I have a thought and I’d like to share (if you don’t mind) - Bakugo with a pro hero partner. Like I feel as though all I ever see is civilian!reader or assistant!reader and that’s great, but I need me a girl boss who kicks ass and Bakugo’s head over heels, like I imagine this person to be so adored and loved as well - like the ideal “celebrity” so kind and sweet, well-spoken, but Villains hear her name they go runnin’ - everyone’s low-key got crushes on her, Katsuki’s wondering what the hell he did to rizz her up and because they’re both public figures, in spite of how naturally private he is, I think he’d feel more comfortable off-handedly making comments about her every now and then, showing up to events together.

i think bakugou could have such a flourishing relationship with another pro hero.

like, i really do. i think that it's hard for him to meet people outside of work LOL so meeting/working with another pro hero is, i think, a very natural way to come together. i also think that bakugou would really appreciate reader's hard work ! their passion ! their motivation ! i think that would genuinely be such a draw for him ??? i absolutely think a pro hero relationship would really work out for him, and i have one pro hero reader wip and the dynamic between them is my favorite i think i've ever written, bc they just fit so well.

but i will say that this is not typically a reader i picture for him ?? as my go-to ?? it's always assistant reader aikhfaha LMAO and. i really don't think i have a good explanation why, but. something like—i like to imagine bakugou having a break from it all, and i just don't think he'd get that with a pro hero partner ??

idk !! like, if one of you isn't on patrol, the other probably is, like 90% of the time, and i imagine it's hard to get just free time to be together, bc you both would probably be so busy !! and if you were working together at the same agency or partnering up at random points, i feel like it would be so hard to come home from work and not. bring it with you 🥺 as a pro hero i feel like that's impossible, and were the two of you both bearing the weight of that responsibility, i feel like it would be hard to have a relationship outside of that ?? if that makes sense ?? and i also personally believe that bakugou has had too much pro hero at the young age of SEVENTEEN, so i like to imagine a life for him where he can put it all away, even for a little bit 🥺

you could definitely argue that having an assistant reader would be similar, bc you would still be involved in the hero world, but. idk. i think being there on the sidelines and being in it are different, and i like to imagine bakugou coming home from a long shift and getting to hear about what you did at your regular job or what you did in the garden, where you went shopping, etc 🥺 just. give him some normalcy 🥺

but that's just my personal preference !! though i definitely enjoy the pro hero reader angle !! please katsuki wondering what the hell he did to rizz you up LMAOOO tbh, i think if we ever were fed some kind of love story for bakugou in canon, they would give him a badass pro hero partner, bc i really think he would have a lot of respect for someone that can handle it, not to mention does it well. like. i think he definitely has the loserboy hots for them LOL

Oh anon, you're a darling! This was so nice to wake up to <3 I actually haven't worked much on that AU since originally posting it, but you're right, there is so much angst potential in this AU between Wik and Kim. One of the inspirations from it actually came from World of Warcraft, and how the character Varian was split into two people, the other one being Lo'Gosh. I really loved how it wasn't just "this is the good side vs. the bad/feral side." Varian was polite and charming and good at socializing, but he was also vain and easy to manipulate (which was the point of splitting him), whereas Lo'Gosh was definitely a barbarian, but he was also all of Varian's strong will and ambition/motivation, and passion. I hadn't seen that kind of character splitting before, because it's usually an easy shorthand for doing a good/evil thing.

So for the purposes of this fic, Kim isn't just all the evil mafia while Wik is the sweetheart singer. Wik is very driven and tbh a little selfish, he's kind to his fans but ultimately very cold, because he grew up in a world where anything he cared about could be used against him. Both of them are still calculating in clever, but it's Wik that begins investigating Chay, intentionally using his stardom as an in, and purposefully manipulating him to get more information. He takes it to a stronger degree than we actually see from Kim in the show.

Whereas Kim is the quieter, more contained side. They both love music but Kim prefers guitar/piano over singing because he doesn't want to draw attention to himself the way Wik does, although he does write a lot of poetry/lyrics. One of the betrayals from Wik leaving is that he stole Kim's songs. The other is that he left Kim behind. He loves his brother more than anything, and Wik leaving him without so much as a goodbye was devastating for him.

Here's your slightly less than 500 words!

