Infernal Shadows 03
Synopsis: Being one of the most powerful overlords in Hell, you like to keep up with colonies and overlord plans. Recently with the new extermination date out, you hold your annual gala sooner than usual. You hadn’t expected to get in the middle of the already heated feud between the Radio Demon and the head of Vox Tech.
Warnings: She/Her pronouns used for the reader, mentions of blood, voodoo?, Angel Dust being a horn-bag, Reader is referred too as Madame to the public. Vox and Alastor feud because I live for it. Carmilla and Velvet feud because I also live for that. I also really favor Zestial for some reason as a calm mediator.
Song for this chapter: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61
A/N: Thank you all so much for your positive feedback & feedback in general on the last two posts!! I really didn’t think this would catch so much attention but I’m so glad people like it. For some reason Tumblr’s being weird and doesn’t want to let me tag certain people, I don’t know why but if anyone does please let me know because I really don’t like that ;/ But I hope you all enjoy this chapter!! Please note that some blogs cannot be tagged, so I recommend checking this post and to check your settings to make sure I can tag you! If anything I can always just message you when the next chapter comes out, and yes I am making this series longer :) it’ll also be posted on my Wattpad soon!

Engaging with guests throughout the night had become an exhausting endeavor, and a part of you yearned for the solace of your absence. Nevertheless, you maintained the façade, acknowledging every sinner whose smile dripped with crimson mischief. Having greeted each guest, you discreetly slipped into a shadowed corner, your shadows enveloping your figure quickly, seamlessly disappearing from the expansive room in mere seconds and emerging into an intimate gazebo outside, meticulously arranged beneath the sweeping branches of a weeping willow, you marveled at its unique ambiance. Unlike the earthly counterparts that stood white, the willow in your realm bore a deep crimson hue, its leaves adorned with a subtle, luminous sheen. A gentle smile graced your lips as you leaned against the sturdy black iron railing, delicately cradling a piece of the weeping willow between your fingertips. In the distance, the grand mansion hosting the gala loomed, its opulence contrasting with the simplicity of your secluded retreat. Despite the awareness of etiquette dictating against leaving guests unattended, the need for a mental break led you to this haven, a safe space for you. Reflecting, you acknowledged a desire for better preparation and rehearsal with the shadows, realizing the repetitiveness of conversations with the familiar sinners had rendered the night somewhat lackluster. It almost felt like you had come out of hiding for nothing. Quite the disappointment.
You sigh, massaging your temples, the lace fabric on your fingertips only slightly soothing the growing headache. However, not too far behind, you hear the sound of soft grass. You straighten up and turn around, seeing none other than your long time friend Zestial, who just smiled, nodding at you.
“Why art thou out here all alone on this crimson night?” Zestial inquired, standing by your side with his back against the railing. You resumed your original position, taking a moment to appreciate his father. Mentally noting how much of your grandfather Zestial reminded you of, you kept the sentiment unspoken.
Tonight, Zestial adorned himself in an outfit resonant with his time period, preserving his distinctive color scheme. A dark, meticulously tailored coat with lime green accents draped over his slender frame, capturing the essence of his demonic class. The cloak, adorned with lime green spider webs, unveiled a mesmerizing display when unfurled—his lime green eyes radiating, the upper pair embellished with vivid red irises. Instead of the customary big top hat, Zestial selected a smaller, more appropriate hat with a touch of flair. Dark as the shadows you command, it featured a light grey patch at the front and was finished with a grey-colored skull and a lime green and red-striped feather on the right side, adding a distinctive touch that mirrored his nature.
“Why art thou out here all alone on this crimson night?” Zestial repeated, shifting toward you a bit. Yet you resumed your original position, savoring the quiet ambiance before finally answering him. “What shall we discourse upon during our repast this eventide?” Zestial asked. Though his wording occasionally posed a challenge for others, having grown up in a family of eloquent speakers, you easily deciphered his intent. Something he truly appreciated. Though he was learning to speak more ‘modern’, or as modern as he could be.
“Quite unsure of that. Everything is changing, and I fear I might be left behind,” you expressed bluntly. Zestial sighed in response, a mix of understanding and concern evident in his lime green eyes.
“Madame, thou art timeless,” Zestial said with a bow, his cup proofing into smoke. “I pray thee, vex not thyself o’er so trivial a matter,” he added, his words resonating with both reassurance and genuine care.
You nodded, handing him a card. His surprised expression upon finding two cards instead of one didn’t escape you. “What manner of thing is this?” Zestial inquired, prompting you to summon a shadow for yourself, knowing he would find his own means back to the Gala.
“Carmilla. I am no fool to the both of you,” you said, amusement coloring your words as Zestial shook his head.
“Thou dost astonish me on every occasion,” Zestial remarked, standing by your side as you walked into your portal. Two seats vanished, leaving four empty seats at your table and six occupied.
In your study, you floated scripts in front of you, checking off names on the table list for tonight. With a few overlords left to choose from, Alastor and Charlotte secured seats based on trust and connections. Vox, Zestial, and Carmilla, an unspoken but potent couple, promised intrigue. Reconsidering Velvet for her potential devolution, you weighed each decision with strategic acumen.
Valentino, the Von Eldritch twins, and other weaker options were dismissed, maintaining a careful balance of power and influence. As you weigh the option of inviting Rosie to the gathering, her unpredictable nature adds a layer of excitement and potential surprise to the upcoming discussions. However, this unpredictability could also introduce challenges, creating an air of uncertainty around her contributions. Hopefully with Alastor around, she’d feel more inclined to behave. You check her name off the list.
In considering Stolas, the Goetia prince, his personal issues and tarnished reputation pose significant hurdles. Divorcing from his wife, sleeping with an imp for fun, as well as losing control of his daughter on Earth, it all seemed too risky to get involved with. While his wisdom and influence could contribute positively, the shadows of his struggles may complicate the dynamics, stirring potential conflicts and requiring delicate handling. Someone might get out of line with a comment towards him. His power was incredibly useful, but not worth the risk.
Husk’s transformation from a former overlord to a bartender signals a decline in power and status. While his laid-back demeanor might bring a sense of unpredictability, his diminished influence raises questions about the relevance of his involvement in the current political landscape of hell. Though he was your friend, you needed to keep your reputation pristine.
As the you contemplate the overlords assets, a mix of excitement, caution, and uncertainty envelops the decision-making process. Each overlord’s potential positive contributions are balanced by the looming negatives.
“Madame?” One of your shadows materialized, prompting a nod for them to proceed. “There seems to be some trouble in the lobby between the guests. What would you like us to do?” it inquired. A grimace crossed your face, hoping the disturbance wouldn’t mar your night. “Let me handle it,” you declared, snapping your fingers, causing the script to vanish. The shadow nodded, blending back into a wall for you to step through.
Upon reappearing, you assumed the form of a taller shadow. The room surrounded by guests revealed Vox, Velvet, Alastor, and Carmilla standing in the middle. Zestial, seemingly composed, stood close behind Carmilla, observing the situation. Carmilla appeared visibly upset, with Velvet in proximity, a pointed finger dropping as soon as she noticed your arrival. Alastor maintained his usual wide smile, though it bordered on the eerie, revealing a glimpse of his gums. The scene unfolded, presenting a potential challenge to the serene atmosphere you aimed to maintain during the gala.
Everyone seemed to stop, slowly turning toward you to see your face. Except there was no expression, just the large shadow you had taken form of. In seconds the shadow disappeared, leaving you in the fog, the expression on your face anything but calm.
"Madame I-" Velvet began, but her words were halted by the sight of your lace glove, your hand rising to silence her. Approaching the overlords, you spoke with an air of cold authority.
"My quarters. Now," you commanded, and with a snap of your fingers, smoke enveloped your spot as you vanished. Shadows materialized around the overlords, guiding them to your quarters, leaving the stunned guests in the lobby.
"Well, that was interesting," Valentino remarked.
In your study, the overlords found you seated in your tall, black chair. Its ebony surface featured intricate carvings of black glass, elegant swirls, and patterns tailored to your essence, creating an atmosphere of undeniable authority and refinement.
"I hope you all had fun acting like children," you chided sternly. The overlords lined up, forming a unified front. Leaning against the right side of your chair, you crossed your legs, elbow on the armrest, pinching the bridge of your nose with a sigh. Annoyance laced your words as you questioned, "What did you feel the need to argue about now?" Before Velvet, Vox, and Carmilla could respond simultaneously, you halted them. "One at a time. I'd assume you all handle this like adults, if you even can." The tension in the room hung thick as the overlords awaited their turn to address your inquiry.
“She wants me at her table Vaggie! Me!” Charlotte said excitedly. Vagatha just smiled.
“That’s good! Now you can tell them about the hotel, and maybe someone will be interested.” Vagatha said, and Charlotte just nodded.
“Maybe they-“ Charlotte stopped, observing as people began to crowd around the center of the lobby. Charlotte and Vagatha stood from their spots at the bar to walk toward the center, where the overlords stood. Velvet and Vox were next to each other, while Carmilla, Alastor and Zestial were across. Carmilla and Velvet were face to face. “What’s going on?” Charlotte asked as Vagatha and her pushed their way through the crowds of people.
“Come on, Carmilla, always the mood-killer,” Velvet scoffed, a disrespectful tone tainting her words. Carmilla shot her a stern look, ready to assert her authority.
“Watch that tongue, Velvet. I will not let your insolence slide,” Carmilla retorted, attempting to rein in the escalating tension.
Vox, ever the smooth talker, chimed in, “Ladies, ladies, let’s not turn this into a drama fest. We’re all here for a reason.” Vox said, sternly giving a tight lipped smile to Velvet, silently telling her to keep her shit together.
Carmilla shot a glare at Velvet, who replied with a defiant smirk, “Drama or not, Vox, some of us aren’t here for the ballroom charm.”
Alastor, drawn to the brewing chaos, couldn’t resist adding his flair, “Well, well, a bit of spice never hurt a party, does it?”
Carmilla, unfazed by the chaos, spoke with a calm authority, “Velvet, your insolence is unnecessary. This is not a playground; it’s a gathering of overlords. Act accordingly.”
Velvet, seemingly undeterred, shot back with a dismissive laugh, “Poor Grandma, always trying to play the responsible one. Maybe loosen up a bit? Have a drink will you?”
Vox, ever the smooth talker, added with a slick comment, “Perhaps we can focus on the matters at hand. Save the theatrics for later ladies.”
Alastor, intrigued by the unfolding drama, simply grinned, “Oh the picture box has spoken! Quite intriguing.” The room continued to buzz with tension as each overlord, except Rosie, added their own flavor to the brewing turmoil. As the tension thickened, Vox, with a sly grin, couldn't resist adding his own slick comment to the mix.
"Ah, Alastor, the radio days were quaint, but it seems you're a bit outdated. Television is the future, perhaps you should tune in sometime," he quipped with a wink, the words delivered with a calculated smoothness. The room momentarily hung in a charged silence before the verbal sparring resumed, adding another layer to the complex interplay of personalities at the gala.
With Vox's comment about Alastor being outdated sinking in, the radio demon responded with a sly grin, sharp teeth on display, his eyes displays dials, as the rooms lights began to deepen, "Ah, Vox, your television endeavors are impressive, but remember, I'm not just audible; I'm unforgettable. A little screen time won't change that," he retorted, “This face was made for radio.” He said with a grin, tilting his head to the side, a sharp snap in his neck, his words carrying a mix of amusement and confidence. The verbal exchange between the two overlords added another layer to the already charged atmosphere, each comment becoming a piece in the intricate puzzle of conflicts and egos at the gala.
“See what you did grandma, now you’ve got the two of them fighting.” Velvet said, pointing a finger into Carmella’s chest. She scoffed, shoving her away.
“Don’t you dare get disrespectful on me you brat.” Carmilla said, beginning to heat up with anger.
That's when Madame stepped in, reappearing in the form of a taller shadow, casting a lengthened silhouette in the room brimming with guests. Vox, Velvet, Alastor, and Carmilla found themselves at the center of the unfolding tableau, and Zestial, seemingly composed, lingered just behind Carmilla, quietly observing the escalating drama. Carmilla's visage betrayed a hint of distress, her pointed finger lowering as she registered your reappearance. Alastor, with his trademark grin, bordered on eerie, revealing a glimpse of his gums. The unfolding scene disrupted the serene atmosphere you had meticulously aimed to maintain during the gala, presenting an unexpected challenge.
A hush fell over the room as everyone turned their gaze toward you, anticipating your reaction. However, your face remained expressionless, concealed within the depths of the large shadow you had taken form of. In mere seconds, the shadow dissipated, leaving you in a misty veil. Yet, beneath the calm exterior, a storm brewed, ready to challenge the delicate balance of the evening.
Now, here you all were, sitting in the study after Carmilla had explained the situation.
“Madame, with all due respect,” Carmilla spoke, looking down. “I truly do not believe Velvet is mature enough to be at our table tonight.” Carmilla said.
“Are you questioning my judgment?” You asked sharply, to which Carmilla stiffened quickly, shaking her head then.
”No Madame, I would never-“
“Then do not say foolish things.” You said. Sighing, you shut your eyes, feeling the weight of the situation. Tonight sensitive information would be revealed and Carmilla did have some point here. Velvet clearly could not hold her tongue.
”Vox, control your associate please, or you both will be cut from the dinner tonight.” You said finally, to which he nodded nervously.
“Of course Madame.” He said, nodding to you.
“I wasn’t finished.” You said, looking to Alastor.
“I want none of this technology talk either.” You spoke, staring at Alastor who just smiled with lidded eyes. You knew he was very much upset, but you had forbidden anyone to fight in your home, anyone but you of course. “You all will act like mature adults wether you like it or not. I am not your guardian, I should not be having this conversation with overlords who should know better.” You said, standing. ”Now, all of you, out.” You said, snapping your fingers. Quickly the shadows began to move, ushering everyone out of your study. Everyone except Carmilla. “Not you.” You said to her, Zestial nodding to you and her as he stepped out, giving you both privacy.
“Madame, I didn’t mean what I said-“ Carmilla said quickly. You waved her off, straightening yourself out.
“Nonsense Carmilla, I know you meant well.” You said with a stoic expression. You sit back down, crossing your legs and snapping your fingers to form a chair in front of your desk, ushering her to sit. “I wanted to speak to you about your weapons.” You stated. At this her eyes went wide, before dropping again.
“Oh, very well then. What would you like to know?” She asked. You grinned, before standing again.
“Well, how much would I need to give you for you to make me a personal bayonet?” You asked. She went silent for a moment, before answering.
“Nothing at all Madame.” She said, standing to look at you. “May I ask what for?” She questioned. You shook your head.
“No, just to have on display. I want a new one, the old one I have is quite out of style for me.” You replied. She just nodded, before you waved to her, sitting back down and summoning a script again. “You may go now, and please, do not argue with children.” You commented. She just smiled and nodded, leaving you to your own vices.
It was half-past eleven, five minutes till the midnight bells chime. Everyone in the lobby was beginning to get excited for the entertainment you had planned for the night. Oh, you knew you would not disappoint.
“Madame would like everyone to accompany her on a journey tonight. She has sent me to retrieve you all. She would like to formally welcome you to tonight’s entertainment.” The large shadow said, standing from the topic of the stairs. Behind it was a large portal. It stepped backwards, into the portal, and nodded for the guests to start coming through.
The custom-built coliseum stands as a testament to Madame's vision, a grand fusion of opulence and dark elegance. The circular structure boasts towering columns, but instead of conventional pillars, thick chains rise, intricately linked and serving as both ornamental decor and structural support. The arches, molded in black, curve gracefully around the circumference, evoking a Victorian Gothic aesthetic that permeates the entire venue.
Two larger-than-life statues of Madame herself flank the entrance, capturing her regal poise and adding a touch of imposing authority. The statues serve not only as decorative elements but as a representation of the gala's hostess, a constant presence overseeing the proceedings, she is always watching, all seeing, perfection.
The overall ambiance is one of grandeur and mystery, with the black molding on the arches casting shadows that play into the darker undertones. Every intricate detail, from the chains to the statues, contributes to the unique Victorian Gothic feel of the coliseum, matching Madame’s home perfectly, matching her perfectly. The venue, finally being unveiled to the guests, now welcomes them who are treated to an appetizer course, surrounded by the striking architecture and entertained within the darkly enchanting atmosphere Madame has meticulously crafted.
Numerous shadows, dark and formless, line the entrance walls, extending silent greetings to the arriving guests. Their presence adds an air of mystique and intrigue as they blend seamlessly with the Gothic architecture. As attendees make their way into the coliseum, these shadowy figures create an ethereal welcome, embodying the unique atmosphere of Madame's custom-built venue.
At a separate entrance reserved for the handpicked members of Madame's esteemed dinner table, a solitary shadow stands guard. This entrance, reserved for a select few, hints at the exclusivity and importance of those who will partake in the upcoming dinner. The shadowy sentinels serve not only as silent greeters but also as guardians of the event's secrets, casting an enigmatic allure over the gala.
A singular shadows escorts Charlotte, Alastor, and the rest of the overlords to the exclusive section, leading them to an elevator to bring them to the best seats in the coliseum. The elevator’s interior is a striking display of elegance, with white and black checkered flooring lending a timeless touch. The walls, enveloped in darkness, exude an air of mystery, while black, smokey glass engravings on the ceiling add intricate detailing that dances in the ambient light. Each number on the elevator, indicating the ascending levels, glows a vibrant red, creating a vivid contrast against the monochrome palette.
“Oh I’m so excited! What do you think we’re gonna see? Gladiators? Sinners fight? Oh actually I hope not, I don’t want people to die.” Charlotte said to Alastor. Carmilla just chuckled at her antics while Zestial eyed her with curiosity. Where did Alastor find such a girl and why the princess of all people?
The elevator stops at the top floor, revealing the opening in the middle, which was surprisingly covered with water.
“What is Madame playing at?” Carmilla questioned as the overlords sat in a row at the top. From there they could see everything and everyone.
“I am quite uncertain, yet my anticipation is stirred nonetheless.” Zestial said. The lights around began to dim, and shadows began to pour glasses of water in front of all the guests. Down in the middle of the coliseum was the tallest shadow, the one that seemed to be Madame’s favorite, since it always spoke for her.
“Greetings all. It is Madame’s pleasure to invite you all to the special entertainment tonight. Madame has put together some of hell’s finest performers for your entertainment tonight. I would like to present, preforming here tonight, The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra preforming Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61.” The shadow said with a bow, before it vanished just as quick as it came. Then, other shadows appeared, but this time they were different. They were people, performers, with clear outlined silhouettes, faces and expressions, even clothes.
“Hey, Al?” Charlotte asked, leaning over in her seat to Alastor. He let out a ‘hm?’ In response.
“Does Madame own those souls down there?” Charlotte whispered, but before Alastor could answer, a shadow had already cut in.
“Yes. All the shadows here, even yours, Madame owns.” The shadow said quietly, filling Charlotte’s glass cup with water. Charlotte nervously, perked up, but said nothing as she shadow carried on with it’s catering.
The ethereal notes of the music filled the air as the performance unfolded. Around the musicians stood ballet dancers, their movements a delicate poetry in motion. Clad in all black, the performers created a stark contrast to the dancers, who emerged with an otherworldly grace akin to figures rising from the depths of water. The dancers moved with an angelic fluidity, their forms intertwining seamlessly with the haunting melody, creating a mesmerizing tableau that captivated the audience. The visual symphony of black-clad musicians and the whisky-hued ballet dancers painted a scene of enchantment and mystery within the grand coliseum. Even down to the dancers, this had Madame written all over it.
Velvet's keen eye captured the essence of the dancers' ethereal movements on paper. With each stroke of her sketch, she depicted the dancers as if emerging from a watery abyss, the fog enveloping their feet creating an illusion of water flowing upward. The intricate details on her sketch paper brought to life the dancers' graceful forms, their figures seemingly intertwined with the rising mist, evoking the enchantment of a waterspout captured in a moment of sublime artistry. Velvet's artistic interpretation added a layer of depth to the performance, transforming the ephemeral dance into a tangible and captivating visual narrative.
Water had begun to swirl, the dancers moving around it, the water getting taller and taller, similar to the way it had when you had first made your entrance at the beginning of the Gala. Now, it was water, and from Charlotte’s seat, she had struggled to make out what was going on. She turned to Alastor to see him holding a pair of opera glasses in his hand. Without you having to ask, he tapped the armrest of her seat. Charlotte turned to the side to see a pair tucked neatly against the front of the armrest. She grabbed them quickly, before looking through them and at the waterspout now forming in the middle. Her jaw flew open, as well as the loud screech of Alastor’s track playing. Vox had short circuited, and Carmilla gasped loudly. Velvet stood silent, but there was evident confusion on her face, while Zestial sunk into his seat, conflicting emotions flowing through him.
“Madame- she’s-“ Charlotte stuttered, and Alastor nodded, swallowing thickly.
“With an exorcist. I know.”

