That could be an interpretation of it yeah :00 but to be totally honest, I haven't thought it all through yet..

The intention behind that comic is its showing that Eddie used to be a human. And now he's.. well. He's Eddie.

The comic was trying to show that there was someone he used to know when he was human. His sister? His mother? Someone.. He knew someone. And now that he's in the neighborhood.. she's gone. What happened to her? Who was she? Why do I miss her so much?.. Why.. am I crying? Why am I shaking?

I think the 3 of them are no strangers to bloody scenes, but that wouldn't make seeing their Octokids so hurt any easier.. <:(( Now I'm not much of a writer, and idk if this is the kind of response you were expecting.. but none the less you have inspired me! :}}

I can see them offering their services if needed, but mostly just staying out of Peso's way and letting him do his thing. when everything winds down and they're able to see each other.. it would be tough. :((

Kwazii would be in high spirits as always despite the injuries. He would proudly tell Calico Jack about how he was bravely able to fend off multiple sharks! He expected a lot of enthusiasm from his Grandad.. "..Y-Ye did great Kwazii, ye protected yer crew well. I'm real proud of ya for that.." Instead he got a more.. somber response.

With the time Kwazii has spent with the Octonauts, he's gotten a lot better at reading people. Its not hard to tell when someone is shaken. His ears are pinned back, his tail is puffed up and flicking back and fourth.. its clear that Jack isn't taking this sight well.

Kwazii would probably sit up straighter. "Hey,, Grandad I'm.. I'm alright, ye don't need to worry." He'd gently grab Jacks arm, getting his attention. "I'll be alright, this isn't a big deal! Really, I'm ok! It looks a lot worse than it actually is."

Jack might take a deep breath and nod "..I know. I know you'll be alright, lad.." His ears were still pinned back. Kwazii frowns. "..I'm alright now Grandad. This is small, trust me.." Jack would pause.. but then nod. Seeing Kwazii so beaten is hard for Jack to stomach. But Kwazii is one tough cookie.. Just like him. He knows that things will be ok. Kwazii will be ok.. They're both ok..

When Marsh came in to see Tweak, he almost lost his composure. He knows Tweak is tough. And she's gotten hurt a lot growin up, this ain't nothin she cant handle. But gosh, this hurts. That's his little girl. It hurts so much to see her like this. She's collapsed in medbay, and has her leg all bound up in a cast.

"Pa! Heh, uh- sorry about all this. You an I were supposed to go out swimmin after that mission. I guess uh.. it'll have to wait.. heh.."

A deep breath, "Now don't chu worry bout none of that," He sat down beside her bed and pat her on the shoulder. "You just put all yer energy into gettin better. Ok? We can always go see the reef another time." His droopy ears and shaky voice wasn't helping his tough façade..

Tweaks pauses for a moment. But then offers her hand to Marsh. He takes it, confused at first.

"..I'm sorry I scared you pa.. I'll be ok.."

...Unable to reply, Marsh just nods. He sighs and wipes his tears away. Gripping Tweaks hand tighter. He sniffles, and just nods..

Natquik's meeting with Barnacles went a little smoother than the others. He is no stranger to the sight of blood. And knowing that Barnacles is tough as nails, he wasn't too worried about him.. but still. Seeing Barnacles in such a state.. it wasn't easy.

When Natquik came in, he placed a gentle paw on the bears shoulder. "Barnacles, how do you feel? Are your wounds bad..?" Barnacles' voice was gravelly and slow. He had a nasty headache after that facial injury.. "..Oh.. I'll be alright.. its nothing I.. cant recover from.."

Natquik pulls up a stool and sits beside him. "You gave me a big scare, you know. You must not do that to me! No more dangerous missions for you!" He said wagging his finger.

Barnacles chuckled. "That wasn't meant to.. be a dangerous mission. Things just.. got out of hand." Natquik nods. "Yes yes, I can see.." His tone seemed off at the end there..

"..Are you alright, Professor?" It takes Natquik a second to respond.. Seeming to think over his words. "Don't worry for me, Barnacles. I am better now that I have seen you. And you will heal fine, yes? So all is ok." His hesitation wasn't reassuring.. But he knows how Natquik is. So doesn't push it further. "Yes, despite the scene we caused.. most of these injuries are minor. We'll be.. alright." Natquik puts on a smile that cant truly be read. "That is all that matters, my friend."

2077, November

"Heeey... All good? What're you doing out here, so early?"

"Couldn't sleep... Wanted to watch the sun rise."

"Well, here I am!"

2077 was a hell of a year. It left its marks, mental and physical, trauma and scars alike, memories and lack thereof. A year ago Vince was working at Arasaka, desperate to stay in the corporate world despite it slowly destroying him from the inside out. A year later Arasaka is only a shadow of it former self - and in a way Vince felt like a shadow, too.

Six months had been Alt's prognosis, at most... then he'd die. For good this time. Vince knew the drill. But he also knew he would try everything in his power, utilize all means possible and necessary... Because yes, 2077 had been one hell of a year, of loss, despair, betrayal and pain... But also of hope, trust, friendship and love, and connections, however unlikely they may have seemed.

The road ahead is still long, and it will be far from easy. But he is at peace knowing he won't be walking it alone.

