What is your opinion on the books hinting that Moon shouldn't have existed but the Faz-pads most expensive menu items is moon themed? And the posters, plushies, and the infamous sphere? I loved your other 'rant' (for lack of a better term in my sleep deprived mind) and it got me thinking...
Tumblr media
I’m guessing you mean the Moon that appears in The Bobbiedots who was originally built to be the “dark side” of Sun and once worked as a theatre animatronic?
Okay spoilers for The Bobbiedots, Somniphobia and Security Breach and some rambling thoughts ahead:
In short, I think the books’ canon (even from one book to another like say Bobbiedots and Somniphobia) and the games’ canon are more like AUs of each other than anything else, so basically different explanations will be given in different stories to fit that book or game in particular. So, Bobbiedots Moon wasn’t meant to exist in the daycare, but it looks like Security Breach Moon was. That said, I LOVE exploring the different versions of Moon and how he’s used in different stories, so if anyone wants to take the long scenic route with me, here we go!
Bobbiedots Moon
Theatre kid extraordinaire. A little too committed to the bit. Bobbiedots Moon doesn’t fit in his world - not in the daycare anyway. In The Bobbiedots, they’re busy dealing with an evil apartment. They don’t have time for poor Moon, no matter how badly he wants them to sleep.
Bobbiedots Moon feels like a bit of a throwback to the animatronics in Sister Location who had all these “interesting” design choices, like a stomach hatch for storing children (which totally wasn’t going to be used for evil, come on guys …).
In Moon’s case, he’s so good at being a pantomime villain (which is what he was made for from what we can tell - who bets he got booed because the kids wanted the sun to come back up and when the lights went out they’d fake snore and he’d go hunting down the naughty ones who couldn’t help but laugh?) that he’s no good in the daycare (personally I think the staff just weren’t imaginative enough in that universe to do naptime, or to appreciate the charm of a weird clown telling off wobbling toys for not sleeping when his recognition sensors inevitably failed him because they couldn’t be bothered to fix their broken animatronics). And he’s easy to exploit because he’s so committed to his role.
I don’t think Moon was evil by default when he worked at the theatre - at least not beyond his villainous role. He had an audience of probably more people than he could grab, and I’m guessing Freddy’s wanted repeat performances so their customers would keep coming back. Did he kidnap a child or two when the lights went out and everyone was confused? Maybe, if he was virus-riddled enough. Did he become a lot more unstable when he and Sun were moved to the daycare? Probably, but it’s not his fault he was an afterthought in a cheapo organisation that seems to think using precariously-placed backup generators is a better solution to their problems.
Security Breach Moon
Meanwhile, the Security Breach version of Moon has a TON of merch, a dish at the restaurant (Masa-Moondrop curry, yum! 💖 By the way, I totally recommend checking out this recipe ), and even his own little candy adverts. He’s on a statue, balloons, plushies, and even on the daycare pass right next to Sun. It would take a LOT of accidental advertising to put Moon all over the place if he wasn’t supposed to exist in Security Breach.
I think that, unlike the Bobbiedots Moon, Security Breach Moon was supposed to exist. Like you said, he’s got merch everywhere. It’s a big deal. And Moon’s merch matches all of Sun’s merch, so to me it makes sense that in the backstory of the game’s universe they both had a friendly role to play (I can’t imagine why they’d make a Moon plush with no one to hug him. The thought makes me sad. It also seems like a bad business move on their part so I’m opting to believe he was originally meant to be a friend to the kids).
But it looks like things took a turn at some point (as they so often do in the FNAF universe), as Security Breach also has the cheapo lighting in place, and Sun is pretty adamant that we don’t wake up Moon. And in this case it’s pretty clear that Moon has been infected by the Afton virus. He sounds like a bot with just one thing on his mind: putting you to bed at all costs.
Moon is a major player as far as the evil Afton operation goes in the game too. They picked a perfect bot to do their dirty work. He’s super strong - he knocked out Freddy and dragged him away with no problems. He’s also super agile - he can navigate all the tight twists and turns in the Daycare with relative ease (I pointedly ignore the version in my game while I make this statement as he seemed to spend most of his time getting stuck in the tunnels and slides kekeke). And he always seems to know where you are - the Glamrocks wander until they have you in their sights, but Moon makes a beeline for you the moment he can get his hands on you even if you’re inside Freddy’s stomach compartment. He works in the dark when no one can see him coming. He’s basically the perfect replacement for the night staff and makes it a million times easier to capture wayward kids.
There are also a lot of hints in the game that suggest that Security Breach Moon might have actually been reprogrammed to respond this way, and/or that he was used to reprogram the others.
Tumblr media
The back areas with the endos are FULL of Moon merch, advertising, and so on. There are also a lot of posters teaching the animatronic endos how to behave, as well as a little room that looks a LOT like a little replica of the daycare play area. I’m pretty sure that this is where the animatronics (or at least the virus-riddled endos) were reprogrammed to capture children - maybe including Moon.
Tumblr media
(There are a million things I could say about this poster and how it bears a strong resemblance to a bunch of things from earlier games but that’s for another time and another ramble …)
Somniphobia Moon
Meanwhile, over in Somniphobia, we have Moondrop’s dream sphere, where Moon ponders his orb, or perhaps his new friends who are now trapped inside it forever since it seems like he’s been stealing more than a few souls over there.
The dream sphere is not mentioned in The Bobbiedots or seen in Security Breach as far as I can tell. Whether it exists or not in those universes is open to interpretation, but it serves a clever purpose in Somniphobia. In this book, our favourite uncanny night jester spends his time luring unsuspecting victims into the dreamscape slowly without them realising. The protagonist actually has a few opportunities to escape the pull of the orb, but he just can’t put the dream sphere down because it takes him back to his favourite memories with his (now dead) father, and it makes their time together feel so real.
The dream sphere is advertised as a study guide, and it’s popular with older kids and teens. (Moon has the range). Our regular chase-you-down-and-force-you-to-sleep Moon is nowhere to be found in Somniphobia (whether he exists at the plex in the daycare or anywhere else in that universe is anybody’s guess) and instead we have sweet little Moondrop from the dream sphere who doesn’t speak but will let you see your wildest dreams. At the cost of your mind, which is now going to live in a sphere I guess or be harvested.
Can you befriend the little Moondrop from the dream sphere? Does he know he’s part of a creepy soul-stealing operation? The book doesn’t really say, but if he’s anything like most of the other animatronic/AI characters in the FNAF universe, I’d be willing to wager he’s just doing his job (showing people what they want to see) and being used as a prop for more nefarious soul-snatching schemes. (Curse you Fazbear Entertainment for giving us this funny little guy in a magic snowglobe and making him steal our souls along with our hearts!)
Conclusion
Essentially, I think Moon is being used in basically all the universes he appears in because he’s so perfectly built for capturing and retrieving wayward souls, but the way he’s being used differs a little between universes. In some universes it’s just not as convenient to have him showing up in front of a large audience thanks to his programming, but when the lights inevitably go out he has a tendency to show up nonetheless!

Something I think I’ve only seen someone mention maybe once or twice how Solomon is handling being in the past.
He is incredibly close to Simeon, Asmo, Luke none of which remember him. And the only one who does, Barbatos, hates him.
Solomon, Simeon and Luke are very close, spending their time in the devildom living together. It’s obvious being forgotten by them would hurt, even if he doesn’t acknowledged it. Even now, as Simeon doesn’t remember him he’s trusting him with a big secret—one even at the start of the second season we don’t know.
The nature of Solomon and Asmo’s relationship is up to you, lovers, friends with benefits, or really good friends. Regardless of what you think, they’re very close and their relationship is obviously very important to Solomon. Solomon has previously never mentioned why or how he made a pact with Asmo but he’s mentioned it twice now. Clearly he’s thinking about his relationship and history with Asmo. It’s something he’s been thinking of and he misses his close relationship with Asmo. It’s why even after mentioning how potentially dangerous it could be forging a pact with Asmo right now, he still does it. He misses having that connection with Asmo.
And Barbatos, oooooh Barbatos.
These two have a long history, how far back we’re not sure but it’s fairly reasonable to think it was before he was immortal. Solomon summoned him on the verge of death, and then Barbatos nurses him back to health. Barbatos also gives him his title of Witty Sorcerer, one he’s very proud of. They were close even before Barbatos became Diavolo’s butler and seem to have a father-son like relationship, or at the very least a familiar relationship. Barbatos speaks very highly of him in the OG, saying he trusts him completely and speaks proudly of his intelligence. Which struck me as odd at first because he’s never been the type to speak so openly about his feelings or Solomon. He even goes on to talk about how they met to amplify how highly he thinks of him. Barbatos trusts Solomon wholeheartedly and completely, the fact he hates him so much in NB most definitely hurts Solomon a lot.
Tumblr media
The worst is he doesn’t even know why. What did past him do to make someone who loved and trusted him so much hate him? Whatever is was, it was something he never did.
So you can imagine how upsetting that is that someone you love and care about all of a sudden hates you for some unknown reason and you have no idea what happened—you didn’t even do it.
Fortunately it seems that Barbatos is warming back up to him, he (in a roundabout way) expresses concern for both Solomon’s mental and physical wellbeing after sending MC to help the brothers while hungover.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Lesson 18-A)
I know the main story won’t ever address the emotional implications of their main gag but it would still be nice to see how the people he’s closest forgotten (or hating in Barbatos’s case) him affects Solomon.
But he has 13 still and while on the surface their relationship seems troubled, it’s obvious she cares about him. And Im sure it brings him great relief that even thrown years in the past and probably an alternate reality she and him have the same relationship. One where he can take refuge in her home and she’ll complain and demand he leave but never actually push him to.

