Newsfeed #138 January 7, 2024 (7 Narvinyë)
What's going on? Well, after being chased down by book editors (on demand), I decided to put things on Wattpad. That's right, all the books will be able to be read over there as well as here (though I have a feeling more people will end up going over there more so than here or over to WordPress.
Tumblr media
I need to explain the Woodland Realm Literary Universe.
Tumblr media
So, what this means that if sometime down the road in the future, should a character have their story told, it will be under this umbrella. Of course, this only applies to characters within the TKWRT Trilogy and its 3 standalone novels (which have their beginning within the trilogy (@tkwrtsongofsevenrivers @oflordsandkingstkwrtbook) and the upcoming Loremasters.
Tumblr media
Since all the stories are interlocked (kind of like the MCU), this made the work easier to follow. This means that am leaving things somewhat open-ended when the current books are complete. I have been working on these things for nearly 10 years now. It seems like only yesterday I debuted on Tumblr with The Saga of Thranduil. What was supposed to be a brief story in the life of the Mirkwood Elves have become a franchise onto itself (not associated with Rings of Power--that rumor* can die now).
Tumblr media
*Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out how that one happened. It reached all the way to my estranged family. Now, I'm attached to another rumor for another project I am writing (@thesecretofthehouseofbourbonbook @lesecretdelamaisondubourbon)--You don't even want to know about that one.
Tumblr media
You'll hear about it eventually.
Either way, 2024 will be extremely busy as I forge ahead alone on two major projects that one day (with any luck) will see the publication my readers desperately want to see. I'm excited, personally; after the horrific events that nearly took me away from my work that were put upon me by my own family, I want to move beyond the past and into the future. My only saving grace has been writing. Thank you for your patience and patronage for the past 9+ years.
By the way: Legolas (@trenarnolegolaslasgalen) just made his debut on Wattpad. There is more to come with him, I was just setting up the pages over Christmas with limited internet. That's what is like living under conservatorship--they only give you the bare minimum to survive.
Tumblr media
More to come...

I know it has been a while, but if you only knew what I have to go through regularly, you would understand why it takes me so long to do anything. I will go into that on another day. It is special because today, the world gets the first look at Book II: The Saga of Thranduil--Extended Version.
Tumblr media
If you are a member of the Facebook Group, then you can get it there. If you are not, you will have to go here. It will be available in both places from now until November 7, 2023. It would be appreciated if you would leave a comment on this thread about whether you liked it or not because I sent it out for beta readers for a reason.
I have been in talks with a lot of publishers on demand who want to publish this book. One of them overzealously wanted to turn the book into a Netflix series. (do not ask). I would rather film the story in order, which begins with @tkwrtrilogy3. At over 1200 pages (currently), the entire trilogy is long enough to have a television show (but I would want it to include @oflordsandkingstkwrtbook and @tkwrtsongofsevenrivers). I am aware of that. To be honest, I would like to be the one to write the script as I also know how to do that (from experience). But, because my stepsister (Roseann Grotjan) stuck me into a Britney Spears situation, I do not have access to my money or any way to negotiate the publication of any of my books (and I have several) on my own, so this is going take a while. I have millions of adoring fans willing to scare the BeJesus out of her in order to get their favorite book in print and onscreen.
Tumblr media
But. someone leaked to me what a perspective book cover of The Saga of Thranduil would look like. I will post one of the mock-ups because seriously, who is going to notice? It is a mock-up, so it is not a final design. Also, I didn't choose it. It was chosen for me to persuade me to choose this particular company. There are at least seven or eight of these people trying to persuade me to publish this book. One of them has actually read the book, and it made them cry.
Tumblr media
They want to sell it in hardcover and paperback. Wouldn't that be nice? My bestie (@fortunatelyclevercandy) wants me to wait. I will not tell you why because I know why, and I'm about to do what she asked me to do. I want literally no FREE PR around it.
Tumblr media
Oh, that is a lot I know. But if it were not for my stepsister, the state of Missouri, and the crappy hellhole they put me in the middle of nowhere with shitty internet (on purpose), I would be farther along, and everybody probably would have several copies of this book series by now. The moral of my story is: do not trust your family after your father dies and leaves you some money. They might just get the idea in their head to take it from you to make $20/hour as your guardian by claiming that you're crazy when you just asked them about your own trust fund. But I digress.
Tumblr media
Enjoy The Saga of Thranduil--Extended Version. You will be the ones who will decide which version of this story gets published. You will be the ones that will make it possible to see the Elvenking's life story in a book store, online, or even on Netflix.

