Hi! First of all, I want to say thank you for writing your posts! I really love them, and when I open tumblr and the first thing I see is one of your posts, it brings me joy!

Second of all , I would love to hear a comparison or your opinion about the difference between their three sex scenes until now and their similarities. I want to know how you think they both have changed and what aspects haven't.

Thank you so much! I actually made a post with images of a parallel from both sex scenes that stood out to me right away but of course it was flagged so I ended up just deleting it lol. In volume 5, I think we can all agree it was heavy and kind of questionable on Doumeki’s part. There was a lot of emotion involved and Yashiro was getting pushed in ways that he never had before. Ch 52 was just angry sex. Doumeki was very frustrated after catching Yashiro with Kido and Yashiro was expecting something similar to volume 5 and was sad when it turned out to be different. In this sex scene, Doumeki played with the boundaries between gentle and rough. He was trying to see where Yashiro was at and pushed only a little bit but once he saw Yashiro wasn’t all that ready, he backed off and did what Yashiro was more comfortable with. Honestly, it was the ideal way of handling things and maybe how it should have been in volume 5 since Yashiro did want to have sex but he wasn’t ready to accept it gently yet. Of course volume 5 had a bigger purpose so I don’t want to dwell on what Doumeki should have done. I think Yashiro was even more upset after this scene with his flashbacks to Doumeki and Izumi and him crying over Kage. It wasn’t all sad since there was a moment of being cheeky with each other but I got a sense of frustration from them both. Yashiro seemed frustrated with himself that he criticized Doumeki for being cruel but simultaneously wanting to run away from and wanting to experience Doumeki’s gentle touches. I think Doumeki is also getting frustrated with Yashiro and the mixed messages he is receiving and the back and forth. I don’t think that makes Doumeki a bad person. There is a reason why we shouldn’t have personal relationships with the people who are meant to help us process our trauma. I also don’t think it means Yashiro doesn’t deserve to be loved. I think they made a lot of physical progress but the emotional progress still needs a lot of work. A similarity I noticed throughout all 3 off the top of my head is the conflict both feel. I received an ask similar to this yesterday and I hope my answer answers both.

Since I already poked into the hornet’s nest a few times, I might as well get this out once and for all and be done with it: In my opinion, character antis and character stans are both two sides of the same coin. Both go into the extreme and more importantly, both lack nuance.

(I came from the MCU Tony Stark fandom into the Founders Tobirama fandom and it’s crazy how much they parallel each other. All fandoms have some similarities, but in this case, the antis, the stans, the tropes, the mischaracterization are so much the same, it’s freaking mind-blowing.)

The thing about the founders characters is that they’re just a footnote in the whole Naruto story—we don’t know enough and that means we have to interpret a lot of things. And naturally, interpretations vary. If you look at Tobirama and decide that he’s some bigot, then you can do that. (I’m not going into the whole racist debate about him, I have already stated my thoughts on that.) To me, though, this is such an incredibly boring interpretation. The fascinating part about the founders is that none of them are morally good characters due to the times they grew up in. Some might be darker grey than others but, in the end, they all have good sides and bad sides and that’s what makes them interesting to me. That’s what makes them 3-dimensional characters, rather than flat ones.

It’s absolutely wild to me that you would want to imagine any character as bigot at all, instead of trying to put yourself into the character’s shoes and try to see where they might come from. We don’t see any of his thoughts ever, we only have his words and what we do with them is up to us. Maybe he did put the Uchiha all in the police to close them off from the rest of the village in hopes it’ll be their demise, but isn’t that a bit boring? Isn’t that also a bit of a wild theory, considering there’s no assurance the Uchiha will perish once he’s gone? If anything, he would want to get rid of them while he’s still around and holds a leadership position. He says he did it to integrate them more into the village and give them a good purpose, and isn’t that more interesting? If he really, genuinely thought that and failed so massively? Doesn’t that make him a way more interesting character, a character with his own weaknesses? Sure, you can imagine the former but I fail to see how that’s more interesting than the latter. In the end, we don’t know what’s true anyway, we don’t know what’s going on in his head, we don’t know how he went from “grown-ups are stupid and just need to make a truce” to being so ready to kill the Uchiha and not believing in peace at first, so we might as well go with the 3-dimensional interpretation, no?

