Fog hung in the salty sea air. He had spent countless nights on deck racking his brain for an answer. For months now he had seen her in his dreams, a breathtaking beauty. She had (e/c) eyes and (h/c) hair.

“Did you dream about her again?” A voice pulled him back to reality.

“She’s out there Wanda, I know it.” Wanda was his sister, when pirates had attacked their town and killed their parents it was left up to him to protect her.

“Dreams aren’t real, Piet, come let’s get you back to bed.” She feared for he was going mad, a fate that befell many people in this profession. He followed her back to the crew quarters. He laid back down and ran his fingers through his blonde hair maybe Wanda was right.

You followed behind the ship, careful to stay out of sight. You had seen many pirates in your day but this one was different, he had eyes as blue as the waves you inhabited. His skin freckled from working in the sun from dawn until dusk. You swore to yourself you would meet him one day.

You threw a bouncy-ball, bouncing it off the wall. You couldn’t get Loki out of your mind. The hurt look on his face when you wouldn’t tell him. You needed to talk to him.

“FRIDAY, where is Loki?”

“He’s on the roof”

“Thank you, FRIDAY.”

You climbed up the stairs to the roof and saw Loki staring deep into the night sky, Thor was beside him.

“She’s afraid of me, I know she is. I should have never come here, I should have stayed in Sakar. She’ll never love a monster like me.”

“Brother, you mustn’t lose hope. Give her time and I’m sure she’ll love you for you.”

“Thor, you oaf, she’ll never love me. I’m going back.”

He got up and finally noticed you.

“(Name)” he said, clearly shocked to see you.

“You think I don’t love you?” You placed your hand on his cheek and he leaned into your touch, “I love you, so much and that’s why I was scared. Not of you. Please don’t go..”

“I love you too my dearest (Name)” he leaned in to kiss you.

“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” You looked over to see your ex staring at you and Loki, “this is what you left me for? A murder? I knew you mutants were fucked in the head but I never imagined this!” Spit was flying out as he spoke

“What are you doing here?” Your grip on Loki tightened with fear.

“I love you (Name) and it kills me to see you with a monster like him. Come back with me, we can have a normal life together. I’ve been following you and your so called ‘friends’ for months. You know I’m better for you. They only want to use your powers for selfish reasons.”

“Leave me alone-please. I’ve finally found happiness after you left me on the streets. It’s your fault I was behind that bar in the first place.”

“Don’t be fucking stupid (Name). This is why everyone leaves you. You never gonna get better than me. Let’s go home.”

“I have better and I’m staying here, you need to leave.”

“If I can’t have you, no one can!”

He ran throwing all his weight at Loki causing them both to fall over the edge.

“Loki!” You screamed jumping after him. If there was ever a time for you to be in full control of your powers now would be it.

You caught Loki by his cape and flew him back up to the roof.

You collapsed, out of breath and energy. You woke up in the med bay, Loki by your side.

“You must stop worrying me like that, my love.” He held your hand.

“Are you okay?”

“I’m perfectly fine, your ex on the other hand, not as much.”

“The cops already came and went, their labeling it as a suicide.”

You closed your eyes tight, everywhere you went you left a trail of destruction in your path.

“It’s not your fault, you know you couldn’t have saved us both.”

“I could have tried harder to talk him down.” Just as your feelings began to overwhelm you, you saw Peter at the door, he was carrying a little blue stuffed bear.

“Hey, I know it’s not much but it’s a get well soon bear because I want you to get well soon!” He had a big goofy grin on his face.

The rest of the team came in the room carrying bags of Chinese take out, laughing and messing around.

Sure, the way you stumbled on to this team may not have been the best but you wouldn’t change a thing about your life or your new family.~

You pushed out of the bed and went to find Wanda, she seemed to be the most welcoming. You hummed as you walked around the tower in search of her but couldn’t seem to find her. Suddenly a blue blur knocked you to the ground.

“(Name)! I’m so sorry!” Pietro helped you to your feet.

“It’s fine really, you haven’t seen Wanda have you?”

“Her and Vis are out on a date, do you need something?”

“It’s kinda personal, I would prefer a girls help. Sorry.”

“What do you need?” you turned around to see Nat. Out of all the people you had met she seemed the most intimidating.

