being part of their crew I Donquixote Family
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✢ characters: Donquixote Doflamingo, Corazon, Trafalgar D. Law, Baby 5, Dellinger, Pika, Diamante, Trebol. Giolla, Monsieur Pink
✢ content: slice-off life, mafia dynamics, loss, death, grooming, gaslighting, immorally characters
✢a/n: the continuation for my "being part of their crew"-series. Next up are the Strawhat Pirates.
Tumblr media
Impressed by your actions, Doflamingo extended a hand, inviting you to join the crew. He recognized that your fervor to safeguard the youngest member of the crew could be harnessed to shape loyal soldiers, ready to uphold his reign of power.
Beyond your vigilant guardianship over Baby 5 and the other junior members, you embraced the role of an informant, delving deep into the shadows of the Underworld to procure valuable resources for Doflamingo's realm.
The tender yet resilient presence of Corazon became an anchor of support, his brotherly demeanor creating a haven for you. His scruffy yet tender disposition beckoned you into a realm of trust and camaraderie. With a shared love for cigarettes, you often retreated together to concealed corners of Spider Town. Amidst the veil of smoke, you exchanged stories and concerns, finding solace in his soothing presence. Corazon's patient guidance in learning Morse code paved the way for a unique means of communication—an unspoken language that became your secret conduit for sharing thoughts, emotions, and even stolen moments of levity.
Your connection with Doflamingo, though intricate, was marked by a shared ambition and the complexities of loyalty. Your allegiance to the Warlord manifested as unwavering dedication to his cause. As you delivered crucial intelligence to him, your strategic acumen proved invaluable in realizing his ambitions, fostering a sense of trust between you. His ability to draw you into a world of power and intrigue was both captivating and unsettling, a testament to the intricate tapestry of emotions he stirred.
As your bond with Corazon deepened, it introduced layers of conflict to your relationship with Doflamingo. The tension between your attachment to Corazon and your loyalty to Doflamingo created a dynamic that tested your resolve and blurred the lines between duty and desire.
Your rapport with Trebol, Pika, and Diamante often pivoted around cutting banter and sardonic repartee. Despite the trio's lack of moral grounding, their unwavering loyalty to the crew made it easy for you to look away, even in the face of their cold-blooded actions.
From time to time, you found yourself at the mercy of Monsieur Pink and Giolla's dress-up tendencies, amusing the whole crew with their fashion experiments on you.
During combat training with Baby 5, you witnessed the astonishing versatility of her body as she transformed it into an array of formidable weapons. Her tokens of affection, occasionally bordering on excess, were as unconventional as her affections, underscoring her profound regard for you since the day you saved her life.
Law's entry into the crew brought an unexpected shift to your daily life. The palpable aura of a young boy burdened by his hatred for the world and the specter of impending mortality resonated deeply with you. Your initial attempts at camaraderie saw you treading carefully, almost mirroring Corazon's fate of a knife to the back. However, your willingness to listen and offer a space for Law to share his concerns inspired confidence in his eventual integration within the crew.
The tragic demise of Corazon at the hands of his own brother cast ripples across your allegiance. Depending on your loyalty to Doflamingo and your evolving understanding of the family's dynamics, you faced the pivotal choice of persevering alongside them, marked by a pang of regret for Corazon's unfortunate trajectory, or extricating yourself from the family's grasp. Years later, you'd find yourself collaborating with Law to orchestrate a complex plot aimed at dismantling Doflamingo's rule, reflecting your resilience and strategic acumen.

Silent Echoes - His Legacy. Serendipity's Tapestry: A Reunion in Scarlet Hues (Chapter 1)
Tumblr media
The crimson walls of the Donquixote mansion stood tall , bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. Within its opulent halls , the air was thick with the scent of power and intrigue , as the Donquixote family conducted their affairs with calculated precision. They had a group to deal with within the rowdy town they stayed in.
The doors of their shared mansion swung open , revealing a short figure. The person had raggedy hair , a sharp tooth that poked out from the corner of their crooked smile , and eyes that radiated energy. The person laughed and threw their bag to the side. The person , a grown member of the infamous family , had been away for quite some time , tending to personal matters. The news of their return buzzed through the mansion like an electric current , piquing the curiosity of the family members who hadn't seen them in a few long years.
It was in the grand dining hall that had one large window behind the long table. The table was home to chairs that represented what each member was. A king symbol , a club symbol , a heart symbol , a spade symbol , a diamond symbol , and a suit symbol. The bustling chatter of the family members ceased as the door swung open , revealing the returning member.
As the newcomer strode through the ornate corridors , the familiar faces of the family greeted them with a mix of surprise and recognition.
“Look who's back from the shadows.” Sneered Diamante , eyeing {Reader} with a mixture of suspicion and amusement.
{Reader} chuckled , their voice carrying a confident edge , “Never could resist the allure of ‘family drama.’ “ And put full emphasis on family drama.
As soon as the owl - like human stepped into the dining hall and spoke , 2 children ran up to them. “Mx. {Reader} !!” The female child yelled excitedly , holding onto their leg.
The stranger smiled and petted her head. “Why hello , Baby 5. Its been a while , huh ?” They spoke , a large grin still present on their small face. {Name} picked up Baby 5 and cradled her. Suddenly , they felt another tug on their dirty pants. The {h / c} haired person looked down and noticed the male child was now trying to get their attention.
“Oh ! Buffalo !” They acknowledged , putting Baby 5 down to pick him up. Even though he was quite big , {Name} was quite strong. They chuckled and put them down.
He looked up at {Name} with a bright smile on his face and decided to ask about their adventure. “Mx. {Name} ! Why were you gone for so long ?! How big was that mission ?!!!” He complained while holding onto Baby 5’s shoulders.
The short family member laughed loudly and crossed their arms. “Don’t worry ‘bout it , lil man.” They patted his head and walked towards the table. Their smile faltered slightly as they caught the stare of the young master himself , Donquixote Doflamingo. {Name} put a bag on the table in front of him and brushed some hair out of their face.
They sighed and stared at him. “I got the fruit you wanted.” They shared , adjusting the band that their sword sheath was strapped to. The headmaster began laughing and picked up the bag that took years to get.
“Took you a while . {Name}.” He mentioned while staring directly into the mentioned person’s eyes through his shades. A creepy smile was present on his large face. If {Name} didn’t know any better , they would have thought that Doflamingo was concerned.
They laughed it off and decided to change the topic. “You guys better have some extra.”
Meanwhile , a young boy , with wide hate filled eyes , sat in the corner by himself. The boy , unaware of the significance of the moment , looked up from his plate. His wide eyes met {Reader}'s , and for a moment , time seemed to stand still. The person smiled and walked towards him.
“Hey there , kiddo ,” {Reader} greeted , bending down to Law's eye level. “You must be Law. I've heard a lot about you.”  Law blinked , processing the new face before him. He didn’t understand why he felt so comfortable around them.
“Who are you ?” He asked distastefully , hiding his plate. The {e / c} eyed family member laughed and sat on the ground. While they spoke , the rest of the family went back to their prior discussions and actions.
They put a hand out and smiled widely. “{Reader}. It’s nice to meet ya , Law.” They spoke , taking his hand in their own. They shook it gently and stood up. “We can talk more once I get some food. I’m starvinnnn’ !” They complained , walking to the kitchen.
Even if the family seemed rude , they did care for their other family members. Even if the newcomer was annoying , they cared. Afterall , they occupied the Suit seat of the family. They were  an elite officer of the family as well. They were powerful , not to be taken lightly.
Speaking of them , {Reader} walked back in with a full plate of {things you like} and sat down next to Law. They stuffed their face and waited until they were finished to speak. “So , kid. Why did you come here ?” It was a sincere question , one that hid a deep worry that rooted within {Reader}. They crossed their short arms and stared at the unruly black hair that adorned the boy they spoke to.
“I want to kill people before I die.” This deep response made the owl person stop chewing on whatever food they had in their mouth and stare weirdly at him. “That’s . . quite the reason.” They responded after they finished swallowing the piece of food they almost choked on. “What do you mean ‘before you die’ ?” A look of concern flashed in their wide , child - like eyes. They didn't know what happened to him , but it made them worry. 'No kid should have to think like that' , they thought.
