One word; Yzma. One minute, Kuzco was strolling through the palace halls at a relaxed step, admiring the long line of portraits of himself in various poses and states of dress lining the walls. His newest royal advisor kept pace with him, walking by his side and steadily reading off of a list of ‘to do’ items to be completed or dismissed within the next week. They were still running damage control from Yzma’s power grab, removing all traces of her likeness from the palace and deciding what if any of her ‘changes’ could be kept. “. . . The royal bust she commissioned for the front entrance— “ “Scrap it.” “— Eggplant colored drapes lining the throne room and adorning all of the public hallways within the palace— “ “Nope. Eggplant, shmegplant. Who even likes that color?” A pause, and he chuckles at his bad attempt at a joke. “You know what I mean. Forget it. Next.” “— She sent a courier to each village to speak with the village leaders and figure out when their harvest would be complete for her coronation ceremony.” “Hm. Might not be a bad idea to keep at least part of that one.” “— She planned a new temple to be built in your honor, to be finished by early next week.” “Nope. Not dead. X-nay, the emple-teh. Next.” It continued like that for some time, the two of them making their leisurely way towards the throne room where he was to oversee the peasants complaints and delegate responsibility for new projects to his council. Kuzco dismisses his advisor as they turn the corner, waving him off so he can head to the throne room proper to meet with his Royal Scribe ahead of the peasant petitions-- which is exactly when he spots what looks like a lost . . . child? Wandering around the halls. ". . . Well, this can't be good."

Rue, this is the sweetest thing and I'm sorry it's taken a while to reply to this because I kept coming back to this and grinning like an idiot until my cheeks hurt? Rorschach and Khare's relationship is by far one of my all-time favourite experiences, not just on this one thing but roleplaying in general.

Their connection is one of those things I never saw coming but holy crap, it's so good, the way their bond has grown so much and whenever I'm having a bad day, I just think back to one of their many interactions and start smiling like a loon all over again. It goes without saying your Rorschach is absolutely-fucking-phenomenal - all your muses are, but your writing in particular pulled Watchmen from the deepest recesses of 2009 and dragged it right back into the forefront again. Dan, Liz and Adrian are all beautifully written but I can't deny these two are something deeply special to me. Guilty as charged, your honor. ♥ Your Rorschach being gay (which I adore about him) is so brilliantly portrayed and reasoned, so it's all the more meaningful that, in the best case scenario, he'd actually be okay with platonically marrying Khare? I don't think she'd mind either; sure he's no Bruce Wayne, but that doesn't matter to her because she adores him and he really is the closest friend she's got, both in Gotham and probably in her life which was nothing special until, you know, the whole getting-kidnapped-and-turned-into-an-experimental-guinea-pig type thing. He's been good to her though, and even though not a lot of people like him very much, he's important to her, so even though it's not likely there's a world where this would actually happen given the issues™ our two have, just the thought that he'd willingly do this for her says a lot considering his attitude about women. She gets a green card, he gets a beard so nobody looks at them too closely and Rorschach can continue contending with his feelings and accept his being gay. It's a win/win situation if, you know, Rorschach didn't have a crippling deathwish and Khare wasn't basically rotting from the inside out. Still, it's a very sweet thing to think about and these two being able to heal from their pasts and come out as better people for it.

Fanfic roadmap for the near future...

So I'm working on a longer oneshot wip and it's about 69% done. (I won't promote it on this blog when I do post it, but there's your hint as to its contents.)

But, after that, inspiration to revisit my series, The Risen Lamb and the Fallen God, has definitely hit. Though I still cherish it dearly, there's a lot I want to expand upon! I wrote it a year ago in a hyperfixated stupor, and looking back at it now, I have so many more ideas I want to delve more into. I'm planning to absolutely keep my first drafts up as a series because I intended for most of them to be able to stand alone. This time around I'll probably write it as a multichapter fic, since I aim to build upon many of the plot elements. With all I'm planning to add, I expect the wordcount to double.

For those of you who are following me from my earlier days, I'd love to hear from you all what you want to see more of in a rewrite of the series. I don't think I'll delete many (if any) scenes from my first draft, but some ideas I plan to detail further in my new-and-improved Narilamb saga include the following so far: the awkward not-quite-enemies but not-quite-friends stage between Narinder and the Lamb, Lamb's raw bitterness towards Narinder soon after the boss fight for betraying them (and vice versa!), lore from the Relics of the Old Faith update including interactions with the Mystic Seller (and thus Lamb needing Narinder's guidance on wielding the crown, which opens them up to the idea of how much they actually need him as an ally), Narinder interacting with the other members of the cult... among other smaller ideas as well.

When I started thinking about this series again, it made me realize how many of my readership have stuck around from my early days in the fandom. Those of you who have stuck around for more than a year and continue to read what I put out, especially, seeing you continuously makes me so, so happy. I appreciate you all so much.

given some recent events, i just wanna emphasize that this is a low activity / slow replies blog. i am a full time worker who's also still finishing up university & taking some language courses. so yeah, not a whole lot of free time these days.

i may take days up to weeks to reply to things, and sometimes when i finally have free time, i'll only have muse to reply to certain threads / interact with certain characters. this is nothing against you or the character you play, it's just how things have to be for me in order for this to keep being my fun and safe space. i may also drop threads without previous warning or end up not answering to every meme you send me and again-- don't be upset, this is nothing against you or your muse. sometimes i just can't come up with a good enough idea to write a decent reply to some things i receive in my ask box-- and i certainly don't like spewing out half-assed replies just for the sake of replying to absolutely everything i get.

with that being said, if you truly wish to interact with my ichi, come into my im's for us to plot !! i've come to realize that ooc talk with other muns gives me more motivation to write / makes things a lot more fun for me !!

& lastly but more importantly, it's ok to send me messages asking about a thread we have and that i haven't replied to in a while, just don't do so every single day because that's just... not cool.