The cool air that sweeps over your skin once you board the train feels like a gentle splash of water on a sweltering summer day. The sudden temperature change sends a shiver down your sweat-slick back, the hair on your arms standing on end in sharp relief. You press a hand to your chest, feeling the drumming of your heart against it.
You almost hadn't made it.
Everything had gone awry from the moment your alarm went off. First, you'd snoozed the clock. Half an hour later, your eyes snapped open, the horizon that'd just started to blush with the first hint of dawn giving way to a vibrant, limpid morning blue.
Shit.
You had called a cab while you were hastily getting ready, brushing your teeth, washing your face, only for it to arrive within 5 minutes. Five.
With the honking outside, you quickly threw on the first piece of clothing you found.
As you sat in the car, deliberately ignoring the driver's heated glare through the rearview mirror, you'd patted down your crinkled dress before crossing your legs, and realized—
You've got no knickers on. Double shit.
Whatever. It'll be fine. You were taking an overnight train across the country and even got yourself a private little room to sleep in. All would be well. But you had to get there first and boarding would start in 15 minutes.
Navigating through the aimless crowd of people had been excruciating. Children weaving in and out coupled with elderly folk stopping to chat up their friends with zero regard for foot traffic. Agony.
(You're fully aware that no one is at fault here but yourself.)
Almost hadn't made it but almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
Your heartbeat's still pounding in your ears as you walk down the narrow aisle, arms burning with the weight of your luggage bag and the tote slung around your shoulder. The thought of settling into your cabin and finally taking a breather propels you forward, albeit sluggishly.
The metronomic clatter of the wheels on the tracks smothers that burning sense of urgency you've felt since you woke. Weariness seeps into your bones once your cabin door comes into view. There's no other thought in your head apart from putting your stuff away and getting off your feet as you fumble for the handle.
In your fatigued haze, you hadn't noticed someone already inside. The world, once fuzzy around the edges, sharpens to cutting clarity in your shock. He's a big man. Very big. He looks like he's been carved out of oak— broad and solid. His shoulders are wide, stretching the seams of his shirt. His thick arms are draped along the backrest of the seat. The breadth of his chest— should, probably does— defies anatomy.
He's got legs like tree trunks. And they're sprawled outward, taking up a lot, if not most of the room. There's a bag resting against your seat even though the overhead space is empty. A bulky, grey jacket lays about.
You're tired, not blind. This is definitely the cabin you paid for with your measly income. But you're scared witless at the mere thought of trying to kick him out. He'll eat you. Gnaw your bones with his molars to dust for the offense.
You tug on the ends of the knot that is lodged in your throat, hoping to get some words out, but it only seems to tighten. The man's keen eyes lock onto yours, unblinking. Heavy with a weight that presses down on your back, your shoulders. Even the air itself.
The gentle click of the sliding door shutting behind you has your heart trying to crawl out of your mouth. (Possibly your arse, too, but you're not sure of anything right now, other than you're about to burst into tears because his gaze followed the motions of you shakily hoisting your bag up higher on your shoulder.)
His voice is a deep rumble— rich and resounding. You swear you could feel the air vibrate as he spoke.
"Sit down 'fore ya hurt yourself." It startles you into action, like a starter's pistol before a swim race. Quickly rising to the tips of your toes, you put your luggage bag away, giving it a couple of smacks to push it all the way back.
You mumble out a garbled 'scuse me as you traipse past his outstretched legs, carefully stepping over them, only to brush against his knee. You flinch, he doesn't.
"Sorry." Heat blooms beneath your cheeks. Embarrassing. You shove your tote into a little corner, its humble size dwarfed by his frame. With trembling fingers, you pull the back of your—very thin, now that you think about it— dress down, trying to compose yourself, before taking a seat.
Directly in front of him.
And he's still staring. Vaguely, you wonder if he can see your fluttering pulse beneath the delicate skin of your neck.
There's a lot of people on the train. That unbearably long line you had to stand in to board it was the proof. Yet it's unnervingly silent. Not one distant tinkle of laughter. No gentle hum of murmured conversation. Clinking of spoons against coffee cups.
Just a sharp, high-pitched whistle of the wind outside the window. Even he isn't making a sound. No rustling of clothes, no shifting around. Motionless.
You nervously grab at the skirt of your dress, clammy fingers curling, fabric bunching within your tightened fist, white staining your knuckles. The hem of your dress is frayed, like your nerves at this moment.
Oh no.
You flash your eyes to the guy's face but he's no longer paying attention to you. He's now looking straight at the apex of your legs. Your very naked apex. Amusement dances across his rugged features. His ash-blonde eyebrows quirking slightly, corner of his thin-lipped mouth curling.
The room tilts slightly, a dizzying sensation that leaves you momentarily unbalanced. Mortification pricks at your nerves, gathers in the corners of your eyes, threatening to spill. An ear-grating squeak escapes past your clenched teeth as you jerkily tug down the skirt, the hem settling against your shins.
A tiny hiccup punctuates the moment.
His mud-caked boot taps the outside of your foot, demanding your attention. "Now, now. Nothin' to be ashamed of, birdy," he grunts. Then, with casual ease, he slides it in between yours, this time nudging the inside of them.
A recognizable gesture.
Open up.
(there's no getting a staff member to remove him. they're all half his size. and can he at least shut the blinds on the window????)

Inspired by the writings of F. Scott Fitzgerald

"Do you think I ought to bob my hair, Alastor?" Y/N asked the distinguished demon by her side as they shared a few drinks at the hotel's bar. Husk busied himself by wiping some glasses, refraining from rolling his eyes as the pair continued with this back-and-forth.
"I'd look rather darling with such a hairstyle, don't you think?"
"An absolute dream, my dear," Alastor responded, regarding her more intently than usual.
He wasn't sure what it was, but something about her was especially vivacious that night. Perhaps it was the way she seemed to make a bit of effort to be on his level for the dinner-dance the hotel was hosting to celebrate its grand re-opening. Like with many of the antics that go on in the place, Alastor stood passively by, subtly scaring those who came close to him.
Then he spotted her.
He liked how becoming the dark red dress she wore was and how It set off her unnaturally shadowy eyes. Let's not forget about the way her hair glistened so! It was almost like the stars were woven into it.
"You know, back when I was alive, having such a hairstyle would be considered immoral, sinful," Alastor remarked, shamelessly reaching out to twirl a few strands of her hair around his sharp nails. "It was a sure and easy way to attract certain attention."
She took in the way his eyes floated towards hers, but not before making their way up slowly from her legs. Had he been anyone else, she would've disregarded his remark with a brutal slap (perhaps with something worse if she were in the mood). But this was the Radio Demon she was speaking with.
She knew she had him right where she wanted him the moment she stepped in. If her attire hadn't drawn him in, then it was definitely all the attention she gathered from the other party guests who would offer to dance with her. Each one that would head her way with enthusiastic determination would have Alastor's eye twitch before he finally decided it was his turn to cut in.
After that, she was his and no one else's. After all no one would dare be stupid enough to steal the Radio Demon's dance partner.
"Well, it's a good thing we're in Hell then," Y/N said, going as far as laying a hand on the normally touch-aversed Alastor's knee. In this case, however, a glow settled almost imperceptibly over him.
Their eyes met completely, and they stopped talking entirely as they stared at each other. It wasn't until an irritated voice intruded on their space and made the glow fade away.
"For fuck's sake, will you two just get it on already?!" Angel Dust screeched from the Y/N's other side. "This was amusing for a while, but you've been dancing around each other all night. The party ended hours ago, and you still haven't even kissed yet."
An awkward silence followed this. Alastor looked at Angel, eye twitching once more. He wouldn't understand that a classy lady like Y/N deserved to be wooed properly. She's, no doubt, heard every practiced line known in this side of the Pentagram. And she certainly wouldn't react well to such bold actions like hot kisses and heavy petting.
Alastor opened his mouth to explain as much when Y/N grabbed a hold of his face and placed a big kiss on his lips. He would've been more shocked had it not felt like such blissful oblivion. It was better than any glass of rye he had ever drank. He kept a stronghold of her, his claws piercing the small of her back while his other hand took hold of her hair.
They eventually released one another, going back to looking at each other.
"Forgive me," she managed to say between heavy breaths. She kept her bold smile on as well as a tight grip on his lapel. "You've got an awfully kissable mouth."
And with that, the glow returned along with a desire to finish this upstairs.
"About fucking time," Husk uttered, watching with Angel the way Alastor dragged a giddy Y/N to his room.

