Hi for you story “hope in your sheets” why did after he find out she lied to him, why did she act like the reason he left was because she lied to him. Like as soon as it happened she said she was preparing for the moment he left it. She never even gave him a chance. Also she rather rob her child of a father than end her friendship? Another thing why did everyone paint hoseok as the villain? she hid the pregnancy for 6 months “we’re not taking sides” but they were all on her side?
ik it’s an old story but why was everyone gaslighting him wth
My ADHD got the better of me so this is really long. I am sorry, but I love having discussions about my work (especially because I have the flaw of not telling the reader everything clearly in my stories). Thanks for the comment I really appreciate the feed back it will help with future stories on both explaining character decisions a little better and will give me a new perspective of how my work is recieved. First I would like to note; I don't agree with what the characters did I wrote it because people like to read things even if they themselves wouldn't do it. Reading about murder doesn't mean people want to kill people, writing about the murder doesn't mean I am a murderer. I don't agree with the way the reader never told Hobi but it makes for suspense and well Drama and that's a healthy way to seek that sort of entertainment (Doing these things in real life is not a healthy way to seek entertainment.) With 'HITS' it's a drama full of misunderstandings. As someone who has severe trust issues I always assume people hate me even friends who say all the time they enjoy my company. I am a nice person don't get me wrong I became best friends with my coworker in a week and have 13+ year-old friendships. (But do I assume they like hanging out with me? NO.) These elements in the story all stem from mental illnesses I personally have (depression, very low self-esteem, anxiety,) that I have used for realistic responses from the MC within the story. I have been trying to explore flaws so I tried to use real-life ones to make the character feel real. I also find in real life people can have misunderstandings and cut people out of their lives before even listening, to protect themselves from getting hurt. I admit she was preparing for the worst and it wasn't that she wanted to rob the child of a father, she just decided that she at that moment should prioritize the baby and create a stable life for them. Because in her eyes Hobi never loved her and never would and he wanted to be forever young. So she never wanted to tie him down and effectively ruin the glorious life she thought he wanted (it's a form of people pleasing, not letting yourself be a burden on others). "You had planned to raise this child as a single mother, You had hoped to tell Hoseok before all this happened, but you had planned for it just in case something like this did happen." This basically is her being like, I plan to tell him but I already know he won't want to be with me, so I can't be let down if I just prepare to do everything alone from the start. (She also then fell into the false hope that her lies wouldn't do any harm and that things were going great. Especially with Hobi there and happy to be by her side as long as he didn't know he was the father.) I don't remember the story that well it has been a while since I wrote it but I think you only really see things from certain perspectives. So most of the things her friends hear about the situation are from her, she recaps the restaurant scene where he says
“I didn’t think I had to, seeing as I am not the father of any children.” Which, she had relayed to the others as him rejecting her and refusing responsibility for their baby. Jin then says “I didn’t think we had to, seeing as you are not the father of any children.” Jin repeated his words back to him, “We aren’t picking sides but you made it clear you didn’t want to be a part of the child’s life. So we didn’t want to force you to be there.”
Meaning dude, we respect your decision you don't have to be a part of the child's life, we thought it would be best not to tell you especially since things are still pretty fresh. But at the same time Jin knowing but also respecting Hobi coming to terms with everything, says he needs to talk to her (cause he knows deep down the two love each other). Just as the group respected the Mc. That it was not their place to tell Hobi. They respected Hobi's decision to leave/take some time to consider everything regarding baby things. Hobi disappeared for a whole month not just from the MC but from the whole group. They didn't know if he would be back, they were just supporting the person who was about to have a baby. So they did sort of treat him a bit like a villain in the sense that they believed he had just packed up and left not returning phone calls when they reached out. With my ADHD I often assume because I know things like what someone is wearing or what they are doing or thinking, I assume the reader knows as well it's a flaw of mine.
