Well, it's the apocalypse, right? Ink would eventually, probably, be unable to refill hisvocals, making him... empty.

And Blue? While there's no guarantee, he could... he could snap.

Yes, I'm suggesting a fallen stars AU.

mmmm tbh i'm not 100% sure how ink refills his vials tbh. In the main infected au they just don't run out bc i couldn't let ink go emotionless for that au but for the sake of this idea i think things might get interesting :3

for the infected fallen stars au they wouldn't really be villains so this will be my own take on this concept :) In this au Dream, Blue, Ink and Cross would split off from the omega timeline bunker and be their own survivor unit. A more nomadic and wandering lifestyle and very stressful as they have to be on constant lookout for infected. Ink would eventually turn emotionless due to being unable to refill his vials and just sort of... exists with the others. He just doesn't seem to really care about anything. He does what is needed to keep the group alive. but he's a shell of what he was. Dream and Blue are deeply upset about this and still try to talk and have meaningful interactions with ink. it just isn't real... Blue snapping would probably be triggered by finding his brother infected. (weather this is cannon to the main au or not we shall see :3) Blue would have even gotten into a fight with his now infected brother and end up Killing him in self defense. That would 100% break him. he only cares about His family team now. and he will do ANYTHING if it means keeping them safe. even things that would have crossed his moral boundaries before. He seems more angry now. Dream as stated before is an absolute mess of emotions due to the literal apocalypse and being forced to eat the corrupted apple. He is Far more violent and easily provoked. he seems to switch from one emotion to the next at the drop of a dime. Something sets him off and within a few moments he is feeling deep regret for whatever he had done. Dream is also constantly trying to make things better but he is stubborn and often messes things up, which doesn't improve the fact he things he is making everything worse. Dream was going to leave the omega timeline alone but Blue found out and through him Cross and Ink so they refused to let Dream go alone. Cross is pretty similar to what he's like in the Main au. He misses Nightmare and the rest of the gang a lot. But he's all but given up hope for a cure now. the only thing keeping him going would be how he's starting to see the stars like he saw the gang. not a replacement but something familiar he misses. alot. i would write more but i would be spoiling parts of the main au :p if you want more lore that contains spoilers i could make another post and use the keep reading thing.

i share with you guys bc i found a community here of likeminded ppl who i could seek comfort in and give comfort to, which is what started ‘big sis beebs’ i turned it into a tag so tht whoever needs my help can get it in whatever way i can offer it, and at first it was fine, i was happy, it was nice being able to be what i never had, my own sister, though one of my fave ppl and amazing, is 30 years my senior we don’t exactly exchange tips on fucking birth control … not to mention how my cousin sisters who are close in age to me make me feel deeply uncomfortable w/ any of tht sort of thing so it made me honestly super grateful tht i could provide some sort of wisdom for my babies .. it made me happy 💕 however, slowly, as i lost the ability to be online constantly due to lockdown easing and i had to go back to uni, work and managing my irl social life, it took me longer to reply to ppl but i’d like to think when i did i would be thorough and actually helpful … but then ppl like THIS started crossing their fucking place so

and the fucking post you’re referring to was a rb … one that spoke to me heavily so i wanted to share in hopes it’d help others which it did and i’m so grateful … bc sharing paternal trauma is one i still struggle with and is something i’ll probably struggle w/ for the rest of my life as a child of diaspora .. so it was a big deal for me … so yes, this did fucking piss me off to no end

JC is the only one, who notices LXC is having a bad day and he more or less subtlely tries to get him to talk ? It had been a long day. A long and tiring day, so if he lost his temper, he couldn’t be blamed, right? He just wanted to go back home and play the flute, perhaps sleep a little, but he was absolutely done with spending time with everyone else. So, why did he find himself still in the company of so many people? Why was he still sitting here with Wangji, Wei Wuxian, Jiang Wanyin and a handful of juniors? Why?

This was all Wei Wuxian’s fault, he was the one that insisted everyone spend more time together. Xichen already saw plenty of Wei Wuxian, Wangji, Sizhui and Jingyi, as well as often seeing Jiang Wanyin and Jin Rulan, due to sect business. If anything, the only person here that Lan Xichen rarely saw was Ouyang Zizhen, and it wasn’t as if he’d spent much of the day speaking to him.

Jiang Wanyin had taken it upon himself to seat himself down next to Lan Xichen, talking to him, hoping that he could get to the root of why the other had been acting differently. “You’ve been quiet all day, which is completely fine, I get that. Sometimes everyone is a bit too much to handle, but Wei Wuxian insists on family bonding, whatever the fuck that me-”

And he just would not stop talking, he’d been talking for so long, all day, when would he stop. “Just leave me alone. You keep speaking to me as if I’ve shown any indication that I wish to continue this conversation. You’re quick to call Wei Wuxian a chatterbox and an annoyance, yet have you ever looked inward?!” When he was met with a stunned silence, he realised something was incredibly wrong.

Oh. Oh no. He had said that out loud, hadn’t he? Well, he couldn’t take it back now, and he had wanted to be left alone. It wasn’t his fault Jiang Wanyin wasn’t taking the hint. Xichen did feel a little bad, when he saw the hurt expression on lJiang Cheng’s face, that abruptly was wiped from his face, only to be replaced by a blank face.

“Apologies, Zewu-jun. I appear to have overstepped.” He stood and gave the other a stiff bow, before leaving the room, not looking or speaking to anyone, feeling thoroughly embarrassed.

Wei Wuxian stood awkwardly after his brother had left the room, wanting to follow him out, but knowing that the other probably wanted to be alone right now. He also knew that he shouldn’t be the one going to ensure he was okay, “Xichen-ge…”

“I am aware, no need to scold me.” Lan Xichen’s voice was terse, knowing that everyone in the room was staring at him in shock, possibly all wanting to scold him for his behaviour.

“Jiujiu was only trying to make sure that you were okay. Talking helps sometimes, you know. He rarely reaches out to people like that, but he did to you.” Everyone here knew his uncle’s temper, just as well as they knew how much he cared, if anyone here didn’t know that, then they shouldn’t be here. They didn’t belong here.

Lan Sizhui put a comforting hand on his friend’s shoulder, “Jin Ling, should you be saying this here?” He knew that Jin Ling was cross with Zewu-jun, but he didn’t want the other saying anything that he may regret later on.

“It’s nothing everyone here doesn’t already know about him.” He scoffed out, his voice dripping with disdain towards Sect Leader Lan. How dare he take his uncle’s kindness for granted.

Xichen tuned out the remainder of the conversation, thinking about the mess he had put himself in. It wasn’t that he disliked Jiang Wanyin, quite the opposite actually, and yet here he was near yelling at him in front all of their friends and family. He wasn’t sure how long he’d been stuck in his thoughts before he realised that he was being spoken to by Jin Rulan again.

