1st wave of left hand speedrun art~
Started this to get back in the groove since way way behind my left hand art batches (started in July 2018), but thinking of doing more waves til my sketching level is closer to my dominant hand (with bonus line art training). Aim to keep it under 30 mins per doodle (forbidden to go over an hour) and do as often as able (minimum a wave per a month).
Also while doing this, reminded me a friend got me a T-shirt with Coran face on it as a gift, but forgot due to it not looking at it cause it was a lil unnerving in its lineless and noseless style. So finally tried to fix that with a sharpie ;P

Just thinking about once the truth is out, and Akira can hang openly around the Castle without having to pretend to be Keith, the paladins having to adjust to him being there. Which is weird, since it turns out he's been with them pretty much from the beginning. The only difference is that he's not pretending to be his brother anymore.
Just the paladins, stumbling upon Keith and Akira hanging out together and remembering there's actually two of them. Or stumbling upon just one of them, and trying to figure out which one they're dealing with- it sort of helps that only Keith wears the clothes from Earth now that they're not actively both pretending to be him, but unfortunately the paladin armor that gets made for Akira is also red. Not to mention their Blade armor is exactly the same- which is a thing, also.
The paladins getting to know Akira as his own person, rather than just his impersonation of Keith. Turns out he tends to be the more level-headed and less reckless of the two... at least in comparison to Keith. He actually likes Shiro's stupid puns. He's a lot less outwardly expressive than Keith, the more stoic of the two on the surface. He doesn't have Keith's sweet tooth, but he loves the stupid dramas that air on space TV while Keith hates them. Akira... definitely has less walls than Keith does, and his come from a different place than his twin's.
But they are also a lot alike. They start finishing each other's sentences at some point, like they're sharing thoughts. Apparently they are because they developed some sort of psychic link without anyone realizing it? Turns out they both are able to do things like sense energies, something their shared bond with the red lion has only amplified. It's so weird that they grew up so far apart from each other, in two totally different environments, but remained so much alike.
(And they both, unfortunately for the paladins, love messing with people. It's their love language.
But also sometimes it's just because they're both petty little assholes.)

