Tokyo Tower (End) The Script is Rewritten
*waggles eyebrows* Hinted at in the chapter Butterfly Effect, little decisions lead to huge consequences. :)
"Is the King General's legacy?" Chisei's back was against Tachibana’s.
The deadpool in front of you has not only evolved a snake tail, but even evolved a pair of membrane wings. In the legends of countless ancient civilizations, the difference between ordinary beasts and gods and demons is the power of flight.
These Deadpool have very little human to them; they are far closer to wild dragons, dancing in the air.
The legendary dragon deadpool has appeared in the world.
"Go back to the elevator!" Chisei shouts to you. But he himself suddenly burst past you, sword executing a swift arc of twisted light.
The flying beast in front of you folded its wings like a raging gargoyle and lunged at you with its blade-like claws, but hit Chisei’s longsword before it could pounce over the railing and cut you open.
The sword made a rhythmic whoosh-whoosh sound, brightly spinning out of Chisei’s hand and through the air like a helicopter's rotors, before stopping suddenly, firmly grasped in your hand. You draw your claw dagger. “Those words give me Deja vu. You were saying?”
Having lost Onimaru to you, Chisei draws his remaining sword Dojigiri as a deadpool pounced from the top of the tower. Just as it neared reaching him, it cracked in half. Dojigiri had split its body in two and with the sharpness of that sword, the wound took a few seconds to show.
Another Deadpool swooped up from below the observation deck and swung its tail at you. You might not be an expert swordsman but you swing the blade automatically in the manner of a slashing dagger, only this dagger was much longer. The blade cut so easily through the deadpool, like a carving knife cutting a fresh ham, severing through the skin and muscle fibers smoothly, the bones cracking in pathetic resistance. You’d never felt anything cut through dragon tissue like that. Your eyes sharpen and widen with the thrill of killing! You swing again and the head goes flying off!
“Leave these to me! You go back to the elevator!” You call, your voice filled with a mocking sort of laughter. Your hair is flying in the rain as you run off to confront your next victim who slashes at you and collides with the sword blade. You roll and parry and sidestep, dancing with each opponent until you find an opening and then you go in with Onimaru, stabbing through and cutting out, leaving grievous wounds with it. The long sword forced a bit more distance from your opponents than you were used to, so your claw dagger served more as a parry weapon, than your main killing blow, punishing those who dared reach inside the hitbox of Onimaru to get at you with a lost finger or a cut wrist.
You dance back into the observation room to join the others. Sakura and Bondarev were gathering what little weapons were strewn across the floor.
“The elevator isn’t on the floor any more!” Bondarev shouts. “I do not know who is summoning the elevator below but they took our weapons!”
You turned toward the voice briefly, but had to turn back to fend off another attacker. Every instinct told you that was BS. There was no one else here unless Caesar and Zihang were coming up too. Bondarev was a military man and a strategist, not some old coot in a sweater waiting to retire. You still remember him on skis, his sleeveless shirt showing immaculate physique while he stood in minus 3 degree weather with a wind chill of minus thirty-three. LIke some Siberian Heracles. And now he had taken dragon blood to bolster his aging strength, not to mention give himself a significant healing factor.
He was delaying for some reason. Was he still trying to kill you? It would be wise to assume so. You’re not getting on the elevator. You got a very bad feeling that Bondarev was not going to let you leave this tower alive.
Chisei Gen also retreated into the room and swung his long sword clean, throwing away the black blood on it. The three of them regrouped, Sakura holding a sword with both hands, Bondarev holding the blunt end of a two-meter-long European lance, the tip of which resembles a crescent moon.
"Come on!” Chisei beckons to you. “Crow and Yasha, they will think of something."
You see the shock and dismay in his eyes when you back away and shake your head.
He tries again. “MC! We need to put aside our differences right now!”
“Some things cannot be put aside I’m afraid.” Bondarev sighs sadly. “I killed her best friend in Black Swan Bay. She was young. Barely a woman. I have no right to ask her to fight by my side.”
You sneer at his performance. Then you rudely and sharply cut through his bluster with facts. “If I get on that elevator, he’s going to kill me. The same way he killed her. He won’t kill you. At least… not directly. He’ll manipulate you into dying, giving up your life by choice. That’s how it works… right Bondarev?” You look at him directly. “How can a master spy like you not know your precious asset would be here to save you?”
A very dark shadow obscures your face and when you look up, the sky above the glass ceiling is seething with deadpool. The deadpool let out a shrill whistle and swoop down as if the black mountain of clouds hanging overhead had collapsed. They smash that glass ceiling all at once and come flying in, their jagged bone wings snapping violently open.
You roll and flee the group waiting for the elevator, putting as many deadpool as you can between yourself and Bondarev. Z’s words to you ring in your ears. He said, ‘your ride will be here shortly’, right before Fingel came crashing out of the sky. He wasn’t referring to leaving with Fingel, he meant your alternate way out that was waiting for you, waiting for this moment. The rope that dangled from the Tokyo Tower saved Fingel from death. And it would save you too.
In the distance came the sound of a bell tolling twelve o'clock at midnight. The sound of the bells are unusually cold to the ears, and Tokyo seemed to be transformed into a ghostly medieval city in this rainstorm, with the bronze bells on the churches roaring and the devils laughing wildly in the shadows.
The deadpool creatures no longer have hands. Judging by the puckered scars at the joints, they appear removed by some kind of surgery, replaced with curved metal serrated scimitars granting them a long reach but no grappling ability except for their prehensile tails. So long as you target their wings, they wouldn’t be able to climb back up the tower very easily. That fearlessness that moved Chime Gen to praise you in front of your peers takes hold of you again.
The beasts chase you like seagulls, creeling, getting in each other's way and bunching up. You slide like a baseball player under a canopy of razor sharp blades and jump up behind one, slamming Onimaru into its back and dangling from the hilt to cut the wings off the other beasts. You brace yourself on it, like riding a rodeo show horse. The monster beneath your feet heaved and rolled, howling in pain but was more occupied with defending itself from being overwhelmed by its own brethren than attacking you.
You were eye to eye with them in mid air, using the deadpool dagger to cut into their wings, tearing the membranes. You stab into the space between the joints and the biomechanical working of the muscles is so strong, it nearly wrenches your dagger from your hands. The deadpool creatures with damaged wings start to fall from the sky, unable to keep up their flight but they still have the strength to glide back onto the platform.
You twist the sword and leap back onto the platform to regroup. One beast rears up to battle but then its head snaps back to the sound of a distant rifle. You dash in to slit its throat. You grin! Somewhere on the roof of a far building, Mingfei was still there with his sniper rifle! You calculate in your head. You know he was shooting before. You make a conservative estimate for his ammunition and assume he still has your rifle and ammunition as a back up.
This was good news because reinforcements were arriving on the Deadpool side. More of them are climbing up over the railing, their scales shimmering. In addition to the dragon-like Deadpool, there are more of those snake-like Deadpool from Genji Heavy Industries, and they are all converging on the observation deck.
The demon hordes of Herzog and Bondarev had amassed against you.
A buffeting downdraft came from above. Huge black shadows descended from the sky. The support from Crow and Yasha in the form of helicopters finally arrived. The elite of the Executive Board of Japan stood on the landing gear and fired. Intense firepower pinned down the group of Deadpool.  The helicopter’s heavy rapid-fire machine gun poured out a rain of bullets without a care in the world -- or a care for you for that matter! You’re forced to take cover from their reckless rain of bullets that could easily kill you as much as they beat back the Deadpool!
You snarl in your heart, cursing Bondarev again. The helicopter slowly approached the observation deck. The Executive Board's plan was apparently to open the way with a barrage of bullets, allowing their three leaders to jump directly onto the aircraft.
"Follow me!" Through the broken windows and heaving mass of bodies, you see Chisei bend down and pick up one sword after another. These blades began to spin in midair. He could wield them without touching them! He used these blades to open the way. Deadpool could not approach him when the royal blood was burning.
The Hydra members were inspired by the leader's godlike bravery, and the Gatling machine guns roared even louder as the barrage of bullets drove Deadpool and you to the sides, leaving the way for Gen Chisei and the others, but pushing you farther away from your rope! You wished you had a ballistic weapon in your hand right now so you can shoot Bondarev! He seemed to realize that, like the King, you were betting on an alternative and was forcibly moving you away from your desired position.
Chisei didn’t seem concerned for you any longer. Who knew what that snake whispered in his ear to wipe away your warning words. The helicopter lowered the ladder and approached the observation deck, and the men stopped firing to wave desperately for Chisei to jump up quickly.
A new black shadow shot out of the observation area like an arrow, having taken a mighty leap, and bit the hanging ladder. The men on the landing gear were stunned. They didn't even think that these ferocious beasts had such intelligence. They seemed to be completely suppressed by the rain of bullets, but in fact they were waiting for their chance to attack!
For a bloody meal, these things are happy to trade their lives. A second black shadow swooped out of the tower and latched onto the first one’s tail. The men’s eyes are wide with terror as they shoot at the deadpool who had bitten the hanging ladder. But the battered Deadpool didn't let go. Its mutilated face seemed to be wearing a maniacal grin as more and more of them bit its tail, hooking their bodies upward with their metal blade appendages. One black shadow after another swarms into the cockpit, the men’s guns still roaring, but to no avail. They could not expel those who had come to feed. The helicopter had become their coffin.
Chisei watched in silence as the helicopter moved away from the observation deck, like a wounded eagle going to find a place to heal, but it didn't get very far before it lost its balance and plummeted toward the square.
The helicopter landed in flames.
With no helicopter and the elevator taking its sweet time getting here, Chisei took quick stock in the situation. Bondarev was still limping next to his guardian Chisei, sticking close to him. If anything happened to Chisei, you’re not sure how you would face Chime ever again. But so long as that viper was next to him, your survival couldn’t be guaranteed. So you keep your mouth shut about the rope and keep your distance.
You’d have to find a way to separate those two, not only physically but mentally, but time was ticking. There were too many enemies, not enough weapons. From this high in the air, you couldn’t use your Soul Skill. It was too wet inside and out to use fire. So long as those deadpool were swimming all over this place, there was no way you’d be able to use the rope and escape scot free. You had to beat these things to escape!
You hear a sudden low, melodic snarling.
Chisei recited the long lost language and his Soul Skill, Majesty, was released, expanding slowly, the borders glowing with a faint luminescence. He walked to the center of the special observation deck where his ability could just about cover the whole area. This was Chisei’s coup de grace. While it was overwhelming, he would be as weak as a baby later. But this would be your last chance!
You rush toward the staggering deadpool, a whirling dervish with twin blades. Black blood splashed in fountains and ran like waterfalls off the observation deck. This was no time for finesse or art killing. You fell on them like a mad beast while they could not move. How long did Majesty endure the last time you saw it? Around 30 seconds to a minute? This would be a greater fitness test than anything you had experienced in Black Swan Bay. You had to kill, de-wing or disable dozens of deadpool in 30 seconds.
It was an incomparably bizarre scene. The deadpool were prostrate on the ground, unable to even lift their heads, inert pieces of meat for you to slaughter. The floor tiles cracked and they sank inch by inch into the concrete floor platform.
What world would Renata think of you now? Or even the loving father version of Dr. Herzog that you used to believe existed? You imagined them watching the clock, cheering you on. Vera applauding and whooping, saying you can do it. In your head, these fantasies seem to be extending the time longer than thirty seconds, but you try not to think about it. Every second lost would never return. You had to take every one and kill two or even three deadpool per second and not think about the clock.
Then it was over. A deadpool hissed at you and swiped out one claw. You leap back and sever it at the same time. You look towards Chisei and Chisei looks back at you. He opens his mouth to speak but vomits red. You look around as the deadpool raise their upper bodies even as their lower heavier bodies are still stuck. They’re so insanely ravenous that they pull hard, and in their attempt to drag themselves, pull their own bodies apart! Their naked vertebrae, stripped of flesh, dripping black, gives the scene the new appearance of a zombie apocalypse as they crawl forward, cutting you off from the elevator. But they’re still weak. You can still kill them.
You shake your head at Chisei as he gazes at you from across the gap. It shocked you. He should be concerned about Bondarev. That man had his invisible shackles around his mind, but he hesitated. He wanted to save you. But you knew that the minute you were ‘saved’, you would be in the clutches of Hydra and that was the end.
You would take your chances with the deadpool horde.
Chisei finally turned back, staggering and near collapse. The deadpool slithered after him, slowed, but still active.  He was still making an effort to support what you felt was a malingering Bondarev when suddenly Bondarev fell to the floor, pulling Chisei to the ground.
Majesty released further and the beasts were starting to attack closer to full speed! You’re dodging and slashing and Mingfei was still firing to give you back up support, but if Chisei didn’t leave now, he would die. Time was truly up!