“Oh I uh- don’t have any shower stuff.” You didn’t know why she was so intimidating, you had killed hundreds of people but you wouldn’t fuck with her if your life depended on it.

“Come with me.” you reluctantly followed her to her room. She tossed you a thing of rose scented shampoo and lavender body wash.

“I’m not here to hurt you (Name), if you need anything don’t be afraid to ask.” she smiled and patted your back.

The shower felt great against your cold skin, you couldn’t remember the last time you took a nice shower. Hopping from place to place was your way of life ever since Count Fox passed away.

You were sitting on your bed towel drying your hair when you heard a knock on the door.

“Come in.”

“Hey, nice to see your settling in well.” Steve sat down next to you.

“I didn’t have a choice.”

“Look, I know that you’ve never really had a place to call home but you do here. You’re safe you can drop the defensive attitude. It’s gonna take some getting used to but it’ll all work out.” he patted your back and went to leave.

“Steve wait,” he turned around to look at you, “Thank you for helping me.”

He smiled at you, “Dinner starts in a few, I’ll see you there?”

“I’ll be the one in your hoodie.” You winked at him.

“You’ve been here for a day and you’re already stealing my stuff?” he chuckled.

You sat at the dinner table surrounded by the other avengers giving each other shifty looks clearly on edge with your presence but do you blame them? People tend to be uneasy around the dead.

“So, do you eat people food or..?”

“Tony.” Steve said in his ‘dad’ voice

“What we were all thinking it?!”

“No. No I don’t.” You took a sip of the red liquid in the cup in front of you. You watched as the others squirmed in their seats, grossed out by your actions.

“What’s it taste like?”

“Barton. Really?”

“You told us to ask her questions!”

“Yeah about herself to get to know her. Not about what blood taste like.”

“It tastes like if you sucked on a penny.”

Clint stuck his tongue out at Steve and you tried your best to hide your smile.

“Does anyone have any questions unrelated to being a vampire?” Steve looked like a dad who’s dumbass child just got called to the principal’s office for the 9th time this semester.

“Where did you grow up?”

“Boston, Massachusetts.”

“Better question, when did you grow up?” Nat looked across the table at you.

“1820. That’s when I was born. I’ve been like this since I was 12. After that the years start blurring together.”

“So you’re almost 200?!” Peter looks at you with wide-eyed amazement.

“Yeah, I guess.”

“That makes you older than Steve and Bucky.”

“We really have a knack for finding genetically altered senior citizens.” Tony laughed to himself.

Bucky stayed with you all night, his chest to your back, all of this felt like a hazy dream. You had spent the past year without him, without the only thing that made your prison life slightly bearable. You woke up the next morning to Bruce checking your chart and adjusting your medication, years spent in a cold, damp cell had done a number on your immune system.

“Good morning (Name), Bucky will be here shortly to show you to your room. You’re still gonna need to take antibiotics for the next two weeks but there’s no need to keep you under my watch anymore.”

“Hey uh-Bruce, I was wondering if I could shower?”

“Oh, well Bucky’s out on a run with Steve and Sam but if you’re comfortable I’m sure Wanda or Natasha could come help if you’d like.”

“Okay, thank you.”

“FRIDAY, Send Wanda or Natasha to the clinic please.”

“Of course, Dr. Banner.”

After Bruce had disconnected all the monitors and IVs 2 women walked into the room.

“This is Natasha”, Bruce gestured to a woman with short red hair, “and this is Wanda” he addressed the brunette.

“You needed us?” Wanda questioned in a vaguely Europen accent.

“Yes, (Name) wanted to shower and I was wondering if you guys would be willing to help?”

“Of course.” Natasha smiled and helped you out of the bed. You wobbled a little because it had been a while since you actually walked. She supported you until you could walk on your own. They led you to a door on the other side of the clinic, “Get undressed and get in and we’ll go grab you some clothes and shower stuff.”

You slipped the loose fitting hospital gown off and looked at yourself in the mirror. How long had it been since you’d seen your own reflection?

Day 73 without B

They locked you in a room of mirrors. Some type of psychological test they said. The silence was deafening. You could hear the blood rushing through your body. The first hour or so was filled with screams for help, begging them to let you out. How long had it been? You didn’t know. It was always bright in the room, you couldn’t tell night from day. All you could do was stare at your own reflection. Your once (skin tone) had lost all life, taking a sort of grey undertone. Your (hair type & color) was unkempt and dirty. Your (eye color) eyes were basically hollow. You were losing whatever sanity they hadn’t already robbed you off.

