Disclaimer: This is mainly me venting. I KNOW I'm biased due to personal factors, but I needed to get this off my chest.

Ever since Season 4 of Black Butler has been announced, I've been seeing a resurgence of Dad!Seb posts/content, and I just...

I understand simping for Sebastian, having AUs, all that - but when did we as a fandom start pretending he's not a soul hungry demon who'd eat OCiel the microsecond he got the chance? Did we all forget what happened in the Green Witch Arc, or...?

Sebastian isn't some loving demon who took pity and wanted to raise OCiel and love and protect him. He's a demon who made a contract with a human who happened to be a child, an Earl who needed said demon to take the guise of a butler. The other servants may love OCiel and want to protect him for having a hand in saving their lives, but Seb? Seb just wants dinner. We're reminded of that constantly.

Not to mention, OCiel doesn't trust him at all. One of Seb's literal contracted conditions is not to lie to him, not to betray him. You think if OCiel trusted Seb that he'd have done that? If memory serves, there's a number of times OCiel states, very plainly, that he doesn't trust Sebastian at all. Again, I'll reference the Green Witch chapters even if OCiel wasn't exactly clear minded for that - no spoilers, but manga fans will hopefully know what I'm talking about.

My point is, OCiel doesn't trust Sebastian. Sebastian doesn't see OCiel as his kid who needs to be protected. They both know exactly what their arrangements are, and both of them want it done and over with. OCiel isn't drawing it out, he's trying to fulfill his revenge as close to "on his own" as a literal child can, and utilizing the demon he has while he also balances his duties as an Earl (albeit poorly in some cases). The only reason he keeps Sebastian around is the contract, and the only reason Sebastian hasn't eaten him yet is because the terms of said contract aren't complete.

So please, can we at least acknowledge that Dad!Bastian is just an AU? Please? Cause it really makes me sick to see people saying Seb genuinely cares for OCiel like that.

im just gonna make this post to clear something up because some people dont seem to understand some things about us and our past or how weve changed since :)

we used to be a proshipper, we fully stepped away from it about 8 months ago, but started weaning off of it about a year ago. we were a proshipper due to being groomed into it as a kid and old habits die hard, as they say

we are no longer a proshipper and detest the community, but we also dislike the antiship community for its abuse of other people. thus, we do not align with either, and in general, just keep a distance from the shipping discourse bullshit as a whole, though we do lean far more anti

a lot of people will see our older posts and the people we reblogged from and see that we used to be a proshipper and make judgements without listening to what actually happened, so this is that truth

That's a beautiful question actually. Because it also gives me an excuse to give kudos to some amazing pro Darkling bloggers out there.

I won't rank them of course and I have many but my most favorite are:

@stromuprisahat (I agree with everything she says about the Darkling. Also I absolutely love her posts where she throws dirt at the good guys. Like, yes girl remind me how they suck actually 😭)

@starlesszova (her love for the Darklina ship is immense. Also she gives light to the Darkling's dark side as well but that doesn't stop her from stanning him and standing by his side even more!)

@theweeklydiscourse (if you haven't read her metas, go read them now. She puts her thoughts into words so beautifully and the things she criticizes the Grishaverse and its author about are only facts)

@is-today-tomorrow-in-nz (same thing as @theweeklydiscourse. Her criticism about the good guys' bullshit and actions is so true and she understands the Darkling so well)

@greensaplinggrace (her page is only facts about the Grishaverse and the Darkling. She brushes off neither his bad actions nor his good ones)

@darklinaforever (the way she has exposed the fandom's and the antis' bullshit needs to be applauded)

All these pages support Aleksander and none of them ignore his bad side. But they just prefer to dig deeper not only inside his psychology but also the Grishaverse's problematic messages and the author's failed attempt to deliver a cohesive, satisfying and non-problematic story. They also acknowledge how toxic that fictional world and society is and how it had affected the characters' personality and actions.

