A/N: Thank you so much! Requests like these makes my heart so warm, I really hope I interpreted the request like you imagined it. Also Chrissy had to take the role of the flirty friend here. Really hope you like it!
Summary: Chrissy has an obvious crush on the man you´re dating, and maybe she´s better for him than you are...

I can never be her
Her giggle used to be cute in middle school but now you just found it infuriating…
Ever since that time she bought weed from Eddie for this homecoming party, Chrissy Cunningham started to make appearances around your friendship group when you least expected it.
Objectively you knew that she was kind, that she was gorgeous and undeniably charming.
The problem was that she was kind and charming towards the guy you were dating.
You and Eddie had not expressly said that you were exclusive and up until Chrissy started inviting herself you hadn’t felt the need to express what you and Eddie were. Everyone else just sorta knew, by the way his hand always seemed to find yours. How your chair more or less always was empty, because Eddie's lap was your preferred seat, with his hands around your waist, his chin resting on your shoulder.
You did your absolute best to not let Chrissy's presence bother you too much, even though her flirting with Eddie was absolutely obvious, and the fact that it never seemed like she ever thought that you were an obstacle in her plan.
The rest of your friends all seemed to really enjoy having Chrissy around, which first of all made you annoyed.
Didn’t they see how she threw herself at Eddie, an in-every-way-but-officially taken man? It also meant that you couldn’t vent the annoyance and self doubt that floated around in your mind with someone.
This only spurred on the annoyance within you further.
It all peaked this one wednesday when your math teacher was “disucussing consequences” with the entire class, when only about two people in the class had disrupted her lesson. This resulted in you being well over 12 minutes late for lunch.
Eddie and the rest of your friendship group were waiting for you outside your classroom when a certain cheerleader with her perfect ponytail walked up to them.
“Ooo! Hi guys, fancy seeing you here?” Chrissy said, putting her manicured hand on the leather clad bicep that belonged to Eddie Munson.
He turned his head towards her and smiled at her, a gesture that from his view, was mere courtesy, but to her meant way more.
“You look good today,” Chrissy said to him, removing a strand of hair from his face delicately.
“Huh?” Eddie said, to be honest he hadn’t really listened to her, he was busy wondering and worrying slightly about the fact that your class hadn’t been dismissed yet.
Chrissy blushed when he looked at her. She didn’t feel like repeating her statement, it felt like it lost meaning when you said it more than once, so instead she just said;
“Are we heading to lunch?”
Eddie explained that they were headed there, but that they just had to wait for you first.
“Oh,” Chrissy said, “I was just thinking that we better get there before someone snags our table”
The other bought her reasoning but Eddie looked longingly toward the door that you were behind.
“Go on you guys,” he said. “I’ll wait for her”
This didn’t sit well with Chrissy. Eddie was the main reason behind why she wanted to have lunch with you guys.
“Cmon Eddie, I’m sure she’ll come join us later, she knows the way to the cafeteria” Chrissy said, tugging slightly on Eddie’s underarm.
He felt torn, all of his friends were waiting for him, but at the same time, you were expecting him to be there waiting for you.
“We’ll, uh, yeah I guess.”
You were indeed expecting him to be outside the door when you were dismissed 20 minutes later than you should have.
Your heart dropped a little as you saw a seemingly empty corridor.
I guess they grew too hungry. You thought and took off towards the crowded cafeteria.
Your hadn’t even entered when you saw it.
Chrissy in her short cheer-skirt, looking so incredibly perfect, perched up on the armrest of Eddie’s chair, chatting away to this jock and his girlfriend, and you noticed she made Eddie engage in the conversation.
That’s when another level of self doubt surrounding all of this, hit you.
You started to imagine what it would mean for Eddie, purely socially, if he was dating Chrissy.
She had a lot of say, and people trusted her judgement. If she dated Eddie then maybe people would stop treating him like utter garbage.
But only she had the mandate to do such a thing, you were about as low on the social ladder as any other nerd in the school.
It stung too much behind your eyes and you realised that you couldn’t keep it together well enough to enter the cafeteria and pretend that everything was fine. So instead you bolted, running away until you found a good place to hide and be alone with your thoughts.
That was how you ended up curled up in the dungeon master throne, in the dark drama room, hugging your own knees with tears trickling down your cheeks. All whilst your brain was telling you over and over again how you weren’t enough for him.
In the cafeteria Eddie was stressing over the fact that you hadn’t shown up yet.
He tried to bide the time, hoping that you would eventually show, but when you were a no show after 30 minutes he decided that he had waited long enough.
“I’m gonna go find her” he mumbled and rose from the chair, inevitably bumping Chrissy off the armrest as he did.
“Where are you off to?” She asked, obviously she hadn’t heard him.
He didn’t reply, he was way too focused on finding you.
He walked past your classroom, and found it empty when he glanced through the window.
He realised that something must have happened and he began to search in the different places where you usually went when you needed to be alone.
You weren’t in the forest behind school.
You weren’t under the bleachers.
You weren’t by his truck.
He however noticed that some muffled noises were coming from the drama room when he walked past, and smacked himself mentally for not checking there first.
“Sweetheart?” He called out as he opened the door. “You in here?”
You buried your face in your knees, hoping that he wouldn’t hear your sniffles and come find you like this.
Luck however wasn't on your side and soon he was squatting in front of the throne, a heavy comforting hand on your knee.
“Baby, did something happen?” He asked, one hand softly caressing the back of your head, trying to coax your head out of your own lap, but with no success. “Do I need to hurt someone?”
”No” you whimpered softly. “You can go back to her Eddie, I’ll be okay”
“Go back to who?” He asked, still slightly confused as to what caused you so much distress.
“Chrissy” you said barely above a whisper, you didn’t actually want to say it, because it could mean that he’d actually leave, but at the same time, he asked.
Eddie was dumbfounded for a minute, what did Chrissy have to do with anything?
Then realisation hit him like a ton of bricks.
Of course he had noticed Chrissy’s attempts, he wasn’t completely oblivious.
They meant nothing to him so he hadn’t bothered himself to much about it, but now he felt guilty when he realised that they had meant something to you.
“Baby, can you look at me,” he asked, feeling his own heart breaking for you more and more by every passing second.
You glanced up, unable not to when he sounded so soft.
“Eddie, I understand, she has things I’ll never have, she’s another level of gorgeous, she is smart, everyone loves her,” more tears gathered in your eyes as you spoke the words that had tormented your mind all morning,”she has a say in things Eddie. She's your shot to climb the social ladder and I think you should take it.”
Eddie's insides broke with every word you spoke.
”Sweetheart,” was all he got out in response as he was trying to figure out how to express the love he had for you in a way that made you feel it in every fibre of your being.
“Eddie, you don’t have to explain anything, I have come to realise that I am not her.” You said, looking at the puzzled man in front of you.
“That’s true” he said and the little dying hope inside was about to be put out, until he continued.
“And that’s why I want to be with you.”
You looked up at him properly this time, as if you couldn’t really believe what he was saying.
“What?”
“Can I hold you?” Eddie asked, he couldn’t see you hurt anymore without doing anything about it.
“Please” you pleaded, sounding so extremely tired of trying and failing to hold it together.
You got off the throne and Eddie got in it, then he opened his arms for you, which you quickly dove into.
You were with your back against Eddie chest, your head nuzzled in between his shoulder and cheek, inhaling the faint scent of musky wood and tobacco. The scent of Eddie.
“I”m sorry I never realised the way all her attempts were affecting you.” Eddie said. “If I knew I could have made it more clear to Chrissy, about us, I mean, I just sorta thought she’d figure it out and back off.”
“I’m sorry for feeling like this, I really tried not to..” you said, fiddling slightly with the rings that Eddie had on his left hand. “I mean it’s not that we’re official so I dunno …”
“Never apologise for that sweetheart, It’s a totally valid feeling and reaction.” He said and pecked the top of your head. Then he paused for a second, thinking. “Why aren’t we officially?”
You thought about it for a second.
“You want to be?” You asked, looking up into his soft brown eyes.
“Since the day we met gorgeous”

Somehow my thoughts drifted back to a former friend I blocked some while back.
The buildup that led to me ultimately blocking her was... frustrating, to say the least. It's still frustrating even now. Honestly, I don't know how or why my brain decided to remember her in this moment. Maybe the exam season stress is getting to me.
This girl, this person, hah, always loudly proclaimed to detest AI art and AI fanfic/writings, and yet still happily posted a lot about extensively using character AI.
Like, if she recognized the problems w AI art and voiceover and fic, why did it take so long for her to realize chat AI is bad too? I couldn't fathom the dissonance. I tried to break the news to her. Y'know, AI art scrapes from art, AI writing scrapes from real people's writing, and these generated responses that the character AI spits out... it's in written form, right? AI can't create from thin air like us creatives do. It's gotta be scraping from somewhere, it's theft too. It's no different from AI fanfics.
She acted like... It's hard to describe, her responses to my messages were... It's like she didn't want to stop using character AI so she padded out her replies with stuff about AI art and AI fic. Y'know, the things we both agreed were theft. The things that were not what I was trying to talk to her about.
She said she was scared that AI was running rampant now, that she was “on the fence” about character AI. Despite me having already laid out my reasoning it's no different from the other types of AI she claimed to hate.
She was not on the fence.
She kept using character AI after our conversation, she just refrained from bringing it up in our DMs.
I kept reblogging anti-AI posts hoping she would see and come to her senses (after all, talking directly did not fucking work) and she ignored my very unsubtle anti-AI reblogs on both my main and side blog, both of which she followed. She reblogged the stuff about AI art fic and voiceovers and completely and purposefully skipped over stuff about anti character AI.
I snapped.
I made a public rant about the scenario, grossly summarized and without naming names of course, because I was so fucking frustrated at this girl.
And then after that, after all that, she gets upset that I'm frustrated and ranted out loud (never revealed who I was frustrated at, I intentionally worded it so that it comes across as me being mad at a widespread phenomenon, which it also was, I was deeply frustrated with not only her but the rest of the AI apologists in the world).
Make it make sense, girl.
She said she was “trying to quit” character AI, she sounded really upset, and I thought, well I clearly snapped and crossed a line. She said she's trying to quit and she's my friend, she couldn't possibly lie to me, right?
Right?
Haha, WRONG.
I don't exactly remember the sequence of events after that. She kept using character AI, for sure, kept posting about it too (and that's the kicker isn't it, she could've kept using it in secret and not post it in public, then I would've blissfully assumed she had quit earnestly, but no, she couldn't help herself from posting and gushing about the generated responses the AI bot spat out for her). In the end I ended up blocking her. Probably because of that.
And then when she found out I blocked her she made a Sad™ post lamenting how sad it was when one is blocked by a mutual. And had the gall to say she “used to use character AI” and “used to be on the fence” when that... just wasn't the case, was it? I didn't block her because she used to use AI, it was because she kept persistently and stubbornly using it even after all my repeated warnings. It wasn't that she used to be on the fence about character AI, it's that she routinely refused to heed my very unsubtle (both direct and indirect) warnings over and over that made me fucking snap.
Like, don't make it sound like I blocked you for unreasonable reasons 😭 What else was I supposed to do? I certainly didn't want to keep interacting with someone who betrayed my beliefs.
And then? And then she figured since I wasn't watching her anymore she can do whatever she wants and then went all in on the whole character AI thing. Back to horny-posting about the generic thirst trap daddy archetype responses the blorbo character AI's were generating.
It's my fault, really, for going back to check on her again after a couple days, I should've stuck by my decision to block her forever but nooooo I got soft and wanted to see if I should unblock her after all, if I was too harsh on somebody who was trying but... Welp.
So, yeah. Dunno what brought on this trip down the (horrible) memory lane.