Of course, above all else, it is a Drama fic which means for entertainment purposes things happen, like any good K-drama, someone gets hit by a car has amnesia meets their evil twin, and finds out that their first love was a killer robot who helps them solve the murder because they can see peoples aura's (all in the first episode). Some things in the drama genre are just for the drama. But also though some things might not make sense to everyone, there are others who relate to the same level of spicy brain thought processes or people who have been in similar situations. I agree that there are flaws in the situation but I think it adds to the human element of making mistakes and taking sides and things that people un/consciously do in real life. I have written fics with excellent communication within relationships and discussions when they have conflicts but not all stories can be perfect examples of healthy relationships, just like how not all stories can be happy endings.
It's funny to see the difference in comments I get, Yours was very well written and wasn't rude which I appreciated because sometimes the good is praised in the story, and the bad is taken out on the author.
Anyway I got to stop writing or this will be a novel in itself. Thanks again for the chance to discuss an old story. I appreciate your views and opinions regarding both my writing style and the storyline and characters.

Tumblr media
Based on this [PROMPT LIST]
Prompt: "Is that my shirt?" "You mean our shirt?"
Words: 444
Relationship: Felix x Reader
Genre: Fluff, Angst, Pining
Summary: Waiting for Felix to return from tour you were starting to doubt your friendship, looking for any form of comfort until he comes home.
There was nothing you hated more than being on your own and unfortunately, when your best friend was a Kpop Idol, it was inevitable that you spent seasons on your lonesome. Watching them through the screens like any loyal Stay. Pushing down jealousy at the fan's discussions regarding their personal lives, like you didn’t know all their darkest secrets growing up beside them.
The days would start to blur together and things were left unsaid.
“Where are you?” DELETE “How was your day?” DELETE “Is the concert going well?” DELETE “I saw pictures when you were in LA” DELETE “Look at this funny meme” DELETE “I miss you” DELETE DELETE DELETE
You couldn’t bring yourself to hit send. Sometimes you caught them in the chat, the three dots wiggling to signal that they were composing a message. What could they possibly have to say? You would never know because eventually they would disappear and nothing would be recieved.
They returned to Korea a week ago and hadn’t thought to contact you nor meet up. They were busy. It wasn’t because they hated you. It wasn’t because you were a bother. It wasn’t because they actually felt sorry for you and never actually wanted to hang out in the first place. Right?
It was a slippery slope that left you weeping a few times, checking your phone only to feel the disappointment grow. Feeling sick as your thoughts grow more and more intrusive. Abandonment issues rearing their ugly head as you bring your self back to the empty Chatroom. You found his things they had left behind in your apartment a beanie, a stuffed toy, a hoodie but their comforting scent had faded from each item.
Tossing your phone across the couch you make an effort to remove them form your mind concentrating instead on making lunch. Making lunch consisted of starring into the fridge deciding what you would eat versus what you were actually willing to create.
Contemplating your laziest option; a few slices of cheese your thoughts and outstretched hand interrupted by a knock at the door. Grabbing a single slice as you begrudgingly shuffled to the entryway. Placing the slice between your lips to free both hands for what you assumed was a parcel.
Lee Felix.
Standing there in all his glory. Every ounce of anguish disappearing as his image imprinted in your brain once more. Blonde Felix. Freckled and pouty lipped Felix. Your best friend Felix. Felix with the shy smile. Felix with–
"Is that my shirt?" Eyes drawn to the very familiar pastel pink and cropped shirt, the hem falling at the smallest part of his waist. The words ‘baby girl’ written in a darker pink extremely curly cursive font.
"You mean our shirt?" He gave the prettiest smile leaning against the door, hoping you would invite him in.

Hello everyone,
I have been gone for a while and want to get back into it.
I have not abandoned any of my stories I actually have chapters waiting to be posted but I haven’t got the uh motivation to post them.
But I do want to expand into Stray Kids and I do want to write more NCT things as well so I have a more well rounded library which means I would be doing BTS, Stray Kids, NCT and the untamed (but that’s posted to AO3)
I paused as I was trying to edit my work but I am thinking that can wait because it’s just killing my vibe currently I want to write again.
Anyway… I will be back with some more content this week might start with Stray Kids imagines just so I have a few little easy things to write about.
I also want to branch out into more gender neutral and male reader pov’s for everyone and I will change up my chaotic masterlist to something easier to understand :)
Just like simple:
A = Angst, F = Fluff, S = Smut
Anyway things coming I want to post a few little things tonight if I’m not to tired from work.

