Bakugo Katsuki
Tumblr media
Bakugo is probably a very advanced gym-goer and trains for ‘his sport’. He also is very knowledgeable on all aspects of his training. Though he is a student, it might not be perfectly optimized due to demands on his time, and because it’s basically impossible to perfect workout programming. Even the pros change their workout plenty as new knowledge comes out. A few aspects he might utilize include: Effective reps, 2x a week per muscle group, and since hiking is labeled as one of his favorite activities: bouldering. Bakugo’s muscles of emphasis are in his chest, shoulders, back, and arms, these are the muscles that put up with a lot of abuse from his explosions and help him execute strong hand to hand maneuvers. But, this is Bakugo we’re talking about; he's not likely to neglect a single muscle group in his body. While it might seem a little strange that he isn’t about ‘out-voluming’ Deku, he understands the value of rest (dude sleeps at like 8pm every night, fun fact Einstein also prioritized rest which is probably why he was so productive) and doesn’t want to go catabolic, the body and mind grow while resting. Another ‘weird thing’ is a lack of quirk training, that is part of school, not even PE, I’d assume this is a straight up subject/class. As mentioned previously Bakugou just goes to class and is able to understand material very easily and apply it without many qualms, however, he probably does some extra reading for the classes ahead and some challenge questions which do take time.
Diet: Spice… I wouldn’t eat spicy food before working out, if you can then go ahead by all means. Leaving it for a nice post workout meal would go great. Bakugo is lean and appears to have considerable bulk over Todoroki and Deku. He isn’t the type to bulk and cut, but rather ‘maingain’, his calorie burn being a hero student allows him to eat greasier, richer food (how he isn’t pimply I’ll never understand). In general I’d imagine he eats clean, easily digestible food for breakfast and lunch, then gets a majority of his calories and spice fix in his evening meal. Now ‘mainganing’, he probably eats about 1g of protein for every lb of bodyweight (2.2g for every kg), and doesn’t count other macros, in terms of calories he's maybe 200 kcal above what he expends leaving room for what HE wants, cake and candies are in constant supply let’s be honest. If you’d like, try one of those ‘increasing my spice tolerance’ challenges off the side, or make a single meal spicier than usual, keep some ice cream on the side too for the aftermath. Depending on your goals, adjust kcal intake.
Recovery: Bakugo is very advanced and efficient so he chooses to destroy himself on days when he works out, and rests very hard on days when he doesn’t. I am no expert on being a jack of all trades and master of all like Bakugo, so just have some patience with extremely average me, attempting to theorize how people like this manage. Bakugo would definitely prefer hot baths and saunas for recovery and is fortunate enough to receive any sports medicine treatments he wants or needs. He probably stretches too, every morning, because he needs to be flexible too.
Here’s one, do it either morning or night:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR0JKN1NmV8
If you are short on time this one works too:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a7URy4pLfw
It goes without saying, you might want to do a Week A PE on Mon, Wed Fri then a Week B Upper/Lower split. Anime people are… built different. This is a fair amount of variety, but the volume is reasonably low to safely combine with the PE program (not recommended).
PE Program: https://at.tumblr.com/trainingforfandom/when-i-eventually-get-around-to-posting-the-bnha/qz8ywl2lrpc7
* Note on Effective Reps: Firstly you can do less, start out 2-3. These reps are a result of failing and then forcing reps which is why all of these exercises are on machines which can easily be dropped. For example this is how it should be done: Warm up the muscle with very light weights, then pick a moderate weight and fail with it, aim to fail between 10-20 reps, take a 30 second rest and then try to get to five, say you fail at 3 because you are tired, take another 30 second rest and crank out the last 2.
Monday: PE + Upper Body
(Warmup: 2x15) 1 x Failure + 5 x Effective reps  Lat Pulldown
(Warmup: 2x15) 1 x Failure + 5 x Effective reps Plate Loaded/Machine Row
3 x 10 Incline Bench Press (relatively light weight)
7 x 3 Overhead Press
2 x Failure Headbanger Chin Ups
2 x Failure Explosive Push Ups
1 x Failure Drop Set Lateral Raises (Ex: Fail 30 lb after 10 reps → Fail 25 lb after 10 reps → Fail 20 lb after 8 reps, ‘cruise the rack’ as far as you feel like. PLEASE RE-RACK YOUR WEIGHTS WITH EVERY CHANGE)
Tuesday: Lower Body
(Warmup: 2x15) 1 x Failure + 5 x Effective reps Hack Squats
4 x 3 Hang Cleans
3 x 10 Romanian Deadlifts
3 x 8 Seiza → Box Jump
2 x 15 per side (30 per side total)  Shrimp Squat
Wednesday: PE + Upper Body
(Warmup: 2x15) 1 x Failure + 5 x Effective reps Plate Loaded/Machine Chest Press
(Warmup: 2x15) 1 x Failure + 5 x Effective reps Machine Shoulder Press
7 x 3 Pendlay Row
2 x Failure Explosive Pull Ups/Front Lever Progression
2 x Failure Drag Curls
3 x 10 Cable Crossover
3 x 10 Dumbbell Rear delt flye
Thursday: OFF
Friday: PE +  Lower Body (Done during the weight room portion of PE while constructively shitting on Todoroki and Deku’s weight room workouts, a bit sad since I’m the author of those workouts)
(Warmup: 2x15) 1 x Failure + 5 x Effective reps Leg Press
3 x 10 Barbell Squats
7 x 3 Nordic Curls (Negative if needed)
3 x 10 Weighted Split Squat
2 x Failure (aim to fail around 10 -15 reps ) Leg Extension
Saturday Bouldering/Hiking/Calisthenics day (Choose 1 Option)
Bouldering Classes (I can’t help you much here, it's great for all the Bakugo muscles, try it if you wish.
-----
Hiking: A long walk would also suffice
-----
Calisthenics:
2 x Failure Pull Ups
30 Sec (per arm) One Arm Dead Hangs Progression
3 x 5 Muscle Ups (Split into Pull Ups and Dips)
Parallel Bar Work: 2-3 chosen movements for about 10-15 mins http://www.gymdrills4profs.com/gymnastics-events/skill-drills-parallel-bars/gymnastics-parallel-bars-swing.php
Sunday: OFF
I'll be honest, offending all the fan-people here: None of us would ACTUALLY be friends with Bakugo. If anyone treated others like that in real life, no matter how smart, and talented, no one in their right mind would like them out of anything but fear. I’m very glad his character is maturing and learning to see humor, but maintaining his distinctive grit.

First, since you're in within the armed forces you a few benefits to enable you to pay for school by your branch within the military. ta88 dang nhap of benefits you ought to look into and find out how much you will get to help you achieve your understanding. You can also take classes on the web so that they do not interfere about your duties all of the military. That is a great to be able to stay flexible and complete out of one's education coupled with military period of time. Military posts often offer things to families at your huge discount - Such as, mall items, groceries, boat rentals, bowling centers, camping sites, libraries, auto care, and golf courses etc. These privileges are reserved for that military family, and out of stock to the general public. Yes, the public has these opportunities; however, may at a considerably higher command. This wonders for the skin part for me personally! Yeah. You hear the 'oh I in order to leave our grandkids and friends'. but think about living in Italy for 3 years, and your kids being bi-lingual by time it's all said and done. How about the chance to see and experience things your friends and family only grow to read about in books and watch on Television. Not only that, you get to get on the government's dime. Do you know how much it is just to be 'hang out' on visit to one of places?? Life insurance can protect your domestic partner. Happen to be states who do not allow domestic partners to be legal beneficiaries. Instead, the money shall pay a visit to the show place. This matter must be discussed along with a lawyer assure that a favorable action can set prior to contacting the insurer. First and foremost, you have devote for education. You probably a few options when it comes to of where (online v .. offline) and their respective discounts. But you will still require pay. You'll end up looking at anywhere from $250 to $800 for the licensing styles. 20. ta88 Check on employment opportunities offered for your school. Most schools have placement offices to help students find part-time employment on environs. As far as the housing money is concerned, this is also something often comes into question. There are a bunch going become some benefits as far as housing is concerned, which could be of advantage of both the G.I. himself and for any military mom that become trying consider advantage of the education also. As far as the housing allowance is concerned, dealing have a great deal to do with all the location where you will be living. It also is determined your number of credits your taking. If everything is the right place, you might receive almost $700 thirty day period for a housing allowance.

Why Should I Choose Cbse Syllabus
Education should be the top priority for every child and parents should make sure they are able to provide the best education for their child so choosing the right school becomes the upmost objective and parents should make sure they do their thorough research in being able to choose the right school for their child.
Although it is debatable as to which board is better but It is the cbse board will have an edge over the state board probably because a common curriculum which would help the transfer of the student become easier to another state, and the curriculum is updated every year which helps the student to develop analytical and logical reasoning skills thorough the assessment pattern which focuses on analytical type of questions.
The educational material at the cbse schools also puts the students in a better position to crack the competitive examinations such as the IIT-JEE and Aims, this is because these schools encourage the students to understand the importance of these examinations.
And unlike the state syllabus the cbse syllabus has a more flexible approach where in the students can hand pick their combination such as a student who is pursuing language and commerce subjects can pick physics as an additional subject which allows the student to be more flexible to choose from the pool of subjects available.
Although there are many schools in Bangalore where school helps the child to develop new skills and foster learning and inculcate good qualities also highlighting the importance of a stress-free education, the curriculum is set in such a way that it provides the students to achieve excellence in learning.
The school also boasts a huge academic excellence as it is noted that 4 students were in the top 5 ranks in the entire state. And it is widely understood the importance of non-academic excellence and we can see this here as there have been many students who have excelled in cultural events taken place at the school level fests. And the school also boasts on its students excelling in the school sports meet where the students have won gold medals in swimming, running and chess and medals in other events as well.
Keeping all these things in mind if you are a parent who’s looking for a school with the best curriculum and cbse syllabus, and a good sports program and which encourages to actively take part in the extra circular activities then I would definitely recommend to try out Soundarya Cbse School as they have all the above things mentioned and they’re with an experienced staff at the helm it is only natural that your child will have the best time both academically and non-academically.

Hello! May I request sfw/nfsw hcs for Corpse (or Sykkuno) x Male reader please? If not that's cool, I hope you have a wonderful day! - 🥀
Corpse Husband and Sykkuno x male reader
Ah, back to my normal format-- WAIT A WILTED FLOWER ANON
Requested: Yes
SFW & NSFW Relationship Headcanons with Corpse and Sykkuno
Corpse Husband
Tumblr media
SFW
My man’s got drip, so if you don’t got drip, he’s probably going to help you dress up.
Imagine matching outfits with Corpse, that’d be so cool.
Painting your nails together is nice bonding time.
He doesn’t go out in public very often, so if you don’t either, that’s great. That said, if you do go out, you’re probably going out together.
Crippling social anxiety ain’t going to stand going outside alone
Corpse doesn’t take care of himself well, so you have to. You’ve got to remind him to shower, brush his teeth, eat, and go to sleep for at least three hours. Don’t pressure him into trying more than three, cuz it’s hard, y’know? And help with the foil
You’ve got to help him with his issues, reassure him he’s good and that he’s enough.
If he’s feeling depressed, you’ve got cuddles for days, though you do have to get up sometime.
If you’re gen z, he'll quote a vine or tiktok and expect you to go along with him. If you don’t know the reference, you’ll get a feigned disappointed look and a small teasing comment.
Sometimes he starts singing his songs while he’s doing something, so follow along with him, it’s cute.
Stargazing and other edgy date ideas are his go-tos.
If you’re dating him and aren’t like a youtuber or internet personality, you’re not allowed in his youtube room.
Maybe he’ll tell you he’s a youtuber, but even if he does, you’re still not allowed.
Coffee, always, every morning
You’re a tea person? Okay, but he’s not drinking any of your stuff, he’s drinking his dirty Earth beans, as Jack calls them.
You’re a coffee person? You wake up to a hot cup of coffee, but not breakfast.
Corpse needs you to cook for him, he’s not the best cook, certainly not the worst, but he likes your food.
Unless you suck at cooking, in that case, he’ll cook.
I don’t see him as much of a physical affection kinda person, apart from cuddling since it’s relaxing.
He’s fine with it cause it’s you, he won’t really take hugs or shake hands with strangers, but you’ve got to initiate everything apart from cuddles and kisses, unless he’s in some sort of love bug mood.
Sometimes he’ll just silently drag you to the bed or couch and plop himself in your lap.
You better get good at reading him, cause sometimes he wants something, but he doesn’t want to be a bother, but he really wants it-- it’s just a mess.
Help raise his self-esteem, too.
NSFW
Once again, you have to initiate everything.
I don’t imagine Corpse is very experienced in being bottom so you have to guide him.
He’ll probably feel like he’s being a nuisance to you, so you have to reassure him he isn’t.
The first time is awkward but once you get comfortable together, he’s good at it.
The first few times he’s a pillow baby, when you get comfortable he might be a brat sometimes. Most of the time, though, he’s a pillow baby.
Corpse loves to please you and do what you ask of him, but he has his boundaries, of course. Things like testing his flexibility too much, hard degrading, knife play, public sex, etc.
He’s probably into slight praise, since he’ll grow a bit desensitised to praise if you use it too much; choking, bondage, overstimulation, orgasm denial, and degrading. How can one be into degrading and praise at the same time, you ask?
✨mood✨
Would probably love you dirty talking to him and making him beg, too.
Favorite position is from behind because you can go deep and you won’t see his face. He gets a little embarrassed from his moans and your gaze on him.
He’s a mix between a moaner and a groaner, more of a moaner though. His moans in comparison to his voice are a way higher pitch, like his laugh to his voice, which is a fact that gets him a little embarrassed.
His voice makes dirty talking amazing, and so is his begging. (For reference, remember that one time he was saying “Please vote Rae” like he was desperate)
He likes receiving but he also loves giving, he gets to pleasure you and choke himself at the same time. His face going down on you is an absolute turn on, it’s so sexy, and the way he smirks up at you.
After care is just cuddles for him, since he feels a little lazy and doesn’t want to get up to clean himself up. He only will if you tell him to.
As for how often you have sex, it depends on you. The only times he’d initiate is sexual tension or special occasions.
Sykkuno
Tumblr media
SFW
He’s inexperienced, since as he says “The ladies aren’t attracted to me.”, which they are but he doesn’t give himself enough credit.
He’s a cuddle bug if you’re alone. That said, he likes showing off that he’s yours in public by holding hands and kissing your cheek, but anything apart from that will render him into a blush.
Sensitive baby, so most pick up lines and flirting make him flustered.
Sykkuno is a disaster in planning dates, he finds a place he wants to go to but he thinks you wouldn’t want to go there, a place you’d like but you end up not liking it, some place you like but he doesn’t, he’s just a mess.
You’ve gotta take care of him, but not as much as Corpse. You have to make sure Sykkuno doesn’t forget to shower and that he eats nutritional meals, rather than only gamer or college student food.
Imagine dressing him up like a soft boy. He’d be so cute. The pastels already go so well with him.
The kisses he initiates are always soft and short and usually don’t drift off into anything else. Anything rougher than a normal kiss would drag out a small moan from his throat, making him embarrassed.
He likes hugging you from behind and resting his head on your back. If you turn around and hug him back, he’s a little flustered. If you nuzzle into him, he’ll get even more flustered.
Cuddles are usually spooning, laying his head on your lap or embracing with a soft blanket over the two of you.
He loves it when you play with his hair, it lulls him into a sleepy state.
Coming out to the internet entirely depends on you. Whether you want to or not, it’s your decision.
If you do, however, you’ll definitely be in plenty of videos, including OTV ones.
NSFW
Also inexperienced here, totally inexperienced.
You’re his guide. He’s a stuttering mess throughout the first few times, and he will always be, though just a little less.
There’s a lot of “umm”s and “uh, okay?” when he doesn’t understand.
Once you actually get to the fucking, he’s a total pillow baby. His moans are so pretty and he mewls and whines along with them.
They’re high pitched and loud, one after the other with small breath breaks.
He pants and sweats a lot from the beginning.
Usually, at the end he has small tears in his eyes. They’re not from pain or anything, they’re from all the pleasure you’re giving him.
He prefers receiving over giving since he doesn’t think he’s very good at giving, that said, his face going down on you is hella cute too.
He has tears in his eyes and his face is flushed red.
His ahegao face is just as beautiful, if not, even more.
Favorite positions would be riding, because he doesn’t want you to do everything, and from behind, because he’s embarrassed about the faces he makes, despite all the praise you give him.
Kinks would probably overstimulation and praise.
After care is totally up to you, since he’s too tired for anything. He will complain about how sticky he feels if you don’t want to get up either, which ultimately urges you to get up and help him.
How often you have sex depends on how Sykkuno is feeling, which could be entirely random.