“You left me!” “Would you have even come with me?” Kim’s voice breaks on a desperate, “Yes!” He wants to take it back as soon as the word leaves his mouth, too honest in the heat of his moment, chest heaving with the weight of it. The only good thing about the admission is that his brother is too stunned to reply; Kim takes satisfaction in that, in the implication of it, as Wik realizes the depth of his own selfishness.  “Kim…” “I would…” Kim swallows. Days of captivity have left his throat dry. It hurts, speaking these words aloud, tearing them out of his chest to release them after all these years. “I would have. If you asked me to, I would have.”  He would have followed his brother anywhere. They were always meant to be together. Kim and Wik, two halves of the same whole, mirror images down to their names. Until Wik decided he couldn’t bear his own reflection anymore.  “Kim, I’m sorry, I didn’t know—” “How could you? You only ever think about yourself.” Kim laughs. It’s wet. It hurts, like everything else about this damned conversation. Maybe Wik was right; they were better off alone. “I thought you knew me better than anyone, but you don’t know me at all.” Maybe Wik never did. What a horrible time to realize how truly alone he really is.  Wik doesn’t speak for a long time. Neither does Kim, keeping his head bowed and his breaths measured, cracked ribs aching with every rise and fall of his chest. What a cruel joke that the first time they’re sharing a space in years, something Kim has longed for since the day Wik left, and it’s only because someone else has forced them together.  “I don’t think you would ever leave the family,” Wik eventually says, his voice quieter than Kim has ever heard it. “You’re not like me, Kim, you never wanted to leave.” Of course he didn’t. Why would Kim ever want to leave his brothers? But at least if he had, Kinn and Tankhun would have had each other. They wouldn’t have been alone, not like Wik is now. Not like Kim is, forever missing his other half. Neither of them were meant to be alone. "It doesn't matter anymore." "Yes it does. Kim. I never meant to hurt you. I—" But there's no more time to talk because their captors are walking in, and Wik is throwing himself in front of Kim, both of them bound and unable to put of any kind of fight. Not that it would have mattered; Wik already got himself kidnapped. Too nosy to stay out of the family completely, but apparently the idealistic fool didn't bother to keep up with his martial arts. Still. Despite blaming him for the current predicament, Kim is a little bit touched that Wik is trying to protect him now. Too late to matter, maybe, but it's something.

This is just a looong thought on skating and technique...I am sure not everyone will agree with me but does that matter to me? We can agree to disagree bc neither you nor me are judges or the ISU 🤷

No matter what you think about Shoma's jumps especially the "beloved" 4F some ppl get so worked up about today again for the 544373th time in Shoma's career but truly besides skating fans who love the technical side of it and ppl who need something to complain about anyway imo most fans and casual watchers don't really care about technique. And why is that? Because most ppl can't tell jumps apart anyway, because most ppl are not interested in whether it's "perfect" technique or not, and as for Shoma because Shoma had a brilliant clean skate, because Shoma is drawing ppl in with his performance and not with his jumps and bc Shoma definetly deserved 1st place with a margin today. So really what's all the fuss about?

Some haters make it sound like Shoma getting high scores with his skate is the end of skating. I never in my entire fandom experience saw anyone say "oh Shoma or many other skaters with similar problem does not have perfect technique I am torn away by the sport because of it"...ppl come for the pretty, for the performance to the music, and yes jumps are cool and all but this is not what makes ppl stay in the fandom or get attached to skaters! Am I wrong?

Shoma is right when he said that the emphasis nowadays is too much on jumps and skating isn't this popular anymore in the world and he wants to put more emphasis on the artistry because artistic performances draw ppl to the sport. Frankly skaters not making it through their programs without falls or skate without emotion won't help making skating more popular. In the 6.0 system no one cared for the "right" technique of the jumps or underrotations it was all about the performance and if you landed your jumps. I don't pretend to understand the 6.0 system and I also don't want it back bc this system is fairer but tbh technique even today is really not the most important part of this sport imo. If some are keen on perfect technique then let's make a jumping contest and grade who has the best technique?

Ask yourself when you watched skating for the first time, did you care for the technical part or for the artistry? Did you like a skater because of their performance first or because of their technical stuff? Could you tell the jumps apart? Could you see what is UR and not? I for sure did neither know nor cared about anything technial. Did it make you NOT watch the sport bc someone had a "bad" technique? I guess not.

Ofc it's still a sport and jumps are an important part of it and ofc you have to evaluate them in a way and yes admittedly scoring is very controversial a lot of times and ISU needs reforms and more accountability of judges BUT it doesn't mean the wrong ppl win. Do I agree on all scores Shoma or anyone else gets? No I don't, but anyone seeing the protocols sees that judges aren't exactly agreeing on everything either. There is still a lot of subjectivity and anyone denying the subjective part is delusional, but there are rules in place and Shoma is neither breaking any rules nor does he judge himself and tbh if ISU would have put an emphasis on jumping technique they would never have validated Shoma's 4F in the first place bc it's not like he was never jumping it like this, tbh it actually was even much worse. This is Shoma's 9th season and the 9th season Shoma's 4F was ratified as such...for me at this point the same and same and same discussions about technique are really the least important part of skating...and it looks like ISU thinks just the same oops

So how about enjoying ice ART skating! Like the German word "Eiskunstlauf" puts the emphasis on ART in skating and I think the full package with artistry and jumps is more important than perfect technique.

And Shoma has the full package. He has the difficulty, he has the jumps even if not with "perfect" technique, he emotes to the audience, he makes ppl feel and get attached to skating, he has great deep edges, skates at lightning speed, he's a king at upper body movement and so much more. He is a brilliant skater and ppl who fail to see it just miss out on a wonderful skater. No one says Shoma's perfect but for me personally he comes pretty close. 😌

On a scale of one to ten how creature is pk?

