as cool as their design is im really starting to dislike the sonau in general, aside from their stuff suddendly being everywhere and everything being about them and how cool(tm) they are now with the mystery stone turning people into dragons and the similarities between the sonau and the three dragons (naydra, eldra, farodra) its actually not an impossibility that they used to be sonaus as alot of people have been theorizing about ..but ...... idk that would very much ruin their otherwordly yet ethereal mystery to me

the three dragons being some unexplained mystery, beings that are there yet few can see them, timeless, nigh untouchable, they dont act on anything, they dont talk, something about them has always made me look at them in awe; if it turned out they were just yet another cool(tm) sonau guy that ate a stone ... :/

The thing about the fandom headcanon that calls Pharma Ratchet's crazy ex and treats him like some sort of stalker or intrusion on Ratchet's love life (usually with Drift) is that

On one level, it's already annoying when a perfectly fine/interesting character is reduced to nothing but "bitter ex getting in the way of The Actual OTP" because it simplifies the character to only exist as a satellite to someone's ship (the bitter loser who can't let go/doesn't deserve person A/etc) instead of having their own life going on.

But when it comes to Pharma it's particularly annoying because it reduces Pharma to "the crazy stalker/bitter ex", framing Pharma as if he's the villain ruining Ratchet's life with his inability to just let go,

When in actual canon it was Ratchet who was best friends with Pharma their whole life (they're even shown together in the Functionist Universe). Ratchet who ditched Pharma with barely a word of goodbye (before Delphi, and ironically the same conversation where Pharma asked Ratchet if he should accept the station at Delphi). And it was Ratchet who asked Drift if he was scared of going into DJD territory as an ex-Decepticon, but treated Pharma like scum for killing patients under threat of being murdered by the DJD. And Ratchet who stole Pharma's hands. And Ratchet who tried to manipulate Pharma by using his deepest insecurities against him on Luna-1.

It's not like Pharma is some rando who Ratchet barely knew. They were BEST FRIENDS whose friendship was severed on a really messy note. Pharma has every right to be invested in a relationship/friendship that almost literally lasted he and Ratchet's entire life. It sucks when people implicitly treat Pharma as if he's obsessed and should just move on when the reality is that it was Ratchet who first terminated their relationship with no explanation or even a goodbye (pre Delphi) and then with leaving Pharma to die and then stealing his hands (post-Delphi). So is Pharma really "obsessed" or is he just understandably upset about being betrayed by the person who should've known and cared about him the most?

So like, it's really annoying when Ratchet has so many flaws in canon and questionable ways he treated Pharma, but the fandom just calls Pharma a crazy stalker ex as if Pharma is the freak who's overreacting and mentally insane while Ratchet is just some guy who was only minding his own business. To me it's not even a matter of shipping, it's just the fact that Ratchet DID handle his relationship with Pharma super fucking poorly. And I really wish more people in the fandom acknowledged that instead of framing Pharma as the evil/crazy/overly attached one for being upset about being ditched. Pharma has reasons to be pissed off and driven to get revenge on Ratchet, and even if his romantic feelings towards Ratchet might play somewhat of a role, Pharma is way more than just some stalker ex who's evil because he's crazy and wants Ratchet to be his boyfriend.

I mean Pharma literally says on the page that the reasons he's angry at Ratchet are for ruining his plans at Delphi and for stealing his hands. Even though Pharma-as-Adaptus orders Drift shot later in LL, it's not explicitly framed as some romantic jealousy and could also just as easily be construed as Pharma getting revenge for Drift cutting his hands off. I don't think Pharma ever even talks about or mentions Drift in the entire story. It's very clear that Pharma's beef/obsession with Ratchet is entirely between him and Ratchet and Drift is only a footnote in all of the reasons Pharma is pissed off.