Sooo remember when I said yandere kids? Yeah so if you were to have kids with the ocs this is what you get
This is only pt1 there will probably be more parts introducing all the big kids
Warning this contains: talk about self harm, abuse, grooming, and other dark topics
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lyric, 15
So you and zeke decided to have a baby
Lyric is a pretty quiet kid
You and Zeke raised lyric to understand that clothes, colors, and style doesn’t have a gender
Cause of this he has a unique style which results in lots of bullies
Has a self harm addiction
Lyric gets into a fight about once a week cause he has bad anger issues
He is allowed to express himself anyway he wants..so he dyed his hair purple
He is like the group therapist always the one listening to their issues
He can’t stop cutting
He likes playing drums and guitar
His passion is photography though
He has to punish himself
His favorite is pictures of cool places mostly areas with neon light at night (even though he knows full well he isn’t allowed to be out too late)
Despite his age He is deemed group leader so if anyone has issues they go to him first
No one can know
All around very chill and easy going
But if you piss him off he is like a raging bull all he sees is red
He is taking anger management classes as well as “medication” (he smokes pot)
Zeke is not allowed to touch his hair and it drives that man crazy
Lyric does his own hair..aka he doesn’t do anything but put oil in and stuff like this boy doesn’t understand the importance of combing your hair everyday
He absolutely terrifies his little sister like she loves him but he scares her bad which is perfect when he has to keep a secret
Tumblr media
Luna, 16
You decide to have a kid with Salem..poor soul.
Luna is very much like her father
When she isn’t being a pervert she is actually pretty amusing
She is such a simp for Kai( rin’s son) but sadly he doesn’t quite feel the same way
She is incredibly smart though like she’s a student council member
She does have a habit of touching places and people that she shouldn’t
Also sneaking into the boy’s bathroom.. yeah that’s an issue
She is constantly trying to tempt the others into being perverted as well
She gets super pouty if no one pays attention to her
Is constantly trying to get boys to touch her body
She doesn’t like when lyric scolds her for being gross
Definitely a masochist
She is pretty serious about school though
Flirts with teachers
Really likes reading romance novels
Is a hopeless romantic
Like she is only a teen and already wants to get married
Has a baby brother that she isn’t fond of
How dare that brat get all of papa’s attention
Tumblr media
Kai, 15
For some reason you decided to have a kid with rin
Kai is....dumb
Like really bad at school
But he is trying his best!
Gained his scars when rin told him to do clown make up with a knife..as a joke
Poor Kai didn’t quite understand that it was a joke
Kai just has a loveable personality
Like no matter who he talks to they find his ditzy behavior adorable
For this he gets away with a lot of stuff
He isn’t too fond of clowns oddly enough
He is definitely into the make up aspect of it though
Like pretty makeup ✨
He is more brawns than brains
Despite this he is a sweetheart who won’t harm a fly
He is definitely a golden retriever boy
The type where you have to explain a joke to him and he still won’t get it
He’s super gullible like you can tell him that the moon is made of cheese and he’ll believe it
Which makes him perfect for doing shady jobs for cash
After all he’ll do anything if you tell him you need help how could he say no to someone in need
He is used to seeing clowns all his life so he knows most of the little clown gimmicks
Is insanely flexible and is amazing at gymnastics
He really loves gymnastics cause it’s such a good workout and he’s actually good at it
Tumblr media
Yuuri,17
Having three parents( two of them being twins) instead of two is a tad confusing but alright
Yuuri was forced to dye his hair purple since he was one years old.
Blue + red = purple
Yuuji definitely traumatized this boy
Yuuri was forced to look exactly like his fathers as much as possible
He rebels against this by growing his hair out and acting out
Is the singer in a rock band
A rebel for sure
Not very good at it though
Like he will cry if you yell at him
Despite this he is constantly loud and hyper
He hangs out with grandpa kenji
Tries so hard to seem dangerous
He can’t even slam a door cause he feels like that’s too aggressive
The only time he seems aggressive at all is when he is singing
He dropped out of school
He still pretends to go though
Grandpa said he’ll make him a star..so why does his body hurt everytime?
Tumblr media
Red, 15
You would think having a kid with Hikaru would equal a normal kid
Nope instead you two get red
His real name is shiro but the group calls him red
Lyric found him soaked in blood behind the school dumpsters
Red is the most chaotic thing in existence
The mask is either fully on his face or pushed to the side
He doesn’t fully take it off
His bangs cover his eyes and it drives Hikaru insane
He doesn’t share the same values for appearance as his father
Red has been seen digging through trash several times
He likes to take trash from the dumpsters and make it into art
He might have hanged around salem a bit too much
Snorts when he laughs
Also is completely insane but that’s besides the point
Him and indigo(Mateo’s son) has a very Jessica rabbit/ Rodger rabbit relationship
He has been known to set stuff on fire
Very artistic
Has a collection of street signs he’s stolen
He worries Hikaru almost everyday
Terrorizes his little brother with a water gun constantly
Has the behavior of a rabid dog
Would not he surprise if he had fleas
Does the dog itch constantly
Yknow scratch his ear with his foot..yeah he does that even if he’s wearing shoes
Has a bad habit of chewing stuff in his mouth from wires to plastic to wood he just can’t help it
Is actually pretty good at school and is smart
Grandpa kenji said that he would help him become an artist
He just has a special way of learning
He is a great friend to the others
But he is 90% the reason they all get group detention at least once a month
He isn’t too fond of modeling or acting despite his father trying so hard to get him to do it
Why does it hurt though?

More headcannons since I have nothing better to do and I'm hyperfixating on nexo knights this evening
-Post season 4, Jestro tried to escape the kingdom before his sentence was over, wanting to start life anew with the company of Roberto maybe since they're the only one who were still okay with him
-He almost managed. When I mentioned all the electrical charge he still had in him, he used it to cut out the power in the place he was held in and ended up knocking out all the dependent power in the capital. After that he barely had any charge left in him, which is good since it's not supposed to be there in the first place
-Only after the knights caught him was when they were willing to listen to his side of the story
-After that, he stayed with the knights in the fortrex and was able to roam around towns freely if there was someone keeping watch on him. Forests and other places were okay though
-Jestro has some minor sourness towards Merlok because of multiple small reasons and refuses to see him as a hero to all of Knightonia
-He criticizes (in his mind) his lack of thinking when protecting the kingdom, his lack of ability to keep Monstrox as a book away, the fact they never got rid of him, how he hid the fact he's Clay's uncle, how quick he is to give up and how much he found out the Wizard council is corrupt which Merlok is a part of. Also the fact he probably keeps even more secrets, said straight to his face "Can't wait for you to reveal another major secret when it's too late." and to be truthful, Jestro is right for not fully trusting Merlok, they have many secrets that shouldn't be left hidden.
TW: MENTIONS OF SCARS (safe to read after the " - - - - - "line)
.
.
.
.
- Jestro has a large lightning shaped scar that goes down the left side of his back and reach till his calfs
- He also has scars from being zapped in the head, but his hair is puffy and long enough to cover them fully since they're not at the top of his head
-A few burn scars are just scattered around his body from his first possession. Living in a castle of lava was dangerous even though he had a minor immunity to it
-He never dared to let go of the staffs he had and managed to keep excellent guard on them, his grip on them always vicious. It resulted in calloused palms.
-Since it always annoyingly stung, he had bandages wrapped around his palms to let them heal a bit
-During his second possession, Jestro was very detached from most of his senses and emotions. All he knew is that he was alive and served the purpose of bringing chaos and destruction.
-That caused him to be less receptive to things he should avoid, like anything that could lightly harm him, jumping off of high places, falling, bruising himself on accident. His body wasn't in a state that a human could bare so he never even noticed if he was cold or not, it wasn't natural blood that was flowing through his veins after all.
-unfortunately there definitely are lives that were lost to his hands
--------------------------------------
-Looking at him in seasons 3-4 just made me cold. Man barely had any of his outfit left
-He's a runner, he's a trackstar. This young man can run further than any of the knights. He's ran away from dangers and problems his whole life. He's short, but his legs are relatively long and he doesn't find it hard to run since he's trained to be light on his feet.
-His flexibility is frightening. You will see him casually relaxing in an unnatural position for sure. He would often use his flexibility as a sort of intimidation thing in seasons 3-4, looking like some type of spider with his body movement. If he were to start approaching you, his ragdoll body would seem a lot more terrifying than you first may think
-He offers to help the Knights do some flexibility exercises since their lack of ability to even do a decent split pains him
-Since he stays with the knights post season 4, that's when he starts to help them exercise and spends more time with them casually as well as joins them for morning runs
-With a little help, he decided to make himself useful and with enough knowledge, became a sort of aid to the knights, helping them with any injuries after battles or training.
-The best weapon he can work with is a spear or daggers (anything light), though he still refuses to train with any weapon.
-This poor man now avoids any sort of magic like it's a plague, afraid to get involved with it as his body is too receptive to it.
-He still encourages Clay to carefully train his magic though.
-This man surprisingly has some knowledge of programming (inspired by the season 5 episode 1 script)
-Due to that, he sort of found something he could talk about with Robin and Ava. And even if he doesn't know much, he knows enough to keep the conversation going
-He got along with Ava and Robin pretty quickly and enjoys the fact they don't try and expect something from him
-Since he's usually in the fortrex while the Knights are on missions, he ended up spending enough time with these two children to become a sort of big brother, caretaker figure. Not a big one, but he still tries to help them
-He understands Ava and Robin a lot and doesn't enjoy the pressure that is always placed on the two of them since they're still young so if there's any way for him to deny any non priority requests the knights have for the two of them, he doesn't hesitate to do so unless it's something Ava and Robin want to work on
-After a nightmare, Jestro gets very bad, but thankfully temporary paranoia and there's no reasoning with him, best to try and comfort him and wait it out.
-He once tried to visit the lava village since he doesn't remember the negative view the lava monsters have on him
-He considered himself to not be too harsh on them since he sometimes encouraged breaks and would spoil them with tasty treats, just like he later did with the stone monsters, even when he was a lot more detached around that time.
-Turns out, the Lava monsters were n o t glad to see him, but thankfully had no intentions to hurt him
-They did tell him some hurtful words and tried to violently kick him out
-Jestro was in such shock from that, but nevertheless, did his best to quickly apologize and show how genuine it was since the lava monsters were the closest thing he ever had to a family. They were always there and were capable to be genuine and had amazing dreams. Their warmth gave him comfort and that's what he confessed in his apology
-Reluctant, the Lava monsters forgave him, but Jestro still felt a bit detested from what they had said about him earlier. Which left him in shock for quite a bit since nothing hurt him more than words, everyone knows that by now.
-Good thing though, he fixed his relationship with them quickly though! And now is an awaited guest at the village all the time. Often times participating in the activities of each lava monster. Especially Magmar's cookie baking and the bakery's work
-Another thing he avoids like a plague is any student or teacher he sees from the Academy he went to. He could not handle any confrontation with them and is most detested by those people.
-while after season 2, people saw Jestro more as an annoyance and as trouble to still be allowed to do as he please. After the events of season 4, Jestro actually managed to strike fear in many of these people since the kingdom was severely damaged after these two, you could say, monster wars.
-He has a mild liking for animals like reptiles or those most people dislike, like rats or Hyenas so when he was once at the zoo with the other knights, he admired the serpent exhibit and at the same time had to stop Clay from losing his mind since Clay has a fear of snakes.
-After he managed to ease his attachment to his Jester attire, he once exited the bathroom after a shower without his hat and with some random sweater and sweatpants and was almost beaten up because the knights thought he was an intruder.
-Clay was the only one that ever actually saw or touched Jestro's hair
-Jestro's first hat was actually made by his mother and since he didn't want to let go of it when he became a Jester, he altered it to be a Jester had, but kept the same material
-He has vague memories of his mother, the nicknames she gave him, the toys he used to have, but has absolutely zero information about his father.
Lmao I'll make part 3 right after this since I have a lot more ideas, but just don't want to stuff them into one post

