I was listening to Sun's Help Wanted 2 voicelines again and noticed something interesting I wanna discuss (spoilers: Fazbear Entertainment is doing something shady again)
First, we need to clarify something. It pretty clear that our POV character in HW2 is an adult, and someone who works at Fazbear Entertainment. Once more, I think this minigame is supposed to be like a test simulation of how Sun would act around a child, which explains why we are a grown adult playing arts and crafts. And explains why there are no other children present. The player and Sun have to act out the situation of Arts and Crafts, as a test of some sorts, like employee training.
I think this is why Sun's personality is so inconsistent throughout the minigame. He will go from calling us his 'friend' to insulting us in a second. Sun isn't perfect, but I doubt this is how he would actually act around a child.
His personality is changing because some voicelines are him playing along with the role play, and pretending our POV character is a child. And the others are him going off-script and making jabs at Fazbear Entertainment by insulting us and our work.
This is also why he compliments our artwork and then proceeds to shred it. Because its not real, its just a role play, so there's no need to keep the artwork. I dont think he'd shred a real child's artwork. The player character probably isn't even offended by it.
No matter what DCA lore you believe, it always circles back to Sun being treated awfully by Fazbear Entertainment. Mainly, they refuse to properly fix the Moon problem and I think this explains some of Sun's weirdly out of character voicelines in this. His attitude probably stems from the fact our characters works for Fazbear Entertainment, and he has a huge grudge against the company and all who work there.
"Ha, I should turn off the lights myself."
"Do it again, and you're taking a nap."
Sun is absolutely terrified of the Moon and the dark. From all his other behaviours in other games, it doesn't make sense for him to joke about the lights going out and a child getting hurt. But if our POV character isn't a child, then it makes more sense. Since it's Fazbear Entertainment fault that Moon is so violent, he doesn't mind using some dark humour because he feels like the employee deserves it. Reaping what you sow, in a way. Sure our character is just an employee and doesn't make big decisions like that, but Sun doesn't know that and I don't really blame him for being distrusting to any adult human he meets.
A lot of people, mainly Moon fans, try to use that first line about the lights to reason that Sun isn't actually that scared of Moon. Because he can joke about it, which obviously means he would be willing to turn the lights off out of spite! And he isn't as afriad as we originally thought!
But if you listen past this line into other voicelines, you can see this obviously isn't true. At some point, Sun mentions that it will be naptime soon, and is obviously very scared. He pushes the player character to finish the art quicker and generally becomes more and more anxious and frustrated from that point onward. So it's clear he is still very afraid of Moon, and probably wouldn't be okay with our character getting murdered.
Tumblr media
(Also, literally everything that happens in the hard mode of this level confirms this.)
Anyway, this is where it gets really interesting in context. Because when he mentions it's nearing naptime he says,
"Don't work in the dark, never work in the dark."
And then, after a second, adds
"You'll...hurt your eyes if you work in the dark."
This is obviously a cover-up as to the real reason you can't work in the dark, Moon. But it's not like this employee wouldn't already know about Moon.
Tumblr media
(Probably my favourite peice of worldbuilding in SB is that Sun literally has a warning for Moon at the back of his head, so this cover-up isn't so the employee doesn't learn about Moon, because they obviously already have.)
But with the context that this is supposed to the employee acting out the role of a child, this made me realise something.
Fazbear Entertainment doesn't allow Sun to talk about Moon.
Listen to the line again, and tell me you don't hear it! It sounds like he just remembered the employee was in the room and had to add the excuse on quickly so he didn't get in trouble.
He never calls Moon by name, and always uses some sort of riddle or metaphor to explain what is happening to him. At first I thought that was just how he talked, but maybe it's because he's just not allowed to tell people whats going on!
He omniously warns Gregory to keep the lights on, but doesn't tell him why. Even when Gregory gets closer to the security desk he only says "that area is off limits" and doesn't try to explain how dire the situation really is.
Hell, even when the lights are out and he has nothing left to lose, he doesn't say anything direct about Moon that would help Gregory.
Maybe part of the reason he banned Gregory from the daycare is because he felt he had no other option, it would be pretty hard for Gregory to stay if Sun couldn't explain what just happened.
And you could make the argument that he's just trying not to freak out Gregory, but what about a situation where he has no hope of not freaking someone out? Why doesn't he say anything about Moon then, if he once again, doesn't have anything left to lose.
When he meets Cassie he says
"I am trapped in a nap!"
And in Help Wanted 2 he says
"He'll wake up if the lights go out."
Both use sleep as a metaphor for not being in control of the body, even though I highly doubt Moon is actually unconscious during these moments, since Moon always seems to know where is his target is, so I'm guessing he has Sun's memories.
Again in Ruin, he instructed Cassie to turn on the generators, warned her when it wasn't safe, and even sang a creepy metaphor-ridden version of Daisy Bell! And yet he never mentions Moon by name??
He also never mentions Eclipse by name, and instead just asks Cassie to make them "whole".
And in Help Wanted 2, there was no reason he couldn't properly explain the situation to the employee in the hard mode, since they weren't in the role play anymore.
For whatever reason, Fazbear Entertainment has pretty much brainwashed him to never directly mention Moon. I think this was probably to keep up the false narrative they have made with the Moondrop Candy posters that Moon is a good guy. And Sun telling the kids, or other people, the truth about Moon would be bad for publicity.
I feel really bad for Sun though, that he couldn't properly warn anyone if the lights were about to go out, or talk about his problems at all.
What I'm really interested in is if he has just been told not to say anything OR is there something in his coding literally stopping him from saying Moon's name. Like, if he tried, he would just go mute and not be able to talk.
Although the latter is an interesting concept, I don't think it's true.
First if all, Moon mentions Sun by name in his Ruin voicelines and I wouldn't really make sense for this coding to only apply to Sun.
Second of all, even if his code prevents him from talking about Moon, if he was really determined to say something, he could just use substitute words, write, draw, or in any other way communicate what he wants to say and bypass the coding.
No, I think it's a little more psychological. It could be possible Fazbear Entertainment has simply just told him to keep his mouth shut, and since they have control over everything in the Pizzaplex, he's too afraid to go against them. I wouldn't put it past them to threaten to turn the lights off if he speaks up either. Or to scrap him.
Sun has always had an irrational attachment to rules, which would also be explained by Fazbear Entertainments threats. He determined to keep things clean in the Daycare, but his room is an absolute mess. He doesn't bat an eye at Gregory trespassing in the Pizzaplex at night, but does care when he goes into an "off limits" area. His hypocritical and confusing take on rules can be explained by these not actually being his real opinions, but just paranoid habits brought on Fazbear Entertainment's treatment of him.
"You're gonna get us in trouble..."
As far as we know, he doesn't have any friendships with the other animatronics. And besides Moon's patrols, Sun never seems to leave the daycare. Dudes just a paranoid loser with no friends. (real)
In conclusion, fuck Fazbear Entertainment and I hope the next game involves a robot uprising of sorts.
Edit: I have no clue how forgot this, but thank you to @technowingsgs for reminding me of Sun's line,
Tumblr media
"Not me! The OTHER me!"
This is probably the most egregious and direct example of Sun refusing to say Moon's name. Since he's trying to tell Cassie that she needs to reboot Moon, but can't get away with just using a pronoun, he actually resorts to using an alias. Which may point more to the theory that its his coding that stops him from mentioning Moon, since hes ok with using an alternative name, but I'm not sure. But it could be a combination of factors.
I mean, I doubt its just that Sun doesn't know Moon's name. If MY name was SUN and I saw merch littered around the pizzaplex of a dude that looked like THIS:
Tumblr media
Wouldn't exactly take a genius to come up with a name.
Also! A lot of people were confused at this line and didn't know why Cassie couldn't just reboot Sun in his AR body. So I want to attempt to explain what I think!
It seems that, since Moon is controlling their real body, Sun's consciousness has been pushed into the AR World. And the thing about the AR World is that it isn't exactly real. MXES can't hurt you when you take the mask off, because he doesn't have a physical body, he's more of an ghost or hologram. You can walk through walls, use portals, and enter arcade machines. Overall, it's seems to be some sort of non-physical unreality.
So the reason Sun tells you to reboot Moon and not him, is because he's really talking about his physical body and his AR body. If you tried to reboot him with the Vanny mask on, it simply wouldn't work!
Tumblr media
This because you have to stick the fazwrench into his head, flip a switch, and that somehow merges Sun and Moon's code together into Eclipse. Their code is no doubt stored in a circuit board of some sorts, maybe even the one that's visible at the back of their head. All of these things are physical changes, that rely on the materials and mechanics inside his physical body. So if you tried to reboot him in a non-physical plane, it wouldn't do anything! Since AR Sun is more of a projection of his consciousness, like a ghost, and isn't fully connected to his corporeal body. Thus, the fazwrench couldn't reach the necessary code inside his circuit boards. That's why he asked you to turn the lights on, so Moon would freeze up and you could safely reach him.
That, and the game would be too easy if you didn't have to turn on the generators to freeze Moon! Sorry if that segment was too technical, I waffled on a bit.

One thing that bugs me about after school special is that the dude they casted for "teen" Dean is literally a decade older than young Sam. He was closer in age to Jensen than to Colin. Normally I wouldn’t gaf (none of the younger Dean actors ever hit the mark for me so it is what it is), but combined with the episode’s complete lack of empathy for his situation as a parentified child, it feels more insidious. It frames him as way older than he really is, and in a way normalizes his parentification. If they had casted an actual 16 year old, their dynamic would look a lot more honest to what it truly was.
You know I'm don't think I've even fully worked out my frustrations about After School Special yet. I had to stop thinking about it last night because it was 3AM and I had to go to bed (also for more context, see posts I reblogged from Leyla last night jshdbfjhsbdfh).
This episode is just so... messy. It tries to say too many things, it says some absolutely stupid things and some okay things, and in other places, the narrative isn't clear (or maybe Dabb and Loflin are at war with one another on the subject of Dean—who knows). I find some of my frustrations and why I have those frustrations... difficult to explain in words.
That is a good point about the casting of Brock. Mind you—I have nothing against the actor here. I actually have always thought Brock did a great job copying Dean's mannerisms and way of speaking (I assume Jensen worked with him during the episode) and I think he does his best with what he's given and the role he's expected to play. The writing itself isn't his fault, of course.
From a height perspective, they wanted to intentionally contrast Dean with Sam all episode, who's being mocked by Dirk (who's paralleled with Dean and is literally our only window into sympathy toward parentified children which... isn't much at all) for being shorter than him, and I think that's part of why they chose someone much older and taller than Collin Ford.
I also don't think we're necessarily meant to dismiss the knowledge that Sam is much taller than Dean as an adult, but the thing is, if they wanted me to buy into the idea that everyone in After School Special is a bully (except maybe Barry), they did a terrible job. Sam hardly comes off as a bully—all he does is defend himself from someone who used their pain as an excuse to make his and other people's lives miserable (we get better evidence of bully!sam in their previous episode—"Yellow Fever"—actually). Is that what Dabb and/or Loflin think of Dean? That he's made Sam miserable? How? By *looks at notes* not obeying his every whim and following him around like an obedient dog, or perhaps by being dead? Hm. Except Dean doesn't even make Sam miserable in this episode (unless making jokes Sam doesn't find funny counts). Sam even picked the case they're on—Dean doesn't actually really want to go to their old school. Young Dean is reiterating that he'll look out for young Sam the entire episode.
I do think people are right when they say Dean's height (and much older appearance) are meant to reflect how Sam perceived him (After School Special is nearly fully from Sam's POV—Dean is more of a plot device than anything). Young Dean is immediately popular in school. He's handsome and makes the other kids his age laugh from the moment he enters the classroom. He immediately catches the eye of popular girls, and Barry and Sam have an exchange about it.
BARRY That's your brother with Amanda Heckerling? He's cool. YOUNG SAM Yeah. He thinks so.
Sam's paper about their werewolf hunt is, by the teacher's recounting, one where Dean shines the brightest—not Sam. He's the first thing that catches Wyatt's attention. What catches his attention second is John dragging them everywhere. Sam doesn't really factor in at all.
MR. WYATT I'm not flunking you. I'm giving you an "A." Now, aside from the werewolf, is that really how you'd describe your family? YOUNG SAM Yeah. MR. WYATT Well, your brother is quite a character. And your father -- he seems, uh, driven.
This also isn't a bad nugget about Sam, in an episode that comes right after 4.12 which is also to an extent about the desire for fame and attention and the old school versus the new school (where Sam represents the hot, new, popular magic that embraces demonic forces and is pushing out the old ways of doing things). I said 4.13 is also about envy—many of the murders are driven by projections on others. Dirk perceived Sam and Dean as "Jocks... you popular kids... you always thought you were better than everybody else." When that wasn't them at all. I've said that Sam is jealous of Dean (his bravery in combat despite zero powers, in previous seasons—his intelligence and way with people, his title as "the righteous man" while Sam is "the boy with the demon blood"). Dirk was projecting his resentments onto people they didn't apply to as a function of resentment and jealousy from the superiority he himself ultimately perceived them to possess, and that's much more reminiscent of Sam this season (we're about to see him project his insecurities on Dean and become the Big Bad Bully in the next episode—4.14):
OK, fine. You know why I didn't tell you about Ruby, and how we're hunting down Lilith? Because you're too weak to go after her, Dean. You're holding me back. I'm a better hunter than you are. Stronger, smarter. I can take out demons you're too scared to go near. [...] You're too busy sitting around feeling sorry for yourself. Whining about all the souls you tortured in hell. Boo hoo.
For Sam, After School Special isn't a terrible episode. It's just that it almost fully treats Dean as a cartoonish plot device and the neckbeard-type loathing for him almost seeps off the page even with all the nods to performing Dean you could ever want. In After School Special, Dean seems more unlike himself than any episode ever in the history of Supernatural up to this point. I do actually kind of think Dabb took one look at Dean when he came in in season 4 and decided he's a bully because he's popular based on nothing—however much he pretends he's only saying something else... and honestly I don't think he ever really got over it.