Also, all of them have critical thinking. They don't eat whatever the author says with the spoon but on the contrary they judge based on their own opinion and common sense. Which is something very important.

Like fuck he does! I know we are not talking about the same Jeon Jungkook that I know. Because he hates it. That man hates Tkkrs and hates when something looks like its gonna be misinterpreted when it comes to him and V so he clears it up immediately.

Here was my first post about JK debunking the Taekook ship.

I also already talked about this. V during last year's festa said him and JK used to share a room

JK immediately jumps in to clarify that they had a divider. He even shakes his hand "no"

You can tell neither Jimin nor JK like the Taekook narrative. Look at Jimin's face when V says him and JK used to share a room. Then watch again how quickly JK and Jhope jump in to clarify.

To be fair, JK will jump in to clarify with Minimoni, Vmin, Yoonmin, somefemalemin he is anti all ships that are not Jikook. On this post I talk about and share a thread about JK debunking a Jimin hetero rumor. He does this ALL the time. I dare you to find me a moment where he corrected something Jimin said about them. We know the hickeygate and rainy day fight stories were embellished but JK was just there with this big smile saying fuck all and just letting his baby lie to us. What do you think would have happened if it was V who said his favourite thing was waking up next to JK?

JK would have nipped that shit in the bud immediately.

Jimin tells us Jikook stories all the time and JK has never jumped in once like "actually no, that did not happen."

I would bet anything that he explained his tattoos to debunk the V. He needed us to know that was an A and an A only. I believe that 1300%

You sound very pro Jimin and if that is the case then you need to know your fav better. I've already talked about this but Jimin aint no doormat. He ain't letting no one take advantage of him. He said this with his own mouth; he cuts those people off. If Jimin had an issue with V he would not be entertaining him. Like at all. And you have seen that Vmin are doing just fine.

And you mad if you think JK would hurt Jimin on purpose. If Jimin told JK not to go out with V do you know what would happen? Exactly that. If JK knew anything Taekook was hurting Jimin, he wouldn't even sit next to V in ot7 content. I'm telling u that, rn. JK hangs out with V because Vminkook are fine. Taekook more than Vmin but that's neither here nor there.

My point is, you are way off if u think JK is doing anything to hurt his Mimi. I already shared two moments here where JK was sharply keeping an eye on Vmin incase he needed to step in.

I'm not an expert on Jikook. But I think I'm qualified to say JK would never, ever do anything to hurt Jimin intentionally.

It's why I am so confident that IF there is a Tkk song, it's not going to be on JK's album. Not unless a Jikook song is also allowed. That's why I'm confident there ain't gon be no Tkk live, unless the company agrees to a Jikook live as well. Or something Jikook related. That's why I also believe that the reason JK did not do any TT challenges for the members, was because he most probably wasn't allowed to do challenges for Jimin. So he said if Jimin ain't getting one then neither are Jhope and Suga. Same applies to why I think Jimin stopped posting on twitter. They prolly told him to stop posting JK so he said; fuck y'all I ain't posting no one.

yeah you know i just really enjoy having a space to post any and all fanfiction i write without any fear of whiny children like you coming along and pushing for it to get deleted because i wrote about two robots kissing and you personally didn't like the pairing.

wild that i enjoy a website where i can host my works and feel safe and secure knowing that nothing will happen to them.

i'm neither pro-ship nor anti-ship; i don't care and i don't align with either of those groups bc both are incredibly toxic and both have very wrong viewpoints and morals. but what i AM is pro-fanfiction and pro-security and i will never support anyone who wants to turn that website into a presentable, family-friendly site that's marketable for right-wing conservatives who don't want to see any kind of LGBT content or anything that's not wholesome christian hand-holding. maybe that's what you want, so you should go and revive ffn or make your own website instead.

Hello! Welcome, this is a blog I've created to curate inspiration for Muzan Kibutsuji. But I am open to interactions, so I may dip my hands in some writing for him as well.

My portrayal of Muzan is quite canon divergent and based on equal parts headcanon and canon material.