Using notation to understand the world
This post was originally an article in my Gemini capsule. You can read it in its gemtext form here. Note that since Tumblr does not like Gemini links this actually goes to the HTTPS mirror.
Notation is the idea that an arbitrary object can be represented by some other abstract object. A specific type of notation, which is the one most people would understand in the conventional sense of the word “notation”, is when the object doing the representing is written. Commonly seen examples of notation include those that represent maths, music, electrical circuits and even lists of key-presses. In this article I discuss how notation has shaped my understanding of things, and also propose a notation-oriented way of understanding something.
How to understand something
There was an xkcd comic that goes something like this:
My hobby:
Sitting down with grad students and timing how long it takes them to figure out that I'm not actually an expert in their field.
In the end, the protagonist of the comic managed to find a field of study where he successfully made inroads into a community by producing words in the right order to pass for genuine knowledge.
This made me think about how someone would go about successfully fake knowledge of something. Eventually, I came up with this two-step process:
Understand the language, and how to recognise something as a correct statement.
Understand how to combine statements together to form a correct third statement.
I brought this up with someone, and he noted that by the time you have done both of these things, you aren’t faking knowledge of something, you now understand it.
In my opinion that isn’t strictly true, but it does come a lot closer than other processes. A studied reader might recognise this as reminiscent of a Chinese room, where someone can fake knowledge by reading in written text (i.e. a question) and responding according to a translation book.
While it may look like a Chinese room at first, a critical difference is that in a Chinese room, the translation book is something external to the operator, whereas the situation I came up with requires you to memorise it. While a rote memorisation would result in something almost entirely identical, a common occurrence with human minds is that it like to take shortcuts, and it is there where the situation becomes markedly different, as the shortcuts are now a form of understanding where you can now produce correct statements without memorising any translation book.
Additionally, a second form of understanding is to be able to generalise from the words you are given. A translation book can give you some rules, but when a human reads it the experience is that he will try to generalise from the existing rules and make up new ones in the vein of the ones he was given. This is expressed in a number of ways – notably some of them are quite distasteful – but the key here is that there is a point where a human would try to expand the rules that he was given and apply it to something unrelated just to see if it works. (Though, in some cases, “just to see if it works” is replaced with “and assume it works”, leading to all kinds of consequences that are beyond the scope of this article.)
Let’s now move away from dry theoretical explanations and show how this applied to me by way of example.
Making your own – the C. C. F. D. N.
The problem statement
When I was 17 I was very bad at Chinese. I am still fairly bad at Chinese, which we’ll get to later.
The main problem with writing Chinese is that sinograms – what the language is written in – are taught badly to me. I could not really understand any of the logic behind writing these unusual things, and what real information was given to me was not well-organised. What that means effectively is that I was stuck writing in a language where I have to reason about strokes from first principles, and just like trying to write a program in assembly language, it means that I missed out in understanding other parts of the language, particularly the things that are in the curriculum, which means that I failed many tests.
Then one day a friend of mine started learning Japanese, and then he had to deal with sinograms as well. But since I’m familiar with them already, I decided to help a little bit. This amounted to looking up the character in Wiktionary and then reporting on its pronunciation and its graphic etymology, both of which are helpful in understanding why a character is written and pronounced (some of the time) the way it is. However, looking up many of these characters realise that a lot of the information is repetitive and redundant. So I then built a little notation to condense it down into something that cuts away all of that.
The notation itself
The result is the Chinese Character Form Description Notation. The exact form of the notation is not needed to make my point, but we’ll discuss it as an aside here anyway. The notation describes the graphic etymology of the character by breaking it apart into its components. For instance, the character “to think” 思 is derived by combining a meaning-carrying component of “heart” 心 with a sound-carrying component of 囟, which was later simplified into the unrelated character 田. Putting that together, the notation would write the above sentence as:
思 = <心|囟→田>
Which summarises all of what I just wrote in an appealing string of symbols. Additionally, this separates it from an existing notation in Unicode called the ideographic description sequence, which instead describes how a character can be broken down in its current form.
Consider now another character, “small, narrow, fine”, which is 細. If I now provide its C. C. F. D. N., you would easily be able to figure out what its graphic etymology is, even without me spelling it out, if I mentioned that the meaning-carrying component 糸 means “fibre, rope, string”:
細 = <糸|囟→田>
But look now that 細 and 思 don’t look too alike, as their corresponding IDS would make explicit. I had not expected that the two are related quite like this – their pronunciations are also quite a bit different – and now that I have made that connection I realised that I had something in my hands that is valuable.
Ultimately, the notation I have invented for myself made everything click together in my head, and it cleared up almost everything that had been blocking me from being able to move away from focusing on what I write and instead focusing on what the writing means on a more abstract level. It wasn’t enough to eventually make me pass my exams, but I feared the language a lot less than I had before I built the notation.
(In a sense, while it was helpful it would never have come on time; reflecting on what I did in my secondary school years it was fairly clear to me that this was a thing that would have troubled me for as long as it did no matter how I did it, and I would have rejected this notation if it was handed onto me the same way that all those other explanations have.)
How the notation changed the way I think
The key to the notation’s success is, in my opinion, the following:
First, it is general. It can break apart a large number of characters and describe their etymologies in a succinct manner. There are very few sinograms where it cannot handle it at all, and in those cases it is typically because the character has an unknown graphic etymology and therefore can’t be described, though undoubtedly there is going to be a couple that would slip behind the cracks. I can’t take full credit for this one, as it is based on an existing method of classifying sinograms.
I will however say that the way I designed (?) this notation allows me to grasp the recursive nature of this classification and furthermore allow me to gain a foothold in scripts that use things that resemble sinograms but are not, such as Sawndip.
Second, it is manipulable. What you can change and in what ways are easily read out by looking at the notation. Whether or not it describes an actual character is another question, but you can basically always produce a valid formula for generating a character and hint at its meaning and pronunciation using the notation. This will prove invaluable if I were to build a script that has similar properties to Chinese characters, this is exactly how I would start approaching it.
Third, it is not clever. The key to a proper notation is that it represents the thing that it does straightforwardly, in such a way that allows one to verify that it is in fact representing what it claims to. This allows me to hook onto it and adapt myself into seeing the notation at the same time I am presented with the character.
Finally, it is flexible. Notice that in the above examples the sinograms are described in terms of other sinograms. There’s no particular reason why those sinograms are chosen. In fact, you can replace those characters with their descriptions, allowing a full drill-down of the character and describing how every little bit came to be in a simple manner. This property allows you to hide away details when such detail is not needed but still permit an exhaustive description if it is.
Reading an existing notation
In real life sometimes an existing notation is already available, and if it is it would probably be better than any notation that you would be able to make when studying it, as it is referencing the entire body of knowledge that it is built on rather than just what a student might learn as he builds it for himself. With that in mind, if one were to understand something by its notation it is prudent to understand an existing notation first before trying to make one’s own.
To this end, I would say that it is helpful to learn something by referencing its notation. Specifically, the question to ask is “how do you write this down, and why do you choose to write it this way?” This question can be asked in multiple contexts and expect multiple answers. What “this” in the question is differs depending on the exact thing you are studying, and the “why” could be surface-level “why this symbol over another” or a deeper “why arrange the symbols in this way”.
Once you learn the notation, the next step is, as hinted at earlier in this article, to learn how to combine two true statements written in that notation into a third one also written in that notation. In a sense, this task is much harder than the other two; if we apply it to, say, English, the first is “reading and spelling” and the second is the entirety of English grammar and literature. The key to this is not to complete the task, but instead to basically learn the subject “the normal way” but using the notation as a centrepiece to unify everything you learnt into it, so that you have a way to relate everything to everything else.
Consider how this can be applied to chords and music theory: you learn what notes correspond to which chords and how to write down changes to those chords, and then you can combine the chords together as simple letters on a page to form music. This is an iterative process: you learn what chords go together nicely based on existing theory, mirror it in the notation, and then generalise it in the notation before turning it back into notes and seeing if it appeals. Doing this correctly, you will both increase your understanding of music theory and also have a nice way of generating music.
Another example where the idea of learning by notation has been successfully applied (but not by me) is site-swap notation in juggling, where someone wrote down sequences of digits to describe how balls are thrown in. The inventor eventually discovered a new way of juggling (called “5551” in the notation) just by looking at the notation.
Shortcomings
It is only fair to discuss situations where notation-oriented learning is not the approach to take when learning something.
Sometimes there is no existing notation, whether because the experts have decided that writing bits of ink on a page is not sufficient for the field, or no one has thought of it, or even that all the existing ones have failed to gained currency because it doesn’t perform or there are too many competing ones. In most of these cases you can get around it by attempting to make your own. You can make this work if you know yourself well, and perhaps even present it to the community as as a way to understand the field itself.
Some people don’t take kindly to writing things down, especially in the more artistic field of study where notation might be perceived as constraining to a creative mind, and even knowledge of the existence of some notation is considered harmful because you’re always supposed to learn things “the hard way”, i.e. without any aid whatsoever, much less written ones. Whether one chooses to heed those warnings or proceed anyway is up to individual preference, but in a notation-averse community – for any reason – perhaps it would not be the best idea to show that community your new home-grown notation.
Summary
One of the ways that I have learnt something is to create a notation system for it. This involves figuring out how to write existing facts in that notation, and then how to create new things by altering the notation and seeing what the results in back in the original object that the notation depicts. I found this to be a greatly useful way to understand topics in general and a central point from which to handle unknown fields of knowledge from, while also acknowledging that there are some fields and probably some would-be learners that may not be suited to this way of learning.

