Naruto's a walking contradiction. He'll loudly proclaim his dream of becoming Hokage to anyone who'll listen, but the moment you catch his eye across the room, his cheeks erupt in a fiery blush, and he hides behind the nearest object (usually Sakura).

Naruto throws over-the-top ramen eating contests specifically for you, hoping to impress you with his competitive spirit and legendary appetite. He secretly hopes you'll find his competitive eating endearing.

Missions become a breeze when you're on the same team. Kakashi assigns himself (or volunteers way too readily) to tasks that make your job easier, all under the guise of efficiency.

Jokes fly over his head initially, especially if they're flirty. A beat later, the punchline lands, and you might catch a sheepish smile beneath his mask.

While Kakashi enjoys his Icha Icha Paradise, lately, he's been borrowing (read: sneaking) shoujo romance novels from Gai. He might even try (and fail) to casually recommend one to you.

Expect playful nudges and knowing winks from Gai. He's probably the first to notice Kakashi's awkwardness around you and might tease him relentlessly, albeit good-naturedly.

Kakashi isn't the most sentimental guy, but you might find a random flower or trinket on your desk – a subtle token he hopes you'll appreciate (although he'd never admit it).

A/n : I decided to finish the fic I started 2 months ago before the 3 weeks of exams start soon

Summary : You and your boyfriend are walking in the streets of Konohagakure today, though he feels a little more protective than he usually is. But something unexpected will stir his emotions

He had always been the protective one. Always glaring when people got too close to you, he would take a step closer until your sides touched. At times, his hand would clutch around your wrist or at your hip if he was in the mood for light pda, his cloak flapping like a shield around you.

At first, it was a bit tricky to keep up with, you had just started dating and all this was very new to him. He was one to easily get overwhelmed by his feelings, even though he was pretty gifted to hide it. After some time and some more discussions just the two of you, he came to terms with the usual ways of dealing with such situations. Besides after a while everyone knew you two were dating so they always thought twice before disrespecting you in any ways. Unfortunately for them - and Sasuke’s nerves - not everyone had this presence of mind.

He had seen them coming from afar, actually he did spot them from the moment they started walking down the path to Konohagakure marketplace. His eyes instinctively narrowed at the loud people that walked your way. Four boys of about 15 years old, chatting and laughing loudly as they made a din going down the narrow path leading to the marketplace.

As per usual, his ninja instinct kicked in as he studied them, his hand never loosening the grip it had on you. And as they got closer it only grew stronger and tighter. He glared at them, his Sharingan threatening to come to life as he tried to channel his protectiveness. The boys continued laughing together and pushing one another in some sort of fake battle, clearly not minding anything nor anyone around them.

And what had to happen happened, inadvertently one of the boys who just shoved his friend to the side ended up bumping into you. Being the robust kunoichi you were, the impact didn’t make you budge an inch, your eyes didn’t even widen because to be fair you had been looking at them from the same time Sasuke started, you just knew something like this could happen. Just like when you walk on the beach and walk near people playing football there, you just know you are going to get hit by the ball.

Though it seems Sasuke didn’t expect something like this could happen. Everything went very quickly. Instead of looking at the careless kids you immediately caught Sasuke’s wrist, whose Sharingan flared to life in an instant.

“Sasuke no, it’s fine” you reassured your boyfriend, gently pulling at his arm as he tried to take a step towards them. Fortunately your gentle words convinced him and he relented. Though his eyes followed the kids in a mix of silent threat if this were to ever happen again. He just couldn't help it when it came to you.

After the teenagers completely disappeared from his view he turned his head back to you, trying to keep his stoic façade, but he couldn't prevent the deep sigh that escaped his parted lips. Lately Sasuke has been very tense to say the least “You’re sure you’re alright ? And don’t underestimate it” he instructed.

You smiled at him “Yeah there’s nothing to worry about”

“Sure ?” he pressed on, his hand coming to rest gently on your stomach.

“Absolutely” you said feeling another rush of warmth as he started making slow circular motion, in a soothing manner - though it seemed he was trying to soothe himself as well - on the little swell that has started to subtly show for the past 3 weeks “He or she is perfectly fine”

A small smile spread on his lips at your reassurance. Without saying anything more, he brought his other hand to your lower back, reluctantly taking his hand off your abdomen before guiding you back on the path you were taking minutes ago. Now he was going to take you back home, where his nerves would ease a little, and where he would be able to worship your like the queen he knows you are.

Itachi Uchiha

🍡Your extremely shy nature is as obvious as it can get and has caused Itachi to feel multiple times a day concerned about you even during his stalker phrase. You’re socially awkward and lack experience as you tend to stick with the things you’re familiar with out of fear to embarrass yourself so the eventual abduction is the worst situation you could be confronted with. Itachi is as understanding as he can be though, is patient and doesn’t try to force you into any more uncomfortable situations. You need time to at least get a chance to adjust but whilst he doesn’t confront you, he at least shows up long enough to let you see that he doesn’t plan to harm you. Itachi definitely feels more protective and there’s this possessive urge at times to keep you completely for himself and to take charge over your life as you have troubles voicing out your opinion. He snaps mostly out of it though, even goes as far as encouraging you to speak up more.

