Zardy and Pumpkin Jack were never really ones for sharing.

Hell, to this day they still have disputes over who gets what side of the corn maze.

But after you came along, respecting the crops and getting to personally know all the creatures who inhabited this place...they found themselves drawn to you.

You were never afraid of them.

In fact, you were willing to stay in the nearby house just so you could see them both more often (finding the key was...a pain, but well worth it).

After a few months, they're both completely smitten over you.

Jack tried beating Zardy to the punch in confessing to you.....but midjump he was blindsided by a flying Cablecrow and had to untangle himself from its wires.

By the time that was done, Zardy was already with you.

Long story short...you ended up falling for them both as you simply couldn't choose, and they surprisingly agree with this.

Being creatures stuffed with hay and straw makes them excellent pillows whenever you're cuddling/hugging them.

And they talk about their past, or the latest stupid thing some trespasser or Brute/Rattler/Cablecrow did, or what they wanted to do for Halloween.

However, something maaay have to be done about Pumpkin Jack's claws if you're gonna cuddle with him alone.

He insists they're for your protection (or if he needs to answer the call of a crawler who was attacked).

Zardy just shakes his head and urges him to move aside so there's room for him, too.

Of course, repairing them becomes a skill you learned rather quickly during your time in the maze.

But after fixing them up, you always leave kisses on the newest patch you've added to their bodies.

Jack just grins and giggles, kicking his feet and everything.

Meanwhile Zardy hides behind his hat, wishing he could go invisible.

Don't get him wrong, though, he loves your affections just the same.

SMG4: Revival AU notes

((These are mostly little tidbits and notes for an AU I’m making for SMG4, or rather, I’ve been working on for awhile, called Revival, which mostly has Axol come back to life))

** the ending to Revelations gets changed, instead of both Niles and SMG0 dying, Niles splits from SMG0 and launches him to the others, sacrificing himself to let Zero have a second chance

**SMG0 stays at Meggy’s hotel for th meantime, with both Melony and Meggy bonding with him regarding losing Niles

**after the credits roll, we see SMG0 in his room, praying that Niles be forgiven for what he did.

**surprisingly, Niles appears in SMG0′s rom, alive.

** the two hug and have a good long cry

**Axol is brought back to life shortly thereafter, being found by both Niles and SMG0, who take him to the hospital

**Axol’s friend from the afterlife, Garcello (yes our boi Garcello from FnF) also gets revived

** Unlike Niles and Garcello, Axol doesn’t come back in one piece. He’s missing his right arm, his left eye, some of his frills, and his internal organs, he’s also paralyzed from the waist down

** Axol does regain his frills, eye, and organs, and learns to walk again, but his right arms is gone for good, so he has a prosthetic now

** Belle and Tari help Axol adjust to using a prosthetic (them having Mreta Runner  arms and all) while Meggy, Melony, Niles and SMG0 help with physical therapy

** Axol and Melony rekindle their relationship, and start living together

**SMG0 and Niles start dating as well

** Garcello and Axol reunite, along with Garcy’s friend Annie, and Chris (Rapping Demons mod)

** the three boys learn that Garcello’s friend King (Post Mortem Mixup mod) gave the three a second chance at life, as he’d done it before with three other people, BF and GF being two such people.

** Axol can now see spirits, which include seeing Desti, SPudnick, and Fred following their friends. He hasn’t seen Greg or Terrance follow Mario or SMG3 though

** Garcello has the ability to go back and forth being human and a ghost, curtesy of his cigarettes

** Boopkins is a therapist to both Axol and SMG0, while SMG3 takes care of Niles and his own therapy

** Garcello, Annie, and Chris become part of the SMG4 crew

**during Axol’s initial recovery, Kaizo’s brought out of the game

** Axol reveals that he drew Kaizo’s design, along with Saiko’s.Mario calls him their dad, only to get promptly smacked by Saiko

** Because Chris is a demon, Shroomy did try to kill him once, until Annie threatened him by drinking “THE LIQUID”

** Let’s just say Shroomy’s now terrified of her.

** Axol was also believed to have been a demon by Shroomy, until Melony scared him in her deity mode

** Niles tries out various ritual games, like Hide and Seek Alone, The Bath Game, and Baby Blue.

** Niles winds up getting possessed by Francis in Hide and Seek Alone

** Even though it’s been confirmed SMG no longer stands for Super Mario Glitchy, SMG3 still calls SMG4 Glitchy, mostly as a pet name.