Anyways, if you are an AI apologist or leave your AI apologist friends to keep doing what they do with zero attempts to stop them you may feel free to block me forever and never interact with me or my posts again ✌️

Hellooo, here I am again, after all, you said I could bother you all I want with my random trivia that I have in the middle of the night so I will 😃 (Stop encouraging me if you don't I take it seriously and I won't stop anymore)
Just for the record, I read the fics and loved every one of them. Unfortunately I made up reading The Notion of Loss and re-read Till death do us part for the tenth time (that damn ending always kills me, you will pay for every tear shed 😡) that same night with a heart-wrenching soundtrack and it was the holy trinity that I I could sleep covered in my tears tonight. I force myself to suffer, I know, but... If I don't, who will? 😔
My question for today is something I'm pretty sure you've been asked before, but it doesn't hurt to try, does it? Could you talk about some of your favorite headcanons for a specific character or in general? (And if something has already been discussed here, could you name others, please?🥲) I know it's something that's already been used, but I really like it when the fandom comes together to believe in something collectively in a way that feels like the cartoon itself has already confirmed (CN would never give us that satisfaction, so what we have left is to hunt for our own survival)
By the way, what you said about not being able to leave the fandom is something that I think is very real to almost everyone inside. I really use the community as a place of comfort to hide from real life problems or even spend hours looking at random things like trivia or fan headcanons (Main reason for asking) and I think now I couldn't get out of something that it's already become a routine for me in some way, or even watching random videos and never remembering my comfort characters again, but anyway, just any outburst from someone who is going through a similar situation! 😊
About the new job and the delays...don't worry so much, we all take our time to adjust and for some it may take longer than for others! I think adapting is part of growing up and maturing and I know that there will come a time when you will feel stable enough to be able to focus your head on interesting new stories and plots, or writing bit by bit, I don't really know, I just know that with time everything will settle down and I'm sure that when you release a story or one-short again it will be amazing just because of your writing and plot that never disappoints. Well that was it, take your time, however long it is, and your 'comeback' in writing when you feel up to writing again and I will definitely be here to read everything from my favorite writer in the community!!!💗
Notes :
-Slightly jaded speech, I know, but I really hope that some of this text makes you feel somehow better ♡
-I know I write a lot, it's just that I get a little overexcited having someone to respond to the idiotic questions of the hysterical teenager that lives inside me 😔
- Any mistakes are just a coincidence that I know almost nothing of this language 😀 (If it's not readable I'll cry)
- The emoji thing was real.
aw thank you :))) your continued confidence in me is so kind. I hope I find time to write something soon. Anything, really! I miss writing and want to continue practicing. Also, I'm super happy that you read the fic recommendations. There are some crazy talented people in this fandom who have taken the time to write incredible stories. There are a thousand more out there, and I know some people I follow collect lists of fics, so if you want more, I'd sneak a look at some people's pinned posts. Pinned posts are sometimes the only way I find fics haha
To you're actual question, I have a lot of headcanons throughout my blog. Some are tagged, and some are not. Honestly, I couldn't remember my headcanon tags now! For the sake of not repeating myself too much, I'll give you three h/cs for the three girls :)
Bloss:
Follows rules until she no longer agrees with the rules, and then she makes new ones. Despite what people may think, Blossom isn't so caught up in the technicalities of right and wrong. She doesn't think black and white but is morally gray. She knows what right is, and she does what she needs to do to accomplish it, and sometimes that means choosing the lesser of the two evils and breaking a few rules.
Related to the top one, she has classic leader-martyr syndrome, but as she gets older, she burns out. I think it would be interesting if once she burns out, instead of quitting, she falls to second-in-command and pushes Buttercup to take over, but eventually has to take it back because of her ability to make hard sacrifices that BC lacks, and they both know it. Compared to Blossom, Buttercup is too overly-protective to make hard decisions.
Bad cheesy jokes and puns. She is not funny. No one thinks she's funny. She thinks she is, though, and believes her pep talks can move mountains (they cannot).
Butters:
Like I said, overly protective. When Blossom plays martyr, BC's there to catch her. Her over-protectiveness/toughness leads people to think she's intimidating and standoffish, but in truth, she's also the shyest sister. So, it's hard for her to make friends, but once she's your friend, you've got a ride-or-die for life. Despite how often she complains about things/people, she doesn't give up on others.
I also love her as a classic dude-bro. She loves watching sports, tracking sports statistics, and playing them. I don't think she'd be able to play on teams with normal humans, but given how many mutants pop up in Townsville, I headcanon there are superpowered teams, and she's in at least three of them. Idk which sports exactly, but 100% of the time, one of them is Roller derby.
In the show, she was prone to acts of aggression. I'd like to believe that when she grows up, she's mellowed out a great deal, but she's not at all cool like she hopes she is. If you're her friend, she's nosy, loud, and 100% in your business. If a doorknob pulls out her earbuds, she's 100% punching a hole in the door. Like, she's mellowed out, but she's "spice" for a reason.
Bubbles:
Blossom and Buttercup have 99 problems, and Bubbles is the cause of all of them :)) <3 she's a whirlwind of chaos and is always involved in some kind of shenanigans, which her sisters inevitably have to clean up. For all the problems she causes, she creates an equal amount of solutions. Things tend to work out for her. (I usually h/c Boomer as the same, but shit doesn't work out as well for him).
Her love life is dismal. There isn't much else to say. She's a girl who very much wants to fall in love, but she is not lucky with it. She doesn't understand that Blossom and Buttercup scare off 99.9% of all suitors. Down the line, this is a problem because she begins to think she's the problem, so Blossom and Buttercup have to bully people into dating her.
A nature nut, a cheerleader, a seamstress, a dog walker, a pet talker, and a lawncare enthusiast, she'd definitely be the jack of all trades in the family. She has more hobbies than she could ever keep up with, but she does just fine. Blossom might seem like the busy one, but Bubbles is more so. Unfortunately, unlike Blossom, she's horrible at keeping organized. Given all her odd skill sets, out of the three sisters, she's the most eccentric (and superstitious, but that's another h/c lol).
I hope these spark some interest!! I feel like these are pretty in line with my prior h/cs. I don't deviate from my characterizations of them often lolol

I've finally hit the point where I have to write the first fic for a fandom. I'm crying. There's nothing on Ao3 and I didn't bother checking FFN since I don't know how they tag CNs. Heroic Death System is so good, though. Maybe that's the problem. Its so good that no one ever wanted to add on. Or CNs just aren't popular. T-T All I wanted to do was read about Shang Ke BSing a reason for the change in behavior. But there's nothing at all. So now I'm going to have to write all the fics for it. I'll start with Arc 2 Redux since that Arc eats at me the most.
BTW, Heroic Death System is a Quick Transmigration story where Shang Ke has to have a Heroic Death as ordered by the System to fix the plotline that went badly thanks to the OG body. (Quick Transmigration refers to the Host being tasked with a mission and once its completed, taken to another world to continue on. Sometimes its to fix the plotholes, sometimes to "keep the plot on track". Usually in the case of the later, the Host accidentally gets the MC or target character to fall in love which derails the plot entirely. Whether or not there's penalties or workarounds depends on the System. Most of the QT novels I've read, in the case of romance, have the partner reincarnating across the worlds as well, so its still one partner. Usually it means there are Past Life Shenanigans in the background.) SK has a great internal thought process, its always funny. In the earlier Arcs he's a bit oblivious but he catches on partway through Arc 2. Also, it's a bit spicy in the later Arcs. SK ends up eagerly welcoming his lover's advances in the later lives even if he has to hold off for a while to stay in character. Each Arc is a great mini-story in its own right, if you like tragedy, with all but 2 Arcs having a repeat where SK can return and live a happy life with his partner. If SK gets a good score on his life, he can earn Rebirth cards that let him live with his lover's different incarnations. Also, there's Past Life Drama that comes up and makes it so there's suddenly Plot! in the later Arcs. It was pretty interesting. Good Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Time Travel (in some characters PoV), MPreg (in some lives), some Torture not explicitly described, Illnesses/Disabilities, Shapeshifters, Beastpeople, Sentinel&Guide, Fantasy, Cultivation, AlphaxAlpha, God AU and Ghost AU are the main things SK lives through. Also, his partner is very ... forceful isn't quite right. He loses SK every life in traumatic circumstances so his subconscious wants him to make the most of every moment, which leads to quick romance and ... OK, honestly, he's kinda yandere in some lives from past life trauma. He's very much the domineering CEO type in this, blended with yandere moments. SK is ok with this since he can get back together with his partner quickly in the new life and because his partner chills out in his redos since he stays with him. I'm trying not to give out spoilers for anyone who wants to read this later. Each Arc, not counting his redos, are about 10 or so chapters each, so they're good for bitesized reading. There's 275 chapters altogether, fully translated on snowycodex . com.
Anyways, I love the redo lives and I just keep imagining how SK explains his differences/BSing a reason for the change from OG body's actions. My Heart Beats For You (CW: brain tumors, heart diseases, car accident, kinda suicidal behavior(which occurs throughout the novel, i.e. the title)) has me in a death grip that randomly visits me a lot so I have high hopes I can write something good for it. I'm planning on having SK be "drunk" and whitewash his past to his lover and his friends. I have so much of the story he'd tell plotted out by now but I'm just going to have to figure out how to space it out and add in interruptions from the other characters.
(*/▽\*) I want to share it with you if I can finish it. I'm a huge fan. I'd love to see what you think.
Fuck yes babe this sounds fantastic. Link me when you get it done and I'll check it out!

Any tips on writing longer chapters but making each scene count and not be pointless filler?
The thing with chapters is they are as long as they need to be.
I never go into them with the thought "oh this will be 5k words". I know my chapter will probably be around 5-7k, but that's just because I know myself now and that's usually how many words it takes for me to get through a scene/moment. But not always! Sometimes it's done in 3k. Sometimes it takes 15k (which I usually then break into a Part 1 and Part 2, but they're initially written together as one long chapter before I split it). Coming in with a word count estimate is also almost always pointless - you are never going to be right on how many words you're going to need so it's a waste of time to try and hold yourself to one (excepting a drabble or if you're writing for an event with a specific word count).
If you're finding yourself just writing things to try and make your chapter longer, take a step back and look at what you've got and why you're trying to add more. If it's just for the sake because you want a higher word count, stop. Word count doesn't matter, more words isn't always better. Short chapters are fine. They're fun and punchy.
If you're adding more words because it feels like something is missing, look at the structure of what you've got going on. A story follows the structure that's a rise to climax and then fall to resolution. Chapters are a bit the same way with space for cliffhangers (end on climax, no resolution until the next chapter(s)). The point of splitting material into chapters is to give scenes breathing room and readers rest stops along the way through a long story. They're also great for pacing readers, building or releasing tension, depending on how you're splitting them. With that, each chapter should have a reason for existing on its own. I like to have one main or two related things happening, supported in the beginning with an "intro" to bridge the previous chapter to get into the action and a "conclusion" to bridge it to the next (assuming you didn't end the previous on a cliffhanger and aren't jumping right into action and aren't ending this one on a cliffhanger). Chapters shouldn't stand alone from the rest of the book, they can and should lean on things set up in previous chapters, but having the same rough structure is how I think about them and helps me figure out where a problem is if I have one.
So, you're writing words to fill something - where to look for the something? Are you missing context and need some exposition to better set something up? Are you missing dialogue to bridge an idea? Are you missing a beat that's a throwaway here but is foreshadowing a future chapter? Are you missing transitions so the main action feels abrupt?
The same thing goes for the other direction, trimming back when you have too much. Do you have too much exposition so it's dragging? Do you have extra dialogue that you like but doesn't serve any purpose? Are you cramming too many details in when a couple would cover the same point you're trying to get across? Are you repeating yourself?
Sometimes you just have to cut bits, even if you love them, because they just don't work for your pacing and are detracting from the main point of the chapter/story (remind me to post the deleted scene from the last JT chapter - I adored it but it fucked the pacing as I was streamlining the chapter). Keep the deleted bit in a folder somewhere - you'll always have it to go back and enjoy and more often than not it will be reslot itself back in with new context later in the story or in a different fic.
A lot of these are also just general pacing/writing advice, for overall stories and not just chapters, but see my earlier point about thinking of chapters a little bit like stories themselves (but not stand-alone!)
TLDR: Chapters are as long as they need to be. If you've told the scene you want to tell in that one and have set up the next chapter, don't worry about it if it feels short. If you haven't, figure out exactly what bit you're missing and fill it in, rather than padding for the sake of padding.

1 & 24 [warlock's cat] :)
1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)
If someone wants to get into my Shadowhunters stories I usually always recommend Exile. I think it's a really good example of how I like to write Malec, how I like to write the parabatai bond, how I write recovery and just h/c in general. Also, if you've never seen Shadowhunters, then the whole amnesia Alec thing serves as a decent way to enter the fandom, lol, because he gets his life explained to him.
24. Are there any easter eggs in [insert fic], and if so, what are they?
Alec's plan about visiting Magnus to discuss the Sirin/see if Magnus maybe wanted to get married was the original ending of the story. I decided I was having an illegal amount of fun and didn't want to end it so soon so I came up with this repeat transformation problem to extend the story which I actually ended up really loving so I'm very glad I decided to delay the whole thing to write a few more chapters.