He stared angrily and rolled his eyes. “I don’t have to tell you that.” He scoffed , going back to eating his food. “That’s right. You don’t have to tell me anythin’. Just know I’m here if ya wanna talk.” They smiled and patted his head.
A slight uncomfortable silence enveloped the 2 short individuals. Even if Law didn’t want to admit it , he enjoyed {Reader}’s company. It was a striking contrast to what he has experienced already with the younger blood brother of the young master.

Llorona's relations w/ The Donquixote Family
For the most part, she's the only member of the crew that Doffy forced her to join. Her role of the crew is their treasurer because of her background of being a jeweler. Layla's "loyalty" is rooted in her fear of dying but she still has a bit of fondness for some members.
Doflamingo
Tumblr media
She is absolutely terrified of Doflamingo
Won't look into his eyes since the first escape attempt gave her the tear tattoos on her face
She's aware that the only reason he wants her in the family is because of her devil fruit
Tries to avoid him as best as she can but it's difficult since he seeks her out
In Doffy's perspective, he has a sense of nostalgia of owning a slave as a celestial dragon
Mix in his mommy issues and you get uncomfortable interactions
Corazon
Tumblr media
She's so confused by this man, they might be friends?
One moment he's cold and distant then suddenly he's attentive and surprisingly sweet???
Hates the fact that he hits the kids but knows she can't stop him
When it's just them together he shows that he has a sense of humor and can get her to laugh
Her reflexes have gotten better with his clumsiness
In Corazon's perspective, he knows he can't get her out without Doffy hunting her down so he tries his best to make her life less miserable
He finds her normalcy comforting and seeks her company when he's tired of everyone else
He does freak out internally when he realizes he fell for her and tries to hide it (beats himself up out of guilt)
Giolla
Tumblr media
She finds her very... Eccentric...
This "friendship" is very much just her agreeing to Giolla's taste in art and crafting her "unique" taste of jewelry
Llorona does appreciate that there's another woman in the group
There is a hidden feeling of resentment towards her since it was Giolla's decision to take her in
In Giolla's perspective, she adores having another artist in the group
Loves having to pick out her clothes (with Doffy's input) and dresses her up like a doll
Appreciates the helping hand in taking care of the children
Senior Pink
Tumblr media
She finds him one of the most normal out of everyone
At some point she pinpointed a romantic man underneath that hard boiled exterior
Teases him endlessly and likes to offer advice even if he won't take it (he keeps it cool through it all)
In Senior's perspective: finds her to be too fragile to be in the family, both mentally and physically
He only protects her if it's dire, he'll never let anyone in the family break his demeanor
He does go to her in designing the engagement ring for Russian
Tumblr media
Diamante
She finds him extremely irritating
His constant prying and accusations of her relations with Corazon is one thing but also pursuing her? Annoying!
She uses his ego against him to leave her alone but it'll just be temporary and he'll be back at it again!
Diamante's perspective: he likes his women feisty and since her husband is dead it's fine to flirt (like he'd cared anyway)
But he has noticed that Corazon tends to be softer with her, if he's going to claim her then he has to have his fun first
Tumblr media
Trebol
Disgusting! Revolting! Hates him and is loud about it
Everything he says gets on her nerves and causes her to lose her composure
Hates his power too! Reminds her of frogs (she hates them too)
Trebol's perspective: finds her outbursts amusing
Only sees her as a source of entertainment and as a weapon
Tumblr media
Lao G
She finds him a bit odd but not off-putting
He kind of reminds her of her own grandparents
She enjoys his company and often spends her time just chatting away
His sudden bursts of energy when it comes to the letter G does surprise her from time to time
Lao G's perspective: a soft hearted young lady, maybe too soft hearted
Enjoys the company and finds her to be a well member of the family
Tumblr media
Gladius and Pica
She feels like she's walking on eggshells around those two
Knows they're very destructive when they're angry and tries to avoid that as much as possible
If something riles them up, she'll try to calm them down (it never really works)
Gladius's perspective: he finds her bearable until she tries to butt in to calm him down
Pica's perspective: thinks of her like any other member, hasn't caught her laughing at his voice so she's safe for now...
Tumblr media
The kids
She adores them!
She enjoys their company and raising them helps fill in the void of losing her son
But feels terrible that they're part of this crew and what they do to them
She wants them to leave and live a normal life but doesn't want to be left alone with these pirates
Baby 5's perspective: loves that she can be of use to someone so nice! Another girl in the group that loves romance too is wonderful to have
Buffalo's perspective: loves having her around! She's so nice and gives them ice cream when they're good
They both never want her to leave :)
Tumblr media
Law
She saw her son in Law's eyes for a moment and it freaked her out
Kept her distance for a bit to avoid breaking down in front of him
It broke her heart hearing his story, she thought she has a chance to heal with him only to find out he'll die too
Tries to have Law get close with the other kids so he won't feel lonely
Law's perspective: he assumed that she avoided him because of his disease and hated her for it
When she stopped and tries to be nice with him, only confused and irritated him
Only tolerated her kindness since she's the only adult that doesn't harm the kids

Hi! Can you do Josh Allen x Wife!reader
She goes to one of his games and he shows off by pulling a 40-0 win.
Thank you
Josh Allen x wife!reader (Big Win)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You loved Buffalo in the fall just before it got too cold. As you made your way Highmark Stadium, the sight of trees changing colors made you smile. Josh's sister Makenna was sitting in your passenger seat filling you in on her first summer post-grad.
"Am I going to get a niece or nephew any time soon?" She asked out of the blue. You whipped your head around and stared at her in disbelief.
"What?"
"I mean he's not getting any younger," she said nonchalantly.
"He's 27," you protested. "And I'm only 25." She shrugged.
"Just wondering." Comfortable silence filled the car as you pulled into the stadium. Yes, you wanted kids with Josh but why now? He was busy and away for games all the time and you didn't want to give up your career if you didn't have to. Your thoughts came to a stop as you pulled into your spot, jumping out of the car with Makenna. The two of you headed inside and towards a grand room where the team catered brunch for the families. You grabbed a plate and went through the line before finding a seat next to some other WAGs you were friends with.
"Are you guys traveling to London next month for the game?" One of them asked. The group was split with some nodding and others shaking their heads.
"I would rather die than wrangle my two kids on that long ass flight by myself," someone said and you laughed.
"What about you y/n? Are you going?"
"Yeah, I've never been to London. It seems like a good excuse to explore," you said smiling.
"I'm going too, what day is your flight?" Your friend Emily asked and you two started making plans on what to see while the boys were busy.
When it was a little closer to gametime and the boys were warming up you headed down to the field to say hi to Josh before you settled in.
"Hi Mrs. Allen," he said smiling as he came over to you.
"Hi, Mr. Allen," you replied laughing. You wrapped your arms around his waist and he kissed the top of your head. "Nervous?"
"Never baby," he said. You knew he was lying though, no matter how amazing was, he was always a little on edge before gametime.
"Let's make a little wager then hmm," you said with a glint in your eye. He looked down at you expectantly.
"Four touchdown passes and you can come home to me in just your jersey and nothing else." His face reddened as he blushed making you smile wider.
"What if I lose?" He mumbled. You brought your finger to your chin thinking.
"Hmmm, then I'll get to go on a shopping spree with your card in London," you replied and he rolled his eyes.
"Not like you weren't going to do that before," he said. He leaned down and gave you one last soft kiss before trotting off to join the rest of the guys.
You headed up to your seats and settled in. Kickoff came and went and by the time the second quarter rolled around Josh had already thrown three touchdown passes.
"This is crazy!" Makenna exclaimed. "He's on fire."
You blushed thinking about your earlier conversation and took another sip of your drink. The Bills were driving down and after Josh threw a 40 yard bomb to Stefon you knew it was only a matter of time.
Sure enough on the next play you watched as Beasley caught your husband's pass for another Bill TD. You cheered loudly with his sister and the rest of the fans in your section. Josh trotted over to the sidelines with the biggest grin you'd seen on his face all game. He found you in the stands and gave you a wink.
The final score ended up being 40-0 and your husband ended the day with 5 touchdowns and 400 passing yards. On the field you waited for him with Makenna who rushed to give him a big hug.
