The idea of this blog is to have one place people can go (on tumblr) to see what they can get involved in. The focus is spones, but I want to know how broad I should be in what posts I share.

I have some basic guidelines already

Included: zines, art challenges/swaps, interest checks, sign ups, fic exchange, holiday themed activities, celebration days, dtiys starter posts. Inclusive of tos, aos, tas, books, so on and so forth

Not included: individual fanarts, fic rec lists, fic requests, commission stuff, private events or one for one art swaps

Please reblog! This blog is new and hasn't been found by many yet!

I want to be clear, tho, this blog will not be reblogging exclusively spirk or mckirk events. No insult to those ships, y'all are wonderful!! But this is a spones space. Genuinely tho, it's n easy sideblog to run and if you want a spirk one or whatever, make it! It's an absolute piece of cake!

spones - older fics recs

seeing that people are interested in older fics, let me link some more that are not on ao3 but on personal websites (sometimes the formatting is a bit... you’d better just copy it into some text editor in order to read it comfortably) and that were written prior to 2010, but mostly in early 2000s. It’s not all of them (of course), I’m just linking those I at some point in the past three years enjoyed and that are long-ish. They can be a bit dated and sometimes a bit weird. Most of them are mature to explicit. If you want more warnings, you can message me.

Diagnosis and Treatment of Ply's Disease (explicit-ish at the end) - it deals with a disease, obviously, so proceed with caution if it isn’t something you want to read. Mention of McCoy/OC(m)

The Prayer of St. Francis (E) - I haven’t actually read this one, but one day I want to. The summary is “the triumvirate as we know them”, but it’s spones flavoured. And it’s spones who are bonded. It spans the series up to Spock’s death.

Nets in the Wind - mirror!spones, has Sybok, set after Spock kills Kirk, in case you mind. It’s a bit open ended.

The World Bewitched - mirror!spones, interesting world building imho

The Other One (E) - “After the encounter with the Mirror universe, both men have some problems they have to deal with.” (I actually don’t remember this one, but I have it saved... but don’t judge me if it’s weird; read the author’s notes) sequel Sugar Magnolia. These were written in 1998.

On Vulcan genomic engineering and love - this one though is a bit weird (proceed with an open mind), but the premise is quite interesting - McCoy becomes a half-Vulcan (I think this was actually the only fic I’ve read with that theme). “Spock has wanted for a long time to become fully Vulcan and finally devices a formula to allow him to manipulate his genetic structure to do just that. But in a freak accident, he injects McCoy with the formula, causing the Doctor to become half-Vulcan. Now with pon farr on Spock's heels, he must help the doctor learn to deal with his Vulcan half, while the two of them both try to live with their feelings for each other.” some hints at McCoy/Vulcan OC(m)

My Little Town - takes place after TUC, I’m personally very fond of this one for some reason. It has a completely different background for McCoy than what’s common. “McCoy’s mother just died, and McCoy goes to deal with the house. Spock tags along.” McCoy’s parents had a huge age gap, so if you’re bothered by it, maybe don’t read it.

stories by Tempest - Blackbird has trans!McCoy, Yon t'Ashaya - McCoy and Spock both serve on a Vulcan ship, Spock goes into pon farr [these two fics are what stuck with me after reading them three years ago, but the author has a lot more]

now you can also go through this list, but a lot of the links are broken, some can be accessed through wayback machine, some can’t.

and then you can also look through the Spiced Peaches list, which has fics from 2005 and up. Just in case you’ve never heard of the online spones zine.

It’s a wip, unfortunately, but it’s still worth it because it’s tos!mckirk~ And like most other mirror verse fics on this list, it isn’t as dark as what’s written these days. It’s actually pretty tame. It’s by the same author as The World Bewitched and Nets in the Wind above.

You guys, @lisianpeia is a real one. I asked her rec for which eps to watch in TOS for the prime Spones content. I've been kinda busy and haven't had time to continue my watch through so I asked her for a rec of which eps she thinks I should watch. This delightful woman not only put together a 4 page list but gave me bullet points key or if there are any really important Spones bits in it in, including a rating on if she enjoyed it or not.

Which is a level of nerdiness I appreciate and vibe with so strongly. But also, how awesome is she for doing it and helping me out? Definitely get you a fandom friend who will stick with you for years through multiple fandoms and is willing to just whip up a 4 page doc on which eps you should watch for your shared fav pairing.

