do you have any thoughts on cazador as a character? personally i really loved the parallels between him and astarion & the way that the master/spawn relationship is used as an allegory for cyclical abuse. the scene with cazador’s master’s skull where you find out that he was once victimized in the exact same way that he later victimized astarion was really a lightbulb moment for me re: what vampirism represents in this game.

BOY DO I, i don't think much of it hasn't already been said, though. He's a tragic character in his own right of course, not that that takes away from the awful man he is.

Me and my boyfriend make fun of him a lot, we call him "the best BG3 character" as a little inside joke between us and come up with ridiculous scenarios of things that might have occurred throughout those 200 miserable years the spawn had under his command lol. Maybe he had a month where he was really specific about the shoes everyone wore, maybe once every other decade he had a weird week where he tried to be "nice" only to become frustrated when his efforts weren't immediately met in kind by the rightfully-terrified spawn, maybe between all the torture and horrific-ness he just did some plain weird shit like making someone crouch by in his fainting couch and wait by open-handed for grapes that he dramatically chewed on and then spat right out since he can't actually eat them lmao

And that's hysterical but I think we also started doing that because when you meet Cazador, when you first hear his voice and see his demeanor in person your immediate reaction is probably somewhere along the lines of "THIS is the clown you were so scared of, Astarion?"

And the answer is, of course, yes. This embarrassing little man stuck in a cage of his making instills fear beyond comprehension in Astarion and all his siblings. This man who undoubtedly showed all these spawn, inadvertently, the strangest, most arguably "human" aspects of himself at some point or another during these two centuries they had together is also an absolute monster. And i really like that! I think its far more effective and fitting for his story than if he was, lets say, a Ketheric type.

(this got very long so, more under the cut)

Look at Ascended Astarion in the epilogue now, for example. Everyone agrees that he's an absolute fucking dork - and I think we all also agree that he will go on to destroy the lives of many people beyond repair, especially his own, until the day he is killed.

In the topic of vampirism as an allegory for abuse, I both agree and also don't, at least not exactly - i just think it's deeper than that. I've spoken about this in another post but i find it incredibly refreshing how, to me, it seems like Baldur's Gate 3 has no interest in painting vampirism as sexy or fun past a surface level. It's a curse that nobody asks for unless put in a situation where they feel as if they have no other way out, and it shapes and haunts you for the rest of your undead existence.

Even if you enjoy its benefits at first, that has a time limit. You will see your family and loved ones die, you will see culture evolve while you stay perpetually the same. You will experience so much hurt and pain because the only thing that makes life truly sweet is knowing that it is finite, and eventually it will wear down all of your humanity. And since you can't die unless you are scorched by the sun, staked, or dismembered, you must live with the knowledge that you will never have a peaceful death - and since you won't have a peaceful death, you better not die - and if you don't want to die, you better not be weak - and if you don't want to be weak, you must seek out power at all cost and slash things like love and friendship out of your life.

And what is funny, is that in his attempt to be more like a mortal - to eat, drink, walk the sun, such incredibly simple desires - Cazador (and Astarion, if he ascends) is accidentally only drawing further away from the person he supposedly once was, because that fear of weakness has already utterly corrupted his soul.

That's quite a grim way to look at it, of course. But I genuinely think that it is the natural conclusion of something like immortality.

That's why I quite like that, even after Astarion has found happiness, even after he finds his peace, he still doesn't exactly embrace being a vampire - because It's not something he should be expected to embrace. I think it's a very unique take on the trope.

I also want to leave here this message written by his character writer, which really got me thinking about him on a deeper level since i saw it months ago. It is specifically about the sexual aspect, but I think it branches beyond it too, when you think about it.

So about Buddy Holly…

Guys my heart is gonna burst 😭, so I was watching the trailer and pausing it every two seconds to catch every detail (you know, having a normal one), when I got a bit fixated on the music.

I had the idea to sing along to the parts of the score that were recognizably the melody to “Everyday” in order. (So the tune would play the equivalent of the first verse, then some vocalizing would happen, then the tune again but this time it’d be the second verse, so in and so forth.)