** SMG0 gets compared a lot to N from Murder Drones, while Niles gets compared to Angel Dust

** Niles has a very bad case of stage fright, and only prefers to sing around SMG0, who he’s comfortable with.

** Back in Mage, SMG0 and Fred both gave Niles his first kiss

** SMG0 has a terrible fear of thunderstorms, as a result, Niles usually sings to him to help calm him down during storms, one song in particular being Seasons of Love from Rent

** Garcello has a stuffed bear from when he was young named “Beetle-Bear”, a green bear wearing a striped hoodie, named after Beetlejuice. He was made by Gar and his dad when he was only 6 years old

** Garcello was adopted when he was 6, his father being Lucks from Meta Runner (this has been my headcanon for over a year do not judge me!)

** If woken up, Melony and SMG0 get cranky, same for SMG2 and JubJub.

** Boopkins has a Pikachu harness he uses to keep an eye on JubJub

** Rob somehow becomes friends with Zardy

** Niles is a top while SMG0 is a bottom

** SMG0 is not a virgin, having lost it to Fred back in Mage before Niles showed up.

** before Niles came along, Fred and SMG0 were friends with benefits

** When Bob tried getting Melony to sing “Can I put my balls in your jaws” Axol shut it down, handing her a different rap. Bob was about to call him out, until Melony started singing Stringer than you from Steven Universe, looking right at Bob and singing “Well, I think you’re just mad you’re still single.”

** Not even King could bring Bob back after that one.

** Mario once tried making fun of Annie for her height. He learned his lesson the hard way.

** Mario once asked why Niles and SMG0 were gay, Niles responded by asking Mario why he’s still bitchless

Oh yeah, you're very correct there. My Zardy is somewhat self-conscious of that bald noggin of his. I wouldn't say that he hates it per see, more like... uh... I guess you can say he's not exactly all that fond with?

Eh, Idek how to describe it. All I can say for certain is that it's why he hardly ever removes that hat of his and even went so far as to magicked it so that- uhm... How to explain asjkasdjk Alright. You know those old classic cartoons where in some episodes the characters are wearing hats or some other kind of headwear? And how those hats or whatever somehow stayed on the character's head even after they did and went through all sort of shit that should've logically sent it flying off? Yet despite all of that, those hats and such aren't actually stuck to the character's head and have been shown to be easily removable simply by pulling it off? Yeah, sorta like that here. I hope that makes sense lol.

I legit thought of Zardy’s Maze or the Zardy mod from fnf when I saw the words “corn maze”.

Sordward

He doesn’t really have any close friends. It’s probably only his younger brother and Emmet, if he had to be honest.

He… doesn’t really handle this kind of stuff well. Like, his breath shortens, his heartbeat is going fast and all that. It just feels like the walls are getting closer together.

But hey, at least he has someone with him. Which makes him feel better about his own inner problems.

He probably ended up burning the entire corn field if he had to be honest (no matter if his friend protested or not). It’s been like 5 hours, my dude, and he’s tired-

But it’s not like he and his friend would get into trouble for doing that, since the Pokemon police officers are incompetent as shit. It’s always the 5-year-olds that do their work.

Shielbert

Honestly, he only has his older brother and Ingo as his closest friends. And being stuck in a corn maze certainly isn’t the most exciting idea.

It's worse if this all happened at nighttime or during Halloween. It’s just more scary that way, and he doesn’t like it. ;w;

He wouldn’t know what to do besides panic, so it’s likely that his friend would be the one in charge. (If not, they’d just walk around the place).

