I think one of the reasons why people think Duke is the least insane or most normal member of the batfam (aside from the just not knowing much about him) is bc hes the only bat who hasn't had beef with another member of the family I mean Duke even gets along with Jason - anyway my solution to this is that Duke should get to physically fight another member of the family and my personal pick is obviously Tim Drake

The best part about Tim is that he’s an absolute loser. He had basically no reason to be Robin aside from fanboying so hard he decided to try and parent Bruce and got trauma from it. People are still arguing over if his dad counts as abusive. He’s had like two relationships and they’re both too good for him. He manages to have the only braincell in whatever group he’s in but also never actually uses it because he’s also as much of an idiot as everyone around him. He’s still so stuck on being Robin his name is ‘Red Robin’, also the name of a fast food joint he either doesn’t know or care about because he lives under a rock. His spirit animal is probably a racoon. He regularly gets into fights with a ten year old because he has an inferiority complex and loses. He was literally bullied out of his second family by said ten year old how much more lame can you get. He’s supposed to be the most likely to turn evil but would realistically have a mental breakdown before that ever happened because nope. He’s an asshole but not even properly. He’s so pathetic I love him.

Tim Drake X Reader: Dinner
 Request: Tim x male reader . Tim bring his bf to the manner for a family dinner and crazy shit happening in that night.
Requested By: @imgayandilikeit
“You know Master Tim, you should bring your boyfriend to meet us tomorrow,” Alfred said as the whole Wayne family had sat down to eat dinner. A blanket of silence encased them broken by Dick who exclaimed, “Wait, Timmy has a boyfriend?”
Tim looked at his plate and then glared at Dick and said, “Yes, I have a boyfriend. His name is Y/n and he’s very nice.”
Cass signed from the other end We are happy for you while Stephanie slapped him on his back and exclaimed, “I knew it you had it into you to confess to him.”
Bruce, who was sitting silently at the table then said, “Why don’t you bring him over as Alfred suggested. We could meet him tomorrow.”
Damian glared and then smirked and said, “Oh yes, we have to see how much is Drake paying him to act like his beloved.”
Tim got up and screamed at him, “Oh you little-. Wait, I’ll just call him to give you your peace of mind Demon.”
Dick spoke up, “Timmy, you don’t-”
Tim glared at everyone as if daring to object and said, “No I do. Anyway, I need to ask him about the dinner.”
Tim dialled Y/n’s number, still glaring at everyone when the rising stopped. A soft voice was heard from the other side and Tim’s face softened. “Hey Timmy, you fine?”
“Yeah, thought I’d call you to ask something. You free at 8 tomorrow night?”
“Yeah, what about it?”
“Well, my family is insisting on meeting you. You okay with that?”
“Oh yes. Wait, a minute Timmy.” There were some shuffling sounds heard on the other end and then the voice rang out, “Noice, noice, noice. I’ll be there. Wayne Manor, right?”
“I’ll pick you up.”
There was laughing at the other end and then the voice said, “Dude, I know how to drive and Wayne Manor is the big, famous building. I’ll reach there.”
“You drive like a maniac.”
“No Timmy. I drive like someone who knows to live life to its fullest. We die wild.”
“Please don’t.”
“I’ll try to. See you tomorrow then. Bonne Nuit.”
“French today, huh. Well, then Bonne Nuit to you too.”
And with that, the voice was cut off and Tim said, “Well, does that satisfy you all. Now, let’s eat.” His voice did not leave any room for argument.
Cass signed You two are very cute.
Tim sighed and ran his fingers through his already messy hair and said, “Thank you.”
——————————————————
The next day was a tense affair. At sharp 8, there was a knock on the door. Tim practically skipped opening the door. There stood Y/n, in all his glory with a container in his hands.
“Hey, Timmy. I brought some of my lava cake for you guys. Hopefully, you all do like cake.”
Dick barrelled towards both of them and said, “Oh we do love cake, especially chocolate cakes. Please come in.”
Y/n handed Dick the cake who joyfully took it from his hands and flipped over the couch with the container tightly grasped in his hands.
He then walked over to Tim and said, “Hey babe. Howdy?” and then leaned over to kiss Tim on his cheeks.
Tim blushed and tried to push him away but anyone who was looking at the couple could see that he wasn’t trying very hard. After that, Y/n was approached by Cass and Stephanie.
“You dating Tim?” Cass’ broken English question was voiced out. Y/n looked confused, looked towards Tim and then looked back at Cass and nodded. Cass gave a nod of approval and before anybody could grasp what was happening, Y/n was flipped over. Tim yelled, “Cass” and rushed over to help him up but then Cass stopped him. “You hurt Tim, you get worse,” Cass said.
Y/n got up from the floor, rubbing his head and grinned at Tim, “You didn’t tell me you had such a badass sister,” and then he looked at her and said, “I’m pretty sure my accounts will be gone if I hurt Tim, but thanks for the warning. A formal hello in place. My name is Y/n. Nice to meet you, Cass, I assume.” Cass smiled happily and shook the hand which was given to him.
Then he moved to Steph and said, “Dude, nice to see you here”, and hugged her while Steph said, “Well, it was a surprise that he kept it a secret from me.”
Tim moved from his place and said, “Come, Bruce is waiting for us.” Tim then leaned over to give him a fleeting kiss on his cheeks and then moved his fingers to intertwine with Y/n’s.
The welcoming committee behind them was almost dying with how cute they both were but refrained from saying anything.
———————————————————————————————————
Dinner was a tense affair but Y/n continued to eat so it was a win for the Bat clan and Bruce awkwardly broke the silence, “So how long have you two been dating?” Y/n continued to eat but when he heard that no one was answering he looked up and saw that the question was directed to him.
“Oh, sorry. I thought you asked Tim but we’ve been dating for like 6 months now, I think.” He looked to Tim and said, “This food is delicious. When we were suffering because of our combined horrible attempts at cooking, why didn’t you tell me about this,” while gesturing towards the food on the table as if trying to capture what his words could not say.
Tim tried to answer but then Damian who was sitting beside Bruce said, “Is Drake paying you to be his significant other because all he does is sit inside and work.”
Y/n burst out laughing and said, “Oh my god. Timmy, your family is pure gold, why didn’t I meet them earlier?” Tim pouted and said, “Because I knew this was going to happen. You were going to team up with my family to bully me.”
Everyone was looking at the interaction like it was some kind of tennis match when Alfred appeared and saved Tim a lot of embarrassment before Y/n could answer Damian’s question and said, “It is nice to know that you appreciate my cooking but could you please repeat what you said about your joint efforts at cooking.”
Y/n looked awkwardly at Alfred and said, “Well, I was doing fine with my microwave and making my food in that when Mr Disaster decided that he was going to try to make something sweet for me and then suddenly I come home to find my microwave destroyed thoroughly because he forgot to do something. could you repeat what you did, Space Case?”
Tim looked at Alfred sheepishly and said, “I was doing it all according to the instruction but then it caught on fire and poured water on it. I did get you a new one.”
Y/n then pointed his fork towards him and said, “Alien, you got me an oven.”
Alfred looked like he was on a verge of a heart attack and then Damian said, “Drake, even with your so-called intelligence, you tried to put out an electric fire with water?”
Tim looked at Dick, Cass and Stephanie for support, all three of them shrugged and said, “We all might have to agree with Damian.”
Bruce then wiped his fingers on his napkin and said, “Tim, you know that you put out an electric fire with a woollen blanket, right?”
Tim groaned and said, “Of course I do now but if Mr Microwave would have told me that before, his microwave would not be destroyed.”
“Tin-man, seriously. I thought you knew,” Y/n said.
But with the introduction to his carefree attitude, stories were exchanged with Tim’s failures to be a proper human being were the highlight and soon Y/n had to head home.
———————————————————————————————————
Leaving Y/n at the gate, near which his motorcycle was parked, Tim said, “You could stay here the night.”
Y/n laughed and pecked his lips and said, “I didn’t pack and come properly enough to stay overnight, but thanks for the offer.”
He drove away, leaving Tim on the grounds of the Manor, wistfully looking towards the direction his boyfriend was gone in while the occupants of the manor looked onto the couple with a smile on their faces.

okay sorry for not shutting up about making tim drake go to college but im in college and i want tim to be there too. anyway heres my young justice: the college years pitch. under the cut bc its kind of long
a new minor city starts having like a crazy rise in crime and they ask the justice league to help them out because they don't have any heroes there. but the crime in that city is bad enough that anyone they sent would have to relocate indefinitely and no one really wants to do that so batman comes up with the idea of sending the old young justice team there under the guise of attending the city's university because 1. college is a really good excuse for why they suddenly moved there so no one would be suspicious and 2. bruce knows that tim/the rest of yj hasn't really been doing much lately and he thinks college would be good for them and help them figure themselves out
at first they're all kind of against it but they get convinced its for the greater good and helping out the city is important to them even if it means that have to attend university. BUT they all end up really loving it and make a lot of friends on campus and do a lot of campus activities and have a ton of school spirit. its kind of like the show community but with young justice
other thoughts:
-the roommate situation is tim and kon as roommates, cassie and cissie as roommates, anita and greta as roommates, and bart somehow getting a single room (although thad sometimes shows up and crashes there) so barts room is kind of the hangout spot. also ray terrill is their RA and he hates them because they bully him for being old
- young justice group weed smoking sessions in barts room. they make tim (whos rich (derogatory)) buy all their weed
-even though we are in 2021 and so is the current comic continuity this comic is very much set in the 90s like the fashion is from the 90s, the technology is from the 90s, the activities they do are 90s, etc. and they just never explain why and no one says anything about it. the city they're in is just Like That
-bart and kon join a frat ironically
-tim is out as bisexual and cissie is out as a lesbian so kon and cassie have simultaneous and parallel "i think im gay and into my best friend" freakouts after they go to their first party and see tim flirting with a guy and cissie flirting with a girl
-carol bucklen by coincidence goes to that college and she and bart reconnect
-they all join a dnd group to get intel on the dm who they think could be a supervillain (he's not) but they all end up getting really into it and take the game very seriously and very personally so whenever they come back to their dorm from a particularly heated session none of them talk to each other for the rest of the night
-tim skateboards everywhere and plays competitive hacky sack

Marinette remembered the first time she got something from her soulmate.
It was a battery, or so she found out when she showed it to her parents.
“Maman, what’s this?” She asked her mother as she showed her the black box-like battery.
“Where did you get this?” Sabine asked, taking it and examining, wondering where her 10 year old daughter got it. After all, she didn’t recall them buying it.
“I didn’t get it from anywhere. It just...appeared on my desk.” Marinette explained, watching as Sabine showed the box to her father.
“This looks like a camera battery.” Tom gave the battery back to Marinette, then looked at Sabine, watching as she connected the dots. “Seems like your soulmate might be into photography.”
“Soulmate?” Marinette asked, staring at the battery.
Soulmates. Only five percent of the world’s population had one or rather, the ability to find theirs. They came in various forms and at different ages, so it was always hard to know if you had a soulmate link, bond or mark.
As for the Dupain-Chengs, it seems like Tom and Sabine belonged to that five percent. Sabine and Tom found out they had soulmates when they met at a flea market in Paris. The two had noticed that the timer ticking on their wrist was edging closer to 0, causing them to panic. For the two believed that it was a timer that marked the death of their soulmate.
As the two dashed to find a place to possibly cry at, the two crashed into each other, Tom catching Sabine by her wrist to prevent her from falling. As the two apologized, it was then that they found out that they were soulmates and that the timer was counting down to when they were going to meet. Upon realizing this, they both began to laugh.
Marinette asked them why her soulmate link wasn’t like theirs, Sabine explaining that each soulmate pair had a different bond. As for Marinette, it seemed to be a lost and found link.
If either of them lost anything, say a pencil, then the other will find it.
Sabine noticed that Marinette seemed skeptical of it.
“Try throwing out the battery out the window.”
“What? No!”
“Trust me.” And so Marinette did, after preparing herself for 10 minutes. When she went outside to look for it, it was gone.
Seeing as it was true, Marinette began to purposely lose items frequently, hoping that her soulmate would get the message that she knew about him. That she was eager to meet him. But despite her hard efforts, her items never went over to her soulmate, the items landing or staying in the spot Marinette had thrown at.
Because of this, whenever Marinette would try and show her friends her bond, they half-believed her. Only one straight up thought she made up the story to get attention: Chloe.
But then again, Chloe didn’t like anyone, so Marinette kept telling her friends of her various attempts, eagerly telling them how she couldn’t wait to meet them.
--
Soulmates…as much as Tim wanted to ask his parents about it, he chose not to.
Tim looked at the tiny medallion in his hand, his fingers running over the three letters engraved on it, quickly putting it away when he heard his mother’s footsteps, quickly burying himself into his homework, pretending to flip between pages when he heard the doorknob of his room turn.
Janet walked in, Tim pretending to figure out a calculation out, quickly scribbling some nonsense onto his paper.
“I see that you’re working hard.”
“Mr.Sommers said that the next exam will cover factorization, so I thought I would do a few for practice.” Tim easily lied, adding a final number before looking up to acknowledge his mother.
She had that look again. “How long would you be out for this trip?” Janet jumped a bit. “You talked about it with Mrs.Romanov just yesterday, when you found her at the bookstore to buy some books for the flight. When we were at the storefront, remember?”