Ashaya (Tehs-tor) by Adenil

Another story to add in my already long list of fake/pretend relationships. The story is really good mainly because Spock and Leonard are so clueless to their mutual pining and because Amanda and T'Pol are amazing.

👀 A fic that you love a normal amount

This Is The Dumbest Thing You’ve Ever Done by @edgeofdesiree

This story was written for me by Jade (adding to the already many reasons why I love it) and is just amazing. She's an amazing writer and this fic toes the line between heartfelt and soft, and funny and Thiam-type-idiotic.

💯 A fic that makes you think #writergoals

This is a hard one because there are so many authors that make me think that. I think I'll choose a top five author's and my favourite works (one author from five fandoms I like)

Star Trek - So Throw The Gates Wide Open by @psicygni

Set after Beyond, the crew goes back to collect the bodies of their friends. It focuses on Bones' perspective and has includes the rocky but budding relationship with Spock (yes another Spones story).

911 - i want your midnights by allyasavedtheday

Pick any story of @littlespooneven and I can assure you that it will be amazing. While this isn't the first story I've read of hers, its the one I keep coming back to because of how good it is.

Different meeting AU where Buck rents Eddie's spare room.

Teen Wolf - Airplanes by Captainmintyfresh (@thiamfresh)

This story was the first ever Thiam fic I read. I lost it (back when I was new to ao3) and was more than happy to have found it again. It's basically roadtrip Thiam.

Supernatural - Turn on the Stars by happy_to_be_here

Kidfic/high school AU with abusive John but caring Cas and his family. Incredibly well written, and while (obviously) sad, it's also quite heartwarming.

Death Stranding - You're the Hero by ChangeTheCircumstances

This hurt my heart more than I would have liked. It's essentially an canon divergent AU mainly focusing on Cliff before branching off into different POVs. And all character's in the game make an appearance.

👌🏼 A fic someone else recommended to you

I Didn't Know I Was Lonely 'Til I Saw Your Face by @hmslusitania

This wasn't really a rec, but Madina (@arrenemris) made a gifset (which is amazing by the way) and I immediately went to go and read the story. It's an AU Different meeting story where Buck and Eddie go to couples therapy together, even though they had just met (in therapy).

💘 A fic you couldn’t stop reading once you started

remind me to forget by orphan_account

So I'm the kind of person that doesn't really like romance movies. If it's a thriller, please leave the romance out. But there's this one exception and it's Safe Haven (based on the Nicholas Sparks book of the same name) and it's a guilty pleasure of mine. This fic is a Lone Star Safe Haven AU with Tarlos and my heart bleeds with how good it is.

😭 A fic that ripped your heart out (but it hurt so good)

Leave the Light On (I'll Be Coming Home) by @hmslusitania

Hayley is known for her angst and this was no exception. I sat at the edge of my seat the entire time, waiting for Eddie to make his way back home. Essentially a 'what if Eddie's will had to be put into affect and Buck became Christopher's guardian?' fic.

A Massive Spones Rec List

The Spones fandom is made up of some of the most talented people but is tiny and in need of more content. Due to this fact, there are significantly less Spones fics so I searched extra hard to compile a good, lengthy list of fics.. and somehow managed to find way more fics than I did for my Mckirk one?? Why am I such trash, help I need a life.

Spock writes McCoy a letter of confession, despite not quite knowing how to write a love letter. (A super sweet insight into Spock’s mind, especially on his thoughts on the Enterprise’s resident doctor.)

Best Medicine for the Worst Patient by gammadolphin | 8.5k, T

It’s a special kind of hell, becoming obsessed with the laughter of a man who barely even smiles unless he’s high or dying of blood loss. Leonard doesn’t handle it particularly well. (A hilariously frustrating fic in which Bones becomes a little too obsessed with trying to hear Spock laugh just once more.)

Leonard McCoy sees his friends bleed. He loves the blood when it is inside them, flushing their cheeks and warming their skin. McCoy’s consciousness is transferred into an android body after a fatal accident. Spock helps him remember the man he used to be. (Wow a really creative and fascinating fic that could have gone totally wrong if it hadn’t been written by such a talented author.)

Average Vulcan body temperature is approximately 8.6 degrees lower than humans’. It is only logical that Spock would eventually become cold within his lover’s quarters. The doctor comes up with a solution. (The blanket cocoon, the clothes sharing, Spock being in love with Leonard’s scent.. asdfghjkl too adorable to handle.)

