WOW THIS TOOK SO LONG- But it was worth it! Also, anatomy was NOT my friend during this. XD

SO here is a stack of all of the Leos (from comics, at least) that inspired me to make my own comic. They are actually stacked in the order I found them! Thank you all for creating such unique and amazing comics and being amazing! I tried to get all the Leo's color pallets accurate to the ones used in their respective comics! Cass Apocalyptic series by @somerandomdudelmao For being the comic artist that got me into tmnt in the first place. Your AU is not only the base of my love of TMNT, but also one of the biggest supports for this entire fandom- so, naturally, he is the base of this stack!

2 Arms Left by @intotheelliwoods Sweet bean Poptart is next. An absolute gem of a comic! Also... beetle saga is one of the few comics that made me bust out laughing. I loved that SO much.

Gemini by @tangledinink Your art style. Oh my gosh, I cannot get enough! And the amount of amazing comics under your belt? You amaze me.

Separated Leo AU by @dianagj-art I started reading your comic shortly after I got REALLY into TMNT and your comic has been the BIGGEST inspiration on my comic. I love your murder gremlin so much. (also yes, One is bragging that he is above Gemini)

Tentative Devotee by @s0fti3w1tch Omg omg your artstyle? SO SQUSHY. I love your Leo's design and the idea is soooo cute!

Life Mission: Save My Brothers by @daedelweiss Wow. Just wow. This comic is so well put together and professional looking it still impresses me. I was there for the premier of the trailer and I couldn't stop gushing about it all night!

Empyrean Weeping by @cupcakeslushie Ohhhh I am a sucker for angst and you DELIVERED. Your Donnie design is still one of my absolute favorites. I found your comic VERY late, but I am SO glad I did!

Kid Leo AU by @angelpuns Loved your comic so much when I found it- you draw all the turtles so adorably! I also am having so much fun in the collab meeting everyone, and I cannot thank you enough for letting me join!

i love lord huron! what are the songs you've been listening to?

oh hiiiiiii! hello!

um. long post below. I have so many lord huron thoughts ahahahah

not to be the most insufferable person known to humankind but I've been listening to them since lonesome dreams (2012) and it is STILL my favorite album by them! even though strange trails (2015) is an absolute masterpiece and also incredible!

unfortch ben has taken the band's sound in a direction that I think is a bit more ballad-y (which I kind of blame on the popularity of "the night we met" :/ thanks 13 re*sons why) and also less lush (like... the instrumentation on lonesome dreams and strange trails is so layered and textured and brings in these evocative, atmospheric sounds that create such velvety soundscapes...)

I enjoyed vide noir (2018) but it is NOT in my listening rotation at all, though I really enjoy "lost in time and space" and both parts of "ancient names."

when it comes to long lost (2021) I found the record palatable but forgettable. I feel like they've lost some of the unique sounds that really MADE their music. the theremin in strange trails was an inspired choice, for example. long lost incorporates a lot of strings, which I do like in music, but that's kind of it. it's just sort-of-standard slow, ballad-y rock.

what happened to the literal sounds of the ocean and the jungle drums that were in the Mighty EP? that HAUNTING harmonica and cymbals in lonesome dreams? the HOWLING? the theremin, castanets, and crackling old radio sounds from strange trails (their dorky little homemade old radio they lugged around for the strange trails tour was so cute). all these elements added SOOOO much to the music! they were my favorite band (and maybe still are, my answer depends on the day) for so long.

lord huron used to have this really dreamy soundscape and they have LOST IT and I am SAD ABOUT IT. I'm so glad I saw them twice during the strange trails tour. I also saw them more recently during the long lost tour and while I didn't love the setlist as much, ben's stage presence has really improved and he seemed very comfortable, which was nice!

OKAY ENOUGH WHINING here's my lord huron favorites:

again, I love lonesome dreams The Most (it's The Album of My Heart) and I lowkey have a whole fic idea inspired by it. listening to "The Ghost on the Shore" on the banks of Lake Huron at the twilight hour last summer was a transformative experience for me.

I could eat that whole album but my favorites are totally "Lonesome Dreams," "Lullaby," "Brother," and "The Man Who Lives Forever." all four of those have been on heavy rotation this summer. I was also really grateful when they released "Setting Sun" on spotify finally so I could stop listening to it on youtube lol.

as for strange trails, "Fool for Love" ran in my veins for my entire college career but I deeply love the whole album. "Meet Me in the Woods," "Hurricane," and "Way out There" are some of my favorites, but I also think "The World Ender" is inspired.

idk what I love most about any piece of media is it having that specific quality that grabs you by the yoke and yanks you into its world, and I think ben struck gold with the first two albums (and the mighty EP), which have such developed and distinctive soundscapes that fully immerse you into the literal story he's trying to tell. his comic book for the events of strange trails is deeply endearing to me haha. idk I'm SOOOOO normal about this band and what they were doing with their early work. I really am curious about where the band will go next!

(Why does the Patrick show convey cute younger SpongeBob better than Kamp Koral, which is about cute younger sponge Bob? He is always adorable but y’know) anyway cherish the Spinge may he and his friends be happy

His design in the patrick star show is god tier. Its soooo cute. It was designed by Sherm Cohen who worked on the show in the early seasons.