Another lie. Yes, his mother had gone to the bookstore with Tim, but the thing was that Janet had sent Tim off while she told Mrs.Romanov about her next exertion. How she told Mrs.Romanov if she knew of any nannies to take care of Tim while she was going to be out for the next two months.
Despite knowing Tim was capable of maintaining himself, she didn’t want the school to bother her again for not leaving him behind with adult supervision. It was starting to get on her nerves.
“Oh that’s right. How did I forget?” His mother recalled, not once doubting his retelling. “We’re excavating in Riqqeh, Egypt for a month.” Tim watched as his mother let out a sigh. “Probably more cemeteries, but then again, you never know until you dig.”
“I see.” Tim said, burying himself back into his homework. “Hope you find something more interesting than skeletons then.”
“I promise to bring back a souvenir, okay?” His mother walked to him, placing a cold kiss on his forehead, Tim noticing his father’s name etched on her collar bone. “Make sure to go straight to sleep after you finish that page, understood?” A nod. “Good night, Timothy.”
“Good night.” He simply said back, watching as she closed the door.
Taking out the medallion, Tim stared at it.
He had a soulmate somewhere out there...a soulmate he dreaded to meet...and yet hoped that perhaps they wouldn’t end up like his parents…
Tim opened a secret compartment in his pencil case and placed the medallion there, thinking about it until he went to sleep.
Soulmates. Everyone is always eager to meet them, but no one ever tells you how to keep that same enthusiasm after you meet them…
Tim’s parents met when Janet had tagged along with one of her friend’s excavation trips, meeting Jack in Berlin.
The minute the two saw each other, their world turned more colorful, the two becoming infatuated with one other when they found out they were soulmates. After showing each other’s names etched onto their collarbones, the two quickly planned their marriage.
Marrying in Gotham was a dream come true for Janet...but that dream lasted a mere months before the world went back to being its bland self. With each having their own dreams, careers and goals, Janet and Jack started to stray from each other. Meetings and trips took time away from one another. And the time they would see each other, they would simply talk about work, work and nothing else. Not even a single ‘want to take a break?’ or ‘how about we go out for dinner tonight?’
It was like being at another board meeting, being professional with each other.
They only drew close to one another when Janet found out she was pregnant with Timothy, Jack taking some time off work to make sure Janet had various maids checking on her before returning back to work.
On the day Timothy was to be born, Jack was there, holding Janet’s handing during the delivery. He held his son once before handing him over to Janet and leaving, mentioning about having to go back to work.
Jack would then go on to see Timothy at home, being lulled to sleep by the handmaid, telling Jack of Janet’s meeting with the board about an upcoming visit to Mexico.
There were few times Tim actually remembered going out as a family and while from the outside it looked like any other family outing, Tim knew why they were out in the first place: rumors.
“Have you heard? Drake’s little boy was seen walking home by himself! What parent lets their child go home by themselves? ”
“Timothy? But he’s only six!”
“Heard they plan on sending him to a boarding school. Poor thing.”
While the family outings were influenced by rumors, Tim found joy in them because it was the few times he was able to go to places he had desired to go before. Like the circus....even if that one ended in a tragedy.
But even good things had to come to an end. Years went by and Timothy grew to be very independent. That was when all the maids and servants were shooed off, leaving Tim all alone.
It didn’t help that they did indeed end up sending him to boarding school.
But Tim managed to get used to being alone, and has been for the past two years.
--
Years passed and Marinette no longer kept trying to lose her items. Despite her various attempts, she couldn’t manage to send them over to her soulmate, finding it disheartening it.
But as of these days, Marinette didn’t have the time to try it again. Or rather, she could no longer afford to lose her belongings or let them out of her sight.
While she had gotten used to getting her things taken away from her thanks to her friends borrowing them or Chloe playing a “prank” on her, getting bullied by two people at the same time was starting to take a toll on her and the brand she was trying to set for herself at the age of 15.
If she dared to let her eyes wander, then they would either fall into the hands of Chloe or of Lila’s. When Lila transferred to Dupont, Marinette didn’t honestly care about her lying, after all, they were nothing but white lies. So she never bothered to actually make friends with the girl. But even with the lack of communication, Marinette apparently did something to Lila because one day she was cornered in the bathroom and was threatened.
Marinette was kind but she knew when enough was enough.
“I would like to see you try.” She practically spat into Lila’s face before leaving the bathroom those weeks ago.
So here she was, being bullied by both her bully since l'école primaire and her new found one in lycee.
But between the two, Marinette preferred her personal things end up in Chloe’s hands than Lila’s. Chloe at least gave them back, but Lila? They never returned in one piece or even worse, they didn’t come back at all.
“Marinette? Where is your-”
“Mme Bustier...I promise you I did do it. I had it.” Marinette stabilized her voice from erupting into panic as she failed to find her assignment that she swore she had in her bag. “You can even ask Alya. She saw it.”
“That’s true Mme Bustier!” Alya quickly defended, although she wondered what happened to the paper as she saw Marinette safely tuck it away. Yes, Marinette could be clumsy, but unorganized and scattered brain? That she was not. She was meticulous, precise and always punctual. So how did that paper leave its place?
“Regardless, it’s not in my hands.” Mme Bustier sighed. “You’ll have to stay after class.” That caused Marinette to panic. She couldn’t afford to stay after school. She had a meeting with a client as soon as school ended.
“But Mme Bustier!”
“I’m sorry Marinette, but-”
“I can’t afford to stay after class! I have a very important-”
“Marinette.” Mme Bustier sternly stated. “Rules are rules. You’ll have to come after school, whether you have a very important appointment or not.”
Marinette managed to not scream as the bell rang, watching as everyone filed out, Alya lingering behind.
“Marinette, I could-” she shook her head.
“Alya, I’ll be alright.” She gave her friend a sheepish smile. “And go on without me. Perhaps my client will understand when I explain it to them via text.” Despite Marinette’s reassurance, Alya nodded and left the classroom hesitantly.
Bracing herself for her punishment, Mme Bustier got a phone call from the main office, looking at Marinette and turning her attention back to the phone. With a few ‘oui’ and ‘be right there,’ Bustier turned to Marinette.
“They need me for a few minutes downstairs, but that doesn’t mean you are free to go. Stay here while I check what they need from me.” Mme Bustier ordered, Marinette burying her face into her hands as she slammed herself into her desk.
She lifted her head once again, sending a quick text to her client about running late. Once that was over, Marinette took out her sketchbook to look over her designs, taking out a red pen to add some additional revisions.
She didn’t know how long she had been like that, but the moment she heard the door open, her head snapped upwards, a frown on her face when she saw Lila and not Mme Bustier.
“What do you want?”
“Nothing much.” Lila said, dragging her fingers on the desk Marinette sat at. “Just this!” She exclaimed, snatching the sketchbook from under Marinette’s hand.
“Give it back!” Marinette screamed, quickly chasing after Lila around the class.
“Oh come one Marinette! I just want to-”
“They’re very important commision designs for a client-” Marinette attempted to reason, almost grabbing it back from Lila.
“Is that so?” Lila hummed, quickly opening the sketchbook and looking at the designs. “Wow. You weren’t kidding!” A grin made its way to her face. “It’d be too bad if something bad happened to it.”
Marinette’s eyes widened and the next thing she knew, she had managed to grab the sketchbook from Lila.
“There’s no way in hell I would let you.” Marinette said in a low voice.
“Oh? Then let’s see you try!” Lila yelled, attempting to grab the sketchbook from Marinette.
The two waltzed away from one another as Marinette kept her sketchbook away from Lila’s grasp. The two were on each other’s toes  until Marinette had to run around the classroom, having to knock over Mme Bustier’s chair to keep Lila away from her when she got too close to comfort.
“Come on Marinette! I just want to see-”
“No way in hell Lila!” Marinette screamed, feeling as Lila dug her nails into her shoulder when she ended up cornering her by the windows, Marinette trying her best to not wince at the pain.
The two girls kept clawing at one another until Marinette couldn’t keep Lila at bay anymore, trying to find a way to keep her sketchbook safe from Lila. As Lila kept pushing her, Marinette’s hand hit the window, almost knocking down the metal rod that was used to pull down the shades. That’s when it hit her.
Taking in a deep breath, Marinette kicked Lila away from her, ingraining Lila’s expression of surprise into her memory. As Lila goy up and charged to grab the designer’s sketchbook, Marinette flung it behind her head, silently praying for its safety.
After all, everytime she had tried to lose an item, it never worked. But this time, just this one time, she hoped it would work.
Meanwhile, Lila watched as the sketchbook flew out the window, watching as it fell down to the ground, only to disappear before it hit the grass outside.
Lila stepped back, her eyes darting from the missing book to the panting Marinette who glared at her with daggers for eyes.
“Not this time Lila. Not this time.” The classroom door opened, causing both girls to look at the doorway.
“What is going on here?” Mme Mendeleiev practically shouted, causing Lila to lose all color in her face.
Crap.
Tim watched as his English teacher started to walk down the desk aisle, watching as he started to collect their writing assignment assigned yesterday.  Seeing as he was drawing near, Tim reached into his bag, when he felt an unfamiliar texture brush against his knuckles. Peering into his bag, he noticed a leather book with a red strap securing it.
Deciding to check it out later, Tim took out his assignment and handed it in, watching as Mr.Hughes simply nodded as he took it, walking down the other row of desks to take the assignment.
As class progressed, his mind drifted to one thing: the book. Tim pondered at how the leather book had gotten into his bag and who it belonged to.
Was it from someone in his class? Was it part of a prank?
He was snapped from his thoughts once the bell rang, signaling everyone that it was lunch.
Tim scurried to the school’s library, heading up to the second floor and turning a right to where his favorite spot welcomed him. A lone desk at the corner, next to a radiator that warmed him in the winter and a wonderful view of the campus as well.
Ever since the death of his mother around a year ago, Tim was able to convince his father to pull him out of boarding school and to transfer him to Gotham Academy. He told him how it was less costly and better yet, closer to home. He agreed.
Making sure that he was comfortable, Tim took out the leather book, his fingers analyzing the bumpy leather texture. Perhaps he would find the owner’s name inside. If not, he will take it to the lost-n-found in the main office. Carefully, Tim took the red strap off the edge of the book, taken aback at the sketches on the paper.
Light feather markings under layers of darker, bolder strokes of graphite looked back at him in the shape of a dress. Side notes in French in a vibrant shade of black ink were meticulously jotted down, red ink being additional notes to the already long list of critiques.
As he turned the pages, Tim saw one dress design after another, designs for hats, caps, shirts and even leather jackets were in there too. Names of fabrics he had never heard of before racked in his mind as Tim kept admiring each sketch. He also couldn’t help but notice the signature on each page. MDC.
MDC.
As he reveled in the initials, trying to make sense of them, he let out a hiss as he retracted his hand from the book, noticing a small bead of blood emerged from his finger...blood?
Tim looked back at the book, noticing that there was a single needle poking out from the sketchbook’s satin bookmark, a silver medallion-
Medallion?
There was no way.
Tim closed in on the medallion and there it was, the initials, MDC. Just like the one he found written on the rose-gold medallion he found years ago.
But why now? Why now after five years of not losing a single thing?
Time had gone by so quickly that Tim literally jumped when the bell rang for the next class, Tim quickly scrambling to gently put back his soulmate’s things into his bag and head for geometry class.
--
Thanks to the fiasco with Lila, Marientte was held back even more, leading to Marinette having to reschedule her appointment with her client.
Thankfully, the client understood the situation Marinette was just in, even going as far as waiting for Marinette to set the new meeting date. Something about having been there before.
Wrapped in a lavender scented blanket, Marinette stared at her phone screen in front of her that blinked several times before turning black. Then it would turn on again.
On. On. On. On. Off. On…. Off. On... Off...On. On...
Marinette didn’t bother to flip it over either, knowing that the vibration of the incoming calls and unread text messages were going to remind her of the incident with Lila...and how she didn’t have access to her sketchbook anymore.
Her stomach grumbled in annoyance, Marinette only then remembering not having eaten in hours and its been a long time judging form the darken sky outside.
Deciding to actually eat something before she started to feel nauseous from not eating, Marinette was surprised to see a crumpled piece of paper next to the tray of food her mom had brought her. Where did the paper come from?
Opening it up, Marinette felt her heart stop.
I don’t know why, but I have your book…
Thank god she studied a bit of English! Marinette read the next lines.
The designs...are very nice. But guessing from the notes on the last page, you need it back. How exactly do I do that?
That stumped Marinette because to be honest, she didn’t know how. Every time she had tried to before, it never worked. Only this one time where she really needed for the link to work, it worked. But...they managed to easily lose their things…
Grabbing a piece of paper, Marinette wrote back, crumbling it and headed towards her skylight. Opening the hatch a bit, she threw it, going back to her food, hoping it got through.
--
Tim was minding his own business, listening to NIghtwing give the squad a run down of their latest problem when he eyed a crumpled up paper by his foot. Hoping no one would notice it, he quickly placed it under his foot and waited for the debriefing to finish.
Crouching to get it, it seems like he wasn’t as subtle as he had wished to be as Jaime got to it first.
“What you hiding from us, compa’?” Jaime asked Tim as he uncrumpled the paper. “¿Qué diablos es esto? What is this? Can you even read this?” Jaime pointed at the French written on the paper.
“Yes, I can.” Tim said, huffing when Bart leaned onto his shoulder, peering into the note in Tim’s hands.
“Why am I not surprised?” Jaime said. “Not only are you super smart, but now you’re bilingual too? Let me guess, you're actually multilingual?”
