A character I mentioned getting screwed over by Fate due to wafiu-ism is Medb, but another that got completely screwed over is Penthesilea, and unlike Medb, I can't really identify why. She got given a bad deal in being introduced in Agatha but she is probably one of the easiest characters to drag out that dumpster fire, there is so many ways to take her character and so many relationships she has to other characters. She and Asclepius shared a writer, he must have seen that it was Penthesilea nephew, Hippolytus, that was raised from the dead, why doesn't she comment on that? In most versions of the story it is the Amazons, lead most likely by her, that accidently kill Hippolytus's mother, in this case most likely Antiope, shouldn't that be addressed? She must feel a lot of guilt over that. She is Romulus's half sister but they don't have voice lines for each other. Penthesilea is a character that had and still has a lot of ways to be explored, but they keep on focusing on this hatred of Achilles for what was a comment that doesn't really matter and it just annoys me, and TM can still do it, they can still expand on her character but it seems like they don't want to. I just wish more people would be able to appreciate who Penthesilea is as a character, the amazoness event was a good start, showing her leadership skills and also it was funny, but I just wish their was more. Also she doesn't have her iconic leopard skin cape, which is lame, give her the damn cape, it might be petty, but it shows how good of a fighter she is!

Sorry this took a while to get back to but I had to look into Penth's myths more. I knew a lot less about the Amazonians than I thought, like the fact they get their name from the belief they would cut off a breast so they could better use a longbow. Holy shit that is metal.

I feel like Penth is a character torn between Nasu's obvious adoration of greek mythology and FGO's priority of making sure there's not such thing as a strong independent female character who doesn't have some sort of caveat that makes it so they wont "Scare off" the (believed) target whale audience of insecure men. The end result is a character with a lot of qualifiers and self contradictions that are best resolved by sweeping her under the rug entirely.

I'm not against the idea of her being obsessively angry with Achilles; there's a ton of potential in that and if done right it wouldn't just boil down to "Oh this character is a badass bc we want to make sure you know this other character is an even better SUPER MEGA badass" unlike......actually I was gonna give a snarky "cough X cough" example but there's too many to pick from. Regardless, this post does a great job outlining what i mean and goes a step beyond by framing it in fate specific lore.

But they obviously didn't do that in the game. She never even had enough substance to commit to that level of deeper meaning (though the stuff that post talks about is very much hinted at in her dialogue) and that's because of the aforementioned "just pretend it doesn't exist" approach to an amazonian queen and how it's at odds with the gacha status quo. Not a real status quo, mind you, I think I speak for all of good taste when I say if Penth was a take no shit unflappable badass commander I would love her more for it not less. I'm talking about this ASSUMED belief on the part of those wringing money out of things that the only market is straight insecure men who want someone to be dependent on them. I'm sure you already know this and that it's exactly what you meant by "screwed over by waifuism" but I want to outline it because it makes clear just how at odds a character like Penth is. Her design, her mannerisms, her story relevance or rather lackthereof, all of it is them trying their damndest to skirt around the obvious. To restate what i've said time and again, these things aren't always inherently issues, but things that would normally be innocuous become problematic when you know there is a specific malicious intent.

In fact that's exactly why even though as I said her hatred for Achilles could be an incredible point of depth, it still ends up being on the list of problematic things with her.

Penth is obsessed with a man, and she specifically hates him, and even though she's clearly shown to not hate all men, her character is hyperfocused on that hatred of Achilles in order to make it "special" that she doesn't hate you (with the game as per usual being written with a clear assumption that the player is male); her 4th ascencion and bond 5 lines post name reveal are EXTREMELY on the nose about this, basically labeling you "the exception" to her not wanting to be seen as a women first and foremost, and portraying her desire for otherwise to be childish and naive.

Which brings me to the part that killed my interest in her as a character. She's retroactively de-aged which, on top of just being fucked up and so very very problematic for completely standalone reasons, means they can have their cake and eat it regarding her design. She's fixated on the events that happened at the end of her life how they define who she is, yet they don't have to actually portray her as that person. Supposedly she pulled a liz because she doesn't want to be seen as the same beautiful person Achilles fell in love with. She wants to be seen as a warrior first and foremost. Ok, if she's obsessed with being seen as a warrior then why doesnt she wear any armor? Why doesn't she have her golden belt, or her famous leopard pelt, or her crescent shield, or her helm? I'm fine with her not wielding a bow or lance, in fact IMO her (afaik completely original) ball and chain wielding along with the claws is easily her best aspect in terms of character design. But not even a mention of archery, the thing from which the amazons got their name? I'm not asking to show a mutilated chest or something, if she's younger and doesn't yet have to worry about that sort of thing that's a chance to have your cake and eat in a GOOD way! (and obviously ILR breasts are not going to be an issue with archery but baseless myths like that have affected character design before so...) But again, they don't do any of that. She's barely got anything on and nothing indicative of warrior status aside from the weapons themselves, which is such a blatant contradiction of their own in-universe reason for her appearance. If she's so obsessed with looking like a warrior, why is she wearing almost nothing and her FA is a stereotypical "undressing by waterside" portrait? Actually I know why, it's in addition to stupid eye candy garbage to the convey that this is an act, that she's obsessed with being this perfect warrior but at the end of the day under that nonexistent armor is a human being like anyone else. The mask has to come off eventually...