You gasp, momentarily torn. If you left the edge of the tower now to go help Chisei get to the elevator, you’d be completely committed to that route with Bondarev. But if you lost Chisei…
Chime’s cry echoed in your mind. Brother!
You chew your lip hard and turn to go back to the Observation deck to help! But as you do you see that someone else is carrying Chisei!
Sakura Yabuki had leaped up and grabbed Chisei’s arms and carried him on her back. She didn’t look that strong but she was. Apparently, she’d tired of his delay and was hauling him like a sack of potatoes to get out.
Now you just needed to secure your own escape. The half bodied deadpool were no match for your twinblades and you laughed at cutting them down like mere chickens. You felt free to expend the last of your energy doing this. Your escape was now guaranteed. You’d run the gauntlet and once again come out the winner!
Surrounded by corpses, you look around. There were no more deadpool coming. You straighten in confusion. Was it something you said?
As one swarm, the deadpool abandoned you to chase something else and your heart twisted in despair and tears sparked from your eyes. You screech in desperate fury! “No! Chisei, you idiot, you didn’t! You didn’t sacrifice yourself for that MAN!”
You scream at the flying figure above you. The person, however, was not Chisei. It was Sakura! Using a ballistic grapple hook like Batman, she was soaring over the top to the observation deck through the broken windows!
You stomped your foot in a fury! That Bondarev siren song of suicide! What was she thinking? Did Sakura not think you might have a way out? Did she figure that you were giving Chisei a way out by killing yourself? You weren’t like everyone else in the Japan Branch! You didn’t give your life away like them!
Sakura didn’t deserve to be used as food for Bondarev!
Sakura was climbing to the top of the central spire of the Tokyo tower, the huge radio tower on top of the observation deck, while being pursued by every deadpool in the tower. Just like in the elevator shaft, they ignored you completely, sweeping by and slithering and trailing drool. Once they got to the base of the spire they started to kill each other to be the first to climb up while suppressive fire rained down from Sakura’s last remaining gun.
Lu Mingfei shifted his focus from you to the tower in support of Sakura. You follow her trajectory closely the way she climbed, the way she was lining herself up with you on the top of the tower. She was lining herself up close to you.
You feel a slight shiver and your eyes widen. She really did believe in you. She believed you had an alternate way out!
She’s now standing up at the top of the radio tower and bows deeply in thanks to Mingfei for his support.
She was going to jump and that whole horde was going to follow her down into the void. Your heart is beating. A spotlight was on you. You had only one chance at this. You slip Onimaru into your belt. You climb the safety railing as she takes her leap of faith, a wave of black scaly bodies falling in a beautiful, horrible arc.
You throw yourself off too.
At the critical moment, your bodies align and your eyes meet. You sweep up with your claw dagger. The hooked claw rends the bloody fabric that the deadpool found so irresistible. Then you wrap that arm around her slender waist  and reach out for the rope you knew was there, the rope that had saved Fingel not too long ago from the same fate.
The sudden stop pulls your shoulder out of its socket and your arm nearly releases but by then, Sakura has recovered her senses and grabs hold of you before you can fall, clinging to the rope herself.
The tattered wet and bloody clothing continues the rapid descent Sakura should have taken had you not been there. Had you not climbed the steps. Had you not loved Ruri Kazama enough to obey his words and not Caesar’s.
The deadpool continued their fall after the clothing and you could hear the disgusting continuous splatter of their bodies slamming into the concrete and bursting apart in an ebony fountain.
Sakura Yabuki supports you and helps you cling to the rope. She’s completely topless and her body is warm against yours in the cold rain.
“I have to ask you, because I don’t understand. Why save me? Chisei killed the man you loved. It would have been easy to let me fall. Let me die. To let Chisei feel the pain you felt that night. Some would even call it justice.” She gasped out the words.
You’re both shivering and out of breath.
You stare at her with frigid eyes. “I don’t know what justice is, first of all.” You snap, angry and desperate, your emotions swirling in a hurricane in your mind. “And second of all, I didn’t save you because of Chisei.” Your eyes sparkle in the dark with unshed tears. “Third of all, I’m sure he is feeling what I felt that night, because he thinks you’re dead right now. But unlike Chance, you will come back!”
Sakura Yabuki sobered. She didn’t know you, but you had the feeling she was listening closely and understanding.
So you continue, each sentence a shouted exclamation above the rain’s metallic rhythm on the tower struts. “I didn’t come here with morals or life lessons that teach me mercy. I’m no better than he is.  I was raised by Dr. Herzog for God’s sake! Chisei Gen was raised by that child-murderer Bondarev! We both kill first and ask questions later. Our father figures just tried to rip each other’s throats out! It shouldn’t surprise anyone that we’re going to hurt each other, so don’t think I care for him! The only true difference between us, in truth?” You pause, your eyes wide.  “I just hang out with better people! Caesar, Chu Zihang, Lu Mingfei, and Ruri Kazama. They’re my world. I will do things that will please them. So I look better. But I’m not better!”
Your voice lowers to a dull snarl in her ears. “I could have just walked away, easily! I could be eating a warm bowl of ramen noodles, right now!” Your snarl turned to a soft bitter laughter. “But Chime… Chime would never have forgiven me if something happened to his brother because I did that. I could have let you fall. But Chance is gone. I might have another chance… at love. That is.” You again crack a brief joke. “But Chime wouldn’t want me to hurt his brother by letting you die.”
Your laughter takes hold of you, but it’s painful. It was just a way to stop from crying. “I’m only here because of my boyfriend. You heard that right. It’s so stupid.” You shove Onimaru back into her hands. “Here, take his dumb sword back. I don’t want it.”
Sakura looked down at you and a small smile graced her features. “Fair. Still, I must thank you. Farewell. Until we meet again.” Sakura Yabuki slid down the rope, speeding down the rest of the way down from Tokyo Tower. You see her land and she’s gone in the blink of an eye.

I see plenty of posts about Blue Lions eagerly waiting for the Dimileth shoe to drop. But I raise you this: Friendly Neighborhood Shipper Gatekeeper.
That’s right, our friend the Friendly Gatekeeper is the ultimate Dimileth shipper.
Gatekeeper learned early on how to read Byleth’s stoic face, and has been able to tell even the tiniest details in their mood, I’m talking “Oh no! Professor’s eyebrows are .02% lower than before! The Professor must be super upset about something!”
Gatekeeper is a Byleth savant! He speaks Byleth and is the a professional Byleth translator. He got his degree in five minutes because that’s all it took after meeting Byleth for him to decide that they’re obviously #BFFs5Ever
So OF COURSE he’s going to notice if the Professor is slowly catching feelings for anyone. He probably realizes even before Byleth and he doesn’t have even half the context. But, *gasp*, it’s forbidden. A teacher and their student? Oh noooooo, it was never meant to BE!
Note he probably doesn’t even know WHO Byleth has feelings for because he never leaves that dumb gate. He just knows that his bestest friend is going through FORBIDDEN LOVE! (He refuses to believe they’re in love with someone in faculty because he would have heard rumors by now).
This is cause for drastic action!
Gatekeeper takes a day off.
Yes! A day off from guarding the gate!
This is a matter of life and death! His best friend needs him Goddess damn it all! He needs to do reconnaissance! For the professor! He needs to find the fiend that stole their heart and find a flaw in them so Byleth can move on!
Note that Byleth doesn’t even realize they’re catching feelings yet.
So Gatekeeper spends the whole day spying, looking for the despicable scum that wooed their best friend with their willy willy seductive ways. He’s stalking the professor the whole day and being totally obvious about it. Sorry Gatekeeper, everyone knows you’re hiding behind that bush. Byleth is just a good friend and not letting anyone call you out.
The Blue Lions all think the Gatekeeper is stalking Byleth. Felix offers to duel him. Ingrid just advises that Byleth report him to Seteth. Byleth, knowing that’s their bro, just tells the students it’s no concern and goes to see what the heck is going on. To which Gatekeeper, caught, does the only thing a man in his position can do and bursts out the whole truth through his tears. Bawling about how he knows about this seductive seducer that been trying to claim their heart with their fiendish ways, and how he was worried, and he wanted to make sure nothing happened to the professor because it’s his duty as their BFF to make sure that their heart remains unbroken.
The Blue Lions are...flabbergasted to say the least.
Then it’s full on panic mode because WHAT? What seductive seducer? Who is trying to steal Byleth’s heart?
And Gatekeeper is all like, “That’s what I was trying to find out!”
And now Gatekeeper has a class of baby lions basically spun into a panic thinking that there’s another Sylvain going around trying to seduce Byleth, only they’re a fiend out to purposely break their heart or something.
They’re pretty livid about the idea.
Gatekeeper is escorted out of the class by a mildly confused Byleth who promises to spend the day “mending their broken heart” with the Gatekeeper, leaving behind a very confused class, a Sylvain who wants to snoop because “what the fuck”, and a mildly jealous Dimitri. The incident isn’t forgotten, per se, but it’s brushed off.
Cut to five years later.
By now Gatekeeper is much more protective of their friend, what with them having gone missing for five years. But he’s still able to read them like a book, and it’s only gotten easier with time and their growing emotions.
So it’s pretty easy to tell they’re head over heels.
He just doesn’t know with who.
But his friend is SAD.
SAD!
Who would dare make them SAD!!!!!!?!?!
It’s sin!
Be can’t take a day off to stop guarding like he used to, but he dang well keeps an eye open! He’s got them peeled, he’s watching everyone, he’s going to catch this fiendish fiend!
But whoever it is never shows up at the front gate with the professor. He just can’t seem to find them in the same room with them any other time either. And the professor is getting sadder and sadder, and even everything going well and having nothing to report is making them happy.
So Gatekeeper does the only thing he can.
He takes it upon himself to find someone else for the professor!
Now, love doesn’t just go away. It’s going to take some time to mend a broken heart, plant some seeds of romance, but he’s going to do it! In the name of friendship!
So he goes to the one person he thinks is as much Byleth’s friend as he is.
The Prince!
The professor spends a lot of time with him! And they’re always talking about them, and...and...
Oh.
Wow.
Gatekeeper is floored. Now it all makes sense! So much sense! The prince had been grumpy for months before that whole thing where he got better! Professor was always mentioning him! And..and..
Interrogation time!
So Gatekeeper, not a strong or powerful man, but filled with enough determination to fuel a Smash Competition, marches up to the Prince of Faerghus and just stares at him.
Poor Dimitri is so confused. He’s wondering what he did to piss off this guy, and if he accidentally killed his brother or something. He’s already moving to apologize, but Gatekeeper is already on him. Demanding to know his favorite foods, and color, and what does he finds romantic, and how he feels about dogs.
Dimitri is so fucking tired.
He’s so confused, but he just rolls with it because he’s newly on the atonement train and doesn’t wanna be an asshole, and figures this is just someone’s weird way of making sure he wasn’t going to kill everyone in the room and then himself.
Wanting to know his ideal date is strange though.
The convo actually takes a surprisingly heartwarming turn soon after though, when both men end up talking about Byleth and how much they mean to the both of them. Gatekeeper goes on about how Byleth is his best friend, and makes days guarding the gate seem like the most important job in the world, and Dimitri goes on about how without Byleth he’d still be lost. And suddenly they’re bonding over small things too, like chamomile tea, and lances, and fond memories they have of Garreg Mach. And, suddenly, Dimitri and Gatekeeper both have a new friend.
And Gatekeeper, after so long of Byleth friendship, has learned to notice when people are #Feeling and not noticing, and it’s pretty easy by the way Dimitri smiles when he says the professor’s name, and how he looks when he talks about them, and that tiny tiny smile that he’s pretty head over heels himself.
Gatekeeper quickly goes from over protective friend to rabid shipping fangirl watching their OTP on the fast track to becoming canon. He might squeal a bit when he gets back to his bunk that night. Every second of his life the next day is consumed by the mighty need to watch these two get married yesterday please.
His poor shipping heart can’t take it.
His eyes are on them whenever they walk by. He has to physically refrain from dying and mentioning how much they should kiss. He’s dying. Someone help this man.
He cries when they announce their engagement.
He gets to guard the wedding.

Once Bitten, Twice Stupid prt.3
Balmeria Roadhouse was as it always was at stupid o’clock in the morning. Two road trains parked up in the back parking space. Another sitting at the diesel pumps, the driver sitting inside the roadhouse taking a much needed break. Pulling up at the bowser, Lance heard the click of the pump release, the roadhouse on the older side where a pin needed to be entered instore before you could use the bowser. Shay was definitely on, her brother Rax also worked there, but he’d seemed to take a real dislike to their group, making one of them go in and ask to use the pumps instead of being a normal civil person. Yeah, he fell into the people that thoroughly annoyed Lance, but Shay... Shay lit up the room. Her smile was bright, hair always dyed shades of blue, huge silver hoop earrings that surely had to hurt her ears, then topped off with an ensemble that threw back to the golden years of “emo”. When she joked about it, a little bit of him died on the inside. It was hard being 44 when his friends were young enough to be his kids.