"You were amazing! 5 touchdowns, it's like you couldn't be stopped," she exclaimed. He looked over at you.
"I had some good motivation," he replied making you blush. You were in for a long night.

Hi. I’m completely obsessed with your stories and writing style. I haven’t read anything from you I haven’t enjoyed. Can I please have a Law x Doflamingo daughter reader (fluffy angst or angsty fluff)? She was closer to Corazon (she learned Corazon’s secret but never told her father). Her and Law grew up together. When Corazon takes Law to find a cure, both of them promise to come back for her. But we know what happens with that whole thing (I’m 100% crying over that still). Then with Dressrosa, they reunite (remember their mutual feelings for each other that haven’t seemed to go away) and she helps them take down her father. Thank you!
I'm so glad you like my writing! I hope you like this one as much as my others!
Warnings: angst, hurt/comfort, Dressrosa spoilers, Doffy being... Doffy
Word Count:  1500
     How many years had it been since your uncle had left? You missed him. You vaguely knew what had happened to him. Your father had killed him for being a traitor. When you’d ‘learned’ about the truth behind his death, you’d pretended to be surprised, even though you’d known what he was a long time ago. He’d been more like a father to you than your actual father, kind, caring, nurturing. For all of your father’s talk about family, he was a shit father. Giolla had taken care of Baby 5, Dellinger, and Buffalo, but your father had insisted on ‘raising you himself’. As if by taking care of you, you’d turn out like him. But in a way, he himself was proof that that wasn’t always true, being nothing like his own mother and father. You missed Law as well, having gotten along quite well with the angry little boy. Even before he got to know Corazon well, you’d gotten along with him. Something in him just clicked with you. What was worse was that they’d promised to come back, promised to save you from this hell. Family this, family that, acting as if he was a kind and nurturing man. But he was just as much of a monster with his own family as he was with others. Those who didn’t obey him were… punished. In that moment of hope, in the split second where you thought that you would finally be free of him, you were brought crashing back down to the reality that you would never be free. As if you were a bird, a bird trapped in his cage. So you learned to obey him, you learned to do as he wished, to hide your true thoughts and feelings, to bury your morals, and to be the ruthless killer he desired. It wasn’t what you wanted, it wasn’t what you desired to do, but for the sake of not suffering the same fate as your beloved uncle, you did what you had to. In the depths of your heart and on the anniversary of your uncle’s death, you clung desperately to the same desire to be free as the day that they left. That one day, through some miracle, you might have a chance to escape.
     Standing in the throne room with your father, you felt your heart skip a beat. He’d mentioned Law coming to Dressrosa, about what he would do to Law and the boy he was with, Luffy. It was a slim hope, little more than a tiny sliver, but it was something. You didn’t need much, just an opening, just enough to contact and reach Sengoku. He might not have raised your father, but having raised your uncle, you considered him as close to a grandfather as you might ever have. Corazon had told you about growing up with the man, about how kind he was. Sengoku could keep you safe, hide you from your father, it wasn’t the most ideal situation, but anything to get away from your father. All you needed was an opportunity, a lull in your father’s guard, just a second to slip away. If you could, if it was possible, you’d leave with Law, if you had the chance, he’d keep his promise and come for you, but you hadn’t had that kind of hope in years, your father was powerful, strong enough that few people could match him. While you yearned for an end to your father, you couldn’t bring yourself to pray for it like you did for your freedom. Freedom was an attainable goal, your father’s end seemed impossible by all but the yonkos.
     Glancing at Law, chained to the throne of heart, you couldn’t stop the pounding of your heart. You’d been so close, leaving the boy as many tiny breadcrumbs as possible, little things to help him, things that would give you a chance. Had he simply not noticed them? Or had he outright ignored them? Either way, your sliver, your chance, was once again beginning to diminish and you weren’t sure you could handle that without breaking. Should this chance pass, should your liberation be once more out of reach, you may just fall into despair. It wasn’t long until things turned chaotic, until you were facing your father, your weapon out as you blocked a hit aimed for Law.
     “How many times must I be betrayed by my family? How much must I endure?” your father asked, seething with anger as you pushed against him. You knew you were no match for him, but you didn’t have to be. You could tell that Luffy and Law could do this, you just needed to provide them with an opening.
     “You and I were never family. Your blood may run through my veins, but only my uncle Rosinante and Law were ever my family. I’ve only ever sought your downfall, ever since I was a child, I’ve wanted nothing more than your death!” you shouted, pushing him back momentarily. You and Law traded, the boy surging forward to attack, repeatedly defended from Doflamino’s attacks by your weapon, allowing him to focus on wounding the man. Again and again, Law would attack, you would defend. Finally, the both of you kneeled before your father, his gun aimed at your heads. Law’s arm lay, severed on the ground as you faced your execution.
     “I’m… I’m sorry Y/n. I’m sorry I didn’t return sooner. I regret forcing you to endure this long.” he said softly, holding his arm where it had been removed.
     “You promised to come back, you never promised when. I suppose… I suppose if I had to die, I’m glad it was by your side.” you said with a small smile at him, “Just… before that, I want you to know… I always loved you.” you said, tears starting to fall down your cheeks, Law’s eyes widening while your father’s eyes narrowed behind his sunglasses. Blood dripped from his arm faster as he let go of it, taking your hand in his, giving a small smile. It wasn’t much, but you knew what he was telling you. Closing your eyes, you awaited your death.
     Wrapping Law’s arm, you smiled softly. Through some miracle, your father was now in chains, your deepest wish had been granted. Not only were you free, but your father had been taken down in the process. Law’s arm had been healed, he would have full use of it again, but you insisted on bandaging it in the off chance it started bleeding again or began hurting. At least, that was your excuse, in truth, you simply wanted to feel his skin beneath your fingertips, as if to prove that this was all real, that this wasn’t another dream.
     “Y/n.” Law called, drawing your attention back to the man, “I may not have said it up there, but I love you as well. I have since we were young, I wanted to return to you sooner, but had no way of freeing you.” he said, making you smile.
     “You still returned for me, that’s all I could ever ask for.” you said, gently tying his bandage, your eyes remaining on his as you gave his bandaged arm a small kiss. Law couldn’t help the blush that spread across his cheeks, looking away, making you giggle.
     “Then I’d like to ask you something.” Law said, still blushing as you tilted your head in confusion, “I’d like you to join the Heart Pirates, to sail with me. I’m sure you’re sick of pirates after… everything, but I’d like to… you’ve gotten strong, you’d make a great addition.” he said, his cheeks turning an even brighter pink. He’d just told you he loved you, why couldn’t he bring himself to tell you that he wanted you by his side?
     “You have no idea how much I’d like that. It was something I never dared dream for, but desired all the same.” you said, giving him a kiss on the cheek. His cheeks were brighter than ever, the young man beyond flustered as he pulled his hat over his eyes, trying to hide his face.
     “Th-then once we reach the rest of the crew, I’ll introduce you and you can become an official part of the crew and…” Law swallowed hard, pulling his hat even lower, his voice barely a whisper, “And perhaps… we could…” Law found himself unable to finish his sentence, freezing in place as you gave him a quick peck on the lips.
     “I’d really like that, all of that. Even the parts that you can’t say.” you said, caressing the stunned man’s cheek. He could still feel your lips on his as his heart pounded. All you’d wanted as a child was freedom from your father, all he’d wanted as a child was to live long enough to tell you how he felt. It seemed as if today was a day of hope and dreams.

My sister and I were re-watching Law's backstory when I discovered the perfect little detail that if modified could create a "For Want of a Nail" AU where Corazón survives and Law still gets the Ope Ope no Mi, without making the fic unrealistic or out-of-character at all!
Click the :readmore: if you're interested...
First, let me recap the sequence of events that took place on Minion Island which ultimately led to Cora-san's untimely demise:
***[ Skip to the bullet points for a TL;DR since the numbered list kind of drags on, going into an unnecessary amount of detail... ]***
Cora-san and Law arrive at Minion Island. Cora-san at first tries to leave Law on the boat by himself, but Law stops him and makes sad eyes at him until he relents and takes Law with him—but not all the way. Cora-san leaves Law in an abandoned house in town, where Law wanders out onto the steps and falls asleep as snow rains down on him.