And you won’t believe what verse is playing over that scene where Aziraphale flashes back to the candlelight dinner, it’s a real shocker /s:

“Everyday, it's a-gettin' faster

Everyone said, "Go up and ask her"

Love like yours will surely come my way

A-hey, a-hey, hey”

…So uh… putting aside the fact that the implications are very adorable (encouraging Aziraphale to just have a nice time with Crowley and don’t overthink it), it also sure sounds familiar.

MARK MY WORDS, something Happened at that damn dinner. He worked up the courage to invite Crowley inside for what was an obvious date, then Crowley probably, you know, acted accordingly, and Aziraphale got overwhelmed. Like babe no offense but I feel like you went to fast for yourself, lmao.

So now let’s pay close attention to the actual part containing sung lyrics, with the only discernible lines being:

“everyday, it’s a gettin’ closer,

Going faster than a roller coaster,

Love like yours will surely come my way”

So interestingly “love like yours” plays specifically when the trailer reaches its climax, flashing image after image to tell us to expect some element of chaos and urgency in the events to come. This is maybe a reach but it’s gotten me even more convinced that the romance(s?) aren’t gonna simply be a very important B plot but directly effecting whatever strangeness/ danger is occurring in the main mystery.

…Look I’m really gunning for an “oops, we broke the universe with gay pining” angle, lol. First of all that would just be funny. Second of all, I think it would be utterly fascinating to explore any number of implications Aziraphale and Crowley’s whole thing has for the natural order of things. Or even the possibility that the “Great Plan” was about reconciliation instead of war, but perhaps more on that in a later post.

Aries: I’d probably say 50% venus 25% moon 15% sun — honestly this is kinda hard for me cause my best best friend is an Aries moon and I get along very well with Aries moons however… this one girl that I broke off all contacts with cause she was obsessive ( she still hasn’t stop💔💔 even though we stopped talking for 2 years, super creepy) 50% venus because omg literally almost every single lovely person I know has that placement it’s mad. maybe it’s bc my venus conjuncts theirs (I’m also an aries venus) they express love in a way I adore so 💕💕 for aries sun, 25% because I’m only close with one aries sun but she’s literally so fly I love. but she says some weird stuff occasionally though she’s too unfiltered HAHAHA love that.

I love them so much. they’re always there to help. they’re really responsible people even though they like to have fun. best people to have for group projects. they’re also really good at putting themselves in other peoples shoes hence making them very good at comforting others. very good friends that would do anything for you. they tend to radiate the same energy you give them so always give your best to them for you to receive the best💪💪 for pisces risings, I just really like they’re features. they all give like a reserved energy and many people would think that they’re really high achievers and admirable people with a cute face HEHE. they’re really sweet and awkward at first but once you get to know them omg it’s a huge difference they’re little devils LOLOLOL (in a good way🤫🤫) I tend to have many pisces rising friends maybe cause their rising is in my seventh house but 😚😚 whatever. they’re little choco pies, random ik but it just fits their whole persona . pisces mercuries are really chill people who like to talk. ever the gentleman; cleans you both up and makes sure that you’re okay, gives you soft praise. very nice to cuddle with; he’s content to let you use him like a body pillow and just wrap yourself around him and fall asleep.

he does not strike me as a “funny guy”. he’s pretty serious, but will laugh with you about small things like if you accidentally bump heads when changing positions, etc. (then he’ll kiss it better and go back to business as usual)

H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)

he keeps his face clean-shaven, so he’s probably doing some maintenance downstairs, too. he’s a very neat and tidy guy.

I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)

pretty romantic, but not like, trail-of-rose-petals type romantic. just a lot of eye contact, soft praise, and definitely some “I love you’s” later on in the relationship. I don’t see him as a casual sex guy — I think he’s done with that phase of his life and he’d rather pick one person and love them with his whole heart.

J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)

I don’t think he takes matters into his own hands very often. he doesn’t strike me as a very horny guy, and it’s hard to find the time and space to crank one out when you’re living in college dorms with a roommate (and trying not to die all the time). he much prefers to do things with you instead, anyway.

K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)

some things I’ve mentioned already; praise, eye contact, you saying his name… idk if its a kink per se, but he wants to hear you. he loves all the soft sounds you make when you’re needy (being vocal during a makeout session is almost sure to escalate things). he gets off on getting you off, and it gives his ego a boost to know he’s making you feel so good that you can’t form words, just pretty little moans and whimpers.