Fairies and nymph — all mythfolk, truly, but Lance himself is half each fairy and nymph, so that’s for whom he speaks — are wary of humans. Individual humans are often quite charming, but in groups, or even alone and startled, and humans become prone to hysteria and panic. Their fear of what they do not understand makes them unpredictable. Dangerous.
It is for this reason that no fairy is encouraged to speak with a human. If you see one in the wild, you’re advised to fly quickly in the other direction, to flee. No one is expressly forbidden, but may the gods help those who are stolen by greedy humans, because no fairy will risk their wings.
Lance’s mother has banned him from even gazing at a human since he was a child.
Lance has never followed a rule he doesn’t like.
Lance has been enamoured with humans ever since he heard the first whisper about them, late at night by his oldest brother. The story had been meant to scare him, surely, but it instead lit a fire in young Lance’s veins, a curiosity that burned so bright that no amount of fear could quell it. He spent and spends most of his time exploring, observing humans at a distance. A distance to close, his mother would say — but any distance would be too close for her. Lance knew to keep himself safe, to keep more than a stone’s throw away.
But he could not stop himself from watching them.
He could never fully understand them. Their language seems to change from person to person, and is so deeply and personally contextualized that any attempt to discern the foreign sounds is ludicrously futile. He has tried, more times than he can count, to repeat the strange sounds to himself, discover their meaning, but has never found success. Instead he memorises their mannerisms. Humans gesture and act very similarly to each other; enough that after years of careful observation, Lance can often understand their intents and desires, the fruits of their conversation. Never details, nor stories, but feelings — he knows their emotions, and the way their bodies display them.
Most humans who enter the forest where he lives do so in pairs, or individually. Rarely does he see groups of three, and rarer still any more than that. When he sees large groups, though, they almost always have the same goal: to hunt. This group is no exception. There are at least a dozen of them, that he can see. All wear strange clothes and carry strange weapons. All walk in a cautious, particular sort of crouch, constantly searching for game.
Despite their strange attire, Lance is no more scared of them than any other humans. He trusts himself and his own ability, and he trusts to humans to act as they always do. Humans are creatures of habit, after all.
Except… these humans are not acting as Lance has watched hunters act. One by one, they seem to separate from the group, picking a direction seemingly at random and rushing off into it. They continue this strange pattern until the last of them runs off, turning abruptly around a tree until they are out of Lance’s sight.
Confused, Lance gently lands on the ground, standing on a soft patch of moss. He spins in a slow circle, looking as far as he can into each direction of the forest, but no hunter makes themselves visible. Lance’s wings flutter in perplexion. Of all groups who traverse into the forests, hunters carry the most camaraderie. They rarely leave each other’s sides, preferring instead to corner game together and congratulate one another for a succession shot. This behaviour is strange, even for humans.
A sudden, barking yell pierces the air, and before Lance can take for the skies, a net falls right above him, entangling him and throwing him to the ground. Only, then net is nothing like the ones he weaves to fish. It’s heavy, the lines thick, and sharp barbs dig into his skin and catch onto his delicate wings.
He cries out, in fear and in pain, but the sound is drowned out by the dark laughter and merry congratulations of the many hunters who have revealed themselves from behind a ring of tries.
Lance feels his eyes well with panicked tears. While it’s true that he’s not infallible, and it’s possible that he’s been spotted before by the humans he observes, he’s never been — tricked. Hunted.
Betrayed.
Lance wrenches away from the first rough touch in his skin, but in seconds the rest of the humans have a hold on him, scratching and pinching and gripping, in some places. He feels a fist wrap around the delicate skin of his wing, and screams in terror. He begs them to let him go, but they cannot understand him, and only laugh at his tears. Lance begins to realise that they would not release him, even if they could understand his words. He is their prize.
In a desperate attempt to escape, Lance summons all his energy, rapidly changing his shape and size to throw the humans off. Many of the humans startle, their yells of elations turning rapidly into those of fear and anger, and most hands pull away.
But one does not. One hand remains steady, clenched tight around his wing, no matter Lance’s size.
Lance, it seems, has a choice to make.
If he stays, his energy will fade. He will quickly lose any upper hand he has, succumb to his exhaustion, and these humans will have a hold on him completely. But if uses the last of his energy to wrench himself away now, he will be free. Whatever the cost.
Lance makes his choice.
He gathers the last of his strength and throws himself as far away as he can. He hears a horrible ripping sound before he feels it — the excruciating pain of his wing tearing off his body. His skin, too, scratches and tears, the barbed wires of the net ripping from his flesh as he pulls himself free.
But he escapes. Bloody and half dead and never able to fly again, he escapes.
He stumbles home in a daze, quickly at first, but slower as he gets farther from the humans and closer to the village. He’s barely conscious by the time he collapses into the cobblestone street of the village circle, can barely hear the gasps of terror and desperate calls for the healers.
It’s true that no fairy will brave into the human world to save one that has been lost. But no fairy will turn him away, refuse to treat him. He is healed, to the best of the healer’s ability; ripped flesh sewn together, blood washed away.
But there is nothing that can be done for his wing. Or rather, the tattered stub that remains. He is treated with care and pity, as he heals. As his wounds close and every step slowly decreases in agony.
But in the years after his… incident, people stop being able to look him in the eye.
‘The foolish fairy,’ mothers whisper to his children. ‘Snuck away to dance with the humans, and was blind to the grip they had on his wings. He escaped, but will never truly be free.’
Lance is safe, with the other fairies, but is never without shame. His community — his family — think him daft, an embarrassment. His back may have healed, but this pain never will.
Shunned from his people, Lance returns to his wanders through the forest. He knows it’s witless, stupid — but he cannot bear to stay and waste his life among those who will never see him as equal. Although he still sleeps in his bed in the village and shops in the shops and listens to the stories shared in the circle, he is on the outskirts. So he finds his peace again among nature, although the peace will never again be so trusting.
Eventually, Lance starts to notice some sort of company, in the forests — never too close, of course not, but always on the fringes: a man. A human man. He is not dressed as a hunter, nor does he walk like one. He often even strays far away from where Lance spends his days. The human’s mannerisms are distracted and aimless — Lance doubts the man would see him if Lance were to dance in front of him. This man, it seems, is here to escape just as much as Lance.
As foolish as it is, Lance can’t quell his curiousity. He begins to trail the main — carefully, this time, always from the highest perches in the trees, even though he must climb to reach them — watching him.
Sometimes, the man sings.
The man is never armed. He is not destructive, even, like many humans can be. He simply wanders around the forest, sometimes sitting by brooks or streams to paint, or to hum. oOnce, he even brought some sort of instrument, plucking idly at the strings.
Lance decides, although he knows he shouldn’t, that this human is safe.
He lets himself become more and more obvious in his trailing. He hides among the lower branches of the trees, intentionally leaving the tip of his wing visible when the man paints. Slowly, he watches as curiousity begins to spark the man’s demeanour — no longer do his eyes look vacantly before him. Now he is searching, for answers to the strange sights he has been seeing.
For the first time, Lance is pleased by the attention. the scrutiny. This man searches for glimpses of Lance like one scours the desert for water after days of baking under the sun. It’s been a long time since lance was… sought after, in a way that was not malicious.
The second time the man brings the instrument to a forest, he sits by a bright blue pond, and sings a song he has never sung before. Lance is intrigued by the lyrics — he cannot understand them, but the words seem to shape themselves in a manner that speaks almost of an enchantment.
The man visits the next day, again with his instrument, and sings the same song.
And the next day.
And the next.
By the fifth day, Lance can suppress his curiosity no longer. He waits for the man by the pond, watching him warily from a rock. The man’s eyes widen when they land on him, tracing disbelievingly over Lance’s wing, but then a soft smile graces the man’s face, and he settles down and begins to play. It’s a different song, this time. A happier one. One of satisfaction.
The man plays for hours, singing until his voice runs hoarse. He smiles one more time at lance before standing. He speaks directly to Lance, looking at him expectantly. Lance does not understand the words, but he feels as if he may understand the question: ‘Will you be here, tomorrow?’
Lance swallows. He reaches carefully behind him, brushing the frayed stubs of the wing that was stolen from him.
He knows what the wise choice would be.
But he knows the choice he wants to make.
Lance nods.
The man comes the next day, as Lance knew he would. He brings paints, this time. He spends hours focused intently on his art and on Lance in equal measure. When he finishes, he carefully flips the painting so Lance can see, and Lance gasps when he sees it: a portrait of him, surely, but not a version of him he recognises. The version of lance in the painting is etheral. Non-mortal.
Beautiful.
Lance is not beautiful.
But the man seems to think so. In the days, weeks, months he meets Lance at the pond, he paints countless portraits of Lance, each more breathtaking than the last. Sometimes Lance is smiling, sometimes he is laughing — although he doesn’t understand a word the man speaks, his mannerisms are amusing, and he has found ways to joke and play without using his voice. He even paints, once, Lance as he cries, from a day Lance caught his own reflection in the water, wingless and broken, and could not suppress his tears. The man makes him look beautiful even among his sorrow.
The man gestures to himself, one day. “Keith,” he says. He looks at lance expectantly.
“Keith,” Lance attempts to repeat, but the sound is foreign on his tongue. It sounds closer to ‘Keet’. The attempt makes the man smile. He gestures to Lance, asking for a response.
“Lance.”
The man smiles and repeats it. After this, they begin to slowly teach each other words from their native tongues. Sometimes Keith draws the meaning his words, either on paper or in the mud. Lance often must mime his out, which amuses them both. It takes months of practice, but eventually they learn to understand each other.
“I’m happy I found you,” keith says, as he plucks the strings on his guitar.
“I allowed your discovery of me,” Lance responds. Keith laughs.
“That’s true. I’m happy it happened, regardless. My world is brighter with you in it.”
One day, Keith arrives at the pond before Lance; something he’s never done before. He’s — nervous. Lance has never seen him nervous.
“What troubles you?” Lance asks gently.
Keith won’t look him in the eye. Lance’s heart pounds — in fear or anticipation, he cannot tell.
“I have something I’ve wished to ask you since I saw you sitting by the pond that first day,” Keith whispers.
“For so long?”
“Yes.”
“That was years ago, Keith.”
Keith swallows. “It was.”
“Why are you afraid to ask me?”
“I’m afraid of your answer. if the change it will bring.”
“You’re so sure it will bring change?”
“Questions always do.”
Lance hums. He watches Keith’s hand twitch, as if he’s suppressing its movement.
“You may as well ask me,” he says. “I will always wonder, now.”
“I’m not sure if I should. It might be better, to simply wonder.”
“You’re scaring me, Keith. Tell me. Please.”
Keith holds the breath in his lungs, as long as he can. When he exhales, he forces the fear out with it. When he blinks again, the only thing left in his eyes is resolution. Surety.
Lance smiles. Keith is a brave man. Lance loves that about him.
“I want to ask for you hand,” Keith says, then pauses, shaking his head. “No. I want to beg for it.”
His eyes, dark as a winter violet, look intensely into Lance’s. “Marry me, Lance. Please.”
Lance’s eyes widen. His heart pounds, faster than a river’s rapids. His wings — wing — flutters.
“Marry you?”
There’s hardly any voice to his words. He speaks with so much breath that he can feel his question almost flutter away in the breeze.
But keith catches it.
He always catches lance.
“Yes. There is nothing more that to life than you, Lance. You are the stars in my sky and the beat of my heart. If you’ll have me, I want to share my life with you. I never want to spend a day without you.”
“We already spend every day together.”
Of all the foolish things to say. Lance flushes redder than he’s ever been before, from his chest to his hair.
“I — I meant —”
But Keith only laughs, softly and kindly. He takes Lance’s left hand and squeezes it tightly. “We do spend every day together,” he agrees, bringing Lance’s hand up to his mouth and kissing it softly. “I should have been clearer. I never want to spend a moment without you, my heart. Every minute without you by my side is a minute wasted.”
Lance breathes deeply, although his lungs shudder. “You truly want me? Broken as I am, inhuman as I am?”
“You are everythint to me, just as you are,” keith says fiercely. “I have never seen anything but beauty in you, Lance. You must know that.”
The truth is that Lance does know that. He knew from the moment Keith first painted him. The moment he first sang to him, even, before they had even met. It was why Lance’s heart chose to trust him, before his head agreed.
“Yes,” Lance breathes.
Keith smiles so widely his eyes crinkle. “Yes, you know, or yes, you’ll marry me?”
“I’ll marry you. I —” Lance swallows around the emotion caught in his throat. He lifts a shaking hand to rest on Keith’s shoulder, the other still firmly entwined with Keith’s.
“I’ve never wanted anything more.”