the thing that made me feel better about the whole shitshow that was the mismanagement of Izzy's death was David's tweet of "fwiw there’s no version of this show that doesn’t include Izzy Hands" and in the midst of a lot of unhappy fan reactions, he also liked tweets referencing the fact that Buttons is a witch and what that must mean for Izzy's future, those things gave me, and many others, hope. but the thing is, he also said in an interview that this was the last time we will see Izzy alive, and it made me think, hmm, so then youd just bring him back to use him again huh? because what kind of a life is izzy gonna get to live if hes not actually alive? he's going to be used as some sort of plot device for one of the other characters, again, or even worse, be brought back as a joke of some sort, which, objectively i do think itd be funny if he was a zombie or something but like no one even acknowledges that fact, and they go about their lives as usual, yeah that would be funny, but once again it would be a shame for his character, which has shown the most growth out of anyone, to be boiled down to the role of a clown. He also could just show up in memories from when they were younger, to score cheap emotional responses from those fans that miss him, while also enabling us to gain further insight on Ed's character more than likely, so once again, using him. Even though i cant deny id be happy to see Con again, i think its going to be nearly impossible to do this in a way that isnt going to feel like a slap in the face, like a means of appeasement. it makes it quite obvious that even they knew Izzy had more to offer the show, if after killing him senselessly, they act like we are silly in thinking he wouldnt be brought back in a season 3, excuse me, are we supposed to take the death of a character seriously or not? because im watching your show and i watched you bury him, so that seems pretty final to me, but yes, the seagull landed on his cross, but guess what, i also read your interview where you said that magic doesnt exist in this world, yet now youre saying witches are real, so im really confused about if David really knows what he's talking about because he keeps contradicting himself, and honestly thats very scary when it comes to being able to successfully conclude this series...

Most of what we know about anything is through her! She’s such a big part of the lore/story side of the game this is so bizarre to me.

Drives me fucking crazy that Will Wood says in everything but the word Narcissist itself (TECHNICALLY He actually DOES use the word in an interpretable context) - describes in multiple, detailed, completely direct ways - that he has NPD or another Cluster B personality disorder, in every way he can possibly fucking RHYME WITH, and ableists will still say “oh he’s making FUN of those ppl he agrees with me im so sure!!!!”

He sings about his potential and past toxicity; the fact that he “admits when he’s wrong, but only to be right;” says in multiple songs that he has “flaws [only found] in the DSMV,” that he “is the main character,” “that first person they talk about,” “that perspective you cannot doubt,” that he will “control the narrative,” that he has a “superego,” "knows that [he's] the hero," how "two wrongs [make the right]" and then compares himself to a war hero as if equals or perhaps better, claims to be on a high horse, says he can't "imagine being an average human being," how people "have to like [him];" the list goes on forever in JUST "The Main Character" and "...and if I did, you deserved it," (which, by the way is a reference to blame shifting/lack of accountability, which are fucking symptoms!) ALONE, NOT TO MENTION his songs "Laplace's Angel" and "I, Me, Myself." in both of which he talks about being above others/above morality and explains in his lyric breakdown that I/Me/Myself is about how he used to pretend to be trans because he thought it would make more people like him (paraphrasing)

Yet STILL TODAY, DESPITE ALL OF THIS, I see bullshit about him being a voice for empaths, and shit like that, and how he makes fun of these people who deserve it!! He says HIMSELF that his songs are self-deprecating depictions of his OWN behaviors! i didn't wanna ramble too much off topic in that last post but shout out to tanaka for doing so much to integrate the first years into the team.

Like, it's not just the way he takes hinata under his wing or how he decides to help kagehina within minutes of meeting them, it's also how he's arguably the primary factor in showing kageyama how to be friends with his teammates via leading by example ie verbal encouragements and high fives and being supportive even outside the club like when he gets saeko to drive kageyama and hinata to the camp. it's how he goes out of his way to include tsukki in the team's celebrations and rituals and moments even when tsukki is actively trying not to. It's how he embodies team spirit and loyalty and how he shows them both how to be a great senpai and he in turn is a wonderful kohai to daichi and suga and asahi.

He's always so willing to stand up for everyone too, whether it's other teams bashing Karasuno or if he thinks his own team members are being disrespectful towards each other (that scene when he starts scolding tsukki for not being supportive enough of yamaguchi-or when he's ready to murder kageyama on noya's behalf), he's just the absolute best and i love him.

i will say that like, having actually read the comics, i know that the batfamily are all complex characters with equally complex histories. but a surface level reading of the bats like you would get from a fanfiction or a season of wfa? it will give you basically a bunch of blank slates. the base-level "guy who lost his parents and fights crime" gives you just enough tragedy to pretend the character you made up is also complex. now you have what is essentially a group of white guys you can play with like dolls. i think part of it is that these days people have no desire to actually do more than skim the surface of anything, but part of it is also just that the blander you keep the bats, the easier it is to write your #batfam fanfiction

#this also ties into the unpopularity (? maybe not the right word) of like. the arrowfam for example #a surface read of the arrows is just... not as simple as it is with the bats. there's addiction and tragedy and unsavoury backstories #and complicated family trees and mental illness. and of course connor and emi (and roy) are not white so they aren't as fun to play with #but also i think the arrowfam are more explicitly close devoted family in a less complicated way #whereas people decide the bats' complex relationships = not actually being family. so they can excuse incest shipping that way too #it really does all kind of tie back into lack of reading comprehension. lol #p #dc