Similarly, people who put him on a pedestal, who believe he has done no wrong, who see him as the good dutiful brother, while Hashirama, in contrast, is in the wrong—how do you take a character who’s so multifaced, who shows intelligence and leader capabilities, who went from not believing in peace to wanting to protect it at any cost, but who’s also way too prejudiced of the Uchiha to the point he threatens a teen before he even knows what’s up, and make him flat? Tobirama is no saint. A man who can create the Edo Tensei and use it often enough that every other Kage immediately recognize it is not a morally correct person. I will not get into the debate if the Edo Tensei is morally bad or not, since killing people is equally fucked up and the point is thus moot because no shinobi is a saint. But the way he talks about the Uchiha is fucked up. Personally, I think it’s hilarious how he calls Sasuke a little shit and how he loses his temper. From an audience view, I love it. But from a character analysis view, it’s wrong. That’s a whole grown-ass man who was Hokage and before that the Hokage’s right-hand man and he wants to attack an Uchiha teen just like that before he even has all information.

If you think he could somehow have been a better Hokage than Hashirama, then you can do that but I fail to see how. I don’t think he’s some bigoted asshole with no good qualities, but he’s not faultless either. We don’t know what is going on in his mind at any time but we see he has good qualities and bad qualities alike, and you can just latch onto one of these qualities and pretend the other don’t exist but in my opinion, that’s how you create a flat character.

(On a different note: I know so many people are mad about the “curse of hatred” thing and I get it but it’s so weird to me that they hate Tobirama for this instead of Kishimoto. This isn’t presented to us as an opinion but as a fact. Kishi came up with all kinds of new things when it comes to the Uchiha and the curse of hatred just was his newest nonsense. Hate the message; not the messenger.)

And while I’m already on the topic of wanting to interpret characters as bigots: Izuna doesn’t have a character. Izuna isn’t even a character; he’s a plot device. People can imagine him however the fuck they want and there’s zero right or wrong. However, I fail to see why people would want to imagine him as a bigot. They heard him saying not to trust the Senju when Hashirama asked for peace and decided clearly, he must be a warmonger, a spoiled little bitch, an idiot etc. Absolutely wild to me. You literally have free reign, you could try to put yourself into his shoes and try to see why he thinks so, why he’s so mistrusting, how it must look from his point of view, and instead you decide to portray him in the worst way possible. I mean, you can do that and no one can tell you you’re wrong, but wow, this could never be me. Sorry, I prefer to imagine characters in a more multi-faceted way than have such a flat view of them.

Now, Hashirama is far more established as a character than Tobirama is but he is, like the other founders, still just a side character with so many unknown variables and a whole lot of freedom for interpretation. But, I think if you somehow think of him as a master manipulator, as someone who’s a bad leader, as an idiot… you can think that. There isn’t enough canon material to disprove that completely. However, if you think that, I think you missed some crucial parts about him. You missed his strive for peace since he was a child, you missed that the Uchiha willingly deserted over to the Senju when Hashirama was clan head and that the Senju were ready to make peace with the Uchiha under his rule, you missed that Hashirama was voted Hokage by a majority. None of this would make sense if he were a dumb, bad leader, now, would it?

Usually, Hashirama depicted as an idiot also goes hand-in-hand with the Tobirama stans who see him as a bad brother. I already talked about this, so I won’t go into detail, but Hashirama rightfully calling Tobirama out when he’s being a prejudiced shit toward the Uchiha doesn’t make him a bad brother. His threatening Tobirama when Tobirama is about to kill Madara doesn’t make him a bad brother either. It is wrong. He’s overly emotional over this and he’s being unfair in that moment but that alone doesn’t make him a bad brother, it just makes him a well-written character who has his own faults. Sometimes he’s too emotional, sometimes he’s too idealistic, and if you see that and decide it means he’s a shit brother and also an idiot, then you can interpret it that way but I couldn’t disagree with you more if I tried.

To me, he’s a good man, a charismatic man who’s trustworthy, who always strives for peace and the best in general, but also a product of his times, a son of his father, a man who goes his path straight ahead and doesn’t look left and right which then leads to fucked up situations such as almost killing himself in front of Tobirama, or also killing Madara in the end instead of trying to find a different way. It makes him interesting.