PK swings between a 1 to a 10 with little to no warning, as he is essentially a dragon stuffed into a bugsuit trying its best to be a person. Instances of him hitting a 10 are extremely rare, but they're possible. Think a 'super intelligent buisness guy you respect who is vaguely offputting suddenly unfurling a second set of jaws to bite someones throat out and then revert to vaguely offputting buisness guy' sort of deal. The creature meter is low bc of his iron control, but never zero.

Ghost is a 5/10 on the creature scale to me honestly. They are very much recognizable as Not Quite Right and act a little more wild and cutthroat than a normal bug should, but their polite little walk in residental areas + the fact that they actively refuse to hurt certain npcs means that they have a sense of nobility about them. Sure, it kind of feels like a little kid being super serious about something sometimes, but when you lump in the fact that they are an unwanted child born from beings that are more element than bug, it adds a certain edge to the whole mix.

Hollow looks like an 8/10 but in reality is a 4 at most. They can get up to a 6 if they're losing their mind, but really all of it comes down to looks for them. They have that very regal/alien appearence that wears away to pure xenomorph nightmare fuel when the armour is taken away, but they are just naturally a quiet, patient, protective bug that has a keen grasp on social nuances and fears in mortal bugs from years of watching them, and is much better at understanding them than their parents. I'd call them a gentle giant, but tbh that's not entirely the case- when faced with competition or some sort of purpose, they turn absolutely ruthless and will fight to the death without any sense for their own safety, which gives them more creature points.

Hornet is a 9/10 and is completely unapologetic about it. She's the offspring of an obligate carnivore and a godly superpredator who then survived an apocalypse and made a living running through the wilds killing tresspassers, there's no way she isn't feral as all hell. Her creature factor is, however, wild in the sense of an elegant, terrifying big cat specifically, which is why I'm scoring her so high. She's a creature in a very dignified, graceful fashion, thank you very much

As for me, I'm a 9/10 as well. I don't really mentally clock myself as part of the human race most of the time, and if you ask me to draw a self-portrait, I automatically lean towards drawing myself as a dragon bc thats what feels more me than my own face. I'm not sure if that's an autism thing or just a basic dysphoria dissociation issue, but it doesn't really cause me much distress so eh, whatever

i'm ecstatic you like it!!!!! tbh BON-BON is growing on me so algae-like that i need to elevate other characters so he doesn't overtake them😅 i'm sure some ppl know how it is when a supporting character kinda starts to overshadow the mains accidentally. but instead of cutting him down, the others will rise instead. also you're right, BON-BON has confidence but he's not as well-versed in relationships and social knowledge as he presents himself. he's naive, a little. and he has a mental hierarchy of AI at the bottom, living beings at the top that's being challenged by how carelessly Y/N is being treated.

i ADORE writing Moon! so when he was throwing the fish at Y/N, he was mimicking their tactic of using food to lure him forward. kinda like how they were doing with the crabs in that moment. he wanted to form some kind of trust using food and make them come closer. at that point he had yet to see them without their mask, so to his knowledge other communication methods like speech weren't available.

heeheehoo i wanted him to look very dazzling during the hypnotism scene🥰😳 and i noticed with half of his face covered with the esca he looks more human?? which would help with luring humans bc it kinda obscures the uncanny valley aspect of his usual face shape. i love drawing all of them!

not to say something super obvious like grass is green and water will get you wet, but ummmm . even outside of dnd, mike and will would 100% roleplay together. they're both creatives with similar tastes, so i can see them coming up with all of their different little worlds and original characters to fill them up. some of them are fantasy, others are more adventurous, and some of them are their own superhero universes similar to marvel n dc but better because it's theirs. will draws their ocs and pivotal scenes and mike tells him they'll totally make a movie together about this one day obviously.

will isn't as confident in his writing, but mike tells him to shut up because of course you're good!!! you're great even!!! and you can draw, too, like talk about being a double threat, will!!! i won't stand for this slander of my best friend! will of course Loves mike's writing and all of the ideas and plots he can come up with at the drop of a hat. he lets and encourages mike to infodump about his characters' backgrounds, the world building, and all of the interpersonal subplots he was thinking they could do, and when mike suddenly peters out bc he's been talking nonstop for a couple minutes straight, embarrassed bc Dear God I'm Talking Too Much And Being Annoying Aren't I, will jus tilts his head and goes "why did you stop? :(" which makes mike pause n bashfully do The Will Smile bc ofc will is listening ofc he actually wants to know and cares abt wht i'm saying of course he does!! oooooh hi hello!!!! thank you for sending this and enabling me lol

okay, so as for what i'm drawn to -- i definitely have a Thing(TM) for poor soggy little meow meows lol. i like my female characters to resemble wet orphan kittens abandoned in the rain lol, but also have a very strong side to them that is in direct opposition to their soggy-meow-meowness lol. i really enjoy that duality. i enjoy that in all sorts of characters, and when it comes to fanfic i do read m/m and only very occasionally m/f pairings, but i am very rarely -- if ever -- inspired to write for them. i guess the formula for what compels me to write something is the combination of 1. soggy woman i wanna keep in a jar 2. is it something i want to read and feel there isn't much of in the world?