Vince through the years (9/9)

Aaand the series is complete! ;A; Ending it on a somewhat bittersweet note with a few of more pictures this time cause look at them looking at each other ;___;

Vince has always been a deeply lonely person trying to find his place and purpose - as you'll surely have gathered reading along this far. By 2077 he finally finds his people, real friends in the most unlikely places, that he cares about and that care about him. And after how badly his previous relationship with his Arasaka-coworker Shou ended, he wouldn't have expected to get another shot at love, too. I definitely feel like he found a soulmate in Kerry, very scared in the beginning that his feelings for him were only brought on because of Johnny, and should he get rid of Johnny he'd also lose the connection to Kerry. He didn't though, thankfully. Vice versa, Kerry found someone who really understands his loneliness and struggles and takes them seriously. They really match very well on many levels and bring out the best in the other (on most days at least :P), something I neither planned for nor expected, and probably why I'm so obsessed with them at the moment XD They really are each other's sun, driving away shadows and doubts, a light in the darkness.

But yeah, Vince has a lot to lose really, and together with Kerry and everyone else they try and find a way to solve the Relic-problem so now that he found his place and people he can stay with them, live the balance of quiet and exciting life he deserves and always wished for.

The scars I gave him here (and damn, it hurt me to make them 😭) are not 100% canon yet... I'm gonna explore and explain what they are and how he got them in my post-ending fic soon-ish.

But yeah... V gets his happily ever after with his loved ones, in one way or another, and CDPR can take my headcanons from my cold dead hands xDD No but really, I get it. In a world like Cyberpunk there's no such thing as a sunshine-and-rainbows happy ending with world peace and all... and even mine is gonna come at a certain cost. But if anyone, V deserves some peace and love after that shitshow :D

That being said:

Before and after! The scars are drawn on, and I used the relief layer effect in Photohsop to give them some dimension. Was really a matter of playing around with colors and layer modes to make them somewhat convincing looking, but I'm really liking the result a lot!

Once again it gets me how different Vince looks without his iconic hair and makeup 😭 Believe me, he had a really really hard time when he was told "we gotta shave your head for this procedure" cause throughout his life his hair has been a really important part of his self-expression. From dyeing it blond as a teen to rebel against his parents, to going completely wild afterwards, conforming to Arasaka, then slowly finding himself again... With everything gone he felt like yet another part of him was gone and yeah... wasn't a good time, that time in late 2077.

If you've read along all the way: thanks so much!! I hope you enjoyed this series as much as I enjoyed creating it and sharing a bit more about Vince's background and how he became who he is. When I'm done writing my post-ending fic I might go back to writing and sharing his background story fic, detailing everything from this series a bit more, and you'll get to know some of the people I only mentioned in passing (his mother, his first real boyfriend, his coworkers, etc.) a bit better, too.

Considering the amount ask of cuddling and calling macaque cute I’m going to balance it all out by saying I always wanted to throw a flash bang at Macaque then throw more like it would hurt If you know what a flash bang does maybe add white phosphorus to the mix. I this is a very Christian view demons (because in christianity demons are the embodiment of literally everything wrong with humanity) hearing Wukong peace treaty I would just say “well, still going to kill them you can’t just eat baby’s then can for half time when I can kick your ass.”

Speaking of unnecessarily being an asshole, how Erlang?

(I know Erlang can’ burn down the flower fruit mountain right after the fight because plot and symbolism but it just makes more sense then Erlang burning the mountain like 500 years after the fight. But who I’m I to say because still can’t understand the structure structure of the world of JTTW like all I see is a Beyblade.)

in buddhist and daoist cosmology, demons are just a type of being, just like animals are. you can reincarnate as them depending on your karmic debt, or you can become one depending on how you cultivate and your deeds in life. holding them as inherently evil is the same as saying all wolves are evil.

it's completely fair to defend yourself if demons start attacking people, but to hunt them down just for shits and giggles isn't good of you either!

and HEVHWBDHBS why you gotta do my boy like that?? xDD Erlang isnt unnecessarily evil either! we might not understand or sympathize with some cultural values and laws of the place and time, but let's avoid assigning too many labels for the sake of respect, yeah? /srs

mmm im confused by what you mean? Erlang did burn down FFM in jttw very close after the fight with Wukong was over, killing half of the mountain's monkey population. yes, we can consider this harsh because it is, but there is the cultural context that at the time this was set, patricide and regicide was two of the highest crime one could commit, and Wukong did try to dethrone the Jade Emperor. thats attempted regicide. if you were convicted of either, youd be executed and as added measure, a lot more people would too!

to quote two passages from Oedipal God's chapters on filial piety:

harsh punishment for a harsh crime.

Erlang burning the mountain but allowing half of the population to survive was a mercy, since technically he could have reasonably razed the whole place to nothing. Wukong even thanks him for his mercy in jttw!

all that said, in this au Wukong and Erlang still are sworn brothers and truth be told, they get along quite alright! im not yet sure if i'll make the Lotus Lantern story fit into it (i think Chenxiang and MK would get along like peas in a pod whdbhwbdj) but we'll see.