...even though what she aspires to doesn't have to be inherently wrong or something to live in denial of. Which brings me to the last, and arguably even more damning aspect. She's portrayed as childishly wrong. They emphasize her anger as something along the lines of denying reality and "going through a phase" even if they state otherwise. They try and dress it up with materials and such but there's a very clear tone of bullheaded recklessness she's written with, like someone who won't admit they're wrong and instead pushes back violently against being challenged. She's portrayed as arrogant, not proud. She's portrayed as brash, not determined. She's portrayed as in denial, rather than rightfully frustrated. She's portrayed as if she's a stubborn child who is in the wrong, and her one true story role having her be...THAT in agartha really makes that even more overt.

Penth COULD be an amazing character as you and that post point out. She COULD be an absolute badass with her own identity and expand on her in a dozen different ways without losing anything. But they won't, because that's not their intention. They don't WANT to write her as the best character she could be because that would go against the perceived market they're trying to cater. They would never admit it, but she's written condescendingly. Because in the context of a waifu obsessed gacha, she is patronized simply by existing.

Which is sadly why I think I failed to have a great time. The only Sam Raimi movie I know to my knowledge were his Spider Man movies. Like...I knew of the Evil Dead Series, and though I enjoy the paranormal, horror isn't exactly my fave genre. Because of this, to me the final end credit didn't have the same effect as Deadpool's fourth wall breaking 'go home already' thing, and felt like they were calling me a loser nerd with strong 90's/early 00 when it was a more serious insult for waiting for the second credit seen that has now been established as a Marvel thing. Like yeah, they really did make me feel like I wasted my time there and got shamed for it rather than it being a treat. Maybe Sam Ax fans liked it, I didn't. Add that the retcon/ignoring of WV.... This movie was just a lesson to me to temper back my expectations of MCU movies by a LOT going forward.

Do you buy your comics physically or do you read them online? I've been trying to get more into comics but with there being a lot of them, I never know where or how to start.

Yeah. Honestly, I'm seeing this fairly often when it comes to this movie actually. I've seen exactly what you're saying from quite a few people. I think the age/genre gaps of what Raimi does missed the mark with a fair amount of people. Sam Raimi has a style and a "brand" at this point. and if you aren't old enough to know it i guess or don't follow him outside of things like his Spider-Man movies then you kind of "miss" some of what makes a Raimi movie a Raimi movie.

I will say.... While Evil Dead movies are "horror" genre.... they are very COMEDY too. and Campy. So, you might enjoy them more than you think??? as I am NOT a horror genre fan either and I like them a lot. (tho i also grew up on them a bit and love Bruce Campbell) Campbell's cameo was FUN for me.

but I've also admitted I left the theater before the second credits scene, where you said you felt basically insulted, because I was so excited about Clea's introduction I like... just couldn't comprehend anything else after and took off. I did not give ONE shit about what came after that and LEFT. I didn't get the "are you dumb? the movie's over" experience from Campbell's character. I'm sure with the director and actor it was meant as a fun little moment...... but you are NOT alone in feeling a bit let down by it... even insulted. And that is definitely not what you want to feel as an audience member. I'm sorry it left that mark on you. I wish a Doctor Strange movie had given something more fulfilling.

Yeah, and on top of it not really being a true Doctor Strange movie. it still kind of just skimmed past or seemed to kind of ignore some WandaVision stuff, so I get you there. If we were gonna focus on Wanda like..... then.... let's go all in then!! let's GO! but they still just... skimmed it a bit. and then we ended up with this movie that was this kind of limbo between Wanda and Strange and left me, personally, feeling a bit wanting for more from either or both of the characters. We didn't even get a true parallel story for them, given how they skimmed Supreme!Strange's story and over the "hypocrisy" of Stephen using the Darkhold (which could be and might be revisited in future movies) but. it just didn't feel... like... a complete... or whole story. because it just danced around between Wanda and Strange and didn't complete any of their interconnecting threads, imo.

I would definitely temper legit expectations of MCU movies. Like, just try to understand... these are not actually long long term thought out arcs, they're actually very much like comic book story arcs/events.... ignore how much interviews with Feige will try to sell you that they've thought all this through years and years in advance. They're also here to put butts in seats, so even if planned out they WILL adjust just to get more butts in seats.

On the Comics themselves. Let me make a separate post for that right after this that I hope you see because this post is already long, as I get longwinded about Doctor Strange

Jasper, Jacob, and I were all standing in a large field awaiting the arrival of Bella and Edward. The very field we were standing in would be the battleground between us and the newborn army.

"Hey, le... Fleur?" Jacob asked."

"Hmm?"

"Why haven't your diluted eyes at all? They still look like a rose." Jacob observed.

"I mean it hasn't been a full year yet."

"Yes, darling but... they should've at least diluted a little by now, amber should start to peak through." Jasper added.

"That's strange...I haven't had any human blood I swear."