Quiet
For the STWG Daily Prompt today! This one is a little roundabout, but I just wanted to write some of the boys being goofy little besties!!!
-----
“Class, this is Dustin Henderson. He just moved here all the way from Arizona, isn’t that interesting?” Mrs. Wren said, gently nudging the boy further to the front of the room and giving him a soft smile, “Dustin, why don’t you tell us about yourself a little?”
Dustin looked like he would rather eat raw goat brains, and Mike couldn’t blame him. If Dustin was a kid who looked like Jimmy or Troy, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, but Dustin was a chubby short kid with a shock of wild curly hair and two missing front teeth. His shirt was black with a picture of a microscope with the words ‘Enjoy the little things’ underneath it, and he was wearing a wide brim hat with Einstein's theory of relativity stamped on it.
The new kid was a total nerd, and Mike’s heart went out to him.
“I moved here from Flagstaff. Um that’s a city in Arizona-” Dustin started to mumble, his eyes firmly on his shoes.
“Wow. We thought it was in Canada,” Troy interrupted with a mean little laugh.
A twitter went around the class, which was completely stupid in Mike’s opinion. It wasn’t even a funny joke, just something mean to say, and it made Dustin cringed back like he had been physically hit, his shoulder curling inward as he reached up to tug at the brim of his cap.
“Shut up, Troy,” Mike said without really thinking. He kind of wished he could take it back when Troy’s entire desk clump turned to him with murder in their eyes, but the tiny grateful look Dustin shot up at him made it worth it. Sort of.
“Boys,” Mrs. Wren droned, calling them both out even though Mike hadn’t done anything but defend Dustin when she should have. She sighed and shook her head, turning back to their newest student, keeping him on the pyre when she could have just let him go free.
“What was your favorite part of Flagstaff, Dustin?”
“I really liked going hiking with my dad,” Dustin answered, slightly perking up, “There’s this mountain called Humphrey’s Peak by us, it’s the biggest mountain in Arizona and it’s the start of the San Francisco peaks! There’s these lizards there called Gila Monsters, they’re the only venomous lizards in North America, and-”
Mike was leaning forward, drawn in by curiosity about the strange creatures, but oddly enough Dustin cut himself off with a sudden jolt, going back to his curled up turtle position from before. Their teacher waited for a second more before sighing again and adjusting the papers on her desk.
“Well, we don’t have much in the way of lizards here in Hawkins, but hopefully your classmates will help you to explore some of the local wildlife. We’re going to have some silent reading time now students, so take out your books. Dustin do you need me to help you pick one?” She asked, finally cutting him loose.
“No I’m okay,” Dustin said as he scurried to his seat, immediately opening his backpack and digging in it, conveniently not looking up at any of the boys near him. He pulled out a huge book, burying his face in it effectively cutting off any attempt to catch his eye.
Maybe he just needed another push. Mike was still pretty curious about those monsters.
“I’m Mike,” He offered.
“My name is Lucas,” Lucas added, catching what Mike was thinking immediately and following through like always.
“I’m Will, it’s nice to meet you,” Will rounded off, holding out his hand for Dustin to shake.
“Hi,” Dustin said shortly, still nestled tightly into his book.
Mike’s brow furrowed, and he looked away from Dustin to his friends, seeing if they had a plan. Lucas shrugged, and Will turned his face down to where he was secretly doodling under the book their teacher had assigned him. They were both just giving in that easily, which was just not acceptable.
Not when the prospect of information on a giant lizard was at their fingertips.
“What are you reading?” Mike tried again, still not willing to admit defeat.
“Oh this is Blackmoor. It’s a rule book,” Dustin explained, holding the book so they could see the front cover picture of a huge castle on a tall rock and a smaller picture of a wizard. Will was instantly intrigued by the wizard, leaning into Dustin’s space to point at the title above the castle.
“What’s Dungeons and Dragons?”
It was like a switch flipped. Dustin’s eyes lit up and he put the book flat on the desk so they could see inside, giving them all an eager little grin as he scooted his chair closer to the desks.
“It’s this super cool thing where you make up characters and adventures and use dice to decide what happens. My character is a bard who has a flute that can put people to sleep and this badass dagger!” Dustin exclaimed, pulling out a notebook so they could see a rudimentary drawing of a man holding a knife and a flute. Mike was sure Will could’ve done a much better version, but it was still pretty awesome. But Dustin wasn’t done, pulling out a tiny figurine and putting it in the middle of their desks.
“The game has got all these monsters like a mimic that pretends to be a treasure chest and this one is called the demogorgon-”
And then it was just over. Dustin jolted back, snatching his hand back like it had been caught in a cookie jar and pulling his hat practically over his eyes.
“I mean, it’s just a game,” Dustin murmured, playing with his fingers and tucking his chin to his chest.
Damn! Again! Now Mike was getting pissed.
“Why do you keep doing that?” Mike asked, frustrated that twice he had missed out on something fun.
“What?” Dustin replied, looking confused.
“Start talking about something cool and then cut yourself off right in the middle,” Lucas explained, already aware of what was annoying Mike. That was why they were best friends- Lucas just always seemed to know what was bugging him, “It’s weird.”
Weird was apparently the wrong word to use. All of the joy in the air instantly vanished, and Dustin’s shoulders were at his ears. Mike shot Lucas a tiny glare, the two of them having a silent argument as Dustin gathered up the courage to explain.
“Oh, um…My dad told me that I should try to be quieter if I wanted to make friends,” Dustin whispered, his cheeks beet red as he stammered out the words, “He um- he said it’s uh rude, you know? To not to let other people talk once in a while?”
Ouch.
Mike’s chest instantly seized up, and he looked down at his own desk, his copy of Tuck Everlasting staring back up at him. A quick sneak peek up at Lucas and Will revealed that they were doing the same, Will’s lip caught firmly between his teeth and Lucas’s mouth in a thin straight line.
It wasn’t exactly the same, but all three of them knew what it was like to be told to be quiet. They knew how hard it could be to have everything you love ridiculed or talked down to. Usually it was Troy or Jimmy or some of the other boys in their class doing it though, not their own parents.
“Tell us about the demogorgon,” Mike declared, speaking for all three. Judging by the looks he was being given not only by Lucas and Will, but also by Dustin, he had said the exact right thing.

Do you think we can get a little snippet of shigaraki and spinners drunken conversation about mc? 🫣
Ummm, YESSS?!?!
(Side note, this ended up being a lot more poignant and plot-relevant then I expected so I'll probably clean it up a bit and make it an official half chapter or something.)
Tumblr media
“She’s too good for me.”
“That’s true.”
“She should be with Mirio.”
“Oh fuck that!”
“No, she should!”
“Shigaraki.”
Iguchi and Shigaraki laid on the floor, bodies in different directions but heads side by side. They’d long abandoned their controllers, their drivers stuck against a fence and parked in a patch of grass mid-Moo Moo Meadows respectively, as they became far too engrossed in their conversation and intoxication to proceed. If Iguchi had been still holding his controller though, he would’ve promptly thrown it at his friend for the way he was talking.
“It’s true, it’s true! They have so much more in common!” Shigaraki whined, genuinely whined.
“Like what?” Iguchi demanded.
“They both swim. They both have muscles. They’re both pretty…”
“All superficial stuff, man—”
“—and their brains aren’t all fucked.”
“Have you seen the way she laughs during horror movies? I don’t know if that’s entirely true.”
“I’m fucking serious, Spinner. You know me. You know I’m never gonna get better. Not really.”
Iguchi frowned. Because that wasn’t true. He’d seen such amazing improvement from Shigaraki in the last couple months, such a vast development of care, self-awareness, and empathy. He’d come a long long way.
But also, it wasn’t entirely untrue either.
There was something fundamentally broken inside of Tomura Shigaraki. Something that went beyond the warped way he’d been raised and lessons he’d been taught, beyond the abuse and trauma he’d suffered as a child. This was something that had to do with the way he was wired, the way he was born and how he felt things. Iguchi was similar in a lot of ways. And it took a certain level of medical intervention and SSRI’s to get him to a point where he could even start to function. He’d needed serious help, Shigaraki needed serious help.
Iguchi couldn’t say any of that to him though. He couldn’t recommend therapy or medication or support groups, it’d all be rejected, just as it had been many times before. Because even if Shigaraki wanted it, that was a help that All for One would never allow him to find.
So, Iguchi back-tracked to a more fixable problem.
“You’ve said it yourself, Shigaraki. They’re not right together. He stifles her,” Iguchi said, “Even if she’s trying to make things work with Mirio right now, it’s not gonna last forever. She’s a smart person, she’ll know to throw in the towel eventually.”
Shigaraki snorted, “And then what?”
“And then you make your move.”
He shook his head, “No. No even if they break up, I don’t think I can.”
“What’re you, stupid?!” Iguchi demanded, the vodka redbulls shoving his fuzzy irritation to the forefront, “Why the hell wouldn’t you give it an actual try then?!”
“Cause she’s too fucking good for me!” Shigaraki drunkenly wailed.
Iguchi groaned, sitting up so he could take a LARGE gulp of his drink. Shigaraki often made him feel like he needed a drink, but he was testing his nerves now more than ever with this woe as me schtick. Especially since he knew that Shigaraki was gonna pursue her in some stupidly roundabout way anyway.
“She deserves someone healthy. Someone who’s not gonna hurt her,” he turned to look up at Iguchi then, “You should date her.”
Iguchi choked on his drink.
“W-What?! Me?!” he coughed and sputtered.
“Yeah. You guys have way more in common anyway. You like to game and workout. Your parents are both normal, but like, weird, you know?” Shigaraki looked back down to the carpet at his eye level, getting to the real point, “And you’d be good for each other. To each other. Better than I’ve ever been to either of you.”
“That could never happen.”
“Nah, nah, I think she’d go for you! You may be ugly, but she doesn’t care about stuff like that.”
“Dick! That’s not what I meant!” Iguchi snapped with an angry blush, wondering if he should even bother to comfort this bastard after saying something like that.
But then Shigaraki looked up at him with that childlike curiosity of his, and Iguchi couldn’t help but continue.
“I mean that I’d never do that to you. And neither would she.”
Shigaraki snorted, “Why? I’d do it to you.”
Iguchi cocked a brow at him.
“You sure about that?”
Shigaraki’s eyes narrowed, in a way that was clearly meant to be challenging, but was really more poutlike in his whiney drunken state.
When Iguchi didn’t back down like he expected, Shigaraki just rolled over onto his side with some grumpy grumbling of something like “you don’t know. You don’t know what I’d do.”
Iguchi just chuckled and grabbed Shigaraki’s solo cup, filling it with water this time rather than vodka.
“...I’m gonna miss those skirts of hers when she goes to college.”
“She wears skirts in her day to day too, doesn’t she?” Iguchi asked, waving the cup in front of Shigaraki’s face.
“They’re not the same,” Shigaraki whined, leaning forward to take a sniff, shaking his head when he smelt the lack of alcohol, “They should make those skirts mandatory at Todai!”
Iguchi nudged him with it insistently, “Yeah. Yeah they should.”
“I’ll get Sensei to do something about it!”
“If you remember to do that after this, I’ll wear one of those skirts.”

*Spirit The Bounty Hunter* What Karma Do Your Spirit Guides Hand Out To Your Enemies? 🤺🧿🚑