i exclusively write f/f pairings and woman-centred storylines -- not bc it's the only thing i enjoy in fiction, but bc it's the sort of thing i wanted to read when i was young and there was just so little of it, and i found it almost exclusively in fanfiction, with some exceptions such as sarah waters novels that i really enjoyed, but weren't translated in my language when i was a kid so i did struggle with them a bit (i would really wanna reread those now that i have a better grasp of the english language and am no longer a tween lol, i wonder if my opinion on them would change). i like to write from experience, and my experience is that of a rather odd gay woman moving through the world, so i like to channel that in my fiction. i feel like i'm Qualified(TM) to write it lol.

i'm about to be an old man shaking my fist at the world and demanding people get out of my swamp lol, but i feel like even though there has been a huge change in the amount of wlw storylines media we are Served every year (when i was a teen i feel i could count them all, that's how few movies/books there were, and at one point it was like okay..... i've seen it all lol or at least all that was accessible to me). and even though the media landscape has changed drastically in the last 10 years, i still feel like there are such few stories that really resonate with me? and we are generally being bombarded with very meaningless stories/media, just regurgitating the same shit over and over again (disney live action remakes are a good example of that trend, saying that as someone who was always a fan of disney if you couldn't guess by my username lol, and hasn't seen any of the remakes bc i simply Do Not Care, stopped caring around 2014 when maleficent came out). if you asked me to name a wlw story, or even a woman-centric story that doesn't involve a male love interest, that i really, truly enjoy, i feel like i'd struggle a bit. we get a lot of storylines in media that, imo, lack substance, and are often audience pandering (idk why supergirl came to mind, but it's a good example i feel). and tbh, the audience isn't picky. most people will just watch whatever lol, and honestly good for them but i Cannot lol. it needs to Hit A Spot for me. as for books, there is a better choice there i feel, but a lot of it is ya novels and i am simply not interested in that lol. no shade, but it's just not something i like to read. i want an old hollywood style romance with lesbians. i want phantom of the opera, i want the Drama(TM), i want a fucking hugh grant cheesy movie with lesbians. and so that's what i like to write -- just things i always wanted but never had lol.

i feel like in my works the Themes(TM) that appear a lot are:

1. loneliness and finding something or rather someone that quenches the thirst for company in a way that matters (i have always found irl that there's a lot of people who listen but don't hear what you're saying, and since i was a child i was always searching for people who will genuinely try to understand where i'm coming from and not just immediately try to put me in a box in their mind so they can Place Me somewhere and understand me in their own language. can you try to understand me in mine?)

2. pondering of morality, what's right and wrong and is there such a thing, rejecting and questioning societal norms.

3. a lot of kinky lesbian sex lol, through which i like to explore the psyche of the characters (or sometimes i'm just horny lol and sexuality and kink is something i like to think about a lot, esp bc my formative years were so traumatic in that aspect)

4. very character driven plots/characters changing their own fate or what *should* happen to them

5. the Intricacies of interpersonal relationships/developing a deep connection with someone and generally exploring emotional connection

6. this will be most prominent in the thing i am yet to post but is almost written, but i do enjoy some horror elements, gothic horror to be specific! i guess it's all the gothic novels i read in my youth :))

what's on your s5 wishlist? the silly, goofy things!!!

oh hello!! i saw several other people on my dash get this question, so thanks for including me :D

(also, i wanted to say congrats for finishing come back to me and forgive everything!! my apologies as i have not read it yet, but i know how challenging it can be to finish a longer work like that, so congrats on accomplishing what you did and for making something you're proud of :] 💜💜💜)

so my expectations for s5 are on the floor because sherlock hurt me too much back in the early-2010s so now i live life with no expectations for tv. but!! as far as silly goofy things i would love to see:

Argyle being a chekhov's gun of plot relevance like he was in vol2 getting them into the pizza shop. idk how, but i want him to have vital info that helps them avert the apocalypse. i'm thinking maybe since he's an outsider and isn't is as mired in all the UD stuff as everyone else that maybe he has some clarity about the situation that comes with distance. like have him point out something super obvious and everybody be like "well why didn't WE think of that"

i also think some pedantic bickering among the main group is warranted. just have them argue over something so minute and so unnecessary and get lost in the details of it because it's the damn apocalypse and of course they're looking for a distraction

i have one post-s4 fic where they go to a grocery store for a supply run and Mike slips on a rotten banana,,,not to reveal my love of slapstick humor on main but like. i do think something like that happening to any of the main characters would be funny, full offense to them (fic can be found here!)

and finally, there is an alternate universe that lives in my head where stranger things is a monster-of-the-week, 22-episodes-per-season styled show that has gimmick episodes, and if i were able to manifest at least one gimmick episode for s5 (that will never happen bc of the show's format but pls let me dream), i would want them to have a bottle episode/memory loss episode like Tabula Rasa from Buffy the Vampire Slayer!! just something where all the older and younger teens are stuck in Mike's basement, something happens, and all of them wake up with no recollection of who they are and have to piece together what they can based on the information they have contained on their persons and in the environment around them. i wanna write this fic so so bad and have for MONTHS now but just haven't gotten around to it,,,but tbh i don't care if it would be a total tonal disconnect from the rest of the season. i would 100% watch an hour long break from the main plot just to watch all the main characters suffer temporary amnesia and have to figure out who they are. plus it'd be funny just to see what people come up with, like...do Steve and Nancy wake up next to each other and assume they're a couple?? with Will's drawings up in the basement, do people assume it's Will's house? what happens when they find a family photo and realize Nancy and Mike are siblings and this is their house? things like that would be so so fun!!

