Writeblr re-intro

Hey! So it has been ages since I was last active here on Tumblr, I generally just come on and off like some sort of internet cryptid you only see once every blue moon. But! Hopefully I’m here to stay this time around, so I figured I’d start again from the very beginning with a new writeblr intro!

Deck of Cards — 🂱 — dark urban fantasy, tarot, ghosts, apocalypses

Preservation lies in balance. The world can only continue to exist if maintained in the fragile equilibrium between magic and nature. But balance is an illusion and magic prevails our hearts. We are irresistibly drawn to the cards that threaten to destroy our world. We can only try maintain to the status quo to avoid complete and utter annihilation. But magic is a wicked thing and the game it plays is one of deceit and ruthlessness.

"Sleep is a deception, sleep is corruption," the speakers in Town chant. Alecto remembers the fatigue, the viciousness of its bite. It lurked at the edges of her consciousness, awaiting a moment of weakness. She remembers how it would taunt her, weighting on her mind and eyelids, never quite allowing her the relief of sleep. But the Great Deep Dark is gone now, they made sure of that.

"Slumber no more, sleep has be canceled." the speakers sing.

At night, eyes remain wild and open, awake.

The Great Exhaustion has begun.

A lil poker from my 6x13 undercover smut spec fic...

Sat opposite the dealer, he's been given a decent position, with enough players to his right that he doesn't have to stump up either of the blinds for the opening round.

Under the low lamps their stacks of chips shine, smooth faces glinting back in ordered rows of whites and blues, blacks and greens, reds and maroons. By the dealer, three pristine decks lay, their boxes still sealed.

Despite Bucks seemingly woeful maths skill, and his own middling set, he knows this isn't some low ball game. Not with the six individual towers of black, purple, and maroon at each seat piled so high Eddie’s sure he just caught Buck’s eyes bug slightly.

This isn't just a game for the love of the stakes, the adrenaline of bluffing through your teeth and pushing those around you to bet higher, burn brighter… or burn out.

This is business.

Hey all! Just wanted to give everyone a bit of a content update.

I apologize for the lack of content for the past… year. I’ve been working through some stuff, and it’s been hard for me to find the motivation or inspiration to write. It comes in short bursts, meaning I’ve been (very) slowly chipping away at multiple projects at once. I just thought I’d update everyone on how things are going and make a list (partly for myself) of what I have in the works, what still needs to be done, and what you can expect from me in the future. Admittedly these are mostly obey me fics but I DO have other things tumbling about in my brain, I promise.

Opposite Day: 2/5 chapters finished, the rest 100% planned and around 30-40% written.

I’ve been sitting on an unfinished chapter 3 for almost a year now, and have written good portions of the other chapters in the meantime. This is the project I’m most excited to finish, and I feel bad for abandoning it for so long. Rest assured, I *am* still working on it, and am extremely happy it’s been so well received.

Untitled Simeon Comfort Fic: 75% finished.

Originally I wanted this written for his birthday (which was in February lmao) but as you can see that did not happen. I’ve got the beginning and end all written out, I sort of went off the script at the end with fun purgatory hall family fluff so the only thing I don’t have written is… actually the eating part. This will probably be the first fic I actually post, seeing as it’s the closest to completion.

“A series of Obey Me Vore Headcanons” Re-Write (Title Very WIP) 2.5/7 chapters re-written

This one I don’t think I’ve mentioned on here yet. I’ve grown increasingly unsatisfied with my original obey me headcanons list that I posted last year when I first got into the fandom. A. Because I hadn’t gotten very far into the story when I wrote it and didn’t get the full scope of the characters yet and B. (Most importantly) I feel like I really didn’t do the characters justice.

Since I originally posted it, there’s been a healthy amount of discussion on depth and nuance in vore media and reducing characters to tropes, etc. I’d like to re-write this series to focus less on physical aspects and “how they eat you” but rather more of an emotional and story driven story of why they eat you and their emotions and struggles that come with it. The obey me brothers are incredibly interesting characters, and I’d like to explore them in more depth and show you how interesting they can really be and why I love them so much.

This one might take a while to complete, but it’s gonna happen at some point. I‘ll keep up the original half-finished version in the meantime since I don’t want to delete it and ao3 doesn’t allow privating fics without orphaning them. I know it’s ugly in it’s current state, just know I’m working on it and the rest of those chapters will be overhauled eventually.