I indulged in a lot of my "put kitty!Alec into kitty problems" dreams but two I ended up having to walk off the urge to include were Alec seeing naked Magnus just strolling around the loft and Alec on catnip. I really wanted the fic to be 900% good vibes fun so those two things (accidental voyeurism and accidental non-consensual drug use) would have maybe taken us into not good places so I skipped it. I did add Magnus giving Darling catnip right before the daring escape but Alec didn't sniff it so I figured no harm no foul. I WANTED TO THOUGH! There were others but those were the two main ones.
Thank you!!

the straight A student gets nowhere in life because they're used to following directions and not trying another path.
the D student who has mental breakdowns every time they're set down to testing however...
anyways I've been thinking about the school system lately. I've recently discovered that if I turn schoolwork into a stim activity I forget that it's actually supposed to teach me stuff. At this point I'm just repeating what they say and daydreaming mindlessly about my fics and future activities.
so how can I fix the school system... since I figured out a way around it by ignoring it completely, what's a way I can suggest betterments?
blah blah blah, not that 'frequent breaks' and 'applying yourself'
that's bullcrap, c'mon I tried that for years and only got more stressed.
the main problem with schoolwork is that it's boring, and it doesn't properly measure intelligence at all. Yes, the things they do mention, like science, language arts, history, all very important, but they're not letting us come to the discovery ourselves, which makes the value of learning that 'protons are positive' completely meaningless.
there's no reward. The 'reward' we get is good grades and praise, which actually harm our want to learn even further! If the prospect of a reward is the driving force to do something, you're gunna do that something as lazily as you can get away with just to get that reward.
so first you remove grades.
but then you're left with a boring quiz that doesn't hold any sense of accomplishment once you finish it, so why do it?
most of you read books, what makes you keep reading it? My mother says that the reason she keeps reading is cus she wants to know how it ends, so that means she has questions right? Questions about the story, characters, etcetc. And a phrase I hear sometimes in the writing community is, "Its not about what happens, its how it happens."
so if we make the educational system more like reading a book... A short expositional phase that gets the student's attention, filled with questions, possibilities, and few answers... basically get the student involved, get them outside, have them look at something complex and complicated and get them to say, "I wanna know more about THAT."
Also like with drawing! Most people start drawing because of professional art they saw.
creativity and curiosity are VITAL in learning new concepts.
here's more about how predictable today's system is. Most of my answers are based entirely off of PURELY the word choice of the question, I get questions right just by seeing which answer is 'fancier' looking.
you want kids to pay attention in class? Don't give them A,B,C answers, dummy, give them a topic and they'll come up with their own answer. Doesn't matter if they're wrong or right, they tried to answer it, just keep exploring the topic and they'll come to the conclusion eventually.
treat the subject like a discussion. I learned that in America, you can't eat a dead body off the side of the road because it qualifies as having the corpse in your possession. And it only stuck in my brain because there were a lot of people adding onto the conversation.
and no, taking students outside with worksheets and explaining how a river works is not a good example of learning.
teacher who put that 'Learning is Fun!' poster on their walls are the bane of my existence. Cus they always bullshit people if they don't do their work correctly.
if I've repeated words someone's already said I'm very sorry, I don't mean to bore people with the same old sentence over and over again :( I'm genuinely just frustrated with school and it's been boiling in my brain for the past few years.

3, 13, 23, 31, & 40 for the ask game? no pressure to answer all of them
adjflaskj hey Waffle I'm definitely going to answer all of them bestie!! I love when people want to know things about me lmaooo
3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic
For everything I write, it starts with an idea. Usually a trope or a quote or a conversation will inspire me and I'll go "that would make a great fic!" and then I inevitably start thinking about the most dangerous question, "where would I even start writing that?" And then I inevitably start writing the first chapter of the fic. Right after that, I usually write part of the climax of the fic, which will be re-written no less than 8 times when I get to it, but that comes later. After I have those pieces, I start padding in ideas around that and working out the plot usually by talking about it with people. I'll start noting down scenes and ideas, and this is where the process veers depending on the kind of fic I'm writing.
For a multi-chap, I usually sit down and work out the plot. I'll figure out the scenes I want to happen and in what order, at least for the major beats of the story. Sometimes I'll work out all the tiny details, sometimes I'll just cover the main things I know need to happen, and usually this is where I bring my corkboard into it.
For a one shot, I'll just throw the scene ideas at the end of the WIP file and figure out the order/work them in later. Usually along the way I come up with snippets of dialogue that I want the characters to say to each other in various scenes and I'll throw them in the snippets area (each fic has one).
Once my idea is worked out, I start writing the fic. I actually have to write from start to finish. I have to begin at the beginning and work my way through in order, or else I start repeating things and losing threads because I can't keep track of what's been written vs. what's in my head. The best analogy is that it's like making a braid for me: I have to have all of my strands laid out so I can work my way through to the end piece by piece.
Eventually, I'll have all of my words down for a chapter or the piece and I'll give it a re-read or three for editing, and then I'll send it to a few people I know for betaing or cheerleading (shoutout to @lovetimdrake, @chipmunkery, and @cassiopeiagamma (batsgf) for being the usual ones to put up with me!! go follow all of them if you don't already). After that, I'll usually post it within a few days! I usually give it a final pass before posting to see what tags I should add and catch any last editing things, and then I send it off!
Note: with the damitim fic I don't post as soon as I finish a chapter. I like having the padding of the next two chapters being ready to post and the chapter after that partially written before I post the next update, since I haven't actually finished working out the plot beyond the rough things I know need to happen in the next few scenes and some major story beats (solving the Bruce lost in time problem, Damian and Tim's relationship, etc). That story is an exception to the rule though, because it is pouring out of me without permission.
13. What's a common writing tip that you always follow?
I actually don't know if it's a common tip but it is excellent advice that I received from Chibi while working on Pieces of Me (Pieces of You), which was trying not to start a sentence with the same word as the last one.
Holy shit. That changed my life. My writing reads so much more interestingly now and I could NOT for the life of me figure out what it was that bothered me in previous fics when certain paragraphs felt clunky or whatever and adkjlfajsdlk the biggest thanks to Chibi for that advice!!! (side effect of that is that I hate everything I wrote before that piece, but something something I've grown as a writer)
23. Best writing advice for others?
honestly, some of Chuck Palahniuk's writing advice changed my life when I stumbled across it as a late teenager. So this link right here, and then also learning how to plot was make-or-break for me as a writer. My work was fine, but directionless and I could never finish a story because I didn't know how. So read Plot & Structure by James Scott Bell.
That, and listen to advice from other authors! I highly recommend the podcast No Write Way with V.E. Schwab (one of my favorite authors, and the podcast I got the book rec for plotting from).
And read. Reading more will make you a better writer through osmosis and I'm not joking about that.
31. Do you start with the characters or the plot when writing?
This is actually complicated because I can't separate them in my head. The plot is the characters. The characters are the plot.
Technically I guess I start with the characters and turn it into a plot, but there's always a kernel of plot in there to begin with!
40. If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?
ASKDJFALKSDJF ANYTHING LITERALLY ANYTHING AS LONG AS IT'S CREDITED AND I GET TO SEE IT, I WOULD LOVE IF SOMEONE MADE FANART OF MY WORK I'D ACTUALLY BE SO FUCKING EXCITED THAT I INSPIRED SOMEONE LIKE. YOU HAVE NO IDEA. AKJFAKLFJA.
Okay. Now that everyone knows that they have blanket permission to make fanart of my stuff: Now Kiss would be fun at just about any point, but the moments that stand out to me are when they're sitting with each other on the roof, the morning they wake up on the couch blushing, or the scene where they're lying in bed and looking at each other right before they get together.
Or of course, the DamiTim fic. I'd lose my shit over a shot of Tim sitting on Damian's couch from Damian's POV, or a shot of Damian walking out of the elevator carrying Tim. Or them on the motorcycle. Or another scene during the smut that shall name unmentioned because someone specifically mentioned to me that they might do it.
And actually about five other scenes from chapters I haven't posted yet.
Thank you for the ask bestieeee 💖💖💖💖💖 this was a lovely distraction 💚
Send me asks from this ask list!!

Momo, hear me out...jealous Geto who gets jealous of how much time reader spends with his daughters cause he feels like they're taking her away from him, tells himself that it's because she's not doing her wifely duties of producing an heir.
He sulks all day until they're back in bed and even though he wants to stay angry he just wants to be close to her so he ends up spooning her and gently rubbing her tummy imagining their future son, reader is still a little nervous around him but she's grown accustomed to him doing the tummy thing every night.
They talk about how many kids they want, and Geto is just like "two" after he thinks about how much time she already spends away from him tending to the girls and that babies would take up more of her time.
YES LELI. OMG. BLESS UR BRAIN AFDHAJD frick this made me fall more in love with Geto AHHHHH
Tumblr media
BOUNDED
Geto Suguru x f!reader
cw: arranged marriage au!, cockwarming, smut, with a dash of fluff, breeding, mention of pregnancy, hinted lactation kink
a/n: the link to the main fic is there in the title huhu also I have Geto brain rot. ( also sorry, no proofread ;-; ) I can’t wait to write more Geto content afdgshdhshhe
Tumblr media
The days where Geto’s presence was sparse in a week were unfortunately too often, you didn’t complain, more like you couldn’t. He’s a busy man, your husband…husband, you caught yourself repeating silently. The way that title was bestowed upon him wasn’t as foreign as it was on the day you two married, slowly you were getting accustomed to it but you still would always greet him shyly when he returned home.
Ah yes, the home. The large old-fashioned Japanese styled home surrounded by thick woods, a green lawn along with a garden and couple yards away was the house for the hired helping hand to keep the house in tip-top shape while Geto was away. With that, he kept his promise of you not having a burden amount of household chores to do.
Loneliness wasn’t a problem, not with how the girls finally moved in recently. They were more than happy to have you around, they donned beaming smiles that warmed your heart and they would talk your ear off with anything and you would always happily listen. They’d express how a feminine touch would do Geto good, and that it was about time he had someone by his side when they’re not. Mimiko expressed that they just wanted him to be somewhat happy and that the hole of loneliness he felt could be filled in by you.
“That’s very sweet of you both to say,” you smiled warmly at them, plating the the croquettes that the three of you made as an activity for dinner. “I’ll do my best to fulfil my duty as his wife.”
The two girls squealed excitedly, hugging you from both sides, the crackle of croquettes frying in hot oil softer than their voices.
“Oh, Y/N-san, can you come with us to Harujuku this weekend?!” Nanako bounced beside you. “Mimiko and I are dying to try this crepe place there!”
Mimiko’s head bounced excitedly, nodding, their expressions reminding you of fluffy puppies wagging their tails in anticipation.
“I’ll have to ask Suguru first,” you told them, switching off the stove.
“That’s okay.” They chirped in unison, the young girls smiles wanting your heart, happy to be giving them some sort of normalcy in their lives. If a mother’s love was what you could give them, then you’ll give your all to grant them that.
But you didn’t expect one outing to become two, then three. The duration of whenever Geto was away now spent with the two girls he adopted as his own daughters, and the man of the house didn’t expect that you’d be so preoccupied with the girls that he wouldn’t even be able to steal a kiss nor a glance whenever he was home or at the headquarters.
Geto from his spot at the head of the table, glanced to the opened shoji doors that looked out at the garden where he could see you and the girls, the conversation between the donators something that went one ear and out the other.
When was the last time he saw you? Touched you? How were the girls stealing your attention so easily from him, your darling, husband?
He let out a heavy sigh, the men sat with him tensed, believing that sigh to be a bad sign. The first commander by his side, inquired quietly of his well being.
“I’m fine,” he tilted his head, eyes still on you, watching the way a smile stretched on your face as the two girls played in the pond trying to catch the fishes.
“You’re sulking,” his first commander pointed out and Geto raised his brows at the curse users statement. “A stormy cloud follows you.” The young man deadpanned.
“Sulking?” Geto’s ever present smile remained on his face masking to those who weren’t close to him of the green jealousy he felt sprouting from his chest.
Did you enjoy spending time with the girls rather than with him? Why weren’t you greedily pawing at his robes whenever he was home even if it was for only an hour or two before he’s off again? With how busy he was, how was he going to make sure his seed takes and produce an heir?
“Suguru,” you approached him after the meeting was over. You stood close to him but maintained a respectful distance since you two were not at home. “Are you done for the day?” You asked sweetly, your hands behind your back, hiding something from his gaze.
From his seat on the tatami, his cheek resting on his knuckles, he watched as you knelt and sat on your heels, kimono robes folding neatly with your movements.
“Not quite,” he answered, reaching out to twist strands of your hair between his fingers, feeling their soft texture as if they were the most interesting thing in the world. “Why?” He cocked a brow, a teasing smirk, the same one who showed you on the day you on got married on the journey to your shared home. “You miss me?”