You still feel gross. A few days have passed with your cold kicking your ass but you feel like you might be getting better. Hoseok has been playing the caregiver role and making sure you're happy and comfortable. Well as happy as you can be given the circumstances.
The two of you have been spending your meal times in his room as per your request but it doesn't mean you have gone without seeing the others. Yoongi has come to see you one time while Namjoon and Taehyung have seen you a few times. If it isn't them bringing you tea it's just for them to check up on you to see how you're doing. You appreciate that, honestly. They've been really sweet with you despite you occasionally leaving them on delivered because you're too tired to check your phone.
In other news Hoseok hasn't touched you or at least he does but doesn't go through with the plan of having sex with you whenever he gives you his saliva. He says it's because he wants you to conserve your energy. Just touching you while you were high seemed to take a lot out of you and so he would pull back and just let you rest. Even in the shower he would hold off for your sake. You know he's been wanting to do more but he's been trying his best not to take it a step further.
Today, while Hoseok is out fetching you something to drink, you check your bank account. You know you're playing with fire by not putting it into use but the time to leave just doesn't feel right yet. You'll do it some day, you're sure, but for now it's a no.
There's a knock on the door and with a raspy voice you welcome them in. You doubt that it's Hoseok because he would have just come in without question.
The door creaks open before Namjoon sticks his head inside. Seeing him brings a smile to your face. One that lights up his features as well.
"Where's Hoseok," he asks.
"Getting me something to drink." You pat the spot next to you. "Come here."
He steps inside and closes the door behind him. When he comes to sit by your side his hand reaches out for yours.
"How are you feeling today, princess?"
You shrug your shoulders. "Better than the other days."
He rubs his thumb over your hand. "Still you could be better."
You smile. "Could be better."
"My brother been taking care of you?"
You look down at your combined hands with a small frown.
"Hey."
It takes you a second before you look up at him again.
"I'm sorry I can't be there for you. The way I'm sure you want me to." He licks his lips. "Can you forgive me?"
Your brows draw together. "Of course I forgive you. It's not your fault things are the way they are."
He breathes a sigh of relief and smiles. "If I could I'd be here for you every step of the way."
"I know."
There's a sorry smile he sends your way as he squeezes your hand.
You wish it were just you and Namjoon but the fact is that it's not and you have to deal with that. No matter how much you wish for something you know to not let it consume you otherwise you'd feel miserable about it. It doesn't stop you from bringing his hand up to kiss his knuckles. He smiles in response.
"What have you been up to," you ask.
"Not much. Working most of the time. Now that I don't have you to distract me," he smirks. "I've been pretty busy."
You pout as you go to pinch his hand. He hisses in pain but laughs to cover it up.
"Sorry, sorry," he says.
"If I'm that much of a distraction then why bother with me?"
Namjoon huffs a laugh. "Don't pout, princess. I'm just messing with you."
You're still pouting but the way he smiles at you lightens your mood.
"You're lucky I like you."
"That I am," he says with a smile.
Loosening his hold on you he goes to stand up. You're about to ask him where he was going but he holds a finger up to his lips. A minute later the door opens and reveals Hoseok with a tray filled with tea along with little snacks. He doesn't acknowledge Namjoon as he must have already known his brother was in here with you.
"I brought you some more tea, baby. Plus, some crackers and cheese and those little cakes you like." He smiles brightly as you sit up and take the tray onto your lap. Once you have a hold of it he straightens up and turns to his brother.
"What brings you here?"
Namjoon just shakes his head and smiles. "Was checking to see how Y/N is doing. She seems a little better than before."
Hoseok makes an "Ah" sound as he rounds the bed to sit on his side. When he's settled next to you he dabs the teabag into the cup of hot water a few times for you.
"Careful it's hot," he says softly. He looks up to Namjoon then with a smile. "How's work been? I heard there's a new dealer you're working with? How's that going?"
Your movements still for a moment at the mention of their work but you're quick to snap back and grab your tea to blow on it.
"It's going as good as it can get. Jackson recommended him and I trust Jackson enough to give the man a chance."
Hoseok hums in agreement. "It's been a while since we last saw him. We should plan a get together."
"That would be nice."
You don't know who Jackson is nor care to know but it seems Hoseok has another plan in mind.
He looks down at you with a smile and a hand to the back of your head. "One day I'll introduce you to him. He's a great friend of ours."
You take a sip of your tea and look away without a word.
We'll see about that, you think.
Namjoon slips his hands into his pockets and leans back against the wall. "Any plans for today?"
His brother shakes his head as he continues to dote on you. "Just staying in with Y/N. I want her to be at her best again before I take her out anywhere."
"Understandable." Namjoon directs his attention towards you. "I should leave you alone then. Take care, yeah?"
You don't want him to leave but you know you have to so you nod.
"See you," you rasp out.
Namjoon waves before stepping out. The door shuts behind him hiding him away from you leaving you alone, once again, with Hoseok. The sound of the TV fills the air but your captor doesn't remain silent for long.
"How's the tea? Is it too bitter? I didn't want to put too much sugar for you."
The tea tasted fine. You take another sip before answering him.
"It's fine." A short answer.
He hums. "Don't forget your snacks." His hands clasp together as he stretches his arms out in front of him. "I wanted to bring you something to munch on. Something to hold you down until it's time to eat."
You place the tea down and look at the three small cakes that come in a wrapper. They're birthday cake flavored and he's right - you do like them. You open up one of them and begin to take little bites from it so you can savor it. You're enjoying it despite the fact that Hoseok has been staring at you non-stop.
Your eyes shift over to see him smiling at you and it's a little unnerving.
"What," you ask.
His brows perk up at the attention you give him. "Nothing."
You send a knowing look his way. "You have something to say. So what is it?"
For once he looks a little shy as he bites his bottom lip and fiddles with his thumbs. It's uncharacteristic of him and you don't know what to do with that information.
"Hoseok."
He releases his lip to smile at you. "Nothing it's just... I feel bad that you're sick but I've been enjoying taking care of you. You don't fight me as much."
Your brows furrow as you think on it.
You guess he's right. You've just been wanting to rest, get your high and go back to resting. He's been taking good care of you and you've been letting him. You did promise you would tone it down with the aggression but with you being sick you've really calmed down. The thought of that makes you purse your lips before taking another bite of your cake.
Hoseok picks a piece of cracker and cheese for himself but you don't react to it. He seems to smile around the food in his mouth and you don't know what to make of it.
Things feel a little domestic between you two. Something you hate but you're too sick to care. Let it be, you think. You'll just let it be.
You pick up your cup and sip some more tea that just hits the spot. It makes a warm trail down your throat and into your stomach. With the cake it tastes all the more sweeter.
Hoseok takes another piece of cheese with a cracker for himself before he brings his thumb up to wipe the corner of your mouth. You look at him to see he was getting to a piece of cake that sat on the edge of your lips and instead of brushing his hands of it he brings it to his mouth to lick off. The sight of him doing that makes you feel a little off but you try to not acknowledge him. Especially when he looks at you with heady eyes.
You clear your throat before swallowing more of the tea down.
"Easy there," he says. "I don't want you burning yourself."
You just grunt in response.
You can see from the corner of your eye how he keeps staring at you. It's unnerving and you make the mistake of locking eyes with him when you shift your sights.
His eyes are half-lidded and his smile is soft. He looks absolutely in love with you and it makes your stomach turn. You take a bite out of your cake and it just makes his smile grow wider.
"Hoseok," you say around a mouthful before swallowing. "You keep staring at me like that."
"Like what," he asks but you have a feeling he knows what you're talking about. He's just playing around. "Like what," he asks again.
You sigh before looking at the TV. It's some trash reality show that's on but it's had your attention before now. You try to ignore Hoseok as you watch the people interact but he laughs a little before leaning into your space and kissing your cheek softly. You catch him from the corner of your eye and see how he stares at you before giving you another kiss.
"You're too cute, Y/N."
Without a response you drink down more of your tea until there's nothing left.
"How's your throat, by the way?"
You place the cup onto the tray and shrug. "It doesn't hurt but you can already tell something's up with the way I sound." And you're right because it's still raspy.
Hoseok hums. "The tea should help with that." He taps the plate with the crackers and cheese. "Eat."
Before finishing off the cake you do as he says and eat the other snack he's brought. He takes another piece for himself but you don't complain. When you're done he takes the tray and places it outside his door like he's been doing as of late.
He closes the door behind him before walking up to you and smiling.
"Let's get you tucked in, yeah?"
Without much fight you let him baby you. You don't have it in you to go against him so you let him do as he pleases. Much to his content.
He goes to bring the covers over your arms but you lift them up to keep them on top. He barely raises a brow over it but he doesn't make a fuss. Instead he kisses your forehead, the tip of your nose then your lips. Focusing on your lips he kisses them a few times more before pulling back. It actually makes you wonder about something.
"Hoseok," you say.
He hums questioningly.
"Aren't you worried I might get you sick?"
His head tilts a little as he pouts. "Why would I get sick?"
"Because you keep kissing me and I'm sick."
Hoseok smiles before perching himself on top of the bed so he can straddle you. He pushes the strands of hair that slipped from the braid he did for you out of your face.
"I don't get sick easily."
"Oh." Is all you can muster.
It's a reasonable thought you had but he isn't the least bit concerned.
"I'm not one to get sick so easily. Not like Seokjin or Jungkook. I've always been like that since I was a kid. If I do get sick it's a pretty big deal but for the most part I'm fine."
You swallow and feel the way your throat aches. "Don't you think you're risking it though?"
The edges of his lips curl into a smile. "If I don't kiss you then who will?" He's trying to be cute.
His words make you think about Namjoon but you're quick to clear those thoughts lest he find a way to read your mind. That's something you're glad he can't do.
His hand comes up to cup your face where his thumb swipes over your cheek. He seems to grow serious and the look he sends your way sends a wave of discomfort over you. He looks concerned. Like a negative thought has struck him but he's trying his best to not let it show. You would ask him what's wrong but do you really want to know?
Hoseok licks his lips and gives you a small smile that barely reaches his eyes. "I love you, Y/N. I know I say that a lot but I really, truly love you. I don't know what I would do without you."
His eyes seems to grow teary and the idea of a crying Hoseok hits you and hits you in all the wrong places. If you thought you felt uncomfortable before then you feel so ten times more now.
Your hand reaches up for his to pull it off your face but he just laces your fingers together.
"Tell me you love me."
Your head jerks the slightest bit at his command.
He wants you to tell him you love him? Over your dead body, but instead of feeling entirely mad you actually feel concerned. How can you express the words he seeks when you don't in fact love him? Your heart's rhythm grows quick and heavy with the fact that you can't give him what he wants. And he seems to notice that because his eyes grow even more watery.
What was with him? What can you do to get him to stop? What can you do to appease him for the time being? The only words you can think of to say stand firm on the tip of your tongue. You think maybe you should stay quiet but they slip between your lips anyway.
"Kiss me."
His brows draw upwards for a moment before he gives you a teary smile and leans down to do just that. Kiss you.
Your lips meet and you swear you can feel every ounce of emotion he's bleeding in to you. His hand that's wound with yours squeezes you tightly to the point it has you gasping in pain. He pauses as your lips part and for a short second he does nothing but keep you close. Until you moan in pain his name where he then releases you so he can cup your face with both his hands.
"I love you," he whispers. "I love you. I Iove you."
He meets your lips again with his own and kisses you deeply.
You don't know what's come over him. This isn't the Hoseok you're used to. The Hoseok who always seemed so sure of himself. It's giving you whiplash and you have to admit that you're worried.
What happened to make him this way? Did you say or do something? Does he... does he know about you and Namjoon? No, he wouldn't act like this because of that right? You had to have said something to make him act like you're about to slip between his fingers. You just have zero recollection of what it could have been.
You pull back to breathe and place a hand against his chest. When he tries to kiss you again you keep your hand firm against him.
"Hoseok wait."
He pulls back to stare at you and for the moment that he looks you deep in your eyes something switches within him. He just smiles like nothing is wrong with him. Like he didn't just try drowning you in his love. He smiles and smiles and the sheen over his eyes seems to lessen.
"I know," he says. "I know it's going to take some time but I know deep down, you love me. It's just going to take some time."
He seems to have convinced himself this because he sits up a little so that he's somewhat hovering over you with a content look. You're shaken up though. The event makes you swallow deeply in concern.
Should you ask him what that was about? You want to but you're also nervous. There's no way he knows about you and Namjoon. If he did he wouldn't have let his brother leave so easily like he did earlier and you doubt he'd be so calm save for that little episode he had just now.
You lick your lips while your hand rests still against his chest. "Hoseok," you say. "What - what's wrong?"
The smile leaves his lips and he's just left staring at you with an unreadable expression. There he goes again. Hiding himself from you. It's hard to get a read on him when he's like this. It's one of your least favorite things about him. You know besides the obsession and possessiveness. It makes the hand on his chest twitch a little. It makes you wriggle a little beneath him in discomfort.
"Y/N," he says.
He garners your attention with his sudden silence and you wait until he speaks again so he can lower you from the suspension he holds you up on.
"Do you want me? Want what I can give you?"
Your head tilts a little in question.
Where was he going with this? Hoseok never does something without a plan. Was the teary eyes just merely a ruse? A ruse to get you where he wants you?
He's waiting for an answer and you contemplate on the answer.
You do want what he can give you, but it's not in the way he thinks. You want his saliva. You want it so bad and the ugly addiction that eats you up from the inside out makes your lips tremble with an answer.
He doesn't even have to ask you again. You don't think he was planning to anyway but you're quick to answer him with a small whisper. A "Yes."
His lips curl into a smile that feels so devious despite not looking the part, but he has his answer and he delivers his own with a kiss to your lips. A kiss where he slips the tip of his tongue out to run across the seam of your lips and you open up to let him inside.
Your eyes are shut but you feel something wet land on your cheek. You don't know what it is but you vaguely wonder if it's the tears he's been meaning to shed but you're too lost when your tongues meet. Too lost to care about anything else that isn't his toxic kiss.
The high lifts you up and over the moon that shines through the curtains. It's like you're in heaven though the reality is that you're in hell. For a brief moment you think you can live like this but you know this feeling doesn't last forever because what you have shouldn't last for so long. For the time being though you relish in the feeling he gives you. Relish in the way he brings you to the top before the inevitable drop back down to the ground.
Your hand on his chest goes to fist his shirt. You keep him close this way and open your mouth even wider so you can drown in his kiss. He's giving himself up willingly to you like this. He's always willing to give you all of him.
When you part to breathe your eyes open and you see that he did cry. That what you felt was a tear of his. You're too high to ask him why he cried but you don't know if you really want to know.
Hoseok takes the moment to breathe before leaning over to kiss your neck. His hands move to hold your breasts as he nips at your skin leaving you covered in his marks. Just as he likes it.
You moan at the feel of his teeth and gasp at a particularly harsh nip. You know you'll be left with bruises he won't allow you to cover but it's the least of your problems right now.
He sits up with a sigh and bends his arm so he can rest an elbow on your pillow and perch the side of his face against his fist. He just watches you now. Watches the way your eyes glaze over. Watches the way your lips part in pure relaxation. Lifting his other hand he goes to wipe away the tear that landed on your cheek and smiles.
"I love you, Y/N."
A small whine escapes you as your hand that was gripping his shirt begins to grow lax.
Licking his lips Hoseok caresses your cheek. Running his fingers over your face and down to your neck where he traces the marks he left behind.
"You probably," he stops. "You probably don't know what's going on right now but you don't have to worry. I'll love you for the both of us. Love us for the both of us. Until you can love me back. Just whatever you do. Don't leave me. No matter what. Okay?"
You whine again and nod your head. You don't even think you know what you're even agreeing to. You just know that you want what Hoseok has to offer right now. More of what he's given you.
"Kiss me," you say. "Please."
Hoseok's smile grows wider. "Whatever you want, my love."
The two of you kiss again but it's soft and languid. Neither of you are in a rush and you give and he takes and you take and he gives. The feeling coursing through you is outstanding and you know you can never have enough of it. Too bad you won't have it forever but for now you'll take what you can get.
Your tongues mingle and dance with one another. Massaging each other until you're moaning into his mouth. He moans back and by now he'd have his hand between your legs but he refrains from doing that. Instead he just kisses you and kisses you until you can't breathe again. When he pulls back he leans in to kiss your cheek then sits up to give you some space.
You're far beyond out of it and he lets you be as you are. At some point he stands up and goes off to use the bathroom while you're flying high. You can't stand looking without seeing up at the ceiling so you just close your eyes. You think you hear the people on the TV arguing but who cares? They're not where you are right now. Maybe that's why they're so angry. They just need to get high. Who knows?
When Hoseok comes back he slips beneath the covers to join you and holds you close. You can sense his eyes on you but you have nothing to say about it. Let him stare, you think. He's the least of your worries right now.
You're on a time limit now. Soon you'll come down but for now you're good. Hoseok has given you enough to hold you over for the time being.
When you slowly blink your eyes open it's like the high is reminding you that you're still up there with the world seeming to spin around you so you close them again. You're better off with your eyes closed.
Hoseok's hand that rests on your stomach comes up to push your strands of hair behind your ear. You think you hear him lick his lips before he parts them to speak.
"Let me know when you've come down."
You hum in response because it's all you can do right now.
More minutes pass by until you start to feel it. You're coming down from the high and all you're left with is nothing. You feel empty without it but there's nothing you can do other than to accept it. It's boring like this even a little dreadful but it is what it is.
You sigh deeply and mumble an "Okay" to Hoseok. He takes that chance to sit up on his arm to look over you and caress your face with the back of his hand with the other.
"Look at me," he says.
And you do. Your eyes flutter open and you're seeing him. The way his smile seems to grow the longer he stares at you.
"Hi."
You lick your lips. "Hi."
"How are you feeling now?"
"Okay I guess." You shrug your shoulders.
He stops caressing you so he can place his hand over your chest. Over your heart where he can feel it pound if he presses hard enough.
"Sorry about that."
Your brows furrow in confusion. "About what?"
His smile simmers down into a soft one that barely reaches his eyes.
"For getting emotional. I know there's nothing wrong with being emotional but I'm usually much more tamed."
Tamed? The word makes you huff a laugh but if he knows it's at his expense he doesn't show it. You doubt he knows that's why you laughed.
To avoid problems you just shrug your shoulders again. "People get emotional. It's life."
Your words seem to alight something within him because the edge of his lips tilts upwards into a crooked smile.
"Yeah it is life."
He looks around the room for a moment as if he's looking for something else to say. You take that chance to look off towards the side and you note the world isn't spinning like before. What you are hit with is the sudden urge to pee so you grab his hand and push it off to sit up.
"You okay?"
You nod your head. "I have to use the bathroom."
He pushes away from you to allow you some space as you stand up to head off.
While you're using the toilet you take the chance to rub your face with a sigh.
Hoseok inadvertently admitted that something was wrong. You don't know what made him act the way he acted and you have half a mind to ask him but you're stuck between wanting to know and not wanting to know. You could care less but if this will somehow affect your chances of escaping down the line or your time with Namjoon you think you should know what's up. Yeah. You'll ask him what's wrong. You just have to know.
You finish up in the bathroom and wash your hands. When you come back to the bedroom you see that he's staring at the TV. You stand by the doorway and begin to worry your hands between each other. When he realizes what you're doing his eyes snap to you and he frowns.
"You okay, baby?"
You purse your lips as you make your way over to the bed.
"Hoseok," you say as you sit down before him. "Why did you get emotional earlier?"
His brows raise the slightest bit at your question.
He looks like he's pondering on whether or not he should tell you. With the way his eyes shift left to right then back onto you.
"I figured you wouldn't remember."
You frown. What did he mean by that?
"I'm sorry," you ask in confusion.
Hoseok sighs but he pats your spot on the bed beckoning you to lie down. You do so hesitantly until you're perched on your arm like him staring face to face.
He grabs the covers and places them over you and tucks them around your waist. He's stalling. That you know for sure.
Breathing deeply he looks at you and gives you a smile that doesn't last long. You're about to say his name again but he speaks before you can.
"A few days ago. When you first got sick. You asked me something."
"What did I ask?"
He licks his lips. "What happens if I break your heart?"
The look of confusion on your face says it all for him.
You shake your head. "I don't remember asking that."
"I figured you wouldn't. You seemed really out of it." He brings a hand up to brush his fingers over your cheekbone. "I was going to let it slide but you were very adamant in wanting to know what would happen if you did that. I told you I know you wouldn't do that but it just had me thinking. Left me feeling concerned," he pauses. "You wouldn't do that, right?"
He's giving you that look. The one that seeks reassurance. It's a little overwhelming for you to see but what else can you do other than to tell him things were going to be okay?
You have no idea why you were both brave and stupid enough to ask that question. Like he said, you were out of it. That's the only explanation why. Now though you're left with someone who looks the slightest bit insecure. It's a first for you and it leaves you feeling unnerved yet powerful. Here you are holding Hoseok's heart in your hand. You could crush it. You doubt he'd let you go so easily but you could potentially break his heart here and now. If you know what's good for you you wouldn't dare. Otherwise his defenses will come up and you'll never see the light of day again. It's still tempting to do. You want to see him crushed but you won't do it. Can't do it. Not only because you have to play the part but you also realize you don't have a cruel bone in your body. You're not made to be cruel. You're just not.
"I can't," you start to say. How should you word this? "I can't do that. I don't see myself doing that."
There's a glossy sheen that takes over his eyes before he brings an arm around you to hold you close. He inhales your scent with a sniffle and you think he just might be crying.
"I'll trust you," he says. "Even if you don't mean that. I trust you know what's best."
What's best for you. For him. You feel so stuck in the middle. Like a fly caught in a spider's web. No matter how much you wiggle you just can't find a way out. Is it your fault that you're this stuck? Yes and no. It's a tricky question. Everything about this is tricky.
When he pulls back he goes to wipe his eyes before smiling at you. He doesn't look as worked up anymore and it brings you a small sense of peace.
You're used to the confident Hoseok and not that his sensitive side makes him weak but you're not used to it. All it does is make you worry.
The two of you go back to watching TV and wait until it's time to eat. It's not that long of a wait and most of the time is spent with both you and Hoseok making out. You're surprised he's so willing to give you the high more than once and you suspect it's all due to the recent conversation you had. He's feeling clingy and wants more of you. All of you really.
Your leg is hiked over his hip with him lying partially on top of you. His cool hand is slipped under your shirt palming at your breast - hardening your nipple to a peak. The occasional moan slips out of you with one of your hands in his hair and the other gripping the front of his shirt tightly. He's not far behind with the noises he makes. Absolutely salacious.
He pulls back a little so he can bite your bottom lip. He does it hard enough to make you gasp but he soothes the ache with his tongue. A silent apology.
The hand gripping his shirt loosens and slips between you so you can palm him over his pajamas. He's semi-hard and it twitches at the feel of your touch.
He takes in a quick short breath before resting his forehead onto your collarbone.
"Wait," he says but you're still touching him.
He has to grit his teeth before forcing you to stop with the hand he pulls out from under your shirt.
"Y/N wait."
In your high state of mind you make a questioning sound. "What," you slur.
"I don't want to go too far. You should be resting."
Your brows furrow as your eyes close. He's right but you're not in the right state of mind. All you know is that you want more and he's a somewhat willing participant.
"I'm fine Hoseok. Just give me more. Please." You release his clothed cock so you can wrap your other leg around him and pull him flushed against you.
"But you're sick, Y/N."
You arch your back as if you were in pain. "I don't care, Hoseok. I don't care."
With the hand in his hair you pull him up to which he hisses but it's over quickly when your lips meet again.
Hoseok groans into your mouth and as if your words were all he needed to hear he slips his hand between you two and into your shorts where he palms your sex.
"You really want it," he questions between kiss.
You can only nod your head before slipping your tongue into his mouth.
Hoseok grabs the side of your head to keep your lips close as he maneuvers himself so that he's kneeling between your legs. Your head can barely comprehend what's happening right now but you know it's what your high state of mind wanted.
He's quick to raise your shirt above your breasts and they peak from the cool air. The next to go are your shorts and underwear leaving your bottom half completely exposed to him. He takes the chance then to remove his clothes entirely before palming his weeping cock that stands at full attention now.
With your distracted mind you jump when you feel his fingers touch your core. He slips his fingers over your entrance to spread your slick everywhere and makes it easier for him to slip into you easily. You sigh at the feeling as he begins to stretch you out. He spreads his fingers apart with every pump until your walls begin to relax around him. When that happens he slips a third finger inside and repeats the process. He's not here to go faster than the pace he's already going. He's just concentrating on relaxing you for him.
As soon as you're ready he pulls himself out and aligns his cock with your hole that leaks more of your arousal. Your high state amps up the pleasure that you're feeling and so when he begins to slip inside your back arches. Even with the foreplay he's still a tight fit but at least it doesn't hurt.
Your toes curl as he slips more and more of himself in until he reaches the hilt. He presses his hips into you and leans over to grab your hands. His fingers lace with your own and he brings them up above your head to rest. With a slow and steady pace he begins to move leaving you to feel ultimate pleasure.
He's in no rush. He's just taking the time to feel you just as you feel him. This type of sex is new to you. You're used to the fast and hard feeling. Now he snaps his hips into you at a languid place but the pleasure is steadily building up.
There's something so sweet about this. You're not ready to acknowledge all of that but for now you'll let things be as is. This slow and gentle sex that has you pulsating around him makes him openly moan. Your lips part to let out a moan yourself. Your breaths intermingle with every pump of his hips. One after another. One after another...
There's a particularly harsh thrust he makes that makes you gasp but he doesn't go any harder than that.
"Y/N. Look at me," he commands.
And you do. Your eyes are open and take him in. You see the way his eyes have turned blue and you know he's feeling it. His scleras grow red with unshed blood but they glisten like he has to cry again.
"I love you, Y/N." He begins to pant. "I love you so much."
You whine at his words and in a delirious state you reciprocate his feelings. "I love you too."
That seems to do it for him because he closes his eyes in pure bliss.
You ride each other out - slowly but surely nearing the end. His hands squeeze yours but not enough to make it hurt. Only enough to keep him grounded as he pushes in then out. Despite it being new to you you find that you enjoy this type of sex. You just need a little bit more.
His pace picks up a bit with a shaky breath. "Are you close?"
You whine. "Yeah."
He releases one of your hands so that he can play with your clit. A substantial amount of pressure that he rolls in circles with his thumb. You're entirely slick down there and it makes the turns his digit makes smooth. You gasp out loud to the feeling he sends throughout your body. You're definitely close and he can tell with the way your walls flutter around him.
"Come on, baby," he says. "Give it to me."
You moan out loud as you hold his hand tighter.
"Ah Hoseok I'm so close!"
"I know, beautiful." He picks up the pace a little. Both his hips and his thumb. "Come for me."
You gasp over and over again - your body trembling beneath him. Your legs wrap tighter around him limiting his space of movement but it doesn't slow him down.
You're so close and he realizes you're about to come when your walls clamp down on him. So tight that he hisses in pleasure before he comes tumbling down right after you.
His hips jerk over and over with each powerful burst of cum that spills from him. Your walls massage his length and pulls from him everything he's got. The sight of you two is pure eroticism as you come together. Until there's nothing left but weary bones. It doesn't stop him from biting you though and taking your blood deep inside him. He rolls his hips as he drinks from your neck leaving you feeling just the slightest bit light-headed.
When he comes to a still inside of you he retracts his mouth to lick your wound and just lets you keep him warm. It's wet and messy down there but he wouldn't have it any other way. And apparently neither would you when you're this high.
Hoseok sighs before pulling out a move that makes the two of you hiss. He sits up and pulls your legs apart so he can admire your sex.
"Push," he says and you know what he means.
You push down a little until you feel his cum slowly slip out of you. He brings his thumb over to smear his essence and brings it up to his lips to taste. He takes it all in before leaning over and kissing you so you can taste him just as well. You're not a fan of the taste but you take what he can give and if whatever he gives comes with the high then you'll have it.
You kiss slow and long until you both have to come up for air. Your body feels heavy after cumming and because of the state of mind you're in. You can feel the way Hoseok kisses your forehead before removing your shirt off of you.
You know what comes next. He expects for the two of you to shower, but not right now. Right now you just need to relax. At least until the high leaves you. It stays for a while and you enjoy every bit of it. It's when you start to come down do you realize what your actions lead you up to and you're left feeling shameful.
You shouldn't feel shameful you think. It's not the first and will possibly not be the last that you do this. You scratch his back and he scratches yours. You want the high and so you give him your body and your nonexistent love. It's the high that possesses you to say and do wild things. You'll deal with these things another time. For now it is what it is.
You'll let him take care of you however he sees fit and you'll lose yourself in him. It's just how things are. You'll take it. Even if it makes him fall more in love with you every time you do it.