You felt a hand touch your shoulder and you jumped back.

“Are you alright? You’ve been staring at yourself for a long time.” Wanda looked at you with concern.

“Yeah, yeah I’m, I’m fine. Just guess I haven’t seen my reflection in a while. I forgot what I looked like.”

“Well here are your clothes and a towel ”, She sat down what she was carrying with a smile, “and this is your shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. Anything else you need have FRIDAY put it on the shopping list and I’m sure Happy can pick it up next time he goes shopping. Bucky will be here soon.”

“Thank you, Wanda.”

“No problem, (Name). I’m here if you need me.”

As you stepped under the stream off water your muscles immediately relaxed on contact with the heat. You hadn’t had a hot shower or a shower in years. The shampoo had a relaxing lavender scent. As you washed your hair you could feel the years of built up dirt fading away. It almost felt like they years of abuse were being washed out of your brain but it could never be that easy.

You stepped out of the shower and dried your body off before putting on the clothes Wanda brought. A pair of black leggings and a red Henley shirt. You walked out of the bathroom and were greeted by Bucky sitting on your bed smiling at you.

“Is that my shirt?”

“Uh-Maybe? Wanda brought it to me. Do you want it back?”

“No keep it, it looked better on you anyways. Ready to go to your room?”

“Yeah, I guess.” He took your hand and led you down the hall to an elevator.

“We’re on the same floor, so I’m nearby if you need me.” He pressed the button to the 6th floor.

“We have a kitchen, Den, and a bathroom on our floor but we usually hangout in the main living room and kitchen. Wanda is the best cook so she usually handles dinner.”

The elevator door opened to a beautiful den with a giant floor to ceiling window with a beautiful view of the city.

“There are lots of snacks in the kitchen and if you don’t like any of those FRIDAY can put whatever you do want on Happy’s list.”

“Who’s FRIDAY?”

“She’s Tony’s weird robot assistant thing. It was Jarvis at one point but Jarvis is kind of a living person thing robot now and he’s dating Wanda. It’s a little weird but you get used to it. This is your room.”

The walls were empty and there was a huge bed in the middle and a desk in the corner.

“I know it’s not much but tomorrow I’ll take you to buy some clothes and stuff to decorate it.”

“Anything’s better than that cell.” You sat on your bed. It was soft, maybe to soft after spending the last few years sleeping on a pad on the floor.

“You get used to it, I think Wanda and Steve are cooking breakfast if you'd like to get something to eat?”

“I’m starving.” You got up and stood in front of Bucky looking into his blue eyes.

“I missed you so much, thank you for coming back for me.”

“I never stopped looking for you. I needed you back in my arms and now that I have you back, I’m not losing you again.”

An Explanation

Hello welcome to the shit show that is this blog lmaooo.

I suppose I owe you all an explanation on what’s been going on and where I’ve been. I have a chronic pain disorder that makes my life pretty unbearable so sometimes I get in really long and really bad depressive episodes. That being said, I’m finally starting to feel like myself again so we’re gonna pick up these stories right where we left off. Cool? Cool.

You had been falling asleep with Loki every night since he got to the tower and you would be lying to yourself if you denied that you had growing feelings for him. This was a rare morning that you woke up before he did, you gazed lovingly at his face.

“Didn’t anyone teach you staring is rude?” He mumbled out without opening his eyes.

“I guess not,” you shrugged and kissed the tip of his nose.

You felt his chest rumble with a quiet laugh, “We need to get up, you have training today.”

You rolled away from him, “I don’t wanna.”

“Come on, Darling.” He got out of the bed and you could feel the chill left by his body.

“Nooooo,” you curled up under the blanket. He sighed before pulling the blankets off, “I expect you in the gym in 10.” He kissed the top of your head and left you alone.

“Hi, I’m Loki and I like to make my girlfriend get up before noon to do dumb training.” You mumbled to yourself in your best Loki impression when you stopped in your tracks, girlfriend? You had never referred to yourself as his girlfriend. Ever since the kiss yesterday your head had been drowning in thoughts about the God. You were so lost in the thought you weren’t paying attention and slammed into Peter.