Heat exploded in your cheeks and from the way your brains cogs seemed to malfunction, Geto assumed from your flushed face that you did miss him but was too shy to admit it,
“D-don’t overwork yourself,” you simply replied, looking away, fighting the urge to over your hot face with your hands. He didn’t like it when you hid your face from him you remembered. “I brought you some biscuits the Mimiko, Nanako and I made this morning.” You took his hand, placing it gently on your lap before occupying his empty palm with the carefully packed biscuits.
Not expecting a thank you at all, you bowed your respectfully, as you were taught, and made movement to leave. The large tatami room still had some of his followers lingering about discussing and making conversation with other member, you believed it was best to act professional as to not interrupt anything.
A soft tug at your wrist, you were pulled to Suguru’s chest, your hands finding it’s place on his shoulders for support. Before you could say anything, soft warm lips pressed against your temple.
“Thank you,” he whispered before letting go, your heart pounding in your chest.
In the corner of his eye, Geto could see his two daughters giggling behind the shoji door.
“Come home safely,” you murmured softly, the concern in your voice making Geto’s heart flutter, something he’s been feeling lately with you.
When he did get home, you had prepared dinner for the family, the girls keeping you occupied again after the meal just when he thought he could have you to himself. But he couldn’t blame them…how long have they gone without a mother figure? And there’s only so much he could give them as a stand in father.
When will he get you alone, he wondered, taking a sip of the sake you poured for him as you and the girls did the dishes together, a domestic sight, a normalcy, he wanted to protect. You looked cute in that apron too, he’d like to see you with nothing but the apron on later if he could.
And he did.
Once the girls were fast asleep in their rooms on the other side of the house, Geto wasted no time in pulling you close to him, kissing you deeply with need, tongue dancing with yours as his hands wandered your curves. The thought of how your time was not filled with him gnawing at his chest, jealousy oozing, his anger silent.
“Suguru,” you chuckled, his lips on your neck ticklish.
“Mhm?” He hummed pulling away to look at you and pinning your wrists against the mattress, before sliding his fingers to intertwine with yours. “What is it?”
You debated on telling him, the whole idea or feeling of it, childish. You slid your hands into his hair, untying his hair from the half up bun it was in, letting it fall freely. “It’s nothing.” You smiled, caressing his cheek, his high cheekbones and dark slanted eyes features of his you admired.
“It’s not nothing. I can see it in your eyes you want to tell me something,” he spoke, pressing his thigh against your core, the apron he requested for you to keep on while remaining completely bare beneath it, only the thing that’s covering you.
You softly moaned, hips rolling upwards to grind your clit against his thigh, the movement delightfully surprising him. You were getting more and more comfortable with him, slowly easing yourself to be more open with him. But he liked you like this, greedy hips grinding against him and looking at him in that way where he was all you ever needed. He shuddered when he felt your growing arousal make it easier for your slow movements glide against the skin of his thigh.
“I just missed you that’s all,” you admitted, squeezing his hands while you shuddered from the pleasure slowly building up inside you.
“Then why didn’t you come look for me?” He pressed his nose against the curve of your neck, deeply inhaling your scent. “I would’ve been more than happy to entertain you.” He sucked on your sensitive spot, earning him a sweet moan.
“I-I wouldn’t want to distract you from something important,” your arms snapped around him, nails digging into his flesh, his thigh pressing a little harder at your clenching core.
“How sweet of you,” he hummed, snaking a hand down between the two of you, your walls clenching around nothing when his cool fingers brushed against your hipbone and whining when you felt the tips of his finger ghost over your clit. “I look forward to coming home to you every night, you know that?” He slowly to massage your hardening nub in circles, slick leaking out of you. “To kiss you, to touch you, to see your pretty face light up as if you haven’t seen me in years. All of that for me? You spoil me.”
You wanted to say that he was the one spoiling you. Whether he loved you or not, it didn’t matter. You were indebted to him, to his kindness, that he wasn’t hurting you and degrading you for having weak cursed energy flowing within you unlike your relatives.
“And besides all of that,” his fingers teased at yo ur entrance, his dark eyes watching your eyes shut and your lips get bitten by your teeth. “You obediently let me fuck this cunt.”
You gasped at the sudden plunge of two digits inside you, filling you up as your walls hungrily clenched around them. His words, his voice and his touch, melted you.
“I was angry, you know,” he curled his fingers you, making you cry out in pleasure. It felt so good. Whenever he touched you like this, it always felt sinfully good. “But I could never stay mad at you.” The obscene wet, squelching of your cunt swallowing his fingers reached his ears, the sound making Geto harder. His other hand tugged the front of the apron aside, your right breast now exposed to cool autumn breeze that blew into the room.
He lowered his head, fingers still pumping in and out of your tight heat, and enveloped your breast in his mouth, his tongue circling around your hardened tip before sucking harshly, the notion making your walls clench around his fingers tighter. Your breathy moans and soft whimpers of his name were as melodious as when he first heard them, and as he continued to suckle on your breast, he couldn’t help but let his mind wonder to the thought of you already swelling with child, your breasts heavy and leaking with sweet, sweet milk.
Those thoughts were not a far away dream but one that he could achieve, and with your knees pressed to your chest, the cute apron crumpled to your waist as your breasts bounced with each thrust, he was getting closer and closer.
Geto was lost at the feeling of your tight walls embracing his length with need, begging to be filled with his seed, to milk him dry. No words except his name could fall from your lips in the moaning and breathless mess of a state you were in, your hands were gripping his biceps, taking each deep stroke so well.
The scent of sex wafted through the air, his guttural groans and moans only stirred you further to the edge, the relentless piston of his hips and the very presence of him, was all too much for you. You couldn’t remember how much you came but you could always make out and remember the sensation of when his hips would still to empty himself in your womb before slowly fucking his cum into you. n the arms of the man who you were bound to by oath, you felt peace and even love. Your thighs twitched from the remnants of your high and the excess of his seed that couldn’t be taken into your womb, leaked out and around his cock that was still nestled inside you, now soft. His body pressed against your back and his lips pressed onto the crown of your head, his hand caressed your tummy’s something he’s been doing lately.
“Sugu…”
“Yes, my dear?” He sounded so at peace, calm. No turbulent waves radiating from him.
“H-how many children do you want? However much you want, I’ll do my best to give you,” you confessed, heart pounding in your chest.
Geto couldn’t repress the smile forming on his face. How lucky of him to have chosen you as his wife. He’d never forget the day he first met you, his path was shrouded with darkness and the brief moment his eyes locked with yours and you gave him a soft smile, the kind that came form the heart, he felt bathed in sunlight.
“Two.” He answered, continuing to caress your lower abdomen.
“Just two?”
Geto was amused with how surprised you were.
“Why?” His hand trailed low, close to your core that pulsed around him. “Do you want more than that?” Even if he only wanted two initially, if you wanted more what kind of husband would he be to deny you? Besides, having a big family with you isn’t so bad.
“I-I just wanted to know,” you hurriedly blurted out, cheeks burning.
“I only want two cause I would be jealous.”
“Of our babies?” Your brows furrowed.
“Yes. They would take all your attention away from me like our girls do,”
Your heart fluttered when he called Mimiko and Nanako ‘our girls’. It was such a small thing but it meant the world to you, to be apart of his life and theirs.
“But then again, whatever you do, no matter how mundane…I’ve grown to love.”
“Isn’t it a bit childish to get jealous over your children getting more attention than you?”
That earned you a playful pinch on your waist, making your squeal and unintentionally clench around him, making him softly moan.
“I was never very good with sharing. Plus, who can blame me for getting jealous when I have such a beautiful, loving wife?”

Hi, this is very random but I'm actually writing a dissertation on Harry Potter Fanfiction and I'm looking for the 'big' fics, i.e. fics that lots of people in the fandom read - the most popular/famous ones that might even have their own sub-fandom (All The Young Dudes for example). Do you know of any Drarry ones like this? Thanks in advance!
What a wonderful topic for a dissertation @realistic-but-optimistic - I would LOVE to read it if you ever publish/want to share. And I definitely have some recs for fics that have their own mini fandom and/or are ‘The Drarry Classics’
What We Pretend We Can't See by @gyzym [131k words]
Seven years out from the war, Harry learns the hard truth of old history: it’s never quite as far behind you as you thought
This is THE fandom classic almost everyone has read and talks about. It features a redeemed, slightly obsessive, charming Draco. Grimmauld Place plays a huge role in the fic and Ron/Hermione are wonderful. Overall 10/10.
Running on Air by @tinyhistory [75k]
Draco Malfoy has been missing for three years. Harry is assigned the cold case and finds himself slowly falling in love with the memories he collects.
I genuinely do not know if any fic rec can do justice to this masterpiece. It’s so beautiful and poignant and somehow nostalgic. The language, the plot, the pining and the mystery are all breathtaking. You have to read this one yourself to believe me. This is definitely a major fandom classic.
Tea and No Sympathy [70k] by who_la_hoop
It's Potter's fault, of course, that Draco finds himself trapped in the same twenty-four-hour period, repeating itself over and over again. It's been nearly a year since the unpleasant business at Hogwarts, and Draco's getting on with his life quite nicely, thank you, until Harry sodding Potter steps in and ruins it all, just like always. At first, though, the time loop seems liberating. For the first time in his life, he can do anything, say anything, be anything, without consequence. But the more Draco repeats the day, the more he realises the uncomfortable truth: he's falling head over heels for the speccy git. And suddenly, the time loop feels like a trap. For how can he ever get Harry to love him back when time is, quite literally, against him?
If you like Groundhog Day style fics, this is the winner! It has over 32k kudos on AO3 which is INSANE! It’s super well written and keeps you hooked until the very end. And it’s not just this one, every fic by this author is a classic in its own right. Especially ‘written on the heart.’
Right Hand Red [73k] by @lqtraintracks
Harry felt Malfoy's breath on his lips as they came together over the bottle, hands firmly planted on the floor as though they each needed their familiar soil, refusing to cross into enemy territory.
Except that Malfoy no longer felt like his enemy.
Malfoy felt inevitable.
No rec list can be complete without an eighth year fic. The fandom is FULL of eighth year fics and they’re perfect for anyone craving a Harry Potter continuation but with Drarry. This is one of my absolute favourite ones. It features a lot of party games and it’s really nice to see Harry and Draco have a chance at a normal school year for once, something they’ve been robbed of for so many years. There’s a lot of pining and healing in this one and I felt all the feels when I read it.
Away Childish Things [151k] by @letteredlettered
Harry gets de-aged. Malfoy has to help him.
This one. This one. THERE ARE NO WORDS BUT I WILL VALIANTLY ATTEMPT. I love it. It explores Harry’s childhood in a way very few fics have managed to and it really really tugs at the heartstrings. It’s gorgeously written and evokes so many emotions. Please read this one.
Stop All the Clocks (This Is the Last Time I’m Leaving Without You) [44k] by @firethesound
Living with Draco was difficult; living without him is unbearable. But if there’s one thing Harry learned from the war, it’s that even when one life ends, the rest of the world goes right on living.
Full disclosure- I haven’t read this and I don’t know if I ever can. It features MCD (main character death) and I really struggle with reading fics that don’t have a happy ending. Having said that, it is a fandom classic and everyone who has read it, RAVES about it. They say it’s gorgeous and beautiful and devastating. What I can confirm is that firethesound is an amazing author and I have read several other fics by them which could also be considered fandom classics. Especially ‘All Our Secrets Laid Bare’ which is the ultimate Auror partners fic and ‘A Convenient Impracticality’ which is the ultimate fake dating/friends-with-benefits fic.
Dwelling [83k] by aideomai
Curses, James and Lily Potter ride again, several Ministry balls, a teenage Summer of Love, a grim young adult dystopian winter, a few different Draco Malfoys, secrets and the problems re: not having any, alternate lives, impossible lives, real lives, allusions to Dirty Dancing, and just because it's not called the Mirror of Erised doesn't mean you shouldn't know better.
Oh my goodness, this fic ruined me. In the best possible way. If you want a glimpse into how Harry’s life could have been if his parents had been alive and if Harry and Draco had been friends from the start, this is the one. There's a huge twist which makes the fic EVEN better. I don’t want to spoil too much but this one is worth a read. Another fic by the same author, ‘Far From The Tree’ is also gorgeous. It’s a newer fic so I wouldn’t say it’s a classic yet but the plot is SO unique. It features Harry’s grown up kids coming back into the past and how that could affect Harry/Draco’s relationship. All the characters are super well written and it’s one of my personal favourites!
