Bad Blood Chapter 1
Originally, this was meant to be connected to Young Justice: Demigods Arising but I have decided to tweak it a bit and make it the true Demigods Arising story of sorts. This is connected to the Osiris fic and whilst it is kinda Cassie-centric, it also focuses on other characters too.
"Any news about Cassie?"
"Nah. No one has found her yet."
Tim sighs. It has been a month since Cassie disappeared after her humiliating defeat to Vanessa for the Wonder Girl title. Part of her regrets that decision to have said duel take place. She made that decision not considering what Cassie was going through then. The poor girl lost her then boyfriend Conner Kent and later got dumped by him. Sure, Conner returned but their relationship soon turned toxic to the point where the two engaged in a physical altercation in the School Hall that caused Cassie to get suspended for two weeks. As a result of this, Diana decided to punish her not taking into consideration Cassie’s physical and mental exhaustion at that point. According to Tatiana, Cassie overtrained herself and that led to Cassie’s humiliating defeat.
And now it is too late, Cassie has gone and would never return and if she ever returns, the girl would have joined the Dark Side which should not surprise anyone given her heritage and the negative influence of people like Ares. As if that wasn't bad enough, Cassie's younger twin sister Tatiana also followed suit.
Adding more to the Cassie mystery is that she immediately deleted all her social media accounts on the same day as her defeat. That alone alarmed everyone as it is a well-known fact that Cassie loved taking selfies and playing around on social media and often talks to fans on there. But now that her presence is no longer felt, many began to panic, feeling that the poor girl might have committed suicide. This naturally led to the #JusticeForCassie campaign and #WonderWomanCancelled movement.
Please let Cassie not be dead.
Meanwhile in her room, Barbara was going through some files that she managed to dig up about HIVE case. So far she had managed to find some leads. Heck she can even say that she is far more competent and smarter than the entire Team as they are all a bunch of little kids. What was Batman thinking of putting little kids on a superhero team? Ok they are young kids, but they still could qualify for a wannabe superhero team since they all wear stupid outlandish costumes and use silly codenames, themselves and the so-called adults that call themselves Justice League. Seriously, what the fuck is that fucked up shit? Worst of the bunch as far as she is concerned is none other than Wonder Woman's little sidekick Cassie Sandsmark better known as Wonder Girl.
That girl is such a tragic trainwreck and a bitch. What did Tim and Conner ever see in her? What really pisses her off about the brat is that the girl reminds her of the stupid alien that Dick dated years ago. What was her name again? Oh yes Starfire. More like Hofire. Both of them are disgustingly beautiful. Starfire is a bit better because at least she can kick some ass. Cassie is completely useless that one forgets that she is supposed to be a fucking demigoddess yet someone like Damian can whoop her ass. She should even be able to go toe to toe with Supergirl and give her a nasty beatdown but nope, she gets her ass handed to her. Plus she dared to steal her Dickie from her.
Where did Diana find this child again? Oh yes, Diana did not find her instead the child fucking inserted herself into the Wonder Woman narrative just like Damian forced his way into the Robin title and never once earned nor deserved a single shit till recently. When will those brats learn? No wonder some people wished for Vanessa to take over as Wonder Girl. Ironically said girl is now Wonder Girl now how hilarious.
And alas, poor Cassie has disappeared and is nowhere to be seen. Well GOOD FUCKING RIDDANCE! Barbara cackles evilly as she still plays around on her system.
Meanwhile at Gateway city, Tatiana was in her room with tears in her eyes whilst Donna comforts her. Cassie disappeared immediately after that defeat. One could understand why because that sort of defeat is very humiliating especially when the very girl that caused most of the unneeded drama in your life is responsible for it.
Making matters worse is the fact that many thought that Cassie was an irresponsible person and therefore unworthy to be Wonder Girl. This has been an ongoing debate for the past couple years. Sure Cassie has a temper but she can actually control said temper for the most part. The only reason that said rage has become more pronounced is as a result of Ares’ evil manipulation of his sister; something Diana and Zeus himself warned Cassie about.
Cassie naturally took the bait since she had lost her powers during that time, not like anyone could blame her. Still the fact that many people bashed her for this, Diana included was horrible. Now after years of hypocrisy on the side of the heroes, no one should be surprised if Cassie suddenly and openly denounces them and exposes all their secrets or even goes all Superboy Prime on them or worse commit suicide.
Donna sighed. Sure Cassie has some shortcomings but Diana herself is a hypocrite, in fact everyone has been hypocritical when it comes to Cassie. A lot of the criticism being leveled upon the girl might as well be applied to other heroes as well like Conner or Tim for instance.
Ironically said hypocrisy has been thrown at Amon aka Osiris several times which is why said boy has distanced himself from the superhero community recently. Black Adam openly lambasted the League and everyone else for that and rightfully so.