Cora-san attacks the Barrels Pirates and makes off with the Ope Ope no Mi. During his escape, he trips and falls and winds up surrounded by Barrels Pirates with guns. He gets away alive, but not before being shot several times.
One of the pirates—a kid with an X-shaped scar on his chin—flees the scene.
Cora-san heads back to Law with the Ope Ope no Mi.
When he finds Law asleep on the steps, Cora-san—for whatever reason—picks him up and carries him off somewhere before waiting for him to wake up to force-feed him the Devil Fruit.
Cora-san collapses. Before he can lose consciousness, he passes Law a capsule cylinder and tells him to deliver it to the Marines.
Law goes off on his own, trudging his way through the snow. He chickens out on approaching the first group of Marines that pass, but works up the courage to approach the next—Vergo—when he sees that he's alone. But before Vergo can leave, he begs him to come with him to perform first aid on Cora-san.
Vergo goes with Law, and when he sees Rosinante he immediately attacks him before reading the secret message and then brutally beating him; Law gets kicked around as well. With them down for the count, Vergo calls Doffy and relays the situation to him.
While he's distracted, Cora-san uses his Calm Calm Fruit to sneak away undetected. He hides Law in a treasure chest and uses his fruit to silence him and anything he touches.
Doflamingo and the rest of the Don Quixote Pirates descend on the island and begin to hunt Cora-san and Law down after Doffy creates a Birdcage for the first time.
The child with scar on his chin manages to get far enough away that he's clear of the Birdcage when it comes down. Afterwards, he is found by Marines and taken aboard their ship.
Cora-san makes himself bait and gets chased down and beaten while Law listens from his place trapped in the treasure chest. They hold back from killing him so Doffy can interrogate him about the locations of the Ope Ope no Mi and Law.
Cora-san tells him that Law ate the fruit and was promptly taken into custody by the Marines.
Almost immediately after, Baby 5 and Buffalo inform Doffy that they overhead a Marine transmission about finding a boy and taking him aboard their ship, thus convincing Doffy that Cora-san was telling the truth.
Doffy shoots Rosinante repeatedly. As he lay dying, the Don Quixote Pirates make off with the treasure chests.
With Law on the other side and Rosinante permanently down for the count, Doffy takes down the now seemingly pointless Birdcage.
As they are loading the treasure onto their ship, Tsuru shows up and chases them off the island forces them to hurry up and leave. Unbeknownst to them, Law sneaks off in the chaos.
Law escapes to the neighboring Sparrow Island, presumably with the small sailboat he and Cora-san had been traveling in.
...OK, I'll admit I went a little overboard with the details there, so allow me to quickly recap:
***[ TL;DR ]***
Rosinante and Law arrive on Minion Island.
Rosi wants to leave Law on the boat, but he refuses.
Law is left in a house instead as Rosi steals the Ope Ope no Mi.
Rosi is caught and heavily injured but manages to get away.
He returns to give Law the fruit before collapsing.
Law is sent off to deliver a message to the Marines, and he returns with Vergo who beats him and Rosi and contacts Doffy to spill everything.
In the background, Rosi quietly sneaks off.
Doffy arrives and puts up the Birdcage, forcing Rosi to take desperate measures to ensure Law's freedom and survival.
Rosi hides Law in a chest and uses himself as bait, convincing Doffy that Law had already escaped with the fruit in his belly.
Doffy kills Rosi and takes down the Birdcage.
Before he can loiter, Tsuru shows up to chase him off.
Law escapes on his own to the closest neighboring island.
Got that? Good. Now, here's how we can quickly and easily fix things so that most of the bad stuff never happens:
In the very beginning, Cora-san originally intends to leave Law on the boat while he gets the fruit, but Law stops him.
What would've happened if he hadn't?
With his sickness, Law has been in and out of it, often falling asleep. What if he'd been asleep when they first arrived and, rather than wake him up, Cora-san chose to leave Law a note telling him that he'd be back soon with the Ope Ope no Mi.
Law would have no way of following him had he eventually woken up, since Cora-san had to climb a very long rope to get to land.
As Law was not only sick and dying, but also far smaller than Cora-san, it's fair to say that he would have absolutely no luck trying to climb that rope.
Now, since Law is in the boat rather than in town, Cora-san's next destination after obtaining the Ope Ope no Mi would be to head back to the boat immediately.
I assume the reason he took Law to that broken wall in canon rather than feed him the fruit in town was because he was worried about being out in the open whilst the Barrels Pirates were all hunting him down—but he would have had no reason to do so had Law still been in the boat since that was far more hidden than some random half-wall could ever be.
...Plus it also had the potential for a quick getaway considering it's literally a boat.
Now let's try that scene again, but this time with Law and Cora-san in their little sailboat:
Law wakes up to a smiling Cora-san leaning over him with the Ope Ope no Mi in hand. Cora-san force-feeds him the fruit before collapsing. He then passes Law the capsule cylinder with the secret message, and tells him to pass it on to the Marines.
Now what does Law do? Does he go on the island to find a Marine? No! The kid is dying and can barely walk; Why would he do that when there's a perfectly good Marine ship parked just a little ways away? Especially since there's no way he'd even be able to climb that rope to get onto the island anyways, not unless Rosinante yeeted him up there or something.
Now, instead of running off, Law struggles to row the boat over to the nearby Marine ship. There, he is spotted by the Marines, the secret message is passed over, Rosinante's identity is verified, and Law is taken aboard the ship—for real this time.
In this scenario, Vergo is on the island when Rosinante and Law board the Marine ship. Maybe he hears a transmission about a boy and a heavily injured man being taken aboard, or maybe not. Maybe he identifies the man as Rosinante and reports it to Doffy, or maybe not.
It doesn't matter either way since they're now in Marine custody, under Marine protection, and there's nothing Vergo can do about it without breaking his cover.
In the meantime, considering the Marines' original reason for being there in the first place, the ship would undoubtedly be stocked with medical supplies and medics themselves, so that Rosinante would be able to receive prompt medical treatment—on Sengoku's orders, if nothing else.
Sengoku would likely command the ship to head straight towards him wherever he is, seeing as they most likely would have had to contact him personally to confirm Rosinante's identity.
Maybe he'll return to Sengoku and resume working as a Marine, or maybe not.
And seeing as he only had a few bullet holes in him at this point—which he was canonically able to run and jump around with, only really slowing down after Vergo and the other DonQuixote Pirates had beat the hell outta him and Doffy had shot him several more times—he should be able to recover just fine.
Before he died, there was a scene in canon where Rosinante had mentioned wanting to travel the world with Law once he was cured... Maybe in this AU they'll do exactly that.
Seeing as how Rosinante technically betrayed the Marines, it's entirely possible that not even Sengoku will be able to completely sweep it under the rug. At that point, it's not completely unbelievable that Rosinante and Law might wind up as pirates—for real this time—traveling the world and having adventures together.
Maybe they'll even drop by Sparrow Island for a bit, maybe pick up a kid or two...
...or a polar bear, even. You never know.

Whumptober Day 17
Corazon x Reader
Tumblr media
"Come on Corazon, we're just getting some ice cream," you told the mute member.
He stared at you unamused and lifted a note that said 『No』.
"Please, Cora-san, please!" Baby 5 clung to the blond's feathered coat. "Doffy-sama said we can't go without you."
Corazon looked down at her, regretting it instantly as she gave him puppy eyes. Sighing, he went to get up from his chair only for it to fall back and roll him over. Buffalo and Baby 5 cheered, taking the sign as a yes. You smiled at Corazon as you helped him rise to his feet.
"I want mint chip and rocky road," Buffalo said as he bounced up and down by the door with Baby 5.
"I want bubble gum!" Baby 5 exclaimed when you reached down and pick her up.
Corazon frowned at the children and gave them a note to read. Curiously, Buffalo took it, and you crouched down so Baby 5 could read the message as well. Both children made pouty faces after reading the note.
"What, only vanilla?"
『Either that or no ice cream.』 Read the second message.
Baby 5 looked at you, using her big eyes to get you to help out. Adjusting your hold, you responded to her, "Well Corazon is being nice enough to let you guys have ice cream, I think it's a reasonable deal."