you were excited when you first moved into your new home. it would be the first time you lived alone in your entire life. you loved the house you bought. it was old, ancestral and just perfect for you, right on the edge of town where it was the perfect mix of loud and quiet.
once you were all moved in, you were excited for your best friend, mary, to come over and see it. you had spent all day decorating and organizing, so the house felt like ‘home’ to you. the house had felt so welcoming to you, so you wanted it to feel welcoming to mary as well.
just as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the new neighbourhood. mary arrived at your doorstep, excitement radiating from her whole body.
you greeted mary with a broad smile, happy to have your best friend over for the first time, “mary! i’m so glad you’re here!” mary’s hair was as long as ever as it stopped right above her hips. The few beauty moles she had around her eyes and cheekbones gleamed out at you.
mary’s eyes crinkled as she smiled hard at you, “me too, y/n! let me see this house you bought then!”
you beckoned your friend into your house, wanting her to follow you as you led the way through the new halls adorned with antique furniture and delicate wallpaper that was left behind for decades. you ascended the sweeping staircase, your footsteps bouncing off of the walls.
“girl, this house is like a time capsule!” mary remarked from behind you, her voice and eyes filled with wonder and curiosity. “where’d you even find it?”
you shrugged as you showed room by room, “just online. it was cheap– i guess because it’s so old.”
“how old?”
“really old.” you both laughed, “so old that i can’t get a door to budge open.” you glanced down to the last door at the end of the long hallway.
“really?” mary’s head tilted.
“yeah, the one on the very end there, with the faded floral patterns.” mary walked past you to the door and stopped in front of it. “i’ve tried for a few days now, even one of the movers couldn’t get it to budge. he said something about the hinges being rusted down.”
“let me try,” mary declared, her delicate hand reached out to the ornate brass doorknob you had tried to turn for hours.
as she turned the doorknob, the door swung open easily. too easily.
“hey, what?” you exclaimed, moving closer to see it better for yourself, “how did you do that?”
mary shrugged with a concerned look on her face, “i don’t know. i just opened it.”
“what the hell, i’ve been trying for days, mary!”
mary chuckled, “well, let’s see what’s up there then.” she pointed inside the newly opened door which reveals a narrow flight of stairs leading to an attic. “an attic filled with mysteries.” mary said in a fake scary voice.
mary let you go in first, climbing up the creaky, dusty steps, anticipation building with every reak and moan from the old house. the air grew thick with dust, swirling around them like ethereal spirits. both of your eyes widened at the sight before you at the top of the stairs. the space was illuminated by a single beam of light filtering through a small window. it cast long shadows on the faded wallpaper and illuminated the forgotten items from the previous owners.
“there is so much shit up here,” mary said beside you; both of you were standing still and taking in the scattered items spread about. she stepped around you, brushing off the layer of dust from an old trunk. she ran her fingers over the tarnished lock, contemplating what lay inside, “shall we see what’s in box number one?”
your eyes sparkled with anticipation, “absolutely.”
with a click, mary opened the trunk, revealing a trove of memories. it was full of sepia-toned photographs, delicate lace gloves and a journal with yellowed pages.
“look at this photograph,” mary showed you, holding up an image of a young couple embracing, looking madly in love. you peered over her shoulder, a wistful smile spreading across your lips as you looked at the pair.
mary continued to skim through the first box as you stood straight again. your eyes scanned your new attic, and you felt your heart skip when you noticed a dusty, wooden box tucked away in the corner. you walked towards it, your hands starting to tremble for no reason.
you could hear mary shifting with excitement as she found something new in her box, but you were too interested in the box in the corner in front of you. you knelt on the floor, your hands traced the chest, feeling some magnetic pull to it strangely.
you carefully opened the box, revealing an ancient wooden board intricately carved with symbols and letters. you realized that it was a ouijia board. its surface adorned with faded letters and a small wooden planchette.
mary gasped behind you, her eyes widening with awe and caution, “y/n, isn’t that a ouija board?”
you nodded, your voice filled with wonder and uncertainty, “yeah, i think so. i wonder why it’s been left up here, ya know, because they’re like a window to the other realm, right?”
the two of you exchanged a nervous glance before mary spoke again, her voice barely audible, “what do you say, y/n? should we use it? break in your new house?”
you hesitated, your mind starting to understand the fear that this board could evoke, “i don’t know, mary. it’s risky. what if we unleash something?”
mary placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder, “we’ll be careful. we won’t stay for long. we’ll just ask a few harmless questions, and if things get weird, we’ll stop, okay?”
you sighed but slowly nod, “alright, we can try it. who knows, it might not even work.”
“probably not, but it’ll be fun to try.”
you and mary gathered around your kitchen table, the ouija board spread out before you. soft candlelight flickered, casting eerie shadows on the walls.
you hesitated, your two fingers trembling as they hovered above the planchette, “are you sure about this mary? i have a bad feeling.”
mary’s voice was pure excitement, “we’ll be fine y/n, just a couple of questions, ok?”
they placed their fingers lightly on the planchette, their anticipation growing with each passing moment. the room seemed to hold its breath, awaiting their next move.
“is there anyone here with us?” mary asked, her voice confident, waiting for a response from the other side. but as minuted passed by, the ouija board remained still, its surface unyielding to their inquiries.
“maybe it’s not going to work, mary.” you said with a tinge of disappointment.
mary sighed, defeated and regretful, “i guess you’re right. i shouldn’t have gotten my hopes up too high.”
just as you two were about to lift your hands from the planchette, a sudden chill filled the air, causing both of you to shiver. you exchanged a puzzled look with mary as your attention was drawn back to the ouija board. slowly but surely, the planchette began to move, gliding across the board’s surface with an eerie certainty.
your eyes widened, your heart pounding in your chest, “uh mary, it’s moving.”
“i know,” mary replied in disbelief as the planchette stopped over “YES”. “oh my god.”
“oh my god,” you repeated, “that wasn’t you?”
“no! was it you?”
you shook your head, “definitely not.” with your body scared to the bone, mary let out a laugh, “what’s so funny?”
“nothing! nothing.” mary waved her free hand, “just, this is going to be so fun.”
you sighed, “just, be careful, alright? i don’t need my new house to be haunted or something.”
mary agreed and then asked again in her confident voice, “who are we speaking to?”
again, your eyes widened in disbelief as the planchette spelled out a name, letter by letter.
H– E– E– S– E– U– N– G.
“heeseung?” mary repeated, her voice filled with confusion, “who’s heeseung?”
your brows furrowed, trying to think if you know anyone by that name, “i don’t know mary, i’ve never heard that name before. it could just be a random spirit trying to communicate with us.”
mary shrugged and continued, “what do you want, heeseung?”
the planchette moves then, their fingers still atop as it spelled out the next word.
H– E– L– P.
you exchanged concerned glances with your friend across the table. the atmosphere in the kitchen growing heavy and gold with the unexplained presence.
“h-how can we help you?” mary asked the board.
I– N– C– U– B– U– S.
“what the hell’s does incubus mean?” you asked your friend.
“isn’t that like, a sex demon?” mary said, stifling a laugh.
“a sex demon?” you repeated, tilting your head in confusion.
“yeah, seems like someone’s horny in the afterlife.” mary jokes, making you bite your lip to stifle your own laugh.
before either of you could speak again again, the planchette started moving, dragging your fingers along with it.
N– A– M– E.
“name?” mary said out loud, “say your name.”
“what, why me?”
“because it’s your house, and we found this thing upstairs.”
you sighed before stating, “y/n.”
you expected the planchette to move again so the spirit could reply, but instead the small kitchen window above the sink swung open, letting the wind from outside enter roughly. the cold gust of wind blows out all the candles, plunging your kitchen into darkness besides the lone street lamp outside. a low guttural growl resonated through the air, sending shivers down your spines.
“jesus!” you jumped up, your hands leaving the board as you get up and close the window that was hitting the wall now. mary followed you, but turns on the kitchen light instead. “what was that?”
“i don’t know, wind.” mary said with a sarcastic tone, “it’s fine.”
“what? you weren’t scared by that?” you asked your friend curiously.
mary shrugged again, “i mean, you felt how rough the wind was, and this house is old. it makes sense that the window would open like that.”
you stared at your friend in disbelief, your hand stayed on your chest as you tried to slow your breathing. mary started grabbing her belongings, slipping her bag over her shoulder, oh so chalantly as you felt petrified from the events that occurred only a minute ago.
“so are you taking that thing home?” you asked mary, referring to the board that sits still on the table.
“what, no?” mary replied with a crinkle of her nose.
“but why not? you’re the one who likes these kinds of things.”
“well yeah, but we found it here. and god knows how long it’s been here, i wouldn’t want to upset it.”
“upset what?” your eyes widened in fear.
mary only laughed at your expression as she came over to you, her hands rubbing your shoulders as you face each other. “y/n, calm down, nothing even happened! we spoke to a spirit for five seconds and then the wind blew open the window. just put the board back in the attic and go to bed.”
you sighed at your friend, dreading to go back up into the attic once she’s gone.
“i’ll see you later, alright?” mary said as she stands on your porch with a smile, “nothing’s gonna happen so just enjoy your new house.”
you told your friend to have a goodnight before going around and making sure every door and windowwaslocked for the night, keeping all the lights on as you do so. when the time comes for you to put the board in the attic, you closed your eyes and placed it on the closest box to the stairs before turning and bolting down the stairs, slamming the floral door shut behind you. you wished the door would have never opened in the first place as you slide into bed, scared for the first time in your new house.
Tumblr media
you were only able to sleep for a few hours before you were awoken suddenly. your body jolted awake as you sat up in your bed. your chest heaved heavily as you looked around your bedroom, but ultimately saw nothing.
you brushed a hand through your wild hair, mentally laughing at how scared you truly were. when you stretch out, ready for bed again you realized how damp your panties were and you wondered if you were having a wet dream of some sort that woke you up, but couldn’t seem to remember anything.
when you started to lay down again, figuring that it must be around 3am and you needed to go to sleep, you heard a creak from the other side of your room. you instinctively turned your body to face the corner, but again, nothings there. you told yourself that it’s just the old house, but for some reason you couldn’t get rid of the feeling that it’s something more.
one more time, you started to move your pillows so you could go back to sleep, but you heard a creak again from the same spot in the dark corner of your room. your eyes widened at the spot, suspecting to see something or someone other than the wall and darkness, and were about to go mad when you see nothing again. you smiled to yourself. thinking about how crazy you must truly look if anyone was here with you.
“looking for me?” a man’s voice spoke from the otherside of you. you could barely see the person before you were screaming, crawling backwards to the other side of your bed to get away from the voice. “hey, hey, it’s okay, shh.”
“no! who are you!” you cried out, your body shaking with fear.
“c’mon, y/n.” the man tsked at you, “you know who i am.”
“no! i don’t! please! just leave me alone! please!” you started crying, tears running down your face in an instant from pure fear, not knowing what this man was going to do with you.
“y/n, say my name.” his voice was stern, but playful as he speaks to you.
“i don’t know you’re name! and i don’t know how you know me! please! please! don’t hurt me!”
the man sighed, “fine.” he lifted his pale hand and snapped his fingers. instantly the tears brimming your eyes were gone, but your cheeks were still wet from the previous ones. your breaths calm and your body stopped shaking. your mind went clear, even though the deep, inner voice of yours was still screaming for help. “i didn’t want to have to do that, but you need to listen to me and calm down.”
your eyes snapped to the man, wanting to scream but can’t from the peacefulness taking over your body. you could actually examine the man now. he was tall and lean, he exudes an otherworldly charm that seemed to fascinate and terrify you. his hair was jet-black and falls over his eyes, yet frames his face that was carved in the moonlight that enters your bedroom.
your heart was racing, but was slowing down the more deep breaths you take. his eyes were dark brown as they stare back at you.
“who are you?” you voice was steady when you speak, which surprised yourself. “what did you do to me?”
his voice was smooth and melodic when he spoke again, “you know who i am.”
“i don’t.”
“you do,” the man sat on your bed, hands grabbing your shoulders so you look right at him, “think y/n. who am i?”
you were about to shake your head no, but suddenly there were flashes in your head. the man sitting in front of you, laying in your bed, smirking up at you as you hover a top of him. a flash of him laying shirtless and having abs that make you want to marvel at him for hours. and the final flash of him throwing his head back, letting out a moan of your name.
“heeseung.” you stated, your eyes widening in realization and fear, but your body refused to act the way you’re feeling deep down, like you’re stuck.
the man, heeseung, smiled slyly as you say his name, “there you go, good girl.”
“how- what?” you questioned, wondering how you knew this man in front of you was heeseung, the spirit you contacted earlier through the board and how did you get those, those memories of him.
his smirk grew deeper on his face, “i gave you a nice dream before i made you wake up, i thought you’d like it.”
you think more about the dream he must’ve given you, and pushed away the thought that crosses your mind of how you wish the dream would have lasted longer. there’s a whole demon sitting in front of you, and you can’t seem to react the way you want to, just placed frozen on your bed.
“what do you want, heeseung?” you asked him, your voice almost monotone, but really wanting to scream.
a tantalizing smile curled onto his heeseung’s lips before he speaks, “you.”
the voice in the back of your head screamed louder, wishing to get away from him, but yet you stay still, “why me?”
heeseung grabbed your hand in his, his skin cold against your own. you felt disgusted as he touches you, but lean your hand into his. “because you summoned me and set me free. and now, i need to fulfill my duties.”
you wanted to scream, but you couldn’t. you were trapped still on your bed with a demon holding your hand. and all you could do was sit there, expressionless. “what- what did you do to me?”
heeseung retracted his hand, “i’m sorry, i had to so you would listen, i can make it stop.”
“please.” your begging word came out monotone.
“i will. but first you need to understand how you’ve summoned me to fulfill my duty as a worker of the underworld. can you listen?”
you nodded slowly, wanting to understand more about this demon and how the hell he’s ended up beside you.
“i’m an incubus. and the main part of my duty is to pleasure women, sexually. and i can do that for you, y/n. i can sense that you’ve never properly been pleasured,” heeseung’s hand pushed your hair behind your ear and you struggled to not shiver at the contact, “i can make you feel good.”
you gulped as you dare to look heeseung in the eyes. you noticed the way his dark eyes glint in the moonlight and how his jawwasheld tonight as he smirked at you. you hated yourself for thinking how attractive he would be if he was a human. “how would you know?”
heeseung almost let out a laugh at how naive you are, but he found it charming at the same time, “because i am a demon y/n. i’m forever trapped between realms for my actions i did as a human. and for that, i’m forever yearning for a taste of the forbidden. and you, y/n, have summoned me and are now my object of fascination. i can make you feel good, i know you want me to.”
“no, i don’t.” you speak, trying to defend yourself from the demon.
heeseung tsked, “as an incubus i can appear as anyone that the woman so desires. i’ve appeared as many celebrities, ex-boyfriends, random strangers the woman has seen on the street. but for you, you desire me.”
you avoided heeseung’s stare now, nervousness wanting to spread all over your body as he calls you out. you’re sure that if you weren’t under this trance of his your breathing would be rapid and you’d be fidgeting.
you felt heeseung’s hand slither to your jaw, turning to your face gently to look at him, “just say the word y/n, and you can have me.” his melodic voice was in a whisper as he was mere inches away from your face, “just tell me you want me.”
you could feel your heart pounding in your chest even though the rest of you remained in an unwelcome calm. a magnetic pull between you and heeseung has somehow grown too strong to resist in the few minutes he has sat in front of you.
with trembling lips, you looked into heeseung’ captivating eyes, swirling with a seductive and darkness glaze, and a surge of boldness coursed through your veins as you give voice to your deepest desire.
“i want you.”
heeseung’s enigmatic smirk widened, a flicker of satisfaction danced on his face. it was as if your confession had unlocked a doorway to a realm where pleasure and danger intertwined.
he leaned closer, his breath caressing your lips before they were pushed onto yours. heeseung’s fingers snap in your ear, and suddenly you’re overcome with so many, too many emotions all at once : fear, lust, nervousness, curiosity.
in your dimly lit room, with your lips pressed together with a demon’s you know you should’ve pulled away and ran, but there was a dark lust inside of you. curious to see how heeseung could have pulled you in so quick with his words. a surge of electricity coursed through your body, feeling a connection with heeseung deepening. the kiss ignited a fire within you, a flame that seemed to consume all over her overbearing emotions.
heeseung’s lips were soft, yet demanding, drawing you further into a world where pleasure and danger danced perfectly together. it seemed like both of your desires intertwined, blurring the line between terror and passion.
time seemed to stand still as you deepened his kiss. your mouths moving in perfect synchrony as if you’ve kissed one million times before.
as heeseung pulled away, your eyes locked, your heavy breaths mingling in the small space between you. heeseung’s hands came up and roughly pushed you down against your bed, your head landing in your pillow. heeseung’s head delved down, sucking and biting immediately onto the sweet spot on your neck. you gasped, arching your back into his chest, wondering how he found the perfect spot so quick.
you could feel heeseung smirk against your skin, “i know all your desires y/n, everything that makes you feel good.” he lifts his head to look into your eyes, “everything that you’ve been deprived of, never having the chance to be perfectly pleasured by someone else.”
you gulped harshly because it’s true. every time you’ve had sex it’s always been disappointing and you’ve never been fully satisfied. your last boyfriends would take charge during sex, and would never give you the room to express what makes you feel good. you’ve tried random hookups with guys at bars or ones you’ve meet on tinder, but they never know how to please you and only take care of themselves.
“i told you,” heeseung pressed a kiss into your cheek, “i’ll make you feel good.” he pressed a kiss into the other, “it’s what you deserve.”
you nodded gently at heeseung’s statement, allowing yourself to fully trust a demon with your body, wanting to taste the pleasure that you do deserve and should have felt before. and for some reason, you didn’t feel any hesitation giving your body to him.
heeseung’s hands started to grope your body, trailing down your sides and massaging your thighs at the end. he grabbed your thighs, pulling them so they bend at your knees and wrap around his waist. his lips were meshing against yours roughly, the way that you’ve always wanted to be kissed. your ex boyfriends were always so gently and sweet, which you could appreciate, but sometimes you just wanted to be taken roughly.
heeseung’s hands pulled up your shirt, letting his flood at your neck as he exposes your breasts to his sight. his hips were grinding into yours as his hands groped your breasts. you could already feel how hard he was in his black pants as he grinded his hips into your core. you could feel your wet panties get wetter with the friction.
heeseung finally pulled off your shirt, taking a break from your lips. “fuck, such perfect tits.” heeseung groaned before he’s putting his lips over your erect nipple. he switched between your breasts, his tongue circulating the nipple in quick motions. you moaned at the cold air brushing against your skin once he pulled it off.
heeseung suddenly pulled your legs straight before pulling down your sleeping shorts so you were left in only your panties. he was then spreading your legs wide as he kneels down between your legs.
“wha-?” your voice was cut off as he pressed his mouth to your wet mound. a moan leaves your lips instantly, never having a man go down on you before.
“fuck, baby, so sensitive already?” heeseung mumbled as he pushes your panties to the side, exposing your pussy to his eyes.
you could only moan again in response as he delves down again, his tongue against your bare pussy now. heeseung moaned as he tastes you, his eyes closing for a brief second to take in your taste. your jaw droppedas you watch him in between your legs, his tongue slipping in and out of his mouth and around your lips.
he made sure to reach every part of your pussy, letting his saliva mix with your own wetness that he’s made.
“that’s so fucking good.” you told him, not missing the smirk on his face when he heard your words.
heeseung then slipped a finger inside of you, instantly finding your g spot. you cried out his name, wanting to tell him to not stop, but you could tell he didn’t plan on it. his free hand finds your breast, taking the nipple in between his fingers.
you felt overwhelmed by him in the best way. his tongue and fingers reaching every pleasure point of your body. you don’t think anyone has ever been able to find everything that makes you feel good before, even your ex boyfriend that you dated for years.
heeseung groaned into your core, losing himself in your taste and walls as his two fingers massage your g spot in circles, “you love the way i play with your pussy, y/n?” his voice was deep when he speaks to you, and it makes you throw your head back into your pillows.
suddenly all of the pleasure heeseung’s been giving you stopped, and before you could complain, a sharp slap hits your wet mound, the wet sound echos into your bedroom walls. “heeseung!”
“i asked you, question.” heeseung dark eyes meet yours through your legs, “answer me or i stop.”
your chest was heaving from the pleasure and shock, “y-yes, i love it.”
heeseung smirked at your answer, “good girl.” before he delved back into your pussy, his fingers fucked into you at ease as his tongue switched between sucking and circling your clit. your body relaxed into the pleasure again, grabbing onto his hand that rests by your chest.
without thinking you pulled his fingers into your mouth, sucking on them instead of letting out the moans you know you can’t control. your actions make heeseung groan against your pussy, the vibration making you suck his fingers harder. your body felt like fire as your tongue circles his fingers like his tongue circles your clit.
your body started to move against your bed, unable to stay still from the pleasure. his fingers dropped from your mouth and landed on your thighs to keep them open. his tongue started to delve deeper into your pussy as his fingers pick up their pace. heeseung keeps groaning against you, loving the way you started to grind back onto his mouth.
you could tell heeseung loved having his tongue and fingers in you, and that only adds to the pleasure you were feeling. loving the fact that a man (whether he’s a demon or not) actually wanted to pleasure you, something you’ve never experienced with your past, selfish partners.
your back arched suddenly off of your bed, the pleasure becoming too much for you to hold back, “fuck, heeseung!” you cried out his name, pushing your pussy farther into his face.
“you gonna cum, angel?” heeseung’s lips mumbled against your clit, his fingers starting to pound into you, rubbing your g spot every time.
“y-yes! please don’t stop! please!” your begging this time was so different from how you were begging him just minutes ago.
“cum for me, y/n. cum all over my fucking face.” heeseung encouraged you, and it was all the took for you to come undone with just a few minutes of him pleasuring you. the feeling was new to you as you had never come undone from someone’s tongue and you wished your high could last longer. a final, high pitch moan left your mouth before you were pushing heeseung away from the sensitivity.
heeseung grunted but pulled away, licking his lips to vanish your juices off of his lips, “fuck, you taste good.” heeseung leaned down and pressed a kiss onto your lower stomach that was heaving with your chest, trying to catch your breath from the orgasm he just gave you.
before you could speak again, heeseung’s hands were sliding under your body and flipping you around onto your hand and knees. your body still felt like mush from your orgasm so he could easily handle you.
you heard heeseung start to unzip his pants, pulling them to reveal his cock. when you turn, wanting to catch sight of it, you gasped. his cock was long and hard. there were veins trailing up the sides that reached the red tip, oozing with precum. his girth will definitely stretch you and you wondered for a second if it’ll even fit inside of you. heeseung caught a glimpse of your concerned face, pressed a hand onto your lower back so your chest and face are against the pillows.
“don’t worry, angel, i’ll be gentle at first.” heeseung speaks to you, massaging your ass cheeks with his hands, trying to calm you in any way that he knows.
heeseung spits down onto your pussy, making you squeak as you felt his spit trickle down your pussy. he spits in his hand and smeared it over his cock, lubing up everything as both of you know he’s definitely the biggest you’ve ever and probably will ever take.
heeseung gave your ass one more smack before he’s pushing his cock into your dripping pussy. your mouth dropped open as you pressed your face into your pillows, feeling your walls stretch so well around him. you were thankful for the orgasm he gave you before, because you’re sure it would’ve hurt more if you weren’t so wet and stretched from his fingers.
once he’s fully inside he stopped, letting you take deep breaths into your pillow as you adjust to his size, “do i fill you up good, y/n?” heeseung asked, massaging the red hand print he’s left on your ass.
“mhm,” you mumbled to him in your pillow, “so good.”
heeseung started to fuck into you then, holding onto your waist as he thrusts from behind. you could feel his hips hit your ass every time his cock was deeply delved into your pussy. you swear you could feel him in your stomach.
“fuck, it’s so big.” you moaned out, your hands clutching your sheets as his cock stretches you out, feeling every inch of your walls, even the parts that have never been touched before.
heeseung aimed for your g spot everytime, the rough patch rubbing against his cock so easily. you wondered how no one has been able to find it before since heeseung has seemed to find it so instinctively.
heeseung’s hands were molding into your ass, grabbing and massaging as he uses it to fuck into you. his own mouth was dropped open as he fucks you, leaning down to kiss your back gently, in complete contrast to how rough he’s fucking your pussy. you felt like you were being ripped open, but you could care less from how good it felt.
heeseung reached around you, wrapping his large hands around your breasts, pulling and tweaking your nipples. you manage to sit up on your knees, pressing your back into his chest as you turned your head to look at him. his eyes that were once brown were now full on black. you could see your own fucked out reflection in them before you were grabbing his head from behind and pulling his lips onto yours. they mesh so well together and you know it should scare you, but it only leaves you wanting more and more.
his cock was lodged so deep inside of you as he fucked up into you at the new angle. your ass was jiggling each time he slams his cock back into you. your tongues were exploring each other’s mouth, tasting each other as his hands keep roaming your body.
at once, you were being pulled away from his lips as he pushed you back down onto the bed. your face in the pillow and your ass up, pussy still gripping onto his cock. he was grabbing your hands from the sheets and pulling them behind your back, locking them in place and using them as a new holder to fuck into you.
heeseung started pulling his cock all the way out of you, before ramming it back in all the way. you could feel his cock hitting your cervix as you cried out his name. “oh fuck, heeseung!”
“yeah, that feel good?” heeseung said, his voice relatively calm, “who’s pussy is this then?”
“yours! fuck, all yours!” you replied instantly, not even thinking about anything else, drunk on the pleasure.
heeseung kept fucking into you as he reached for the hem of his black shirt, pulling it off his head so now he’s completely bare behind you. you turned and graveled at his body. it was pale, and the moonlight seemed to make it glow. you could see sweat starting to form around his faint abs that blended in with his milky skin. his broad shoulders slink into his small waist perfectly. everything about heeseung seemed to be beautiful, and that’s so, so dangerous.
heeseung’s suddenly pulled out of you, making you whine. he chuckled darkly as you, before he flipped you back over onto your back. instinctively you spread your legs for him, just wanting him to be back inside of you. heeseung grabbed one of your legs, putting it up on his shoulder while the other leg wraps around his waist.
he slipped his cock back into you and you both groaned at the new angle. heeseung leaned down and pressed a deep kiss onto your lips briefly.
“open your mouth, let me see your tongue,” he stated and you do as you were told.
heeseung spits into your mouth, making you moan as you swallow. you wondered for a second how he knew that you were into that, but then remember that he was not just a normal man on top of you, he was an incubus, and his duty was to know every single one of your desires. the thought gets pushed away by the pleasure before you could think more of it.
“yeah, you like that? you like being my bitch?” heeseung asked you, his black eyes, almost covered by his eyelids that were closing from his own pleasure.
“i love it! i love it, please.” you replied truthfully. heeseung smiled devilishly at your obedience.
heeseung stopped pounding into you, and you watched him reach over to your nightstand, your embarrassment crawled up into you as you sat up, “wait!” you speak, but it’s too late, heeseung had already pulled out your vibrator, and the devilish grin only grew on his face.
“what?” he tilted your head as he saw the pink on your cheeks, “you don’t think i know how often you use this to pleasure yourself?”
“i- i,” you tried to speak but were too embarrassed and watched him examine the vibrator.
“why can’t we let it join our fun?”
you gulped, new ideas and images of heeseung filling your mind at his suggestion, “we, we can.”
heeseung smirked at you, and you only fall deeper into him as he turned on the vibrator. the noise filling your room as he pressed it into your clit.
“fuck!” you cried out instantly, your pussy was still sensitive from the orgasm before.
it only took a second more before heeseung was shoving his cock back into you, fucking into you so fucking deep as he pressed the vibrator harder and harder against your clit. your hands flied up by your head, pulling at your pillow as you take the pleasure that heeseung was giving you.
only curses leave your mouth as your body began to rave on the pleasure. heeseung’s free hand reached down to your neck, successfully choking you. your eyes rolled to the back of your head uncontrollably.
heeseung was biting, licking and kissing your leg that was hooked onto his shoulder, his eyes watching the pleasure take over you. you had never felt so exposed before, but you wouldn’t want anything else in that exact moment. you love the thought of heeseung just wanting to see you come undone on his cock. like it’s the only thing he’d ever want in this world.
“yes, that’s a good girl, take my fucking cock.” heeseung grunted out to you, his grip on your neck not releasing.
he kept pounding into your, your body began to twitch again, not being able to stay still from all the pleasure and adrenaline running through your body.
heeseung pressed the vibrator into your clit harder, stopping his thrusts with his cock deep inside of you as he bended over and kissed you. his tongue swirling around your mouth. you can’t kiss him back properly as moans just keep falling out of your mouth. so, he sucked one of your fingers into his mouth.
“oh my god,” you let out, watching the handsome man lick and suck around your thumb as he made deep eye contact with you, his cock seeming to hit every inch of your pussy, the veins dragging so perfectly against your wet walls.
“no one’s ever made you feel so good before, right angel?” heeseung asked you, a smirk on his face that dropped quickly when you don’t, when you can’t answer. his hand left your waist and slapped you across your face, “answer me.”
“no! never! only you!” you replied, liking the way the sting felt on your face. the pain just mixed with the pleasure.
heeseung’s hand wrapped around your neck again, squeezing tight as you took his cock. suddenly you can’t take the pleasure anymore, “cum, gonna cum.” you told him.
he released your neck and slapped your face again, slapping both of your cheeks as you started to grind down on his cock as his hips meet your own. the vibrator makes wet squelching noises as it pressed between your pussy lips and clit.
“cum for me, angel, cum all over my cock,” heeseung nodded at you, “wanna feel how tight you get around me when you cum.”
his words set you off again, and your body convulsed as you felt the coil in your stomach snap. all the pleasure taking over your body as you tensed and untensed your limbs, feeling the high make your body and mind melt away. you could do nothing as heeseung continued to pound into you, letting you ride out your high with his cock constantly hitting your g spot.
“that’s it, that’s my good girl.” heeseung groaned out, your tight, wet walls affecting him just as much as he’s affecting you. there was a sense of pride in you as you come down from your high as you watched heeseung struggle to keep his own composure.
he turned off the vibrator and threw it to the side of the bed, almost completely forgotten as he grabbed your legs and pushed them down onto your chest. heeseung was then hovering over top of you, his cock still plunged deep inside.
“fuck,” you let out, his hands gripping the back of your thighs, “you fuck me so well.”
“i know, angel, i told-, told you I would.” heeseung’s voice was getting breathy as he was reaching closer to his high, “want you to cum one more time for me, y/n, please.” his begging voice and eye contact made anything feel possible to you.
heeseung’s fingers slipped down to your sensitive clit, rubbing small circles into it as his pace of his thrusts didn’t slow down.
it only took a few more thrusts before you were hitting your third and final orgasm of the night, the most you had came before. your body felt like it was on a sensitive overdrive as heeseung fucked you through your high. your jaw dropped in a silent scream as your walls tightened around heeseung’s cock for the last time. you could hear heeseung’s groans as he was getting closer and closer to his own orgasm.
“please cum, heeseung, please. wanna see you cum for me,” you begged him, eyes pleading as he held onto your thighs tighter.
“fuck, fuck,” heeseung let out before he ripped his cock out of you. his hand started jerking his hard cock, slippery with your cum and juices. his eyes switched between your swollen pussy and your fucked out face. “y/n, yes!”
you could feel heeseung’s warm cum land on your lower stomach, his grunts mixed with the mentions of your name. you had never thought your name sounded pretty before, but it slipping off of his lips made it seem ethereal.
both of your chests were breathing heavily as heeseung leaned down, meshing his lips onto yours in a messy, but almost passionate way. the passion delved in the kiss stirs something in you, scaring you when you remembered that he’s a demon you’ve accidentally summoned.
you shoot your eyes open at the thought, sitting up in your bed, reality consuming you that you’ve just had sex with a demon.
but when you looked around your room, feeling your lips still tingle from the kiss that was happening just a second ago, you find yourself alone. no one in your room except for you and the moonlight.
then, an almost instantaneous need for sleep started to consume you, and even when you tried to fight it just mere seconds before you pass out, head falling back on the pillow, you fail. your body lays on your bed in a peaceful, innocent manner, so much different than how it was interacting minutes before.
Tumblr media
when you awake again, it’s morning, the moonlight filling your room has changed into midday sunlight. your head felt like it was pounding when you sat up, placing your hand over it for some comfort. you felt confused when you tried to piece together what’s going on.
suddenly, painful quick images flash in your brain. images of heeseung, his mocha eyes turning black, his cold lips against yours, his hands roaming over your body.
you rip off your blanket that has been covering you. you were wearing your pajamas and it makes you question yourself on how you went to bed. you have no memory of getting dressed or putting the blanket over top of you. or even how you wiped up heeseung’s cum off of your stomach.
you briskly get out of bed, making your way across the hall to the bathroom. you turned on the cold water, needing some sort of relief from this awakening. you lean against the counter with your hands on your cold, wet face, soaking in the water as you try to recall more memories from the night before. trying to distinguish if it was all a nightmare or real life.
you walk yourself through everything you could remember. it’s too detailed to just be a nightmare, but you don’t remember anything after heeseung pressed a final kiss to your lips. his lips, they were perfect, they knew everything that could make you feel good.
then, the memory comes back. you stand up straight, looking at yourself in the bathroom mirror as you pull your hair back, desperate to see your neck.
and there it is, a bright, purple hickey right below your ear.
your breath started to pick up pace as your fingers run over the bruise. fear and astonishment filling your body as you realize that everything you think happened last night, did in fact happen.
you had sex with a demon.
and you liked it.
there was no doubt in your mind that it wasn’t the best sex you’ve ever had. that you wouldn’t kill to have it again, to see heeseung one more time. feel his lips trail over your body, utilizing every part of his and your body to make you feel good.
and that thought terrified you.
there was no way you were craving sex with a demon, wishing that you could see him again. you sounded crazy.
so you told yourself that it was all a trick, and that after this exact moment you would never think of the demon with the cherry lips and soft black hair again. it was over and done with as what happened was part of his ‘duties’ or whatever. it meant nothing and never will, heeseung the incubus was out of your life for good.
Tumblr media
it didn’t take long for heeseung to start corrupting your dreams, blurring the line of what a dream and a nightmare is. in the depths of the night, your slumber was disturbed by images.
always finding yourself in a desolate dreamscape that you wander through, listening to whispers of your name in the air. the voices draw you towards a figure standing in the shadows. the closer you get, the more you could realize that it was heeseung, his presence both captivating and terrifying.
you could feel fear clenching your heart, your instincts wanting you to flee. yet, a part of you secretly relishes these dreams, these encounters with the enigmatic demon who holds a power over you whether he knows or not.
in the nightmare, heeseung steps forward, his eyes gleaming with his charm. “angel,” he murmured, his voice a seductive melody that you remember it has. “you’re mine, right?”
conflicting emotions surge within you. you know you should be frightened by him, to resist his demonic presence. but a part of you craved his attention, relish in the intrigue and danger that pulsed through your veins.
as he moves closer in the nightmare, reaching out and placing his cold hands on your bare arms, it sends electric currents surging through your body. making you feel a sort of high heeseung has only ever been able to give you.
despite the initial fear of your nightmares, your secret longing intensified the more you dreamt of him. it was a twisted dance between fear and desire. you yearned for the darkness that consumed your dreams, drawn to heeseung like a moth to a flame.
you started seeing flashes of what could only be heeseung during the day when you were awake. seeing him in the reflection of the window when you were washing dishes, only to turn around and to find no one.
when you went out to a cafe with mary, you swore you saw heeseung standing across the street through the cafe’s window, but he was gone when you turned your head completely to look at him.
finally, feeling insane from seeing him in your dreams and while you were awake, you had enough. you needed to talk to heeseung. you needed to see him for more than a second again.
knowing the only way you reached him before was thrown on a dusty box in the attack, you started to march your way to the attic, just wanting peace from this hellish reality you’ve been living in for weeks.
as soon as your hand was about to turn the copper door knob on the faded floral door, you heard his voice behind you. “and what do you think you’re doing?”
you squeak and turned around, facing the demon you were looking for, “i wanted to talk to you, again.”
heeseung scoffed from his position of leaning on the wall, his arms crossed over his chest, “right, but you and a ouija board don’t go so good together- especially since you summoned me last time,” heeseung started to walk closer to you, “who knows who you could’ve summoned this time.”
you gulped as you stared up at the demon who had been in your dreams for the past month, “well, i didn’t know how else to contact you! you- you keep showing up in my dreams and i know, i’ve seen you.”
“y/n,” heeseung glanced into your eyes, and you saw his hand start to move by his side but ultimately stopped and dropped back, “you can’t contact me again, that’s part of the whole incubus thing. we should never speak again.”
“w-what? but what about my dreams and i saw y-!” heeseung’s finger pressed against your lips, stopping you with a quick “shh!”.
“those should stay between us, i shouldn’t be doing those things. i could get in serious trouble.”
heeseung’s eyes were serious as you look into them, trying to get every detail to truly remember them in their mocha form. his finger dropped from your lips and hesitantly puts his hand back to his side, like he wanted to touch you but he can’t.
“then why were you doing those things?”
heeseung shrugged as he scanned your confused and frustrated face, “i don’t know. i shouldn’t have though. i won’t anymore.”
you scoffed, not being able to comprehend the turn of events, “so, this will be the last time i see you?” heeseung’s lips fell into a frown and his eyes hold sadness with your question. you take his expression as the answer you didn’t want to hear and looked away from him, to the floor.
“i’m sorry, angel.” heeseung’s whispered words reached your ear as he steps closer to you, only an inch away from your face. his hand reached up to grab your chin, pulling your face so you looked at him instead of the oak floor. your eyes have nowhere to look except for him. you take in every detail of his face, his moles by his lips– the one on his forehead that you catch a glimpse of through his bangs, his thin nose that you just want to kiss.
“this’ll be it.” are his last words before he’s leaning in and pressing his lips to yours. you stood on your toes to kiss him back, wanting him to feel all your emotions in the kiss. the kiss felt like a collision of souls, a culmination of desires that transcended into his and your realm.
your hands leave from your sides to wrap around his neck, but they ultimately fall back down to your body. you open your eyes and that’s when you see heeseung was no longer in front of you, his lips have left yours, his final, lingering touch.
you stood alone in your hallway now, your heart heavy. you knew this connection with heeseung could’ve ended with a heartbreak, but you wish it would’ve lasted longer. you wish you could’ve talked to him more before the final kiss.
with tears streaming down your face, you whispered a final goodbye to him before going to bed, hoping and wishing that he would visit your dreams again.
Tumblr media
there were no more dreams of heeseung. no more sightings of him. just, nothing.
it made you question if he was even real and wasn’t some part of your imagination.
the more you questioned yourself and heeseung’s intentions, the more you could feel yourself grow into the dark pit your mind had made for you. your inner self was battling too many fights at once that your physical self felt weak and tired. everyday went by at the same slow pace with the same boring routine. each day seems to fade into one, unable to tell the difference between them as you fight the internal battle you’ve created for yourself.
on one side, you knew that heeseung was dangerous. just a few months ago you didn’t even think demons were real. but now that you were aware, you should know all of the scary movies and stories and myths you had heard about them were real. you knew that heeseung had a power that could harm people. the thought of him hurting someone jabbed at your heart and made you feel ill.
on the other side you felt a strong connection to him. the way he was gentle with you and watched over you even though he knew he shouldn’t have. it lets you know that he must also feel the same connection that you do. he’s alluring and different and makes you feel like you’re special. no one has ever been able to make you feel as good as him.
so now that he’s gone, you struggle to really know your worth all because of a demon.
at work, mary seemed to notice you were struggling, well everyone could tell. but your friend confronted you one evening as you were leaving work. “hey, y/n!”
you turned at the voice of your friend, watching her chase after you in your work building. you hold the door for her and watch as her smiling face approaches you. usually you would be happy to see your friend, but you’re just so exhausted that you struggle to smile back at her.
“you going home now?” mary asked once she’s reached you.
“yeah,” you replied, starting walk outside now with mary beside you.
“right, well can we talk for a second?”
you stop and nod at your friend, wanting her to continue.
“y/n, i’ve noticed a change in you. you seem, i don’t know, depressed. you can tell me what’s going on.”
you tense at her words, not knowing what to say. “nothing’s wrong, mary. thanks though.” you turned away from her, hoping to get to your car quickly.
“wait, y/n!” mary’s arm grabbedyou to turn you around. “please, i know something’s wrong. you haven’t been the same since you moved into that house.”
you hesitated, torn between keeping your secret and the need to confide in someone. finally, you spoke in a hush tone incase someone walked by, “mary, remember heeseung, that demon we spoke to on the ouija board.”
“yeah…” mary’s eyebrows scrunched together in confusion.
“well, we accidentally summoned him, so now he’s, he’s visited me in my dreams. i hear him whispering and i see him. we’ve, spoken before.”
mary’s eyes widened with shock and concern, her voice filled with urgency, “what do you mean you’ve spoken?”
you shrugged, not wanting to tell her that you’ve had sex with him, “not much, and i can’t seem to resist him. but, he’s gone now.”
“what do you mean ‘gone’?”
‘he said that he shouldn’t still be in contact with me, and that it’s no good, so he’s left.”
mary grabbed onto your shoulders so you could only look at her. “listen to me y/n, you have to fight this. whatever going on with you now. heeseung is manipulating you. he’s a demon! you must break free from him, from this, whatever you have with him!”
but even as your friend warned you and told you the same things you’ve told yourself, your heart raced with longing for heeseung. you yearned to see him and talk to him at least one more time. heeseung was just too strong to resist.
“i, i can’t mar,” you admitted. “there’s just, something about him. i know it’s wrong, but i can’t help myself.”
mar tried to hide the disgust that was filling up with her when a genuine smile spread across your face for the first time in weeks, and it was because of a demon. an evil demon that she thought was only doing harm to her friend.
as mary reached out to hold your trembling hands she spoke, “y/n, this isn’t good for you. maybe you should stay at my house, and get away from him.”
“no!” you ripped your hands out of your best friends, “i don’t want to! i don’t want to do any of that. heeseung, he. he’s different.”
“he’s a demon!”
you scoff, “you don’t think i know that? i’m connected to him! more connected than i’ve been to anyone. he understands me. and you’ll never understand that.”
“right, i’ll never understand how my friend turned out to be such a freak! you need help!”
you jaw droppedat your friend’s words, pure anger and guilt taking over you, “yeah fuck you, mary! you’re the one that wanted to play the ouija board in the first place! so it’s your fault!” your words snap at her and you see her face fall at them before you turned on your heel and beeline it to your car. not looking back as you pull out onto the street, ready to go home.
Tumblr media
that was the last time you went to work or saw mary.
your days from then on consisted of laying in bed and sleeping. it felt like there was a part of you that was being torn apart and you didn’t know how to fix it besides having heeseung next to you. you were sure nothing or no one else could complete you again.
your eyes felt soulless and your cheeks were stained with tears. after you lost count of how many days you layed in bed you seemed to have lost the reason why you were even crying.
heeseung wasn’t coming back. and that should be good, all he does is bring darkness around him. but then the thought of never seeing him again made you feel worse.
your body began to subtly shake as you began to cried quietly. your pillow being drenched in tears again before you fell asleep once again. the mid afternoon and tears lulling you to sleep so quickly, but the last conscious thought on your mind was of heeseung, yet again.
since heeseung left, you’ve had no dreams of him, but this time, you could feel him creeping around your mind. you were calling out to him in the woods that weren’t recognizable to you, begging him to step forward because you knew he was there. the forest was dark and every tree looked the same.
suddenly, a light was glowing behind a tree, so bright that it was almost blinding. you knew you should go towards it, having no fear in the dark forest now because of this light.
your hand reached out and touched the dark oak as you peer around it. there, surrounded by the bright light, like it was his aura, was heeseung, leaning against the other side of the tree with his pretty smirk on his face that you missed so much.
his name sounded foreign on your tongue when you said his name, and when he speaks back you realized you almost forgot what his voice sounded like completely. you were telling him how much you miss him, and then he’s pinning you up against the tree so you can’t move, his lips dangerously close to yours as he tells you he missed you, too.
just when your lips were about to touch, you jolted awake in your bed.
your room was pitch black now that it was midnight. your chest was heaving from the intense dream you were just having. you turned around to grab the glass of water on your bedside, bringing it to your lips just as you heard his voice– and you think you were dreaming again.
“i didn’t even have to infiltrate your brain that time– that dream was all yours.”
you drop the glass out of your hand, hearing it smash against your floor as you turned around again in bed, your legs coming up to your chest as you looked at your window.
there, leaning against your window sill like he was against the tree in your dream– is heeseung.
nothing about him was different from the last time you saw him. his hair, his eyes, and his cherry lips were the exact same. though, he’s wearing a plain t shirt with his black pants this time. he lookedalmost innocent in the moonlight that’s radiating off of his pale skin, but you know it’s the last thing he is.
“heeseung!” your voice was hoarse when it comes out– it being the first time you’ve spoken in weeks. “wha- what’re you doing here?”
heeseung chuckles as he pushes himself off the sill, “what? you don’t want me here?”
“no! i do!” you speak quickly, sitting up on your knees to look at him better. he’s standing on the side of your bed, right in front of you on your knees.
“i know,” he nodded, “ and i shouldn’t be here, but i saw you dreaming about me so i just had to come.”
your hand jutted out and grabbed his wrist that’s dangling at his side, “please, stay, just a bit longer. i missed you.”
you see heeseung’s eyes fill with hesitation as he looked down at you. your hand droppedfrom his wrist as he moves his hand up to your face and grabbeda hold of your jaw. his thumb started to gently trace over your bottom lip.
“i missed you, too, angel.” his nickname for you falls easily off his lips as he speaks, and it makes you want to close your eyes to take in the moment but don’t just in case when you open them again he’ll be gone. “it’s late though, you should be sleeping.”
“no, heeseung! please, i don’t need to sleep. just stay.”
heeseung tsked but nodded to your pillow behind you, “let’s lay down, then.”
you fell back into your bed, watching as heeseung lifted your blanket and crawled in beside you. you were laying on your back as he was laying on his side facing you. he reached up and pushed your hair behind your ear so he could look at you better.
“i really missed you,” you toldhim with sorrow in your eyes.
“i know, and it upset me to see you that way everyday– you were just so– so sad,” he responds, you feel his hand slip under the sheets to meet your hand, linking your fingers together.
“i just, can’t forget how you made me feel. i’m so happy when i’m with you,”
heeseung’s hand went limp in yours at your words, “you shouldn’t feel that way with me, y/n– you know what i am,” heeseung own eyes were filled with sorrow and guilt as he looked at you. your room stayed silent as you take in his words, hearing from him what you’ve been telling yourself the entire time. “but, you’ve changed me forever. you’ve shown me that even in this demon form i still have feelings.”
your gazes locked, in that moment both of you realized that you were both trapped in a blessing and curse. a force that defied the rules of the mortal and death realm. but, despite the risks, both of you couldn’t deny your feelings for each other.
“so then stay with me, at least just for tonight.” you suggested, hoping and praying that he said yes.
heeseung nodded, the weight of your choices on both of your shoulders, “of course.”
with a tender smile, heeseung leaned in, making your lips meet each other in a soft lingering kiss. he pulled away for a moment, taking in your reaction, which is full of longing and neediness, that he leaned in again, longer this time.
instantly, you feel in a big burst just how much you need him. and he could sense it too. you feel him smile into the kiss, almost teasing you about your desperate need for him.
“you want me, y/n?” he mumbled into your lips, not wanting to pull away. you whimper a yes into his mouth, his tongue exploring yours as they mesh together in a more feverish kiss. “‘m gonna make you feel good, angel.” he pressed a quick kiss on the tip of your nose. “why don’t you take your shorts off for me?”
“okay,” you whispered to him. you lay your head further into your pillow as you reach down, untie and then slip off your short– just what heeseung had asked you to do.
heeseung didn’t hesitate to place his hand on your pussy, the part that he didn’t know he’s been missing so much until now. his two fingers started to find your clit, rubbing circles around it. it was a light pressure at first but it already started to feel so good since it was heeseung there with you. his mocha eyes had already turned full black when you looked up at him again, his gaze on you intent as he watched you respond to his touch.
your back started to arch when heeseung picked up his fingers’ pace and pressure. he leaned on his side, holding himself up on his arm as he watched you with a smirk on his face. you were about to tell him to go faster when he suddenly pushed his fingers inside of you, making you gasp out.
“hee– please,” the nickname falling from your lips sent a shiver down his spine, not having heard that name since he was a mortal.
heeseung’s fingers were so much longer than your own, him being able to reach places no one has before. your wet walls took him in so well that it was hard for him to move his fingers.
“tell me how good you’re feeling,” heeseung practically whispered into your ear.
“feels so good, heeseung, please don’t stop.” you begged him, his fingers slowing down their pace for a second so you could respond to him.
“who’s making you feel so good,” heeseung’s voice was stern, “tell me.”
“y-you, heeseung. only you can make me feel so good.”
heeseung chickles at your obedience, “that’s my good angel.”
heeseung didn’t hesitate to then curl his digits, immediately brushing your g-spot, making your toes curl in from the pleasure. you could feel the tension building in your body– growing in your stomach. heeseung loved watching you begin to unfold just from his fingers, but it scared him that he liked it so much.
heeseung had made multiple women feel good in his time as a mortal and as a demon, but he’s never truly cared to make them feel good except for you. with you, he only wants you to feel good again and again and again.
as the pleasure continued, your brain stopped functioning properly, only being able to focus on heeseung and his actions. you were so close to your high that you felt like you could climax at any moment.
heeseung bent his head down and kissed your clit, making your hips arch into his face, causing him to chuckle into your wet folds, “so close are we? feel like you can cum?”
you whimper a yes, “s-so close, please hee.” you just kept begging him tonight. not wanting him out of your reach ever again.
heeseung’s tongue wrapped around your clit, sucking it into his mouth and swirling his tongue around it. a loud gasp escaped your lips as your hand fell down into his black hair, pulling on it for support. heeseung only continued to finger fuck you and suck your clit. his tongue seemingly hitting everywhere that made you feel good.
“right there! please! right there!” you cried out to him, your eyes threatening to shut.
“cum on my fingers, y/n, cum all over like the good angel i know you are.” heeseung’s words were muffled in your wet pussy. your thighs were closing around his hand. the pleasure from his fingers, tongue and words becoming too much for you.
a final wave of pleasure pushed you over the edge, making your body tense and numb as you rocked out your high. your whiny moans and calls of heeseung’s name were the only sounds in the room as heeseung let you ride out your high on his tongue.
when your body finally came down and crashed back down onto your bed you sighed, feeling too weak and happy o push heeseung away from you. he placed a final kiss on your clit and gently pulled his soaked fingers out of you before popping them into his mouth.
you were about to protest before he was humming around them and speaking, “god, you taste so good, i don’t know how i could ever leave you.” you placed your hands over your face, too embarrassed at his statement to look at him. “stop, lemme see your face– i missed it so much.” heeseung pulled your hands away from your face.
“i missed you a lot, too, hee.” you toldhim seriously again. having no idea that heeseung’s spine shivered at the nickname once more.
heeseung pulled the blanket over you both, laying down beside you again. he wraps his arms around you, pulling you into his cold chest. you didn’t mind his lack of body warmth, finding it easier to fall asleep on in your hot bedroom. your fingers interlocked with his as your bodies suctioned together, neither one of you wanting the other to go.
“go to sleep now, angel.” heeseung whispered into your hair, pressing a kiss onto your head.
“i don’t want to.” you toldhim honestly, scared that when you wake up he won’t be here.
“y/n, go to sleep. i promise you i’ll be here when you wake up.”
“promise?”
“i promise. there’s nowhere else i’d wanna be.”
a soft smile spreads on your face as you nestle into his chest, eyes finally closing. you felt his chest rise and fall with every breath he took, even though there was no sound of a heartbeat coming from it.
but as heeseung’s fingers caressed your hair, you allowed yourself to let go of the worries that plagued you. in his embrace you found solace, a refuge from the chaotic reality that awaited you outside of this moment, outside of this house.
your bedroom, in that serene moment, the world slumbered around you two. you finally surrendered to the peace that eluded you for so long. with your heart steadily beating and breaths slowing, you drifted off into a deep slumber. you know that within the confines of this shared embrace, you would find strength to face whatever the future held, united with heeseung that seemed to defy all odds.
Tumblr media
when you awakened to the gentle rays of dawn, your eyes fluttered open, instantly shifting to the space beside you. you felt your heart skip a beat when you see that heeseung was still there, his presence warm and comforting against his cold skin.
heeseung was already awake, glancing down at you softly as you fully wake up.
“you’re still here,” you whispered, your voice mixed with surprise and relief.
heeseung’s lips form a tender smile as he speaks, “of course. i’ve been watching you sleep.” he confesses, his words carrying a sense of vulnerability.
a red blush colours your cheeks as you sit up beside him. “and i slept so peacefully. it’s been awhile since i’ve slept this good.”
heeseung’s eyes change with your words to ones of regret, “i know you’ve been so sad,” remorse fills his words, “it feels like all i can do to bring sorrow or fleeting pleasure to people.”
you shook your head, your eyes sincere as you reach out to touch his cheek gently, “you make me happy, hee. just having you here for more than an hour means more than you’ll ever know.”
a graceful smile joins heeseung’s lips, hopefulness in his eyes, “i promise, y/n. i’ll stay by your side forever.”
with his words you realize how isolated and alone you have been feeling with your struggles. but now, with heeseung by your side, you felt like you could do anything in this sanctuary with him. even if he was surrounded with darkness that threatens to consume you.
you quickly push the last thought away, leaning in to brush your lips against his in a gentle, soft kiss. a kiss that both of you find a sense of belonging in. the promise of his presence and unwavering devotion filled your core with happiness.
Tumblr media
one evening, as halloween approached, you two found yourselves cozying up on the couch, spending the entire day showing heeseung some popular horror movies. it had been weeks of living in isolation with heeseung, the flickering glow of the screen filled up the living room you’ve been spending the most time in. your fingers were intertwined with his as you both were watching ‘Paranormal Activity’.
heeseung let out an amused huff from beside you as another jumpscare happened on the screen. “i still don’t understand how people can find these movies scary.” he states in bewilderment.
you chuckle softly, putting your head on his shoulder as you do. “well it’s a way to feel scared without any real consequences. like you aren’t actually getting chased by a ghost woman.”
heeseungs laugh fills the room, the tension of your unique situation momentarily forgotten as you absorb the movie. when the credits started to fill the tv, the room fell into a comfortable silence, and your fingers continued to trace random, gentle patterns onto heeseung’s thigh.
“can i ask you something, hee?” you askedhim as he started to find another horror movie to laugh at.
“mhm,” he mumbled a yes, eyes trained on the tv.
you took a deep breath, your fingers stilling on his thigh. “how did you become a demon?”
the question hung in the air, and for a moment you thought he hadn’t heard you. but heeseung slowly put down the remote he was holding and looked over to you. his eyes held a hint of melancholy, as if your question had flashed multiple memories through his mind all at once.
“it’s nothing special of a story, really.” he shrugged and sits back into the couch, attention only on you now.
“okay, but i want to hear it.” you told him and he rolls his eyes playfully, “please.” you whine only for him to laugh.
“fine, but really, it’s nothing special, i was selfish, i let my desires control me– which made me hurt the people that i cared for. i betrayed their trust, and let my own pleasure overshadow everything else.”
“like what?”
heeseung sighs, “i use to be a musician, and i was in a band.”
“a band?” you exclaim in excitement.
“yes, and we were somewhat popular. a couple of people came to our gigs. mostly women.” you elbow him and he chuckles but continues, “it’s funny, but i’m serious. i used a lot of the women that came to our shows for sex, and then i wouldn’t talk to them again. i didn’t care if they had boyfriends or husbands or girlfriends or– whatever– because i knew i’d be gone the next day to another city.”
“okay, but i don’t know how that would make you a demon, a lot of men are fuck boys.” you interject with confusion.
heeseung hesitated, “well, i had a friend– he was my best friend– jake. he played guitar in our band. and he had this girlfriend– and i- i don’t know.”
you place your hand ontop of his, “it’s okay heeseung, you can tell me. please.”
heeseung sighedagain, but continues, “i was drunk or high a lot and one night, after a show, her and i were in my dressing room, and we– we hooked up.” you take in a sharp inhale at his words, “and jake, he walked in.”
“what did you do then?”
“i- i wanted to chase after him, but minjeong– his girlfriend– told me to stay and that she’d talk to him. and then i didn’t hear anything from them until the next morning and, and–” heeseung sits up, putting his head in his cold hands.
“and what?” you askedhim, your hand instinctively coming to rest on his back.
“they told me– the cops told me, that jake had died in a car crash. he was speeding and he was drunk and he died.”
“i’m so sorry, heeseung i-.”
“no, don’t be.” heeseung sits up and lookedat you, your hand falling from his body. “i don’t deserve to have any sympathy. he’s dead because of me.”
“no, he died because he was speeding and drunk.”
“yeah because he caught me with minjeong. god– and he loved her so much. i don’t know why i did it.”
“well you said it yourself, you were high or drunk. it’s not completely your fault. minjeong also was a part of it.”
ok trigger warning frfr.