From the Ashes
I drew these on my wacom tablet they aren't the greatest but maybe you can see how I see Huihui.
Tumblr media
Huisei Hui's face was VERY inspired by Xie Wang from Word of honor. However, I took the liberty to change the lips, nose, and jaw shape to fit more of the characteristics I was looking for. I wanted to have a character that appeared both feminine and masculine, very androgynous.
They are an observant, learning character, so their eyes would be described as quite meticulous or shifty, always searching. Their eyes are charming and too innocent, they hide a lot of their actions behind them. ('Who me? I couldn't.' attitude).
They have a slight widow's peak which shows their stubborn and rebellious side but the width of their forehead says they are more practical towards their goals and I think the roundedness of their forehead shows how creative they are. Bursting with ideas, yet only working on the ones they know will succeed.
Their nose shows their determination, strong will, and spontaneity, they are usually involved in a lot of various activities. They are efficient and use their time with utmost planning and care. Their decisions are usually based on their gut feeling but they grow to trust which urge to pursue and which to leave. They often get what they want.
Hui’s face is very playful, borderline scary, and mischievous one that would be hard to show sincerity to those who don’t know them well. They would seem too silly or chaotic neutral but leans more towards chaotic good.
He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but does strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. He will intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy.
Tumblr media
Hui's hair I wanted it to be simple and yet with their own flair. This is the hairstyle they wear to the salute ceremony and will adopt from there on out. Two braids or buns usually means working and money-making, I think Hui works really hard, and their desire to excel and get everything they held back from in their first life. They were someone who would save for a rainy day instead of buying something always making an excuse for why they didn't need something. In this life they are more lenient if they want it they got it and they work hard for it.
Tumblr media
This hairpiece was made by Hui's father. (I don't like the design I created in the end so I may redraw it but for now). Hui's parents feel they are too country bumpkin for the cultivation world and do not wish to see their son treated as such so they design him the best and pamper him. Not to say that they don't treat all their children well. Hui is the only one who doesn't ask for it, so they feel the need to make him special things often to remind him they care. Hui's siblings are quick to ask for help financially and with items and travel. The two parents love their children but often get tired. Hui is the first cultivator in many years and their whole family knows how important it is to get them back on the map figuratively. They want to enter the cultivation world again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a rough design of the Huisei cultivation robes, I am unsure if they will change in the future. I like the meaning behind them it's very yin yang. there is evil in good and good in evil, both feminine and masculine. The idea that every day must end but the cycle keeps on going is also a little foreshadowing for Hui.
I love the idea of Huise Hui, Grey Ashes, courtesy name Huang meaning Pheonix. It's very fitting to be born again in another world. To rebirth cultivation in the Huise clan. But I am thinking of switching his courtesy name and his birth name.
I think while burning Golden Star energy and flying on their sword Wangji thought Hui looked like a shooting star. He associates shooting stars with Hui.
Hui sees the following people as these animals:
Huaisang - Badger (they are so patient and resourceful, and super cunning)
Wangji - Dove
Zixuan - Peacock
Wuxian - Bunny
Yanli - Butterfly
Jiang Cheng - Angry Goat
Xichen - Big Puppy
Qiren - Fish
Wen Ning - Little Lamb
Wen Qing - Snake (Dramatic change within, healing, transformation, intellectual, protection)
Tumblr media
This is Hui's sword, I am clearly not good at sword making haha the metal bending around just reminds me of a whisk. It will appear quite dainty but be heavy a sturdy sword. It will be quite a long sword and very swish. Also, my writing in Chinese is pretty rusty.
Tumblr media
When playing string instruments people sometimes use guitar picks, violin bows, and such. For the Pipa as it is quick striking of the strings and rapid running of the fingers back and forth over the strings there are things called Pipa nails little plastic things that wrap around the finger and protect the wearer's skin and nails. As plastic isn't something easily made in Ancient China fantasy or otherwise. So the ones Hui has are metal and look roughly like this: His Pipa nails are gold and talon-like, which creates more of his image of the Pheonix.