I'm very laidback on this blog, so expect minimal formatting and icons, sporadic activity, and varying post length.

Basic RP etiquette applies. Do not control my character without my permission, in character =/= out of character. Muzan is a very abrasive muse. So please don't take his rudeness personally. If you are a personal blog, you may follow me and send in asks or like headcanon posts. I have anon enabled if you'd prefer to use that. However, I would ask that you do not reblog my headcanons or threads. Please understand you are a guest in this space and be mindful with how you engage. Other than that, you're welcome on my blog! I hope you enjoy!

Fandom is a space meant for everyone to enjoy. Period. Bigotry of any kind, racism, sexism, transphobia, etc. Will not be tolerated. If I catch you engaging in any of these behaviors it's an immediate block from me.

Do not involve me in interpersonal drama. Roleplay is a fun hobby to me, and drama exhausts me. And to be frank, I am too old to care to keep up with who did what and why. I don't engage in dogpiles. I am just here to write my characters and stay in my lane. However, if any issues were to arise, I'd prefer to talk it out like adults. But if you'd no longer wish to interact for whatever reason, feel free to hard block me. There will be no hard feelings.

I am neither pro-ship nor an anti, nor do I care what camp you fall into. I'm just here to do my own thing. I will be exploring darker content on this blog: Including manipulation, abusive relationships, cannibalism, obsession, twisted dynamics among other things that come with the muse. I do have hard limits, however. I will not interact with you if you engage in noncon, underage smut, or adult / underage muse ships. All triggers will be tagged accordingly. And as always, if you need something tagged do not hesitate to let me know!

I run my blogs primarily on an interest basis, I also manage a household and I work. So my activity will fluctuate and be sporadic. I manage chronic depression and unmedicated ADHD both so I will probably be all over the place. IRL > Anything else. I will always prioritize the comfort level of a mun over writing and roleplay.

This is a canon divergent blog, as it says on the tin. There are a lot of aspects about Muzan and his story that I interpret differently, or omit entirely. If something about my portrayal isn't to your liking, I completely understand. You are entitled to your opinion, but please don't try to argue with me. Feel free to unfollow or block.

OCS. I love them. Feel free to send them my way, just be sure to have a page where I can read about them and we're golden. I am also duplicate friendly.

I am not open to shipping on this blog. I, however, will make exceptions if we have interacted OOC or if we're on the same page on what we want out of a ship. I'm uncomfortable shipping with people I don't interact with, this is purely for my own comfort and because of personal experiences in the past. But, if we've interacted and you think our characters would mesh well and have a good dynamic, by all means feel free to bring it up. I will not be posting smut or sexual content on this blog. So anything veering into that territory, I will ask to move to discord or another platform.

Whoa, your answer to that question about referring to yourself as a Pro-Shipper, is amazing. Not only you made it clear, but you provided very helpful information! I've got something I'd like to know, what is to be considered "Pro-Ship"? I usually see the term very loosely used and I might not really know about the term itself. For example, I personally (*and secretly) enjoy JayTim (HAHAH yes I actually do, I adore them so much.) would I fall under the term "Pro-Ship"?

I am afraid of being called disgusted for that, I just simply enjoy them so much.

i'm happy that my post explaining my positive stance on proshipping was well received!!!!! i've found that fanlore is a very good source for anyone looking to read about or see impartial views and definitions on a lot of fandom terms and i agree with their description of proshipping which is as below:

"the general concept of a pro-shipper is that they believe "fiction is not reality" and often see every ship as valid, regardless of the opinions others may have towards the ship. For some pro-shippers, this includes incest, non-con, underage, and other forms of relationships that are called unhealthy or problematic."

a ship can't really be labelled as a "proship" ship because proshipping is more for the person doing the shipping like you or me or anyone interested, involved in, or consuming fandom material.

you not wanting to be harrassed or bothered over enjoying a simple ship like jaytim would be a proship desire.

