80% of Asexuals have experienced sexual violence.
50% of Aces aren’t out to doctors & 20% say being out negatively impacted their care.
Only 25% of Aces are out to friends.
10% of Aces have been offered conversion therapy.
Ace Week may be over, but advocacy must continue.

ok send help. I found this reddit post with a bunch of links to a ton of really cool articles on asexuality and resources and that kind of thing (X) but OH MY GOD. I’M DYING. One of them was a link to an article on what sexual attraction actually feels like (X) and NOOOOOO JUST NOOOOO PEOPLE ARE JUST WALKING AROUND LIKE THIS??? Y’ALL ARE CRAZY
Edit: for fucks sake, stop being so mean in the comments. I know what I said but people who experience sexual attraction are not crazy, nor are they gross. I was merely trying to illustrate how foreign these feelings are to me. Trust me, I understand what you’re saying, I don’t have a sex drive and I’m sex repulsed, but try and be decent human beings PLEASE. The allos are lovely. Sex is beautiful. I’m beautiful. Which wasn’t really up for debate but it’s worth mentioning

Asexuals belong in and always have been part of the queer community.  Solidarity is essential.

My beloved asexuals,
I have a question in the name of science.
Do you have an exception? Someone you wouldn’t hesitate to have sex with?
Real or fictional. Dead or alive. At any point in time.
A celebrity, but specifically when they were thirty? A historical figure? From a movie or show? Anime? Cartoon? Game?
If you don’t have an exception, I would love to know that too.
Or if maybe it fluctuates depending on who your current favorite is.

Sorry Asexuals, I don’t believe in this I believe in celibacy, 5yrs for me to reevaluate your sexual priorities or address health issues or paying to play. Since Sex workers are being the MOST sexually responsible if they are sexually active as everyone wants a taste, it was important I took time off to decide what was smartest and safest for me and others. The “incel” culture I think is odd, they’re basically asexuals who couldn’t or think they can’t get laid so they gave up. I suppose some of you just like the IDEA of sex but sex is an ACTION it isn’t an idea but we all got our things. I’m thrilled to have sex with at least 6 millionaires then 150 average earners who are amazing lovers on film before this is all over.
Sex is risk, I get why you’re asexual but I’m thrilled to end my celibacy. lol Breaks are good, my situation Is vastly different. I got herpes at 23yrs old after years of hooking up with older men from 14-22yrs old with men 18-65yrs old when I was young as well, I consented I loved it I just wish they PAID me, only regret. Their secret is safe with TIME. Lucky they got young me, fuckers. HSV2, found out on my 23rd BDAY I thought it was the end of my sexual life as I didn’t ever wanna pass it. It’s a shame people get STDs or hiv and just say “Fuck it, imma be sexually reckless and spread it”.
BUG chasers also exist young men, they seek to get permanent disease to not have to fear it anymore which was a toxic thing the LGBT community allowed to grow in the pozzing community, sure the undetectable gays tried to stop it but they also just wanted everyone to still fuck men with HIV and shame men HIV negative with herpes, like myself. Testing 6 times a year for HIV to make sure I was HIV negative was/is smart as should YOU or every 14 days if you’re meeting new partners weekly, herpes I eventually found out wasn’t a death sentence nor was it the end of my sexual life, just had to make HUGE changes…
To be continued. https://linktr.ee/rainbow_raven27

I rewatched Nimona today
I rewatched Nimona today during work cause it's slow, I have all my homework done and there's still time left during my shift.
Well, yesterday, my mom and I watched a documentary about the LGBTQ+ movement and how it skyrocketed after the death of Matthew Sheppard, a gay man killed for being gay and it warned us about the slurs and the potentially triggering images of his injuries.
When I saw them, I went "I've seen worse in television" except those injuries killed him. I paused at that thought because I live in a world where it is scary to be a female who can't get reproductive care. I live in a world where I am a gay female who can't get reproductive care. I live in a world where I am a gay female who is proud and scared to be proud of myself who can't get reproductive care and it's because of people who have hurt people like Matthew.
I was watching the documentary and hearing his friends recount how much of a good person Matthew is, after he passed away, I almost cried. Looking at his wounds, that he died from, I almost cried today.
What does this have to do with Nimona?
I have watched that movie over ten times, and not once have I almost cried from that story. I didn't cry over the comic story line, I didn't cry during the movie. I almost cried during this run because I got some fucking insight into what we as a society have faced. And it made me realize how sheltered I am. Not was, but am.
My mom doesn't have a straight kid to her name (biological kid mind you, her nephew and my cousin is still figuring things out but I do believe he is straight (which is not wrong)) and she is so lucky because she has proud kids who are proud of being who they are and there is that fear as a parent I would assume that is "will there be someone who is going to hurt my babies?" cause she's a mom. That is her job to worry.
My mom is lucky because she hasn't needed to bury any of her kids for being themselves. My mom is lucky that she hasn't needed to bury any of her daughters due to rape, or any assault. My mom is lucky she hasn't lost any of her daughters because the world is full of shit.
I'm still sheltered, but the Matthew Sheppard story opened my eyes a little bit that he died for being himself and he isn't alone in the slightest. Not for gays, lesbians, transgenders, bisexuals, asexuals, or all of the above. My mom is lucky, my two sisters are lucky, I'm lucky, but we live in a world where if you don't face it, you tend to be sheltered.
At least that's what my experience is, and it's scary.
Sorry for the mindless rant but it's been running amok since yesterday and then soon after rewatching Nimona and it's just... a lot to think about and how we are reverting to being a bigoted society and it's scary to think about.