Morro's Redemption
Morro deserved a redemption so now I'm giving him one. I love playing with morro redemption stories and this is how they generally go though the circumstances differ (I have so many aus help me). I'm calling this my Morro redemption au but note that it's not one consistent story and there will be plot holes and contradictions when I eventually decide to make more. Bonus this is the au where all my headcannons come from/can go
Requested by @dontlookforme00
It starts when he's possessing Lloyd. Being in his head, Morro has a chance to see some of Lloyd's memories and thoughts, and he starts to understand. Lloyd is just a kid. Lloyd never wanted to be the green ninja, nor did he do any work to get that title. He was forced into this role and has been hurt because of it when he never deserved any of this. It's not his fault, and Morro's anger towards him fades.
Just as Morro can see some of what's going on in Lloyd's head, Lloyd gets a peak at Morro's brain too, and he starts to understand. Morro was a kid, alone and scared and unloved. He was desperate to be a good student, to somehow repay the man who showed him kindness. When he was told he could be the green ninja he was filled with hopes and dreams and for the first time someone thought of him as something more than a street rat. He would be the best green ninja possible and make Wu so proud! He would be a great hero and make people safe and happy! When the day came and the weapons didn't react he was crushed. He thought he had done something wrong, that he had failed his dad master, that he really was just a worthless street rat. He had to prove destiny wrong, he just had to. He would do anything to prove that he was the green ninja, that he was a good student and not a waste of Wu's time. He got himself killed like that, desperate to prove himself to the person who loved him most.
*vague plot timeskip* this isn't actually one solid au so basically anything can happen here, heck even day of the departed can still happen. All that matters is for whatever reason he's stuck with the ninja/wu in the monastery.
Morro regrets what he's done and he hates himself for it. He wanted to be a hero, to help people and protect ninjago, how the hell did he end up like this? He still carries the aggression learned in the cursed realm, and tends to hide in his room, avoiding Wu most of all. It takes time but eventually him and Lloyd get to talking (replace with Cole for a slightly different situation). Morro apologizes, and they talk about the green ninja prophecy and how it affected them (see above, trauma bonding woo). There are tears and elemental powers but they end the situation doing a little better.
The other ninja are... wary of Morro. They understand that he's good (ish) now or else he wouldn't be living with them, but with how aggressive and closed off he is they haven't really talked to him or tried to understand him, and Lloyd can only share so much. While most of them are at least tolerant of Morro, Kai fucking hates him. He is pissed that he hurt his baby brother and he won't just ignore his attempt to destroy the world. Kai confronts him and it goes... questionable and definitely not mentally healthy. Essentially Kai is giving Morro shit about it when Morro interest him with a "I know and I hate myself for it" type thing (tempted to actually write this) and there's a whole lot of screaming and crying. They are by no means on good terms but Kai chills out after that (the other ninja either overhear or are told about this later) and from there they can at least start building relationships.
After this point my solid thoughts start to break down and there aren't any more major events but the general idea is Morro slowly getting more comfortable and building relationships with the ninja (and Wu but way slower). I plan another post about just those relationships but at this point his redemption is pretty much complete and my aus start to go different directions.
Morro is avoiding Wu like the plague. He still hates him and is extremely angry but he wants to be good now so he can't just kill him and he dosent know what to do so he just hides from his problems. After quite some time and definitely after the Morro Kai thing Wu confronts him and it goes absolutely horribly. (I've played out this scene in my head a dozen times a dozen different ways but there is a general idea). Morro is so so hurt and practically screams his throat raw yelling at Wu, full on mental breakdown ugly crying. When Morro is done Wu hugs him, and he lets it last for just a moment before punching him and breaking his nose. After this Morro goes back to avoiding Wu but things start to get a little better. Wu is trying to make things better and help Morro heal but it is going very slowly.