“Well? Are you just going to sit here and wallow in your stupid misery, or are you going to go apologise?” There was a fiercely protective look in the younger’s eyes, showing that he’d physically fight the other, even if it meant losing, for his uncle’s honour.

“Jin Ling!” Wei Wuxian sent a sharp look to the younger, inwardly cursing that Jin Ling seemed to have inherited his mother’s fierce protective nature. He felt the same, but he also had the sense of knowing that saying everything you felt could backfire on you within seconds.

“Don’t get mad at me for being mad at him! He was being an assh-” the rest of whatever he was going to say being smothered by Lan Jingyi’s hand, which was conveniently blocking any other derogatory words that Jin Ling may want to speak.

“Alright, alright, young mistress, it’s okay. Let’s calm down now. He’ll go apologise now.” Lan Jingyi gave his sect leader a pointed look, as if telling him that if he didn’t leave to go find Sect Leader Jiang right now, then he would release his friend and let him unleash his full anger at him.

With a stiff nod, Lan Xichen left towards the direction Jiang Wanyin had stalked off to. He found the other leaning on a tree, staring up at the sky, seemingly lost in thought. He slowly approached the other, contemplating how to best bring attention to himself.

“I-” He jumped slightly, when he was cut off, not realising that Jiang Cheng had even noticed him approaching.

“Save it. No need to apologise, I know you were bullied out here.” His voice blunt and to the point, void of any emotion, as if he were trying to protect himself.

Xichen was stunned silent, not knowing how to respond to that. He had been told to come apologise, so it wasn’t as if he could refute that. “Oh.”

Jiang Cheng sighed and shook his head. He had guessed that his nephew and brother had made the other come out here and apologise, but he was hoping that Lan Xichen had wanted to come out on his own accord. Evidently not. And why should he? It’s not as if Jiang Cheng was someone that was important to Lan Xichen. All he’d done was annoy him today.

Lan Xichen walked closer to the other, offering him an apologetic look, “whatever you’re thinking, you’re wrong.”

“I find that hard to believe.” How could he be wrong, when all signs pointed to his conclusions? He’d been annoying, when he hadn’t intended to be. He’d been compared to Wei Wuxian of all people.

“I’m sorry.”

And for what it was worth, he did sound very apologetic, but Jiang Cheng didn’t seem to believe it. “I said save it.”

“You did. However, I do genuinely mean it.” Xichen looked at the other, focusing on how the other was mindlessly fidgeting with Zidian. I’m making him uncomfortable. “I was told to come out and find you, yes, but I would have apologised on my own. I wouldn’t have left it li-”

“Don’t worry, Sect Leader Lan, I won’t let this hinder our sect relations. I’m not so petty so as to do anything that was affect either of our sects, for a personal matter.” Jiang Cheng cut off Lan Xichen, yet again, seemingly realising why the other had gone out of his way to come out to apologise.

“That’s not-” Lan Xichen was beginning to grow very sick of being cut off midsentence.

“I won’t interfere with any of the trade agreements we have existing already, nor any that we may broker in the future.” Jiang Cheng was rambling now, thinking of anything he could, to ensure Lan Xichen that he didn’t want their sects to fall out with each other. “Oh, we were discussing having our junior disciples have an excha-”

“Would you shut up?” If the other would just stop sprouting out useless information, this conversation could end less painfully than it needs to be, instead Jiang Wanyin seemed to want to draw it out.

Jiang Cheng blinked in shock, his mouth falling open. That was the second time he’d made Lan Xichen burst out in anger like that. Wow, he must really hate me.

“If you would just let me speak! I do not dislike you, nor do I think that this should affect our sects standings with each other.” Xichen’s voice was strained, as he struggled to keep his frustrations with Jiang Wanyin at bay.

Jiang Cheng simply nodded in response, “of course not.”

“You don’t believe me.” Disbelief coating his voice, he stared at the other with narrowed eyes.

“I…” he struggled to find a way to word this, without being insulting or rude, “I believe that you do not wish this to affect our sect standings. Nor do I.”

“But you believe that I dislike you.” He put it bluntly, not enjoying the circles they were seeming to go in this conversation.

With a shrug, he nodded. There wasn’t much else he could say on it, it’s not as if he could make his own beliefs go away with the snap of a finger.

“And nothing I say could convince you otherwise?” Xichen was close to losing it at the other again, not knowing how to change the direction of this conversation. “Not even our past relationship with each other, prior to this evening?”

“Sect Leader Lan is a kind man. He gives chances to those who do not deserve them. I simply overstepped my boundaries tonight.” Jiang Cheng was looking up at the moon, his voice void of any emotion as he spoke.

With a sigh, Lan Xichen moved to stand in front of the other, needing to capture his attention somehow. “And sometimes he simply has bad days, that have nothing to do with those around him.” He said it lightly, but his face showed that he was being serious. It really had been a bad day that had come an unfortunate end.

“But I didn’t help.”

“No, you didn’t. But I should have verbalised that, instead of ignored you.” Thinking about it for a moment, he added on something else, “which is why you kept speaking to me. Other times your company and conversation has kept me from my bad days, it was only safe for you to believe that it would be okay today. It wasn’t your fault.”

“Hmm.” He only hummed in response, as if he didn’t want to accept that he played no fault in the situation.

“I don’t know what else I can do to convince you otherwise. I promise you that we are okay. As long as you can forgive me for speaking to you like that.” Right. Apologising was what he’d come out here to do in the first place.

Jiang Cheng narrowed his eyes and looked at the other incredulously, “of course I forgive you, I was being fucking annoying and sticking my nose where it didn’t belong.”

Lan Xichen shook his head almost immediately, “I’d argue out of everyone we’ve been with today, it is a place where you are welcome to stick your nose into. I should have communicated that I wanted silence, it wasn’t your fault.”

When Jiang Cheng didn’t respond, Xichen sighed and nodded, “fine, I can see that this will take some time to move past. But can we do that? Forget about tonight, learn to better communicate with each other? A relationship wouldn’t be possible otherwise.” He quickly turned away from the other, choosing to stare up at the sky, instead of seeing the disbelief on Jiang Cheng’s face at what he had just said. He had more or less confessed his feelings.

Jiang Cheng’s eyes widened in shock as he processed what he had just heard, his cheeks beginning to burn at the implications. He coughed into his fist, “uh, yes. We can do that.”

I've read your thoughts on the noncon kiss between K/ataang (and I agree 100%), so I was wondering what your thoughts were on when Damon kept on trying to kiss Elena even after she rejected him?? (Also, I'm genuinely asking! I actually ship Delena, but this has just always bothered me.)

