I was unsure/indifferent of Yona’s design at first, and still feels a lil shoehorned, but she’s kinda grown on me now?? Esp from the fanart and doing the quest. Like Yona says Sidon gushed about Link each day and instead of being jealous she’s like “omg I see why now ///“ lol. Not immune to nice lady.

EDIT: even down to trying her damnest to put the zora armour together likE- we all know what zora armour means

For your Bad Blood amv, did you edit the song to be slightly faster? All the versions I’ve found were slower than it, and honestly they don’t sound right after watching your video so much XD. If you did make that edit, may I use it?

If it is, I didn't do it intentionally! Honestly, the most mysterious thing about the version in the video is sometimes there's a lower voice singing and I have no idea who it is. Listening it now and comparing it to the just Taylor version...it's not right. Who is that person. It's not the Kendrick Lamar version, and googling around I don't see any other version with another person.

Hmmm I did rip it off youtube back then (and wasn't super familiar with the song, just knew of snippets from the memes until I listened to that version all the way through and was like "oh no i'm probably going to do this entire song I'm seeing too many terrible images to pair with the lyrics"), so it might have been sped up and slightly pitched down at times to avoid copyright or to sound like a duet? But it's a really good pitching job if so...sounds like a new dude...sounds like they're singing together too...like it's a dude mixing his voice with taylor's...but I'm bad at processing audio sometimes so.

I don't have the original file anymore though, so we'll never know unless someone recognizes it. Here's the video in question, listen to Bad Blood Nev's Version and tell me if you've heard it anywhere. Is it pitched down? Is it not and did a dude sing along with Taylor? You decide!

It does make the song way more cringey though with suits the video. and the fact there's two voices fits the AMV focuing on the betrayal Yona AND Hak.

hello and welcome if you’ve come across my page! this is the long overdue introduction + organisation post for this blog (2 years late. but oh well)

ABOUT ME: you can find a more detailed profile on my carrd — but here are the basics.

you can call me jem, i use they/them, and i’m 21. i am currently a music student—if ever i suddenly disappear for like, a month or two, just know it’s because of school, lol.

Unwitting Rescue-Chapter 5

Fandom: Supergirl

Relationships: Kara Danvers/Lena Luthor

Characters: Kara Danvers, Lena Luthor, Rose Zen (Original Character), Marigold Zen (Original Character), Violet Zen (Original Character), J'onn J'onzz, Winn Schott, John Stewart

Summary: Kara Danvers finds a box of kittens on her way to work. Things don't go according to plan.

Chapter 5/?

Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4

As Kara walked into the main computer hub for the DEO, she noticed that J’onn was hunched over Winn looking over the footage.

“What got you both so mesmerized?” asked Kara.

J’onn looked up and gave her a worried look and Winn stared at her mystified.

Kara frowned and asked, “Is it something bad about the girls?”

“Winn was able to get the original video footage from different businesses that had a view of Catco. What they show is a little bit….concerning,” said J’onn.

“How so?”

Winn motioned Kara over to his computer so she could see.

“This is a video from Dennison Bakery across the street from Catco. It has a good view of where you found the kittens. Just watch the video closely.”

Winn pressed play and Kara zoned in on the video. She saw herself walking towards Catco, but frowned at what she saw.”

“Wait. Something doesn’t make sense. When I was walking up to Catco, the box wasn’t there one second, and then the next second it was. How is that possible?” asked Kara.

“We thought that it was strange. Initially, I thought that the video was edited, but if you look at the time frame going second by second, no chunk of time appears missing,” said Winn.

“That is odd. But they couldn’t have just materialized out of nowhere,” murmured Kara.

“That is what I thought too which is why I slowed it down so that it would do a fraction of a second a time. That is when things get very trippy.”

Winn played the video but had it going at the slowest speed rate. It took a couple of moments, but Kara saw what she was looking for which her baffled. The video showed everyone including herself freezing in place for a moment while a white light beamed down a box.

“That must be the kittens,” murmured Kara.

The white light grew brighter and brighter until suddenly it vanished, and everybody started moving again.

Kara stared at the screen for several moments before shaking her head.

“This doesn’t make sense. Why kidnap the girls, but then dump them in the middle of nowhere?”