I got an ask with comments about a post where the OP kinda defended the situation with Lies We Sing to the Sea. I will not post the part of the ask with the link because I want to give zero attention to that post. But here is the commentary
Tumblr media
The post in question has 1 note so please ignore it and let it remain hidden forever. But I'll comment because I love "taking the piss" as a Brit would say.
i don't trust this scorn [toward the author] to be warranted anymore. from white Greek people especially.
So.... OP excludes 99.5% of all Greeks on the planet (based on what Greeks consider a White person) from commenting on a cultural issue, where appearance plays no role... Ahaaam... Also, half the Middle Easterners and N. Africans can pass as White Greeks so... what does this gal call White and non-White exactly? Well, you know what, let's not indulge her here.
Perhaps I'll send my family over to her house and whomever she deems "ethnic"/"brown" enough, I'll instruct them to tell her her opinion is shit, so we have chances of being heard. I don't agree with bashing Brits just because they're Brits but OP reaaaally sounded like an old white posh Brit here. But even her posh dead fellow countrymen didn't check how light our ancestors were when fighting them to steal their antiquities and land, just sayin
it's not her fault she got a publishing deal and you didn't. be honest for a second, that is what you're mad about, isn't it? that she has a bigger megaphone than you right now.
Wow.. that's an assumption. Since the news broke out first in the publishing world, it's normal for some of the Greeks who called Underwood out to be writers themselves. But no Greek, including Greek writers, called her out because of jealousy. They did it because they were horrified by how little the prominently Anglophone western industry continues to care about actual Greek culture and people while profiting from it in the most inaccurate and dismissive way. Why do you think the drama blew out? Because it's not just a book, it's a treatment of Greece and Greece that's happening for damn centuries!
you lot make fun of poor brits way more than the people in power. funny British accents? working class accents. gross British food? poverty meals. it's punching down. admittedly, i have no clue what Sarah Underwood's finances were or are like, before or after she sold her book.
Her finances were good enough for her to get her hands on the Odyssey and call it things you just Don't call a foreign National Epic. Her financial situation is improved now, and I don't see her getting more culturally respectful or apologizing. And in 2023, the Odyssey with explanation and commentary is accessible to everyone. Even kids books and cartoons on national TV with simple language will give you a better understanding of the work, compared to what Underwood has.
And, how insidious of OP to use poor Brits (as she used non-White Greeks earlier) to prove a point, while in actuality she's shitting on them too! Does she really think poor Brits don't have the capacity to appreciate an Epic?? That cultural disrespect is a characteristic of poor people...??
Based on what I know about the mentality of people in the UK, if Brits with little education make these comments, they will be much more appreciative than Sarah Underwood, and they are more likely to also add "eh my education wasn't the best. I am sure it's a very important piece for the Greeks and for the whole world, since it's so ancient". The average low-income person seems to me much more grounded, and much less audacious when publicly saying negative stuff about our Epics. I think most people wouldn't even dare speak how Underwood spoke if they were aware - as they often are - their education was lacking.
You can usually tell when comments about the Greek Epics are made by people who didn't have privileges, compared to when they're made by people who had ample access to them and they just chose to be dicks. I'll take negative opinions from poor Brits on the street any time over Classics Student Pretentious Talk