Pidge climbed out after Hunk, as Lance started fuelling up. The rain was coming again, he could smell it on the air. Maybe making a run for snacks hadn’t been the brightest idea mid-storm, but you never knew what would happen. He didn’t want to pressure Hunk, not after the tour from hell, but seeing Shay might just be thing his friend needed to perk him back up. Leaning back against his car, he closed his eyes and let himself just be. He loved this life. Out of all his “lives” as Lance, this was the most peace he’d ever found... as a near on hermit.
Hearing the slow roll of tires over wet gravel, Lance paid it no mind. The pump handle clicking to indicate the tank was full. Shaking the last few drops out the nozzle, he set the handle back in the cradle with a sigh. It should be illegal that filling a tank cost $90. He could still remember when it was $1 a litre. Back in the good old days and all that. Heck, when he’d been 20 it’d only been 65cents a litre. His precious girl was killing his bank account... but he’d never say that out loud, at least not with Pidge in earshot. And not with his Mami in earshot either. She mistakingly thought he kept his girl around out of some sense of misplaced guilt over his condition, not because no other car made him feel quite the way driving his bronco did. Giving Shay a wave on the security camera, Lance double checked his wallet in his back pocket before shoving his hands in his jacket, then making himself jog over to the roadhouse door as if he was scared of getting wet. As he jogged he noticed that the people who’d pulled up were one of those “people” who park way too close to the front door with the bonnet hanging over the edge, making the walk way smaller than it was supposed to be. From the look of it there were two of them in the black sedan, their car practically screaming for attention. Good luck with that, Lance was more interested in the road train by the diesel than two rich kids taking their car for a joy ride.
Letting himself into the warmth of the road house, Lance headed straight for the drinks at back. Grabbing two bottles of coke, he also snagged a bottle of orange juice for the morning. Carrying the drinks up to Shay, Hunk was spluttering over Shay’s flirting. Neither of them were aggressive enough to make that first move, Shay’s bubbly personality came from being in customer service, the “real” Shay was a shy blushing mess especially in the presence of Hunk
“Hiya, Lance. How’s it going?”
“Any day my glasses decide not to fog up is a win. How’s the night been?”
“Slooow. Seriously slow. Must be the weather, all the smart people are staying home”
Lance laughed as he nodded
“Yeah, it’s the night for it, alright. Hey, we were thinking of having dinner at mine on Saturday night, can you swing it?”
Shay shook her head, her gaze flicking to Hunk, then back to him
“I’m working both nights this weekend”
“It doesn’t have to be Saturday. Friday works too. Or Monday. Actually, any night works. One of the perks that comes with working from home”
“I can do Friday... are you sure you don’t mind?”
Now Shay was sounding like Hunk. They’d be the sweetest couple
“I wouldn’t have asked if I wasn’t. It won’t be anything too fancy, maybe dinner than vegging out in front of the TV. I mean, please don’t feel pressured at all to come, I won’t be offended. I was just thinking how nice it’d be to actually hang out outside of this place”
Shay nodded quickly
“That sounds fun. I’ll finally be able to meet Blue”
With her blue hair, Shay had thought Lance was talking about her whenever he mentioned “Blue” to Pidge and, or, Hunk. His cooing over his precious princess making her uncomfortable. Shay remained in the dark until Pidge started teasing him mercilessly over Lance buying his baby girl a bigger and better cat tree to celebrate her first birthday
“She’s a bit of a snob, just so you know. Oh, you totally don’t have to bring anything, but I know what parents are like, so if you drink bring a bottle of that and we’ll pretend it’s for me”
Shay laughed. Lance felt as if the gift giving had slowly slipped from society, a bit like dinner parties
“Sometimes you sound like my dad”
Pidge slammed her palms down on the counter, excited to have someone agree
“I know, right?! You should have heard him earlier, I could have died of shame when he was talking about being “totally radical!”
“Much retro, so lame”
Huffing are the pair, Lance grabbed a pack of gum to toss in with everything else
“Remind me why I associate with all of you?”
“For the laughs. Oh, we better move, they’re coming in”
Spying on the two guys from the flashy car, the group moved aside as the door chimed. Shay swapping tills so she wouldn’t have to start ringing up his purchases from scratch
“You guys got everything you want?”
Pidge nodded happily
“Shay’s rung up my two slushies. I decided I needed one of each instead of two raspberry”
“I really should have only let you get one. You’ll be awake all night from all that sugar”
“Jeez, thanks, dad...”
Pidge made the telephone gesture with her hand, raising it to her ear. She played along with her fake fall, humming and nodding a few times before holding her hand out towards him
“The 1970’s called, they want their idiot back”
Swatting at Pidge’s hand, Lance felt a bump against his back. No apology was forth coming as Shay served the two strangers, the taller answering Shay’s polite attempts at small talk. At least one of them wasn’t a total douche.
When the pair left, the group moved back over. Shay finishing off scanning the last few items
“That’s $143.95 all up. Pidge said you were having a movie marathon when you got home?”
Fishing his wallet out, Lance pulled out his credit card, handing over as he shook his head
“She might be, but I’d hardly call it a movie marathon when she’s watching over what she taped tonight. Hunk and I are about ready to call it night”
“That sounds like a good plan. The weather’s supposed to turn bad again”
Entering his pin, Lance waited for “approved” to show on the reader, before taking his card back and sliding it away
“I heard that too. That’s why I’ve got to get these two home. If you write your number on the receipt, I’ll add you and chuck a text to confirm. You know where my house is, don’t you?”
Shay giggled, printing off the receipt like Lance has suggested
“Seeing it’s the only house on the road, I don’t think I can go wrong”
When the door chimed again, Lance turned out of habit. He hadn’t seen the diesel drier leave yet, so had thought maybe the man was waiting for someone. Walking back in, the taller of two strangers was scratching the back of his head. Greeeeat. The guy wanted a favour. He could tell by the way he was forcing himself to appear casual
“Hey, me again. My brother and I just tried our car but it doesn’t seem to be turning over. You don’t happen to know anyone around here that can help us out?”
That was what google was for. A quick google search would tell the man the towing service was shut for the night, unless he wanted to call someone in Platt.
Shay took the question in her stride, being a roadhouse she’d probably dealt with this kind of thing before
“That depends. If you need to reach Platt tonight, then you’ll want to call a Platt number for a tow. If you can wait until tomorrow, my friend Hunk here is the son of the town’s mechanic”
“We were actually hoping to stay a few days in town, you know, check out the old museum and that. My little brother’s really into photography. We’ve got a hotel room back in Platt, so I guess I need the number for that towing service”
The stranger scratched the back of his head again. Lance knew he was staring, but it was kind of hard not to when the man had a massive scar across the bridge of his nose
“I’ll give them a call, but they might not want to come out with the storm rolling in”
“Yeah, my brother was taking photos of the sky tonight, that’s how we ended up here in the middle of the night. I’d really appreciate it if you could”
“No worries, you’d be surprised how often it happens. Do you and your brother want to sit inside and wait?”
“No, thanks for the offer, but he’s not exactly a people person. I’m Shiro, by the way”
“I’m Shay. Welcome to Garrison”
“Thanks. I’ll just browse while you make that call. Thanks for this and for calling”
“It’s fine. They love me there because I send them so much business. Go ahead and take a look around”
There was no way that Lance was leaving Shay with a creeper. Hot or not, he didn’t know the man. An ordinary person wouldn’t be running around with a scar like that, his mind unhelpfully pointing out it could have been the result of a car crash or some kind of accident where he’d smacked his face hard against a pile or a corner. Whatever it’d been, Shiro had done a really good job of it. He carried himself with an air that Lance couldn’t quite put his finger on. Like he was hiding something, but exposing himself all at the same time. Shaking himself out of those thoughts, he settled on the fact that though he’d never see the man again after this, he’d be unfortunately stuck remembering him and always wondering about that damn scar.
Shay was brisk on the phone, she laughed at lot, Hunk practically melting in pining over the sound. Two quick phone calls later, Shay hung up her phone, swapping back to her customer service face
“Shiro, I’ve got some good news and some bad news”
Replacing the magazine he’d been flicking through, the handsome stranger wandered his way back to the counter. Shiro laughed nervously, something making Lance’s skin prickle
“I’m not sure I like the idea of bad news”
“Well, there’s been an accident in Platt, the storm knocked a set of lights, so they won’t be able to send someone until tomorrow. The good news is that Hunk’s dad runs the local autoshop, he can take a look first thing tomorrow morning. The bad news is you’re either stuck waiting the next 12 hours in here or we can try getting you a room in town... you could probably call a cab out from Platt, but that’s going to cost about as much as getting a room”
Shiro sighed. Lance didn’t blame him. Being stuck sucked arse
“Don’t worry, man. My dad will sort you out tomorrow”
Hunk tried to comfort the stranger, Shiro looking at him properly for the first time
“Uh, thanks for that. I’m Shiro...”
Pidge stepped forward
“I’m Pidge, that’s Hunk and this loser is Lance. We can give you a ride back in town if you need”
Lance stepped on Pidge’s foot. He wasn’t a damn taxi service, for all he knew this guy and his “brother” could be serial killers
“Really? That would be fantastic. You three are locals right, you wouldn’t happen to know of any good places to stay?”
“Sure do. We know everything about Garrison. Hey, why don’t you crash at Lance’s tonight, then he can give you a lift in tomorrow when he drops us off?”
Lance ground his foot down. He didn’t want two strangers in his house. It was his house. Access was limited to people he actually knew and liked... a grand total of five including Shay
“What? They’re stuck. It’s the nice thing to do”
Damn Pidge and her “niceness”. Shiro scratched the back of his head again
“I don’t want to put you out...”
“Nonsense. He’s got enough rooms. And it’s only for the night. What kind of people would we be if we left you stuck?”
“At least let me pay...”
“Already taken care of. The only thing is you’ll have to ride in the back of the rust bucket out there. This one refuses to get a new car”
Lance huffed
“There’s nothing wrong with my car. She’s got four wheels and starts”
“When she wants to. Go let your brother know what’s going on, while we finish up here”
“I will. Thank you so much for this. You three really saved our butts tonight. So, the bronco, right?”
“Yep, that’s the one”
“I guess we’ll get settled then... Are you sure it’s no trouble?”
“It’s fine, go on, we’ll be out shortly”
When Shiro left, Lance rounded Pidge. Tempted to keep his foot on hers, but scared he’d apply too much pressure and accidentally hurt her
“What the fuck was that?”
Pidge fluttered her eyelashes
“What was what?”
“Volunteering my house? We don’t know them”
“Exactly! I saw you staring”
“Because he’s got a big arse scar across his nose...”
“And now we can find out why”
Lance rolled his eyes, trying to keep his panic internal
“And what if they’re both serial killers?”
“You’re just being stupid. It’s a guy and his brother. Oh! Maybe they’re into ghosts, everyone who comes here’s into ghosts”
Hunk groaned
“Pidge... Lance is right. We don’t know them”
“Too bad. It’s only for tonight. Consider it our good deed for the year”
Shay giggled
“I thought that was that tour of yours”
Pidge jumped up and down on the spot excitedly, grabbing Lance by the arm and shaking him
“Oh my god, that means two good deeds in one day! Karma, here we come!”
Karma could fuck off. If there was any kind of karma in the world, he wouldn’t be what he was now. He wanted his cat, his bed, and not to have two strangers in his goddamn house. Packing their shopping neatly into a bag, Shay placed two slushy cups down on the counter with a clatter as the lids slipped off
“Whoopsies. Anyway, I won’t keep you guys any longer. Lance, you’ll text me right?”
“Sure thing, Shay. Pidge, get your damn slushies so we can go”
“Do you think they want slushies? We should get them slushies. That’s the nice thing to do right?”
“If they wanted slushies, they would have got their own”
Blowing a raspberry at him, Lance knew that Shiro and his brother were getting slushies whether they liked it or not
“Shay, two more cups please!”
God, Lance was done. Grabbing the bag off the counter, he shot Shay a tired smile
“Wish me luck”
“Better you than me. Have fun”
Like that was going to happen. With a wave, Lance wandered towards the door. Behind him Hunk had been nominated to help Pidge with her slushies. What kind of idiot just opened their home up to strangers? His Mami would be so disappointed... Actually, she’d tell him it was the right thing to do, which only made him feel worse.

Distance 2/2
Lance currently lay in his bed his brows furrowed as thousand thoughts swarmed in his mind, the Garrison was going to announce the result of the pilot exam on Monday and the mere thought of it gave him the goose bumps, he shook his head, trying to push those thoughts at the back of his mind and instead eyed the clock wondering when will Katie will come back. Although it was Saturday, she had been called in for an emergency at work and she had yet to come back home. To keep his anxious mind busy, Lance had spent the whole day doing small chores but now there was nothing left to do. He hoped that Katie would come home soon and hopefully they could play video games together.
