Fluff and walking under the rain

"Oh, tsukki look its raining!!"

Kei was putting on his jacket before he turned to tadashi looking absolutely mesmerised by the rain. He got his umbrella out, and he knew Tadashi forgot His.

"Aaa, biking in this rain sucks," hinata stated before he ran to his bike anyway with kageyama shouting at him.

Kei was staring at the nothing, or basically staring at tadashi who already got his hand out to wet it with the cold rain water.

Everyone else was busy with Themselves but he and tadashi were in their own little world as usual. In their little bubble they exist.

Soon they started walking home. Tadashi glowed to Kei to hide from the rain under the umbrella, unless till the reach where they reach the point where they take different Streets back to their homes.

"Oh god, im waaaay too tired to do the math homework. I feel like the teacher hate us?! But like we aren't that bad and we are in one of the advanced classes but we get so much homework ughhhh,"

Kei listened to tadashi's rumbling about the Homework, hmming when needed and chuckling when tadashi cracks a joke. But most importantly he is keeping an eye on the ground to make sure they don't step on any water puddle.

With his hand on tadashi's waist he guided him through the water, knowing tadashi he won't even Notice them until he steps by mistake into one and then whines all the way home about how it feels weird and uncomfortable.

"Ok, time for me to go my way tsukki, see you tomorrow," tadashi was about to step in the rain, away from the safety of the umbrella and kei.

"Where the hell do you think you are going?"

"Home?!"

"I know tadashi, i mean outside the umbrella dimensions. Im walking you home,"

Kei pulled tadashi by the waist again to his side and started walking to tadashi's home direction.

"Noooo, Kei, its nothing its just five+

Minutes of the rai-"

"You aren't wearing warm clothes and you will catch a cold and we cant risk our bench server sick," kei was blushing, his simp behaviour was all over and he couldn't control and with the look on tadashi's face he knows he is in for some teasing.

"Hmmmm, you only care about me as a server tsukkiiii. That's kinda making me saaaad. I thought i was your bestfriend and boyfriend and the love of your life and you would dieeee without me," tadashi dramatically whipped some fake tears of his face.

God, tsukki loves him so much

"I never said any of these stuff ex-"

"So im not your boyfriend?!" Again, dramatically pretending to faint over kei. Kei had to again force him close away from the rain.

"I was still talking. I never said any of the other stuff except that you are my boyfriend,"

"But actually You did say that im the love of your life,"

"I didn't,"

"You did,"

"I did not,"

"You did!! You were sleepy amd just whispered it into my ears when i was sleeping over at your place two weeks ago,"

"......... I don't remember,"

"And I- THE GREAT YAMAGUCHI TADASHI- have Evidence," he ran away into the rain, turned around and laughed the evil witch laugh.

/not the rain/ kei sprinted to again keep him under the umbrella," i told you stay with me you will catch a cold. God, your collar isn't even done right. Hold this," he gave tadashi the Umbrella and then wrapped his scar secure around tadashi's neck.

He didn't get to finish before tadashi tiptoed to kiss his lips softly.

"Thank you," tadashi thanked him, lips almost touching.

Kei couldn't handle it, he was so in love. It hurts but in a good way, in a way That he wants to feel everyday for the rest of his life. It wasn't a lie that tadashi was the love of his life.

He kissed him deeper, his arms surrounded tadashi's body so easily like its meant to do so.

They pulled back, lips red and puffy from kissing.

"Come on, let's Get you home," kei took the umbrella from tadashi, arm around his waist.

"Ok, kei-chan,"

"I told you not to call me this,"

"But it makes you blush then no!! Also no one is around us, i can call you whatever i want,"

Kei sighed, blushing of course but also thanking every God on earth for his boyfriend and that they finally reached his boyfriend's house.

"Ok, here you go, bye,"

"Where the hell are you going, i demand my kiss,"

"I can literally see your mom looking at us, tadashi,"

"And what, its just a kiss you aren't shoving your dick Up my ass,"

"Ok, fine,"

Tadashi tiptoed again to give him a little kiss on the cheek then turned around and ran to his front door,"see you tomorrow babe,"

Kei is sure everyone in the neighbourhood heard him and oh god its so embarrassing.