heeseung sighs, his eyes closing as he placing his hand over his eyes, “yeah and thats why she took her own life.”
a small gasp left your mouth.
heeseung lookedat you with remorse in his eyes, “i’m sorry, maybe i shouldn’t have told you this.”
“no,” you sit back into the couch’s arm rest, “it’s alright. i just wasn’t expecting it.”
heeseung scoffs, “well you don’t become a demon for no little accident, angel.”
the room feel hoarse and dry as you take in what heeseung has told you. you know he’s a demon, and he’s done awful things. but you just could never imagine the heeseung that you know to cause such awful things to happen to others.
“so,” your voice was small when it comes out, “how did you die?”
heeseung cracks a sinister smile in the corner of his mouth, “an overdose. a month after jake passed.”
“oh my god,” your hand covers your mouth.
“it was an accident. i just needed something to cope with the loss of them both– and the guilt.”
 “i’m so, so sorry, hee.”
“no!” heeseung turns to you, almost anger in his eyes as he speaks, “i told you. dont feel sorry for me. i don’t deserve it. jake and minjeong didn’t deserve what i did. and i can’t make up for it– but maybe being a demon– sent to hell for eternity can somehow make up for at least 1 percent of it.”
you swallowed harshly, trying to ignore the self-rage in his eyes, “heeseung,” you began, moving towards him on the couch so you were next to him, holding his hand. somehow in his story you two had separated. “i know that what you’ve done in your past has caused a lot of pain, and guilt. but you’re not alone with this anymore. you have me, and i believe that someone– anyone can change and have redemption.”
heeseung’s eyes changed from anger to gratitude and disbelief, “you don’t hate me for what i’ve done?”
you shook your head no, your heart aching for the demon that you love. “no, hee. i can see that you feel so guilty, and have remorse. we all make mistakes. it’s important that you grow from them, even if it is in an unwanted location.”
heeseung lets out a heavy sigh and finally gives in to your touch. “i’ve carried this burden with me for so long. not a day goes by that i don’t think of them, and how if i had the chance, i would take it all back. i would bring them back to life in an instant.”
you give him a kiss on the cheek, “we all deserve a chance to change and to heal. i believe in you heeseung– im sure not all demons are as loving and guilt ridden as you. i’m here for you.”
heeseung’s eyes soften as he lookedat you. his expression filled with love and relief. he nodded to the couch cushion behind you, wanting you to lay down with him. you do so with no hesitation. your face pressed into his chest, breathing in his scent.
the last words you hear before you fall asleep, wrapped together with heeseung on your couch are,
“you’ll always be an angel.”
Tumblr media
the weeks had started to stretch into months, and the isolation, the secrecy and the shadowy nature of your relationship with heeseung was beginning to take it’s toll. the love you shared was undeniable, but it was also tangled in such darkness.
your phone calls with your parents, once filled with excitement, had turned into strained conversations. it seemed like every time the phone rang with their caller id, you found yourself rolling your eyes and snapping at them once you answered. soon, the phone calls stopped happening.
your dreams and aspirations, once a beacon of light for yourself, now seemed like distant fantasies that you could never reach. that you never wanted to reach. you found yourself becoming increasingly negative about everything except for your relationship with heeseung.
after the last phone call from your parents, heeseung’s concern became palpable. he had been watching your calls with your parents overtime, and had seen how dark and mean they had become. his gaze continuously filled with more and more worry. bitterness seemed to have filled you everytime you spoke to your parents, your friends or about your future or interests.
one day, heeseung had caught you staring at the picture of your parents sitting on the window sill in the living room. your eyes were glazed over, but he could tell you were hurting and confused. heeseung prepared himself before walking over to you. his touch gentle as he brushed your hair behind your ear. his cold heart tinged as he watched a beautiful smile spread across your face. the smile he only ever sees when you were talking to him.
“y/n, i need to talk to you.”
“sure, about what?” your smile never left your face as you looked at him so lovingly in the eyes.
heeseung sighed before he speaks, “i’ve noticed your anger, your negativity– you’ve not been who you truly are, for a while now.”
your smile dropped at his words, “what’re you talking about?”
“i’m talking about, how you apparently hate your parents now, and how you don’t want to go to work, or hang out with friends. you just want to stay in this house.”
“well of course i want to stay in this house, “ your hand jutted out and grabbed his arm, “that’s where you are. where you and i can be together.”
heeseung suddenly wants to shake you and hope that it’s enough to wake you up from whatever trance you’ve been in for weeks. but he knows that’s not the solution.
“y/n, angel,” he sits you back down on the couch with him. “i knew this would happen, but i hoped it wouldn’t. but it has.”
“what’s happened?” you asked him confused, feeling your heart pick up its pace at his seriousness.
“when a human interacts with a demon or spirit for too long, it starts to affect them, change them in a way.” you pout as you looked up at him, trying to understand what he’s saying. “i’ve changed you, y/n. i’ve turned you into someone you’re not.”
“no you haven’t!” you argued, ripping your arms away from his grasp.
heeseung sighs, “c’mon angel. you know that you’ve never been such a bitter, negative person. that’s not you! you’re sweet, and kind, and- and an angel!”
heeseungs words seem to break a small bit of ignorance in your brain. tears start brimming your eyes as you looked at him. “i- i don’t know whats happening to me, heeseung. i can’t control it. i feel lost.”
heeseung’s expression turned to pained as he took your hands into his. “y/n, our love is special, but there’s darkness. i’m the darkness. you deserve a life full of light, hope and true love. i’m afraid that i’ve been dragging you down into my shadows, losing you.”
your heart ached at his words, realization setting in. “what do we do, hee? how can we stop it?”
heeseung looked into your eyes, hesitation and regret covering his face before he speaks, “well, there’s two choice, angel. it’s not an easy one, but it’ll make you feel better.”
you nodded, “tell me, heeseung. i’ll do whatever it takes.”
his voice was soft and filled with anguish when he speaks again, “you either come with me to the dark world, where our love can exist with no secrecy, or i leave, and eventually your goodness, your light, yourself, will return.”
your tears started to spill down your cheeks as the gravity of his words sunk in, but you knew what you wanted to do. “i choose you. i’ll come with you.”
but heeseung shook his head, “i won’t let you make that sacrifice, y/n. you deserve a life filled with great things. i can see it ahead of you– i always have been. and i won’t be the one to extinguish your light and life.”
“no! i can’t imagine being without you, heeseung.”
heeseung gripped your hands tighter in his, “i know it feels like that now, but i promise you, you’ll feel so much better without me. you’ll feel love from everyone that cares about you. your family, your friends– the life and people you have in the future.”
“hee, please.”
“i can see your children, y/n. your daughter looks so much like you.”
you burst into tears at his words, your body falling forwards onto his. “heeseung, i- i can’t.”
“you can. and you will. i’m sorry for the pain i’ve caused you. i didn’t want this to happen, but i’m so selfish.”
you take his face into your hands, examining every part of his face, scared that it’ll be the last time you see him, “you aren’t selfish heeseung. you’ve showed me what real love is like– real love is when you love someone no matter their mistakes, you love someone even when others tell you not to. i’m so grateful for you, i can’t let you go.” tears started to fill heeseung’s eyes as well, your warm hands on his cold skin making his dead heart ache. “please, don’t leave, heeseung.”
his voicewasraspy when he speaks, “i have to, angel.”
you shook your head, not wanting to believe it, but knowing deep down it has to happen. you have to get back to your old self. you could not live in isolation with a man who’s not alive anymore. “then please, stay one more night.”
heeseung bit his lip, knowing he shouldn’t, but also knowing he could never say no to you. “okay, angel. i will.”
you instantly press your lips to his. the ever so familiarity of them engulfs both of you.
“i love you.” you told him sincerely.
“i love you, too angel.” his breath fanned over your lips before he’s grabbing the back of your neck with his palm lightly, pulling you closer to him. his tongue entered your mouth, wanting to taste everything from you for what he knows will be the last time.
your hands started to slip down his chest to his black jeans. his own cold hands were keeping your lips locked with his. he ignored your attempts at undoing his jeans by pushing back onto the couch, your lips and tongues still meshing together.
heeseung talented hands pushed aside your shorts and panties, finding your clit so easily now after months spent together. you moaned into his mouth, his fingers adding just the right amount of pressure.
suddenly, heeseung pulled away from your lips. your chests were heaving from the lack of oxygen. he pressed a final, quick kiss to your lips before he delves into your pussy. his fingers keeping your shorts and panties pushed to the side. your juices coat his lower half of his face. his eyes closing as he tastes you, wanting to remember the way the sweetness tingles on his tongue.
two of his fingers slip inside of you, heading straight for your gspot. a gasp of his name left your mouth, and your hand shot to tangle with his soft, black hair.
“you’re so good for me angel, always taste so good.” he mumbled into your wet lips. the vibration of his words rumble through your body and straight back down to your core. your hips found it hard to stay still as heeseung’s implementing pleasure continues through your body. your mind started to become hazy the faster your high approached.
“i’m gonna cum, hee, please, please let me,” you begged him out of habit.
“yes angel, do it for me, let me taste you cum one last time.”
you reached your high with a heavy heart, but pleasure still coursing through your veins as you wanted more of him. you whimper at the loss of contact as he pulled away from your core. only for you to be flipped over onto your stomach. you feel his hands started to pull down your shorts and panties before he discarded them across the living room.
“wanna fuck you from the back, know you love it when i do.” heeseung’s voice spoke, his hands coming down to roughly grab your ass.
“please, sir, want it so bad.”
his hand slapped down on your ass cheek hard, causing your body to rock forward into the couch arm rest. a cry escaped your lips but the pleasure from the slap rippled right down to your gaping core.
“that’s my good girl, beg for this cock.”
“i want your cock deep inside of me, wanna feel it touch my cervix, please sir.”
you heard heeseung’s dark chuckle before he slapped your ass once more as he slipped his hard cock into your wet core. he slipped in so easily and filled you right up. “fuck,” he groaned once he’s balls deep, “like this pussy was made for me.”
you whimper at his words, agreeing with him.
heeseung’s thrusts started out quick and rough, just how you know you both like it. just like how you both know no one else will be able to make each of you feel this good ever again. you know only heeseung could make you feel this high with just his cock.
your nails started to dig into the couch cushion underneath you as heeseung’s thrusts started to get sloppier. your orgasms starting to ignite from the pleasure. grunts, curses and whimpers of each other’s names fill the living room as you both cum at the same time.
your breaths were heavy as heeseung’s sweaty core lays ontop of your back, still wanting to be as close as you as possible before he could never be again. he pressed a kiss into your temple before he slowly pulled out, wincing at your soft whimpers from the overstimulation.
your breaths were steady when you felt something warm and wet start to clean inbetween your thighs. you look and see heeseung fully dressed, wiping the mess you had both made in between your thighs with a cloth. you watched him as he so carefully gets every sticky substance off of you, before he pressed a soft, delicate kiss onto your bare thigh.
when he was done, he placed the cloth on the coffee table and sighed as he meets your eyes and offered you his hand, “come, let’s get you into some clean clothes.”
it was silent between the two of you as heeseung picked out some grey sweatpants and a sweater for you to wear. when you dressed, he layed you down into your bed, pulling the blankets up to your chin and tucked you in. you couldn’t stop the tears from streaming down your face, and you didn’t mention the tears threatening to leave heeseung’s eyes as he sat on your bed, looking down at you for the last time.
“i love you, y/n.” heeseung spoke quietly, as if anyone could hear him.
“i love you, too, hee.”
heeseung’s hand reached out and brushed a fallen piece of hair behind your ear, “you know you’ll always be my angel, right?”
a sad, whimper of a yes escaped your mouth, then heeseung leaned down, pressing his lips into yours. your eyes closed, wanting to take in his presence as much as you could, so you could remember everything in perfect detail.
you’re about to object to him leaving, but when you open your eyes, heeseung was gone.
you sit up in your bed on your elbows, looking around your room frantically. tears were blurring your vision as you tried to find his silhouette in the shadows. but you know it’s no use. heeseung is gone, and you will never see him again.
Tumblr media
the days after heeseung left were agnoizingly slow. each moment weighed down by a sense of loss and regret. you wish you could’ve went with him. but the other part of you knows that this was for the best. but his absence felt like a gaping void that seemed like it would never be filled or satisfied. the sunrises no longer held the same excitement for the day ahead of you spent with him, and the nights were now filled with loneliness instead of your shared laughter.
but as the weeks passed, a subtle shift occurred. a shift so subtle that you didn’t realize it had happened until weeks after. the painful hole in your heart started to fill with light that you thought you had lost forever. the world, once shrouded in comfortable, dark shadows, started to regain it’s bright, welcoming colours.
you called your parents.
you dialed their number with a sense of hope, knowing that your past conversations had been filled with anger and resentment. but as your mothers voice greeted you on the other end of the line, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief. tears started streaming down yoru face as you began to apologize.
your parents’ voices were filled with love and understanding. they forgave you, and for the first time in a long while, you felt the warmth that came with love and care. it was the first step of healing for you. the first step to rediscovering your brightness that life could offer you.
you began to rebuild your life. working towards finding a journalism job, fixing your relationship with yoru parents, and resetting goals you had lost for months.
you reached out to mary, wanted to make amends for how distant and unkind you were to her. you met at your favourite cafe, the familiar scent of coffee and baked goods creating a comforting atmosphere for your nerves.
mary looked at you with curiosity and concern as she sat down in front of you. you took a deep breath as you both said hello. your voice already filled with sincerity and apologetic.
“i’m so sorry, mary. for the way i’ve acted and how we ended it. i shouldn’t have pushed you away or treated you so poorly. i know you were just trying to help me– and you know, you mean the world to me. so i hope you can forgive me. if not now, then in the future.”
mary’s eyes softened instantly, and offered you a forgiving smile. “of course, i forgive you. it was kinda my fault you met heeseung in the first place.”
his name makes your heart ache, “what do you mean?”
“i’m the one who wanted to use the oujia board remember.”
a smile cracks on your lips, “right, i guess so.” mary laughed for a second, before her eyes widened suddenly.
“so what did ever happen with him? is he, gone?”
you gulpped before you speak, “it’s a long story, but yes, he’s gone.”
mary nodded in understanding, “so what’re you going to do now?”
your shoulders perk up at her question, “well i’m almost done selling the house– and i’ve got a job in new york at a newspaper reporting job.”
mary’s eyes expand in surprise, “that’s great, y/n! but you love that house!”
you shrugged, “i loved that house. i’ve had a change of heart. i want something new, with no memories attached to it– or oujia boards in the attic.”
mary laughed, and offers her coffee mug in the air for you to clink yours together, “here’s to fresh starts– and having no oujia boards in attics.” you smile at meet your mug with her’s, welcoming the new beginning of your life.
as you sipped your coffees together and caught up on each other’s lives, you felt a renewed sense of hope. the future was filled with uncertainty, and the pain of your separation from heeseung always lingered, but you knew the memory of him will only help guide your future.
you were determined to shape a future that would be defined by your newfound strength and resilience, and a life enriched by the lessons you learnt with heeseung.
Tumblr media
years have passed, and your time in new york has brought you nothing but amazing opportunities. your life has taken a new, vibrant direction.
now, you stand proudly with your family, beaming with joy as you showed them the very first house you have ever bought. their laughter and excitement filled the air as they explored the town their mother and wife had grown up in.
as the day was soon to be ending, your daughter’s voice chimes up at you, “c’mon mom, let’s go to grandma and grandpa’s for ice cream!”
“yeah! i want chocolate ice cream, mom!” your son jumps up at his sister’s idea.
you agree with a warm smile, following your family back towards your car. but, just before leaving, you cast one last look back at your old home.
there, in your old bedroom window, where the moonlight shined in so beautifully, stands heeseung. his presence is fleeting, but the same playful smirk adorns his face, the very expression that had drawn you to him from the beginning. in that moment, your eyes interlock, and you feel the unspoken connection that had transcended realms.
the certainty settles within your heart that someday, your love will bridge the divide between the mortal and otherwordly, between an angel and a demon.
as you walk away, hand in hand with your husband, you knew that the tapestry of your love with heeseung is far from complete, and the promise of your reunion lingers in the air, like a whisper that only you and heeseung can hear.

