Sasori: We ran into a dust storm on our way back. Their skin was coated in soot, so I deemed it necessary to have them clean themselves before we returned to the hideout.

Zetsu: *chuckles* “To the hideout”; who would have thought such a sentence possible several years ago?

Sasori: Mm. I’ll admit that I had my misgivings when Pein-sama voiced his desire that we all live together in a permanent residence, but, overall I believe it was a good choice. Apparently having a “home” to come back to and the promise of consistent meals has done everyone some good, mentally and physically. *points* Look at how much healthier those three look, for example. I can no longer count each of their ribs through their clothes.

Zetsu: I agree. Deidara especially. He seems so much more comfortable in his own skin, especially after you did that procedure for him.

*the two look down at Deidara, where the twin scars on his chest show as he splashes in the water*

Sasori: It was the least I could do. I know what it is, to feel as though you’re not in the right body. It’s why I turned myself into a puppet, after all. Helping him to look more the way he wanted to look … a small thing, compared to that smile he always has now.

Zetsu: He didn’t wish to cut his hair though?

Sasori: No; he adores his long hair. Spends forever taking care of it every night.

Zetsu: Mm. And the others have been supportive?

Sasori: Yes. Well, Hidan was his usual crude and tactless self at first. Told quite a few hurtful jokes. But I took him aside and helped him see the error of his ways.

Zetsu: Oh? How so?

Sasori: I simply told him that if the disrespect continued, I would wait until he fell asleep and give him a little “elective surgery” as well. In the end he decided he would like his penis to remain where it is, and NOT sewn onto his face.

Gaara is trans (ftm) but his father found the idea of a female jinchuriki uneccetable so he always called Gaara his son and Gaara was ok with that so he was always known as the second son of Rasa.

ok but what about a HS au where Deidara is a sophomore (15, almost 16) and Sasori is a senior (17, almost 18).

and they’re both part of a handful of students that get special permission to stay in the art room after school to work on projects. for Deidara, it would be him hanging around the kiln, creating/baking sculptures. for Sasori, putting together/painting puppets.

and other students come too so the room is never totally empty, it’s never just the two of them.

both of them more often than not listen to music while they work. Deidara has gigantic over-the-ear headphones that he blasts out whatever he’s into that week, and a lot of the time he dances around/sings to the music while he’s working.

Sasori has classical music playing over his AirPods, and the most he’ll do is quietly hum along to the music.

one day Sasori forgets his earbuds at home and like usual he’s in the art room after school. but today it’s just him and Deidara. he doesn’t really know Deidara outside of seeing him in this room and hearing the teacher say his name a few times.

and Deidara is singing and dancing to his music, like always. singing quite loudly. something Sasori could block out before with his own earbuds but not today.

he tries and tries to ignore it, but Deidara’s singing is getting louder, and he’s continually bumping into the empty tables and chairs and eventually Sasori calmly taps him on the shoulder, waits for him to take off the headphones, and asks, politely, for him to quiet down.

and Deidara

just

launches into a tirade about how it’s a free country, music is his way of expressing himself, this is the only time of day that he truly looks forward to, maybe Sasori should take the stick out of his ass and put it back on to his “creepy dolls” where it belongs, he’s not even being THAT loud and if Sasori has a problem with it then don’t come in here anymore, nobody else has ever bitched about this and Deidara’s not about to stop his “creative process” for some short redheaded asshole, even if he IS a senior.

and then he puts his headphones back on and continues to sing and dance and work on his weird little sculptures as if the previous “conversation” didn’t happen.

and Sasori stares open-mouthed at his back for a few minutes.

briefly considers taking paint that he’s using to give his puppets’ faces a flesh-tone and dumping it into the blonde’s hair.

then smiles and goes back to work in his corner of the room.

before the end of the afternoon he’s going to ask this guy out.

he spends the next hour thinking of places for them to go.

had a whole other thing to go into about them trying to go to prom together but the school refuses to allow a same sex couple so instead they hold their own “prom” in Sasori’s grandmothers basement and invite Kakuzu and Hidan, Itachi and Kisame and Konan and Nagato (Nagato is trans ftm) but 🤷🏽‍♀️ another time perhaps

Gets very angsty at times, understandably so, as the MC gets thrown headfirst into several moral crises and being around Orochimaru is not exactly conducive to staying a 'good' person. I reread this one about once a year usually. WARNING: ENDS ON A MASSIVE CLIFFHANGER AND HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED SINCE 2019.

HI im the anon from before about Sweet Vertigo!! THANK YOU, the new chapter is so wonderful, I'm obsessed with Hidan's raccoon - It has the same name as my cousins dog weirdly enough. I'm not usually that big on a/b/o dynamics from any more than a trans viewpoint on gender, so I really like how you portray it really lowkey, like its just something the characters deal with in day to day life. But ah, I'm so glad to hear this because funny enough, I'm not huge into a/b/o myself (no offense to anyone, it's fine, just can get old quick) but when I saw my OTP had NONE??? I was like okay, fine. I will do this for the people. I was prepared for a lot of backlash! (Especially with the mpreg element) But most people have been lovely about it so far 😊

It was important to me for it to be a bit understated with the omegaverse stuff, for consent to be important, to show that these people have lives outside of a/b/o dynamics. Of course I'm still using a lot of the tropes, but perhaps a bit watered down. At the end of the day it's a slow burn. They can't just be banging the whole time 😅

Anyhow, now that I've rambled a fair bit, thank you for the wonderful feedback! I really appreciate it ❤ I am slow with writing but stay tuned, more to come!

Chapter 1: Surprise Guest

Obito didn't really believe it when he was told so by Zetsu. He'd been away from Amegakure and these two for a while now, preparing his plans as usual. Nagato and Konan seemed to have things in control when he left so he had no reason to believe anything contrary to his plan would happen. 

And yet Zetsu told him that Nagato was spending less time inside of his control device, more time with Konan. He didn't think the blue haired woman, who hated his guts, would be strong willed enough to channel that hate into anything that would interfere with his vision. Nagato was deep in his pit of despair and anger, although anger had calmed down a bit now, so he thought there was no way he'd be talked into anything by her. So he sent Zetsu away, telling him to notify him when something actually interesting happened.

A few months later, Zetsu returned.

“What is it now?”

“... You're not going to like this... I told you something was up.”

“Just tell me. Please. No "I told you". What is it?? Are they going on dates now, are they having pillow fights and watching soaps??”

“... You've been there? What am I of use for then?”

“What? For real?”

“Yeah.”

“... And this is a threat to my plans?”

“I thought you needed him depressed and in despair.”

“Yeah well I doubt some romance with Miss Flowerhead will get him out of there. I mean Yahiko's-”

“Alive. That's what I've been trying to say.”

“What?”