“Actually, he is.” Bart chimed in.
“No manches güey. Seriously?”
“If I remember correctly: Spanish, Cantonese, Russian-”
“And German.” Tim finished, quickly picking up his pace. “Now if you excuse me, I have a few things to do.”
“Hey! At least tell us what it says! Andale, no seas malo.” Jaime pleaded but simply got a wave goodbye for an answer. “Fine! But don’t forget about tomorrow’s mission, eh?”
As Tim left Jaime and Bart behind, he headed to the zeta tubes to head back home, thanking Alfred for the lift home, acknowledging his father as he made his way to his room.
He made a beeline for his bag, taking out the sketchbook, scared to even hold it now that he knew who it belonged to and how much it could potentially be worth.
He laid down the wrinkled paper on his desk, rereading the note.
Just lose it. Try to toss it out the window or something. That’s what I did. It’s how our link works after all.
Tim took a deep breath, both relieved that there was a possible way to return the book and nervous it wouldn’t work.
Taking the sketchbook, he opened up his bedroom window, looked down below and took a deep breath. He took a step back and with one swift move, he tossed the sketchbook out the window, wondering if it made its way safely back to its owner.
After what seemed like an hour, Tim found a crumpled piece of paper on his desk, quickly jogging towards it and opening, feeling a wash of relief flow out of him, Tim let himself smile as he looked at the paper.
It worked! Thank you so much! My name is Marinette...what’s yours?
--
Months flew by, Marinette now being in her senior year and grinning from ear to ear as she read Tim’s latest text to her, ignoring Alya’s nagging on packing for their trip.
Ever since the sketchbook incident, Marinette found out the reason as to why she was never able to “lose” anything to give to Tim. Or rather the two reasons why the link wasn’t working.
First off, Marinette had been intentionally losing items and always had her eyes on where it would land, which actually cancelled the link. Second, Tim’s fussing over the soulmate link caused it to weaken over time, which further didn't allow Marinette to send him anything over.
Through various days of aggressively sending each other notes, Tim decided to embrace the link while Marinette assured him that she would try to keep her enthusiasm to a low. Keyword: try.
Getting tired from the constant note throwing, Marinette suggested exchanging contact info. It’s how Marinette learned that Tim was very meticulous, and that was coming from his share of contact info. He had an email, phone number, fax number all carefully labeled with even hours in which Marinette was allowed to contact him.
At first Marinette thought he was a stick in the mud, but then Tim had to explain to her about time zones and how he was still in school and afterschool programs most of the week...oops. How did she forget about time zones and school of all things?
Using Marinette’s phone number and email, Tim was easily able to know where exactly Marinette lived, but that’s all he was able to figure out. It wasn’t exactly easy to figure out more about your soulmate when an enthusiastic Dick hovered around you upon knowing about Tim’s soulmate. It got worse when Tim officially moved into Wayne Manor after his father’s death.
But even with Dick hovering like a hummingbird, Tim found texting with Marinette soothing. To have a friend outside of school, out of the Justice League, to have a friend where he could just be Tim...it was...relaxing. Especially when he heard of Lila’s moving due to her mother’s job.
After all, it’s not like he had something to do with it. Absolutely not.
Of course, there were a few times he almost spilled the details, but he was easily able to catch himself, oftentimes redirecting it towards Marinette’s day or her latest commission.
Sometimes they would even video chat, although rarely thanks to time zones. But the few times they did, they would each ingrain each second they spent with each other, as they never knew when they were actually going to meet one day… even if it came closer than what either of them thought.
--
Tim reread his text for the umpteenth time, his mind still trying to process the message before realizing he hadn’t answered back.
Metropolis? As in, the city where the Man of Steel resides?
She...she was heading to Metropolis? In two days?
Thank Kon for dragging him here!
Marinette: Yup! To think we were able to win Luthor’s scholarship trip! Can you believe it? I can’t wait to see what his program could offer! When I found out that Luthor was holding a scholarship trip for those who would win his Foundation for the Arts’ essay competition, there was no way I was going to let that chance go! Especially when I heard that the trip was extended to the winner’s entire class, regardless of nationality. It would basically be our second senior trip before the first one ^^
Must be very excited then.
You bet I am!
To think...to think he would be able to see her in person… He watched as his happiness wrote for him.
--
Tim: Wanna hear something that would make the trip more exciting?
What would make this trip even more exciting?
Marinette hummed into the palm of her hand as she watched Tim type.
Tim: I’ll get to see you. Face to face. I’ll be in Metropolis for the next week...what are the odds?
Alya never saw Marinette turn red so quickly, watching as Marinette almost fell off her bed.
“Marinette! Oh my god, Nino! Help! She’s on cloud nine!”
--
Marinette fanned herself as she bit her lip, fiddling with the green ribbon she had wrapped around her wrist in case she wanted to tie her hair up.
Today was her second day in Metropolis, Marinette now nervous compared to when she first arrived the day before.
After having a tour of Metropolis University, Bustier’s class was able to have the day to themselves and as if on cue, Tim texted her if she was free even though she had already shared her itinerary with him the moment she recovered from her shock those days ago.
So now here she was, standing in Heroes’ Park, wondering if she looked foolish standing in front of Superman’s statue.
Or perhaps because she looked so out of place. Who wears a sunhat nowadays? Oh wait, she did...why exactly? Because freckles.
Marinette looked at her phone, wondering if she got the time wrong. No. She was literally a whole ten minutes early.
So why-
“You scream tourist you know.” A voice said, snapping Marinette from her thoughts. As she turned to see who it was, she felt her heart skip a beat.
He always seemed short, but...now being faced to face…
“Well, sorry for having freckles. The sun-” Marinette pouted, caught by surprised when Tim cupped her face.
“Freckles? I never knew you had them. Then again, you can’t really see them when they’re so small and through a screen at that.”
Marinette listened as her heart threatened to jump from her chest, more so when Tim realized what he was doing. Pink dusted his face. “Sorry, I-”
“I-It’s alright.” Marinette managed to find herself saying, pulling her hat closer to her face. “I...I also wasn’t expecting you to be taller than me.”
That caused Tim to sputter.
“You thought I was-”
“Hey! In my defense, I only had furniture to get some type of knowledge of how tall you were. Seems like I was wrong.” Marinette confessed.
The two stared at each other before laughing, Marinette attempting to reel in her heart with each laugh Tim let out. She didn’t think they would sound so different to what she was used to listening to through the phone.
When the two managed to compose themselves, Tim and Marinette looked at each other again. Marinette dusted off nonexistent dust off her yellow-canary shorts, readjusting her black purse that crossed her red blouse. Tim cleared his throat.
“Well, let’s start this again.” Marinette nodded, a smile on her face.
“Hey. My name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng.” She comfortably answered back, clasping her hand with the hand Tim offered. “I’m happy to finally meet you, Timothy.” Tim squeezed her hands, noticing how her hand fit perfectly in his.
Perhaps this was where his parents went wrong. Perhaps this is why their relationship didn’t work...lack of communication...lack of appreciation and affection…
But he won’t let them end but like them, not when he knows how much she means to him.
Giving her hand a squeeze, Tim smiled at him.
“As am I, Marinette.”

Timari Jan. day 8: childhood friends
@timari-month-event
The Culpa family were Waynes of Europe. They own Culpa Consolidated, a company rivaling Wayne Enterprises in not only their income, but reputation. C.C. owns many establishments across Europe and is spreading to Asia and the Americas. It's is known for their funding of causes, well payed employees, and its 'puts-up-with-no-bullshit' CEO, Felix Culpa.
Every business person knows the rules of making business with C.C.
1. No Touching
2. No Getting Off-Topic at Meetings
And most of all,
3. No Talking About The Culpa Family
Everybody knows that Felix is a widow, raising his daughter by himself, with only the help of his in-laws and mother. The first time a potential client brought up his family, they ended up getting fired from their company for ruining a business deal. There are no pictures or information on his daughter on the internet, everyone in the building has signed an NDA.
Anyone who thinks that Felix's cold exterior would make him a bad parent is wrong. Felix would sooner stab himself in the eye with a fork than ever treat his little flower as anything less than a princess.
He used to catastrophize to Bridgette, late at night when she was pregnant with Marinette. He was terrified that he'd be a horrible father.
'Just like his.' The bastard who left his mother when he was just a child and then returned later when he was a teen to harass her.
But Bridgette always made sure he understood that he'd never be that man.  That wasn't Felix's problem right now. It was taking Marinette to her first publicized gala.
~
"Little Flower, you remember the rules, correct?" Marinette nodded yes for the third time that night. She understood her papa wanted to keep her safe, she wanted her papa to be safe too, but she's 9! She's a big girl, she can take care of herself.
All of her martial arts teachers made sure of that.
"If someone tries drag me away I yell, if everything gets to much I come find you, don't cause trouble, don't let anyone see Tikki or Kaalki or Trixx. I got it, Papa." Marinette was wearing her favorite fancy dress. She saved it just for today, her first gala. She'd been asking her Papa to go to one since she was 6.
"Okay then, Little Flower, we're here." They step into the Wayne Ballroom.
~
Tim was no stranger to gala's. He had been going since he was a baby. His parents basked in the attention they got from other attendees who coddled him in 'oh look how big you  are.' and 'look at you. Such a handsome young man.' And when the pampering stopped he just spent the rest of the night in the kids room, taking pictures with the camera he smuggled inside.
Tim knew almost all of the kids who regularly attended galas, they understood that he didn't want to play, so they didn't try to wrap him into their mischief or games. It's not that he didn't like having fun, ever kid did. It's was because his parents made it explicitly clear that if he caused a scene, there would be consequences.
So it confused him when he saw a girl his age he didn't recognize. His parent's made sure he could recognize and name anyone important he might ever meet, including their kids.
She wasn't trying to recruit him into a scheme, so he ignored her and it seemed like she was too.
Until she walked up to him.
~
Mari really didn't like how all of the people at the gala kept touching her. When her checks weren't being pinched, her hair was being petted. Thank the kwami her Papa excused her to the kids room.
She started drawing him her picture diary. She didn't finish the page, she had a feeling her night had yet to reach it's climax.
She noticed a boy her age on the other side of the room and decided to introduce her self. Her Papa's protectiveness had left her in need of friends. Her cousin Adrien was not her friend, he let Chloe bully her and told her that she had to be nicer to Chloe, if you're extra nice to her she'll be nice to you, that's what the friendship advise videos Natalie shows me say. At least her Papa let her go to school. It was maximum security and he made sure all of the faculty signed NDAs, but it was something.
"Hi, I'm Marinette!" She had a mix of English and French accent, English from living in London with her Papa and Nan, and French from her conversations with Grand-mère and Grand-père.
The boy hesitated to answer, "I'm Tim." His disinterested tone would have discouraged most other kids but Marinette was determined.
"Hi Tim! What are you doing?" She sat next to him on the couch.
"Taking pictures." He really wanted to tell her he didn't want to play but his parents would have his head if she ran off in tears because of him.
He really didn't like how she was staring at his camera, if she was the 'steal from other kids' type he was ready to throw hands, despite how small they were.
"That's a Nikon D760 DSLR, right?"
Well, that was unexpected.
"Yeah... How'd you know that?" Tim didn't mean to be stereotypical but she didn't look like a camera expert. She looked more like someone likely to be caught on the other end to be honest.
"My Uncle Claude uses the same model, he's a photographer for my Papa."
"Cool," He noticed the book under her arm and couldn't contain his curiosity, "What's that?"
She looked down at her book. Mari didn't usually let other people look in it, it was one of the only things she had from her Maman. It was a magically endless and her Maman had written a letter for her in on the first page. She rarely even let her Papa see it, but Tim was, for what reason she did not know, special. She could trust him, she didn't know why but she could.
"It's my picture diary. I on each page I make a drawing that sums up my day. Here's yesterday's." She opened the book to the page she drew on the day before.
~
They had spent the rest of the night talking about whatever they could. They were so deep into their conversation they didn't even notice their parents walk into the room.
"Tim." Janet's voice surprised him, he froze.
Mari didn't seem to notice his parents, she was distracted by trying to catch glimpse of her Papa in the crowd of parents. "I'll be back in a second, Tim." Great, now his parents could rip into him without worrying about someone hearing.
"What do you think your doing, talking to some random nobody girl? You should be making friends with children of important icons, it's important to make friends with people like that. It will make business better when you're running a company and you have friends in high places." Jack scolds.
"I better see you on better behavior next gala or so help me-" Janet was interrupted by Mari's introduction.
"Tim! This is my Papa!" Well Tim really didn't expect this, and from the looks of it, neither did his parents.
From first look Mari and Felix look nothing alike. But if you stare long enough you see that even though Mari inherited her eyes and hair from her mother, her posture and bone structure matched Felix's. It was clear that Felix had taught his little flower to be a lady, while keeping her personality intact.
"Mr. Culpa! What a surprise! I didn't know this little angel is your daughter?" Janet's personality change would have given an unprepared fool whiplash.  Luckily Tim was neither.
"Mr. and Mrs. Drake, a pleasure as always. It seem my Marinette has made friends with Tim." He smiles a little.
"I hear you'll be staying in Gotham for some time. We should plan play dates for them! Timmy here doesn't have to many friends, it would good for him to spend time with someone his age." Jack proposes.
With a little convincing from Mari's deadly puppy-dog eyes, Felix, Jack, and Janet plan met up times for the kids.
"You're off the hook this time. Don't mess this up." She whispers to him that night at home.