Harry is finally comfortable w Mitch and his friends so one night when they’re all out together Including Sarah and y/n, Harry doesn’t really pay as much attention to y/n as he usually does, and y/n becomes more clingy than usual and it makes Harry happy 🥺🥺
this is a little different than the exact request but I hope you enjoy!! thank you for sending this in:)

—————
Fiddling with his fingers in his lap, Harry watched as (Y/N) readied herself at her vanity. He wanted to be distracted by the sweeps of cosmetics across her skin or the flutter of her lashes as she dusted sparkles over her eyes, but he knew it was a losing battle. He'd already spent all of his distractions when he conjured up his outfit and fussed over his own hair in the mirror. His nervous hands had prepped him too early, leaving him with way more time available than he needed.
"You know," (Y/N) started, catching his gaze in the reflection, "we don't have to go tonight if you don't want to. We can stay here and relax or go back to yours and cuddle with the girls. I don't mind."
There was a split second where he considered her offer, folding his bottom lip between his teeth before he thought better of his indecision. (Y/N) had agreed to these plans earlier in the week and was almost done with her makeup already, there was no way he was going to let her cancel on his account.
"No, I want to go," he insisted, matching her gaze though he figured he looked about as convincing as he felt, "I know I'll have fun, 's jus'... You know."
A gentle smile touched the corners of his lover's lips. "I know," she assured, "We'll have fun once we get out there. This is the hard part."
He gave a quiet nod in agreement. It was easier to stay home with her and luxuriate in the familiar, but he was trying to grow himself into a member of the world once more. Besides, Sarah's boyfriend, Mitch, was supposed to be there tonight with a couple of the others he'd met a few months back. As long as he found his space in that group again, he'd be able to make it through.
Worst case scenario, he'd cling to (Y/N), say the word, and they'd be on their way home before he had a chance to crawl out of his skin.
This was going to be good for him, he reminded himself as he continued watching (Y/N) through the mirror.
He was going to have fun tonight. Probably.
—————
With his fingers laced between hers, Harry followed (Y/N) into the restaurant. The plan tonight was to go to dinner before heading to some of the bars downtown as some kind of informal celebration for Sarah's upcoming birthday. (Y/N) had gently let Sarah and Mitch know to go ahead without her and Harry (it was a small ruse to allow her some extra time to get ready and Harry an extra moment in the quiet apartment before braving the world), leaving them to be one of the last to arrive.
The restaurant was loud and crowded, tables packed with chairs and bubbly patrons. The bar was busy, both servers and guests seated on the stools keeping the bartenders busy with plenty of orders. Fresh pizzas were being fired in the brick oven that worked as the centerpiece of the establishment, though there were plenty of spicy, greasy bar staples flooding out of the kitchen.
As much as Harry worried over these kinds of outings, still on unsure footing when it came to the world outside of his bubble, the energy of this place fed him. Though it was a different kind of feeling compared to the hazy parties of the seventies that he was so ingrained in, this wasn't that far off from what he had been so accustomed to in the past (there were decidedly less drugs here, and more decency but that's besides the point). He could feel eyes trailing after him when he walked past, his stride bringing attention to the glimmering threads of his clothing and the woman on his arm.
"Hey, guys!" (Y/N) greeted as they approached the table in the back the hostess had directed them to. On either side of the long table, faces turned to the sound of (Y/N)'s voice. Harry recognized the majority of them, though there were a few unfamiliar faces that he was both eager and nervous to meet.
"You made it!" Sarah cheered, Mitch at her side with his own usually stoic features shifting into a smile when he caught Harry's eye.
"Yeah, sorry," (Y/N) started, leading Harry down to the two free spots at the end of the bench seating, across from Mitch and Sarah and next to a familiar head of bleached hair he'd met at the concert night a few months ago. "The Uber took the weirdest way, and then hit traffic. I don't know what he was trying to do."
Sarah shrugged and rolled her eyes as if this was a story she'd lived through just as many times herself.
(Y/N) took the spot next to the semi-unfamiliar couple, leaving Harry on the very end of the bench without any extra neighbors. She and Sarah took up another avenue of conversation, others beginning to jump in now that the party could truly start with all guests in attendance. He held her hand tight in his lap, his attention drifting this way and that as more and more color and noise and new caught his eye.
"Have you ever been here before, Harry?" Mitch asked from across the table, centering his wandering attention.
"No, this is m'first time," Harry offered, a small smile on his lips. He felt a bit better knowing that Mitch was here—next to (Y/N), he was one of the only people he felt comfortable with.
"Really?" Mitch sounded, his brows rising, "Don't you work around here, now? At that one music store?"
Harry eagerly nodded to the question. He loved talking about his job—he loved spending so much time around music and the extra money that came with it was very exciting.
"I do, yeah," he smiled, "Have y'ever been there before? You'd love it."
Mitch matched Harry's smile with his own grin, taking a sip from his drink with a slow shake of his head. "I haven't, but I might have to come see you sometime. Friends and family discount, right?"
Letting out a laugh, Harry nodded his head. He really hoped Mitch meant it when he said he'd come visit—he wasn't sure how to add discounts yet to the register, but he'd make sure his friend got whatever he wanted when he came by.
As Mitch started on a new avenue of conversation, Harry relaxed further the longer the night went on, feeling less and less of the anxiety that he left the house with. He felt thoroughly distracted—comfortable, even, when the semi-familiar man (Kid, he thinks was their nickname) on (Y/N)'s other side piped into his and Mitch's conversation. The edge he had been standing on slowly dulled until he was laughing loudly and settling into his skin the way he used to back in the day.
Once ordered, drinks and dinner were delivered to the table. Honestly, Harry almost wanted to speed through his meal knowing that the rest of the plans for the night were to head to a bar down the plaza, leaving more room to hang out with his friends. He was having too much fun to waste time like this. Under the table, (Y/N)'s hand was settled on his thigh, turning palm up once he attempted to wiggle his fingers between hers.
Looking up at her, his hand loaded with a slice of plain cheese pizza, he saw her looking at him with a raised brow.
"Feeling better?" she murmured to him, the others around them distracted by their own food to listen in.
A small smile was on Harry's lips as he nodded his head. "Yeah, a lot. I forget how nice everyone is."
"And, how much they like you," (Y/N) added, "I'm happy you're feeling better, though. Do you still want to go to the bars with everyone after?" His eager nod had to be enough of an answer with the way she let out a huff of laughter, her hand squeezing his under the table. "Okay," she smiled, "Just wanted to double check."
Tipping her chin, (Y/N) puckered her lips just enough to draw him in for a short kiss. Harry felt his heart skip a beat in his chest, even if the contact was nothing more than a small peck on his mouth. The vine tethering the chambers of his heart to hers pulsed, urging him to stay close to her.
"Thank you," he murmured, blinking up at her through the fan of his lashes.
"For what?" she asked, nudging him, their private moment drawing on long enough to catch the attention of Sarah across the table. Her eyes softened as she glanced at them.
"Taking me tonight," he answered, keeping his voice low. If Sarah could watch, he just hoped she couldn't hear every word. "I know 'm a lot sometimes—thank you for still wanting to bring me even if I wasn't sure."
She tipped her head, eyes fond and tender to match the smile on her lips. "Of course, H. You don't really have much of a choice, though—you're my soulmate, you pretty much have to come with me."
He knew she was trying to joke with him, get him to laugh the same way she realized her own plume of laughter, but he liked hearing her call him her soulmate to do anything more than surge forward for another kiss.
—————
(Y/N) with Sarah and some of the other women at her side, didn't take much time before getting their first round of drinks to indulge in the dance floor of the bar, cheering in celebration of Sarah's birthday. Harry, along with Mitch and the rest of the few that didn't want to brave the sweaty congregation all hung back, drinks in hand with a table luckily claimed along the back of the bar.
More often than not, he had his eyes on (Y/N), watching her like she was a bubble of sunshine in the middle of the dance floor. He could hear her laughter, see her dancing with her friends, and practically feel the beam of her happiness even sitting so far off. Mitch was much like him, watching his own girlfriend as she celebrated her birthday, a fond smile on his lips.
The third time Harry caught him gazing with hearts in his eyes towards Sarah and the bobbing ponytail on her head, he asked, "How long have y'and Sarah been together?"
Mitch blinked his eyes away from the dance floor, Kid at his side jostling him as he laughed with his own companion. "Hm?" Mitch hummed, taking a sip from his beer as he plugged into the moment once more.
Harry knew the feeling well: what it was like to forget the rest of the details around him when he had his eyes on his sunshine. Chin in his palm with his elbow resting on the table, Harry let a small smile sit on his lips. "I asked how long you and Sarah have been together."
"Oh, sorry," Mitch offered, sheepishly clearing his throat, "We've been together for a little over three years, now."
"Wow," Harry awed, the romantic inside him sinking at the thought of having that much time with (Y/N) at his side. "How did y'meet?"
Only having time to open his mouth to take in a breath before his story, Mitch was cut off when Kid butted in. His eyes were a bit glassy thanks to the alcohol in his system, but his words were clear when he interjected: "I set them up!"
Kid's partner—Jenny—laughed at his insistence, especially when Mitch rolled his eyes though he couldn't completely stave off the amusement on his features.
"Barely," Mitch countered, voice a petulant mumble when he looked back at Harry, "He just happened to know the both of us, but he didn't set us up."
"Was I not the one that invited both of you to my birthday party?"
Harry sat back, drink in hand, as he watched the light-hearted argument. It felt nice to be sitting among friends for the first time in decades, learning tidbits about their lives and finding where he fit in within the dynamic. (Y/N) was his heart and soul, everything that made his existence feel purposeful, but this was a facet of his life he hadn't realized he was craving so badly until it was offered to him.
"Harry, don't you think that qualifies as a set up?"
Perking up at the sound of his name, he plugged into the conversation once more, only to have three pairs of eyes waiting on him. Both Jenny and Mitch held amusement in their gazes though Kid seemed terribly serious with his request for backup.
Unable to help himself, Harry had to prod.
"Well," he started, breathing in a sigh as he laid his forearms out on the table, "How long after your birthday did they go on a real date?"
It was the chatter that started almost immediately after he finished speaking that had Harry smiling into the rim of his own cup, pretending to sip as he took it all in.
—————
With sweat sticking her baby hairs to her temples and slicking down her back, (Y/N) practically stumbled after Sarah as they drifted from the dance floor. The few others that had paraded out there with them stayed behind for the rest of the song, while Sarah had insisted that she needed another drink before she could dance any longer. Sweaty hands pressed palm to palm, (Y/N) followed her out in the semi-fresh air of the rest of the bar now that they weren't tucked between the rest of the patrons on the dance floor. It was suddenly sobering to be out of the crowd, but that didn't mean she wasn't feeling the effects of the cocktail from dinner and the celebratory shots they took once stepping into the bar.
With Sarah leading her to the bar, (Y/N) traced her eyes through the space, knowing Harry was around somewhere but she was a touch too intoxicated to rely on the tether between them. She found him, a bright sunshiney yellow spot, tucked at the end of the booth next to Mitch with Jenny and Kid laughing along to whatever it was that Harry was saying. It was silly to her, as she took in the moment, just how nervous he had been before leaving, worrying over not fitting in, doing nothing but clinging to her side, not having fun, to now being the center of attention. It was just as she figured it would be—no one was immune to his presence.
Tugging her forward, (Y/N) went along with Sarah to the bar until they had fought through the two-deep crowd to the counter. Sarah didn't need to ask what she wanted, instead slurring out an order of two fruity cocktails with a drunken declaration that it was her birthday. Over her shoulder, (Y/N) could see the bartender laughing at Sarah's excitement, though that information would surely garner them a discount anyway.
Once their drinks were in hand, Sarah didn't waste time before putting the straw between her lips and gulping down the drink. "Let's go say hi, then we'll go back!" she shouted over the music after taking down the mouthful of juice and vodka, gesturing towards their claimed table with the rest of their party.
Nodding with her own straw between her lips, (Y/N) was more than happy to take a break and see her soulmate before heading back into the sweaty throng of people.
It took a bit of maneuvering, but making it to the table was quick enough and well worth the small spill she made on her shoes when she saw Harry's face light up when he caught sight of her. Whatever story he had been in the middle was put on pause when the pair of them made it to the table, Harry opening his arms for her to fall into. Mitch as well looked amused to see his mumbling girlfriend, a familiar glimmer in his eyes when he took her in.
"Hi, you," Harry murmured, taking a hold of (Y/N)'s drink and setting it on the stable table. "How are y'feeling, sunshine?"
"I'm good," she smiled, languidly draping her arms over his shoulders as she fought the urge to climb on his lap instead, "Kind of drunk, I think, though. Are you having fun?"
Dimples deep in his cheeks, dots of glitter shimmering on his cheekbones, he looked to her with tenderness coating his gaze. "'M having a lot of fun, sunshine. Are you?"
"Mhm," she hummed, unable to hold back from pressing a clumsy kiss to the corner of his mouth, "But I feel like I've barely seen you tonight. You said you were gonna come dance with me."
"Sorry, love," he crooned, smiling despite the pout on her own lips, "Jus' got a little distracted, but you know 'm right here if y'need me."
"Yeah," she sighed, drooping like some long-suffering spouse, "But, I've missed my soulmate—I know you're right here, but it's not the same. You're too busy with your friends."
Her petulance only pulled a plume of laughter from him, even if there was something decidedly softer than before in his eyes. "You're still m'best friend, love, you know that. Jus' wanted to let y'have your fun, then I was going to bother y'the rest of the night."
"You never bother me," she countered, canting her head.
It was Harry's turn to tip his chin and press a kiss to her lips, though this contact was much more coordinated than her previous attempt. (Y/N) sunk into the contact, allowing Harry to hold her steady just before there was a call of her name from Sarah.
"Hm?" she asked, pulling away from Harry with her lipgloss surely missing from her mouth though it now sparkled on Harry's.
"We need to go back," she bubbled, taking her half-finished drink with Mitch looking on with a poorly hidden smile. "Listen to the song! We need to go out there!"
Tuning into the moment once more, (Y/N) took note of the bright notes filtering through the bar. It took only a quick look over her shoulder to see the familiar bobbing heads of the friends they had left behind to get their drinks, one of the girls catching sight of Sarah and beckoning them back to the floor.
"Go have fun, sunshine," Harry murmured, giving her a pat on the small of her back as if to send her off.
That seemed to be all the encouragement needed for Sarah to grab a hold of (Y/N)'s hand and take her back towards the floor. Drink in hand, (Y/N) made a point to look back to Harry and give him a small wave goodbye for the moment. His smile only widened when she did.
—————
"I love you."
Despite the sweet declaration, Harry couldn't help the laugh that bubbled from his chest. He tightened his grip on (Y/N) as she draped herself over him in the backseat of their Uber (a concept he thoroughly struggled with until Mitch helped him both understand it as well as order one).
"I love you too, sunshine," Harry murmured back for the third time in the span of five minutes.
"Nooo," she moaned, curling into him as if she weren't practically on his lap already, "You don't get it, H. I love you—like, love you."
His heart warmed even when she slurred over her words, the night dancing and drinking catching up to her finally. He wondered what their driver thought, listening into this drunken conversation.
"I love love you, too, (Y/N). I—"
"Why would you say that to me?" she cried, cutting him off drawing away from him with offense written all over her features.
Glancing at the rearview mirror, Harry caught their driver attempting to hold back her smile before focusing back on the road before her. As a quiet favor, she turned up the radio just a hair more, an offer of privacy.
"Why would I say what?" Harry crooned, unsure of how his love for her could cause her to feel so upset.
"You called me by my name. Why would you do that? You never call me by my name, are you mad at me?"
It took all he had in him to keep from laughing at her distress. He hadn't meant to upset her, he had hoped by saying her name she would see he was just as serious as she was. His arm looped around her middle kept her steady at his side.
"Of course, 'm not mad at you, love," he cooed, erring on the side of caution with his voice terribly gentle, "Jus' wasn't thinking, I guess. I love love you, sunshine."
His amendment seemed to be just enough to placate (Y/N) once more, drawing him into her with a blissed smile.
"I love you more than anything, honey," she told him once more, back on track with her declarations, "I don't tell you enough, but I do. You're my favorite person in the whole world, and it's crazy that we could've never met if you didn't decide to live up in the mountain and do all your witchy stuff and—"
"Oh, love," Harry cut her off before she could say much more about whatever witchy stuff he's got up to. Even with that, hearing her say she loves him more than anything in the world was enough to have his skin pinkening and warming. "You're my favorite person, you know that. Love you, so much."
Before (Y/N) could try to argue anymore, declare her love for him to be the biggest (which was not true, because he loved her more), the car came to a stop at (Y/N)'s apartment building.
"Here you are," their driver declared, peeking through the rearview mirror.
"Thank you," Harry smiled, the curl widening when (Y/N) seconded him with a bright chirping Mhm!
"You're welcome," their driver smiled, "Have a nice rest of your night, you two."
"We will!" (Y/N) brightly answered, struggling to get her seatbelt off.
After helping her out, Harry collected (Y/N) in his arms and kept her steady when she stepped out on the sidewalk. She gave a final wave to their driver before clinging to Harry as he led her towards the building.
"I had so much fun tonight, Harry," (Y/N) drawled, hanging off of him as he entered all the codes to get inside the building, her eyes warming the line of his profile. "Thank you for coming with me and taking care of me."
"Thank you for bringing me with you," he said, parroting the sentiment from dinner.
As he listened into her babblings as he took her up to her apartment, Harry felt his heart bloom like the petals in his garden. He'd had a perfect night, truthfully. While these were still people he had met through (Y/N), it didn't feel like he had spent the night with people putting up with him because of who his soulmate was. He felt like he had spent the night with his own friends, the kind that would have been a part of his hazy memories from the seventies, full of laughter and silly conversation.
All for him to end the night with the love of his life.
"I had a lot of fun tonight too, sunshine," he crooned to her, getting her safe inside the apartment once more. "I love you."
"But, Harry, you don't get it."
He could only laugh as he led her to her bedroom. He knew she would be arguing with him over the rest of the night.
Harry couldn't be happier.