I admit I was hoping his patrick star show designed was more nerdy. Like that nerdy teenage sponge photo spongebob showed in goons on the moon. But the patrick star show design was just too cute to stay sad about.

Anyways idk kamp koral is more like a spongebob 2 (Doug Lawrence literally called that) kamp koral spongebob just doesn't have much to him. You remove SB's adult traits (what made him so iconic was being an adult with childish traits) you're just left with a regular kid. That wouldn't be bad on its own. But they disnt really replace his adult traits. He just feels like a more bare bones version of spongebob. We don't see much cool firsts (maybe jellyfishing but we know he's going to achieve that regardless as an adult, so there's no mystery or anything to it, would've been better to see WHY he loves jellyfishing so much and reveal stuff that we wouldn't get to see in the main series)

There's just not much to it. His design isn't much spectacular. He just looks like a smaller spongebob. His movie design was at least a little more unique. His tv show design looks too similar with his regular adult self look.

That's not even mentioning how the atmosphere of kamp koral is just regular spongebob without the advantages of adulthood. Sponge can't explore his surroundings as freely because he's a child. He's kept within the kamp. It feels pretty limited. He's in the spotlight just the same as the main series but he can't do as much. It's like a more limited main series. Half the time the episodes feel like a watered down version of the main series.

We don't get to see spongebob as much in the patrick star show but when we do, it feels pretty special. I think its an advantage that the show is from Patrick's pov. We get to see things through his eyes and we get to see sponge when he's not in the spotlight to the viewer. He isn't as excitable. He's cool and calm but he's a pretty amusing teenager to watch. He's also still in that half way point where he's not quite an adult but not quite a child like in the main series. We get to see his cool firsts. First time driving a boat. His interest in trying to get a job. Him being sorta fixated on spatulas. Him seeing a pineapple for sale. But he's not the focus. We see more geeky traits shine through like his love of comic books which doesn't get touched as much in the main series as often. He's more down to earth and a bit timid in the patrick show which is nice to see. He comes off as much much cuter.

Also while we're in bikini bottom. It feels different since everything is sorta bended to how patrick sees things. So there's stuff you usually wouldn't see. And while they're still kids, they aren't as limited as little kids are. They can walk around and explore. Literally taking a time machine to the past xD there's more possibilities for story telling.

I know its not a huge comparison but the small differences really sell his character for me and he feels more like someone you'd actually be friends with in the patrick show.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)

Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for adventure has taken its toll when he learns that he has burnt through eight of his nine lives. Puss sets out on an epic journey to find the mythical Last Wish and restore his nine lives.

JayBell: I confess, I haven’t watched any of the other Puss in Boots movies. I’m a fake fan. But I heard so many good things about this movie, and I admit, I’m a sucker for like unique or just cool animation styles.

My favorite character of this movie by far is Perrito. He’s just so cute and sad and tragic. He’s a perfect counterpart to Puss in Boots and Kitty who can be so negative. I think the characters in the story are solid. Although John Mulaney as the villain really traumatized me. Whoever created his character design is a monster.

The wolf villain was cool. I like the way whistling and the heartbeat raised the tension of all of the encounters between Puss in Boots and the wolf. Although I do wish they gave him a bit more of a motivator. Like he is after Puss because he is too nonchalant with the lives that he was given? Or because he was given so many lives in general? It’s just strange that after all this time (8 lives) he decides he has had enough of Puss’s shit.

Lots of humor (love the Puss/Pickles bit), some action, great character arcs, unique animation style, lots of heart--what more could you ask for in a kids movie?

Rating: 6.5/10 cats 🐈

Anzie: I was really excited for this movie bc usually all the Dreamworks/shrek stuff has good humorous nonsense throughout. That being said I figured the 13th Puss in Boots movie would be a good time. And I liked it, but it was ummmm, kinda, absolutely unhinged. But, yeahhh, it was good.

I was sooo excited for John Mulaney to be voicing a character, only to totally dislike his character Jack Horner- but I just think hearing his voice behind an animation is too weird for me. Annnyways I hattttted Goldilocks and the the bears- like pllllsss murder me. Ohhh speaking of murder the whole Death thing with Puss and the Wolf- I get it he’s a cat- nine lives yada yada, but ummm it’s a bit stalkerish of the Wolf the whooole time to then just being completely anticlimactic at the end and kinda giving in???? And the the real scumbag of the movie still is Jack Horner??? IDK!?! ooo and Perito. He’s soooo cute and he’s sooo funny with his little bleeps and his big eyes. The sock story is just a bit too dark. This was supposed to be made for kids right?? Bc I’m on the verge of a crisis with Death chasing Puss in Boots and him having panic attacks and now this little dog is too innocent to know he got ditched in a real bad way?? I can’t. It’s too much. But whatever. What do I know. The end there’s a good message that you’ve got all you need and don’t need a magic shooting star to make your wishes come true blahblah blah. (I think it would be nice tho)

I really enjoyed the change in animation style when there was a fight scene or like a fast motion scene and so it kinda looked like a painting or comic-ish. (But the singing in the first scene takes it down a point-sooorrry.)