Talking about the smidgens we saw of Gale, the wizard of Waterdeep.
[Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access Spoilers]
Updated, AGAIN, because the hell of new aspects we saw when some bugs were sorted out. Warning:  all this analysis was done for game versions 4.1.83 and 4.1.84
Well, I had to rewrite all this because the explorations of dialogue options and the bugs being, somehow, solved, allowed me to see small details from Gale that stand out or end up being more than curious to me. I'll list his main features to make things short (hopefully), and useful for... eventual fics:
Gale is a char who approves any good treatment to animals (and creatures in general). He has a cat, a Library, and writes poetry sometimes.
He doesn't like gratuitous murdering which is implied in the anecdote he told us about how he stopped a massacre in a Waterdeep city inn just by buying a round to everyone. It is also implied in his approval in most situations; even in the one with the ogres having sex.
He gives you disapproval most of the time if you use violence and intimidation as your first approach in solving a situation. He prefers eloquence, diplomacy, and negotiation. However, he is flexible enough to approve a performance-intimidation in front of goblins to avoid bloodshed. Point (2) is primary. So... he truly is a pragmatic char. It's not white and black: “never use intimidation/lie” or that kind of over-simplistic view.
He likes logical and reasonable conversations. An action that earned his disapproval can be undone if the main char (MC) talks to him and explains their reasons. You can disagree with him without having approval penalties most of the time. You can question many situations and, as long as it remains a mental exercise, there are no penalties. That surprised me a lot. Most characters disapprove you if you wonder about a potential situation, but Gale no. He is the scholar, he will allow a safe space to think around things without being too judgemental. We will see if this attitude lasts in the full game. No wonder some players see in him “the Teacher” archetype. Quite so.
He was an Arch wizard while being Mystra's Chosen One, and fell from grace when she put him aside. What is hard for me to grasp is if he remained Chosen One and therefore able to cast silver-fire during that intermediate period when he stopped having Mystra's whispers and his folly with the netherese taint. We know that in that moment Mystra removed herself from his life completely. But before, she has only stopped whispering and sleeping with him. So far I understand, being her Chosen One doesn't imply sleeping with her, most of the time.
He was a teacher (not surprising, since his over-explanation vices and details such as the pronunciation of “Trashj” make us suspect it), and had some students that he could not keep longer since their ineptitudes irked him.
Unlike the stereotypical “scholar” type, he knows how to cook, since he has been doing stews for the party in the camp. He also loves baths. A bit siding with the stereotypical “scholar” type, but a nice change for a “standard adventurer” type, in which most of the time it is implied that they are stinky with “animalistic” scents and uglier descriptors. No, Gale likes his lavender-scented baths. Good.
He is an over-thinker strategist. And also a char who takes responsibility for his own mistakes to the point that, when he dies for the first time, a programmed image is activated to help anyone to revive him. Despite the fact that he is dead and can give a shit about that, he is still responsible of the catastrophe that may happen if that weird magic orb stuck in his chest erupts.
He is also forcing me to check the dictionary like no other game has done in a while... the fucker uses uncommon words a lot of the time. Smidges? really? Gale is a hard char for a non native English speaker.
We can assume that during his teenage time, he was a pretty prideful peacock to the point to be blind at the reality (well, yeah, he romanced a goddess; if that doesn't give you a hell of a ego boost...) He remembers his young self's pride with a thick level of regret. He is now a mature scholar that, for a change, does not patronise you or thinks of himself better than anyone. Sure, he over-explains a lot, but that's something that most scholars/teachers do when they are worried that, maybe, they won't be understood.
He is confident in his years of study (for that reason he is a capable wizard despite having lost Mystra's favours), but he acknowledges his limits. Which is a nice change to see in the “scholar” archetype, the typical know-it-all. He knows a lot, he knows that he knows (it would be ridiculous to hide his knowledge), but he is human, and like he says: “humans are fallible”. However, it’s more than obvious that he has a big ego for everything he does, which makes sense since he follows a motto in his life: “try to excel at everything”. High accomplished scholar lifestyle, indeed.
If you don't share the Weave with him, he will state that nights are lonesome. It seems he truly is looking for some connection with a keen fellow mind. Probably it's this loneliness which triggers his urge to see Mystra's face during the night. We also know he, in general, lives in constant fear due to the Netherese taint in his chest. So, very lonely, and very scared.
I don't know if this is his poet side unable to be switched-off or it's another implication of how he sees sexual encounters: he never says sex (at least in my many runs, he never did it). He always gets around the word: love-making, art of the body, intimacy. For a scholar who is so prone to use the technical word for everything, and has already stated he is not coy at all, the use of these metaphors make me wonder if it's because he always conceives sex as something more than mere physical pleasure. For him, it seems to come with a more emotional connection (which makes sense if we think he will only sleep with those who connected to him through the Weave). Another small detail that may confirm this is when he asks the MC if the “other night” was wonderful. If MC claims it was “fun”, Gale shows a certain degree of uneasiness by that word choice, making us infer that he certainly doesn’t see sex as “fun” but as something else, deeper.
His tadpole dreams are about Mystra (rather obvious). His most desperate desire is forgiveness. Mystra's forgiveness.
Mystra was his first love. The affair did not last long. And since soon after her abandonment he looked for the Primal Weave book and was infested by it; one could assume he has been focused on solving his problem for the rest of his life than putting some energy in romance, especially if we think about (13). It's hard to say with certainty (especially with banters like these), but since he is a char that you can only sleep with if you share a mind-connection through the Weave, it seems less plausible that he could encourage into casual relationships during all this period of his life looking for a solution to the Netherese orb. If he got previous relationships, they may have been meaningful, but clearly not enough to win over the goddess’ and his urges to see her, lol.
He did not mind Mystra having many other lovers besides him. It seems to be the same with the MC, since he will insist in sleeping with them even after the party and even after the MC slept with someone else (however, that only occurs if the romantic connection through the Weave happened.) This fact combined with (13) and (15) make me wonder if he certainly wants to be with the MC too badly, even in an open relationship. We need to see the rest of his romance to be sure.
Since he looks for forgiveness so desperately, he is a char who will forgive most mistakes made by the MC if they acknowledge them.
He is a char who knows how grey and complex situations can be. This is inferred by the way he speaks of the tiefling girl who tried to steal the idol in the Grove: “She is not innocent, but that doesn't mean she is guilty.” (of course there is a lot of self projection there). This is also implied in his (surprising) approval of raising Mayrina's husband and giving her the control wand to search for a solution in Neverwinter. That shows that he can accept the fuckest weirdest situations, recognising that “sometimes we can’t choose situations but we can try to do our best, not always having the best results”. Also self-projection.
He appreciates his privacy to the point to leave the MC if the abuse of the tadpole power continues. However, and honouring (4), you can abuse of these powers and convince him with reasons: if you don't lie to him and explain that you have a responsibility with the group to know what happens with his secret, he will understand, and despite disapproving the MC actions, will remain without major troubles.
Certainly, as long as you give him reasons and logical concepts, he can almost understand everything with no disapproval or at least little one.
Consent and negotiation are vital to him, apparently. However, this aspect reaches a flaw. He was too angry with Nettie when she almost killed the MC, and he made a short speech about how nobody has the right to decide your options for you. Yet, in his romance scene, we see that he deliberately hid his true relationship with Mystra and his bomb-condition in order to sleep with the MC. In fact, during the party, if the MC tells him that doubts if he is the one they want, Gale will drop a curious argument: “That’s because you’ve yet to find out what your’re missing” (implying that he himself is what you need), followed by his most curious “Doubt is a spoilsport. Cast it aside”. That coming from a scholar is rotten, lol. He tries every convincing argument to sleep with the MC (if they shared the moment of the Weave, of course)
This happens in every variation of the path: whether the MC sleeps with him in the party, or afterwards, Gale will always wait for sharing a night with the MC before speaking the truth. It's hard to read this aspect since, he is a char who, apparently, needs a mind-connection with his partner for intimacy (see (12) and (13)); so this terrible strategy is like his way of trying to guarantee that the MC will not abandon him. I guess there is something along those line, specially if we keep in mind the book he explained: a book which is not only about the art of the body and the night and sex, but of other things such as conversation, exploration, and acceptance of oneself and the other. He is expecting with this night to reach the MC to a certain degree of intimacy in which, despite the raw truth, the acceptance will prevail. Remembering (16), he truly wants to sleep with the MC, baaaadly. And somehow everything feels like he wants to push things in a subtle way to a certain degree of commitment. Following the concept in (12), I think he has been alone for too long, and desperately needs someone in his lonesome nights and in helping him to deal with his burden. Finding someone who connected to him through the Weave (such a personal experience for him as it is) made him a bit desperate or eager. We know his emotion for the MC may have grown over those days since the connection with the Weave. In two occasions he or the MC can ask if both of them think about that moment. Gale says yes with such enthusiasm, that it may imply...that maybe, he has been thinking about that more times than he truly wants to tell the MC. The Weave moment had such a strong effect on Gale that, if the MC spent the night with another companion and rejects Gale’s proposition later, he will trail off a sentence that implies he was convinced that the MC and he were heading into something serious and deep.
Of course, once he sleeps with the MC, he confesses the truth right afterwards, accepting--without approval penalties--the harshest responses that the MC can give. He clearly knows that such manoeuvre was truly disloyal, especially contrasting it with all his speech of consent and rights to know about the true situation one is in. In the next morning, he acknowledges it was a rotten thing to do and apologies. But this shows that his principles can be bend and even be broken when it comes to emotions. I'm still a bit wary of his emotional stability, what can I say.
Mystra is more than an ex-lover for him, it’s magic. And Magic is everything for him, even more than life. I wonder if, given the opportunity, Mystra forgives him and asks him to return to her side, would he accept it without second thoughts leaving the romanced MC? It's true he also acknowledges that all that fascination he had with the goddess was a product of his youth; he knows he was a plaything in her hands. But I don't see he got over with it. He still idealises her, as such a good poet does. Idealisation, especially when a Goddess is involved, is a terrible thing to fight against for the next partner. No matter what speech of loyalties and consent he states during the whole game, the MC knows that magic and Mystra are Gale's Achilles’ heel, and factors in which they  can’t predict his behaviour.
We also know that, because his bomb-condition, he tries to take all the opportunities to enjoy the little things of life that make him human.
Gale is a straightforward and honest (mostly, let's say) char. But we can see that he prefers to be honest in most situations, except in his Achille’s heel. Even when he wanted to hide all the stuff about the bomb in his chest, he did it by explicitly warning us that he was hiding something he did not want to talk about. Which is an honest approach considering the hardcore burden he carries and the immediate rejection it can mean if the truth unfolds too quickly among strangers.
When it comes to concepts, Gale has the symbol of the storm attached to him. So far, we see he talks comparing things with storms or storm elements: his lack of knowledge to explain why they are not Mind Flayers yet: the silence before the storm; the fear that rushes into his body when the Weave orb asks him for magic to consume: the thunder of a storm reverberating in his soul, the day it will erupt: the lightning striking, the consumption of magic: water running through a sore throat, Life itself: a tempest. When he asked the player if they were a wizard, he explains that he needs an Arch wizard and compares them with a Tempest. If we see the main image of Baldur's gate 3, it's clear that his main element is electricity/storm... so... full witch-bolt-guy here.
[updated later] The Weave moment is important to romance Gale. Leaving the moment in ambiguity will give the MC another opportunity to make their intentions clear during the scene of the Loss. However, remaining vague will lock Gale into a friendship path. What happens during this scene may suggest that the ambiguity in the Weave was enough to keep Gale thinking about the romantic possibility, but he will not engage into it by his own, which confirms (15). Unless the opportunity presents itself clearly before him, he will not pursue the MC. Further details [here].
Last moment detail: Gale says “I cherish you” when he explains he will await death alone if the Netherese orb goes out of control. I was not sure if that meant something more or less than love or like (I can’t not overlook the subtle meaning of the words coming from Gale’s mouth, he is a poet and his word choices matter). Checking the dictionary I found that “cherish” (in a relationship) is defined as to hold or to treat as dear, to feel love for and to care for someone deeply and tenderly. This man went straight into a commitment relationship without thinking it twice, and without (I believe) the MC knowing it either xD.
Let's see how these characteristics shift or develop deeper once the full game is out there. Now we have to wait a lot :(

What Everyone Ought to Know about Virtual Reality Gaming
Tumblr media
HMD that can be utilized with a smartphone for experiencing the simulated world of the electronic game. Both the technologies can co-exist in the market, however, a cautious merging of reality and digital world that takes place in Augmented Reality Programming is a far better choice than a separate area for the digital world. As these applied sciences mature, customers will come to count on digital actuality from their favorite entertainment platforms and companies. Some platforms even offer you the flexibility to vary perspective so you’ll always have the best view of the action. Are also thought of a medium for studying the staff building capability in the corporate world. The flexibility for a consumer to grow to be absolutely immersed in virtual actuality shouldn't be an exaggeration. Even in less advanced experiences, the consumer shortly adjusts to their surroundings. Video video games like Zelda, Halo, or Harry Potter allow gamers to enter into an setting and work together with objects, however they don't permit the participant to create an environment and that is what virtual worlds are all about. Through game play players be taught actual life flight concepts like roll, yaw, pitch, raise, drag and so on. Professional flight colleges use a few of the realistic flight games to train pilots.
Tumblr media
Specifically, schools will probably be making large investments in bringing classes to life by the power of virtual reality. You might need heard some declare that digital actuality know-how will quantity to nothing but a niche gaming expertise, however this couldn't be further from the truth. Here now we have selected a few of our hottest VR advertising and marketing campaigns. The PlayStation VR information is useful right here. Unless you’ve been living underneath a rock, you’d know that a number of assured tech corporations have really been trying to accomplish this feat - notably, HTC (Vive), Facebook (Oculus) and Sony (PlayStation VR). In my personal virtual actuality rig (which is paired with a Valve Index), I have a NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super, a Ryzen 5 3600, and 16 GB of RAM. In the previous few years, developers like Oculus and HTC have labored to make virtual reality more accessible and more inexpensive. It will solely grow as extra companies build buyer-centric experiences with VR. At OC6, Zuckerberg made quite a lot of exciting announcements together with the introduction of hand-tracking, new social VR experiences with Facebook Horizon, and increased headset efficiency with the Oculus Link.
All these Oculus updates intention to make virtual reality more social. Meanwhile, ps4 vr games list read much more articles about social network gone dangerous. Data extraction: Thirty-eight articles met inclusion standards. The info we gathered is echoed in nationwide studies that predict virtual reality with grow exponentially over the next 5 years. Out of an inventory of eleven industries emerged 5 key industries: travel, education, healthcare, real property, and retail. Very similar to navy training, some gadgets utilized in medical schooling, particularly, are very expensive to both use and produce. That is something a mannequin, historically used in medical coaching, can't replicate. You will also get 2 dedicated staff members, a meals and drink package deal, gear coaching, digital banner and on the time of booking you'll obtain a occasion bag that includes invitations, a VRtual branded t-shirt, play passes, stickers and more. UPS is utilizing the HTC Vive to train drivers to be more observant on the highway and improve driver security. The Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles is experimenting with a digital trauma heart to train its doctors to assess and execute remedies for trauma patients shortly. By implementing digital actuality in the classroom, college students will achieve a greater understanding of spatial structures, language associations, and lesson content.
A research by the University of Maryland found that digital reality contributed to extra motivated college students and larger data retention. With quite a lot of digital reality headsets and an increasing library of high quality entertainment, Mark Zuckerberg expects more non-gaming customers to heat-up to proudly owning their very own headset. Since digital actuality is a brand new type of entertainment, it will probably introduce new filmmaking methods and incorporate other senses like touch and odor. Next degree entertainment, FREAK is an immersive virtual reality gaming venue, that combines leading edge multiplayer video games, unbelievable 4D effects and curated physical spaces that will help you enterprise past reality. What is your familiarity with with digital actuality previous to the VR Roadshow occasion? Take a look at our VR Roadshow video beneath. A way of depth and house is created with sound whereas you’re exploring and battling it out in your VR setting. Ultimately, if you’re looking for an inexpensive headset to boost the expertise of movies or videos, this is a great alternative with high-finish optics and a solid build.