"See you tomorrow," he Turned around and walked back home fast. He was soooo sure that tadashi's mom was the one who gave him dating advices and goddamn they worked on him so easily.

Some shocking news at the hospital reveals an even more shocking secret.

The chairman of Ohyama Hospital dies in the middle of the night. Hitoka is the first to get the call, but it doesn’t take long for her to let the others know.

By the time the funeral begins later that morning in a special wing of the hospital, she's sitting at a table with Kageyama and Tsukishima. Hinata is in the middle of operating, and Yamaguchi…

"What the hell?" Kageyama grumbles. "Tsukishima, did you know about this?"

Tsukishima rolls his eyes and scoffs, "Of course I did. You think I haven’t met his family? We've been friends since middle school."

"Then why the hell didn't you tell us?"

"You never asked." Tsukishima's voice is bland as he helps himself to some takoyaki. "You knew his family was loaded anyway."

"Not 'son of the chairman' loaded! I thought he was broke these days, the way he keeps mooching off you."

Tsukishima's apathetic wall cracks as he shoots Kageyama a sharp glare. "He's not asking you for anything, so why do you care?"

Kageyama glares back and his lips twist, but he says nothing. It's Hitoka who quietly pipes up, "Still…it would've been nice to hear it from him. I didn't know he was keeping a secret this big from us."

As always, Tsukishima's gaze softens a bit on the trip from Kageyama to her. "It's not that he didn't trust you guys. He just didn't know how to bring it up, and he didn't want it to change things."

"Change things how?" Kageyama grumbles. "Did he think we'd ask him for money? A promotion?"

"No." Hitoka and Kageyama jump when Yamaguchi suddenly sits at the head of their little table. He looks drained, like he's been scooped hollow with grief and exhaustion. "I don't think that would've even occurred to you, Kageyama."

"How're you doing?" Hitoka asks gently, just loud enough to cover the sound of Kageyama's grumbles.

"Been better. It's just…a lot to take care of." His smile is tired, even a little bitter. "It doesn't feel fair, having to take care of so much when the grief is so fresh."

A hum of sympathy runs around the table. There's a moment of silence, before Tsukishima peers at Yamaguchi and carefully asks, "Have you thought about what you'll do?"

"I'm not taking the position over," Yamaguchi scoffs. A wrinkle forms between his brows at the thought. "I don't care how many times Father asked, it's not happening. I'm trying to convince the board to vote for Kitagawa-san over me, but I'm not sure if it's working."

"Well, if anyone can convince them, it'd be you." Tsukishima's voice is ever-so-gentle, and the weary stress on Yamaguchi's face melts away in gratitude.

"Thanks, Tsukki."

A wry grin tugs at Kageyama's lips. When Hitoka shoots him a questioning frown, he only mouths, Simp.

"You're what?"

The entire group flinches at Hinata's shriek, his shrill notes bouncing in the empty room. Hitoka sends a silent thanks to the universe that the VIP ward is currently unoccupied.

"The late chairman's son," Tsukishima snaps, rubbing at his ear closest to Hinata. "God, King, you didn't tell him?"

"Sorry, it didn't 'come up.'"

"Okay, alright!" Yamaguchi exclaims before Tsukishima can say anything, holding his hands up as though he could physically hold back an argument. "Yeah, Hinata, he's my dad."

"But you're not taking his position?"

"No."

"Why?! You could make enough money to stop mooching off Stingy-shima!"

"Why do you two care so much about him borrowing my money?"

"I didn't become a doctor to be stuck behind a desk, taking care of administrative paperwork." The threat of bickering again subsides at Yamaguchi's words. "I do this job for the patients. They're the ones who matter to me."

Hinata immediately looks abashed, his grimace lined with understanding as much as embarrassment. It's still not enough to fully silence him. "Then…why the meeting?"

Yamaguchi brightens at the reminder, his eyes settling into the cool focus so distinct from his warm, sometimes-nervous smiles. "I spoke with Kitagawa-san regarding the VIP wards once he agreed to take the position. We managed to come to some more agreements, but he said I would be responsible for ensuring the ward is staffed with the best of the best."

"And that's…? Ow!" The sight of Kageyama's shoulder moving and Hinata rubbing at his ribs tells Hitoka all she needs to know. "Alright, I get it!"

"What if we don't want to work for the VIP?"