*Omigggawd I just wanted to know which # puss in boots this is and it’s the “6th” installment of a shrek franchise but only the 2nd puss in boots movie!! 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱That doesn’t feel right but whatever. I’m gonna ignore the fact that the first and only movie was 11 years ago before I feel like throwing up.

@spiriitsandsuch: Doesn't post Banana Fish content as often anymore (I think he's on Mob Psycho 100 right now), but still worth following for the art! His style is really cool, something I recognize immediately when I see it and I just LOVE.

It’s been a couple weeks since the event ended, and now that I can breathe again, I wanted to come up with a list of fics and art that I really liked (and I’m sorry if this gives you an insight into my tastes 🙈). The list is in no particular order, and I have brief descriptions of the fics. I apologise in advance for the inevitable wall of text.

This is by no means a definitive list, we had 120 (AWESOME) entries in the collection on AO3, and several others that were shared only on the Discord server. These are just the AO3-based ones I like right now. If you enjoy my picks (mind the tags on some of these), do check out the rest too!

From the Deep by Sholeh675 (Solange956). Nicky rescues a giant octopus. Which turns out to be an alien. With tentacles. I love this because it reminds me of a certain Gintama doujin *cough cough*.

Joe and Nicky’s Excellent Journey by ejdominus. A choose-your-own-adventure fic, where you follow Joe and Nicky as they jump through dimensions and encounter different versions of themselves. I know how hard ejdominus worked on this fic, and it is soooo worth it!

They Meet in Berlin by fishie_scribbles. A newly married Joe carries out a steamy, years-long affair with a mysterious stranger. This story is dark, angsty, and loaded with feels. Oooh, the feels!

Hot Mess Supernatural Threat Eliminators: Sexventures of Malik & Guido by loflight501. From the author of A Leap of Faith, comes a series featuring my new favourite crossover pairing. Super kinky and super romantic!

let yourself go by ejdominus and mildlyhorrific. This is a WIP but ohmaigawd, it is so good. The story is super well-written (mind the tags!), and worth following if you are into really dark fics with a cat-and-mouse theme.

Little Animal Disaster by o_psique and Harucm. This WIP fic is in Spanish, and features comicsverse Joe and Nicky in a College AU. It’s also omegaverse! Also, check out their other Spanish-language fics from the collection!

I've Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth by primo_nizzuto. I like Majid/Fabio, but this fic presents an angsty twist, where Majid feels drawn towards Fabio’s weaker twin brother Cesare. The feels!

Love At First Time by yonge_sonne. A super interesting, and super kinky omegaverse fic with a really unique twist on the whole size kink thing. Like, really unbelievably hot and dirty!

Recalescence by quincette. It’s got magic, it’s got omegaverse, and it’s got forbidden romance! It’s a WIP, but I really recommend you following this one, as well as the author’s other WIP fic Bits & Glimpses, a kinky gloryhole dating app fic.

Passion by LumusWinter. An omegaverse fic where sex pollen triggers Joe’s rut, and a virgin omega Nicky has to save him. Repeatedly. With sex.

And Let My Cry Come Unto Thee by yusufs-stew-of-romance (Orientation). A sexy, supernatural-themed fic where an exorcist Nicky battles a sex demon that has possessed his friend Joe, a man he secretly loves. So good! Also, check out the author’s other fic, a super hot FMM threesome between Joe, Nicky and Nile!

Of Forbidden Pleasures by Anonymous. A fic that somehow manages to imbue the acts of fisting and lactation with romance? Ohmaigawd, yessss!!!

The Holy by Ealasaid. These two fics are short, but packed with emotion. There’s also a bit of necro in there, which may not be for everyone, but I certainly like it.

We Found Love In An Invarrie Place by Claire. I have watched this fic spark and bloom on the server, and ohmaigawd, everyone should read it. It’s very, very kinky and also very, very romantic!

your scars remember healing by dana_norram. The prequel to the amazing Wistful is the rain, I could feel my heart squeeze so many times reading it. It’s so angsty, but full of hope.

ART

The Adventures of StickFigure!Joe and StickFigure!Nicky by Claire. Most of these are in the collection, and they are hilarious!

You steal my body and worship it, This is what it is to love an artist and Pas de trois + No. 13, the 4th movement by linx91. All of these are super sexy!

Local Tentacle Man Falls in Love by beeans. Ohmaigawd, so cute!

Harem, Heat, Lingerie, Nipple play and Pet play by carocchi. I love the pink tones and the sexy mood!

Which Time in Malta? by shatterthefragments. This is a mix of fics and art, and I just love the simple hand-drawn, hand-painted nature of them.

The Perfumer and Sweet bun(s) by Somberio. A dark moodboard and a sexy bunny art!

I wanna be a champion, I wanna be a loser by GioTanner. A naughty pharaoh/centurion comic!

The more the merrier by Fancy_Dragonqueen. Lots of Marwans, one Nicky. Enough said.