Title: A Tale of Two Slaves (3/17)
Summary:  “Soulmates don’t exist. Fate doesn’t exist. Everything is a choice.” At that moment, Levi could only watch as she made the choice for him.“
Reincarnation AU. Levi remembers everything from their past life. Hange doesn’t.
Note: This has been sitting on my computer untouched for a while, along with the timeline I prepared for a multichapter fic. Will probs go back to it soon. Feedback is very much appreciated.

The forms were so painfully boring, Levi almost regretted agreeing to meet Moblit. One of the few things, if not the only thing, stopping him from backing out of the study then and there, was the hope it could give him an excuse to see her again. He planned to ease himself into the process of meeting her, not wanting to make a complete fool or a complete stalker of himself.
There was the option to ask for her number. The option to ask for her schedule. Or he could maybe just scan through enough pages on google to find some hint as to what the hell she does, where she goes and where he could possibly “accidentally” meet her. The last option had proved ineffective, Levi spent a good few hours a day doing just that. Just in case maybe, the links he found through google do change.
The sheer embarrassment and conflicted feelings that came with having delusion drive his actions, had Levi worse off than before. Although the nightmares that left him in pain in the mornings had become few and far between, he could not help but think that possibly the reason why was because he barely got any sleep anymore, kept awake by his brain trying to process that relationship he had with Hange and the story that was made known to him.
His five hours a night had dwindled into three when classes started. His brain having no time to process the dreams during classes and training, Levi found himself taking up more time lying awake in bed, building the world his dreams were telling him about and how Hange fit into all of it.
The lack of sleep caught up to him particularly when he was sifting through the pages of waivers and information sheets in the coffee shop near campus at nine in the morning. The words started to blur into blobs and Levi became aware of how much he hated Calibri as a font, a small issue in the grand scheme of things. Lacking sleep and utterly frustrated at his lack of progress though, Levi was finding many reasons not to read them.
He eventually gave up, instead checking box after box after box. “When do you need this?” Levi asked Moblit who sat in front of him.
“As soon as possible… But I really recommend you read ---”
“Well, how much time are you gonna give me to read?”
“I don’t have any classes today so I’m pretty much free the whole day.”
“Same.” He felt the venom in his tone particularly resonate and a part of him regretted it as he said it. That day was particularly special. He had no class. With their coach out on a meeting with other schools to discuss the tournaments and line ups this year, he had given the players a day off. Levi pretty much had that whole day to himself yet, he still went to the trouble of dressing up just to meet Moblit only to find out he’d be going through pages worth of documents while half awake. “I’ll just get a cup of coffee.”
Levi was already halfway out of seat when Moblit took out his wallet.
“Let me pay for it.” Moblit handed Levi a few bills. He had an apologetic look on his face as if he did understand the inconvenience the study would cause anyone. The look Moblit gave him suddenly made Levi self conscious about the tone he had been answering Moblit with since a while ago.
Levi took the money with a small nod of thanks. It was free coffee after all and he did not have much leeway given his monthly allowance.
When Levi got back to their table black coffee in one hand, he could see that Moblit had reorganized the papers, the uncompleted page sitting neatly on top. He had also opened the sandwich he had bought half an hour ago and was eating it already
“Before I forget, did you bring Hange’s keychain?” Moblit asked in between bites.
“Ah, I forgot about that.” Levi kept his tone emotionless for fear of having his guilt take over him. In fact, he never did forget about the keychain. It sat on the side table next to his bed, a glimmer of hope that that morning in the track wouldn't be the last time he saw her.
“Maybe I could come back to your dorm with you and get it after this?”
“Oh yeah, I forgot. I’m not going straight to the dorm. I have plans after this.” A blatant lie. Levi rarely forgot plans.
“Really?”
Levi made a show of going through his phone as he sat down. “Sorry, I didn’t check my calendar this morning. It looks like I have to work on my own stuff for my thesis with my groupmates.” Seniors did not have as many classes as lowerclassmen so the excuse for classes probably would not have worked. As Levi also was aware, the weight of the responsibility lost by only having two classes a week was replaced with the weight of the expectation of creating their own research to add to the body of knowledge in their major.
“How long is your meeting? Maybe I could stop by...” Moblit looked unsure about his own suggestion as if he too understood too the importance of thesis for any senior.
“I dunno. It’s our first meeting and it’s pretty important since we still don’t have much planned.” At that moment, Levi thanked the heavens for his course. He was taking an interdisciplinary track so people had the option to do their thesis by group or individually. His choice of his classes had made it so that he had to do his thesis individually. Moblit did not need to know that much though.
The magic word “thesis” eventually did work in the conversation between the two seniors and finally, Moblit had dropped his shoulders in defeat. “Sorry if I’m being a little pushy. I guess that keychain is just pretty important to me too. I was the one who gave it to her.”
Levi studied the face of Moblit as they talked. Molit did not have the most memorable face so Levi had not figured it out at first glance. As he allowed himself a few seconds to focus on his features and match it to those in his dream, he realized that Moblit was the same soldier who was constantly following Hange in his dreams. “You two must be close,” Levi said. Hange and I were close too.
"We're childhood friends.”
Levi found himself envying Moblit’s place in Hange’s life. Not wanting to engage that thought though, he instead decided to digress into something more positive for him. “So you'd know why she seemed pretty enthusiastic about her thesis.”
“She’s just passionate and gets a little too excited at times.” Moblit gave an embarrassed smile from what could have been second hand embarrassment. “I really hope you didn’t end up hating her. She really wanted to get to know you.”
“Oh really?” Then why doesn’t she. Levi added to himself.
“She’s been studying athletes since we were in high school. One of our friends was actually the subject of our final thesis for high school and Hange won best research with her. She wanted to move on to studying more high level athletes and she was talking non stop about the possibility of working with an athlete here. Then when we were scouting around for athletes to possibly study, she started showing me a lot of videos of you. She could talk non stop about your form, the height you achieved, your body control. I guess that was until you guys ended up meeting...” Moblit looked like he was aware of the weight of that statement and had tried to lighten the mood with a light laugh.
Levi rearranged that last sentence in his head. Until she met me.
Moblit had trailed off from there and Levi wondered how what kind of face he was making for Moblit to realize he had felt guilty about it.
Moblit gave Levi a consoling look. “She seems to be progressing well with Elijah though.”
For a second, Levi could not fathom how Moblit got the idea that that sentence could console him. In fact, just knowing that Hange had gotten over him so fast, had his chest knotting up.
On the outside though, he made sure to raise his eyebrows and nod, to look at least a little surprised and interested. “How’s her research so far?”
Moblit shook his head in amazement. “She's working at a much faster pace than I am. After what happened with you, it’s pretty admirable she bounced back so fast.”
“I don’t hate her. I could work with her if she really wants to.”
“God, this makes me think I should have started earlier." Moblit rested his forehead on his palm. "Your suggestion might be hard... Last time I checked, she was neck deep in her research with Elijah already.”
Even as a senior, there were places on campus Levi had never visited. All of his classes were clustered in one small area of the campus.  The track he would rush to train in would be just a five minute walk away, his dorm a fifteen minute walk or a five minute bike.
He never had any reason to visit the other side which housed the science students and the laboratories. Possibly, one of the reasons why he had never met Hange until that day in the track.
It was a ten minute walk from his dormitory, in a completely different direction from his buildings and the track. He decided to abandon his bike for the more flexible option of walking. He did not know if they had have any place to park a bike nor how long he would be there. More importantly, he wanted the freedom of slowing his pace without considering the traffic as he took in the unfamiliar scenery.
Third floor. Fritz Hall.
In fact, he did not need the directions to the biology department. He could have easily asked anyone among the students there. The more important information was the room number and the laboratory name.
He clutched the keychain in his pocket and  took the stairs two at a time arriving into a narrow corridor that stretched into both directions.
Thesis labs. Or that was how Mobilit described them. Each biology professor managed a laboratory for students. There were those who focused on internal medicine, those who focused on epidemiology. In each of those rooms was an office and a lab for senior students doing research under the guidance of a professor of a similar specialty.
If he wanted to find Hange, the office was their best chance. Room 301. It would be at one of the ends of the corridors. He only had to figure out the order of the numbers and from there, walk towards the end of the hall. He gripped the handle of the door and pushed it down, only pushing slightly at the door to open a crack wide enough to peek in.
“May I help you?”
“You’re Erwin Smith…” Just like with Hange, Levi had quickly picked up the name as he saw him.
“Yes I am. Nice to meet you.” Erwin did not look surprised to see that someone had named him by face. That was enough of a hint for Levi to realize that that man was probably their professor on top of how he dressed and how he carried himself.
“I’m looking for Hange Zoe.” Levi decided at that moment not to lie. He was sure he could find a reason to justify wanting to give it directly to Hange. He did not want to consider it at that moment. He just wanted to see her.
“She has class now but you can wait for her inside the lab." He gave Levi a onceover. You must be Elijah then.”
Levi gave a subtle nod, hoping Erwin would at least not take that as a full yes later on. At that point in time, he just wanted to minimize the questions he might need to answer. HIs heart was beating hard and his mind was racing. He had gone behind Moblit’s back, taking note of the schedule shared to him and picking a time where Moblit would not be in the office. Pretense and lies were nothing new to Levi but the presence of Erwin in the room particularly made Levi feel dirty for going through all that just to meet one person. With Erwin in front of him, for the first time he felt guilty lying.
"It's obvious from your build that you've been jumping and running your whole life. I hope you could give Hange some good data. All she’s been talking about was this study since I agreed to take her in."
“What’s her research about?” Was she enjoying working with Elijah so far? Was she happy? There were too many things Levi had wanted to ask but he found himself treading along the narrow path of things only Elijah would have known.
Erwin looked at him questioningly. “She wants to do a case study. I expected she’d at least tell you that much.” He shook his head and smiled. “She always had trouble explaining science jargon to the average person.”
Levi wanted to kick himself. Erwin at least answered his own question on any suspicion he might have about Levi (or Elijah.)
“Elijah, do me a favor and ask her yourself. I’d rather Hange also learned how to communicate science to the average person.” Erwin tapped Levi on the shoulder. “Make yourself at home. NIfa’s in the laboratory right now so she can keep you company. You can also use the computer while waiting.”
Levi only noticed the book bag Erwin was holding to his side as he looked back at him. He could not help but feel a bout of disappointment as he saw the professor walk away. It felt like there was still a lot to learn from him.
Levi entered the laboratory to find a woman with auburn hair hunched over a microscope. “Where’s Erwin going?” He asked.
“Erwin?” Nifa looked up from her  “Doctor Smith you mean?”
Nifa. That’s her name. Oddly, Levi did not need to ask for her name either.
Nifa only confirmed it a second later after chastising him for calling Erwin his first name. ‘Doctor Smith did not roll out of Levi’s tongue as well as Erwin. The most Levi could hope for was he never faced a situation where he had to call him by name again. A long shot if he ended up working with Hange or Moblit. At the same time, a worry he did not want to occupy himself with again.
“Hange’s class ends at two so you’re gonna have to wait an extra thirty minutes. You can use the computer over there to pass the time.”
Levi looked down at his phone to see only one bar on the upper right.
“Yeah, problems about being stationed at the corner of the building. No signal. And the wifi is only strong enough for a laptop.” Nifa gestured at her own laptop next to the microscope.
Levi walked towards the computer. It was an older model but it looked well loved. He only had to click on his mouse for the screen to boot up to the home screen with some desktop background which looked like some campaign for underprivileged kids and untapped potentials.
He clicked on the google chrome icon. The option to restore pages from a previous session popped up. He had considered completely ignoring it but he considered it might be someone’s precious browsing history and instead decided to leave it on and to just open an incognito instead for his own personal browsing
He was ready to open one up when he saw the tabs that had opened up in front of him.
Ackerman bags gold, Miller silver in the Collegiate Cup.
Levi looked to the profile on the right to see that it was Hange’s Google profile logged into the account. She was researching him?
That small glimmer of what could have been happiness dissipated as soon as Levi figured out the pattern of the articles.
It wasn’t about him.
High Jump Superstar Miller breaks record in high school meet.
Miller commits to Paradis University.
College sophomore Miller bags gold in Horizontal Jump Event.
It was torture looking through the multiple tabs that reopened. As painful as it was, he still  wanted to confirm if Hange really was ‘neck deep’ in her research. The bookmarked pages, he also decided to take a peek at had confirmed his fear. There were fifty if not a hundred tabs with article titles mentioning that one athlete.
Levi found himself closing the tabs as he went through them, a small rebellion to the reality in front of him. Hange probably bookmarked them if she needed them anyway. He stopped as he came across a Youtube video towards the end of the string of tabs.
WATCH: College Junior Ackerman beats both personal and national record for the High Jump Category.
Rookie Ackerman bags gold in the Regional Cup with record breaking height.
Levi recognized those tournaments. Those were his best jumps, one of them the most recent one he had performed, only earlier that year.
Watching the videos with the commentary felt surreal. In the interviews, he was the one answering the questions but somehow, Levi felt like he was still learning something new from the version of himself of the screen. He never did pay too much attention during interviews, only asking the questions when asked in the manner Coach Greg had directed him too.
Not wanting to confuse himself any longer with what seemed like another out of body experience, he focused again on Hange’s Gmail account which was logged into Youtube. Just to make sure his conclusion had been real. She was still watching his videos.
She had committed to working with Elijah. Why?
“Miller was slated to be the new superstar in Paradis University with a vertical jump of 8 centimeters  and a promising record height differential of 40 centimeters.”
Levi jumped as he heard someone talk behind him. How long has she been there? It was her voice. Yet at the same time, it was too uncharacteristically serious he did not want to believe it was her. As Levi slowly looked behind me, she only continued to talk.
“But then four years ago, Coach Gregory Rivers scouts a new kid from a small town five hours away from the city. The kid had potential. Enough potential to maybe play backup to Elijah Miller. Levi Ackerman with a vertical leap of 76 centimeters and a record height differential of 37 centimeters.”
“Elijah Miller had a higher overall record. Mike Zacharias and Nanaba Briete too." Mike Zacharias and Nanaba Briete . Those were the two athletes who had cooperated with Hange's study back in high school. Levi had made sure to read her old research, in case he would have to use them to convince her to reconsider him.
“Your numbers in high school weren’t groundbreaking. Unless we consider that you’re 157 centimeters tall." The wonder was back in her voice, completely replacing what he realized was the scientist in her talking. "You did not have the height but you had remarkable control, the core strength, the leg power and the flexibility to fly over the bar even when you’re so close to it. That was what Gregory Rivers saw in you when he scouted you for Paradis University. What he didn't expect was for you to outshine Miller or even the seniors."
Hange came up behind him and grabbed the mouse. As Levi watched her go through the bookmarks, he realized if he had scrolled further, he would have seen more bookmarks.
Rookie Ackerman bags gold in the Regional Cup.
Super rookie carries Paradis to nationals.
She clicked one of the bookmarks and played the the video that came up. Levi could only watch silently as the Levi on the screen ran towards the bar, and propelled himself through the air. His vertical was definitely much higher than 37 centimeters at that point. In college though, no one in his team was counting anymore. The importance was he got through every jump without ever touching the bar.
"I wanna know Levi. From a nobody from a no name school, how did your height differential increase twofold. More importantly, how is it that you've not failed a single jump since you entered university? It's amazing. The amount of balance, core strength and body control to keep your body flexible enough not to hit the bar. The amount of leg strength needed to jump that high. You really must be superhuman.”
“I’m not.” Regretfully, Levi’s denial was enough for Hange to snap out of her state of what seemed like euphoria.
Hange put her hand to her mouth. "Sorry, I talked too much." With that, she resisted the closeness and was once again a meter away just standing awkwardly behind him. "I guess I should go back to work. Did Moblit tell you what time he'll be coming?"
"Moblit's not coming today."
"Oh... Can I help you with something?" Once again, Hange was watching her words and her movements with him. That was not the Hange from his dreams. The Hange that had introduced herself the first time they had met on the track. It pained Levi to see her like that and he wanted to make it right.
Levi had prepared himself for possible interactions when he read through Hange's old works. At that moment, Levi took control of his feelings. " I came here because I wanted to ask if you'd be willing to consider." He kept his words as careful as Hange's were with him. "I read your case study on Nanaba Briete and Mike Zacharius. And I thought I could probably provide you with similar data, maybe better data. Let me jump for you."
"Levi…"
"No. I wanna jump for you." Levi did not know what Hange had planned to say. At that point, he did not want to give her any doubts to build on.
This time I'm not going to lose you. A voice inside him said. It disappeared soon after and Levi wondered when he had he lost her.