One of the things that made me stop reading analyses in the Byler fandom is how people just tend to pick 'parallels' that they like while ignoring or dismissing other parallels that do not suit their takes. Especially the most/more obvious parallels that are put on the show. For example Byler being paralleled to other romantic ships show that byler is also romantic but apparently Mlvn being paralleled to Byler and other romantic ships don't count as a romantic parallel. Mike being paralleled to Vickie apparently isn't a parallel because it doesnt support the intended *parallel meaning*. They literally framed Vickie and Mike in the same way and gave them same lines while paralleling Vickie's ex and El, and Will/Robin.

People will analyze all Byler scenes back and forth to show how it's romantic meanwhile completely ignoring Mlvn's romantic moments on the show. Even when Byler itself literally parallels Mlvn..... And it happens all the time not just with parallels but with other stuff like framing/editing or set design clues.

And these are not even ''minuscule details'' or ''subext'' stuff that you have to analyse. They are like the most obvious parallels that the show put.

Dont get me wrong, i like finding clues and reading analyses but they just kinda feel extremely... disingenuous sometimes when you just pick stuff that you like while ignoring other stuff just bc it doesnt support your argument.

I don't understand the point of ignoring those parallels too, the existence of byler-minteven parallels is part of why I can't think Matrioska is not romantic, that and like also the framing of their scenes where they are framed with a romantic meaning very very often, especially in the first seasons but also in season 4 they have some moments framed as romantic too!

I didn't stop reading the theories because of that though, I hear people out many times even if I don't personally agree and I like seeing all the little details that maybe could be intentional... But I do stop reading the theories in the posts when they are phrased in a way that sounds pretentious to me or seems like they are saying that if you don't think that then you are stupid, but even in that case I just ignore it as long as there is no biphobic idea involved I'm fine with people ignoring what they want to ignore in the show... I just don't care xD

I think it's also a thing about a different interpretation of stuff, I tend to not be able to ignore the big picture of what I see all together, so stuff like the "boys only" thing or the drawing in El's room etc doesn't seem like a good enough reason to say Mike is gay to me I see it as sort of general queer coding for Mike like saying "from now on for you it's only one boy aka Will"

But I also see him as acting genuine with El and also liking kissing her a lot in s3 and other people watch that and are convinced he hates it because he moves her hands...so I just think it's all about the subject that is watching for some things and it can never be super objective because of that unless you are literally the writers

But you know, I still think they all should be allowed to ignore what they want tbh even if I think taking that into consideration gives the best fair judgement on the show if you try to be the most objective possible by looking at everything... but like I'm not here to police people about what they should talk about in the tag so I just skip it and continue my day lol I get annoyed if the arguments used are clearly born from biphobia, for the rest I don't care much tbh

in the end it's not that important if he's gay or bi or just queer the important thing is that he's happy and kissing Will Byers next season

But I definitely still think he's a messy bisexual until they confirm he's not, because that's what makes sense to me for now 🌈

How do you feel about Will as bi rep (a major issue for me, a bi dude), is it okay or is it kind of the same as the rest of the book?

First, just let me apologize for the agonizing waiting time. This ask is from May 2nd. In my defense, it took me just that exact time to ruminate for the best answer and still I barely have any clue what I'm talking about. I'm not good at this. I'm really not.

Anyway. Back to the point.

At first glance, I think there's another thing we need to address before going into the details of Will as a bisexual. And that is the definition of what, exactly, is considered representation.

Because Idk about you but I have some criterias when it comes to representation.

Sometimes people just write/ draw/ talk/ etc... about something because they want to or they like, you know? It doesn't have to be representation all the time just because they mention it. They don't want to represent, they just want to... express themselves, so to speak.

Imo, if something wants to represent a concept, a community, whatever, it needs 1/ to be done with a certain level of dedication, knowledge, and awareness, 2/ have some focus on their distinctive traits, and 3/ leave a memorable impression on their consumers/ audience. As the main purpose of representation is to include and to show, you should definitely make your appearance count.

Now, do I consider Will's bisexuality representation?

Eh. I don't know.

Tbh I don't have much of an impression of that... I mean. I'm aware. And it's great that Bisexual Will is finally canon after so many headcanons. And that's all. The weigh of the fact is, well, that of a fact. It doesn't leave an imprint on me.