If she actually gets the time that is, he wouldn’t be surprised if Eric had already something planned beforehand. Lance grumpily sighed, he felt guilty for getting jealous of her boyfriend like that after all she had every right to prioritize Eric over him but still…
The memory of Katie holding onto his hand was still fresh in his mind, just thinking about it made a chill run down his spine and he knew for sure that Katie had felt something too but at the same time she had made it clear in her own way that she didn’t want to or wasn’t ready to have this conversation.
His trail of thoughts were interrupted by a loud bang on his door, ”Hey Lance, Can I come in?” Katie called out from the other side. Lance gave himself a moment to recover his breath, Katie made her entrances like a serial killer.
“Yeah!” he called back and true to his earlier statement the door was kicked open almost out of hinges by a frantic looking Katie but instead of holding a knife or a chainsaw she had held up two dresses in each hand.
“I just got back from work and I need to attend a formal party soon. So help me decide. Black or Green?” she questioned holding them up better for Lance to see. His eyes flitted from the black one to the emerald green one. He always considered green to be more of her color so he immediately replied, “The Green one”
Katie inspected the two dresses again and then nodded in agreement, “Yeah I don’t think I am in a mood for a backless dress. It’s gonna be freezing there. I’ll wear the green one and tie my hair in a high ponytail and call it a day” she grumbled exhaustively.
Lance frowned at her idea and spoke up “Katie, I think a side bun will suit the dress more than a high ponytail” he suggested helpfully.
Katie groaned rubbing her temple, “I know you are right but I am too tired to even attempt something like that right now. I spent the whole day trying to fix the stupid malfunction in the prototype. My hands are numb” she sighed dramatically, displaying her hands to him.
Lance mentally awed, they still looked so small as compared to his. “Well if you want. I can help you with that. You’d be surprised to see how skilled I have become” he declared proudly and Katie raised a brow in amusement, it had been a longtime since she had a glimpse of his old cocky personality.
“I hope you’re a better hairstylist than you were a tailor”
Sometime later
“Lance, please tell me that you know what you are doing” Katie asked as Lance took hold of her hair, “Will you just relax? It’s going to look amazing!” he assured.
“Although you could have at least brushed it before. It’s all tangled up” he reprimanded, picking up a brush. Katie scoffed in an offended manner, “When I gave you the responsibility of my hair, this was included in it. You can’t back off now buddy”
Lance chuckled as he gently brushed her auburn locks, “Don’t worry I am not backing off. This is my Everest and I will succeed!” he declared. Lance watched in the mirror as Katie rolled her eyes, “Stop being so over dramatic,“ she scoffed again but there was telltale hint of a smile on her face.
“I like to give you a warning. My hair has a mind of its own, so we are gonna need a lot of bobby pins” she informed opening the top drawer of her dresser. Lance blinked in disbelief at the mountain of bobby pins in the drawer, “How do you still have so many of them. Don’t they disappear?” he wondered, after all that’s what years of living with his mother and sisters taught him.
“I buy them twice a month just in case. There was a time Matt used to steal mine to try all these crazy hairstyles. Thankfully he has got a normal haircut now” she replied.
“I see what you mean” he mumbled as a small curl popped out from the half done bun and Katie laughed handing him a handful of bobby pins.
“Anyway what have you got planned for the night?” she asked. “Uh.. nothing, Veronica has to attend a friend’s bridal shower and you have that party so I’ll be at home and probably order pizza” he replied trying to sound upbeat.
“I see..” she mumbled falling silent as Lance continued to work on her hair. After the bun was complete. Lance frowned unsatisfied, it looked perfect from the back but as he glanced at her reflection in the mirror, something was still missing.
So he walked over to the front and gently pulled out a stray curl that framed her face. Katie beamed at him in response as she inspected her reflection. “Thank you, Lance. It looks beautiful”
Lance wanted to correct her and tell that it was she who actually looked beautiful. More beautiful than anyone he had ever seen before but instead he softly smiled in response and accepted the compliment.
He glanced at his watch, there was still half an hour but Katie probably would want to get there earlier. “Well its almost time for you to go. Have fun” he smiled getting up to leave her room.
“Wait!’ she called out suddenly. “I am pretty sure that I am allowed to bring one person so why don’t you come with me?” she offered. Lance blinked in surprise before shaking his head. “Thanks but-”
“Oh come on, It would be better than you staying here. Shiro got back from his intergalactic trip yesterday so you will even get to meet him. Also the food is going to be amazing” She informed gleefully and Lance laughed.
“As much tempting that all sounds. It’s a formal event and I don’t even have a suit” He reminded. “You and Matt are about the same size. So you can wear one of his and dad has this blue tie that would really suit you” she supplied instantly.
Lance grinned, “You really thought this through?” to which Katie nodded proudly.
"There is a reason I am considered a genius. So will you please come” she asked tugging at his arm and Lance finally nodded after it was the same girl he had robbed a water fountain for. He didn’t have much resistance against her.
______________________
“I feel dizzy seeing you like this ” Lance exclaimed holding his head and Shiro chuckled, “I think your being a tad bit melodramatic. I just dyed my hair black”
“It’s been a longtime since I saw them like that. What made you dye them black again?” Lance wondered.
“It started when I coincidentally met Matt during my intergalactic trip. We were just hanging out when he dared me to dye my hair black again. I was kinda hesitant and then he suggested that we could use temporary dye. Unfortunately none of us had any experience in hair dyeing and by the time we were done, we had blackened half the bathroom” Shiro chuckled and Lance joined in.
“Next morning when I woke up and looked in the mirror, I felt so young again and then I realized that I was only in my thirties I didn’t need to have a head full of white hair like some grandpa” he laughed in a thoughtful manner.
Shiro glanced down at his drink before taking a sip, “I realized something important that morning. No matter how glorious or terrible your past is. Dwelling on it too long will destroy your hope for the future. That’s why I erased that part of me”
“What if there is something you can’t erase?” Lance questioned, touching his cheek. Lance knew Shiro would understand, after all he was the first one to get scarred by the war.
“Don’t let it” Shiro firmly replied, “Anything that is stopping you from being happy. Don’t give it that power. Lance, you need to understand something. After what we have gone through, we all deserve to be happy. I know it seems difficult at times but search and go after whatever makes you happy” Shiro stated.
Lance nodded taking in his words, by no coincidence his eyes fell to the figure standing at the opposite side of the room.Katie stood with Eric, chatting excitedly to a group of scientists.
Shiro knowingly smiled to himself witnessing the whole scenario, it was probably the fifth time he had seen Lance look back at Katie ever since she had gone to talk to the other group.
He couldn’t believe that perhaps his years long suspicion might actually be coming true. “So things look better between you and Katie again” he mentioned casually, Shiro’s curiosity turned into glee when Lance’s face slightly flushed.
“Oh yeah, she is the one who actually dragged me here” Lance mumbled shyly.
“I knew you two would eventually figure things out again. True friends always eventually come back to one another”
“You think we could be as good friends as before?” he questioned hopefully. Shiro shrugged in response, “Who knows maybe you two might actually be closer than before. It just depends on how much effort you put in your relationship”
Lance smiled to himself, “Thanks Shiro”
Shiro nodded slyly taking another sip of his drink, Keith and Hunk were in for some news.
“Takashi can you come here. We need to introduce you to the Emperor of Besaiv!!” someone called out from the crowd.
Shiro rolled his eyes in an annoyed manner “To think they might spare me for one night. I’ll be right back ” he said patting Lance’s shoulder and then disappearing in a sea of people.
Lance nodded refilling his drink, he leaned against the wall next to the food table. In order to keep himself amused he looked around the large room despite it being more of a private event the place was still packed with Garrison employees and various alien delegates. There were even paparazzi spying from the windows avoiding security and trying to get a good shot of the event.
Lance considered joining Katie but he didn’t think her ‘boyfriend’ would be very pleased. After all his face looked like he had swallowed a bug when he saw Lance tonight but still managed to amiably greet him for Katie’s sake.
Speaking of the devil, Lance’s eyes widened in surprise when he noticed that Eric was no longer in his previous place. Instead he was seen again moving through the crowd and heading right towards him. Well to be fair, Lance was standing next to the less occupied food’s table so that was more likely why he was coming here.
Eric finally reached the table and filled his plate with few appetizers. “Hey there Lance. Having a good time?” he asked good naturally to which Lance nodded.
Instead of going back with his plate, Eric decided to join him next to the wall. They stood there quietly as Eric ate the appetizers which frankly wouldn’t take much time since they were a bite size only, the silence wasn’t a comfortable one and Lance really hoped that Eric would finish his tiny food quickly and leave.
“So Katie told me that your exam went well” Eric mentioned offhandedly. Finally something they could talk about, Lance sighed in relief. “Yeah I was really worried but thanks to-”
“That’s good to hear” Eric remarked cutting him off, by this time the plate was empty and before Lance could suggest the stuffed cheese chicken in a vain attempt to keep the conversation going, Eric spoke again.
“Lance” Eric cleared his throat, his eyes raced through the crowd before turning back to Lance. “There is something I need to ask” he said opting for a stern tone. Lance nodded uncertainly placing his glass back on the table, "Ok..”
“I need your honest answer to this. Is there something going on between you and Katie? Do you two have any history that I should know about?” he asked, much to Lance’s horror.
“What?! No!” Lance blurted out, his face turning bright red. “We are just close friends. Nothing else!” he replied hurriedly.
Eric frowned in disbelief, “Look, I am not an idiot who is just jumping to conclusions. It’s not like I haven’t met the other paladins, Katie is close with them as well but with you-”
“I already told you that there is nothing going on. How can you not trust her?!” Lance hissed as fury danced in his cool blue eyes.
“Of course I trust her!” Eric replied getting agitated “It’s you that I don’t. After all, it’s pretty obvious that you have feelings for her” Eric pointed out.
Lance stood there tongue-tied as Eric continued, “Oh come on, it’s not like I haven’t noticed that the entire time you have been here you haven’t been able to take your eyes off her nor did I miss the forlorn look in your eyes when I came to pick her up a few days back. So.. can you deny it now?” he questioned harshly.
Lance’s eyes fell to the floor, his face burning with embarrassment and anger but Eric still wasn’t done, “I am surprised to be very honest. Everyone knows how hopelessly devoted you are to the late princess. You even carry her marks on your cheeks so what happened now? Finally got tired of playing the sad lover?”
Lance looked up and glared daggers at him, “That is none of your concern!”
Eric simply gestured towards the auburn haired girl and then eyed Lance dangerously. “You have made it my concern”
Katie laughed forcefully, as Dr Frank cracked what felt like the thousandth joke of the evening. Despite the cool atmosphere, the nervousness was starting to make her hands sweat. Although from afar, it looked like two men just having a serious discussion but she doubted they shared any common interest to have this long of a conversation.
She glanced around her group, it didn’t look like Dr Franks story was going to end anytime soon but she really needed to come up with to escape soon or else tonight’s party would be remembered for very different reasons.
“ I am feeling a bit thirsty. Let me just get a drink” she informed trying to get out of the conversation. Just then a waiter arrived carrying a tray full of drinks, Dr Frank picked up a glass and handed it to Katie.
“Oh would you look at that. Lucky you” He commented joyfully and Katie had to refrain from rolling her eyes, lucky her indeed. Dr Frank’s eyes lit up and Katie prayed that he hadn’t remembered another one of his dreadfully long and supposedly funny stories yet to her dismay.
“You know this reminds me of the time..” he started and Katie internally screamed. She glanced back at the two men. Their postures looked more stiff than before and it looked like the discussion had now turned into a full blown argument.
She wanted to slip away from the group but Dr Zenia had a good grip on her forearm. Just as she was planning her next move, Shiro came to her rescue.
“Uh..sorry to interrupt but there is this urgent matter that needs Katie’s attention” He stated politely, tugging her away from the group of disappointed scientists.
“Thanks Shiro” she mumbled as the two friends swiftly navigated through the crowd. Shiro nervously glanced at the two arguing figures, luckily they hadn’t grabbed a lot of attention, aside from a few waiters who decided to stay clear of them and handful of Besavis who simply blinked their multiple eyes in confusion at the scene.
“Maybe thank me after this gets solved” He replied worriedly. Katie didn’t reply for her eyes were trained right where Shiro’s were a moment ago. Her mind buzzed with various solutions at the same time her heart twisted with worry.
What could have possibly lead to this? She anxiously thought. She hadn’t even brought up the idea of break up by now but then Eric despite his cool nature did have an irrational streak to him and it made her worry about what exactly was he assuming and excusing Lance off.