[I'm semi active here lmao, just tryna be active here too and I'm too lazy to type things over so yeet]

So one day I was feeling like drawing/writing something angsty, so here we are

Fanart for @soundbluster-arts hope ya like it :D

The arrows got a meaning, can you guess what it is by the colours?

Okay I tell you, they represent the symbiotes that Soundy had lost and the emotional impact it had on him

I feel like Laserbeak's might've impacted a bit more which is why his arrow is bigger than the rest

I didn't dare to guess who else Soundy might've lost, so I only relied on the very old Soundwave and Ravage asks where this topic was in (I think they were one of the first ones? Flashbox literally interviewing them back then xD)

I gotta admit tho when I first time read those asks, I looked at Garboil and was like "who are you?" And for some reason kept mixing them up with either Slugfest or Overkill, like I was very confused when I tried to compare (the Soundwave ask post's Garboil and the reference sheet) who is who pretty much IGNORING the names (or thinking there might've been a "mistake", don't know which) lmao until now during the research did I understood that Garboil was de bird, DE BIRD XDD

But yea, in case you don't recognise the colour palettes, it's Laserbeak, Wingthing, Garboil and Buzzsaw (I had a little struggle choosing the palette for Wingthing as in don't know if I go with yellow, reddish brown or dark grey but ultimately decided to go with yellow despite it being kind of a highlight more than dominant colour)

This was also the first time I drew Soundwave in full body and I'm damn happy with it and this whole piece in general, I think I struggled with the legs tho xD and I also didn't know what to do with his right hand so now it's just kinda not really grabbing the arrow but just being there

Anyway, I should stop rambling before this gets too long xD guess I got a lot to talk about

I have watched Pray Don't Be Fickle far too many times than is normal (thanks @personinthepalace for sharing the whole scene lol) and I simply cannot get over how incredible Jonathan's voice is- like, the tone of his voice?? so crisp and clear it's amazing

(also, I love rewatching it and watching everyone reacting to him lol)

the fact that it's Harry who first summons him and names him Reverend Jon

Nancy suggesting a silly summoning spell to give Jonathan time to get on stage

the musicians in the background looking at Jon, waiting for him to cue them

Nancy double checking that he's coming and Harry trying not to break as he watches Jon walk on

ok no but hold on, the pure delight on Nancy's face when she realises that Jon's actually going to get on there and sing is so wonderful and lowkey kinda heartwarming?? idk, she's just so hyped for this moment y'all, it's hard not to get swept up in the excitement ya dig?? lol

listen, I know Nancy literally gestured for him to be centre stage, but that still doesn't explain why he starts this song kneeling pfffff- fr who knows, but it's a bloody power move if I ever did see one

speaking of brilliant moves, shoutout to Charlie for inviting everyone in the cast on the stage to be a part of this iconic moment 😌

Oscar: Uhh. My children, I must say, I'm disappointed that tonight is the only show my parents are watching.

I'm sorry but even from that very first line "When you've been turned" his tone is so crisp and so strong my god

also, I can't tell if rhyming 'jarred' with an alternate pronunciation of 'prepared' (i.e. 'preparred') is lazy or lazy enough to be genius XD

I adore Lauren and Nancy's all the little interjections in the first few lines and Jon including them in the song XD

Jon: When you've been turned into something jarred Lauren: Sing it, Reverend! Jon: You must be prepared, be preparred Nancy: It's just you! Jon: It's just me it's a solo, that's unfortunate Nancy (literally just as Jonathan has goe up to the two Henrys and Shields looks like he's about to help him lol): Don't try and pass it, Jon! Jon: But do not worry, things are gonna turn out great!

the knowing laugh of the audience when Jonathan sings "Pray, don't be fickle..." (because how else are you gonna rhyme 'pickle' ya dig?? XD)

but fr tho, Jono vocally popped off on the chorus!!!!!!!

also can we spare a moment to appreciate the way he physically embraces this song?? he's not dancing, but he absolutely nails the 'possessed by the music' acting direction of the scene and I friggin love it!!!!!

(the man is surprisingly light on his feet I would love to see him tap - Charlie says he was a great tap dancer back in their LAMDA days lol)

gotta love the musicians changing the rhythm of the song on him - to be fair, they are keeping in the gospel style of shifting the rhythm lol

and in true improv style, Jono incorporating that into the song XD

Honestly I have no hope. I'm thinking its gonna bomb like the Ruin DLC did, lore wise. Calling it now there's gonna be a character named VANESSA and her nickname is VANNY even though this movie is about the first game and has NOTHING TO DO WITH VANESSA. There's gonna be a kid named Cassidy, another kid named Gregory, circus baby is gonna come out of nowhere, there's gonna be a nightmare animatronic reference, one kid is gonna look like the crying child for no reason, Springtrap is gonna talk a lot and take away the horror- its gonna be a mess. The lore will be a terrible. mess.

Horror wise it might be awesome but I am NOT looking forward to all the crap they're gonna mix in with the lore. Its soooo simple, just make a spooky movie that captures the terror that the first game created. Recreate the mystery and horror. Bonnie disappearing, Foxy running down the hall. Freddy's music. Maybe Golden Freddy?? Hints of a darker past with dead kids. It would be awesome. They don't gotta complicate the lore by adding all the other games into it but I know they will-

Monty is much more mellow and kind in the Partial swap. Although he still can be a bit of a grump sometimes. The way Bonnie is treating everyone (mostly Foxy) really angers/upsets him.

