How to Prepare NEET Exam in 2 Months
Undertaking the preparation for a competitive examination, particularly one as challenging as the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), can be an intimidating endeavor. The NEET exam is known for its intense competition and the lofty aspirations of countless medical aspirants. Many students may find themselves pondering whether it's possible to adequately prepare for the NEET in just two months. While a longer preparation period is ideal, it's indeed feasible to make significant progress with the right strategy and unwavering dedication within this limited time frame. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore effective strategies for preparing for the NEET exam in just two months.
Subject-Specific Preparation
Physics: An in-depth understanding of fundamental concepts is crucial. Focus on key topics such as Mechanics, Electrodynamics, and Modern Physics. Use diagrams and real-life examples to simplify complex concepts. Create concise notes for easy reference when revising formulas and important derivations.
Chemistry: Divide your chemistry preparation into Organic, Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry segments. Organic Chemistry requires a comprehensive grasp of reaction mechanisms, while Inorganic Chemistry leans more toward memorization. Physical Chemistry demands strong problem-solving skills.
Biology: Given its substantial weightage in the NEET exam, Biology can be a scoring subject. Concentrate on the content found in NCERT textbooks, as a significant portion of the biology questions are directly derived from these sources. Thoroughly understand diagrams, cycles, and biological processes to excel in this subject.
Strategically Allocate Study Time According to Exam Pattern
Understanding the NEET exam pattern is of utmost importance. Effective time management is the key to success with 180 questions to be answered within 180 minutes.
Physics (45 questions): Dedicate one hour of study time. Begin by tackling direct formula-based questions and then move on to more complex ones.
Chemistry (45 questions): Allocate approximately 50 minutes. Start with Inorganic Chemistry, then Organic Chemistry, and finish with Physical Chemistry.
Biology (90 questions): Reserve around 80 minutes for this subject. Prioritize questions from the NCERT textbooks of classes 11 and 12.
Refer to Previous Papers and Practice Mock Tests
Analyzing past year's question papers is foundational when devising a two-month NEET exam preparation plan. These archives serve as a window into the evolving nature of the exam, offering insights into the types of questions, variations in difficulty, and recurring themes or emphasized areas. This process is akin to understanding the rhythm and nuances of the examination.
In addition to reviewing past papers, it is essential to engage with mock tests. These simulated exams not only demystify the exam pattern but also equip students with crucial time management skills, ensuring they navigate the actual exam confidently.
Consider Enrolling in a Short-Term NEET Coaching Center
For many aspirants racing against time, joining a short-term coaching center can be a strategic decision. These specialized centers offer crash courses that are tailored for time-constrained students, focusing intensely on pivotal topics and ensuring comprehensive coverage.
Moreover, these centers provide an environment for rigorous practice through regular mock tests. These tests are meticulously designed to closely resemble the actual NEET exam, helping students become accustomed to the pattern, pacing, and pressure. The valuable aspect of these centers is the actionable feedback given after assessments. Experienced educators analyze student performances, identifying strengths to be leveraged and weaknesses to be addressed. In essence, for those with limited time, these coaching centers act as catalysts, accelerating the preparation process and maximizing the potential for success.
Address Weaknesses Proactively
Every aspirant faces subjects or topics that appear more challenging than others, often labeled as 'weak areas.' Ignoring these weak points is a common tendency, but it is not a productive approach. With just two months left for preparation, it's essential to confront these challenges head-on. Rather than letting apprehension dominate, use it as motivation to enhance your understanding.
Converting these weaknesses into strengths is vital and is at the core of efficient preparation. Seek external assistance by consulting teachers for deeper insights, collaborating with peers for diverse perspectives, or exploring online resources. In the realm of competitive exams, every point gained holds immense significance. Embrace your weaknesses, transform them into assets, and remember that every investment effort counts.
In Conclusion
While the task of preparing for the NEET exam in just two months may appear formidable, it is far from impossible. You can increase your chances of success with a balanced blend of discipline, strategy, and hard work. Your commitment to your NEET preparation strategy will ultimately determine your success. Stay motivated, have faith in your abilities, and always remember that the quality of your preparation matters more than the quantity of time you have at your disposal.

[TIME is Private US Media]
[By Anatol Lieven]
The long-awaited counteroffensive last year failed. Russia has recaptured Avdiivka, its biggest war gain in nine months. President Volodymyr Zelensky has been forced to quietly acknowledge the new military reality. The Biden Administration’s strategy is now to sustain Ukrainian defense until after the U.S. presidential elections, in the hope of wearing down Russian forces in a long war of attrition.
This strategy seems sensible enough, but contains one crucially important implication and one potentially disastrous flaw, which are not yet being seriously addressed in public debates in the West or Ukraine. The implication of Ukraine standing indefinitely on the defensive—even if it does so successfully—is that the territories currently occupied by Russia are lost. Russia will never agree at the negotiating table to surrender land that it has managed to hold on the battlefield.
This does not mean that Ukraine should be asked to formally surrender these lands, for that would be impossible for any Ukrainian government. But it does mean that—as Zelensky proposed early in the war with regard to Crimea and the eastern Donbas—the territorial issue will have to be shelved for future talks.
As we know from Cyprus, which has been divided between the internationally recognized Greek Republic of Cyprus and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus since 1974, such negotiations can continue for decades without a solution or renewed conflict. A situation in which Ukraine retains its independence, its freedom to develop as a Western democracy, and 82% of its legal territory (including all its core historic lands) would have been regarded by previous generations of Ukrainians as a real victory, though not a complete one.
As I found in Ukraine last year, many Ukrainians in private were prepared to accept the loss of some territories as the price of peace if Ukraine failed to win them back on the battlefield and if the alternative was years of bloody war with little prospect of success. The Biden Administration needs to get America on board too.[...]
Ukrainians have scored some notable successes against the Russian Black Sea Fleet, but to take back Crimea they would need to be able to launch a massive amphibious landing, an exceptionally difficult operation far beyond their capabilities in terms of ships and men. Attacks on Russian infrastructure are pinpricks given Russia’s size and resources.
More realistic is the suggestion that by standing on the defensive this year, Ukrainians can inflict such losses on the Russians that—if supplied with more Western weaponry—they can counterattack successfully in 2025. However, this depends on the Russians playing the game the way Kyiv and Washington want to play it.
The Russian strategy at present appears to be different. They have drawn Ukrainians into prolonged battles for small amounts of territory like Avdiivka, where they have relied on Russian superiority in artillery and munitions to wear them down through constant bombardment. They are firing three shells to every one Ukrainian; and thanks in part to help from Iran, Russia has now been able to deploy very large numbers of drones.
For Ukrainians to stand a chance, military history suggests that they would need a 3-to-2 advantage in manpower and considerably more firepower. Ukraine enjoyed these advantages in the first year of the war, but they now lie with Russia, and it is very difficult to see how Ukraine can recover them.[...]
A successful peace process would undoubtedly involve some painful concessions by Ukraine and the West. Yet the pain would be more emotional than practical, and a peace settlement would have to involve Putin giving up the plan with which he began the war, to turn the whole of Ukraine into a Russian vassal state, and recognizing the territorial integrity of Ukraine within its de facto present borders.
For the lost Ukrainian territories are lost, and NATO membership is pointless if the alliance is not prepared to send its own troops to fight for Ukraine against Russia. Above all, however painful a peace agreement would be today, it will be infinitely more so if the war continues and Ukraine is defeated.

Prodecktorate Meta Report May 2011
Endbringer attacks are always tumultuous times, especially for competitive card gamers. Let's take a look at how the meta has developed under the new banlist!
Tier 1
- Toybox: Endbringer attack? Irrelevant. The Tinker resource loop remains as reliable as ever. Of course, calling it "Toybox" instead of "Random pile of Tinkers" is a bit of a stretch at this point. However, any savvy pilot of this deck is preparing for a potentially rough couple of months ahead as Armsmaster's future remains unclear.
- Birdcage Aggro: Formerly merely lurking at the edges of the meta, the death of Bastion and Shielder was an incredibly lucky break for enjoyers of this deck, taking out two of its biggest counters while their own cards remain safe as ever.
Tier 2
- Houston: Yes, we get it, you can run Eidolon. But with the powerlevel slowly creeping upward, their one good play is starting to lose relevancy and players are starting to jump ship to more promising decks.
- Masterswarm: Some volatility is to be expected with this deck as players are exploring the new strategies Skitter brings in, but its ability to outgrind the opponent in the late game seems to be on par with previous Tier 2 contenders.
Tier 3
- Emotion Control: Having to switch from Gallant to much weaker heroes was a major hit for this deck, but the remaining Master/Thinker core is still solid enough to make it a respectable threat.
- Scion Stall: Still only a meta deck by technicality, a handful of lucky gamblers managed to place high enough in various tournaments to give this deck a place on the list once again.
Newly Untiered:
- Ward Control: Formerly solidly middle of the pack, the loss of Aegis' role compression capabilities catapulted this deck into near obscurity. Let's hope the new recruits give us some fresh options!
- Ethnostun: Kaiser dead thank you thank you thank you thuank y