• pile one •
who are your enemies?
a lot of your enemies are extremely immature, and i feel like the conflict that they cause is through being passive aggressive or petty in some way. they don’t think before they speak and they also try to cover up the way that they truly feel about things, while showing how they actually feel about something in a very roundabout way. a lot of your enemies have higher levels of narcissistic traits. maybe they’re even diagnosed with a personality disorder or a mental illness that narcissistic behaviour can be a symptom of, for a small number of you - or they would be if they actually self reflected and realised that they think and behave far from normally 🙃. i feel like the karma for a lot of these people is actually you. the universe made you guys cross paths because you were the one who was supposed to shatter their illusion of themselves. these people could continuously be surrounded by people who praise them or condone them. “yes men”, i’m hearing. i’m seeing that you guys are the types to call people out on their shit. because why shouldn’t you when they’re negatively affecting you and/or other people with their bullshit that you shouldn’t have to put up with? and they try to punish you for that. i feel like they’re usually met with a side to you that they haven’t seen before though, and that intimidates them to a very high degree. they don’t expect the switch up in personality or behaviour from you.
their karma for their bs
these enemies’ karma is that they experience major endings in life. usually in an extremely painful way - mentally painful most of all. a lot of them face a betrayal that they never saw coming. betrayal from people who they could have chosen or prioritised over you. it’s impossible for them to get out of this tower moment unless they face the truth like they need to and unless they choose to make a complete change in their life. that’s why so many of them are plagued with this karma for such a long time. because they refuse to acknowledge that they’ve manipulated the truth enough, causing nothing but harm and the continuation of bad behaviour. I’m hearing that for a lot of them they’re actually forced into starting life as they know it completely over in terms of what they think, what they value, what they say, etc. But this is like literal torture to them. They could feel oppressed after fucking with you. It’s like your guides are wrapping strong binds around their crown chakra, throat chakra, and root chakra specifically. The breaking of their family’s generational curses are significant in the ending of this karma too, as an aspect of shadow work. The realisation that they can’t “win” whatever conflict they’re in with you also forces them to realise that they’re having to “flee” or avoid this situation in some type of way, doing a lot of damage to their ego. i heard that they realise that they’re not untouchable.
• pile two •
who are your enemies?
your enemies could be people who are really disillusioned by money and the material world. i’m seeing someone having tunnel vision when it comes to making money and gaining materialism, to the point where they’re actually extremely lonely. they see the physical world as the most important aspect of life and they could even use people for some type of physical gain. these people could also prioritise their external image and/or appearance to cover up their internal, emotional, and mental issues. they could also be quite naive and gullible when it comes to new relationships and friendships. i feel like these people could also put others on a pedestal for some reason. they’re also very judgemental - especially of what others look like as well as other people’s relationships and connections (which is so fucking ironic because their’s is always a damn mess 😂). they focus more energy into creating judgement about others instead of making judgements on who THEY truly are. these people project all the time. they ignore the truth and reality of what’s presented to them if it’s not a truth that they like. i’m picking up on a lot of emotional manipulation from these people.
their karma for their bs
their karma always begins with people losing interest in them. i’m seeing someone competing for attention but all of their efforts being futile. someone else who’s much more respected and cared for comes along and knocks these people off of their “throne” and their high horse. i’m hearing “permanent damage to reputation”. i feel like things that they keep hidden or even a secret eventually come out, and they have to answer to many different people for their actions. maybe even give out many apologies. i’m seeing them being overwhelmed with judgement from others funnily enough. and i’m also hearing “societal judgement”. i’m picking up on community shame. you know how people used to throw tomatoes and shit at someone who was shamed in public, centuries ago? 😂 they’re forced to realise that they had people fucked up with the way that they judged and treated people before. i feel like a lot of these people are exposed for being hypocrites too. they feel defeated by the end of all of this and there’s nothing that they can do about it. especially from all of the connections that they permanently lose - particularly with authority figures or people who just have a high status. their reputation is thoroughly ruined. they shouldn’t have fucked with you, pile 2 👀.
• pile three •
who are your enemies?
hi, pile three! your enemies are those who made you feel as though you weren’t a priority for them. they didn’t value you as much as they did other people because you were different to them. this could be in terms of something to do with your identity (gender, age, race, sexuality, etc.). so this could have been someone who you had a different gender, race, nationality, religion, or sexuality to. discriminatory beliefs held on their part could have played a part in any behaviours of devaluation from this person. overall, they just didn’t value you as much as they did other people in their life. or as much as they did themselves in a situation. you ended up protecting yourself because these people were blocking your blessings in many ways. they could have been draining energetically, and i’m feeling like they were always looking for you to bring balance to their life whenever they needed it. giving very much user energy. you stopped letting them use you though and they got angry and upset like the energy vampires they are 😂. these people also cling onto their egos as a way to avoid having to hear and acknowledge the truth about themselves. they try to control things too much. these people don’t like internally changing and becoming self aware because they don’t like admitting that they’re wrong for doing something. they have very fragile egos and can’t handle anything that brings them out of their comfort zone. they could feel chronic shame and low self esteem which they use their egos to cover up. these people are extremely emotionally immature and emotionally dysregulated, considering the extents that they’ll go to to not admit “defeat” (in their minds).
their karma for their bs
their karma is that they eventually reach a point in their lives where people don’t show them love as much as they did before. if you resonate with the message above about having them use you for balance in their lives, the lack of balance that ensues after you leave their lives really affects their other relationships and connections with people. they feel neglected from care and nurture. they also feel like they’re restricted in expressing how they feel to others too, perhaps because they surround themselves with much more surface level friendships and connections, unlike whatever type of connection that they had with you - yet they still prioritised these people over you like fucking dummies. i’m seeing them wanting to send a message to you but knowing that they’d face rejection. they could even start facing rejection from everyone else because them trying to replace you as their emotional nurturer or free therapist by forcing emotional offloading onto the same people that they chose over you never works out well for them. serves them right. they’re forced to be more dedicated to logic than emotions, and as a result of this, their pent up emotions come out in the form of harsh communication. they don’t think before they speak with the people around them anymore because they’re forced to hold onto their own emotional burdens now. this comes out in passive aggressive communication for them. maybe this is why people stop giving them as much love as before. they’re forced to learn self control and i’m hearing “more respect”. maybe they used their feelings about things as an excuse to disrespect people in the past, but they’re forced to actually focus on self accountability and self responsibility now. they’re forced to control how they speak to people and how they treat people. also to focus on making connections with others much more balanced. and i feel like these people don’t like balance. they like to take and not give much in return.

your enemies are people who seem to be reserved with most of what they actually think about you, but i feel like these are people who are surprised at your ability to still recognise what they actually think of you or what they have planned. they could have dealt with “foot in mouth” syndrome and accidentally exposed themselves when they didn’t mean to. they fear you and what you know - specifically what you know that you don’t speak of. probably about them. they feel caught up in a bind with something. they’re very cowardly and they could have tried to actively flee a situation and escape from having to answer for something. i’m also hearing that they could also be an opportunist. these are the types of people to not like you but still stick around for the opportunities or benefits that you bring. whatever they tried to get away with, you saw it clearly and they ran from the consequences (or tried to). they tried to gain control over whatever situation they felt exposed in. i’m even seeing that they tried to control your growth in some way, or whatever you were doing in life in an unsuspecting, sneaky, sabotaging way. they’re people in daily life who struggle to keep themselves balanced and in control of their basic responsibilities.
their karma for their bs
i’m hearing “capped”. their stability and comfort is capped in some way. they have to slow down with whatever they’re trying to build or attain in their own lives which leaves them feeling extremely behind in life. i’m also hearing that they’re weighed down by other people’s expectations - particularly by their family. perhaps their father or a masculine/bossy/father figure in their lives. they’re forced to settle for building something with someone who they’re not entirely happy with. they’re forced to commit to something that they feel holds them back and slows them down in life. and i’m even hearing “faking happiness”. it’s like they have to wear a mask and cover up every aspect of their genuine self for the sake of a partnership with someone else that they’re having to invest into something with. and i’m hearing that they “get in over their heads” with something or someone. idk if this is some type of contract, or living situation, or relationship that they find themselves in - but they don’t even feel mature or ready enough for this situation. they want their freedom with something but they feel like they’re having to live their lives more maturely than they’re ready for because of their rash decisions.

I’m too tired to go too deep into detail on this one but here’s my Kingdom Hearts 4 theory that I want to put out into the world.
The nameless star and the girl we see in the Verum Rex trailer aren’t actually the same person. It’s a red herring.
Yozora takes clear inspiration from Noctis from FFXV (e.g. the scene of Yozora in the car that’s shot-for-shot a scene from an early trailer with Yozora replacing Noctis).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And while many think that’s because Nomura is using ideas he never got to bring to life when he worked on Versus XIII, aka “Beta FFXV”, before the project moved on without him, I think it’s less that and more to do with Nomura’s feelings in letting go of his characters and letting someone else write their story.
I think Yozora is the answer to the question “What if Noctis knew that his story was so far removed from what was originally planned? What if he knew his fate was changed?” (Put a pin in that, because there’s more to this question.)
Anyway, we all saw the nameless star for the first time and... Okay, well, a lot of us thought it was Strelitzia at first and that Square Enix North America (henceforth SENA) had just put romantic dialogue somewhere that wasn’t supposed to be romantic and accidentally made Marluxia sound like Strelitzia’s love interest. (Wouldn’t be the first time that happened in KH3. Thank you SENA.) But once we saw more of her and Yozora in Melody of Memory and Re:Mind respectively, we all realized she was from the same place Yozora was from, and we all thought about the only girl we know who’s from Verum Rex and we all just...
...assumed.
But we haven’t seen the nameless star’s face. And we haven’t heard Verum Rex girl’s voice. So we don’t actually have any confirmation that they’re the same person.
So here’s my suggestion.
Verum Rex girl is Luna in this equation.
Tumblr media
And Nameless Star is Stella, the girl who was originally going to be Noct’s love interest back when FFXV was Versus XIII.
Tumblr media
We meet Nameless Star in what is essentially Kingdom Hearts Purgatory. But she’s from a fictional world. Fictional characters can’t die. Not in the way we know it. I can pop Into the Spider-Verse into my DVD player, hit play, and boom, there’s Uncle Aaron, alive. You can’t do that with real people.
But if a character is written out of a story, they’re gone forever. That, I propose to you, is true death for a fictional character, which is why Nameless Star is hanging out with dead people. And she’s lost everything. Her whole identity. Her name. And the person she loves doesn’t remember her. Because she’s not part of his story anymore.
Yozora also says that the way he looks isn’t what he really looks like. A lot of people have taken that to be the start of an explanation for why he looks like Riku, and it still might be in some roundabout way, but I propose to you that he’s been redesigned, and he’s aware of it.
So here’s the core of what this all means, why it’s relevant.
Kingdom Hearts loves its parallels, yeah?
So here’s what I propose to you.
Sora’s story is also, as we speak, being rewritten. At least in a sense.
Sora sees Riku’s light, and twenty minutes later, it’s apparently Kairi’s light.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sora saves seven hearts, including Riku’s, and three hours later, he’s only saved six, and Kairi’s heart is the seventh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Somehow or another, Yozora found out about what happened to him, and, due to some trial or another, also found out what is currently happening to Sora. And he wants to save Sora from suffering his fate.
I don’t think there’s any hope for Yozora himself. He is, after all, the night sky, what could have happened if Sora’s story got the “bad end”, so to speak.
But I do think he can “save Sora.”
So here’s the rest of that question.
What if Noctis knew that his story was so far removed from what was originally planned? What if he knew his fate was changed?
And what if he saw the same thing happening to Sora, a kid destined to have a queer love story but forced into a romance with a girl by a greater power instead, and refused to let that slide?