Compassion Is a Virtue (But I Don’t Have the Time) by therev | 5k, E

McCoy and Spock switch bodies. Things get out of hand. (I love the way the author addresses the difference between human and Vulcan physiology. And you know, there’s also some sexy times too if you’re into that sort of thing.)

Do Vulcans Dream of Electric Doctors? by Neigedens | 4k, T

“It’s probably not even your fault, Spock,” he muttered. “I was probably destined to go mad in space some day anyway. You probably just made the process a lot more efficient. How typical.” Dr. McCoy has got Vulcan on the brain. Set during “The Search for Spock.” (The usual Spones banter but whilst sharing the same brain. Bonus: dream sharing.)

The Edge of Never by therev | 17k, T

Alternate ending to “City On The Edge of Forever”. Edith Keeler didn’t die. Jim couldn’t let her. The triumvirate are trapped in the past with an altered future. Jim must correct his mistake while Spock and Bones get domestic. Set in 1930s New York and rural Georgia. Mostly pining of the space doctor variety. (I didn’t know I needed domestic 30s Spones until I read this omg. And don’t let the 'slow build’ turn you off because it’s so worth it.)

A minor transporter accident has Bones and Scotty squabbling about safety while Spock watches. Spock gets lost in his own thoughts, thinking about his relationship with Bones. (‘Vulcans don’t get distracted,’ you say? Well you’re wrong because they can and the results can be incredibly adorable.)

Familiar by starstrung | 3.5k, T

The Romulans really need to stop shooting at their artificial gravity systems. (Almost like four ficlets in one if you will. All super heartwarming and nicely come together at the end. So well written!)

Jim was playing matchmaker again and McCoy was not happy about it. The fact that he had to spend the rest of the evening clinging to Spock like a damsel in distress was bad enough, but teaching him how to act like they were together? It’d be easier to cure Denobulan malaria. (Fake dating fics are hard to get right but this one is by far the best I’ve ever read. It’s so soft and sweet and fits TOS really well.)

Five Times Spock Was Interrupted While Trying to Confess His Love for McCoy and One Time He Wasn’t by therev | 3.5k, T

To be fair, he could have tried a lot harder, or spoken a bit faster. (One of the greatest 5+1 fics. And bonus points for that summary lol.)

McCoy deals with the aftermath of his mind meld with Spock in the mirror universe. (Post TOS ep “Mirror, Mirror”. Haunting but beautifully so.)

McCoy is the one who’s blind, but Spock has been slow to see. (Just. Excellent.)

Spock gets ill and not only does he have to deal with the illness, he also has to contend with his troublesome Human side. (Omg soft & sick Spock with a concerned Bones is just too cute I can’t deal. Also, the writing is incredible.)

In Vino Veritas by black_tea | 3k T

Bones over indulges at Jim’s party and ends up losing his impulse control thus forcing him to face the truth of the situation between himself and his Vulcan shipmate. (Post-Beyond fics are the absolute best and this one hits all the right spots. AND there’s an great sequel in which Spones goes swimming. Niceee.)

Last to Know by Dizzydodo | 19k, T

When Leonard is fatally injured, Spock attempts to save him with a bond. Unfortunately, Leonard mistakes this for an act of duty, and all Spock’s hints to the contrary go unnoticed. (The way the author wrote the bond as well as these two’s relationship was excellent.)

Long Last Night by Vera_DragonMuse | 23k, M

The sense of a long last night over civilization is back again. -Norman Mailer Two years after a terrible virus wipes out most of the world’s population, McCoy tries to keep mind and body together. Modern Post-Apocalypse AU. (I’m not a huge fan of post-apocalyptic stories but ohh boy I was completely sold on this one. Extremely well written and great characterization. Highly recommended!)

McCoy wishes he could talk to Spock’s human half. After a transporter malfunction, he can. (One Spock, two Spock.. Great fic that delves into Bones discovering Spock’s struggles with his human and Vulcan halves and how they’re not as different as they may seem.)

One Little Mistletoe Kiss by tprillahfiction | 1.5k, T

Spock and McCoy eat Christmas cookies and kiss under the mistletoe, Spock/McCoy style which means bickering and McCoy complaining and swearing. (SO HEARTWARMING. TOO MUCH FLUFF LET ME LIVE.)