Your bottom dug into the fancy marbled chair as you held the gold-plated ceramic cup by it's handle, taking in the sweet scent of your freshly prepared tea. Nothing could bug you in the situation— well except the chair, it was a rather beautiful evening, so you enjoyed your little space in the castle grounds yet when you were met by visits of numerous households— because they had nothing to do, your evening was then ruined.
"Rumour has it that King Seungcheol will host the first ball of the season!" The ladies squealed as their mamas fanned themselves, coming up with strategies to win the King's heart, and you, the miser treasurer of the kingdom buried yourself in more of the workload as Seungcheol was holding a ball, thus increasing your work, one thing you knew, the ball was going to be ridiculously extravagant.
"y/n, will you join the ball or are you thinking of honing your banking skills more?" A lady asked you, her hat tipped on the other side and was very dangerously near to fall off.
"Seungch— The King did ask me to have fun once a while— though he is the one increasing my workload," you murmured, opening the book which rested near you, which consisted of undoubtedly the accounts of where Seungcheol had spent his money, you felt like his personal accountant sometimes or more, his personal assistant.
You and the many ladies and mamas were seated in the royal garden, you wanted to take random strolls between work but your cousins called you over and you hated yourself for starting to adore them this soon into your life.
You had been in Aurum for around three months now, and there wasn't any way you were cut out for the job, you hissed as you pushed the thoughts at the back of your mind, they would do nothing but make you feel worthless.
"So you're saying it's the king's fault!" The lady gasped, attracting by-standers by her scandalous words.
"What— do you mean to say our King is faulty?"
"I surely meant nothing like that— you are misunderstanding my words," you tried to reason but no one would hear you.
Gold, gold was a currency, with the formula of Au— short abbreviation of Aurum, a latin word, which literally meant gold. Gold, a cheeky little thing with too much market value. Gold, a round currency which could help you be the most fulfilled person in Meraki, Gold which Seungcheol abundantly had and Gold which you wanted to shove into their mouths screaming, EAT THIS. (in lower case because you weren't confrontational)
"So what if she curses me for making her work, it wasn't as if she chose this job for herself, I chose her."
A very familiar voice resounded against you, helping you to get out of this mess, you couldn't help but look up at him, his curls decorated his face, his eyes were tender and his lips were soft. He didn't change in any way was the only thing you thought.
"Your majesty," the majority of your accusers bowed deeply as some took their time to get out of shock, why was a King in the publicly accessible garden and not in his residential and private ones?
"Don't pressurize her, she works harder than most of you and she's the reason Aurum thrives," Seungcheol argued on your behalf as almost instantly everyone apologised to you, almost everyone started to sing you praises and almost everyone realized that you didn't greet the king, yet he wasn't angry.
"Your majesty, it's great to see you here, we are blessed by your presence— but what you must be doing here?"
It is literally his castle? You're the ones trespassing?
"I had to talk about something to our dear treasurer here," Seungcheol pointed at you. "Come."
You silently stood up from your seat, collecting all the records in your hands, Seungcheol didn't let you though, he could have asked his guard to pick up your books, he should have asked his guard to pick up your books, but he found solace in pissing others off and helping you at the same time.
He was like a child at times, an obscenely cute man-child, you couldn't help but admire him then too, when must you find a man like him behaving so sweetly?
"You should have been rude to them too," Seungcheol whined while handing you his expenses of Lux.
"Thanks for helping me back there," you simply said, opening up the small page he gave to you where he had recorded everything in his sloppy and messy handwriting, which was weird because his handwriting was strangely good, and then you saw, "You drink a lot."
"I don't! I bought most of the drinks for Chan! And I'm your friend, I will most surely step in to help you, plus I'm your king, I can't stand unjust people."
"You spent seven million on drinks alone?"
"Hey! They were like imported from a different planet and Chan drinks a lot," He reasoned as you sighed, opening the single book you held in your hand and pushing his expenses into it.
"Thanks for the detailed expenditure."
"I didn't want you to go mad tallying the sheets, so I made the mental note to write everything down, I remember your mental breakdown from two weeks ago," he grinned like a child, you couldn't help but see the newfound twinkle in his eyes, does he want a praise?
You scoffed, "Any responsible person will do that."
"Hey! Since when are you this rude to me?"
"Since when you barged into my room when I was still changing," you reminded him as your frown deepened and he flushed more.
"That was an honest mistake!"
You were a scholar on your first day of Aurum and you were graduating at the top of your class the next day, and that's when Seungcheol hired you, because the past treasurer was now retired and Seungcheol wanted someone with young blood.
"So is expecting that your workers will be ready for you anytime for the day, they might be sleeping, they might be eating, and they might be showering," you reasoned walking further from Seungcheol.
"Are you still upset? It was a month ago! I gave you the rights to treat me as a friend!"
You sighed, was that any kind of compensation? You didn't want to be his friend, at this point you were just as annoyed with your life here as your life on Earth. There were some moments which you enjoyed, there were some moments when your heart fluttered for the man, but it was hard for you to fall in love and you couldn't make anyone fall for you.
"Your Majesty, Choi Seungcheol, I am fine."
"You know I don't like it when people call me by my full name," he whined, passing your books to one of his guards as he walked faster to catch up with you.
"I am your friend, aren't I?" You grinned as you looked back at him, he seemed annoyed but you didn't care, he dropped an axe on his own foot when he asked to be your friend.
"Oh and the princess of Phosphenes is here—"
"Fuck, I said I would meet her today," Seungcheol groaned.
"She's your guest, you should have met her two days ago?"
"I was in Lux!"
"Fair enough." You hummed as you walked forward.
"Where is she now?" He asked, still walking with you.
"I am not hers and nor your secretary, how must I know?" You said, adjusting the spectacles on your nose. "Oh, but now that I think, she went sight-seeing." You and Seungcheol then heard the royal trumpets, "And she's back."
"Fuck, should I escort her?" He asked, his brows crossed as his lips formed a full pout, you immediately looked away from him.
"That— ahem, that would be better for political situation," you merely replied, diverting your attention from him to anything you saw, the tree looked quite fine.
"Right, so get me a gift," Seungcheol asked, your eyes widened as you looked up at him to complain but then you remembered... as nice as he is to you, he is similarly prone to temper outbursts and you had annoyed him throughout the day.
"What gift do you deam appropriate?" You asked, caressing your gown to be clear of unwanted folds.
"A jewelry perhaps, ask the accountant to pass you a set of diamond earrings and necklace, make sure it's bulky," Seungcheol replied, twirling one of the braids in his hands.
He dressed better than any nobility you had seen may it be on Earth or in Meraki itself, all his robes were sewn with gold and his hairs were braided with silver threads, you remembered that he was going to ask the royal barber to cut his hair off— tomorrow, you remembered how badly you wanted to step in and ask him not to make that horrendous decision, pitying his beautiful locks. But, you were no one and he was the king. His ears were hidden behind his locks most of the time and the rare times you would see them, they would be red but you couldn't help but wonder, his ears weren't as pointed as it was made out to be.
"I will try to be as fast as possible, please excuse me," you said as you turned around.
"And listen!" He called out.
"Get some flowers."
Your eyes twitched, flowers? You had pollen allergy.
"Ask the Gardner to make you two bouquets, one a magnificent and large one, which will reside straight in her room and one which I can present to her."
You wanted to scream "Seriously?" to his face but you held your tongue.
"You yourself said it's a better political decision," he smiled.
"I did," you groaned internally as you merely nodded running off to find a gift and fucking flowers.
You ran as fast as you could in a dress to the greenhouse, you prioritised getting flowers first because gifts can be sent by servants, flowers given in person are more meaningful.
And there they were! Both the accountant and gardener tangled up as they ate each other's faces
THEY WERE DOING WHAT?
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry, shit, fuck, no, no cursing here! Oh god, I will leave!" You panicked and even though you should have been quieter you were not once quiet and surely, both of them noticed you.
"Lady y/n!? Oh god, it's not what it looks like—"
"There was a bee on his face!"
"WERE YOU EATING THE BEE?"
"NO! Why would I do that—"
"Rethink your excuse then!" You screamed and you could see that they were this near to remove each other's clothes off.
"Sir Eiz— Mr. Accountant, Seungch— th-the King wants some bulky diamond sets please arrange some for him."
"I am his account not his fucking secretary, there is not a single moment of peace— oh fuck, i shouldn't have said that, shit, I shouldn't have cursed."
"I heard nothing!" You wailed, covering your eyes you said.
"Just please do his work and then do whatever you want, my lips are sealed."
"Really?"
"Yes! I don't have any business with whatever you two were doing just please help me out," you pleaded as you sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose.
"Please make me a bouquet while you're at it, it should be a good one and make a five feet tall assortment to be transported to the room of our guest, in under three hours."
"With your time frame we can't go back to whatever we were doing any soon—"
"I am not hearing any complaints," you said rather harshly, but it had to be done. First, they were doing personal endeavours while stationed on their jobs, second, they bad mouthed Seungcheol and third, they were too complaining about the work they chose to do.
You weren't going to interfere or anything but if you saw anything faulty on their work frontier you would definitely ask Seungcheol to replace them.
Your eyes widened, it wasn't like you to be so cruel.
Did staying with that man child made me like this?
Somehow you compiled everything, you sent a servant to drop of the huge bouquet and the gifts to the princess' room but you yourself ran to Seungcheol to give the bouquet, you really wanted him to make a good impression on the phosphene's envoy— which oddly was their princess but you didn't care.
Phosphenes was a land of illusions and had numerous technologies advances, you hoped Aurum and its scientists could join forces with Phosphene's ones and create teleport points, why were you immersing yourself in your role as treasurer? Because you felt happy to be wanted at once, you felt happy to feel non-replaceable and you knew you couldn't stay here if you didn't take your work seriously, because then you would have a breakdown and princesses don't cry.
But ironically, the pollen was making you cry.
Your eyes and nose were red and because you were running towards Seungcheol the pollen was directly getting in your eyes.
I hate my job.
Just as your vision was getting clouded you saw Seungcheol, helping the princess out of her carriage on the front gates of the castle. You applauded yourself for reaching this soon.
You walked forward, without caring about your apparel, your hair was sticking to your forehead because of your sweat and you knew, you knew Seungcheol had noticed your presence like he always did.
You pushed the bouquet forward, relieved after completing your short term duties, but all Seungcheol saw was your quivering face and red eyes as you looked away from him.
Tumblr media
"Believe me, she had a tear-stricken face with red eyes and cheeks, as if she had lost something so dear to her heart, that she couldn't bear it," Seungcheol argued, clutching his champagne glass harder as he sunk himself more into his comfortable velvet chair, looking at Jeonghan who was shamelessly occupying his bed.
"y/n? Crying?" Jeonghan chuckled as he sipped his drink, keeping it on Seungcheol's nightstand he said, "Believe me Seungcheol, she seems like a girl who will suck up every emotion of hers just so that people can't see she's hurting inside."
"No! You don't understand, she definitely was upset at me for giving flowers to you know— the princess," he argued.
"Really?"
"Yeah, I think she—" Seungcheol trailed off remembering all the flushed expressions you bestowed upon him whenever he flirted with you, or joked with you; how happy (and shocked) you were when he had announced that you were his friend.
"I think she likes me! And on top of that she had to see me give flowers to another lady, oh my! And the flowers she brought herself!" Seungcheol's eyes widened as he groaned, slapping his forehead. "How was I so blind? How could I hurt her so much in a single day? She's a special friend to me."
Jeonghan chuckled, "Just because there were tears in her eyes doesn't mean that she was crying— you said she was human, right? Aren't humans weak? She might have hurt herself somewhere, it doesn't mean she was crying because of you." He reasoned.
Your resume had stated that you were an orphan and found yourself stuck in Meraki at a tender age— your adoptive parents took you in happily and as everyone in Meraki was super sweet to you, you didn't really have any problem. Your resume was a surprise to you too, more so because your resume was produced by Seungcheol— just because he wanted you to get to work faster he compiled every information about you in mere two hours.
Seungcheol remembered your resume and his heart sank, how could he make you go through so much emotional pain? You were only human, you were more sensitive and empathic than anyone in Meraki, surely you must have felt terrible.
"I feel so bad for causing her such pain," Seungcheol murmured as Jeonghan sighed.
"What was she wearing today, cheol?" He asked, taking in all of his champagne at once, Jeonghan wanted to confirm something.
"Why?" Seungcheol asked.
"Just so I could picture the situation better— it would be easier to help."
"Oh? Alright," Seungcheol closed his eyes as he wandered off in his vivid memories, he remembered all the butterflies circling around the roses, and how the starlings and nightingales sang joyously in his gardens, how the sun shone all too pleasantly accessorizing your glistening skin.
"She wore a pale blue gown with medium frills, decorated by small pearls and lace. Her hairs were done and she applied very little to no makeup today— I guess her makeup depends on her mood and how late she is, she wore a small diamond pendant and pearl earrings, circlet silver rings too."
Jeonghan confirmed— Seungcheol liked you. He was almost a simp at this point. Hell, you didn't know you wore all that.
"I see," Jeonghan whispered, not understanding how to present his conclusion to his friend.
"I...uhm... currently have no advice," Jeonghan opted to smile sheepishly.
"Well...you have rejected many proposals— I didn't expect you to have an advice."
"Well, I will advise you to consider your feelings also, rather than hers alone," Jeonghan spoke, having no idea about how to break the news to him.
But he shut his mouth, maybe it would be better if Seungcheol came on terms with his own feelings at his own pace, he might freak out if he tells him.
"I will take a note on that," Seungcheol said smiling at his friend and then he remembered something.
"Jeonghan?"
"Yes?"
"You weren't at my castle this morning and there was no news of your arrival."
Jeonghan laughed, "I snuck in."
"The guards let you in?"
"I come in too often," Jeonghan waved him off, "You on the other hand are coming over too less."
Seungcheol smiled sheepishly, "It's hard being a king— can't really snuck out now."
"Well, I wanted to scare my family."
"Don't tell me you're worrying uncle again, he's too old for your pranks," Seungcheol laughed, still allowing his best friend to stay.
"Well, he's the king of ailes, he's got better jobs to do than worrying about where his son is," Jeonghan smiled getting up from Seungcheol's bed.
"How long will you stay here?" Seungcheol asked.
"Two days more."
"You won't even stay for a week this time?"
Jeonghan smiled slightly, nostalgia visible on his face, "Sooner or later I have to take on the job too you know, I can't act immature at all times."
"Come on, everyone knows you're like super smart and luck always favours you."
"That's true," Jeonghan smiled. "Come on now, you should sleep, you have a date tomorrow."
"A date?" Seungcheol's face scrunched up, he never agreed for a date?
"Phosphenes sent its princess as an envoy, you really think that's the only reason why she's here? You're gonna have lunch and evening tea with her discussing political matters, your wedding would be finalized in a month," Jeonghan chuckled, but there was no humour behind his laugh.
"I'm not marrying her," Seungcheol asserted, looking away from Jeonghan.
"Whatever you say, no one really wants to cross you, you know. Maybe, your thoughts would be taken into consideration," Jeonghan smiled sadly, and Seungcheol couldn't help but wonder if there was something else behind his reasonings.
"Which room did you take?" Seungcheol asked.
"Oh? The room adjacent to yours, the connected one."
"The queen's chambers?" Seungcheol's mouth hung open, "You're gonna need to stop using Queen's chambers on your every visit, my servants will literally make a rumour spread like wildfire."
"Do you care?" Jeonghan laughed as he knew the answer, Seungcheol didn't care, he didn't care at all.
"Well then, Good night, hanie, if I get a nightmare I will enter your room."
"Oh god I'm gonna lock it."
Tumblr media
It would be a lie to say that Seungcheol was particularly enamoured by the lady in front of him, she was trying too hard to deviate the conversation from work.
"You see, the Lethe is prone to floods, it would be most probable if dams are built on it to obstruct the waters, as Lethe lies on the periphery of both Phosphenes and Aurum, we will fund half of the operation."
"What problem might you have with a bridge on Lethe?"
Seungcheol sighed, during these times he wondered if he should choose his queen on the basis of sole looks, Jeonghan was right afterall, he had to marry but all the royal prospects seemed far too dim to him to agree too and she was sailing in the same boat.
"The trade is handled by Elixir's air-ships in most of the kingdoms—"
"They benefit too much from the airships and what if Elixir wages war on any kingdom?"
"That... That prospect is highly unlikely, you can't just wage war on anyone, the peace treaty among the kingdoms of Meraki was signed fifty years ago by our grandparents under the seal of Angelos and Daimon faction— Lux of Meraki, there is no reason to break that vow anytime in upcoming seventy-five years atleast," Seungcheol tried to reason.
"I see," the princess fidgeted, "Aurum most definitely is the richest kingdom in all of Meraki but Phosphenes and Lux both are undeniably advanced although, I admit that Lux is probably too endeared by human culture and Ailes and Sonora are ridiculously good at arts and commerce and Elixir does have the most fearsome army."
"What's your point?"
"I don't see why you would want a deal with Phosphenes when you already have a deal with all the other kingdoms."
Seungcheol sighed, so that's what it was about, she was wary and scared that Seungcheol would stop the trade if he faced continuous losses due to heavy usage of Elixir's airships and Ailes's pixie dust.
"It's to expand our horizons, my lady. Aurum isn't the richest kingdom for no reason, we do the deals, we live up to them and we earn, it's simple really," Seungcheol replied. Most of the money they earned went into keeping up the domestic value of the country— education, healthcare, minimum wages, food and everything. Aurum was the biggest kingdom in all of Meraki.
"I see," the princess had a faraway look in her eyes.
And that left Seungcheol to his own thoughts, he thought about all his prospects, about his incomplete life as a king, he had to be wedded soon, his mother would force him to it and then he remembered you.
He remembered how you graciously understood every work, he remembered how you had such grandeur of plans for Aurum, he thought how appropriate you would be as a queen.
"Seungcheol..." The princess called to him as Seungcheol flinched, they were never on first name basis.
"Princess?"
"You know that my father sent me here for more reasons than just being an envoy right? I like Aurum and—"
"I would prefer it if we use titles to address ourselves, princess," Seungcheol smiled a warm smile, which still sent shivers up the princess' spine. She hastily agreed to everything he said, too embarrassed to push him.
The day went by blur and the tea time had now approached, after denying the lady of a lunch with him, he couldn't disagree for a tea time and so he sat, he sat in his favorite garden, replying to the princess about all the things he liked, but he hadn't had any slightest bit of interest in anything she spoke about. It was getting too awkward for both of them and then he saw her, approaching them and then his face lightened up and his heart quickened. He was slowly able to understand what all it meant but it was too soon, he had to apologise to her for breaking her heart.
He prayed for y/n to come and whisk him away, he prayed for attention and she came.
"I'm sorry for interrupting your grace, princess. I must talk to Seu— His Majesty about a special matter," you said, bowing slightly.
"Oh yes of course," Seungcheol was just trying to stand up and you said, "I must ask you, where is the fifteen million gold capital from our inventory, your majesty?" You asked with a tight-lipped smile. In all times Seungcheol knew you, he knew you were pissed right now.
"Oh, remember Hansol's café which he's setting up at Elixir? There, I sent gold there, free."
You merely nodded and just as you were excusing yourself Seungcheol got up.
"You have something more to ask of me, don't you?"
"Oh? I don—"
Seungcheol motioned you with his eyes, no. His brown beautiful eyes were glinting red and you panicked, "Yes surely! Uhm please i must require his help to sort the matter out, princess I'm very sorry for the intrusion."
The princess grimly stared at you both as she silently smiled, saying it was alright. Strangely, you felt bad for her but you didn't know why.
As you walked rapidly with Seungcheol you looked at him questioningly,
"What was that? Are you alright?"
"The deals were a trap, that old runt was setting me up with his daughter."
Your heart sank but you didn't let it show, muttering a small "oh" in response.
"y/n, i apologise to you," Seungcheol said, looking away from you and you stared at him more questionably if that was possible.
"Why so?"
"I broke your heart."
"What—"
"I know you liked me yet I made you bring flowers for another woman and made you prepare a present for her too, which I'm sure you would have loved more if it was presented to you by me, I'm sorry for my—"
"What the hell do you mean?" You looked up at him like he was crazy, sure you had to eventually make him fall in love with you, but you weren't planning on it? And certainly you never liked him currently, what was he on about?
"I'm sorry for—"
"I don't like you?"
"But you do," Seungcheol said with certainty.
"Oh? Stop being a pretentious brat and considering that everyone likes you," for some reason you were furious, furious that he had caught up to you so soon, furious that now you didn't see your plan taking any action.
"Oh? So now you're jealous of my instincts? It's alright, y/n, it's hard to be perfect like me, you don't have to pretend to not like me."
"But I really don't like you!"
"Oh really?" He asked as you nodded fervently, rapidly, howeverly, Seungcheol just hummed as he looked back and smiled at you, "Sorry for misunderstanding then."
You sighed in relief as you cleared whatever was stirring up in that man-child's head but little did you know, he whispered under his breath, "I will surely make you like me."