I suppose the simplest answer to this question is ‘I hold vampires with dodgy morals who began the show as villains to a different standard than I hold the heroic protagonist of a kid’s show’--because the fact of the matter is, Damon began the show as a villain. (And, not that it makes much of a difference, but I genuinely do not remember Damon trying to kiss Elena again after finding out that she was wearing vervain in the third episode--with the exception of the first episode of season 2, which was absolutely a horrible moment and I’ve never denied that. So where did he ‘[keep] on trying’? Genuine question, bc it’s been a while since I saw the early seasons of the show so I could be forgetting something.) Damon was unequivocally a villain and a monster in the beginning of the show, and his road to become a good man was long and not at all linear, and he was never going to be the Hero, because that’s just not who he is. (Which is ok, because not all good people have to be.)

The way the EIP kiss is presented, with absolutely nothing bridging the gap between that and Katara making out with Aang in the finale, it makes it seem like she figured out her feelings for him because he crossed her boundaries, rather than coming to that conclusion because she actually had romantic feelings for him and had worked through them on her own time. Aang makes his feelings her problem, without even asking her how she actually feels about him, and reveals that he assumed they would be in a relationship by now (because of the last time he kissed her without her consent, something that he phrases as mutual when it very much was not). This is especially an issue because it’s a children’s show, and this could very well be some of the target demographic’s first concept of consent in a romantic relationship--so the fact that there wasn’t even an attempt to point out that what Aang did was wrong and why, nevermind allow Katara to actually work through her feelings on screen, is a big problem, and when this gets brushed under the rug by Aang/Kataang fans it seriously bothers me.

By contrast, Elena was able to work through her feelings for Damon on her own time. He killed her brother at the beginning of season 2, unquestionably one of his worst actions in the entire show, and he had an arc where he began to realize that he actually cared about what he’d done--he actually cared about her, and was in love with her--and did everything he could to make it up to her. Crucially, though, he never actually made his feelings her problem, once he came to terms with them. He told her that he was in love with her, but then he compelled her to forget it so that she wouldn’t be burdened with that knowledge--and he backed the hell off. He didn’t even ask for her to forgive him until he was literally dying. And he accepted when she said that she still needed time--time he didn’t have--and didn’t actually push the issue until he was so delirious from the werewolf venom and in the middle of vivid hallucinations that he couldn’t control himself.

Elena kissed Damon at the end of season 2, thinking he was going to die--this was 100% initiated by her and unprompted by him, and it was her saying both ‘I forgive you’ and ‘goodbye’, because she thought he was about to die. (And he would have if Katherine hadn’t shown up with Klaus’ blood.) The next time they kissed, you could actually compare it to the Kataang surprise kisses--because when Damon kissed Elena in 3x10 it was unprompted (though she held the kiss and did not react negatively to it, unlike Katara who looked upset at the pre-invasion kiss and got angry at the EIP one)--but the important difference here is that Elena herself phrases it as a mutual kiss later on when she is talking to Stefan and wants to be open with him.

And the real crux of the matter here is, Elena’s feelings are always front and center in her relationship with Damon. She initiates most of their pre-relationship kisses--2x22, 3x19 (where she nearly fucking jumped his bones lmfao), 4x7--and the one where she didn’t is a kiss a kiss she describes as mutual, and as something she needs to confess to her ex-boyfriend to keep all her cards on the table. (Actually, I just went back to refresh my memory, and she doesn’t just say ‘we kissed’, like Damon said to Bonnie the next day. She says ‘There’s something I have to tell you. And it’s not because I feel guilty that it happened, it’s because I feel guilty that you don’t know. I kissed Damon.’ And then Stefan goes on to punch Damon because of it, because that doesn’t have any gross implications at all, but I’m not gonna go into that bc this isn’t an ‘I hate Stefan Salvatore’ rant. Yet.)

Elena chooses who she wants to say goodbye to in the season 3 finale. Elena chooses who she wants to be with in the beginning of season 4 (because, whatever she felt for Damon [and she owns those feelings and admits to them multiple times without prompting], she never had closure with Stefan, and she needed that before she was able to truly move on), and she chooses who she wants to spend the rest of her existence with after that.

Elena’s choice is crucial in her relationship with Damon, in a way that Katara’s never is with Aang. And I’m not trying to pretend that there aren’t a lot of elements to Damon and Elena’s relationship that aren’t questionable (he’s a 172-year-old vampire with a lot of murders in his past and a history of being a monster pre-redemption, and she’s an 18-year-old girl when they start dating), but again the difference there is that I have different standards for a) enemies-to-lovers relationships vs friends-to-lovers where they are on the same side from the start, and b) vampires vs Kid Heroes, so I’m going to have different expectations going in, and am probably going to react with more distaste to actions in one that might be comparatively tame, but still read very differently in different contexts.

It’s 100% understandable to have a line in the sand re: sexual violence/rape, but there are still vast differences in what is considered ‘par for the course’ in a show like TVD vs one like ATLA. In TVD, compelling humans is normal, and almost every vampire has had sex with humans under compulsion, so when this is brought out as some mark against Damon and only Damon, it makes me wonder why some fans hold him to a completely different standard than literally every other vampire on the show (possible exceptions being the ones who get turned during the show--although Caroline compelled Matt to forget she was a vampire and then continued her relationship with him sooooooo). Not liking TVD because it has issues with sexual violence/how consent is addressed when half the cast can take away the other half’s free will? Very valid. Not liking Damon, specifically, for these reasons when stanning characters like Stefan, Katherine, or.... p much any other vampire on the show???? Not so valid.

Annnnd I’ll get off my soapbox now lmfao. I still have A Lot To Say apparently, and some day I’m gonna get into why the TVD fandom has such a weird relationship w the show’s issues with consent (like why Stefan and Katherine stans will call Damon a rapist while ignoring that their faves are also rapists by the very same metric), but I think that’s a bit beyond the scope of this ask.

also I'm so [eyezoom] on this functionist universe stuff bc like, this is basically the only time we ever see dominus be a character (rather than hearing abt him thru other characters), and even so he remains pretty ambiguous

like, minimus clearly isn't thrilled that dominus didn't show up to see him at the space airport or w/e when they've been apart for two million years - and even tho we later see why he didn't show up, it still shows that there's some tension there

the amount of crowd shots in this issue is insane

I really like the sense we get thru minimus and rewind’s convo that all of this fucked up stuff has happened slowly enough that its become almost normal - like, they talk about it casually, even though its clear they don't necessarily agree with any of it

plus the sense of ‘even if things get really bad ill be okay’ that both rewind and minimus seem to adhere to - rewind having been upgraded from being in the disposable class due to his connection w/dominus, and minimus saying ‘I like to think that obsolescence is something that happens to other people’

I love all the fucked up signage this issue. ‘take pride in being a means to an end,’ yikes

mannnnn I absolutely love the plotline of rewind 2 and chromedome 1...im so glad the story acknowledges that they ARE different, they did experience different stuff on their own lost lights, and rewind 2 being a quantum duplicate doesn't mean he had the same experiences as rewind 1...