Our Doubts Make Us Traitors by LogicalBookThief | 5k, T

Dealing with what did and didn’t occur on Altamid leaves McCoy incapable of sleeping. Paying his most recent patient a visit seems to be the only cure. (What can I say? I just really love post-Beyond fics.)

Perfectly Logical by Zauzat | 4k, T

Kirk has had enough of Spock and McCoy’s public squabbles. He orders them to sort it out. He just doesn’t anticipate the solution they come up with. (Love the way the author handled both mind melds and the boys’ relationship. A+)

The Placebo Effect by IntuitivelyFortuitous | 3k, T

Alright, maybe he should listen to Spock more often. Maybe he should not drink everything that gets put in front of him. In his defense, it was purple and sparkly no human with a decent sense of curiosity could resist at least a sip. He didn’t expect it to give him a sixth sense, though. (A really original and creative fic that’s also hilariously well written. Loved it.)

Advancing in a relationship with Leonard McCoy only seems logical, particularly after Spock hears that the good doctor carried his katra in another life. (My first and possibly favourite Spones fic. Well characterized, hilarious, and sweet.)

Spock gives Leonard a tracking device. Leonard is less than thrilled. (A hilariously adorable post-Beyond fic that captures their relationship perfectly.)

Somewhere Only We Know by sullacat | 14k, M

Spock and McCoy find themselves thrust into a new world and a new life. Can they work together to find their way home - or is being lost the best thing that ever happened to them? Reboot of Star Trek: The Next Generation episode 'The Inner Light’. (Wow such an amazing AU. I love how both Spock and Bones are written and how they slowly fall in love. Gahhh my heart.)

Surgeon’s Mate by belmanoir | 4.5k, T

Spock likes McCoy. McCoy won’t take a hint. (The ultimate TOS fic.)

Spock moves in with McCoy in his lab and they have to learn to share the same space. (One of my absolute faves. Their voices are written perfectly and the plot is simple, but very very effective.)

Making a quick lil rec list in case anyone’s lookin to read something new. These are some of my absolute fave fics from different fandoms, they are so fun to read, and I’m sure I’ve recced more than a few before already, but I cannot sleep so here they are listed again!

Oblivious and it’s sequel Imperious--on fanfiction.net, Remus Lupin centric, multi-chapter, featuring Remadora in Imperious. First fic deals with Remus once again teaching at Hogwarts and facing off with the werewolf that bit him as a child (not Fenrir Greyback--this fic was written before Greyback was introduced in Order of the Phoenix.) Great world building and original characters, spot on characterization, Remus being a badass but also somewhat of a dork.

Equilibrium by PSW--gen, multi-chapter, McCoy and Spock centric, torture. Y’all this fic is GOOD. Like holy shit. I caught myself wanting to write fanfic for it before I remembered that it itself is fanfic and not canon. Starts off with McCoy and others being kidnapped and their deaths faked. Spock and the rest of the Enterprise are grieving (and my heart breaks every time.) Meanwhile, McCoy is being forced to engineer a treatment for captive Vulcans, Romulans, and Rigelians who are being subjected to some really awful stuff--but I won’t spoil it for you. I will say though that this fic brings out a mixture of emotions, from anger and disbelief to excitement and absolute relief. Like edge-of-your-seat action. This is not a Spones fic but the Spock/McCoy friendship is strong and central to the fic’s resolution. A must for McCoy fans cause he’s just so good in this fic. The OCs are great as well, you find yourself caring about them a lot.

Surgeon’s Mate by belmanoir--ok, this one IS Spones and it is fucking amazing. Oneshot, Original Series canon compliant, featuring scenes from a couple of episodes. The Spones relationship develops despite McCoy constantly misinterpreting Spock’s flirting as criticism and being grouchy about it. The summary itself is “Spock likes McCoy. McCoy won’t take a hint” which sums it up pretty well. Spot on characterization. Kirk is a dork.

Of Cinema and Sticky Notes by bluepeony--Wolfstar, no-magic modern day au, two chapters. Remus and Sirius being cute and falling in love in the boring office where they both work. They have a bit of a confrontation in the second chapter but they work it out.

Just a Face on a Train by katherynefromphilly--Raimi!verse Spider-Man 2, multi-chapter, quick read, from the POV of a waitress who recognizes Peter from the train and does her best to help him out without letting him know that she knows he’s Spider-Man. Very heart warming.