I, personally, don't have a problem with that. As in: I would understand if Rick just want to include a bisexual character (demigod. Bc we all know Apollo and the Greeks is the whole LGBT spectrum). It doesn't have to be something big all the time, really - Kinda like the way Malcomn Pace's, Paulo Montes's, or Jake Mason's sexuality is left up to interpretation.

So, let's just assume that Will is a bi rep. What do I have to say about this?

I'm assuming you're asking specifically about that part of Will and Persephone (since I don't recall anything else...), so I'm gonna follow that path. I just want to make it clear that:

-Whilst slightly baffled, I have nothing against Will being attracted to Persephone.

-I don't consider it a good choice as bisexual representation.

The first point I have explained in another ask that: as long as it makes sense and fits into the plot - as in, plot-wise, logically - I don't have problem with it, and Will's attraction to life as a whole isn't something new. The principle of what it means, however, is another matter which depends on how the events themselves progress.

The second point: I just... don't think being interested in your boyfriend's step-mother is a good choice for bisexual rep, you know...? Like. I mean. Gods this is hard. I mean you have to admit it's a little weird, to some extent. I have seen weird stuff my whole fandom life but even I were like. "Okayyyy hold up a little---" It's kinda funny, yeah.

Not mentioning blatantly admitting it to your boyfriend's face. And no, Nico's "bisexual chaos" does not help.

Of all the famales in a series and Rick chose Will's boyfriend's step-mother. Bold, really. I'd give him that.

In conclusion: I have to say that I'm not good at this, and I'm at no position to speak for the bisexual community. Though since you ask, I'd say that I, as a AroAce still trying to figure out myself, can't be happy with canon Will as a bisexual representation, and neither do I hold it against the author(s).

Obey Me cast relationship with MC songs (2023 edition)

Found this post when scrolling through my old posts from 2020 and decided it would be fun to give it another crack now that 1) we have a LOT more canon material to go off and B) my taste in music has expanded past just grandma songs (not that I don't still enjoy grandma songs ofc) Also adding Diavolo, Barbatos, and Solomon since I have a better grasp on their personalities now. (Well, only barely with Barbatos, but we'll get to that lol)

Warnings: mild spoilers for lesson 16 of the original game in Belphie's, some of these songs use gendered language when talking about the significant other (implied female: Mammon; implied male: Levi, Asmo) *this doesn't mean MC must be that gender in those scenarios*

Lucifer: Honey Moon by Birds in the Airport. Okay, starting off on a somewhat angsty note lol. But look me in the eye and tell me I'm wrong. "...tear open every exit from the maze inside my mind" like come ON that's literally what MC does with Lucifer. Whether he'd verbalize any of this is another question entirely, but also isn't the point here.

Mammon: Fair by The Amazing Devil. I hemmed and hawed over this for a while, tbh. Wasn't sure if it was a lil too soft for his outwardly prickly ass, but I eventually settled on "this is him but he sure as hell isn't admitting it any time soon". The trouble with tsundere characters ig. But anyway he's a dork and the trying to make his partner laugh when they're mad at him felt very on-brand.

Leviathan: A Shitty Gay Song About You by Ezra Williams. I've associated Levi with this song for quite a while now. It has it all. Goldfish, self-deprication, pining, it's great. Oh, for Levi to lend me his sweatshirt tbh.

Satan: Cat Serenade by Beetlebug. Absolutely adorable song. It has cat metaphors, it has pining, it has the whole "I used to never open up to anyone but here we are", it's just super Satan in a lot of ways.

Asmodeus: Freckles by Kevin Atwater. I mean it's just adorable, first of all. But second of all, the theme of actually falling in love with someone for real when you're used to more casual relationships is pretty fundamental to Asmo's relationship with MC.

Beelzebub: Strawberry Mentos by Leanna Firestone. Idk maybe this is a bit too straightforward but even outside of any food references, it's such a sappy, sacchirine love song that it really does feel Right for Beel, big babey that he is.

Belphegor: Grace, Anatomy by Homemade Haircuts. Okay, while this isn't really addressed in-game, if he ends up in a relationship with MC, the shit that happened in the attic is gonna be weighing pretty heavy on his mind for a long time. Between that and his general abandonment issues, this song is an excellent reflection of his feelings about MC (at least early on in the relationship), even if most of it is stuff he would never actually say out loud.

Simeon: Chai Tea by audrey. Yeah, yeah, I know the title sounds more Barbatos, but the song itself is just so cozy and easygoing. (Of all the possible words to describe Barbatos, I think "easygoing" is about the last thing that would come to mind). All the other love interests are a bit more... uh... intense. Whereas this song is literally just being incredibly sappy and drawing a quiet comfort from the other person's presence even without talking about anything in particular.

Diavolo: Touch Starved by BB Bean. This doesn't require much elaboration, I don't think. The title says it all. Like honestly. "I'm just tired of the bubble, I just wanna hand to hold" is deadass how he acts in every surprise guest (at least in the og game, less so in nightbringer lol). Just wants to feel normal smh

Barbatos: A Wistful Waltz by Teddy Hyde. Okay, I need to apologize to Barbatos stans bc I struggle so much to figure this guy out (which I suspect is the point, but it makes it damn hard to come up with headcanons for him). But based on my tenuous grasp on his personality and... odd dynamic with MC, I think this should fit the bill. It's subdued but with that underlying intensity that I always seem to pick up on with him.

