Meet Samuel Sage. A successful tech entrepreneur and the protagonist of my upcoming visual novel. He is a man of integrity, intelligent, witty, and passionate.

But what you may find more interesting is that he is created completely using 3D modelling software and Photoshop.

Here is a series of images from different stages in the development of this character.

The final touches were applied using Photoshop to make the rendered character match the toon-shaded look of the background scene.

The two franchises were competitors; but when Hino pitched Capcom and Ace Attorney‘s writer Shu Takumi the idea of a crossover, after some convincing, both companies decided to work together on the project, making Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright much more than a cash-in. In fact, it is arguably overlooked as a great game, although don’t expect anything revolutionary.

I'm obsessed by how this, out of context, is completely indistinguishable from what you'd see moments before being hit by a "BAD ENDING" screen while playing a dating sim.