The birds outside woke you up this morning, the sound of their sweet melodies peacefully bringing you out of your much needed slumber. The sun was barely rising over the mountains so you knew it was still very early. The alarm clock next to you read ‘5:44 am’. You knew Chan was laid behind you, his heavy arm curled over your figure, holding you close.
You took a moment to appreciate the feeling of being trapped by him - of his warmth. This was quickly becoming your favorite pastime; laying here with him just enjoying his presence. A part of you wanted nothing more than to lay here all day, wasting away with him. A bigger part of you needed to be productive. You had slept away most of the day yesterday and were feeling quite energized from the rest.
Chan did say last night that you had things to do today, so why not get this show on the road! It would be a nice surprise for the pack to wake up to a clean house and hot breakfast. First things first- getting out of the alphas hold on you. You shimmied against him, lightly lifting the appendage that held you hostage to squeeze out. You paused when you heard him sigh in his sleep, only to resume when he let out a snore. Cutie pie.
You grabbed the pillow that you had been laying on and jammed it in place of where you rested previously, in Chans hold. The alpha must have smelled you on the pillow since he pulled it closer to his body.
After doing your business in the bathroom you went on the hunt for cleaning supplies. You crept through the halls opening doors you knew to be closets until you finally found the supplies in a closet on the first floor. Upon finding them you immediately got to work.
Starting with dusting, then sweeping and mopping the entire first floor. After that you did all the available bathrooms and then finished with a quiet clean of the top two floors. The kitchen would come after you made breakfast. Surprisingly it only took you until about 8:00 am to get all that done. You felt very efficient! To your surprise none of the boys have awoken yet. You didn’t hear one peep while cleaning.
You also took the time to add more comfort items to the living spaces. The omega in you begged to make it more nestable so you did. Adding blankets, extra pillows and even a few of your new stuffed animals to couches and chairs. The goal was they would start to retain the smells of your new packmates then you could cuddle the items without shame.
Next you wandered into your own room. All the bags from yesterday remained there untouched. Sorting through you put away all your clothes and picked out a nice outfit for today. It was almost summer time so you knew it would be warm today and opted for a green floral cami dress that went just above your knees. Minho must have picked this out for you, but it was so so cute you had to wear it. It was just your style. Grabbing the dress and some panties you went to take a shower and to finish getting ready for the day.
The shower was where you did your best thinking. A place to escape just you and your thoughts. As you washed your hair and body with the strawberry scented products you reflected on the whole pack. If you were a sane person it would scare you just how comfortable you are getting with the pack in such a short amount of time. And how comfortable they are with you.
But you’re not a sane person. You’re an omega in love. All sanity is thrown out the window when you find your mate. All you want is to be perfect for him. And in turn also for the whole pack.
There was a blow dryer and curler amongst your things in your room as well as makeup you had chosen while shopping so when you came out you were able to fully get ready for the day. You felt very cute today, you didn’t have any reason to look super nice back when you were with your family seeing as you rarely were allowed to leave the house- and if you did leave never would you have been allowed to wear a dress or anything remotely revealing. Fathers orders.
You hoped your alpha and pack would like it on you. You straightened yourself up before heading down to cook. It was nearing 9:30 so you hoped they would start getting up any time now.
Down in the kitchen as you were gathering ingredients you noticed a small sound system attached to the wall and a remote sitting on the island. Grabbing the remote you pressed the power button and when you saw the small light indicating it was on you pressed play. Out came the melodies of a familiar band. 5 Seconds of Summer? Whoever is hooked up to this obviously has great taste!
That was where Seungmin found you, whisking eggs and belting out the words to ‘She looks so perfect’ and he couldn't agree more. ‘She does look perfect’ He thought to himself. He stood there leaning against the wall admiring you for a solid 2 minutes before you noticed him, suddenly being able to smell another person around you spun around in embarrassment at being caught like that.
“Seungmin!”
He cracked a smile at you, eyes scanning you up and down before settling on your reddened face. “Hey baby. Whatcha doin?”
You turned away from him to try and hide the blush that seeped onto your cheeks, “Nothing. Just trying to get breakfast together. What are you doing?”
He shrugged “Been up for a few minutes when I heard a commotion in here. The house looks really great. Was that your doing baby?” You felt him approach you while you nodded.
“Umm yeah, I woke up early and wanted to get some things done for you guys.” You continued to whisk the eggs without looking at him.
“Mmm” He reached for your face, turning you towards him, “ It is greatly appreciated, omega.”
You let out a squeak when he called you that, causing a smirk to appear on his face.
Seungmin could smell how pleased you were so he didn’t give it another thought before he leaned down and pressed a chaste kiss directly on your lips. He pulled away and licked his own lips still gazing into your shocked eyes.
“How long until food is ready you think?” He asked. You couldn’t believe how nonchalant he was being right now after he just kissed you!!
‘Should I pretend my heart isn’t beating out of my chest?’ You wondered.
“ A-about 20 minutes.” Dammit you stuttered! Get a grip! You mentally scolded yourself.
“Perfect. I'll wake the pack”  He said it with an evil smirk, looking forward to the task.
-----------------------------------
Wake the pack he did indeed. By playing police sirens on his phone and bursting into everyone's rooms cackling when they swore at him and dodging thrown pillows (and one stuffy from Felix). If you had known he was going to do that then you would have woken them yourself! Though admittedly it was pretty efficient, since it was a matter of minutes until the rest of your pack made their way downstairs, looking tired and grumpy.
The grumpiness left every single one of them though, when they caught eyes on you. Looking oh so delectable in your little dress cooking for them. What a perfect thing to awaken too.
Not that you noticed much, you were still caught up on the feeling of Seungmins lips on your own. Each boy greeted you as they came down, most giving you hugs - except Changbin who not only hugged you but did his signature of lifting you from the ground.
When Minho had come down you thanked him for the dress. He knew you would look great in the outfit and damn he was right.
“You’re welcome, Baby. It looks good on you.” He replied and gave you a wink
Chan came down last as you and Minho were setting the table, looking freshly showered.
“There's my sweet girl. I was wondering where you wandered off too.” the alpha kissed your temple. He took the stack of plates from your hands and continued your task.
“Good morning Channie.” You reached back for the plates but he shooed you out with a smack to your rear.
“Nuh uh looks like you’ve done enough. Sit down and get some food, omega.” He raised his brows at you when it looked like you were about to protest. You begrudgingly took a seat in your normal spot. Chan gave you a pleased smile. “Good girl.”
Once the whole pack was sat together you all discussed each other's plans. Changbin was hitting the gym (what was new there), Minho wanted to get more food for the house and Felix wanted to join him to the store, while Hyunjin had his weekly art class he teaches at the community center every wednesday afternoon.
“What are you up to today, baby?” Jisung asked with a mouth full.
“Oh, I don’t actually know.” You looked to Chan for the answer.
He wiped his mouth with a napkin, “Well you have an appointment in about an hour to see a doctor, we need to make sure everything is okay after you got off the suppressants. Then we’re heading over to the police station to clear up your missing persons status.”
You were confused. “I have a missing person status?”
“You ran away from home, Baby. Ran away from Hongjoong, who probably paid a pretty penny for a sweet girl like you. Makes sense they would look for you.” Jeongin reasoned nervously. The youngest alpha would never admit it but he was honestly scared about the Ateez pack coming for you or Chan. It was weighing on a few of their minds.
Chan could sense the uneasiness in the room. “But we’re getting it taken care of today. I already have it all ready to go, just need you to sign a few things and you'll be golden. No more worrying about Hongjoong.” He smiled with that predator's smile he had. His words brought you some ease, and you nodded at him. His next words though, shook you to your core.
“Plus, if that asshole did decide to show his face around here I would take care of it.”
--------------------------------------------
After dropping off Hyunjin and Changbin at their respective locations you and Chan headed for the doctors office. Chan had assured this man was very good at his job and could be trusted.
Doctor Bong had been Chan's doctor for years, and before that had been childhood friends with the alpha. He was a friendly beta man, albeit younger than any doctor you had ever seen, and he did his best to help you relax with small talk as he examined you. Even though you’re the first real omega he has treated he still had some knowledge as he had to do a course on omegas in medical school.
“Given how long you had been on the suppressants I am going to need a small blood sample to examine.” Dr.Bong said woefully at seeing your expression. “ I know it’s not ideal, but you had been on some pretty powerful drugs, Y/n.”
“Not to mention illegal.” Chan muttered scornfully.
Bong nodded “Yes that too. There's a reason you can’t just pick up a prescription for them. They could cause a lot of damage and we need to be sure you’re functioning correctly.”
Your alpha grabbed your hand and released a calming pheromone to relax you. “This is to help you, baby.”
You took a deep breath and prepared for the needle. Chan was laying his scent on thick, it now taking over all your senses completely distracting you from the blood draw. You were so wrapped up in him that you didn’t notice the draw had been done until Dr.Bong was putting a bandage on you.
You snapped out of the daze when Dr.Bong exclaimed “All done! We will send this into the lab asap and get back to you by tomorrow morning at the latest. From what I can tell so far though your body is functioning pretty normally, maybe just your hormones are a little wacky. I would refrain from any.. Unprotected fun until we get the results in to be sure.” He looked pointedly at Chan.
“Damn” Chan smirked and you gasped in embarrassment.
“Chan!!”
He only laughed at your mortification.
“Before you go” Bong said, “If everything checks out alright are you going to need a prescription for non hormonal birth control?”
You were too shy to answer correctly, only nodding when Chan said “Yes please Bong. Wanna have some time with my girl before we have babies.”
As you were checking out with reception Chan thanked the Doctor.
“I appreciate you getting us in to see you at such short notice Bong.” The alpha bro hugged his friend.
“Anything for you, Chris. I am so happy you found your person. I’ll keep you updated as soon as I get the results in.”
“Thanks man.” He saw you approaching him, “Ready to go gorgeous?”
You smiled happily, now that the hard part for you was over, “Yes alpha!” You turned to the doctor “Thank you Doctor Bong!”
Your alpha grabbed your hand and you were off to your next stop.
-----------------------------------
The people at the police station had the paperwork ready for you upon your arrival. They just had to ask you a few questions regarding your safety, you signed the document stating you were in fact not missing and that was that.
It felt like a massive weight had been lifted from your shoulders, Chans too by the scent coming off of him.
The sheriff congratulated Chan on finding his omega, clapping him on the back in a fatherly way. It seemed like everyone in town knew the alpha. It had been explained to you that Chan's family had lived in the town of Silver Ridge for generations, helping to cultivate it and protect it. His family owned the property you now live on, only now it belonged solely to your alpha. He had grown up here. His parents left the small town  with him and his siblings when he was a teenager, wanting a change of scenery. Chan had only returned when he was an adult and his grandfather had passed, leaving his massive home to your alpha.
He had a stake in his family business of buying and selling massive commercial properties, so he was very wealthy. Though he didn’t flaunt it.To him it was just one of the ways he provided for his pack.  Not that you cared if he had money or not. You loved him for him, not his money.
After the police station there was still about an hour before you were supposed to pick up Hyunjin and Changbin so Chan took you to a little diner down the road where he claimed they made ‘the best chili fries ever’ and that you had to try them.
He dragged you to an old booth in the corner, his normal spot he claimed, and ordered a massive plate of chili fries and each of you a milkshake.
As he ate you just admired him. It was crazy how handsome he was, even with a mouth full of fries his beauty was effortless. He caught your eyes and grinned at you.
“What are you looking at, beautiful?”
You looked down ashamed you had been caught staring “Nothing.” You glanced up at him to see him still looking at you in amusement. “You’re just really handsome is all, Channie.”
He chuckled at your words “ And you are too sweet, my gorgeous girl.”
You felt the mating claim on your neck tingle at his compliment, so subconsciously  you raised your hand and lightly touched the area. Of course Chris noticed- he never took his eyes off you- and asked in concern “ Does it still hurt?”
“No, just..” There was that blush again. He patiently waited for you to find your words. “Just whenever you say sweet things to me.. It.. tingles.”
The alpha let out a small growl at your admittance, feeling his pants tighten.
“Does yours do that too, alpha?” you asked tentatively.
“Tingle wouldn’t be the word I would use, baby. But I definitely feel the connection in my bite.” He winked at you.
“W-what does yours feel like?”
His stare was piercing into your soul, “Baby. I burn for you.” You gasped as he continued “ It's this ever present heat that dwells within me whenever you are near me.  As if I had been living in a tundra my whole life never knowing warmth and now I’ve suddenly been transported to the desert. Inescapable and all encompassing.”
Oh my fucking GOD
Did he really just say that?!
What the fuck do I say to that?
You were short circuiting. You just couldn’t believe this perfect specimen of a man was spilling his heart out to you, in a public diner no less!
Your pleased scent was cascading off of you in waves at this point, Chan could see the other patrons start to turn to look at you, nostrils flaring. He noticed one alpha man in particular start to fidget in his seat while gazing at you.
Chan narrowed his eyes as if challenging the other male before addressing you, “Time for us to go now, my love.” He threw down a few 20s on the table and stood, grabbing your hand and leading you out. Your alpha was pumping out menacing pheromones, letting others know he wasn’t one to fuck around with.
You finally caught onto what was happening when you saw heads turning to watch you walk out. You clutched harder onto Chan, holding his arm close to you as he led you out.
“ ‘m sorry.” You murmured as you exited the restaurant, climbing into the car as he held the door open for you.
He leaned down and pressed a hot kiss against your mouth, letting it linger for a second before he pulled away.
“Don’t apologize. Not your fault those bastards can't keep their eyes or their noses to themselves.” He gave you a tight smile at you before closing the door once he was sure you were secure.
You couldn’t help but feel like you soured the mood, the guilt beginning to feel like a pit in your stomach. Chan climbed into the driver's seat next to you and started the car. He knew you felt bad about what happened. “Seriously Baby, it’s no big deal. It was about time to go pick up Jinnie and Bin anyways.” He gave you another kiss and you were off.
----------------------------------
Your mood improved slightly after picking up the other two boys, they always brightened your day. Changbin was still slightly sweaty when he got in the car, his musk making you dizzy. As if he could tell he gave you a wink when you looked at him in the folding mirror.
Hyunjin had a large canvas with him that was covered in a sheet blocking anyone from seeing what lies underneath. When you asked him what he had made he blushed and held the canvas close to him, muttering that it was a surprise. Of course Changbin would never let that slide so he relentlessly teased the beta, tugging on the sheet and whining about needing- not wanting - to see it. Hyunjin held his ground and refused each time, slapping the alphas hands away after every tug.
Arriving home Changbin flung his door open and opened your door for you before Chan could, giving his alpha a sly smile when you thanked him. “Ever the gentleman, aren't you Binnie.” You teased him. He nodded enthusiastically.
Jisung greeted you at the front door when you walked in, planting a wet smooch on your cheek causing you to squeal and laugh, pushing him away. “Jisung!”
“Mm say my name again baby.” He leaned in for another kiss but instead licked your cheek quickly then ran away cackling maniacally.
“AHH JISUNG!”
You went to chase after him but were stopped by Hyunjin grabbing your arm gently.
“Ignore him baby, I do.”
You huffed. “Fine.”
The beta snickered and lowered his hand to hold yours, the other still gripping his canvas. “Can I show you something? In my room.”
You nodded “Of course.” He led you up to his room. Chan gave your rear a pat when he passed you.
You had never been in Hyunjins space before. The space was so…Hyunjin. Cream colored sheets and curtains, a big easel by the wide bay windows, shelves lined with paints and mountains of sketch books, and floral paintings covered the walls from floor to ceiling. His bed was unmade but it somehow added to the charm of the room. An artist's room.
He closed the door behind you, and led you to take a seat on his bed. The beta then took the canvas in his hands - still covered- and placed it on his easel. He turned to you and fiddled with his hands. You gave him a patient look, waiting for him to gather himself.
“Promise you won't laugh.” He states.
You made an X over your heart. “Cross my heart, I won't laugh.”
He let out a nervous breath and then tore the sheet from over the artwork.
You weren't prepared for what lay underneath, a gasp leaving you.
It was you. Hyunjin had painted you. In the exact outfit you were wearing now. He made you look ethereal. Capturing your image in a way that felt too perfect. In the painting you were sitting by an open window looking out into a field of flowers.
“Oh my god, Hyunjin.”
He studied your features, looking for any signs of displeasure. He found none.
“I was teaching a class today and the topic we worked on was things that bring you joy.” You looked at him like you were going to cry, tears on your lash line. “The only thing I could think of was you. Of how effortlessly beautiful you are.”
A sob escaped your lips involuntarily. The betas eyes widened in panic, upset he had done something wrong. He rushed to your side and took your hands in his own. “I'm sorry baby! I’ll get rid of it!”
“No!” You demanded, still crying. “ I can’t believe you think of me this way. It’s so beautiful, Jinnie. Way too beautiful to be me.”
He shook his head disagreeing. “ This is how I see you, baby. To me you are the most beautiful girl in the world. I can feel myself falling for you.”
You acted without even thinking about it, and crashed your lips into his. He let out a noise of surprise and you pulled back quickly.
“I am so sorry Hyun-” Before you could finish your sentence he kissed you again. He let go of your hands and brought them up to cup your face, deepening the kiss. He swiped his tongue along your bottom lip asking for permission which you gladly granted, parting for him. He tasted so sweet. Like rock candy, or a jolly rancher. Similar to his scent. It drove you crazy.
He was the first to pull away, your lips chasing his. “You don’t know how badly I’ve wanted to do that.” He rested his forehead against his own, eyes closed and breathing heavy.
You released your own shaky breath, his thumbs wiping away your tears. “I thought you were going to yesterday, when you left me in front of my door.”
“I wanted to. I just didn’t know if you wanted me like I wanted you. Like I need you.” He could smell the sudden flare of arousal emanating from you.
“ I do, Hyunjin. I need you too. It’s still taking some getting used to that it’s ok for me to need you, but I do. I think I’m falling for you too.” You were honest with him and he rewarded you by nuzzling his nose into yours, giving it a peck.
“I won’t do anything to make you uncomfortable, baby.” Though if your smell was any indication you were quite enjoying yourself.
You shook your head, “I’m not uncomfortable Jinnie. In fact I.. I want more.”
“Oh baby.” Hyunjin purred then reattached his mouth to yours and he lightly leaned you back to lay on his bed, hovering above you while he kissed you. He stuck his tongue back into your mouth, massaging your own with the wet appendage.
You let out a squeak when you felt his hand find your thigh, his warm fingers running up and down your skin. Your own hands found the front of his shirt, tugging him closer to you. You felt yourself get drunk on the taste of him.
He slid his hands up to your hips, under your dress, and he drummed his fingers there. Without removing his lips from your skin he peppered kisses from your lips to your chin and down your neck, the opposite side from your mating mark.
“Tell me to stop.” He said in between kisses. “Tell me to stop before I go too far.”
“I don’t want you to stop.”
“Omega.”  His right hand traveled from your hip to your clothed core, thumbing over the wet patch. “Already so wet for me, huh? I haven't even touched you yet. My dirty girl.” You could feel him smirk against your skin, his kisses turning sloppy and wet.
He rubbed against the wet patch through your panties, pushing the material between your folds and stimulating your bundle of nerves.
A small moan slipped from you and you bit your lip. By now your slick was building quickly, completely soaking the fabric.
The beta hummed at feeling it. “I can feel you starting to wet my fingers, baby. Can’t let all that goodness go to waste, can we?” He cooed rhetorically.
Hyunjin laid one more suckling kiss to your chest (that will surely turn into a hickey) then he scooted himself down your body and bunched up your dress to sit over your hips. He finally got a good look at your soaked panties- a pair of green lacy ones. ‘Fitting’ He thought.
He was drowning in the scent of your arousal, being this close was like a slap in the face. He could taste it before he even got his mouth on you. Hyunjin looked up at your red, panting face one last time before closing his eyes and licking up the wet patch on your underwear. He let out the filthiest moan he had ever made when he made contact. In turn making you moan too.
“Ji-jinnie.”
At the sound of his name he reached up and pulled your panties down your hips just enough to lick you with no barrier, then he dove in with his tongue. He swiped it up and down your folds, over the slit, collecting the liquid that leaked from you, drinking it like he was parched. Like he was dying of thirst.
Your hands found his hair and you yanked in pleasure, your back arching. He took that as his invitation to go further, slithering his tongue to circle your clit where he wrapped his lips around it and suckled.
A whine tore through you, so good but wanting more.
“Jinnnnie please”
He hummed in response, the vibrations flowing straight through to your core.
“Nnnnnggghh” you groaned.
He humored you and brought two fingers up to your opening, coating himself in the slick, before pushing in slowly up to the last knuckle.
Your panting got louder at the intrusion. You were finding it difficult to keep quiet with how good it felt, the whole pack probably knows by now anyway. Not that you cared right now, but later you would be mortified. Oh well that was a problem for later.
He gave you a second to adjust, feeling you clench on his fingers every time he licked your bundle, before easing the digits out slowly then back, a steady motion that gradually got quicker as he went. Soon enough he found the perfect rhythm where your moans got the loudest. He paid attention to things like that.
Your thighs were beginning to shake from the pleasure, you knew if he kept it up you would tip into oblivion.
“Jinnie ‘m gonna cum.” You pulled his hair in warning. He stayed steadfast, if anything he licked harder trying to get you there. After only a few more thrusts of his fingers you came with a cry, hips bucking against his face and hands knotted in his blond locks.
‘Damn she sounds divine when she comes’ He mused in his head, instead letting a moan of his own escape him at the taste of your cum and the sweet sounds you made for him.
He pulled his fingers out of you and lifted his face to show you the wetness that covered the bottom half of his face. Then he made a show of sucking those same fingers into his mouth, eyes rolling when they hit his tongue.
“Hyunjin!” You squealed and hid your face, “That's so dirty!”
“Only for you, baby.” It hurt how sincere he was. “Do you wanna continue, or was that enough? I don’t wanna push you too far.”
Even though you were a little sensitive from the last few days you still wanted him. “ Wan’ you Jinnie. Need you.”
He stood quickly to pull down his pants and underwear, revealing his length to you. It was so pretty. Long but on the slimmer side. Drool worthy.
He removed his bottoms from himself completely, and pulled his shirt up over his head letting you get a good look at his slim but fit figure. He was tan like he had been in the sun recently. He reached into his bedside table for a condom, remembering what his alpha had said about not cumming in you. Yet. He quickly rolled it on.
He got back on the bed and crawled up your body to hover over you, where he then gave you a peck on the mouth. “Are you sure, baby?”
“Yes. Please Hyunjin.” you purred.
He groaned “You’re gonna kill me one day.”
The beta took himself in his hand and lined himself up, sweeping through the liquid to coat him, then slid inside inch by inch, giving you time to adjust to him.
Your arms came to wrap around his bare shoulders, a long drawn out moan in his ears like the most beautiful melodies.
You were so warm inside, and you gripped him like a vice so tightly he almost stopped breathing. After a beat he gave you a gentle thrust, then another and another, going deeper with each one. He took one of your thighs and wrapped it around his waist to press himself further into you, letting you feel his weight. If he died now he would die a happy man, having gotten a taste of what it’s like to be with you.
With each thrust you let out small high pitched noises, unable to contain them. Not that Hyunjin wanted you too. It wasn’t long before you were close to the edge once again. You were still worked up from the last one.
Hyunjin could feel his impending orgasm but he needed you to come first. He brought two fingers up to your mouth and ran them along your lips gathering the drool that was accumulating there. Then he took those same digits and lowered them between your bodies to your clit, where he rubbed hard figure 8s.
That seemed to be all you needed, your arms tightening around him as you came hard on his cock. Your eyes screwed shut as you moaned.
When you came you clenched hard. Hard enough to push Hyunjin to orgasm, he crashed his lips into yours and he shook against you as he filled the condom.
For a few minutes he just held you there against him, both of you breathing hard. He wasn’t an alpha so he didn’t have to worry about a knot and was able to slip out if you easily. He held the condom secure as he did so, then stood up and quickly took it off and disposed of it in the trash can in the corner.
You were still panting but coming too as he stood up. Can’t believe that just happened. There was a twinge of guilt for it, but that was quickly replaced with peace when Hyunjin gave you that signature grin with his pouty lips.
He came back to his bed where you were still laying and plopped down next to you, giving you a kiss. “How was that, baby? Are you feeling ok?”
“Mmhmm” You answered, snuggling up to the beta, needing the after sex comfort.
“I hope you don't regret it.” His voice was timid now, as he put his face in your hair. "Don't regret me."
“No Hyunjin, of course not. I could never regret you.” There was zero hesitancy in your voice so he knew you were telling the truth. Chan had given you explicit permission, encouraged it, so there was nothing to regret. It felt good to be loved and wanted by these boys. Hyunjin definitely made you feel that way.
He showed it by taking care of you now, getting up to grab you some water and a fresh pair of underwear from your room. Then he plopped down next to you once again and engaged in some cuddles. You could get used to this.
A/N: Finnnnaallllyyyyyy getting some action from the other boys >:) I am so damn proud of this one yall idekkkk. These chapters are quickly becoming more and more self indulgent lol sorry