“Fine, so what do you expect me to do? What is the point of this conversation?” Lance questioned irritability.
“I think the point is clear enough. I want you to stay away from Katie! ” Eric snapped.
Lance sneered in response to Eric’s annoyance,  “Katie and I have known each other even before the discovery of Voltron. Since then, we have faced things together that you can’t even imagine in your worst nightmares. She is one of the most important people in my life so if you think that you can actually try and scare me away. You need to get your head checked for loose screws”
Thankfully before the fight could have further escalate,Katie arrived. She cleared her throat grabbing attention of the two men and at the sight of her both of them paled.
“Katie..” Eric was the first one to speak up much to his misfortune, Katie acknowledged him for a brief moment before turning back to Lance and Shiro.
“Excuse us” she stated politely before turning back to her boyfriend. “Eric follow me, we need to talk” she stated firmly and he complied silently.
Lance watched as the two of them disappeared yet again in the crowd. He and Shiro stood silently for the remainder of the time till Katie finally arrived again. Eric was nowhere near to be found and Katie’s earlier strict demeanor looked crumbled as well, it was obvious what had happened.
Shiro and Lance shared a worried look and Shiro stepped forward to comfort her but Katie wasn’t currently in the mood for sweet words and decided to call it a night, “Good night, Shiro. I’ll see you on Monday” she simply mumbled to the older man who nodded understandably.
She then turned to Lance and he gulped wondering if she had some choice words prepared for him as well but she only sighed softly and said, “Lets go home”
______________________________
Katie slammed the door of her car shut with bang, Lance expectantly glanced at her to say something. He didn’t even care if she would start shouting at him, it would be less scary than this silent Katie.
Katie started slowly making her way towards the house as Lance followed but instead of going inside. She slumped down on the front steps of the house, “Ugh!” she groaned in frustration , covering her face with her hands.
Lance took a hesitant seat beside her, “I am sorry” he mumbled causing Katie to look at him and to his surprise, her eyebrows were cocked up in an amused manner.
“What are you apologizing for?” she asked. Lance looked at her in disbelief, he had thought that Katie would be somewhat furious with him as well. “Because of me. You and Eric got into a fight and you guys broke up” he tried to reason, still feeling confused.
Katie let out a short giggle to his horror, “It was going to happen soon anyway you just catalyzed the whole thing. So don’t feel guilty” she tried to assure.
“Why?” he asked confused, last time he checked Eric looked like he was ready to challenge him to a duel for Katie. This question brought back the earlier gloominess, Katie hugged herself before explaining “It wasn’t gonna work out. I know that eventually he wanted something serious for us but I am not in the same place. I tried to bring myself to that place but I can’t” she cried out helplessly.
“And do you know why?” she added softly, the vulnerable look in her eyes was back, the pale moonlight added a silvery glow to her amber eyes. Lance’s throat felt dry so he only nodded to hear her answer.
“It’s because I am an Idiot!” she declared, “You were right. I can’t do these easy going relationships, it will always be the case of all or nothing for me but I was still stupid enough to do it” she stated miserably.
“You are not stupid. In fact, that’s the exact opposite of what you are” he comforted jokingly, trying to lighten the mood. Unfortunately Katie didn’t seem much amused, “I am stupid at this whole relationship stuff and because of my indecisiveness he is the one who actually got hurt and he deserved better” she whispered.
“Pidge..” Lance called out, wrapping his arm around her, Katie welcomed the comforting embrace and she moved closer to him. She softly sighed, as she placed her head on his shoulder. The two friends remained quiet for a moment, enjoying the tranquility of the night had to offer.
“I shouldn’t be allowed to talk to people” Katie mumbled, her voice slightly muffled by Lance’s jacket. Lance chuckled, “The world would then be a very boring place”
Katie playfully scoffed at his cheesy praise tragically the light atmosphere didn’t last long after all Lance had his own burdens of the heart.
“Since it’s the night of failed relationships. I have a confession too” he declared. Katie lifted her head from his shoulder and eyed her friend with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
“What are you talking about?” she questioned, pulling away from him.
“Allura and I. Our relationship” he started nervously with his eyes trained to the ground.
“It was a mistake”
“A mistake?” Katie repeated. Lance winced, it felt more painful hearing it out in words. “Yes it was mistake. Don’t get me wrong. Allura was a great person and I still love her but now that I think about it, I only ever loved her as a friend and I am pretty sure she never thought more of me either”
Katie looked at him as if he had grown a second head, “Are you sure?” she questioned and to be fair she did have the right to be suspicious, after all he had spent some good years tending those juniberries and avoiding his friends.
“Yes I am sure” he stated. “To be honest there was always something off about our relationship. Sure we were there to comfort and be there for one another but none of us were actually ..happy"
"I used to think that maybe I had exaggerated the idea of love in my head thanks to those stupid writers and poets and this is what it actually felt like” Lance mumbled, glancing at Katie.
He had always found her fascinating, even long before he had known she was a girl. There was this pull and connection he had felt that compelled him to know her better and he feels disappointed that only now he knows what that truly meant.
“But now I know better. Love was never exaggerated by those poets or writers. In fact, it’s such a strong feeling that I don’t think anyone can ever properly describe it” he breathed in amazement, he could feel the warm glow on his cheeks.
“Lance. Your marks are glowing” Katie whispered, reaching out to touch them. Lance laughed heartily, “They are?” his heart wildly danced in his chest as he felt her soft hand against his cheek.
A moment later, the glowing stopped. Katie retracted her hand and beckoned Lance to continue. He cleared his throat, trying to remember his words,“Truth is that we never felt this way about each other and probably if she had lived on. We might have broken up but then she sacrificed herself and gave me the Altean marks and at that time, I was really confused about the whole thing but when I got the Altean marks. I somehow convinced myself that maybe we had been truly in love and now it was my destiny to keep her memory alive”
“And then you know it got out of hand” he mumbled, feeling embarrassed. “I felt confused, lost and trapped. The only goal that made sense to me at that time was keeping her memories alive and then when you guys tried to help me move on. I couldn’t do it. It felt like too much pressure” He confessed as Katie rubbed his back in comfort.
“But hey look at yourself now. You have come so far, you actually are moving on and you know the best part is that you decided to do it on your own. That means you are ready for a new life” she pointed out to which Lance smiled.
“I am” he agreed, “and now when I think about it. I realize that Allura would never want me to keep my life on hold like that. I am pretty sure if she had the opportunity she would have kicked me back to the Garrison” he stated lightheartedly and Katie silently agreed.
"i realized something important today. Team Voltron sucks at romance” Katie declared glumly. Lance chuckled and nodded in agreement.
“What about Hunk though?” Lance asked suddenly remembering one of them was actually in a stable relationship.
“You’re forgetting that he chickened out three times before he finally asked Shay out for a proper date” Katie reminded.
“I don’t think you could add Keith to our group” Lance pointed out, “Mullet managed to seduce three princesses and almost caused war in a planet”
“Whoa! Who knew that Keith was the true lover boy but what can be said girls do love the broody artist type” she grinned.
“The ponytail must have surely helped” Lance added and the two of them broke into fits of laughter.
After the laughter died down. They sat in amiable silence, enjoying the peace and security the other’s company provided.
“I missed this” he confessed breaking the silence, Katie smiled softly and nodded in response. Somehow that soft smile provided him the courage to say the words, he had kept off his lips the whole time. Although he had thought about this for a very long time, always wondering and worrying for the right time to say them and it seemed like the moment had finally arrived.
“Katie, I am sorry” he whispered, taking hold of her hand. “I should never have pushed you away like that, it was the stupidest thing I have ever done and you should know that I really regret it. I regret driving you away to the point of ruining our friendship because Katie you mean so much to me” he confessed, tightening the grip on her hand.
“I felt miserable during the period we stopped talking and it made realize how important you are to me. I never ever want to lose you again” he declared.
Katie was grateful for the lack of light for she was sure her face was redder than a firetruck still her lips curved into a smile, “Never?” she questioned cheekily.
Lance grinned in response, “Even when we die. My ghost will find yours and since Keith is gonna live longer than us because of his galra genes. We will go haunt him”
“Lance..” she tried rolling her eyes at the ridiculous statement but truth was she couldn’t be happier so she finally decided to be honest. Honest with him but most importantly to herself.
“I am glad you are back. I missed you so much” she finally confessed. Lance’s heart practically jumped out of his chest when she pressed a kiss on his cheek and then pulled him into longing hug. He responded, holding onto her with equal desperation.
“I am sorry too” she whispered in his ear. “I should have been more understanding and patient with you”.
“It’s alright. It doesn’t matter anymore. I am just glad to have you back” he replied, closing his eyes as two stray tears slid down his cheeks. As the tears made contact with the marks, they glowed for the last time before finally disappearing forever.
Epilogue
Leon, come back here!!“ Lance called out running after his three year old son. Leon shrieked in excitement as his father finally caught him and then lifted him into the air.
"Leon is flying in space!” Lance declared, spinning his son in the air. “Papa higher!” Leon demanded, failing his arms.
Katie smiled to herself as she watched the little scene. In a minute she had to go and remind Lance to stop messing around and put Leon to bed but for now her she let herself relax and be grateful.
She was reminded of an interesting discussion they had at work, there existed multiple realities in the vast universe and each reality had a different conclusion to their story, in some they might have never even met and led their lives contently without the knowledge of other.
Probably in another, they fell in love at first sight and never parted or maybe they did meet but their feelings never surpassed the platonic line. She slightly frowned at the idea that perhaps in a few they did fall in love but the time hadn’t been right and they didn’t end up together.
“Mama!” Leon called out, Lance had finally put their dizzy toddler down and now he was running with full speed towards her. Katie slightly toppled as Leon crashed into her legs and urged her to pick him up.
She dutifully did so and then showered his face with kisses. Leon giggled with delight but the excitement didn’t last long for his eyes had now started to grow heavy and the familiar scent of his mother was lulling him to sleep, Leon wrapped his arms around his mother’s neck and a few moments later he was fast asleep.
Lance immediately came over to her side offering to take Leon from her. She softly smiled and shook her head assuring him that despite her exhaustion she could carry her boy.
After tucking Leon into bed, the couple quietly walked out of the room. Lance reached out and engulfed his wife in a needy hug,“ I missed you so much. One month is too long ” he pouted referring to his recent mission from which he had just returned.
“I gotta say I am surprised that you didn’t immediately come over to my lab after landing maybe becoming the Head pilot changes people” she teased and Lance further pouted still holding her firmly in his arms.
“I was just coming over to your lab when Iverson stopped me and asked me to give report of the mission. I swear that man is plain evil, he purposely stopped me from seeing you!” Lance declared and Katie shook her head.
“You’re forgetting, it’s only because of Iverson we met in the first place. Who the heck is Pidge Gunderson?” she reminded and Lance softly smiled, kissing the top of her head.
His eyes fell on their wedding rings and he sighed in contentment for out of all the billions of possible realities that existed. They managed to exist in the one where despite the internal conflicts, mistakes and uncertainties they had to go through they had finally found true happiness.
“My wife” he proudly replied.
Thank you for everyone who read this! I hope you enjoyed it and please reblog if you did and tell me your favorite moment. Thank you @artemisarya for letting me borrow Leon for the ending.

Pure Irony
Author’s note: First Klance fic for this blog! Very late, very random, but have two boys giggling like a bunch of highschoolers in an alley anyway  Thanks for 800 followers!
Summary: Keith was going to hell for this, wasn’t he?
But if going to hell meant Lance practically pushing him against a cold wall with their faces barely three inches apart and his adorable, hushed laughter blessing his ears, then Keith was more than ready for it.
Word count: 1,650
Irony was a funny thing.
“Shit!”
Before he could even utter a sound of protest, he was yanked into the nearest alley by Lance’s warm, yet rough hand. Honestly, Keith kind of wanted to make fun of him for this, but Lance slapped a hand over his mouth and not so subtly sneaked a peek around the corner.
Seriously, this guy would be the worst spy ever. It was a good thing Allura – that girl he’d been crushing on for three years – was a couple of feet away from them and talking to someone, totally oblivious still. Keith hadn’t had time to register who the other person was exactly, but it’d looked like a girl from one of their classes.
Didn’t have to mean anything. It did to Lance, though.
“What do we do,” Lance hissed and, ah, pressed himself closer to Keith, lowering his hand when he continued, “She can’t see me. What if she thinks I’m stalking her?”
What. How did Lance’s mind even work.
“Right,” Keith deadpanned and resisted the urge to flick his ear. “You both live in the same dorm. We hang out almost every day. Why would she think that you’re stalking her?”
That didn’t seem to any effect on Lance as he curled around Keith again, craning his neck so he could take another look. “Okay, okay, shh. They’re talking. Still talking, laughing, yes I’m sure that that girls hilarious. Ugh, just-just turn around. Turn around and walk along, so we can, I dunno, make a one-eighty and get out of here.”