yes yes yes EXACTLY!!!!!!!! i need Charles to win the way he has won till now. his wins are the most spectacular races ever and there is not a single person who would say that he did not deserve to win that race. its pure talent for him. that’s why i know the next time charles wins it will be emotional and beautiful. and it’s coming soon 😤😤😤😤
God, I hope so. It seems like there is always something getting in the way of him winning another Grand Prix. Bad strategy, poorly timed safety car, the tiniest of errors in quali, awful pit stops, mechanical failures, you name it.
I would ask for some luck for Charles, but at the same time, I don't want his wins to be chalked up to luck. He is a phenomenal driver, and his team has been on fire lately with perfect pit stops, good strategy calls, and much better communication. You would think things will have to go Charles's way at some point.
And I so want Charles to be able to shut up all the doubters and nay-sayers. If I see another person bring up his pole-to-win ratio, I may just spontaneously combust. Or how he is inconsistent, doesn't come up with his own strategies like Carlos, that he is weak. Please. All this, along with the abysmal rankings he's been getting, tells me that people have ridiculously high expectations of him and/or see him as a threat.
So yes, I want Charles to win and I want it soon. I'll take Suzuka, please. Although if I must wait until Monaco for the next win, I will.* I would prefer there to be more wins by then already, but if Monaco were to break the drought, it would be all the sweeter. Forget about champagne - LEC ice cream for everyone!!!!!
*Fair warning: if when Charles wins Monaco, be prepared for me to be 1. a complete emotional wreck immediately after, and 2. utterly insufferable for weeks, maybe months after.