"Yeah right..." I heard Jacob mumble.

"Oh shove it, Jacob, at least I'm not in the middle of a toxic, manipulative, love triangle."

"Can it leech. You know nothing about Bella."

"Keep telling yourself that."

Before Jacob could rebuttal, Edward and Bella finally showed up. Edward didn't look thrilled at all and Bella had a blank look on her face.

"I don't like this idea at all." Edward grumbled.

"And we need you for the fight but you aren't coming to that so...tough, get over it." I rebutted.

"Leave him alone Fleur...he's doing it for me. Bet Jasper hasn't done that for you." Bella said a dreamy look was in her eyes.

"Uh...he didn't have to, because I didn't cause chaos where ever I went and didn't piss off nomads you dumbass." I heard Jasper let out a short laugh.

"Wait, pretty boy isn't fighting, aww did you pull a muscle?" Jacob mocked.

"Can we get on with this... I wanna be anywhere but here." I interrupted.

"Whatever, just tell me the plan." Jacob said.

"Edward and I are going on a campsite, even if he carries me they’ll still pick up our scents." Bella explained.

"Your stench, however, is revolting." Edward interrupted

"Dude, you really don’t wanna start comparing stinks." Jacob snapped

"What he means is that your scent will mask mine if you carry me," Bella said.

"Done."

"This is not a good idea."

"You've already established that Edward," I said.

"Edward, they won’t wanna get anywhere near his... odor." Jasper carefully.

Jacob picked Bella up before saying... "Odor-de-wolf comin’ up."

Edward glared at me when Jacob was gone. Jasper noticed this and tensed up.

"You need to stop talking to her like that!"

"Like what? Truthfully, honestly?"

"It's not truthful it's insulting!"

"Dude...have you been living without any of your senses? The amount of shit she has said and done to me is a lot more disgraceful than how I am acting. Like I am petty, I know I am, but her pretending to be all innocent is hilarious."

"Oh please..."

"Okay so when she insults me and brings up that my mother completely hates my guts it's fine but when I rebuttal it's like I'm opening the gates of hell huh?"

"You don't know anything about her... she isn't malicious!"

"You sound just like Jacob."

"Don't even compare me to that...fleabag."

"What are you gonna do about?" I said he then got up close to my face, he looked like he was going to hit me.

"Don't test me Fleur... I will put you in your place if I have to."

"I'd love to see you try...boy." Jasper said getting between the two of us.

Edward snarled at us and walked away, stalking off to the far side of the field.

"Man... being a vampire has definitely amped up my attitude. Good thing you're here to stop me from doing something stupid." I joked.

"I think you're spending too much time with Rosalie darlin." Jasper said, smiling at me.

"This whole love triangle thing makes me want to set myself on fire. I kinda feel bad for Jacob...I know she's just manipulating him."

"I wouldn't put it past her darlin."

"I really wish we didn't have to do any of this...we should be getting married right now... not fighting a battle they could possibly be getting us killed." I confessed.

"Well one, we just have to wait until November... and two we will be fine, we've been training all this time."

"I know but...it's still a terrifying thought, this is the first fight I've ever been with another vampire."

"Did you forget about James love?"

"Well... with me as a vampire."

"You're going to be fine... Alice told me the vision she had of you fighting James, you cracked his skin by throwing a rock.... if you're that strong as a human I'm scared to see what you can do as a vampire."

"Okay, okay... stop trying to boost my ego." I said smirking, I pulled him in using some of my strength. I kissed him before pulling apart, biting his lip to tease him."

"You're cruel darlin, just cruel... Oh forgot to say something..."

"What is it?"

"Bella and Edward got engaged."

"Oh my god... are you serious?"

"Yeah, and Alice said they planned on eloping in Vegas."

"She must be really angry with those two..."

"Actually, she isn't really that mad."

"Okay, what happened to Alice?"

"I think she's starting to get a little... annoyed with Bella."

"It was bound to happen... Dad is going to kill Edward."

Edward ran toward us again and told us to be quiet. Before I could ask why Bella and Jacob came back into view.

"Well Jasper and I will do a quick sniff check... you three can stay here and.... mingle." Before they could protest we took off into the woods.

"The stench is revolting."

"It is pretty bad."

"I can't make up any Bella though, so the plan worked."

We quickly ran back down to the field, both of us had stepped down off of a broken tree laying on the ground.

"Just picked up wolf stench, no Bella." Jasper stated

Timeskip: 2 hours later

I was waiting for Alice in the Cullen's house, knowing that Alice told dad we were all going on a camping trip. I thought it would be good if we all hunted before the battle to power up. I needed all the strength I could get.

"I swear if Bella and Edward do anything in our room I am going to kick Edward to the moon." I grumbled.

"Don't worry Fleur...I'm sure Edward won't do anything." Jasper reassured, a guilty look was on his face, however.

"You threatened him didn't you?" Not buying his innocent act.

"Yes, yes I did."

"Alright everyone, we can go!" I heard Alice say outside, Dean, Jasper, Rosalie, Emmett, Esme, Carlisle, and I all made our way outside quickly.