I hope you find happiness and peace Cassie.
Just then Donna’s phone rings. She checks the phone and discovers that it is Kori calling her. She then answers the call. “Hi Kori.”
“Donna....you have to come down here quick!!”
A couple miles in New York, Cassie is standing on top of a rooftop, preparing to throw herself down and commit suicide. Now one would find it laughable since she is meant to be a demigoddess, until they realize one disturbing detailing: Cassie lost her powers yet again during the duel and has remained powerless ever since.
The rest of the Team bursts through the door. “CASSIE DON’T!!” Conner shouts. Cassie turns around with tears in her eyes. The others begin to feel guilty for making her feel that way.
“There is nothing left for me here. You have all made it clear that I do not belong here. So why waste my time when I can just elsewhere and find peace. Heck even Hell is more peaceful than here. I cannot stay with the gods because of they are going through their own drama and are killing each other anyway.”
She takes a couple steps back. “Cassie I understand why you are mad at us and you have every right to hate us. But I want you to know that there are people that still love you regardless.” Kori says in the most gentle way possible.
It was at that moment that Cassie literally explodes. “LIES!! PURE UTTER LIES!! IF YOU ALL REALLY CARED, YOU WOULD HAVE ALLOWED ME TO PROPERLY EXPLAINED MYSELF!! YOU WOULD NOT HAVE ENCOURAGED TIM OR ANYONE TO BE ABUSIVE TO ME!!! YOU WOULD HAVE STOPPED BABS WHEN YOU SPREAD HER FILTHY GOSSIP ABOUT ME AND ALL OF YOU JOINED IN TO SLUTSHAME ME FOR YOUR PLEASURE!! YOU ARE AS BAD AS THE MEDIA!! PURE UTTER HYPOCRITES WHO ONLY CARE ABOUT HOOTING THEIR HORNS!! NOW I CAN SEE WHY PEOPLE LIKE JASON TURNED THEIR BACKS ON HUMANITY AND CHOSE TO DO HARDCORE JUSTICE!! YOU MOTHERFUCKERS ARE NOT SO DIFFERENT FROM THE VERY FOOLS WE HAVE BEEN FIGHTING FROM YEARS!!”
Everyone keeps quiet. Cassie clearly had been waiting for this moment and she has now gotten an audience. “Oh and speaking of failures, how many times have we been supposedly, not I used supposedly in quotation marks here because that shows how stupid you all are, were ahead of the bad guys only for them to outsmart us and somehow win?”
Dick and Kaldur exchange looks. “You know, had it not been for my father, I would have rotted in jail. Oh and special shoutout to the Black Adam family, the only family that ever truly cared about me. Plus of course Donna and Tatiana. The rest of you can go fuck yourselves and leave me be!!” She turns her back to them and ignores them as she walks over to the edge.
“Cassie wait...”
She stops and turns around as Vanessa walks in. “Cassie, listen I know you are mad. If you want to lash out. Take it out on me.” she says calmly, hands raised. Before anyone could say anything, Cassie stomps towards her so-called rival and aims a punch at Vanessa who does nothing to stop her.
Fortunately for her, Cassie stops mid-punch and drops to her knees and begins to break down in tears. Vanessa bends down and hugs her predecessor. “Listen Cass. No matter what anyone else says, you will always be Wonder Girl. In fact you are way better than I am. I do not like the great divide that Diana has created. There are other ways this could have been done.” she says. Cassie simply sobs, feeling very bad for lashing out.
“I...I’m so sorry...”
Vanessa smiles softly. “You do not have to apologise. We are both victims in this. Besides, I told Diana that I quit.” Cassie stares at her in disbelief. ”You did not have to.”
“Yet I did.”
Cassie shakes her head. “No. You remain Wonder Girl.” Cassie then smiles. “Besides, you earned it anyways.” Vanessa giggles and hugs her back. Everyone heaves a sigh of relief.
Osiris who had just arrived makes a slow descent next to them. “Cass, I understand you hate everyone and whatnot but if you throw yourself down there, chances are you might end up worse than Todd the moment they choose to bring you back from the dead. Or if you choose down a dark path now, you might end up the way Adam did years ago.”
The girl simply nods. “ I might as well go clear my mind of things for a while.”
He comes closer to her. “You know, you could have simply asked and I would gladly take you home with me so that you can get some breathing space since quite frankly, you need some of that.’ She rolls her eyes. “Fine. Let’s go.’ She wraps her arms around his neck with him wrapping his arms aorund her securely and together they fly away.
“Wait....that was it?“ says Garfield, earning a smack across the head from Raven. “Oww!!” he grumbles. Tim meanwhile stares up at the sky with jealousy in his eyes which is funny considering his relationship with Stephanie.