So a little explanation is in order, Earth 616 and Earth 199999 will be used in this story with slightly differences and narratives, overall on Earth 616, so for the sake of the story you will see the subtle changes in there. Reader will be trapped in her body, though her mind is slightly misplaced in the different earth's, our reality of course happens all in the cinematic universe so Earth 199999. As you can imagine, Agatha may try to be like Wanda, but she is not Wanda and her powers are completely different so...her world, is not perfect. Time too happens in a different light for those trapped in Agatha's world, so while in the reality it's only been three days, in their world is more like a couple of months...though only America and Wanda noticed it. Anyway, hope you enjoy this chapter!
Remember that English is not my mother tongue so I apologise for the grammar, spelling and funny mistakes.
Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 - Chapter 5 - Chapter 6 - Chapter 7 - Chapter 8 - Chapter 9
Chapter 10
Two-way universe
Somewhere in the multiverse -
The multiverse was a web of different lines crossing through the space and time existing in the nothing.
There were beings watching the unfolding of stories that occurred in different lights, and different lives. They did not intervene, unless the order of things was shaken by unexpected circumstances that could create a breach in the thin line of the multiverse.
America Chavez was such a breach.
She was supposed to die, but the people surrounding her had been fighting hard to protect her. Many had died, some others were gravelly injured, and now The Watcher had a single event that could break the peace he had overseen for millennia. Y/N Y/L/N was trapped in different worlds, in different versions of herself facing events she should not be aware of.
In a world that took a different path to create Earth’s Mighty Heroes, and the strategies to fence off their enemies she found happiness. In another world in which she was consumed by shadows while her world created a chaos of its own, she was trying to find peace while happiness escaped through her hands.
The Watcher had been waiting a verdict from the Living Tribunal, but the long silence only made him fidget with uncertainty.
If they decided to not intervene, it could only mean that what was about to happen, was meant to be.
*****
The first thing you were aware of was of the single weight on your left.
This time around you were prepared for your awakening, your eyes remained closed while you even out your breathing. There was no sound but that of muffled conversation and quick footsteps right outside the door, your limbs felt heavy and the weight on your side stirred only to snuggle closer to you.
The room was completely dark, the shadows fluttering around to help you disappeared from the spot on the bed. The fighting stance came as naturally as breathing, your eyes dark and ready focused on the form on the bed. It was a kid.
You swallowed down your disbelief when you realized you knew who the kid was.
Wanda’s child.
Correction, Wanda, and Vision’s child.
A sharp, painful pulse went right through your body making you fell on your knees. You held back your exclamations of pain, breathing hard while clenching your fists closed. Whatever had happened your body was really resenting the fact you were on your feet. With trembling legs you went to the clothes placed neatly on a chair, the child whimper curling on the bed hugging tightly a blue blanket in his arms.
For a brief moment, you hesitated.
He was obviously suffering, a nightmare perhaps.
With a sigh, you approached him placing a hand on his shoulder. Leaning in trying to put his hair out of the way, your voice soothing and comforting.
“Hey, it’s okay…it’s okay, kid, it’s a nightmare…”
“Momma?” The kid stirred, his eyelids trying to open while he sought you out.
Panic rose on your chest when he tried to reach out for you. His little hand wrapping around yours, tears on his face while he whimpered again.
“Momma.”
You glanced around the room, trying to locate an answer to this particular predicament. But you were alone, and the child was certainly crying and suffering silently. With a tentative movement you climbed into the bed and wrapped your arms around him, as soon as this happened he snuggled closer to you and all of a sudden a blue light engulfed him.
“I’m sorry, momma.” He apologised glancing at his hands, you blinked away your confusion as the kid tried to wriggle his hands and the blue mist. “I can’t stop.”
“Hey, kid, it’s okay…just breath, look at me.” You mumbled caressing his hair, the kid looked at you with big brown eyes, and you almost winced at the familiarity behind that face. “Just take a deep breathe…”
Billy did as he was instructed looking at the woman he recognized as his mother trying to control the power that wanted to get out after the nightmare plaguing his thoughts. He wanted to tell his momma that there was someone bad, an old lady dress in purple, and that mommy was in danger but soon the warmness of Y/N and her soothing voice was enough to help him go back to sleep.
You made it out of the room with a strange weight on your chest, you turned back to see the kid fast asleep on the bed you had occupied moments ago. His blue blanket still in his arms, the blankets covering his little frame.
Momma.
Your jaw clenched tightly, and the blackness in your eyes intensify at the thought of Wanda doing something so dirty to you. Whatever the fuck was happening you were going to find out, the last thing you remembered was fighting with Wanda…With Scarlett and then…
“I’m so going to hurt someone after this.” With a final glance at the hall you lifted your right hand and the shadows engulfed you completely.