At the end of the day, my opinion is always, if you have to push other characters down (Hashirama as an idiot; Izuna as a bigot; Madara as a madman), so you can pull up your fave (Tobirama as the only right one, the better leader, the better brother), then the problem is you. It just shows me that you don’t know how to prop your fave on his own and who he simply is when you can’t do it without making others look bad. Sorry not sorry.

(This really happens in so many fandoms—you have a character who’s shown as the good one but then you get to see his bad sides and people latch so much onto that that they then portray him as the devil incarnate. Vice versa, you’re given an asshole character who’s shown to have his good sides and fandom somehow manages to twist it so much that suddenly this character is the real saint. It’s maddening.)

Lastly, Madara is just like the other characters a complicated character with his good and bad sides. I think it’s crazy how some people only see a madman and a terrorist in him, and how others find he was right with everything. Again, you can interpret is such, but… no. He’s a deeply traumatized and grieving man, who believes in peace and wished it badly but saw that it would never be achieved because humans will always fight each other no matter what, and then makes a decision that is nuts. The Infinite Tsukuyomi is utter bullshit even without Zetsu and Kaguya, but he is right in pointing out that there will be no real peace. The problem is just that there’s no perfect answer for that—the answer is democracy, therapy and transparency of the higher-ups, which is a boring solution for the world Kishimoto created because in a world where cool fights go brrrr and friendship is magic a political answer like that is not going to cut it. Which is why he had to come up with a bigger threat and make Madara look insane, even though the points he made were right, only his methods wrong.

My general opinion is, when you have characters that are so little established, that leave so much room for interpretation, I don’t see why anyone would want to interpret them in such a flat manner. I like my characters 3-dimensional, I like to take the good and the bad in stride, and you can do you, that’s fair enough. But if you come to me to put Tobirama in the good light and Hashirama in the bad one, or in converse, to tell me what a bigot Tobirama is, then you’re at the wrong address here, and that’s on that.

Yani- I don't think I really need to go into this, look at literally any Yani post LMAOOOOOO! This is what makes Yani higher up then Jun though, Yani has ALWAYS been clingy, even in the beginning of your relationship.

Jun- I also don't think I need to go into this, once again look at any other Jun post. Yani and Jun will always be fighting for your number one spot. Although Jun isn't physically clingy in the beginning because she isn't sure you're comfortable with that, once you two get closer she'll be EXTREMELY clingy

Haruto- He literally can't go a day without seeing you. He is in every route being one of the clingiest childhood friends, and he gets away with it for that reason. Sometimes he's clingy just to piss suitors off. He makes all of the li's jealous in every route LMAO

Kei- When you two meet again he basically doesn't leave your side once. He's not exactly touching you but he walks so close to you and just follows you wherever you go.

Aki- Literally the casual clingy person you'll ever meet. She just always hangs around you and touches you but it's never overwhelming. Much like Haruto, Aki uses her long time of knowing you to be really clingy.

Hoshi- Likes to pretend he's not clingy at all but everyone knows. It's a lot more obvious in his route and even not in his route like YOU are the person he pranks the most so surely you're on his mind often and pranks are just the Hoshi's way of talking to you and being clingy without being super touchy.

Minato- He's not super touchy, just in general, but I think he's somewhat clingy when it comes to seeing you, like he checks up on you so often and watches you and how you live, but he's not physically clingy

Habiki- He just doesn't care. He cares about you and he really REALLY loves you but he's just not a clingy person. He really like's when you're clingy though <3

Kage- Would be so much higher if he didn't pass out at every touch. He would be third if he didn't pass out every time but because he literally cannot touch you without getting overwhelmed and passing out he doesn't get to be clingy.

All right, idk if it's been asked before, but let's say you were one day, magically put in charge of a sand sibs spin-off series about them, what issues and things would you like to see explored about their characters? I think it'd be a great chance to show Gaara's actual development that happened completely offscreen in canon, and give more spotlight to Temari. Like, people can make fun that Kankuro is the "worst written sib" all they want, it's actually Temari. At least, with Kank, Kishimoto tried giving him some semblance of a mini arc with inheriting Sasori's will and stuff. Not the best executed idea, but at least he tried with Kank, what was Temari's purpose even? Unite the nations through being Shikas gf? How does her crush achieve that exactly? So yeah, show Gaara's development, give Temari smth to do outside of Shika, and expand more on Kanks relationships/bond/admiration for Sasori and Chiyo and puppetry in general, so Sasori stans can stop hating on him so much. And ofc, show us Tems and Kanks bond with their dad. Bby Tem and bby Kank would be super cute to see. But what would you like to see in a sand sibs spin off? Anything special you'd like to add or see that was never mentioned, explained or expanded upon in the series?