How do you think chapter 109 will play out? Will we see a little of the history of the Yugi brothers? Well one thing I'm sure of is Teru will kill Aoi after this 😂
Ahaha... well, I do have some thoughts.... I kinda try to have more overarching or general theme 'theories' or perhaps you could say 'beliefs' of 'directions', it can be more embarrassing to have very short-term going-to-be-dispelled-in-a-month musings ... BUT ... well haha I can't control my BRAIN...
I've been thinking that... I'm not sure Tsukasa is really 'a person' in this situation, at least not to Kako or the Clockeepers in general. If I think about a court trial, responsibility, blame, I would think that NUMBER 7 is responsible for those he has DOMINION AND CONTROL OVER, his YORISHIRO, and his KANNAGI. If HIS properties, his SACRED OBJECT, and his SERVANT, are acting up under HIS stewardship, then it is ultimately his fault... not theirs. Right? That is how I'm thinking...Nene-chan can only know what Hanako tells her, and she can only move about with significant kaii help. Tsukasa isn't meant to do anything at all, on his own! He's just a battery powering Amane!
I would reaaally love Tsukasa dehumanized. I would not imagine the kaii longterm governing the mysteries would really be able to see yorishiro as 'people' so much as 'things' (there is also almost no way Akane would see Tsukasa as a 'person'!), and regardless of if yours is a pair of scissors or a body, it all serves the same purpose (to keep you in line). The destruction of yorishiro is something this system allows for -- which Hanako is typically in charge of-- it is not something considered murder, or whatever, of course. Mysteries do not get to consent over being peeled if the leader decides it is necessary, but more important to me right now, is that yorishiro themselves get the least amount of control. Tsukasa was seemingly trapped in Hanako's boundary and needed assistance to get out ... Sumire sure couldn't do anything even given a hundred years. Sumire being destroyed by Hakubo is not a criminal investigation in and of itself; she belonged to Hakubo after all, a mystery has the power to destroy their own yorishiro. In my mind.. yorishiro are the ultimate underdogs of this system. They are made, and discarded, for the purpose of being someone else's power. For a boy who once killed himself to save his brother, it's a perfect role for Tsukasa .... something that only exists for Amane.
I guess though, overall I do think Amane has been, this whole time, letting Tsukasa do as he pleases, because he is curious about what Tsukasa wants to do. Once he figures out Tsukasa is responsible for the chaos, he no longer makes any effort to catch/stop him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^ This Amane to me, is a reveal that he is warmly, affectionately watching Tsukasa, in mirror to how Tsukasa likes to watch Amane. I am not sure Tsukasa, when alive, really did things for himself often? Did Tsukasa have big wishes, dreams, ambitions? Maybe yorishiro Tsukasa is the most self-possessed and disruptive he has been...? He was always asking Amane if he liked or wanted something.... but now, he's disobeying him of his own accord. I wonder if Amane likes that...
*kaff* but well, how does that matter to the trial... I guess it could mean anything. Maybe Amane could just throw his hands up, maybe he could just finally put Tsukasa back in his boundary. Maybe he could lie and say he was only here to do just that, not to help them...but to subdue them. I wonder! Listen judge I'm not involved.... (weirdly, Akane and Teru could confirm that...? They found him helpless and stuck... crying... )
I had a fun fantasy of Tsukasa being forced back into Amane's boundary, but at the last second grabbing Nene-chan and sending her there with him... that would be so fun (: that's fanfiction at that point though haha.. I'm just desperate to see that boundary, and I'd love for Nene-chan to see Tsukasa incapacitated in his coffin... ♥ she just got to know him... it would be nice if she could see him 'dead'. It would be nice if 'finally stopping Tsukasa' didn't come with a sense of victory. Seeing the typically vivacious little boy, who just sang by her side, as a corpse, would be harrowing.
I would be interested in Amane and Teru teaming up against the Clockkeepers lol... in this situation, I think their goals align .... ? why not ... if they both want their power revoked... Teru doesn't like the mysteries existing at all! Neither does Kunishige....
not really impossible to me that they would unite, they uhh, they ? ? they are coworkers in the . hot guy juice stand
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you're in my twisted post of fantasy so, well. For fun. For fun! let's imagine Tsukasa is locked back in Amane's boundary, helpless. And then, let's assume there is no choice but to peel the clockkeeper yorishiro in order to right the school's time, and Amane nudges Nene-chan to do it (what a sensation! how haunting! who is the 'bad guy'?)... let's say after that, Natsuhiko and Sakura don't actually have a reason to free Tsukasa-- I mean-- Mitsuba is in their pocket, and No. 7 allegedly already agreed to peeling Tsukasa ... so past a certain point, do they need him anymore? Haven't they accomplished enough? I'm not sure either of them really and truly ally with Tsutsu... and he's already willfully suicidal on his own. They know he wants to be destroyed. There is no reason to 'save' him, he isn't asking to be saved at all; not the plan and they know it. If he's in Amane's clutches, that's convenient in a way.
If only Nene-chan could free Tsukasa, and become his assistant for real...
Oh yeah... I also have the thought that ah, I would love it if the Clockkeeper's losing power meant Akane lost his kaii-related memories? That would mean losing his memories of confessions with Ao-chan, and the ability to help heal her hand, or even understand it is hurt, perhaps... it would place a lot of power into Teru's favor, as he and Aoi could then exclusively share the kaii-world-knowledge, and only he could heal her, or protect her from supernatural harm. I like the thought of Akane and Aoi having to 'start over' in a way, and Aoi having to lead this time... I like Teru's manipulative underhandedness, with Aoi, how he blackmails her, pressures her, etc... Akane being made the least relevant and capable would be very captivating. It could force Aoi to protect him doggedly. Which I think would suit the manga's ever-reversing dynamics (: HOWEVER! Akane losing his memories of kaii would ALSO isolate Teru, as Akane is the only person who knew his real self. A lonely Teru is fun and funny!
I guess I also wonder if Kunishige-san and Tiara are actually beating ass out there in the school, if Kunishige has a tool for ... any of this.. on his person... to not be effected ... or something.. idfk. I don't actually care about them but I am trying to bare them in mind lol....
that was a lot of nonsense, wasn't it ....
the events are really making my head spin haha. SO MUCH COULD HAPPEN... ! And... I bet everything else will haha.
I'm sure we'll learn something about Amane and Tsukasa. If nothing else, 12 year old Tsu is awaiting for Nene-chan once time resumes in the school....

I really think a lot of you guys don't see the larger systems at play behind events. On here its always "this thing is going to ruin everything, we have to get up and fight right now to stop this specific thing or it's all going to fall apart." Every new issue is the worst thing that has ever happened and not the result of complicated political forces that have been going on for a long time and will continue long after this specific issue stops being newsworthy. Systems thinking is often relegated to saying it's capitalism's or billionaire's fault and leaving it at that, which at this point feels like blaming the Darkness in Men's Souls, especially in coming up with effective solutions. If you kill an oil executive, there's a line of succession which places someone else in that oil executive's role of promoting climate change. And that person is probably going to be more paranoid and less willing to give up their sources of wealth and power.
However, I do think this is because a lot of you actually don't have the context for our current political systems (a lot of you are literally teenagers), so this is going to be a post where I offer suggestions rather than just bitch.
All of these books are one's that I've read and personally recommend. None of them are a complete picture but combined I think they make a good baseline for thinking about our current (usamerican) situation:
A People's History of the United States
Tumblr media
An oldie but a goodie. Please don't go around being knowingly ignorant about history. If you think/know your usamerican history from school is lacking/biased, fix it. Please don't really on tumblr to fill in those gaps.
An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States
Tumblr media
Along with that, there's no usamerican history without indigenous history. The process of colonization is not what it appears to be and learning about it gives us a better idea of what's standing in the way of decolonization.
The System
Tumblr media
The Color of Law
Tumblr media
A very legal book, but not bad. He really goes into almost every aspect of 20th century u.s. that had a hand in creating/maintaining segregation (and a handful of people who resisted it).
White Trash
Tumblr media
A lot of you see poor white men as enemies and it shows and your leftism is worse for it. You really need some class solidarity if we're going to actually solve anything, and part of that is understanding that poor white usamericans are tired of the government intervening in their lives
Doughnut Economics
Tumblr media
I just finished this and it's now one of my favorite books (that happens a lot). It's just a really good re-framing of economics into something that's a tool to help meet societal goals, and not just a way to make the most money.
Please add more, this certainly isn't any kind of comprehensive list, just books that I know helped me put things in perspective