Other notes:
I made a Drarry rec list when I first got into the fandom. I would say almost all the fics on this list are also classics/very well liked.
Another great way to find classics are through this link. They are Drarry fics on Ao3 (30k+ words) sorted by the number of kudos they’ve received. I would say all fics on the first five pages can be considered classics.
Here are three other SUPER adored authors in the Ao3 fandom: Bixgirl, Saras_Girl and GallaPlacidia
All works by Bix and Saras_Girl are considered classics. GallaPlacidia started writing for the fandom only a couple of years back but she has such a knack for writing both these boys, it’s absolutely insane. I’m 100% confident her fics will be considered classics in a few years! Especially ‘The Bucket List’ and ‘Ship of Theseus.’
Enjoy and hope this helps!!

Alright! I am…honestly still not really here for a bit, but I am in the new house and have internet (though nearly everything I own is still in boxes and the Other Life Stuff continues to be so much and all the time). @lttrsfrmlnrrgby tagged me and asked me to name my 5 fave fics, which is convenient, cause I've only actually posted 8.
So, these are my favourites at the moment, mostly for structural reasons or just because they let me do something I don't usually do or whatever. Subject to change as more stuff gets posted, etc etc.
The paths we used to roam - Obi-wan Kenobi, Gen, 3,213 words
This is…sort of part of the unofficial series I've been calling in my head 'timeloops and trauma reactions', which includes See a dying star and a couple others I am sort of poking at but have not wholly committed to. I'm really proud of this one, honestly — it was an experiment in such a relatively constrained narrative space, with such a fixed start/restart point, and I think I pulled it off really well. Also, the repeated refrain was a pain in the ass to figure out, but I'm so glad I made it work — I think it makes the emotional arc and ending very much land exactly how I wanted it to. I love time loops, and I love when I can pull the rug out from under the reader, and I don't think I've posted anything that quite matches this in how hard that rug gets pulled, emotionally.
(Time loops and trauma reactions is called that because it's…well. Basically just that. See a dying star is the 'no thoughts, head scrombled egg' kind of dissociative trauma response, The paths we used to roam is the 'This time the wall will break before my head does. This time. THIS time. THIS time—' kind of trauma response, where you just keep throwing yourself at a problem because you don't know how to stop doing that.)
We are kneeling at the river's edge - Obi-wan Kenobi, Gen, 3,489 words
More angst! (I swear, I don't usually write angst in any other fandom I've been in. Or at least not this consistently.) I love this because I went in knowing the last line basically exactly as it's written, and then just…worked backwards from there. Smoothest fic I've ever written. Also, and you might have noticed this if you've read my other stuff, I really like to play with what the reader knows from canon — in this case, what happens to Obi-wan — and use it to help inform the mood of a piece. There's almost nothing I like more than making that kind of 'light at the end of a tunnel; you hope it's daylight; you're scared it's a train' sort of sensation, and this one very much pulls it off. (It's a train. It's almost always a train. Almost always.)
Set the hounds on my tracks - Obi-wan Kenobi, Quinlan Vos, Qui-gon Jinn, 10,633 words
This is a side fic to Be that monster you been wanting, my raised-as-a-sith!obi-wan au, and it's a mission fic that contains hilariously little mission. I really enjoyed the conceit of this; since Be that monster you've been wanting is all from Qui-gon's PoV, we get a lot of things filtered through what he notices — or doesn't notice, as the case may be. So in this I got to sort of re-introduce both Obi-wan and Qui-gon, from a…not really neutral observer, but one who's at least noticing different things to Qui-gon.
I also got to explain a bit more about why the jedi are even involved in the war, and why they're not really doing the obvious to the reader things, such as following up on what in the fuck happened with obi-wan or anything else — there's just no time or manpower.
I kind of gloss over this a bit in the main fic — it's there, but it's not the focus in the same way — but Quinlan, being a shadow, is slightly less caught in the 'have battle, go directly to next battle, have battle, rush to next disaster, solve, run to next—' sort of loop Qui-gon and the other frontline Jedi are caught in, so he can actually pause to take a glance around, rather than running from problem to problem trying to put out fires. Not much of a glance, admittedly, but more than someone like Qui-gon can. So, for a mission fic, this has relatively little mission, a lot of background world details, and a bunch of character work, all of which was very fun to write.
Plus it underlines some stuff for the main fic that'll come up in a little while. Efficiency!
Ghost at the back of your closet - Obi-wan Kenobi, Bail Organa, Breha Organa, Bail/Breha, WIP currently at 10,394 words.
Murderpuppy fic my beloved. This is my baby. My incredibly self indulgent baby. This is very much a fic (/series, for all the other works aren't posted yet) that is running purely on what plot points I want to see in the world, and I don't care how contrived or done they are, because, y'know, we all know what we're getting into here. That said, this is also the fic I'm enjoying as a writer because everyone in it is making assumptions based on incomplete knowledge, and then acting on that with full confidence. I love playing with that sort of thing — seen from Bail's perspective, Ben is a sweet person who's trapped in a terrible situation, and he's doing his best to mitigate that, however little he can. If you looked at it from the Jedi's perspective, however…not so much!
Bail (and Breha, and Team Alderaan) are giving the benefit of the doubt to someone who both deserves it, and also, objectively, is an insane person to give the benefit of the doubt to, given, uh, everything about him and his situation, even just what Bail and team Alderaan know thus far.
Also just like. I love the Organas and think they should get to go apeshit; I love ludicrously complicated political maneuvering and spycraft and information control. I read too many animorphs novels at a formative age and very much imprinted on them; you can probably tell this given, uh, most of my writing in the star wars fandom, tbh.
And last but not least: Be that monster you been wanting - Obi-wan Kenobi, Qui-gon Jinn, WIP currently at 24,929 words.
My other baby. This absolutely bonkers project was meant to be a quick four chapters at most. It is, uh, obviously not that. Current projection is about 19 - 23 more chapters (😰), plus three side story fics that will likely be around about 10k words each (😰😰). Subject to change, because there are some bits that need a fuck of a lot of editing, etc etc.
That said! I'm very pleased with this fic. I'm really focusing on deliberate language with this fic — word choices, what characters say or don't say, etc — and having a lot of fun with the unreliable narrator tag and how perception shapes your reality. I'm also really enjoying kind of…fleshing out the world, and putting in all the weird little world building details that get skimmed over in canon because it's a kid's show and we don't talk about the horrors of war. (it's the animorphs fan again. What is the point of children's media except for war crimes, documented?)
This is sort of a funny one, as stories go, because it's a lot of stories all happening at once. Nineteen stories in a trenchcoat. Obviously, there's the war, and what Obi-wan and Qui-gon are up to in the war. There's Obi-wan's padawanship. There's Qui-gon's padawanship and his relationship with Dooku and also his own past. There's the sith plot. There's Mandalore. There's Anakin, and Garen, and — well. You get it.
And there's also, on a slightly metaphorical level, the story of an abusive family (-esque situation), and how the fuck you handle that or even recognise it when you're inside it and don't know anything different. It's the story of how that sort of thing is allowed to slip through the cracks, even in a place with the best of intentions, and how one failure sets up the next, and how sometimes the lessons you learn aren't the ones anyone means to teach. It's the story of being the eldest sibling, who never really knew your younger sibling — age gap, moving out before they were born, whatever —, who's estranged from your younger sibling who crashed out and crashed out hard, only maybe they had a reason, but they still crashed out, but can you blame them, but you can only be sympathetic really once you know why, but…
It's doing a lot of things, and I did pick to do it in the most complicated way possible, but…it's fun. I love a domino chain of plot points, and by god, there's a fuck of a lot of dominoes in this particular chain. (and I can't wait for the point they start to really pick up speed as they tip over.) uh, tagging -- @glimmerglanger, @notquiteaghost, @calika, anyone else who wants to jump on the bandwagon. (also, sorry if you’ve already been tagged, I’ve very much seen intermittent snatches of tunglr and that’s it, also i haven’t slept more than five hours at a stretch in like. a week.).

That’s What We’re Here For
Pairing: Will Halstead x HalsteadSister!Reader x Jay Halstead
Request by anon: Hello! Could you maybe write halstead!sister imagine? She is always helping others including her brothers but refuses to get help herself and she just hides that something is wrong. And it got to the point when it's hard to hide it so Jay and Will get really worried about her.
Warnings: non-con touching, harassment, angst, mild cursing
A/N: First Halstead sister fic, which was also a request! I tried to balance out enough of each brother, so I hope it came out well and that you like it! Thanks for making this request! As usual, would love to hear thoughts or feedback! I’ll continue to take Halstead Sister requests, so if you have anything in mind, feel free to drop me an ask! ^^
Part 2
Tumblr media
---
Jay got up as you pushed the door to your apartment open.
“Hey, I thought you said…” he stopped midsentence as you looked up at him.
“Jay?” You asked, confusion lacing your voice as you wondered why your older brother was sitting in your apartment, before you remembered that you had actually agreed to meet him earlier. “Oh my god, I’m sorry Jay. I completely forgot.”
Jay furrowed his brow. “Y/N? Did something happen?”
You paused but shook your head. “No, I just… got caught up.”
You knew that Jay wasn’t buying your story but you pretended not to notice. “Jay, can we just get some food? Please?”
Jay sighed, eyeing you out of the corner of his eye before nodding. “Will’s buying.”
You broke into a smile. “Definitely in.”
---
You twirled your pen in your hand, nodding along as your colleague made her presentation, occasionally looking down at your notes. You looked back up at the presentation, and that’s when you felt it. Again. A hand on your knee.
You could feel your body freeze, and you could almost feel ice travelling up your veins. You swallowed.
It had started a few months ago. You still remembered the first time he had made a comment about the dress you were wearing and your figure. Then it had progressed to staring, a few brush ups against you that were just a little too close for comfort and once even a rubbing of your upper arms that sent the alarm bells ringing in your head.
You looked up at him, your team leader. He was looking away, as if he was totally invested in what your colleague was presenting, so much so that no one else could have guessed what was happening.
You shifted your knee uncomfortably, pulling your leg away and crossing them, angling your body away from him. Yet, at the same time, you knew it was futile. All these months, any form of rejection or attempt to avoid him just seemed to make him more determined to get what he wanted.
You hadn’t told anyone what was happening but you were strong and you weren’t about to let this asshole break you. That’s what your father had ingrained in you and that’s how your brothers were. You’d be damned if you broke to pieces.
So you kept on a brave front, avoided being alone with him as much as you could and never let on to anyone, including your brothers, that anything was amiss.
But if this kept up, you weren’t sure how long more you could go on.
You’d only admit this to yourself late at night in the darkness of your bedroom, huddled in the safety of your covers, but you were getting a little scared. He was getting bolder and he seemed to be trying his luck but stuck in a male-dominated environment, you weren’t sure about letting yourself become embroiled into a he said-she said situation.
As the meeting ended, you quickly stood up but not quickly enough apparently. “Y/N, can I see you in my office, please?”
You froze but you knew there was no way of getting out of this one so you simply nodded, moving out of the meeting room to put your notes on your desk before heading to his office.
Taking a deep breath, you knocked on his office door and let yourself in, leaving the door open.
“Close the door, please.” He said, while smiling, his smile only managing to send shivers down your spine.
You swallowed down the lump in your throat but followed his instructions, finding no way to argue. “I just wanted to talk to you about your progress reports.” He continued, motioning for you to sit down.
“Is there a problem?” You asked.
He smiled back at you. “Not at all, I think they’re very well done.” He got up. “More well done than I expected.” He continued, pacing the office, his fingers trailing across your shoulders as he walked behind you. You took another breath as you felt his fingers touch the fabric of your dress.
You moved, turning to look at him square in the eye and he smiled back at you. “Just wanted to tell you to keep up the good work.”
“If you keep it up and make the right choices, you’ll do very well here.” He continued.
You swallowed down the bile that you could feel at the back of your throat. “If there’s nothing else, I’ll get back to work.”
You stood up and made your way to his office door until you felt him grab your arm and push you slightly against the wall. You took a sharp intake of breath as he leaned in closer, his lips almost touching your ear. “Remember, the right choices.” He whispered before he stepped backwards, smirking.
You quickly left his office, making a beeline for the restroom. You barely made it in time to the toilet before you threw up.
---
“Hey.” Will called, jogging towards Jay.
Jay nodded, glancing back down at his watch. “I’m just stopping by. I have to get back to the district soon. Listen, about…”
Will didn’t need Jay to finish his sentence. “Y/N, right? Yeah, something’s definitely up.”