You are probably wondering where I went. Well, someone like this series. And so at the moment, they are looking to publish the entire Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy. Yes, so, if everything goes according to plan, you will be able to buy the books.
At the moment I do not have to change a thing, but if I get the green light the way it is planned, this page will only exist, and all the other ones: @tkwrtrilogy, @tkwrtrilogy2, @tkwrtrilogy3, @extendedtkwrtrilogyend, @trenarnolegolaslasgalen, @tkwrtrilogylasttale, @oflordsandkingstkwrtbook @tkwrtlegends @tkwrtsongofsevenrivers will be abandoned as I will have to work with the publisher to bring the books to a worldwide audience.
Tumblr media
Now, they did mention a series, but I'm not going to put the cart before the horse. I'm a realist first, and a truly diabolical human second. But this HUGE NEWS, yes. Thranduil began here in 2015 as the last of many Middle-Earth stories of the Elvenking, and he slowly rose to heights I could have never imagined. I hope I will be allowed to continue working here (should everything go as planned), and allow me to continue to entertain you as a published author. This will be another era for me and the Middle Earth of J.R.R. Tolkien. Thank You.--JMM (@jmmauthoroftkwrtrilogy @iamjaynaemarie)

MY PERSONAL INSTAGRAM WAS HACKED: HEADS UP!
Normally, I know most people here did not follow me on Instagram, but I have a good following over there for this book. From all nations of the world, so this is why I have it in three languages. I have been writing in those three languages for quite some time: full disclosure.
This is my NEW INSTAGRAM. I just thought I would leave with that today seeing as it has taken me literally a week and a half to fix everything Instagram messed up. First, they claimed a was using some program to get likes--which I would never do. Then, they said I was hacked. That was it. They left it at that and didn't help me to figure out how to change anything. It would be nice if they had technical support.

You know how it is when a celebrity sends you a DM asking to read your books, and you have to drop everything you're doing to make sure he gets a copy of your book? I know, it happens all the time.
Yes, that happened. I was right in the middle of working, and I got a DM from a famous person (I am not going to say whom; if they read the work and like it, I will let them tell the world who they are).
Anyway, if you want to become a beta reader for the extended version of Book II: The Saga of Thranduil--Extended Version, watch this space for the next few months. I will be telling you when that will become available and what to do.
Tumblr media
Also, people seem to be having issues with WordPress and reading this book, so I am going to figure out what is going on today and probably until tomorrow. I don't know what happened. It works for me obviously because I'm the one posting things on my website. But for some reason it is not working for readers, so I'm going to be looking into that today and probably over the next few days to rectify this issue. In the meantime, anyone not on WordPress please try to read Tumblr for a while. I hope it doesn't take too long.
Tumblr media
If you follow on Facebook, I am also working on getting an administrator for the group page because I've gotten so busy. It is making it difficult to work and talk to everybody at the same time. I never anticipated that when I started writing this book in 2015, that it would be this big. It is already taken down Tumblr twice and forced me to change cellphone companies due to the sheer amount of data used on the go.
Tumblr media
It's good to be the Elvenking. (Sometimes).

You are about to read the Legolas origin story shortly. But first, a few notes. (You didn't think you'd have to do homework first, did you?)
Tumblr media
So, anyway, that story is found in two places 1) @trenarnolegolaslasgalen (regular version), and 2) @tkwrtrilogylasttale (extended version). The extended version combines plot points from the extended version of his father's story.
Tumblr media
(Yeah, this guy. The subject of Book II: The Saga of Thranduil @tkwrtrilogy and @tkwrtrilogy2, and the extended version @extendedtkwrtrilogyend). Oh, now you remember. Moving on.
Tumblr media
Now, back to Legolas. The story begins today. Yay! I will not go into the details of how hard it was to get what is going up first done, but it was more harrowing than the first season of Rings of Power (or so I've been told). For those who read the books on WordPress, we're fixing that due to the minor hiatus Book I is going through.
Tumblr media
Oh, in case you didn't know about Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen (@tkwrtrilogy3), it takes place during this part except in actual Middle-Earth (Arda/Endor). We're almost nearing the end of the First Age, so we're WAY ahead of the television show. To be fair, I started this book in 2015, so I had a head start. Now, back to Legolas.
Tumblr media
Yes, this book will take him on the Fellowship--just as soon as he grows up. Just so you know, he's going to do a lot of growing up like his father did in his story. I mean, it IS an origin story. Also, some things from his dad's story will overlap. It's supposed to do that. It's a generational family epic set in Middle-Earth. Uh, yeah. 🤪
Now for those that often read this on WordPress--it's coming. We have to set it up for the pause between the middle of Book I and the beginning of Book III: The Last Tale of Legolas Lasgalen*.
For those that don't know: There are actually TWO Legolas' in Tolkien (the first one makes his appearance in Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen). He is an elf from Gondolin and his name is Legolas Greenleaf. Oropher (whose story got preempted by my family pulling a Jamie Spears on me--later about that) knew the first Legolas. Can't imagine how it got transferred to this Legolas (yet 🤫).
Wait! There's more (that you'll have to wait until after I post the first excerpt of Book III: The Last Tale of Legolas Lasgalen). I'm sure you'll like it.
Yeah, so enjoy what is about to be a really long book. 😁
And don't forget, after this one, there are 3 other books:
The Song of Seven Rivers (the story of Legolas' mother) @tkwrtsongofsevenrivers
Tumblr media
Of Lords & Kings: The Legacy of Dale (about the Bardings) @oflordsandkingstkwrtbook
Tumblr media
And coming soon (or eventually) is Loremasters: The Keepers of the Tales. (TBA)
Tumblr media
Yeah, I think we're done here--for now.
*Lasgalen is Greenleaf in Sindarin (and Sindarin is Quendi for Grey Elven Language).