"But [N/n]-san," Baby 5 whined as she clung to your arm.
"Well I don't mind as long I get some ice cream," Buffalo told you.
"See, Buffalo likes it."
"Okay." Baby 5 gave in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey thanks for coming out with us." You smile at Corazon while the kids happily lick their ice cream.
Corazon rolled his eyes and held up a few notes for you to read. 『I didn't do it because I wanted to. Your job is to keep these children satisfied and taken care of when Doflamingo is busy, don't expect me to save your ass every time.』
"Right..." You look away as you were reminded of your duty. While the Donquixote family was generous to give you the position, Doflamingo's words haunted you.
'Remember I will dispose of you if at any point you fail your duty.'
"Thanks anyway," you mumble to Corazon and walked ahead.
Corazon only stared as you did. Once you were a good distance away, he allowed himself to sigh as he reached into his pocket and pull out a cigarette. Lighting it, he made sure to put out the fire that munched on his shoulder.
'If we were in different circumstances, we could've gone on a normal date.'
Providence a Doflamingo x reader fic Part 1
Tumblr media
CONTAINS: dark content (emotional manipulation) otherwise SFW, slight fluff but mostly angst
Tbh I don't think this series will have more than two or three parts but anyways here's part one. It's gonna be sort of a prequel to part 2. Haven't edited it so it's probably gonna be rly stream of consciousnessy. Also, my first time posting here! Reader is written as a brown woman but read her however you like. Hope you enjoy!
You were raised in a brothel frequented by merchants and scholars alike. They would often hold meetings here, sharing information while enjoying a stiff drink and a woman on their lap. Your mother was the favourite of a renowned scholar from Ohara who had been excommunicated from the archaeologists society. An elderly man who decided to spend the last of his years in this brothel. The closest thing to a father that you’ve ever had. He instilled a love for archaeology in you, taught you how to decipher lost languages and made you an expert in ponegliffs at the age of 15.
He died a few years later. It was around that time Doflamingo and his family came into town. They had planned for it to be a short visit. Word had reached them about a girl of 18 who lived in a brothel – a girl that knew how to read ponegliffs. Seeing an opportunity to make money, your mother sold you off to Doflamingo.
Doflamingo knew your worth and knew how to care for you. A precious addition to his crew. You were a rarity, someone who was essential in his quest for divinity. The day you were sold off was the worst day of your life but the life that came after was one you could never have imagined were you to stay in that port town. Doflamingo gave you books, clothes, and a room of your own. Freedom. The family treated you as one of their own and slowly but surely you began to open up to them. Senor Pink took you to see his wife a couple of times, and you grew close to Baby 5 and Buffalo, them being the only members around your own age. You vaguely knew that Doflamingo had dealings in the underground market but you were often left out of business meetings and missions. To you, Doflamingo was an elusive figure. That is until 9 years later, when you witnessed what this man was actually capable of, when the man they call the great heavenly demon brought an entire kingdom to its knees.
“You can leave whenever you wish to.” He noted the fear in your eyes as you gazed down upon the inferno, “Although... as it is now, I don’t think that you’ll find a reason to leave”. You heard his command loud and clear. You realise that this man is a mirage of gentle greatness harbouring pure evil at the core. Tears prickle behind your eyes as you feared that he was just getting started.
“Oh, my sweet girl… you did this”. His large hands cup your cheeks, tilting your head up to face him. “I thank you. I could never have done this without you.” You finally begin to cry at his words. He embraces you and there’s little you can do but let him. Your hands balled up into tight fists, resting on his broad chest.
You couldn’t sleep the first night in his care. “Mother never loved you, she only saw you as profit – nothing but money to be made. You're all alone in this world”. Poisonous thoughts occupied your mind, you needed a distraction. So you sneaked into the library and looked for a book to read.
Doflamingo was about to enter the library as well, when he caught a glimpse of you. At that moment, he thought that you looked like divine in your stark white nightgown contrasted with long black hair and bronze skin illuminated by warm candle light. You struggled to reach a book at the top of the shelf until you saw a hand shoot up from behind you. Doflamingo grabbed the book and studied the cover, “The Book of Five Rings? Didn’t know that we had this”. His sudden appearance managed to purge your mind of any thoughts of your mother. Completely dumbfounded, the only thing that you could muster up was “Do you read, sir?”
He chuckled lightly as he walked over to a velvet chaise lounge and settled into it with the book.
“Of course you–“ you wished that you hadn’t spoken at all in the first place, "it’s your library after all”.
“I don’t have much time to read these days.”
You studied his features for a while, spiky blonde hair and a sharp jawline. He was as handsome as he was intimidating.
“Uhm… I couldn’t sleep.”
“I see…”
“I thought I would read instead.”
He looked confused for a short moment until he realised, “Ah, I've hijacked your book.”
“Oh, no… I’ll read another. I didn’t mean–“
He cut you off and pointed to another book “Grab me the blue paperback on the desk there.”
You grabbed it and handed it to him.
“I’ll give you back your book and read this one instead.”
You nodded. “Thank you, sir. I-I’ll read it in my room”
“You can stay,” coming from him, it sounded more like a demand than a suggestion, “Let me keep you company until you feel like you can sleep.”
You spent the rest of the night together with Doflamingo. In a soothing silence.
Despite his imposing presence, he has always been gentle with you. Even as he massacred a whole kingdom and turned the king into his own puppet. You knew that you had to leave him, however improbable it may be, you had to escape from this man.
TFRB x TFP x One Piece
I know that Corazon is dead even before Priscilla and Jack join Law's crew, but can you imagine Corazon's reaction to seeing Law again when he is taking care of Priscilla (a girl who is almost the same as Law once was) and Jack (who is in middle o his 20th mind crisis)
I don't know if there's Devil Fruits or magic that can bring life back to life (I saw the Zombie arc but I think that there were more of a Frankenstein style) so you can say that is Corazon as a ghost lol or use One Piece Odyssey plot
Tumblr media
I bet Priscilla would laugh at Corazon's makeover 😅
hi
If Alive/Ghost Corazon saw Law helping two lost kids he be super proud of him.
Law wasn't the most social, even with kids his own age on Doflamingos crew like Buffalo and Baby 5. What happened to his at Flevance really made him a bitter and hateful kid😔
But despite this, Corazon still wanted to save him and give him a chance at attaining freedom.
But to see him doing what he had done, taking in kids who are down on their luck, lost and alone, he be so happy of how compassionate Law has become. Especially if the Hearts Pirate Captain said it was because "someone special did it for him once" 😭
a little info about the enemies to lovers Law x reader I’m about to write:
I will be making a picrew for the reader! It’s going to be a basic one piece female body that you can customize the skin tone, hair, eyes, etc. The outfits will consist of ones reader is wearing in the fic, so those won’t be as customizable.
It should be finished within the next week!
Note: I originally wanted to do more body types, but then I found out how hard it is to make art for/upload a picrew…. So I’m just going with the basic body blueprint of fem characters in canon.
I haven’t started writing it yet, so I’m not sure of the date the first chapter will be posted on. I also don’t know how consistent updates will be since I have my multichapter Levi fic too. However, I think I’m going to put a pause on oneshots (unless I get super inspired to do one in one day) so that I can get chapters out for both fics consistently. For inbetween fics, I’ll probably write more headcanons since they’re easy.
The fic will start just before the Punk Hazard arc (around the time Law arrives there- whenever that was lol) and most likely end in Zou. I’m rewatching all 3 arcs for this so… we’ll see how long that takes.
Reader will need a fake/cover name so reply with some ideas for that please! Relevant info is that she’ll be an assassin that specializes in sniper guns. She’ll be good at being silent and stealthy for the sniper part, but can easily jump into combat directly with a pistol and dagger. Works under Doflamingo, raised with Baby 5, Buffalo, and (briefly) Law.
