#Curator tag

question, does the curator exist in tsp.exe? or did she get obliterated by thierry or smth /silly
would if he could, if he knew about her...
BUT YES INDEED! rarely alluded to & shown off anywhere but here, but she DOES indeed exist, & is virtually the silent " higher-up observee " of the game next to Nobody ( settings person );
i fully planned on showing her off here when i had something of a better, colored reference to go off of here, but- ah well. your query is as good an excuse as any!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BEHOLD! thierry's official curator ( who, by this point, could use some design tweaks because it's actually been a good while since her design was conjured but you get the idea )!
basically -- the curator is an incorporeal, " narrator " entity in the same vein as thierry, who just so happened to get trapped within the game as thierry was laying down the foundation, & by this point, can't escape, & has given up any attempt at it.
for one reason or another, perhaps because she's physically confined to the Museum - more of a scrapped concept for an after-the-game asset archive walkthrough that's been forgotten by thierry at this point, he can't detect her presence & he has no idea she's even in there. the only person who DOES, is rosemary. & arguably nobody.
but from there, does she watch over the game & all that happens within it, having absolutely 0 control of it, but almost 100% awareness of everything that goes on under its roof - unlike thierry, & considering what she's had to witness thus far, she's appalled.
rather than trying to convince the hypothetical " player " to quit the game to save the narrator & stanley, curie's instead trying to convince rosemary to do ANYTHING else than let him walk all over her, or do anything to preserve herself. but rosemary doesn't listen.
& the curator can't do anything more than offer her some outside hospitality & an escape when she wants it. so she remains to watch over them both.
THANK YOU FOR ASKING! FINALLY I can unleash her unto the world.

Oh no, you found a post where someone is saying they think sex/romance is gross! Whatever shall you do?
ignore it. literally ignore it. I'm 100% serious just fucking ignore it. it literally is not a personal attack on you. do not take it as a personal attack. scroll past it, hell block if you really need to, but you do not need to respond. it is not about you buddy - not everything is about you. close your eyes and move on buddy it's that easy. literally it is not systematically oppressing you for someone to say "Ew sex" or "Ew romance". just walk away pal.

I’m seeing a weird uptick in people commenting nasty stuff on people’s non-cat/dog pet stuff again and not so gentle reminder:
Your phobia or dislike of certain animals does not give you the right to harass and bully people who love and share them.
Use the blacklist tag like a normal human being, and leave people who love rats or snakes or bugs etc. the fuck alone.

Pre-emptively blocking people is good for everyone.
Seriously. The amount of times I see people whining or laughing about being blocked when they 'haven't even done anything' just tells me that not many of you know its actually a really good way to properly curate your online space, and its not something to be offended over.
Blocking is a form of protection. Its also a form of mutual protection.
Especially on websites that don't offer more extensive or usable filtering, tagging and avoidance options. Twitter, for example.
Blocking isn't some personal insult. Its a method of saying; hey, we clearly shouldn't interact, so I'm gonna build this soundproof wall between us to make sure we can't.
To use The Salmon Analogy, if I run a restaurant based on salmon as the main ingredient, and you're allergic or or severely dislike salmon, me refusing to serve you isn't a personal sleight. Its me recognising that you can't or really don't want to eat salmon, and its me protecting you from an unpleasant experience and myself from you inevitably screaming at me for serving salmon.
If you are someone who enjoys 'objectionable' content, such as gore, and you stumble across an extremely anti-gore blog, its absolutely a viable option to pre-emptively block them. Maybe your paths never would've crossed, but its better to ensure they don't than potentially wind up the victim or hate or harassment.
Blocking is an absolute sure-fire way to ensure that you do not see something you do not want to. It should be used as liberally as you want to.

(No "see results" option because I find that more non-gifmakers than actual gifmakers will engage with the poll if there's an option like that. If you aren't a gifmaker, this poll is not for you.)