Yamaguchi doesn't look surprised by Tsukishima's pushback. Hitoka isn't surprised either, not once she looks to her side and sees a small grin and a challenging glint in Tsukishima's eye. "Don't be so quick to say no, Tsukki."

With that, he unclips his messenger bag and produces four packets of paper, earning a groan from Hinata and a sigh from Kageyama. "I still don't know how you two made it through med school," Tsukishima sniffs.

"Yacchan."

The unified answer brings a flush to Hitoka's cheeks, even as she shoots a small frown at the pair. "Give yourselves more credit than that!"

"Or don't," Tsukishima snorts. "They're not wrong."

"'Duties include coming to the hospital and performing procedures at the request of Party A, including during holidays and weekends,'" Kageyama reads off the second page, ignoring Tsukishima in favor of looking through the contract. "Who's Party A?"

Hitoka skims through the contract and can't help letting out a soft laugh when she finds the answer. "It's him."

The other three follow her eyeline back to Yamaguchi. "Wow," Kageyama scoffs, "what're you trying to do, make us your slaves?"

Hinata nods in furious agreement. "Yeah! Why would we agree to something like that?!"

"You'll get paid twice your annual salary."

There's a beat of silence, broken by the sound of rustling paper and clicking pens. "You should've put that on the first page!" Hitoka laughs as she signs every dotted line.

"Does anyone have an inkpad? I should sign this with my fingerprint," Tsukishima mutters.

"Hey, Yama—?"

"No."

Hitoka and Tsukishima look up in simultaneous bewilderment. "What do you mean, no?" Yamaguchi asks, affronted.

"I mean, no," Kageyama repeats, unwaveringly meeting Yamaguchi's bewildered stare.

"You too, Hinata?!"

"Yep!"

"Why?!"

"We want something besides extra pay!" Hinata declares stoutly.

Yamaguchi stares at them in silent deliberation, before offering, "You'll get your own parking spaces and private offices."

"What?!" Hitoka squeaks.

Hinata and Kageyama continue staring at Yamaguchi in a rare moment of unified silence.

"...and private labs with grant assistance."

"Yamaguchi, you traitor."

"I don't wanna do more work," Hinata tuts, looking entirely too satisfied with himself.

"Then what?"

Understanding, dread, and amusement clamor in Hitoka's chest when she sees the duo exchange a grin. "Oh, no."

"No," Tsukishima declares, "no, I already told you two, I won't do it. I'm way too busy for that, we're not in college anymore!"

"Then we won't sign!" Hinata's demeanor is casual when he leans back with his arms crossed. "It's not really a VIP ward without an obstetrician or a general surgeon, huh?"

"Shoyo, come on," Hitoka tries to gently cajole him. "We don't even have enough for a team."

"Sure we do!" he cheerfully corrects her. "We've got enough for beach!"

"Where the hell—?"

"Hinata found a gym in the city with indoor beach courts." Kageyama's expression finally cracks with a smug grin at Tsukishima. The way Hinata puffs out his chest with pride would be sweet, if Hitoka couldn't easily read the smug triumph in his warm eyes.

Yamaguchi is silent the whole time, eyes flickering between Hinata and Kageyama. He only speaks up after Kageyama mentions the gym. "It's just for fun, right?"

Hinata blinks. "Huh?"

"You want to do this just for fun? No tournaments or championships or any of that?"

"Oh! Right!" Hinata's smile could rival the sun. "We just wanna play volleyball again and spend more time with you guys!"

"But mostly play volleyball," Kageyama adds.

"So if we agree to play volleyball, you both will sign the contracts and work for the VIP wards?"

"Yep!"

Yamaguchi nods slowly, almost setting a beat to the gradual descent of horror over Tsukishima's face. "Yamaguchi…Tadashi, don't you dare."

"...Fine."

Hinata whoops with triumph, and Kageyama wears a broad grin that conveys the same amount of excitement. Tsukishima, on the other hand, shoots to his feet and drops his pen onto his contract with a muffled clatter. "No, no way," he declares, "I gave them my answer and I meant it! I don't have time, and even if I did, I wouldn't want to spend it diving into the sand with these two!"

"We're right here," Kageyama reminds him, grin unwavering even under Tsukishima's withering glare.

"You two can go choke on sand together, but leave me out of it."

