Sometimes I remeber working at the hardware store and the terrible training videos, including such memorable lines as: "it takes two to say no" and "the answer is always yes".

friendly reminder that bi people don't owe you anything. bi women that have a 99% preference for men are bi, not straight. bi women that have a 99% preference for women are bi, not lesbian. bi women that choose to only date women (for safety, comfort, etc.) are bi and do not want to be lesbians. heteroromantic bisexuals and biromantic heterosexuals are whatever they tell you they are, you don't get to decide their identity. bi men with a 99% preference for women are bi, not straight. bi men with a 99% preference for men are bi, not gay. bi people that align more with pansexuality but say that they're bi are bi. asking someone that's talking about what you view as the opposite gender to "name someone of (what you view as) the same gender that you think is hot" is biphobic. asking someone if they're sure they're "not just heteroflexible" is biphobic. nonbinary bi people don't need to explain their sexuality or gender to you; "but how can they be straight and gay if they're nonbinary?!?!" 1. gender is so fucked, i personally believe nobody's gender is the exact same we all experience gender differently, 2. bisexual isn't half straight and half gay, it's all bi
brought to you by a genderqueer bisexual who's fucking tired. if you're monosexual (yes that goes for straight people, gay men, and lesbians, although most queer people have an easier time understanding it than straight people do and perpetuate biphobia in different ways) and you view bisexuality as half anything, you're wrong. we're not attracted to anyone in a straight or gay way, we're attracted to all people in a bi way. hope that helps

anyways since i had the misfortune of accidentally reading his name again today, i'd like to remind everyone that this fucking weirdo (sylvain charlebois) exists and he thinks that women are ruining meat for everyone and that meat—yes the entire food group of meat—is for men only and eating meat is somehow a gendered activity ????

See I don't really believe there are any broader like. Schema of gender in Homestuck in that makes sense. Including Callie's OG gendering of classes but most others don't have a solid "reason" to them. Breath players tend to lean towards transfeminine to me but that doesn't feel like it's because of Breath and so on and so forth.
Basically the only two principles of gender determination in Homestuck I actually abide by are:
Trans characters can be partially determined in certain cases by examine their relationships to other close characters, forming something like a binary (or more) system. Transmasculine Dirk v. Transfeminine Roxy, Femme Transfeminine Gay Jake English v. Butch Transmasc Lesbian Jane Crocker, my Davepeta+ Gender Chart etc. Characters in Homestuck often model themselves in relation to their friends as we do irl.
Space is nigh-exclusively a transfeminine aspect in Homestuck itself. The job of a Space player is to seize and create their own means of creation and species-level reproduction, usually after being deprived of traditional means of womanhood, motherhood, and reproduction.

Two things that are simultaneously true:
1. Gender and sexuality are complex and can be fluid. An identity isn't always fixed and can change with time for many reasons
2. It is not acceptable to force others to change their gender or sexuality and the mantra that they (queer people) can change if they only "try hard" is both cruel and homophobia and/or transphobia
#queer#lgbt#lgbtq#homophobia#homophobia tw#transphobia#transphobia tw#when i first came out as trans i was told this story about how my dad's therapist had a lesbian client with homophobic parents...#...how her parents were *so close* to coming to terms with her lesbianism and she got a boyfriend and look! she changed so why couldn't you!#the thing that was so fucked up about that story was that it was presented as 'oh you don't know who you are! you'll change!'#and i was never listened to until i went 'so far' in my transness that changing was impractical...#...it never enforced that my sense of self is dynamic but that who i was is something to be 'fixed'#i think a lot of queer people are hostile to the idea of gender/sexuality fluidity because it's framed in such a way...#...that tells them that their queerness will eventually be 'cured'...#...so any notion of 'identity can be fluid' reads like 'your queerness is a flaw and a horrible thing'...#...but that's not the solution to people whose identity has fluctuated and changed...#...it isn't their fault that queerphobes latched onto them as 'case studies' to prove that queerness is curable...#...a queerphobe would latch onto ANYTHING in order to prevent you from living...#...'oh lesbians married men in order to protect themselves? why can't you do that?! why must you insist on marrying a woman?!'...#...that's an example of how they'd just latch onto something else if 'identity is dynamic' didn't exist#the context of 'identity is dynamic' is often one of the most important factors in if it is meant as queer-afirming or not ime

I love being an out of the closet bisexual in a conservative (with mostly Christian) students, because sometimes you'll have people who are rude and gross (which isn't fun) and then other times you'll have people who aren't out the closet know that they at least have someone else on their side, or people that don't even realize that they aren't straight or cis, and they'll start learning and figuring themselves out and you get to watch that journey and support them through it. Other times you'll have someone who comes from a homophobic family, and are so excited to be able to talk to someone that's LGBTQ+ so they can ask questions and learn about us, and I honestly think that's really sweet <3<3

something about finding the people who sit through your info dumps with joy on their face and enthusiasm for your passions. something about finding the people who info dump right back at you because they know you love hearing about their passions. something about finding the people who manage to sum up your being in one niche, oddly specific sentence that lives in your mind rent free for the rest of time. something about finding the people who not only accept you for who you are but embrace you for who you are. who not only tolerate your quirks and differences but love and cherish them.