L = Location (favorite places to do the do)

his room or yours, that's it. he’s not an exhibitionist; he values his reputation, and doesn’t want to get either of you into trouble. you might be able to convince him to mess around in the shower before / after the main event, but that’s about it.

you, and the fact that you’re his. I know that feels like a cop-out answer, but it’s true. he’ll look over and see you in his bed in the morning, the early sunlight warming your skin, and he's ready to go.

N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)

I absolutely cannot see him wanting to be called by his title, etc. nope. no way. he despises it, and he also wants to know that you love him for him, and not his status. he also doesn’t want to hurt you during sex — there’s enough pain in your lives already. when that door closes behind you, it's only soft touches and gentle pleasure.

O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)

he had done more receiving than giving until he met you. he learned what you like (and how much he likes giving it to you) very quickly and now he won’t hesitate to get on his knees for you, especially if you ask nicely. he likes to use his mouth and hands at the same time for maximum effect. he’ll never decline head from you either, but it doesn’t happen often; he’s more focused on you.

P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)

he fucks like a prince: proper. usually nice and deep and slow, taking his time with you and making you feel every movement. on occasion, if you rile him up enough or piss him off, he might give it to you (see also: make you take it) a little rougher.

see above. has only happened once, and it kinda backfired (you ended up being late to formation and getting bitched at by the wingleader). now he won’t try anything unless he has at least an hour alone with you (enough for proper foreplay and some aftercare.)

R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)

the two of you will experiment a little bit, mostly with new movements, etc., but you keep things pretty simple. if it ain’t broke… (and it certainly isn’t).

S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)

your record is three rounds in one night, four if you count the morning after. you haven’t really had the time to try and beat it; school and training takes a lot out of you, and you’d simply rather sleep sometimes — but you’re both content to keep things at one round most nights, or just cuddle instead.

T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)

I don’t see him owning or using toys (though it remains unclear what options they have in this universe). after he manifests a signet, that might come into play depending on what it is, but for now he feels like he has plenty of options already (his fingers, tongue…)

U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)

he’s not a huge tease, but will make you ask for nearly everything with words, even if it's embarrassing to you, but he wants to know that you truly want this, and he finds it so cute to hear you beg for him and only him.

V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)

he’s a talker, telling you how good you feel around him, how pretty you look under him, etc. sound-wise, if he’s in control, you’ll just get the occasional soft gasp / panting. if you’re in control, you might hear some whimpering… either way, he sounds so pretty. you should tell him that, and see what happens (the praise kink goes both ways.)

W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)

he only saw sex as a way to fulfill a biological need until he met you, and realized it could be so much more — he’s never truly loved any of his hookup partners. definitely some things he had to unpack there after your first time.

X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)

he’s tall, and pretty lean… the laws of nature dictate that he’s hung. I don’t make the rules.

Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)

not super high, but he usually rolls with you — if you’re down, he’s down. simple as that.

Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)

he can’t fall asleep until you do, but that usually isn’t a problem; he’ll tire you out / relax you real nice every time. A+ cuddler, as we discussed earlier.

Collecting scarabs for medicinal use was a noble cause, or at least that was what you kept telling yourself to keep the flimsy bits of motivation you had left from dissolving completely. You already caught a few, but it was a tedious task – even more so because these little critters knew very well how to bury themselves and hide in the dry sand of the desert. They outsmarted you with ease, and frustration was slowly getting the best of you. You had been here for a couple of hours now, judging from the sun’s lowering position, and the results didn’t please you. The wicker basket you brought with you was still fairly empty, the revenue wasn’t fantastic. The Village Chief would probably be disappointed when you would return to the village. Why did the old man ask you instead of someone more experienced in this field? Surely, there lived people in Aaru Village who were more agile in scarab-catching.

You heaved out a sigh, ambling through the loose sand without paying as much attention as you initially did. This job was tiring you, and on top of that you were beyond bored. It was as if those scarabs knew that you were looking for them, and you found not a single one anymore. Had a warning call resonated through the population? Or was it simply a case of inexperience and bad luck?