Hui's eyesight was something I thought would really give him some trouble. For someone who loves reading research and such, I have started to create a little deterioration and development in his eyes (which is quite normal for his age). I think that many eyesight issues were not really known or addressed and people didn't know how to fix the issues but Hui is a smart boy. It will challenge him for a while and also bring him some annoyance as he will have to start asking for help with certain things. That and he will notice he cannot observe Wuxian or Wangji up close as his eyes won't focus. He is still having glasses prepared by his father, and his eyesight will plateau once he finishes puberty. I just think it will make for some fun scenes between the boys as well as a little frustration.
Question from Directionally_Challenged: How powerful/talented is Hui in cultivation? Compared to others, that is.
Answer:
He is a good sword fighter but definitely nowhere near the best, many cultivators have surpassed him, and his sword is very fussy with its use, it uses a lot of power to unsheath it and so without breaking at least one golden star that sword ain't coming out of the sheath.
Cultivation, he is probably one of the best in the business, he will go down in history as someone who changed cultivation standards. But this only really works with the first half of the storyline, the next generations will soon surpass him as they should and he will continue to live as a legend as he passes on his knowledge to the younger disciples. His cultivation is on par with Wangji and Wuxian but each has their own qualities.
Wuxian is really good at instinctual cultivation. He can feel, hear and see things others can't or don't, he is an inventor of the unexpected and tester of limits. Always thinking outside the box.
Wangji is amazing because perfect practice makes perfect, his form is perfect his cultivation and everything is the best but when given a situation he is stuck in his box unable to think of any unconventional ways out of the situation.
Then you have Hui who has a lot of experience and wisdom from two very different lives. He utilizes them and creates not only his own understanding of cultivation but a universal understanding taking modern-day teaching and adapting those methods to teaching Cultivation. He conducted his research while traveling and asked any and every cultivator he could find to help him piece together a Complete guide to cultivation. He struggled. To come from a cultivation-less village and teach himself how to do things others already knew, he knew he was behind other disciples in these aspects but had broader knowledge than most. He took what he knew and he pushed and worked harder exploring almost every aspect of cultivation enough to understand it. He may not be a master in any particular field but he is quite exceptional in most of them. His dream which he is too embarrassed to admit is to become a household name, like Henry Gray who wrote a book on Anatomy (Gray's Anatomy). He wants to write the first textbook for Cultivation.
Medically Hui is also very skilled and he will make a few advancements in this industry, he prefers not to fight but to heal.
Physical strength, Hui is lower than average, he would be somewhere between Huaisang and Wen Ning (before fierce corpsed) he is kind of weak and weakened easily. His Meridians are wide allowing power to flow through his veins easily but the power sometimes runs out too quickly and his body also has a tendency to enter a preservation state when a lot of power is being expelled. Like when you donate blood, sometimes your body starts to redirect blood to your most important organs to keep you alive. Hui's body senses the golden core expelling a lot of energy and tries to protect him in a similar response. Kind of inconvenient but a little neat. It will be explained further in the story.
ANYWAY:
I am just revising some of the scenes adding a little more downtime scenes. I like writing scenes you don't get to see in the live-action and animated series, it makes it feel like a bit of an adventure. I am also trying to add some realness to it this way as well. Adding in the travel and cute or frustrating or sad scenes makes it seem more like a story that you can lose yourself in. I don't know could be me. I find a lot of my writing is very jumping through scenes so I am trying to get better and slow them down and add personal moments and witty banter. I don't know.
Tumblr media
This is the new uniforms for the young disciples it represents rebirth and elements of spring. Basically the revival of the clan. The leaders, elders and teachers will where similar outfits but with a darker green lace outer robe. The teachers and elders are a little more planly dressed but Hui and his brother have a more elaborate style with embroidery. That I would say is like Shen Qingqiu’s green outfit but with a darker lace outer robe like the lady below.
Lots of floral and birds and plant growth on their new robes.

Yoongi, Marry me!
Tumblr media
Beta: n/a (at the moment) Rating: All  Pairing: Min Yoongi x Reader’s DAD Genre: Celebrity au, fluff, drama, slice of life.
Summary: You admire BTS, but you weren’t madly in love with them, you could never justify giving up your life for people you didn’t actually know. You did however enjoy teasing the idols when you got the chance. Your father gave you the tickets to the BTS concert and a piece of cardboard.