“Fuck, Pete I’m so sorry.” You helped him up.

“It’s cool, (Name), are you alright? You seem distracted.”

“Yeah, I’m good, I’m just lost in thought I guess”

“About what exactly?”

“Loki.”

“Do you like him??”

You gave him a ‘no shit’ look.

“Are you gonna tell him?!”

“Tell who what?” You both looked to see Loki walking towards you.

“Tell Tony that we’re out of milk!” You panicked trying to come up with a lie.

“I thought he just had groceries delivered yesterday?” Clint joined the conversation.

“Peter, just finished the gallon! You know how growing kids are haha,” you awkwardly laughed, “let’s go train” you pulled Loki with you to the gym leaving Peter and Clint confused.

“It’s not working” you whinnied. You had been practicing for 30 minutes and nothing was happening.

“Focus harder.”

You rolled your eyes, “I just can’t do it!” You screamed in frustration.

“When you normally do this, what do you do to cause a reaction?”

“It’s most the time out of my control when I get nervous or something.”

“Ah, well what if I told you I know you were lying the spiderling and the milk.” You felt your stomach drop to the floor.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Did you actually think that you could lie to the God of lies?” He walked closer until your faces were inches away, “based on the fact that you wouldn’t tell me I assume it was about me am I right?” You tried to look away but he held your chin in his hand, as panic set in the room heated up, “I’ll take that as a yes. I’m just confused about what’s so bad you can’t tell me.” The words came out like a defeated child. He was clearly hurt that you would hide something from him.

“Loki I-“

“Are you scared of me (Name)?”

“No! No, I-,” you felt tears pooling in your now fire orange eyes, worry filled every inch of you and suddenly you were a pillar of flames. Loki backed away with a look of shock. You extinguished yourself and ran off ignoring his desperate pleas to stop. You locked yourself in the room that you hadn’t been in since you started sleeping with Loki.

“(Name), I love you.” He slid down the gym wall and pulled his knees into his chest fearing that your reaction was based on him being the monster Odin told him he was.

“Hey! (Name), you’re safe! I need you to calm down” you didn’t recognize the man in the room. You fought against him with every bit of strength you had left. The lights began to flicker and the door bust open.

“Doll, It’s me, B, I’m here. We’re safe now.” You felt the familiar touch of his cold, metal hand grip your shoulder.

You looked deep into his oceanic blue eyes. He smiled at you and your heart rate began to calm down.

“There’s my girl. This is Bruce, he’s been watching your vitals and other doctor stuff.”

“Here, let me get this tube out. Is that better?”

“Yeah, Thank you.” Bucky’s heart skipped a beat at the sound of your voice. After all the sleepless nights he couldn’t believe he had you back and he would never lose you again.

“I’ll leave you guys.” He undid your restraints and left the room.

“B..”

“Yes Doll?”

“They told me you died..” tears began to pool in your arms.

“Shhh… it’s all over now.” He laid in the bed next to you.

“Hey, Bruce said you were awake. I’m Tony and this is Stark Tower in New York. If you ever need anything there are a bunch of people I’m sure someone will b-, I’m sorry that’s my son’s school, I need to take this.”

“Tony takes some time to get used to but he’s really a great guy.”

“Knock, Knock.” Two men stood at the door, “Steve and this is Sam.”

“We just thought we’d drop by and make sure you were doing alright.”

Tony walked back in the room, “How do you fail an exam about World War II your dad LITERALLY fought in it?! Here tell him that.” Tony shoved the phone to Steve’s ear, “kids am I right? Your room is set up so as soon as Bruce lets you out of this sterile, white prison you have a nice clean room to go to. We have the best security in the US, you’ll be on the same floor as Bucky.”

“Thank you Tony, how old is your son?”

“He’s 16, we also have a 4 year old we’re in the process of adopting.” He lit up talking about his children, “We’ll get out of here, the more rest you get the sooner you’ll be out of here.” He patted your leg and everyone left the room but B.

“So, Bucky is your name?”

“Technically James but everyone calls me Bucky.”

“I’m glad you have your memories back.”

“Some of the pieces are still kinda hazy but I know one thing.”

“What?”

He gripped your hand,” I’m glad to have you back.”

“I’m glad to be back” you smiled at him finally feeling at peace.