Which then brings me to an idea I’m on the fence of: since she needs to be completely silent to do her job, and the fact that (iirc) anyone who works for Doflamingo has a devil fruit power, should she have Corazon’s fruit? This would create an interesting dynamic for when she meets Law again, and makes sense as far as I know. (I would imagine Doflamingo would have the fruit in his possession since he’s the one who killed Corazon, and devil fruits “respawn” where their previous user dies.) Let me know in the replies how you guys feel about this idea! (Tbh the more I think about it the more it makes sense and I wanna do it, lol)
I can’t think of any other relevant info, so anyway… stay tuned for this!! I’m excited to start working on it :)
Corazon
Alternate summary: Tsuru is definitely not getting paid enough for this
First of the two pieces I did for @opwarlordzine!! Leftover sales are open right now, so do check it out for more deranged evil flamingo man & co. :D I also did a short Law-centric companion piece that I will post soon too so look forward to that~
[ Read on AO3 ]
—————
Waiting for the transponder snail to ring was agonising. Doflamingo had no idea what Law was thinking; he had wormed his way onto Punk Hazard, living in Caesar’s lab like a little rat, waiting for an opportunity to chew up the cables that connected the SAD tanks with Doflamingo himself—and Doflamingo let him.
After all, what could one brat going through his rebellious phase do?
But picking a fight like this, going so far as to put up such a ridiculous ultimatum… that was way past a little rebellion. Way past what Doflamingo was willing to forgive.
Two years ago, Doflamingo had thought Law was finally coming back to him. Two years ago, he had started building his deck of cards once more.
In two years… the hearts have crumbled into dust.
—————
Dressrosa, the country of passion. With a name like that, one would think there would be something exciting going on at all times, but reality often falls short of fantasies.
Not that it was necessarily a bad thing; if he wanted some action, or a show… there was nothing easier for Donquixote Doflamingo than to create it. Right now, however, he just wanted to sip on his cocktail and relax.
“Hey, hey! Doffy!”
“Hm?” Doflamingo hummed, turning his head slightly to look at Trebol as he slid towards the pool.
Trebol only stopped once he had reached the couch, leaning over the side of it to shove his face far into Doflamingo’s personal space—and covering Baby 5 next to him in slime. “Hey, Doffy, hey,” he rambled on, completely ignoring Baby 5’s disgusted protests.
“What is it? And you’re too close,” Doflamingo said, shooting his supreme officer a look.
At that, Trebol finally moved back a little, though not nearly far enough. “A carrier bat came for you,” he explained, waving the envelope with a government seal in front of Doflamingo’s face.
“Throw it out,” Doflamingo dismissed it immediately.
“You’re not even going to read it?!” Baby 5 asked in alarm.
Raising an eyebrow, Doflamingo took a long sip of his cocktail before responding, “Why should I care what those idiots want?”
“Your blood type is X! Bad things will happen if you’re not open to people’s requests this week!” the girl scolded while slapping the magazine on her lap.
“Baby 5, did you get another subscription?” Buffalo asked slowly, obviously struggling not to laugh.
“They needed me,” Baby 5 muttered while covering her face with the magazine; no doubt to hide her blush.
Doflamingo rolled his eyes. This was getting ridiculous. When would this kid learn?
“Hey, Doffy, hey. I think it could be interesting this time. It’s about the brats who have been rampaging in the first half of the Grand Line,” Trebol announced, shoving the letter back in his face.
Doflamingo paused at that. “Probably just that Straw Hat,” he said, but he reached for the paper anyway, his curiosity piqued.
As he read the words written in an entirely too fancy script, a chuckle bubbled out of his chest, the sound of his laughter soon echoing around the castle courtyard. This was honestly hilarious. As if it wasn’t enough they had allowed Crocodile to get beaten by Straw Hat, now they were basically admitting they were scared enough of him to call on the Seven Warlords.
And from their wording, it didn’t sound like it was just about him either. A few names that he imagined would make the government shit itself came to mind—Eustass Kid, Jewelry Bonney, X. Drake, and…
“The world is getting fun,” he mumbled to himself in between his bouts of laughter.
Getting up from the couch, he took the magazine out of Baby 5’s hands, tossing it at Trebol. “This place better not exist by the time I get back.”
“Aye aye, Doffy!” Trebol laughed.
Baby 5’s enraged scream was the last thing Doflamingo heard as he left the Dressrosa castle behind.
—————
A finger twitching, a smile widening, a sword swinging wildly; confused, terrified screams resounding around the spacious meeting room—puppets who didn't even realise they were just props for his amusement. Moving only as the puppet master commanded.
How Doflamingo enjoyed watching the despair take over once they realised they were powerless, only doomed to watch themselves slay their own friends. Granted, no pathetic navy soldier could be as entertaining as King Riku on the night Doflamingo had finally made it to Dressrosa but he would take it anyway.
“Doflamingo, I told you to be a good boy and behave,” Tsuru said, her voice quiet but stern, like a grandmother reprimanding her grandchild.
“Aw, but Tsuru, aren’t you bored of this pointless chatter?” Doflamingo replied, shooting her his best grin.
“Why did you come if you didn’t want to hear what we have to say anyway?”
Doflamingo paused at her words. Why was he there? All they’ve talked about was Straw Hat and this Blackbeard guy who had invited himself—or his crewmember—over. He had really thought there would be something more fun to be heard.
Yet, he couldn’t bring himself to regret coming.
And he couldn’t help but laugh. “I missed your loving scolding, Tsuru.”
Tsuru sighed but then shook her head and looked away. “Never mind.”
Doflamigo’s chuckle slowly grew into a full laugh. Ah, he really liked her. Was this the bond you get when you get chased by the same person for years and years?
Now if only she and Sengoku would talk about the people he really wanted to know about.
—————
"Well, this really is unusual," Tsuru noted, one eyebrow raised as she regarded Doflamingo. “This is the third Warlord meeting in a row that you’ve attended.”
Doflamingo chuckled. “Ah, but Tsuru, you didn’t give me much choice last time. Not to mention how fun the war was, you know I couldn’t have missed that one.”
“Don’t give me that, boy,” Tsuru said with a roll of her eyes.
“You don’t trust me, after all these years? That hurts,” Doflamingo said in his best mock-upset tone.
“I don’t trust you being so cooperative.” She made a face, distaste at what she was going to say clear in her expression. “But I do trust you thought the war was fun. You’ve always been like that.”
Loud laughter bubbled out of Doflamingo’s chest. Leave it to Tsuru to say things so bluntly—and to understand him so well. After all, he had always loved dramatic events that affected… everything. And if he got to play with a few pathetic bugs while at it, all the better. The war was perfect. He didn’t care about victors or losers; he didn’t care about Portgas, Whitebeard, or the navy. He didn’t care about any of it.
But watching history unfold before his very eyes… that was worth going out of his way to do what the idiots at Mariejois wanted.
And now…
“I hear the Warlord replacements have been decided?” Doflamingo asked.
Tsuru stayed silent, simply studying Doflamingo as he stared back at her, his usual grin not showing a single hint of his thoughts. She looked like she was trying to cut his brain open with her eyes and read his mind.
Doflamingo didn’t hate the look.
Honestly, it was fun.
Who would win? Tsuru and her calm, stoic gaze, or Doflamingo and his wide, ever-present grin? Her wise, experienced mind, or Doflamingo’s madness?
He couldn’t wait to see.
—————
Walking around the Pangea castle, Doflamingo couldn’t help but marvel at how different it felt now compared to when he was a kid. Back then, he was one of the people hiding behind the bubbles, behind the walls, behind CP0. Having every need satisfied without having to lift a finger—endless supply of slaves, unconditional protection from the navy headquarters below.
A little brat, he couldn’t see how weak and pathetic the Celestial Dragons really were.
How fragile that power was.
Now, however, watching Charlos waddle around like a toddler crying for his daddy… Doflamingo just had to laugh—quietly at first; but soon, he was cackling loudly without restraint.
What was the point of people like this ruling the world? They didn’t have what it took. They were so below him; if he didn’t have a use for them, they wouldn’t be worth a single spec of his attention. But luckily for them… even an otherwise worthless human served its purpose.
Like puppets on strings, simply dangling his knowledge in front of their noses had them dancing in Doflamingo’s palm, all their assumed power—gone.
He wondered, once he got bored of Dressrosa, how much effort would it really take to sit on the ‘Empty’ Throne?
“What’s so funny, Doflamingo? Don’t you have anything better to do?”
“You don’t think the world is funny, Tsuru?” Doflamingo asked, shooting a wide grin at the Great Advisor.