and I love so much that chromedome just Doesn't Get It, bc of course he wouldn't - he’s too relieved that rewind is back to even consider that its not quite the same, that the rewind he was forced to blow up is still dead (which is a fucked up thought, so of course chromedome, the master of pushing the past away and moving right along, would want to avoid thinking about that in favor of continuing his relationship w/rewind 2)

it also makes a lot of sense that rewind, who records everything and puts a huge emphasis on history/the past, would be hyperaware of all the differences between him and rewind 1, and his chromedome and this chromedome

AUGHHHH and chromedome referring to an offer he made to rewind that was pretty clearly ‘if your memories of the djd slaughter are too much, I can remove them for you’ ooooof...I love these two so much, like...their absolute opposite approaches to trauma is fascinating

I really like how one of the main ‘things’ in a lot of tf universes is energon/energy shortages, its interesting when the angle is kinda like, ‘energon is a finite resource and the methods to obtain more often involve destroying other planets,’ that's a pretty unique, alien problem for the tfs to have

it also makes sense that the functionists would form partially in response to that (perceived) shortage, and any sort of scarcity would push them further into their extremist views

I like how expressive the characters with visors are...its cute...

and writing wise, both empurata and the tv-heads are such good devices to show evil govt bs. I talk abt it a lot but I like all the ways jro gets creative with the ‘alien robots’ thing; a lot of these concepts wouldn't work at all with humans or other organic aliens

also. this is like the third time rewind has died on-screen in this series lmao (well, if you count the fake-out death where he thought he’d be cancelled out during slaughterhouse)...he ALMOST died in issue 12 too....poor rewind

plus I fuckign love alien robot politics and seeing the absolute control the govt has over cybertronian society in the functionist universe is fascinating - plus from a storytelling standpoint, I think it was brilliant to show the ‘other side,’ aka what things would've been like without the war...which is something ill talk about later when its more directly addressed in the story but man do I enjoy that

Bel’s vampire lore 101

How are they created?

Okies so!!!! Vampires, as usual, are created through a bite by another vampire during the ‘blood letting’ (think of this as like kinky vampire human relations) or feeding process, however, it is only ever done with the human’s consent. So basically if ur in a long term relationship with a vamp and you let them feed off you, you have grounds to become a vamp yourself.

Converting humans to vampires is hella rare, because a vampire will need to have the permission of the coven leaders, do tons of paperwork, and get the humans permission before they can be changed. Think of it like having to get a visa to live overseas with ur partner. Intensive.

Creating a new vampire can be done ceremoniously or in private depending on what the human would prefer. Usually, due to the intimate *cough* it gets hot and heavy *cough* nature of the process, its done privately.

But…. this doesn’t always happen and some vamps are created on accident.

The vampire that creates another vampire is deemed the new vampire’s Sire. In the eyes of the cove’s the new vampire is seen as the Sire’s responsibility and kinda weirdly their property (More modern vamps are lobbying to get this changed but welp what can you do tbh)

Covens

Okay, so far, there are a total of 5 covens of vampires spread out over different European cities. They don’t interact a lot, and vampires may be a part of one cover but live elsewhere.

Each Coven has a different power, and when a vampire is turned they take the power of their Sire and become part of their Sire’s coven. Coven leaders are voted upon every 200 years.

So far we have:

Transformation vampires (Vampire bats bby)

Precognition vampires

Hypnotist vampires

Aura perceptive vampires

Necromancer vampires

I still dont know a lot about these guys, so for now just think of them as like the council of vampires.

Limitations

Okay, lets start with the basics.

Sunlight: It wont kill them, but it does make them weak and grumpy, kinda like me when i get sunburnt. They avoid going outside before dusk because of this, but if they have to, umbrellas and parasols are their best friends.

Silver: Nah, it does nothing to em. Being stabbed by a silver fork is going to hurt anyone, yo.

Garlic: It’s more like an intolerance really. Rue still eats garlic bread bc existence isn’t worth it if theres no garlic bread.

Roses: Can 10/10 fuck up a vampire. Poisonous. Rose on a coffin can keep a vampire trapped.

Religious iconography: Yes! But, only if the vampire believed in the religion before turning.

Holy water: Sick burn yo.

Invitation and consent: this is a huge one. No invite = no vampire. a vamp can easily be trapped by not being given permission to cross boundaries, mainly in houses etc. It physically pains a vampire to do something without consent.

A vampire can be killed by decapitation/dismemberment and burning.

Phil Coulson + 2 times parasailing has come up in his life, both equally unexpected (+ philinda)

This is dedicated to @thatbottleofhaig for opening the gates of heaven and gracing the tag with the parasailing urban dictionary post. This was born bc of you!

Every time he thinks he knows all there is to learn about Melinda May she seems to surprise him. And this time it's no different.

As they stand on uneven ground, white hot sand beneath their shoes he can't help but feel like they're minutes away from completely obliterating every boundary that's left between them.

Even now as her palm presses against him, steadily gripping his bicep, the skin underneath his shirt seems to burn. In fact, his entire body buzzes in anticipation as his mind wanders towards images of a bare Melinda standing before him. Then of her touching him and him doing things with her he's only ever dreamt of ever getting the chance to do.

It's her fault, she's gotten him all riled up at her suggestion of parasailing. There's no denying what she really meant by it. They were both there. They both read the words on that cell phone screen four years ago.

The Bus, 4 years ago

His brows furrow as he reads the words on the page in his hand for the third time in a row.

Got them? (sent 2:03pm)

Ya (received 2:10pm)

How much? (sent 2:11pm)

$20 per (received 2:12pm)

Meet 2:30 @ B's (sent 2:16pm)

Then it's parasailing all day baby 👄(sent 2:17pm)

No matter how many times his eyes run over the words he still cannot understand what the conversation was about.

The situation is dire. An inhuman's life is hanging in the balance with every second that ticked by. They need to solve this case. Unfortunately for them, their star witness is an 19 year old smart ass who still lives in his parents' basement.

The guy's name is Darren and uncooperative doesn't even begin to describe his personality. His mother is an attorney and she is on her way here, so they are about to reach a dead end in a matter of minutes.

The printed out conversation that they are trying to decode was between Darren and his girlfriend. It's the only evidence they could find that could be used against him other than the fact that Darren was at the scene of the crime.

Phil reads the conversation again and still it leaves him with more questions than answers. What 'them' were they discussing? Who is 'B'? And why were they talking about parasailing?

Melinda stands by his side, eyes trained on the paper too.

"Am I just really out of touch or do you not know what what the hell parasailing is supposed to mean either? I feel like I'm reading hieroglyphics."

She meets his gaze, slightly frowning but saying nothing. It's all silent communication. If she knew then she'd say something. But since she doesn't she chooses to stay quiet.