Hi what does the achillean in your profile mean ? Did your mother dip you in a river with questionable pollution control? Does your sulking throw a wrench in the war plans of the Greek alliance? Will future historians describe you and your partner as just friends? Do you hate sandals? What is it?
I’m just like achilles fr (looooves guys so much. and guy adjacent beings) except without the invulnerability. I’m pretty much vulnerable to every material on earth. for example if you hit me with a metal pipe I’d probably get hurt

Queerness in Indian Media
↳Film: MAJA MA (2022, Hindi) dir. ANAND TIWARI
Maja Ma follows Pallavi Patel (Madhuri Dixit), a closeted lesbian who gave up her beloved, Kanchan (Simone Singh), decades ago and has since become a devoted mother, housewife, and adored member of her community. While making preparations for her son's (Ritwik Bhowmik) wedding, however, Pallavi is outed to the entire town--and subsequently must deal with the consequences to herself, her former beloved, and her family.
Madhuri Dixit discusses her role in this movie, how movies like this are more possible now because of OTT streaming, and the "unexpected reactions" to the story here.
Madhuri Dixit discusses this movie coming from "a place of love", wanting the LGBTQ community to "feel seen", and "accepting people for who they are" here.
The actress Madhuri Dixit has been in multiple gay and gay-coded media, both as a supportive character and as the gay character herself. She has also been supportive in real life of the LGBTQ community.

One thing I find weird about visibly transitioning is realizing that while you as a human haven't changed in regards to personality or what have you, people's perception of you has, and sometimes that means you'll be treated differently.
I've noticed that as I become more "visibly" male to people, they are much more willing to say that I am "aggressive". Oftentimes, I'm not even doing anything out of the ordinary, I'm acting like I always have, and to be honest, people don't say how I'm being aggressive. It's really jarring because I haven't changed - my personality is the same. But I think what has changed is the fact that I am read as male doing the things I always have, so I'm treated with that lack of nuance.
I bring this up because it's an aspect of transition that can be very difficult, and even dangerous. I wonder, if I'm being seen this way, how are other trans people being seen? These things are important to consider because it can compromise our safety

Real queerbaiting almost always has to do with an individual character’s identity rather than any romantic pairings but y’all aren’t ready to have that conversation.
#‘this show is such queerbait!’ *proceeds to talk about how two dudes didn’t kiss each other*#more often than not it’s 2 dudes the creators have said multiple times do not have romantic feelings for eachother#yet the fans always outright ignore that and act like they’ve been tricked & deceived#when like… no.. they straight up told you this gay ship wasn’t happening#& you just refused to believe them lmao#now if you wanna say ‘this was a missed opportunity to have a queer ship in this show’ then 90% of the time I’ll agree w you!#but there’s a massive difference between#‘I think this would’ve been a good chance to have a queer pairing & im bummed they didn’t take it’#and#‘I was intentionally queerbaited & these writers hate gay people’#and most of you guys are just. Unable to understand that#for example:#lokius not being canon was not qb#them butchering Loki’s genderfluidity & not acknowledging his bisexuality after specifically using it in their advertising?#that absolutely was.#destiel wasn’t qb#a missed opportunity to explore angels’ gender & sexuality? yes 100%.#johnlock wasn’t qb.#a missed opportunity to explore Sherlock’s sexuality? Definitely#yall get on my nerves screaming queerbait & crucifying creators as homophobes#just because your shitty no-chemistry-having toxic ass mlm ships didn’t go canon#after you delulu-ed & conspiracy theory-ed yourselves into thinking they would 😒#queerbaiting#fandom wank#anti destiel#anti johnlock#Loki#homophobia in fandom#johnlock#destiel

i do think its weird to make egg jokes about people you dont know. i thought the whole thing was to Not assume someones gender current or otherwise?? nd like. you dont know if theyre closeted or questioning or presenting differently or just didnt want to tell you. and they dont owe you that info. if youre really just trying to provide resources or a possibility that someone might be trans ok fine but laughing about it behind someone you dont knows back making jokes isnt... that. ok