“No,” Tsuru said coldly and her annoyed voice only made Doflamingo chuckle again.
Comfortable silence settled between them, one born of the bond between a mouse and a cat who’d been playing tag for a few years too long. Who was the mouse and who was the cat?
It didn’t really matter anymore.
But then Tsuru spoke up. “Trafalgar Law,” she said quietly and Doflamingo’s ever-present grin dropped.
“Oh? What about him?” Doflamingo finally asked after a beat of silence.
The old woman sighed, “From North Blue. Has the power of the stolen Op Op Fruit. Started making a name for himself around the same time Straw Hat Luffy had. It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out.” She paused, taking a deep breath, her eyes rising to look at the brilliant blue sky. Possibly wondering why she was even bringing this up herself. “What is your connection to him? To have you care enough to show up here of all places four times.”
The silence came back for a moment… but then Doflamingo’s lips stretched into his usual grin once more. And soon, his laughter was ringing around them.
“You’re really nosy. Aren’t you, Tsuru?” he asked, his hand coming to rest against his forehead, just above his glasses. Shielding them. He wasn’t sure why.
Tsuru still wasn’t looking at him when she replied, “You don’t have to tell me, I don’t really care that much.”
Doflamingo huffed at her words. “Now, that’s just mean.”
“What, you want a hot cocoa and a bedtime story?” Tsuru asked with a voice full of sarcasm.
“I’d certainly want to see you do that.” Doflamingo stopped laughing then. “Law is… the one that got away.”
At that, Tsuru finally looked at him; it was a look that Doflamingo could only describe as annoyed and completely, utterly done. Ah, what a great expression to put on that old face. Well worth coming to Mariejois just for this reaction.
“Do you have to always say things in the creepiest way possible?” she asked, exasperated. Before Doflamingo could so much as lick his lips, however, Tsuru sighed and shook her head. “Don’t answer that. Glad at least one of the kids you picked up had enough sense to run away while he could.”
“Now you’re just hurting me on purpose,” Doflamingo teased just before he turned to leave.
“As if you need me to baby you,” Tsuru shot back and Doflamingo could just hear her eyes rolling.
Doflamingo huffed, simply waving back at her lazilly as he walked away, not looking back.
—————
Outside Dressrosa’s royal palace, there was a crowd of people, shouting; they wanted answers, voiced their worry, demanded to see their king.
On the floor, an army of transponder snails was ringing incessantly, their owners in panic.
But Doflamingo didn’t care, not about a single one of them. He was waiting for a single person to speak up, a single snail to wake up.
At the centre of the room, four thrones sat empty without their Officers. The last time he had talked to Tsuru, all four of them had an owner. There was still a Corazon.
But now—
Purururu… Purururu…
Now, the Heart seat sat empty.
Until the end (Doflamingo x F!Reader) - 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓹𝓽𝓮𝓻 3
Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - . - Chapter 4
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next morning, she woke up as soon as the first rays of sunshine coloured the sky.
(Y/N) stretched her limbs with a big yawn but stopped remembering that she fell asleep outside, she was wondering how she got in bed but her tired brain refused to think about it and told her to just get up.
The children looked like angels, sleeping soundly and peacefully. Even Law looked at peace in that moment, his face relaxed and not contorted in that serious look he always had. She observed them, a smile gracing her lips.
"So cute", she squealed internally.
Not wanting to stand there until the kids woke up, she took her shoulder bag and went outside in the same spot she sat with Rosinante. No one was awake yet, which was a good thing for (Y/N) who took out her journal and started going over what she wrote about the Sabaody Archipelago, checking if she needed to add something to it.
«Already up?», it was a miracle she didn't had a heart attack.
Snapping the journal close, she turned to face Doflamingo.
«Good morning, Young Master», she bowed slightly with a smile.
Doflamingo chuckled.
«What are you hiding there? Behind your back», he tried peaking.
(Y/N) didn't even realize she hid the journal behind her back, it must have been a reflex. She gulped; he was good at making people feel uncomfortable, not only with words but also with his body language, his arrogance helped that.
«Just my journal, Young Master, I... I had it since I left my hometown», (Y/N) showed it to him.
He reached out to take it and started going over a few pages looking at the pictures in it and the occasional drawing with a description under it; everything written in a delicate and precise calligraphy, almost harmonious.
«You travelled a lot in these years», he laughed while handling it back to her, «That's impressive for a slip of a girl as you».
«I'm not sure what you mean by that», she was genuinely confused by his words.
«I'm surprised you didn't die; the world is a dangerous place for weaklings like yourself», he kept on smiling, it was his usual sadistic smile.
«I may look weak, but I can take care of myself», she was offended and annoyed.
"Bitch ass flamingo, I'll show you weak", she stared at the red lenses of his glasses, standing her ground.
Doflamingo let out a genuine amused laugh. Servants never dared to show anything but respect and fear for him, however (Y/N) got defensive when he tried to belittle her like he did to everyone else.
«Luck must have been on your side», he bit back before leaving her there, mouth agape and rage bubbling inside her.
"Hope your coat catches fire with you in it", she gave him the middle finger when he turned around.
(Y/N) sat there outraged about being seen as weak, she wasn't the best fighter that's true, but she wasn't completely vulnerable either. Fortunately, seeing the children still sleepy, rubbing the tiredness out of their eyes made her anger melt away in an instant; she noticed how Law's dark circles got darker, so she made a mental note to watch over him the same night to make sure he got enough sleep, he was still young, so sleep was important for him.
«Good morning, kids», and with a nutritious breakfast the day started.
The morning passed by rather quickly; Law kept on studying, while Buffalo, Baby 5 and (Y/N) played different kind of games. They all just had lunch when Diamante announced that they had to pack their things because they would set sail in a few hours, the Donquixote Family was moving their headquarters into a better island to expand their business.
«Check again if you have everything», (Y/N) admonished the children.
«Do you have just that?», Buffalo asked pointing at her shoulder bag.
She looked down at the old worn-out bag.
«Yeah, I don't like bringing lots of stuff when moving around frequently», she simply stated before getting everyone out of the building.
She helped the children move their stuff into the ship, she didn't think that they would be changing location so soon, she honestly thought they would've stayed there for a couple of months minimum. Not that she complained, it just took her by surprise.
Travelling with pirates meant that Marine's ship would attack them, which happened; the kids were standing there admiring the fight and helping, while (Y/N) stood a few steps behind to not hinder them.
Apart from the occasional encounter with the Marines' ships, the journey went smoothly. (Y/N) spent her days looking after the children, sometimes she could enjoy some alone time because of family meetings, while during the night she took a little extra time alone on the ship's deck before going to sleep.
«We're here», (Y/N) was playing some board game with the children when they got interrupted.
The children ran to the front of the ship to admire the new temporary home. It was a livelier island, that's for sure, plus each member of the family got their own bedroom with their own bathroom, so no more sharing showers or waiting for others to finish; the servants had to share one bedroom with bunk beds and a bathroom, it wasn't that bad, everything was clean and in perfect shape. (Y/N) and the cooks agreed that she would take the only single bed which was close to the door, in case one of the children needed her during the night.
The cooks didn't even have time to unpack their belongings, they had to rush into the kitchen and make dinner. Doflamingo didn't like tardiness from anyone except his family, obviously. In the meantime, (Y/N) took her time to put the few clothes she owned into one of the wardrobe's drawers, taping a piece of paper with her name on it so everyone knew her stuff was in there; then, she put her undergarments into the drawer under the first one and labelled it too.
«(Y/N)! (Y/N)!», Baby 5 and Buffalo came barging into the room.
«Ei ei, what's the rush, kids?», she closed the wardrobe's doors and turned her full attention to them.
«We're going on a mission tomorrow, are you coming with us?», knowing they meant a "mission" with the family, she smiled softly.
«Kids, I'm not allowed to be with you when you go on missions», she patted their heads.
They looked confused, after all she was their nanny, so she was supposed to watch over them all day long, play with them and be there for them since the adults had better things to do.
«I'm not part of the family, but I'll wait for you to come back and tell me about it», they started smiling again.
«Now, go wash your hands before dinner», she chuckled.