Dabi

🔹Dabi finds the struggles of his s/o and their shyness just freaking adorable, especially since it’s such a strong contrast to his own personality and the ones of the people he surrounds himself with. Seeing you struggling to talk to others or speak up is such a cute sight to see, stalking you and seeing you troubling yourself with concerned thoughts never fails to lift his mood. Whilst it is cute seeing you being insecure and shy by yourself, the sight of someone making you uncomfortable has his blood boiling and everyone who dares to make his little mouse shy will burn for it. He knows that an abduction will surely only worsen things for you but he doesn’t give a fuck about it. You’re such a breath of fresh air in his life, too pure for someone like him but the taboo of it makes it all more exciting. He attempts to make you a bit more comfortable around him though but at times he makes you purposely nervous to see your reactions and tease you.

Tomioka Giyu

🌊Giyu isn’t really any better than his s/o, he just manages to be more stoic and hide his emotions better than his s/o does. There’s this feeling of anxiety and nervousness when Tomioka gets the chance to spend time with you though as he doesn’t know what to say or how to express his feelings for you. The end result is always this awkward silence where you try your best to keep your distance and avoid eye contact. Initially when Giyu notices, he’s worried it’s because of him. After some stalking observing, he comes to realize that you’re just naturally very shy and not because you’re intimidated or uncomfortable around him hopefully. Your shy nature stresses him at times out though since he’s almost always worried that he might do something that may make you uncomfortable so he becomes hyper aware when he’s around you, secretly desperate to gain some of your affection. He can’t help the increase within his protective nature though, if someone makes you feel anxious he will step in.

Douma

❄️Possibly one of the worst when it comes to a very shy s/o. Now, in Douma’s eyes his darling is nothing short of adorable. Every little reaction has his heart fluttering wildly in his chest, every shy word spoken has him enraptured. He dotes excessively on you for your shyness, spoils you with all the riches he can give. Unfortunately Douma lets his sadistic streak show as he forces you into uncomfortable situations with him only to see your shyness and witness the way you avoid eye contact, stutter and pinch your heated cheeks whilst cooing over your sweetness. Whether he violates your personal space or asks you gruesome and weird questions. It should be pointed out that Douma is awfully possessive though. You are only for his eyes and everyone else who either gets a glimpse of your adorable personality or makes you a bit anxious will be beheaded on the spot. For that sake Douma keeps you isolated as everything about you should only be his to savor and cherish.

Giorno Giovanna

🐞Some may think that this should be forbidden. Giorno himself understands though. The unlikelihood of two people so vastly different as someone like you should never be involved with the likes of him. Ultimately Giorno won’t stay away from you though as he’s possessive and partially delusional too. Unlike the force and power he holds, he approaches you normally though as he hides who he is from you in an attempt to charm you and have you falling in love with him naturally instead of straight up forcing you. He takes advantage of your shy personality though as he knows that you feel nervous to approach new people and starts manipulating your surroundings so you end up spending a lot of time with him and only him. Whilst your shy reactions around him might be adorable at first, it’s important to him that you feel comfortable around him. Giorno is fairly patient and suave with you but you have an abduction coming eventually for you.

Leone Abbacchio

🍷Abbacchio is hit with feelings of insecurity and shame as he can’t help but feel like this should be illegal. You’re without a doubt the purest and softest person he’s ever met and normally he would have frowned at your behavior. But all it really took was your sensibility and your caring nature to make him fall for you as you showed him more kindness than the majority of people he knows. He doesn’t deserve you, it’s something Leone tells himself daily as you don’t fit within the grim lifestyle he leads. He doesn’t want you to find out who he really is for the sake of keeping what he has of you in his life now. He’s a bit dependent on the slices of kindness and nurture you give him, especially since he knows that you have troubles socializing due to your shyness, a trait which overwhelms him at times. Abbacchio turns very vicious and aggressive around others if they make you anxious, follows you around more than you should know as his protective streak makes it hard for him to not do nothing.

Narancia Ghirga

🧡Narancia overdoes it when it comes to his darling due to the clear inexperience in general when it comes to the concept of loving someone romantically. He's never really met someone as shy as you before either and frankly spoken, that leads to some misunderstandings, especially since he's paranoid. Your shyness is mistaken as fear as you can't keep eye contact with him and always keep a good distance between you two. Narancia, assuming that you don't want to be with him, takes for that the wrong path as he starts following you around even more, invades your privacy and tries desperately to gain your attention until he can't take it anymore and bursts out in tears in front of you, blaming you for not even giving him a chance and begging you to accept him. Even after he has understood that you're just a very shy person, he turns only worse with those around you as he starts threatening everyone as soon as you look remotely uncomfortable and smothers you with his presence and affection to make you feel protected.