They finally have a true and proper heart to heart. It’s completed with sitting down in Wayne’s new apartment, Eddie bringing over cookies that Steve had made. It kind of makes him feel like they’re the two little old women who used to live in the trailer across from them — bickering and bitching about anything and everything over a cup of tea. But they have the heart to heart, because things have finally settled, and for once, they have time.
He didn’t really know where to start. Eddie doesn’t really know when Wayne had started slipping out of his life, or when Eddie had started pulling away, but he knows that it definitely started way before everything that happened with Vecna. Maybe it started when he fell off his bike, when his mother didn’t show.
(“How am I even meant to start?” Eddie asks Steve, watches as he shapes the little handfuls of cookie dough on the tray. “There’s just— so much.”
Steve hums, and stops his hands for a second, wipes them down on his apron. “Well, you know I like lists,” He points in the vague direction of where their first sticky note has been framed on the mantle. “They help me look at things from a different point of view. Make things that seem overwhelming and suffocating into something smaller. More manageable.”
He turns back to the cookies after giving Eddie a small smile. Eddie thinks he likes this domestic aspect of their relationship. Where they can now stay at home on days that are too cold or too hot, and not have to worry about the things that they used to. Now, it’s just them, living and breathing within each other’s space.
“Help me?” Eddie asks.
“Always.” Steve answers).
And so, they had made a list. It had rationalised it in Eddie’s mind, had let him make headings and subheadings, how to move from one subject to the other, how to prepare himself and what he wanted to say.
The Upside Down.
Steve.
Eddie’s mum.
It’s not a long list, but it still feels daunting. They should be easy, quick, enough to talk about, and yet. Steve had said that’s how he felt when he was trying to fix things. Making a list that only held three or four items — items that by themselves would be fine, that combined, made his teeth hurt in a way that spelt trouble.
Eddie knows that he’s probably not supposed to tell Wayne about the Upside Down, what with the letters and legal notes that he had to sign, but when he had admitted it to Steve, had said that it hurt to keep it a secret, Steve had just held his hand, had said if you trust him, as if it were even a question.
“You know that story that went around about the serial killer, and Steve and I—”
“The one that was very obviously a cover story?” Wayne snorts, takes a sip from his mug. This time, it’s one that Steve had made at one of the pottery classes out of town. It’s smooth to the touch, with a green glaze along the edges, ants and frogs and spiders in a cute-simple style littered across it. Wayne will never admit it, not to his face, but it’s his favourite.
“Yeah.” Eddie says. He knew that people didn’t really believe it (as someone who didn’t really buy it, himself), but hearing Wayne say that it was so obviously fake, and to know that he never questioned Eddie about it? Well. It’s definitely something to process.
“So, you’re ready to tell me about,” He waves his hand in a roundabout movement. “Whatever happened to you two?”
He pauses. Tries to think of a way to delicately say, I fought monsters, and monsters killed those teenagers, and my boyfriend can bend time. But there isn’t one. There isn’t a manual that dictates how to approach any of those topics. So Eddie does what he does best, and pulls the bandaid off as fast as he can.
“Monsters.” Eddie spits. “And time travel?”
“Kid, please tell me you’re pulling my leg.”
“Not joking. At all.”
And then, the gates are open. Eddie talks about his point of view — hearing the sounds of the monsters every year but not really understanding the gravity of the situation. He talks about Chrissy coming over to buy, and how she had stood still, and how she had floated. Skips over the details, because, while he’s getting better at not feeling sick about it, not feeling guilty about it, he doesn’t think she should be remembered that way.
He talks about running. Hiding. How the group had found him, how he had been chased by Jason, how he had seen Patrick die. Wayne keeps his gaze the entire time, but he doesn’t interrupt or say anything, because Eddie is still really only at the start of his story, at the start of it all. So he keeps going. Max, the kids, the gate. Lover’s Lake, Steve’s change in demeanour, Vecna, the battle, the monsters.
“So that’s why they moved us out? Set us up in this place?” Wayne asks, nods his head to his side, to the apartment walls.
“Because of one of the gates, yeah.” Eddie says, feels his leg bouncing up and down. Wayne holds onto himself like a man lost, and Eddie supposes that he is, right now.
“But you two are — you’re safe, now?”
“Yes.” Eddie replies. Realises that he means it. “We’re still — working through it. There were a few things that we figured out, after everything had happened. You’ve seen some of Steve’s scars, so. I’m sure you know.”
Wayne nods, and his eyes look misty. “You boys are happy, though. I can see it whenever you talk about him, or whenever he talks about you. It’s— I’m happy for you, Ed. Proud of you. I know I never said it when you was young, but. I’ve never been anything but proud of you.”
“Don’t make me cry just yet,” Eddie jokes, brings his sleeves over his hands to wipe at the corners of his eyes. “We, uh, Steve helped me make a list. ‘Cause, you know how I called to have a heart to heart, and then I wouldn’t say what about, because there’s kind of— a lot. Like, a lot, a lot.”
He nods, and he smiles, and there is a fondness in Wayne’s eyes when Eddie mentions Steve.
“I don’t think I ever officially said it, but, well. You know about us already.”
Wayne nods, but says: “If you want to say it, you can. I won’t take that away from you.”
Eddie breathes in. He knows that Wayne won’t act any different, won’t look at him weird or say anything that would hurt. Wayne went to their housewarming, and had seen the way they looked at each other, held hands. They had dinners over at Wayne’s place every couple of weeks, and Steve would greet him with a warm hug. There is love between the three of them, and it makes Eddie wonder why he never really, truly, told Wayne about Steve.
“We’re dating. I love him.”
Wayne nods, and he smiles, and he had said it before, Eddie had heard him say it not only a few moment ago, but now he can see it in his uncle’s eyes: the pride.
“He’s a good kid — Steve. Now, you better treat each other right, because I do care about the both of you, and I don’t want to see anyone getting hurt.” He breathes out and reaches towards the platter of cookies between them, now, almost gone. “And ask him to make more of these, will you?”
Eddie smiles and says yes, sir, because he knows that Wayne hates being called sir. He makes a face at the title, and then Eddie smiles like he’s been caught doing something bad, and Wayne just remarks making me feel ancient, over here. And nothing changes.
The tea has gone lukewarm, but Eddie still holds the mug between his hands, just so that he can grab onto something. Because those were the easy ones. Because Wayne hadn’t been a part of them.
“Um, and I wanted to talk about my mum.”
Wayne’s smile pauses, and Eddie can see the way that it crumbles from his position on the couch. In his mind, he’s already trying to find a way to backtrack, and smooth the conversation over, try and point it back towards Steve, and how that seemed to make Wayne happy, and how they’re going good, and how much he loves him, instead of—
“What about her?”
“Why did she—” He tilts his head, and moves his hands, and makes a small noise to try and convey everything and nothing that she had given him. That she had done to him.
Wayne simmers down, and he folds in on himself in a way that Eddie has seen before on Steve. Trying to make himself smaller, trying to make himself seem less imposing, or terrifying, looking for comfort and forgiveness. Forgiveness for what? He hadn’t done anything wrong.
“I don’t know.” Wayne says, quiet. “I tried to talk to her about everything, when it happened the first time. But she would never listen. I know I wasn’t the best growing up, and I’m sorry, Eddie. Sorry that I couldn’t just— make her go away. That I just let her keep coming back and raising your hopes up, only for to— to leave.”
None of it is his fault, though. Or, maybe it was, but Eddie doesn’t see it that way. Wayne wasn’t the one to leave, Wayne wasn’t the one to break promises, Wayne wasn’t the one to tell him to be quiet, and pretend to love him, and then never return a call, and then love-bomb him the next time they met. That was on her. Not Wayne.
“That’s not your fault—”
“Eddie—”
“—And even if it was, I’m not going to— to blame you for it! We were in a shit situation, and there was so much stuff going on, even before the monsters, and the night shifts, and I know I wasn’t an easy kid to take care of—”
“You were wonderful, Ed, I couldn’t have asked for a kid so kind—”
“—but there was nothing you could have done to make me feel more loved!” Eddie breathed. The noiselessness of the apartment seemed so loud, now. Wayne sits across from him, leaned forward on the couch, hands by his sides. He wipes at his eyes with the edge of his sleeve, and he looks Wayne in the eye, because he needs him to know.
He needed Wayne to understand that there was no one else that he would have wanted, no one else he would have loved as much. He went above and beyond in every possible way, even when Eddie was making it difficult, even when he was being difficult to love, Wayne had still done it. Wayne had still loved him.
“You were there.” Eddie whispered. “Every day. Even when I was acting like an asshole, and taking out my anger for her on you, or when I kept fucking everything up. You were there.”
Wayne stood from the couch, crossed to where Eddie was sitting. He knew it was coming before the arms had even wrapped around him, and yet when it happened, when he felt how warm Wayne was, how soft and firm and comforting his hold was, he let his tears run. Eddie closed his eyes as tight as he possibly could, and he tried to imbed his hands into the back of Wayne’s shirt. And when Eddie had felt that noise make it’s way up his throat — loud and ugly and so very human, he let it.

A3! Promotion Event Translation - Haunted Western-style House (6/9)
Tumblr media
*Please read disclaimer on blog; default name set as Izumi
---
Kazunari: Holy moly. The opening line to get in stretches forever!
Tsumugi: Look, Masumi-kun. There are a lot of couples.
Masumi: You’re right… there’s no mistake about it. This is a date spot.
Tumblr media
Izumi: Great work, everyone.
Masumi: You’ve worked hard too, Director.
Izumi: As it was explained to me, the guides outside just have to maintain the lines and usher the visitors inside the mansion on time.
Juza: Got it.
Izumi: For the guides inside the mansion, once the visitors are inside, they’ll split into two groups and each group will be lead halfway through each route.
Mausmi: No problem.
Izumi: Alright then. Good luck, everyone!
Troupe members: Yeah!
Tumblr media
Kazunari: Massu and I are starting off in the mansion, so let’s get moving~!
Masumi: Let’s go. Alright. I’ll be off, Director.
Izumi: Yep, take care. We’ll be counting on you two as the guides inside the mansion this morning!
Masumi: Leave it to me.
Kazunari: I’ll guide everyone perfectly, just like the mansion’s owner!
-pause-
Announcement: We apologize for keeping you waiting… We are now open…
Izumi: (It started…!)
Juza: Welcome to the Horror House. Please form two lines.
Tumblr media
Visitor A: Wow, that’s awesome! Even the staff members fit the theme!
Visitor B: All their outfits are different. I wonder if they match the setting of this Horror House?
Tsuzuru: Please wait here for a moment until we invite you inside.
Izumi: (Their calm tone of voice and slow manner of speaking…) (It must be due to their costumes. Their roundabout way of speaking sounds typical of a horror house. Or rather, they speak like they’re acting out the roles of their costumes.)
Kumon: Thank you for your patience. We will guide all the visitors up to here into the mansion.
Tsumugi: The owner of the mansion is very much looking forward to meeting you… now then, please come inside…
-pause-
Tsumugi: I will be excusing myself now. I hope all of you return safely.
Tumblr media
-pause-
Kazunari: Welcome to my humble mansion. My, my. It appears my friends are welcoming you as well.
Tumblr media
Visitor D: Woah, it’s a ghost!
Visitor A: Eek, for real!
Visitor B: It’s see-through. Is it real…?
Masumi: (This is a ghost…? I didn’t think we’d get to see one so fast.)
Tumblr media
Visitor C: Look closer. Isn’t it a projection?
Visitor D: Ah, you don’t say. I guess it’s a projection.
Kazunari: Hahaha. Now, now. I, this home’s owner, shall guide this group of guests from here. Let us head to the second floor…
Masumi: …I, the chief butler, shall guide the remaining guests. This building has a somewhat complex structure. Please follow behind me as to not get separated.
-pause-
Masumi: I will be leading you up to here. Please proceed from here on your own… …Once again, do be careful.
Tumblr media
Visitor A: S-scary.
Visitor B: The chief butler’s expression sent a shiver down my spine.
Masumi: …
-pause-
Tsumugi: Great work, Masumi-kun. Is your break over?
Masumi: I’m done. Are you and Tsuzuru still guiding everyone outside?
Tsuzuru: Yeah. Juza just went for his break a moment ago. We’ll be taking care of this area until it’s our break time.
Tumblr media
Masumi: I see.
Minato: *Sigh*. Kaname-chan, your hair and outfit both look so cute today… Could it be? Did you dress up for me?
Kaname: Huh? Not particularly…
Minato: I’m so happy. Ah, that reminds me. You made cookies for school the other day, right? I’d love for you to make some for me next time.
Kaname: Even though I’m not that good at baking?
Minato: I’d like to eat anything you make.
Kaname: R-really? If I feel like it then…
Tsuzuru: Is it just me or does that student… kind of sound like Masumi in the past?
Tsumugi: Ahaha… I suppose you can say they’re similar.
Masumi: Ha? We’re not alike at all.
Tumblr media
-pause-
Tsumugi: Please wait a little longer.
Tumblr media
Student A: Aren’t we gonna go in next?
Student B: I’m so nervous~.
Kaname: Me too…
Minato: Hold hands with me, Kaname-chan! It won’t be as scary that way. Also, I’d like to hold your hand.
Kaname: Huh? …T-that’s a bit…
Minato: Ahh… I get it. Sorry about that.
Masumi: …
-pause-
Minato: Um, excuse me…
Tsuzuru: What’s the matter?
Tumblr media
Minato: I’d like to buy a drink, so can I leave from here…?
Tsuzuru: Yes, go ahead. If your friends are still in line, you can come back and join them.
Minato: Thanks… *sigh*.
Masumi: …
Tsumugi: Are you worried about that boy, Masumi-kun?
Masumi: I wouldn’t say that…
Tsumugi: If you’re worried, then why don’t you try talking to him? You can leave this area to Tsuzuru-kun and I. There’s still some time before the next wave.
Masumi: …Okay. I’ll just take a quick look.
-pause-
Minato: *Sigh*…
Masumi: (He’s crouching down over there…) Hey, are you okay?
Tumblr media
Minato: Ah, sorry… I’m not feeling unwell. Don’t worry about it.
Masumi: …Did something happen then? You were sighing earlier.
Minato: Huh? Ah, you saw that, huh… No, it’s not a big deal or anything, but…