His attention shifts to Skye huddled in the corner of the room with her eyes carefully trained on her own copy of the page.

"Skye?" He asks. Out of everyone she would know. She's the closest in age to Darren.

Without a word she walks over to he and Melinda. She pulls her cell phone from her back pocket, quickly types something, and places it on the table next to them. The screen stays brightly lit, but she makes no move to pick it back up.

"It's-I.......just. I'm just going to leave this here and I'll be back for it in like an hour....maybe 4 months...possibly a year," she mumbles, purposefully not meeting his eyes as she quickly exits the room.

"What's her problem?" He points a thumb in Skye's direction.

Still he gets no answer only an unreadable expression- as always with Melinda these days. Sometimes she'd give him micro-expressions, miniscule hints as to what was going on in her head. It was nothing compared to how open she used to be, but that was before Bahrain and he could never blame her for that.

Her eyes suddenly widen as she stares at Skye's phone in her hand.

She passes it to him. Their fingers brush together, making his stomach flutter. He's a little embarrassed by that. He can't help but feel like a middle schooler with a crush that doesn't even know he exists. Melinda is out of his league. Realistically he knows she'd never settle for someone like him, but he certainly can't order his body to stop reacting to her no matter how much he wishes he could. It's uncontrollable and had been ever since they'd met.

Focus on the mission, Phil.

He reads the opened webpage on the screen:

Before he can even blink Melinda is halfway through the interrogation room, clutching their copy of the text message conversation. The door slams shut.

A bang reverberates through the closed door a mere second later.

Oh, no.

He rushes to the group of monitors that Skye set up in the room next to interrogation.

There's a clear profile view of Melinda and Darren on the top right screen. She has her hands splayed out on the metal table with the paper between them. Darren slouches on the chair in front of her.

"Those are personal!" Darren yells.

"And this is an investigation. Do you have any idea who you're dealing with?"

"I know my rights, bitch," he snarls.

Phil's nostrils flare in response to the pure disrespect directed towards Melinda. She doesn't deserve that.

"Tell us what you've been up to or I'm going to show these texts to your mother," she says.

Darren sits forward, arms crossing over his chest. "I don't care," he says, volume much quieter this time.

She's found his weakness.

"Fine." Melinda turns towards the door, then pauses, keeping her back towards Darren. "Oh and just to let you know....not only am I going to show her this. I'm also going to explain to her what parasailing means."

"Like you know."

"I know what it means and soon she will too. I wonder what she'll think of her perfect son talking like that to a classmate."

Darren's jaw drops, clearly concerned by Melinda's threats now. "She'll kill me!"

Melinda grabs onto the door handle and shrugs her shoulders. "Less of a headache for my team."

"No please! I'll talk! I'll talk!"

After fifteen minutes, Melinda has all of the information they need.

By the time Darren finishes speaking, he's covered in sweat and has his hands running through his hair worriedly.

Melinda opens the door to leave. "Also just a little hint. If you're too embarrassed to use the word sex then you really shouldn't be having it."

Phil smirks. That's how he knows he didn't make a mistake by asking her to join the team. She's skilled and gets results. He knew the agent inside of her was still there. He just had to slowly let it come out of her.

He meets her outside of interrogation.

"That was effective," he compliments.

He thinks that he catches a ghost of a smile developing on her face, but she turns her head before he can be sure.

They find the inhuman three hours later. It's takes until the next morning for Skye to even stand in the same room as him.

Tahiti, now

If he knew then that she would be suggesting parasailing for them in their not so distant future his head would've exploded.

He knows it would've because his heart feels like it's doing that very thing right now. If he's not careful he'll go into cardiac arrest before they even set foot in the bedroom.

Breathe, Phil.

But he can't seem to settle his rapidly beating heart when she stands next to him so calm and collected, blissfully staring out at the clear ocean, a neutral expression on her face.

If only she didn't have the sunglasses on he'd be able to read her thoughts.

Deep breath, relax.

"Melinda," he says, calling for her attention. He doesn't have the nerve to say these words twice, so he wants her to hear him the first time.

"Hmm?" She murmurs, as her thumb begins rubbing back and forth against his bicep again.

Take the leap, Phil. Be bold. Shock her just as she's done to you.

"I need you," he tells her.

Her thumb stops moving as her grip on him loosens, almost moving away completely.

He can see her head turn towards him, her mouth opens to respond, but before she can, he interrupts her.

It has to come out before he loses the nerve.

"I can't wait anymore. I want you now," he blurts out, clarifying his previous statement. The tense muscles in his shoulder blades deflate a bit as he let's go of the burden of keeping this from her. He can't help it. After living through so many years of build up and secrets between them it's been a difficult habit to break.

"How do you want me?" She asks, ducking her head a bit.

Honestly, her words go straight to his groin. If she doesn't mean what he thinks she means this is going to turn into a very uncomfortable situation.

"In every way. But not here. I've heard sex is terrible on the beach. Inside, on a proper bed. We've at least earned that." The fingers on his right hand flex outwards as he speaks. It's one of his anxious ticks.

A pause that feels like eternity fills the air.

"Then let's go," she tells him simply as her lips curl up into a smirk.

Her eyebrows raise above the sunglasses lenses as she waits for him to act on her words.

He grabs her right hand tightly and starts moving them towards their hut.

He's never moved so fast in his life.

So what exactly repulses you about watching Sebastian play Tommy? As someone who grew up around that time, I'm just genuinely curious about younger viewers' different opinions on him and this story. And, yes, Sebastian is portraying him pretty accurately at that time (excluding the typical added dramatic effects for any TV show, of course). He will only gradually get worse from here in the show, I'm afraid. Not sure how many episodes you're in but look specifically for the various red flags (gaslighting, manipulation, etc.). Glad you're enjoying the show though!

Yeah, so I’m not like a stan or anything, but I’ve always enjoyed Sebastian’s performances in Gossip Girl, Captain America, We Have Always Lived In The Castle, etc. And he does play sleazy/villainous characters in some of those, and I’ve enjoyed his antagonistic roles, bc they’re the kind of villains I like—smooth talking, charming. The kind that’s not exactly my poor little meow meow whose actions I want to rationalize, but who’s fun to watch. I like conflict overall in a story, and stories about bad people doing bad things (It’s Always Sunny, Arrested Development, Gossip Girl, Seinfeld). I think the suspension of disbelief that let’s me sit back and chill with it is harder with Pam and Tommy bc it’s real. However dramatized, these were real things that happened to real pple. While I have the utmost sympathy for Pamela, I have absolutely none for Tommy.

I honestly think what bothers me so much is that Tommy is so loud and so blatantly crosses boundaries. He’s such a walking red flag and I want to scream at Pamela to get the fuck out of there. He’s a self absorbed asshole and he’s so rude to everyone, and I personally cannot stand unwarranted rudeness. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves, probably from my years working in the service industry. He’s so very much a shadow of all the gross pple I’ve had to deal with over the years, who bully their way into things and pretend they’re just being playful about it.