CYCLE IN, CYCLE OUT. ⎯ a short Minho fiction

Lee Minho x gn. reader
• trope. established relationship, fluffy, comfort
• word count. 0.6k
• notes. felt vv in love w our favorite MC on these 2 kids shows…
Tumblr media
Lee Minho had a scheduled routine. He’d arrive from practice, unload his bag, fix himself a drink, and set up at his desk for the night. It was easy, normal. Occasionally, a beloved feline would climb itself into his lap, curled up while the man continued to work for a few more hours.
But, as he slowly opened the door only to witness you, passed out asleep where he usually sat, he can’t help but feel surprised.
And here Minho was thinking his butt was going to be the only thing making an imprint.
Your cheek, smushed into the skin of your forearm earns a quieted coo, his tone amusedly comforting when you grumble your dismay upon being poked. Time and time again he’s reminded of how enamoring you are. …Even when there’s drool smeared on your chin.
“Min…” You whine, half-asleep expression knitting with obvious frustration. He carefully (as if you weighed nothing) rolled the chair back, leaving just enough space that he could fit in between and see you face level.
Ducking down, Minho smiles giddily, head tipped to the side just like Soonie does, curious.
“Mm Bubby? What’re you doing sweetness?” He’d whisper, index tenderly swiping some saliva from off your slightly parted lips.
Good sleep, he thinks, chuckling to himself. You’re too cute for him to handle.
And if you had to name one trait of Minho’s you absolutely adore, right now it’d be is ability to turn on that “lovey-dovey” mode. That sugarcoated, saccharine voice he spoke to the kitties with.
It made you melt, even while barely conscious.
“..Bed…” You say, the words coming out as more of a grumble than anything, though your boyfriend seemed to translate no problem.
“Bed? Is my Y/n sleepy?” He teased, waiting to see if your biting ego takes action to no avail.
Minho, eyes softening, already begins shuffling his arms beneath your elbows, a reassuring peck to the outside of your lips causing you to involuntary grin — one that’s quickly returned.
Wrapping your legs around his waist like a tree-hugging Koala, a sturdy hand finds purchase on the back of your thigh, another sweeping disheveled strands of hair away from your eyes along the way.
You both release loud sighs of utmost relief upon flopping down onto the bed, his fingers nimbly unhooking the clasp of your bra while removing his shirt, allowing either of you supreme comfort. Not sexual nor inviting (not like you had any energy anyway), but familiar, loving.
“Long day?” You muttered, his equally familiar palms slipping beneath your top, simply resting atop your stomach. His groan is enough of an answer, breath deepening, eyelashes dusting closed.
Minho habits most people aren’t aware of? He’s touchy. Touchy in terms of wanting to know you’re there, feel you beside him while he sleeps whether that’s his knee wedged between your legs or a chin nuzzled into your shoulder when you wake up.
You love it. The sore shoulder blades, him kicking you from a nightmare, it’s always enjoyable.
You wouldn’t take it back for the world.
Before he would’ve stayed hunched over work for hours, graced by the enjoyable yet lonesome company of his kitties awaiting an unseen bedtime. Cycle in, cycle out.
Except, the first day you walked into his apartment, that loophole routine changed, drastically.
And for the better.
Like tonight, curled up around you like a protective blanket, his hair tickling the back of your neck, chest flush against the expanse of your bare back.
You understand each other, understand without having to say anything. Unspoken consideration, love. Consuming love.
Hard work, busy schedules, nonstop. But arriving home and finding you filling that once empty space, you who he loved with everything in his being, made everything feel worth it.

hi! im so glad ur doing well, my dash did feel a lil empty without your blurbs and random posts c:
if you're still in the writing mood, steve and unconsciously searching out each other’s hand while sleeping or not realizing they’re holding hands till someone points it out got me all soft and i think you'd write something cute w it :(((
🧡
Maybe it was paranoia. Maybe it was that animal part of your brains, the one Murray always spoke about, the part that quietly told you all there was safety in numbers.
Maybe it was because you’d all gone through enough to realise there were indeed very real reasons to be scared of the dark.
Movie nights turned into sleepovers, never really planned, but always wholly accepted. Bodies on couches, on the floor, sleeping bags pulled from attic spaces and kids crushed together top to toe on the pullout in the Wheeler’s basement. Someone on an old recliner, a blanket pulled from a picnic basket to use to keep warm, heaps of pillows making a patchwork on the floor, socked feet pressed to thighs because even in sleep it was nice to know your friends were close.
Maybe that’s why it happened.
A night of watching Jaws, everyone chewing on popcorn and pretending that there wasn’t something evil outside, something lingering in the dark that was so much worse than a big fish called Bruce. Before the credits could roll, before the spilled candy could be cleaned up, people would nod off one by one, soft snores becoming a well heard lullaby.
It was only you and Steve left, squished in the corner of the floor, sandwiched against the couch that Max and Eleven had claimed, your backs only just saved by a mismatch of sleeping bags and cushions reserved for the patio furniture in the summer. The TV buzzed with static, an indigo glow barely lighting the room and Steve had long lay down, cheek pressed to his pillow as he whispered back to you.
The conversation was never light hearted, not anymore, not even in the midst of a sleepover. Worried words always exchanged, knots between brows and an unsettled feeling in stomachs because everyone was past believing it might actually be okay this time.
Something had to give. Right? Right?
So sleep didn’t come easy, not when your last words, last thoughts were about survival and risk taking, about your friends getting hurt or worse. The chocolate coating your tongue turned to dust and everything tasted sour, so you stared into the dark until you felt it staring back, and only then did you close your eyes.
Sleep still didn’t come. It taunted you, teased at you from behind your eyelids, pulling you downdowndown until the sharp prod of the beginnings of a nightmare jerked you back awake.
At some point, when you lingered between sleeping and not, something touched your wrist. Something warm and heavy and comforting. You barely registered the feeling of it sweeping over your pulse, fingers bigger than yours curling over your palm, catching at the spaces between your own until you were holding on for dear life.
Something in the back of your mind told you it was safe, it was better now. You could sleep, it was okay, someone was looking after you.
A body, nudging a little closer, careful not to touch, but a solid wall of warmth beside you, a familiar scent, a thumb running circles over the back of your hand.
You didn’t wake until morning, after Nancy had stepped over your sleeping frame to start making coffee. You would’ve followed too, offered to help by pulling out mugs and cups, but something kept you tethered to the floor.
A hand in yours, fingers intertwined a little looser than before, but there all the same.
Steve.
The boy was still beside you, closer than when he’d fallen asleep, his nose dangerously near your own, his soft breaths huffing out warm air over your joined hands, clasped between your faces. He looked the most peaceful you’d seen him in months.
The lilac bruises under his eyes were still there, but his pink lips were parted lazily, lashes kissing his cheeks, his hair softer than you’d seen and falling into his eyes. He had a crease along his jaw from the sleeping bag zip, an indent of each stitch, pushed into his skin beside each freckle.
Someone stretched and groaned and the boy shifted, only just, nose wrinkling, lips pouting, his hand grasping yours a little tighter - as if even in sleep, he didn’t dare lose you.
You heard Nancy crack some eggs into a bowl, the coffee machine gurgling.
You stayed, holding onto Steve as tightly as he held onto you - if only until it was time to wake up.

There's something to be said for the strangeness of therapy and understanding not only why you do things, but why certain things make you feel like Death for no reason and sometimes why other people do things as well.
And its all well and good except its... tiring.
You go, you pay, you scoop out the seeds and flesh with a blunt spoon until you hit the rind, and then you sit there across from a sad, kind professional while the two of you try to sort out how to put it back together.
And no one thanks you for it outright. Your mom calls and you actually pick up for the first time in a month and she says you sound clearer. Your brother has nothing to say about the amphetamines in your bag because he knows something changed enough that he says an "I love you" at the end of a visit and gets one back. Your wife pulls you back to reality and you find affection and touch tolerable enough to do the same for her the week after without your skin crawling.
But then you start to feel muscles pull and things strain. Anger comes (real anger, not snapped frustration, not survival fighting, but deep, indignant flares) and it fires like an engine left to coagulate for years. It feels like an unwieldy hammer too large to control and too easy to swing all at once. You're afraid to pick it up. You're more afraid to have it taken away again.
So you start to demolish your own foundation. You find the rotten pylons holding up your childhood and leave them in the mud. You cannot move them now, only balance new beams better than your parents did.
Then the hardest room is next. The cozy sitting room with the day bed you kept open all hours and days for anyone to rest on, it goes down with the rotten floor. You never knew the mold had reached out here--you thought that was hidden behind the other doors, under your own bed, not in this space. Not here in the warm light of pride, of being kind and useful, where you curled up in too small of a chair and basked, knowing you had earned love with your tired limbs and heavy eyes. You drag the day bed to the curb and apologize to everyone who knocks. The new floor is bare and cold, the silence echoes in the empty room, but you start to ponder what color paint you might like to decorate yourself in. The roller is lighter than you expected. Maybe the bedroom deserves a coat.
And you brace for some pushback. Not everyone likes the color. Someone else compliments the new couch (only a couch now, an overnight bed for the cats and no one else) and someone else asks why you took the old one to the dump without telling them first. Some of them leave. Some of them put a crack in your newly painted drywall as they do. Others stay, asking if movie night is still on. You wipe your eyes and sweep the dust and ask if they'd like a drink before starting. The foundation shivers, but the walls remain.
Its mundane and earth-shattering and boring and the most terrifying all at once. No one will stop you from quitting. Healing is voluntary and the easiest responsibility on a long list to drop, and yet now that the mold is gone you understand, maybe, what it might be like to even want a home in your own mind and skin. Not a hotel, carefully crafted with beige walls and fluffed pillows, but a home.

Warm Winter
Werebear x Human!Reader
Synopsis: Your teddy be- i mean werebear partner doesn't like you out in the cold
AO3
we need more monster fluff
Tumblr media
Cold weather was a given living so far out in the woods, winter was when it got bad with the mountines of snows and skin biting blizzards, below freezing temperatures and scared fresh food other than meat and canned rations. Keeping a ental note to try and make and indoor greenhouse somewhere in the cabin to grow fresh produce when the spring thaw arrives. The small cabin as big enough and sturdy enough to keep the harsh elements of a mid november snow storm out, through the wind crept in through what cracks crevices it could find, another mental notes of what needed repairs.
Your partner slept more during these months to conserve energy, curling up on a makeshift bed of fur pelts and stolen camping equipment. You, however, didn't have that biological need to sleep for months on and off, becoming restless staying in bed all day. So you built a routin for the colder months, put in place when the sun starting setting earlier over the dusted white treetops and frozen over lakes. Keeping as quiet as possible, as not to disturb the ball of nesting fur in the bedroom. You saved the outdoor activities and chores for the warmer seasons, those usually consisted of fixing and repairing the damange the winter war has done, building up the little fort the two of you call home al over again, hoping it can survive another battle against the elements.
The cabin didn't have a lot of rooms, just a bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom, not much but it's home. You always leave the bedroom for later, giving it a deep clean in the fall before your partner goes to sleep and in the spring when your partner wakes up.
The first thing you do is start a fire, the small woodburner in the living is enough to provide heat for most part in the cabin, a massive wood pile sat beside it, another one sat in the kitchen by the stove. All lovingly chopped by your partner before they decided to crash for the winter.
Next you start on the kitchen, checking the food preservatives in the pantry and marking down what was running low and what was due to be expired soon down on a clipboard they brought a year years back when you asked if they had another to keep records for food during winter, knowing your partner it was from a campsite of unsuspecting campers who didn't know or didn't care they were in a bears' territory.
Picking up a bucket and broom on your way out, wanting to dust and sweep both the living room and kitchen. Thankfully the place stayed clean throught most of the colder months due to your being the only one active. Walking over to the bathroomand putting the bucket in the tub, the sink was too shallow for it, and walking back out to pick dust the shelves and organise. A quick glance outside, the snow has picked up into a light blizzard, white specks dances around in the air in rapid movments, the landscape now a frozen white desert. It was going to be a rough night, silently you prayed the cabin could stand up against it and keep you both warm and safe.
Finding a new place at the moment is less than desirable.
Retriving the bucket from the bathroom and turing off the tap, it was barely half full but everything needs to be conserved during the winter season. A loud bang rang out throughout the cabin, startling you, nearly making you drop the bucket. The source of the noise was one of the indoor shutters that flew open from a strong gust of wind, hastily you put the bucket down and , as quickly as you could, placed it back in its place, hoping no heat escaped.
An errie quite falls over the space, listening for movement, waiting to see if the noise distrubed the snoozing mass. A low growl emitted throughout the small space, the beast was awake and fully aware of a certain human missing from the nest. The sound made you froze, stopping the sudden repairs on the window shutter.
"I'll be there in a minute." you call out, finishing securing the shutter in place and closing it, latching it shut. Turing around you come face to face with the recently awoken werebear, grumpy and tired their sleep was interupted, standing hunched over in the door frame, staring you down. "I was just cleaning, I was going to come back to bed once I'm done." You attempt to explain.
Your explaination does very little as you're lifted up into the air and over their shoulder, dragged back to the bedroom, all chores supposed to be done be damned.
A strained groan leaves your throat as you get dropped with force onto the makeshift bed, then a heavy, hulking figure practiaclly collapse on top of you as soon as you make contact with the pile of fur and equipment. Smiling, you put up a fake struggle, squirming around to try and break free. Another growl is heard, a warning to stop it, still you continue to movie, trying to find a comfy spot. A strong paw traps you, pinning you down by the waist and pulls you in, close enough to feels your bears' warmth but not enough to suffocate you in their fur.
"I had work to do. Who do you think maintains this place while you sleep?" You poke at the soft pile beside you, which grunts in response, too tired to properly respond to your sarcastic remark.
"Mhm, I love you too." another grunt in reply. Rolling over to cuddle in closer, sighing contently, pressing your face into their chest. Feeling them curl around you like a personal heater, a furnace, keeping you warm from the cold. Sleep once again entered your mind, knowing you're not going anywhere any time soon, you let it.
Hopefully you'll be able to get everything you missed done tomorrow, along with what is also planned for that day. Knowing you hace your work cut out for you. Right now you let youself be effectively trapped and pinned to the bed, you decide staying isn't so bad, beside you need rest for the double work you've got set up for tomorrow.