Chae Yul

💜Chae Yul might find your shyness adorable later on but as long as you keep avoiding him and his gaze, you really trigger the worst inside of him. Yul is addicted to your thoughtfulness and your kindness you show him, especially during the days where he is bullied. He starts to believe that you two only need each other and his obsession really starts kicking in after he realizes that you're someone who has troubles adjusting to new people and new situations, hence why he makes sure to keep you away from others. You only need him and he makes it significantly hard for you to form new bonds since he's clingy and follows you around everywhere, convinces you to stay with him and threatens and scares everyone else away, paranoid that you might get close to someone. He's already boiling with jealousy if he realizes that you have less troubles looking at someone and talking to them which only results in him guilt-tripping you with tears into showing him affection, he won't allow anyone else getting in between you two.

Well… there’s no way Itachi would just let you wear someone else’s t-shirt, let alone a guy he barely knows.

At first, he wouldn’t even notice you were wearing a shirt that doesn’t belong to you nor him.

But after a second look at you, it’d come to mind that wow that is not a familiar shirt.

Be expecting a game of 20 questions just about where the shirt came from and who you got it from.

When he hears you say it’s from one of your guy friends, Itachi will give you a strange look like what do you mean?

He has offered you his entire closet to pick and choose what to wear whenever you felt like it, but here you were standing in a random man’s shirt.

The actual reason you were wearing your friend’s t-shirt was because you had spilled your drink all over yourself when you were out with your friend.

So, he offered his shirt to you, and of course, he went the rest of the time with a jacket on over his undershirt.

But that’s just not enough of a reason to be excusable, so Itachi rushed to his closet to grab one of his t-shirts, and he pleaded with you to change into it.

After much arguing about the issue, you changed into his t-shirt, and he was all smiley after that.

You, on the other hand, now have to explain to your friend how his shirt ended up being ripped to shreds, trying to hide the fact that Itachi let the house cat use it as a toy.

Even the house cat wondered who’s scent was on that t-shirt, so Itachi was definitely pleased to see the cat was on his side.

I never watched JJK, so I had to do a little graphic research on Google to find out what Gojo's eyes look like, lol.

Indra

Personally, I am inclined to think Indra as a person who prioritises beauty, hegemony, perfection to his standards. At first, he would be insulted by (Y/N) covering her eyes. What does she have to hide?

It hurts his ego to know he cannot enjoy the completeness of his special person, needing to own her wholeness.

"How come you won't show me your eyes? You're mine, I need to see them, it's not a request." (as a five year old, if I may…)

He won't force you to reveal them, but he will get more and more annoyed about it. The longer you delay, the less attention he will pay, until you feel so bad that you have no choice.

When you finally show them to him, he will be dazzled by the beauty of that crystalline blue, unwilling to admit he wasn't expecting such a surprise. You'll probably steal his breath away, and he'll have a hard time coming to.

Madara

Impatient as a child. He needs to reveal the mystery of those eyes, he's an Uchiha, you can't argue with his need to know what colour his special someone wears.

He'll resort to creative ways of trying to get the blindfold off. He'll want to surprise you when you least expect it, spying on you in the shower, or some other moment when you're off guard.

Of course, he doesn't succeed, since you're not careless about it. "(Y/N) please, what could be so terrible about showing me your eyeballs?!"

He starts to get really frustrated about it, so much so that he leaves you no other option other than showing him in order to get him off his insistence. At this point, he thinks you have violet eyes.

You stun him to such an extent he activates his Sharingan just to match the uniqueness of your orbs, wanting to keep up with those gorgeous eyes.

Itachi

The definition of patience. He won't pressure you or get annoying for you to show him, he'll give you your space and freedom to handle the matter as you see fit.

"Not to intrude, (Y/N), but may I ask why you don't wish to show them?"

Being someone who also wears special eyes, he completely understands the situation of not wanting to reveal them rashly, or hide them because of people who may want to use them in the wrong way.

He will wait patiently, and support you, respecting all the time you need.

Eventually and when you reveal them, he simply smiles at you with sincerity, acting naturally so as not to make you uncomfortable, as if he has known you for years without restrictions.

-a part of him doesn't feel ready yet, he feels that he may fail as a father and a family man, but he disregards those thoughts quickly, his full focus on you now

-he asks the current hokage to free him from his jounin duties and just give him short, simple missions so he can be near you if you need him

-itachi becomes your immediate maid when shisui isn't with you. shisui asked him kindly if he could watch over you and of course itachi knows this is such an important moment for the both of you

-shisui is very versatile and he can read you so easily, so your intense moods are expected by him, he tries to do his best and not disturb you more

-he is very good of course, shisui never misses. he plays manages to make you feel a lot better. and if some day you are upset with him, shisui does his magic and at the end of the day, you are back in your bed being spooned by him

-during the first months of your pregnancy, shisui goes to mikoto and fugaku for some advices, he hasn't done anything bad but he wants to be fully prepared

-he does too many extra things because he feels insecure, unsure that he can't be the father your children deserve aww

-your food cravings don't really gross him out, but he can't have a straight face when you ask for one, his expressions always make you laugh, his whole aura lightening you up