curry confessions
Fandom: Pokémon Sword & Shield
Pairing: Hop x Victor (and a smidge of onesided Bede → Victor)
Word count: 1580
Summary: Victor spends Valentine's day with Hop. Shenanigans ensue and confessions happen.
Notes: First fanfic I wrote for the ship! And I also first wrote it before I even finished playing the epilogue, so I had fun taking liberties and doing a vague fast-forward. This was one of the many brainbugs I had when playing the main story back in January/February, and by now Valentine’s day is very off-season, but it is what it is. Enjoy the silly fluff!
~
Victor patiently answers every question the reporter asks of him. At least, outwardly, he seems patient and approachable; after all, being the Champion came with certain expectations. He’s still getting used to having so much spotlight on him but tries his best to be a good public face.
Though, being faced with a question about having a special someone on Valentine’s Day — while his crush is right by his side, and they’re spending the day together — is kind of cutting it. The reporter meanwhile, doesn’t seem so happy with his roundabout answer that having a rival is special, isn’t it? But, well, right now he isn’t quite ready to answer directly.
In the corner of his vision, he sees Hop cross his arms and step forward. “Alright, that’s enough. Victor needs to rest up after his match,” he says firmly. “And you should really learn how to be less rude if you want to keep interviewing him.”
Victor smiles, thinking back to a very similar scene at the Rose of the Rondelands hotel after the Semifinals of the Champion Cup. Truthfully, the questions then were as weirdly timed as the question just now, but Hop stepping in to shoo her off gave him Butterfree in his belly back then.
It does just the same now.
The TV crew reluctantly walks off, mumbling words of apology, and Victor turns toward his best friend and true rival. “Thanks, Hop.”
Hop huffs, likely still miffed at the reporter, and resumes his typical pose — hands in pockets, relaxed forward slouch. “Someone has to make sure you don’t burn yourself out, Vic. I can tell when you're overwhelmed, and I haven’t forgotten how rude they’ve been before.”
Victor laughs softly. He can’t help it — not when Hop looks so cute, not when the Butterfree flutter in his belly. Hop’s bright smile returns at his laughter, which doesn’t help the situation.
But before either of them gets another word out, a voice sounds from a pace away. “I didn’t know you’re the Champion’s bodyguard nowadays, Hop. Becoming a Professor isn’t turning out well?”
And just like that, Hop’s frown returns. “And what do you want now?”
“I was going to speak to Victor,” Bede says, joining them with his partner Hatterene close behind. “Surely that’s allowed?”
It’s Victor’s turn now to step in, putting a hand on Hop’s shoulder and shooting him a calming smile before turning for Bede. “What’s the matter, Bede?”
“I want to thank you for joining me today. A special occasion called for a special exhibition match,” Bede says. “Though obviously, I let you win because it simply wouldn’t do to sully the Champion’s winning streak.”
“You’ve been saying that line since way back in the Galar Mines,” Victor says dryly. “It gets old, you know. And I already have more than enough of your league cards.”
“I wasn’t going to hand you one.” Bede huffs and waves a signal toward Hatterene. “Rather, have this.”
Victor looks at the item offered to him — a suspiciously pink and frilly box, with what looks like handmade chocolates inside, and is lost for words. “Uh…”
Hop leans forward to inspect the box, quick to react as ever. “Hold on, those aren’t Valentine’s chocolates, are they?” There’s an edge in his voice that Victor tries not to read too much into.
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Bede says, glaring at Hop. “The girls and I made these for the festivities and we had far too many leftovers to let them go to waste. Share them with your Pokémon or use them for your curries, for all I care.”
Victor takes the box, offering a hesitant smile. “Well, thanks, Bede. I’m sure my Pokémon will like them.”
Something flashes in Bede’s eyes, but he turns around before Victor can be sure it’s not just a trick of the light. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a Gym to look after. I’ll see you next time.”
Once Bede disappeared through the back door, Victor turns toward Hop again. He really tries not to read too much into Hop’s frown. His fingers tingle with nerves over his plans to confess his feelings later.
“He’s got a crush on you, mate,” Hop says.
“You think so?” Victor frowns, putting the chocolates in his bag. “How are you so sure about that?”
“Just look at how flustered he got. And when you said thanks and smiled, you could practically see him sparkle. He only turned around to cover that up.”
“I don’t think that argument counts, you beam at me whenever I compliment you, Hop,” Victor argues. He doesn’t know what he’s doing, but he keeps talking anyway. “And besides, I like someone… but it sure isn’t Bede, so tough luck for him.”
Hop’s mouth gapes open in surprise. “Wait, what? Who is it?”
But instead of answering the question, Victor turns for the changing room. “Anyway, I’m gonna get changed out of my uniform, and then let’s get going. We made a promise to go camping in the Wild Area together, remember?”
Thankfully, Hop agrees, the topic dropped for now. Whether he’ll still have the nerves to say something later, Victor will have to see.
~
They set up camp on top of Hammerlocke Hills. Sure, it was a bit of a trip to get there from Ballonlea, but the view with the Wild Area spread out before them, Motostoke in the distance, is rewarding. It’s calming, and a lot less nerve-wracking than the moody lighting in Glimwood Tangle would be for a camp location. Though Victor is more or less calm now, Hop seems awfully distracted. Not a good thing in the middle of cooking curry, especially when Victor hoped to impress his best friend slash crush with the most delicious curry ever.
“Slow down, Hop,” he says when the pot threatens to spill over.
“Ugh, I know, mate.” Hop groans in frustration. “I just can't stop thinking about earlier.”
“Oh.”
Hop’s face now is highly focused, gaze firmly on the pot while stirring to avoid looking at him, which is both adorable and a little concerning. “I’m miffed that Bede gave you chocolates, and I’m miffed that you said it doesn’t count as an argument because my face lights up when you compliment me. And I’m dying to know who it is you’ve got a crush on.”
Victor’s heart beats faster. Could it be…?
“You’re not jealous, are you?”
“Of Bede? Yeah. I sure am.”
“Oh.”
“I wanted to impress you with everything I’ve learned in my studies and had all these obscure love-related Pokémon facts at the ready, but now that jerk of all people beat me to giving you a gift and threw me off my game, and I almost ruined our curry too.”
“Well, that’s funny because I really wanted to impress you with my cooking skills. So you almost threw me off my game here.”
“Ugh, sorry,” Hop says, then gasps and finally meets his gaze again, eyes wide, mouth agape. “Wait, what?”
“I wanted to impress you with the most delicious Spicy Apple Curry ever,” Victor repeats. “And about what I said earlier, about your argument not counting…”
“It so counts.”
“But you get happy at compliments from others, too!” he argues. “Piers teases you about it every time we run into him, which is pretty often considering he’s dating your brother.”
“Yeah, but compliments from others don’t give me a swarm of Butterfree in my belly!” Hop stops stirring to gesture with his arms. “That’s only with you, mate! And it’s Gigantamax Butterfree, too!”
To give himself time to process and react, Victor taste-tests the curry. “Ready to serve,” he observes quietly, then meets Hop’s eyes again. “Really?”
“I thought that’s obvious. I've been flirting with you for ages,” Hop says. They set the table together, serving the food for their Pokémon before filling their own plates. “But what’s more important… Do you feel that way too?”
“I thought that’s obvious,” Victor mirrors his words. “I’ve liked you since forever, and the feeling’s only got stronger. Through the adventures we shared during the Gym Challenge, with Zacian and Zamazenta, and beyond that…” He trails off, looking at the legendary Pokémon, who always stood close together whenever he and Hop spent time together with their teams, clearly showing their bond as partners.
Hop smiles, softer than his radiant sunbeam smile, but bright and affectionate all the same. “Yeah, I get it, mate. The feeling’s always been there. But when our adventure started, there were a ton of other things happening on my mind and I wasn’t sure you’d like me the same way, you know?”
“That assumption was so wrong, but I get it. I thought I’d just imagined your flirting.”
“We should’ve taken a page from the book of our Pokémon, huh?” Hop’s smile widens into a grin. “So, Vic, from now on I get to hold your hand and kiss you whenever we’re together, right?”
“And I get to tell people how amazing my boyfriend Hop is, right?”
“It’s a deal!”
They share laughter, hands entwining between them as they start eating. And before taking seconds, Hop cups his cheek and leans in for a quick kiss — their first kiss — impulsive as he is, sweet as he is, grinning from ear to ear when pulling away. Victor smiles wide, leaning into Hop’s shoulder to savour the warmth — and maybe hide his giant blush.
“Love you, Victor,” Hop says against his hair.
“Love you too, Hop.”

Marvel’s only recently started expanding their cinematic universe to the small screen, but one of its flagship shows, Loki, is already making history. It’s one of the first to get greenlit for a second season on Disney+, ahead of animated anthology What If...? — but that’s not the only milestone under its belt. According to producer Kevin Wright, Loki Season 2 might be the first MCU project to wrap production without the need for reshoots.
“This is maybe the first Marvel movie or show with zero additional photography,” Wright told Uproxx ahead of Loki’s return. Marvel productions, like any blockbuster, often need reshoots to tighten action sequences or streamline continuity. Given Loki’s importance to the MCU, however, it seems like the series had plenty of freedom to get its story right before filming. “The show that is on-screen, that will be going out, is the show that we wanted to make.”
That extends to the return of Jonathan Majors. He appears in the series as Victor Timely, a Kang variant that becomes a valuable asset in the quest to save the TVA. As Marvel is still building towards Avengers: Kang Dynasty, it’s not too much of a surprise to see him back so soon.
Unfortunately, it comes in tandem with some alarming controversy: Majors was charged with domestic assault in March, shortly after appearing in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Additional reports of abuse have surfaced in the months since, leading many to wonder whether Marvel Studios is still committed to Majors’ role in the MCU.
Tumblr media
When Loki Season 2 dropped its first trailer, Majors was there as Timely, albeit briefly. The series’ marketing has been careful not to feature the character too prominently, if at all. As Majors’ case is still up in the air (his trial date was pushed back to October), it was hard to say whether his role would be reduced, recast, or reshot. But Wright’s comments have cleared the air, at least where Loki is concerned.
Timely was always “a big part” of the story as written, according to the producer. As Majors’ arrest occurred long after the season had been shot, there was apparently no discussion of reshoots or recasting. “There’s nothing really to act on at this moment,” Wright continued. “We don’t know what that will all be, [but] I think we feel strongly about what the story is, what the performances are. And we’re happy with it, and it’s what the show is. And what happened afterwards, none of us really know. And we’ll see.”
Tumblr media
In a roundabout way, Wright’s statement echoes Marvel’s attitude towards the controversy. The studio itself hasn’t made any statement outright, and they’re likely waiting for a definitive ruling before doing so. As Majors’ trial continues, though, the studio will eventually have to make its intentions clear. Loki might be the first MCU project to avoid reshoots, but that may come back to bite the series in the future.
Loki Season 2 returns October 5 on Disney+.