YOU’RE A CRISIS OF MY FAITH.
Tumblr media
You meet him under the brightness of ballroom lights and the vibrant colors of his mask. However, is it a good idea to let yourself be lead by infatuation?
feat. Childe, Kaeya, Kaedehara Kazuha, Lyney, Albedo x gn! reader.
cw/genre: romance, fluff, slight angst in kazuha’s and lyney’s, royal masquerade au. reader wears a dress, mildly suggestive allusions on childe’s (very soft).
i would like to dedicate childe, kaeya and albedo’s part to my dearest @bunny-rambles <3 albedo’s part is dedicated to the sweetest @ssilversiren too !
if you enjoy this, reblogs and comments help more than likes !
Tumblr media
✧ CHILDE
Crossed arms over his chest and a sharp edged smile peeking from underneath his mask. The prince is certainly amused, and not precisely by this gathering he himself hosted.
It’s this feeling. Being unknown; just another face amidst the ebb and flow of a sea of profiles.
What would it be like, to converse with others, with them being none the wiser about his royal status?
Running a hand through his ruddy locks, Childe leans off the wall, something, or rather, someone having caught his attention.
The person is standing on the opposite corner of the room, their skirts as if weaved out of seafoam and tides, cascading to the floor in silky waves of sky. They’re alone, the ornamented wall behind them making them look as an extension of it, a painting without frame; for they stare longingly at the swaying crowd, their frame still, anchored, yet without a harbor.
“Fancy a dance?” A voice you swear you have heard somewhere before asks, causing you to turn around.
Striking sapphire eyes lock with yours, the cheeky smile he sports weakening your knees for a second. He’s dressed finely, in white and red, silver accents decorating the lapels and shoulders of his jacket, matching with the scarlet mask partially concealing the constellations of freckles dusting his handsome face.
You swear you know him. But you don’t at the same time; a crystalline pond at night, argent starlight swallowed by the depths of its abyss.
“Quite the bold request, considering you haven’t even introduced yourself, don’t you think?” You prompt, the stranger’s magnetizing grin drawing one of your own from your painted lips.
“Oh, come on, humor me?” He pouts, drops of cobalt glinting in the previously dull ocean patches of his gaze.
“Hm,” you ponder, bringing a finger to your chin. “How about you give me your name first?” You suggest, tone taking on a playful lilt. He watches the light quality of your dress, sweeping around you, tendrils of a spring wrapped around the delicate curves of your figure.
“A name, huh?” He smirks, and no matter how much you know it’s a bad idea, you find yourself hoping to call his name often in the future.
He knows what he’s about to reveal is an equally bad idea as you swimming in the currents of his pull, and still, he finds himself uttering the appellative he hasn’t heard in ages.
“Ajax. My name.” He whispers, those lips that only promise trouble brushing the shell of your ear.
You smile, your stare glinting not unlike the azurite shimmer that decorates your disguise.
“Very well, Ajax,” you draw out the last word, your voice directing the incognito royal’s heart wildly against his ribcage. “Come and find me.” Is the lingering echo of your words, a seashell’s melody, as Childe watches shades of aquamarine mingling with the crowd.
Perhaps this was not a good choice; but maybe you like the rush that comes with wishing he asks your name, with wishing his hand catches yours.
From the corner of your eye, you spot a wisp of red as you turn a corner down the busy corridors of the palace. You certainly wouldn’t mind if you happened to take Ajax’s half cape off later tonight.
✧ KAEYA
Rows upon rows of glinting masks and flashy clothing fill the luxurious room, the space practically painted in molten gold.
If anyone were to ask you, however, you’d reply this place is hell. The palace’s corridors are labyrinthine as it is, twisting endlessly, the frozen images hanging on their walls unchanging to your widened eyes.
And certainly, the shoves and pushes of a too excited crowd are not helping your mood at all. Exasperated, you grunt for the thousandth time, bunching up the skirts of your lacy white dress, determined to elbow and step your way to the damned ballroom.
Alas, the distant stars had other plans for you tonight.
Just as you were going to decidedly advance a particularly rowdy crowd, a force collides with you from behind, sending you and your unstable high heels against the polished tiled floor.
Except when the impact comes, it is not hard at all.
“My, a beauty like you should be more careful to watch where they’re going.”
You rise your gaze to meet the owner of that smooth teasing voice.
Hair weaved of icicles at midnight, braided to one side, falling over the spotless bronze skin of the stranger’s pretty face. His eyes, or rather, his visible eye, is chilly blue, the biting touch of a sunny morning after a snowstorm. And, unlike the rest of the guests, he’s not wearing a mask. He doesn’t need one either, his mystery-exuding aura, paired with the eyepatch on his right eye, somehow disguise enough.
You clear your throat, trying to act as if you hadn’t been blatantly staring at the man in front of you.
“Why, thanks.” You let out, tone crisp. “I was watching, but apparently someone with no manners wasn’t.” You add, with disdain, glaring at the advancing multitude.
“I don’t disagree.” The enigmatic stranger smiles, a sliver of moon, icy eyes following over your figure as you straighten your skirt.
Then he hums, the crescent of his sultry lips morphing into a smirk.
“Why don’t I accompany you for a while?” He offers his arm to you. “I was just leaving, but seems I’ve found a reason to stay, at least for a while…”
You match his smirk, conflicted at how attracted you don’t want to admit you are to this man.
“Oh? Does it outweigh the reason you were planning on leaving for?”
“I’ll take the risk to find out.” He grins, looping his arm with yours.
In silence interrupted by the joyous multitude, you make your way to the ballroom. It’s odd, the way you feel comfortable next to him, despite secrets and starry nights concealing the truth of his nature. You don’t even know his name…
“Call me Kaeya, by the way.” He murmurs, as if reading your thoughts, his tan hand, adorned in gold and midnight, lacing with one of yours, his other around your waist.
“Pleased to meet you, Kaeya.” You find yourself whispering back, entranced by the mysteries frozen in that shady stare of his.
Perhaps this is wrong, to let your heart out in the falling snowflakes around the flickering spark of this igniting infatuation, and yet, maybe just this once, you feel like you can fly with wings made of ice under a blazing sun.
You don’t regret it. Not when you know you’ll dream of Kaeya’s voice for nights on end. Not when he twirls you around the room, a flurry of snowy clouds outlined by gilded twilight. Not when he pulls you aside, hiding both of you into an alcove, his smooth hand pressed against your mouth, as some guards pass asking for “the prince”.
He definitely looks like one, you think. You don’t have time to dwell on iit as you both run off, hands still laced, into a narrow torch-lit corridor, the night air beckoning you towards the exit.
Danger had never felt so right.
✧ KAEDEHARA KAZUHA
You should have known better.
Better than to trust that bastard.
The nobleman that was supposed to be your date tonight.
It’s not like he didn’t show up, oh, he did alright.
You wish he hadn’t.
Seeing that asshole arm in arm with someone else makes your blood boil, a cold, cruel anger seeping into your bones, its chill enough to burn white-hot.
And yes, perhaps stomping out to the too pretty rose garden was a childish decision, but maybe it was you just exercising self control.
Best to brood than let your tempestuous wrath strike the whole place down.
Storms were only beautiful from a distance, after all.
You heavily sigh, removing the bejeweled mask covering the upper half of your face.
No point in keeping it now, you observe, running a thumb over the faux diamonds embedded over the indigo surface.
How ironic, you laugh, humorless, for your mask to look like a bright starry sky, when all you see the moment you rise your gaze heavenward are dark clouds gathering.
“Pardon my intrusion,” a pleasingly gentle voice begins, just as you were plucking the fading petals of a dying rose, “but are you not feeling up to joining the ball?”
Suddenly, the gloomy night dyes moonlit and crimson: twin pools of sunset regard you, a soft flame, soothingly warm in the chill of the inauspicious night; threads of starlight seem to constitute the man’s hair, almost angel-like in the way it frames his candid face, in the tender way the locks fall over his shoulder, tied in a bright red ribbon, akin to a bouquet of lily of the valleys. Like you, it seems he has discarded his mask, a splash of vermillion held in between svelte fingers wrapped in pale silk.
You greet him with a smile, the previous gales of fury receding, replaced little by little by the nurturing caress of an early autumn wind through maple leaves.
“I could ask you the same question.” You offer, turning your body in his direction, the faint touch of moonlit clouds brushing against your skin.
He shakes his head, tendrils of silver swaying with his movement.
“Let’s just say I prefer the peaceful nature of the outdoors.” He chuckles, sincere, the sound almost transparent in its quality, tiny ripples by a dawn breeze over a mirror-like stream. Then, he tilts his head to the side, silken strands caressing the smoothness of his cheek in ways you know you shouldn’t be dreaming of so soon. “However, I do believe it could prove romantically irresponsible of me to deny someone else this dance, no?” He asks, extending a hand to you.
And you know you shouldn’t feel your face heating up at the protruding tendons over the callous softness of his skin.
“My name is Kaedehara Kazuha,” he finally introduces himself.
Kazuha. You can’t quite tell just yet why you somehow wish that to be forever the name on your lips, nor do you know yet why you find your eyes naturally drifting off to every lash and diminutive freckle so temptingly touching his cheeks.
You don’t know if it’s right either, to take this leap of faith. What if the jump ends in you downfall? Again.
But what if you could swim in a pool of starlight instead? Is the voice whispering in verse into your ear, when you find one of your hands entwined with Kazuha’s, the other resting over the shoulder of his black and red suit jacket.
“It is my pleasure to meet you, Kazuha.” You find yourself smiling back, before introducing yourself.
As your dance partner twirls you around, the warmth of his hand lingering on the small of your back, the overcast skies seem to part. Like a wrinkle in the mundanity of human life, endless sparkling stars cast their gaze over you two, even their moon coming out to take a peek into the couple’s hearts yearning for the fated romance to be.
Splashes of cotton candy pink and cherry crimson sweetly bloom under the argent lights of the enchanted night, even the wilting rose you had been tampering with earlier dyeing in shades of life anew.
Though, to you, in this moment, the only life that matters is the one held in Kazuha’s autumn stare, his tenderness tethering you to the gentle comfort of your head resting against his heart.
Maybe it had already started beating for you, much like yours.
Perhaps some charms begun at midnight.
✧ LYNEY
Throngs of people gather around the Opera Epiclese building and yet, you had never felt so alone.
A sinking feeling settles in your heavy heart, as you pat your now lackluster gown, check your purse, only to come up empty handed.
Your ticket for today’s masquerade ball, seemingly vanished.
Defeated, you sigh, turning on your heel.
What use will be lingering around, with no way to get into the opera house anyway? Things couldn’t have turned out worse.
Or so you thought.
For, seconds later, you would find yourself tripping over the hem of your long dress, ripping it in the process, one of your delicate high heeled shoes slipping off, clattering to the concrete ground, a few feet away from you.
The ruby tear embedded on your mask seems like a mockery right now, salty crystalline tracks streaming down your cheeks.
Luckily, no one will pay you any mind and you’ll save yourself the embarrassment, you try to console yourself.
Alas, the fates didn’t even want to concede you that small salvation.
“Are you alright?” a pleasant voice questions, causing for you to turn around.
And when you do, the man standing right before you is not unlike a spell himself. Violet eyes concealing the secrets of a lifetime spent on the edge of light and shadows regard you through his cat mask, the disguise leaving a maroon tear-shaped mark visible on his cheek, similar to the one on your own mask; his top hat is decorated in shades of rose and night, a purple ribbon around it, its hue almost in tune with the magic of his gaze. Silvery strands sweep over the stranger’s pale visage, slightly ruffled in the ebb and flow of the night’s balmy breeze. And in his hand, he’s holding the fine shoe that caused your fall.
With your face burning in shame, you look to one side, mumbling an affirmative response. You can only be grateful for the crowds starting to dissipate, leaving you and this boy mostly alone.
Kneeling, he carefully slips the shoe on your bare foot.
“Are you sure about that?” He prompts further, helping you up. “You look dressed for today’s ball, however, you were heading in the opposite direction…”
Rubbing at your face, you hang your head low.
“About that… I’m not going anymore…”
“Is that so?” He tilts his head to the side, gaze of iris settling on the torn skirts of your attire.
“I just… it’s embarrassing…” You admit. “I somehow lost my ticket to enter… and well, then I fell, and now besides not having the means to get in, there is no way I look presentable for the occasion anyway…” You chuckle, humorless.
He hums. Then:
“If I may be so bold, I do believe you look lovely.” The mysterious man compliments you, snapping his fingers.
You follow his gaze to your outfit. And when you take it in, your eyes widen. Where there used to be a tear on the fabric, now it’s seamlessly weaved together, sweeping over the nightlit cobblestones. And not only that, but its shade is an even more vibrant shade of carmine now, small sparkly flecks catching the silvery ripples of Fountain of Lucine.
“Wha- Thank you…” You breathe, awestruck, admiring the revived color of your clothes.
“My pleasure.” The magician chirps, with a wink. “Now, would you do me the honor of accompanying me to the ball? It’s starting soon, and I would be very happy if you said yes.”
“I mean… I would love to, but my pass is gone…” You answer, regret lacing your tone.
“Hmm…” He muses, holding his chin in between two fingers. “Can I ask you to look closely now?” He pulls out his ticket, and right there, in the blink of an eye, he slides a second pass from behind the first one.
You gasp, eliciting a soft laugh from him.
“How about now? May I, Lyney, have the pleasure to join you for the night?” He proposes, bowing.
Smiling gratefully, you take his arm, wonderstruck still.
Together, you make your way towards the Opera Epliclese, the tickets safely held in Lyney’s free hand.
When you catch a glimpse of your reflection in the clear surface of the fountain’s waters, a Rainbow Rose adorns your hair.
The magician’s doing, no doubt.
You silently thank Lyney with a smile, and he believes no beam of moon could ever hold a candle to the sight of you.
✧ ALBEDO
Above the hall’s music, an acute faraway sound pulls you out of the forest of masked faces.
The spacious room is lit in gold, luxurious lamps and chandeliers focused on a crowd disguised in velvets and lace.
But, that melody. You can’t quite get it out of your head. You’ve been hearing it all evening, every now and then.
Akin to a gelid river, cutting through blocks of stone-hard ice, making your every hair stand on end when its notes tantalize you with the promise of the gilded reflections of northern lights over the stream’s surface.
You can’t ignore it any further, the flames dancing from ornate candles against the walls seem to murmur.
And even though the impending rushed beat of your heart may be painting danger red all over this possibility, you decide to ignore it, listening to the unknown song’s voice, beckoning you out of the ballroom.
Flecks of gold seem to hang in the air as you make your way through twisting ample corridors, the otherworldly sound welcoming you through a set of double doors, their wood snow white, their handles, crystal.
When you push them open, frozen air appears to settle all around you. It is not unpleasant, though.
In the same way, even though the music has just stopped, the sight before you is not unpleasant either in the slightest.
Amidst the room, a blonde man stands. His gaze, resembling underwater lights at dawn, is set on you. A white shirt with blue and golden accents falls perfectly against his frame.
You don’t miss the way his sleeves are rolled up, nor the tiny multicolored splashes in them.
Which brings you to take in the space around you.
A multitude of paintings line every wall: landscapes of somewhere you can only dream of stepping into; portraits of people you have never met, or have you, in the distance of sweet sleep?; abstract brushstrokes, constituting colors you had never seen before, that you know you won’t see anywhere else.
“Hello,” a soft voice that can only belong to the man in the room utters. “I am Albedo, the court’s alchemist, how may I be of assistance?”
You clear your throat, stammering an apology. He smiles, that sunny sky gaze never leaving you.
“I-I uh… I just heard music and… it seemed to come from here… I apologize for barging in so rudely.”
He gives you a sweet smile. You wonder whether he’s a prince, instead of an alchemist.
“Not at all. Music, you say?” He asks, bringing close to his lips the flute he had been holding. “Did it sound anything like this, perhaps?” Albedo starts to play, notes filling the chamber, colorful blossoms flourishing along snow-covered plains.
You get lost in the sound. In the ethereal aura the prince-like alchemist exudes. He’s as magnetic and entrancing as the melody he plays. Unconsciously, you’ve started to sway, and perhaps a part of you wishes this song was a gift for your ears alone.
At some point, the symphony stops, notes of it, still lingering in the crispness of the atmosphere, despite the closed windows.
“Beautiful.” He utters, tender, the fall of snowflakes atop your open palms.
Warmth creeps up your neck when he steps closer to you, his elegant hands hovering close to your face, to your silver mask.
“May I?” His lips say, rose-colored in the careful lilt of his tone.
Nodding is all the answer you can manage, Albedo’s cool fingertips grazing the side of your cheek.
“Yes, lovely.” He repeats, studying the lines of your mask-free face, the wave of your hair, the sparkles in your wide eyed gaze.
You wonder if he’s ever looked into a mirror, because if he’s presenting you these compliments, no words could describe how utterly breathtaking you think he is.
“Would you allow me to paint you?” Is the question you find yourself nodding to as well.
Beneath the golden lighting of fabricated starlight and with the paradoxically warm caress of Albedo’s cool touch when his hands position you for his portrait, you enter a labyrinth of emotions you only want to brave deeper.
What lies beneath the sunlit layer of snow clinging to Albedo’s every movement?
Perhaps tonight, as he renders you in watercolors, you have already imprinted yourself in his golden encased heart.

Will is good at making decisions.
It’s one of the only things he’s good at, actually. He can’t fight. He can’t control water or lightning or plants. He’s not as smart as Athena’s kids or as charming as Aphrodite’s. He is clumsy and soft-hearted and stubborn. But he is observant, he always has been, and he prides himself in his ability to think ahead. He keeps his infirmary stocked and his siblings on schedule. He reigns in head counsellor meetings and draws up binders and binders of files and projects — he is organised. He watches, he notices, he reflects, he prepares. He’s as impulsive as the rest of them, sure, but he has enough contingencies in place that he’s solid. A solid head on his shoulders, and he knows it — the head medic must.
So when he watches himself, horrified, diverge from his very detailed twenty-nine step process entitled The di Angelo Dilemma: Approaching Friendship like a Normal Person and ask Nico to come over, he considers the possibility that he has been possessed. Maybe the eidolons that fucked everything up the first time around have been crouching in dark corners, patiently awaiting the perfect time to strike and ruin Will’s life.
“See you then,” says Nico, rushing out the door, and Will smiles at him easily, watching him dash across the common, and then he sets aside the folder he’s updating, walks calmly out of the empty infirmary, nodding to Mr. D. as he passes, turns a corner in the hallway, slips into his favourite supply closet, sticks a chair under the door handle, clears his throat, and screams.
It’s one of those good screams, by design; he takes a good deep breath beforehand and lets the sound billow out of him, lets it scrape the sides of his throat raw and reverberate somewhere in the base of his skull. Were he not home in a camp that regularly makes use of lethal weaponry and deadly rivalry, entire armies would come running to his defense. As it is, he is left to fall to his knees and scream until he is hoarse, or until he hears a faint will you shut the fuck up! echo from around the vegetable gardens.
“Why me,” he croaks, giving in and collapsing to the floor.
It’s a nice floor, really. In between breakdowns he returns and decorates the place, sweeping up the dust and covering floors and surfaces with rugs and throw pillows. A guitar leans in the far corner for when his mother is thousands of miles away and he’s feeling sorry for himself. A photo album lives half-shoved under a shelf for when he is in need of punishing. His sketchbook remains in a constant state of almost-full under the one dusty window. (That one carries slightly less general despair.)
He is, upon reflection, somewhat of a disastrous person.
How fitting.
“Ugh,” he says out loud, to himself, and reaches for his guitar.
He has no intention of playing anything worthwhile. In fact he doesn’t even bother tuning it, not that he can very well anyway, and just strums random chords and riffs and yells over a string of flat discortants, at one point, filling the tiny room with noise ontop of noise ontop of noise until everything is gleefully stifling, like a mass of birds clouding the sun, like the thirteenth year of swarming cicadas, like the twentieth layer of July Texan heat. Until the mess is transferred from inside of his head to outside of it. Until he has committed so many musical sins that his father retreats from the sky a full forty minutes early.
“I feel you are at fault,” says Kayla, when he finally returns to their cabin. “For.” She gestures vaguely at The Outdoors.
“Hnnngh,” responds Will, taking three steps and tipping, gracelessly, onto Austin’s bunk, nearly bouncing right off of it. He catches himself, barely, and presses hard into the pillow, curling when his brother makes space for him, when his sister sighs, deliberately loud, and presses her knee into his thigh as she climbs up, too.
“This is your own fault,” Kayla grumbles. Her bony shoulders settle along the dips of his ribs, next to Austin’s thin ankles. “You could talk about things before they blow up in your face, but nooooooo. You run around doing everything yourself. Moron.”
Will swipes the heel of his hand under his eyes, throat garbling a weird snort-laugh-sniffle. Those bony shoulders tip to the side, slowly, until she curls under his chin, dragging Austin down with her. “You’re so mean to me.”
“Sh-h,” Austin says, patting blindly until his palm finds Will’s face, then patting deliberately. His knees press against Will’s, now, forehead inches away, barely clinging onto the too-narrow mattress. “Quiet town now. Reflect in your foolishness.”
“So mean.”
Years ago, exactly how many Will refuses to count, this exact scenario would be met by lots and lots of teasing, by pinched cheeks and cuffed shoulders and a forehead kissed several times over. There would be at least six instruments played at once, a camera flash the second he walked in the door pouting, and more lights on that would ever be necessary. An oft-repeated and never-resolved debate, probably; you coddle him, Cass; oh, shut up, Michael, he’s little. The scent of woodgrain and antiseptic and vanilla. A thousand other details he never thought to memorize.
Now there is quiet, or at least more of it.
Kayla hums, notes muffled as she gnaws on her lip, and Austin’s socked feet tap against the blankets, mapping out the tune playing out in his far-away eyes. The last final glow of the horizon turns red, then orange, then violet, sinking into dark navy blue, and their aunt blinks her way into focus, stretching widely across the thin wisping clouds. The fairy lights wrapped around the pillars and ceiling beams blink alongside the stars, chatting away to each other, and the breeze from the window is soft and warm and almost as sweet as southern jasmine. There is a pit in the dead centre of Will’s chest, and he is afraid Kayla will fall into it, and then Austin; afraid they will succumb to his gaping maw.
“What if I ruin absolutely everything,” he says. He swallows, and then again, and again, because his throat is dry, escape for the burning trails mapping the his face from corner of his eye to mouth. “What if I — scare. Am. What if I’m the reason, again.”
Diana snorts. You are such a drama queen.
And that’s coming from this theatre, Lee adds, gesturing grandly to the gold pillars of the cabin. You’ll be fine, kid.
A chorus of agreements from the rest of the occupied bunks; Kate’s encouraging grin, Leanna’s fond hair ruffle as she dances past, Amir’s wink.
Will smiles and blinks back and he is gone, and Michael’s scowl disappears, and Kate and Phoebe’s laughter fades from the background. The cabin is quiet, shadowy; Austin and Kayla breathe quietly, swallow silently.
“I don’t know,” Kayla admits. “You — could be. Again.”
Will squeezes his eyes shut. He begs for Lee to go back to his sleep for the night. He inhales around the shake and inhales and inhales and inhales and feels the vacuum dead centre in his body, like from navel to spin, twisting, tubing, sucking; take, take, take, take. Can I, can I, can I. I want. Please. Let me have.
“I’m not sure it’s better not to try, though.” Austin’s hands curl around Will’s palm. “Right? You always say to — try. Do your best.”
A smile curls up the corner of Will’s mouth.
“I do.”
“And you did try.”
“I did.”
“Did it fail?”
Will flicks down to meet Kayla’s eyes, squinting one and tucking his chin.
“I asked to come over.”
“Oh, well — okay, Marilyn Monroe. Like that’s a new thing.”
“For no reason.”
“…Oh.”
“I could go on the sand rant, Kayla. I’m like a sleeper agent. As soon as he says it, I’ll — you know.”
Austin shifts, frowning thoughtfully. “I mean, he kind of already knows you’re weird.”
“Not this weird!”
“I think everyone knows you’re weird, actually,” Kayla adds. She wiggles, squirming and elbowing until she is half-perched on the fleshy part of Will’s waist, ignoring his wheezing. “Being a nerd dork loser is kind of your whole thing.”
“It is not!”
“You have binders dedicated to people, Will.”
“That’s not bad!”
“Specifically on how to best socialize with them, Will.”
“That’s — thoughtful!”
“…Sometimes being related to you is hard.”
“I am! Collecting data! To better my relationships! What is the issue!”
Austin and Kayla exchange a meaningful look — which does not, Will is relatively certain, usually involve putting your entire palm on your brother’s face and shoving it so it cannot be seen. Kayla.
“You’re doomed to fail,” they decide. And then they kick him off the bed, which is rude, but he is weak to their giggling, and it’s bedtime for them, anyways.
As per his carefully outlined routine they are sent to the showers and sinks, back in half an hour, bickering. As per his less carefully outlined but nonetheless regularly present routine they are separated physically from each other and shoved to seperate bunks. As per his most carefully outlined routine, he follows them each, ignoring their complaints, and presses the back of his hand to each forehead, closing his eyes as he lets his life force bleed into theirs, mixing, checking, making sure.
“We’re fine,” Kayla grumbles.
“Shut up and cough,” Will orders.
Austin gives him less trouble. Will makes a show of thanking him for it. Kayla throws her extra pillow. Will takes it, placing it on his own bed. It is silent after he says goodnight, silent as he clicks off the light, gathers his caddy, pads to the door.
“Goodnight,” whispers a voice, half hidden by the creak of the screen door as he opens it.
“Goodnight,” whispers another, half hidden by the cream of the screen door as he closes it.
“Goodnight,” Will repeats, grinning. “Sleep well, kiddos.”
They grumble, and their bedsprings groan as they turn away, mimicking the grate of the rickety porch steps. That, at least, is familiar; that at least matches the echoes that bounce around the walls of the cabin and the inside of his skull.