The fact that some people can equate an entire musical genre to just its stereotypes and never listen to it is baffling to me. Like no, metal isn't just screaming, country isn't just trucks beer and misogyny, rap isn't just sexualizing women and getting money. When will people learn to escape their comfort zone oh my god

I haven't said much about the QSMP Admin situation on Royal Archivist because I don't think every issue needs commentary from the peanut gallery, especially since most comments rarely contribute anything meaningful to the wider conversation.
However—
It's very sad seeing how hostile people are being towards each other right now. I know there are a lot of strong emotions and opinions about this issue (understandably– I've been in this situation many times as a freelancer, I Get It) but that does not excuse the behavior I've seen, nor does it excuse the hate, racism, harassment, and xenophobia.
Regardless of your opinion on how well things are being handled right now, and regardless of whether or not you want to step away from the series or continue engaging with it while trusting things will be resolved — harassing fellow fans, ex-admins or current admins, CCs, the French union, etc. doesn't help anyone.
There is NO excuse for spreading hate on behalf of anyone or anything, be it the server, Quackity, the admins, the other workers, or anyone else. This isn't the Crusades; you aren't fighting a holy war in the name of God, you're on social media fighting about a Minecraft series. Put the pitchforks down and take a break.
I'm not gonna get into my opinion on the matter (on here) further than this because like I said, peanut gallery talk and all that, but I've seen how amazing the QSMP community is, and how amazing we can be, I want our community to improve just like I want the server to improve.
Be kinder to each other, and take a break if you need to! It's important for us to be kind to ourselves too. If things are making you extremely distressed, it's better to take a step away from things.
In the wise words of FitMC: when in doubt, log the fuck out!

Which is your favorite platform? (of the ones you have accounts to post things I mean. I can't imagine it being Instagram since you don't really post there which honestly fair)
Tumblr, Twitter (X?) bluesky? Something else?
I think I'm going to have to go with tumblr, and it's not just because we're here. Twitter and Bluesky are nice and my experiences on both are overwhelmingly positive. But tumblr has an atmosphere that encourages originality, sharing your creations and talking about things in depth.

Content Filters - Your New Best Friend!
I dont think we take advantage of content filters enough. So I'm putting together a little tutorial in case anyone isn't aware of them.
Now we may all be aware of tag filters, both via tumblr saviour and also tumblrs in built tag filtration system.
But that still runs into issues as some people just dont tag their posts, and therefore some posts will still find their way to the dashboards of people that dont want to see certain content that they have blocked.
If you are in a small fandom, sometimes popular content that you arent interested in can become quite prevailent and unavoidable even if you have tags blocked. But there IS a way to avoid that content regardless of whether people are tagging their posts or not
CONTENT FILTERS.
Content filters work by blocking certain words that appear in posts. If there is a certain thing that you really want to avoid, you can just block that word or phrase and boom! You'll never have to see it and everyone will be happier for it. If you don't know where the content filters are, I can show you. On tumblr mobile go to account settings:
Tumblr media
Then scroll down to "content you see":
Tumblr media
Here you will find the filtered tags:
Tumblr media
And if you're anything like me you'll have a nice long list of blocked tags to curate your feed.
However if you just scroll down to the bottom of your blocked tags list, you'll find this:
Tumblr media
Here is where you add words you wanna block. You can block trigger words, you can block things like "blood" if thats not your jam, you can block "omegaverse" if that gives you a squick, and you can also block ship names and names of whole fandoms if you find them annoying (blocking Supernatural may help with your mental health lmao).
It can be overzealous, so its best to block phrases more than random words as those words can be used in many contexts after all (which is why its excellent for blocking fandom ships as those are usually portmanteaus that wont appear in regular language). Blocking the word "omega" may be a bit too wide a net for instance, but blocking something like "omega Dream" will work wonders and calm those buldging temple veins.
Now this is just a tumblr app tutorial but I believe the content filters are in the same place on desktop. Its not hard to find them and I strongly suggest everyone uses them.
We all want to have a peaceful pleasant fandom experience, and as always, the best way to do that is to CURATE YOUR OWN SPACE. I'm someone who loves searching in the fandom tags, so I dont rely on following/unfollowing to curate my feed. I often expose myself to things in the tags i may prefer to avoid, or maybe I follow people for some content but dont wanna see other content they reblog. Either way, the content filters protect me from triggers, things that squick me out, and content I just find annoying.
Whilst we can all ask that people tag appropriately, it is never the OPs fault if you have seen something you don't want to see. You have all the tools available to you to avoid everything you dont like. Use them.