It’s for a good cause, you reminded yourself, knowing very well that the way you were staring at the sand at your feet was pretty much useless. You used the front of your shoe to stir the sand mindlessly. Well, six scarabs were better than no scarabs, right? You just had to look at it from the bright side.

Nah, six scarabs wasn’t all that bad for a rookie like you. You tried to muster up a sense of satisfaction. It was getting darker, and despite the short time you lived here, you knew very well that the desert was cold and perilous at night. It was about time you headed back to the village. The sun was already setting, and it wouldn’t be long until its warmth would dissipate.

You turned around, ready to pick up your basket, but a movement caught in your peripheral vision had you riveted to the sandy desert floor in fright.

Deep laughter broke through the silence, and sheer horror overtook your entire being as three men approached you. Their pace was leisurely, as if they only came for a little chat, but the malice in their sickening grins gave away that they weren’t there to play the nice guys. You were surrounded by a ternary of Eremites, and your heart froze over in fear.

“Well well, what do we have here,” the man in the front jeered, his hand ghosting over the grip of his dagger before he took it out of its confinements. “All alone in the desert, friend? Not a smart move, now you’re left at our mercy and we have none of that.”

They all laughed, as if the man just told a funny joke. It wasn’t even remotely funny to you, and you realized gravely the mistake you had made. You were terrified, and even more so, you were doomed. The setting sun sunk behind them, and they stood tall as stark silhouettes against the darkening sky. Their long shadows cast over you, wrapping you in the dark. You glanced around, panicking. Was there a way to escape? Could you possibly outrun them if you were to make a mad dash for it? The chances were slim, and you knew that. It was merely out of instinct that you desperately sought a way to flee.

“P-Please let me go,” you pleaded, but it only elicited another round of laughter.

Then there was a dagger under your chin, coaxing up your face as the Eremite soldier forced you to look at the malicious grin he wore. A sob escaped your throat as anxiety racked your body. Your heart pounded wildly and you closed your eyes. Just be done quickly, you silently pleaded. Every fiber of your being was expecting to die right there and then, for you had nothing that could possibly satisfy them enough to let you go. What could you offer them? Six scarabs?

“Just checking, kid,” the man spoke roughly. “Do you have anything of value with you? If not, we’ll just take you with us. Maybe that godforsaken village of yours is willing to pay a nice sum of Mora for you.”

A growl ruptured through the twilight sky, and a flash of purple set everything alight. With a yelp that held both surprise and pain, the Eremite who had you cornered flew backward and you sank to your knees, panting heavily. Thunder crackled all around you, bolts of purple lightning painting the sand a violet glow. Another man fell to the ground with a groan, and you gasped when you saw a familiar face engage in a deadly dance with his trusted polearm in his hands. He moved swiftly, the eyes of his Anubis mask glowing voraciously as the last man, too, fell to the ground with a cry of pain.

A pair of red eyes landed on you, partially hidden by the shadow of his mask, and your heart jolted in relief. They were smoldering with anger and bloodthirst, yet the familiarity of them warmed your body that had been chilled with fear before. He was breathing heavily, his bare chest rising and falling after having to fend off three skilled Eremites. You saw the relief in his eyes, despite the glowering hatred they held within, before he averted his gaze to look at the bodies that rested in the sand.

“Lay one more finger upon them and you’ll die by my hands,” he growled, and the tassel of his vicious spear caught the final light of the setting sun, shimmering dangerously. But his words fell upon deaf ears, for his opponents were long unconscious.

Cyno twirled his spear, burying the blade in the desert sand before coming over to you. He helped up your shaking form gently and slowly, supporting you to prevent you from collapsing again. You were still in shock, and tears welled up in your eyes when you looked at your savior.

“Fool,” he scolded you, his hands driving up to cup your tear-ridden cheeks. “Do you have any idea how worried I was when I heard that you left Aaru Village on your own?”

“I’m sorry,” you muttered with a frail voice, for it was all you could muster at the moment. “The Chief asked for help and–” you trailed off, knowing all too well that Cyno didn’t want to hear any excuses.

“You’re so naive, wandering off into the desert alone,” Cyno groaned, his red eyes – that were calmer now that he had you in his arms – glided over your being to check for any injuries. “These surroundings won’t treat you nicely, nor does the scum that roams here at night.”