Timeskip: 6 hours later

"Damn Emmett, at this point you're going to put bears into extinction."

"Serves them right short stack."

"Dude I am 5'9, that's pretty tall for a girl."

"But pretty short for someone who's 6'5."

"Oh shut it and hit your head in the doorway again."

"Darlin, if he keeps doing that the support beams are going to give out in the house." Jasper added.

"Nah they'll be fine, he's as tall as a support beam." I joked.

"Can't wait to kick some newborn-vampire ass," Dean said, jumping up slightly in excitement. Alice giggled and wrapped her arms around him

"Are the newborns still making their way to the field Alice?" Carlisle asked.

"Yes, they should be here at 5:15 pm tomorrow."

"We'll be ready," Carlisle said.

"You guys go ahead in, I need some quiet. I'm going to try and track Victoria."

They all nodded and went inside, I saw them all however observing me through the glass walls."

I got into my trance, rolling my eyes behind my head and I was flying through the city once again. I stopped in an underground tunnel, the likes of which was located in Seattle. I finally found her, she was talking with that man that turned me... the name I finally found out to be Riley Biers.

"You’re not coming with us?" He asked angrily.

"It’ll be a last-minute decision. I told you how it works." Victoria replied she seemed bored.

"The Cullen’s have powers according to one of your friends," Riley said skeptically.

"Yes, my friend told me... my DEAD friend. Don’t underestimate them, Riley. One of them made me have hallucinations of my friend. You’ll have the numbers, but they’ll be able to anticipate your every move. You don’t trust me do you?"

"I trust you with my life. I’m just saying…"

"I’m doing this for us so that we can feed without their…retaliation and I can’t live in fear anymore waiting for them to attack."

"I won’t let them. I’m going to end the Cullen clan. I swear."

I broke out of my trance before I could get anything else out of the conversation. I rushed inside, eager to tell them what I found.

"It was Victoria guys!" I said.

"What? I would've seen it." Alice replied.

"She was hiding behind that kid, Riley... She's letting him lead the army to us..."

alright.

1x05 rewatch | og viewing

0:00

i love the exploration into the past that tua dips into. necessary to pad the runtime, but also so we really understand where everyone comes from. the show does this to a much smaller extent.

and seeing five adapt to the apocalypse is great.

variable: as mentioned before, comic five loved it there, because he didn't have to do missions anymore (which tells you how miserable he was, to prefer a hellscape where everyone's dead to being experiment fodder).

constant: five always adapts, and grits it out for an entire lifetime.

cand constant: he obsesses over a way home, nearly gives up, and is interrupted.

though variable: in the comics five finds the equation to take him home (through hallucinating the answer via dolores), and is snatched out of the timestream by the commission on the way back. in the show, the handler arrives to pluck him up, before he ever gets the answer.

but constant: five always looks for a way to get back to the moment he left and lands in the apocalypse instead.

luther is the first person to know in the comics, whereas in the show he's the second.

man wouldn't it be so sexy if diego's revenge plot ended in him realizing it was pointless and all about his own ego.

"the end of something" huh. remember when the show made it seem like there was an actual plan at work, and then s2 said 'oh it's just that the shareholders want the world to end bc they feel like it.' trash.

variable: the commission wanting the apocalypse to happen here and now. in the comics, they aren't involved beyond trying to re-recruit five... because this apocalypse is averted.

constant: five has a handler.

variable: the handler's gender, humanity, personality and relationship to him. and the handler showing up in apoc suite when he's just in dallas.

handler is Like That because either a) they couldn't afford the fish, or b) they were too chickenshit to try the fish. an entirely live-action constraint that i get. and i like establishing the character here, because we have the time to do it, and need to build our s2 antagonist.

i like the genderbending, but i still miss the fish. otherwise i like that five and handler's dynamic gets so much more filled in. idk how necessary i find the sexual dimension to them, but i love how they're always trying to one-up each other.

constant: five's involvement in the commission. his speech is literally littered with quotes from the comic. he's always the best of the best, and he's always involved with the hindenberg.

constant: five always deserts when it's time to kill jfk.

variable: show-tua takes place in a world where kennedy dies anyway. comic tua takes place in a world where he lives and the political landscape is totally different.

also... man i love how s2 has the characters somehow give a shit about saving kennedy when they come from a world where he always died and shit was just fine. makes no sense.

(and side note, the show doing a grainy 60s-era film reel with the flashback is wonderful. god the filmmaking was strong then)

now that the show has the briefcase-time-machine mechanic they now have to play a dozen rounds of 'make sure no one can use the briefcase time machine.' this is round one.

variable: briefcase time machines. in the comics they don't exist. a clever show addition, but a mechanic that's gonna get real tired the more they frantically try to write the cases away.

oh look vanya does wear makeup when she gains confidence.