“What is this for?”
“Don’t the best fans, hand make signs?”
“Come on we are going to be late” you pulled your father along the line you had priority entry and standing tickets in the middle of the stage which means where ever you turned BTS would be there. You remember your father handing you the tickets and a slab of cardboard with a grin.
“I know it’s early but Happy 13th birthday,”
“What is this for?” You tapped the cardboard confused.
“Don’t the best fans hand make signs?” He shrugged, “your mum used to write signs like this when she went to the backstreet boys, things like I love you Nick!”
“Mum was so lame,” You laughed
“Ahh but she would be so proud of you, if she could see the young woman you have become.”
I guess he had expected me to take a friend but they were all busy, you thanked him laughing off the idea of the sign, but you didn’t expect him to carry it under his arm, it was folded over the contents hidden from view, it made you a little curious. Your parents had been young when they had you, and your mother had passed away shortly after your first birthday. Your father did his absolute best to raise you with everything you could ever need and more. He worked hard and never cut corners and though he suffered in the beginning it paid off in the end.
He had been working at the stadium for years and so he managed to pull some strings and get some really great tickets. I was truly happy my father had gone to so much trouble for me knowing how much this band helped me through many struggles.
So after ducking to the bathroom you took your place in the standing area, there was some various chatting and your father was talking with some girls excitedly. He admitted he had never been to a concert and didn’t really know much of BTS. They explained the different members and they even leant him a spare army bomb.
~
Father’s POV:
~
When the music started and the show began needless to say I was dazed by the effects and music, the dancing, singing and visuals before him. “That one is Namjoon he is the leader,” The girls explained helpful
I waved the Army bomb and jumped to the music, a few guys approached me talking excitedly, I was honestly having a lot of fun getting to just connect with the performers and dance to the music. “It is nice to see another guy appreciate their music.”
“They are good performers why wouldn’t I appreciate them.” I grinned to the small group of guys dancing together, they gave me some snacks and a drink before resuming their circle of dancing and shouting.
“Hey you haven’t showed them your sign, this is their last song!” the girls said and pushed me forward with a grin, I gave a cheeky smile and opened the sign above my head.
I knew nothing about the group but I had wanted to show support with a brilliant sign that read, “MARRY ME” with red hearts. They were dancing and a few caught sight and giggled. I felt my cheeks light up as my face was on screen, I cheered and waved the sign happily and saw my daughter giggling and clapping in the background.
As the song came to an end one of the members sat on the edge of the stage and asked, “What is your name?” he held out the microphone.
“(name)” I smiled
“Ah, did you make the sign?”
“Yes, I thought every concert needs a sign of undying love” He grinned
“Who would you like to ask to marry you?” the man asked
“Yoongi,” One of the members pushed him forwards and the group chorused Yoongi as did some of the crowd.
“Ah, what do you do for a living?” Yoongi asked
“I work here actually, I bought tickets but I am the event manager, I make sure you get everything you want for the concert day, like fireworks.” I smiled “You guys have a great night, I loved the concert it was my first time seeing a real concert and not be working.”
Soon the patrons began to leave the stadium, I took my daughter to my office just to pick up the reports from the nights show, I called everyone to a meeting by the stage and smiled, “The concert was great, it really opened my eyes to what the audience gets to see. You guys have been working hard and I have some ideas on how to make the next two nights even better.”
“Thank you for your hard work tonight,” One of the performers from the band smiled, “Hey, it’s marry me (name)”
“Hey, thank you for the show,”
“We are one care short, so some of us will have to stay behind?” Namjoon said
“I mean if you want I can call a driver for you, or even drop you off somewhere,” He said, it is kind of my fault you only have one vehicle, “Hire another vehicle for tomorrow nights performance.”
“Of course sir,” they nodded making a note.
“Actually a ride home would be great,” Namjoon smiled and they split into two groups. They got into the vehicle and my daughter sat in the passenger seat, she played with the radio settling for classical tunes.
“What is the address?” I asked and put it into the GPS, the ride was filled with talking, “I am sorry, I don’t know much about BTS besides what I have seen tonight, what are your names?”