He’d stay close to his friend, who’s stuck with him in this shitty maze. Mainly because he doesn’t want to lose sight of them. (If he did, he’ll panic even more and he'll be desperate to find them).

Whether he made it out would depend on who this “close friend” is (since they likely took the lead). Also, he probably accidentally fell asleep a few times-

Emmet

His closest friends would either be Ingo or Elesa. And he’s the most likely to get in an actual corn maze when he promised people that he’d go to the store.

Okay, so maybe if he even did arrive at the store. For him, it’s probably like going through a corn maze since he gets lost pretty easily.

He’ll probably try to do the actual maze first. But after like a minute, he’ll just walk through the corn walls. He always wonders why people never did that-

But if that doesn’t work, he might as well try turning on creative or spectator mode so that he can fly away from there (and drag his friend along the way-).

If any of that actually works, well then fuck, problem solved. He can finally go to the train station to tell Ingo what happened.

Ingo

He doesn’t really have many close friends. Maybe only Emmet or Shielbert or something. He and Elesa aren’t overly close, just alright childhood friends.

He’s definitely not impressed with the situation that he and his friend were in. They’re trapped in this fucking Zardy maze bullshit-

He can honestly walk around the corn maze for years (unlike his friend, probably). Until he finds an exit or a map that leads to the exit.

He can honestly memorize that map within a nanosecond. Like he somehow knows where to go without getting lost.

So, unlike everyone else, he can actually get through a maze without cheating. He doesn’t burn anything, panic or put creative mode on. He just walks through the maze for the past 423 years.

Could I request some headcannons with a gn!Reader x Zardy, but it’s more centered around the trope thing of “two characters realize they’re in love and they know it but don’t know how to admit it” until at last they finally admit their feelings and it’s just fluffy all around?

It’s me I’m the 5 crumbs /j

Everyone knew how much Zardy despised humans. To him they’re nothing but trouble--only visiting the maze to goof around and destroy the crops/weeds.

But while he’s stalking a couple of teenagers one night, he sees a third human as well: You.

It doesn’t seem like your friends with them, as you reach them first only to ask them to leave the maze, warning them of the scarecrows that roam around here.

As it turns out, you were the person living in the old house just outside the maze. Usually you stayed indoors, so he forgot you were even there.

At first the teens are barely shaken by your “ghost story”, but when Zardy scraped his tool across the dirt, that spooked them into finally leaving.

You see him before he disappears, approaching him and thanking him personally.

He’s surprised by your bravery...so he spares you that night.

Soon enough you two interact more and get to know each other better. Since you respected the maze, Zardy told the others not to harm you. And thus, there was a truce:

You convinced other humans not to trespass, and he lets you live in peace and harvest food. Seems simple enough.

He didn’t think his relationship with you would be anything more than a mere alliance.

But it turned out to be a lot more than that...and at first he denied ever caring about you.

He was supposed to be a heartless monster who hated humans! And yet..you, a human, hacked your way into his straw heart.

You grew to love him, too, though you didn’t think he would understand what “love” was (considering he’s been in this maze all his life). So you both kept those feelings hidden.

It was painfully obvious to the others, especially Pumpkin Jack.

In fact, he tried to orchestrate a moment for his fellow scarecrow to confess (by having you trip over a Crawler vine so he could catch you).

It failed, but it didn’t stop Zardy from helping you up and brushing the dirt off your clothes.

The close proximity (along with the vines not letting you two go anywhere) finally got you both to admit your true feelings. All under the moonlight.

As cheesy as it was..it worked!

From there on, Zardy’s walls slowly came down and he learned how to love like humans did. He’d come by your house more often, usually with crops or gifts--usually keepsakes left behind or stolen from trespassers.

Around Halloween, you’d both partake in the usual traditions of pumpkin carving, which also includes the ritual of turning the jack o’lanterns into Crawlers.

Instead of patrols, he learned he could just take casual walks with you throughout the maze. Both day and night.

If you remain on the farm and inevitably grow old, everyone will get together to make a scarecrow that you could transfer your soul into.

That way, when the time comes you’ll never have to leave Zardy <3