Solomon: Painting Roses by Dresses. I actually don't have much explanation for this, but Solomon in Nightbringer especially is just. He's such a fuckin disaster, man. (I actually was torn between giving this song to Solomon or Satan, but I ended up going with Sol in the end)

Hi Jalebi! How are you doing? I have a slightly spicy question for you, about the early post contract marriage days. I noticed that we had multiple instances of Arnav being shirtless around Khushi and he seems to be totally fine with it, like he's all self possessed and chill and acting like it's no big deal. But isn't it kind of a big deal??? Like imagine if Khushi ran into half naked Arnav at any point before marriage, even pre-marriage flirty days. It would be such a shocking and definitely sexually loaded moment. But when it happens post marriage, Arnav acts like it's nbd. Khushi definitely gets flustered and turned on (at least once) for sure, she has a rabba ve moment, then she seems to get used to it too, with time. But he's so casual about it right from the first time we see it happen on screen. Don't get me wrong, I ain't slut shaming Arnav, I love it, apart from the sensual aspect, there's also something so domestic and husbandly about Arnav being comfortable enough to be in a towel, get dressed etc in front of her etc. But for me it doesn't make sense bc at that point in the marriage Arnav is still all "I hate her" "this is a 6 month contract" "I'll never accept her as a wife" etc. So logically as per his control freak personality he should be all about Maintaining the Boundaries and Keeping Her Away lest he lose control and also so he can squash his feelings. He does that in other ways. But in this realm he's so chill and like "sure, see me undressed if you want to, idc". Which is, nice but confusing. It's a certain level of comfort that Khushi, for example, only achieves a lot later on in their marriage, when she lets herself not wear the dupatta around him in their room. Why do you think Arnav was comfortable in this aspect much earlier than her?

It is a big deal - more like an awkward deal. Arnav is actually pretty reluctant about coming out of the bathroom shirtless. The two times he does - it's a result of force.

At first Khushi stopped water mid-bathing, and warned him she'll keep yelling if he doesn't come out of the bathroom so he barely wears his pants and gets out cause she's being annoying AF.

During their 'honeymoon' Arnav comes out of the bathroom because he realized, much later after he removed his shirt, that he didn't take his towel. Again he was hesitant to come out, but came out cause Khushi was pretending to not understand that he wanted his towel.

She was, taken aback, as she is every single time.

Also, the last time he's shirtless in front of her is when he was bathing in Lakshmi Nagar and Khushi straight up violated his boundaries. There's nothing domestic about it. Water stopped running, there's soap in his eyes. He is without any clothes. Yet, yet he trusts Khushi enough to let her hold him and guide him to a place to get washed up. I know people see domesticity here but I see it as a violation of trust.

It's not less private because he's a man. Or because other men and kids are bathing as well. He had no idea Khushi would bring him in public.

An example of Arnav being comfortable shirtless in front of Khushi would be if he worked out in front of Khushi or changed clothes in front of her - you see this after the wedding. He's dressing up before her before taking her on a movie date. During remarriage days he always wears his shirt, just wears his suit jacket and tie in front of her (which is again more in line with him being comfortable in his own house than anything tbh).

And he draws serious boundaries with Khushi. He rips off honeymoon tickets. He doesn't want her putting blanket on him when he's about to sleep. Initially he doesn't even let her sleep in the same periphery, he only does so at first out of inconvenience (when Khushi feigns to be sick), and then he can never bring himself to put her out.

So, unfortunately, there's very little that's romantic in that phase just in my opinion.

But you know when they do start getting domestic? During Gupta house when he complains to Buaji about Khushi piling all mechanical things on him. Or when he tells khushi to step aside, he'll bring the flowers. Or when he flirts with her that nose is red. In fact the whole Gupta house thing they were very very 'married'.

I had been meaning to draw him as a dragon months before I got this ask and this was the thing that finally got me to do it thank you anon

Anyways. The guy (with a little planning doodle on the side I forgot to erase)

Now to explain my process for the design here, because I'm insane.

Let's start with the hair. Joseph's hair can't really be translated into spines on a back that well. Hair doesn't really translate that well at all. So I opted to lessen the "spikes" to 1, instead of the usual 3. The spines are also all joined instead of separate like I usually do them, to try keep the feel of soft and flowy hair. Also, because I am insane, I decided to make sure this design was reminiscent of. Crash Bandicoot. Yeah I've seen people joke about how similar human Joseph and Crash are so to help keep dragonseph fitting I also used Crash as a reference. This makes sense to me. Understand.

He's a classic European dragon (2 wings, 4 legs) for many reasons. You'd think I'd go with a wyvern bc of flying, but. The limb loss. I have no idea how the loss of a wing via severing would work. Nothing to go off of for it. "Oh but Nibwhip it's just a single drawing" I have thought about this world in great detail and will likely draw more in the future. I'm planning accordingly. I also think it just fits him bc. European (British. I think being British counts as being European? Idk), as well as the limbs. He can run much better than a wyvern can you know?