Buffalo and Baby 5 ran back to their rooms.
(Y/N) knocked on Law's door, waiting for his reply before opening it.
«Law dinner is almost ready, wash your hands, please», the little boy was sitting at his desk, concentrating on a medicine book.
At first, he stood still; then, he got up and walked into the bathroom connected to his room. She smiled as she leaned against the door frame.
«You're it!», Baby 5 poked her leg and ran away giggling.
«Oh, you're in, miss», she smiled running after her.
It was easy for (Y/N) to catch up, she was older, and her legs were longer. She reached the little girl and swept her up into her arms, holding her against her chest and tickling her.
«Got you, little miss», (Y/N) laughed.
Baby 5 was laughing as well, trying to get out of her grip.
«I surrender», the child managed to say in between laughter.
(Y/N) stopped and put her down, straightening Baby 5's dress and fixing her hair, making sure she looked presentable for that night's dinner. She didn't want the others to think she was manhandling the children.
After waiting for the other two children, she wished them a good dinner before opening the door of the dining room for them.
«See you later, (Y/N)», they waved at her.
«See you later, kids», she smiled waving back, before closing the door.
Her smile fell, leaving her with an embarrassed expression. She still wasn't used to feeling those strong gazes on her; whenever a member of the family stared at her, no matter if she was alone or with the children, she could feel them checking her every movement, ready to beat her if she messed something up.
(Y/N) went into the kitchen to enjoy her dinner and night chat with the cooks.
«Sucks to be you, (Y/N), I couldn't stick around the Donquixote Family for more than 2 minutes», one of the chefs commented while washing the dishes.
She looked at him before taking a sip of coffee.
«Believe me, I'm shocked I haven't pissed myself whenever I'm around them», she commented finishing her coffee.
«Well, I have to go, the children are probably looking for me», she left the cup with the rest of the dirty dishes.
«Oh... Hi there», she beamed as she looked at the children, sitting outside.
«We were waiting for you», Buffalo admitted while standing up.
(Y/N) felt pride in hearing those words, she liked when children warmed up to her, it was like a reward.
«Then, let's get you tucked in, shall we?», offering them her hands, she lead them into their own rooms.
First was Law, since he wasn't big on affection, she tucked him in after he was ready for bed and simply stroked his hair.
«Goodnight, Law, sleep well. If you need me, I'll be in the servants' room», Law just hummed in response and buried himself under the covers.
Then she went to Buffalo, the boy was bigger than normal, so she was extra careful with him and checked twice if he was tucked in properly; she didn't want him to have his limbs stitching out of the covers.
«Goodnight Buffalo, sleep well you need energy for tomorrow», she kissed his forehead.
«Goodnight (Y/N)», he yawned and closed his eyes, falling asleep almost instantly.
The last one was Baby 5. She, once again, made sure she was tucked in.
«Goodnight, Baby 5, sleep well. Have sweet dreams», she kissed her forehead as well.
«Goodnight, (Y/N)», the little girl turned on her side and closed her eyes.
«(Y/N)?», Baby 5 almost whispered, making (Y/N) stop.
«Yes, sweetie?», she walked back near the girl's bed.
Baby 5 sat up; her eyes were fixated on her hands.
«Will you be with us forever?», the question took (Y/N) off guard.
She wasn't sure what to say.
«Don't worry, little miss, I'll always be there for you», it was a lie.
(Y/N) knew she would have to leave once they became adults, but for now she let them believe she would be there forever.
«Thank you, (Y/N)», Baby 5 smiled and hugger her neck.
After cuddling for a few minutes, the little girl fell asleep, letting (Y/N) have her alone time. She was standing on a rock near the beach, they always taught her that night is the mother of counsel, but tonight wasn't bringing anything to her.
Burying her head in her folded arm, she sighed.
«What a liar», she scolded herself.
Putting herself together as she heard Rosinante's tripping behind her, she chuckled and helped him up.
«Hello to you too, Corazon-sama», they sat on the rock together as they stared at the night sky.
Years passed, the children were growing, and a new entry made (Y/N)'s heart flutter. His name was Dellinger, he was half human and half fishman; he was still a baby when he got in the family, so (Y/N) had to start joining meals to help feed him. She also had to change his diapers and clean whenever he made a mess. He was a handful, but thankfully she had two little helpers: Buffalo and Baby 5; while she wasn't seeing Law as much as before, he was going through a special training program since he would become Doflamingo's right hand in a few years.
(Y/N) kept part of her promise to Baby 5 and always stayed with the children when they needed her; she would always help them and hold them if they needed to let their emotions out with someone who wasn't part of their family. The adults of the Donquixote Family weren't really empathic when it came to certain things, so the children always came to her.
It was dinner time, like usual (Y/N) made the children wash their hands and then took them into the dining room; she sat down and let Dellinger sit on her legs. He was already 3 years old, but he still insisted on using her as a chair declaring she was comfortable and that it also helped him feel tall like the others. And because of that (Y/N) always made sure to eat before them, so her stomach wouldn't make noises during dinner.
"My heart can't take this much cuteness", she tried to keep calm and not being too excited, she didn't want to disrupt the others as they were eating.
«The children really like you, (Y/N)», Doflamingo observed.
(Y/N)'s smile froze on her lips.
«Yes, we do», Baby 5 agreed happily.
She turned to look at Doflamingo with a smile, making sure to look as believable as possible.
«I just do my job, Young Master, after all I own you for giving me shelter and food», she said.
«That's right», he chuckled before resuming his dinner and chatter.
Dinner went on like usual and, in what felt like a handful of seconds, it was over.
«Awww, baby, are you tired?», (Y/N) cooed after Dellinger yawned and clanged on her neck.
It was getting late, the children all looked tired and (Y/N) wanted to be alone.
«Come on everybody, bedtime», she declared.
While the others were getting ready for bed, (Y/N) helped Dellinger take a bath and dressed him for bedtime. She was humming a goodnight song to him to make him fall asleep, when she caught a movement in the corner of her eye.
«Goodnight Dellinger, you'll grow up to be a strong boy», she kissed his forehead softly to not wake him up.
She tiptoed out of the room, closing the door with a barley audible click. She checked left and right; the hallway was empty.
«Weird... Maybe I'm just tired», she mumbled to herself.
After doing the usual bedtime routine for each child, she found herself outside.
«That flamingo asshole», she hissed remembering Doflamingo's words.
«That's right», she mocked him, «Arrogant, spoiled, prideful bastard».
She kept on mumbling to herself about Doflamingo's attitude towards her.
«His brother is better, for sure. Corazon is kind, understanding, intelligent, he's just a bit clumsy».
'Who is?', a note suddenly appeared in her field of vision.
«You, Cora-san», she giggled, moving a bit to make some space for him to sit.
They started having late night conversation every day in the last year and a half, she felt like she could tell him everything.
«How can you and Doflamingo be so different?», she puffed out a cloud of smoke, «I mean... you're so kind while he's just a dick».
Corazon gave a smile and a low chuckle.
'I suppose that's how having siblings works, some are good, some are bad', she nodded.
'Siblings?', she shook her head no.
«Nope, been an only child my whole life. The closest thing to a sibling is the children I'm babysitting right now», he made a face of disgust which made (Y/N) laugh.
«Yeah, I forgot you don't like children», she wiped a tear, «But, it seems you have a soft spot for Law».
Corazon froze in place, his eyes looking her up and down.
«I'm sorry, didn't mean to offend you», she put her hands up in defence.
'It's ok. I just don't know why you think I like him', he waited for her answer.
(Y/N) took a drag of her cigarette before letting the smoke come out of her nostrils as she sighed.
«I don't know to be honest; I just feel it's like that», she sniffed, «I think... I just want someone like you to be beside Law when I won't be needed anymore».
Corazon didn't really know what to do, he never saw her cry before.
'Don't worry, I'll take care of him', she was shocked by his words.
«Thank you, Rosinante», she hugged him, making sure not to set him on fire.
Now was his turn to be shocked by her words, she rarely called him by his real name; he hugged her back while his oldest brother watched the scene from his bedroom's window. He didn't necessarily feel jealous, he felt irritated by what he witnessed; despite the way he acts towards (Y/N) he was starting to grow an interest in the girl.