Scarecrow Artist Spotlight 2021

For a few years now, I’ve been making an annual spot about various artists and creatives within the Scarecrow fandom. It’s been three years and I just had to do it again for 2021. This lists is for current and active users within the community, but don’t fret, even if they haven’t been mentioned here, they were probably mentioned in previous years!

@waiting4codot Codot is one of the great, his voice acting is amazing -- I mean his Crane won me over when he comes to southern accents. he’s also a real sweet person I have the pleasure calling my friend.

@acrylic-kettle absolute amazing sketch artist, she creates some really fantastic sketches that are so lovely and cute! Love it!

@pinkninjaarts They don’t update as often anymore, but I am always presently surprised when they do! Their artwork is top notch, and one of my personal favorite style wise. It’s worth going through their tags for all thing Scarecrow!

@applecoreart Now, I may be biased, but her art makes me swoon. It’s soooo lovely and looks like a real cartoon screenshot! Amazing and fantastic!

@sinistarz Sin is another big time favorite, his sketches and artworks are amazing, and so well stylized it’s like he worked on the cartoon! He draws bar none, the best btas Crane

@rooka-uwu Rooka has toe most charming art style, I love everything they create! It’s honestly so pretty and cute!

@blanchebees Super amazing and skilled, they draw some of the most handsome Cranes and I admire their level of color detail.

@inkdrawndreamer Clover does some cool af sketches, and their grunge-y line quality is amazing, so rough but in the best way! Great stuff!

@finzphoenix I adore their work so much, the inking is exquisite and so very clean! I admire that level of skill!

@enigmamuse Muse is so cool, and his art style is very unique mix of comic styles and realism. Such a creative artist!

@pidgeydraws and last but not least, Pidgey! They have such a lovely art style, it’s really something you have to see!

By accident, Clark finds himself pushed into the spotlight and new found fame. To him, Let’s Plays are a means to stay in touch with friends and to make money. He never got into LPing to become famous.

Bruce, who funded the game after Jason’s accident, is irritated (not jealous) that a video game player is such a big topic among the kids. After the nth time they mention him, Bruce decides to take matters into his own hands and see what all the fuss is about.

(He's basically Batman's Lois Lane) Meant to be set in the Dawn of Justice movie universe, but also draws inspiration from video games, comics, and those awesome Batman cartoons.

This is part of a series, but this is the main fic of it. Love this trope of Clark is just a civilian and Bruce is Batman. Warning this fic does contain disturbing topics so read the tags.

Lisa belongs to @ lisaladvi (IG). Shes such a tiger and godmother, but under that fierce eyes, she’s very compassionate and wants to protect everyone she can. How can we not love a hero like that!

Izem belongs to @vkusnodonis. She has a unisex type of beauty, and the more I get to know her, the more I fall in love with her nature! She’s very dynamic. Quiet but passionate; peaceful but would stand her ground so firmly; rational yet very easily embarassed.... all of these makes her so lovable!

Nell belongs to @greyhands. I think she might be the first mc I saw, I’m not exactly sure, but the moment I saw her, I fall in love with her! The details, the designs. The aesthetic looks like she’s straight from the game! And I just LOVE how soft and yet determined she looks! I can totally imagine her arguing with Asra while Asra coward into the corner lol.

Julith belongs to @jyuukichannart. She’s lively and passionate about life, an attitude that I wish I can have no matter under what circumstance. I think this may be why people love her so much too.

Eris belongs to @ savenkey (IG). She’s also one of the first mc I got to know in this fandom. She looks very demanding and high maintenance, but under that skin she’s very caring and understanding.The way she interacts with Lucio melts my heart everytime 🥰

RD belongs to @wolfbatspace. They are like this cute friend everyone enjoys teasing, but if someone actually hurt him, they’ll fight an army to protect their little bean RD.

Lazarus belongs to @soleiluos (IG). He’s cute and sweet, but kind of chaotic sometimes. I wish we’ll get to see more of him and Portia’s interaction in the future.

Caragh belongs to @guhzoontight. I’ve wanted to draw her for a while, and I finally did! she seems full of attitude and her comic is always so fun to read.

Prim belongs to @hoopsies. She seems cool and almost too rational most of the time, but sometimes showing a bit of her soft side. It’s no wonder people are so drawn into her! She’s full of wonder and we all want to learn more about her!

Isha belongs to @bastart13. Isha gave me the feeling of a pacific that I think even when Lucio accidentally knock over them, they would just stare angrily, maybe a line of warning, and that’s all.

Nikki belongs to @ninniworld1988 (IG). She’s very sweet and considering, and will always give you the support you need! We just love a positive character like her!

Eize belongs to @eiizera (IG). She is strong and very reliable, totally someone I’d wish to befriend with in real life!

Clara belongs to @dreamer-rena-artz. She’s beautiful and sassy. Very sassy LOL, and I think that’s what’s cute about her! That’s why her love is so precious! And if you are so lucky to have her love, you better cherish it!!!

Maya belongs to @blue.loves00 (IG). She’s a cute mc who seems a little shy. Every one of her CG is so beautiful and warm, and I’m always happy when they make a new post about Maya.

Onoraa belongs to @maffidraws. At first glance she looks cute and harmless, but I think she’s secretly VERY sassy. Her meme comics always make me burst out laughing.