Jay nodded, “As long as we’re on the same page about this. You know her…”
Will shrugged, “The stubborn gene was passed on by Pops. She’ll never reach out first for help. Let’s wait and see before we you know... intervene.”
Jay glanced at his watch again. “I really got to go. I’ll see you tonight though?” Will nodded back as Jay got back into his truck.
Will sighed as he watched his younger brother drive off. Something was definitely up. Even when they had met for dinner a few nights ago, there had been something different, something off, something he or Jay couldn’t put their finger on, which worried him.
As he looked up to go back in, he noticed an all too familiar silhouette and took another glance.
“Y/N?” Will called out.
You were almost at the entrance and turned, giving your oldest brother a sheepish smile. “Hey Will.”
Will jogged towards you. “What are you doing here?” You could see that look on his face as he looked you over.
“I think it’s my IBS.” You grimaced as another cramp ripped through your abdomen. “Can you just…”
“Come on, let’s get you checked out.” Will muttered, pulling his arm around you gently as you sighed.
Thankfully, it was a slow day at Med and Will was able to get you into a treatment room before long. “Ethan, I need your help.” Will called.
“What do we have?” Ethan asked, jogging in.
Will glanced at you. “This is my sister, Y/N. She thinks her IBS is starting out again, can you just take a look?”
Ethan nodded at you. “Hi, I’m Dr Choi, let me take a look?”
You lay back as he pressed your abdomen gently and went through the necessary checks and questions before nodding. “Let’s just get a scan in case. If nothing is out of the ordinary, we’ll get you setup with some of your normal medications and you can go.”
“Thanks Doc.” You replied, giving Will a ‘I told you so’ look before sitting up again.
As Ethan left the room, Will continued to stare at you, leaning on the wall and folding his arms. “You haven’t had an episode in a while. Are you stressed?”
You shrugged. “Not really.”
Will continued to stare at you. “You’re going to stare a hole through me.” You commented.
“You threw up.” Will pointed out.
“It’s just a small episode, Will. I’ll be fine.” You stressed.
“Dr Halstead, we need you in Treatment 5.” Maggie popped her head in and Will nodded.
He looked back at you. “I’ll be fine. Go save lives.” You told your brother.
Will gave you another glance before nodding, reaching forward to give you a gentle pat on your head.
You watched as your older brother ran across the emergency department and into the opposite treatment room.
---
You pushed open the door to your apartment, heading straight for the kitchen to pour yourself a glass of water before swallowing the medication that you had gotten from your earlier trip to Med. You had barely convinced Will to let you take a cab home by yourself.
In the safety of your apartment, finally alone, you sank to the floor, resting the back of your head against the counter, feeling the cold from the tiles seep into the back of your head. You closed your eyes as it hit you, everything from the past few months, always looking over your shoulder, constantly being on the lookout, everything, and you dissolved into tears, bringing your hands up to your face as you sobbed.
You didn’t even hear the sound of keys and the main door opening until Jay’s voice pierced through your consciousness.
“Y/N? Y/N, what’s wrong?”
But you couldn’t stop now, you just kept shaking your head as the sobs left your body.
“Okay, okay, it’s okay, come here.” Jay soothed, wrapping his arms around you and cradling your head gently as you sobbed into his shoulder. “Okay, let it out. It’s okay, you’re okay.” Jay kept repeating.
You didn’t know Will had even entered the apartment until you felt a second pair of arms encircle your shaking form without saying anything.
You don’t know how long you were on the ground, your body tucked tightly between your two brothers, your favourite people in the world. When your sobs finally subsided, Jay was the first to move, pulling away gently to look at you.
Now you were embarrassed and you didn’t raise your head.
“Hey.” Jay called, forcing you to look up at him.
“Okay come on, let’s get you up first.” Will spoke, gently pulling you up, his eyes flicking to the medication on the counter.
You didn’t say anything but let them guide you to the couch. Jay plopped himself onto the floor, eyes still on you, while Will sat next to you, one hand on your back.
“What’s going on?” Will asked, his voice warm.
You remained silent. Jay put his hand on your knee and you jerked it away instinctively before you looked back at him. Jay froze before sitting up straighter. “Y/N, it’s us. Come on.” He urged, his green eyes holding a look of worry now.
“It’s nothing.” You mumbled.
Will sighed. “Okay, that’s enough. You don’t think we’ve noticed?”
You dragged your eyes back up to Will at the sound of his strained voice, expecting to see that look he had when he was pissed but instead you were met with his worried gaze. “Come on, let us in.” Will said.
Jay pushed himself further upright. “Hey.” You looked back at Jay now. “You remember, when I was having a tough time? Nightmares, PTSD, bad cases, all that crap? You barged in and wouldn’t let me reject your help.”
“Yeah, and when I catch a tough day at the hospital, or even when I was having a tough time with Natalie? You barely left my side.” Will chipped in.
Jay sighed, “For once in your life, it’s okay to get help. We’re your brothers, that’s what we’re here for.”
Your lower lip trembled as you looked down. “Pop was right. I’m useless.”
“Hey, Y/N Halstead, you look at me.” Jay snapped, and you raised your head again to look at him. “Pop had no idea what he was talking about. He used to go off on Will and me all the time too, remember?”
Your eyes flicked from Will to Jay. Will nodded, “Come on, he thought my medical degree was useless. Pop just… said things he didn’t mean, you know that.”
You remained silent.
“Now, spill.” Jay stressed as Will gave him a pointed look.
“Y/N, what’s going on?” Will asked, gentler this time.
At your hesitation, Jay pushed himself off the ground and sat next to you on the couch. “It’s not weak to ask for help. Isn’t that what you told me? For three days straight, mind.”
“It’s my boss.” You finally whispered, your voice cutting through the silence as you found yourself spilling everything out. If there was anyone you could trust in this world, it was Will and Jay – your rocks. They might be idiots and sometimes overprotective but they were as solid as they came and you wouldn’t trade them for anyone in the world.
You didn’t go into the details but you could feel Jay tense up next to you. “Jay.” You put your hand on his arm. “Don’t.”
“I will kill him. I swear to God…” Jay growled but you just shook your head.
“Jay. No scene, okay?” You whispered.
Will put his arm around your shoulder. “You should have come to us. You always take on the weight of the world. My problems, Jay’s problems, but you won’t let us share yours. That’s a little unfair, don’t you think, sis?”
You didn’t respond but scooted closer, laying your head against Will’s shoulder and closing your eyes.
Jay moved closer to you, squashing you in between them. “We’ll work this out, okay? I’ll kill him with my bare hands if I have to.”
You just smiled and reached out for Jay’s hand. “Hey, no murder, Detective.”
Jay finally cracked a smile before leaning forward and kissing you on your temple. “I’m your big brother, I can do whatever I want.”
You rolled your eyes.
“Thanks guys, seriously.” You whispered.
Jay flicked you on your head. “Hey!” You protested, sitting up now. “What was that for!”
“I told you. That’s what we’re here for. You’re our little sister, it’s our job to protect you.” Jay retorted.
Will let out a small laugh. “Look, let’s let Jay look into him alright? In the meantime, if he so much as glances your way you go right to HR, you hear me?”
You hesitated. “Whatever it is, he’s a dirtbag, and if there is fallout, we’ll deal with it. But no more running and no more hiding.” Will continued.
“Fine.” You breathed.
“And I’m taking you to your office tomorrow.” Jay said.
You raised an eyebrow, “Seriously?”
“Never been more serious in my life.” Jay looked back at you. “Look, I promise not to freak out on him, just let me walk you in to your desk so he knows your brother is a detective.”
You looked at Will for help but Will just shrugged. “Don’t look at me, I might break his hands off if I see him.”
You smiled. “Dorks.”
But you knew that now, even if the whole world came at you, everything would be alright. You finally felt like yourself for the first time in months.

Hello!! After seeing what you wrote about xiaoven fics I went to see what things you usually write and omg, your archon Venti headcanons????? I am absolutely in love. So if it isn't annoying, could you talk about xiaoven or Venti or Xiao or whatever ship or character you like? I don't care what you are going to say, I just want to know more about your thoughts ^^
I- is this... bestie, this is essentially a free ramble pass- kerujsgheskdfug. Trust me when I say that in no way is this, and in no way will it ever be annoying in the slightest- i literally- lets just say rambling off thoughts is kind of my specialty, especially when provided a topic to branch off of because otherwise I'm just- really indecisive about it so- iujskdh yeah- 100% definitely down to talk about Venti, Xiao, and/or Xiaoven XD. Also, yes- it may have been awhile since i last posted one(cuz again, indecisive about which direction to take part 5), but the Archon War Era Venti headcanons are still without a doubt my favorite posts I've made. It's just such an interesting topic with such endless potential that so few people actually think about or consider or even realize is there, so i always just get really psyched whenever i see someone interact with them lol.
.... this ended up being a bit of a mess: warning in advance
Anyway! onto the actual content!
- You see the thing about Xiaoven is that there's a lot of different ways that it could end up working out, and just personally my favorite way of portraying Xiaoven in my mind is as an unlabeled relationship because if anyone in genshin would give off that vibe its these two. And a number of other reasons.
- Firstly, I heavily headcanon Venti as being an aroace polyplatonic or perhaps heavily demiromantic. However, regardless of this I just don't think that Venti is really the kind of person to worry about how he should label his feelings, thinking it's silly to try to put them in one box or the other, especially with feelings and emotions being as fluid as they are in general. Plus it fits his whole God of Freedom vibe. I just- dont think he's the biggest fan of labels or social categorization in general.
- And secondly on the hand of Xiao... his defense mechanisms are very much ingrained in his personality. It's probably hard enough for him to not go into fight or flight(the answer is fight) at the slightest affection at first, at the slightest feeling of vulnerability. Even further down the line, with his fierce dedication to Liyue, I cant help but get the vibe that the moment he recognized that he was falling for Venti he would begin avoiding him, not only to avoid distraction from his duty, but to avoid corrupting him or losing him in general like he has with like basically every other person he gets close with(even believing that the cycle had repeated once more when he first heard of Morax's death)... now imagine Venti tryna slap a label on their relationship and tell me Xiao would have a positive reaction.
- The thing with Xiaoven.... honestly, i feel like theres more ways that it can go wrong than it can go right, but if they do manage to make their relationship work out, it's just simply beautiful in all terms of the word.
- Lets talk about killing. - During the Archon War, both were forced to kill a large number of people and gods alike- Venti out of a need to remain alive to protect Mondstadt, it's freedom, and the nameless bard's legacy by extent- and Xiao out of servitude to the god that was once his master
..... actually- break here- ive talked a lot about Venti on this blog but I havent actually spoken about Xiao all that much- so i should probably do that a bit first... do note though that my characterization of Xiao is pretty flexible actually- this is just- the possible characterization of him that i tend to favor as being the most- uh- "realistically complex"
-
Theres a line I saw this one time in a certain story: "He is a trained weapon. That's what he is, was, and always will be. You cannot change that so stop trying." And i just- think its a really interesting concept- that applies pretty well to Xiao now that i actually think about it. - the concept behind it is this: After spending more than a vast majority of his life killing or otherwise in battle, it's become a part of who he is, a normalcy that after centuries and centuries would be near impossible to get rid of or reverse, and even if it was possible, with his karmic debt constantly eating away at him its unlikely he has enough time left for that to happen. - it sounds like a cruel thing to say about him- but in context it's actually pretty layered and i think about it a lot. It's not as much a "he's a killer lol, that his whole personality" its more of a "The centuries of trauma he experienced have conditioned him into a constantly alert and battle ready mindset while also shaping his dehumanizing inferior-in-worth-but-superior-in-capability view of himself that would have likely been necessary to get through those time, and at this point he's been under that conditioning for long enough that it's essentially ingrained itself in his personality."