A sigh. “And where exactly do you plan on going? It’s getting late.”
“I’ll sleep on a bench in the park, it’s fine.”
Lance still wasn’t looking at him, his dark eyes totally focused on the other two and Keith couldn’t believe he was actually in this situation. Pressed against a brick wall by that one guy he’d been crushing on for about three years as well, which was fine, totally fine. Said guy’s cologne wasn’t exactly helping, though. Along with the fact that Lance’s face was so close to his own, like, he could feel the warmth of the other’s skin and ugh, Keith really hated his life right now.
Their cheeks were practically touching— anyway. It wasn’t like he could exactly blame Lance for this. He and Allura had been dancing around each other for those damn three years while Keith was on the other side of the room, casually pretending he didn’t mind Lance’s insane pining. And that his poor gay heart wasn’t suffering because of it.
It was usually easy to pretend that it wasn’t affecting him, at all. This particular situation, however, was a whole new level.
“If she sees me, I might as well die of embarrass-ment!”
That last part turned into a squeak. Keith guessed that one of them had looked in their general direction because Lance, of all things, had buried his face in Keith’s neck.
Peachy.
Keith turned his head a little and tried to focus on their voices as a way to distract himself. They seemed neither nearer nor farther in his opinion. Probably hadn’t even noticed their presence. In fact, they were laughing again, so Lance was truly being paranoid about this.
“They’ll probably talk for another two hours,” Keith whispered and, interestingly, felt Lance shiver. “You’re not gonna die if she sees you, Lance. Let’s just go. ”
But Lance was flailing and squeezing his shoulders, shaking like crazy. Keith was so confused.
“… What?” he mumbled.
“Stoptalkingittickles.”
Right. Yeah, the back of Lance’s neck was really close to his lips, so that made sense.
Surely Keith was not an asshole. He wasn’t gonna take advantage of this. No, not at all—
Never mind. Yes, he was.
“Sorry, what was that?” Keith oh so innocently spoke, making his words even breathier than necessary and almost chuckled when Lance psychically cringed, digging his fingers into Keith’s shirt.
“Fuck you, oh my god,” Lance huffed and raised his head, probably as some sort of way to defend his sensitive neck, but there were more than enough openings.
Gloved hands snuck down to Lance’s waist, slipped under his jacket and threateningly stayed there, enjoying the full body shiver he managed to cause with that simple touch. Lance was glaring daggers at him, obviously trying to look intimidating, but it was pretty cute in Keith’s eyes.
Lance was literally pouting. “Keith, my dude, my man, think about what you’re doing.”
“I already am,” was the smug reply, accompanied by a small squeeze that made Lance jerk forward with a panicked gasp. “’s pretty fun if you ask me.”
Squeeze, squeeze.
“They’ll hear us!” Lance panted, his lips curled into a forced smile, hands still holding onto Keith’s arms for dear life.
“Better make sure they don’t, then.”
It was so mean. Maybe a little too mean. Still, creating a memory of Lance laughing breathlessly into the crook of his neck was gonna be worth it. Their position had been an absolute nightmare before and now he was able to enjoy every second of it.
Now he didn’t mind their proximity, or the lovely smell of Lance’s cologne, or the way his warm hands were gripping his upper arms. He could get used to Lance’s short huffs of giggles brushing over his collarbone, his body twitching along with his fingers, feeling the warmth of his skin because, well, he’d casually flicked up his shirt and went under it.
Yeah, there it was. A muffled shriek. He could feel Lance’s lips stretching into a wide grin.
At this point, Keith was shaking with silent laughter, too. His fingers roamed over Lance’s back, muscles twitching every time he brushed over another ticklish spot and leaving a trail of goosebumps behind.
“I hate y-you,” Lance groaned and jumped when Keith’s fingers hovered near his ribs. “I will get you back for this.”
Instead of answering, Keith scribbled a bunch of random patterns over the other’s ribcage that made Lance go rigid before he hid his face in Keith’s chest, more soft laughter escaping. Allura and the other girl were still talking and didn’t appear to have noticed Keith being a huge dick, so he decided he could step up his game a little.
By leaning forward until his lips were close to Lance’s ear again and murmuring, “Sure you will.”
Poor Lance scrunched up his shoulders and waved his hands around like a ninja, which was so very amusing that Keith had to look away for a second to compose himself. His hands were still very much under Lance’s shirt, just chilling. Holding his waist like guy friends do.
Keith was going to hell for this, wasn’t he.
But if going to hell meant Lance practically pushing him against a cold wall with their faces barely three inches apart and his adorable, hushed laughter blessing his ears, then Keith was more than ready for it.
Yeah, it was bad. But also kind of fun. Lance was holding him so tightly, bubbly and giddy laughter continuously pouring out of him and Keith both loved and hated himself for being the one responsible for it.
“I’m dying,” Lance whined through his endless stream of giggles and laid his hands over Keith’s chest. Not holding him, but not pushing him away, either. All the while Keith ran his hands over his sides and ribs, barely grazing him, but it had the desired effect nonetheless. “The police will come for your sneaky ass.”
“I’ll go to jail for tickling you?”
Snicker. “Yes.”
Stupid, unbelievable Lance was mirroring his smirk. “Idiot.”
Apparently their voices had been loud enough to draw attention, because they heard footsteps. It was somehow possible for Lance to bring their bodies even closer and Keith instinctively tightened his grip on his hips.
“Thought I heard voices. Oh, hey, it’s Lance! And— Keith?”
Keith should’ve seen this coming. “Hi.”
“… It’s not what it looks like?” Lance added lamely, still curled up in Keith’s arms, face flushed beyond saving.
A few seconds passed in which Allura’s eyes darted back and forth between them before her pretty face broke into a knowing smile. “I’m sure it isn’t. Sorry for interrupting.”
The other girl politely stayed on the other side of the wall, so Keith couldn’t see her and he was thankful for that. Lance simply flashed her one of his dashing grins, clearly aware of the fact that he wasn’t gonna sweet-talk himself out of this one and Keith was starting to feel the guilt eating at him.
It had all been fun and games until now. Maybe he’d overstepped some boundaries. Damn.
He nodded when Allura told them goodnight and left him and (his feelings for) Lance alone.
“We were spotted,” Keith awkwardly broke the silence after they were out of earshot.
Lance still hadn’t moved. “Yeah and it was totally your fault.”
“Pretty sure it was yours.”
It drew another small huff of laughter out of Lance who finally decided to stand up straight and, oh, Keith probably had to pull his hands back. They felt oddly cold and he could only watch as Lance fixed his shirt and jacket.
“Guess you were right.”
Blink, blink. “I was right?” Keith gaped at him.
“Yeah,” Lance flashed him a grin. “She saw me and I didn’t die. I’m a total survivor.”
Right. That.
“Told you,” Keith managed to grin back and followed him out of the alley until he fell into step beside him. They also fell into a silence but Lance did move closer to him, their shoulders and hands shyly touching. “You’re not… mad?”
“’course not.” Lance looked back at him, a soft smile on his face. “I’ll admit I was being a bit dramatic. You can make it up to me by coming over for a movie night.”
Irony. ‘Twas truly a funny thing.

1. Laforte Research Center
Game settings: NG+, Milla side, Japanese version for the voices.
I really love the beginning. You immediately start with a sense of purpose - something happened that killed spirits, you go investigate and hopefully stop whatever it was.  I personally prefer Milla’s side, and this is part of the reason why. The stakes are already big from the start with Milla. She’s a powerful being on a mission to protect spirit. It’s a grand start to an adventure. On the other hand Jude is just a random civilian unexpectedly thrust into it. In a way that makes him more in line with usual Tales protagonists, but he’s not the main driving force of the plot - Milla is. He’s more of a supporting protagonist. Not that it’s a bad thing, mind you. The role fits him well. But it’s a reason I prefer playing from Milla’s pov.
Anyway, Milla doesn’t talk much at first, only gets to the point, and is clearly not used to interacting with humans. But she already shows her ability to roll with whatever happens as long as it doesn’t compromise her mission. She allows Jude to join her not because she needs him or feels responsible for his safety, but because he asked and there’s no particular reason to say no. She warned him of the danger, and she respects his decision. That doesn’t mean she is completely indifferent to his presence, though. As they progress through the research center, they have a few conversations and start getting to know each other a bit, and at the same time she gets to know humans a little bit more than from what she read in baby books.
It’s funny to imagine what Jude might have been feeling on meeting her. First he nearly drowned for being loud, then nearly gets killed by some girl, sees his professor dead... Then the mysterious woman he’s following around summons the four great spirits like it’s nothing and claims to be Maxwell herself. It must have been so scary and confusing. But he’s still able to move forward. I think he’s pretty resilient.
Agria is all over the place lol. She truly is a wild card. She’s there as a spy, but she’s ready to blow everything up just because she’s mad.
We still don’t really know what spyrixes are at this point, but we see how powerful and dangerous the Lance is. No wonder Milla wants to destroy it.
It’s interesting to see how all-powerful Milla is with the Four, and how helpless she is without. Her life until now mostly consisted in staying in her shrine, occasionally stepping out to destroy spyrixes when she felt spirits dying. She wielded such tremendous power that she never really had to worry about her own safety. But they didn’t prepare for the possibility of the Four being incapacitated and her having to fend for herself, and so when the moment arises she’s in great trouble. However, she is resourceful, and quickly learns to adapt to her situation. Jude’s help is, of course, invaluable, though at this point he’s only helping her out of a sense of responsibility and is actually in way over his head. It would have been smarter to just leave her, but that’s not Jude, and so he becomes complicit.
Something I really love about their dynamic (and we will see that even better later) is how they respect and value each other’s decisions. Milla warns him about the danger and tells him when she thinks his help isn’t needed anymore, but she never tries to force him to leave. Likewise, Jude doesn’t really understand what she’s there for and what she wants to accomplish, but he doesn’t try to dissuade her, just accepts that’s what she wants to do and helps her with it. They’re a good pair, already from early on.
Anyway they’re headed for the port now.

My Personal Voltron Season 7 Review
Okay, so I’m seeing a lot of S7 hate and love on here, and I have some opinions of my own, so let’s talk…
(Just so you know, none of my opinions are influenced by which ships did or didn’t get their moment.)
THE BADS:
• First off, I hated the game show episode. Hated it. The only part I liked was the end where they all voted for who should get to leave and gave reasons for it, but then they just cut through a good moment with Keith’s reasoning for picking Lance. Like, totally threw his character development out the window for a jab at Lance, which, ha ha, makes an audience of ten-year-olds laugh I guess. But for older and long-time fans of the show, it just fell short of anything good. The whole episode was full of Lance jabs, too. And Lance has been developing as a character, so I don’t think that was very fair. Here, it’s like the one-sided rivalry all the way back from S1 is back, but this time Keith, the leader, is the petty one. I just really didn’t like that episode. Overall, they were barely in character, character development was completely ignored, and it did not move the plot along What So Ever. Filler episodes were cute in earlier seasons, but this season is the penultimate. There’s sooo many more filler options that could’ve maintained the tone of the season while still being funny and light-hearted.
• Too many new characters. I feel like the writers are digging themselves in a hole here. Don’t get me wrong, I like Romelle, but she’s just… there. In the background. The only scenes where she’s given any screen time are comedic ones, which is great, but she’s just tagging along and the loss of hER ENTIRE CIVILIZATION AND HER BROTHER DYING IN HER ARMS Is never acknowledged. I would’ve liked to have seen a bonding moment between Allura and Romelle, maybe even with Coran. Hell, they could’ve made THAT the filler episode. Aside from Romelle, I feel like they did a good job with Krolia’s character and her bond with Keith, but they haven’t really given us a reason as to why she’s there. What’s her purpose? Too much screen time with too little impact on the plot, in my opinion. Don’t get me started on Acxa. No point. Literally no point. I seriously hope that the writers have plans for her in S8 other than Keith’s love interest. Characters don’t have to fall in love to get closure, but it seems like that might be the “closure” route they’re heading to with Keith and it scares me. It’s such a forced relationship. I don’t mind Keith getting with a girl but shit, at least put him with someone the audience can connect with. A blade member that he fought side-by-side with or something, not “I’m so sorry for being on an evil team, I’m different now” and “don’t you remember how she never wanted to kill him uwu” ugh. Please stop. And I like Griffin’s team, a lot, but I’m not sure what the purpose is of introducing a group of characters with main-character potential with only one season left. Maybe it’s a surprise, or maybe they just did it so the audience could be better invested in the flashbacks about what happened to Earth.