Before I go ANY further: Let me tell you what happened (briefly):
Tumblr media
I was told all of this on February 16, 2023. So I had to put Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen (@tkwrtrilogy3) on hiatus until all of my source material was replaced. All of this was on the heels of deciding what to do with all this work I've done on the life and times of the Elves of the Woodland Realm (i.e.: publishing).
Tumblr media
NOW, for the MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT:
I just noticed that @trenarnolegolaslasgalen begins on May 2, 2023. That is on a Tuesday (aka Aldúya/Aldëa or Treesday in Quendi; Orgaladh in Sindarin). Legolas' Birthday. Fate seems to always be written in the stars. Either way, if you're on Facebook or Instagram, there's a lovely video marking the occasion of this wonderful announcement.
As we get closer to that date, I will explain (again) how you will be able to read the Extended Version (@tkwrtrilogylasttale) works. I remember how confusing it was for Thranduil's story (@tkwrtrilogy & @extendedtkwrtrilogyend).
As for my beloved stepsister Roseann Grotjan, I pray she does nothing else to hinder the completion of this trilogy and its other 3 standalone books (including @oflordsandkingstkwrtbook @tkwrtsongofsevenrivers). She has no idea how much she is going to have to replace when it comes to my Tolkien Collection I spent years building. On the upside, she did bring me some books that I asked for (even though I asked for them all). What I do have has allowed me to move Legolas' story up the ladder.
Tumblr media
I would like to finish these books as people are dying to edit them for publication apparently. And what the world needs now more than ever is another installment of Tolkien stories for their personal libraries, I am sure. Especially the story (Amazon 🤫) keeps tabs on. To be honest, they want the entire trilogy. I wasn't born yesterday.
Tumblr media
Note: When I said three standalone books, the final installment is about someone you adore so much. (later on that one).
Tumblr media
Spoiler: Everything is tied to Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen. Just so you know. And all of these books have ties to @thehouseofdurin in one way or another. On the upside, my family has no idea how far I have come as a writer (of now TWO trilogies [@lesecretdelamaisondubourbon & @thesecretofthehouseofbourbonbook) and they're missing all the fun. Because no matter how hard you try, you cannot interfere with God's plan for others. 🙂 Yay.

I think this says it all.
They are adamant about trying to make this an actual book you can buy on amazon.com or at a Barnes & Noble. They've been asking for years, and finally, I am ready to give them an answer. Where you read the Legolas origin story (@trenarnolegolaslasgalen) which hopefully I'll get to start this summer without any further interruptions, read this article about his father.

So now you know where I've been. Negotiating.

