omegle shutting down. i know the internet is going to make jokes like it always does but reading what he had to say actually made me tear up, to think that man fought to make his little website he made when he was eighteen after experiencing s*xual trauma something its not because he saw the good in his own creation and it almost destroyed him in the process. im glad he decided to get rid of it all together for the better of everyone.

ive tried rolechat and emerald-whatever, the alleged omegle alternatives now and. im still sad. theyre weird and different and my 'tism doesnt like that... maybe its just my anxiety but goddamn im terrified that this is the end of fandom rps as we know it.

like.

the anonymity and the ability to disconnect without fearing repercussions was what made omegle the perfect place for ppl like me who just needed to disconnect sometimes bc the vibes were off or just cause i wasnt feeling an rp.

these other sites -- while im sure are just trying to hold users accountable -- have taken that safety and reassurance away.

and idk how to deal with it to be quite honest.

Rest in peace, Omegle. I know a lot of people clown on the site, but I genuinely had a lot of fun on there. It was an amazing place to roleplay. It was an amazing place to meet new people. I met one of my best friends when I was younger on Omegle. I'm wishing her the best and I'm wishing Leif K-Brooks the best in their journey going forward.
