They had a violent, coordinated people's revolution. Actually several. They kept trying and dying till one finally succeeded. They put the Aristocrats to death.

All the Aristocrats. Not just the bad ones. All of them. Even Marie Antoinette who was just a spoiled princess who quipped a stupid joke that got turned into revolutionary propaganda. She got disposal as well. Some people are just too dangerous to let live.

Because Aristocrats have babies! And those babies will network and rebuild Aristocracy and no Aristocracy may be allowed to exist if the people are to thrive.

That's why. Our Aristocrats don't want us getting Frenchy ideas.

Hello, Neil Gaiman. I am writing this letter of gratitude because I am in despair, but I am obliged to you. I am Russian, I live in a small town in the south of Russia, in the Caucasus. a month ago I turned 16, so now I am fully responsible for all my actions. I'm bisexual, which is now illegal. you understand what I mean, but I’m simply scared to write about such things. absolutely no one knows about this, and I have to hide every day. this is an unbearable burden, but I must say thank you. because your projects are what gives me life. you have no idea how much pleasure it was for me, at eight years old, to fearfully admire Mr. Bobinsky. when, at 14, I finally saved up money for the Russian edition of Good Omens, which I had to order via the Internet not directly, but through my friends, I was quietly delighted. it is worth paying tribute to: this edition is really good and very warms the soul, its design may not be filled with elegance with a golden border, but it is very homely, cozy and imbued with love for the work, this can be felt, even if the translation is not the best. and on the very first pages I felt something that I had never experienced, having problems with the nervous system and anxiety: I felt protected and happy. I felt complete. each line was a sip of life-giving water for me. let me be so bold but this book is perfect for me and it's hard to believe it wasn't written for me personally haha. like two pieces of a puzzle. I hold the book of Good Omens, and I cry almost every time because it feels good just to hold it in my hands. you shouldn’t put this next to fanaticism, it’s just personal happiness. sometimes I felt so safe with this book that I hugged it as I fell asleep. then I saved up to the translation of script book for the first season, and I must say that I am confused, because there are no deleted scenes in it with Crowley shopping or the opening of Aziraphale's bookstore and others, and this was not clear to me. and a month ago, on October 30, my cousin, who is like my own sister, gave me the original Good Omens for my birthday. can you imagine? in all of Russia she was able to find only one person who carried out such foreign orders (please forgive me, I have little understanding of this). so, in some ineffable way, a copy was delivered to me via America from Corgi Books, I think, 2014. soft cover and thin pages, of course, but I'm so happy. and I’m also grateful to myself, because I’ve been learning English since I was seven, and therefore I’m glad that I can read the original. oh, you should have seen with what rapture I waited for the release of the second season at three in the morning! and with what delight I watched it in English without subtitles, understanding what was happening. this is happiness. what I want to say is that you bring…indescribable happiness to my life. you give me strength, and I don’t give up. I cry every time I allow myself to dream that I am escaping from here. that I can meet you and say thank you in person with my stupid accent, not so much because of my native language, but because of the braces, hahaha. but I never stop dreaming about it, although even this is hard. thank you for everything. Y/n L/n is rarely seen walking the streets in public anymore, but that is changing following her recent breakup  from longtime love Charles Leclerc.

The 12-time Grammy winner was spotted out and about in Rome just one day after her release of her new single, Reckless, which reflects on her past relationship with the formula 1 driver.

L/n was joined by celebs friends Zendaya, Tom Holland, Sabrina Carpenter, Bella Hadid, and Alexa Demie for a night out at Shari Vari Play House in Vía de' Nari, Italy. 

The news of her breakup sent shockwaves on social media. Tweets and memes were made, with fans expressing their disbelief and grief

Rumors had already spread that Leclerc was seeing someone else the last few months of thosr relationship. L/n just made those rumors  official last night as she delivered a tribute to  Leclerc and his new girlfriend Australian Youtuber Lola Ransdell, sending the media to a frenzy. 

The “Karma” hitmaker opted for a dress from Mônot’s SS22 collection, a black dress with cutouts across the chest and stomach, leaving little fabric between L/n’s collarbone and lower waist.

People on twitter are already calling this “Y/n L/n’s Revenge Dress Era” .

The ultimate revenge dress is, of course, the off-the-shoulder black Christina Stambolian dress that Princess Diana wore while her former husband then-Prince Charles was admitting to an affair with current Queen Consort Camilla.