-shisui is simply wonderful while you are pregnant. he feels excited with just the idea that you are carrying his child, wow he can't still assimilate that

-every night you get free belly rubs, he is always willing to feel your belly grow each day, there isn't one day he doesn't rub his hands tenderly along your waist

-right before the baby is about to be born, shisui is talking to your belly, as if he were talking to his child. he has full conversations and will look at you offended if you interrupt him and his baby

-when you are in labor, shisui is there to calm you down with his hands, caressing all your swollen areas while holding your hand. he has high pain tolerance, so he doesn't flinch when you grip his hand tightly

-cries when his baby cries, and when you have his child in your arms, he asks itachi to take a picture of his small family

-this is everything itachi ever wanted

-his face doesn't change a lot except for his soft grin and his tender gaze, but he is actually shitting himself

-he commits himself to never leave your side. you won't have a bad day with itachi because he is doing everything in his power for you to have a healthy pregnancy

-of course he knows there will be rough times when you won't even want to talk to him, and he is heartbroken, but he knows all of this is for a beautiful ending

-mikoto is there for you too, along with sasuke, and fugaku !! itachi's whole family is more than ready to support you

“You never warned me you’d dropped your defense. You never even told me it was actually possible — to subdue your innate ability to resist genjutsu. “Well…” he drawled. “It was my decision to take some risks. Don’t fret. However, since I let you mess with my mind, I may suffer some aftereffects now. I may feel a little drained for a day or two… It’s something we’ll find out very soon.”

Kakashi tapped at his masked chin and hummed. “I see. You’re making your own decisions regarding our training. And I’m sitting here like an idiot, wondering if… You know, I’m not gonna cast genjutsu on you anymore. We happen to encounter plenty of enemy ninja on our missions.”

“Um… Sorry? Okay, okay, maybe I deserved the slaps. But I’m your ‘Obito-sensei’! Madara Uchiha

🌑If you work as a healer, you're going to lose your job very quickly with Madara involved. You can't possibly expect him to just let it slide. Honestly, he could find your special way of healing very amusing if it wouldn't be for the fact that you heal other people by letting them bite you. He may not be as outright enraged as Indra but it is still quite intimidating to witness his glare whenever he notices a new bite you have on your skin. So Madara starts meddling with your missions by reducing them significantly as well as making sure that you go with him when he is on missions. It is honestly pointless since he doesn't need you at all whilst his enemies desperately need you when he is done with them. You even argue with him that other shinobi need you much more than he does but he never listens to you. He's definitely having an argument with the elders of his clan when he tells them that he plans to marry you as they view the concept of your ability as inappropriate. Not to mention that it would be highly improper to have him married to someone who is littered with bite marks of other people.

Hashirama Senju

🌳He's trying so hard to hide that he is very uncomfortable with the thought of other shinobi biting you in order for you to instantly heal them as he wants to be supportive of your job and your dreams. However, it is still obvious that Hashirama is struggling to do so. He would have already given you a confused smile in another scenario but would have accepted it. The problem is that you just happen to be his obsession and he happens to be the Hokage and the head of the prestigious Senju clan. People are talking about you and whilst he knows that many in Konoha think highly of you, there are just as many that have to comment about your unique way of healing others only because you are the partner of him. It is unheard of and very unfitting for quite a few people that you let yourself get bitten by others, an act that can be viewed as sexual, to heal their wounds and that those marks on you are so visible. Hashirama tries to hush all of those voices as good as he can but he can't deny that he is also feeling disheartened whenever he sees those marks, wondering if there is a better way for you to do your job without hurting yourself.

Tobirama Senju

🌊He is going to give you a mildly weirded out look when he figures out how you heal people but he decides to not mind as long as you do your job as a healer. For Tobirama the problem starts when he realises that he has caught some rather obsessive feelings for you because differently from Hashirama, he doesn't hesitate that much. Instead he is very set on having you stop doing your job as you have done so in the past. Instead he tries to convince you to just heal people like other medics do by using jutsus, even if your method is more effective as it heals instantly. He is much more mindful of his clan and traditions so Tobirama dreads thinking about all the gossip that would arise the moment it would be made public knowledge that he plans to make you his spouse. Whilst he knows that you don't have second thoughts when you let others bite you for healing, he knows that other people likes stirring up some unsavory rumors for the sake of having something to gossip about. Obviously it would be also just very improper for you to let yourself get bitten and have those bite marks even whilst being married to him.

Tsunade Senju

🐌Tsunade is feeling kind of conflicted about your technique. On the one hand she is also a doctor and medic and for that is able to realise just how effective your skills are as they allow instant healing. On the other hand the lady is also a good bit possessive and protective so the part of others having to bite you in order to have their injuries healed strikes a wrong cord within her. She has seen all those permanent bite marks on your skin as a result of helping others and it triggers some dark feelings inside of her. She wants you to stop if she has to be honest. She can just teach you how to use normal medic jutsu that doesn't involve you hurting yourself over and over again like this. Tsunade has spent a lot of time treating all the marks on your arms and other body parts as they don't really seem to heal all that well and you remember the angry frown on her face whenever she did so. Even if it is for the sake of others, you shouldn't constantly have to inflict such lasting damage onto yourself. You know very well how protective she can get.

