look I don't mean to be dramatic but my cat waking me up at 4:30am because he's lonely and not being able to properly relax and fall asleep unless I am sitting next to him is fucking everything to me

#he is soo stressed and so high strung #today was fucking rough bc he figured out how to regularly wiggle out of his cone and has started biting at his stitches #and nobody was home to help him bc i had to work and my parents went to the casink #(*casino) #and christ. my god i cannot go one single second without thinking about him #i loved him before but there is something about gently putting an ice pack on a wiggling cat who dozes off the instant you kiss his forehead #oughhhghh i have cat disease. yeah its uncurable!!! #we found a bobblehead baby in the garbage and i tricked my mom into keeping him in my room cause it was quieter #and now he can't sleep with his hurt nakey leg unless i am within eye sight #my phone is about to die and my leg is asleep and he kicked SO much litter onto the carpet #and i am so in love. my little boy :( #the way he sinks his damn claws into my collar bone to try and make biscuits out of me and the way he bites me when i move too fast #not out of meanness or funness but a secret third thing (Get Over Here instinct) #the way he plays with his toys by holding them in both of his hands and licking and kicking them completely stationary #the way he stretches out to be all pretty when i get home from work and then scarfs down food like a starved beast #the way he doesn't bury his piss like a freak #the way his teeth are too big for his damn mouth #the way he likes velvet and suede and soft smooth textures #every morning i wake up pissed because he woke me up again and every night i tell him its okay if he wakes me up again #i understand why good parents say its an honor to take care of their children #bc like. truly i am so lucky that i get to gently nurse this little boy back to health #and that he trusts me so much that he would not get better if i was not sitting next to him #fucking incredible #i hope one day in the future when we discover immortality we apply it to our pets first

people say folks with adhd struggle with "delayed rewards" aka long term goals and as such we tend to focus more on short term rewards. what they don't talk about is that at when we Do accomplish long term goals we don't actually feel anything proportionate to the amount of work we did to achieve it. In my head I suffered for a while and then money spontaneously appeared in my bank account.
