JKR. Ma'am. If you didn't want me to ship drarry why did you write all these darry & jily parallels?
This is almost verbatim what Draco says to Harry in their first meeting.
"Well, no one really knows until they get there, do they, but I know I’ll be in Slytherin, all our family have been — imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I’d leave, wouldn’t you?”
These parallels are absolutely intentional. (Tho presumably the point was to show that James was a bully. But JKR really didn't think thru these implications.) And then on the train just as Draco bullying Ron confirmed Harry's dislike of him, James bullying Snape confirms Lily's dislike.
Of course I would argue that James has a much greater penchant for cruelty and violence that Draco does and while he never became a Death Eater as a bully he was worse.
Also why tf does JKR think James is redeemable but Draco isn't even tho Draco canonically regretted his behavior and there's no direct evidence that James did?

I agree with you that unlike Harry, Louis does show us who he is ... but I'm over it. There's so much to do in and around Los Cabos, and he has unlimited funds for sightseeing, yet he's spending every day drinking in tourist bars. He hasn't even been to the beach.
Oh anon - you navigate the world however works best for you. To me it seems completely bonkers to judge a popstar based on where they take photos with fans.
Assuming that someone hasn't been to the beach, because you haven't seen photos of them at a beach seems like a epistemology with huge limitations. In addition, I can't imagine thinking that where a popstar went while in a city was so much my problem that I needed to tell someone else entirely about it.

wolfstar will always be that old couple that thinks all 70's pop culture is superior to anything new. they get so judged by hari who's decked out in a blur tshirt and baggy jeans and chunky cardigans and wears tracksuits when he's not exercising and has a growing cd collection. remus, to him, is so old and uncool other than his smoking habit and cardigans, and although sirius will always be the pinnacle of cool to him, he can't believe his godfather still wears flares and solely uses records and thinks some band called 't.rex' are better than nirvana.

no honestly did jean genuinely not realize that the car in the ocean was a suicide attempt?? did he really think harry was THAT drunk or was he willingly misinterpreting it so he could shift any sympathy away from harry? because i can absolutely see jean seeing it as a suicide attempt but deliberately choosing to frame it as an irresponsible accident resulting from harry's alcoholism, because that way no one will be like "oh shit harry tried to kill himself?" and they'd instead join jean in condemning harry for his addiction

People You May Know
For @drarrymicrofic prompt: follow.
@HarryPotter has requested to follow you.
Draco blinks at his phone, frowns, and then refreshes the page.
@HarryPotter has requested to follow you.
Fuck. Not a glitch, then.
Maybe it was a mistake. Maybe Potter doesn't know how to rescind a follow request. Maybe Draco showed up under 'People You May Know,' (or, more accurately, if you ask Draco, 'People You Don't Speak To Anymore But Instagram Knows You Have Their Number') and Potter clicked it by accident.
Or maybe not.
"Pansy?" Draco calls across their shared flat. "I need your help."

Robert and Beverly Clark have been married for almost four years. For the last five months, they’ve been trying to grow their family, but have been having an unusually difficult time conceiving. Their fertility doctor recommends trying IVF, but Beverly is deathly afraid of needles and is extremely squeamish. As one last natural method to help spare his wife of going through the trauma of IVF, Robert recommends they do something to take their minds off conceiving: a huge backyard renovation. A new patio and an in ground pool! As he does with everything, Robert knows the exact person to take on the job. His old friend and old across the street neighbor, Harry Styles of Styles Landscaping. Harry, who took over the business after his father passed away, is more than happy to do the renovation and offers to do it himself instead of sending his employees over, to save the Clarks a few bucks.
Robert and Beverly are a classic, suburban husband and wife living the “American Dream”, but not everything is always as it seems…

Percy Jackson as a franchise can be deeply problematic in some ways, but unlike Harry Potter's problematic elements it clearly comes from a place of Riordan trying (and sometimes failing) to make his stories diverse and inclusive and accessible for the majority of his readers rather than because he genuinely thought derogatory or stereotypical things about a historical event or any particular group of people

Unpopular take ig but TSSM Harry was not in fact a terrible person? Lol? Unlike the audience he has no idea why Peter keeps neglecting him, if anything it would be strange if that didn't affect their relationship. He is also a deeply insecure 16 year old, so having a phase where he selfishly places too much value on popularity is like. Par for the course. That's shit you'd find in any high school centric story. That's shit every other person has done irl at that age. The only actually heinous thing he's done was emotionally manipulating Gwen in that one scene at the end of S2 and that was literally part of the setup for his pending villain arc so uh. Moral decline was kind of the entire point there. People are pressed but he was serving the kind of complexity that originally made the supporting cast so memorable in the comics