The Place Where The Lost Things Go
A/N: Alto writes fluff, ten dead, six injured
AO3
Over a decade ago, Tsuru Kitagwa could only lie down on the floor dying as her mentor smiled and refused to get her medication.
Then she woke up in the body of a fox in a small town called Inaba.
Over the years she’s watched people come and go, worked to restore the shrine, had some kits of her own, got a teenager to do various odd jobs for her by offering a discount on magic healing leaves when he and his friends entered an alternate reality inside the TV, and ceded watching over the shrine to her daughter while the other kits left home.
She can’t help but feel disconnected from it all, like something is still missing.
She’s doing her usual tour of the shopping district, when she hears a familiar name.
“Kitagawa!”
Huh? Why would someone call her name? She trots over to Tatsumi Textiles where Kanji is addressing a group of students she doesn’t recognize. Kanji’s a very nice boy despite his face, and she remembers hearing something about a cultural exchange program with Yasogami and some school in Tokyo, where art students could come to Inaba for a weekend to learn about pottery and textiles that Inaba made famous.
A slender young man trots over to the group, and Tsuru tenses.
She’d recognize her Little Da Vinci anywhere. Yusuke! That’s her Yusuke!
“Sorry Tatsumi-sensei,” Yusule says. “I was simply distracted…”
“You’ll get a chance to see everything soon, just stay with the group. Don’t want you getting lost.”
Her little boy! Her baby! Her son! He’s here in Inaba! Is he too thin? He looks a little too thin. Naturally Tsuru follows him around. He keeps making very good and insightful comments about what Kanji shows off, but the other students seem to ignore him.
The group disperses to let the kids explore on their own. Yusuke quickly begins buying various things that seem a little random, then his stomach rumbles. Aww he’s just like he was as a kid. Getting so wrapped up in his business that he doesn’t realize it’s dinner time. She remembers having to promise him that he could finish coloring when he was done, but a growing boy needs to eat.
Yusuke heads over to the steak stand, then stops and frowns.
“Oh, I seem to have spent all my money…” he mutters.
What? He didn’t budget for food?
Shit. Her son is bad with money.
Yusuke frowns and starts to head towards Amagi Inn, where they’re naturally staying. Oh no, no way is she letting her Little Da Vinci go to bed hungry! She has to get his attention somehow.
She spots a scrap of fabric hanging out of his bag, and leaps forward to grab it.
“Hey! That’s for my friend!” Yusuke shouts, and he follows her.
She leaps up and hits the bell of the Dojima residence with her tail, and Nanako-chan opens. Tsuru bolts inside before she can react.
“Wha?” Nanako-chan gasps, and Yu comes down in the commotion.
“I’m sorry, that fox stole my scarf!” Yusuke says.
Tsuru’s patiently waiting in the living room and as Yu looks between them. “Ok, what are you trying to get at?”
Feed my son! Tsuru tries to say, but of course all anyone hears is “yip, yip, yip!”
“Uh, do you need something?” Yu asks. “That fox is pretty smart, she’s probably trying to help you.”
“By stealing a gift for my friend?” Yusuke says.
“I promise she’s really kind.”
Suddenly, Yusuke’s stomach rumbles again.
“...do you need something to eat?” Nanako-chan asks.
Yusuke’s eyes widen. “The fox did jump out at me when I realized I didn’t have money for food.”
“Yeah, that sounds about right,” Yu says. “Well, come in.”
“Really? You’d do that?” Yusuke gasps.
“The fox is a good judge of character, even if she’s… roundabout sometimes.”
If you could understand me, I wouldn’t have to be, Tsuru thinks.
“So, are you one of the Tokyo students?” Yu asks as he pulls something out of the fridge and heats it up.
“Yes! Inaba’s lovely! There’s so much culture here!” Yusuke announces, pulling things out of his bag. “I have a friend who grows plants so I got her this jar, there was this man by the steak shop selling models that would look really nice in another friend’s room—“
“Who’d you get the sword for?” Nanako-chan asks, pulling a wakizashi out of Yusuke’s bag.
“I admired the craftsmanship. In fact I had a wonderful discussion with Diadara-san about metalworking.” Yusuke sighs. “Ah if only I could take it up in Tokyo, it might be useful…”
“It’s always nice seeing someone from the big city who likes Inaba,” Yu says, putting a plate in front of Yusuke who digs in.
“It’s wonderful!” Yusuke says between mouthfuls. “I don’t think I could live here though, it’d be too far from my friends.”
Yusuke’s smile drops.
“It’s already hard enough with some of them in different cities or countries, and who knows what’ll happen when we go off to college.”
Tsuru heads over and tries to put a comforting paw on Yusuke’s lap.
“I think things will work out,” Yu says. “Seems like you and your friends have strong bonds. A little thing like distance won’t break them.”
“Thank you,” Yusuke says. “Goodness, how crass of me, you’ve done all this for me and I haven’t even asked your name!”
Yu laughs. “I’m Yu Narukami, and this is my cousin Nanako Dojima.”
“Nice to meet you. I’m Yusuke Kitagawa.”
Yusuke cleans off his plate.
“Thank you so much for your hospitality, Narukami-san.”
“Well you should thank the fox too,” Yu says. “I think she likes you.”
“Futaba would have something to say about that,” Yusuke says under his breath. “Thank you.”
Tsuru wags her tail and runs circles around him. At least she was able to help her Little Da Vinci somewhat.
“Wow, she really likes you,” Nanako-chan says. “Maybe even more than big bro!”
Yu frowns. “After all I’ve done for you?” he says.
Sorry! You can’t blame a mother for being biased towards her son.
Yusuke stands up and stretches, and at that moment there’s a bright flash of lighting and roar of thunder. It normally wouldn’t be a problem, except Yusuke’s caught off guard and trips.
Into the TV.
Tsuru has enough time to hear Yu say “shit” before she jumps in after him.
Did Tsuru fully understand the TV World when she first started following Yu in? No. Did anyone feel the need to stop and explain it to her? Also no.
But she died and reincarnated as a fox so it’s not like she has room to question it.
She understands enough to know that Yusuke falling in might still be dangerous even if it’s less pressing than it was when the murders were ongoing.
Upon landing, she scampers over to Yusuke who is sprawled on the ground and has a conspicuous bruise on his forehead.
Oh poor thing, he must have landed headfirst. Of course he inherited her tendency to bruise easily so she also can’t tell how bad it is.
“Yusuke,” she says patting his face with her paws, “wake up.”
“Hmnnnn five more minutes mother…” Yusuke murmurs before turning over.
“Yusuke! Wake up! It’s not safe.”
“Uggghh…” Yusuke finally sits up. “What happened?”
“I wish I could explain sweetie,” Tsuru says. She sniffs out where the exit is and makes sure Yusuke is watching so he’ll follow her.
“The atmosphere here,” Yusuke mutters, “it’s just like— oh. There it is.”
Tsuru turns around and suddenly Yusuke is wearing… a fox costume? Well it’s probably meant to be a kitsune costume given the mask.
“WHAT THE HELL?” Tsuru gasps. Her baby is a magical girl?
“Look out!”
Tsuru turns and sees one of those shadows about to attack but then Yusuke summons a Persona and blasts it away.
Her baby is a magical girl with a Persona?!
Yusuke picks Tsuru up and zips her into the front of his outfit. “Can we just keep heading this direction?”
Tsuru nods and Yusuke takes off.
It must have started raining the way the shadows are agitated, but thank goodness there isn’t more fog.
Soon enough, they run into Yu fending off some shadows alongside with Kanji and Teddie.
“Uh, Kitagawa-kun?” Yu asks.
“Narukami-san!” Yusuke pants, clearly getting tired.
“He’s not a shadow,” Teddie says.
“I can see that, but then why did his outfit change?” Kanji asks.
“This just sort of happens when I need to fight,” Yusuke explains. “I’m shocked you all are summoning Personas without masks.”
“Oh good, you already know about Personas,” Kanji sighs in relief. “I was worried we had a lot more to explain.”
“The shadows here are weird looking but really the thing that confuses me is how I got here and why your fox sounds like my mother.”
“This is the TV World—“
“WAIT, YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME?” Tsuru gasps, cutting off Kanji.
“THE FOX CAN TALK?!” Yu gasps.
“NOW YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME?!?”
Yusuke blinks and gently removes Tsuru from his suit and sets her down. “Um, yes I can understand you? This is someplace in the Metaverse, right? A place made of human cognition?”
Teddie nods. “Yeah, we don’t call it the Metaverse but it’s a place made from the thoughts and feelings of everyone in Inaba!”
“Right, and being here changes your cognition so you can understand…” Yusuke frowns. “I can’t call you Fox-san, I’m Fox. Sorry, is there something else I can call you?”
“Mother or mom or mama, whatever.”
“You can’t adopt him just because he has a fox costume,” Yu says.
“No, literally. My name is Tsuru Kitagawa, I died and woke up in the body of this fox around 14 years ago.”
“M-mom?” Yusuke gasps. “Is it really you?”
“Of course Little Da Vinci, why did you think I was looking out for you earlier?”
Yusuke looks about to cry. “M-mom”
“Hey sorry to interrupt but can we do the reunion stuff when there aren’t as many shadows around!” Teddie yells.
“Right,” Yu says. “Come on the exit is this way.”
Once they’re back in reality, they all settle on the roof of Junes.
“Are you still hungry dear?” Tsuru asks. “Do you need something to eat? Yu can you buy him some steak skewers?”
“I’m still not over you talking,” Yu says, going to order.
“Ok so you’re sure the fox is talking,” Yosuke, who’s gotten off of work and joined them, says.
“Yeah man, the fox talks,” Kanji says.
“Then how come I can’t understand her?” Yosuke asks. “I mean, I’ve been to the TV World.”
“Well being in the Metaverse, or TV World in your case wouldn’t be enough,” Yusuke muses. “I know someone who’s been there but still can’t understand Morgana because she never heard him in the Metaverse.”
“Is Morgana a cat?” Yu asks, coming back with the steak skewers.
“Yes, how did you know?”
“Something about this just feels familiar,” Yu says.
“How’d you mean, partner?” Yosuke asks.
“It’s like a vague sense of deja vu. I can’t really explain it.”
“Weird,” Teddie says. “But I’m still confused about Ms. Fox. We’ve been to the TV World with her before but she only talked now?”
“Well it’s all cognition,” Yusuke says. “So I suppose the most likely explanation is mother didn’t expect you to understand her.”
“That’d make sense,” Tsuru says. “I’ve been a fox for a long time, I gave up on other humans understanding me years ago. I suppose deep down I want Yusuke to understand me, so my cognition changed.”
“Awww,” Kanji says.
“Man are you tearing up?” Yosuke sighs.
“Shuddup! If my ma died and I reunited with her after years I’d be sobbing.”
“I’m very happy to see you again, mother,” Yusuke says, petting her head. “Would you like some steak?”
“No! You need it more, you’re skin and bones!” Tsuru says. “Who’s in charge of feeding you, anyway?”
“Myself, mostly,” Yusuke says. “I live in the school dorms.”
Tsuru frowns.
“You know, mother, I was thinking,” Yusuke says. “Would you like to come back to Tokyo with me?”
“Really?”
“Of course!”
“But surely you can’t have pets in the dorms!”
“We can keep it secret,” Yusuke insists. “You can just come around in my bag like Morgana does with Ren! Or I’ll move out!”
Tsuru isn’t sure whether to laugh or cry. “You know most sons can’t wait to move out of their mother’s house.”
“I don’t want to force you or anything, I’m sure you’ve built a life here in Inaba,” Yusuke says, “it’s just, I’ve missed out on so much time with you, mom.”
Tsuru nuzzles his chest. “Oh Yusuke, I’d love to go back to Tokyo with you.”
The next day, Tsuru is back at the shrine roughly explaining the situation to her kits. Despite being born after Yusuke, they’re all grown up, and the boys have gone off to find their own dens, but the girls are perfectly capable of taking over the shrine.
Sofoxnisba is the oldest and she’s resolute when Tsuru explains that she’s in charge now. Foxes and other animals don’t communicate the way humans do, so Tsuru can’t give all the details, but she promises to visit when she can and reminds Sofoxnisba to watch over the others, and Sofoxnisba takes the responsibility within pride.
As Tsuru leaves, she passes by some people going to offer their prayers. The shrine has been her home for a long time now, and it’s taken her as much as she’s taken care of it.
But there’s a new chapter of her life ahead of her now, and it’s with her son, waiting down the road.