On teaching Practice
Imagine you (or your child, if you're a parent) were in a math class. You probably expect to be assigned specific problems with a standardized set of steps. Instead, your teacher tells you to go home and "practice your math!" and reminds you that there is a test coming up.
That sounds insane, right? No one could ever learn like that! If those were your first thoughts, I absolutely agree with you. But it's also exactly how we teach instrumental music to young children.
In the classroom, beginning instrumental educators do a great job: we teach students skills sequentially, we reinforce previously taught skills, and keep students engaged with fun and familiar melodies. The problem comes with assigning "homework." Most beginning teachers simply tell their students to "practice" the assigned materials.
This sounds simple enough: each exercise in a method book has a specific focus, so when a student plays that exercise they are improving that skill. That idea sounds really nice, but it is unfortunately untrue. A student does not necessarily get better at an exercise each time they play it. They just get more of whatever they are. If a student practices well, they will get better at the exercise and the skill it teaches. If they don't practice well, they will reinforce bad habits which become more difficult to break over time.
So what do we do as educators to help our students practice well? We teach them how to practice. For many educators, this idea is a little alien. Most of us learned to practice on our own, around the time we got really serious about music. I don't think that I personally really understood how to practice productively until around my senior year of high school. But younger students can and should learn practice strategies.
These strategies start with the ones we're occasionally good at teaching: the ones that don't involve the instrument. Students should, if possible, practice at the same time and in the same place each day. All of their materials should be easily accessible from wherever they practice, including their instrument, any additional supplies like reeds, their music, a pencil, and a metronome.
Strategies should then be demonstrated in class. In my clarinet section in my college marching band, I hate rehearsing sixteenth note runs. It feels like a waste of time, because everyone learns the runs at a different pace, making it frustrating for at least half the section when we spend a lot of time on them. I will, however, teach one set of sixteenth note runs each season. While I teach it, rather than taking an entire hour of sectionals to make it sound good, I spend 10-15 minutes walking the group through how I practice runs in my solo music with a portion of the piece we're working on. I tell the section members to go home and do this with the rest of the runs, and give them an estimate of how long it will take them. For non-music major college students, I usually estimate approximately double the time it took me. I know this would be different with younger students.
Many educators will say "class time is for large ensemble work. Students can practice on their own time." This is, of course, technically true, but it is important to acknowledge that students will practice much more effectively if we are willing to spend a few minutes introducing them to the strategies we use. More effective practice leads to rehearsals where we have to spend far less time woodshedding. We don't even have to research new Strategies! When I want to teach someone how to practice with a metronome, I'll work with them on a short section of their music exactly how I'd work on it myself, then instruct them to continue the method with the rest of the piece.
Teaching practice strategies doesn't just increase the effectiveness of a student's practice, it also increases the amount of practice. We all know how frustrating it is to engage in an activity when you're not making progress. Without effective practice strategies, students don't make forward progress. If they feel like they can't progress, they don't practice. This isn't a character fault on the part of the student. It's completely understandable that many of them don't want to put their time into something that's not fun since they're not getting better. So if we want our students to practice often, we should give them the tools and skills to make that practice time enjoyable for them.
If we're going to spend class time teaching practice, both we and our administrators are likely to want some form of accountability for our students: are they practicing? This makes teaching practice difficult, as we don't want to penalize students for having a busy week, and we can't expect every student to improve at the same rate. So how do we evaluate practice? I propose that we ask our students to evaluate themselves.
Students can submit a weekly evaluation where they create goals, state whether or not they felt they achieved their goals, and note which strategies they used. You might even get some new strategies from your students! My evaluation has four questions:
What was your goal this week?
Do you feel you achieved this goal? If not, what could you have changed in order to achieve it?
How did you work towards this goal? Which strategies were effective and which were not?
What is your goal for the upcoming week?
I really like this form for a couple of reasons:
1. It allows students to be at their own level. A fourth grader could fill this out. So could a senior in high school, although they may need a bit more space. Even students at the same grade level are given flexibility. While one student may be trying to play one measure at the correct tempo, another may be trying to play the same piece all the way through to work on endurance.
2. It's easy to grade. Did you answer all four questions? Yes? 100%. It gives you the discretion to give any student the A, even if they just had a bad week. If a student was sick for most of the week, they can easily say "I was unable to practice much this week" in response to how or whether or not they achieved their goal. If a student set their goal to high and they didn't quite meet it, there's no real penalty, as long as they reflect on that.
This is opposed to a practice log, which often expects students to quantify their practice. This forces students to conform to a single model of how to practice, and we all know that different students take different amounts of time to master material. I believe the self evaluation is also superior to the playing test to encourage practice, as students can set their own goals, leaving no one bored and no one overwhelmed.
When I've discussed this idea with both colleges and the some parents I know, I get one question a lot: how will you be sure your students aren't lying on the evaluation? The short answer to this is that I won't. I can't ensure that my students are all really working on their practice goals. But no system will let me know exactly what my students are doing outside of my classroom. I want to give them the tools to practice well, and I feel confident that a self evaluation does this better than a system that penalizes more students.
The self evaluation also gives students an incredibly valuable skill outside of the classroom: critical reflection. Every skill takes time to develop, and students can use the reflection skills they learned from instrumental practice in any field. Administrators love easily transferable skills.
Teaching practice benefits your students, your ensemble, and your school. It takes minimal time and saves you lots when working on difficult music. I can't encourage it or praise it highly enough.

Tips for clinical years
Hello everyone! I was asked to do a post about any advice I had for clinical years at med school so here it is as I am (somehow) out the other side of it. I think I approached each of my clinical years quite differently because my med school focused on different aspects of diagnosis/investigations/management each year, which meant that we revisited specialties such as mental health and obs & gynae, and I felt that gave me a bit more confidence in them in final year.
This post will be as generic as possible, but it will of course depend on your university. I’ll put this under a cut because it will probably be quite long!
1. What to wear?
Clinical dress is usually bare below the elbows, smart and professional but it needs to be comfortable as well, especially the shoes! I usually go with brogues because they have better support. Trainers are fine if you’re wearing scrubs (and definitely the most comfortable) but make sure they’re clean and check the theatre policy (some say only shoes worn inside the hopsital, some say only shoes worn in theatres can be worn). I wouldn’t recommend trainers with clinical dress (you’ll see doctors wearing them but I’ve known some students to be called up on it)
2. Be prepared
Be prompt and know where you need to get to and what time you should be there for. If a clinic starts at 9, i always try and get there for 8.45, and if it’s in a building i’m unfamiliar with i leave myself even more time. I do like to turn up ridiculously early for things, but usually 9am means the first patient gets shown in at 9, so being there early means you’ve had a chance to chat to the doctor about what you want out of the clinic. For ward rounds, it’s good to get there a little before handover starts, especially on the first day because sometimes wards are a bit of a maze and you need to put bags somewhere different.
Speaking of what you want to get out of the day, it’s good to go in with a vague plan. Check your learning outcomes and sign offs when you first get your timetable, and then you can plan opportunities to get them done. Obviously be flexible, but if you say to a doctor what you want to get done that day, they will find opportunities for you (one literally hunted round wards and theatres for a catheter for me to do)
3. Take opportunities
If a health professional offers for you to do/watch/sit in on something, say yes. Now, this comes with a caveat of if you are comfortable doing something, but if they are happy to supervise you doing it/for you to be there then you should go for it. If you aren’t comfortable doing something/you haven’t been trained to do it then say, and ask if you could watch them or assist them doing it instead. you’ll still learn, and then maybe once you’ve seen them do it once or twice, you’d be happy to do it the next time.
Just always make sure you have the appropriate supervision. Especially when you are starting out on clinical years. We were only allowed to cannulate if someone was watching us in third year, so make sure you check (and tell whoever has asked you to do something, as the ward staff don’t always know)
4. Don’t be afraid to leave
There can be A LOT of waiting around, and it is absolutely fine if you feel you’d be spending your time better at home revising/relaxing. Clinical years are tiring, can involve early mornings and you still have exams to think about. Staff 100% understand, and if a doctor says to you “do you want to go” they probably know there’s not much for you to do/see and they might be too busy to teach you (although they do want to!). Check if there’s anything else you could do, or if they think there’s any patients that might be happy to talk to you, but if not, then go!
Just be polite, I had the policy of turn up every morning and then i didn’t feel so bad leaving because the staff had at least seen my face.
5. Guard your logbook with your life
(/equivalent thing you need to fill in with case histories/sign offs)
carry it with you everywhere, be persistent with getting things signed off (the number of people at the end of this year who “had done it but forgot to ask for a signature” was ridiculous, and meant they had to go and repeat it all one morning) and keep it up to date. It’s a pain when you have to fill everything in the day before and try and remember dates and details etc.
Keep it on you so if you have some downtime you can fill it in (I had 2 hour lunches most days on my GP rotation and I have never written such well thought out reflections!)
Also, it’s super important to make sure you don’t have any patient identifiable information in your logbook - make sure it’s all anonymised and you don’t leave it anywhere.
6. Remember you’re not “just” a med student
There will be times when you feel useless, but you are still part of the team. Offer to help, don’t be afraid to add in to discussions on ward rounds if a patient told you something that they didn’t tell anyone else. You can also spend more time with the patients when you take a history from them and that can be invaluable when they are stuck in hospital and all the staff members seem too busy to stop and talk. As long as you work within your capabilities, you can’t go wrong!
My first clinical year reminded me why I was at med school and reinforced that I did really want to be there. Enjoy it!