“188男团 novels.” | Angie reviews novels that she read in Spanish because she was too lazy to translate her reactions to English, pt. 1.
Tumblr media
🫧 —Alpha Predator. | 5/5 ☆.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No carrd, unfortunately.
Alpha Predator is the latest 188男团 novel of the series, and by so far, my absolute favourite. The story follows Shen Dai, an B rate omega, who agrees to marry off on behalf of his half-brother to pay off his father's debts. Little did he know that his meant-to-be husband was Qu Moyu, the heir of the Xingzhou Group, his boss, and the man who saved him from an embarrassing situation years ago. Shen Dai knows that the best option for him is to see this marriage as a financial exchange, but he can't help falling in love with the handsome yet ruthless Qu Moyu.
This novel is an ABO classic, but who doesn't love classics? I do. I love Alpha Predator, and I read the whole book in four days. I must mention that Suida knows how to draft addictive novels. I devour this one, and I miss the feeling I got while reading it.
Before reading the novel, I saw someone ranking Qu Moyu as the scummiest gong of all the series, even worse than Shao Qun, and I was scared. What could have this man do to be worse than Shao Qun? When I finished the novel, I couldn't disagree more.
Although I am well aware that what Qu Moyu did was atrocious, to say the least, I understand why he did all of that. He was raised to always value rationality and benefits above everything, even his own feelings. And guess what? I'm weak. I never hated him. I adore how he addressed all what he did, he reflects about it (and I put this in italics because I feel like most of the love interests don't regret their mistakes and just try not to do that badly again), and he works hard to be a better husband, father, and man. In conclusion: I'm biased. Qu Moyu best 188男团 gong. 💜
Before going to the next novel, let me at these two bullet points:
The ABO. It was extremely interesting to see how alphas and omegas were divided into classes according to their pheromone level and how it played a key role in the protagonists' lives. The scenes where pheromones came into place were /screams.
The romance. QuShen is the best 188 couple, beat it.
🫧 —Winner Takes All. | 4/5 ☆.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
carrd.
Winner Takes All is the first 188男团 novel I read, and I would also recommend it to be your first one if you want to get into the 188男团 world. The pace is easy to follow, and Zhao Jinxin is one of the least scummy gongs of the series.
The book's MC is Li Shuo, who is dearly loved within the fandom and had played the second love interest in other novels (Sissy, for example), and we see how he falls in love with 🥁 his enemy's cousin, Zhao Jinxin. Really, one of the greatest sins Zhao Jinxin has committed is to be Shao Qun's cousin (and this isn't even his fault, you see).
Li Shuo and Zhao Jinxin have good chemistry. They have a lot of interests in common and their families are friends. One could say it's a match made in heaven and that nothing could go wrong... right?
Well, well, well, let me tell you that I was so heartbroken that I had to listen to Bad Bunny songs to not cry. But don't worry! It's a HE.
🫧 —Additional Inheritance. | 3/5 ☆.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No carrd, unfortunately.
Additional Inheritance («Maldita herencia», Damned Inheritance in Spanish) is Luo Yi's and Wen Xiaohui's story. Everything starts when Wen Xiaohui receives her adoptive jiejie's suicide notice —but not only that, her jiejie left him a considerable amount of inheritance along with her only child, a fifteen-year-old boy named Luo Yi, who has a high IQ and is considered matured for his age.
For this novel, I remembered I posted a tweet with a theory of what could ruined Luo Yi's and Wen Xiaohui's happiness. My moots called me ‘witch,’ and for one moment in my life, I hated being right.
To say I was shocked was the least. I texted, let's say, six of my friends and told them what was going because I couldn't believe my eyes. How could he...?!
And so, yes, I can't say that I hate Luo Yi, but I also can't say that I love him. I don't want to post a spoiler here, but, hey, I was reading a little in my graduation party and I didn't know what to do with my feelings.
As for the plot, I enjoyed how Wen Xiaohui escalated in the fashion world (I like to call it that way) and I felt proud of myself for understanding the finance part (my financial market course is so useful, hehehe).
Tumblr media
So, these were the 188男团 I've read so far and a little of what I think. I plan to read Yet You're In Love With an Idiot and Professional Body Double, so the next post of 188男团 will be of them. I hope you enjoy the reviews and give a try to any of these novels if they attracted your attention (READ ALPHA PREDATOR). Angie's off.

Okay what the hell happened while I was asleep?
I just read the message from the Ahsoka Mun giving me back my account because she doesn't want to play her anymore because we are "way to fucked up" for her and "no one understands her and her jokes or what she writes."
I mean yeah I had a few discussions with her too because of the way she treated Oona like she's completely incompetent and stupid. At least I felt that way.
But now it's all of us who are against her and I'm so confused because I had the feeling all of you welcomed her very well in our group just like you did with me and all those post I have seen didn't seemed to be a problem except that one post with Vader that went a bit to far in my opinion... But this was again more on her side. She was the one provoking him while he tried to reconcile and to get out of this situation.
I can understand that the way we are doing our rp with so many people, so many different timelines and somewhat of AU versions of the characters can be confusing and overwelming for some. Sometimes it's also confusing for me when for example I see Vader is suddenly no longer the big bad but good and helpful (no offense I find this idea really interesting), but that wasn't the biggest problem for Mun. Apparently we were all incredibly mean to her, have conspired against her and everyone only complains to her about how and what she writes.
She even delted her tumblr account with which she reached out to me to join us.... Or she bloged me idk.
I know it's none of my business what you wrote with her but I kinda feel responsible here because this was formerly my account and I brought her into the group giving the role and the account to her. I'm just really confused because this is coming so suddenly. So I guess something big happened last night while I was asleep or something idk.
Well whatever happened I really don't want to lose Ahsoka in our RP so I will continue the blog. I will figure something out how to manage all those accounts. I found about the tip that if I use multiple browsers like chrome, firefox etc. and the incognito mode of them I can be online with multiple characters at once so switching will be easier for me.
Still it would be awesome if we find someone else who writes as Ahsoka because I always feel so strange writing with myself and Ahsoka is one of Oona's best friends. They grew up together and see each other as sisters, they talk and do much stuff together so yeah....
I have no idea what else to say. Except I'm really sorry for the trouble and drama again. It feels like this week I'm just causing problems here even if I know nothing of this is really my fault let alone was in my power to control it at all...
I also kinda have this feeling, what ever happened, it was mostly her fault because of the way she always reacted when I told her to stop treating Oona like that. She was always immediately offended and went into attack mode telling me she would treat Oona like everyone else although it definitely wasn't the same.
Like yeah it's okay for me to treat Oona like a child and to try to keep her out of danger etc. as long as people don't forget she's still a jedi learner and not completely helpless even if she's clumsy. But not the way Ahsoka's Mun did. Oona isn't stupid. She's just naive and quickly confused who often underestimates herself. Same with Calico who also isn't stupid just way to impulsive and too convinced of her abilities. Both are children who are tyring to understand the world and what's happening around them on their own way while they're also trying to learn to control all those feelings they have.

this is random but I really think sometimes people forget that Jordan is his own character and not just this perfectly crafted boyfriend to be good to Layla bc all her love interests have been crap. It’s way people nitpick everything he does and never even call out Laylas faults if she’s wrong in the situation or just consider his own feelings
Not random. I feel the same, actually.
I'm so happy Layla has an outpouring of fans. I'm one of them. She's my fave in the show.
To a degree, Asher and Spencer tried to play the "perfect boyfriend" role in different ways. Asher must've been super charming when they were growing up, and their status together made everything perfect. Spencer kept her from real things going on in his life and put her on this rich pedestal.
The reason why Jordan is so perfect for Layla is because he's not perfect at all. His role on the show is not Layla's amazing boyfriend. He happens to be an amazing boyfriend because they work so well together. But there isn't any "Ken" stuff going on here. He is his own dude with hopes and dreams and struggles and insecurities.
So we gotta cut him a break when he screws up, just like we do Layla.