Pain

🌧️Luckily for his sanity, you don't have to use any of those skills of yours anymore after he has abducted you. The bad news for you is though that you are abducted and isolated now. It is likely that you might have been part of the organisation before you were unlucky enough to catch Nagato's eyes but it is too late now to regret the path you have chosen. There isn't much for you to do in the tower he has imprisoned you in as you spent a good while just being intimidated and scared around all bodies of Pain as Konan is the only one who who you feel somewhat comfortable around. Nevertheless though, you have never missed the way his bodies have looked at your skin visibly littered with bites with their Rinnegan whenever they were around. You can already imagine that the leader of the Akatsuki isn't too happy with it but in any of the bodies of Pain, those feelings of discontent and anger are never as vividly expressed as Nagato actually feels them. The only comfort for him is knowing that you can't let others bite you anymore now that he has you locked away.

Itachi Uchiha

🍡Your abilities could make you a useful addition to the Akatsuki if they would ever find out about you but Itachi has made sure to keep you a secret from them as he doesn't want to involve you in such a dangerous life. Quite fancy coming from him as he is the same person who kidnapped you and Itachi knows of that. He probably doesn't let it show but he would lie if he would say that he wasn't triggered at times when he saw how you used your abilities to heal other people and it might have pushed him a bit faster to commit the act of abduction. Despite the composure he often personifies, you have to keep in mind that he is still an Uchiha. A clan infamous for the intensity of their feelings. He doesn't blame you though as he knows that deep down you only wanted to help people even whilst sustaining permanent bite marks which have never fully faded away, the outline of teeth imprinted on your skin. He never comments on those bite marks though whenever you wear clothes that should reveal them.

Sasuke Uchiha

💙He is familiar with such an ability as he knows Karin who has the very same power that you possess. He has chosen Karin specifically for those among many others of her abilities when he formed his own team after killing Orochimaru. However, you are quite different than Karin is as you are the person he has chosen to spend his life with. So his very negative and possessive reaction upon finding out just how you heal people is nothing unexpected as he immediately understands the implications. Sasuke is very quick to put his foot down and to forbid you from using your skills to heal others again as the very idea of you letting others bite you triggers his possessive feelings. He is very selfish as he even stops you from helping injured people if you should meet them during the journey he has forced you to join together with him. Also, the bite marks all over your body are always sure to trigger him some way or another which makes him in return much more needy to constantly claim you as his own as well as being at times petty enough to use your healing abilities for every small cut he sustains.

Sakura Haruno

🌸Sakura is at one point also familiar with Karin and just like her teacher, she has also chosen the path of a medic, although she has acquired tremendous strength along the way. Even Sakura finds herself feeling a bit conflicted at times though as you are still her darling and for that reason she just can't help but feel weird to just see other people biting you in order to be healed. Obviously she acknowledges and respects that you are dedicated to help other people when they are in danger due to their wounds and as a medic she would never stop you from saving those who are in desperate need. There is still a part of her though that feels weird whenever she spots those bite marks on your body, although she does her best to not stare at them or to make any comments about them as she doesn't want you to think that she loves you less because of them. Just like Tsunade though, she still tries finding a way to heal them faster if they shouldn't fade away.

Ranking the Akatsuki Based on How Well Liked They Are in the Organization

1 Kisame Hoshigaki - He’s surprisingly friendly for a former Blood Mist Village friend killer. He's honest, even if he follows strict “don’t ask, don’t tell” and “need to know basis” rules, and he seems be both loyal to the organization and it’s members. He’s agreeable, a good listener, and easy to get along with.

2 Konan - She doesn’t interact with the Akatsuki’s members very often, especially outside of missions. Some members regard her as boring, but she’s respectful enough, not antagonistic, and will go out of her way for the members if it benefits the organization. It’s a low bar for normal people, but the Akatsuki aren’t normal.

3 Pein - He’s respected for his strength, drive, and ability to pull something like the Akatsuki off in the first place. The members have an ongoing debate of whether his attempting his goals is courage or arrogance. He has a bad habit of going on philosophical tangents. Sometimes he says things during meetings and no one can tell if he’s teasing them or… Like Konan, no one knows much about him outside of that because he rarely interacts with them.

4 Itachi Uchiha - He usually keeps to himself but occasionally gets really nosy. He thinks he’s subtle. He isn’t. He doesn’t act like someone who would kill their clan and he refuses to talk to anyone about it. He’s sick and he’s tired all of the time, no one has agreed on what he’s like outside of that. Since he’s so unreadable, many members don’t know whether or not he’s trustworthy. Average brought down by Deidara.