Roxy hasn't changed a whole lot tbh. Full of grief and self loathing. Except I don't think she'd have this "I'm better than you" attitude. Her thinking that Freddy's death was her fault would crush her. Just like Monty was crushed in the OG au.

I was thinking he would do 1 of 2 things.

Either this bombshell that his late friends of 10 years are alive, would be so emotionally overwhelming that he would completely shut down. Literally. They would break into his room and Bonnie is collapsed on the floor. And cannot be reactivated. And when he does eventually reactivate, he absolutely refuses to acknowledge or speak to anyone in anyway..

OR, hearing that Chica and Freddy are alive, would completely drown out any other feeling. They're alive, he would rush out of his room to go see them. All of his stress, all of his anger would be swept away in favor of his anxiousness to see his friends again. And finally, he would talk to people again somewhat. Every day would get easier knowing that once its over he can go see Freddy and Chica again.

Rufus 'RJ' Junior Firefly x Reader || Excerpt

Plot: You try in vein to persuade your boyfriend to stay in with you Halloween morning.

Warnings: 😏 Thirst? No actual smut though.

*@marinerainbow !! I had to write this in responce to your asks XDD Turns out I'm too tired tonight to come up with my own thoughts?? ☠ So I built on one of yours 😅 I hope you like it! ^^ Consider this a late Christmas present? XD 😅

When you wake up, drool under your face damp on the pillow from last night getting fucked into it til you were just braindead, eyes fluttering open to see an empty bed beside you, you immediately fly up into a sitting position. Through sleepy, blurry eyes, you peer around the room, and find Rufus at the end of the bed lacing up his boots. "Oh no no- " You start, mouth tasting like sleep and limbs beyond tired, but pushing yourself forward anyway; crawling over to him and resting your forehead against his bare back. "no, no- where are you going??" This early?? Why is he leaving you this earlyyyyy...

"Gotta tow the car." He just says, straightening up. Cracking your eyes open, your lashes brushing against his skin, you carefully trace a soft, nasty-looking scar cut into his back. When he doesn't move immediately to get up and just leave you, you take the opportunity to wrap your arms around his thick chest and nose over his shoulder blade until you find where you fit curled up against him; your nose settling now on his shoulder and your lips on his skin this time.

"... stay... I'll make it worth your while!~ "

... He doesn't say anything, to this. Thats okay, you know he knows your word is good. And your man isn't a huge talker, anyway.

Sighing, you turn your head and rest your cheek against his back, closing your eyes again. He's warrrm. You feel like falling right back to sleep.

...-but you cant!! You think, jolting yourself awake again. You know, as soon as you fall back to sleep, he's just going to leave and help his stupid siblings. And- why should they always get first dibs?? He's your boyfriend!

Like a cat, you crawl around him and settle yourself carefully in his lap; resting your tired arms over his broad shoulders and leaning your head back in order to see his eyes. His dark, calculated eyes you're obsessed with- you feel like he just knows everything about everyone. About everything. You wanna worship him.

And you have. And you will, again.

"Come on... what do I have to do to keep you here in bed with me today? Not all day, I know this is a Big Day for y'all, but just... a couple more hours. Just a sleep in." Incapable of helping yourself, you lean in and initiate a slow, dirty kiss; just the way he likes it. Just the way you like it, too. Heated and indecent. Amid the kiss, or mini make-out, Rufus manages to not pull you in closer. Not get hard. Not give in to your wiles. He kisses you back, and you know he likes it by the way he kisses you back just as heated and indecent, but you're not changing his mind. So when you pull back, you pout at him. "-Really??"

"Really." He grunts, then picks you up effortlessly and dumps you back on your shared bed; getting up and grabbing a random old shirt off the back of a chair.

"Oh- then- I'll come with you!" You finally give in, fumbling off the bed and looking around with still-blurry eyes, head heavy. And- oh, getting up was a mistake, your body doesn't like it at all. Brain is leaving you on your own and going back to sleep. "Gotta just- " Yawn. "Gotta- um- brush my shoes. Put on my teeth. Where's the, uh- the bathroom?"

Rufus looks at you levelly, his eyes dark and his expression unreadable- but stern. Strong. Intense. God, you love how he looks at you. "Get back in bed."

"No, I- hey!" Before you can even take a step towards where you think the bathroom must be, Rufus picks you right up off of the floor; throwing you over his broad shoulder and, with his big hand on your ass, takes you right back to bed. When you're dropped back onto the mattress, on your back, you immediately try to get up and go again- pushing yourself up onto your elbows, but Rufus is giving you a look that makes you stop dead in your tracks. Makes you breathless. "... okay fine I'll go back to bed, then."

"Good."

"... but you have to gimmie a kiss goodbye."

For a moment a flicker of a grin ghosts over his face at your antics, but it goes away as quickly as it appeared. You don't mind so much, though, you call it one for the win column; grinning back before he offers you his hand to help pull you up for that deep half-naked goodbye kiss.