And, I mean, Sebastian’s really killing this performance bc I cannot stand seeing him and how he treats Pamela. It’s also bc I know that was truly how she lived for years with him, however much the show might exaggerate. I hate seeing pple stuck in abusive relationships. I hate entitled assholes.

It’s different with his role in We Have Always Lived In The Castle. I read the book before I watched the movie, so I knew what was going to happen. And I knew he was contained to this one story, whereas Tommy is still out there in the real world. As much as he might have been reminiscent of real assholes, Charles Blackwater is fictional. And, I’ll admit, I am not at all into the rockstar look of Tommy Lee, whereas I was into the more conventionally attractive Charles Blackwater. I do think the fact of his personality and real existence would have me just as repulsed by Tommy, even if he fit my personal preferences physically.

TLDR: Tommy is a real asshole in the literal sense, and I hate him.

Who’s your daddy Waverly Earp

So in season one everyone knows by now Bobo dropped the bomb that Waverly is not actually an Earp (by blood bc shes the Earpiest Earp of them all gdi)

Throughout the series Bobo was creepily affectionate to Waverly like he was Willa, he was one of the other people to give Waverly any attention as a kid. He seemingly knew 100% that Waverly wasn’t an Earp by birth and he even his Wave from “his love” Willa. He really had no reason to do that and at the time it struck me as odd (now we know why. nice job wynonna)

We’ve also got:

Killer Miller in episode 2 telling Waverly: “Bobo will be sad to lose you little sister”

Doc in episode 2 as well: “It’s a shame a pretty little thing like you never gets to leave”

Gus telling Waverly to “unstick those wings of hers” implying that Waverly has stayed in Purgatory her whole life

in fact she never went away to college, she took online courses but every bit of information we’re given points to the fact that Waverly has never left the Ghost River Triangle

Waverly being part revenant falls perfectly in line with her mom leaving her, her dad ignoring her, and Willa treating her like shit. So. If Waverly is part revenant, what does that mean for Wynonna’s quest to break the Earp Curse? The heir has to send all the revenants back to hell right?

We know Daddy Earp had been colluding with Bobo to break the Earp Curse in a different way, but we’re never given a reason why. Ward Earp was a shitty dad to Waverly (inattentive, forgot her birthday, etc.) but probably not shitty enough to kill a child... So instead he tries to make a deal with Bobo that goes awry and Bobo takes Willa away and grooms her in an attempt to have another Earp heir who will willingly cross the boundary with him to end the curse.

We saw how that all went to complete and total shit though when a giant tentacle beast tried to rampage and a bunch of other demons entered the GRT. However the other thing that was established in the finale was it matters when walking across the boundary is the INTENT of those walking across. Why point that out at all if it was never going to come up again? Because Wynonna crossing the boundary with Waverly would be completely out of love and unselfish and pure and not at all out of selfishness and filled with malice and betrayal like it was with Willa.

AND IT ALL FITS SO THEMATICALLY WELL WITH WHAT THIS SHOW HAS GIVEN US SO FAR!

Waverly who wants so badly to help fight the Earp curse that she spends her time researching the revenants to identify and find them more easily

Waverly who wishes that she could take Wynonna’s place instead but has been excluded her whole life

SISTERLY BONDS HOLY SHIT I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!! the whole show when it comes down to it centers not on Wynonna being the heir but Wynonna’s relationship with her family. Right now the only family she’s got left really is Waves. Wynonna’s relationship with Waverly is basically the healthiest thing in her life even if it was strained when she first came back to Purgatory. Once Wynonna begins her hero’s journey though Waverly becomes her main source of support. I’m not trying to diminish her relationships with anyone else but even though Doc and Dolls support her there’s a weird love triangle happening there and all three of them just aren’t that great with communicating with each other at times.

Another bullet point for sisterly bonds because even more so now Waverly’s entire existence and protection from Bobo is tied to the weird time loop created when Robert sees Wynonna and Wynonna says Waverly’s name

If Waverly is truly part revenant then as a result her life is tied up into breaking the curse which is literally what she’s always wanted.... just not like this. So we’ll have Wynonna getting rid of revenants as per usual and Waverly will be coming to terms with her heritage but still kicking ass. Because no matter what if she’s part rev she’s still part human, a brilliant strong smart too good too pure cinnamon roll of a human being and if anyone can handle that it’s her. She knows more about revenants than any of them because of all the research she’s done for years.

Gus’ line telling wave to “unstick those wings of yours” back in 1x09. That’s really stuck with me a lot, aside from the obvious hint of her not leaving the GRT. I think that line had way more meaning then we thought. Based on my very limited knowledge of angels, a child of an angel and human is a nephilim and I used to think that was a huge stretch but the fact that she’s being referenced as an angel now by Bobo and apparently by her mother as well makes me think that maybe it’s a bit more literal than we thought. That plus Wynonna’s creepy possible baby daddy rev said that they’d “be the next Adam and Eve” which is gross but also looks like they were beaten to the punch there.

Bobo’s return though is going to impact this somehow but ultimately I think he’ll be something of an anti-hero. I don’t think it’ll change the way the curse gets broken, but whether or not he’ll be around when it gets broken remains to be seen.

TL:DR- Waverly is part revenant but she’s going to be able to handle it just fine because she’s still an Earp even if not by blood meanwhile wynonna is going to take down the rest of the revenants (Except Bobo???? Haven’t figured out his spot yet) and when that’s finished wynonna and Waverly will walk across the boundary together and it’ll work where it didn’t with Willa because they’ll be walking across with pure intent not malice and the curse will be lifted.

What do we know about Göbekli Tepe, the oldest city in the world?

Deep in the hills of Turkey lie the ruins of the oldest known city on Earth. It is so ancient, it predates domesticated food and plants. Woolly Mammoths were still roaming the arctic and Native Americans had not crossed the Bering Straight yet, according to mainstream archaeology. What do we really know about Göbekli Tepe and what does it say about us?

A Settlement of Hills

The Sumerians, the oldest known civilization, believed that an ancient set of deities, a set of deities known only as the Annunaki, came to humanity on the sacred mountain of Ekur and brought them the domestication of animals, agriculture and weaving. Göbekli Tepe may have been the origin of this myth. Göbekli Tepe is in the Anatolia region of Turkey, which is between the Tigris and Euphrates, situating it in the general area where the Garden of Eden supposedly existed. The site consists of about 20 'tells' which are hills. Each tell has a circular structure dug into the hill with massive pillars. On average, each pillar is about 20 tons and 6m or 20ft high. The pillars were set directly into pre-carved slots in the bedrock. These pillars presumably upheld a roof over each structure and most of them feature elaborate carvings in relief, the oldest such carvings on Earth. The earliest layers discovered so far date to around 10,000 BC.