• The??? Fucking getting lost in space??? How? Like, I sort of understand the purpose: Keith’s been separated from the team for a while, and they need to re-establish their bond. However, it seems like Keith’s character development has been ignored again, and he’s reverted back to S1 Keith, which is really annoying. I was rolling my eyes the whole time. Like, I get it, they’re going a little space-crazy, and they’re gonna turn on each other a bit. But it’s like the writers forgot that they aren’t in S1 and S2 anymore, or at least that’s how it felt to me. Angsty Keith, *yawn* been there, done that. He’s an adult now. And their leader. They could’ve gone about re-forging the paladins’ bonds another way. Not to mention, the time-lighting thing was never explained, never made any sense. Oh! And guess what else was ignored? The characters figured out a long freakin time ago that they could call out to their lions for help, did they just forget?
• Shiro and Keith practically don’t interact throughout the entire season, besides ep 1. Again, I kind of get it. They dedicated an entire episode to their bond, last season and this one. I’m not looking for more proof of their bond, but they need to talk about Shiro being dead, Keith fighting his clone, and Keith willingly falling to his death with Shiro. They’ve both got to be traumatized on some level, and it’s not even acknowledged. Like, what are the writers afraid of? Are they afraid that the Sheith shippers will get their hopes up? Are they afraid Klance shippers will get mad? Are they afraid people will get bored of Shiro and Keith interacting? Did they just not have enough time to address it (*cough* game show episode *cough*)? Like, regardless of the reasoning, a lot of shit happened between the two that needs to be talked about. I don’t know and it doesn’t matter if the writers intend for them to be like brothers or best friends or something more, that kind of stuff needs closure. Shiro probably has nightmares about dying/being dead and trying to kill his team. Keith probably has flashbacks of the first person other than his dead father to care about him trying to murder him and saying he should’ve abandoned him. Writers, please, even a thirty second conversation would suffice if it’s done well. They at least need a
“I’m sorry I tried to kill you, Keith.”
“It wasn’t you, Shiro. I’m sorry I didn’t know you were dead.”
“It’s okay, you saved me from that darkness. I thought I was going to be there forever.”
Then they hug and go on their ways. That’s it! That’s the bare minimum. That would’ve sufficed. Shiro’s obviously got some heavy inner monologue, why push it off to S8 or ignore it completely?
• And for my last bad, we have: killing Adam. This isn’t about shipping; I really didn’t care if Shiro and Adam got back together or not. But they deserved closure. Shiro deserves closure. I know Shiro’s the “stoic leader” but he has feelings, and the writers just keep making bad shit happen to him and never address how it’s affected him. Listen, Shiro is an LGBT+ rep regardless of whether he’s in a relationship, as long as he isn’t killed off. But give him some depth. The closest thing to that we’ve gotten so far is knowing that he (used to have?) muscular dystrophy, and seeing his memories of Keith. Other than that, where’s his backstory? His reason for joining the Garrison? His family? How his adventures have affected him mentally? Adam could’ve been the window to all of that, but they killed off an opportunity. If they wanted to highlight the loss of war, they could’ve killed one of Lance’s many family members, or one of Hunk’s; but Adam, as far as we know, was all Shiro had to come back to. He was the only way that they could’ve taken Shiro and made him into a more complex character. Besides that, I don’t think it’s right that they had us anticipating meeting this queer character for nearly an entire season before revealing he’d died. It’s not as bad as when some shows kill off queers, but still… I hope they give Shiro a romantic interest in someone else; queer representation includes healthy queer relationships and happy endings.
Overall for the bads, in my opinion, this is the gist of it: Character development was ignored at times. Some of the writing was lazy. Too many characters/plot point, too little time. Not addressing major issues with characters. And… queerbaiting. You don’t have to agree, but this is my opinion on queerbaiting: it isn’t black and white. Sometimes it’s terrible, sometimes it’s just a little annoying. Voltron killed off a queer character, but he wasn’t a main, and he wasn’t the only queer, and we didn’t know him. On the other hand, he was the only other (confirmed) queer character’s love interest. On a queerbaiting scale of 1-10, I’d call it a 5. Like I said, it’s partly redeemable if they give Shiro another male love interest.
THE GOODS:
• Shiro’s flashbacks of Keith. We’ve been seeing since S1 how much Keith cares about Shiro, and now we finally get a glimpse of Shiro caring about Keith. The “we saved each other” line. The flashbacks paired with Keith’s desperation really cemented that bond that they started showing us in S6, and little Keith was adorable. It was also important to get a little more background on Keith, it tied up all the loose ends from Keith and Krolia’s time in the quantum abyss. Also in ep 1, the humor was top-notch. The writers managed to make comedy out of a dire situation for the paladins, and Romelle seemed to fit in very well! And I find it impressive that shifting back and forth between the funny, light-hearted adventure of the others and the solemn, tense situation in the Black Lion didn’t kill the mood of either plot line. It will come as no surprise to you that ep 1 was my favorite of the season; probably one of my favorites in the series.
• Having Krolia separate from the team. Don’t get me wrong, I love Krolia. She’s a great mom and her relationship with Keith was written perfectly; it checked all the boxes for my hopes when Keith finally met his mother. But she was older and more mature than the paladins; she didn’t fit in. In her heart, she’s a member of the Blade, and she knows she’s more useful to the cause as a spy and fighting alongside Kolivan. I’m glad that they didn’t undercut my love for Krolia by having her awkwardly tagging along. And the writers kicked fragile masculinity’s ass with the goodbye scene between Keith and Krolia. The soft smiles, the “I love you”s, the hugs, and KeiTH GIVING HER HIS BLADE THAT HES HAD SINCE HE WAS A BABY BECAUSE HE KNEW HED SEE HER AGAin those were all wonderful. Everything about the mother/son relationship between Keith and Krolia, from the moment they met to the moment they said goodbye, was perfectly executed. They took their time with it. Kudos to the writers for that.
• Character development. Barring everything I said in the ‘BADS’ because I don’t want to be repetitive, the character development in S7 was phenomenal. We have Lance taking on more leadership responsibilities, stepping up, protecting people he cares about at the risk of his own life, and respecting Keith as the team leader. In this season, I’ve grown to respect Lance a lot (ha) more. And we finally get some background on Hunk, we see him missing his family and home, we see him crying, being frustrated about it. We see him opening up to Keith. Keith, of all people (maybe Keith was the only one who asked). Either way, I love the depth they gave Hunk, and I love the acknowledgement of Keith and Hunk’s friendship, especially after that lost in space scene. And Keith’s character development, omg. It was the best. He was a leader before, but now, he could give Shiro a run for his money. Maybe he already did. The team respects him unhesitatingly. He leads them out of every life-or-death situation on top. He helps them forge a closer bond with their lions than they’ve ever had before, on more than one occasion. And he does something that’s really hard for him, which is asking someone else (Hunk) to open up to him. He offers to listen to his teammate’s worries. His fighting (mostly hand-to-hand combat) skills are clearly the best we’ve seen in the show, right on the same level with Shiro. When he killed that Druid without seeing him I was like 😯, and when hE LAUNCHED OUT AN AIRBORNE LION AND SLICED THROUGH SENDAK LIKE HE WAS NOTHING BECAUSE SHIRO WAS IN DANGER I Was like 😲!!!
• The animation was outstanding. I know the poor animators were busting their asses, especially during those last few episodes. It’s got to be the best animation I’ve seen in the show so far (besides the ‘The Black Paladins’ animation in S6, it sent me into another dimension). In fact, VLD has some of the best animation I’ve ever seen in shows of its kind, and that’s saying something. Those fight scenes get you so immersed, and they’re like a visual orgasm.
• This one is more opinion than anything else, so I’ll keep it short, but I love how they showed the fighting spirit of Earth. How humanity never gives in. I think that’s part of why everyone enjoyed those flashback episodes of Earth so much; the audience felt they could relate to those people, and they felt proud to call themselves human. In the show, while interrogating Sendak’s memories, they asked, “What do you do if a planet refuses to give up?” (Referring to Earth). And Sendak basically says, “We destroy it, but the only planet who’s ever refused to give up is Altea.” And I. Love. That. Time and time again, we’ve been shown how smart and powerful the Alteans were, and now we’re being compared to them. I love the overall way that the writers handled the paladins’ return to Earth. I love the paladins’ interactions with Griffin’s team, I love the Alteans integrating easily with humans, I love humanity’s resilience being showcased, I love the reunions, I love Keith’s interaction with Iverson, and, most of all (some people won’t agree with me on this), I love that humans already knew about aliens and the Galra when Voltron returned. I would have dreaded them having to go through quarantine, and being called crazy, and having to fight against the Garrison, and whatnot. I just love how most of the last few episodes were handled; it was mostly the middle of the season that I had issues with.
Overall for the goods: I liked getting a little insight into how much Shiro cares for Keith. I liked ep 1 a lot. I liked how well they handled everything about Krolia. I liked the character development and background that we FINALLY get throughout the season. The amazing animation. Enough said. And the way the writers wrote Earth, in the flashbacks and in the present.
Overall for the season: I don’t think it completely tanked. I think too much of people’s opinions are based on ships, but I agree that this was not the best season, and it fell short in a lot of areas. It was a little disappointing, but not un-redeemable, and I think everyone who’s saying “fuck Voltron” and swearing to never watch it again is a bit ridiculous and childish, tbh. Disagree if you want, but that’s my opinion and last I checked, I was allowed to have one.
Alright, let me know if I left anything out! Feel free to add anything or share your opinion, even if it’s negative, I want to know your thoughts!

(no) fear of drowning - Chapter 4
For @platonicvldweek, seven ficlets from (not)Shiro’s POV post-S4. Day Four Prompt: Supernatural/Horror. Shiro has made a decision, and he thinks he knows what he’s doing, until something Lance says throws it all into question.
"Shiro, where are you going?"
Lance's voice, soft and plaintive. Shiro froze in the middle of packing the shuttle pod. Slowly, he backed out of the cargo compartment and turned around. Lance stood there in the middle of the hangar, hands jammed under his armpits and shoulders hunched. Even from this distance, Shiro could tell that he was starting to tear up.
Shiro swallowed. This wasn't what he wanted. He had fully intended to skip out of the castle in the middle of the night, only Keith aware of why he was going and where. He'd already been through this whole conversation, all the questions, all the justifications, the anger from Keith, the contrition from Shiro only matched by his stubbornness. He didn't want to have this conversation a second time with Lance.
Apparently the universe wasn't going to give him his way, though, because here was the Blue Paladin, shivering in the middle of the cold, empty space of the castle's hangar and trying not to cry. At least Keith hadn't shed any tears. Not where Shiro could see them, anyway.
Shiro closed his eyes for a moment, resigning himself, then carefully moved over to where Lance stood. He tried to keep a distance, though every instinct in his body screamed for him to put a hand on Lance's shoulder, brush away his tears, hug him. Just something, anything, to stop his pain. But he didn't dare. He couldn't make this any harder, not for himself and not for Lance.
Lance looked into his face, eyes moving back and forth as if reading his expression. Then he slumped, a sigh releasing from his mouth. "No, you don't have to answer me. I know why you're leaving, even if I don't know where you're going."
Shiro blinked. "You do?"
Lance nodded. He pulled one hand out from his armpit, rolled into a fist, and knuckled at his eye. "You think you can't be here anymore. You think it's too dangerous. But you can, Shiro. You can be here. You should be here. This is the best place for you, no matter what you think." He grimaced and bared his teeth, frustrated determination in every line of his body.
Shiro bit his lip. "You know about the tests."
"Yeah." Lance rubbed at his other eye, but the tears kept coming. "I'm Hunk and Pidge's rubber duck when they're having trouble figuring something out. I can't offer anything to the conversation, not really, but they can bounce ideas off me. I heard everything, even though I didn't understand ninety-five percent of it."
Shiro inched closer, inexorably drawn by that miserable undercurrent in Lance's voice. "You don't give yourself enough credit," he said softly. "You understand enough to ask good questions. You make them think more, in different directions, and it's good for them. I've seen you do it. You're not stupid, Lance."
Lance shook his head, lowered toward his chest, then raised it to look into Shiro's face again. Tears were streaming down both cheeks now. He'd stopped trying to wipe them away. "I know." Bitterness in his voice. "I figured out you would be here, didn't I?"
Shiro grimaced and took a step back. "I'm sorry."
"Don't go." Desperation, now. "Please, Shiro. Don't go. We'll figure something out."
Shiro had to hold on to his purpose. "I'm not just leaving to leave, buddy. There's something I have to do."
Lance tilted his head.
He pointed back to the cockpit. "I have all the data from Lotor. All of the labs and secret stashes Haggar's been keeping. It would be a waste of Voltron's time to track them down, not when you have so many other things to worry about. Planets to defend, people to save, a war to fight. I'm going to find out what's going on. Probably most of them will be dead ends, like the lab where we found that clone who couldn't brathe, but if I find anything, I'll call for back-up. Allura and Keith have both agreed."
Lance stared into his face. "Why didn't you discuss this with the team, then? Let us all talk about your plans, make a decision together?"