(putting his not-100%-polished or canon appearance here again cause I like having pics with my long posts XD)

Okay so... his name is Shou, like Vince he is half-Japanese, but he actually grew up and spent the majority of his life in Japan. He comes from a similar background as Vince, too, corpo-family with ties to Arasaka, excellent education, good grades, a little bit of an outsider even, but he never intermittently left the corpo world like Vince did. He got his entry-level position job at Arasaka fresh out of university and has been (outwardly) loyal and obedient ever since, rising in ranks in no time.

He's roughly 10 years older than Vince, and in 2074 gets transferred to Night City from Tokyo, to help with the expansion of the Counterintel department there. Technically he's on Jenkins' level, experience- and skill-wise, but since everything works a bit differently in Night City, for the time being he ends up a part of Jenkins' team on a level with Vince. It would've been Jenkins' duty to show Shou the ropes actually, but he delegates the task to good old Agent V instead, and that's how they first properly get to know and work with each other.

Let's just say, there is definitely an instant curiosity/interest and base-level of attraction from both sides XD Vince and Shou work well together, share a lot of common interests, have similar ambitious personalities, (both of them are a little bit of a dick, really), and inevitably they also spend a lot of time together. The one thing that Vince is most interested in though, that Shou always seems to avoid answering directly, is why he volunteered to come to Night City from Tokyo. Most people V knows that are striving to rise to the top would wish for it to be the other way around. Shou is always like "I wanted a change of scenery", "I wanted to broaden my horizon", "It looks good on my resume to be in the teamlead of this project" and so on, but none of that feels 100% genuine and so Vince keeps his walls up and tries to maintain a professional distance, despite really liking him otherwise. Emphasis on "tries", cause Shou is not making it easy for him either xD

Some time passes, Vince is still adamant about not wanting a relationship with a coworker (also because he is low-key worried if he lets someone into his life too closely, they might discover he's in contact with Jackie and leaking very classified company secrets to him now and then). But still, one evening Shou and him end up alone at a bar together and one thing leads to another...

Initially their relationship was definitely more on the hush-hush side, not because they were ashamed of it or anything, but because Vince didn't want to be blamed with treating Shou favorably over the others in his team because he was sleeping with him. As time went on though the others definitely caught on, and there was a little bit of drama and bad blood, but nothing they didn't know how to deal with. They had to make it official towards Jenkins and the head of the department at the time soon-ish after becoming a thing anyway though, to not run into problems on that side either, but it went surprisingly smooth. Vince actually was very very happy at the time and wouldn't have figured to ever find someone he'd click so well with that he started to imagine a long-lasting future together.

Long story short though... It never came to that. I mentioned in the lore post that their relationship ended abruptly and bitter, and yeah. Let's just say, Shou hadn't come to Night City for a change of scenery, but as part of an elaborate plan he'd been setting up for years to get out of Arasaka for good, make a bunch of money in the process, and disappear from the face of the earth. Fuck off to somewhere where they'd never be able to track him down, the Soviet Union or something like that. He hadn't planned on genuinely falling in love with Vince though.

Aware that Vince was (apparently) very loyal to Arasaka, he also knew it would need some effort to convince him to come along with him, leave everything behind for good and start over somewhere new. So, what's his idea here? Make it seem like Vince is leaking info to a competing corp by messing with his computer and files. He abused Vince's trust to basically force him to come with him, cause at the press of a button he'd be able to notify Jenkins of Vince’s “betrayal” and he would have no other choice but to run away. Vince figures this out accidentally, and just briefly before Shou can set him up in a way so that there would’ve been no turning back. Since Vince is *actually* leaking company info, just not to a corp but his best friend whose safety he’s now also extremely scared for, he kind of has to make a choice between “run away with the love of my life” and “run to Jenkins and tell him about the setup before Shou can go through with his plan”. And he ends up choosing Jenkins out of loyalty to Jackie.

Let’s just say… the ensuing chaos did not end well for neither Shou nor Vince, but at least Vince walks out of it somewhat alive. Shou never felt in the wrong btw (and really, he was not wrong to want to get himself and Vince out of Arasaka asap). He did what he did out of love, genuinely convinced it was the only thing and the right thing he could've done. Best, most loving intentions, worst possible execution.

(one day, when I have Vince in NPV format, be ready for gut-wrenching VP of all of this. I'M NOT OKAY ABOUT THEM. Also, imagine the very awkward convo with Kerry later on that starts with "So, I told you everything about Louise... now how did your last relationship end?")

But he has no intention of letting you go- especially not when your ex starts trying to get you back.

"Okayyy, haha. I've got to go, now," You grin, pulling away even as Marcus tries to follow you, and forcing a giggle at his playful actions before letting him go; Stepping back. "Breaks over, lover boy. Time to get back to work."

"Come on... "

"Don't 'come on', me... I'm coming over to your place after work!- you can wait til then!" Shaking your head at him with a gentle, perturbed grin on your face, you're about to step further away- when your phone suddenly dings. And as you pull it out of your pocket and take a look at the message, Marcus takes you by the hips and guides you back to him as he leans against the wall once again.

The next words uttered are from Marcus, and theirs a marginally more serious tone to his voice. Probably due to your sudden change in body language, getting stiffer, as you read the message. "Who's that?... " He asks quietly, thumbs brushing over the skin showing between your shirt and your jeans. You glance at him, heart racing suddenly, before swiftly pocketing the phone, and flashing a smile; But removing his hands from your body.