So she has choosen him hm? This whole shit was a setup to make that announcement.

Homesick: Chapter 2
Okay yeah nvm this is eeasily going to be 4 or 5 chapters. It’s too fun to put down.
Read it on AO3
Read it on Fanfiction.net
Robin,
Starfire and I are safe. We haven't been kidnapped. We haven't been taken against our will. Something has come up, and Starfire and I had to leave immediately. We have our communicators in case of emergency, but we ask that you don't contact us. This is something we have to do on our own, and we don't know how long it'll take. Think of it as a mission.
We'll come home eventually, I promise. But for right now, we need to be left alone.
- Raven
He'd reread the note about a dozen times, once to be sure it was Raven's handwriting, another to be sure there wasn't a secret message to be decoded within the lines of neat cursive, the other eight times because he couldn't believe it.
True to form, Starfire and Raven were long gone from Titans Tower by the time the first ray of sunlight hit his eyes. He'd inched slowly out of Barbara's arms, careful to cover her bare shoulder, where his baggy shirt had shifted in her sleep, with his comforter. Robin had started the morning feeling rather well-rested, more than he typically did. It'd taken him a trip to the kitchen, a plate of eggs and bacon, and a full glass of orange juice to find the note scribbled and hastily attached to the fridge with a magnet. He'd thought little of it at first, wrote it off as a note from Raven, who was usually up at this time (or before him) to remind Cyborg to pick up more herbal tea. He'd finished the last bite of his eggs and practically swallowed his bacon, then got up to read the note, just for curiosity sake. He'd taken his glass of orange juice with him, brought it to his lips to take a sip as he read the first line of the note.
It was from Raven, but that was not a polite reminder.
His scream was what got Cyborg and Beast Boy crashing through the sliding door.
A few hours had passed since then, and after a quick check on Starfire's tracker, they had concluded that the note was to be taken at face value, that their girls were safe, just… out. Somewhere in the city. Barbara had taken to wrapping his hand, the one he'd been holding his glass with, the one that'd crushed that glass like a soda can, once she'd woken up. Even now, she was watching him from her seat next to him on the sofa, eyes following every twitch of his hand with a familiar concern, the kind only Barbara Gordon was capable of. Beast Boy and Cyborg had been startled by her sudden presence, as she came stumbling into the room in a blind panic moments after they had, but were put to ease when she told them she was family. Beast Boy, specifically, had been more willing to take the explanation with little confrontation when he saw his girlfriend's handwriting in Robin's non-bleeding hand.
"Dick-"
"It's Robin." She winced and he turned to her, feeling a wave of guilt, fresh, more current than the guilt that was now a program running separately, and probably would be until his teammates got home. His brows furrowed, and he sighed. "Sorry, Babs. I'm not… I'm not Dick Grayson here. I'm Robin, and it's going to stay that way."
She frowned and moved closer to him, raising one hand to rest against his cheek. "You're sounding a lot like your old man, Dick." He huffed, but pressed the palm of his hand to hers.
"I know, I just… I'm worried about Starfire. And Raven."
"But mostly about Starfire?"
He gave her his best smirk, the best he could give when that secondary program was running in the back of his mind. She didn't smile back, and so it faded. "I just can't help but wonder if I did something wrong? Starfire's only done this once before, and if she's out there-!"
"Dick. She wants to be left alone. Give her a few days."
Robin grimaced. "I'm not sure I can wait that long…"
Barbara moved her hand from his face, but winced at the movement. Robin's eyes widened, and he was delicately gripping at her waist in a blink. "Does it still hurt?"
"Ugh, a little. Nothing I can't handle."
"I'm not him, you know." She winced again as he lifted her shirt up by the hem, only an inch, asking for permission. He looked her in the eye, serious, a leader, not a sidekick. "You're allowed to show weakness around me." She gave him a weak smile, and moved back so he could lift her shirt up to her bosom. The bandages from the night before were bloody, not quite as bloody as they would have been had she tried to do it herself, but bloody enough that they needed changing. She was more worried about her bruises, the trail she knew would trace her stomach and reach around to her upper back. Bad intel, right place. Robin grazed one of the bruises with light fingers, and she hissed. Okay, maybe wrong place AND bad intel. "Let's get you to Cyborg. He's not a medic, but he can wrap you up better than I could, and now that he's awake you can't argue."
She opened her mouth to do just that, but found it pointless. If anything, his time away from Batman had made him even more of a stubborn mule, and she was in too much pain to reject some painkillers.
Beast Boy groaned and ran his hands down his face, pulling at his skin.
"Come on, man! Just tell me where she is so I know she's safe!"