Tim was genuinely happy, for the first time in to long. He actually looked forward to the days ahead. Nothing could mess that up, Mari and Tim had something special, they just don't know it yet.

Soulmarks, Part 12
First part
Previous
~~~
Tim was separated from the only two people in the country he knew within seconds of the lunch bell ringing.
Marinette had been called up by the teacher. Apparently, she was class president last year and she held the duties until the next election. She gave a tiny sigh as she released Tim’s hand and gave both him and Adrien kisses on the cheek before heading out with Mme. Bustier.
Adrien, at least, was still in the room. Unfortunately, though, he was completely surrounded by his classmates, who were all clamoring for pictures of his notes.
He crossed his arms over his chest awkwardly as he stood outside the door, waiting for either of his friends to appear.
The door swung open and out walked Lila.
Damn it, he’d held Marinette’s hand too long and her bad luck had rubbed off on him.
He sighed. “What do you want?”
She smiled sweetly at him, twirling a lock of her hair in her fingers. “I just wanted to show the new kid around some.”
“Wouldn’t that be Marinette’s job as class rep?”
Lila sighed and shook her head slowly. “Oh, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but… I wouldn’t get too close to Mari.”
He raised his eyebrows. A little late for that, but he supposed he may as well ask: “Why not?”
“Well, for one thing, she’s a bit of a bully.” She looked at the ground. “Did she ever tell you about all the times she tried to ‘prove’ that I wasn’t actually disabled? Just because she didn’t like me? We hadn’t even talked, she was just mad I was talking to Adrien!”
A frown made its way across his face. Sure, it wasn’t at all like the Marinette he knew, but how well did he know her? He’d never seen how she interacted with people she didn’t like… and hadn’t he seen just how ruthless she could be when she wanted to that first day with ‘bowling’? In the way her expression hardened when Joker or Harley were mentioned?
He leaned against the wall. “There are other things?”
Lila’s head jerked up in surprise. “Huh?”
“You said ‘for one thing’. That implies more.”
“You’d think bullying would be enough…” Said Lila with a frown, but she continued: “Secondly, I think she’s a gold digger.”
His mind wandered to the few times Bruce had tried to buy something for her. How she’d ended up hiding money around for him to find so he couldn’t force it back into her hands. He gave a soft laugh. No, he wasn’t concerned about that. “Well, I can say she isn’t.”
Besides, if anyone here was a gold digger, it was probably Lila. Her eyes had lit up at the Wayne name. Projecting much?
She didn't seem all that convinced. “I just think it’s a little suspicious that she goes after you, Kagami, and Adrien. The girl has a pattern, and it’s money.”
He snickered. “Okay, and what about Chloe Bourgeois?”
“Chloe?” Said Lila slowly. “How do you know about Chloe?”
He frowned. “She’s in our class, right?”
“Well, yes, but they don’t talk or anything. How’d you know about her?”
“Simple: I’m her soulmate.”
Lila blanked. There was a few moments where she apparently rebooted, and then she scoffed. “Are you sure about that? Marinette likes to lie. A lot.”
“Pretty sure. Unless you know some other designers, who live in France, who bakes a lot, who carries a yoyo in their pocket, who also happens to love her parents.”
She finally stopped twirling her hair, shoving her hands in her pockets as she mulled this over. “Congrats on finding your soulmate,” she said in the same begrudging tone that siblings use when their parents make them apologize to each other. “But…”
“But…?”
Lila leaned forward conspiratorially. “I think she might be working for Hawkmoth.”
Don’t. Laugh.
He shook his head, pursing his lips together tightly to stop himself from laughing. When he was sure that he could keep a straight face, he mumbled a “yeah, no.”
She shrugged. “Don’t believe me? She disappears during every akuma and she’s never been akumatized. I’m telling you, she’s working with him!”
He couldn’t help it anymore, he snickered. Sure, the girl had gathered some pretty good evidence, but she’d come to the complete wrong conclusion. Before he could really come up with a reason for why he was so convinced that she couldn’t be working with him, he spotted Marinette running back to the classroom.
Tim watched her eyes narrow when she spotted Lila and raised his eyebrows. Sure, three out of four of Lila’s points were wrong, but the first one still concerned him.
Marinette gave a forced smile as she came to a stop beside him. “Ready for your tour? I even got special permission to take you out of school for lunch today,” she chirped, holding up two tiny slips of paper.
He smiled faintly. “How’d you manage that?”
“I let it slip to the principal that I was showing around Tim Drake-Wayne. They practically begged me to keep the school food away from you.” She winked, then her eyes found their way to Lila. Her smile lessened. “Lunch is almost over for you, Lila, you should get something to eat. What with your weak immune system and all, we wouldn’t want you to get sick, would we?”
He narrowed his eyes slightly and glanced at Lila, who sighed like this was a regular occurrence.
“Fine, Mari, I’ll leave. I know when I’m not wanted.” She leaned up and kissed Tim on the cheek before he could really react. “A presto,” she said, sending a grin over her shoulder as she walked off.
He gave a tiny wave and then glanced at Marinette.
“You’re crumpling the papers.”
She snapped out of it and frowned, looking down at the passes. She loosened her grip and started smoothing them out with her fingers. “Right. Sorry. Let’s go.”
~
She should have warned him about Lila. She had no clue what the liar had said about her, but it clearly was affecting Tim. Earlier he’d been holding her hand and now he would barely even look her in the eyes.
She stared at the empty cup of coffee in front of her as they waited for the waiter to come back with their food in silence.
A tiny part of her was tempted to just let Lila have him. She’d managed to get everyone else, had picked off all her friends one by one. Even Adrien would usually eat with Nino. At this point, she was starting to think it would be easier to just let go of the hope that she could really have friends while she lived in Paris. It would certainly feel better than grasping onto him desperately only to lose him…
She pulled her yoyo from her pocket and started messing with it.
One attempt. She’d give herself one attempt.
“What did she tell you?”
He looked at her. Finally.
“She obviously told you something. What was it?”
He finished off his coffee and set down his cup. “She said you’re a bully.”
“Well, she’s a compulsive liar.”
“She said the same about you.”
She cursed as her yoyo tangled itself and started fixing the string. “And you’re going to believe her over me?”
He reached across the table and gently pulled the yoyo from her fingers and started working the knots out. “Normally, I wouldn’t, but…” He sighed lightly. “Would she really have a reason to fake an illness?”
Marinette blinked, then shook her head. “That wasn’t the first lie I figured out. The first one was --.” She cut herself off and gave the waiter an awkward smile as he set down a plate of waffles.
The teens mumbled their thanks and he left.
She switched to English for her next sentence: “She lied about being friends with Ladybug.”
He raised his eyebrows.
She frowned. He didn’t trust her. Great. She had proof, at least. She scrolled through the Ladyblog for a while before handing over the video of Lila claiming to be Ladybug’s best friend.
“So... she lied once to seem cool to her new classmates and you decided that was enough to never trust her again?”
She wanted to kick something. Seriously? She pulled her yoyo back from him and started pulling on the string as hard as she could. She needed her yoyo back. She needed to calm down. She needed --.
Her eyes spotted a black and purple speck on the horizon and she squeaked.
Fuck. She couldn’t do this. She couldn’t get akumatized. She wouldn’t be able to fix things if she was akumatized. She couldn’t let someone die because of her --.
Tim followed her gaze and cursed quietly. “Listen, Nette, I’m sorry! I believe you!”
“I’m not stupid, Tim! I know you’re just saying that!” She hissed.
Angry tears formed behind her eyes. All the emotions she’d been holding back since Hawkmoth had begun his reign of terror were threatening to fall through and she couldn’t let that happen. God, she was feeling so much and she couldn’t handle it and she couldn’t allow herself to even try and someone was letting the akuma in and --.
She shut down.
Her emotions went from feeling like they were suffocating her to being practically nonexistent. She sunk in her seat, barely even paying attention to all the people scrambling for cover as fast as they could. She didn’t care. She didn’t care about anything at all.
The akuma paused inches away from her yoyo and she watched with a blank face as it slowly turned around and fluttered out the way it had come.
“Nette?” Said Tim quietly, his eyes not leaving the akuma.
She closed her eyes.
One attempt, she told herself. One last attempt.
“I’ll admit, I definitely didn’t like that Lila was getting close to Adrien and it made me more bitter and skeptical about everything she said than I should have been… but I still caught her in actual lies. About who she knows, about the things she’s done, about her illnesses, about everything. And I called her out on it every time, it’s why she’s so determined to keep everyone away from me. With more lies, of course, but they always have just enough truth that everyone believes her and nothing I do ever seems to be enough to convince them.”
Tim said nothing for a moment…
And then she felt his hand rest over hers.
“I believe you… but --.”
She groaned. “Great. I tried. Want a tour before we stop talking to each other forever?”
“Not like that. I’m just saying… for all of her lies, she was projecting: bullying, gold digging, lying…”
She nodded slightly. “Sure. So?”
“She also accused you of working for Hawkmoth.”
Her eyes snapped open.
Maribat March 2021 - Half time
In my AO3 account I am also updating the 'A playboy billionaire, an ambassador and the secret love-child' title, and sometimes I add(ed) commentary why I write something the way I do.
Masterlist
From the last fifty days here is all the plus note:
First day
In Red Robin (2009-2011) comics Vicki Vale was a little bit too noisy for her own good, that's why I used her personal annoyance against Bruce Wayne in this story.
Third day
Vanessa Rios was an assistant district attorney in Gotham in the Robin (1993-2009) run. Here I am using her as the Wayne's legal team head. Tamara Fox, Lucius Fox's daughter, is friends with Tim Drake in Red Robin (2009-2011) comics and here too. Also she is an intern with the HR department who knows about the BatFam alteregos.
Fifth day
In the comics, Alfred always followed Bruce to his 'trips' (in 'Batman and Son' to London, 'Batman & Robin Annual' to an scavenger hunt, in 'Batman Inc.' to every country where they found representatives...) However because of Damian's unpredictable behaviour he stayed at the manor with the children in this story.
Sixth day
So Young Justice thing is a little complicated to me if I dare to say something about it. There was the 'Young Justice: The Secret' and its sequels. Then there were 'The New52' and 'DC Rebirth' era, plus the animation show. And they all are kind of okay..ish, furthermore I wanted to keep the principles like the main members (Tim Drake, Connor Kent, Bart Allen and Cassie Sandsmark), however I never liked their too childish behavior in some of the works (and the mixing with 'The Titans). So in this story, here, they are more adult..ish, but more relaxed and cheerful than 'The Titans' ever was (like in comics, not in the shows).
Eighth day
In the 'Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir' show they showed Lila as a manipulator without any remorse, which got me to think she has antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). I am not a doctor but I had some basic lesson in psychology, and I have a natural curiosity about things so I always research everything. With diagnosed ASPD the person has to be older then 18, however I read its symptoms can show up in childhood, and it can lead to an earlier diagnosis like 14-15 years old early.
In the case of Lila she deceives people and uses them (✓). Don't makes long term plans or thinking through about her behavior (✓), however has a set on some goal she wants to achieve (✓). She has a sense of superiority above of her classmates and adults in her environment (✓), nevertheless does't have any remorse or guilt to mistreat them (✓). Uses charisma and her fake charming persona to get something or someone (✓), however didn't value them more than tools or prizes (✓).
I didn't see any real aggressive behavior from Lila beside akumatizations (✓), but on its own I think it's enough evidence, that she has this disorder (and not the many that she claimed). In normal aggressive way Lila didn't show herself (like physical violence, loud angry outbursts, big fits in front of everyone) yet, rather she uses Akumatization to hide that kind of behavior (when Adrien tried to stand up she became willingly Chameleon, or the Heroe's Day, or Oni-Chan). So her Akumatised forms and helping to Hawkmoth are the evidences that she has aggressive behavior, however they are not the classic forms (but we also can remember the threatening in the bathroom, but I think that was more intimidation and showing her superiority then pure aggressiveness).
And I wanted that recreate and strengthen this 'fact' a little bit so it would be more obvious than in the show.
Ninth day
In the comics there are so many take on Bruce Wayne it's kind of hard to count it. We could list the Batman persona, when he kind of let his children do what they want within his no-kill-rule (like living alone at fourteen with bunch of other teenager - 'Teen Titans' or 'Young Justice' or as it looks like to go rough - Robin, Red Hood). And there is the obvious martyr-parent take, when he has to know everything about his children, but he is always silent about the important things ('Death of the family' - 'Batman and Robin: Born to kill' - 'The Hunt for Robin'). And one of my favorites the worried-tired father take, when he is kind of showing his emotions and trying to love his kids ('Super Sons' - 'Robin Rises' - 'Prelude to the Wedding: Nightwing vs. Hush' ...).
And I decided to use the last with a more active take from the first (like he lets everyone do their thing but he is monitoring them within reasons). In the comics there are many accusations about being someones father (with Julie Madison or Mariah Shelley), and here in my take he is trying to be responsible (for the sake of his children, mainly for Damian and Jason) and checks every claim out personally (so they also can do DNS test).
Tenth day
Alya Césaire is a complicated someone in the show. At first she is portrayed as a fierce helper for the protagonist, Marinette. She is stubborn and reckless, but royal to her best friends.