it would likely be an 'anti' who is doing the harassing and bothering. they're essentially the ones who only want to ruin people's good times because they believe (despite all evidence against it) that they're right and have some moral, legal, or religious right to preach, shame, and "punish" strangers on the internet.

if anyone tries shaming or trying to bother you because you're enjoying a ship i highly encourage you block as well as to report them if they're sending threats (because if they're doing it to you they're likely doing it to others)- to whatever social media site you're on!

jaytim is a ship i also greatly enjoy!! and its often described as "problematic" despite more than 50% of the fics on ao3 being labeled as 'general audiences' fics which means nothing explicit such as violence or sex occurs, etc. the reason jaytim is looked down upon is because it's an "incest" ship. this is, however, incest on a technicality because both of them were adopted by the same man: bruce wayne.

but aside from the legality of it (which is dubious because jason is also legally dead so one could argue that tim can't be brothers with a dead boy) neither of them ever occupied the same house, lived together, they don't have a severe age gap, nor do either of them share dna (as far as we know). in terms of 'problematic ships' jaytim is incredibly tame and is the third most popular ship in the Batman- All Media Types category on ao3, right behind dick grayson/jason todd and clark kent/ bruce wayne. by numbers alone jaytim is more popular than every single other canon ship in batman.

no matter how antis may try to spin or portray it- the numbers speak for themselves. the reality is that people who don't like batcest slash fic are in the minority of batman fans because 2 of the 3 largest ships with the most fics written about them are batcest.

your interests aren't disgusting. they're harmless. i'd say that liking an "incest ship" and reading about it for a hobby is one of the most harmless hobbies there is.

there are always worse things people could do in their spare time so i think reading fics of a couple you genuinely enjoy seeing together is a nice way for people to enjoy spending their time.

I think it's notable that this isn't OwlVid's first mass hissy-fit over the perceived existence of paraphiles, and maddened claims that people who patently aren't paraphiles secretly are. Their first blog (or maybe this blog? Idk I ignore them) was deleted because they had a near-identical blow up over the existence of pro-ship people? Including some very prominently anti-paraphile proshippers, mainly part of the community in an anti-harrassment context. Same enraged claiming that everyone in the community was secretly a paraphile, same moving goalposts, same death threats to people just minding their own damn business.

It was bad enough that staff deleted their blog over their posts, and if you've ever poked your head into that hellsite discourse, you know it takes staff a lot to delete people over that discourse.

So something tells me that OwlVid enjoys this shit, or at the very least has a pattern of this behavior that they won't control.

I'm afraid I can't comment on any of that myself, especially when I haven't seen it myself and in context I identify neither as "pro-ship" nor "anti-ship." If what you're saying is true, then I really do empathize with anyone else who has had to deal with false accusations by this individual. It's a shitty situation to be in no matter what.

I find it weird how quickly fandom (especially on Twitter) is nowadays to dismiss relationships they don’t see as romantic (aka don’t ‘ship’) as “like siblings”. All of a sudden it’s inconceivable that you can see a relationship as neither sibling-like nor romantic. If I say ‘I don’t see them as siblings’ I’m instantly labelled a shipper when, in reality, i just love non-sibling friendships in fiction.

Friends and siblings are (often) two very different relationship dynamics and online fandom spaces suddenly seem to hate to acknowledge that that there’s a category of same-age relationships other than romantic and siblings/cousin.

Friendships, best friendships especially, are insanely essential to social dynamics in real life and they are generally not comparable to sibling/cousin relationships.

I do not consider my friends or my best friend ‘like siblings’ because, well, I have siblings and they just aren’t the same relationships and dynamics (and i’m close to my siblings! it’s just a different dynamic). I would never tell my siblings certain things I tell my friends and sometimes I don’t tell any of my friends certain things my siblings could consider extremely basic things about me.

The idea of being romantic with my best friend is extremely off-putting and would be a funny ‘yeah maybe if you were the last person on the universe’ conversation, but it’s not because he’s like my brother, it’s because he’s my best friend and that platonic yet non-familial connection is a hugely important dynamic in our relationship (it’s the reason we say and do what we do).