Right. I'm in the rambling mood. So this post is probably going to be a whole load of nonsense, but fuck it I ball. I'm boutta yap to everyone about why I think Norman Osborn is a villain I can't sympathise with.
Let's start this by talking about villains I CAN sympathise with; Otto and Flint. I can sympathise with the other two because they have stories that make me feel empathetic. Flint wants to help his sick daughter, even if it's through illegal means. Otto had effectively a perfect life; a stable career and a loving wife, and he was doing what he enjoyed. When he loses it, it's bound to cause some empathy. Yes, his ambition is the cause of it all, but regardless, he lost practically everything.
With Norman, there's none of this. I don't feel any sort of sympathy. NWH's portrayal of him just makes it seem like his actions aren't his fault. In the Raimi Trilogy, the opposite is true. Norman wants the control, the power, but to accomplish that, he would taint his image. He doesn't want to taint his image because that would simply cause more problems. The serum simply just removed his inhibitions. Having had his inhibitions removed through the Goblin, he can do the things he wanted to do but without tainting his image. Norman lost nothing to achieve his goals.
But then you wonder, "Why didn't the same happen to Harry?"
It's because Harry had one goal in mind; kill Spider-man. He didn't want to harm anyone else, just him. Norman didn't care who he hurt, whereas Harry only wanted to harm Peter/Spidey.
Besides this, Norman was generally a bad father, too. That helps us sympathise much less.
Anyways, thanks for listening to me ramble, I had to get my thoughts out before I don't get any sleep ;-;

Nothing like a friendly little Quidditch match between mortal enemies!
I‘ve been rereading HP, currently on book 5, and man is Draco annoying. Like, I know fandom is obsessed with him, and I get why, but omg he‘s so infuriating. He‘s just a bully and a whimp and a racist and I want to punch him in the face. I want him to be Zuko so bad, you know, a character who acts like an asshole because of pad parenting and trauma and eventually gets redeemed, but Draco is just not that in canon. Maybe my opinion will change in the last two books, but currently I have come to the understanding that Fanon Draco is just a different person than Canon Draco. I love redemption arcs, but iirc correctly Draco never makes a choice to do literally anything except what is expected of him bc he‘s too scared to do anything else. I think this is what kept me immune from becoming a Draco fangirl as a kid. Back then I hadn‘t discovered fanfiction yet and canon Draco is just so fucking unlikable. (Just for the record, I totally get the obsession though, he‘s got a lot of fic potential)

What would happen if Sol regained control over Hollyleaf's body? Would he just peace out knowing Hollyleaf is capable of containing him to begin with and can and absolutely go scorched earth with him, or try for revenge? Also, what would you do if Sol DID reappear again but didn't become a main villain (like for example, if we found out he got adopted by a twoleg family for being so fail). Would Harry just take whatever fate canon tacked on, or what?
What would happen if Sol regained control?
It's less of a "scorched earth" kind of being than you might think. Harry is the one who loves sweet, sweet revenge. Sol's about games and having fun, and usually, dominating his opponent is part of that.
BOY does it haaaaaaaate that Fallenleaf is keeping it pent up though. If there's one thing that actually makes it mad, it's boredom. So if it took over, it would be very interested in crushing Fallenleaf so she never does it ever again.
Fallenleaf is smart enough to never want to find out what it would do. She's very careful about this.
(I like to think that her, Cinderheart, and Sol kinda have a Frodo/Samwise/Gollum kinda thing going on lmao)
What would you do if Canon!Sol reappeared?
I sure hope he does. I'll write some cool shit with it. I can't say for sure what I'd do because I need to see the whole arc before rewriting it, BUT in BB, Harry is currently out there extremely offended about Sol dumping him for a cooler vessel.
He wants that sweet, sweet power back. Wherever he is, it's constantly on his mind. He is obsessed with it. My man's drawing kitty vent art of how bad he wants Hollyleaf to die. He is blowing her up with his mind. If he's eating kibble he's grumbling into the crumbs. He's a maaaaad little boy.
So that's where he is, lmao. Whatever canon decides to do with him in the future, I plan for this characterization to play in. I hope we see him in the next arc!

also YEAH WOLFSTAR SHIPPERS WHO HATE ON HER ARE SO ANNOYING, last night I saw a slideshow on tiktok saying “your (Remus’s) new girl” with a pic of Dora and the other slide was “is my (Sirius’s) cousin” with a pic of Sirius. Like bae Sirius was never Remus’s girl, Dora was Remus’s only canon love interest. Period.