He sighed, wiping your tears before his hands dropped to the small of your back. He pulled you closer, taking you into a soothing embrace. You instantly buried your face in his fluffy white hair, a strangled sob leaving your throat. For a few minutes, you simply stood like that, relishing in the feeling of safety that washed ashore. With his hands resting on your trembling figure, you finally grew a little more at ease. Cyno was there.

“You’re too kind, Y/N, putting yourself at risk for the sake of helping others,” he murmured, resting his cheek against the side of your head. “Next time, I’m going with you.”

You nodded; you liked that idea. There was no way that you’d ever set foot into the desert alone after tonight’s events, at least not for quite a while. You’d only venture into the vast plains of sand and sandstone when you had your Cyno by your side. The nauseating laughter of those Eremite soldiers still echoed in your mind, and you shuddered in your lover’s arms.

“I think I’ll catch a lot more scarabs with your help,” you attempted to joke.

Cyno didn’t laugh. He clearly wasn’t ready yet to bring a lighter note to this tense situation. Instead, he let go of you, opting to take your hand instead.

“Can you walk?” he asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine now that you’re here,” you replied. “I just wanna get out of here as quickly as possible.” You allowed your gaze to wander towards the crooks that lay in the sand and pursed your lips. “I don’t wanna be here when they wake up.”

“It’s probably better for their sake if they won’t wake up for as long as I’m still here,” Cyno muttered darkly. He gave a gentle tug on your hand. “Let’s get you out of here, Y/N.”

You obediently followed him, more than happy to leave the desert behind and get back to the safety of Aaru Village. You had learned your lesson; the desert couldn’t be trusted. Cyno had warned you many times regarding the matter, but you only realized the weight of his words when you experienced it first-hand. You were so, so grateful that he showed up right on time.

Where would you’ve been without Cyno?

You didn’t even want to think about that.

He shrugs, nobody is as good as you.

Obito:

Finds out and tries to ‘secretly’ commission you lmao. Makes it totally obvious too, his handwriting is shit and eveeeerrryyyyone knows who Tobi really is…. Plus how can you even begin without discussing what he wants done!! Duh, Obito! Unfortunately for him, you are more interested in drawing matters of the flesh. He’ll only show his chest, nothing more.

‘That’s fine.’ You shrug, and get to work. Obito, however, does not have the resolve to sit still! It’s frustrating to no end, but alas, after what seems an eternity— its done. Sort of. Still much to add, but the basics are there and you’ll work better when he’s not asking how does it look every twenty minutes.

Eventually you do finish this beautiful piece of him, and Obito cries. You made his scars tolerable and beautiful with your mind’s creativity, he feels less self conscious about them, only a little.

Shisui:

Is the least normal about it when he discovered your sketchbook — more like snatched and played keep away. Had to fight him for it, literally. Will ask you to paint/draw him naked…many times lol and you respectfully say no... Not that he likes people to see him naked (ok maybe a little?) but he secretly hopes it might happen one day. It would be a private thing for the two of you, cause he wants that ass.

And when you do cave to his whim, just to satiate him. He’s nervous lmao. Had this oh so macho man idea of rocking a hard on but Shisui simply maintains his usual semi. It’s nice though, you make sure it’s extremely detailed..as he asked for.

But, ‘(y/n)… this is chibbi!!!’ Lol, jokes on Shisui!! He didn’t say how to draw his pp.

Itachi:

Is the most normal about it. Though he still will praise you every time you finish a piece and show him, he is still massively impressed. How does your wrist not get tired? …maybe this is why your hand jobs are so good. 😈 Just watching you try a new technique (pointillism, which is my favorite style) makes his wrist hurt. Enjoys when you ask him for ideas! He has lots of them! Mostly…obscure and derelict landscapes though.

Would not be opposed to having his portrait done, but it’s really not his style. He is disciplined enough to sit still but doesn’t see the value in it. Not until the final product is revealed, does he truly understand how important this piece was. You’ve captured his personality in a new light.

I made a lot of posts summing up my thoughts on the Sephirah/Patron Librarians when I finished LobCorp, and more when I was midway through LoR, but now that I'm all caught up on Project Moon lore, I thought I'd give my thoughts on EVERY Patron Librarian and Sinner.

This'll be a long one, so buckle up.