“Miss Em”: 80% written (kind of)

I’ve had this one sitting in my drafts for a while now. Originally I had plans to start another multi-chapter series but then Opposite Day sort of went to shit so I scrapped it knowing it was way too ambitious. But now I still have a mostly written Mammon fic in my notes app just sitting there and it would be a shame to just…leave it. I’m not sure what I’m gonna do with this one, Maybe I’ll write the Beel companion piece to it that I had planned and just leave it as a 2-parter. Who knows. It’s really cute, and I want to share it at some point.

Untitled Obey Me mini-drabbles: 60% written

Honestly this wasn’t supposed to be a whole thing. I started randomly writing one day on a burst of inspiration and it turned into little mini “scenario slices” for all the characters and I really like how it turned out. I still need to write for two of the characters and polish up some others, but it’s a fun low-stress thing to work on in between projects. Also excited to share it possibly soon since they’re fairly short and shouldn’t take long to finish (but you know me…)

An unspecified ITWOM fanfic: 0% written, 50% planned

For those who aren’t familiar, “In the World of Monsters” is an amazing novel authored by @vore-toast that just recently received a fantastic ending and epilogue (Please read it! It’s fantastic!) And I really would like to write a little something for it to show my appreciation. I have an idea planned out, but details would involve spoilers so I can’t say much. I’d need to ask for guidance on what exactly to include since the things I would like to write about haven’t exactly *happened yet* but I’ve said too much already… hee hee. I don’t know when this fic is gonna happen, but I swear to you it will. And if my original idea doesn’t work out, it’ll be something. I WILL be writing for this series, mark my words.

Huh? That’s weird... That one’s not supposed to be there. Ah well, It’s not relevant anyway. Carry on.

SO what if Steve actually painted the work meant to draw in his bride hundreds of years ago, and while he waited--and waited and waited--he became more bitter and tortured and stopped painting beautiful things. He didn't care anymore...

...to the point of being the only artist willing to look upon Red Skull's real face and paint him in the 1940s ::big squee:: tossing in that history lol...

...until finally, you see the painting and are properly drawn in as his bride. You have to find the true Steve beneath all that anger and loneliness while he slowly remembers why he wanted love in the first place.

okay, now that i’m no longer sick of looking at it, i’m going to go back through my old lupin hanafuda designs and fix it up. if i actually manage to get through it all, i might even get it printed on proper cardstock and try playing with it!

INTENSE • Metamorphosis

As transformation can be sure to differ and vary from person to person based on their circumstances, mindset & experiences, there are also common occurrences during this process of metamorphosis as well. Many of these periods can seem intense, letting go of familiar routines, environments, or relationships can be emotionally challenging. Especially when forced to release it all at once. It can seem as though you are navigating a “Dark night of the soul”, and not sure where to turn. When we venture into uncharted territory, fear and anxiety pertaining to the future can arise. It can bring up insecurities, causing you to question your abilities and worthiness of achieving new goals or adapting to new circumstances. Navigating these intensities of transformation requires support systems, coping strategies, and a strong belief in the importance and potential benefits of change within self, to begin with. Identify what you want to change or achieve and set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound goals. Reflect on your values, beliefs, and what you truly want regularly, to assure you’re aligning with your authentic self. Practice stress reduction and grounding techniques to maintain your mental health, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Acknowledge and celebrate progress to help maintain motivation and momentum. Meaningful change takes time and it will not always feel so intense, so stay committed even when progress seems slow. Rather than fearing the uncertainty and unknowns, try to see it as an opportunity for learning. Don’t be discouraged by setbacks, look at them as chances to strengthen your resolve. Throughout this metamorphosis, remain authentic to who you are and who you aspire to be. Your unique qualities are your greatest strengths. On this deeply personal journey, stay grounded and remember to give yourself grace to navigate this map in your own way, at your own pace. There is no rush.

[video description: recording of a work & turn feed in a Chandler & Price clamshell-action letterpress machine. The press opens and closes on a hinge; every time it closes it impresses inked, relief type onto the sheet, and when it opens one sheet is removed from the registration pins by hand and replaced with an unprinted sheet. On a work & turn feed, the registration pins are set up so that the image can be printed twice on a double-sized sheet, once with the sheet fed in one direction and then again with the sheet fed to the opposite edge. after printing, the sheet is trimmed in half to separate the two copies. end description.]

doing a lot of work & turn for this project :)) i like em, they’re a nice, calm feeding rhythm. mostly they’re good for printing something with tight margins where you need pin space, without wasting a whole chunk of paper down at the bottom.