5 Zetsu - Everyone is uncomfortable with how he insists on keeping tabs on them. Outside of that, opinions are mixed. Black Zetsu is rude but he makes sure everyone gets their work done on schedule. White Zetsu is an idiot but is the closest thing to good company after Kisame. Hidan and Kisame gave them the nicknames Dokuzetsu and Jozetsu and they just kind of stuck. Everyone has chosen to ignore the cannibalism. Pein and Konan don’t seem concerned, so he’s probably safe, right?

6 Kakuzu - He’s aggressive and short tempered, but he won’t bother anyone unless they’re late on work or go over budget, for the most part. He’s so stingy that most of the Akatsuki prefer paying out of pocket over fighting him about “unnecessary mission expenses” like food or shelter. Most members just ignore him and he ignores them right back.

7 Deidara - He’s good at his job, so everyone understands why he’s there, but he’s also regarded as loud, overconfident, dramatic, short-tempered, only interested in art, and immature. Him being the youngest member of the Akatsuki, even if it is only by three years, doesn’t help the immature allegations. Most members were over him by week 2.

8 Sasori - He’s critical and condescending. He is ready and willing to attack anyone who makes him wait. He is unapologetically nosy and doesn’t even try to hide it like Itachi. If you don’t tell him what he wants to know, he’ll just gather intel on you behind your back. If it weren’t for the skill and knowledge he’s accrued, no one would like him.

9 Hidan - He’s loud, vulgar, and will take any chance to preach about his religion. He has been kicked out of meetings on more than one occasion. If he gets too bored, on missions or not, he will start picking fights. He complains all of the time, even about things he doesn’t actually care about. He’s made it abundantly clear that not only is he neither loyal to the organization nor its members, he’s expressed that he hates both.

Hmmm okay prompt: premise: people can, once in their lifetime, basically will the universe into granting whatever is their soulmate's greatest wish at the time they do this. Shinobi will usually save this to use as a get out of death free card (which USUALLY works, because "survive" is a pretty strong impulse when you're about to die, but not always), riches are common, as are the deaths of abusive bosses/parents/etc.

...we all know what Tobirama's greatest wish has nothing to do with being alive himself. So now they're about to die AND have to deal with Kawarama and Itama (plus or minus Hashirama depending on when you set it) who have no idea what's going on.

Oh Youve Done It Now

It's been years since Tobirama has felt this chakra. Longer still since it's been turned towards healing him.

Even with it, his whole body aches. Exhaustion piled upon exhaustion, and he'd lost track of his injuries very early into the fight. He knows only that it hurts to breathe, yet his body stubbornly continues to do it despite each inhale rattling inside of him.

He must be dying, he thinks. His mind has conjured up some fantasy to comfort him as his life fades.

"I know you're awake, otouto." Hashirama's voice, in the same tone he'd use when one of his experiments was particularly troublesome -- exasperated, but ultimately unable to hide his worry. "I'd really like an explanation."

"I think I might have one." That voice would be Hikaku's, who should not be anywhere near here, and so the one whose presence only cements this as a strange dream. "Your brother, even on the verge of death, has only ever wished for one thing."

Silence stretches, the whole world is silent and muffled except for the sense-memory of sunlight through trees as Hashirama's chakra knits together bones.

A sigh. "He did warn me. Though I suppose this did work, in its own way."

"Wait, Hikaku-san, you--"

"But you're an Uchiha!" A voice Tobirama hasn't heard in many, many years shouts. It's enough to have him forcing his heavy eyelids open -- even if it's not real, he needs to see--

Hashirama is leaning over him, curtain of hair blocking out most everything else as he heals the crater that Tobirama's chest has become. He looks younger than he did when he died, though not overly so; a snapshot from those few years when he'd gained laugh lines but not yet stress wrinkles around his eyes.

"Don't sit up." He warns, his voice is stern, but there's something fragile in his eyes, "And don't infuse chakra, or I'll knock you out again."

He wouldn't even have to make good on the threat; Tobirama would probably lose consciousness for even trying.

"'nija." He says. Is all he can make himself say between the pain and the tightness of his throat. Hashirama smiles tightly and leans back -- enough for the two figures taking refuge behind him to lean around and look at him with wide eyes.

"Wow, aniki. You got old. What happened to your face?" Kawarama.

Whether he's referring to the red slashes that Tobirama had only made after his death or one of his other injuries, he doesn't know. It doesn't matter, really.

Tobirama's eyes burn. His instinct is to look away, to hide his face, but he doesn't dare.

"That's mean, nii-san. He's hurt." Itama is grabbing onto Hashirama's robe with one white knuckled fist and Kawarama's wrist with the other. The two of them are the same age that they were when they died, the same way that they've been frozen in Tobirama's memories. Kawarama was born first, but brought back like this, Itama has a year and a few centimeters of height on him.

Kawarama makes a disapproving noise -- his eyebrows are furrowed like they did when he was worried and trying not to let it show. He glances obviously to the side, scowls at what he sees, then puffs out his cheeks and steps out of Hashirama's shadow. He doesn't go far -- only to get close enough to sit by Tobirama's head and tug at his hair -- but Itama lets himself be dragged behind and releases his grip on Hashirama to pick up his hand instead.