~Gaara's development would be a top priority for me. When he joins the regular troops, Kankuro warns him that a lot of the regular jonin hate him. We also see that a lot of his council actively hate him. I want to see how he went from that to the beloved leader he is as an adult. I also want to see him interacting with the other Kage outside of a Summit setting.

~Temari, I'd like to see more of her as the ambassador to the Leaf and her as a sensei, since she was teaching at the Academy along with her brothers. Also, her Tsukuyomi dream involved her being a wise leader and her brothers coming to her for advice. Maybe have her getting to lead Suna for a bit when Gaara became ill.

~Kankuro, definitely more explorations of the puppet corps in general, and his development of the next generation. I want to see him struggling with the burden Sasori and Chiyo left him with. I also want to see him becoming the leader of the anti-terrorism dvision. Also after hours Kankuro - he's clearly comfortable around alcohol during Gaara's novel. I wanna see nightlife!Kank.

~For all three, I want to see the change in their bond over time. Of course, Temari and Kankuro were ready to forgive Gaara in OG Naruto, but it's easy to say that. I want to see how they put it into practice, what slip ups they made. I also really want to see what happened between them post-Kazekage Rescue Arc, them comforting each other when they realize just how lucky they are that all three of them are still alive.

~I want more of Suna in general. How do the ordinary citizens go about their day to day lives? How does their culture change when going from Rasa to Gaara? What are their delicacies, their taboos? And why the hell is the position of Kazekage hereditary? Give me more!

“Y/n,” Tobirama calls me and approaches the place where I am.  

Just hearing his voice gives me goosebumps. Tobirama scares me but makes me curious at the same time. His reserved and serious manner is interesting.  

I look at him. “Hmm?”  

Everytime I look at him, I feel obligated to admire him. Every part of him. His harmonious face, the red marks, his hair... He is odd and frightening, but very beautiful.  

“I created a jutsu and I want to show it to you.”  

Whenever he creates a new jutsu, he shows me, including Edo Tensei. It was a little strange.  

“Show me then,” I smiled.  

Tobirama disappeared in smoke and immediately afterwards, comes out from behind a tree.  

“But...”  

“This is the jutsu. It’s a clone, Kage Bunshin.”  

“Cool,” I squeal excitedly.  

“Did you really like it?”  

“Yes, it was awesome.”  

Tobirama makes another clone. They both sit next to me and look at me. Normally, I freak out with one Tobirama. With two, it feels like my heart is going to explode.  

“T-tobirama...” I alternate my gaze between the two.

“Your reserved way of acting, I mean... you and Hashirama are so different despite being brothers,” I run my thumb across his lip.

good day Bella! Hope your day is going well. Do you have pet peeves in the naruto fandom? Small ones that appear harmless but just irritate the heck out of you. For me it’s when people pretend naruto and sakura are besties. I can’t stand that false shit. 9/10 times people do this for her and it’s never about naruto. You can tell cause no way you thought the woman who came up to him to lie about loving him and implied that he doesn’t care about his ACTUAL best friend’s life is his bestie/found sister. Don’t get me started on all the other shitty behavior she has towards him but the bullshit from kage arc takes the cake for me. The reason why it bothers me so much is not only because it’s all fake but because it sends the wrong message to people. Makes you doubt what you saw and just gaslights you about their (nonexistent) relationship. I wonder if they ever noticed that naruto never considered her his family. If they did they most likely ignored it lol but the last 10 chapters of gaiden shows/heavily implies that they don’t have a relationship let alone a family one. I know it’s not something that’s super big deal but false relationships irritate me. People do this with taka too and then you get large group of people arguing with you and insulting about their nonexistent “deep” bonds. What’s your pet peeves if you don’t mind sharing?