I am taking my work off of Facebook. Once again, I was banned for 24 hours just for using the word "hate". I was calling out hate speech. But doing that is against their community standards. I am through with their unprofessionalism. I will not allow this company to diminish my name or my hard work with their frivolity and nitpicking. I have work to do, and I need a platform that allows me to do that work. Facebook is not that platform.
From now on, I will only be found on this platform--which often blocks my work that in NO way breaks their standards but somehow my readers complain to me about how @support somehow blocks a book that has NO graphic sex or violent language whatsoever (and ZERO images of said topics). I do not know how companies stay in business banning everything and taking issue with common words in the English language without regard to context. Either way, if you wish to download the books upon completion, watch this space.
Tumblr media
The books will always be available on WordPress (if they are not always available here due to Tumblr's unorthodox algorithms that end up blocking posts for unfounded reasons.--JMM

Yes, I am back (and after this post, I will be back later today after getting so sleep. It has been a while. I would explain what happened and how some unscrupulous people try to interfere with the completion of this trilogy*, but that is whole other book in itself.
While I was preparing to return to writing this story, I hadn't realized that the Facebook page for this book had blown up to his largest did. I did not find out until after my ordeal that I'm not going to discuss right now. So naturally, when I announced I was coming back, it blew up some more. I should learn to expect that when I'm dealing with Thranduil’s side of the family. Got worse after the premiere of Amazon Prime’s Rings of Power series. That, I can't explain.
Tumblr media
I’ll be bringing sexy back with @thegnotesots (hopefully soon, but I digress).
Let me update you on a few things before the events coming later today:
1. We’re back to Middle-Earth. I missed it a great deal. I was right in the middle of returning sooner when something interrupted that continuity and nearly cost me everything. It is a long story that I may share one day on @jmmauthoroftkwrtrilogy after everything gets back on a steady schedule.
2. This book is currently about 1400+ pages long (that is including Book II: The Saga of Thranduil and current first half of Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen. This number does not include the @extendedtkwrtrilogyend which is longer than the original by a lot of pages.
3. There are Videos. I will do those a lot on the book’s Instagram page. As with everything else, they are clever visual metaphors to tell people about things coming up and/or things you might find interesting.
4. This schedule is this way because I am also writing with a co-author on @thesecretofthehouseofbourbonbook (which is also a trilogy about the House of Bourbon). Currently, I am also writing on @lesecretdelamaisondubourbon (about Louis XIV). Yes, it is another king telling his story. I enjoy writing for that perspective. It is comfortable for me, and most people seem to enjoy doing that. It is not every day a short woman gets to play two tall/blonde blue eyed kings. Somehow, I will manage.
Tumblr media
Also, I let it slip about the return of the standalone books (like @oflordsandkingstkwrtbook)
Tumblr media
The story of Legolas’ mother side of the story called “The Song of Seven Rivers”.
Tumblr media
And the final installment called “The Lore Masters.” I had to stop somewhere. That will be six books, you realize. (and that doesn’t include the sister series called @thehouseofdurin by @fortunatelyclevercandy. But even with delay of over a year, I have somehow managed to stay abreast of the storylines, and I’m sharp as a tank. Tack, I meant tack. Look, it’s almost 2 in the morning and I haven’t had much sleep. Cut me some slack. Be glad that even after a year, I am still way ahead of schedule. I know, that’s really weird.
The reason for such a short writing schedule for TKWRT is because I am the most familiar with the stories. After all, it all began here on Tumblr in 2015. The Secret of the House of Bourbon just started its reign in 2019 and only recently started being posted on all the important sites. Which reminds me, TKWRT is on Twitter and Instagram as well as Tumblr and WordPress.
Tumblr media
Okay, so we’re good, then? We’ll see you later today. I better set the alarm. Great. This is going to be an interesting seven days. Night, night. 🌜✨🛌