The Gleaming Road by melblue--long oneshot, Faramir/Eomer. I’ve recently recced this one but I shall again because I just gotta. Denethor, a certified asshole, forces Faramir to seduce Eomer so Denethor can gain an advantage during talks of strengthening alliances between Gondor (full of homophobes) and Rohan. Faramir is reluctant (I mean who wouldn’t be when your dad is like “go sleep with that dude so I can fuck them over the contracts between our countries--also, I hate you”) But despite internalized homophobia, he falls for Eomer (who is patient and awesome and doesn’t fall for Denethor’s tricks but definitely falls for Faramir like right off the bat) Great smut included as well. Boromir is a good brother.

Bones and the 2.0 by AndreaLyn--This fic is super entertaining. TOS McCoy ends up on the AOS Enterprise and Jim is perplexed and giddy. AOS McCoy is annoyed. TOS McCoy is just chilling. TOS Spones and AOS McKirk. Very cute fic, and each of the TOS trio end up making an appearance (one is very brief.)

Seasons of Wonder by ashinae and cruisedirector--10 chapters of a developing relationship between Aragorn, Arwen, Faramir, and Eowyn. Starts off with the canon couples and ends up with with polyamory. Very sweet smut, they’re all adorable. This was the first fic I read with Aragorn/Faramir and now I can’t seem to get enough of it.

G1 – SHIELD’s Prisoner (MCU/Bucky Barnes) –this art honestly made me want to read HEAT STROKE which I still haven’t, but it’s on my TBR.

G2 – what you can’t protect (The Umbrella Academy/Gen) –a tiny piece for a tiny fandom and the only thing I actually wrote for that.

G3 – Hold the Door (Teen Wolf|Supernatural/ Sterek|Destiel)—I’m not usually a fan of crossovers but this one made so much sense and was so fucking well done I loved it. I’ve read it so often I’ve lost track.

G4 – The (Not So) Great Pretender (MCU/Winteriron) – mutual pining. That’s all. That’s my favoritest thing, ok.

G5 – Caretaker: A Rhodey/Tony Playlist (MCU/Ironhusbands) – fanmixes aren’t my thing, but Ironhusbands IS and I love this one.

O1 – Safety in Silence (Teen Wolf/Sterek) –this was one of the easiest fills and this is a favorite fic of mine. Excellent pining and Sterek feels all around.

O2 – All the Leaves Are Brown (And the sky is gray) (MCU/Gen) –I LOVE this fic so much. Winter kills the Starks—and adopts Tony. And things spiral from there. So goddamn good.

O3 – Redshifted (MCU/All Caps) –this is the only fic on the list I haven’t read. But it’s on my list and I’m super excited to read it next weekend my kids are with their dad.

O4 – sweet & nasty (MCY/SamSteve) –this was the hardest fill by far. I don’t read comics, but I found this one and omg it’s gorgeous.

O5 – Ninety One Whiskey (Supernatural/Destiel) –I almost hunted down Twist and Shout for this one but honestly, 91W is a fav and it’s a thousand times better so. Here we are.

Centuries : AOS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUQbwN8LXmkF this one is definitely more modern/scifi/thriller feel, or maybe a star fleet recruitment commercial, but it's done really well.

Cat's in the Cradle : Spock and Sarek https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3rsIOFiJPA This vid is included because it really illustrates the relationship between Spock and his father. Imho, Sarek didn't set out to be a bad father; rather, he was just completely unprepared to raise a half human child and was too prideful to admit he and the vulcan way might be wrong. Spock and Sarek are both more alike than either of them want to admit.

Both Sides Now : TOS Spirk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o38PTd27LUg This piece has a fantastic old-time nostalgia feel that the artist accentuated with choosing a washed out sepia toned/old time analog tv feel and era appropriate song.

Wait for it : TOS Spirk and AOS Spock Prime angst https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kodO5j5r1x0 omg I didn't think I'd put a Hamilton song on here BUT HERE I AM. (I didn't even know it was until I googled it... haha whoops!) Anyway, the artist makes amazing use of color in the editing. Above all else Spock is a survivor. Also; the ending we all wanted.

Young and Beautiful : TOS Spones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADRloBSPM6U This one literally made me cry. When it gets to the bridge if you don't have start having feelings you're as emotionless as Spock claims to be. The artist utilizes both tos and the movies for a truly superb, professional level end project. This is art.