“Well, not exactly middle of nowhere…” said Winn.

Kara rolled her eyes and said, “You know what I mean. Someone took several royal members but didn’t demand a ransom or anything. It doesn’t add up.”

“It does if that wasn’t what their motive was,” muttered J’onn.

Kara stared at J’onn baffled.

“What do you mean?”

J’onn looked at her hesitantly and said, “I think someone wanted you to find them.”

“What!”

“No, just think about it. They appeared suddenly right as you passed by within your line of sight.”

Kara frowned and said, “Don’t you think that’s a reach?”

J’onn shook his head and said, “If it was just the video, then yes I would think it’s a reach. However, if you combine this with the USB drive that was with them that said instruction for care,….”

“It would seem to suggest they might have wanted me to take care of them,” murmured Kara.

She turned to Winn and asked, “How are things going with reading the files from the USB drive?”

“It is still processing. It is taking a little longer than I thought. I might have something by late tonight or early tomorrow morning at the latest.”

Kara turned to J’onn and asked, “Did Oa accept the request to send Green Lanterns to Nar to investigate?”

J’onn sighed and said, “That is another weird thing. When I made the request to Oa, they said that John Stewart led a team of Green Lanterns to Yona a couple of days ago to investigate a distress signal coming from the planet. Granted, this could be unrelated but…”

“It doesn’t look good,” Kara sighed.

“The Oans said that they would let us know when they hear back from John,” said J’onn.

“What are you going to tell the girls?” asked Winn.

Kara rubbed the back of her neck and said, “I honestly don’t know. I feel like I have more questions than answers.

J’onn patted Kara on the back and said, “I know it is disconcerting, but we will figure this out.”

Kara gave him a slight smile and said, “I know. We always do. I just wish I had more information to give the girls.”

She looked at the time and sighed.

“I am going to go home. Lena is watching all three of them by herself. I hope she isn’t too overwhelmed.”

“We’ll let you know if more information comes to light,” said J’onn.

Kara waved goodbye to J’onn and Winn and flew off.

As she headed home, she wondered about the situation she got into.

Why me? Was it a quality that they randomly chose? Did they know I am Supergirl?

She pondered these things as she continued on her journey home.

Lena was taking a video of the girls playing.

I am happy to see them enjoying themselves despite everything.

Then she heard a poof sound and noticed that Violet and Rose turned back to kittens and had stopped moving. Worried, Lena ran over to them.

“Rose! Violet! Are you okay?” she said as she bent over the still kittens.

She picked them up in her arms and held them to her chest. She could still feel them still breathing. She breathed a sigh of relief.

Marigold tapped Lena. She turned around and saw Marigold giving her a quizzical look.

“Why do you look so scared?”

Lena didn’t want to worry her and tried to put on a forced smile.

“I’m not scared. I am just wondering why your sisters poofed is all.”

Marigold laughed and said, “Oh! Rose and Violet sometimes overuse their energy during the hunt which causes them to instantly turn back to their original form to rest.”

Lena relaxed more. She had forgotten that the kittens explained this earlier to her. However, something still seemed off to her.

Lena frowned and said, “You seemed to be doing the same levels of activities as Rose and Violet though and you are wide awake still.”

Marigold beamed and said, “I am able to control my energy levels more than them.”

Lena smiled and said, “That is amazing dear.”

She looked back down at the sleeping kittens and petted them softly. She turned back to Marigold and said, “Let’s go back to the apartment. I’ll get dinner ready for us.”

“Yay!” squealed Marigold.

Lena picked her up and took them back to the penthouse.

If you’ve been following my liveblog of Thundercats 2011, you probably noticed me quoting Bad Blood lyrics every time an episode deals with Panthro and Grune. This was 100% inspired by @ladyloveandjustice’s Yona of the Dawn amv, so now that I’ve reached the end of that storyline, I decided to take it to its logical conclusion.

Sidenote: Neither of us were able to identify a source for this particular edit of the song - it’s sped up slightly and pitched down in places to sound like a duet - so if you’ve got a lead, please share!

on writing, 26-07 (on the road)

I've been on the road for 7 days. We rent a minivan and we decided to drive around Iceland. I've sharing the space with 4 friends, so the times I've had to write are scarce. I've managed to put pen into paper while we drive bumpy roads and amazing landscapes.