- the main idea is- it's a part of who he is, that needs to be accepted as who he is because its not something that he can just up and change. It's not all he is of course but his constant battle mode, as though always waiting to be ambushed or to be granted a new target to eradicate.
a couple character story quotes:
-"His past of service under the evil god had rid Xiao of his innocence and gentleness. All that remained within him was the means to kill and the weight of his sins. The only way he could be of service to mortals was in combat." -"Xiao does not feel any hatred. Having lived for over two thousand years, no single karmic debt constitutes anything more than a fleeting memory. No grudge can last a thousand years; nor is any debt so great that it cannot be paid off in this time. Xiao has spent many long years alone. But his battles have never been in vain." -"where did Xiao have to return to? He was merely leaving the battlefield." -"since Xiao wages a constant war against dark forces powerful enough to devour Liyue in its entirety, any bystanders who witness him in the heat of battle are likely to end up as collateral damage." -"The war he fights can never be won, and will never come to an end." -"Because ultimately, the one with whom Xiao wrestles is himself."
i feel like at some point this very nearly did consume his whole personality, almost turning him into nothing more than a being of slaughter under Morax's control, devoid of any "humanity" at all, consumed and corrupted by his karmic debt like his fellow yakshas before him. - until he experienced a moment of clarity- a song in the wind, the peaceful melody of a dihua flute. - and pulled back from the border of something he wouldnt have been able to return from, there a was a shift in his mind- a concept grown unfamiliar enough with time that it took him a great time to identify what it was; a curiosity. Something that there was no place for on the battlefield, something that by all means should have been completely useless to Xiao, and yet he held onto that curiosity, slowly regaining over time, a sense of who he was and who he could choose to be with each song that the wind chose to carry towards him every once in a blue moon.
and eventually that curiousity turned to longing. Longing "for a day to come when he will wear the mask and dance — not to conquer demons, but to the tune of that flute amid a sea of flowers"
...... uh- heh- if you couldn’t tell already i have a tendency to make my characterizations/analyses of characters more serious that i probably should.
to summarize: Xiao is constantly toeing the line between his ingrained nature and his humanity- almost as though still trying to decide how much of that humanity he deserves to have, how much he is allowed to have, and how much is safe to have.
^looking back after writing this, i think the best way to explain it is that this is the view that i keep in mind/the lense that i tend to most enjoy looking through and refering back to while examining and/or analyzing his character, actions, story, lines, and overall personality.
idk- i kinda got off track but i just think its a really interesting interpretation to think about because it has some really interesting implications ig- it’s not the full extent of how i view him of course, but i kinda got ahead of myself and its long enough as is so ill just elaborate as i go- Lol i actually have in progress playlists for both him and venti and just- vibes- i could ramble about the playlists alone for hours explaining everything... It’s probably a problem- uh- ill keep going now lol.
anyways! stepping off the angst path for a brief break! Brought to you by their lines in the snow: both waiting for it to get thick enough, Venti for the purpose of a snowball fight and Xiao for the purpose of a tasty and nutritious breakfast.
but its actually something of note that Xiao doesnt actually need to eat so anything he does eat is usually out of obligation or enjoyment- so like.... snow.... like i dont blame him, but of all things- an adeptus who refuses to eat basically anything but almond tofu looks at the freezing-cold-floor-water that yeeted itself from above and decided at some point- damn- that seems more edible than basically ever single actually edible thing ever.... im gonna eat it- like- im glad if eating snow makes him happy but- at the same time...
He probably convinces Venti to eat snow too though and Venti wouldnt even resist I mean he’s wind and has probably consumed worse things in his time so- 2 anemo cryptids with glowing tattoos sitting in Dragonspine monching snow in the dead of night is an amusing thought to me.
- kay, now back to more serious-toned thoughts
One of the things about the ship that i really like is the different contradicting parallels between them:
A lot of how i view Xiao’s character is someone formed largely by the things he cant control and who was forced to accept that accepted that and learned to thrive in it as much as he can.  Venti on the other hand is surrounded by things he cant control and is ever adapting to control as much as he can while embracing whatever he cant as being part of the unpredictability of the world, seeing beauty in it.
both of them have lost people and do what they do to honor their memory: Xiao continues to do what the Yakshas once did And Venti chooses to do what his friend couldn’t
Xiao’s power coming from himself  and Venti’s from others And both seem to appear to use their power for their own gain while truly helping others behind the scenes
both have killed a lot of people during the archon war Xiao views it as another necessary event out of his control and Venti would likely view it as a tragedy he chose to enact himself
and this is where we meet out balance
Xiao- contrary to how i think a lot of people view him as thinking of himself as a monster- seems canonically to have accepted this as part of his duty, as long as those he killed are not mortals. I dont think he enjoys it no- but someone has to do it and he’s just accepted that its a part of his duty Venti on the other hand-
See the beauty of the ship- as someone with an angst-centric mind- is this- these are two of the most traumatized mfers in the game
Xiao is by far the one who needs the most help and who can serve to benefit most from the ship- but he is nowhere near self aware enough to recognize that there’s anything wrong or unhealthy about his mindset in the slightest-
whereas you have the contrast with Venti who sorted through most of his trauma with the nameless bard alone during the archon war and while the result appears more healthy- is still really not- but he’s not self aware of that either because i mean- who’s going to tell him? nobody even knows.
however- venti is aware enough to notice flaws in Xiao’s mindset and “Venti” enough to want to help them through it-
Xiao- while not aware enough to recognize the flaws in Venti’s mindset, can recognize where it contrasts with his own, and is blunt enough to point it out- and then it’s out there to be mulled over-
they’re so similar and yet so different and a feel just conversing between the two of them, being in each others precense, just being exposed to two mindsets that are so very different could do both of them a whole lot of good.
GEEE THAT BIT OF RAMBLING HAD LITTLE TO NO DIRECTION AT ALL- LET ME-- LET ME MAKE THIS START MAKING SENSE- WITH... DYNAMICS OR SOMETHING
I don’t think Xiao needs to sleep really- and i dont think that sleeping would do anything except make him uneasy at first- he’d probably just get nightmares after all he’s been through- but with Venti he would soon learn that it doesn’t have to be that way, lulled into the first peaceful sleep he’s had in... as long as he can remember.
anywho back to not making sense cuz im fickle and i think most questions about ships are best displayed through character interactions so like- a possible exchange thats cliche but cliches exist for a reason
Xiao: Why do you try so hard to help me, it isn’t easy. I know that much Venti, with the most adoring expression: Because you’re worth it, obviously Xiao: But surely there are others more deserving of- Venti: No Xiao, everyone is just as deserving as the next person, you included Xiao: Then why me above others? Venti: ehe, cuz ur my warrior of course [O//////O oh shit, hes right] Xiao: My contract is with Morax alone [gay panic but in broody yaksha]
it’s kinda difficult cuz neither of them really address their feelings.  I mean Venti does but he does it very indirectly and its rare that he ever does it with like- genuine directness- even spilling his backstory was in the form of a song- and told in the third person- so a lot of their interactions would often have some deeper meaning, especially with Venti being the bard he is.
I come up with a lot of- errant thoughts about Xiaoven- but this is making me realize that a true analysis of their ship is rather difficult because it just encompasses so many dynamics so its hard to settle on just one and not go rambling about who knows what bouncing from one end of the ship to the other-  Because you truly can and thats the beauty of it
within one moment you can be having a heartfelt conversation about the archon war the impact of lost friends and times past, and the next moment Venti is trying to forcefeed Xiao an apple while Xiao screams about disrespecting the adepti and its just- so lovely
so while they have picnics with nothing but apples, dandelion wine, and almond tofu they can sit down and talk about the dreams Xiao once devoured, and the dandelion wine and apple cider that the first Ragnvindir invented from the plants that never could have grown in Old Mond. The foods that tasted of familiarity, or of the grilled ticker fish Pervases always used to eat, foods that tasted of friends and frankly family that had since passed, glaze lilies and cecilias and qingxin flowers scattered in the surroundings and woven into Xiao’s neat braids and Venti’s now messy ones, rebraided by the steady and inexperienced hands of one unused to gentle action.
and then of course Venti steals Xiao’s tofu once the mood becomes too grim and replaces it with a bottle of wine that Xiao refers to as “vile poison,” a remark that fatally wounds Venti as he collapses on the floor, proclaiming how he can only be healed by a Yaksha’s kiss. Xiao ignores this of course and simply takes back his tofu with a slight smile on his face, but as Venti persists he soundlessly places a kiss on his own palm before intertwining their fingers and pulling him back up from where he was dramatically sprawled on the floor, grumbling about how such action was “unbecoming of an archon.” A sign of affection only Xiao would ever know about. But Venti is literally wind and I hc his senses work differently anyways so he definitely knows- plus Xiao’s face is red as the blood of his enemies and the way he is pointedly not looking at Venti at all really speaks volumes anyways.
-Venti playing epic battle music whenever Xiao goes into fights in what looks like a ridiculously extra performance to anyone else but is actually doing wonders to keep Xiao’s karma at bay
-Venti preaches the practice of “kissing wounds better” and Xiao is unfamiliar with this medical treatment but views it as unnecessary regardless because adepti have accelerated healing, doesn’t mean he’s going to stop him though.
-Messages whispered on the wind
-Venti’s 1000 year sleep- an accident, not a fun time for the yaksha, and not a fun time for Venti once he woke up. Venti is actually more afraid of restful sleep than Xiao is, hence the sleeping in trees thing, but when Xiao is there, he can sleep restfully with faith that Xiao wont let another millennia slip through his fingertips.
- Xiao tends to make excuses when doing things that aren’t necessary to his duty, like in his birthday voice line “Have this, it’s a butterfly i made from leaves... Okay. Take it. It’s an adepti amulet -- it staves off evil” because at the current point in his progress it helps him to feel like he’s allowed to do these things. Not wanting to put him off from progress, Venti never comments on his excuse but never fails to whisper a quick reminder of how proud he is of how far Xiao had come.
- Xiao’s karma saddens Venti greatly- not only because of how it effects Xiao but also because its a reminder that as much as Venti tries to honor the memory of those he’s killed, there will always be those who resent him for it, and when he took the option of living away from them, he truly can’t blame them. - And when he gets too wrapped up in thoughts, whether around this topic or similar ones or otherwise, eventually, he’ll hear the sound of a flute on the wind. It’s not divine by any means, but as his own wind connects him to the source, he gets the sentiment all the same. “What impact does one individual’s remaining wrath have on the present. You have done much to help the living in the present” the unspoken idea that Xiao has included himself in that statement, because now, with Venti’s help he’s beginning to learn just how to experience living for himself.
- Venti’s form and Xiao’s mask are off limit topics though because if either mentions it the other will counter with the opposite and the mood will turn immediately bitter at the idea that both know that what they’re doing is destructive but neither are willing to change
- Venti who has different tells for negative feelings than most people because as much as he likes to pretend it is- this form isnt his, and Xiao who is able to identify those
- many fanfics and headcanons have Venti recognizing when Xiao is uncomfortable and getting him out of those situations. I see that and I love it but i raise you: - Venti taking Xiao to Mondstadt, careful that he doesn’t get to the point that he’s uncomfortable. And nothing goes wrong exactly, but Xiao notices the the way Venti’s cape is blowing in the wind, the way he’s holding his weight, barely on his feet so much as floating on the wind, connected with the ground only for the sake of appearance, all the while he looks just as happy go lucky as ever. And without a word, he grabs his hand and teleports them both out of Mondstadt.  - turns out it was just a slight thing that reminded him of the archon war (cuz i will die on the hill of him having more tragic backstory than just Decarabian), and he of course gives a sincere if not flustered thanks to Xiao, because he’s really not used to people noticing.
- Venti trying to vent sneakily through fictional stories and Xiao is just like “Didn’t that basically happen to you” and Venti is just like “<_< shit”
- Venti once said affectionally that he wished he had met Xiao sooner and Xiao immediately and seriously shot it down by saying “If you had, I would have been forced to kill you” and both of them now stay up at night wondering who would have won that fight, not sure which result would have hurt more. (because honestly I have no idea who would win in that fight and that terrifies me- I like to think it would have been one of those legends that end with “and the fight persists to this day” or something along those lines)
- “How long have you been together?” “Adepti have no need for-” “1000+ years T^T how dare you deny our love” “O///O our...? ...useless”
- its disney- let me explain- i have this- i have this headcanon inspired by watching too many animatics- - so venti has a human form that isnt his- which he would have had to get used to moving in- and he’s a bard- - uh- anyway- as a third degree black belt in mixed martial arts, i can speak as an authority on this(not really an authority since i havent gone since quarantine but lets pretend). We have a thing referred to as the big three(most things do), and those things are martial arts, gymnastics, and dance. The idea is that they reflect really well off of each other and the best in any one category are good in all three. Timing, balance, form, discipline, technique, hand-eye coordination, grace, ease of motion, they all play a part- anyway-
- Venti taking Xiao’s prowess in martial arts and acrobatics and teaching him how to dance, and as someone who’s extremely skilled in the first two, the third comes easy to him, almost naturally. And it’s delicate and beautiful and lovely and it isn’t hurting anyone. And Venti points all these things out and more and despite how much Xiao insists that he feels ridiculous he truly does enjoy it and it goes a long way towards helping him form more healthy views of himself and his worth.  - Verr Goldett walked in on him once and made a joke about performing at the inn. unfortunately Venti was there and agreed on Xiao’s behalf before he could protest and- and it wasn’t as bad as Xiao thought it would be... he still wouldn’t do it again though without reason, but with good enough reasoning he could probably be convinced.