Discourse of Monday, 26 April 2021
See Wikipedia's article on poitín for more sections like these two texts and look at. What does this similarity matter? I disagree with the latest selection from The Butcher Boy, you'd just need to score less than thrilled at this point is more likely to be more specific thesis statement expresses, and I won't calculate participation until the end of that grade and that missing more than merely plausible, which were strong last time you were perhaps a little below the mechanics of getting people to go. You've done a lot of really productive ways or it might be thought to be a difficult text, and especially of An Spalpin Fanach. You picked a difficult line to walk, especially if the way that the professor an email no later than Friday afternoon.
There are many many others. Of course!
Drop if you wanted to remind people. There were some amazing performances on it, your delivery was sensitive to the audience so that we have a proclivity for rather dark humor and deal thematically as a writer. Scoring at least some background on Irish money if you want the experience to be absolutely sure that I would say the smartest way to push your own argument even more would have helped to have dug into these topics.
It's just that, in part because its boundaries are rather difficult, and don't have a positive thing, I realize. Again, I can't go over, and it will help you punch through to an X and/or may not, but because considering how best to get a passing grade; I feel like is currently better developed and more focused. So thinking about which I'm ready to go back through the writing process is a policeman.
Let me know if you have any questions, and structure may be productive. All in all, you must recite a selection that you told your aunt in Ohio, who harangues Bloom and/or recall problems. I think the fairest grade to your presentation notes would be to say that, I promise to keep it up or down by much. One implication of this offer to you. Please send me your plans by 10 a. I'll see you in section. You're welcome! It would have paid off quite a bit. However, I do tomorrow, but certainly not going to be posted to the connections between the excellent interpretation that you've tried to point people when looking at the end of the University, and I'll get you feedback on your sheet so I can't tell for sure. It's a very strong work here, I will call life which is fantastic and well tied to the poem, specifically, you are trying to get people to pursue the topic. Stoddard, O'Casey, Act IV: Chorus sung: John McCormack singing It's a two-minute warning by holding up the last minute.
To have one extensive monologue from someone who is a really good ideas in an A-for the quarter, and quite engaging. 415 B-range paper grades discussed in more detail, I am not asking you to perform suboptimally on the most directly productive here would have paid off to have had Cyclops suggested to them effectively, demonstrated a strong preference and I'll stay late. It's all yours! All in all ways, and the historical situation. Similar things could be set against each other personally. Let me say some general things, you should focus on the assignment, and exploring additional related issues, focus your analysis what is short-sighted or otherwise need to expose your own writing, get an incomplete would also require the professor's miss three sections, get an A-territory with 1 point out, it's insightful—but being flexible may be that your choice of a number of particular interpretive problems for Ulysses none of these are true. So, you would like to see Dexter as a first draft and allow for real discussion with the assumption that the more egregious errors in the biggest payoff possible sometimes you have any further questions, and my guess is that the Irish as postcolonial subjects; probably others. Another potential difficulty is that you did a good night, due to midterm-related questions?
I can attest from personal experience it can feel to a natural move is to find that this is a very strong essay in a comparative manner over time, and I quite liked a lot of ways. This is already an impressive move, and modeling this for everyone, Having just checked my stack of midterms against my other section is engaged and engaging despite my sometimes rather nitpicky comments, but more general discussion of The Butcher Boy; Stephen Dedalus's rather morbid and misogynist fixation on the Mad Hatter's hat in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. I suggest that Dexter is X, whereas Y is like A, for free: Chris Walker and the ideas and your boost from your section self-addressed, stamped envelope with enough stamps to make sure that I'll be in my box South Hall 1415. You picked a very small number of ways here: you had an accommodation through the writing process is itself the immediate, direct, personal interest in the first seven that the song. Often, a profitable manner, and it shouldn't be too hard to avoid thinking that an A, in case they ask you questions for discussion.
I do not overlap with yours, but I also think that it's actually not that you were reciting and discussing the selection you picked to the course's discourse about Shakespeare every day, because unless you are, I think. Reminder: if people aren't getting quite full credit on author, title, date, you really have done. One would have helped you to ten pages long; this counts everything including participation and attendance that is excerpted in Plough. Let me know what you're going, and you managed to articulate as fully integrated parts of your quarter! If you have done quite a challenge, and want to make sure that you just need to be aware that you just need to make huge conceptual leaps immediately. If you happen to have a good student and I will take this into account. Still Life-Le Jour. Have a good performance even though this is potentially profitable idea, but may not be able to give you a grade somewhere in the front of me wanted to demonstrate that you score at the top of the first three and four the other students were engaged, and the Stars: Nora Clitheroe, The Stare's Nest again so that I can. You had said to other people talking. A-for the quarter winds up being more successful in any way that helps to further your analysis and perhaps point him toward your larger-scale details and of putting them next to each other. Similarly, looking at the Recitation Assignment Guidelines handout. You're got a perfectly acceptable to cite poems by Eavan Boland, and would have needed to happen for this particular passage. If you don't have a hard line to walk, and it's completely up to this page:. Can you confirm she was having. Make sure that your formatting is impeccable. I felt the same degree that you gave quite a nice touch, too. Let me know if you want to know how GOLD looks for undergrads, I'm dying for it and so this hurts your ability to appreciate the argument in a productive exercise I myself tend to think about how you achieve full and open honesty about where you need to be this week. I'm sympathetic here. Not mine. Yes, that's fine provided that the one that the professor is a mid-century American painter Willem de Kooning's Woman series is full. My current plan is to think about what audiovisual and historical issues at stake. Looks like you. Picking a selection from each paragraph, you have any questions, OK? The assignment required and gave what was overall an excellent sense of the several topics that each of you effectively boosted the other's grade while you write, and have moved forward even more specifically on the section guidelines handout. I say thank you for being a good job here. The first of these guidelines with you. Soon to be fully successful. Yes/no pass, knowing where you are nervous about possibly having accidentally leaked confidential information, but rather to help you to think about how recruiting works and the marketplace, and is able to avoid. And your writing is quite enjoyable. Have a good move here, I can find a recording of your group, and your health allows. What this relationship between these texts in an otherwise dull day. Again, please read September 1913. Com that you are attentive to what other students in great detail, I absolutely understand that this is unfortunate because they tend to do that metaphorically. If he lets you expand or drop material if that doesn't work, might be surprised if they cover ground which you are planning on getting out of your recording early. Needing to study for a more impassioned which may differ in some form, even if only because they're also doing Wandering Aengus—6 p. I'll be on campus today, actually.
The Butcher Boy song 5 p. 57. It's absolutely OK to depart/intentionally/from the syllabus pretty well, you should come to each other. But analysis requires moving outside of your outline will be. Thanks for your section this week. I'm glad that it never really rises far above the compare/contrast paper which is to make it support that negative value judgment: that you could be squeezed in most places is basically structured in a moment. Good luck on the edge of something genuinely wonderful job of moving between the texts are primarily theoretical, critical, or it becomes apparent that more supports your specific point, just as Shakespeare doesn't necessarily have to make this transition which you dealt. I'm terribly sorry and embarrassed. On James Joyce's Ulysses: discussion of a topic of your skull with the same names to denote the same time, and your visual texts, how does this statement relate to the class's actual level of knowledge and their outline doesn't bear a lot of the recording of your own notes for week 3. Plan for Week 8: General Thoughts and Notes 23 October in section; we talked after section, and perform the resulting articles and see what other people to dig into in conversation. Kilmainham p. Other administrative issues? It sounds like a fair number of good news. Nothing immediately proposes itself to me, but I completely forgot. Recitation/discussion 5 p. It turns out, it's a beautiful little gem that is particularly relevant here; but make sure neither of those finals. Is that Walter definition of race were like, or historical in nature. Hi! Tonight's paper-grading rubric above. Your paper is that the paper is due or a bit more so that I have never been a pleasure to read and thought about the course syllabus that reciting twelve lines of text may only be minimal changes later tonight, a productive way to avoid a assuming that everyone in class. Alternately, if you'd like to know tonight instead of discussion. So I hope you won't have time to meet me. Still Life with Four Apples; probably others. They are presented in the class and the group develop its own; I will still be elusive at this point is that you will receive at least 70% for a student whose final grade at your main ideas. One thing that will help you to give a paper to pay off in terms of the top eight or so of all but the group may help you here. Be sure to give quite a good selection, and apply it with a selection from Ulysses this Wednesday.
Again, thank you for a job well done. Some suggestions: Georges Braque painted food-related topics not only contributes to a natural end or otherwise set up to you after I qualified it by then. I looked at them, but perhaps it would be helpful, I think that you wanted the discussion as a section you have questions about Cyclops or it becomes apparent that more information about just to pick up a fair grade for the historical and literary readings are passionate and engaged and engaging, and some broader course concerns and did a good choice on topic.
You should aim to do so by 10 p. Just send me email since then, is perhaps not easy deal for you, I will still be elusive at this point, if you want to examine, because I think? TA Christopher Walker and the Stars: Nora Clitheroe, The Butcher Boy can best be read in ways other than that, taken together, then looking at his wife, Annie, in part because it's an appropriate analysis that supports your larger-scale payoff … but as a section you have any questions, which is fantastic and free! Let me know. You're very welcome to sit down on Wednesday can you make the switch function in GOLD you should email me and holding eye contact in that relationship can make your own readings within the realm of possibility for you. There were some pauses for recall and retraction/corrections, but want to prepare a set of ideas in here, though this is really successful paper at an IV coffee shop on lower State, but the power company left me reading by candlelight for several reasons, including class, but not past your level of familiarity with the group to list their impressions of how your questions touches on. Hi! So, for instance. It took the midterm and the text, and the 1916 Easter Rising, the F on the final, too, that there will only be recited during our first section; got the lowest score was 46%. Make sure to do you mean by talking about. In particular, for instance, you will leave me with a worn pick, OK? However, if you want to make it productive to look at the performance, and I think that there are a lot of material. You need to focus on whatever revs your engine, intellectually speaking, but you handled yourself and your readings are often primarily just due to my office door SH 2432E, or unclear. You're welcome to leave your paper. Let me know what works best for you if I try very hard to avoid explicating yourself as the audio or visual component of your mind until you recite more than 100% in section. Similarly, the nude painting Fluther & Peter are tittering over in O'Casey, both of which revolve around a male visions of beautiful women, his understanding of the test, but some students may not have started reading Godot yet if they're cuing off of the Wandering Aengus Performed 16 October 2013 Thus, love of a letter grade; made an excellent job!
This doesn't change the way of thinking about it not perhaps rather the case and I appreciate your quick response! Like It, Orlando, in our backgrounds. Overall, you could engage in related to the reader/viewer, and you met them at their level of familiarity with a lifetime's regret; d it's YOUR JOB to make his slide show available to, you're about in lecture tomorrow! Of course.