+the scarf is a clever chekhov's gun.

variable: allison is the one who favors scarves in the comics.

and i think that vanya and leonard rushing into their relationship, while it says a lot about who vanya is as a person, does kind of make things questionable. coulda worked if he was smoking hot.

i'd like to see maybe a version of the story where they're already a couple, or even just friends, when apoc suite starts. could be interesting.

variable: the family all left at once in the show. in the comics, again, the breakup was gradual. it was five at ten, vanya at ~17, ben's death sometime just before or after, klaus a little while after ben dies, then allison or diego (order unknown).

constant: allison getting coffee for people.

and man. do. i. hate. how allison just trails after vanya in episode after episode. the writers didn't bother to give her her own plotline (and looking back at it and realizing how they never were going to let allison have her day in the sun as the protagonist of the dallas arc season, it's real clear exactly why they decided not to bother with her).

anyway. the case for woc vanya is stronger: if vanya and allison are both woc, then the unfortunate black bff trope vibe the writers made goes away. if allison's white and vanya's a woc, doubly so.

everyone talks about great tua music moments but this is one of the best: the use of 'feels like heaven' by fiction factory. a song about an abusive relationship that likens it to having your body crushed. playing over an abusive couple days before one party shatters the other's body.

constant: vanya auditions.

variable: what and who she auditions for and when.

in the comics, it's for the orchestra verrdammten and she doesn't get in. in the pilot, she tries to in the teaser and is rejected.

oh, and constant: a musician is killed, right as vanya joins.

variable: who it is (helen cho in the show, this dude in the comics) and whether it has anything to do with vanya.

allison's plotline. makes. no. sense.

she has zero reason to be suspicious of him, yet the show treats her as Right And Good for stalking him, breaking into his home and rifling through his shit.

variable: in the comics, in the dallas arc, diego is the one who goes to the front lines and bonds with his squadmates. in the show, it's klaus.

while i love the effect it has on klaus's character... i have mixed feelings about it being taken from diego. maybe if his replacement plot wasn't so shitty.

variable: in the show he goes with it. in the comics he holds out until dallas, which is the only time handler approaches him.

this is here to again pad out our runtime and give five shit to do until the climax, but i love it. we need to get to know the commission, and seeing how corruptible five is is vital. i think this is a keeper.

🖤💜Henry Is Better Than Your Fave and Here's Why🖤💜

I can make any argument on why Henry is better than your fave. I'm gonna make a few examples and I can add more to fight your fave.

1.) Hector

So people like Hector a lot because he is a big swole man who can protect you and he is freakishly handsome and confident about himself, right? Literally Henry is all that (minus the swole but he doesn't need to be swol bean to be best bean)

Henry can defend you with his insanely powerful magical abilities. He knows pretty much everything about curses and could kill anyone who even does so much as to look at you wrong. If you want a man to protect you, Henry is your guy.

And you want a handsome boi who is confident about himself? Henry is the most handsome jou of them all! He knows how good his magic is and pretty confident about his abilities as a dark mage and as a hexer. He never doubts his magic and never doubts his ability to kill. Yet Again, Henry is your guy.

You know what Henry has that Hector doesn't? Forced and restrained marraige. You cant marry Hector in his game, but you can marry Henry. Sure, none of the possible S rank pairs Hector has are canon, but none of them are you.

Henry is better than your fave.

2.) Marth

So Marth is a fan favorite because he is the OG protagonist, right? He is also charming, strong, modest, regal, and a pretty boy. Guess what? Henry is Charming, Strong, and a Pretty Boy too. He may not be regal nor royal, but he never is too overbearing about his abilities and accomplishments.

Henry is heckin charming. Like, he would be more than happy to takw a crow feather and weave it in your hair, compliment your smile and eyes, compliment your valor on the battlefield, comment how gorgeous you look when you jave the blood of your wnemies splattered all over you, exetera. He is more than happy to compliment you, help you out with literally any task, and make you feel special. If you want a charming fella, Henry is your guy.

Henry is like sooooo pretty. Like his white hair and pale skin is such a nice contrast to his deep purple and peweter gray garments lined with gold designs. He doesnt use unbearable colors (using a base of maybe three or four colors) and he is a skinny yet tol boi. He's just really pretty a f his smile is pretty and when he opens his eyes they are pretty. Henry is a really pretty boi.

You know what Marth has? A canon wife. He and Caeda are canon and in love. Marth already had the love of his life. You know what Marth doesnt have? Free time for you. He is busy running a kingdom and fighting there is no time for romance and he would be stressed. Henry doesnt deal with either of those.

Henry is better than your fave.

3.) Niles

Niles is a flirtatious bisexual tan man who is ruggedly handsome and very feline-like. He is also a bad boy~ He works as a retainer to Leo and has a tragic past. Guess what? Henry is handsome, kinda cat-like if yoh stretch it, a bad boy, and has an even more tragic past than Niles. His sexuality is also uncertain but that doesn't exactly matter...

So the tragic backstory part! Yeah, Henry' parents neglected him alot so he used to spend time in the woods where a white wolf basically became hos surrogate (right word?) Mother, but a hunter shot her before his eyes so he had a magical awakening and unleashed unheard of black magic that was more powerful than anyone had ever seen, so the parents sent him away. Depending on the localization, it was either to an Orphanage or Wizard School where nobody liked him and he had no friends because he was too weird. That's where he started making friends with the crows that always hung around the school and diving into the dark arts on his own. He learned to smile to make everyone believe he was fine and stay away because he knew they wanted to. So if you're into boys with a tragic backstory, Henry is your man.