hello anon, i know i’m late replying but my day was fine when you sent me this and my day is fine now thanks. well… i have so many pet peeves in the naruto fandom. honestly so many things piss me off ngl, no wonder a fandom can be you and your trusted mutuals <3 cause damn this is the only social media i tolerate to look at the naruto fandom and it’s not like i don’t have a lot of blocked blogs and filtered content in here lol i agree with your pet peeve, it’s one of mine as well, anything about sakura irritates me because people change her entire character just to make her more palatable, people that say shikamaru or whatever is naruto’s best friend, people that say team taka are sasuke true friends and have a deep bond with him, people that quote those idiotic novels, typical sasunaru stans, inosaku shippers that compare them to narusasu, “kishimoto was so stupid he didn’t know what he was doing” people, and that also comes with the classical “kishimoto is so misogynistic that he wrote a gay love story on accident”, “everybody in the naruto manga is gay” people, “team 7 is found family” people, “hinata would be better in team 7 and she would bond with sasuke because they are similar” people… what else? lol. it all seems “harmless” but it’s a level of inaccuracy that it’s annoying and edges stupidity to me, well and some of these are just homophobic actually, so not harmless.

Do you have tips on how to write Gaara fics for people who know nothing about how politics work?

The wholesome answer is to just write your story, anon! Throw caution to the wind and just let the fic fly. Naruto is a fictional universe and therefore there are no laws, just a void in which fans can fill with theories and head canons!

But if you didn't want to fret about making things up on the fly, here are some tips:

Tip 1: Research

The boring answer is to invest in research and go down some very deep rabbit holes. Personally, when I'm writing fics that center Gaara doing Kage related work, I like to splice together present day politics along with some stuff that was common during the Meiji period (as well as some other eras), since the Naruto universe is a mash up of historical and modern day Japan. You could also pull from current events that are happening in your area...No better inspiration for writing than real life!

Tip 2: Keep explanations broad

Another tip I would suggest, if you really don't want to chase the rabbit of historical Japan and politics, it to simply just be as broad as humanly possible in your explanation, but that depends on the fic you're trying to write. If you want to try world building and offering head canons through writing as a way to explain how things work in Suna, then I'm afraid you will have to do some research - or at least be really good at making up plausible sounding explanations. If you're just trying to use political conflicts as a vessel to get the story rolling, then I would just dance around getting too in depth about any given detail.

Tip 3: Personal conflicts are easier to write than political ones

Try centering personal conflicts under the disguise of "politics." I do this a lot simply because it's much less taxing on me, but it does impact the layer of world building that a fic can offer.

Here's an example, let's say surrounding the price of iron:

It's much harder to write a story about how the price of iron went up because the minors in a fan fictional village went on strike (you would have to answer: "why?"), which then made The Land of Wind source their iron from The Land of Fire instead, but now there's a delay at the boarder because The Land of Wind is refusing to pay tariffs which have become astronomically high due to The Land of Fire having a surplus in minerals being shipped to other countries and thus making their resources more valuable. This affects Gaara's job because he's having a difficult time stocking the Suna Armory with weapons, thus impacting the amount of shinobi he can outsource for missions, as well as national defense.

This is a plausible and heavily political explanation that had many layers and explores many aspects of the world, but it's also sooo...idk...Political.

Instead, it's much easier to write a story about how the The of Wind Daimyo hiked up the price of iron because he personally invested in a new mining company, and he would like to make as much money as possible. Then you could explain how this affects Gaara's job in the very same way as the previous example.

One gives you a better idea of the world stage, while the other speaks to character motives.

Micro tip: Actual politics move at a snails pace, and the more complex the issue, the longer the process is. You can use this to your advantage (especially if you're writing a series) by researching and building up one complex political issue and having that follow you through out the fic. It's much easier to get the ball rolling and to build off something that already has the groundwork prepared, and it would be realistic for one big issue to not be swept away and resolved by Gaara simply signing a paper. It could actually be a secondary plot utilizing the "man vs society" external conflict that happens in the background in contrast to the conflicts you place in the forefront as the main action of the story.

Not only sakura " (u know they defeat their ship like this) and I don't know but if someone (ss shippers) tell you something like that: he wants to kill everyone, he is not in his right mind, sakura was the last person he doesn't want to hurt her, killing sakura was dramatic for sasuke and ect...) ) what will you say to them? Anyway, how tiring must it be for such people to have to come up with such excuses? Why do they need other people to believe in them too? Nothing in the story proves whatever contradictions they're preaching. And yet. 