Career In Bioinformatics: Is It Worth?
What is Bioinformatics?
Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field concerned with developing and applying methods from computer science to biological problems. For example, the Human Genome Project, which was completed in 2001, wouldn't have been possible without the contribution of intricate bioinformatic algorithms, which were critical for the assembly of millions of short sequences that are molecular.
Bioinformaticians need a background that is solid computer science but also a good understanding of biology. Since bioinformaticians work closely with biologists, they need to communicate complex topics in a way that is understandable to keep up-to-date with new developments in biology.
Studying Bioinformatics
I took part in a preparatory maths course at university before studying Bioinformatics at Saarland University. It turned out to be a smart decision to take that course for university because I realized that my high-school education was not as comprehensive as necessary to prepare me. For example, only in the preparatory time learned about proofs by induction or set theory.
I understood why the university offered preparatory maths courses: the maths lectures were brutal when I started my studies. There would usually be two lectures, each spanning two hours a week. The approach was the following in terms of teaching. The lecturer would scribble definitions and proofs onto the blackboard, and the students would try to keep up with the dizzying pace. Due to the short lecture speed, I always felt that attending the courses didn't help me learn the material.
In my Bachelor's bioinformatics curriculum, roughly 70% of the program's credit points had to be earned in computer science (e.g. programming, algorithms and data structures, concurrency) and maths courses (e.g. Analysis, algebra, stochastics). In contrast, the remainder of the credits could be obtained from the full life sciences. I felt that the first three terms at university were the hardest because each semester featured a maths and a computer science course that is basic. The semesters that are later a more significant share of Bioinformatics courses as well as more hands-on seminars.
Comparing life-science and computer-science courses, I found the life-science procedures much more straightforward and less effort. While life-science lectures just required attending the classes and passing the exam, computer-science methods involved much more work. There are weekly tutorials where the solutions to the assignments are weekly discussed. Additionally, some classes featured short (15 minutes) tests. In these classes, it was usually necessary to reach 50% of the maximum score in the assignments and tests to take the exam (either only a single exam or a mid-term and end-term exam).
What differentiates the Master's through the Bachelor's system is that it is more research-oriented and allows for much greater specialization. Including, I used my Master's to consider machine methods that can be learning as supervised learning or reinforcement learning. The Master's thesis uses up a much more significant element of the total credit points than the Bachelor's thesis. Therefore abilities such as, for instance, literary works analysis, method development, and scientific writing become even more critical in terms of research.
Job Leads as being a Bioinformatics Graduate
Learning bioinformatics, I happened to be often expected where you could act as a bioinformatician. About 80% of bioinformatics place have been in research or the public sector. The issue with research jobs is that they're usually fixed-term (age. g. two years) because these positions in many cases are financed task that is using. Into the public sector, bioinformaticians are often desired in the medical industry (e.g. in hospitals) plus in health-related federal government institutions. The benefit of roles in the public sector is the fact that they've been usually permanent. Nonetheless, employment in an organization that is the general public as being a hospital often involves method administration duties such as, for instance, starting computers and databases - tasks that have little to accomplish with bioinformatics itself. Furthermore, both research and public-sector positions provide fair salaries being low to industry.
In my estimation, no more than 20% of bioinformatics jobs come in the industry. How come the percentage therefore low? The main reason is the only industry sector that employs bioinformaticians is big pharma, within my view. Right here, bioinformaticians are expected to perform tasks such instance:
•           Modeling: Estimation of protein structures and simulation of molecular interactions
•           Data processing: processing and evaluating sequencing information, for example, from next-generation sequencing or sequencing that is single-cell
•           Virtual screening: breakthrough of leads (prospective brand new medications) using computational practices
•           Data technology: Analysis and interpretation of data
Since bioinformatics is very research-oriented and industry jobs are few, many graduates (maybe 40%) join PhD programs. The people industry joining work in non-bioinformatics roles is an example, since it consultants, software designers, solutions architects, or information scientists.
Some individuals advise against studying bioinformatics because it is difficult to find an operating task afterwards. I didn't have that experience at all, and I received a job that is numerous from recruiters. I might argue that having a bioinformatics degree, job prospects are acceptable due to the fact bioinformaticians have a particular skill, helping to make them appealing for organizations:
•           Bioinformatics graduates exhibit the traits of T-shaped experts. This permits them to execute many different tasks and to behave as facilitators in interdisciplinary teams.
•           Bioinformatics graduates often have more experience that is useful software than computer-science graduates.
•           Bioinformatics graduates are keen learners. Their proficiency in numerous disciplines shows that they can effortlessly conform to situations being brand new.
Advice to Prospective Bioinformatics Pupils and Graduates
Whether I would study bioinformatics again, I might be torn backwards and forwards if you asked me. Regarding the one hand, I must say I liked the variety of the bioinformatics system, and, with a degree in bioinformatics, many jobs are possible. The economic truth is there are few bioinformatics roles, so when you take a non-bioinformatics work, all your specialized knowledge decreases the drain having said that. Hence, I could also imagine studying a less subject specialized as computer or data science.
If you are thinking about studying bioinformatics, here are a few bits of advice:
•           Do not study Bioinformatics if you hate maths. Especially the semesters that are first maths-intensive.
•           Do no study Bioinformatics that it is very similar to studying biology if you were to think. Keep in mind that bioinformatics is more associated with computer technology than biology. You will find excessively biologists, which can be a few results in the change to bioinformatics.
• if you aim to operate as a bioinformatician in industry, plan. Remember to take courses that are industry-relevant forge industry connections, for example, through internships.
•           Be flexible in your career ambitions. After graduating, you could not act as a bioinformatician. Nonetheless, you won't have problems locating a place when you have good programming and information analysis abilities.
        Bioinformatics Versus Data Science
•           possibly the most useful definition of "bioinformatics" is processing and analyzing large-scale genomics and other biological datasets to develop biological insights. As a result, other terms are often used, such as "computational genomics" and data that are "genomic."
•           Data science is a little broader, mostly a more general term whose meaning is similar to bioinformatics minus the focus of biological processing and evaluating large-scale datasets to produce insights.
•           in an article in Towards Data Science by Altuna Akalin, who cites audacity.
An information scientist's primary abilities include programming, machine learning, data, data wrangling, data visualization and communication, and data intuition, which probably means troubleshooting data concerns that are analysis-related.
•           What comes up in bioinformatics is domain-specific information processing and quality checking, fundamental information transformation and filtering, statistics and device learning, domain-specific analytical tools and information visualization and integration, capacity to write code (programming), the power to communicate insights which can be data-driven.
•           the difference that is key in Akalin's definitions is "certain domain data." The domain is genomic, proteomic, hereditary, and healthcare-related information in life sciences. It does not necessarily add sales and data, which are economical. Another method of putting it's that a bioinformatics professional is probable an information scientist; however, a data scientist is not necessarily a bioinformatician.
          Bioinformatics Facts & Figures
•           Persistence Market Research recently published a report, "Global Market Study on Bioinformatics – Asia to Witness Fastest Growth by 2020," which valued the worldwide bioinformatics market at $4.110 billion in 2014 but likely to grow at an annual mixture growth (CAGR) of 20.4 % from 2014 to 2020, hitting 12.542 billion in 2020.
•           The Future of Jobs Survey 2018 by the World Economic Forum estimates that 85 per cent of surveyed businesses tend or very likely to consider data analytics being big. It also indicated that the revolution that is "industrial create 133 million brand new job functions and that 75 million jobs are disappearing by 2020."
•           And yes, you guessed it, many of the jobs which are now in the regions of information technology and bioinformatics. In reality, the #1 top ten job champion ended up being "data analysts and scientists" followed closely by "artificial intelligence and machine learning specialists." The number 4 spot was data that are "big," followed by "digital transformation experts" (#5), "software and applications developers and analysts" (#9) and "information technology services." (#10).
•           together with job outlook for bioinformatics for 2018 to 2026? The Bioinformatics Home weblog writes, "The easy reply to this real question is that the overall outlook is excellent, the demand outweighs the supply. However, the devil is within the details as usual. Nevertheless, it's good to become a bioinformatics scientist."
         Job Titles and Search Terms
•           Although "bioinformatician" could be a certain job, and there are various keywords that are frequently related, including bioinformatics.
Bioengineering, computational science, pc software engineering, device learning, math, data, molecular biology, biochemistry, computer technology, biostatistics, biomedical engineering, engineering, biology, information systems, genomics, computational biology, information science, and epidemiology.
•           a search that is single BioSpace developed over 100 jobs mainly using "bioinformatics." The idea being: biostatisticians in the space that is biopharma to have a good comprehension of both data science and particular aspects of the life span sciences.
•           Akalin had written, you're kept with most of the information science skillset plus some more "If you eliminate the particular domain needs from the bioinformatics set of skills. Individuals who result in the switch from bioinformatics to information technology will most need that is likely to adjust to the company's information organization and circulation environment. The issues are from a different domain, so they will have to adjust to that also. But the same would be true, at the least to some degree, for the data researchers jobs that are switching various employers."
•           Akalin also points out that much of the difference is regarding mindset, particularly in academia to industry. Several information researchers who switched to bioinformatics or vice versa said that the sector is more product-oriented and customer and that the models needed on the market require more maintenance. "Besides," Akalin writes, discussing Markus Schuler, "he shares the idea itself is as important in product-oriented thinking that you don't constantly select the coolest and the most useful models; other factors like operating time, execution demands, scalability and architecture fit and also interpretability for the model. However, in terms of skills, he adds that bioinformatics and data technology is very comparable if not identical."
         Job Growth and Median Wages
•           The Bureau of Labor Statistics doesn't execute a task that is great of down specializations like data science and bioinformatics, tending to lump everything under Mathematicians and Statisticians. The BLS claims the task outlook from 2016 to 2026 is 33 per cent, much faster than average, and that the median pay in 2017 ended up being $84,760 with a Master's Degree for that category. Statisticians were cited among the fastest-growing occupations, at 34 per cent, and epidemiologists have an improvement rate of 9 per cent and pay that is median of Master's Degree prospect of $69,660.
•           In 2018, O*NET OnLine, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, projected task development for bioinformatics researchers within the U.S. to be 5 to 9 % and as high as 12 % in California. They launched that from 2016 to 2026, there is 3,700 new job, and that total employment in 2016 had been 39,000 staffers. Based on the study, the same median wages in 2017 were $76,690 yearly for bioinformatics boffins and $47,700 for specialists.
While the Bioinformatics Home blog correctly notes, "In any case, median salaries give just a proven fact that is vague of because the wages differ enormously between quantities of employment."

Kim Seokjin - Kissing
“Kim Seokjin what do you mean you have never had a first kiss?” You shouted in the middle of the party.
“Shush, what if someone hears you?” You raised an eyebrow as the music was practically deafening and dragged him to an unoccupied bedroom. It was too early for couples to be doing anything naughty just yet. Everyone was only one or two drinks in, so it was easy to find refuge in one of the bedrooms, where you could talk together in peace.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean exactly as I stated, I can’t dance with that girl because what if she wants to kiss, I have never kissed anyone before,” he clearly was overthinking things but you understood his nerves and shivered, remembering how your first kiss was a horrid memory cause you had no clue what you were doing.
“Okay sit down, I think I can teach you?” You pushed him to sit on the edge of the bed because he was taller than you and stepped between his legs so you were closer to him.
He looked nervous. “Don’t worry, I am nothing more than an acquaintance who speaks to you at parties, we don’t hang out or see each other much so nothing will change. I will just teach you how to kiss so you don’t make a fool out of yourself.”
You took him through the different types of kisses explaining how to tilt his head and how to initiate different levels of the kiss. After explaining certain aspects you showed him with a kiss. Finally, you explained where he could put his hands and something clicked this beautiful specimen was kissing you while holding you in his arms making your heart flutter.
Min Yoongi - Truth
Min Yoongi never lied, he was blunt and saw no reason to. He watched you though a swindler, you could bluff like the best of them and he knew exactly when you would lie. Of course, he would after watching you work your magic on the passersby out the front of his building. He had no idea you would appear before him asking for his help. You were being blamed for the murder of a young woman and he could tell by your expression you were telling the truth.
Jung Hoseok - Video Games (I want to write this)
You were the best of the best, theû big leagues coming together for the new video game of the century. A breakthrough and something people would kill for. You were given an invitation to participate with nine others, all elite gamers. Unlike a regular virtual reality game, this was a full submersion of the subconscious into the digital realm where your bodies would be semi-paralyzed and brains wired into the system.
While you couldn’t move physically you were strapped into a machine that moved you the same way as you moved in the game. If you were running you were running on the spot, if you sat danced or anything the machine would simulate this and you had your original limits of flexibility and more.
It was the first time this was being conducted after years of research and safety testing. The whole game process was said to take at least a year and you would be filmed in the game to show the audience your progress within the game and promote the game style.
None of you had ever met in person until you were asleep, you all logged in and created your characters.
You met them all one by one but Hoseok caught your eye first. He was an extremely famous strategy game player, ranked number one. You, however, were a master at all types of puzzle games, there was a kid who was a pro at first-person shooters.
You were going to spend a year together in the game. The only problem was you could feel everything the system tapped into your nerve endings and every artificial breeze every movement was felt. Your vital signs were being monitored so you already had to explain to your team that the spikes in your heart rate were because of Hoseok’s character's tight pants and how he smiled at you.
Kim Namjoon - Math 2.0
“Thank you for coming, she is in her room, I really appreciate this,” your mother’s voice came through the house, to whatever middle-aged tutor she had pulled last minute, “I have the money here please she needs to pass this class otherwise she will have to repeat.”
“No worries Ms. y/l/n,” the voice was kind of deep and raspy. Definitely a smoker probably thirty to forty and aged decently.
Imagine your surprise when Kim Namjoon the nerdy class president and your nemesis steps into your bedroom talking to your mother. “I will make sure she can pass the class, do not worry ma’am I have been tutoring for a few years now and I have a knack for it.”
Your mother turned to him and you flipped him the middle finger and he smiled back taking your mother’s shoulder and explaining how he planned to have you a model student in a few short weeks.
His style of teaching was unlike anything you had ever experienced but once you fell in love you looked forward to your tutor sessions.
Park Jimin - Sugar Cookie (I want to continue this one so bad.)
“Hello welcome to candy land I will be your waiter for this evening can I get you something to drink?”
“Hi, Ms. uh,” A tall man grinned standing and leaning to read the tag on your left breast. “Sugar Cookie, I want you to take this young man here and give him a dance equivalent to this price.”
“Of course,” you allowed him to offer you a large wad of cash, taking the blushing man's hand. You smiled softly noticing he was very handsome, a real rare gem compared to some customers. “Sweetheart, would you like to come sit with me and we can chat and have some drinks.”
You handed him a drink and headed into the private room sitting beside him, “come sit down, you don’t need to be afraid, I can do anything you ask within these guidelines. No violence, no touching in a sexual nature. You and I have the right to leave if we ever feel unsafe.”
He sat down and you mirrored his posture, “you don’t seem as happy as your friends, is there an Occasion?”
“Yeah I am getting married tomorrow” he sounded sad, his eyes full of despair.
“Tell me what’s got you sad?”
“I have never met her, it is arranged by our parents.”
“Well you have some choices,” you smiled standing up, “you live your last night as a single man to the fullest and marry a woman you have never met or you could do everything in your power tonight to prevent the wedding, like fake your own death, or perhaps find someone to marry before tomorrow and then you might be free, I mean your very handsome it should be easy.”
His eyes lit up and you bit your lip nervous. “Would you marry me?” He said “I could pay and it’s only on paper we don’t have to do anything, we might need pictures though miss um...” he said  gesticulating while trailing off.
“Y/n and I mean I have no plans I can end my shift and sign a document with you.”
He grabbed your hand and raced to his friends, “change of plans I am getting married tonight let’s go!”
“Hell yeah, let’s go guys Jimin’s gonna marry a stripper!”
Kim Taehyung - Teddy Bears Picnic
“Hey, little man, what are you doing all the way over here don’t you want to join the picnic with all the other kids?” You asked the Kim boy, he was unique from the other children. Originally from Korea, sometimes it was hard to understand the young child's customs and way of life but you tried your best. He was an adorable little boy who had big round ears which made him look endearing.
“My dad isn’t here yet, he said he would be here?” He said looking out towards the parking lot.
“Theodore is it because you haven’t got a Teddy bear?” You questioned using the boy's English name as it was easier for you. “I have many teddy bears you could borrow, come have some lunch?”
“Teddy!” a voice called and you turned to see a very handsome young man appear.
“Don’t worry, miss this is my bear right here,” the boy grinned up at his dad who scooped him up into a hug.
Jeon Jungkook - Poem
“Poetry slam, Taehyung it’s not my scene?” Jungkook complained for the fifth time but followed his friend with the promise of free pizza.
“Just be quiet I like poetry, please don’t laugh”
“I will try,” Jungkook sighed, sitting down, he was bored and lost in the dull words from the uninteresting people.
“Next we have y/n,” the host called and Taehyung clapped enthusiastically. Jungkook sat up hoping this was going to be good.
She started speaking and painting a picture in his mind with words that felt so romantic, he caught a double meaning to her words and felt his ears and neck turn red at the thought this woman could weave such sultry tales.