You want a bad boy? I can give you a bad boy, and his name is Henry. Dark Mage? Evil magic and always tampering with the dead and laughing in the face of danger? He is a MEGA bad boy! But yoy are probably thinking the rebellious and sexy kind of bad boy. Henry's american localization could easily go yandere so he could be a bad boy if you really wanted him to be. He also countless times in supports he offers to kill Chrom: Leader of the Shepards. That's pretty bad and rebellious to me just saying. Henry could be a bad boy.

You know what Henry has that Niles doesn't have? Magic. Niles can't cast awesome spells, summon risen, or turn people into toads. He can't kill a person without having a single scratch on their body. You know what else Niles doesn't have? The ability to be a good Dad. Nina hates her father, but in every single ending of Awakening if Henry is married it says he was a surprisingly good father. No daddy issues whatsoever.

Henry is better than your fave.

4.) Claude

So I actually haven't played three houses yet so I am going off heroes and the spoilers I read but trust me Henry is better than Claude.

Claude is a very tricky boy. He likes to set traps and do a sneak and he is heckin bisexual. He is an EXTREMELY pretty boy and, let's face it, a better Niles and he's on horseback! But wanna know a secret? Henry is a tricky boy too. He is very pretty, like said before, and I am having a sudden blank on the mind because it's eleven at night but HERE WE GO!

Henry is a tricky little bastard, just like Claude. Henry literay did go behind everyone's back and learn how to summon risen after all. He also has all his crow friends he can have fetch stuff and steal stuff for him. He is also a playful little bastard if you couldn't tell from his, for a lack of better words, immature personality. He scares Ricken for fun and traded bodies with Sumia just for fun and went on a joyride in her body in his supports with them respectively. He is a fun, tricky little shit and I love him.

Guess what Henry has that Claude doesn't have? Burdens of being a royal and insecurities about it. Insecurities aren't cute. They are little hatreds people have to face and overcome to have a good self image. If people think that's cute then they are messed up. Claude needs to go on that journey with himself while Henry went on that journey and overcame it now. Henry doesn't have repression issues. It's okay to want to help out with someone's issues, but it ain't okay to fetishize it like I know a lot of people do with characters like Claude. Just a PSA. But that doesn't make Henry a better character, just a more internally developed one. And because od his self-development....

Henry is better than your fave.

I'm Not a Bad Person- Chapter Four

SUMMARY: Troy Otto does have feelings you know. He's in the process of figuring them out; especially when it comes to his childhood friend, Jaymie. Whatever they are, they're rooted deep, and they're growing.

WARNINGS: Language, Warped thoughts, Violence.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: My plan is to follow along with the events of season 3, but with my OFC involved. I'll veer off plenty of times and probably switch shit up completely. Not sure yet. We'll be exploring different characters' POVs throughout the series. I'm not great at this writing thing but I try my best. Hope you like it enough. All characters except my OFC don't belong to me.

Chapter 4

(Alicia's POV)

None of this would've happened if Nick hadn't left us to wander with the dead. Mom was on a mission to find him after that, even though it was clear he didn't want to be found; but we did- in a new world death camp lead by Troy Otto.

Don't get me wrong: I'm grateful to be reunited with my brother. I missed him. It's just that a lot happened while he was gone and, well, it would've been nice if he was there for us.

As much as Nick didn't want to be around the living, it turned out he had joined another community. It honestly hurt. Didn't he want to be away from people? He got so wrapped up with that group that he even ended up with a girlfriend.

Enough of these thoughts right now. They're not helping. I should be focusing on the task at hand.

Jake and I are heading to his ranch by foot now. We've been carrying Nick's unconscious girlfriend between us for the past few hours. I'm fucking exhausted. Everything about life is exhausting now. No use in complaining though. At least I'm not in Luciana's boots. She had been shot and was already in bad shape before the helicopter went down. I'm still shocked the three of us made it. I just hope we make it to the ranch in time. If anything, for Nick's sake.

Finally, our destination is in sight. A handful of people come to the gate to meet us; either to help or to find out what's going on. Jake and I carefully lay Luciana down so a red-haired man, who appears to be a medic, can check her vitals.

My thoughts wander again. I'm worried about my mom. How is she going to handle it when she sees Travis isn't with us? She's always been so strong; even through all of this mayhem with the dead rising. Will losing him break her? I guess I'm about to find out.

"Mom..."

I am given a quick hug and then I notice her looking down the road, expecting to see Travis lagging behind. "Where is he? Where is Trav?" Realizing he isn't coming, she asks once more, looking me in the eyes this time. "Where is he?"

"He," I hate this. "He's not-" I see it in her eyes. I don't need to say any more.

"No... No, no..."

"I'm sorry-" I cut myself off. Those words seem so pointless, though I mean them from the bottom of my heart.

Mom doesn't have time to mourn right now unfortunately. Here comes Nick, sprinting towards the scene. He goes straight to Luciana and kneels at her side. I see fear in his eyes.