"Nu-uh, no way, BB. If Raven and Star wanna be left alone, it's not our business to go tracking them down."
Not his business? This was his girlfriend they were talking about! Raven! Raven, who'd he only just started to get to know in the way he wanted to, Raven who slept by his side, who he kissed awake in the mornings, who was always up front with him when he did something wrong. Had he done something wrong? He'd sniffed himself earlier, and hygiene definitely wasn't the problem, he didn't think. But yesterday she'd been so finicky in the morning, hadn't let him touch her. He'd asked her what was wrong but she'd practically made his pillow explode. They'd been okay the night before- wait, was that it? Had he messed things up in the bedroom? Dread filled him, and he pressed closer to the computer, struggling to get around Cyborg's arm.
"Cyyyy!"
Cyborg shook his head. "Sorry, BB. I'm keeping my lips sealed." He nearly felt bad when he saw Beast Boy's ears droop low enough to touch his head, lips wobbling together like a toddler on the verge of crying. He might have been. Couldn't say he blamed the guy. He was worried too, knew it wasn't like Raven to run away from her problems, and definitely wasn't like her to drag Starfire along for the ride. He exhaled and patted Beast Boy's shoulder; Beast Boy looked up at him, but did not raise his head. "She's fine, BB. For all we know this is just an alien girl thing." That's what he was telling himself, anyway.
"You think?"
"I bet, and they'll be back home in no time."
Beast Boy gave Cyborg a small smile, ears perking up considerably.
The morning sickness had not gotten easier. Between the motel's cheap toiletries and the poor sleep she'd been getting, they might have gotten worse. Only 2 days into her endeavor to figure herself out, and she was already wishing she was at home in the tower, rushing out of Beast Boy's bed to puke instead of falling out of the cheap sheets on her twin-size bed to vomit in a bathroom a quarter of the size of the one she'd used in the tower. Starfire's presence helped calm her most of the time. Her gut-wrenching sounds would often wake Starfire in the dead of night, even when she closed the door. She hated to live in such close quarters that there was practically no privacy, but she couldn't help but be thankful when Starfire's hands rested on her back, quelling the circus parading around in her stomach.
They'd managed to convince the motel owner to let them stay the first two nights without pay- with interest. He was a slimy man, short and balding with stains at his armpits and a snarl on his ironically fuzzy lip. He waddled around like a fat pregnant bird (she'd snorted when Starfire pointed that out) and shouted like an angry one, but he'd agreed to let them take one of his rooms without pay for the first two nights- gave them a balcony view because "well, you are Titans". Raven's eyes twitched.
"Friend Raven, glorious news!" Just as Raven stumbled her way back into the kitchen area- a small square of space where the bathroom sink and mini fridge were- Starfire bounded into their room with a smile on her face and a paper in her hand. Raven raised an eyebrow, silently urging Starfire to continue, but also signaling that she didn't have to pretend to be happy. Neither of them were, she could feel Starfire's happy disposition slipping by with each day. Well if I had found Beast Boy with another woman… Blonde hair and blue eyes, a beautiful smile, they all flashed by her mind's eye. Raven shook the thought from her mind. Getting upset over hypotheticals, over the past, and carrying a grudge against their leader would do nothing to help their predicament. Starfire's smile dissolved into a much smaller, satisfied smile. "I have found a place of employment. I begin tomorrow morning."
"That's great, Star."
"Yes, the believe my powers will be a great asset to the waitressing."
That was a laugh. Starfire hadn't so much as hovered over the ground in the last two days, let alone found her strength and starbolts. She was as useful as a normal, homeless, human girl. Raven shuddered. Homeless. That's what she and Starfire were. She would have been fine had it just been her; she'd found a way to live without a home before she'd met the Titans, she would have figured things out for herself. But she wasn't alone anymore- she had two other people to worry about, and that was enough to knot her chest in spirals. "I'll try to find something."
"No! You are with child and-!"
"Star, I can work for another six months at least. I may as well carry my weight around here."
Starfire did not look satisfied with that answer, but she sighed and uncrossed her arms, walking to the other end of their motel room where there was a desk set up. Cheap, and clearly made of faux wood, but stable. It worked. She glanced down to where they'd set their suitcases, to where their communicators sat side-by-side, untouched. She knew Raven told them that they did not want to be bothered, but a part of her, the part that was less confused and angry and hurt (because there wasn't a single part of her that wasn't), that part was hoping Robin would call, just to be sure they were okay. He hadn't.
There was a hand at her shoulder. Raven was frowning, and Starfire took that to mean she was worried she'd rat them both out. She wouldn't dare, it was not her choice to make, but she was tempted to call Robin. See him. Hear his voice, hear him tell her in that calming, caring tone that he loved her, that this was all a misunderstanding, that there wasn't a woman in his bed, that he wasn't glowing in post-coital- "Starfire."