Happy Friday! I gotta get an enemies to lovers prompt in here: "you snatch a knife from your enemy’s grip and throws it at the ground, then you grab your enemy by the collar, and crash your lips against theirs. they’re surprised, but responds immediately" - for whoever you think fits best!
Happy Friday, Niri! This all hit me in the shower about two hours ago and it doesn't fit the prompt exactly, but I think it fits the spirit? Anyway, happy DADWC and I hope you enjoy a really rarepair weirdness! 💜💜💜 for @dadrunkwriting

Blasted forest.  Blasted werewolves.  Blasted… talking bloody trees!  Carver stumped his way around the edge of the camp, wishing he hadn’t drawn the straw to take the middle watch.  Leave this shit to the elf, or one of the damned dwarves!  They can see in pitch black, and I’m just tripping over my c - feet.  Void take it, even Morrigan could do a better job if she turned into a bird or a cat or something.
He paused and looked back at the rest of the group sleeping around the fire.  The campsite they’d picked out was too small for tents, so everyone was in bedrolls tonight.  Brosca was in theirs. Leliana was in theirs too.  More power to them, he thought spitefully.  Zev was in his.  Carver’s was, of course, empty, and Oghren was snoring leaning against a tree.  But Alistair, Sten and Morrigan were missing.  Had they left before he got up?  If so, why hadn’t Wynne mentioned it?
And if they’d left after Carver was on watch, why didn’t they say let him know?  Also, how had he missed it?
Furthermore, why would the three of them go anywhere together?  Sten distrusted women and mages, Morrigan hated Alistair personally, and Alistair just wanted them to leave him and each other alone.
Without the jingle of his mail or the thud of his boots, the night was far more quiet than it had any right to be - further proof that something about the Brecilian Forest was unnatural.  As he frowned and tried to figure out what to do, a faint metallic noise drifted from beyond the trees.
Like a weapon sliding on a shield.
Before he knew it, he was leaving the camp and following what could only be the sound of fighting.
Maker, they really decided to just all three try to kill each other, didn’t they?  What the void for?  Why here, why now?  As he crept through the forest, he tried to remember if anything had been off during the evening meal.  Morrigan had been asking Sten questions that left them both looking flustered and annoyed, but that wasn’t really new. One of them was always pissing off someone, either out of deliberate spite (Morrigan) or stubborn obstinance (Sten).  But what did that have to do with Alistair?
A river was somewhere to his left, wide enough that the tree cover let the moonlight through.  The reflection made everything look and feel like the Fade, and reminded him of the times Bethany had accidentally dragged him into her own dreams.  He’d asked Morrigan about that one night, and she’d rolled her eyes and scoffed that he’d heard too many sermons on the evils of apostasy.
A few nights later, when he was on first watch, she’d asked him why he wanted to know, and listened to him with an intensity in those captivating yellow eyes that bordered on feverish.  In a roundabout fashion, Carver found her company the easiest of everyone, except Brosca.  She was an apostate, and knew all about the dangers of Templars, even if her mother had been a bit more… direct in getting rid of them than theirs ever had been.
She was still a bitch after that, of course.  Never gave him the time of day, or treated him with anything but contempt, but it was comforting in its own odd way.  She didn’t like him on his own merits, not for anything Garrett or Bethany had done or not done, and Maker, that was refreshing..
Focus.  Maker knew what Morrigan was up to now, or what Sten and Alistair might be doing to her.  He sped up, still moving toward the sound of metal, until something large and furry hit his back.  There was no time or space to pull out his sword, but he got his belt knife out as he felt forward and stabbed up behind him.
The bear bellowed - Andraste’s flaming asshole, I’m wrestling a bear, I’m going to die - and swatted him to the ground as it fell on top of him, knife still stuck in its shoulder.  What’s the thing?  Play dead and they’ll get bored?  Or is that wolves?  Or mountain cats?  I’m so dead.
Carver grabbed at the knife and slashed at its throat, determined to at least make it pay for its next meal, and the damn thing batted it away as he leaned over him with a low threatening growl before everything felt sideways and watery, then Morrigan was on top of him, bleeding from shoulder and throat, and hands covered in dirt and moss where they dug into his shirt.
Is there any way tonight can get any weirder?  “What the -”
She kissed him.
Apparently so.

until i met you.
quick little thing because i miss them <3 full drabble below, or on ao3 here.
“I didn’t believe in love before I met you.”
Katsuki opens his eyes, tilting his head back to look up at his boyfriend. He asks, “Really?”
He’s met with possibly the most deadpan stare Shouto has ever given him. “Have you met my family?”
“No, of course,” Katsuki rushes to say. He just had dinner with them last Thursday. He now has two more—three, if you count the one who shan’t be named—siblings than he had before. Which is a lot, because before he had none. But he just thought that well, even he believed in love, in the abstract sort of way, despite how he grew up and his parents being with each other the way that they are. “Not at all?”
Shouto shakes his head. “I mean, it’s not like I was particularly close with my family. I probably loved my mother, but then she was taken away and all that affection was gone. Natsuo, Fuyumi, Touya. They were my siblings but it wasn’t exactly like we grew up together.
“You remember what I was like, when I first started at U.A.. I was so cold, I showed no warmth towards anyone.
“Then I made friends and I started to get an idea of what it was like, but I didn’t really realise I was missing out on anything until, well. Until you.”
Katsuki tries, but undoubtedly fails, not to blush. He remembers it, the quiet nights spent studying together, the way being around Shouto made him feel. He remembers the roundabout way they got together, their first kiss, their first date. The first time he said I love you, his heart beating out of his chest, terrified that somehow, despite everything, Shouto would reject him.
The way Shouto hadn’t said it back, just nodded awkwardly and said, ‘Oh, okay. Thanks.’ And Katsuki would’ve been more worried were it not for how mortified Shouto looked after saying those words. How he rushed to apologise, to explain that it wasn’t that he didn’t— But that he’d never— And Katsuki—
Katsuki drew him into a kiss, gentle and sweet. When they pulled apart he put his hands on Shouto’s cheeks, his thumb resting beneath that infamous scar, and told him, ‘I know.’
When Shouto then said it back nearly a year later, after Katsuki was injured on the field, they’d both cried. Shouto, because he’d been so worried over Katsuki, was terrified that he wouldn’t make it, and Katsuki because, well. Despite the reassurances he’d given, it was still really nice to hear it said so plainly by Shouto after all this time.
“So then,” Katsuki starts, not really sure how to respond. In the end he goes with, “I’m your first?”
This makes Shouto smirk. He brushes his fingers through Katsuki’s hair and leans down so their noses nearly touch, “Yes, babe, you’re my first.”
“You’re my first too,” Katsuki whispers back, though it doesn’t really need to be said. They’re just romantic like that, he supposes.
Shouto smiles down at him, then presses a kiss to his lips.
They sit in the silence that follows for a while after, enjoying the midday sun and occasional cool breeze. Katsuki closes his eyes again and almost falls asleep to the soothing touch of Shouto’s hand in his hair.
Their previous conversation ruminates in his mind and he wonders when he started believing in love. When he’s unable to pinpoint a specific time, he thinks that maybe he’s always believed in it, in some way or another. And then it brings him a pang in the chest because he realises it must mean that Shouto either stopped believing in love very early on, or never had any reason to believe in it in the first place.
“I think I used to want to rescue a princess and marry her when I was little,” Katsuki says suddenly, mostly to cheer himself up. It’s not like Shouto can know what he was thinking, anyway, though he might make a good guess.
“Yeah?” Shouto responds. “Want me to be your pretty damsel in distress?”
Katsuki rolls his eyes. “Well I’m not little anymore, am I? Besides, you’re neither a damsel, nor in distress.”
“But I am pretty, apparently.”
Katsuki sighs. “That, you unfortunately are.”
Shouto playfully whacks his shoulder at that, and Katsuki lets out a chuckle. “Hey, it’s still a compliment.”
“Yeah, but a backhanded one,” Shouto mumbles. Katsuki doesn’t have to be looking at him to know that he’s pouting.
Katsuki finds Shouto’s hand and holds onto it with his own. “Come on,” he placates, “you know I think you’re gorgeous.”
It was perhaps one of the first things Katsuki noticed about him, actually. He wasn’t immune to people’s good looks, and the student who got in on recommendations with the half-red half-white hair and the mysterious scar definitely didn’t escape his notice.
And then it irked him, because he was a teenager and that was what happened when he felt threatened by someone’s attractiveness, and then that anger only deepened when Todoroki Shouto revealed his prowess.
To think that this is the person Katsuki now adores above anyone! Talk about growth.
“Well I think you’re handsome too,” Shouto tells him with a grin, sounding very proud of himself.
Katsuki smiles back. “Thanks, Shouto.”
Although Katsuki has always believed in love, he doesn’t think it really meant anything to him until he met Shouto.

Writer's block is finally gone, so now y'all get even more, extra late Tiertice content. Written for day 4: ink of @tiertice-week-2023.
Summary: Two letters filed under Contigency of Death or Exile in the Black Swan archives. Hand-written.
Ao3
BLACK SWAN ARCHIVES - CONTINGENCY OF DEATH OR EXILE
In the event of the death or exile of TIERGAN ANDRIN ALENEFAR/GRANITE, the following letter will be delivered to PRENTICE ENDAL, currently residing in [REDACTED for archival purposes]. If he is not alive to receive it, this letter will be burned.
Letter begins.
My dear Prentice,
I hope you never have to read this.
Let that be said—I may be foolish, and reckless, and utterly unconcerned for my safety as you so often enjoy telling me, but I swear to every unmapped star that I have never, never wanted to hurt you. And to lose myself would be hurting you, so in some roundabout way…well, I’m alive as I write this, Prentice, and I intend to stay that way for a very long time. (I promised you forever, and you know I’m not one to go back on my promises.)
But, if you’re reading this, then somewhere along the way I must have failed. Maybe I slipped, maybe I was careless—whatever it was, it doesn’t matter. What matters is, I know you, and I know you’re fighting the urge to scream at me and the world and at everyone around you. And if I begged you to let me go, please, you’d only be more upset.
So I won’t say that. Instead, I’ll tell you that I miss you, even as the only part left of me is a memory. And when you forget me—as is inevitable, with our lives long as they are—I’ll still love you, from every part of me that has ever known love.
There isn’t really a point to this letter; you know Leto insists on us writing them. After all, there’s nothing I can tell you that you don’t already know—except that I’m sorry, if you can find it in yourself to believe me.
(Please tell Wylie and Cyrah that I’m sorry, too. Maybe you can also tell them the truth, finally. I think they deserve it now.)
In truth, though, the only thing I want to tell you is this: forget about me. You have an eternity to live and to love; and so long as this letter exists in my hand, my memory is sufficiently alive, and you can walk away.
Damn it all, Prentice, please just walk away.
I promise, I’m not worth losing you, too.
All my love,
Tiergan Endal

In the event of the death or exile of PRENTICE ENDAL, the following letter will be delivered to TIERGAN ANDRIN ALENEFAR/GRANITE, currently residing in Solreef. If he is not alive to receive it, this letter will be burned.
This letter was removed from the archives as of [DATE REDACTED].
Letter begins.
Tiergan,
I’ve never been much of a poet, really, but I’ll tell you this: Loving you has made me one.
It sounds ridiculous, I know. But when I watch you, I think the only way to fully describe who you are is with poetry—you’re Tiergan and you’re everything; the king of every sunset and the queen of every sunrise, the stars themselves personified into one, ever-gleaming halo of a person.
I don’t know when you’ll read this letter, but I’m sure it will be soon. I’ve heard rumours of the Cognates’ research into me, and while they’ll never find the information they’re looking for, I have no doubts that they’ll find enough information to send me to Exile if they so choose. And you and I both know what they will choose.
And when that happens, well. Here’s this letter, for you. A final apology in my own hand.
I know a part of you never fully forgave me for becoming the Keeper. I know you think that I’m incapable of walking away—and hell, you might be right—but I need you to understand something, love: I did this for us. Every lie I told, every secret I kept, it was for you. You are the world that I swore to protect, all those years ago, and I don’t regret any minute of it.
So, yes, be angry at me, I know I deserve it. But don’t say that I did this for nothing, because I didn’t. I did it for you, and the children I’ve sworn to protect. And if the Moonlark gets to live another day without the Council’s wrath looming over her…well, then. My job is done here.
So, yes, if you’re reading this, it’s too late to save me. But maybe it always was. Maybe I’ve been doomed to this fate ever since I laid eyes on the faults of our world, maybe I should’ve known I was done from the moment I laid eyes on you.
All that aside, however, I’m grateful that I got to spend the little time that was my life loving you, and Cyrah, and Wylie.
The world is better with you three in it.
…Don’t forget that, darling. Please.
Yours,
Prentice