"Luci.. Luci, hey.. Hey, it's Nick. Luci.."

"Not sure she can hear you," the medic tells him.

"What? What do you mean? Nick panics.

"She's not going to make it is what he means." That's an all too familiar voice- Troy fucking Otto.

"Help her!" Nick shouldn't even have to say that. They should be on it already.

"No. We take her to the infirmary, she may turn. It's against policy." I can't believe what I'm hearing right now. Why is this even up for debate? Luciana is still alive!

"It's your fault! You shot her!" Despite the fire in his voice, Nick sounds scared and helpless.

"I was defending my people. I'll do it again." Troy walks over to Luci while pulling out his pistol. "I know what to do."

"No no no no." Nick stands and puts himself between Troy and Luciana.

"This is how it has to be." Troy nonchalantly pushes Nick to the side. I can't believe what's unfolding in front of my eyes. Nothing feels real anymore. Why isn't anybody doing any-

"Troy!" A girl about my age approaches the scene, interrupting the tension. She gets close to Troy, and looking up at him with pleading eyes, she speaks quietly as if only to address him; though she can faintly be heard anyway. "This is one of those scenarios we talked about, ok? Do the right thing."

Troy mirrors her volume. "I am, Jaymie. I'm keeping you safe. I have to keep you- and everyone here, safe."

"But she could pull through, Troy. You know this isn't right. We should give her a chance."

"She's not worth the risk."

"What if, what if it was me laying there?"

The way he looked into her eyes was so intense. He went quiet; her words sinking in. After a brief moment though he swallowed hard and shook his head slightly.

"It isn't." Then Troy addresses Nick again. "Come on, out of the way. Move aside." He fails to heed the direction of this Jaymie girl. She looks more disappointed now than concerned for Luci's life as she was just moments ago.

Troy advances on his target.

"I'll do it." I barely heard him, but Nick said it twice. "I'll do it. I'm allowed this."

Troy contemplates Nick's words. He continues to stare down at the dying girl, his pistol ready to fire. I was stunned when he actually agreed.

"Troy wait-" Jaymie doesn't trust my brother. The transaction is already in progress though. Troy released the hammer of the gun and passed it over. Nick was now the one pointing the weapon at his girlfriend. There's no way he'll do this. I bet he's-

His arm raises, aiming the pistol directly at Troy's face. I knew it. The crowd reacts in gasps as a few others draw their own guns.

Jaymie doesn't hesitate to step in front of Troy. "Nick, please! Please don't do this!" Troy gently but hurriedly pushes Jaymie to the side and gives her a stern look. Her expression is one of utter desperation. "Nick, put the fucking gun down!" Tears form in her eyes. It's hard to believe someone actually cares this much about the guy.

"Let her in," Nick demands.

Jake has his own pistol trained on my brother. "Nick, this is not how we do things here."

Nick stares Troy dead in the eye, then changes his aim, putting Jaymie in the line of fire.

The color in Troy's face drains and his entire body language changes. He certainly didn't seem all that phased when the pistol was pointed at his self. "Whoa, hey, Nick, this is between you and me. So you keep that thing aimed at me, alright?"

Nick doesn't move it. "I said let her in."

With his unpatched eye trained on my brother's trigger finger, Troy cautiously reaches over to Jaymie, hoping like hell Nick won't pull the trigger. He guides the girl behind his body, shielding her. She is clearly against the idea, as she shows restraint, but Troy's grip on her is persistent. Unsure of what else to do, Jaymie wraps her arms around him, splaying one hand over his heart and the other on his stomach, like an instinct to protect his vitals, perhaps? Of course it would do no good since Nick is aiming for Troy's head anyway; that and her hands aren't going to stop a damn bullet. She doesn't seem that stupid, so maybe she's just grasping at straws.

"Nick, please. I'm begging you!" Jaymie's voice cracks as a tear runs down her cheek. "Don't do this!"

"Put the gun down, Nick." Mom's voice chimes in.

"Not this time."

More tears run down Jaymie's face upon hearing Nick's words. She attempts to hold in her sobs. If I'm being honest here, her reactions are breaking my heart. I actually feel bad for her. Too bad it's Troy she's defending.

"Do what your mommy says." Troy provokes Nick, who takes another couple angry steps towards him. Jaymie's hold on Troy tightens as she lets out a yelp.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Jeremiah steps between Troy and my brother. "Nick, Nick, easy there. Let, let me have the pistol, son."

It's Nick's turn to have a broken voice. "You can't let her die."

Jeremiah's voice is soothing. "If she's got a pulse, we'll let her in; but you got to give me the gun."

"Do it, Nick. Give him the gun," our mom encourages.

Nick reluctantly disengages the hammer and hands the gun over to Jeremiah. I look over at Jaymie to watch her let out the breath she had been holding, and the remainder of her tears fall. She rests her cheek against Troy's back, and moves her arms to wrap around him completely. He affectionately places his own hands on top of hers.

"Get her to the infirmary, and secure her before you treat her." Jeremiah gives the commands concerning Luci. "Everybody, that's enough fun. The show's over. Go back to what you were doing." At last, the crowd disperses.