I have NO issues in any representation of the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. I do not care if it is animated, live action, literary or spray painted on the side of a building. Expression is the highest form of flattery.
What I have a problem with is a representation that does not lead back to Tolkien. I purposely created “The Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy” and its subsequent standalone books for the sole purpose to lead back to Tolkien’s original works. When someone says to me, “reading your story has made me want to read (or reread Tolkien),” my mission has been fulfilled.
I do not do what I do for money. I do not do it for notoriety which I have gained worldwide. I do it because of the love of reading and out of respect for my literary hero J.R.R. Tolkien. In the early days, when people confused my story with Tolkien, that upset me greatly. First of all, I do not think I sound like Tolkien as my story is told in the first person. Granted, I studied his language patterns and felt the need to take out anything “modern” in order to ensure my stories maintained a certain believability.
I have created characters when necessary but never once have I ever taken the works of Tolkien out of context. I “write around” the original material. I work with the original material. I am always referring back to the material to make sure I am capturing the essence of Middle-Earth as Tolkien created it. I made that promise to my father and Tolkien the very second I decided to write my story. I took the path less traveled at a time when Middle-Earth fan fictions on Tumblr were often filled with vulgarity and graphic sex.
I was on the last rung on a ladder of stories when I began “The Saga of Thranduil”. At any time, I could have turned the tide for more attention, but I refused. I could not bring myself to lessen the work of the man inspired me to write fantasy when I was a child. I knew anything less than my best would have disappointed my dying father. I continued on the path I chose.
When teachers started telling me they liked TKWRT and asked if they could read it to their students during a unit on Tolkien, I was shocked. When soldiers deployed in war zones asked for a copy of TKWRT, I was humbled. When high school students wrote me during Winter Recess about wanting to read TKWRT because they could not get to a library, I realized I had done something wonderful. When other published writers asked if my work was a continuation of Tolkien, I finally allowed myself to accept the reason so many people told me they had written to the Tolkien Estate asking about a “lost” book about Thranduil.
I know what I have done and will continue to do. I do not have any issues with how Tolkien is represented. I know how I represent Tolkien. He is never far from my mind whenever I write sentence. In fact, I am always surrounded by his books when I am working. I am telling histories through the eyes of his characters in his world. I make sure he is always front and center in that moment. From the naming of characters (often mentioned but never named) to new place names, I never am looking to the outside. My guide is Tolkien. Until the very last word, he will be the inspiration. He has to be, otherwise I am disrespecting his legacy, genius and his work. This entire series is dedicated to J.R.R. Tolkien. I would not wish to give him anything he would not be proud to read himself.--Jaynaé Marie Miller, from Excerpts, A Memoir.

Today, several things will happen:
1) A new excerpt will be posted at midnight from @tkwrtrilogy3.
2) The article “Becoming Oropher” will be posted on WordPress in order to prepare everyone for the upcoming story told by Oropher in Part II of “Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen”.
I won’t go into all the annoying fights I went through with 2 internet companies to get here. I was knocked offline for over a month because one company was too expensive and lousy and the other one was affordable but the equipment is extraordinarily cheap and flimsy. On the upside of the latter, I now have 5G. Aside from now working on two trilogies (the other being @thesecretofthehouseofbourbonbook), we are finally back on track with TKWRT after a death in the family and an ongoing family dispute.
So, until Midnight: Have a Wonderful Day.

Happy Birthday to J.R.R. Tolkien 🐉
If not for the genius of my 20th century literary hero, there would never be a Kingdom of the Woodland Realm Trilogy. He is known as the grandfather of the modern fantasy genre. He maintained a child-like wonder and imagination his entire life and that is what I strive to do because it is what gives us hope and allows us to believe anything is possible.

Newsfeed #124 December 26, 2020 (26 Ringarë)
After such a tumultuous year, I am hoping to go into 2021 with cautious optimism. Yet, even as I continue working on this series, I will admit I spent a lot of time afraid to work in anticipation of another tragic event that would keep me from doing what I love. However, readers and fans have given me more courage to go on--especially in anticipation of this release--possibly due to the "bonus" material.
In this download of the Original Version of The Saga of Thranduil, there an exclusive look-see into The Epic of Eryn Galen (the prequel, if you will). The first two chapters begin a journey for the Elves that (for some) will last until the end of the War of the Ring (in The Lord of the Rings). Under starlight, the elves awaken on the shores of Lake Cuiviénen. With a stop in a place that would one day become known to the world as Mirkwood, the saga of Elves of the Woodland Realm begins. Book I is their origin story; their legacy.
To end 2020 with something such as this reminds me of how my own journey to this work began--with uncertainty in adversity; wandering in darkness until the first light of the Day Star finally revealed the world to me. Not unlike the characters, I must find the strength to carry on knowing that every night has a day. Hope is often born in times when it seems lost.
You can get the book here: Google Drive or WordPress.

Tis the Season (Again): With a Twist!
This time TSOT* comes with a surprise—an exclusive look into Book I: The Epic of Eryn Galen (you have been enjoying over at @tkwrtrilogy3). Beginning with the Awakening of the Elves at Lake Cuiviénen and through the lives of Orothôn (father of Oropher) and Oropher himself. This should be a nice year-end treat for everyone that loves elves and Middle-Earth.
I figured I would cheer myself up after such a tumultuous year. And nothing cheers me up more than sharing stuff! Just watch this space for ALL the links to download on December 26 (we’re going to attempt not to bring down WordPress again this year by having more than one place to grab a copy).
For further mystery, I’m not going to say which “version” of TSOT it is. 🎄
I heard if you have a Kindle, you can download PDFs (probably because that’s what you’re reading in the first place). Just putting that out there! Let’s end this year on a good note, please!