I was here : Star Trek TOS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xG_POeeL_74 This one's sad, but hurts and is cathartic like a good tragedy. We have an impact on those around us, and this vid examines Kirk's impact.

Luckily, Spock wasn’t finished.

Phew! I’ve been reading a lot of fics so I’ve been doing this rec-list of my favourites for you. trust me it’s from MANY sources and depths of the internet. I’m gonna try to keep it clearly organized and updated.

Also, these fics are really various, but the pairings are only combinatinos of Spock, Kirk and McCoy. I warn you I have a huge thing for AUs.

E// Hours of Freedom is a both-sided amnesia fic but the best I’ve read. Kirk and Spock in forest, surviving, fluffing around and eventually smutting.

E// Got You is a Mirror-verse PWP where Spock and Kirk do it right on the bridge. Yes, you heard me, in front of everyone. One of the hottest PWPs ever.

E// The Friend Awesome in-character fic taking place on Vulcan, exploring Kirk’s jealousy and sexuality

E// The power of suggestion Under an unfortunate influence of a drug, Kirk starts temporarily believing he and Spock have been lovers. One of the best get/together fics and solutions of long secret crush I’ve read!

M// Communication A wonderful epistolary fic (I love these) Being at war, Spock is separated from his crew before the end of 5YM and they miss each other immensely. They quite maturely handle their affections for each other and start writing between the lines.

T// A means to an end A morning-after fic with an interesting twist! Kirk and Spock shyly & slyly taking their friendship to ‘the next level’ :D

E// Turbo Tale This story is from Turbo lift’s POINT OF VIEW. No, trust me. This is too wonderful and I’ve never read a blowjob scene used so strangely appropriately and affectionately like here. .

G// The Game Very entertaining and originally handled challenge by the author. The crew plays a game in a bar. I love this too much.

E// The Berries One of the best ‘we’re in forest, you’re drunk and we’re too surprised we’ve both loved and craved each other all along so let’s get it finally over with’ I’ve EVER read.

E// Personal Effects Spock received a personal android, he likes him a lot. Kirk is furiously jealous.

M// Shall We? This one is different and so weird? It has plot but a humorous one and somehow this kept me entertained and I appreciate it in a strange way. Such an original view of K/S development!

E// Absolution The author truly spoiled me with this fic. It is a fuel to my hurt/comfort love, there is nothing like nasty abduction and then (most of the fic) soothing the character (Kirk) delicately with love while every single sentence of it is PERFECTLY in character that it awes me. The thing is very real. (However I only enjoyed the first half as much, I’m not sure if I ever finished the second.)

G// First comes love AU. Kirk is a single parent and Spock is a child doctor. Why you should read this? 1) PUREST THING EVER. 2) REALISTIC PURE CHILD’S (David) POV. 3) His daddy is falling in love with his doctor?!! 4)OhgodpleasejustREADit... I just wish this was longer *cries*

E// At a glance Teenage!AU. Ok I just realized I read this as AOS? It totally worked? Anyway, I only read 2 chapters because it felt satisfying enough the other day but I was IN LOVE with the first kissing scene, one of the most powerful I’ve EVER read. Love at first sight. Epic. I’m gonna finish it one day and update my opinion.

E// Surrender PWP. Warning for dub-con and dom/sub elements. Normally I’m not so into this and if yes I don’t bother rec-ing it BUT I am doing so for the massage scene because hot damn, that was the hottest stuff ever. Simply well-written Spock seducing Kirk. (wth was this published in year 1997?!?)

E// Master and Commander A satisfying first-time PWP, awkward shower sharing, pleasant switching of the roles.

E// Getting What You Wished For Having any wish on a planet that creates anything for you, Spock (very logically) summons copy of Captain Kirk to deal with his oh so suppressed sexual and romantic feelings toward him. It doesn’t work but it might give him a push to finally confess.

E// Ardor Amazing PWP which just didn’t feel too cliché for my taste. Features gym red pants and very nice foreplay and resolved sexual tension wohoo.

G// in love with my captain This is just a drabble to warm your heart. It’s just the last sentence...is everything good in the world.

T// An Impossible Smile “ Captain Kirk has a seductive smile that no man or woman can stand up to. He uses this against Spock.” THIS IS SO GOOD because nobody ever portrays Spock as ‘one of Kirk’s conquests’ (sorry for that) but this one does and IT HURTS SO BAD but it’s short enough so you won’t die but..wow..