Sketches from a fem!Sheith ATLA AU that I never ended up writing where Keith is the Fire Princess, and Shiro is a Fire Nation soldier-turned-Sun Warrior tasked with teaching Akira (Keith) firebending (she owed a favor).
Akira doesn't firebend much, not after loosing her father in a tragic accident, but it turns out the princess is remarkably skilled with swords. Shiro is smitten (but of course, so is the princess) ❤️

This was started back in July as suggested by @rubymoon-snape, but I kept putting it off. Until now.
Ruby wanted to see Keith interacting with Darrell when he's older, so here they are. Post series, teenage Darrell grown and probably going on some Blade missions for training with Keith.
And.
Well.
Uh.
Guys? Did you blow something up? Probably.
I love that Keith is a bit horrified, though probably more afraid of how Pidge'll respond. Darrell on the other hand is just grinning and amused. Perfect chaos is brewing in his soul; he's definitely Pidge's kid.
Anyway! I hope y'all enjoy this one, including an older version of our favourite baby!
Until next time!

I see someone write for Voltron, I request. Anywho, I wonder how an enemies to lovers scenario would go with Keith and a Female s/o. S/O is goofy, too kind for this world, and naive and yet is still gets good grades. However, much to Keith's luck, she's denser than bricks and is oblivious to his dislike towards her.
HOLY SHIT I HAVENT SEEN THIS UNTIL NOW IM SO SORRY IDEK WHEN YOU REQUESTED THIS
now idk if you wanted it in the cannon au or a high school setting, but I'll do both
IS THE VOLTRON FANDOM EVEN STILL ALIVE?? I NEED VOLTRON MOOTS

This Is The Part Of Me (That You're Never Gonna Ever Take Away) by negativefouriq - Rated T
Lance finishes reading the file, then turns to face Shiro. Shiro braces himself for an onslaught of questions, and readies himself to message Coran — “Is this your way of quietly kicking me off Voltron?” — and freezes. Huh? “Pardon?” Lance swallows roughly, eyes trained on his fidgety hands. “Um, I asked if this is your way of kicking me off the team,” Lance repeats. Shiro has never felt more like his brain was completely empty, because he has no fucking clue what to say. --- OR: Shiro and Lance have a misunderstanding. But Shiro wants nothing except for his kids to be happy, so he clears things up as quickly as possible.