Angela - Holy shit. Where do I start. Ten thousand people have summed up Angela better than I ever could. She's just like me fr, she's one of the best-written characters, she's amazing in every way. Though to be fully honest... I don't like how some aspects of LoR's story surrounding her were written. But that is a LOOOOONG tangent that probably needs its whole own post.

Malkuth - I've said a lot of mean things about Malkuth. I've called her a "nothing character," I've said she's "just the tutorial Sephirah/Librarian," and I've generally seemed very neutral-to-negative on her. But overall... I do like her. Her need to be recognized for her abilities hits me close to home.

Yesod - Love him in LobCorp. Ruina made him into so much more of an insufferable asshole. I don't like him very much in Ruina.

Hod - Arguably the Sephirah/Patron I relate the most to. Her depression, her need to be seen as a "good person," and just... so much of her dialogue. It all resonates with me. And the way she moves past it all, and is still able to be kind... I love it. My heart.

Netzach - I'm not his biggest fan, not by a LONG shot, but I still love him to pieces. He's so chill.

Tiphereth - If Tiphereth has a million fans, I'm one of them. If Tiphereth has ten fans, I'm one of them. If Tiphereth has no fans, I'm no longer alive. And Enoch is fine ig, I wish he got more screentime though.

Chesed - He's cool. I feel generally lukewarm about him, like a lukewarm cup of coffee.

Gebura - I could go on a tangent about how hot Gebura is, and I won't lie that it is a reason I really like her, but... she's so strong. And courageous. And in a genuine way. She had to learn what courage really means. Her journey in LobCorp is one of the best-written parts of that entire game, almost on par with the ending to me. And the way she chats with Roland in LoR is just so interesting.

Binah - I could go on a tangent about how hot Binah is, and I won't lie that it is a reason I really like her, but... as I've said in the past, I love how she isn't just what she looks like on the surface. She has the ability to be cruel without a second thought, but she can be kind without a second thought as well. For all she seems like a high-and-mighty bastard who revels in keeping information from people and being smart and philosophical, under the surface she is totally not that, and it intrigues me to no end.

Hokma - Gonna be real... I really... REALLY don't like Hokma. Like, at all. I'm verging into "active disdain" territory with him. Which sucks, because I wanted so bad to like him. But I just can't. Sorry chat.

Roland - What is there to say about Roland? He's-- Roland. There's so much about Roland, and my thoughts are almost identical to the hundred other thoughts on his character you've probably read. So I'm not gonna waste your time with that. Just know I really like him.

Now it's time for the Sinners lol.

Yi Sang - He's fine. His story didn't really resonate with me in the way it did for a lot of others. Which is sad to me, but you know, you can't like every character ever. I respect him as a character.

Faust - She is, to me, the definition of mixed opinions. She's hot. She's an insufferable bastard. She seems to care more than she lets on. She's a smarmy know-it-all. She obviously has her own struggles. She presents an aura of I-don't-give-a-shit. She's nice to Dante more than she needs to be. She's on the side of the big company. I cannot ever decide on a solid opinion about Faust, because it changes basically every time they give her a speaking line.

Don Quixote - Dondon :3

Ryōshū - I love her a lot. She's probably not intended to be a funny character, but a lot of her moments are hilarious to me. I love her dynamic with Sinclair. She's pretty as hell. And badass. Most of her Identities are really cool, too. Out of every Canto left, Ryōshū's is the one I'm most excited for.

Meursault - I have no opinions on Meursault. He is perfectly adequate as a character, and my emotional attachment is minimal.

Hong Lu - Hong Lu is a weird one to me. I wanna like him, but he has so little time on screen and so few speaking lines that it's hard to really form an attachment. You can kinda project whatever you want onto him because he's so absent from the story. I need more time to form an opinion, as more Cantos come out.

Heathcliff - God I love Heathcliff. I had a lot of issues with Canto VI, but overall I loved it, and Heathcliff's story. His character development across the game. His relationship and dynamic with Ishmael. There's so much to talk about that, again, I cannot cover in what is supposed to be a short summary of my opinions on each major character.