Arkius belongs to @chocogummiesx. He is hot. period..... no I’m joking 😂!! He seems cool and kind of rebellious, and that’s one of my favorite combo for character designs! The CGs they made? omg it’s one artist we need to appreciate!!

Tatianna belongs to @wackycherry. She’s one hot pirate queen who has strong attitude and you don’t want to cross! But under that fierce look, she’s very caring and protective to those she cares.

Sil belongs to @silvester69sil (IG). He is an adorable boy who loves smooching (I think). I wish his artist parent would draw them more, so we get to know this cutie more!

Reina belongs to @rachel_doodles_ (IG). She’s so confident and energetic that I just love her vibe!

Delilya belongs to @the_citrouille (IG). She’s so gentle and elegant, like a big sister we can rely on!

Venefica belongs to @sadbeansoup (IG). She looks like an experience warrior that I wish we’d see more of her story!

Prentiss belongs to @arcanaprentiss. One of the first mcs I found too! Her story is a little sad, and when I found Prentiss, I just finished Julian’s reverse end, so it kind of cured my soul a little bit.

Leonor belongs to @starry-arcana. SHE. IS. ADORABLE! But she doesn’t need anyone to protect her! If you think she’s an easy target? Good luck lol.

Phoenix belongs to @joandarkart. I love how he is so colourful and lively. He gets hotheaded very easily, with Julian by his side, they are a pair of loose canon (omg). Just imagine the troubles they could get into makes me wanna laugh.

Julianne belongs to @timmys-and-scribbles. Also one of the first mcs I found!! Her little moments with Julian are so cute that I just slowly fall in love with her! And though she looks calm and peaceful, she gets fluster so easily and that’s super adorable.

Kiki belongs to @frozen_mocha_latte (IG). She’s very chill and chill and supportive, though sometimes she can get hotheaded! She likes to tease Julian so much and it’s super satisfying to see him blush😩👌

FIRST OFF

Whenever I go back to pause things for clues, and find exactly what I’m looking for, I don’t feel justified, I feel that much more insane:

It’s really hard to make out, but I had an alright look at it on my folks’ QLED, and it’s definitely a flying saucer doing an alien abduction on what looks to be a person inside an old CRT TV (with some kind of robot head/boombox on top???) There are secret aliens in this show, you guys, the facts don’t lie.

HmmmMMMM I wonder if Agnes is as innocent as she looks:

Also, I didn’t see that she was wearing the brooch in this ep, and I was majorly disappointed in that.

I know green is his color or whatever, but that hat is literally 10 years ahead of its time

Also, I took the playing-DDR-at-home scenario at face value, and only on the first rewatch did I realize it was a very pointed turn-of-the-century reference. I am an Old.

There’s a good, subtle Rule of Threes in this ep. The Setup:

The Sokovian Halloween flashback works on so many levels. It’s so funny:

The fact that they went trick-or-treating at all

The “speaking Sokovian”

The treat being a fish

They have to share the fish

The concept that this event gave them an infectious disease

“You probably suppressed a lot of the trauma” -- it’s a good sitcom joke but. the trauma is the joke. The joke IS THE TRAUMA!!!

Elizabeth Olson is a dream with all her wonderful faces she has this ep.

Vision’s unsettling passive-aggression-sitcom-cooperation whiplash is WOW, consider me unsettled!!!!!! “Be. Good.” UGH.

(Just noticed one here, but there are a number of continuity errors in this episode, enough to be distracting later on, and is this a deliberate choice? Please let it be deliberate. I didn’t watch a whole lot of Malcolm in the Middle, is it known for its continuity errors?

“It’s their first Halloween.” LOLOLOL they are TEN YEARS OLD and this is their FIRST halloween I LOVE IT

DOUBLE RED HERRING CONFIRRRRRRRRMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agent Jimmy Woo accidentally identifying himself as the sassy best friend added 20 years to my life.

Found. FOUND. Not “created,” “manifested,” “willed into being using my insane witch powers.” Third Party Confirmed.

I like that it’s the 90s and we can swear on TV now. “Hell” “kick-ass” “damn it” “fu---dge”

I think the most biting part of Vision finding the whacked out folks is that the soundtrack just kind of ... ignores that anything’s wrong. Yeah, it’s kinda-spooky Halloween music, but it’s still 100% in-world kinda-spooky-sitcom-Halloween-episode music.

OKAY LET’S TALK ABOUT THE AD:

As a 90s child, let me tell you, this is a blisteringly accurate representation of children’s marketing from the period. The shark is wearing sunglasses AND he has a surfboard!!! And he’s selling you yogurt of all things!!!!! This is the supreme distillation of what being a child in the 90s was like.

How disappointed I am that they went with crab instead of lobster.

Heard it through the grapevine that this is a representative of Wanda’s imprisonment on the Raft. That happened in Civil War, right? So the next ad is The Snap? We’re running out of iconic decades, too. so, hold on, new thought.

90s: Civil War

00s: Infinity War

10s?????: Endgame???? or?????????