"I am… sorry. Please, let us find something to eat." She shrugged Raven's hand off, gently, and gave her a small smile, hoping she wasn't gazing too hard into her emotions. Raven's eyes scrutinized her, but she didn't say anything. Instead she covered her upper arms with her hands, rubbing the bare skin there up and down.
"What exactly are you in the mood for?"
There, food. That was a nice neutral topic. She felt her spirits lighten. "Pizza!"
Raven smiled at the growl of her stomach. Baby wanted pizza. "All right, but we can't go to our usual place." It was that specific pizza she was craving most, but she'd make do with a bigger franchise's.
"Glorious! I will go downstairs and ask for a list of nearby pizza establishments!"
She jogged out of their room, and Raven took a seat at the edge of her bed, waiting for her to return with a list in hand. The bed shifted under her weight and squeaked, and she exhaled the breath she'd been holding, leaning back until her head hit the mattress, leaving her legs to dangle listlessly over the side. Her arms spread out to either side of her, wrists reaching a few inches over the width of her twin. Two days. It'd only been two days, and she already wanted to go home.
The pizza had been okay, not as good as the pizza from their usual place, but still just enough to satisfy both of them. And with only two Titans versus the normal five count? More pizza for both of them. The rest of the night had flown by as Starfire watched reality shows and she curled up on her bed with a book and the motel's complimentary hot tea. It had felt like only an hour had passed when it'd been closer to four, and the yawns they both found escaping them were a clue from their bodies that it was the right time to retire for the night.
Starfire had just gotten under the covers, lifting all of them off of the bed and escaping under them before they came back down. Raven wordlessly slipped under her covers, resting her head against the pillows. "Goodnight Friend Raven."
"Night, Star."
There was silence, and the darkness swept over the room like an added blanket, sweeping over her eyes, gracing the skin of her upturned face; it was calm. She wondered how many nights she'd have left before sleeping became impossible. Being away from home as it was put strain on her cycle. When the baby grew, when it was big enough and developed enough to start kicking around her stomach like Kid Flash on a sugar high, would sleep completely elude her then? What about when the baby came, when she could hold it in her arms, when it woke her in the dead of night to cry?
She wondered how other women got by, how they got up at two in the morning every night to raise their child from their crib and sway them back into slumber. She imagined that inevitable night, what it would be like for her to force herself awake, to stumble blindly into a small room filled with toys and books and stuffed animals, to a room with a single crib pressed up against a window that held the moonlight like a lantern against soft tendrils of hair. She imagined approaching on light feet, hearing the cries of a small angry infant settling as its mother drew closer, tantrum dying down to a temper as she picked her baby up and shifted to and fro in calming, meditative motions. She could hear its cries settling to whimpers, whining noises that told her that baby was happier, but not quite as satisfied as it could be. And that would be when arms wrapped around her from behind, when warm lips pressed against the back of her head before laying at her ear, whispering a lullaby to soothe both her and the baby.
Raven grimaced. She wouldn't have that, that was why other women got through it. A partner to lean on. A man who loved them and their child unconditionally. Even so, the voice that whispered lullabies in her ear, that rocked her body back and forth in a smooth, warm embrace, it was achingly familiar, and she swore she felt the ghost of a fang gracing her lobe. Instinctively, she brushed her ear with her fingers, some part of her hoping that she'd feel fur when she did. There was nothing, only the cold level softness of her pillow. Azar, what would she do?
"Raven?"
She sighed. Well, this would be a distraction at the very least. "Yes?"
"Do you still…" Starfire paused, fumbling around with her hair, Raven caught it in her peripheral. She was laying on her stomach, one arm tucked under her pillow, hands and fingers playing messily with her hair, each other, whatever she could get ahold of. She bit her lip, then released her hair. "Do you still wish to see Friend Beast Boy?"
"Of course I do, Star, but I can't."
"Might I ask why?" Raven turned her head toward her, gesturing with a trace of annoyance to her stomach. Starfire's eye widened before she glanced back down. "Oh, that is right…"
Raven exhaled and turned to face the ceiling again. "Anything else?" Irritation had seeped into her tone, not that she'd been close to falling asleep anyway.
"... I suppose not."
The two fell into silence again, leaving Raven alone with her thoughts, quite frankly the worst place for her to be. The darkness that had been comforting before now seemed to swallow what little she could see of the room like an alive black mass, sweeping slowly over the few inches of the ceiling she could see. She closed her eyes and sighed. "Starfire, do you know why I wanted you to come?"
Starfire was quick to reply, though she'd heard her startle at her sudden question. "Because you require the assistance?"
"Partly. But there's another reason."