I missed you. He wants to say. I missed you, I'm sorry, I missed you. He knows better than to leave things unsaid, sucks in a breath to try, and it's agony. Blood stains his teeth; his vision greys and Hashirama is saying something that runs through his ears without registering. His chakra swells until Tobirama can taste it on the back of his tongue, until it drowns out the pain behind its own presence.

He loses time. Kawarama is petting at his hair now, and Itama is mapping the scars on his hands, but both of them refuse to settle, eyes flicking up to watch some threat. Tobirama is in no state to defend them if they should need it, but he forces himself to move despite the pounding weight of his head and look.

They are, he belatedly realizes, in a dome of mokuton vines, and sitting against the far wall, hands visible on his knees, is Hikaku. And he knows why his brothers would be wary of him, but after all these years Tobirama can't see him in that light any longer.

The Uchiha smiles wryly.

"I followed as soon as I heard where you were headed." He says. "No point in having a wish that never gets used."

"So you really are soulmates." Kawarama grumbles. And Tobirama wants -- he wants to promise Kawarama that Hikaku won't hurt him. That no harm will ever come to him again. But with a slow, choking panic, he realizes that he does not even have the strength to turn his head and see him again. He squeezes Itama's hand instead, fingers trembling.

"We're at peace now!" Hashirama says, leaning back from where he was holding his hands over Tobirama's chest to wipe at his brow. Tobirama can see a sunny smile in the corner of his eye. "Just like we used to talk about."

"...Uhm." Itama says after a beat. "If we're at peace, then who were those guys you were fighting?"

"Aah, that's, well--" Hashirama glances at Tobirama first, and then remembering that he's in no state to speak turns to Hikaku instead.

The Uchiha sighs, with that slight twist of a smile that means he thinks something is ridiculous but he won't say it.

"That was supposedly one of Kumo's best squads. Your death was enough of a perceived weakness that Suna started making aggressive action to claim more land. Kumo and Iwa started targeting our shinobi shortly afterwards…"

It's a basic summary of the political situation that Tobirama has been living with for years now, and he tunes it out without quite meaning to.

All of his most important people are here, are with him. It's a nice enough sentiment to die to.

It's dark.

Tobirama feels like he's withered dry and might crack apart into dust if he so much as moves a muscle. The pain of breathing isn't agony, anymore, at least. More an aching pulse that rises and ebbs with each breath.

He's horribly disoriented for a long moment --truly dead, now? -- he's lying down, something soft placed over a hard uneven surface, there are two tiny motes of warmth curled up on either side of him, and there's a conversation going on above his head. That's probably what woke him.

"I should have known he wasn't over his prejudice against your clan." Hashirama sighs, "I'm sorry--"

"I'm not going to pretend he's our greatest ally, but I don't think you would have been able to do much better." Hikaku cuts him off sharply. Having lived past the age that Hashirama was when he died, he has apparently decided to abandon the deferential respect that he used to have. "I'm certain he would love to let us fight -- keeping them back is my choice. The countries we are at war with have no laws against eye theft. They have bounties for each bloodline they can take, and ours is the highest."

Tobirama blinks, but there is no moonlight for him to see by. They'd tried to make it work. Barbaric as the Hyuga seal is, it is useful; but no matter the modifications Tobirama makes to it, Hikaku cannot get his clan to agree to use it, and without it his clan members are all targets too tempting for their enemies to leave alone. But why is he telling Hashirama this…?

"We have as much sway as any other clan in the council. You are the one who named your own brother as a successor, and got half of my clan convinced they needed more power or risk being destroyed."

Hence the military police plan, and Tobirama isn't certain it will help much. If the Uchiha can't fight on behalf of the village, fighting within it is about the only thing left for them to do -- he figured he might as well at least make it productive.

"You know," Hikaku continues, voice flat, "There was a faction of my clan that wanted to follow in Madara's footsteps. We're all trying our best, Shodai-sama."

There was a plan to assassinate him, which Hikaku dealt with before it could become public. Tobirama is thankful for that, but it has left his soulmate deeply unpopular within his clan.

This feels like a very strange way to have one's life flash before their eyes.

"I… see. I apologize. I'll speak with Tobirama before making any more assumptions." Hashirama says, clearly cowed. There is a long moment of silence, then, "…Do you truly call him by his title? When the two of you are soulmates?"

"He refuses to ruin what little authority I have over my clan by acknowledging it publicly." Hikaku's tone is harsh, now, though if he has an issue with that he's never brought it to Tobirama's attention.

A moot effort now, Tobirama thinks muzzily. Hikaku might be thinking that too, from the way he sighs.

"Tend to your brother, Shodai-sama. I'll keep watch."

The wave of chakra his brother sends over him sends Tobirama into a darkness of a different kind.

When he awakens again he's horribly nauseous. The weightlessness of open air alternates with a dull shock that sends a jolting ache through his body every time it happens. It's manageable; Tobirama could fight through this, if he had to.

But he won't have to. Hashirama has him, one arm secure under his knees, the other his neck, holding him tight to his chest to try and mitigate the impact of each jump.