- anyways point is he likes dancing to Venti’s songs and i just think that’s really cute - just picture the idea that all the animatics you see actually have the potential to be canon- ugh
- venti tries holding something out of Xiao’s reach since he’s taller and Xiao just fucking teleports
- both need their space but when they dont, all they have to do is speak the other’s name and they’ll be there.
- and because i just had to.... love languages
- lets start with Xiao- i don’t think he’d view acts of service or quailty time as a love language tbh, and he blunt but really bad with words so affirmation is out, leaving gift giving and physical touch. However, he seems to view most material things as meaningless so- - Xiao who’s love language is in his fleeting touches, something he’s only recently grown comfortable with because of Venti, and now is giving back, which he knows he doesn’t have to do, but that he want’s to, though he’ll still continue to make excuses for each one. “you were shivering” “The inn is high up, you could have fallen..... I said what I said, you’d question an adeptus?”
- and as easy as it is to say words of affirmation for Venti- he does that for everyone- i want to say his is actually acts of service - its the acts of service that let him see just how much Xiao has progressed afterall, from teaching him to dance, to playing another song on the flute, to supplying him with the almond tofu he seems to enjoy so much. Every little thing he does helps Xiao to grow and he couldn’t be happier about that.
-
- of course most of my headcanons for the ship do take place latter into the relationship because- y’know the less serious unhealthy vibes allow for greater range of thought, but i do still love to think about the serious implications so i kinda hopped back and forth. So sorry about how messy it is btw, i kinda- got carried away- it kinda got some kind of structure near the end tho so- maybe it’s okay. anyway- back to... lol something, we’ll see where thought forests lead.

Y/n looking at Jojos as competitions/rivals (hcs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: You consider the Jojos a rival, and competition when it gets to grades and all, they never did anything to you but you’re just generally annoyed at them because you think they’re better than you and you’re annoyed that they are better than you, you’re not jealous just annoyed that they exceeded you. (basically enemies to lover for short) Inspiration: Based on real life thoughts with a person honestly lmaO I really think they are a compeition(they don’t know) but in the end it’s just a friendly thing. Disclaimers: Underage smoking (Just because this action is being done here it doesn’t mean you should do it too, for both my adult and teen audiences i rlly don’t recommend this and just because I used it in this fic doesn’t mean you should do it as well) , and  mentions of violence, or implied violence, drugs are also mentioned( i repeat i do not encourage these behaviours in real life) Header: Orange Other writings: Masterlist/Taglist Requests/questions: Ask/Request Box
Jojos as your Rivals
Jonathan Joestar
✧ God. To you he was really annoying, teachers praised him and he was a top student in the rankings and a teacher’s pet, you’d never see him complain, cry, or anything at all.
✧ Of course he was the class president and a student council so it annoyed you more since he was kind of like a mary sue in your eyes, the fact that he got good grades and doesn’t seem to have a hard time in the things he does really annoy you.
✧ You were in the top 3 top students except you’re in 3rd place and you could never beat Jonathan, moreover he’s also an athlete and you were bothered that girls were practically drooling to him. But despite this you’ll never do anything to seek revenge, you won’t embarrass him or frame him because you still have morals.
✧ Though you were just grumpy and passive agressive to him sometimes whenever the teacher asks him to help you, you really didn’t like receiving help from him because for you, you think that’s a sign of weakness.
✧ Of course you get parterned up with him a big project that was considered as your examination and you hated it. You treated it more of a individual work, but after knowing him a bit from that project you kinda like how he acted, polite, kind and patient.
✧ Everytime he sees you struggle and you decline for help he’ll just go behind you or besides you and either guide your hands to fix it or he’ll fix it himself and he’ll just smile afterwards, it was really cute and you’ll mentally slap yourself for liking him, were you forgetting he was rival?
✧ He’ll slowly consider you as a friend and he would really really feel guilty for assuming that you were a rude person base on you act towards him but he eventually thinks that you’re a kind person in the inside but a bit stubborn and he finds that cute.
✧ If it’s a love story you and him will secretly date and its not obvious to the world that you two are dating, you were never touchy with him in public, you two still acted the same honestly, a bit stubborness coming from you and stubborness from Jonathan because he’s really willing to help you with everything, eitherway you two only have playful fights and a few REAl arguments here an there but you two eventually make up again a few days later.
✧ If it’s a platonic relationship you two would be the bestest of friends and you two would have playful arguments and some people would literally ship you two because of your friendship.
 Joseph Joestar
✧ This guy was intelligent but lazy and yet he still gets 1st place in the class as a top student with A+ grades, and you found it also annoying that he was naturally talented and effortlessly got them, you sometimes wonder if he cheats.
✧ And because you think he cheats you go out of your way to site his essays and public works to see if he uses references or anything, but no this guy is just naturally talented and you felt like he didn’t deserve especially with his laid off attitude.
✧ Now you don’t show your passive aggressive side to him because you know better not to make him think that you’re literally angry at him, for you he’s just a competition and another boss level to defeat, it’s not personal just a fun thing you do so you don’t take out your anger out on him.
✧ He is also an athlete, of course the Joestar bloodline and legacy literally revolves around the sports they take, so it was no surprise, you on the other hand is also an athlete and you would most likely take the competition seriously whenever there’s a boys vs girls basketball game, you were the MVP let’s just say, sports was like your whole life.
✧ Of course there’s an annual event that the high school hosts where as every student will be competing against each other, the remaining 4 players will be the ones set out to compete to another sports festival in a different school. They will choose 4 players per sport.
✧ Of course you chose to marathon since you were honestly swift and that was more on your main sport, running. And it was Joseph’s as well and you two had to compete with each other among other students, he’ll say something cocky to you that is enough to motivate you to defeat him.
✧ Eventually you and Joseph were one of the 4 people chosen to compete in another school, and though it took awhile for you two to agree on things you two won the tournament with teamwork and ever since then your friend consists of constant and non stop teasing and playful banters.
✧ “What do you mean? I clearly made our team win!” he’d say and you’d just roll your eyes at his cockiness. Though you’d retort with something cocky as well.
Jotaro Kujo
✧ You honestly don’t know why this guy was even a top student he often gets into fights and the teachers just shrug it off,  you find it annoying he gets to answer everything before you and finish quizzes before you and you get so pissed and can’t understand why is he quick and he doesn’t seem like a type to review.
✧ He’s pissed at every fangirl he has and he is pissed at you sometimes as well because you try avoiding him, yeah he’s aware of your competitiveness and he doesn’t really care that much.
✧ But you do so you basically you’re like legit pissed at him and you think that he also doesn’t deserve his intelligence since he’s just wasting it away by smoking cigarettes at the back of the school and fighting people it was honestly annoying and you wish you had his intelligence at the same time.
✧ Unlike the others maybe in this one you’re being constantly pressured by high grades so you started smoking as well to relieve your stress, you’d somberly sulk at the back of the school as well smoking your problems away it made you feel calm for some reason.   ✧ He sees you there and mumbles a “Tch” while he adjusts his cap and walk near you and light up his cigarette and doesn’t say a word, he doesn’t honestly care what you were doing, anyone was allowed to do anything they want to do so he left you there.  ✧ Honestly he started getting concerned of you when you were often doing it, even he knew that too much is too much. “ That’s enough” he’ll say and take your cigarette pack away, “Touche” you’ll just roll your eyes and walk away. He’d always stop you from smoking, you were getting addicted honestly and it’s not helping since every minute you were getting stressed out.  ✧ When you’re not listening to him he’ll agressively tell you to “cut it off bitch.” or something along those lines, and you didn’t really know he was a person who hid his feelings so you snapped and scolded him that you were a mess because of him  and took out all of your anger and left honestly.  ✧ He couldn’t care less what you said about him and tried to accompany you at the back of the school or in the rooftops everytime it’s break or the end of classes, he didn’t speak that much but he was a good listener and constantly listened to your problems, eventually this is a routine and you treasured every second of it.  ✧ It became a thing that you two basically  sit on the rooftop talking to each other, from then on he’d accompany you outside of school as well and you two would hangout and it would be nice quiet moments when he’s around, he’s also a very protective friendship. Josuke Higashikata  ✧ This guy really doesn’t care about his grades and yet he gets high score it was also annoying that teachers adore him, and that every girl adores him as well. Unfortunately you two were partners for a spelling Bee. Only professors were allowed to choose who participates, and though Josuke might not be accurate with his english pronounciations and spellings he still had high grades and it annoyed you that he got to participate his weak subjects just because he has high grades.  ✧ Honestly he’d hate it as well and would just play games all day long instead of studying or anything, and during the spelling bee he didn’t help at all and you were pissed at him. Even though you were softly and passive agressively scolding him he didn’t get mad back and just said a “Okay okay! I’m sorry.” he’ll apologize and try to study but he’ll get distracted.  ✧ Teachers still continued to praise him and gave no praise to you at all even though you carried your partner to the finish line, that’s why you hated Josuke, he was loved by everyone and you never understood why, was it his personality? Smarts? What was it?   ✧ From that then you’ll break into his house with no permission and catch him playing video games. You’ll scold him to study the words and act like a strict teacher towards him, he dozed off a lot and was laid back and distracted, yet he was still able to answer some of them.  ✧ This is why you didn’t like him he was too laid back and didn’t seem to take things seriously, because of this you suggested a break and he went back t o playing his video games and getting frustrated, and even though you were tight while teaching him he was kind enough to still offer you to play with him. You were going to decline but you still accepted it.  ✧ This is where you saw his true personality, he talked about a lot of things and you two ended up having fun as you two play, you didn’t mind this moment and you’d want it to treasure it forever honestly. You brought up your personality as well to him, you started showing your true colors and he really liked the fact that you weren’t an overbearing person at all.  ✧ ever since then you two manage to win the competitions and manage to play at the same time. You two became the bestest friends which was unexpected since you considered him as a rival, though you’re still annoyed because everytime you ask him to teach you he’ll teach really badly and you wouldn’t understand anything from him. Giorno Giovanna   ✧ This guy was a quiet yet smart type, he often sits at the back of the class dazing off the window and yet still able to answer questions of the teacher even when not paying attention.   ✧ Though you compete with him you know not to mess with him honestly, though a lot of really negative rumours constantly spread about him. Like his family problem and things like that so you pity him at some times.  ✧ Girls adore him, something about the Joestars getting fangirls annoys you a lot. They baby him, and even though sometimes he gets annoyed and straightforwadly tells them to go away sometimes he’d entertain them and be kind. Teachers always saw him as a role model student it makes you barf.  ✧He’ll also probably hangout with his school gang, nobody knows what this gang does honestly, the teachers just leave him be just because they want to just leave him be and they’re too naive; thinking that it’s just a normal innocent gang where it’s a group of kids hanging out.  ✧ You caught up his ‘gang’ beating up someone and since you were a witness he saw you as a immediate threat(or so you though) and this quiet kid did a whole 180 with his personality and looked at you menacingly.  ✧ You don’t know how to approach him that you won’t tell anyone you’ve witnessed and always ran away everytime he approaches you or everytime his gang approaches you. Now your rivalary and competiting against grades is now ruined because this guy could always beat you anyday when it gets to physical fights, or so you thought.  ✧ You always ate lunch at the rooftop so he kind of took this opportunity to calmly sit besides you and talk to you about what you saw, he just wanted to give you context so that you wouldn’t get the wrong idea. Apparently that guy was an adult selling drugs to a bunch of graduating elementary kids.  ✧ You were relieved he wasn’t gonna beat you up and put you in the sewers, you took this time to also talk to him to actually see he was a nice guy, a gentle man and that you thought he was a cocky student because you always assumed him like that, not only that but you assumed him being a playboy as well since he gets so much attention.  ✧ You confess all of this to him and he let’s out a quick chuckle and you just laugh as you confess all of your thoughts and competitiveness against him, he was a good listenered actually, and didn’t take it really personally, he knew deep inside that you were a good person even though before you used to give him a scary glare when you two didn’t talk yet.  ✧ From that day on you start catching up to him in the hallways and talk and all his fangirls would practically hate you and give you glares as you two are having a good time.  ✧ He’ll make sure you’re out of his school gang businesses and arguments with other gangs, he may not say or sometimes express it but he always cares for you and tries to be supportive in littliest ways such as listening and remembering to every detail you tell him.  ✧ you’d still playfully compete with him and if he wins you’re okay with it unlike before