Then came Lila and the makers sharpened her stubborn tunnel vision. This I saw it first at the 'Lady Wifi' episode, when she clearly didn't remember about the first day, when Ladybug saved Chloé (or ignored it). After that she always fixated on 'Adrienette' (or everything else if it's interesting - Dark Cupid) when the girl, herself had other things to do (Princess Fragrance, Puppeteer 2, Reflektdoll 2, Timebreaker). So it was not that big surprise when her tunnel vision turned to Lila, and she (and everybody in her class) forgot about that they all met Jagged Stone and with his crocodile already.
Yeah, it's all true, however unlike Lila, Alya didn't show any other big social flaw. And she is 14 years old and middle child, which is kind of important in someone personality. She has to be a mature figure and a little child at the same time in her sibling's eyes. She has to compete attention in their parents eyes and be smart about it.
Moreover if we look at the Collège Françoise Dupont's students, they are all spoiled, not just Chloé or Lila or Adrien. Yes, they are not that bad like the three, but they are all sheltered to a certain degree. Their family don't have financial problems (famous chef, designers, mayor, famous bakery, curator in the most famous museum, police officer, famous pantomime, ...), plus they are all in a prestigious school where they can't meet people with everyday problems (and rich spoiled kid is not an everyday occurrence in my country). And beside some vision problems (Max, Sabrina) they are all healthy and the first time to meet a disability is when Lila arrived. So it's natural if they don't really know how to interact right with her (putting aside that whole lie thing).
And I think they, especial Alya, need first a little life experience, before they could be called responsible about their acts. And here I am trying to write it this kind of way, where they are all flawed, but they can learn from it.
Human being can be shallow and not perfect. These children only heard one perspective from Lila, and another from Marinette. In the show the makers not exactly specified about how well the classmates know Marinette and how depth Marinette and Alya friendship is, so there is already some trust issue.
Like yeah all of they are going to concerts, cinema, each others, however they didn't show so far any serious conservation between them (maybe the only exception is Adrien-Marinette combo). Until this year when Adrien and Alya got transferred in the class, the classmates don't even help Marinette with Chloé bullying. And one year friendship - how beautiful is it tho - is not that depth and stable, especially with that many secrets they have. And Lila 'charming' personality came into this still fragile relationship at the right time to prove this.
I am not saying that the makers is doing good to simplifies the relationships. Because rather they missed so many ziccers for the sake of promote new hero designs and the overwritten romantic scene, it's physical hurting me. But they are right that we are talking sheltered-traumatized-too naive kids, who sometimes had unearned magic powers (looking at Chloé, Alya, Kim).
And I didn't ever going the length of mentioning the adult characters. It's an other kind of wormhole.
Marinette was the only one who openly disobeyed Lila's wants. She stands up against her lies in the public so she is a real obstacle for Lila. While Adrien is only trying in the background without any witness (I don't say it's bad, because with some case it's better, but not here), and the boy is too valuable to Lila.
Lila already showed in the series she didn't stop with the lies and she is brave enough to ruin someone carrier with them (Marinette - 'Ladybug', Nathalie and Gorilla - 'Oni-Chan', Alya - 'Volpina'). And Adrien watched all of it in the front seat, and he kind of knows that Lila's main target here to discredit and broke Marinette/Ladybug (and Adrien, himself also, but it's his perspective and he is very sheltered and naive about it).
And this story she got another one to ruin. Bruce Wayne, himself. And as her fake charming side melts away in her anger as she is focusing more and more on her targets.
Eleventh day
Speed Force is one of the Seven Forces of the Universe. It grants the power of the speedsters. And some of them merged with it (for example Barry Allen). Speed Force has a direct connection to the time flow and with the Multiverse (or now Omniverse). The biggest event of it is the Flashpoint (2011) which started the New52 era. And Batman doesn't want to mix this kind of force with a really mysterious ancient magic.
Nightrunner's first appearance was in 2011 in Detective Comics Annual #12. Within the Batman Incorporated line Bruce recruited Bilal Asselah, French-Algerian citizen to represent Batman in Paris. Here he is a mentor/background assistant to the Team Miraculous and a representative of Batman Inc.
Fourteenth day
Wang Fu is not the most mature character in the show and I think it says it all. Being an 186 years old is the Great Guardian after he accidentally destroyed the temple, he is kind of shameful and amateur. And if we contrasted him with Batman... yeah. Batman is NOT happy and takes the control from the old master.
Fifteenth day
I know Cyborg, alias Victor Stone is currently shown as a founding member of the Justice League (since 2011), however I am prefer him more in the Titans. And it's not just because of the animation show form 2003, but also in the comics he is more himself with the first Titans then with the -all mighty- Justice League. And I also wanted him to have a little cameo in this story because in the Super Sons (2017-) he was kind of like a babysitter for the boys. And to me it's kind of funny how many times the bats short circuited him (Robin Rises, Super Sons: Parent Trap, ...).
Sixteenth day
Damian Wayne is a complicated character. For ten years he was teached to kill. He only learnt about his mother at eight. He only learnt about his father at ten. Thalia used him for anything from power play to plotting someone death. Bruce loves him, but he is so moronic about his own emotions it's kind of painful to read sometimes. And there is the thing where Damian is never enough, his mother cloned him (Heretic), his father has other wards (mainly Red Robin). Dick Grayson went incognito spying when the boy had finally a healthier relationship (Grayson: The Superspy). His best friend, Jon Kent was suddenly older then him (2018 Superman #16). Alfred was killed in front of him (2016 Batman #77). Yeah, Damian is a jerk, but he has every right to be a jerk in my opinion. And I wanted that recreate here as Lila is a liar and threatening his 'only' position as a blood son. His only weapon to prevent it to have a fit and doing what was teached to him.
I have no excuse on this, just saw the prompt and wrote. inspired by @virgil-is-a-cutie‘s post where Marinette was from Gotham and moved to Paris, many liberties taken on timeline though, and with @justafanwarrior‘s comment on it
-
Marinette blinked a few times when her parents told her the first time that her grandfather on Papa’s side died, and they were going to move into his old bakery.
She was twelve.
She was getting ready for Tim (who’s elven and should not be allowed follow Robin without backup). She just finished working on a bit of embroidery for his suit when the Wayne Gala came up.
She didn’t know how to feel other than dread. (new country, language lessons, culture shock, losing her friends, her connections, her room and so much more).
She was quiet, nodded, and got ready for bed on time.
She whispered about it to Tim, who she watches out for. Because he’s small, an idiot with a very nice camera and she has to. Its her job to—she caught him when he almost fell and they were ten and nine. Like Jason caught her once. (She was so much smaller then, barely remembered the place but she slipped and Jason Todd caught her and told her to always watch her step because no one else will do it for her. well, she decided that she would watch hers and other people’s. because someone should, so why not her?)
She hadn’t seen Jason for years though. She knew he’s a Wayne now, but Waynes and Drakes have some weird rivalry thing and the Dupain-Chengs cater for the Drakes. So she hasn’t seen him in their neighborhood, not around her family’s business (or her ‘Uncle’ Oswald’s) or anywhere really.
Instead she saw Tim who she decided a long time ago was hers to watch out for.
She couldn’t take him to Paris though.
Tim didn’t like it any more than her. They both know they can’t stop it.
But Marinette made sure he was better at looking out and watching before she left.
It was a year of renovations to make the bakery and house above ready for them. Marinette was moved in the summer. She hugged Tim tight before she left, on one of their rooftop runs for fun (the memory, their last run ever) rather than BatWatch.
They didn’t know Robin saw them  for a moment and was ready to give them a Big Lecture, because why would they? They were just moving to breathe, moving to scream in silence and ignore everything they don’t get to control. They were roof top running to have some control in a situation neither of them had any.
Marinette and Tim dropped down to her house, since it was over… for good.
“No going out there again since I can’t go too.”
Tim nodded, crying against her. She cried tooo. They both hated it.
Marinette moved to Paris the next day, beginning of summer. Beginning of the extra crazy as Gotham summers were always ripe with more rogues and more time and more ‘help’ than the rest of the year.
Marinette missed it. She was in Paris helping her parents do a grand opening. It was a success. Maman was glad they got out of Gotham, murmuring it would be better for Marinette. Marinette disagreed, but didn’t contradict her or Papa who was so much happier in Paris than in Gotham. He missed his home city.
(Marinette missed Uncle Oswald showing up at random to make sure no one was doing anything ‘untoward’ to her or people she said he should help. Paris seemed to have a different breed of ‘untoward’ that were well hidden. No one kept them in check. No Batman here to try, no Uncle Oswald to warn her, and no Jason to remind her to watch out for herself.)
On the first day of school Marinette was thrown into being a superhero. Ladybug—she should have used Ladybird or Coccinelle because it was so American but she panicked and now she’s a very American Named Hero of Paris. She prayed no one made the connection.
When Jason Todd died and made the news in the middle of her first year, she cried. A lot. She was Ladybug and couldn’t afford to be akumatized but her parents knew that even if Jason wasn’t around for her since she was little, that she kept those memories close, kept those pictures and wished him the best. They were grieving too—he was almost their son (they tried so hard to get him to stay, but he didn’t want to. He had a mom to care for and Marinette should have asked Uncle Oswald for help when Catherine looked off to her but she didn’t. She was seven and Jason begged her not to say anything so she didn’t.)
She was doing good as Ladybug. (more like putting out fires than fixing the problems, but she did only have observing Batman and Robin to go off of, and none of what she saw was the detective work.) She took down akumas, was working on becoming a good guardian in the future (the kwami admitted she and Chat were the only candidates… the temporary heroes weren’t even in the running) and becoming a better designer. (She now works for Jagged and Clara on the design itself, they have official seamstresses that build her creations to her standards and specifications. She handles the fittings and adjustments when her schedule allows.)
Then Lila showed up and Marinette didn’t get how they didn’t see through the lies. Marinette will admit her lies in French are just… bad. Thankfully they all write it off as her mistranslating her thoughts and her speaking five languages (English, Italian, Spanish, French and Mandarin) rather than it being an attempt at lying. She’s better in English, okay?
But Lila’s were outrageous, even for their school. Maybe it was Gotham, (Uncle Oswald murmuring how to spot a con and a manipulator a mile away, Jason reminding her to be suspicious of every good and too good deal offered, especially with nothing backing it) but she didn’t put too much into Lila on sight.
Then the Ladybug lying and things escalated.
Chloe caught the Drakes talking to one of the events her parents were catering to. Janet was inspecting Marinette’s latest work while Marinette let the woman analyze her choice before being dismissed with a “You have improved, but do try using that sewing machine for your seams next time.”
Tim had been standing with her and they were allowed to escape the crowd to catch up. Tim was not shocked to find out she’d taken to destroying people in Ultra Mecha Strike III on a city wide scale (she won) while Tim was working on more professional photos and debating taking up a sport to be more well rounded (he’s thinking baseball or track because of the running) and they both skirt around her design success because it could jinx it.
Not long after Chloe makes an effort to get along with Marinette. Marinette made a few things clear: she’s not a lackey and neither is Sabrina, that Chloe needs to stop using her family to get out of everything, and that Chloe needs to apologize for hurting people intentionally.
Unsurprisingly, this didn’t go over well the first time.
Sabrina did get close to Marinette instead (Marinette had no issue with this) and joined the girl gang.
Marinette was still skeptical (daughter of a cop versus anyone from gotham is a recipe for disaster) but so far Sabrina just needed to be given normal friend treatment en masses to calm down her obsessive tendencies. It may have reminded Marinette of Tim and his obessions. Kind of like how Marinette took to Alya (superhero obsessed like Tim, and protective like Jason) so she was quick to get used to her.
Chloe did make amends that year (slowly) and kept doing so.
Chloe and Marinette did agree on one thing: Lila is a scam and they didn’t want the class falling for it. So Marinette made suggestions to keep her friends on track for their interests (actually practice, don’t wait for opportunities) while Chloe took to openly opposing Lila as the one Lila can’t touch.
It kept Marinette safe from her attempted manipulations. Chloe was all for it—as Bustier isn’t able to cow Chloe the way Marinette knows the woman would try on Marinette. And language miscommunications could make her seem more complacent and get her in more trouble for not being as complacent as Bustier wants her to be.
Then came the anniversary. The first one. (and the one where Tim is a Wayne now, thanks to Janet passing and Jack being found negligent.)
Lila made the mistake of talking about Jason. Like he was nothing. Like he was a problem and rude and cruel. And a creep.
“I mean, not to speak ill of the dead but…”
“Then shut your trap.” Marinette stuck to Italian. Alya stiffened as Italian had become Marinette’s ‘I am emotional and need you to understand’ language as far as the class was concerned.
“Oh, I didn’t mean to be insensitive…” Lila said in an almost convincing act. Almost.
“Well you are Rossi,” Chloe glanced at Marinette, as she didn’t know what the connection to Jason was.
“I mean, its not like he was much than a…” Lila shut up as Marinette was stalking forward and this? this was not was Marinette was supposed to do. Throw a fit, make a fool of herself, something like that.
Marinette only saw someone trying to drag Jason through the mud. Everyone moved away when Marinette approached (like Uncle Oswald in a silent rage) and she didn’t quite remember what happened from there.
She did remember ending up at the principle’s office with her parents and Lila’s mom.
Who was finding out a number of lies Lila told and Marinette could feel a Talk coming on for her. (Good.)
But then it moved back to why they were there and Marinette saw red as “She was talking about Jason.”
Her parents stilled as that was (almost) family.
Maman was smiling too wide then as “What were you saying about him?”
Lila squirmed as she repeated words that were Wrong.
“She made it sound like he was nothing.”
