So I have a multi chapter fic that is marked complete (cos it is) but I've written a sequel. So I've made it into a series.

I want to know, on ao3, if someone is subscribed to the original fic will they get an alert to tell them that there is a new related story? Or should I make a new chapter in the original fic to advise anyone who was keen enough to subscribe? Or are they not going to get an alert but it's poor form to make a chapter to advise of a new related story?

Yeah Vulcans are super chill about pda, they just have such a hand-focused culture it doesn't read as pda to humans unless they know. Parents holding their kids' hands, couples greet each other by touching fingers, friends stacking their hands on each others'. All super normal ways of saying I love you in all its forms

I think it's very similar to humans actually!

So like, using your mouth doesn't turn you on like using your dick does. Taking, eating, whatever, not automatically sexual even tho it's mouth stuff. So I figure it's the same for Vulcans, they can kinda pick and choose based on context

So why do humans kiss? There's probably a researched answer to this but I'm gonna make it up on the fly now instead. It's where we communicate, and kissing is just like communicating an emotion that goes beyond vocabulary

I know someone's gonna yell bait about this but idc, like, what? Do you want proof? Video evidence? Grow up.

So I (30x) really like Goya's Black Paintings. Like, Saturn Devouring His Son, Duel with Cudgels, A Pilgrimage to San Isidro. I think they're hypnotic, beautiful, evocative. They make me feel emotions I can't quite explain properly.

As the title says, sometimes I beat my meat to them. Whatever. It's not really about horniness. But the intent doesn't matter.

Recently (in a discussion about sexuality in art, I promise it was relevant, similar sentiments were being shared) I mentioned to my partner (33nb) that I do this. They were pretty taken aback.

Apparently, they find this 'gross' and 'kind of dodgy' because Goya's black paintings were never intended to be shared with a wider audience. They were art that he did not mean to share, painted on the walls of his house near the end of his life. They say it seems like the work is too personal to jerk off to, that it seems invasive or like a violation.

I don't think it's a big deal. The guy is dead, it's not like his ghost knows what I'm doing. It's a good thing to consider, but I don't think it ultimately matters, ethically.

So, I guess AITA for this?

Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1

The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.

So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.

So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.

Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.

And the probe is working again.

From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.