Starfire was quiet, contemplating the right answer. She heard her shuffle, moving so that she was on her back, head tilted to her right so she could try to make Raven's face out in the dark. She was twirling her hair around her finger again, and Raven was starting to pick up that it was a nervous habit. "Because Robin had premarital relations with a woman of whom we do not know the name of?
"No, Star." Raven sat up in bed, moving from darkness to sit directly in the light of the moon. Starfire mirrored her, moving to cross her legs as she faced Raven. "I asked you to join me because you needed the space as much as I did."
"Raven-"
"He hurt you, Star. You gave him everything. You loved him with such intensity that it overwhelmed my senses. I felt how much you cared for him," she paused, reading the emotions as they crossed Starfire's face- denial, admittance, heartbreak. She flinched. "I know how it feels, Starfire. I know what it's like to trust somebody completely, to give them whatever you have left of your heart, and I know what it's like to have them break you into a million pieces."
Starfire's eyes glossed over, glassy green reflected like a crystal ball in the moonlight as recognition crossed her face. "Raven…" She paused again, biting down on both of her lips this time, trying to find the right way to word what she wanted to ask. She turned her frown to the floor, then met Raven's eyes again with an understanding. "You are not talking of Malchior, are you?"
Raven felt her heart cringe, made her press her teeth together. "No. I'm not."
"Then Beast Boy has betrayed you as well by having relations with another female?"
"Not quite, but… something close to it."
"I do not understand?"
Raven glanced to the side, glaring down at the slope of the covers where fer feet lay. "Terra."
Starfire gasped, and part of her, the part of Raven that never quite felt like she was good enough, flinched at what sounded like giddy surprise. "Terra? You mean she is-?"
"No, Terra still hasn't regained her memories, but" she raised on hand to her shoulder, the one where Beast Boy had lugged her along when he'd changed into the beast. It was a fond memory she had of him- of them. She feared those were all in the past now. "Beast Boy still thinks about her. Sometimes, when he's being particularly sweet, or when he's trying to make me laugh…" She shut her eyes, not willing to see the look that would appear on Starfire's face. "Sometimes I wonder if he's really seeing me, or if he's seeing her."
"But you do not look like Friend Terra?"
"No, I don't…"
And yet for some reason he'd called out for Terra in his sleep the night before she left.
The memory of it left her stomach churning painfully again, and she gripped at it through the sheets. Tears stung at the corners of her eyes, but she blinked them back furiously. There was no more time for crying. Or was this exactly the time for crying? She wasn't sure. All she could think about was laying in bed with Beast Boy, carding her fingers through his hair, leaving kisses along his exposed neck as he slept like a log. She remembered laying down beside him, though she couldn't sleep, remembered pressing her nose to his, being content to watch him and love him in total silence. And then he'd said it. Said another name in his sleep. Moaned like a man discovering a woman for the first time. She'd known it was stupid, known he couldn't control who he did or did not have dreams about. Terra had been his first love- of course, of course he'd still dream about her. But that didn't make it hurt any less when he was in bed with her.
"Please, I am confused. Beast Boy has not betrayed you?"
"Not on purpose, I guess."
Starfire's wide eyes fluttered to a more narrow shut, thick with empathy, slick with tears. "But you still feel as though he has. You are not worried about Beast Boy being a good father-"
"-so much as I'm worried about him leaving me knocked up and single, yeah…"
"You fear his heart belongs to Terra?"
"I don't fear it, Star, I know it. The fear is that he doesn't love me enough to choose me anyway."
"... I see."
They both fell into silence again. Raven adjusted and laid back down, fixing the covers so that she could at least feel the warmth of cheap cotton. She heard Starfire laying back down beside her, flicking the comforter up as she slid back under it completely.
"... Raven?"
"Yes?"
"You will not be left alone to raise your child. I am here for you, and Cyborg and Robin would…" Starfire trailed off, not entirely sure how to finish her sentence.
Raven smiled to herself. "Maybe."

Jason stared at that ass, those hips, the legs, fuck she wasgorgeous. He liked the way she was so damn, deceptively delicate. But her legs,her ass, her hips…
He smiled when she turned to him. Her long, thick black hairtangled loosely, and she had a smile on her lips. Jason watched her closely asshe walked over to him slowly.
“What are you thinking about?” she asked.
“First time I saw you,” he admitted.
“How’d that work out for you?” she asked him as she leanedover him.
~~~*~*~*~~
Jason had cased the joint for months, he had been patientand waited for his moment to strike. Once he was sure he could get into the damnTower and not be annihilated by Dick’s traps, and all the tech that is.