It’s odd to me so many people think there has to be some taboo and/or legal line drawn to keeping people from seeing (or to have people accept you see) fictional characters as non-romantic. Sibling dynamics rarely match friend dynamics in real life, why does everyone think they’re interchangeable in fandom?

How many people have you kissed and been like ‘Nope! That’s weird!’ (even after a few dates or so)? It’s because most connections people have are platonic, not romantic (and obviously not a familial) and those can be and are so important to have in your life. Friendships are often the deepest, longest, more pure relationships we have. That’s often discounted in fandom and I think it’s so important to represent and acknowledge that people experience joy and happiness from seeing friendships in fiction and there don’t need to be any more strings attached — it’s just that.

TLDR; You really don’t have to cry ‘they’re like siblings!!’ every time you explain why you don’t ship a pairing. It’s really not because they’re related, it’s because you see their dynamic as platonic and that’s completely fine to love and obsess over.

It’s like all of a sudden if I post about a pairing and I don’t smack a huge ‘I see them as siblings!!’ label across the post I 100% ship them romantically. Newsflash!! I’m a normal human being who exists in the real world with real friends and I love friendship dynamics between characters in canon and fanon! I desperately await the day where shipping drama and pro/anti disputes stop driving fandom’s thoughts about every single relationship dynamic.

I despise shipcourse. As a person with OCD, shipcourse is wretched for my mental health. The kind of bullying that is an accepted part of this discourse presents a major health hazard for me. Please consider that before you come after me calling me a pedo (or pro censorship or something).

Here’s my take on the discourse, for BYF purposes, in parts 0-4:

0) I’m neither fully in the proship camp nor fully in the antiship camp. I believe that genuinely romantically shipping two characters can sometimes be a moral red flag.

1) Not everyone writes stories that they wish would happen in real life or in canon—some people write horror stories or erotic stories with horrific aspects that would be terrifying in real life!

2) Lots of teenagers self-ship with adults. Publicly humiliating teenagers and calling them pedophiles for writing student/teacher fic is damaging online bullying that should not be normalized. (If the profile doesn’t say an age, genuinely take a step back and stop contributing to the pressure for minors to reveal their age to anybody online ever!)

2.a) Many fandom “aunties” who have been writing Sn*rry fluff for the last two decades should stop doing that or at least stop engaging with the fandom the way that they currently are.

2.b) For fuck’s sake, if you are an adult, and a bunch of children come up to you and say your creative work makes them think you condone CSA and eroticize children, then you should do some serious self-reflection at the least, instead of absolving yourself of all possible culpability and tirading against the modern anti-sex values of… *checks notes* actual children.

3) Some of us have had fucked up, triggering lives, and we deserve to be able to write our own stories and see ourselves reflected in fiction, too. I agree there are creeps in fandom, but all out banning fics with C/SA and domestic violence would primarily affect survivors and our ability to see ourselves in fiction.

3.a) It genuinely feels like people are saying I would be better off dead than as a rape victim when they try to ban fiction with rape but not murder. This is not an uncommon sentiment among other survivors I know.

4) The FBI is evil. Prisons and institutionalization are evil. If you want MORE online surveillance because of shipcourse, if you want fandom aunties locked in jails or asylums… I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are young and still developing your opinions. But if you cross a certain line of puritanical authoritarian bootlicking, you are getting blocked.

If you forced me to label myself with the shipcourse terminology I know, I would call myself antiship (I reserve the right to think a ship is gross and/or morally harmful), pro-fiction (you should be allowed to write triggering content, as long as you properly warn for common triggers), and pro-survivor (discourse around how to treat triggering subjects in fiction should center the needs of survivors, not exclude us).

I am firmly anti-cop/anti-prison/anti-psychiatry. I will use the block button if you think shipcourse makes statements like “you should be locked up” okay.