Because the craft has been limited, I'm enjoying Yona again while we drive, and I'm also reading a book by a friend and having a lot of fun with it. 7 days without speaking, writing or talking English at all makes this post feel somehow rigid.

But I've had time to think, and that might be the most important thing for my writing. I need time to slow down and truly think about the direction of the craft, what I want to do in the end.

I've decided, resolutely, to leave Twitter by the end of Rotten Judgement. I don't like the negative energy of some accounts that even if I didn't follow, I would see anyway. I don't like the discourse. I don't care about the fics they hype up in there. I care about giving underrated fics a go. I don't like messiahs. I couldn't care less about the fics with the most kudos and views. I am not ashamed to say that I read for a living, so I am very picky in my readings, and even in fanfiction, I like to read good things. The best reads, the ones that should be hyped, aren't the most talked ones.

I don't like how fandom deals with authority. I don't like that we preach about some authors and actively hate others. I don't like seeing friends whom I have talked the most being harassed for the minimum thing they write on Twitter (which doesn't represent the whole of their personality) or what they write. I believe Twitter is not the place for me, as someone who wants to have a deeper relationship with the fandom and with the writing. Everything is so superficial, everything is fake.

I also decided that because I want to work on more AOT fanfiction that doesn't involve Eremika. I still want to write my Eremika backpackers AU, but most of all, I'm dying to write more erejeankasa, jeankasa, and rivamika. And I can't write those if I am on twitter because debate is sterile. I don't want to subject myself to see hateful comments or be cancelled and that affecting my writing. As I am vulnerable to all of that, but I want to still have my space to write if I want, I need to be in an environment that is not hateful for me.

I don't know how long I will be in this fandom. I need to feel free while I do. I still can feel it dying down, I am not reading fics anymore (less of all EM ones). I want to purely write. My next work will probably still be EM since the backpackers au is playing with my head (I have full convos on my mind I can't wait to put on paper!), and then I was thinking of writing my Arumika one (although part of me wants to turn it into Rivamika...?). Those two will be short, I'm guessing. I am done with long, multichap fics.

I want to work on my novel, too, so I think it's fitting that I might be writing less.

Those are my thoughts for now. Maybe I'll edit this as the trip progresses, who knows.

1) What is your absolute all-time favorite idea you've ever had? You know what, I’d say that my first ever writing idea is my favorite. Mostly because it got me into writing, also because it was hilarious. I wanted to write some crime/high fantasy. It was about some elvish captain riding a pegasus, being framed for murder god knows why. It never made any sense. Comedy gold.

2) Is there a question you've been asked in the past that really stands out to you and you still think about sometimes? Not really. Instead, I’m gonna recommend Akatsuki no Yona manga because I can.

3) What is your favorite part of being a writer? What parts could you take or leave? Worldbuilding is my favorite, I love it so much. Maybe a little too much. I hate editing though, I could live without that. Funnily enough, it used to be one of my favorite parts.

4) What is your greatest motivation to write/create? I just want someone feel something. Vague, but that’s it, that’s enough.

5) What is the best piece of advice you've ever read or been given as a writer? That there’s audience for your story one. It’s being infinitely repeated but I still need to hear it, haha...

6) What do you wish you knew when you were first starting out writing? That I should organize my worldbuilding notes. They’re such a mess.

7) What is your favorite story you've written TO COMPLETION? Link it if you'd like and can! I have one super cheesy short story about general getting back from war to his lover, king. It’s cute, it has a little bit of action. Nothing special but very comforting.

8) What is your favorite out-of-the-box quote? I remember I had some and I swear, I’ve written them down somewhere but where??

9) Which of your characters would you say has the most controversial mindset? Why do you say so and how do you personally feel about their ideals? From the presented in intros? Xueshu, probably. Not that he’s very controversial, I still didn’t share my weirdest weirdos and I won’t, for now. Anyway, Xueshu’s really stubborn and full of himself, so he has some... ideas. I wouldn’t like to meet him irl.

10) If You when you first started writing met You now, what would younger you think? They’d love it. All of it. I think they would be so excited to explore it, I’m kinda jealous