wow wee … if colby plays into the stuff with shea on purpose then that’s not really a good look on him. if I had a friend that constantly did shady things behind my back it would make me not want to trust them anymore. maybe colby is too nice, but still it’s wrong that someone is using him or his look to take advantage of many things involving him. I do not understand why colby would ever want to play these games with ppl like that. it sounds insanely exhausting. maybe he likes the mystery behind everything even though to a fans pov it’s kinda frustrating or weird. it kinda gives me fuckboy vibes in a way. now I don’t wanna say colby is a douche or anything because that’s being mean, but a man constantly playing these games with these girls he knows is just gross in my eyes. we can’t just blame shea or stas because he is also participating in this. what are your opinions on that? because it really leaves a sour taste in my mouth. maybe I’m wrong. if I am then please let me know. I just hate it when men play these little games with ppl I just think it’s very immature.
i think it's good to remember that we don't know the full situation. there are definitely a lot of moving parts to this whole thing that we don't know about and haven't seen, so a lot of what any of us feel is just a really big assumption. i don't think one party is the main villain or problem, i think all of them play a role in what we see and what we don't see, and the general issues that arise.
and while shea and stas are similar in a lot of ways they are also really different.
but since you are asking about my opinion, this is what i think based off of what i have seen and know (whether or not that's the whole truth is a different story altogether).
there is a lot of layers to this - a lot of which stem from colby and end up festering from the girls, so to speak. colby likes to stir the pot, that's been made clear for a while now. even more proof when he did stuff with amber and then apologized for it, only to do it again a year later with all those tiktoks they made. the difference is, amber isn't continuing the gag behind the scenes. and most importantly, colby is signing off on what gets posted with the two of them involved since he actively participated in it.
nonetheless, colby is a shit stirrer. but at the same time, he doesn't want to be talked about/doesn't like drama. so when he stirs the pot, he only wants it to happen for the amount of time he wants it, and then he wants it to stop. but the problem is, if you get the fandom riled up you don't get to decide when they stop being upset. and that happens time and time again. he likes the attention and he likes ppl talking about him; i mean, he is a social media person, that's kinda the whole nature around being one so i don't fault him for that. but when he gets tired of it, he wants it to stop immediately. but that doesn't happen, so he gets frustrated.
another issue with colby is that he has commitment issues and attachment issues, both of which he has admitted too. both of these stem from past bad experiences with love and continue to this day. the commitment issues cause him to be flaky towards women he is interested in and not go all the way into an actual relationship with them, even tho (from the outside) that is what it seems like they are in and what he wants. so he ghosts girls pretty frequently. and the attachment issues cause him to be clingy towards and constantly crawl back even if things are done.
so while he may not want to actually be in a relationship with certain women, he'll want all the things that come with a relationship without the label. but at the same time, he's scared to be with said women, so he's always one foot in the door one foot in the grave. he wants the girl to be into him, he's made that abundantly clear that he likes when the girls are really into/obsessed with him to some degree (at least to me). but the issues that follow are basically this - they end up wanting more (bc he seems to want more too), but then he gets uncomfortable with them wanting more and thus moves on. or the other option plays out - they play house for a bit, only for the girl to lose interest, and once she does he pretends to have never wanted it anyway and is already gone.
with all of this in mind, how does this play out with shea and stas?
shea is an interesting case since she is the original, the og, of all of this shit. they have been friends with one another for years now, since 2015/16. and as i've have speculated before, i think the reason why they are as close as they are is bc i think shea was there for him when his ex broke up with him way back when. i think her (and brennen) were the two ppl that kept him together bc him and sam were not in a good spot in their friendship (something they both admitted to) and sam was preoccupied with his new relationship with kat. colby was able to rely on shea for emotional support and brennen was there to be the single, fun guy friend to go partying with.
and i think bc of this, shea and colby grew really close with one another. the problem that arises is that to me, shea was in love with him. and as the years have gone by, i go back and forth between whether or not anything happened between the two of them - whether or not they were ever really a thing. bc shea likes to argue by either saying that her and colby were currently dating circa every year but the last two or so, or that colby liked her back then and she rejected him. for years, i used to argue that i don't think they ever were a couple, but now… i'm a bit on the fence. i think their deep connection can come across as one and has probably crossed some boundaries. do i think they ever called each other bf/gf and made it official? no. but i do think they had something going on at one point secretly, and now they're just friends with a muddy past.
the problem is, fans don't know that. so they read whatever's going on with them as either a 'will they won't they' or that they are secretly together. which is also why shea can get away with telling fans they are secretly a thing bc ppl already speculate it and think it to be true. plus if it's coming from her, why shouldn't they believe it? she's one of the parties involved.
however, this ends up making colby look like either the worse boyfriend ever or just a douchebag bc he's literally hooking up with other girls while shea is telling her goonies that they are basically ready to hit the courthouse (not really but you get my gist). i mean, prime example was when they did the most recently adventure buddies in 2020. shea's fans were talking about them finally being together again or finally getting together, but around that time colby was literally WITH someone else. so either he looks like a guy that can't keep his dick in his pants, or shea is a liar.
and while i think the first is true to some extent, the second is a fact regardless.
and the reason shea gets away with a lot of this stuff is for two reasons: one, colby truly does love her as a friend and allows most of this to happen bc he's never gonna see the negative side of a person he cares about and two, bc he likes teasing the fans too and her doing it probably goes mostly unnoticed by him. i think he knows to some extent the shit shea has done, but at the same time probably not all of it; mixed with the fact that i don't think he fully cares. bc nothing she has done has been heinous or really maliciously intended (for the most part, i'm assuming, to him). not to mention, most of the ppl shea has fucked with are either fans that adore her (so they forgive easily and don't make a big stink about it), fans that become haters (bc they're spreading negativity and that's a no-no to colby) that end up leaving the fandom, or are girls in his real life that he doesn't care to lose aka any of his hookups. none of the girls he's been with over the years were serious relationships, which is why shea can be his watch dog and loom over him and basically intimidate these girls bc he doesn't see them sticking around in the first place. and the only reason the shit that happened between amber and shea didn't become a bigger deal is bc amber is a grown adult woman, unlike shea who is still playing high school games, and probably doesn't fucking care what a random girl from the mountains has to say about her.
and after all of this, i still gotta talk about stas lol
so stas…. she's a very interesting tale. bc she did a lot of the same shit shea did: talking in gcs about colby, liking ship edits, posting content only of him and her (only behind a paywall), making content with him and her in it, ect. but the difference is - he actually put distance between him and her.
this alone, proves to me, that he never had feelings for stas. or was never interested in her more than platonically.
stas came into colby's life first back in 2019, but didn't become a prominent person until 2021, and then more so in 2022. from my understanding of what other anons have told me, stas has been talking about colby/snc since 2019, and has made that connection with fans way back when even tho she wasn't even close to snc, since at the time she was just known as kat's friend.
my guess to all of the shit that happened with stas is this: i think she had feelings for colby, and kat knew. kat then tried to pair her and colby up all the time during 2022 when the core four was a thing bc she wanted to help her out and wanted stas and colby to date. however, colby was already paying attention to another girl, six flags girl, and so he was never gonna be interested in stas. stas also came in around a time when shea and colby weren't doing so hot (shea complained about not being invited to their halloween party and then later the next year was liking comments on tiktok saying that fans ruined adventure buddies, so clearly they weren't doing too well. plus she also deleted comments about him from tiktoks.) and bc of that, he got close to stas and relied on her for emotional support. this further solidified her feelings for him, and while i don't think he played into them as heavily as maybe with shea, i think stas was already sculpting out a life with him and her dating, which is why i've dubbed her the y/n fantasy. she wanted to date colby brock and get all the fame and fortune that came with that. she likes fans attention, which is why even to this day she's still posting content about him behind a paywall.
what happened after all of this played out is truly anyone's guess, bc clearly after they all came home from europe, something went sour. and not just with colby and stas, but stas and the whole group (minus sam bc sam doesn't really have opinions unless kat allows him to have them). and that's why there was a period of time when stas was shunned from snc/kat. that's why we get her telling fans that she feels abandoned, that kat ignores questions about her, that she doesn't appear in any videos, that colby deleted shipping comments about him and her (and of him and shea too - which was a first). could all of this be from the fact that stas allegedly was telling fans where they were in europe so that's why ppl were able to find them? was it the fact that her roommate was liking tweets about fandom drama and shea? was it bc her mom was posting shit too? or maybe was it bc she amped up their whole """relationship""" to fans and once malishkagate happened, fans were literally congratulating colby and her for finally coming out as a couple? who knows for certain. what i do know is, she crossed a boundary and colby put distance between her and him. which is why she has a poem insta, and why she threw a fit (and then deleted all of the tweets) on twitter when she was in vegas and colby was out on a date with a girl.
so time passed, and once stas was out of the picture, shea came right back into it. then stas and colby became cool with one another, and now all of them friends again (well, except stas and shea. that would be a very weird friendship).
where does all of this leave us?
if i am to be so blunt: i think colby is terrified to be alone, which is why he can complain about being used in one breath but in the next not cut off the ppl that are in his life that do use him. he tolerates the games shea and stas play bc he himself likes to play games. not only that, but he also likes having attention on him - not only from fans but from the girls. and they don't seem to mind giving him what he wants. he likes girls that are into him too much bc then there is the guarantee that they aren't gonna leave him. but that also comes at the price that they walk over him and cross boundaries and constantly want more from him even tho he's not interested. or maybe he is, who fucking knows.
again, i don't think a single party involved is the main problem. they all are. somedays it's shea, others it's stas. and sometimes it's colby.
all i know for certain is that i'm tired of all of this. i regret ever getting into colby's love life, truly. especially now since it's the same players time and time again. at least throw in a random girl i've never heard of before lol

If i remember it well, It is rhys who brought Mor to illyria. He was young that time and perhaps has ming gaslight all the guard. And another I dont understand here. Their hatred to Eris. Mor surely know if she sleep with Cassian, there will be consenquences. Oh come one, a 12 years old boy can tell his mom is going to be mad when he broke a plate or his mom vase..we know. But for Mor, of course she knew. I understand she was panicking, desperate at that time. But what left me wondering is, why she pin the blame to Eris alone? It was as if her family in Hewn City got away. 5 century, the IC is still bitter of it. Eris said dont he? It was not him that nailed Mor's stomach and dumped her in the autumn border. And in Eris position, he is equally in trouble too. Beron must be livid to have his son humiliated like that. The punishment? We know this old Beron need no reason to punish his son. But I take that Mor is smart here, she push all the attention to Eris, she got 2 thing.
1. She get to get away from her family, if she blame her own family. That will lead to more drama, and I doubt mor want anything with her family. You cancel out a problem by creating a bigger problem. As time goes by, Mor and her family is forgotten but Eris fault remain.
2. Eris will shoulder the blame for her and Azriel (as in the nestaxbuffer) , continue to play guard for her. From Eris. 5 century isn't short. This is very long and Mor let Azriel continue his role.
We can see Mor is comfortable with the situation created. We don't know what Keir lost from the alliance but we sure know Eris shoulder most of the consequences. His reputation is ruined ( he is in his 20/30s that time, I assume he is not yet evil as people call him) in high society surely people gossip behind him. Who knows if LoA got involved too during the pusnisment? You know " you raise your son to be soft" -Beron. Mor got safely tucked in Velaris in the other hand, but not her female family in Hewn City.
Mor knew exactly what she was doing that night.
“I was desperate, reckless that night. I’d picked him not just for his kindness, but also because I wanted my first time to be with one of the legendary Illyrian warriors. I wanted to lie with the greatest of Illyrian warriors, actually. And I’d taken one look at Cassian and known. After I got what I wanted, after … everything, I didn’t like that it caused a rift with him and Rhys, or even him and Az, so … never again."
She didn't really care for the consequences as long as she managed to break off the betrothal - but also didn't consider the impact it would have on a 16 year old Illyrian bastard either. The Hewn City could have quite easily demanded that Cassian be killed for ruining their alliance with Beron. Rhys was only 16 and not high lord. Would his father really have cared about the stray Illyrian his mate and son have brought in? Probably not.
With regard to Eris, at that point he has a reputation for cruelty which is one of the main reasons Mor doesn't want to marry him, so it probably bolstered it. I think he does do cruel things when he needs to, so was probably glad of the extra reputation he gained by not actually doing anything until 500 years down the line when he needs the NC to back him against his father.

Hi! I hope this doesn't come off weird at all but you put a ton of thought it seems into playing Valerie and I was trying to play a Corpo for the first time through and I'm struggling with connecting with them so I figured I'd ask, since Valerie lives in my brain rent free all the time, how you roleplayed her from her fall from Arasaka in the prologue through the game? How do you feel her ambitions evolved? Was she invested in her future at Arasaka before the whole Jenkins storm? How did Goro impact her as she went through her journey? I'd love to hear more, not just for my own interest in roleplaying a corpo but genuinely because I'd love to know more of her lore if you're willing to share!! <3 Sending you much love and happy holidays!! <3
Hiiiii! 💙💙💙 Not weird at all--Thank you so much for the sweet words! I'm always more than happy to ramble about my girl. (And a long ramble this will be, haha.)
Back when I first picked up the game, I actually chose the corpo route because of my own professional history. I worked for a company that does not align with my personal values at all for about 10 years, quit with the lofty dream of finding something better, and recently had to go back because I couldn't find anything better and my financial situation was bordering on desperation.
So to be a little dramatic about it: I didn't have to do too much heavy RPing to know what it feels like to have to sell your soul for a paycheck, lmao.
But in general, I actually often gravitate towards playing characters that do turn to shitty institutions because I just think it's really interesting to explore why they do that, especially if they are aware of its faults or have strong principles that don't actually align with the system (which is something I found very compelling about Goro, too). At its core, I think people in Night City turn to corps for the same reason they turn to gangs or clans: financial security, safety, community, a sense of purpose, power/ambition, etc. And what makes one option more palatable than another could be something as simple as being at the right place at the right time (e.g. Goro getting picked up by Arasaka as a kid).
For Valerie, she came from a corporate family. Both her parents were mid-to-high-tier employees for Biotechnica, and she did live a financially privileged childhood, so she was already kind of primed to accept that as the path to a comfortable life. Valerie actually had a fall from corporate grace before the situation with Arasaka: the tl;dr is that she also worked for Biotechnica for a couple of years but was fired, had no safety net as her parents were both deceased, and she struggled on the streets for a few more years, which is how she met Jackie.
Living gig-to-gig, working in sleazy clubs, sleeping in her car, crashing on friends' couches when her car got stolen, sharing studio apartments with 3 other people--None of this was the life she wanted, no matter how much Jackie tried to hype her up about her "freedom." Valerie isn't greedy or power-hungry, nor is she motivated by fame, but she does want a few nice things and a decent place to live. Right or wrong, she just doesn't think that is a lifestyle that's attainable without a corporate job.
That said, Valerie does not believe in Goro's idealism about Arasaka (well, I don't think he fully believes it entirely either, especially by the conclusion of the Devil ending, lmao). She's under no illusions that corporations are good, and she knows they're ultimately responsible for the shitshow they live in, but she is not a radical. She is not trying to change the world. (She's pretty pessimistic in this regard, actually--She doesn't really think anything can change the world). She's just trying to carve out a little slice of happiness for herself and the people she cares about.
Regarding her role in Arasaka specifically: I did age Valerie up from the canonical age, and I have her working with Arasaka security as soon as the new tower opens in 2070. She meets Jenkins on a security detail in 2075, they have a certain rapport, and he convinces her to move into his counter-intel division. Valerie almost immediately regrets that choice--It's one thing to escort 'Saka execs through gang war zones and hostile streets; it's another entirely to work for an unhinged boss who constantly makes batshit crazy decisions.
Although she has her doubts about Jenkins' leadership during the prologue, she does want to stay with Arasaka for that financial stability and security. I think if they had managed to pull off the hit on Abernathy, Valerie probably would have eventually tried to find a way to get out from under Arthur's grip, although she probably would have found herself in a similar situation again at some point. If she has any idealism about the corporate world, it's that she can somehow get outside the constraints of the inescapable rat race.
But Valerie is devastated when she gets brutally fired from Arasaka, and in the months between her termination and Konpeki, she's pulling double duty working with Jackie in the streets and trying to find another corporate job (much to his dismay).
(Small tangent: I actually couldn't roleplay how I really wanted to the first time I played the corpo prologue--I wanted to call Abernathy and snitch on Jenkins, haha. So I did in the Corporate Loyalty alternate universe I've been playing in--That version of Valerie does feel more inclined to pursue corporate ambition than canon!Valerie, although the root of it is still a desire more for security than power.)
One thing about the game that frustrates me is it does often railroad a corpo!V into saying shit like "I don't miss the corporate world. I'm free now." Valerie doesn't see her circumstances like that at all. She doesn't really believe there is any true freedom in Night City. Unless you're at the top of the top (a position Valerie doesn't think she could ever achieve), everyone is beholden to someone or something else--Fixers, gangs, corps, cops, street violence, money, natural disasters, whatever. She genuinely believed that working at Arasaka was the best opportunity available to her.
So regarding Goro, they mostly see eye-to-eye here. Like I mentioned above, Valerie thinks he has some rose-tinted glasses on about the benefits of the corporation, and she has little reverence for the Arasaka family themselves; Goro and Valerie definitely have some cultural differences here when it comes to the expectations of corporate loyalty. But after their initial distrust subsides, Valerie has a lot of empathy and compassion for what Goro is going through with his own unceremonious termination from the corporation because she was just there, too.
When I first started playing the game, I actually wanted my V to lean more into the power-hungry, super ambitious, and callous kind of corporate character, but Goro's integrity actually did a lot to pull me in the other direction and go for a fairly average person with a mostly good heart whose just trying to make the best of a shit situation. I think both routes are super interesting, but a softer touch ended up being exactly what I needed for Valerie.
I feel like this was really long and kind of all over the place--Sorry, haha. Hopefully, I at least touched on your questions and maybe got some ideas rolling for your own corpo V! 💙 And thank you again for asking about her! It really means a lot to me. 💙💙💙