E// Rose Hips and Vulcan Lips PWP with FLUFF, married Spirk, Spock is cold, there’s Kirk’s mom in the house while the two dorks go warm up in the shower and do nasty things, anyway: "Spock...Only you could stand there, naked, in the shower, with soapy water running down your chest and that big, thick hard-on poking out at me, talking about plants with vitamin C. And I love you for it." :>> i want marriage like that.

Spock/McCoy

T// Questions, Questions Brilliantly in-character fic about Spock being forced to answer very personal questions to McCoy as a part of the physical. M// The Sample is a sequel to Questions, Questions, where Spock must deliver semen sample for McCoy. He is failing, and asks for help. I will read these for the rest of my life.

E// Aegri Somnia Spock and McCoy are stranded on a planet and fight for their life. PERFECT food for hurt/comfort lovers. Contains horror atmosphere, very naturalistic description, love confessions & cuddles. What’s not to love.

E// I have enough Huge hurt/comfort. I have a thing for depressed!Bones and this one suffers all included (alcohol, secret love for Spock, self-harm..) But don’t worry, he gets the comfort he deserves.

T// Nothing By Halves This is mostly for the nice idea. All I can tell you is copy the description and my favourite quote summing it up: “McCoy wishes he could talk to Spock's human half. After a transporter malfunction, he can.” And: “It wasn't your human half I needed to get through to, or the Vulcan. It was just you.” I’m crying.

E// What happens in Vegas Can be AOS too. Crack-ish. This was lot of fun. Well, the first part looked more promising. Somehow I thought it would be better if they slept together sooner, when it was still kind of taboo, you know what I mean? It turned too sugary for me which seems to by my frequent problem but still adorable and fun fic!

Spock/Kirk/McCoy

E// Always watching You - “An asexual but not aromantic Spock contemplates his relationship with Jim and Leonard.” Exceptional fic.

E// Unbearable “As McCoy struggles with holding Spock’s katra, he finds himself stuck in the middle of a relationship between his best friend and a dead man.” How bittersweet.

E// Get the party started (if it works for all parties involved) PWP-ish. “Jim caught Bones calling Jim's and Spock's name in his 'self-loving' time. Jim's solution? Phone Spock. While Bones's still at it so Spock could hear it first-hand, of course.” Wohoooo! Voyeurism is my weakness trope.

E// Beautiful Liar “McCoy reveals hidden feelings for Spock after accidental contact with his mind. He doesn't know Kirk and Spock are lovers, so Jim lies to him.” This is actually kinda sad? But not exactly angsty.

M// The Exchange Student Teenage Spirk AU. Jim is abused by his step-father, Spock, the exchange student comes to his rescue. Hurt/comfort, so fluffy, SO beautiful!

E// Gift An AU, takes place on xenophoibic Vulcan; Spock finds a young human and decides to keep him. I love how they grow up together and develop an unhealthy addiction to each other. However it gets a bit angsty at the end and I’m unsure how the ending makes me feel.

E// Papers in the Roadside AU. Jim owns a bar and Spock is a mysterious journalist who makes him lose his mind. This story has flawless atmosphere and slow development. It is essential.

E// Educated Differences A standard 21. century university AU where Jim and Spock are put as roommates and I don’t think I even need to comment this.

T// Mayday, My Darling Very realistic fic about Spock getting drug-addicted. I don’t usually enjoy established relationship but THIS is perfection! Tags speak for it all.

T// Subtext Jim has a crush on Spock, he misses him and regrettably end up trying to pick him through texting. Very enjoyable ‘texting’ fic (mostly.) Also funny and fluffy!

E// Tray Tables and Seatbelt Signs AU. You ever heard of Mile High Club? No? You will now. Spock is hot flight attendant and Jim a very annoying and needy passenger. Bonus: best description of Bones&Jim friendship ever.

E// In time AU. Kirk’s mother leaves to space for years and emplys Spock as her son’s ‘caretaker.’ Now, I know how difficult it is to characterise a child/teenager well but this author took my breath away. Jim's development feels 110% real and the relationship of him and Spock over THE YEARS is developing perfectly, it's balanced, flowing ideally fast. Lot of mutual pinning, slow-build, hurty comforty this is SO GOOOOOD and pure.