I would say nothing to them tbh because it is impossible to get through their thick skulls. Arguing is futile. They're thinking in delusional ways to protect a SS-Headcanon or Sakura in particular.

It seems they love to "forget" why this conflict even happened in the first place. The most infuriating thing about it is that a large portion truly hates Sasuke. One of the biggest excuses is always "well his character is just complex" which is true, but not an excuse for them to use as a Joker-card. Someone doesn't understand their SS-Headcanon? Well Sasuke's just complex they say and you don't understand it apparently. They say they're a fan but if they need to downplay his character for the sake of Sakura? No hesitation. 

And SS is for the sake of Sakura. You can't tell me otherwise. 

Yes, Sasuke almost killed Sakura during the Kage Arc if it weren't for Kakashi saving her ass. And then Naruto. But, this was a response to her coming to backstab him. Both figuratively as a supposed teammate/comrade, and literally with a poisoned kunai. Which may be one of the dumbest moves from someone who is objectively one of the smarter characters. Something Sasuke himself complimented her on when they were kids. Do you think this was accidental on Kishimoto's part? Of course not. Was Sasuke not allowed to defend himself? Why is this always left out of the conversation though? Sasuke easily sees right through her. Was he supposed to stand there, arms open wide and say "okay, I know you're lying to me, make everything about yourself again but come and kill me as you please"? She didn't even care to listen or understand the guy she supposedly loves so much. She can't have him? She can't understand his motives? It hurts her to see his actions unfold and it has nothing to do with her? Fine then die I guess. Because "bearing the burden" of killing him.. as she took upon herself which no one told her to btw, is still self-inserting herself onto him in a last-ditch effort. And superficial as hell. Naruto fought tooth and nail to understand Sasuke unlike her. Never mind all her teachers and friends she manipulated and put in danger while doing so. Why else would she also put herself in danger AGAIN for the second time when Kakashi pleaded.. well, ordered her not to. When he told her to stay back? When she absolutely knew she stood no chance? How many times do they have to tell her she's irrelevant to him? 

Because why was she so desperate? Why are their fans? 

Sasuke never cared to kill Sakura before that and didn't care for her life after. That much was clear as we saw during the War Arc. He thanked her for loving him which is seen as a rejection for mutual love btw and left her on a bench. Because yes, that's human decency. It's true that Sasuke saw her as a comrade when they were Genin but that's it. 

Sasuke needed to kill Naruto. Not Sakura. And the only reason he needed to do so was so he could be alone and away from that love. This is stated time and time again. Meaning: no one else. Even characters like Orochimaru and Kabuto who are great observers realized this early on. Important here being that Kishimoto chose to show this to us readers. 

But despite the killing part and negativity. Sasuke sacrificed his life for Naruto and his dreams as if it was natural. Sasuke didn't hesitate to stand up against Sakura for Naruto. He smirks and is playful with him yet cries after the confession in the end. He freely shows emotion around Naruto. "It's okay to cry when you're happy."

So what the hell are those shippers talking about? "..it was dramatic for Sasuke" they're pulling those statements out of their asses tbh.

Long-winded excuses, downplaying Naruto and Sasuke's characters and their bond, "it's not bad because (x) is worse!", "you wouldn't understand my ship because you're dumb and not because I don't show any evidence", "you don't get the characters even though it's my headcanon", etc etc-

Trace: Pleeeaaase, if they can even keep up with me it'll be a surprise! I've got this in the bag on speed and endurance alone!

Kaleb: I believe I will be quite alright. My venom offerss a large advantage, and the other participantss sseem to lack the intelligence needed to make full usse of the environment...

District 4

Devon: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, Get the FUCK outta my face 'fore I shove that mic where the sun don't shine, I got folks t'kill, you ain't boutta slow me down!

Cyrus: I'll be more impressed if anyone here actually manages to kill me than I would be to win.

Luka: Ehh...Why are we doing this again? I do not like to fight...

Olivia: I hope they know I'm not going to compete with my husband...

Moss: If you think the Seltz pack is going to turn on each other over this, you're wrong.