"Just a data alert." Yes, you feel bad for lying, but you aren't about to tell him that it was your ex boyfriend saying hi. That would be way too awkward.

What Marcus doesn't know, isn't going to hurt him.

Immediately that dumb, handsome smile returns to his face and you feel relief simmer in you. "Okay! So- you're definitely coming over tonight, right??"

You nod, quickly. "Definitely! Now, I gotta go take over for Garret! See ya!"

"Wait- " You'd already turned around to rush off... maybe to respond to that text you received, if your heart can calm down for a damn second... but Marcus' call makes you stop, turn around. He's now standing up straight, towering over you, and his arms wrap around your body once again; Pulling you up against his.

"Oh. Watch those hands, Marcus, remember we're at work~" You joke light-heartedly, at the advance, but your giggles are cut off abruptly when he kisses you. Its an oddly deep kiss, for the moment; His lips seeming to totally encompass you as he applies pressure, and you almost lose yourself in it. Almost getting dizzy, as you allow yourself to be deterred by him- afterall, that's why you're together. A good old romp to get your mind off a painful ex. A rebound.

The feeling of his hands drifting down a bit too far, though, wakes up. And you end the kiss- snatching up his wrists, and placing them back in front of him with playful wink. "What'd I say?"

Then you turn on his cheekily smirking face, and successfully walk off.

Marcus watches you turn the corner, before revealing your phone in his hand, which was hidden from your view as you had walked off, and switches it on as he leans back against the wall. Just chilling... snooping... Its fine. He had a pal in prison who did the exact same thing with his gal, and they're going strong 30 years, now. "Okay, Y/N... lets see what's really going on, here... "

When he sees the most recent message, not even opened yet, a disappointed frown immediately spreads across his face. He sighs. "Oh, Y/N... " Then, realising you did not start contact with your ex, on further inspection... Marcus' eyes narrow. A dangerously displeased, almost mad look appears in his eyes. "Oh, hell no."

Because he can talk to you. You're maybe having a bad day if you text your ex, and he can convince you that that's a bad idea.

But if its your ex texting you- that's a threat. Marcus has to do something about this.

He's not going to let you get swept away from him- he has a plan, see? Yeah, he agreed that what the two of you had would just be rebound fun... but that's just for now. You're going to fall for him; That's how it works. You two'll be regular romantic comedy material, he's sure. He's just got to convince you that this is right, then you're going to realise what he already knows, that you two are meant for each other, and rebound sex will turn into making love; He'll be your boyfriend, not just your Guy. And your husband, too, one day. He knows it'll work.

But this could destroy his chances entirely. This is a huge problem. He's got to get rid of this.

After getting to his place and returning your phone, convincing you that you must have accidentally shoved it in his pocket rather then yours seeing as you two were so wrapped up together- you and Marcus found yourselves in the kitchen... after fucking, that is. There's a tub of ice cream between you as you chat about your days, and Marcus is living. He cant help but think this is how it should be. You in his shirt, giggling at jokes he's made, eating ice cream after mind-blowing sex with him.

Him.

That should be every day!

And it will- as long as he can put you off your ex.

"Hm," He chuckles, loving the sound of your laughter when he throws a zinger at you... but, unfortunately, knowing he's gotta change tact soon, if he's going to make any headway today, with your whole... douchebag ex, situation. "So... when I realised I had your phone... I might have noticed something... "

Your spoon stops on its way to the ice cream, and its a dead give away that you're hiding something. Even though he knows what's going on, he hates that you haven't been honest with him. If you're going to be married some day, you're going to have to trust him. Every sturdy relationship is built on honesty, and trust. Oh, he'll teach you. "... Oh?... "

Feigning awkwardness, which is not hard at all because this is an awkward conversation, Marcus rolls his shoulders back before he starts. "Was that, um, your... ex? That texted you?"

Immediately, you droop. You leave your spoon in the ice cream tub, and avoid his gaze. Its cute. Sighing, you take a deep breath after a moment, and nod. "Yeah... it was." Good girl.

Marcus cant help but wonder whether you're nervous because he found out, though, or because this... guy... makes you nervous.

He wants to be the one making you nervous.

Faking a relaxed demeanour, though, Marcus shrugs; Focusing on the delicious treat between you. "What does that douchebag want?"

"Marcus!" You gasp, and his blood boils. What? He's not allowed to call your ex a douche? He left you!!

Ugh, he has to shut this down now.

"What? He hurt you, didn't he? 'M just being a good friend... Just a little... protective over you, you know? You don't deserve to be treated like that." And with him, you would never get hurt like that. God, why cant you just see that he's the right one for you? Why doe she have to jump through hoops?

Fuck, Y/N!

Marcus blood pressure is definitely rising as he works himself up, but he tries to stifle it; To shut it down. Because you look so fucking cute, blushing and embarrassed. "Yeah... I know." You speak softly, looking down at your lap. "I was just with him for long y-you know?? I just... he has me wrapped around his little finger, and I... I don't know... how to escape." You deflate like a sad balloon, pouting, and it takes everything in Marcus not to squeeze sense into you. He settles for taking one of your hands in his over the table; Being a comfort.