But that meant watching all the asshole’s teammates. He hadalso studied the footage of Dick’s Red X persona very closely. He was sure thatif he got the suit he could fake being Red X enough to get Slade off that moron’stail. He was only in this fucking mess because of Talia, and B, and everyoneelse; and even if they didn’t like him or want him, well… they were the closestdamn thing he had ever had to family.
Dick’s tastes in women still sucked.
However, if Jason could learn to flirt with Babs as Robinthen he was sure he could flirt with this new fiery chick. He didn’t get whatit was with Dickhead an redheads with green eyes. He really didn’t. Granted theorange fiery chick was smoking hot, tall, curvy, vivacious, but she was so damninnocently naïve. Jason had trailed around after his ‘brother’s’ idiot group offriends and had to admit that thus far he was vastly unimpressed.
Okay, that wasn’t entirely true. The moron had pulledtogether a pretty solid team.
There was a cyborg, which Jason was betting money on beingthe same cyborg from the Invasion which had helped the ‘League’ against theInvasion. Yeah; Jason might live life in the fucking caves these past few yearsbut he still had access to google and he wasn’t a fucking moron.
There was a freaky greenling, which he thought was more annoyingthan an asset. Still, he was a dangerous enemy with an arsenal of animals athis disposal, but the kid was unimaginative.
The sexy redhead was a bit of a problem, she had powers,energy base if he was to hazard a guess, and she was trained in combat. No wayshe’d be an easy opponent, but he could totally take her.
Dickhead was still Dickhead, and Jason had grown up, outgrown his ‘brother’s’ (he sneered at the association) shadow. He was more dangerousthan Dickhead could ever be, or hope to be. Jason knew it, so he did not foreseeDickhead being a problem; as long as he could stay in control.
However, the only problem was the unknown variable in theequation.
She was tiny, had legs, ass and hips; all of which he was eyeingat the moment as he saw the teen leaning over the counter. Holy FUCK! He had tofocus on breathing despite everything that was running through his head. Her shortviolet hair bobbed as she turned on him.
Now, despite her youth she was so damn sexy he reallyfocused on breathing so his body didn’t react. Still he shot her a rogue grin.Her eyes were dark, he could quite figure out their color, her skin was so paleit wasn’t white, but she still had that ethral quality. Her upper lip was plump,and fuller than her bottom lip. She had sharp, proud features, but there was asorrow in her features. It reminded him of a Navajo woman he had met once, but italso reminded him of Holocaust survivor pictures. She was breath takinglygorgeous.
“Can I help you?” her monotone was smoky. It should be, hesupposed, she seemed to be composed of shadows.
“No, just picking up a few books, you?” he asked.
~~~*~*~*~~~
He saw her again that night, and smiled behind his mask ashe went for her first. Removing her was not fun, but he felt it necessary. Shewas the only real distraction for him. He even indulged in unnecessary flirtingwith Starfire to fuck with Dickhead before making his escape.
He really wanted to tease the little shadow, but didn’t ashe escaped.
~~~*~*~*~~~
It felt like forever since he had first run into Raven with shortviolet hair, that pale gray skin, and more apathy than a poker player.
Now he stared at his best friend resting against him, herhair was long, midnight black with natural violet undertones, that mask ofapathy and more genuine empathy for others than anyone else he had ever met.
“I thought you were hot, and Dick had terrible tastes in women,”Jason admitted.
“And now?” she asked.
“Dick still has terrible tastes, and you’re still theclassiest woman I have ever met,” he clarified for her.
“Should I be offended or amused?”
“Neither. It’s just a fact Raven.”
“Is classy a down grade from hot?” she asked.
“An upgrade really,” he said. Raven was so damn far out ofhis league it was kind of painful, he was pretty damn lucky she thought himworthy of her companionship. Else he’d still be Red X and probably watching herfrom afar.
“Kay, is’t Valentines Day, so what are we going to watch?”
“Breakfast at Tiffany’s?” he suggested.
“Really? A chick flick? From you?”
“Audrey Hepburn,” he stated.
“And that clarifies why you’d want to watch it,” she mused.
“Are you kidding! She’s gorgeous, and awesome, only tolerablechick flick ever made.”
“Fine at least it’s not the Notebook,” Raven decided.
“Trust me, you’ll like it.”
“I do trust you, it’s part of the problem.”
“Come on little bird, it’s the only day of the year we canbe saps.”
“True.”
“And we both don’t have dates.”
“Also true.”
“So why the fuck not?”
“Fine. I’ll get the popcorn.”
“You are a Queen,” Jason announced.
“I know,” she dismissed.
“And still hot,” he mused as he watched her get up and walk away.Seriously, woman could turn heads with those hips, that ass, and them legs!However, she’d demolish all the moment she opened her mouth and showed herintellect. Raven was pretty fucking amazing that way.
“I heard that.”