If he doesn’t leave, all of him will be reduced to cinders. But if he leaves, all of him will be undone. A course that he will choose to chart, no matter how it breaks his heart. It’s a battle that cannot be won. - Their names burn inside him, seared onto his soul. Black coal sits in the centre of his chest, fuelling a fire that was soon to be smothered by the very people that set it ablaze.

“You were right when you said I shouldn’t be leader. All of you were right and Shiro was wrong. I can’t be what you guys need,” he said quietly. “No,” Hunk said defiantly. “You’re the one who’s wrong. Because you’ve been there for us. You didn’t want to be the leader of Voltron but you did it anyway. For us.” “And I almost got all of you killed in the process! Look, once Shiro can pilot Black again, what would I stay for?” “Us! This is a war!” “If they can’t pull their weight then maybe they shouldn’t be here. No! I don’t want to hear it, I’m going to go train.” ••• Hunk wasn’t an angry guy, he wasn’t short tempered or easily poked. More Adashi AU
- Adam talks to Shiro while Shiro pilots the Atlas, Adam says some words that feel like a goodbye and Shiro calls out to him. He thinks Adam is dead (Adam was able to evacuate his plane before it crashed with the Galra)
- Upon hearing that the Galra are coming, Shiro and Adam argue over Adam being involved
- Once the quartet of Matt, Adam, Shiro, and Keith are reunited Matt and Keith hound Shiro like annoying brothers for leaving Adam and Keith behind
- Adam saying the words "we're going to get you to the medbay and once you're all healed up we're going to have a sparring match where I throw you around like a rag doll" / "don't ever worry me like that again. I don't know if I can ever take a loss like that again"
-Adam infiltrates Galra forces and travels with them in space. Shiro can't believe what he sees when he thinks Adam is willingly working with Galra
-with Kerberos being considered a bust bc of "pilot error" The Garrison wants to send others into space to retrieve the Kerberos crew. Voltron crew finds Adam's ship just floating in space with no life force seeming to be inside. They investigate to find Adam on the floor and alone. Turns out there's barely enough oxygen for even a new born let alone a grown adult (bonus if Adam's ship was hit with quintessence); Shiro refuses to leaves Adam's side while he's in the healing pod
-Adam somehow being used to help power the Galras main ship that attacked earth like some Alteans were
-They never confessed their feelings so when Shiro is determined to go on Kerberos Adam just sits with his feelings and waits; both thinking they've missed their chance with the other (cue Matt, Keith and Pidge trying to get them together when they reunite)
-Soulmate/soul marks AU where Shiro and Adam do not meet until Shiro comes back from space
- (shout to Chibi-pix for this one) Adam is like a brother figure to Pidge which results in Keith and Pidge being siblings causing Iverson to lose his mind bc Keith and Pidge are Matt and Shiro 2.0s (Lord help him when an Adam 2.0 enters the picture); Adam and Shiro are blissfully aware of their siblings antics but act like they aren't
-Kuron goes to Earth and kidnaps Adam
-Shiro is forced to choose between Keith and Adam
- They start off as a one-sided rivalry until an incident forces them together and they start to get to know each other
-more patient Adam and reckless Shiro
-Adam joins the Blade of Marmora where he runs into Keith (Adam still thinks Shiro is dead) Adam is with him in the two years in the Abyss and reunites with Shiro when Keith returns to the Paladins
-Eros!Adam and Psyche!Shiro
-Teen Titans AU where Shiro is Cyborg and Adam is Bumblebee (points for Kuron being Brother Blood)
-Camp Half-Blood demigod Shiro and Camp Jupiter Half-Blood Adam
-Adam and Matt get buried alive and Shiro is a reck trying to find them (Adam) so they don't die
-Baker/Cook Adam and Shiro who can't boil water without setting it on fire
-Adam and Shiro swap roles (neither are dead though)
-Shiro and Adam meeting once when they were kids but not meeting again until they are older. Both remember but Adam acts like he doesn't recall it at all
-Both are cadets and one has a significant other while the other is pining hard (s/a with the significant other doesn't last long, significant other also happens to be mutuals with Adam and Shiro)
-Shiro trains and gets a bad bruise on his neck that everyone thinks is a hickey until Adam returns from a trip (cue Keith defending Shiro but the other Paladins and co think maybe Shiro cheated)
-Shiro confesses to Adam one night but acts like he doesn't remember it then he and Adam spiral in their feelings