Shiro had to look away. He could hear Lance clenching his teeth.
"Because you just decided, didn't you. You decided you had to go. And then you told them."
Shiro looked back at him. He nodded.
Lance stepped closer. "Then take me with you."
Shiro's heart melted. "Oh, Lance."
Another step. "Please. Don't go alone. I can't...we can't lose you again."
"Buddy..." Shiro slumped.
"They can find another paladin. They've done it before."
Shiro shook his head, helpless. He couldn't keep his distance any longer. Before Lance reached him, he reached back, grabbed his shoulders, pulled him in. Lance shuddered in his arms.
"Lance." Shiro held him close. "You are not replaceable. I can't take you away from the team."
Lance buried his nose in his shoulder and mumbled his words there. "I know you're worried that you might be a clone."
Shiro froze. He couldn't move, couldn't think, couldn't speak.
"You think that's why you dreamed about floating in pink liquid, right? Because maybe you're a clone, too." Lance's arms wrapped around his rib cage and squeezed him tight. "But you aren't. I know you aren't. You're Shiro. You've always been Shiro."
"Lance..." He could barely breathe. No, it had never crossed his mind that he could be a clone, too. Why not? It should have. Why had he never had that thought for himself? Why had it taken Lance to connect the dots for him?
"You're my hero," Lance whispered. "Since before I met you, since that day in Keith's shack, since you came back the second time. You've always been my hero. You still are. You're Shiro. I'm sure of it. You might be a little messed up in the head, a little scrambled, but you are. You're you."
"Kiddo..." Shiro held his shoulders and pushed him back, and Lance reluctantly let go, let himself be propelled until he stood separate again. He looked into Shiro's face, sniffling, seconds away from bawling. Shiro's voice went even more soft, more tender. "Thank you, Lance. I really appreciate it. I appreciate everything you've done for me. But I have to go. I have to make sure."
Resignation poured over Lance's expressive face. He nodded, then stepped back out of Shiro's grip and buried his face in his hands.
Shiro patted the top of his head. "I'll be back. For the third time. The last time. I promise."
"You'd better," Lance mumbled, but there was heat in it, too.
Shiro smiled, bittersweet and soft. Then he left.
He traveled to secret labs and worn-down warehouses, abandoned and broken and dead. He founds the remnants of experiments and research from centuries ago, millennia ago.
He found other replicas of himself, all with some sort of fatal flaw. A heart that didn't beat, that had arrythmia, limbs that had grown twisted or hadn't grown at all. Mouths that babbled like infants or were sewn shut. Eyes that didn't see or saw too much. Minds that were shattered. All floating in pink liquid, all twisted and useless and left to rot. He grew used to watching his own face dying in his arms or on the floor or in patchy, washed-out video recordings.
His heart became numb to horror, but never numb enough. This was his punishment for allowing himself to be captured and used. This was his penance for putting his team in danger, however unwitting. This was the burden he accepted so no one else would have to bear it.
He killed Galra soldiers, took down sentries, shot out laser turrets. Occasionally he joined with local rebels, sometimes even with Matt, to take down fortified targets. More often, he needed nothing more than himself and the weapon Haggar had built into his arm. He was the cancer she had created, returning to tear apart her body of work from within. He liked the metaphor. He liked it very much.
Everywhere he found data, he stripped out the more horrific elements and sent it back to Voltron. He kept in sporadic communication with Matt and Pidge, sometimes Hunk, more rarely Keith and Lance. He didn't want to taint them.
Because now that Lance had implanted the idea, he could not stop turning it over in his mind. Maybe he was a clone, too. Maybe he was a spy Haggar had sent to infiltrate Voltron, but somehow he had failed. Maybe he had been abandoned by her, too.
He could think of several instances since his second capture when he could have caused the team serious injury or even death. Always a judgment call, always something someone had argued against, but he got his way because he was the Black Paladin and everyone trusted him. Telling Keith to take a hit, telling Allura to hold back at a crucial moment. Telling them stay on the surface of Naxcella, waiting to see what would happen.
Shiro went cold when he remembered that moment. His decision could have killed them all. Would have, if not for Allura's unexpected surge of magical strength pulling them away from the doomed planet by brute force and raw power. Even then, they still might have died if Lotor had not thwarted Haggar's plan at the last moment. Lotor might have foiled Haggar's designs in more ways than he knew.
Maybe that was why Pidge and Hunk and Matt couldn't find anything wrong with Shiro's arm--because it wasn't the original. It was a copy, lesser and reduced, just like himself. Maybe that was why he hadn't been able to unlock Black's greater powers since the battle in which he'd disappeared. Maybe that was why he had been reluctant to wield the black bayard, because on some level he knew it wouldn't work for him.
Shiro didn't know if he was a clone. He was no longer certain one way or the other. And that was the most damning thing of all. He didn't know.
Maybe he would find the answer somewhere along this journey. Maybe he would know for sure eventually, one way or the other. Maybe in one of these hidden stashes, he would find the original Shiro hidden away, rescue him, bring him home. Or perhaps he would find incontrovertible proof that he was the original, and then he could breathe a sigh of relief and keep his promise to Lance.
Until that moment, he would keep searching.

VLD Season 2 Trailer
Ok because I love Voltron and am currently hyped up because of the trailer and I can’t wait for season 2 that’s in 15 days!!!! I have decided to analyze/look into the teaser and trailer. Why? Because I’m bored and I wanna see where this takes me. If you wanna discuss something with me then send me a message ^.^ (Even if it’s something I haven’t covered)
So let’s start with the teaser. You know the one. The one that wasn’t the trailer. The one they lead us to believe was the trailer. That one. XD
1) Shiro says if he doesn’t make it out of here he wants Keith to lead Voltron.
2) At the end of season 1, all the paladins are swept away separately by the worm hole to who knows where. I think the places they have ended up in the Teaser are right after this incident.
3) It seems like Hunk and Lance are together. Pidge seems to be alone. And perhaps Keith and Shiro ended up together because Keith is looking at the Black lion.
4) So this leads me to believe that Shiro and Keith ended up in the same place and they got into trouble. Shiro thinks he isn’t gonna make it and tells Keith that if he doesn’t then Keith should lead Voltron. (Idk how he comes up with that conclusion because they have only been presented to have a connection with certain people and there needs to be five people and if Keith takes over the Black lion...SOMEHOW.....then who the heck does Shiro think is gonna take the Red lion?)  So anyways, that’s the thing that I think will happen....you know...instead of Shiro dying, because he has a lot of potential and can’t really die yet....at least maybe not till the end of season 2.  Hunk and Lance are together in this underwater place....and Pidge is alone in a rocky area.
5) But when they are next seen, all five paladins and lions are together. Flying in space and different places and able to form Voltron.
6) Shiro is then shown to be looking at something, I believe while he is standing in the Castle of Lions. The things he is looking at seem to be rocks or crystals floating in space.
7) Then we see Zarkon and Haggar from behind. The Galra seem to be attacking the planet...and it looks like they are going to war.
8) Then we get a shot of Shiro looking....exhausted? Stressed? Losing hope?
9) AND THEN there is this guy that I forgot the name of....Ok it’s Thace. He is looking from around the corner, perhaps spying on someone. Is it Shiro? Zarkon? The other Galra soldiers? Who the frig knows. (I kinda think it’s Shiro because the shot before was of him...)
10) This is where things start getting...difficult. I think the Galra are attacking this one planet and maybe stealing the quintessence.... The paladins show up and attack....
11) Then we get a shot of Zarkon. It’s like he is....teleporting? I think it might actually be some mind connection thing because it only shows HIM and not the ship or anyone else...
12) There is this weird part where Allura is standing looking less than pleased with whoever is kneeling to her. At first I thought it was Coran because of the orange-ish hair but then I saw the armor and hands....
13) Then there is a new character shown...with a knife/dagger/sword thing and a mask. I think this is the person that was kneeling to Allura... A part of me has a theory but I’m not gonna talk about that here. This person’s hands are purple....Maybe Galra? Maybe....the one guy that helped them escape at the end of season 1? But I doubt it because of the hair.... So maybe it IS Coran but he is disguising himself as Galra? Like....I really have no clue...maybe it’s just a brand new character...
14) Now here is the thing I’m worried about and MAYBE it was edited just to freak us out but we get images of Hunk, Lance, Keith, and Pidge in the lions and them again before it shows Voltron and just....WHERE THE FRIG IS SHIRO!?!?! A part of me wants to say they edited him out to freak us all out but idk....
15) So now we get that haunting call from Keith asking if Shiro is there as we see Shiro walking away and into a light/towards a door.
So now onto the OFFICIAL TRAILER!!!
1) Ok I had several thoughts running through my mind but here is one that I quickly snuffed out. At first I thought Lance and Keith were the ones to be in the underwater city in the teaser. Looking back on it now, that is not the case. So wtf are they doing undressed? And it’s only them??? Like....beach episode????
2) So the trailer starts and we get a recap of season 1.
3) Zarkon tells Haggar that there is no place in the universe that he can’t see....Huh....That’s kinda new <_<
4) There are those crystal things again...You see them everywhere in the teaser...
5) “Set a course for Voltron” Ok...you wanna know what that makes me think? That he can only see certain parts of the universe because that is where Voltron is. So why is it that he hasn’t done this before? He just went by what anyone told him regarding seeing Voltron and then planned his attack. I think it has something to do with either quintessence, Shiro’s Galra arm, that newcomer, or uhh..the popular Galra Keith theory....
6) I think it’s Shiro though because he has been the focus, he has a Galra arm, and he is the leader of Voltron and has a connection with the Black paladin which is what Zarkon used to be. So both might have a connection to the Black lion and Shiro has heard voices in his head before. That was either from PTSD or maybe that Galra arm is more than just some fancy alien tech....(tracking device anyone?)
7) You bet Zarkon keeps finding you and knows how to track you down, SHIRO. I doubt its a coincidence that Shiro was the one to say this...
8) Pidge is all like “Idk how he found us but it wasn’t with normal instruments” LIKE...ARE YOU GUYS SEEING THIS PATTERN I AM SEEING?!?! XD
9) And Allura can’t find anything on the ship that might be a tracking device or something....
10) So yeah Lance and Keith are the only ones in towels and shorts like....did they really go to a beach? How come everyone else is clothed? (but seriously...that beach episode.... XD )
11) They keep focusing on that “Finding us” thing....Like...Pidge, Hunk.....you two are the tech geniuses here.....Why did neither of you guys even bother to question Shiro’s arm? What’s it made of? How did he get it? Does it have a tracking device? Why did they give him an arm with such great tech in the first place? etc, etc...
12) So yeah...last we saw the paladins they all were swept away in a worm hole, separated, apparently found each other, and now back together. Shiro is with them....at least that is good.... Bad things might happen at the end of the season though...
13) So they are standing on something near the end when Allura says they are always stronger together. First off....where are they? Reminds me of the Garrison a bit.... Second, well that sure wasn’t foreshadowing ANYTHING. Nope. Nothing. Nothing at all. <_<
14) Then we see Lance and Hunk in the underwater place. There is some person, not a paladin, maybe an alien, that placed their hand on a tree and it starts to light up....maybe they are helping Pidge? Shiro faces a ferocious looking alien creatures....
15) Here comes that “new character” again. WHO ARE YOU?!?! Allura didn’t look pleased with you in her sights and it says you are an ally but..... <_< I don’t trust you? At least not yet...
16) Keith helped this new person out...so that’s cool. I doubt it’s Coran anymore because well....Why the mask if its Keith, you know? And Keith and this new person fight together....
17) You know....this new person looks Galra...and I think has the body type of a female.....And just...Idk if the Galra Keith theory turns out to be true maybe this is someone he should have known? Like a sister? Mother? Future girlfriend? (if it IS a female anyways) But it just seems like Keith and this person have SOME kind of connection to each other, even if that connection is rivals, hatred, familial, romantic, platonic, etc, etc...
18) Now for one of the most interesting things about this trailer. Shiro and Zarkon. They look all spectral-y and surrounded by purple-ish light and tbh I think this is some mind connection with the Black Lion... I guess they are gonna fight over the connection for it so whichever person can control Voltron. Btw Shiro looks pissed o-o
Ok so yeah. Basically here are the more important/plot related things: - Voltron keeps being found by Zarkon through unknown means - The paladins are separated - New worlds, characters, allies, and enemies - Galra is up to something (as usual) - They find their way back and meet a newcomer - This newcomer and Keith might have a connection to each other - Team Voltron doesn’t understand how they keep being found - Something is gonna happen to Shiro - Zarkon and Shiro might have a battle of wits/determination/power for the Black Lion... -Lots of intense scenes, battles, and action -Beach episode when? o3o
- Most importantly, you wanna know what I saw? A complete lack of Matt Holt <_< XD