Earth 199999 –
You blinked away your confusion.
For a brief moment, you thought you should be in another place…your mind created the sounds of voices that were familiar yet so unknown that you actually thought going to the doctor was not such a bad idea.
“Honey don’t forget to go to the supermarket and bring the ingredients for the cake contest, please. I don’t want to lose to Wanda again!”
The voice of another woman reached out to you, for a brief moment your head hurt greatly. Your hand went directly to your forehead, blinking away your confusion until a warm hand wrapped around your wrist and concern dark eyes watched you with utter care.
“Are you alright? Did you take your medicine?” She tilted her head helping you sit down while putting your face up.
“I…I…yeah, yes I am.” You stuttered not sure as to why you were doubting so much.
“Oh, baby, I think you better take your medicine and then breakfast is waiting for you.” The woman offered a warm smile, but for some reason your mind thought this was wrong. So wrong.
You sat there highly confused, trying to pick up the line of thoughts your were trying to pierce together before coming to the bathroom. Then a hand appeared right in front of your face, a single white pill on the hand and a smile and glass of water coming with it.
“Thank you.” You mumbled glancing at the pill, before taking the glass of water.
“You really look out of it, baby. I think we should stop tiring one another during the night.” The woman commented winking at you with a mischievous smile.
You felt your cheeks burnt at the comment, glancing at the pill you took it without even thinking about it already too embarrassed at not being able to concentrate.
“I’m sorry, love, I think I am tired and hungry,” you replied trying to compensate for your behaviour, “I’ll grab something to it and then all the way to the supermarket and work.”
“Good, that’s all I need, baby.” The dark-haired woman leaned in to place a single kiss on your forehead before standing back.
“Finish dressing and I see you downstairs.”
It didn’t take you too long to get dress and ready to leave, for a brief moment you forget your confusion and the voices in your head and went right ahead with your day. By the time breakfast was over, it was as if you went back to a routine you had been in all your life. You kissed your wife good-bye and went to the front lane for the car.
Hey, Mrs. Y/L/N! How’s your morning going?” The voice of the young woman called your attention, furrowing your brows you turned to her watching the smiling face of America Chavez who was ready to go to school.
“Hey, America, so far so good. How about you? How’s your mom?” The questions rolled out of your lips, tasting strangely on your lips. You played with them in your mouth, your hand trembling until the presence of your wife brought the easiness only she could provide.
“Honey, your forgot your lunch.” She said giggling while handling your lunch. “I know you didn’t do on purpose so I got all the way over to the office to be naughty together.”
You blushed chuckling nervously, your mouth opened when all of a sudden a familiar voice reached out your ears.
“Hey, Agatha! Thank god, I see you I need a favour!”
“Wanda dear, tell me what I can do for you.” Agatha greeted the young woman with a smile, the both of them started talking while you stood there waiting to do something, the lunch in your hand heavy by the moment.
Your eyes drifted slowly to Wanda, your neighbour…America’s mom.
You furrowed your brows, why couldn’t you remember that before? Why you didn’t remember your wife’s name was Agatha? Perhaps you should have taken your medication as soon as you woke up, this confusion wasn’t that normal.
“Mrs. Y/L/N, are you alright?” America placed a hand on your arm, tilting her head with a concern stare on you.
“I am yes, I just…” You blinked away your confusion before smiling at America, “need a ride to school kid?”
Wanda turned to you, her smile bright and full of life while Agatha came right at you planting a needy kiss on your lips.
“You are such an amazing wife, honey.” Agatha said caressing your face, you smiled nodding while waving at Wanda while helping America into the car.
“Thank you, Y/N, I know you don’t have to…” Wanda started but you merely smile shrugging.
“No problem, Wanda. Love I will see you later.” You turned to Agatha kissing her once more before going to the car and leaving with America on the passenger’s seat.
Agatha waited until she was completely sure you and the kid were out of sight, Wanda was standing immobile on the same spot she had said good-bye to you. The old woman smirked, her eyes gleaming a shade of purple and red while her hands created ropes of magic she tied tightly around Wanda.
“Now, Wanda dear, let’s continue working on your powers while I tried to keep your counterpart in her little jail. It wouldn’t do any good if you were to try something rash and foolish, right?” Agatha whispered making Wanda shiver, the young woman pressed her lips together, her heart breaking knowing she could do nothing for the time being.
Agatha could see and sense the resistance from the redhead’s part, the smirk in the woman’s face grew leaning in to whisper in Wanda’s ear.
“Don’t worry dear, tonight when she is under me writhing in pleasure I will make sure to tape her for you.” Then Agatha tilted her head in a thoughtful manner. “Unless you want to see her when she is fucking me into oblivion…anyway dear, I will make sure to send you a copy. Now, let’s go.”
______________________________________________________________
Earth 616 –
Your scaped plan was almost perfect.
You were in a hospital, that much you knew. You also knew whatever had happened was Wanda’s fault, or probably it was Scarlet’s one; it didn’t matter though, whoever was responsible would soon find out why you had become a dangerous rival to anyone that crossed your path. How dared them to use the children she had with Vision in Westview? How dared she to bring those painful memories into this fantasy world? Whatever made her think she could just go right ahead and kissed you again?
The terrace on the hospital was ample, with two helipads and a couple of high-tech protection to prevent any accidents or undesirable situations. The first thing you noticed, though was that you no longer were in Norway and the second thing was that you were in a strangers land.
The Avenger’s tower could be seen from the terrace, and in there you would also see another building you had never seen before. Blinking away you had to wonder if perhaps Wanda had, once more, broken the natural rules and create another world.
“I didn’t.” You turned around moving fast enough to shock the other woman, the shadows spreading out to try and stopped her but she was faster than you, and her red mist trapped your midsection lifting you slightly.
Wanda Maximoff furrowed her brows, her hold on you was firm but without any intension to harm you. You, on the other hand, were ready to attack her without a second thought. She could feel the cold embrace of your shadows spreading around her legs and torso; there was anger in your mind, and what memories she had seen inside your mind while unconscious were enough to tell Wanda you and her, the Wanda of another universe, had never been married.
“Let me go, Wanda. I’m fucking tired of this, and your games, and whatever games you and Scarlet are playing around.” You let your body relaxed into the magic hold, but your eyes never change colour. Tilting your head, you tried to guess the real intentions of the woman standing before you but so far the only thing you could see was Wanda.
“You haven’t noticed it, have you Y/N?” Wanda inquired lowering you to the ground and letting go of you, for the first time you realized the woman in front of you didn’t look as tired as you remember. The sadness in her eyes was also accompanied by tenderness and love, emotions that you felt in your soul whenever she locked eyes with you.
“Noticed what, Wanda?” You sighed tiredly lifting your hands until you were quite satisfied with the darkness covering the woman in front of you. “What have you done?”
The sound of traffic reached out the terrace of the hospital, the wind in this part of the building was cold and strong lapping at the clothes and hair of the two women standing in a silent encounter while the rest of the city continued with their life. Your body was starting to ache, a subtle way of complaining about all the stress you had put it in during the last couple of hours; you tried to ignore these signs, your main concern was to try and find America and make sense of what was happening.
“I am not who you think I am.” Wanda finally said softening her features, “and you certainly are not the woman I’m in love with. Though you look so much like her when we were younger and stupid.”
You furrowed your brows, stepping closer to the redhead.
“What are you talking about?”
“Y/N, what do you know about the multiverse?” The question caught you by surprised, you jerked backwards for a moment pursing your lips.
“Are you playing with me?” You asked clenching your hand close, Wanda gasped her magic igniting to soften the hold you had on her. “What the hell is going on?!”
“You’re not in your world, Y/N.” She finally said, and her words reached out your confused mind mixing up with disbelief. “Whatever happened, whatever…is going on…you are in a different universe while my Y/N was taken from me when she was the most vulnerable.”
“What?” You blinked away your confusion, Wanda shrugged trying to smile but failing.
“This is not a trick, and this is not me creating a different reality, Y/N. This is just another universe, one that America Chavez has already visited, the one she left with after Strange died and Y/N was deathly wounded.”
Dizziness overcame to you, you lowered your gaze stepping back and letting your powers down while Wanda freed herself from your hold. You stepped back and soon a pair of hands wrapped around your forearms holding you tightly. You tensed ready to fight when your eyes fell in the other individuals that soon showed up on the rooftop; it wasn’t until then that you realized this encounter was a chance they gave Wanda of holding you back without violence.
“Natasha?” You whispered, and the Black Widow came in with her expressionless mask on. Behind you stood Steve, older and alive.
“What…” You started talking but soon trailed off locking eyes with Wanda. “What…Where am I then? How…I…”
“Yep, pretty much the same questions we have been asking ourselves, kid.” Tony Stark came in with his eyes fixed on a gadget he had on his hand, he offered a short smile before turning to Wanda.
“Your place or mine?”
Wanda turned to you, her eyes downcast before she answered.
“Mine, the twins are not aware of this and I don’t… I mean…”
You could see her indecision, the way she shifted her weight from one foot to the other while trying to not look at you. The rest of the group got ready, every single one of them ignoring you and quite frankly, incapable of looking at you. They kept on talking about the multiverse, about the danger and the possibilities as you were dragged inside a Quinjet.
You did not see much of the people surrounding you, of the people you had seen dead and had seen disappeared into nothing.
The city spread out before you, buildings and symbols you did not recognize.
Muffled conversation filled your senses, your eyes fixated on the hands and then golden ring on your ring finger. You furrowed your brows, an old sharp pain running through your body and mind, piercing your very heart and soul.
Mom!
You’re mine!
Say my name…
Scarlet…
Wanda…
The growing headache you had been experiencing since waking up was almost blinding you, you straightened up in the seat your eyes running around the cabin before your thoughts went back to the people you knew. The people you loved. If what Wanda said was true then…what happened to your world? What happened to America, Natasha, Yelena? What happened to your Wanda? To Scarlet? What was really happening to you?
*****
Tony Stark and Hank Pym took it upon themselves to give you the explanation.
The story went back to a couple of months ago, something strange had been happening in different spots around the world. At first, Strange and Kamar-Taj were merely looking into the anomalies with the help of Stark’s Industries and someone called Charles. The anomalies appeared to be out of this world, so they tried to get into contact with Carol and Star-Lord, they were also on the case but with no concrete answers the team merely kept watch over these anomalies fighting over the strange creatures when necessary.
Then, America Chavez came into the game.
She was lost, hurt, and scared.
Stephen had tried to help but he scared the kid, so Wanda had to intervene and they hit it off right away. Y/N and Wanda had welcomed America into their home while the kid narrated what had happened to her, the chase of those strange creatures and her ability to travel through the multiverse; she was the perfect guinea pig for Tony, Hank, and Stephen, and she ended up being a surrogate daughter to Wanda and Y/N.
The answer to the black magic following America had been the book of Vishanti, and while Stephen looked for it well…America was finally finding a place to call home.
You listened to the story with your head dancing around your own memories of the teenager, of the sudden appearance of Wanda and America at your doorstep. You thought of America’s familiarity with Wanda and her affection for you. This world…they kept on talking about their world, their reality while you just saw a reflection of a life you yearned to have.
The pictures of the twins, of Wanda and the you of that universe smiling at a camera. Missions on Earth and outside Earth. The friends you thought dead, and those you barely recognized; the happiness in your face wearing a black suit with Wanda waring a white dress.
They said time cures everything…
But feeling your heart breaking at the sight of such happiness that could be yours…You realized time had not cure for the love and regret you felt inside your soul. Your heart would always beat for Wanda, and your soul would always be bitter while thinking about the What ifs.
“Then you and Strange tried to help her get the book of Vishanti but…something happened, Strange died, you almost got killed and America disappeared.” Tony finished the story ruffling his hair. “We know someone attacked the lot of you, the same kind of magic readings were all over the place and all over you…then yesterday…”
“Billy sensed it.” Wanda whispered looking over at Tony, her arms around herself. “And then, you woke up but…”
“But I’m not your Y/N which means the me of this universe could be on my body?” You inquired rubbing your template, Tony and Hank both shrugged.
“It is a possibility, in all honestly we are hoping that’s the case.” Hank put his glasses off, cleaning them up before sitting down. “If that it is the case then you traveling to our universe could only mean that whoever is casting these spells has their hands on the Darkhold and has been dream walking for quite some time.”
“You mentioned Scarlet Wicht as if it was a different entity, is different for you guys?” Steve asked all of a sudden, he uncrossed his arms setting his eyes on you.
You furrowed your brows tilting your head, “she…I mean…it’s actually pretty weird but…yeah, she looks like Wanda but I can tell you they are not the same.”
Steve let his eyes wandered all the way back to Wanda then to you, he pursed his lips nodding curtly. The room went quiet for a moment, it was pretty obvious you were a prisoner to them, as well as a guest, and whatever they had discovered so far had not been revealed completely.
You shifted on the sofa, your mouth opening when a couple of footsteps came down the stairs and launched themselves at you.
“MOM!” The twins wrapped their arms around you, everyone tensed leaning forward watching the interaction with warning in their eyes.
Wanda uncrossed her arms taking a step forward, her eyes never leaving your form just as you sat there completely tensed and unsure of how to proceed. These kids, the last time you saw them in your world they were not yours.
Your lips quivered, the pain behind those memories mixed up with the craziness that had been your day so far was starting to tire you out. Wanda shook her head, ready to take the twins away from you. You could see she was distressed, the unshed tears in her eyes were enough to tell you everyone was suffering one way or another, and while your heart couldn’t reconcile with Wanda, at least you could be kind to this version of her. To the version that apparently, made you happy.
“Hey kids!” You greeted weakly, both of them crunched up their noses looking at you with big curious eyes, you ruffled their heads winking with a smile on your lips. “I thought you guys were in bed.”
Billy bit his lower lip, and Tommy shrugged looking away.
“We couldn’t sleep.” Billy finally mumbled, he returned to your arms snuggling closer. “We missed you.”
“You promise us a story.” Tommy continued looking at you with big hopeful eyes. “But you were not here.”
“Tommy, mom is tired and she just came out of the hospital…” Wanda started trying to get the twins away from you.
“If you want, I can tell you a story, Morgan says I have improved a lot.” Tony chimed in trying to save the situation.
“Nu-uh!” Tommy stomped his foot stubbornly on the floor, his eyes looking over at you and your heart stopped at the sight of such a familiar expression. Your expression, on him. “Mom, you promised!!”
“Momma doesn’t break her promises.” Billy commented nodding.
This declaration broke your heart, you couldn’t help but think of the things you missed of the family you could have. Your eyes went to the twins, both of them looking at you expectantly while you ignored the rest of the room. Everyone was waiting for you to do something, but you were not sure it was the right thing to do, they were not your children, this was not your live and this was not your world.
The tension was quite palpable around the room, all eyes on you and the twins.
Through the shadows, you could feel Wanda getting restless ready to protect her children from the cruel reality. Your eyes drifted to one of the pictures in the fireplace, the babies in your arms and the huge grin adorning your face were everything you wanted with Wanda. And in this world, in this reality, you got it.
“Only one story.” You mumbled jerking back when the both of them jumped uo and down excitedly.
“Yay!!”
“Can we choose?”
“I want zombies!”
“And guns!”
“And auntie Nebula!”
You chuckled imagine the face Nebula would put at being called auntie, before your brain registered the real meaning of that request. How many things were different in this reality?
“Very well, boys then, last one to bed is a rotten egg!” You exclaimed which was a mistake apparently as Tommy took of at a great speed and Billy shone blue before disappearing.
Wanda chuckled at your dumbfounded expression, shaking her head she winced when she heard the crash and the fighting happening in the twins room.
“Always give them the warning of no powers.” Her tone of voice was soft, and her eyes were on you. There was something she wanted to say, but she put her arms around herself before stepping back. “You can…you can go to them, if you want.”
There was a moment of hesitation before you went upstairs, the sound of laughter making your heart swelled while your mind tried to process all that was happening.
Wanda watched you disappeared, and as soon as she saw you gone her tears rolled down her cheeks. Pietro placed a hand on her shoulder, putting her to him while shooting a quick glance at the rest of the room. Everyone was quiet, the concern in their eyes was quite evident, even after the long explanation by Tony and Hank there was nothing much they could do. Stephen Strange had been the pioneer of multiverse traveling, but what they were facing at the moment was something they never thought possible. Mind transferring was another thing altogether, and the fact that they still had no clue as to who was behind all of it made it more difficult.
“I need to get my hands on that book.” Wanda finally mumbled, her brows knitting together at the prospect of getting her hands into such a dark magic.
“It could be dangerous, you heard Strange and Clea.” Steve lowered his gaze pursing his lips. “I couldn’t allow you to put yourself in such a danger, Wands.”
“It is not up to you, Steve.” Wanda stepped back from Pietro passing a hand through her hair. “My wife is in another place, in another’s head…I can’t…I need to have her back.”
“I understand that.” Steve shifted rolling his eyes while glancing to the ceiling, Tony chuckled putting his mobile out and handing it to the soldier with an amused smile. “If that’s the case then, you need help…”
Wanda turned around, she noticed the amusing expression on Tony and the highly irritated one on Steve’s face. She frowned for a moment until realization hit her, her lips quirked upwards just as Steve sought for the right phone number.
“I mean, I can certainly use his help but…are you sure you want to talk to him?” For the first time since everything started, Wanda felt confident with their course of action and her powers and possibilities of getting Y/N back.
Steve winced shrugging, “he is the best at this…”
“You don’t have to sound so pained, Rogers.” Tony chuckled watching as Steve scowled at the phone. “Go on, I bet Loki would be happy to assist you.”
*****
You stood by the door of their room.
They had a combination of dinosaurs and fantasy theme room; they fell asleep almost as soon as you started the story, happy to hear you tell them some sort of ridiculous adventure while participating in the storytelling. In all that time, you couldn’t help the burning pain inside your soul, the yearning in your heart as the twins fell sleep in your arms.
“I’m sorry.” Your whole body tensed when you registered her voice behind your back, you didn’t turn but stood there trying to collect your thoughts.
Wanda didn’t move, everyone but Pietro had gone home for the night. Whatever had happened, whatever they had planned you had just let it be for the time being.
“I know…”
“You were in my head.” You mumbled clenching your teeth. “But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, that’s what you do, right? Did you play with my other self in this world, too? Perhaps fuck around my mind to have me by your side?”
In less than a second you were seeing red eyes burning with anger and sadness in there, her magic was just as powerful and warm as you remembered it. But just as she got a hold on you, your powers were back into your control, the shadows covering her body and neck while the both of you stood right outside the twins room.
“She looks at me differently.” Wanda all but whispered, her hand leaving a feather-like caress on your cheek with her eyes gleaming a familiar crimson that send a shiver down your back. “You look at me with so much anger and sadness…I thought…I thought I have lost her again, I have never ever looked inside her mind, not even once.”
The tension around the both of you didn’t diminish, if anything it seemed to increase but you never back down merely give up. Wanda shot you a sympathetic stare, and that hurt more than you could ever admit to the other woman.
“It was not my intension to look into your mind, Y/N, but after America and what happened I had to make sure you were not a threat.” Wanda let go of you dropping her arms to her side glancing at you with a well-known stare that has your very soul trembling.
“Well, whatever you saw then…” You stated shrugging, your shadows coming back to you stirring at your back. “I hope you understand.”
Wanda looked away from you, her brows knitting together for a brief moment before she spoke again.
“She wasn’t the only one making mistakes, but I guess I didn’t have to pay so dearly for mine.” Wanda turned around walking towards the stary, you felt suddenly dizzy watching her walk away from you until she stopped at the stairs. “Are you coming? I think you and I need to have a private conversation, and something to drink.”
You hesitated for a moment before nodding, “I think we do.”