Horns. First of all I've been thinking about the Pillar Men here and designing Joseph accordingly. This sounds odd but. Humans and Pillar Men are different species, different physical characteristics. Same must apply for dragons here, except more visible bc I didn't like too much how the Pillar Men were in canon (too human). I've already confirmed in my mind palace that the Pillar Men (...Pillar Dragons? Yeah let's go with that) will have front facing horns, for many reasons I will elaborate on in a separate, later post. So, normal dragons will always have horns facing the other way (maybe other ways too. But mostly pointing back like that). I've also made em big and fat here to make em look solid. I didn't want to draw him as buff as humanseph, but I still needed to get across that feeling of strength. So boom. Get these chunky horns on your head dude

Now. Colours. Probably were expecting like. Green and yellow/purple for this, right? Those are colours he wears, not just...his hair colour. I went with the brown anyways, not just for the hair colour though. Back to strength. Brown's a nice earthy colour. Quite solid. I don't know enough about colour theory here but. I can ASSURE you that if I had done this in green or purple he would've felt a lot scrawnier. Brown's also a warm, welcoming colour. If that makes sense. Makes sure he still feels friendly and good despite the design change and all the things I did to make him look strong. Also with vibrant colours like green and purple it's harder to make a hypothetical oldseph version of this design. But here the brown also works it's an "old" colour. You know. Like a worn leathered cover to a book or smth. The brown works I assure you.

I also gave him "eyebrows" bc a Joseph without thick as hell eyebrows isn't a Joseph to me. Very defining part of his design tbh I HAD to get it in there.

Hey, I know you're a Projmoon fan, I guess I'm curious because I'm at an impasse on what to do rn, did you play through the entirety of Lobotomy Corporation, did you just skip it entirely for Ruina, or did you read a summary/watch a cutscene compilation or let's play/something else? And what would you recommend as an approach? I've tried playing through Lobcorp but it's just extremely tedious and I'm considering skipping it to get to something I think I'll like more (Ruina)

what i personally did was um. attempt to watch an incomplete lobcorp lp ==> couple months radio silence ==> watched one (1) day of gameplay from a friend (for one boss fight specifically) ==> got recc'd summaries i slowly watched thru ==> couple months radio silence. ==> watched someone else's (actually complete) lp ==> (rabbit hole'd) summaries again.

TRY to play Lobcorp! which i can kinda see is already done on your end. its something i Super want to try but absolutely know i wont finish SKJFNKDJF;; the main draw of PLAYING lobcorp is the struggle. it Sucks! its Long and Tedious and the game HATES you... and that's the point! it's plot relevant. it's an experience i didnt get to feel, but can so painfully just Understand by merit of watching someone else do it, only skipping about occasionally. tl;dr: the game loop is Telling A Story, Dragging You In-- THAT is the draw in insisting folks play it. it genuinely makes the... everything... hit that much harder. Once youve given it your best, dont feel ashamed to look for someone who's Done It! (i hear a lot of folks havent completed lobcorp themselves, so ✌) DONT UM . SKIP IT COMPLETELY THOUGH ruina is literally a Direct Sequel to it. i think it does a good enough job at introducing the setting on its own, but i am GRABBING YOU this shit will hit fucking DIFFERENT if you Understand. also its a lovely game worth looking at and appreciating bc GOD what a fucking experience those last few days are. i do not cry that easily to stuff like this but OUGH. AUGH. H

Wonderlab??? its a webcomic thats heavily reccommended you read through, but due to um. circumstances . it doesnt seem t be feasible atm. however, there IS a synopsis up thats pretty darn good! wonderlab, iirc, isn't directly plot relevant, but DOES introduce certain important concepts for ruina. however, it's not Mandatory, as ruina Also explains these things. as far as i know, its just a fun lil kickass story in the universe taking place between series you can look at if you want :)

Play Ruina! or watch, i guess. again, i watched an lp and it kicked the shit out of me emotionally (affectionate) so honestly do what you will here, i suppose.

honestly though, these are both super fucking long-ass and ridiculously heavy games so you're probably gonna be here a while. it took me like two weeks of committed watch time t look into Properly, and that was even when i started skipping straight to cutscenes at the latter half. embrace that! i cant stop you, but id heavily reccommend at the very least watching through the gameplay loop for a good chunk of the time-- giving the story that space really hammers home the... Everything. heavily heavily recc letting it Have that space.

for ruina specifically though, definitely at least watch through the beginning and ending legs of every fight-- and at least a solid chunk of every boss fight. if you're intent on skipping round gameplay loops like i did, imean. watch the boss fights watch the boss fights these fuckers do NOT play around. i cannot applaud these games' soundtracks enough and i wont say anything but trust me trust me trust me.

Alt SUMMARY: [x] (Consists of both parts of the duology! I haven't actually watched it in a while so i don't exactly remember much t say about it, but it sure is on my list!)