"Everything's alright, Jayms." I hear Troy calming Jaymie as he turns around, interrupting their embrace. He then puts his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close, and guides her through the gate.

I have a feeling we'll be staying here awhile. Maybe befriending this Jaymie girl would be in our best interests. If anything, we could probably find out some useful information from her. I suppose I should wait for some of the emotional distress that my brother is responsible for to dissipate though. She was obviously terrified for Troy's life. What a sweet, foolish girl.

Alternate dimensions.

Didn't know about their existance until like 10 minutes ago. So it's not the most convenient thing to be stuck in one.

Peter and I (me, clinging on to him for dear life) had just swung into an open window. The room inside was dark. Peter switched on the lights, "welcome to my room!" He said with his arms spread wide. It didn't exactly look like it did in the movies; a majority of the space was taken up by his computers. There were three of them spread out across two tables. Wires tangled everywhere, also bits of hardware- some micro chips, magnets and a solder gun were scattered across the tables.

Peter tried as best as he could to fill me in on the way there about how he was wandering about New York, trying to find portals to close and how it led him to the building that I was in. My brain was swirling with the things he'd told me.

"So what I understand is, I walked through a doorway into a world different from mine and you pulled me right in before closing the doorway for good measure." I said while massaging my waist where I had been held by Peter. My whole body felt sore now, and being in such close proximity to this boy who so resembled Tom ( and not to mention, had actual super powers. "No, like I said, I closed the portal a full two minutes before you entered the room, or so I thought. When you walked in, all I was thinking of was that it was dangerous for civilians to be in such an unstable building. I didn't even consider the possibility that the portal was still open and you could be extra dimensional."

Extra dimensional. Now that was a label I would never get used to.

Peter sat down at his table and pulled out his mask, a bunch of his hair fell adorably onto his face. "These 'gates' are invisible to the human eye. The only way to detect them is through the gravitational anomalies around the area, with devices like these, he tapped the console type thing that he kept on his belt. You can imagine the fear and confusion among the public when people just disappeared into thin air without a warning. To make matters worse, the only person who knew anything about undoing this whole mess..." Peter shook his head as if to shake away a terrible thought. "Anyway, It took me three days to find a way to close these nasty portals the Shuma army left behind."

he paused, looking up at me with an apologetic smile "I don't know if any of that made sense to you. Here-" he darted to the bed and picked up all the clothes on it with one swoop and shoved them into his closet. "Make yourself comfortable."

I sat down. "No, it makes sense, more or less" I frowned as I tried to concentrate "You found a way to close portals that open up to whole other worlds in three days. To me, that sounds like you have ridiculous levels of genius. Yet you don't seem too happy with yourself."

I now saw the earnest, kind hearted boy from the comics standing in front of me and strangely, it brought back some childhood memories. As a little girl, I had a rather strong connection with the character of Peter Parker whom I'd familiarised with through reading too many comic books. Older me thought that it was all pretty silly and would sometimes laugh at my younger self for getting so attached.

Peter sighed, and years were added to his boyish face. "People call me a hero sometimes, and it's maddening because all I see are the things I could have done better. The lives I could have saved. I know I have the power to be more." He returned to the table and took the little device that he kept on his belt and started examining it with a mighty frown.

I realised with a chill in my bones that I knew what, or rather who he must be thinking about. I just wanted to see a smile on this pure boy's face now.

"Wow, I can't believe you're giving me the classic 'Great power, great responsibility' line already" I grinned. (I should have known that trying to be meta with Peter would be a fail since he didn't have any context whatsoever. Poor attempt. 0/10)

"Huh, I didn't know it was a classic" Peter mumbled as he dismantled the device and removed a small chip out of it. He inserted the chip to a slot on his computer and then began typing feverishly into a prompt on the screen.

"Iconic, if you ask me!"

"You say some weird things, Miss What." He paused. "So just to be clear, there are no Super Heroes where you're from?"

"No Super Heroes. To be fair, there aren't any super creepy monsters either." I left the part about us making comics and movies about the lives of Peter and his friends purely for our amusement out of the conversation for the moment. I wanted to get as much information out of Peter before confusing the shit out of him.

"No monsters that you know of, you mean."

I considered this for a second. Remembering just then that my phone was in the front pocket of my jeans, I took it out.

"Peter?"

"hmm?"

"I'm guessing that the reason I am in your bedroom, and not back in my own world is because you've only figured how to close a portal, not how to open one."

He stopped typing, but didn't reply.

"So basically... I am stuck here." I could feel my stomach sink as I admitted this.

Peter got up and stretched. "You know, I'm surprised at how well you're taking all this. Thought there would be more... Panicking." He waved his hands at the last word.

"Well, do you want me to panic? I am screaming on the inside already. It would be easy."

He let out a little laugh, looking right at me as he did. His eyes, I noticed were dead serious.

"It is my fault that you are stuck here Miss What. But I do not want you to worry because I have a plan. And you can trust my plans, they have a way of working."

"I'm not worried, Peter. " This was surprisingly true. "And my name is Mary Jane."