Yandere rivals Lance vs Keith ~ (platonic/ romantic vibes for both if that makes sense ?) with a paladin in training ?
I haven't finished the show but I did do some research. If things seem wrong or out of character that's why. I got impatient and really wanted go write this also it's been in my drafts for a bit :( I may rewrite this in the future if it makes no sense.
(AU where Darling is trained to be the Blue Paladin by Lance and Keith-)
Edit: I actually want to flesh this out at some point, I can make this AU work with more tweaking lol.
Yandere! Lance vs Keith
Ft. Paladin-In-Training! Darling
Potential Voltron: Legendary Defender Spoilers/Black Paladin! Keith AU
Pairing: Platonic/Romantic - Rivalry
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Jealousy, Dubious companionship, I'm going against canon plot intentionally for once in my life, Manipulation, Leans platonic but either works, Possible OOC characters I apologize in advance, Overprotective behavior, Controlling behavior, Mature language at one point, Slight violence, This is mostly just them being competitive.
Tumblr media
There's two ways I could tackle this.
I could've written this with Black Paladin! Keith and Red Paladin! Lance but I also could've done a more general version with them still as their previous colors.
For this I'll base it sometime after Keith gains the Black Lion and Lance swaps to the Red Lion with research I did but in an AU. (I'm sorry if things seem off due to this :()
When the Blue Lion lacks a Paladin after Shiro's connection got severed from the Black Lion, something needed to be done.
A Paladin is needed for the Blue Lion... and you were chosen.
How you meet Lance and Keith is through your training.
Zarkon is still a threat and you can't form Voltron without the Blue Lion.
Essentially the gist of this is Lance and Keith act as teachers towards you, that was the idea in my head even if it doesn't make sense in canon.
Let's bend canon a bit as much as I hate to.
Obviously Lance is going to want the job of teaching you.
He knows the Blue Lion better than anyone, right?
Meanwhile Keith wants the job as he thinks if you connect with him it'll help connect to your Lion faster.
Lance is still a bit teasing and playfully flirty with you but is mature.
Keith still has to keep him in line yet it's easier than when they were beginner Paladins.
Keeping this general they both mostly have a mentor role with you.
Hunk and Pidge help you with training at times but Keith and Lance are your main teachers.
Lance sometimes brags about being your main mentor due to his past connection with the Blue Lion.
Keith shuts him down by reminding him that he's still leader.
They're both protective yet stubborn.
There's times they'd fight as they've been rivals with each other even before their new roles (according to Lance for the most part).
In terms of who you'd be the closest with... it depends.
You could be close to Lance, due to how often you train together and how playful he is towards you.
Learning to be a Paladin can be stressful and he wants you to stay in a good mood with him!
He teaches you how to use your Bayard, which appears to give you a preferred weapon you'd use.
He even teaches you how to properly use your Lion, you need to truly connect, after all.
Lance loves to praise you... he thinks you're a good fit for the Lion he used to use.
Keith is more serious and protective with training.
As the Black Paladin he feels it is his duty to teach you bravery in battle and how to use your given weapon in battle.
It's mostly Lance giving you Lion training and Keith giving you battle training.
Depending on which training you like more is who you're closest to.
This kind of rivalry isn't entirely violent it's more just competitive.
Their obsession just starts as who can train you better.
When you get closer to them that's when it swaps to something a bit more than competitive.
The two trust each other but they get jealous.
Lance gets more jealous than Keith.
Keith didn't have to step in...
He could've taught you battle tactics and Lion techniques alone!
Keith thinks Lance is being petty as usual, but secretly wishes he could train you alone too.
Paladins need constant training, when the two do train together it's harsher than normal.
It's like they're trying to one-up each other and it's almost always Lance instigating it.
Lance tries to make the whole rivalry all about impressing you.
Keith hates that you make Lance give into past behavior and wishes the Red Paladin would get ahold of himself around you.
Keith's much calmer as a leader, more stoic even.
He gives into his protective behavior when you're threatened.
In fact, your safety is the one thing that makes them work together and drop the rivalry momentarily.
What kind of teacher would either of them be if they allowed you to be hurt?
In this scenario they aren't really the kidnapping type of yandere.
They are sometimes violent but keep their composure around you.
Pidge and Hunk admit they fight and are competitive with your attention, but tell you they mean well.
They both care for you, platonic or romantic.
They'll work together when they need to.
They'd both be controlling at times, unfortunately.
Lance manipulates you into staying with him longer by using training as an excuse.
Keith is... uh... busy! So, Lance needs to train you in battle now!
Keith finds this irritating.
Keith uses his role of leader to get payback by giving Lance another task instead of training, allowing Keith to help you with your Lion.
Which pisses off Lance.
They may fight but they can work together when it's needed.
They applaud you when you're able to form Voltron for the first time with them
They both know with their training, you'll be a good edition to Team Voltron and defend the universe alongside them both.
Even if they do fight over your attention behind the scenes.