Earth 199999 –
You blinked away in confusion.
For a brief moment, you thought you should be in another place…in your mind you could hear the sound of familiar voices calling out to you. The person in front of the mirror blinked a couple of times, the hand grabbing a glass of water while the morning sun sneaked through the windows of the room. The bed was unmade, empty and disorganized and you furrowed your brows.
What did you do last night? What was with the glass of water? You lowered your gaze trying to remember what was happening, what you were supposed to be doing…A sharp blinding pain went through your head, all the way down to your chest, you gasped your hand clenching tightly around the glass of water.
Momma!
Love? Baby…please…
“Honey don’t forget to go to the supermarket and bring the ingredients for the cake contest, please. I don’t want to lose to Wanda again!”
The voice of a woman inside the room reached out to you breaking the sudden spell you were in, you turned around rather quickly the glass of water escaping your hands and falling to the floor with a crash and splash of water. You knelt down, your eyes noticing the long legs of a woman dressed in a purple dress, with her dark-brown hair falling on her back and a condescending smile on her face. She knelt down, her hand cupping your cheek while she rolled her eyes playfully.
“you haven’t taken your medicine yet, have you dear?” She asked, and her voice was all of a sudden familiar, a sheepish smile appeared on your face shaking lightly.
“No, I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologise, that’s what I’m here for.” The woman leaned in, her lips wrapped around yours and while you had a need to return the kiss you couldn’t help but feel as if this was just wrong.
You two parted apart, the woman helped you picked up the broken glass while standing up and moving to the garbage in the bathroom. She washed her hands, going to the counter and putting an orange bottle that she handled to you.
“Here, love, take your morning pill.” You glanced at that smile, and the kindness behind her gestures taking the bottle and putting one white pill out.
“Thank you.”
“Don’t mention it, baby. Now, breakfast is ready, and I really need you to remember to go for those ingredients in the supermarket after classes, okay?”
“Yeah, yeah sure…” You put the pill in your mouth swallowing and offering a smile and a quick peck on the lips to the woman.
Time was a funny construct in your mind.
For some reason you didn’t notice when you got dress and ready to leave the house. You had a bag on your hand, dressed up in a light suit to match the sunny weather outside you gave a peck on the woman’s lips and left the house.
The neighbour was empty.
Not a single car or person around, you sighed watching your watch marking the time. 7a.m. Too early for some, yet to late for you. You shrugged ready to go into the car when your eyes got sight of two figures approaching from the house next door. The first one was a young woman not older than 15 years old, her brown hair falling to her shoulders, with a huge grin on her face and a backpack on her back while waved at you strolling down the path walking ahead of the slightly older woman following close behind.
Your breath caught in your throat, the woman had maroon hair with white skin and a timid smile. She wore a light dress, and you couldn’t help but admired her figure. Her smile. The intensity behind her stare.
“Hey, Mrs. Y/L/N! How’s your morning going?” The teen greeted you as she finally approached your car, for a moment your eyes fixed on her and while there was obvious confusion in your stare the name came to you as easily as the morning light.
“Hey, America, I’m good, ready to go to school?” You questioned with an ample smile, your hand lifted waving away to the woman behind America before you settled your eyes on America. “How is your mom doing? I heard she and my wife have a cake competition today.”
America stopped death on her tracks, her smile almost dropping until the sound of a door opening and closing called both of your attention. You turned to see Agatha coming to you with a small bag on her hand.
“Honey, your forgot your lunch.” She said giggling while handling your lunch. “I know you didn’t do on purpose so I got all the way over to the office to be naughty together.”
Her comment made you blushed and laughed nervously, you scratched the back of your head grabbing the bag from her. The woman let her eyes wandered to America then to Wanda before she leaned in stealing a heated kiss from you. You never noticed the crimson in Wanda’s eyes, or the purple one on Agatha’s you merely stepped back smiling while nodding to America.
“Ready for school?” Then as an afterthought you lifted your head locking eyes with Wanda. “Hey, Wands, long time no see! I promise to go straight to school and not buy a latte and a coffee like we did last time!”
America giggled going into the car, Wanda stood there for a moment merely nodding and giving you a terse smile.
“Right, drive carefully.”
You waved away her concerns while also going into the car and driving away never looking back while you and America engaged in a light conversation about school and live. The world flickered for a moment, purple covering the sky, following your car without you noticing one bit. America pressed her lips together, clenching her fist as she saw the white mist covering your eyesight just as you continued talking as if nothing was happening right outside. Wanda told America they needed time, but America was starting to get restless, and the guilt was, once more, eating her up.
She wouldn’t be patient any longer.
Back in the house you had left behind Wanda stood struggling against the purple mist covering her hands and neck, Agatha turned to her slapping her hard in the face. Taking a deep breath the woman hit Wanda again, and again.
“You are unbelievable,” she said walking in circles around Wanda, she was fuming while trying to get a hold of the reality around her, “I can’t believe…”
“What is it, Agatha? Having difficulties handling a world on your own?” Wanda mocked her, even with the magical ropes around her body she couldn’t help but mock at the woman that had uncovered herself and her plan far too earlier.
“You…” Agatha was about to hit her, but stopped, her face breaking into s sickly smile. “Oh, dear, you and that crazy alter ego of yours will break and I will get what is mine…”
“You won’t, Agatha.” Wanda gasped when Agatha tightened her hold on her neck, the older woman tilted her head clenching her jaw closed. “They will come…her friends…”
“And her lover, dear. Let’s not forget that freaking Captain Marvel is also snooping around…” Agatha chuckled when Wanda looked away at this, the older woman felt another set of rage raging right through her system.
Scarlet was not happy either.
“Don’t worry, you two, soon you won’t be here any longer to see her be my perfect tool…the perfect puppet…”
“Get your hands away from her!” Wanda and Scarlet exclaimed at the same time, the world around them trembled almost crumbling until Agatha placed her hands on Wanda’s templated.
“Nu-uh, dear, be careful or else…it would be her and not you the one dying over…”
Wanda screamed at the pain she felt on her head, right inside her mind in a cell made of red and purple, Scarlet screamed with the same intensity and their power diminished while Agatha let out a groan of pleasure, red feeing up her fingertips.
The world around them flickering lightly before going back to normal.

Norway
Carol was about to hit the bubble of energy once more until the hand of Monica closed around her wrist shaking her head with a disbelief look in her eyes.
“I’m pretty sure that if that didn’t work the first thousand times you did it, is not going to work now.” Monica watched as the blond-haired woman sighed in frustration stepping back.
The world around them was full of agents belonging to SWORD and SHIELD; the government of Norway had offered their help in the way of officials and closed roads while everyone was trying to get a hold of what was happening inside the city of Ulsteinvik. So far many had theorized about the great bubble around the city, many believed this was a repeat performance on Wanda’s part and some others merely thought this was just another strange, supernatural event trying to break into normality.
Tony Stark leaned back against the chair in his private trailer, Natasha was just as tired as he was but the both of them had been working overtime trying to do some damage control while getting a hold of Strange and Wong. Carol had been trying to get a break into the magical bubble without any success, and Natasha as well as Monica were really tired of trying to stop her from spending her time and strength in that.
“It wasn’t her.” Tony said all of a sudden, Natasha lifted her eyes from the screen in which the same scene was playing over and over again.
“I know.”
Tony massaged the bridge of his nose, “she wouldn’t be repeating the same fucking scene over and over, and over…”
“I know.”
The door of the trailer close hard, Carol slumped on the closest chair while trying to hold back her anger.
“This is all her fault.” She grumbled, her hands burning gold before she held back her powers. “Wanda…”
“It wasn’t Wanda.” Yelena scowled at the blond-haired woman that had just entered the trailer, Carol frowned at this declaration leaning forward.
“I believe that little dome over there and the one she showed a couple of months ago will defer with your words, Yelena.”
“It is not the same one.” This time around it was Natasha, Carol turned her eyes to her hating the sympathetic glance Natasha sent her way and the fluttering inside her heart.
“Why are you on her side?” Carol finally sputtered. “You weren’t very Wanda friendly a couple of months ago.”
Natasha shrugged, her eyes once more on the screen.
“I saw the dome last time; I watched the interactions happening there. This show repeats itself over and over and over, there is no more…space for something different.” Natasha then pointed to the screen, there was Y/N and Agatha kissing. “Besides, if this was Wanda’s doing, she would be the one kissing Y/N not this Agatha.”
“Well, last time Wanda was kissing Vision and even having kids with him.” Carol sighed pressing her lips together. “If I had been just a few seconds earlier…”
“You would be trapped as well, perhaps being married with some old fart or something.” Tony chimed in, his eyes on the phone. “Strange is coming, perhaps, once he is in here we can think of a better plan than hitting the dome over and over.”
Carol scoffed nodding, her eyes going to the screen, to your face…to the way you seemed completely out of your league while being control by the woman that still held your heart in her hands. Carol clenched her jaw, wanting nothing more than to be in your arms again.