??: Whatever happened between Endgame and WandaVision, given that the ads are stepping forward through Wanda’s IRL life events!!

I don’t want to know how many episodes are planned/announced, but I don’t know what to expect from the format after they run out of decades from which to draw. Maybe there are only one or possibly two “sitcom” episodes left. Maybe after that it just breaks down and they can pick and choose from the worlds/styles we’ve already established. That’d be p neat. A very unique kind of chaos.

Okay, somebody explain to me Pietro. I honestly walked away from last week thinking he was just some townsperson chump, but then I was reminded that this is the Quicksilver actor from all those X-Mans movies I never watched, soooo people are saying Multiverse Confirmed? But, if this is X-Mans’ Pietro, then why did he die the same as MCU Pietro? Or is he literally MCU!Pietro’s corpse, given that he looked all dead same as when she saw Vision’s corpse? If MCU!Pietro, then why different face???

Also I found him highly suspicious, what with all the questions he was asking. But the only sort of person who would truly want to know the answers to those questions would be someone who already had them ... so I think he was just asking on behalf of the audience, and the delivery was all wonked out.

Rule of Threes - The Reference:

Ok, real talk, whenever computers/networks/data/encryption/servers/mainframes et al come up in mainstream media, I just look away. I don’t need the kind of psychic damage that comes with such egregious mishandling of the topic.

That being said, does Hayward having eyes through the barrier mean that he could possibly be involved in getting it set up? Because look. If Hayward-after-Hayward’s-Villianous-Ends is one antagonizing force, then is there really room for the Third Party (Confirmed) antagonizing force that’s lurking in the negative space silhouette of the Inciting Incident? With Wanda as the Red Herring antagonizing force, that’s just. There’s just too many villains, alright? We gotta start merging these plotlines.

(then again, when I just said “eyes” I realize probably understanding the true nature of his new secret “CATARACT” project will clear a lot of things up. I’ll wait for enlightenment)

Agnes’ license plate in this episode is 0A1-B2C, which I think is a reference to the way reality is getting pared down to bare bones at the edge of town. Note that this is not the same license plate number as seen last ep.

ALSO, I drove home behind a NJ plate just an hour ago, and was staring at it for a long time, trying to fit it into the puzzle before A) realizing that this was Real Life and not part of the show and B) WTF is a NJ plate doing in front of me in California. In any case, I can confirm that NJ plates do not appear to have this number-letter repeating format.

So let’s talk Agnes.

Demonstrated knowledge of the situation in ways others haven’t (”There’s the star of the show” “kids, you can’t control ‘em”)

Shows up when needed most (explained as being Wanda’s doing, but is it)

When Wanda was having her babies, though, who was trustworthy enough to be summoned? Was it Agnes?

Wanted to babysit REAL BAD

Was in the opening credits framed possessively with the twins

Doesn’t appear to have an IRL identity according to Jimmy’s crime board

Keeps talking about her husband but we’ve never seen him. Highly unlikely that he’s real

Was the one to find Sparky “dead” - internet thinks she was lying to Wanda about how or possibly if he was dead (I’m trying not to read the theories, so idk exactly what the angle is there)

In an episode where everyone is wearing their original comic outfits, Agnes is dressed as (and laughs like!) a witch

She name-drops Wanda as the one controlling everyone; Norm (or the guy playing Norm) only said “she” and “her” -- meaning Agnes?

So we’re 99% sure Agnes is Agatha Harkness, right? I never read no comics, so I’m taking the internet’s word for it, but from what I can tell, I think we must be right. If that’s the case, then I’m thinking it’s not impossible for her to be pulling some strings around here (giving Wanda a justification for her “that wasn’t me” doorbell ring, for example, and pulling a double red herring on the fact that she shows up whenever the narrative Wanda her nefarious scheme calls for it).

To devil’s advocate myself, though, we also have Monica’s word that it was Wanda in her mind, lessening the impact of Agnes falsely confirming what Norm only implied. Also she’d have to be acting for Vision’s sake (and ours) and, if so, then what did Vision’s brain-touch really do, and how did she know he’d find her there, and what did she intend as the result of that interaction etc etc.

If Wanda’s (or Wanda + Third Party Confirmed (Agnes??)’s) powers aren’t enough to sustain the simulation of life on the edges of town, how much worse is it going to be now that there is even more area to try to control???

I don’t know if this is strictly an intended read, but the idea of Halloween as a fun, scares-for-entertainment’s sake type holiday, the rounding off the edges of concepts like “skeletons and ghosts are what people are after they die, let’s decorate the town with them and have a good time” kind of is a haunting parallel to the nature of Wanda (et al) covering up the horrible truth of the situation with this happy-go-lucky sitcom glamour.

How much does one hate seeing Vision giving his life for the greater good (the greater good) for the second time? In other news, I think I’m seeing some specifically Mind Stone type energy-colors coming off of him, and very little Wanda type energy-colors. Third Party Confirmed.

Also, I was thinking from last week that perhaps Hayward’s Villainous Ends included capturing the reanimated Vision to be one of those Sentient Weapons his organization is all about, but I Do Not Think his reaction to seeing that sought-after prize disintegrate in front of his eyes really matches up with that theory. Again, will be patiently waiting for Jimmy to check his email to see what CATARACT is all about!