L/n kicked off her sold-out Eras Tour on March 17, and eagle-eyed fans noticed that Leclerc had been absent from her shows.

In case you're unfamiliar with the lore of YourShipName (portmanteau and couple name of L/n and Leclerc), you probably don't understand the distress caused by the news. For most, Leclerc is not even a household name, but for YourFandomsName, he's the titular Lover.

The Midnights singer and  f1 driver started dating in 2016. Fans speculate they met at the 2016 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix based on the lyrics of Reputation cut "Dress": "Flashback to when you met me / Your buzzcut and my hair bleached." Because, you guessed it, Leclerc sported a buzzcut and L/n’s hair was bleached.

At a secret session for Reputation, Leclerc reportedly told fans that the single "Gorgeous" was about her "angel boyfriend of one year." Other tracks off of Reputation like “Delicate," "Call It What You Want," and "King Of My Heart" are also thought to be about Leclerc.

Her next album, Lover, is also understood to be about Leclerc with songs like "Paper Rings," "Cornelia Street," "Daylight," and the titular "Lover."

During quarantine the couple started collaborating creatively. Leclerc surpassed his muse status and co-wrote Folklore tracks "Exile" and "Betty,"

 Evermore songs "Champagne Problems" and "Coney Island, and most recently, "Sweet Nothing" off Midnights. Other tracks on her most recent three albums canonically about Leclerc include: "Invisible String" and "Peace."

While they opted to remain very private about their romance, the couple was hit with a slew of engagement rumors throughout the course of their ill-fated romance.

"I'm aware people want to know about that side of things," Leclerc told GQ in 2018. "I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people."

L/n briefly touched on the privacy aspect of their relationship in her 2020 documentary, "Miss Americana."

"We decided together we wanted our relationship to be private," she said. "Even though [my public image in 2016] was really horrible, I was happy."

"But I wasn't happy in the way I was trained to be happy. It was happiness without anyone else's input. We were just... happy," the singer added.

No, but the Hunger Games did need the romance plotline. See, Snow got it all wrong for the cause of the districts' rebellion. He thought an act of love is entirely separate and different from an act of rebellion, that the two are mutually exclusive. But we saw even in Katniss' though process that the two are mixed. And for the districts, the two are the same thing. For seventy-four years they've been forced to watch their children, grandchildren, siblings, niblings, friends die in the Games or through exploitation, are told it's an honour for them to die for the Capitol and are not allowed to grieve. And then suddenly this girl comes up and plants her feet and says 'no'. She survives through illegal hunting, avoiding the miserable death via starvation or the terrible community home. She doesn't stand by to watch her sister die, she volunteers. She doesn't treat her friend's death as one of a tribute to the Capitol, but as the horrible killing of an innocent little girl who deserves to be memorialized. She thanks and humanizes another district's people. She gives another tribute a merciful death. She refuses to give up on the man she loves, repeatedly. Defying all sense and establishment.

That is rebellion, for the Districts. Love, loyalty, grief, kindness, mercy - they're all rebellious sentiments.

And romantic love is an integral part of that. Not the be all end all, but an intrinsic part. We see sisterhood with Prim, we see friendship with Rue and Finnick and Johanna (and Gale and Madge a little bit), we see mentorship and connection with Haymitch and Boggs, so of course we need the romantic angle with Peeta. Of course we need the dandelion that grows after the war, the dandelion that started it all through one act of kindness to the starving girl he loves.

Marian Anderson (February 27, 1897 – April 8, 1993) was an African-American opera singer and contralto. In 1939, after the Daughters of the American Revolution refused to allow Anderson to sing to an integrated audience in Washington, D.C, then First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and her husband President Franklin D. Roosevelt arranged for Anderson to perform an open-air concert on the Lincoln Memorial steps on Easter Sunday, April 9, 1939. She was able to deliver a critically acclaimed performance before an integrated crowd of more than 75,000 people, and a radio audience in the millions.

Summary: Wedding ceremony with an elder Yautja.

You knew your wedding will be different. 

You have seen many weddings throughout your time with the tribe, but all who got married were younglings. 

You were betrothed to an elder.

It was rather unusual for elders to get married so late. Usually by this time they would have taken a mate or multiple wives.

Not J'rik'au though.

It was as if he was waiting for you.

His status was shown by the respect he got from the others.

You have loved him from the moment you saw him. He was amongst the many who encouraged humans to join the Yautja world. Where they no longer hunted humans but joined forces.