With that, Tsukishima storms out of the room. Hinata chases him to the door, where he shouts behind him, "We don't need you anyway! Yacchan can play with Yamaguchi!"

"Um," Hitoka pipes up, trying and failing to keep her voice from shaking with suppressed laughter, "if I have to play instead of referee, I don't think it's fair for you and Kageyama to be on a team together."

It's a little sweet, the way both Hinata and Kageyama's faces fall. "...Fine," Kageyama sighs. "I'll play with Yamaguchi."

Hinata forces his face into a bright smile that Hitoka can see straight through. "You'll be a beach pro before you know it!"

Ah, well. She'll just wait until later to tease him about ruining his clear plans to get closer to Kageyama and badly matchmake Yamaguchi and Tsukishima.

That weekend, ahead of their first set, Kageyama and Hinata's receiving lessons for Hitoka are interrupted by Yamaguchi's arrival. To everyone's shock, he's not alone.

"What're you doing here?!" Hinata squawks, pointing an accusatory finger at Tsukishima's beetred, glowering face.

"Ah, Tsukki was easy to convince," Yamaguchi chuckles, slinging an arm around Tsukishima's shoulders and tugging him down the small difference in their heights. "He just needed a reminder of all the fun we had in Hawaii."

"...Shut up, Yamaguchi."

Tobio was at practice with Shoyo and the rest of the volleyball team but at the moment they all having a break. "Bakayama!" Tobio look at the tangerine boy and scowls a bit but then sighs.

"What Boke!"

"Ready for training camp with other teams!" Shoyo jumps up and down and have the excitement in his eyes to play against the other team members.

"Shut up boke!" As the rest of the team sighs at the duo, as practice finishes they all went in the changing room as Tobio was fast enough to finish changing he said to everyone "See you."

"Bye!!"

As Tobio left the changing room, Noya was thinking about something until Asahi asked "Whats wrong Noya?"

"Hmm I been thinking for awhile."

"Wow you think Noya-san."

"Shut up Tsuki!"

"Don't call me that."

Suga then asked to stop the argument, "But what have been thinking though?" Suga and the rest looks at Noya.

Noya reply "Who do you guys think be the cuties babies in our team?" All the boys except from Tobio because he left to go buy food for his fridge at home.

"Hmm well I think it be Hinata."

"Maybe Yachi."

"Yamaguchi."

All the boys answered who be the cuties babies and yes even Kei Tsukishima himself. (Shocking) Until Shoyo said "I wonder what Bakayama is like as a kid?"

Now all the guys looks at Shoyo when he said that as they made they way out of the changing rooms and go down the hill. Tsukishima asked "He probably have that scowl on his face."

Yamaguchi said to Kei, "That's mean Tsuki."

"Urusai Tadashi."

"Gomen Tsuki."

"To be honest, we don't know much about Kageyama." Daichi added

Suga reply "Your right about that, but I bet he is adorable when he is a kid." Suga have that dream look.

Chikra said "Well who knows right."

"Imagine Kageyama turns into a kid." Tanaka said.

"D-don't jinx it guys!" Worried Asahi.

"Haha but I bet Kiyoko-San be adorable as a baby." asked Noya with hearts in his eyes (simp).

Tanaka simping over Kiyoko as a baby while the rest just either give the two simps looks or ignore them. As Shoyo just shake his head at senpais but he wonders what Bakayama is like as a kid before he becomes king of the court.

It sure be a sight to see...

"Tch." Well that's another fail. It's currently almost midnight and he is still practicing. You were accompanying him, just being there as a silent support. You were hoping you can help more but you know nothing about volleyball. I mean you did some research but there's a limit to that.

"Tadashi?" You called out carefully as you saw him standing still with heavy breaths. You walked towards him and before you could put your hand on his shoulder-

He drops to the cold floor of the gym, both knees supporting his body, "I’m so tired," He said, voice thick and unsteady. You swiftly put yourself on your knees in front of him, worry clearly written in your face.

"Hey sweetheart look at me," You whispered softly, while holding his face with both hands. Tears start to drop from his beautiful eyes, soon turning into a stream. You hugged him as tightly as you can, letting him know that you're here. You are not going anywhere.