“Hey, can I help you?” You asked, and the woman rewarded you with the most beautiful smile you could imagine.
It was familiar.
“Oh, detka, I don’t have much time but…” The familiarity in which she used the word, the warm hand cupping your cheek and those eyes…something inside your head break, you almost screamed but her lips were against yours in a moment sealing the kiss in a tender meeting.
“Don’t take the pills…don’t eat her meals…please…” The woman whispered just before everything flickered around you and the searing pain inside your head increased and this time around you couldn’t quiet down your screams.

“Dear, are you going to take your medicine?” Agatha said trying to hide away the edge on her voice.
You opened your eyes nodding, “yeah, yeah, sorry…”
You put the pill in your mouth and swallowed it, smiling at the older woman that leaned in.
“Come down quick, I have breakfast ready.”
“Yeah, I’ll be down in a minute.” Agatha offered a wink before turning around and leaving the room.
You stood there for another minute, your tongue playing around until you spat the white pill on your hand.
That’s it, love…don’t take the pill…don’t let her see…I need you…The voice inside your head hesitated then she spoke once more, with some difficulty as if her next words took a lot of effort on her part. We both need you to get out of her, please…
You glanced at your reflection, there was a flickering of red and white and for a brief moment you saw the redhead of your dreams. What the hell was happening? You furrowed your brows, your eyes on the white pill in your hand before your eyes found crimson ones in the mirror.
Looking down on you, the clothes for that day were already on, and in your hand was your everyday bag. Tilting your head in confusion you went downstairs, ready to start another day.

So I haven’t been keep up with the war as much as I’d like to but recently I’ve heard that the IDF is moving out to combat Hezbollah even though rockets are still being launched into Israel and the hostages haven’t been returned. Is there some bigger play here or is the IDF retreating? Or do you just think this is a dumb military strategy?
The IDF is removing several battalions from Gaza because they're not needed there anymore. Most of gaza has been cleared already and their presence there makes no sense both from a security and a financial standpoint. There is going to be a war with hezbollah whether we like it or not because hezbollah has displaced around 160k israelis from the north by incessantly shelling cities and towns since the beginning of this war. These 160k ppl need to be returned home, they can't stay refugees forever, thus a maneuver against hazbollah is both necessary and imminent since diplomacy has failed (hezbollah signed UN resolution 1701 promising to stay away from the border post the 2006 war, and they broke said promise literally 2 minutes after they signed the damn agreement).
The rockets currently being fired from Gaza are fired from Khan Younis, which is where the IDF is still working. The frequency of rockets has dropped significantly, from heavy shelling every single day (in the beginning of the war) to a small barrage once a month, which says a lot about what has been done to Hamas' infrastructure.
The war with hezbollah is going to be extremely difficult from a defense standpoint because hezbollah possess a far greater rocket AND missile arsenal than hamas, including guided missiles. The damage to us civilians is going to be catastrophic, which is why the IDF is preparing way in advance and the govt is foolishly looking for diplomatic solutions where there are none. Regardless, hezbollah lost iirc over 500 fighters since October so I do wonder what's their plan long term.

The fish wives are fine! Either that ending did not happen or it was all a planned thing for everyone to get stuck in THEIR nets. Whatever. Those are the only 2 options.
Still in all seriousness it was a planned thing between Moiraine and Siuan IMO for too many reasons. The delusion is real
Oh I have no doubt they'll be alright, nonny! Rafe Judkins is smart enough to know that if he was going to canonize Siuanraine, we wouldn't accept its mishandling. We're gonna be fine.
Personally though I do think that conflict was real, not planned. Of course, I do love the idea of them orchestrating a fake falling out! But it just doesn't peg me as something that wins them anything.
I think Siuan is so used to her and Moiraine being in agreement about how to handle the Dragon prophecies that she truly didn't expect for Moiraine to go rogue. The way I see it, Siuan sees two things: for one, Mo has been stilled. That is agony no matter how you slice it, and she's deadset on taking as much of the Dragon burden off of Moiraine's shoulders as she can so Mo has more of a chance to heal (remember, there's been a whopping two Aes Sedai who ever managed not to kill themselves after being stilled in the Tower's known history).
Secondly, she sees that the time of the Last Battle draws near, and Moiraine has been withholding information for the past six months and also very pointedly not tried to prepare Rand at all. Siuan is the Amyrlin Seat. She's made of strategy, and that is a bad one, whether it was her lover's choice or not. I think Siuan was certain that if she made a point of taking the burden off Moiraine's shoulders, she'd be met with acquiescence---perhaps even appreciation.
Watching the episode, I took Siuan's reaction to Rand having been released to be one of complete shock. I'm sure she expected stubbornness, but not outright double-crossing. That's why she made a point of chasing after them alone, with no guard. She felt betrayed.
Then she runs in to see Moiraine channeling. I'm sure she was floored, and this is why I think the theory that she suspected Moiraine of joining the Dark to hold weight. I mean, how bizarre from her perspective. Six months of correspondence, and Rand hasn't been trained even a little, and this alleged stilling was kept from her completely until Lan tattle-taled. That's outrageous, especially since it doesn't seem like Moiraine has ever been that dishonest with her before. And now it was apparently a complete lie? It shouldn't be possible. Unless of course Moiraine made an oath that supersedes her previous ones...
Which is why she forced her to close the Waygate. Twas a test. Once Moiraine obeys, you can see just how much Siuan regretted doing it. Her eyes well up immediately, like all she wants to do is apologize. Had Lanfear not walked in that very second, I'm sure she would have.
So, we'll just have to see how Siuan feels once she hears about the events of Falme, that Ishamael is dead, and that Alanna and Verin were Mo's accomplices. Hopefully she reacts well, or at least well enough to still want to talk it out with Moiraine when she gets the chance---and I think she will. This has been the burden that's ruined their lives for 20 years. She's not just gonna let that go.
So yeah, we'll be okay. We're just gonna need some medicine, perhaps an emergency operation. 😭

Hey, I hope it's okay if i ask for some advice !!
I've been experiencing an intense autistic burnout and haven't gone to school for 1 ½ months. It would take too long to explain, but I HAVE to go to school next week..I haven't been outside until today (with two friends for two hours to prepare myself mentally for school) and even little social interactions exhaust me terribly. Moreover, I am terrified to go to school and I am afraid that it will cause yet another burnout (which is inevitable while I am at school, but I don't want it to happen as soon). School exhausts me because of social interactions, masking, sensory issues etc..Do you have any tips/strategies on how to make my start into school less terrifying for me? My teachers don't know about my autism (except one) who's class I will attend on monday (I told them via chat a day ago, but we haven't talked about it personally yet). I am supposed to give my teachers the diagnosis in the next 1-2 weeks.
Thank you so much !!

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here’s a quick post on what you should focus on this Capricorn season according to your Rising sign.
🌟 Aries Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 10th house. The focus is on your public achievements. Now is the time to work hard and prioritize your career goals. At work, you may be given opportunities to impress your employer and other superiors. Take advantage of those.
🌟 Taurus Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 9th house. It is now time to organize your next vacation or create a study timetable for an academic discipline you are presently studying.
🌟 Gemini Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 8th house. You may be aware of something approaching that you will find difficult to manage. Prepare for this scenario. Make a strategy.
🌟 Cancer Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 7th house. The focus in on your close relationships and partnerships. If you are single, think and be strategic about what sort of companion you want and where you may find them. Spend more time and focus on your partner if you are in a relationship. Maybe you have a dream that you share or you plan on getting married. Now is the ideal moment to start talking about it and organizing.
🌟 Leo Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 6th house. The focus is on working hard at your job and having your personal life in order. Make a to-do list and do the crucial things you've been putting off.
🌟 Virgo Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 5th house. Now is an excellent time to devote attention to a pastime. Whatever you enjoy doing for yourself is the focal point of this transit for you. Perhaps you have always wanted to visit a restaurant but it is too pricey or requires too much effort somehow (maybe it is 2 hours away?). This month, do it.
🌟 Libra Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 4th house. The focus is on your home, the past, and your relationship with your family. A home makeover may necessitate a significant investment of time and work. Now is the ideal moment to start working on it. You may have also planned to do something with your family but never found the right moment. This Capricorn season is ideal for it.
🌟 Scorpio Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 3rd house. Something in your surroundings may necessitate your time and effort. Perhaps your brother is relocating and wants your assistance in looking at listings. Perhaps something is going on in your community that requires your attention. Whatever it is, your organizational abilities and patience will come in handy.
🌟 Sagittarius Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 2nd house. The focus is on your resources. Now is the time to take a close look at your earnings and net worth. Are you on track to meet your financial objectives? Examine your savings and organize them.
🌟 Capricorn Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 1st house. The focus is on your appearance and behaviors. This is the moment to revamp your look. If necessary, visit an esthetician. Get your hair cut in a salon. Invest time and effort in your appearance this season.
🌟 Aquarius Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 12th house. The focus is on what’s plaguing your mind. You may be experiencing anxiety as a result of your career. Perhaps you've been reflecting on where you imagined you'd be by now and where you are today. The best use of this energy is to get these thoughts out in the open. Make an appointment with a therapist. Take this energy seriously and don't allow it linger in your head. If you are able, begin preparing with the assistance of someone to see how you can achieve your objectives.
🌟 Pisces Rising: The Sun in Capricorn is transiting your 11th house. The focus is on the groups of friends you belong with. Perhaps you've neglected your friends lately and haven't spent enough time with them. Now is the time to host a dinner party for everyone and reconnect with them. Make them a priority this Capricorn season. If you have objectives on social media, now is the time to work extra hard on them.