Tom was the one that terrified them all then, turning to Miss Rossi. “So you mean to tell me your daughter was insulting a child who was murdered that my family was in the process of adopting before he vanished when his mother died and was taken in by the Waynes.”
Damocles paled as Miss Rossi had made it sound like she was getting back at Marinette for bullying her (something everyone but Bustier had denied vehemently. Especially Chloe and Chloe’s word outranked Lila’s) but with all of this… it seemed more like Lila was the issue.
Lila was trying to process the new information. Marinette was going to kill her was her conclusion.
“Miss Rossi could not have known of that connection,” Damocles said, eyeing the girl with something guarded.
It wasn’t more than a day later the school was introduced the Marinette’s uncle.
“Now, which of you is the one that angered my little birdie?”
Marinette groaned as she didn’t call him. Nor had her parents. (He was watching them then. Great. She thought that stopped when they left Gotham.)
Apparently terrorizing her classmates (and the school’s staff) was enough for him. Lila was now at juvie for truancy (the only charge that stuck) and away from Marinette.
She figured that was it.
It was not…
--
Six months later…
“Tim Tam?”
Tim grinned at her. “Hey Marebear!”
He was at Dupont, grinning like a loon at her. She said screw decorum and scooped him up and twirled as he is still too tiny.
“Okay, I love that you’re here but why?”
“Heard there was a problem in Paris you neglected to tell me about.” Tim gestured for them to go into the car behind him..
Heroes was her first thought. And Hawkmoth, but its Tim so heroes are his focus.
“I figured we were staying out of old habits.” She was a hero, not stalking them.
“We are.”
Marinette raised an eyebrow as she knew that tone, and it meant he had an idea. She slipped into the car with a wave to her classmates.
“What do you know,” she began with.
“Ladybug purifies and fixes, Chat Noir destroys. Good guys. Anything animal themed is a hero, expect Mayura. Bug themed besides Ladybug, Toss-up. Hawkmoth is who needs to go down.”
Marinette filled in the blanks on powers for public heroes. She shrugged on the blurred possible hero (MultiMouse) and let Tim rattle on and on.
“So I was thinking, why hasn’t anyone looked for outside help?”
Marinette blinked a bit as… “The Mayor was told it was a joke by Green Lantern when they asked for help the Stoneheart Army.”
Tim furrowed his brow. “Which one?”
“There’s more than one?”
“Hair color.”
“Weasely looking, that’s all I remember.”
“That was the ginger who is hated by the JL members, and should not count. Want me to ask Batman?”
“Should I be surprised the Waynes have him on call?”
Tim smiled at her, the one that they used when their parents told them to play and they went roof running and were never caught.
“Never mind. Do you need me to contact Ladybug or Chat Noir?”
“Well, I am talking to Ladybug.”
Marinette knew how to play this off. “And Batman and Brucie are the same person because the butts match.”
“Well, yeah, it would make being his Robin a little harder if they weren’t.”
Marinette took a deep breath before hitting Tim upside the head as “you idiot!”
“Hey, hey! Someone had to!”
“Nightwing!”
“Didn’t want to—not the way he needed!”
“I, urgh! Wait—then Jason—”
Tim softened. “Yeah.”
Marinette hit her head agains the back of the seat. “He told me to always watch out for myself and…”
Tim pressed his shoulder to hers. “I know.”
The rest of the ride was silent.
“How did you…”
“Ladybug, your new haircut and word that speech you made on your debut? A lot like what I found from Jason’s things.”
Marinette may have blushed. A bit. Okay, she had her heroes and hers didn’t wear scaly panties—wait. He did, she just didn’t know that at the time.
“No telling me Chat’s identity.”
“Haven’t figured him out yet, but I would love to see your theories on who hawkmomth could be.”
“Needs the funds to run a butterfly garden, and knowledge to do it in secret, local too, and probably a parent to a Dupont student.”
“That should narrow it down.”
--
A few weeks later, at fifteen years old, Ladybug and Chat Noir defeated Hawkmoth (with Robin playing intelligence, and refusing to take credit). Chat didn’t want to do the reveal after.
Marinette figured it out when he sneezed at a pigeon.
They met up still, but Chat needed a purpose and Marinette was the guardian. She and Tikki exchanged a look. Marinette called Tim.
“Hey Tim? Remember that group project you mentioned? I don’t think I can help, but I know someone who could use an invite…”
--
Marinette is sixteen when Red Hood makes a splash in Gotham. Tim was there at the time, so was Adrien.
She didn’t know what happened (they won’t tell) and she won’t press… them at least.
Uncle Oswald answered her questions. New crime lord, and he has a bone to pick with the Bats.
Marinette convinces her parents to let her stay in Gotham. Jagged offered his townhouse for when he’s on tour and she can’t go with (she has so many commissions, so no touring for her).
Chloe and Sabrina manage to convince their parents its okay. (Sabrina’s dad was a particularly difficult sell until Marinette’s Uncle Oswald offered to have them guarded by his men. In person. Marinette is convinced he has a team watching her at this point, and is glad she’s retired as Ladybug. It’d be dangerous if she wasn’t.)
Alya somehow got an internship in Metropolis (Marinette wasn’t glaring at Tim for that, she was disappointed he meddled so much Superman caught on and had his girlfriend offer the girl a spot.)
Nathaniel and Nino couldn’t make it for the summer, but both managed to visit.
Thankfully neither of those visits coincided with her own run-in with Red Hood. To be fair, it was at the old bakery location. Now run by a friend of Papa’s who uses a different set of recipes.
Marinette was there and making some of the old recipes for old time’s sake. One of the baker’s was from Papa’s staff before they left. Most of the new staff were a bit sketchy, but nothing that raised Gotham Red Flags.
She blinked a few times during the encounter as Red Hood burst in (it was still light out… she thought at the time) and paused when he saw her.
“You’re the old owner’s kid?”
She didn’t get what her family had to do until… Uncle Oswald. Great. Human Bait-time.
“Pretty sure the kid left town with her family.” Not a complete lie, but an easy deflection like Jason taught her. She’s not as snarky as him (as he was).
Red Hood, she couldn’t tell what that did for him (stupid Helmet) but he did grab what she was  and say “yeah, no way the kid would botch a macron like this.”
She really wanted to deck him for that one. As it was her specialty asshole.
He did leave after that and she may have told Jagged and Oswald she’s going to spend a week or two in NYC with Audrey to keep her mind off of it…
Then Tim had her over with Adrien (who Marinette is now convinced is a Wayne ward in all but name since he lives there now) and Just Their Luck, Red Hood decided to break into the Batcave.
Tim went off to defend it, and Marinette sighed as this is her life and she isn’t a hero anymore. Ladybug would be recognized and easily connected but…
“Trixx, Let’s Pounce!”
A fox hero? Unlikely. One illusion spell later (and Bruce, Tim, Alfred, Adrien suiting up) and Red Hood was knocked out.
Alfred was the one to tell her to stay up stairs as “This isn’t something you need to see Miss.”
She dropped the transformation and put her hands on her hips as “This guy tried to kill Tim who I’ve been keeping from dying since he slipped on a ladder in the middle of winter like an idiot. And is already looking for me.”
The group exchanged a look at that.
“How long?”
“He said I couldn’t be me because my macrons were wrong,” Marinette grumbled, ignoring the real question.
“He did what!” Adrien gawked at her.
“Marinette!” Tim was not happy.
Bruce was looking at her like she was the weird one.
“Oh no, you don’t get to look at me like that. I’m not the one fighting crime in as my fursona and teaching other people to do the same.”
Apparently Red Hood was not actually out cold. How does she know this?
He started laughing.
Bruce was sputtering, Alfred was unreadable, Tim was bring pink and Adrien was nodding along as he was one who started calling Batman and other heroes ‘the furrious furries’ when Batman and Robin were brought up as helping them with Hawkmoth over a year ago.
It was strange to think of it as a year ago.
(a year ago she thought Jason was dead, that Hawkmoth was impossible to find and still crushed on Adrien).
Now Jason is alive, Hawkmoth was defeated ages ago and that crush? Gone with that thing called distance and perspective.
Instead she was staring at the guy who broke into the Batcave and implied he was going to kidnap her two weeks ago, if she was herself, and didn’t because her macrons were ‘wrong’ when he clearly has no taste.
“Hey Pixie.”
Her brain shorted as… “Jason what the fuck.”
Her summer was a weird one. Jason was alive, Uncle Oswald and him were doing business, and since Marinette was in shock still, she went to Uncle Oswald’s unannounced (he tells her when he plans to be busy) so she walked in on Red Hood and him arguing over something and…
“Is this karma for helping Tim when I ten?”
Red Hood took one look at her, then Oswald, and it clicked.
“Pixie, why didn’t you tell me this Thing was your Uncle?”
“Mari dear, please tell me your association with this, this brute.”
“He came back from the dead and didn’t tell me,” Marinette told her Uncle as that she could process.
“Ah. That… explains nothing. Mari dear, we’ll talk about this later, feel free to go to the park until I send someone to fetch you.”
“No, I think Pixie will stay right here and find out what you do.”
Marinette did the logical thing one does when a dead almost-was-your-brother turns into a crime lord and is talking to your ‘Uncle’ who you know has a shady reputation.
Get the hell out of there.
She grabbed her things (she kept them in the suitcases just in case, because Gotham) and joined Uncle Jagged on tour because right now? She needed something a bit less insane. And Jagged qualified.
-
She would love to tell you she went after Red Hood, or helped Tim and Adrien, she would, but she’s the guardian and that means staying out of on-going wars of many kinds.
It also meant she was able to defend herself when Jason Fucking Todd decided to crash a Wayne Gala that Uncle Jagged and Uncle Oswald were insistent that she attend. Clara and Adrien and Tim joined in. Chloe and Sabrina and Alya combined forces to convince her to attend, while Nino consoled her with pats and good music.
Jason Fucking Todd announcing he’s alive at said Gala, and making a scene before chatting up Bruce and the Wayne Clan (There is new girl named Cass. and she did see a blond with Tim, she thinks its Steph but it could be one of his Titan Friends since she saw Superboy looking like less of a fashion disaster for once with a fast talking ginger that she’s pretty sure is the current Kidflash).
Marinette was so glad she was on the other side of the room, and out of the spotlight.
Jason Fucking Todd catching her the next day when she was getting coffee, was not in her plans.
“So, Pixie Pop, we have some catching up to do.”
And she is not bitter he vanished out of no where. That she thought he was dead when she was a little kid and mourned for months, only to find out he’s a Wayne now. Then not be allowed to see him because of the Wayne-Drake thing. Or that he really died for real and then came back without telling her. Or that he became a crime lord on top of it all and Tim a few scars that line up with what Oswald heard of Robin and Red Hood fights that were brutal.
Nope.
Not.
At.
All.
“We do, but I have an appointment already, and you already know how to contact me, so bye.”
He didn’t, but Tim did. And that meant he had to fix things there.
She’s not sure how to feel about her almost-brother and his attacks on Tim. She’s not sure how to process all of this but she can put some distance, right?
Wrong.
Jason Freaking Todd decided to make up some BS story about having taken time to get better and being grabbed by a goddamn cult and it took him time to escape. (Tim told her it was close to the truth the cult was some group called the League of Assassins… she just. Why. just why?)
Then he decided (re: Alfred Apparently knows Gina, who told Maman and Papa) to get her parents involved in making her talk to him.
How? How does he do this from another continent where he runs his (technical) criminal enterprise?
He just shows up after Tim figured what he was doing and told Alfred.
And now Marinette has to talk to her almost-brother-that-died when she’s elbows deep in a design rut and is far more willing to kick his ass than run (or think about talking to him).
“Pixie pop,” Jason grinned.
Marinette refused to respond on the principle. Her parents were downstairs, and she’s trying to make a nice silloutte but can’t and Fuck Off Jason.
“So, uh, I’m alive.”
“Uh huh.”
“I don’t kill people that don’t deserve it.”
She narrowed her eyes as “Tim.”
Jason scratched the back of his neck. “Okay, I was really messed up for a while.”
Marinette rubbed her forehead. “And.”
“You know of anything called the Lazarus Pitts.”
She did. Also they drive you insane (re: beyond reason) with one use.
“I was recovering from them and mostly have the Pitt Juice out of my system.”
“Bruce?” because he’s batman so what can’t he do at this point?
“A friend of his.”
Cryptic, but she doesn’t want to focus on him.
“So, what have you been up to?”
“Fashion.”
“Oh, what kind?”
Somehow she managed to soften a bit and give real answers. Maybe it was because Jason mentioned debating trying school and vigilantism (apparently he goes after abusers and drug lord and people who target kids and pregnant women and okay, she’ll check with Tim later and all for it being the truth but… she wants this to be real.
--
At seventeen Marinette meets a ten year old Damian Wayne, who is insistent Tim is not a Wayne.
Marinette is ready to throw hands with a teeny tiny assassin child.
Adrien is too.
Tim says he was just leaving, so Marinette makes the “mature” decision to follow him to San Fransico with Adrien on her heels.
They were not expecting Red Hood to show up a week into their stay (Uncle Oswald was expected to pop in and complain about her not being in Gotham, but Red Hood (not Jason but Red Hood)? Not on the list of visitors.
“So you’re telling me this kid tried to start shit with my Replacement?”
Marinette raised an eyebrow and nodded.
Red Hood told her to give him three weeks to fix it.
Somehow, it worked. And Apparently Nightwing was in the doghouse with some of his former teammates? She wasn’t sure how that worked.