T// Stacks AU. Librarian!Jim and cadet!Spock. What I liked about this one is that Kirk was so pure, contrary to other AOS fics. As a librarian, interested in a regular Vulcan guest, he has this really nice character vibe. And he doesn't think it's creepy when Spock makes awkward sexual propositions and just goes with it because he actually respects him for once.

E// The third wheel Academy AU. Awh yes, another fandiction that I simply devoured at once. Spock is a professor who calmly dates around with cadet Uhura but Jim is an annoying bastard who decides to steal Uhura from him, however he ends up falling in love with Spock and stealing him instead. Spock is succumbing hopelessly and adorably, god.

M// The Fountain AU. “Somehow, Jim thought the brothel would be different—big and beautiful. Not like this, with just one broken Vulcan.” What can I say? Jim rescues Spock from where he certainly doesn’t belong. Hurt/comfort is my oxygen. Bones making important and appreciated appearance as well!

M// A Kingdom to Come Fairy-tale AU. “Jim has been ordered by his mother, Queen Winona of Terra, to marry crown princess T'Pring of Vulcan. He intends to do no such thing.” Who doesn’t need a kingdom-set fic once in their life? I tell you, this is better than you think, do give it a try. I could not stop until I finished. Pure gold.

T// Mother, why Kirk is a waiter and Spock was arranged an outrageous blind date with Gary Mitchell in the restaurant. Jim manages to be the only pleasant thing on the date. Pity for the happy but open ending.

E// Muddy Waters Uni AU. I’m not sure about this one. I know I really loved the beginning, or half of it and then again I was deeply disappointed and dropped it. But in this fic Spock is a human but has ‘Vulcan syndrome’ or something so he looks like a vulcan so that was pretty cool I think.

E// Creep College AU. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read this at first but I am glad I did!! It was very good! The characters were given their names because their parents were Star Trek fans and stuff?? So they are in the Star Trek fandom? Kirk is in love with a ff writer while dealing with this creepy classmate at school. Well, as the author says: “ One story, two storylines, one love.”

E// Called You Friend This is not a fanfiction, this is PURE ART. This is so imaginative, various, makes you feel things. You have to read bit between the lines to follow the plot but this is just beautiful.

E// Life is Just a Bowl Full of Peaches ??? AU. I don’t even know why I saved this one but I knew I could regret it?? Crack-ish, maybe? McCoy is a single parent countryman and he is online dating Jim, thinking he's a GIRL. I don't know. Just. It’s fun but it’s also like nice? I don’t know if I finished but I definitelly enjoyed the beginning.

This took me way longer than I expected because I apparently can't remember the names of my favourite fics. But anyway, here is my fic rec list (which I struggled to compile because I also apparently have a lot of favourites...)

🥰 (a fic that gives me warm fuzzy feelings)

darker days, brighter endings by @buckactuallys

Not only have I read this story often, I loved it every time. It's not fluff per se, though. It's set after the 4x13/14 shooting and is about how Eddie is dealing with recovery (Maddie is there too, also dealing with her own recovery and Eddie and her 'bond' over it). The reason it gives me warm fuzzy feelings is because of Eddie's relationship with every one, the way they all try to help out and just bond with him. Not to mention Buck in his usual I'll-go-to-the-end-of-the-universe-for-you type of caring.

😊 (a fic that made me smile on a bad day)

Only Child of the Universe (And then I Found You) by @hmslusitania

I love anything cats/kittens, dogs/puppies, and other fluffy pets, so when I saw that this story had that, I had to smile. Not to mention that I love Hayley's fics and this one was no exception.

It's a fluffy fic about Eddie adopting a stray cat (and somehow gets together with Buck).

I was reading this last night and laughing so loud that my mom thought I was having fun with my sister (needless to say she was surprised when she found out I was just reading).

It's a SamBucky fic post Civil War where Sam keeps comparing Bucky to Disney princesses (hence all the laughing). It's not a crack fic and has some hydra torture references.

It's a gen fic with a de-aged Cap (since I was looking for kidfics but wasn't sure exactly what I was looking for but I found this and loved it). There are allusions to past child abuse, but it's one of the stepping stones to Steve (both versions) bonding with Tony and the other avengers.

This story... Um... I will hesitantly admit to having read it way more times than I should have in the past month alone... It's really that good! It features a pregnant McCoy, god-complex aliens with wings, genius Uhura and overprotective Spock (its a spones fic).