Ok, final thought. I watched this about four times today, and on the big-ass TV at my parents’ house finally paused and got up close to see what that white shape is in the reflection. Thought it might be a skull, but, it’s worse.

This is my favorite show Of All Time.

Watching your speed painting is so fascinating, idk how you do it, but you’re always killing it every time (Like our process is so different, so it was really interesting to see how you approach your works you know?). @chaotickatts - HQ!! I am so in love with Katts, you all. I had never seen anyone draw like this, her style is really unique. I can go on forever about why I love your art, but one of the biggest things that drew me to your style is the way you draw bodies. I like the variation and realistic details you include, for instance, I absolutely adore the way you gave Sakusa more moles on his body, and the way you drew dad bod Osamu. Idk, I think there’s so many different types of body shapes and details out there, and it brings me joy to see you being so inclusive of them in your art.

@namusw - Hunter x Hunter. Was drawn to their Hunter x Hunter works and I don’t even watch/read that manga. Honestly, just check them out, I love everything about their works, they are also a killer at both traditional and digital styles. This piece of Hisoka, Illumi, and Chrollo was the one that made me fall in love.

@cranbearly - HQ!! I really adore the way they draw expressions and their coloring style (inspired me to attempt some flat coloring). This piece of Oikawa and Iwa made me follow them instantly. Expressions are so difficult to nail, and you’ve done such an amazing job conveying every emotion the characters are feeling, I’ve learned so much just from looking at your works, so thank you for blessing us with your craft.

@a-zebra-was-here - HQ!! Their art has a very carefree type of vibe and their coloring style brings me so much joy. I’ve really enjoyed your drawings of the Miyas’, this piece of the twin was what got me, and this other piece, the first image of young Miyas’ was so SO well done, I am in love with the way you colored that. 😻

@erionmakuo - Various, dude....I want to cry, I don’t even know what to say, EVERY SINGLE PIECE of your artworks just BLOWS ME AWAY. Yea, your art captures that really well. These two pieces of Kuroo returning home with his groceries and of him taking a day nap with his cats was what had drawn me to you.

@queenoftheantz - HQ!!, Various, Their style is really unique, it kind of reminds me of an adventurous graphic novel or something you would see on Cartoon Network (idk, I thought of Chowder, but please, I really mean it as a compliment, I just really love the fun cartoon style you have.) They also do some animations! I really love this piece of Kyotani you did, the landscape and colors look SOO GOOD!!

@diabolism666 - HQ!!, c’mon, you can’t be in the HQ!! fandom without at least seeing one of their artworks. In fact, I had seen your art even before I’ve gotten into this show, and it was love at first sight, lemme tell ya. EVERY. SINGLE. THING. you had drawn are so good, it doesn’t even matter if it’s a more simplistic drawing or elaborate one, I am just always staring at it in awe. Thank you for being so incredibly active about it too, idk how, but you’ve produced so many amazing drawings and we’re just incredibly grateful for it. You draw some of best Tendou, Reon and Toshi out there. Your works have so much range, I really feel like you can draw ANYTHING hahaha.

I don’t even watch Fullmetal Alchemist, but this piece you did of Edward and Winry made me fall so deeply in love with your works. Your style has a certain softness to it, even when it is of an angry character, and I love it.

@nipuni - Various, another artist that I am incredibly nervous to tag because your works are just out of the world. You also seem so so nice and is always incredibly helpful whenever anyone sends you an ask. Just...I have the biggest crush on you and your works. EVERYTHING you had drawn is so stunning, and I mean it. The details, pose, composition, and coloring, it is just so perfect, I could pull up particular artworks, but I was really blessed by it all at once. If you are into fantasy-esque realistic looking portraits, check her out, she exudes so much knowledge and talent.

@hinamihere - HQ!!, Your artworks are soo stinkin adorable. Your color choices, expressions and the way you draw hair is just so cute, your art always bring the biggest smile to my face. This piece you did of Akaashi and Bokuto was what drew me to you, when I saw it, I “awhhh”ed so loudly, my hubby had to ask me what’s up, and when I showed it to him, he had the same reaction, even if he’d never seen Haikyuu!!

@oxxuri - BNHA, so SO good, the way you color, light, and draw is so beautiful. Every single detail, down to every lashes and strands of hair is so beautiful. You draw some of the most attractive faces I had ever seen, these drawings of Aizawa and Midoriya brings me so SOOOO much joy, and I don’t even know anything about BNHA.