She did know that Tim is sixteen, switched to Red Robin (she helped him design it as he’s bad at it and he wanted to look like he was 30 in his first design. 30. Just. No.) and said he had a thing to do.
Marinette and Adrien shared a look.
“I’ll watch the kwami.”
One list of kwami-care later, and Marinette switched to online classes for the year to keep her not-technically baby brother/her idiot out of trouble. Did she mention ninjas were involved? They were. it was a nightmare and she may have let Red Hood know about the League and he may have shown up to help her keep Tim from getting brainwashed.
Oh, and only at that point did anyone bother to tell her about Bruce being missing-missing not just Off-World or on a real vacation-missing.
Tim explained his hunch (because it is a hunch Timmy, and now we have a semi-solid theory) and she just sighs and calls Adrien to meet her in Gotham.
Fluff won’t tell them where (spell stops it) but confirms Bruce is lost in time. Jason is shocked, Dick and Damian are processing, Alfred is bordering on tears and Tim is victorious.
He also calls up the teen titans for help and they get Bruce—Tim and Adrien’s Father figure, not Batman.
She shakes her head and lets them have their reunion, kwami content at her side.
She goes back to Paris as its home now, and works on rebuilding the order in between nagging Tim about his health (he fears only her and Alfred apparently) and harassing Jason about doing his coursework (apparently she, Maman, Papa and Alfred are all effective there).
She’s able to say her parents were right about Paris being good for her, but she doesn’t think Gotham is bad for her.
hope you enjoyed!
Just Shy [Tim Drake x Reader]
Requested by anon: “Could you do one with Tim where the reader is really shy and because of that people think she's a snob but Tim and her get paired together on a project or something and they get to know each other and he finds out she's not really a snob”
A/n: I hope you like this! I made it a bit fluffy lol.
You have never been a person who has wanted to be the center of attention. Being the center of attention makes you uncomfortable, often times you prefer to just keep to yourself in the back of the classroom. People may try to attempt conversation, but your shyness just makes you clam up even more.
Many of your classmates think you’re being a snob or feel as though you think you’re better than them. But they couldn’t be more wrong, if they attempted to get to know you and be patient with your shyness, they’d learn you’re just not good around new people, when you are more comfortable around people you can actually be rather outgoing. However, no one has made that attempt. Making school a living hell.
Group projects were your worst nightmare, meaning the words “You’ll be in groups for this assignment” made your blood run cold. Your Physics teacher just announced you’d be making rockets out of water bottles, the groups were groups of two. Dread grew in you as the teacher began to list the pairs.
“Finally the last group will be [F/n] and Tim” the teacher announced, glancing you saw Tim Drake looking back at you, a kind smile on his face. You didn’t mind him, he’s always been nice to you. He’s even stuck up for you before when some kids were talking shit about you. You didn’t witness it but heard it through the gossip of the high school.
As soon as the teacher finished the explanation of the project the bell rang. “Alright everyone, this is due by Monday. Have a great weekend and stay safe.” Your teacher yelled as students began to file out of the room. It being last period and everyone was eager to hang out with their friends.
Packing up your things, but noticing the figure come up in front of you. Peering up you saw Tim standing there. He smiled at you, “I guess we’re partners.” You simply nodded in response, your books hugged to your chest. “Um, if you’re not busy today we could start on the project tonight.” he offered, unsure of how you’d respond.
“I uh.” Your voice was barely audible. “I don’t have plans”
“Alright, will it be okay with your parents?” He asked, nodding in response he grinned wider. You could tell he was excited for this project, Tim was probably the smartest kid in the school. This was right up his alley. “Awesome, I can give you a ride if you like? My ride should be here.” Tim pointed out of the classroom door.
“S-sure” stuttering before he lead you out of the school. You followed him up to a black town car with a older looking man standing outside of it.
“Hey Alfred” Tim called as you lagged behind him. “Hello Master Timothy, are you prepared to return to the manor?”
“Sounds good, oh and Alfred this is [F/n] we’ve been paired up for a project. She’s coming over and we’re going to work on it.” Tim explained while gesturing to you. Alfred’s eyes fell on you, “Oh, it’s a pleasure to meet you Miss [F/n]” he nodded to you. Though your voice caught in your throat as you diverted your eyes. He seemed a bit shocked at your reaction, but Alfred must have known it was due to shyness. He smiled at you softly, “No need to be shy Miss [F/n], we don’t bite. As long as you steer clear of Master Damian.” Alfred said as Tim let out a laugh. Your eyes widened as you looked over at Tim worried. “Don’t worry he’s kidding” Tim assured before showing you into the car.
You watched out the window as the car drove out of the city. Blocking out the conversation Tim was having with Alfred. Nervously you fiddled with the hem of your skirt or the button of your uniform. You felt as if you should say something but just couldn’t, you were scared you would say the wrong thing. You’re currently in a town car with the handsome son of a billionaire. What were you going to say? You’re simply the the daughter of working class parents who is going to Gotham Academy on a academic scholarship. This isn’t really your normal.
Tim noticed your nervousness, he always heard from classmates that you’re a snob. Though you don’t seem that way. A snob wouldn’t have averted Alfred’s gaze the way you did. A snob would’ve rolled their eyes at his gesture, you just.. shrunk. Tim doesn’t know much about you, only that you’re smart. Second in your class, him being the first. He always had found you intriguing. You’re an unknown variable that he could never solve by just observing you. So, the minute you sat in the car he decided he would make it a mission to get to know you better.
When Alfred pulled through the gate of the manor he noticed you tense. The sheer size of the manor was enough to make you uneasy. What are you going to do about its occupants? Tim cut into your nervousness, “Don’t worry it’s not as intimidating as it looks.”
“Says the one who lives there” you whisper to yourself, catching Tim off guard. You didn’t mean for him to hear it, and he realized that you didn’t notice he had. Though he felt you must be getting a bit more comfortable for you to say something sassy. Hell, he’s barely heard you speak. After putting the car in park Alfred opened your door, you held onto your bag strap tight. Anxiety beginning to fill your body.
Hesitantly you followed Tim up to the door. Alfred left again in the town car, saying he had some errands to run. He pushed the door open only to hear the sound of arguing. Tim showed you in before looking in the living room to see Dick pestering Damian as Jason sat by laughing. “What are you guys doing?” He asked raising an eyebrow.
“Grayson will not stop his incessant singing!” Damian yelled glaring at his oldest brother. Dick only began to sing ‘Hakuna Matata’ even louder. He must’ve recently watched Lion King. Jason just laughed, enjoying the pain this was inflicting on Damian. Though they were both shocked when they heard Dick come to a stop, following his stare behind Tim.
“Oh my god! Tim brought home a girl!” Dick cheered, making you jump. “Wow Timmy Bird didn’t think you had it in ya” Jason teased.
Tim’s face caught fire at his brother’s comments. “It’s not like that!” he yelped, embarrassment flushing over him. Your state not much better. “Well you should make it like that, she’s cute!” Dick whispered with a wink. Tim only groaned before facing you, “Sorry about them, we can work in my room” apologizing before showing you up the stairs.
You were embarrassed yes, but for some reason you were beginning to feel more comfortable. Maybe it was because of the fact you weren’t the only embarrassed one. “Sorry it’s a bit of a mess” Tim said before throwing some scattered papers on his desk. You took note of the amount of coffee cups he had scattered around. “I-it’s okay” you answered, only with a slight stutter. Hey! Progress!
You cleared your voice, deciding to face your shyness a bit. “S-so, you like coffee I see.” Tim was caught off guard, were you making conversation? He smiled before chuckling, “Yeah, my family thinks I have a problem. Do you?” Asking while placing his bag on his desk. You shrugged, “Sometimes.”
“So uh, let’s get started” he said while pulling out the assignment and his laptop. Hesitantly you sat next to him. He began to explain different designs and ways to make it go the farthest. You both fell into a rhythm. Beginning to become comfortable with him, your amount of talking increased by the minute. It didn’t take you both long to hash out an idea and begin to building process. You were done by the time Alfred was back from his errands.
Alfred came to the door at one point but heard you both talking. Deciding to leave you be he let you both continue. You and Tim had gotten to talking about things outside of school, learning a lot about each other, and that you have a lot in common. But he was waiting to touch on a certain subject.
“Hey, um, I mean you don’t have to answer this but [F/n] what makes you so shy?” Tim asked curious yet uncertain. You looked away, hiding your face from him. “I um. I was bullied in middle school, vowed when I got to high school I wouldn’t do anything to get myself picked on again. Gotham Academy didn’t have any of my old classmates so I just didn’t attempt to make friends. I was scared if I did history would repeat itself.”
Tim nodded in understanding. “I get it, but [F/n] you’re really amazing. You’re smart and talented, you shouldn’t be afraid to be who you are. I mean I’m smart to and people are usually kind.” He smiled, trying to reassure you.
“People are more comfortable around you! You’re smart, and funny, and cool, and good looking.” Blurting out without thinking. Immediately embarrassed you covered your mouth blushing. His face was just as crimson, scratching the back of his neck nervously, “You think I’m good looking?”
Blushing more you threw shyness to the wind and nodded. “I uh I do. Sorry that was weird for me to blurt out. I guess I’m just not used to talking.” laughing nervously. “Oh no no don’t apologize! I um, I actually feel that way about you.”
“You do?” asking him astonished. He chuckled at your shocked expression, “Yeah I do. What would you say to doing something this weekend? Since we already have the project finished.”
“I um” smiling sheepishly “I just.” You looked up at him, meeting a hopeful look in his eyes. Gulping down your nerves, answering “I would love to.” He allowed a wide grin onto his face, nervousness flushing out of his system.
You both were grinning at each other before a knock on the door interrupted you. “Master Timothy, dinner will be ready within the hour. Should we expect Miss [F/n] to be joining us?” You and Tim exchanged a look before you spoke, “I uh, I should actually be getting home soon. My parents will be expecting me for dinner.” Your more comfortable tone catching Alfred off guard.
“I will happily give you a ride to your home Miss [F/n].” Alfred smiled at you, happy to see you’ve come out of your shell. “Master Tim I suggest you prepare for dinner and for tonight” Alfred said before going to get the car.
You packed up your things before pulling your bag over your shoulder. “I guess I will text you” Tim questioned, walking you to the front door. “Yeah, I’d like that” smiling shyly at your feet before he opened the door for you and allowed you out.
He beamed when closing the door. Looking into the living room to see Dick and Jason smirking at him, “Timmy’s got a date” Jason teased as Dick laughed. “He took our advice for once, and now he’s got the girl. We should have an advice column”  Dick looked over to Jason who chuckled. Tim just shook his head and rolled his eyes, “I hate you both.”
Hey! I just read your billionarechild!Dick and racecardriver!Jason story, and I love it, as well as your writing style. My prompt surrounds the A/O/B universe in which Timothy(beta), Jason(alpha), Damian(alpha) fight over Dick(omega). --Extra optional ideas would be: Jason gluing Damian to the ceiling, Tim baking Dick cookies, Jason seducing Dick with his scent, Dick hiding from them by using Bruce as cover, Alfred secretly shipping them together, and a wonderful foursome-- anyways, thanks!
Haha, okay, I know I should have posted this way long ago, and I’ m such a shitty writer for making the owner of this prompt waited this long, sorry about that, I had… still have a crazy schedule for classes and a marketing campaign waiting ahead. Just for you to know, it took me one week to fight down the embarrassment to write the porn part, one week!
You should give me some credit, the old me would have written any.
The art of courting
(Word count: 3,245)
To read it on AO3: potato
In a wolf pack, there were various subordinates, who dominated the omega. The omega was the lowest. It was the baby-sitter and usually more puppy than wolf. The same worked for the Wayne’s pack. Everyone who had met Dick thought he was a complete sugar cone covered in maple syrup besides from being sex on the stick (except when you pissed him off, nobody wanted to go down that road). Diana once said Dick had stolen all the light from others in his pack for being a walking sunlight living in the Cave of Bats and brooding men. Normally, the alphas would only take about ten to twenty percent of the pack, because a kingdom only needed one king. However, though, life wasn’t just that simple, at least in Gotham, in a particular abnormal family.
“Go snarl at your zoo, Demon Brat. I’m not giving the phone to you!” Jason grunted and only one step away from baring his teeth toward the boy’s neck.“Why would Grayson want to waste his breath on a failure like you, Todd. I demand you to hand me the phone, right now!” “He called me, prick! Me!” “He asked about me!”
The two continued to scream at each other like a couple of 4 years old fighting for a toy. Dick’s voiced out in confusion and worry from the speaker of the cell phone in Jason’s hand. Damian’s attempt to jump on the older man’s shoulder and snatch the device away successfully made Jason swing around and groan like a lunatic.“Get off me, you fuck!” “What’s going on!!?” Dick’s muffled voice spoke out from the phone.“Oh, don’t worry. It’s nothing.” Jason sounded so light and casual it made the scene looked ridiculous as he shoved his palm at a clinging Damian’s face when the boy reached both of his hands out for the phone.“Richard! Todd is bullying me! I need you! When will you be home?”
Jason flushed a beat red when he saw Damian’s evil smirk.“You little…”   “Jason! What did I just hear?” Dick voiced exploded through the speaker and Jason counted down from 10 to 1 just to suppress the need to choke Damian with his bare hands.
The war was on.
“Dick! Welcome home.” Tim flashed a thousand waltz smile at he took Dick’s bag away from his hand and gave the man a tight hug.“Hey there, baby bird.”