Weddings were a good occasion for union.

But not many humans were willing to marry.

There were a few but not a lot.

However, as soon as you saw J'rik'au, you were done for.

He started courting you the traditional way not long after you and a couple other humans arrived to his tribe. While the other humans left, you never did.

You accepted his affection and soon, he asked you to become his wife.

And so, you were preparing for your wedding.

A very traditional Yautja wedding. Which you barely knew anything about, but you didn't care.

You knew he will have to prove himself to you as a worthy male through hunting.

So, for the last couple of days, he has been gone, looking for a worthy kill.

It was a very different wedding, but you liked it. You were waiting for him under a beautifully decorated gate.

You were fully dressed in a flowy material and your neck and shoulders were decorated with bones.

A female explained to you it was from your groom's previous kills. Assembled by him, as per tradition.

You asked her, how can you prove your worth to J'rik'au, after all, marriage had to be a two way street but she laughed. 

In Yautja society, the only thing a female, who is not a warrior, has to prove is gifting children, strong children to their mate.

What if you couldn't? Yautja didn't believe in such a thing.

And so, now, you were standing there, waiting for him and soon his ship landed. He was unhurt of course, and in his hand was a huge monster's head. You have never seen a head like that. It was huge so you could only imagine the size of the actual beast. He placed it in front of you as he knelt down. 

The fact that he was an elder didn't mean he was old. Not at all. His senses were still sharp and the fact that he came back from the hunt, unhurt was proof of that.

He did have a couple of cuts and bruises but mostly he was unhurt.

As you looked at him kneeling, you caught one of the females motioning for you to go to him.

J'rik'au was asking for your approval. Without it, he failed to prove his worth as a male. With it, he will be able to marry you. That is what the gate was for. For both of you to walk through it and start your lives together.

Of course, you accepted the kill.

Everyone around you cheered as you both walked your way to celebrate.

Weddings were very different but in a good way.

Celebration was also held, after all, their elder did find their mate. So, a great feast was planned. Everyone in the tribe paid tribute via gifts.

But you couldn't be happier.

A smile never left your face as he always held you close.

Traditionally, after the celebration, you two went back to your home. 

Now, with a brand new bed, covered in new furs, he laid you down.

It was Yautja custom, much like after human weddings for the couple to go on their honeymoon. The difference was that while people on Earth usually travelled, Yautja shut themselves into their homes with their mates.

This was not for the female to get pregnant, this was for the newly married couple to spend some time together. The tribe would provide food for them, so the male doesn't have to leave.

For them, this was to ensure that the couple is happy together and would have a fulfilling life together.

J'rik'au took really great care of you.

Even if this wasn't the first time the two of you had sex, this felt different. He was always caring and attentive, but now, he was even more so.

He didn't let you leave the bed, he carried you if you had somewhere to go in the house. 

J'rik'au proved that he would be an amazing husband even before you agreed to marry him.

And he was doing just that. Being an amazing husband.

Something that has stuck with me all day while watching the QSMP event is how close so many of the server members have become. There were so many times when someone would see something and immediately tear up, and whoever was with them would commiserate that they felt it too. There's a little beat of silence when Tina immediately cries upon seeing the Techno ofrenda and jokingly says she doesn't know why she's so emotional, but before she can be too self-deprecating, everyone chimes in saying they feel the same.

Charlie says, "it's just genuinely really sweet that this is here." Tina says how she wasn't expecting it. Mouse and Baghera having to walk off after putting down flowers because they got teary. Fit giving Techno's ofrenda a salute before quietly saying how he wished Phil was here to see it. Bagi and Etoiles wandering around and Etoiles goes a bit quiet when he sees it and explains to Bagi how he played with Techno before and how cool he was. Bagi says it's a beautiful tribute and then gets visibly emotional when Etoiles talks about how he knew him.

Bagi had never met an egg until now, but she was teary for a lot of the event. Tina only had so many interactions, same with Mouse, but everyone was totally understanding in them crying too. I just really love this server and everyone being able to read each other well enough to tell when someone needed to be told, 'Yes, I get this feeling too; we can be sad together for a few minutes,' or if they need a laugh to shake them out of that headspace. Charlie's voice drops when he talks to Mouse and Baghera at the memorial and when he explains who Techno is to Juanaflippa. You can hear Bad's voice breaking every once in a while, and he and Fit discussed how they weren't expecting the event to be like this, but it is so beautiful.