The Younger Dryas

During this time, there was a major cooling event known as the Younger Dryas. Details about this event are hotly debated. Some people believe it happened due to changes in the solar cycle and others believe that it was caused by a cataclysmic comet strike which would have destroyed much of humanity. Prior to this was the Pleistocene. The Younger Dryas event is the boundary between the two. It is precisely during this time the mark of the Neolithic age (New Stone Age). Geologists used to believe that the cooling, which resulted in the last ice age, was somewhat gradual, occurring over a few hundred years. Pollen samples suggest that this happened much more quickly than we previously thought. There have also been small glass beads found on layers across the Earth, from this time, suggesting there may have been a major impact of a comet or asteroid, causing vitrification of sediment. Such an event would have been catastrophic for humanity. If the impact occurred in the ocean, there would have been massive tidal waves around the world. If it hit in the ice of Canada, which some are suggesting, it would have caused global wildfires and something like a nuclear winter, which would have killed a significant portion of humanity in weeks. Recent evidence suggests that it was a comet, around 100km in diameter, which broke apart into large chunks, striking different parts of the Northern Hemisphere. This event may be the key to understanding Göbekli Tepe.

Agriculture and Civilization

It is a well known fact that civilizations did not arise until the discovery of agriculture. Every ancient civilization that we know of today was built on a major crop or crops. Egypt had vast stores of grain, as did Sumeria. Göbekli Tepe predates all known agriculture except the most primitive version of wheat, known now as Einkorn wheat, which was discovered within 20 miles of Göbekli Tepe at roughly the same time as people were building the first layers.

Closeup of Einkorn Wheat. Some anthropologists believe that Göbekli Tepe served as a refuge from the ice age following the Younger Dryas event. It was in a fertile area between the Tigris and Euphrates and would have been suitable for the start of agriculture. Many people fleeing the frozen North and arid South would have found it the perfect refuge. They may also have found ways of dealing with the catastrophic loss of their cultures. In the region, wild wheat was growing plentifully and would have been a suitable first crop since it would have been through slight interventions that the concept of agriculture would develop. These early attempts at growing wheat would have presumably been to mitigate unpredictability of access to food and to increase the yield per acre, which is the only thing that could sustain a dense community anywhere. Much like Cahokia, in Missouri, it would have been a largely ceremonial settlement until the advent of increased agricultural output.

Cults of the Dead

Before humanity believed in gods and goddesses, ancient religion was shamanistic, much like in parts of the world today. Rather than worship different deities, these peoples venerated their ancestors and sought to contact them through various rituals. The rituals are different from culture to culture but, in some cultures, this was done by making carvings into skulls and leaving them in sacred places or leaving the corpse outside to be eaten by vultures, a form of burial known as Sky Burial. Interestingly, the myth of Prometheus may be a reference to that ancient practice. Skull cults have been found throughout the region near Göbekli Tepe. They are often found deposited in "skull depots" or ceremonial locations where ancient Neolithic people would place them. Typically, they were placed near a monument or megalithic structure. They are sometimes found with deep incisions along skull lines or with holes drilled through them. This is the variety found at Göbekli Tepe.

Image By Cobija - Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0 During this time, Göbekli Tepe would have been surrounded by lush areas inhabited by deer, gazelles, pigs and waterfowl. Indeed, the bones of all of these animals are found throughout Göbekli Tepe. However, the animals carved into the columns of each circular structure are other wild animals in the area. It is believed that these served as totems where local hunter gatherers would offer game as sacrifices, marking the beginning both of a veneration of the dead and a sense of religion.

Putting it All Together

Considering the growing consensus that a large collision of some kind preceded the last major cooling event, we can reasonably conclude that the damage was profound and any budding communities on susceptible shorelines or in forested areas burning due to wildfires were probably obliterated. Such a trauma would be on a massive scale and humanity would seek warmer climates and protection. Indeed, in mythology around the world, flood myths and myths of great fires are probably ancestral memories passed down through untold generations of these events. They would have found that oasis in Anatolia at the time, making it a natural spot for them to congregate.

The amount of game per acre would not have been enough to sustain a large population and lacking any form of domesticated plant or animal, the early structures probably served as shrines for those grieving the dead. Imagine being a primitive person in a world that changed overnight and everyone near you is fleeing South to warmer climates. You come across a lush landscape and hundreds of people who have suffered the same loss of family and friends you did. You must grieve your loss and emotionally process the vast pain around you. At Göbekli Tepe, you find that spiritual catharsis that you need. Over time, more and more people come and there is less and less game. People start turning to the land, to the abundant wild wheat in the area and learn to harness it because being together and farming is better than braving the wild wilderness of uncertainty again. Göbekli Tepe is the oldest city on Earth and quite possibly the oldest city which could have even existed. While the first layers were probably mostly ceremonial, the region supported a large population which interacted more, perhaps, than any other population previously. Before we had horses, cows, pigs, chickens, religion, numbers, courts, schools, writing, prisons, laws, fruits and vegetables of any kind, we had Göbekli Tepe and it was so valuable that we figured out a way to stay there and be together and giving the world a roadmap for the future of humanity. Alrighty so while I’m thinking about it here’s basically every element from Beauty and the Beast that I adored

can I say how surreal it was to be in a theater packed with young girls of all ages wearing yellow dresses with their Belle barbies

not to mention all the adults and people my age who’ve been singing Be Our Guest for eternity were all so excited

it was almost like when The Force Awakens came out and Star Wars was alive again and everyone, old and new generations of fans, gathered together.... ya know what I’m talking about? where everyone in the room is buzzing with anticipation

the CGI wasn’t as terrible as y’all thought, y’all need to have a little faith sometimes lol

the casting was excellent!!

i know people have mixed feelings about Emma Watson playing Belle but I honestly wouldn’t have casted it any other way. She’s always been a women’s rights activist, a bookworm and a thinker, and a strong role model for young girls. and her favorite princess was always Belle I mean come on. and her singing voice was so incredible!! that was what I was most looking forward to in this movie and it did not disappoint

she also said in a buzzfeed interview that she imagines Belle would open the Beast’s library to the public and start a school!!! How rad is that?? HEADCANON ACCEPTED

shout out to Dan Stevens for waltzing in 10 inch stilts while wearing a 40 pound body suit

ok Luke Evans and Josh Gad must’ve thought they were in Dirty Dancing because they had the time of their lives

and Luke was pretty attractive. just sayin

overall, the cast was really diverse! not one but two interracial couples! and in general there were a lot of poc in the village featuring a wonderfully sweet librarian dude

Everything about Belle’s character was fantastic I’m not kidding

i think the town had such a consistent routine that she could precisely time when the morning rush started?