He's moving much slower than he should be, if his goal is to get an injured person to safety.

Tobirama peels his eyes open, squinting in the wind as the treetops whip past overhead. He has enough strength in him now that he can reach up and grab at the front of his robe, though he grunts from the effort.

"Anija." He rasps. There was still so much left unsaid between them at the end. Enough that Tobirama doesn't even know where to start, aside from the obvious, "I'm--"

"Oh Tobi, good! Hashirama doesn't even seem aware that he's cut anything off. "He's awake!" He announces over this shoulder, and drops from the trees to the ground, landing with a thump. Hashirama is obviously trying to muffle the impact, but it makes him twitch and hiss in pain regardless.

He's healed enough now that when Hashirama goes to set him down against a tree trunk he can keep himself upright, but not without his arms shaking from the effort.

"We still really shouldn't be moving you." His brother comments idly as he sends a light pulse of diagnostic chakra through his system, "I really wish we'd been able to use a stretcher. And you're going to take forever to recover your chakra after how much I had to dump into you. But if you actually rest when we get home, you should end up alright."

His hands flutter around until he finds a water skin -- Uchiha mon stamped on, so it must actually be Hikaku's -- and shoves it in Tobirama's face. He's able to get a grip on it enough to hold it himself -- the water is stale but the he relief of it sharp, settling over him like a blanket.

"Hikaku-san went ahead to alert everyone as soon as we got into safe territory." Hashirama chatters on, "There should be a patrol coming to meet us. You really had us worried there for a minute!"

As he talks, Tobirama's eyes don't move from the two figures that have landed behind Hashirama and are peering over his shoulders.

"Seriously." Kawarama says, "I don't think you've ever slept that long."

"I--" Tobirama chokes out, "I haven't died, have I?"

"No." Itama says, eyebrows knitted together.

"You'd better not have." Kawarama echoes with a scowl

"You're the only one here who hasn't!" Hashirama smiles, like he's made a joke, but it slips right back off his face at whatever he sees when he meets Tobirama's eyes.

"Oh, Tobi…" He says sorrowfully, but Itama beats him to whatever he's planning on doing, darting around Hashirama and carefully but forcefully wrapping his arms around Tobirama's neck. Not to be outdone, Kawarama squawks and secures a hold around one of his shoulders.

Tobirama's eyes burn, and he buries his face into a bony shoulder, so he's not able to see when Hashirama moves to pull all of them into his arms. He's lived long enough that the grief of their deaths had scarred over, but this has ripped the wound gaping open wide.

"It must have been lonely." Itama says, voice muffled in Tobirama's fur.

"We're here now though." Kawarama insists. His voice wavers so he buries his face in fur, too.

“Yeah.” Hashirama agrees, chin resting on top of Tobirama’s head. “We’re all here, now.”

naruto and i spent yesterday watching drag race, i would like to do a roast to celebrate kakashi's hokage inauguration:

kakashi is the only hokage in history to fumble the bag for both his homosexual AND heterosexual love interests; however, he continues a long line of hokages to completely fail their students--or if youre tsunade, fail at picking a student.

many people have been wondering why kakashi wears his mask. it's really simple: hes hiding the smell of might guy's "youth" on his breath from iruka.

kakashi was born an old soul, as you can tell by his grey hair. and just like every old man in our village, hes a publicly indecent sex pest. hes been carrying around that porn novel of his for as long as ive known him. i guess he was inspired by naruto's motto: "never give up"....trying to cure your erectile dysfunction.

as many of you know, kakashi's notorious for 2 things: his sharingan and his dogs. there's a saying that goes "you can't teach an old dog new tricks", and it must be true given kakashi uses the same 3 jutsus over and over. watching him fight is more painfully repetitive than itachi's tsukuyomi.

speaking of itachi, kakashi's name means "scare crow". fitting, given not too long after joining kakashi's anbu team did itachi get fed up and decide to kill our entire family.

the time after that was extremely difficult for me, and im grateful kakashi took me under his wing because we have a lot of things in common. i once asked him what he would do if i killed everyone he loves, and he told me they were all already dead. so i guess instead of "hatake, scare crow", we should be calling him "hatake scares the hoes".

as a teacher, i learned so much from him. i'd like to think if he wrote a book about his teachings, it would be called "how to lose friends and influence people to defect from the village." some of the things hes taught me include chidori--which should be used to stab directly through the heart of those you love and who love you, permanently disfiguring the person you love so you know its real, and how to let survivor's guilt cripple you and define your whole life.

but i also learned from his mistakes. my inspirational loud dumb gay bestie is still alive (not for lack of trying on both our parts), and we successfully communicated our feelings. plus, the girl that is bafflingly in love with me despite me being obviously gay is still alive (again, not for lack of trying).

so thank you, kakashi, for all that you've done for me. you are the best man for the job--considering everyone else is dead, cut in half, in jail, or danzo shimura. you will do your village proud.

i wish you a long life of continuing to inspire and annoy generations of uchiha.