Pro Tips from a NaNo Coach: Writing with Chronic Injuries
Tumblr media
NaNoWriMo can seem like a daunting task sometimes, for NaNo newbies and veterans alike. Fortunately, our NaNo Coaches are here to help guide you through November! Today, author Mimi Matthews is here to share her advice on how to set yourself up for noveling success:
Dear Fellow Writers,
In an ideal world, we’d all be starting our manuscripts this November, bright-eyed and clear-headed, limited by nothing but time and the scope of our imaginations. In reality, many of us—myself included—are dealing with physical or mental health issues that impact our productivity. That doesn’t mean we can’t write a novel in a month. It just means we have to prepare a little differently.
I’ve written all of my books while struggling with pain from a cervical spine injury. There’s no secret to it, only a little self-knowledge. Pain is a part of my life I have to manage along with all the rest of my responsibilities. It can be discouraging at times, but it’s never once prevented me from completing a manuscript. With that in mind, here are a few of my personal strategies for starting (and finishing!) a novel.
1. Be prepared.
Before you begin your manuscript, arm yourself with all the implements you’ll need to support pain-free writing. For me, this means a huge collection of neck pillows, ice packs, and a never-ending supply of Aleve. The more supportive I can be of my neck injury, the better success I have in my work.
2. Be flexible.
Get rid of your preconceived ideas about when and where you should write. Instead, write when you can and where you can, in whatever way best supports your health. A story is no less compelling because you wrote it while propped up in bed at 2am instead of sitting at your desk at eight in the morning.
3. Listen to your body.
If writing is hurting you, then stop for a while. Don’t give in to the panic about failing to meet your writing goals. Yes, it’s scary to fall behind, but there’s really no such thing as powering through to reach a daily word count when you’re in pain. You might be able to do it once or twice, but the work always suffers.
4. Write less to write more.
It seems nonsensical, I know, but I’ve found that stopping work for the day when my neck starts to ache is the best way to ensure that I write more later. If I continue working while in pain, it sometimes takes me days or even weeks to recover from the ensuing flareup. Conversely, if I stop for the day, I almost always write double or triple the words at my next writing session.
5. X marks the spot.
I write historical novels, which necessitates a great deal of research. That can mean a lot of stops and starts as I’m writing. I sometimes lose the rhythm of the scene. Even worse, the stress of changing course so often can trigger my pain. To combat this, I use XX to mark things I need to research later. I also use XX in place of character names, locations, or clothing descriptions I haven’t thought up yet. Doing this allows me to get the bones of the story arranged much faster, without those frustrating (and pain triggering) stops and starts.
There’s no one size fits all way to finish a manuscript, especially if you’re struggling with challenges to your physical and mental health. Be mindful of your needs. Be flexible in your habits. And, above all, be kind to yourself. Writing a novel is a huge undertaking at the best of times. A little preparation—and a generous supply of grace and patience with yourself—will make the experience a lot less painful.
xx Mimi Matthews
USA Today bestselling author Mimi Matthews writes both historical nonfiction and award-winning proper Victorian romances. Her novels have received starred reviews in Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, Booklist, Kirkus, and Shelf Awareness, and her articles have been featured on the Victorian Web, the Journal of Victorian Culture, and in syndication at BUST Magazine. I have two fanfics in my head, both OC's are a child of Daemon by Rhea Royce(this is one character male or female I wish eisted in canon, a child by those two) and I have no idea how to start to write.
#1- Aegon the Elder x OC- she's Aegon's age, perhaps a few months older, conceived during Daemon exile to the Vale post the heir for a day debacle. Daemon is not a present father during her formative years and later on she no longer cares. She dislikes her stepmothers(for a number of reasons). She's not close to her stepsiblings or half-siblings, she does not hate or dislikes them, she just doesn't care to care🤷🏻‍♀️. Her presence changes Aegon (I do believe that love and a gentler touch early in life would have made a difference in his life) Alicent is too afraid in the show to be gentle with her eldest, Aegon was supposed to be strong, to be the shield that keeps them all alive, but obviously tough love did not work. Hormonal Aegon is infatuated with her so he WANTS to be worthy of her. She doesn't just live her life waiting to watch what it is to come, she prepares the stage, she does not underestimate the other faction--her mother's rock divorce always in mind--.
#2-ViserysxOCniece- I hate Viserys just as much as the next person, but just imagined a character that is and does everything that TB stans accuses Alicent of: she was probably one of Aemma's ladies-in-waiting, instead of Jaehaerys and Rhaenyra's handmaid(historically, the easiest way into the King's bed, is through the Queen's bedchambers), a seductress nymph (in the book there's the rumor that they had a affair while Aemma was still alive, so perhaps who knows🤷🏻‍♀️), seducing poor Viserys into giving her a crown and make her his Queen, Viserys reasoning: she is a better/neutral choice, a Targaryen Princess, a woman grown(14/15yrs old)no one can feel slighted, she's older than Laena, renew the Vale/Targaryen alliance, joining his line to his brother's(Viserys just wants to fuck his niece but he must convince himself that he is better than his brother and better than the average men). She actually plots to put her eldest on the IT, she's giving him sons, she's enduring his attentions, she wants her reward. She has affairs with younger, handsomest men than her husband(There are those that accuse Alicent of f*cking Criston🤷🏻‍♀️ and there were theories that Daeron would be their love child and that's way he was sent to Oldtown😔 or saying she's a who're for showing her feet to Larys). She does take power when her husband is too sick, and she actually does keep him alive and bedridden. What a villain she would make. The Cersei in Cersei's head😂.
(one thing that annoys me is the dumbness or lack of thought present during the DoD, like: there is always talking of how dangerous Daemon is, but what was done to prepare? Why aren't the children sent away to safer locations? Why were the TG armies going around like headless chickens? Why were they still stuck in knightly honor and strategy when their enemies were using guerrilla tactics? Why not set fire to the enemy's ships in the middle of the night? Those kind of things just blow my mind, this is like #1 in warfare)
I want more Machiavellian characters.

HERE COMES THE JUDGE "When Judge Tanya Chutkan presides over the new criminal case against Donald Trump, it won’t be her first time tangling with the former president and his lawyers.
In fact, the U.S. district court judge already dealt the ex-president one of the most significant legal blows of his lifetime, triggering perhaps the greatest deluge of evidence about his bid to subvert the 2020 election — a scheme for which he now stands charged with serious crimes.
The Obama-appointed jurist ruled in fall 2021 that the House Jan. 6 select committee could access reams of Trump’s White House files — a ruling that was subsequently upheld by an appeals court and left undisturbed by the Supreme Court. That evidence — call logs, memos, internal strategy papers and more from the desks of Trump’s most trusted advisers — became the backbone of the committee’s evidence and shaped much of the public’s understanding of his effort to seize a second term he didn’t win.
Much of that evidence resurfaced Tuesday in special counsel Jack Smith’s four-count indictment of Trump, which referenced call logs and White House records that were already familiar to Americans who tracked the Jan. 6 committee proceedings. Chutkan was randomly selected Tuesday to preside over Trump’s latest criminal case, his third in the last four months.
“Presidents are not kings, and Plaintiff is not President,” Chutkan wrote in her 2-year-old ruling, a rebuke that is sure to echo as she prepares to preside over the newest criminal case against the current GOP frontrunner for the presidential nomination in 2024.
Chutkan, 61, was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and came to the U.S. for college as a teenager, attending George Washington University and then law school at the University of Pennsylvania. She spent more than a decade as a public defender in Washington, D.C. She later worked for the law firm Boies Schiller & Flexner before being confirmed as a federal trial judge in Washington in 2014.
Chutkan has avoided some of the most pointed criticisms of Trump that some of her colleagues on the federal bench in D.C. have delivered as they’ve sentenced defendants who participated in the Jan. 6 mob that attacked the Capitol as part of Trump’s bid to remain in power. Judge Reggie Walton has called Trump a “charlatan.” Judge Amit Mehta has said Jan. 6 defendants were “pawns” of Trump and his allies. Judge Amy Berman Jackson has chastised Republicans for refusing to level with Trump about the 2020 election.
“It is not patriotism, it is not standing up for America to stand up for one man — who knows full well that he lost — instead of the Constitution he was trying to subvert,” Jackson said at a sentencing last year.
But Chutkan has delivered some of the harshest sentences to Jan. 6 defendants and made her disgust and horror over the attack clear, lamenting the prospect of renewed political violence in 2024 and noting that no one accused of orchestrating the effort to subvert the election had been held accountable.
“You have made a very good point,” she told Jan. 6 rioter Robert Palmer at his December 2021 sentencing, “that the people who exhorted you and encouraged you and rallied you to go and take action and to fight have not been charged.”
“The issue of who has or has not been charged is not before me. I don’t have any influence on that,” she said. “I have my opinions, but they are not relevant.”
But Chutkan also said that reality wasn’t a reason to go easy on those who bought into the election lies and acted upon that belief.
“The people who planned this and funded it and encouraged it haven’t been charged, but that’s not a reason for you to get a lower sentence,” she said. “I have to make it clear that the actions you engaged in cannot happen again. Every day we’re hearing about reports of antidemocratic factions of people plotting violence, the potential threat of violence, in 2024.”
Chutkan has alluded more specifically to Trump in other Jan. 6 sentences, including her first — to misdemeanor defendant Carl Mazzocco, who Chutkan said “went to the Capitol in support of one man, not in support of our country.”
During those early months of the Jan. 6 investigation, Chutkan also staked out territory that some of her colleagues were reluctant to tread: She pointedly rejected the equivalence some defendants were drawing between violence adjacent to Black Lives Matter protests and the riot at the Capitol.
One Trump-appointed judge, Trevor McFadden, had raised sharp questions about whether Jan. 6 defendants were being treated more harshly than people accused of similar conduct during the summertime violence of 2020.
“I think the U.S. attorney would have more credibility if it was even-handed in its concern about riots and mobs in this city,” McFadden said at the time.
Chutkan, while sentencing a defendant in a different case, appeared to allude to her colleague’s remark, before saying she “flatly” disagreed.
“People gathered all over the country last year to protest the violent murder by the police of an unarmed man. Some of those protesters became violent,” Chutkan said of the protests and rioting that followed George Floyd’s death. “But to compare the actions of people protesting, mostly peacefully, for civil rights, to those of a violent mob seeking to overthrow the lawfully elected government is a false equivalency and ignores a very real danger that the January 6 riot posed to the foundation of our democracy.”