Tododeku Fics
This is a list of Todoroki Shouto/Midoriya Izuku fics I like on AO3, if you have any recs for me feel free to send me some!
Updated 5/15/24
The Roundabout Way of Fate by itsmyartfam
~Midoriya Izuku wants to become a hero. Midoriya Izuku is born with a healing quirk. He learns how to save people a different way.~
Checks and Balances by indirectkissesiniceland
~Izuku Midoriya was a competitive cheerleader up until an injury to his hand made tumbling and stunting an impossibility. It's devastating to think that cheer could be out of his life for good—until a pair of enthusiastic classmates show up at Izuku's dorm room with a signup sheet for a new hockey cheerleading club. All that's left to do is learn how exactly hockey works...and try not to think too much about the prodigious freshman right wing, who's just about the most wonderful person Izuku's ever met.~
read between the lines by realfakedoors
~Quirkless as the day he was born, Izuku is determined to become a hero and takes the Yūei entrance exam. With the highest written exam score in over a decade, he is offered admission to General Studies, Class 1-C. The editor-in-chief of the school paper approaches Izuku after finding his misplaced notebook and asks if he would like to to become a staff writer. Urged to turn his Hero Analysis journals into a column, he agrees, with the caveat he can go by a pen name.~
Fallacy by CrzA
~Todoroki Shouto has become very affectionate towards Midoriya Izuku, thinking they are together. Meanwhile, Izuku is having an internal crisis because his best friend isn't really helping his hopeless crush for him go away with all the embraces.~
Please be nice to your server by meiishu
~a self-indulgent restaurant AU where Izuku's the poor waiter stuck with the pickiest customer ever, Enji Todoroki: the well-renown medical hero. Izuku's only now learning he has a son: a very, very pretty one.~
The Joys Of Brotherhood by eddiewrites307 (burnthebodiesandbedonewithit)
~Midoriya Izuku and Bakugou Katsuki are (practically) brothers.
Midoriya Izuku is Quirkless.
Midoriya Izuku starts dating Todoroki Shoto.~
Waking Hours by Graendal
~Izuku squints at the menu, written in calligraphy on a chalkboard that spans the entire wall behind the counter. The surrounding walls are black, too — are they all chalkboard surfaces, or is it just for the aesthetic?
He frowns. There doesn’t seem to be any descriptions of what the drinks actually are. There aren’t even ingredients listed. “Um, what does the vastness of eternity contain?”~
@tshoutoskates and @mizukudances by Graendal
~Izuku drops his face into his hands. “I thought you were going to edit out all that stuff, Ochako!”
“I’m sorry,” Ochako says, as if that makes any difference now. “I tried? But I couldn’t cut it all out or there’d be nothing left. It’s getting a lot of views, at least?
He groans, sitting back in his chair. Maybe it would have been better to feature a different skater. One that he wouldn’t have felt the need to pause and swoon over every five seconds.
He can’t help it. Todoroki is just that amazing. No one compares.~
Hand to Heart (Right to Left) by Half_SubmergedinPurgatory
~Shouto indulges Midoriya's curiousity about how his Quirk works. Just like everything he does with Midoriya, Quirk study sessions quickly become life-changing.
In other words: Shouto learns how to spite his dad, scare his friends, and how teenagers are supposed to act when they're in love.~
skip a beat by Esplodeyoface
~Todoroki Shouto did not develop crushes. He simply didn't. He didn't have the time, or the energy, or the emotional capacity to entertain the idea of having a crush. His time was much better spent in other ways. Like training, or studying, or sleeping, or finding new and creative ways to completely shun his father's existence. He quite simply didn't develop crushes.~
Faking It by Gallifrey101
~When Endeavor won't stop harassing Todoroki at school and making him uncomfortable with constant phone calls, Midoriya decides to fight fire with fire.
OR Midoriya realizes the best way to piss Endeavor off is to be the boyfriend Endeavor never wanted Todoroki to have.~
Romancing For Dummies: A Book Specifically Addressed To Todoroki Shouto by Julietwasanidiot
~If this is what Midoriya thinks, that these results come from a genuine effort on Shouto’s part to smooth over the romantic tribulations of his classmates, and not from the awkward fumbling of some hormone-ridden teenage homosexual disaster, Shouto’s going to defend that belief if it kills him.~
Half Hot, Half Cold and Fully Dense by asthmaticbee
~Shouto doesn’t realize Izuku is confessing to him and it takes him two months to realize that, oh, they’ve been dating. Cue his very silent gay panic.~
Thanks for Saving Me by Esselle
~Midoriya Izuku is a university sophomore, a fanboy, quirkless. On the list of things he is not: a hero.
That's why he's more surprised than anyone when he rescues Todoroki Shouto, his favorite pro hero, from a deadly villain attack. His actions fling him into the media spotlight, grabbing the attention of the entire country, including Todoroki himself. But Todoroki actually wants to get to know him past the headlines.~
what are they? by gotthatbrainrot (Todobakudeku)
~Class 2-A is...confused.
Scratch that.
They are absolutely flabbergasted.
And it is all thanks to two childhood...friends? Rivals? Boyfriends? Mortal enemies?~
Bad Timing by OhneHerz
~Shinso is messaging Midoriya (who's back at the dorms because he's sick) during class, when he hooks his laptop up to the screen to present a project to a class. Midoriya's messages come through and the whole class sees him roast Endeavor and subsequently hit on Todoroki.~
Gross by thecacoethicaspect
~5 times Kirishima accidentally made people think he and Todoroki were dating + 1 time he finally realised what was going on~
The Great Sports Festival Seduction by katydid
~Izuku wins the Sport Festival by (accidentally) seducing Shouto Todoroki.~
Confusion by bortzy
~Todoroki has just figured out he's gay. Kirishima is the only openly gay person he knows, so he goes to him for advice on what to do about his feelings. They end up bonding over their hopeless crushes on Midoriya and Bakugou, but people start to get the wrong idea.~
it's love and i got the proof by halcyonrole
~“He's slightly unhinged,” Shouto admits, “but I like that about him.”Midoriya flips over Bakugou, cackling evilly as he snags one of the grenades off his belt and flings it at an approaching Iida. Then Midoriya picks Bakugou up and lets out a feral scream as he throws him at Jirou. Aizawa sighs heavily but doesn’t stop the training exercise.Shouto cups his hands over his mouth and shouts, “You’re doing amazing, Midoriya!”~
Graffiti On The Walls by 11peach_bunny11
~Or, where Izuku is the vigilante known as Graffiti--named for the occasional political pieces he spray paints on alleyway walls and billboards to call out bad apple heroes along side the giant folders of evidence he likes to leave on the media's doorstep. Nobody has been able to arrest him for years, but what happens when a certain hero catches his eye? Will Izuku be able to keep his feelings in the shame box, or will he be caught with paint on his hands?~
every road you take will always lead you home by pusser
~Midoriya Izuku passes out in his world and wakes up in one where Number One Hero, Deku, has been dead for three years.~

~Izuku is a dimension hopper who accidentally breaks his arm after a rough jump, leaving him helpless in this strange new world. And then he finds out about the superpowers. Well if he wants to get specific, quirks. If there's one place where a super-powered quasi-immortal technology stealing jerk would be hanging out...~
Something in Between by moonbabyscoot
~Todoroki sighed again and stared out at the city. “I just...I can’t trust someone not to date me for my money, so can I just let someone date me for my money?”Mina snapped her fingers. “Todo, what you want is a sugar baby.”“A what? That sounds gross.”~

coming outta nowhere to ask just this;
so are Gojo and Col reader like polar opposites or something? or do they share similarities like hobbies and that sort of stuff, personality etc etc?
what exactly made them gravitate towards one another and bond? what is col reader and what do they have that made Gojo go "they're the one"?
sorry if this is a silly question!
hi nonie!! thanks for dropping by and asking abt col 🥺
thinking very carefully how to answer this without giving too much away while also making sure not to explicitly state the meanings behind all the subtleties i included in col!! this got rlly long omg sorry!!!
i wouldn’t call gojo and col reader as polar opposites! i’d say reader’s personality falls under a type that complements gojo’s if anything (so not too different, but not too similar too).
i think both gojo and reader are adventurous in their own ways!! gojo’s a lot more enthusiastic, while reader might be a bit more quiet abt it!! so if we’re talking about hobbies, gojo might be the type to tell people to do x, y, z with him, and reader would be more the type to explore things on their own but wouldn’t be opposed to trying anything they’re asked to!!
if you’re asking about compatibility, i think reader is easygoing in that way! that they’re able to go along w gojo’s antics (especially when they were younger)!
sorry if my answer to that is a bit roundabout (?) i think personalities are so complex in that it’s really impossible to tell what exactly constitutes as opposites, esp since there are so many configurations and nuances to a person!! which!!! is something i hope i’m able to convey in my writing!!
i’ve mentioned a bit in col about who fell first, and how their bond runs for a bit over a decade; but i’ve also been careful not to disclose too much because i have another col fic in development that’ll brush on how they were in highschool until their mid-20’s! it’ll be set before any of the currently released col pieces (‘col #0’ in short).
in col #0 i alr planned to touch on a few of the things you asked!! but it’ll be more of reader’s perspective!! so it’ll answer more of: what does col reader see in gojo?; i think col so far has been a lot of gojo’s feelings that i kind of wanted to explore the other of it!! aka reader’s feelings hehe to balance it out
ultimately, when i think of col reader i think of them as someone extremely patient, caring, and understanding—but ofc that’s not all that they are! they’re also strong, honest, and brave and many more that make up reader as a whole!! so it’s a bit tricky to answer your question about what exactly it is about them that made gojo think ‘they’re the one’ bc!! i think, much like real life, it’ll probably be smth along the lines of ~not anything in particular, but just how they are entirely! personality, shared experiences (memories), quirks, and hobbies and all!
(i’ve talked about this all with niku and tbh! she did make a point that sometimes you can’t help who you fall in love with!! so as much as it’s nice to have all these reasons, i think i like that idea too 🥺 that!! while a part of their love makes sense, and is easily explained, there’s also a part that’s just!! ‘idk why i feel this way exactly, but i do, and it feels good and i like it, because it’s you’ y’know? 🥺)
on a sidenote too!! at this point in col, while gojo has entertained ideas of ‘forever’ i think he’s still at that stage where it’s just that—still just entertaining it, thinking about it! not that he isn’t sure about reader, because he is!! it’s more of… if he’s sure about himself and if this is something he’s going to take into his own hands to finally put a stamp on!! (it’s a bit hard to explain omg i hope you understand 😭 it’s basically a lot of his internal stuff, navigating how he goes about coming to terms with his own personal commitment and whether he thinks he’s at a good spot to be ready for reader, u feel?) col #5 will touch on this a lot
sorry i rambled omg but i hope i somewhat answered your question!! thank you so much for asking nonie 🥺 it’s very timely to my wips!!