Oh... Y/N, you don't know anything about being wrapped around someone's finger. You've got him in a Chinese fucken finger trap. And you don't even know it!

"Hey," He pushes through the intrusive thoughts, thinking that you're such a bitch for saying these things to him, such a thoughtless, naïve, little bitch. Because he would never say those things to you, never. He loves you, and he would never want to make you feel sad... Even if you destroy him. "I get it. I do. But... its not forever, you know? I'm here to help you." He forces a kind smile, feeling it become real as you give one back; Optimism and warmth in your sweet, innocent face as you look up at him. Him! "And part of that, is not letting you text that asshole back."

"... You're sweet, Marcus."

A bashful grin flashes across his face. "You're sweeter."

Oh, that was such a sweet moment between us, Marcus thinks, grinning at you. That's what he craves.

Days full of cute moments like that between me, and my lovely little stay-at-home, mother-of-my-kids. My little, dumb wife.

A perfect life with her.

... Then you snort. "Haha- that was reeal cute, there. Lets try not to let it happen again, though, okay?" You giggle, visibly cringing as you return to the tub of ice cream, scraping out a nice mouthful of the creamy substance. Marcus feels his heart thud at it, though, and the grin is wiped clean off of his face.

... Stupid fucking bitch. What the hell was that!? That was foul. You really should get punished for something like that- you're just lucky you're not at that point, yet. When you're his, undoubtedly his... then... Well, then you'll just have to learn how to fucking behave.

For now though, Marcus pastes on a smile; Only squeezing your hand a little harder instead of telling you what for.

"Yeah, hah... Kinda dumb." He forces the words out, watching you grin and nod your head, sucking on the spoon. Rolling his shoulders once again to relieve the tension, Marcus moves on. "So... y'think you're gonna text that fucker back?"

Looking thoughtful for a moment, frowning as your eyes fall downcast and your teeth nibble on the end of the utensil between your teeth - honestly making Marcus a little hard at the sight, - , you honestly leave him hanging for a few moments... before you finally shrug. "I don't think so. You're right, he did hurt me, and... the easiest way to get over him, I guess, is to ignore him." Your eyes flicker up, wide and adorable, to his. "Right?"

"Totally."

When you smile, hop off the stool and onto his lap to finish the rest of the ice cream, Marcus smiles for real.

You're fucking perfect.

Storm Bringer Stage Play Impressions

The stage play was so perfect last night! With everything going wrong in this country, it really brings back life into life. 💞💞💓💓💖💖 Could not have been timed better. I have a renewed desire to do everything BSD ^^

I hope everyone can enjoy watching the play!! Support the foreign fandom by buying a ticket for the sub if you can! This is truly unprecedented! 💕💕💕 Let's encourage them to keep doing this sort of thing and including us!!!!! 💞💞💞

This will be an impressions post rather than containing detailed spoilers - as the entire play was in Japanese, I was able to follow the main trails, wasn't too lost, but I don't have the fidelity on the detailed whys and wherefores regarding Chuuya yet. Those will wait until I see the subbed version.

(I haven't yet finished the book - I do my own translations for accuracy and to get my info straight from the source, so I stay away from spoilers. All translators bring something unique to the fandom and bring different flavors and impressions from works, and I like my experience and what I pass on to be authentic as well ^^)

Ok, to my impressions!! Mild spoilers if you’ve read English book translations, heavy plot spoilers if you’ve been in the dark until now, but no details regarding Chuuya.

I gotta say - I saw the first stage play live. Saw the second. It's amazing to be there and see it live in the crowd, and I highly recommend it if you ever get the opportunity. But there is NOTHING like being able to see up close and intimate all the characters’ expressions and actions like it was to see this virtually. The quality was quite good, there was only the very occasional lag/buffer spike (which usually seemed to be at the times when I was leaning in hard to follow the story lolrip).

All told, the fact that they not only streamed it live for foreign audiences, but will ALSO have an ENGLISH DUBBED VERSION available is not only WILD, it hopefully shows that they're becoming more aware of their expanded fanbase. I really hope it's indications of good things to come ^^

I have only previously seen them offer occasional virtual showings of the stage plays (seemed to start during COVID), and only available to the Japanese audience (those with the ability to purchase with a Japanese credit card and address). Only by going through a third party was it ever possible to watch.

Chuuya was amazing to watch! His interactions with Adam, with Dazai, with Shirase. All unique and different. The conflict between Chuuya and Shirase stemming from Shirase's 15 betrayal, and Shirase never forgiving Chuuya and then learning the truth...finally coming to terms with the fact that Chuuya still (bizarrely) cares about him and wants to protect him.

The hilarious relationship between Adam and Chuuya! How Chuuya felt he was a hindrance and an irritation, to grudging cooperation having no other choice, to his shock and horror when Adam died, and then the genuine smile on his face when Adam came back and he went up to interact with him at the end. I guess that means that Adam is currently alive?? God I would LOVE to see spin-off stories with Chuuya and Adam. That relationship is so fun!!!