despite the village blatantly gossiping about her she was still so nice and polite to everyone

so??? much??? sass??? it was unreal??? When Gaston asked why she wouldn’t go out to dinner with him he assumed she had plans but she was just like “No...” and she didn’t even explain further how freakin savage she shot that boy down

(a few more examples bc this girl was on fire) “Why would I be startled? I’m talking to a candle” and “Is that a joke? are you making jokes now?” and my fav “’Maybe you just haven’t met the right man?’ ‘It’s a small village Gaston, I’ve met them all’”

this is Elizabeth Bennet level Jane Austen would be proud

they touched on how women were expected to have kids in their late teens/early 20s and she’s like “screw that” yeah girl smash that patriarchy

how on earth did it take me 17 years to realize she’s considered odd because she’s the only literate girl in the whole village???????? how did I, a history buff obsessed with the French Revolution, never make that connection before???? this isn’t specific to the new film but still I applaud it good job disney

she was an inventor!!! i don’t know if i’ve ever been happier than when i saw her solving equations and tinkering and making a washing machine so she can read and get chores done simultaneously. emma totally had something to do with this decision absolutely no doubt

she doesn’t ride her horse sidesaddle and that was like a huge faux pas for ladies back then (again, smashing the patriarchy one step at a time)

SHE WAS TEACHING ANOTHER SMOL GIRL HOW TO READ!!! THAT’S SO IMPORTANT AND PRECIOUS I’VE BEEN UNABLE TO THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE SINCE THAT MOMENT

she planned to escape the castle from the beginning and was really creative about it, and no matter what she always found some sort of weapon lying around lol (a random stick, a chair, a pitcher Belle what would you do with that) but she was always prepared to defend herself with somewhat of a plan and attempt at thinking ahead

She was really curious about the curse and asked questions about it to figure out this mystery herself

she was always problem-solving and trying to find a solution to situations and that was so cool girls need to see that strong female leads aren’t always the ones that can fight, but girls with wit and bravery

there was lots of nice background info on characters that otherwise wouldn’t exist, like Belle’s mom’s death, why Maurice chose to stay in that boring village and Adam’s dad being a jerk and turning him into a monster (no pun intended)

Mrs Potts giving us a reason why the entire castle was cursed, not just Adam. They didn’t do anything to stop Adam’s dad from corrupting him and man that’s some heavy stuff

I feel like each character, especially the servants, were so much richer and stronger and more complex, and the stakes were higher bc each time a rose petal fell they became less and less human

even the enchantress had a name and she was gorgeous?

they went pretty dark in this one... like something caused that tree to fall in Maurice’s path and back into an upright position. the wolves wouldn’t cross the gates because of some boundary. the way the whole castle shuddered with each drop of a pedal. i could go on... and the added character depth really helped that dark stuff too

THE MUSIC!!!! WAS SO GOOD!!! I’ve had the album on repeat for.... four days now and I’m not sick of it yet?? please send help

seriously, they did an amazing job. it was perfectly balanced w both old an new songs, and neither of them overshadowed the other. each song got it’s spotlight, they honored the old ones while including new original ones that were awesome (cough forevermore cough cough)

Gaaaaaastonnnnnnnnnnnn omg that sequence was awesome. honestly i think everyone in the theater tapped their foot when he was stomping and dancing on the tabletops

Belle was really good too to me because i’m a nerd for that set design

Days in the Sun is extremely underrated!! but yes, Forevermore is breathtaking it’s growing on me more and more each day

lots of rotating cinematography and spinning i’m a nerd i love it

the costume and set design.... holy crAP it’s stunning

i read somewhere that Belle’s casual getup has large pockets for her books and she has part of her skirt pinned up so she can ride Philipe easier and that’s beautiful

each scene was packed with tiny details that most movie makers overlook and I’m so impressed???? not just visually but there were so many sounds that truly made it feel real like in the village I’d occasionally hear a crying baby or a dog barking or just constant chatter and that’s stuff you’d expect to hear in a crowded village square

the little twinkling lights during the ballroom dance was probably my favorite i may have cried

No one ever say anything bad about Belle’s dress again IT WAS SO GORGEOUS it floated across the floor like a bundle of sunshine

and there were so many details in that scene? did anybody notice her gold earrings she wore they were wonderful

her hairstyles throughout the whole movie were so cute (esp at the end with that updo!! and that pretty flower dress I need it)

the historical accuracies??? unreal??

so much baroque architecture with all of the elaborate gold designs ahhh i love it

half of it looked like a rococo painting, the other half a neoclassicism painting

girls weren’t allowed to be educated so that’s why Belle was hated so much--and so cool--and ohhhh my mind is blown why did i not understand this until now

lol a giant chunk of France was illiterate at the time too so LeFou realizing that halfway through trying to spell Gaston was hilarious

actually the mob song in general is scarily accurate. what starts with a small discomfort turns into irrational fear which turns into extremism in crowds and they did the stupidest things like “hey there’s a monster that we’ve never seen or heard of and it’s never attacked us before but LETS KILL IT” seriously the French loved mobs

they included a lot more intimate moments w Belle and the Beast to build up their relationship more carefully

Belle almost in tears when she was in that library because honestly same girl

my favorite moment in the entire movie, although small, was when they were in the library during “Something There” and she just kept grabbing book after book and he was walking behind her holding this massive stack that was so cute

honorable mentions: when the Beast shook his head like the horse omg. and I freaking cackled when he threw that giant snowball at her face

when they were in Paris, and Belle figured out that her mother died of the plague and she said “let’s go home”

she just rode off while still wearing her ball dress

“no time to change gotta go save my pa i’m keeping this btw”

and then she strips down to her undergarments because they’re about to go after Adam and that’s the final straw nobody messes with him under her watch she has to save him and, sorry, but she won’t let a big bulky dress get in the way of that despite how beautiful it is

Belle participated in the climax fight scene she was not taking any of Gaston’s crap

and then Adam was like “stay there I’m coming” and she completely ignored him so she could step in if he needed her

the transformation scenes were amazing

LeFou’s character arc was surprisingly great! and I support him and his boyfriend

that one growl at the end... you know the one... I’m very confused why was that so sexy is that bad

there were so many moments where i got goosebumps and sudden tears from the swelling of the orchestra or a certain chilling line and i was just so moved by this movie

in every showing that i went to there was a massive applause from the crowd and i love it you deserve it disney

I'm running out of adjectives

There was hardly an aspect that I disliked. Maybe more of Mrs Potts would’ve been nice, maybe Belle asking Adam to grow a beard was a little strange, maybe Ewan could work on his French accent a little more (don’t get me wrong I love this man but it could use a little more work... other than that his acting was superb). my complaints stop there! I honestly loved this film so much and I’d been pumped since I first heard about it back in 2015. It didn’t disappoint! that means a lot coming from a person who had insanely high expectations for it.