Tim laughed at the nickname, no matter how much he had outgrown Dick, Tim would always be his “baby bird”.  “How was the flight?” He asked as he led Dick to the kitchen instead of his room or Bruce’s office to greet the man. Tim got his plan, his own strategy of winning the Omega’s heart and everything must work. He had been waiting for chances like this since the first day he saw the older man on the trapeze with his family, there was no way he was gonna let this opportunity down without a fight, because, apparently, there were two imbecile Alphas in this house who didn’t know there reaches and limits at all.“It was exhausted. I got jetlag, and the man sitting behind me just kept talking nonstop throughout all the flight.” Dick flopped down to the marble table, looking tired and sleepy. The sight was kicking Tim’s feeling and even with the instinct of a Beta not as strong as an Alpha, he still ached to reach out and pull the Omega into his chest, and just protect him from stupid petty things like that.“You should have let Bruce pay for the flight.” Or him, or Damian, or Jason, for hell anyone in this family could have definitely bought the whole plane for him, even Dick with his parents’ fortune. “Nah, I’m fine with the economy seat.”
Of course he was, he always was. And that made Tim loved him more than ever.“Anyway, I’ve got a surprise for you. I hope it can make you feel better.” He turned to the fridge and opened it, smiling at Dick because God knew how the eldest could only see emotional affection when it got shoved up his face.“You’re always so caring, Timmy.”
Only when it came to you.
But Dick didn’t need to know that, at least not yet.
“I learned from the bes−”
Empty.
It was empty…
How the #&*@^ could it be empty!!!?His dish full of dark chocolate Pistachio sea salt cookie and chocolate mint thumbprints, WHERE WERE THEY???????????!
“Tim?”
Dick called out when Tim slammed his forehead on the nearest tray of the fridge, eyes dry and threatened to fall out as he continued to stare at the empty spot where he had written in his heart to leave the cookies there.His first ever attempt to cook and now it had flown to nowhere. Bruce wouldn’t eat anything if it was not shoved at his face, couldn’t be Alfred either, the man wouldn’t touch anything other than his own hand made food. Cass and Harper hadn’t been home for a while, and Duke got this Gluten allergy that he desperately hid from others because apparently only he thought it was embarrassing. Who could have…
Those two imbeciles.
“Timmy, are you okay?” Dick’s hand was on his shoulder and he got that concern in his butter voice that made Tim want to melt down the floor.New plan, he needed to think of something else right now! This was his golden chance, Dick got his full attention on him, and Bruce was out at work, Alfred went for grocery, Jason and Damian were God knew somewhere, biting their heads off. No one could interfere them now.“My surprise.”
He snatched his head out of the fridge and wrapped a hand around Dick’s waist, pulling him chest flat to him and kicking the fridge door close with the back of his foot.Point score for being awesome, Timothy Drake.
Dick’s eyes went to the size of saucer and the small gape between his lips was making the wolf inside Tim chasing its own tail.“My welcome home kiss, Dick.”
Yes, this was perfect, he was a genius, of course he was a genius! He should have thought about this before but who knew, improvisation beat the unpredictable predicament.Dick was flushing, and that was a total buff to Tim’s self-esteem. For all he had met, none could win over the cuteness of this Omega, and this was coming from the second Greatest Detective. How sweet things had turned to be…
BANG!
Out of all reason, Tim never could possibly think this perfect perfect moment could be cut by a cast iron in the head. But ouch, it did, and it hurt, a lot.“What are you doing to my sexy Batman!”
Steph stepped over the body of a groaning Timothy Drake on the floor and decided to drop the heavy kitchen subject right on his head, knocking out what was left of the male Beta’s consciousness.“I saved you, Dick! You see that? I saved…”
When she turned back to look at her supposed to be damsel in distress, Dick was gone, leaving behind hurry thuds of footstep in the hall way that he didn’t even bother to hide.
Jason watched around as he slowly sneaked out of the guest room and closed the door as quiet as possible. Time like this did the all Bat training and Robin school come in handy. Now, back to the main course, today was the day. Dickie was back from his 2 months mission with the Titans and probably going to pop his bouncy feet in this place at any second, Alfred and the B man were both out, thank fucking God, that test tube incubus was handled, and now there were only one target left to wipe out of his way, the swan princess. Or ex-swan princess now that Tim decided to put on the green, red and yellow because Old man didn’t make him Robin so why not making his own suit and just stick another R in the chest then stand next to the Bat like everyone wouldn’t give a fuck.No, actually, fuck that, not that he had ever given any fuck about all the weird shit in this family, the only reason why he was here today was because a certain bird was back, and that certain bird was happened to be someone Jason used to think about when jacking off, a lot, while he was still that “Hello, sir” kind of boy when Bruce first took him in, and someone he had tried to court for God knew how long since he came back and had all but turned into that “Even your Daddy calls me Daddy too” kind of guy.
Speaking about it, he should probably call Dick to check on him. The guy had taken a plane from Chicago back here and probably had jetlag due to his poor stomach and crap living habits.It wasn’t that Jason was a neat freak, or that he cared… no, fuck that, he wasn’t some teen boy in denial shit, he was a grown ass man now and he got his shits together, he probably cared more that he had ever thought he would let himself to in the past or even the future. But he did, he did and that sacred the fuck out of him but who cared, Jason Todd could take down armies of aliens and League of Assassin’s soldiers, that blew up 16 years old boy with a puppy crush ain’t gonna stop this him now from reaching what he wanted.
His nose picked up a familiar scent that had put the 13 years old him into his first ever rut, and crap, even this 23 years old Jason now could still have a hard on for it.Dick’s ringtone was surprisingly near and in mere minute, there he was, his puberty’s nightmare, dressed in ripped jeans, white rolled up sleeve t-shirt and those black combat boots that Jason knew was his gift to the older men from last Christmas. Shit, his dick needed to shut up!
“Jay!” Dick pulled him into a hug that tight enough to make Jason uncomfortable and push him off because there was no need to make his boner more obvious. Dick, the forever idiot he was, didn’t know how much he could possibly screw a person’s mind, frowned and fucking pouted when being pushed away from his chest.“At least Damian let me hug him probably.”
Now didn’t that poke Jason at his itch spot.“Hey, maybe he’s just waiting for an opportunity to bite your head off.”“Ha ha.” Dick made a non emotional laugh as he arched his eyebrows at Jason. “Anyway, I’m glad to see you here, Jay.”
He could feel… could practically see that Dick wanted to ask why he was here, but he didn’t let it out, neither did Jason push it. Dick didn’t know the real answer, and Jason wasn’t in the mood for any shitty excuse. It wasn’t like he didn’t come to the Manor every once a month, making sure everyone was still fine, or at least alive, he didn’t turn off any invitation either, if they came from Dick or Alfred. Dick’s gaze shifted down and this time, he was the one to step back. It was then that Jason realized they hadn’t really back off each other’s personal space after the hug. Dick got that little pinkish on his cheeks and his eyes were a little heavy like something was slowly drugging him.It took a moment for Jason’s head to tick, but when it did, it made him smile, then the smile turned to a smirk, and it just kept widen as he realized it was his scent that caused Dick to look like that. Jason was fairly aware that being a high-ranked Alpha meant that he could weaken Omegas’ knees just by walking pass them. Roy once complained that his scent was strong enough to even irritate another close by Alphas. If one thing the Pit did good, was that it leveled up his cast and enhance his scent, turning him completely into a predator, a weapon fueled by anger and revenge.
“Um… Jay?” Dick took another step back as he stared up at Jason with wide eyes, watching his brother slowly towered over him. “Hum? Is there a problem, Dickie?” He leaned on further, ready to back Dick up the wall and trap him under his frame. Jason was being a douche and totally loved every moment of it.“J… would you move, please?” Dick was looking down now and it must certainly feel wrongly pleasurable for an Omega to stand this close to an Alpha like him.“Nah, I think I like the view too much.” Jason would be lying if he didn’t admit that being this near to Dick affected him too. Dick had always smelled good, not in an Omega way, but in his own way. The sweetness from him got Jason’s skin tickle and his stomach hot. And Dick was definitely not looking much better.Who cared, maybe he could just sway Dick like this, using his scent and hey, maybe with this way, Dick would actually pay him a little more attention, now that he had realized his Little Wing was not so little anymore…
SniZZ!
“What the…?”
Jason stayed stone dead as Dick waved his hand around the mist he had just sprayed on Jason, his face expressionless. “You’re too close.” That blush had disappeared and Dick got that teasing smile and cocky eyes back on him. Jason could feel, could smell that his scent had gone off, nothing was left around the air anymore. “Did you just fucking spray a scent blocker on me!!?” “… Maybe??!” Dick chirped, face wasn’t looking shameful at all.“Fu… you…!!!” “Relax, it’s a gift from Donna. She said it’s very effective, especially on hot head Alphas…” He stopped to take a sniff. “Couldn’t agree more.”“But I’m…” Jason snapped, and stopped a moment to suck on his cheeks until he knew how to put it together. “Well. I’m me! Why the hell did you think you would need that stupid thing around me?!!!”Dick shrugged, pursing his lips like he had no idea how that did things to Jason.“To be fair, I did tell you to step back. You looked like you were about to bite me in the neck.” Well, damn right if that was what he’d always wanted so far.“Hey, can’t blame the guy. You smell pretty great.” “You think so?”“Dickie, I know so.” He caught Dick chin with his fingers and lifted his face up, staring back at those wide blue eyes. “I know so.”
Jason Todd could be a chessy fuck when needed.  Unfortunately, Dick seemed to have none of that as he ducked under his arm and slipped right out of Jason’s frame. “Nice to see you too, brother.” Jason could feel the last word was heavily emphasized. “Now, would you excuse me, I’ve got to…”“Wait! Not that door−”
Too late, Dick opened it and didn’t take near 5 seconds to glare up and realized the odd.“JASON!!! Why is Damian taped to the floor!!!”
Well fuck.
“Dick.”“Bruce.”“How was the flight?” Bruce took a deep breath and tried to act it normally.“It was fine. How was work?”“Nothing out of my hand.”“Great.” Dick chirped.“Great.” He muttered back, unknowing what else to say. “Dick…”“Don’t.”“Dick,”“No.”Bruce sighed.“Dick, why are you hiding on my back?”
Dick let out a series of muffle noise from behind, face pushed flush against the plain of his suit. It wasn’t like carrying the weight of a full grown muscular vigilante was much of a deal for Bruce, oh no, it couldn’t be. And it wasn’t because of the fact that Dick was a fresh, young, and untaken Omega, it could never be because of that. “Dick, again,” He cleared his throat. “What makes you think there’s wrong with your brothers?”  “It was all your fault.” Dick mumbled. “They grew up so fast.”
Down the hall, the sound of Titus and Ace racing in speed force toward them echoed to every corner… oh, his mistake, it was just his sons.
“Dick!” Tim yelled like he was afraid the dead wouldn’t be able to hear him. “I made another batch, taste my blood and sweat, they sacrificed for love!!!” The boy, with raven nest hair and black stains all over his face like someone had just dragged him out of a blown off building, wearing Alfred’s apron and oven mitt, laughed maniacally while pushing a fresh-baked cookie tray on both of his hands ahead toward his direction.“Don’t taste anything from this failure of a replica, Richard. It will poison your stomach!” Damian screamed as he jumped forward, holding a velvet box with a non-mistaken shiny diamond ring inside. “Marry me, beloved. And together, we shall rule the world!”“Don’t listen to those idiots! I showered 3 times, sniff me now! Hear my Alpha roar!!!”
Bruce almost faint when the sight of a half-naked Jason running with Damian and Tim toward his place like a pack of wildebeest hit his eyes.
“Hyaa, run Bruce, run!” Dick grope his suit and kicked his sides.
What on Earth had he done wrong in raising them??!
Heat was a bitch, and suppressants were not always on the doctor’s top suggestion, so times like this did lead Dick to the Manor for a short time, temporary hiding away from crime and all the responsibilities, because those three combined was never a good formula except for making disaster.However, Dick did not expect this.
“Open your mouth, cutie.” Jason whispered hoarsely as he bit on Dick’s lower lip, making him jump in surprise when that ruthless tongue swept inside and stirred everything up.
Tim’s hands lowered down to Dick’s navel and slowly rubbed small circles around the small bump that was his and Jason’s cock. Dick hissed and wrinkled around, head afloat and eyes half closed. He was high, way too high. And this was all their fault.Did he plan for spending a week at the Manor during his heat? Yes. Did he plan to spend it with his three brothers fucking him to the mattress? Absolutely not! And now he got two dicks shoved up his ass with Damian’s head bobbed up and down his own twitching member.What a cliché.
Jason thrust and Dick almost black out. His tongue was sticking out and every little movement from below made his head spark. Tim chuckled as he bit his earlobe, shifting a little, just a little but it was just enough to make his poor hole stretch and twitch in respond.
“He’s close.” Tim’s voice was hoarse, and God, didn’t he find that sexy.“We’ve widened him good, haven’t we?!” Jason chuckled as he leaned in and kissed Dick with all he got, licking the sweat around the corner of his mouth.Damian looked up and off Dick’s cock, eyes sparkling and teeth flashing.“We’re going to mark you, Richard.”
How on Earth that only on this moment, with Dick naked and shivering and moaning like a horny teenager, did these three find an agreement and work well together, he had no idea.
Seemed like, after all, Dick was the only thing they could find sharing acceptable.