Shirase was hilarious XDD. It was very interesting to see what had become of him post 15. His interactions with Adam were also gold ^^

Verlaine was amazing. He was like an AU version of Chuuya in terms of personality. The tension between him and Chuuya was sooo goooood. His ability to completely overwhelm Chuuya again and again 😁😁😁 so good! The whump feeling OMGGGG. Chuuya has the best most whump-inducing screams I swear 💗💗😂😂

The moments when Verlaine decides to help Chuuya out, but then Chuuya takes the moment to turn on him as he’s the actual aggressor instead of the scientist!

And the true haunting aspect of Verlaine's Ability. The stage play has very simple effects, but god are they effective. I had literal chills down my spine when they showed the horrific, haunting visage. It was just such a visceral feeling, the haunting, the evil. Very reminiscent of that moment in 15 where they showed the beast they called Arahabaki, but as if I was actually there to experience it. Such a good moment.

There was the silly moment of Mori and Dazai's dance introduction together (I love Mori!) they have such a silly relationship here XDDD.

The moment where Mori suggests to Dazai that he and Chuuya commit double suicide when all else seems hopeless, and the look in Dazai's face XDDDD

The actor timing and special effects use for the Abilities! Especially with Verlain’s Ability, the way he throws people around looks so realistic! For as simple as it is, leagues and leagues beyond similar things I’ve seen in actual movies. It was as believable as if one was watching Ability use occur in real life.

And then the 'ending credits' - the dance at the end with all the characters. It was like Chuuya reliving the moments that had happened. The happiness with his Mafia friends, chased by his face falling when he remembers they're gone, and the way his mouth twists and he looks up like he's trying not to cry. The moments where he's surrounded by all the antagonists, how he wants to resist, but then having no other recourse he starts to dance with them, unable to resist fate.

It was just so good!!!

I think that's all I have to brain dump on ^^ I'll have another after I see the English sub ^^ And once I finish translating the novel, it'll be interesting to compare details ^^

I'm having an awful week.... So here's random facts about me and this beautiful fucking hoe of mine 😩😩:

Shorter and I would get so high or drunk off our faces, we end up slow dancing to upbeat club music at a rave party

Learnt to get around New York City because of him

Shorter does the cooking coz he can't stand bland boiled vegetables and meat... not my fault it's good for you SHEESH =3=

He likes my baking at least.. and he's suprised that it ain't bland XD

During art school, I couldn't stop drawing him. (Also true irl, I will admit. Except art school being in America. I never left this oversized island before XD) And honestly still can't stop.

We argue over which consoles better. He prefers Playstation while I prefer Xbox.... then Ash slam dunks us with PC having mods, 4K and more games. Like bruh.

I call his motorcycle Red Steed

Shorter chose the gamer tag "The BFG" Which I've mistaken for as "The Big Friendly Giant"... but he was referring to the weapon in DOOM 4/ Eternal "The Big Fucking Gun" And of course he changed it after that convo XDD

Out of all of Shorter's friends, I can't get along with Ash. Simply because every game he touches beats my high score and I have to spend all day and night trying to reclaim the dozens of high scores =-=

Shorter would definitely hate my dad, especially while my dad's drunk and wouldn't hesitate to beat his ass. And he doesn't need my permission to either. Someone needs to knock some sense into that fool when he gets like that.

I swear Shorter teaching me Chinese and making me say it after him is his plan to kill me with embarrassment. But he convinced me he's being genuine by letting me teach him Te Reo... now I understand why he likes making me nervous XDD

Ngl I love it when he's emotional or sensitive, its so fucking sweet

I've met Nadia and she's so fucking cool, I love it when she talks about every single embarrassing story she has of her brother.. but Shorter hates it. Probably why he doesn't like hanging around his sister while I'm there, if he had to stay then he's probably thinking "Wow, they're bitches from different witches alright."

He never admitted that he was in a gang yet and I haven't admitted that I have PCOS, Diabetes type 2 or Hypertension... coz I have no idea what he'd do if he finds out this whole time we can't have a kid so easily or at all if it was ever decided ^^;... then again, what would I be thinking if he told me he leads a whole mafia and killed people before? o3o;

I play Fortnite and he hates seeing it on the TV almost every... Fortnite 👀 (bad pun ik XD)

Between me and Shorter, I'm mostly terrible to sleep with. I kneed him hard in the butt once in our sleep and now we have a pillow barrier between us.. still gotta get use to sharing a bed XD

I hate it when he watches me draw coz he knows I'm always drawing him

It was a surprise to me that he could do graffiti art and shamelessly flawless at it, but he has no idea why I'm making such a big deal out of it

I appreciate how he likes to talk about his culture, means he's closer to home than we think. Me? I rather be far from my home as possible tbh XD

If I had to explain how I fell for him, it was like a honey bee to a sweetpea... meaning his purple hair caught my attention like a colorful flower to a bee. And the flower turning out to be the sweetest of them all

Oh I love the manga version just as much, but he won't get my attention as easily no doubt, unless he approaches first, then hell yeah.

I never believed Shorter's his real name and he believes Nature isn't my name either XD

I can't remember (or haven't decided o3o) where our first kiss was but it was either at a party or at the old Freedom Tunnel

Speaking of first, we didn't know each others exsistance until we glance across the road

Okay, I'm finally done and was actually a lot of fun. But I think I can nap. Happy sailing, Shippers!