Ishmael - OUGOGHGHGGHGHGHGHGHG <3<3<3<3<3

Rodion - I really like her, I just wish she was more fleshed out. Which will come in time, of course. Her source material is what really attached me to her (Crime and Punishment is a great book) and that's probably why I'm able to stay so loving of her despite her lack of much real character development throughout the story.

Sinclair - Where to start with Sinclair... I really love his story. And his personality. He ticks every box for what I like in a character. He's cute, too, which helps. They really went off with his Canto, and even though later Cantos have had higher production value and more cool moments, his still has a close place in my heart as the first time I realized Limbus might not just be "worse LoR."

Outis - Not really a fan. I kind of... find her insufferable. Even moreso than Faust. But I KNOW that the SECOND her Canto drops, my opinion will change. She's one of those characters where I can tell her Canto will either make me start to love and worship her, or despise her even more. My opinion is ready to change. I'm ready to love her. And when her Canto drops, I feel like that just may happen.

Gregor - He's fine. Like Meursault, I don't have too many thoughts. He kind of got his story done pretty early, and has been relegated to be a minor side character who provides occasional comic relief. But he serves the role well, and I like him overall.

Dante - Dante is arguably my favorite protagonist. I may like them more than Roland. Their failcringe vibe just captivates me.

ft. my cursed thoughts bc i didn't have the energy to flesh stuff out

can be taken romantically or platonically bc friends can have arcade dates too

(i love having funny thoughts in between studying + reliving some cute moments looking back at prom photos for inspo so thank you for this)

favorite games:

jiwoong: he's effortlessly just good at everything to the point where he casually plays all the games when you're sitting there like ?? how

hao: over there playing guitar hero or some shit i swear like proving musical talent to the core!!

hanbin: ddr 100% you can not tell me man isn't on dance dance revolution every single moment there. you can't pull him away either. he devours it too like got everyone watching like that one kid

matthew: bro loves playing claw machines to look at cute things bc me too he just sees things and is like "ooooo" and somehow ends up at it for hours but only comes back with one thing for you (it's the thought that counts)

taerae: he's always on the coin pusher but he's so bad like idk why he plays but he loves standing there BUT he will get frustrated when they won't fall and smack it so he gets the alarm rang on him

ricky: he probably likes to play skee ball. idk why but it gives the VIBES like he would probably like how he looks cool. bc it's like the closest thing to bowling and he seems like someone who would like to look cool while bowling

gyuvin: pacman. he has tried every game and found out he is bad at them. the only thing he can go back to is pacman.

gunwook: playing streetfighter but like seriously. has my man sweating over here. please bring a towel for him.

yujin: he gives me the vibes of someone who would play those like shooting simulator whether it be jurassic park or like those ones with the zombies. and he might get jumpscared lol

most competitive: hao

doesn't really try to be but the moment you're in there challenging him, he's going at 100%

would win at like every game and you're sitting their regretting ever doubting him

though he just gives you all his points afterward so you can do whatever you want for prizes

that's the real reason he just wanted some motivation to get more points for you

wins you things: matthew, jiwoong, ricky (kinda)

we've already talked about matthew spending hours to get something for you (he's super diligent about it he will get you the thing you want even if he spends all his money)

wbk jiwoong good at it all, so no surprise he comes back with whatever you wanted (doesn't matter if its 1 or 10 he shall get them all)

so now ricky

why kinda?

well he doesn't actually win you it

he tries but then finds out that it's all a scam and nearly impossible

so he tries to bribe the employee to give it to him

ends up buying it from them for you so it's the same thing right??

tells you to win your own things: yujin, taerae

OK TAERAE IS KINDA GOOFY

he wants to but then gets frustrated that he can't bc like?? who made it so damn hard

so he tries and then almost breaks the machine so ends up telling you to do it yourself

and then we have yujin who's just just like "do it yourself" bc he doesn't wanna

but then you keep bothering him about it bc you can't win

like bro getting a lil annoyed with how badly you want something

so then he plays it

wins

but then keeps it for himself

he says it's compensation for you bothering him about it LMAO

too busy to even be near a machine: hao, hanbin, gyuvin, gunwook

well technically hao is going to get points to get you prizes but he's staying away from the machines knowing they're a scam

the other three though, they're off in their own worlds

they take their games very seriously (especially hanbin & gunwook)

gyuvin's just having a nice time being immersed so you don't want to bother him