New fic idea? With no title yet? And I don’t really have a summary just yet, but basically it’s a voltron The Forest au (bc ive been playing way too much of that game). Think a bit like the tv show Lost? Or The Wilds? But with more comedy and it’s also pretty close to crack treated seriously, featuring Keith having to be the leader of a ragtag group of survivors as everyone slowly becomes more crazy than even he is. And Lance being a badass, and everyone being a badass really. Anyway, let me know if you think it’s interesting enough to post on ao3??
Also! I should note, Keith and Lance are strangers in this fic and I, for one, firmly believe that Lance would flirt with anything with legs if it wasn't for the fact that Keith and him were rivals in canon.
CW: A plane crash, minor injuries including bruising and a bit of blood, and a dead body
----
Keith’s head was ringing something fierce as he came back to a slow consciousness. God, maybe this was why he never slept on planes if this was the apparent outcome. He blinked out the stubborn weariness from his eyes. The sound -the real sound- slowly welled back up, birds chirping distantly.
…Wait, birds? Why would he be hearing birds on a plane-?
And that’s when he saw it. Over the tops of the shitty main cabin seats in front of him, between the useless dangling oxygen masks, there was a forest.
Not like out the window or like some fake painted on trees to make it not seem like they weren’t in a metal tube flying high in the sky. There was an actual forest filled with actual trees a good few rows in front of him, all framed by the broken-in-half plane.
Ok, no, maybe he did sleep on planes because that absolutely wasn’t real. Not a chance in hell. Keith sat up to try and find more evidence that this was clearly just a stress dream, only to cry out in abrupt stabbing pain from his midsection. He looked down, wincing as he pulled out his shirt slightly. He was met with his own skin painted with a mirage of angry purples and blues around the edges of where the thick seatbelt still held him in place.
A bruise. He had a bruise all along his lower stomach. Which would make sense to have if the seatbelt stopped him from going forward extremely abruptly. Like, let’s say, in the event of a plane going from some super fast speed that Shiro would know to an absolute and utter zero. And that only happened when…
In a second of what he would later convince himself was momentary hysteria, all he could think was, damn, looks like we aren’t making it to the connecting terminal on time.
He then much more rationally jolted forward in his seat again (and was greeted with the same sparking pain) at the fact that the plane had fucking crashed. What the fuck? What the FUCK?!
As quick as lightning, Keith undid the stupid seatbelt and turned to Shiro beside him. The man was still out like a light, but breathing, thank fuck. He checked diligently for anything seriously wrong (shrapnel, lacerations, currently bleeding anything- oh god, oh fuck? What was happening?).
Somewhere near Shiro’s hair and all across his nose area was covered in dried blood, a bruise forming around the former. That definitely meant a concussion, right? Keith wasn’t a doctor, he had no idea how to check that. The blood seemed to be slowing to a crawl, which was probably good.
There wasn’t anything majorly wrong on his body so it seemed. Or at least, there wasn’t anything wrong that wasn’t already wrong. His arm was missing, which sounded terrible until it was taken into account that it was his already amputated arm… From a plane crash… A different plane crash… Oh, Shiro was going to be so pissed when he woke up. Who gets into two plane crashes??
A groan coming from directly behind him derailed that train of thought. Keith whipped around to look at the source of the noise (much to his strongly protesting body). A tanned, narrow-faced guy somewhere around Keith’s own age was slowly blinking his way into consciousness just like Keith had. His face was full of freckles and what looked like only a few slight bruises from where Keith could see. Overall, the other… survivor looked to be in about as good a shape as Keith was.
Jesus, just the thought of saying ‘survivor’ was not really sinking in. They had survived a fucking plane crash. That wasn’t a thing that just happened, much less twice in Shiro’s case. He even joked that he was flying with Shiro because lightning never struck the same spot twice. Evidently, it fucking did. Maybe he shouldn’t have tempted the universe like that…
“Mullet?”
Keith refocused on the guy now staring at him, scoffing at the incredibly slurred and equally confused ‘nickname’.
“Are you… dying or whatever?” Keith asked.
The guy tilted his head, his face scrunching up at the question until he refocused on the mask sitting securely on his nose. He yanked it off as careful as a band-aid, watching it strangely as it bounced back up toward the ceiling.
The guy turned back to Keith, a silent question in his eyes. It seemed to answer itself though, as the stranger’s widening eyes filled with the soft sunlight trickling in over Keith’s shoulder.
“Ho-ly crow,” The other survivor shook himself like that’d get him to wake up. Keith understood the feeling.
“I… I think the plane went down,” Keith winced at his own statement. Obviously the fucking plane went down. No plane landed fine with only half of it left, especially not just the back half.
“Looks like it,” The guy replied hollowly before his face filled with alarm, “Oh my god! Hunk! Pidge!”
Blue Shirt (he really needed to learn this guy's name, but that would have to do for now) turned to his oddly named friends. Which was Hunk and which one was Pidge, Keith had no idea. They seemed to be like Shiro, alive but not quite up yet, if the sigh of relief Blue Shirt let out said anything.
The guy turned back to Keith with a lot more awareness, “What happened??”
“Like I said, the plane-”
“No, no, I don’t need the obvious! Clearly!” The guy frantically gestured over the seats, “I meant like, how are we even, you know?”
“Alive?” Keith finished, “I don’t have a damn clue.”
“And what about everyone else?” Blue Shirt asked.
Keith tilted his head.
“Like, the other people. There was a- a cute, little elderly couple right over there,” Blue Shirt pointed across the aisle, “Where did they go? Where did everyone else go?”
Probably thrown from the plane, Keith’s mind darkly supplied. He didn’t, however, want to come off as a complete freak to the only other survivor awake right now.
“Maybe they already got out?” Keith tried (and failed) to sound optimistic.
The guy frowned, seemingly trying to process that, “...Right. Okay. And they probably just left us because… because… Because! They didn’t know how injured we were, and that’s, like, a rule! Totally! You don’t move the injured people because their spines could be damaged and everything! Trust me, I’ve watched all of Grey’s Anatomy, even the truly bad seasons.”
Very trust-inducing, Keith didn’t voice. He nodded tentatively despite that thought.
Blue shirt stood- oh goddamnit, this was getting annoying, “Hey, what’s your name?”
“Hm?” The guy stretched out in the aisleway, pain evident in his face, “Oh, um, right. The name’s Lance, but you can call me the man of your dreams.”
“W- what?” Keith definitely didn’t squeak that out. Also his face definitely didn’t go tomato red. Also his heart didn’t feel like it just had a palpitation. Also- You know what, shut the fuck up. How was he supposed to react to that?? Who realized they were in a plane crash and immediately f- flirts with the only other awake survivor???
Lance (the man of Keith’s apparent dreams, what the fuck, what the fuck, what the-) grimaced in what looked like sincere apology, “Sorry, sorry, not the place. I think my head’s a bit, uh, scrambled, you know? From all this? Anyway, what’s your name, Mullet Man?”
“...Keith,” He dragged out of his mouth (stop fucking staring at the pretty guy who just trauma-flirted with you), “And it’s not a mullet.”
Lance put a hand on his hips, or tried to. He winced at the touch and let it drop, “Puh-lease. I spotted that thing the moment you walked on the plane. Shorter in the front?”
“I guess,” Keith answered tersely.
“And longer in the back?” Lance raised an eyebrow.
“Yes?”
“Ha! See, that’s literally the definition of a mullet: business in the front party in the-” Lance abruptly choked on the air, hand going to cover his mouth as his eyes went wide as saucers. He stumbled backwards, grabbing on to the flimsy blue seats to stop himself from falling completely, “O- oh my god.”
Keith stood ready to catch Lance, expecting to see him losing blood or something, “What’s wrong?”
With a face three shades paler, Lance pointed over Keith’s shoulder. Was… was he just now processing their wrecked plane? Even after they talked about it? Nevermind. Trauma was weird sometimes. That was what his old therapist used to say at least. Maybe it was still settling and that’s why Lance kept going on weird, unnecessarily long tangents?
“The plane crashed,” Keith repeated slowly like he was talking to a spooked deer, “Are you hurt or-?”
“N- no, Keith, look,” Lance demanded, voice shaking.
Keith turned in confusion to follow Lance’s eyes only to be meet with-
Oh.
Oh.
A woman -one of the stewardesses, Keith assumed by the neatly pressed uniform- laid dead-eyed in front of them. Her limbs were sprawled out, her head haloed by the bent edges of where the broken plane met the open air. Grimly, Keith thought that that made sense. Of course not everyone would survive a goddamn plane crash.
But then he noticed what killed her. It wasn't being tossed by the aggressive turbulence, nor was it the excess metal shrapnel from around the edge of their halved plane, no.
Glimmering there in all the glory of the midday sun was a bloodied axe buried squarely in the middle of her chest.