Kari, there are theories circulating about Keiwa's actions. Some say, it's the fault of his buckle (if that's the case, this is a Berserk form) some say it's his inner demon given form. (making this the Hi-jacked form)
Another is Keiwa came back wrong. Keiwa died and Beroba and Kekera resurrected him via Mitsume's powers. The thing is, we have seen ALL the wishes that were granted by Mitsume as the goddess of creation, all except one.
We haven't seen the wish that brought back Keiwa to life.
your thoughts?
Long post ahead
I don't think Bujin Sword really qualifies as a berserk form in the usual sense, nor does it seem to be a Kagerou-type situation. So far Keiwa has demonstrated awareness of his actions (something normally absent in a typical berserk form, like Primitive Dragon or Build Hazard). And I have no reason to believe that the inner demon shown in the crossover with Revice will make a reappearance because crossovers rarely impact the show in any significant manner beyond the trinket-of-the-movie showing up in an episode or two (which already happened).
I think of Keiwa's inner demon as a one-off oddity that hints at the current character arc, without actually being relevant otherwise. I would compare it to how HeiGen Final established the "World of Build" as a separate universe from the "World of Ex-Aid and co.", which would later hint at Sento's endgame of creating a new universe- but the "World of Ex-Aid and co." doesn't actually play a role in that endgame.
I think the third theory- that Keiwa somehow came back wrong or not quite himself- is the one that makes most sense. It is true that all we know is that he was most likely revived via the Goddess' powers, so we have no idea if the wish involved was just a straight revival or otherwise. The fact that Kekera, who has since been proven to be acting in bad faith, is the one who likely made this wish is another point in this theory's favor.
However Keiwa, imo, did not act particularly different from the time he got eliminated from the DGP. He was more prone to anger, but he was thrown into a much different situation than he had been from before- his sister was directly in the line of fire this time around. We already know he's less levelheaded when it involves her, so it's to me it's par the course for him.
Furthermore, Keiwa isn't the only one that has been revived miraculously. Niram was most definitely dead after the JGP like Ace was. Win should've died (getting his head blown up would do that), but didn't somehow. Both were, per Niram himself, revived on "the authority of Suel", and neither seemed to have any significant personality changes.
My own theory is, really, the most straightforward one. Keiwa is just Keiwa, but he has well and truly had enough of all the bullshit thrown his way and is lost in the despair and grief of losing his sister. And now he's making everyone who he holds responsible for his pain pay for their sins.

So, I've been following JD vs AH case for all of these past weeks and I have something to say about Amber Heard's testimony in relation to Johnny Depp's
First of all, although I believe 100% he is the victim in their relationship, I cannot say they — his attorneys — proved without any doubt he wasn't violent towards her, although I do understand that would be extremely difficult to do and that the contrary — that she was violent towards him — was undoubtedly proved.
Plus, Amber Heard's attorneys have been consistent with their line of accusation, it's true, but it's becoming more and more obvious to everyone that, IF there was physical abuse from Johnny (wich I highly doubt), it wasn't at all as violent and terrible as they — she — said it was. At least that's my view of what's happening and is being presented on court.
Now, to their testimony: when we talk about JD's testimony in relation to AH's, we can see somethings that don't come off wright.
My first point is that she looks like stating facts — this happened, this happened and this happened — but she isn't putting her own actions or her emotions into consideration (wich generally makes her story not seem believable), it seems like she's witnessing the abuse from behind cameras — and that's really interesting because it's one indication of lying, although it can also mean she's distancing herself from traumatic memories as well, I admit (but don't believe it really).
In opposition, Depp's testimony is full of emotion: even when you don't hear it in his voice or see it in his face, he often doesn't talk about what is happening after he says he was hit/punched/smashed, but instead focus on his feelings and his understanding and processing of the situation, wich seems more believable and truthful. Plus, he stays within a good timeline and don't cause confusion at all, wich is something I can't say for AH's testimony.
Another thing that caught my attention was staged her pauses looked like: she always paused when she wanted her words to cause an impact wich for itself makes me think about her testimony as a big show. We can see, on the other hand, that Johnny Depp's pauses are made to allow him to think about his answer, how to phrase things, remembering, etcetera.
The third thing that I notice is how often she downplays her own faults (alcohol addiction, violent behaviour prior proved, cocaine addiction...) to point out Johnny Depp's fault (wich are similar to her own, tbh) all the time — btw, everyone noticed that she's setting the precedent to use his alcohol abuse and drug use latter as a explanation for the abuse?
Johnny Depp's, on the contrary, does not avoid his own faults, he admits to them, he is honest about them (from all we know, at least), and does not try to downplay them as a minor detail in their relationship problems because everyone can see from the proofs that they are not — not saying here that the drug abuse made him an abuser, of course, just that they played a major role in their relationship.
In conclusion, I think that, if Amber Heard's team don't have a really bombing and reliable proof of his alleged extreme abuse, they are doing wrong in trying to show Amber Heard as a giggling, naive, young victim, because almost all the evidence proves she's anything but. She has a long history of drug abuse, of violence towards friends, partners and family, she was caught cheating on JD with James Franco and Elon Musk... If they presented her as a reactive victim, that would be stronger than this line of narrative.
Plus, the insistence in the sexual and extreme physical violence towards her without any medical records shown untill now... I mean, to recover from that alone it would be almost impossible and would took a really long time without medical treatment.
An observation (correct me if I am wrong) but the photo of her bruised arm was the same occurrence of when she said he punched her repeatedly in the face, right? Why she took a photo of her arm but not of her face if she was already documenting it?

does Eirian ever want to be a mother? and only says no so it wouldn't cause more conflict between her and Evelyn?
I think Ireland and maternity is a tragic topic which is really really hard to talk about. 'Normally' I would say it would never be something that she desperately wanted, not the way Evelyn does.
But.
Bodily autonomy is hugely important to the way I think about a female Ireland. She gets jack shit in terms of it. She is dragged around, forced into situations where, win or lose, she will be depicted as the bad guy, or even inaction or neutrality - to this day even - is viewed so suspiciously by the UK.
And not just on a state to state level, Ireland's relationship with the church can and has led to some very horrible parts of their history that they are still dealing with. This is - to risk being crude - such a hornet's nest that I am not going to touch in any fic because it just is not appropriate and I am not a good enough writer to talk about it. But at the same time, I also can't pretend that institutions like the Magdalene Laundries and the Mother and Baby Homes have not had a massive impact on Irish society, and its relationship to women and their own bodies. Especially in comparison to the way that canon Male Ireland would never even dream of contemplating.
England - female England - had the social status, her brothers, and the state ensuring that suitable lies were made to ensure that the children (the children that, I do want to emphasise, she stole from their homes) were allowed to stay with her. Meanwhile Ireland is undergoing an entrenched system where babies were forcibly removed from their mothers if they were considered 'unsuitable' (or simply women in general, child or no child). This is not to say this didn't happen in England - it absolutely did (the laundries were an English idea after all), but I don't think I could write about Ireland's relationship with motherhood without addressing that elephant in the room first.
Meanwhile, England is England, and sits several rungs higher than Ireland in the social sphere of Empire.
Back before I wrote the fic I spoke a little about this where Evelyn is someone who conforms by her very nature, and that includes conforming to gender roles. Because she does this, she is able to get away with a type of violence that is sanctioned by the state, and worst of all she refuses to acknowledge it as such.
Ireland is contrarian because its the only way she can retain any sense of autonomy. No, she won't play at being Anglo-Irish like Wellington and Castlereagh and Canning and Guinness to get that power and stability. That's not how she wants to play the game. She has her principles, and no she will never judge or be cruel to someone until they slight her first, but this does mean it's easier to lock her out of important conversations.
This means she is super careful about who she let's in to be vulnerable with, and this includes the kids, because she knows, at the end of the day, they will pick England every time. Their affection for her and vice versa only goes so far. Erin I think sometimes falls into the us vs them trap, and at times can be in a sort of 'if you aren't on my side the entire way I don't want anything to do with you', which means she can be difficult and isn't very good at holding on to all kinds of relationships. This means she can be really hot and cold towards the kids, which is in contrast to Evelyn's - for all her (horrific) faults - unconditional affection. It's one hundred percent understandable why Erin walks through the world this way, honestly how could she act in any other manner, but it makes her easier to isolate. It starts a cycle thereafter.
I think, therefore, your question is not easily answered, at least for me. It requires so much nuance and care. Ireland and maternity is such a loaded topic, and I hate to use that term but I am failing to come up with anything else. It's almost as though what she wants on the matter... doesn't matter.
I think, say if it were a human au, she would not be fussed one way or another. If it happens it happens and she'll be the cheeriest, warmest mother with a slightly too sensitive temper; if it never happens she's quite content to be that cool aunt on the side. Either or, so long as she is not completely locked out of having a connection with children.
As nations, it is not that simple.