I really like Nurarihyon no Mago. Tsurara reminds me of my favorite character from my favorite book series, so more or less seeing her animated and drawn brings me joy. However! Something I really, really, really, hate about her is how she was raised by her mother to groom Rikuo. So while I have mixed feelings about them changing his main love interest to the human girl in the anime as she's so boring compared to Tsurara... Am I kind of glad too? It's a really weird feeling... Tsurara is so cool (literally) when not fawning over Rikuo it's ridiculous!

I feel the exactly the same as you. When I was younger I loved the hell out of Tsurara (and still kinda do tbh cause she's actually a cool yokai character, disregarding that background detail).

I was pissed off when they decided to make it/reveal that she's actually way older than she looks and whatnot because I just don't like Kana Iega (the regular human girl of the 3 potential interests). Like nothing in the story that I remember made feel like giving a sh¡t about her. She's just like extremely plain? She's no Kagome Higurashi I tell you what.

So, while they sorta rushed the ending due to losing readers back then bummed me out (I think because people were disappointed in how the anime was adapted). I did appreciate the author leaving it open ended.

Specifically, who was gonna get him with part. They left it up to interpretation. Unless, they change that in Nurarihyon no Mago: Kage. Which will be a limited series that is gonna show including some things they weren't in the original series.

While Tsurara was like the closest to "canon" because the moments they shared including a kiss, i think? It's been awhile sorry. I'm going to reread soon.

But if we get more content later... If he has to have a waifu— I just hope it's not Kana. Especially, when you got a badass like Yura Keikain (the onmyouji Miko girl) who was the other love interest of his. He made that girl get "Tsun-Tsun" over him like they say in Japan hehe. And their interactions were great.

The Mine vn beach episode experience?!?!

Minato: Minato loves the water. Sushi dates and water dates have got to be his favorite spots for dates. He'll compliment your swimwear. Minato is pretty big on his personal health and he'd like it if you cared for your health a little, or at least let him take care of you, so sunscreen and after sun care is a must! Minato will go for a swim and hopes you join him!

Haruto: Has been to the beach so many times with you, you two have a list of things you must do every time you go. Build sandcastles, go swimming, bury each other and leave only the head poking out, turn each other into sand mermaids, and go shopping at any shops nearby.

Jun: Jun and you go swimsuit shopping together and pick out the most perfect swimsuits for each other. Jun doesn't actually like going into the water cause she's scared of the ocean and every time she has managed to go in it burns her eyes and nose and the water tastes AWFUL. But if you wanted to go to a pool instead Jun wouldn't mind going in the water. Anyways beach dates involve lots and lots of sand and seashell collecting and shopping at any shops nearby.

Hoshi: WATER GUN FIGHTS 10000000%! He'll shoot you with his water gun and splash you with water whenever he can. He knows how to surf a little so he can teach you if you don't know, you could also teach him how to get better at it.

Habiki: He HATES the water, he can't swim. He wouldn't mind learning how to but the beach probably isn't the best place. Still, he enjoys watching you have fun and there's still things he can do without getting in the water.

Kage: Doesn't really want to cause he hates going out but anything for you :3 Def the guy that wears a hoodie at the beach. Won't go into the water cause that means he has to take off the hoodie but he watches you with a smile and cheers you on with whatever you're doing. Takes it up a notch when playing on the sand or shopping, he feels bad you didn't go in the water with you. GETS BURNT REALLY BADLY

Kei: Really loves aquatic life so is excited to go even if he knows he won't see a lot. He'll go deep into the water by accident. He'll apologize for getting carried away and then he'll give all his attention to you. You two walk around the shore and collect anything cool or point out anything interesting. If there are shops nearby he'll buy you whatever you want.

Yani: Gets matching swimsuits with you, even if you wear a bikini or something! Wants to rent out the entire beach that way no one else can see you that exposed but it's okay, he'll just beat up anyone who tries something with you! Yani almost drowns 5 times because they aren't the best swimmer and the waves kept carrying them out but it does not care. He'll follow you around anywhere, she doesn't leave your side once.

Aki: Def goes swimsuit shopping with you. She's wanted to go to the beach with you since forever! It was always one of those fun places she wanted to go to ALONE with you, and now you two are going as a DATE??? It just gets better! If you wanna stay and tan she'll try to persuade you to go out to the water but won't push it much, as long as you watch her <3 She'll teach you how to surf if you want and you guys can have sand castle building competitions!