VOLTRON HIRAETH AU!!
(link to my page here :D) https://archiveofourown.org/users/GraphX
Basically a rundown of the plot I have planned so far! I will be writing and posting in order on AO3!
But there are some specific scenes I wanted to write because I don't have the patience or time to write everything in order(I'll be posting them here under the Hiraeth AU tag) THIS ENTIRE THING IS GEN BTW!!!
Hiraeth
(n.) a homesickness for a home to which you cannot return, a home which maybe never was; the nostalgia, the yearning, the grief for lost places of your past
• Allura from another reality goes quintessence crazy after defeating Haggar at the cost of the lives of the other Paladins
• She goes from universe to universe trying to gather enough quintessence to bring back her reality that she accidentally tore apart but only gets worse and worse the more quintessence she is exposed to
• In the current universe she experiments with quintessence and accidentally kills her parents along with Zarkon and Honerva. Villian!Allura turns the blame to the Galra, causing the Allura of this universe to wage war on them as the only successor to the Altean throne.
• Lotor tries to convince Allura that her other self is lying to her but she doesn't believe it, leaving Lotor to flee from the Galran commanders trying to kill him to gain the throne(he goes into hiding before organizing a resistance after meeting the other generals)
• Villian!Allura is concerned that the Paladins of this universe will try to stop her so she destroys Earth
• However prior to the Altean invasion the Kerberos mission took place with Sam and his crew consisting of Matt, Adam and Shiro(who are all 16/17 for plot reasons they were interns or something IT MAKES SENSE DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!!!)
• Sam, Matt and Shiro are kidnapped and sent to the arenas while Adam manages to steal a ship to get back to Earth, only to find it destroyed
• The Galran Empire remnants (who were already planning on attacking Earth and communicating with Sanda(who sent Sam away on Kerberos because she thought he would get in the way of her failed "negotiations" and hoped he was kidnapped) fight with the Alteans, leaving Earth in the crossfire
• The Blade of Marmora attempt a relief effort and get one billion people off Earth before it explodes, finding Adam and establishing a planet they can live on before leaving them to their own devices
• In this AU all the Paladins are kids when Earth got destroyed (around 6 to 8) and Keith's dad dies during the evacuation helping defend the transports from Alteans but Kolivan saw that Keith's dad had a Marmoran knife(that he didn't give to Keith at 8 years old)
• Kolivan takes in Keith as a Blade agent since he has no human to provide for him but he keeps his identity as a human secret from the rest of the Blades to ensure none of them snitch since the Alteans have offered a lot for humans
• Kolivan knows the knife was Krolia's but doesn't tell her since she already jeopardized the Blade of Marmora once by leaving for Earth and without the temptation of her son she won't leave again
• Keith(as you can expect) did not have a very happy childhood growing up in an organization of trained killer assassin ninjas which resulted in more ~trauma~
• On one of his missions he is captured by Galra and put in the areans with Champion!Shiro and Keith meets another human for the first time who shows him kindness and starts to question if the Blades are right
• Keith escapes from the Arena with the Blades but convinces Ulaz to go back for Shiro and he meets up with Adam in the human colony
• On another mission Keith runs into Lance, Hunk and Pidge who are searching for a supposed superweapon in an attempt to defend themselves from Alteans and Galrans that prevent them from leaving their hiding spot at the edge of the universe
• he thinks to himself "wow these guys are annoying and weird I sure do hope I never see them again" before the Blades immediately order him to find the superweapon to keep it out of human, Altean and Galran hands because they are unreliable
• Krolia helps track down information it and Keith notices that whenever she is bored she recites star charts (kinda like his dad used to do) and the constellations look eerily familar
• Keith gets hurt, Krolia finds out his identity and takes him to the human colony so he doesn't have to stay in the abusive Blade environment anymore
• When she tries to get Keith to colony they are tracked by Alteans and Krolia manages to trick the Alteans and Keith crash lands on the surface only to see the ship leaving
• now that all the paladins are in one place they protect the colony after going on a couple of missions to find the lions while Keith tries to track down the very elusive Blade of Marmora
Theres more to it than that, BUT that's all for now!

jumping on the train of everyone redrawing that scene from TBB S3 E9, except it's set in one of my MLWTBB AUs 😋
(please click for better quality OMG 😩)
like I said, this is set in one of the MLWTBB AUs. it's very much based off of Voltron, but in this one, my SI is the antagonist instead of the protagonist 😁 I wanted to make an enemies to lovers AU so bad, and idk why I went with Voltron, it just came to me I guess LOL. the Marauder is the Voltron bot and can be piloted by up to five people; however, it doesn't split like Voltron does, it's more like a Transformer where it can go between ship mode and bot mode. TBB are the current owners of the Marauder, working for an organization that helps protect the galaxy; Cid is their boss and the one who sends them out on missions. Crosshair used to be a member of the team, but left years ago after a dispute over who should be the leader of their team. Omega is the current replacement for Crosshair and the youngest person to ever join the organization. my SI is a well-known opposer of this organization and is desperately trying to get the Marauder for herself. she has a faithful robot companion always at her side (Clank obviously), as well as a hired assassin that helps do her bidding who also hates the organization (try and guess who this might be 😏). she also works with a man named Vin, who provides her with the funding necessary to try and capture the Marauder.
I'm not gonna get into too many story details in case I actually eventually write this out, but it's safe to say this is one of my most thought-out AUs, along with the Pokemon and Mutant AUs. I've dubbed it my Voltron AU, but I'll probably just end up calling it a Mecha AU if I ever write it out 😆