@amezure - HQ!!, their comic strips always make my day, I was giving their blog a peep so I can pull up specific examples and my statement is instantly confirmed when I stumbled across their newest comic art of Kuroo and Bokuto and started laughing HAHA. 😂 Your self study sheets are incredibly informative and I find myself referencing them often, it’s so nice to see my favorite artists continue to polish their craft through endless amounts of studying, practice, and analysis. It serves as a constant reminder for myself to do the same. I love the way you draw people (check out this piece of Bokuto x Akaashi), but I ESPECIALLY love the way you draw animals. (Specifically anything that has to do with lil owl Bo and Akaashi 🥺)

@obobro - Avatar the Last Airbender, HQ!!, I am absolutely in love with the way you color and draw portraits. Your drawing and detailing has so much range; you have a series of hand drawings, and that alone already displays so SO much range. I was really drawn in by this drawing of Tsukki, Zuka + Azula, and of Sokka + Katara, you can really tell they were related and I love it so much. Your art has so much life to it, it’s truly fascinating.

ok, time for a semi-thought out review-spoilers below

I knew that the captain badge thingy Lunaris gave Penny (I shall use this nickname because her name is too damn long) was some type of control device. That scene reminded me too much of Mark giving Gizmoduck that Waddle badge for it to just be a coincidence.

I am LIVING for Lunaris’ dramatic, theatrical voice! He is 100% THAT BITCH

You know you’re in for a good time when Dewey and Webby team up. I guess old men in Disney shows CAN’T have models in bottles.

The different family members that Scrooge has pictures of all over are super sweet. No matter what he claims, Scrooge is a family man.

It’s super cute that Huey was sending postcards. He’s a good boi.

I wonder if Donald’s head is that hard or if the cell walls are really soft.

I bet those visors on the helmets that go over the Moonlander’s eyes are some kind of mind-control devices

I think Lunaris WANTED Donald and Penny to find his secret war room. He sensed her hesitation. Plus if Donald was SO IMPORTANT TO him, Lunaris probably would have taken Donald to the mines personally.

It made me very happy to see Lunaris continue to get beat up. Not as tough as you act, ya bastard. And he’s a dumbass for not using the dummy first, then testing on one of the moon mites, and ENDING with himself. Do you even science, bro?

The pic of Donald with the eggs warmed my heart. :’)

It’s adorable that Dewey thinks that he’s a detective/spy and that he could get the jump on anyone, much less Webby.

I really feel like Donald is the best fighter in the show. Even when he’s in pretty bad shape, Donald can take a punch without getting KO’d. He’s good at evading hits. Jim and Drake may be able to take more damage, but Donald can avoid getting hurt in the first place. Well, at least in a fight.

Lunaris is what Magica and Glomgold think they are. He’s cold, calculating, and organized. He can get inside someone’s head to find out how they work. He knows a person’s emotional weakness and will dig into it. I think Donald might end up throwing off his game because Donald reacts much differently to emotional stress than most. Others breakdown and are at their most vulnerable. But Donald channels the emotions into energy and is arguably at his most powerful.

I think Webby may have a problem remembering what is real and what she made up.

Dewey might have the same problem.

Scrooge, you need to accept the you are old. OLD AS BALLS.

The #1 therapist mug is great. I also like that they once again took a character from the comics and gave them an upgrade. Though Mr. Jones seems like he should be in anger management as well.

If we needed anymore proof that Donald is a FUCKING FORCE OF NATURE, Mr. Jones’ office gives us a pretty good idea of what Donald is capable of. Little guy can pack a punch.

That speech, man. That PERFECTLY explains who Donald is and why he does what he does. I cried when Mr. Jones was explain how much Donald loves his family overlayed with Donald himself backing up those words. POETIC CINEMA! T_T

Donald out-maneuvering Lunaris shows what Donald is best at-reading a situation and adjusting his tracticts/plan. He’s pretty good at thinking on his feet and unlike the majority of the other characters, Donald knows when he’s out-matched. That’s why he and Della were such a good team. Della was the brawn while Donald was the brains.

DONALD IS TOO STUBBORN TO DIE. And Moony is soooo in there with him.

Seriously though, Scrooge is kind of a prick in this episode. He brushes off a lot of stuff about Donald, like the therapy. I hope this is leading to something like Grunkle Stan and Dipper, that Scrooge is hard on Donald because he sees a lot of himself in his nephew. Both have anger issues and both have unique speech pattern. I’m sure Scrooge has dealt with people not being understand him due to his accent many times.

I like that they didn’t make a joke out of Donald receiving therapy. If this were an “adult” show, the show/characters would probably mock Donald for going. But here it’s presented as a good thing and that Donald is mature and a good person for reaching out for help. The fact that he did it to be a better parent...SO PURE AND WHOLESOME. DONALD IS BEST DAD!

Ohhh another big favorite of mine. Okay so, this fic is actually incredibly unique in that the very center of the entire plot is the concept of sollux actually WANTING to be a helmsman? And how that affects his relationship with karkat as his kismesis? Its incredibly fascinating, i love it to pieces. Equius is also a surprisingly fitting auspitices between them in the directly sequel Party Up but thats almost entirely smut so like (👀) I think this fic is like top fucking tier dude definitely checking out if you wanna destroy your soul

WOW a Skyrim solkat fic??? My dream??? This shit it weird, cute, fantastic, karkats a badass, a dumbass, and a tightass with a heart of pure fucking gold and sollux is just trying to keep his head on his body i LOVE it. I wish sollux's lisp wasnt written out but then this fic would ascend to the heavens and destroy us all so I'm cool with it. There are Skyrim dribbles in here that really make the AU really convincing, reallyp a one of a kind