Small sniffles turn into heavy sobs. You stroke his hair and pat his back, whispering sweet nothings in his ear. You know how he tries his best to be able to stay on the court just a bit longer. But sometimes things just aren't going smoothly. He's amazing in your eyes, every receive and serve was a masterpiece. But that's coming from you so it may have been a bit biased. One thing you know for sure is he deserves every second he gets to stand on the court.

After he calmed down, he turned his head and planted a kiss on your cheek. You pull back and brush the trails left by his tears away.

"You know it's okay to take breaks right? it's okay to fall down too as long as you get back up again," You told him, keeping your eyes locked to his.

"Yeah I know, thank you for reminding me and staying," He sighed and took a deep breath.

"And I'll even be your crutch if you have a hard time standing again!" You grinned. Oh. I'm in love. The way the corner of your eyes crinkled, your lips turning upwards, your face shining brightly. He's there looking at you, taking in the moment where he realized he is in love with you, while you continue to ramble on about what you can be for him.

"Oh I can be your bed too! Rest on me when you feel tired!"

"How about your- wait no that doesn't make sense,"

❥ You were still listing off the things you can be when you're both cleaning up the gym. (it's fine because he loves listening to your ramblings).

❥ He hasn't said that he loves you yet. He wants it to be perfect, which means days of planning for that. (plus he's also nervous).

19-kageyama turn into a kid!

Time move forward, everyone seems to forgot that Tobio was there since you know short and a kid as they were busy doing volleyball and they don't want to hurt Tobio.

But what more hurt that Tobio is lonely, he don't want to be annoying by going up to them, Tobio is determine as he grab one volleyball and go to someone to play with him but he couldn't find anyone who was competing against other team so Tobio decide to go play outside while he pouts as he bounce the ball down the ground.

Tobio mumbles "Nee-san....Oji-san..."

Bokuto was in his emo mode after the last play until he hears a sniffle as he frowns to himself and goes to see who it crying any maybe cheer that person up until he near the sniffle come clear as he saw a similar kid-Kageyama.

Bokuto pouts and thought 'Why is no one looking after him? Oh...wait we forgot about him did we. Great now I felt bad!' Bokuto goes where Tobio is and pat his head gently as Tobio stop his sniffle and tears that falls on his face, as he looks up and saw Bokuto as Bokuto asked "Hey Kageyama, no need to cry." Bokuto smile at him as he wipes his tears away with his thumb gently.

"No one paying attention to me...." Tobio said to Bokuto who can't help felt guilty that no one even himself wasn't paying attention to him he even remembers what Kenji said when Tobio was sleeping.

-flashback-

After Suga lecture them after what they taught Tobio as Tobio looks confuse as he shrugs it off and play volleyball with the shrimp...I mean Hinata.

After Tobio and everyone ate, Tobio going to sleep with the managers while the three simps were jealous that wanted to be Tobio place or is it the other way round...who knows.

Tobio falls asleep, Kenji and the rest of the team are there playing a game true and dare but Kenji and the other babysitters who seem lost in thought as Tsukishima asked Tadashi "What with you Yamaguchi?"

Tadashi respond back "Well it just that after we got to know Kageyama a bit since his in that state, do you ever think you know that his lonely?"

Everyone was silent until Shigeru answer "His right, he even said that his parents never around only his oji-san and nee-san that's it."

"Not only that, all he wants is to play is volleyball with everyone here even his nee-san and oji-san." Kenji reply back as everyone turn their head to face the second-year date tech captain. As Kenji continue "I don't care what everyone says, I want to protect that smile of his and his innocence as well. Everything about him is different from him as the king of the court."

Everyone even his middle school team as they thought it over and agree they want to protect Tobio from everything after all he is dense but sweet.

-end of flashback-

Bokuto patting his head gently and wiping the tears away that still flowing down "I'm sorry Tobio that everyone is busy with practice, it's our fault."

Tobio look into Bokuto gold eyes with his blue eyes as Bokuto can't help felt mesmerize by how blue it is as he replies "It's okay, at least you apologise. Its not you lot fault that you were busy with volleyball and I understand because you and the others love volleyball soooooo much." Tobio smiles cutely as Bokuto grins at him.

Bokuto then said "Lets play volleyball together!"

Tobio blue eyes sparkle again as Bokuto can't help seeing the soul to the window that know his emotion is.