WIP Game:
RULES: post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! and then tag as many people as you have WIPS. (... I do not know this many people)
Thank you @jobey-wan-kenobi for tagging me in - here's my best attempt to categorise the various inane WIP pieces I have floating about. Oh, and cause I'm a multi-fandom writer, the fandom is at the end of the title.

86: The White Elephant *The Sherlockverse* (Various)
Right... so that took way longer than expected. Originally, it all seemed fine - I have most of my things in a single, neat folder. And then I remembered I have a Microsoft Account... and a WordPad full of old fics... and several workbooks with their own things in them. I think I'm still missing one workbook, all truth be told!
@lswro2-222 @predawnrex04 and that's all the people I know who aren't @jobey-wan-kenobi
Edit 2: When I get down to like... 60 or something WIPs on here, I'm going to overhaul the list to take them off and put up the new ones. Until then, remember to ask about the WIPs you're most interested in!

I don't want to be like, the fun killer since creativity is a fantastic thing to have and shouldn't be squashed or shamed (unless it's bigoted or misinformed) but there really is a problem with taking favorite characters and completely reshaping them into something unrecognizable. This was how the Once-ler fandom came to be, and can be seen in Voltron, Tangled (specifically w/ Varien), and now Submas.
I believe it comes from a place of either discontent or lack of canon content, so people have to fill the fandom spaces with farther reaching ideas. But it's super disheartening to like these things and then seek out more, only to find basically entirely unfamiliar characters wearing their faces, in entirely new worlds. How do we interact with what we love, when it's been overshadowed by AUs of AUs? And how do we express this without gate-keeping or squashing freedom of expression?
Perhaps we should be more conscientious of tagging to separate canon-adjacent stuff vs full blown, highly different AUs. That way those of us who don't care for AUs can block them without forcing them out of the main tag? Just the same as you would tag NSFW or Gore.
Or.... I dunno. I just wanna see stuff about the funny train men.

An alternate outfit for Lance that I made! I used Lance's actual proportions as a guide/base. I made the shoulders in the back view look a little weird on accident though 🥲
I imagine some of his family members made him the bracelet and strung the beads on his shoelaces (cuz they're cool), and he just kept them since then. (They ran out of blue so they also used a red bead on one of his his shoes)
Tumblr media
I also decided to give him the fingerless gloves imagining Hunk got him some so they and Keith could match. I didn't want to over-accesorize him, or else I would've given him some earbuds or headphones made by pidge or something.
In the AU I made this for (I also have made up the AU but haven't finished it past vaguely meeting Allura and Coran), The trio (also befriending Keith who doesn't drop out) graduate from Garrison training before ever finding the blue lion. Hunk never goes to space and Pidge sneaks aboard the ship attempting the Second Kerberos Mission (because Shiro didn't make it back to earth, no one knows if the people on the original mission are alive, they're still alive tho). As the best pilot from the Garrison, Keith goes on the secondary Kerberos mission along with Matt, who due to an injury avoided the first mission and didn't subsequently go missing. Both want to investigate what happened to the first mission and where Shiro, Sam (Pidge and Matt's dad), and a currently unnamed (because I didn't decide a name yet) scientist went. Lance finds himself anxious weeks after the second Kerberos team leave for space, so he drives himself out in the desert like he and Keith had before, getting time to himself. He wanders farther than he meant to and comes across the blue lion. Lance gets in the blue lion alone. He's launched off into space and finds himself at Kerberos, watching as the lion picks Keith, Matt, and Pidge right off that moon. The group then find themselves very quickly passing galaxy after galaxy, ending up in the castle of the lions. They meet Allura and Coran, who identify them as the paladins of Voltron. Kieth as the red paladin, Matt as the green paladin, Pidge as yellow, Allura herself as blue, and Lance as black.
Reasons for who pilots who:
- Since they get out into space a lot later, I figure Lance has matured a lot and is a good candidate as the pilot to the black lion. He has good tactics, and is thoughtful of the entire team, so he's a strong leader. (He also doesn't mess around as often.)
- Pidge, while oftentimes a menace, can be kindhearted and tries to come up with solutions to people's problems (more often than not with technology, but what do you expect). I imagine she tries to solve as many problems as possible, often skipping rest or care until her assistance is not needed (and sometimes past the point of being needed, since she's stubborn).
- Matt likes to challenge issues with reason, intelligence, and a strong-will, willing to sacrifice a lot for an important cause. Plus, similar to Pidge in canon, I think he would be well-attuned to the code-like nature of life that melds well with the green lion.
- We already know Keith acts on instincts and is a good fit for the red lion.
- Allura is also a good fit for the blue lion, since it accepts her later in the canon series and generally Blue is the most lenient on who pilots. (Plus I think the lion understands there isn't really anyone else at the moment to pilot her.)
That's about as far as I got. I want to eventually make a fic, but I encourage anyone who wants to use the idea for one to use it! (Some credit would be cool if you do though!) If you have any ideas on how to improve what I have or how to continue, feel free to share it!
Tumblr media
The legs and feet of the paladin armor are hard to draw 😭 Also I didn't use a color dropper, so the colors in the drawings are eyeballed to be as close as possible.