“Taehyung, Jimin, Namjoon.” They said smiling, “The others are in the other car, they are Seokjin, Yoongi, Hoseok and Jungkook.”
“Ah, sorry about the sign, I just thought it would be fun to write a sign and hold it up, my late wife had done that once before for her favorite performers, so I wanted to do the same, in her memory.”
“Ah that reminds me, do you mind if I stop by a bakery on the way home, it’s my daughters birthday today.” He ran in and came back out with some cupcakes and smiled. “You guys can all share them.”

Wings Unfolded
Tumblr media
Rating: All (mentions of death) Pairing: Ryu Minhyuk and friends Genre: Drama, Mystery, Magic. Words: 1.7k Summary:  Minhyuk finds out his magic is real when he makes his friend disappear. Suspected for her disappearance, he manages to go free. Knowing she is safe they live happily together until some meddling teens create new wounds for Minhyuk. AKA The life of Bella.
Arabella Read was my desk mate. Her family moved to South Korea many years ago, her father got a well-paid job and they lived comfortably. Her family was large, she had four siblings each older than herself, and because of this, she had no real expectations of her life. Though she was relieved from the stress of good grades and getting into college, she still tried her best. She just had the luxury to have a little more fun than most of the students.
It was odd coming from a family with different ideals, especially me her desk mate Ryu Min-Hyuk. I was such a studious kid but I was honestly miserable. She had recently learned a few sleight-of-hand magic tricks from her father and she made sure to show them to me whenever she could. In those short seconds, it was like I could forget about the exams and books and genuinely have a good time.
She would playfully pester, but I grew more and more unsettled as the days went on. It was hard to smile when my head was filled with worries. Her family caused quite the commotion, her father’s red hair, had been passed down to all of his children. I had noticed she had been previously bullied, but she never let it worry her.
I sat alone in the hospital bed my legs curled up to my chest, and I heard her step into the room. Her bag had a distinct jingle of keyrings that gave her away before her flaming red hair came into view. “Min-Hyuk?”
I turned to her, my eyes landing on her small form in the doorway and she smiled softly in return. She seemed unable to make a coherent sentence that expressed her care and concern for my condition. Perhaps she was worried that I would think she was pitying me. She stayed silent and cut fresh fruit. I saw the lights of the amusement park illuminate the afternoon sky, the top of the Ferris wheel was just in view from the window.
“Do you want to go to the amusement park?” she questioned, “My mum gets free admission because of her food stall, I can get us in if you want?”
My eyes met hers but I didn’t say a word, “Would you like to see a magic trick?” she asked with a raise of my brow. I watched her shuffle a pack of cards showing me the trick and I felt my lips pulled up in a small smile.”You can have the pack of cards if you like, and you can learn some tricks while you are in the hospital, my dad always says the real magic happens when the audience smile.”
“If you can make them believe…” She held out her hand and with a swish, she was holding a small flower, “then the magic will come to life”
I smiled taking the flower and watching her as she packed up the extra fruit into a small container and placed it beside my bed. She watched me play with the pack of cards, giving pointers and tips. She stopped by a few times and dropped off books on magic and more and I was lost in a world that truly called to me. She told me she would happily be my assistant and stand by my side on the stage. It made me happy to have her support.
As time went on the tricks and sleight-of-hand became something more, it was somewhere between the mix of books and the bump to my head. The magic I performed was different, I couldn’t control it completely. It wasn’t something I could command, but on special occasions, the magic words would make everything come to life.
I dropped out of school and spent my days at the amusement park. It was the night after one of our shows, I was wearing my black and white suit with a big red bowtie and she was wearing a red sequin dress that matched her crimson hair.
We were practicing a vanishing act, except when I said the words “Annara Sumanara” they felt heavy.
“You are under arrest for the suspicion of Arabella Read’s disappearance, if you could come with us, sir?” The policeman cuffed me, dragging me out of the theme park past all the children making a scene. I was painted to be a bad guy.
“You were the last person to see her, can you tell us about that night?” The officer questioned
“We were performing on the stage and as we finished we spent the evening trying a new routine,” I said softly rubbing my wrists where the metal cuffs were digging into my flesh.