compiled a list of some of my favorite text-based games & VNs that are specifically wlw:
another round - You play as Maddie, a woman in love with a woman named Agnes. Actually, she hates her. Actually, it's complicated. You definitely broke things off with her. And you don't regret it. At least once. Yes. At least once per day, you don't regret ending it with Agnes. Except tonight. You definitely regret it tonight.
such, such were the joys - It is the year 19xx in England. You are returning to the town of Grayling after your first year at university to meet your old school friends: Cicily Thomas, Fatima Khan, and Susheela Rajaram. As the only Indian girls at Grayling Towers, the four of you quickly became close friends, but you haven't seen each other in a year. You're not sure what has changed since then, but this is your chance to find out.
florence - Florence lies in bed, cold and still. You watch over her and wait.
perseids, or, all this will go on forever - Four trans girlfriends go on a road trip to a dark sky park, to see the perseid meteor shower.
winter - an interactive fiction about sex, trans insecurity, and a girl with a skull for a face.
butterfly soup 1 & 2 (VN) - A visual novel about gay Asian girls playing baseball and falling in love.
birdland - At night 14-year-old Bridget Leaside dreams of fantastic lands full of strange bird people. By day she's a miserable anxious summer camper, trying very hard not to think about her feelings for the mysterious girl detective in Cabin 22. And when her dream life starts bleeding into reality, things are going to get weird for her in a whole bunch of ways...
a summer's end: hong kong 1986 (VN) - Follow the story of Michelle and Sam, and how their chance meeting evolves into a deeper romantic relationship. Set in vibrant Hong Kong in the year 1986, it is an original story about love, family, and culture.
one day hike - You go on a hike in a familiar wood.
a year of springs (VN) - experience the stories of haru, erika, and manami in A YEAR OF SPRINGS, a visual novel trilogy about a trio of friends navigating their feelings of love, connection, and just wanting to belong.
pageant - Your name is Qiuyi (Karen?) Zhao, and you’ve just been signed up by your parents for a beauty pageant. You’re not ready, not even close, but you don’t have a choice. But perhaps you can make the best of it.
new year's eve, 2019 (sequel to pageant) - You are Karen Zhao, a senior in college who is home for winter break, and seeing your old high school friends for the first time in years. You are not ready, not even close, but perhaps you could make the best of it.
the revenant's lament - Way out west, in the most lonesome of reaches, strange things are afoot. Cowboys around campfires tell ghost stories and tall tales, speak of impossible, supernatural things. They say the devil walks amongst men. They say he'll grant you impossible wishes at the cost of your eternal soul. They say he can bring dead men back to life.
venus meets venus - Two women meet in a bar. This is not a love story.

🍂This user is always happy to see ao3 surpass their donation goals btw.🍂
This user is glad to see publically-funded archives of all kinds and especially those with a history of standing against censorship, especially fully volunteer-run ones with artists generously sharing their works for free, especially well organised ones that I respect the hell out of.

I don’t normally do this but please I urge everybody that sees this to sign this petition and others like it.
what is KOSA? KOSA is the Kids Online Safety Act, a bill that would increase surveillance and restrict access to information in the name of protecting children online. While this seems harmless at face value, it isn’t. it will take down so many social media sites, Tumblr, AO3, Wattpad, etc. and this is ONLY the beginning, soon it’ll also take down TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter. anything with LGBTQ or minorities that actively talk about their experiences on the site. The republican and democratic parties are to blame, it was a joint decision for the bill. And while it doesn’t specifically address LGBTQ and minorities they’ll use the bill to attack everything they don’t like by insisting that LGBTQ and minority groups are “ grooming “ the children. This is harmful in so many ways, believe it or not, websites like AO3, Wattpad, and TikTok are important to culture and growing mindsets. If you block away all these ways people can learn then people will be close minded, they’ll be split off from other people. This is what they want, this country is slowly becoming a country where people can’t be who they want or who they are