I'm just sad and rambling now, but I just love how these people from all over have met via this server, and even now, whether they're sad over fictional egg deaths or the real-life death of a colleague in some cases, they're not alone in their grief because everyone on this server just gets it.

6 Things I Learned from the Lisa Frankenstein Commentary

We don’t get movies like Lisa Franeknstein often, which is a shame because it’s endlessly charming yet delightfully twisted. While it disappointed at the box office, it has "cult classic" written all over it.

The coming-of-age horror-comedy is out today on Blu-ray and DVD. Among the special features is an audio commentary by Zelda Williams. Here are 6 things I learned…

1. Catch Me If You Can inspired the opening credit sequence.

The opening credit sequence, which briefly depicts the Creature's love story from his previous life in the style of Victorian shadow box art, was inspired by Catch Me If You Can.

"We wanted to do something interesting with the credits in this bit. I was really inspired by Catch Me If You Can, which I thought the opening credits were particularly interesting and helped establish the story before we ever got to it. And because Creature doesn't speak this whole movie, I wanted an opportunity to show what his life would have been like."

2. The film was originally intended to be rated R.

Although Lisa Frankenstein pushes the PG-13 rating as far as it can go, it was originally intended to be a hard R. Williams cites the party scene, in which Lisa originally smoked a laced joint rather than drinking a PCP cocktail, as a difficult revision.

"This is where stuff got a little complicated when we were going from R-rated to PG-13. Originally there was a coated joint they were passing around. This is one of the only scenes that I'm not sure I'm as fond of in comparison to the joint stuff. Most of the rest of the changes were fine, but this one I find very strange. It's just a very different reaction and interaction than what used to be there. However, these are the things that happen when making a movie."

3. Creature is an homage to Day of the Dead's Bub.

Not only Lisa is seen watching George A. Romero's Day of the Dead in the film, but the Creature is an homage to its iconic zombie, Bub.

"Creature for me is definitely an homage to Buster Keaton, but he's also an homage to the zombie you just saw on screen, Bub, who was in Day of the Dead, a Romero movie that I'm very fond of. It was an incredibly emotive and a very intelligent zombie and ended up getting revenge against the asshole in the movie. It was one of my favorite monsters ever made, so when I could put that on screen during the movie, it made me very happy."

4. Zelda hid a tribute to her father, Robin Williams.

Williams is the daughter of Robin Williams, and she included his 1983 comedy album, Throbbing Python of Love, among the records scattered on the floor in Lisa's living room.

"Oh, there's Dad! We used one of Dad's vinyl albums because we had to scatter some across the floor." She refers to it as "a little, mini Easter Egg for me."

5. The police officers are named after John Waters.

The police officers in the film are Officer John (played by Walker Babington) and Officer Waters (Sylvia Grace Crim) — named on a whim in honor of cult filmmaker, John Waters.

"They asked me to name the cops, because obviously they needed to have name tags, so I named them Officer John and Officer Waters." She thought no one would notice since they're so small, but a viewer pointed it out at a test screening.

6. The film is sprinkled with movie references.

Williams wore her influences on her sleeve with her directorial debut, and she pointed out several references on the commentary:

A Trip to the Moon (clip featured in Lisa's surreal dream sequence)

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (stylistic inspiration on the dream sequence)

Weird Science (the party scene)

Suspiria (red lighting during drug sequence)

My Boyfriend's Back (camera shot from inside a grave looking up at characters)

Kill Bill (weapon point-of-view shot)

E.T. (a boy on a bike — played by Diablo Cody's son — at the end)

Notting Hill (reading together on a bench at the end)

Lisa Frankenstein is available now on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital via Universal.

Putting her new lobe piercings to full effect in sparkling, tumbling diamonds. The most notable of which are the ones in her primary and secondary lobe spots from the De Beers 'Arpeggia' collection — a tribute to Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata". The falling of the diamonds meant to mimic the notes on a musical score. How fitting for Taylor!

By my eye, the original 'Three Line' of the De Beers earring is missing the floating huggie portion and a separate, single 'One Line' strand is used here in her second piercing.

Taylor's love of a helix cuff also continues here. A note that though she got three lobe piercings in August (two right, one left for a total of five lobe piercings) that it doesn't appear as though she has officially pierced her helix yet and has instead loved experimenting with cuffs on either sides of her ears.