“We found these in your change room, this is the dress she was wearing the night of her disappearance, can you tell me how they got in your change room.” The officer asked pressing with pictures and pieces of clothing.
“We share a change room, we are one act, so we take turns getting dressed.” I explained, “I didn’t do anything, she isn’t missing. It was a vanishing trick, I was supposed to make her disappear and when I said the words she was gone and I couldn’t find her, I promise you I have no idea where she went. Look at the footage, the whole place has surveillance if she leaves the theatre then you will see where she goes. Otherwise, she is still inside the theatre somewhere.”
“Then where is she, hiding under a sheet, in a box waiting for you to say the magic words?”
“I didn’t do anything.” My words were meek, but I was let free, the park was inspected but there was no sign of Arabella Read. The park was shut down due to the rumors and I had nowhere to go, so I made a home in the theatre.
The small music box Ferris wheel was spinning filling the room with a delicate tune, while I was changing my shirt. She gave a few audible kisses and a catcall catching my attention and I turned to face her.
“Ri-Eul, does it hurt?” She asked looking towards my shoulder, the scar was old and silvery against my skin.
“It doesn’t” I smiled reassuringly, it wouldn’t be good to have her fret over such an old wound. I took another shirt and she spoke again.
“Ri-Eul is in pain,” she repeated her voice concentrating on her words.
“Don’t worry. It really doesn’t hurt at all.” I grabbed my shoulder feeling the slight raise of the scar tissue, “It’s just a small remnant of a very old memory.”
I pulled on my shirt quickly, so she wouldn’t have to look at the old injury and buttoned up the shirt quickly.
I returned to her calling for me, I walked around the table and saw that meddlesome teenage girl Baek Hana hiding behind the table. I turned on my light and she screamed before collecting herself.
“What is it now?” I asked annoyed that she had broken into my home again. She told me it was because she was interested in me and my magic, but I could see the lies in her eyes. I wasn’t in the mood so I told her to “Come again later.”
Her words got on my nerves and I was unable to stop myself from asking, “Is it really my magic you are interested in, sneaking and peeping around-” There on her lapel was a small camera flashing at me, she was recording. I went to grab the camera and she moved.
“Actually, I am not that interested in magic. Plus if I really was interested I would pay to watch it in a theatre. Why would I come here?” When I pressed for her true reason for entering my home she replied with something I wasn’t expecting. “To get evidence. I thought I should let others know what is going on, in a place like this.”
She showed the video of the old man who had harassed Ah-Yi and in the video, it looked like I was trying to kill him. She began demanding answers, but the final straw was when she said my magic wasn’t real.
“I don’t care if you think I am totally crazy, but my magic?” I hissed clutching her wrist wanting to drag her from my home, so I could finally be in peace. I hadn’t made my best friend vanish with fake magic, I don’t make things come alive with tricks. “My magic is real.”
She threatened me with the footage and when I went to grab it she bumped into the heavy ornate cage on the table. The cage toppled over and the wooden branch inside fell crushing Arabella who had hit her head hard against the top of the cage. Her small body was struggling against the heavy wood her small cries were weak and strained.
In a thoughtless rage, I grabbed Baek Hana by the throat wanting her to feel the same pain as my Bella, but another cry had me letting go and rushing to Bella’s side. I was trying to pull the cage door open but it was jammed in, I tried to shake it free, tried to hit and claw at the cage to free Arabella from her suffering.
“Bella!” My tears were flowing as I struggled and finally, the door came free. I held her in my arms and placed her in a small bed. She must be in shock, but a part of me knew that she was dying.
“The police are looking for you, you have to hide someplace else.” Yoon Ah-Yi said softly
“My Bella is very sick right now.” I replied trying to control the shaking in my voice as I looked down at my longest friend “There was just a little accident.”
“I can take her to the hospital, but you have to go somewhere else.” Yoon Ah-Yi began but my tears were unable to stop.
“Bella, are you okay?” I sniffled trying to help her feel safe, her mind was calling out for company, but she was unable to say a word. “Can you hear me? I’m here”
“I will take her to the hospital.”
“Not the hospital, Bella says she doesn’t want to spend her last days in the hospital. She said she is not afraid of death, but she doesn’t want to be lonely.”