“I might be your best friend, but I’m a GUY Rae!” he shoutedback.
“Fine, you got hot thighs Jason,” she admitted.
“Don’t objectify me,” he mocked.
“Then quit staring at my ass.”
“Stop walking away and I might,” he lied. Things had been easierlike this since that ‘date’ Cass had tossed him out on.
“I’m getting popcorn!” she protested.
“I got the movie,” he announced setting it up.
Less than five minutes later he had her tucked up againsthis side and they were watching the start of the movie.
“Rule, only day of the year we watch chick flicks,” hedecided.
“Deal,” she nodded.
“And here’s a beer for you, one for me, we’re set,” he announced.
“Are you trying to get me drunk?”
“I think I learned my lesson on that, Rae,” he assured her.He could still see her naked! Granted that was years ago, but that was besidethe point.
For the prompt thing, how about 99: “This was fun— Lets do it again sometime!” for StarBabs friendship? and 183: “Car sex looks so much more easier in the movies” for naughty Dickkory? Thank you lovely :D (Sorry for being greedy, I couldn't pick between the two!)
*Screaming* YAAAAAAS. It’s okay; I like your choices.
Quickly posting this double feature before bed. The rest will hopefully get written up tomorrow after I finish work.
“This was fun - Let’s do it again sometime!”
Starfire giggled as she took a swig of her mango milkshake. She walked through the Mall automatic doors and glanced at her shopping partner for the day.
Batgirl grinned at her, “I’m not kidding. He almost went splat on the sidewalk if Batman hadn’t grabbed him by that cape of his.”
Almost choking on her milkshake, Starfire snorted behind her hand and descended into giggles, “Truly!?”
“Yup.”
“Oh, I believe he will absolutely hate you for telling me that story!” Starfire laughed, her cheeks pink with mirth,
“Meh, what kind of childhood friend would I be if I didn’t share embarassing stories with his fiancee, hm?” Batgirl smirked, throwing her empty milkshake cup in a nearby trashcan, pausing so Starfire could do the same.
The Tamaranian Princess took a deep breath to control her laughter before turning to Batgirl with bright eyes, “You are ready to go back to the tower?”
She gave Starfire a nod before hiking the shopping bags on her arms up a little more to secure them. She watched her alien friend lift into the air before slipping her wrists into Starfire’s unbreakable hold.
Flying was a fairly new experience to Batgirl and whilst part of her was excited to be swooping above the clouds and along the ocean’s surface, the majority that she felt was fear. She was terrified as Starfire dove and spun and was generally carefree as she wove her way through the clouds.
“How does he do this all the time!?” Batgirl squealed, clenching her eyes shut,
“Who?” Starfire asked, her voice raised so she could be heard above the rushing wind,
“Dick! Does he not freak out even a little bit!?”
Starfire’s tinkling laughter rang out, “Not in the slightest. He is quite the… thrill seeker, as you say. He enjoys the speed and acrobatic traits of flight. He says it is quite freeing. Indeed, I receive many of the ‘whoops’ from him when we fly together.”
Batgirl peeked open one eye briefly before resolutely keeping both eyes shut, “He is insane!”
Shaking her head and laughing, Starfire had the tower in her sights and sped up to get her friend onto the ground quicker.
“We shall be landing soon; do not worry!”
Batgirl replied with a muffled, “Okay!”
Starfire slowed down as she neared the roof of the tower and floated down until both their feet touched the hard concrete. Batgirl shuddered as Starfire released her grip on her wrists.
“That is super scary. I thought it was exhilarating swinging between skyscrapers back in Gotham.”
“Apologies, Batgirl. Next time, I shall keep in mind that you are not quite as much of a ‘speed demon’ as Richard.” She commented, barely containing a smirk,
She narrowed her eyes at Starfire playfully before gently nudging her shoulder with her own, “Hey, I told you. Once out of earshot of civillians, call me Babs, would ya?”
Starfire nodded, “I forgot.”
Suddenly, the door opened and a voice soon followed, “I thought I could hear you two.”
The Princess’ whole face lit up as her fiance wandered out to them, a soft smile on his lips. His arm snaked around her waist and he offered her a small kiss to the temple,
“Did you have fun shopping?” Dick asked,
Starfire nodded and glanced at Babs, who copied her actions.
“This was fun- Let’s do it again sometime!” Babs suggested,
Dick raised an eyebrow, “I don’t know… should I really be allowing you two to get so friendly?”
Babs rolled her eyes and grinned, “Why? Afraid I’ll tell Star all your secrets?”
He blinked before narrowing his eyes, “You-”
She waved him off, “I already told her the best ones. Sorry.”
Dick blushed and he meekly turned to look at Starfire who held an expression of mock sympathy,
“Really, Richard… having to be saved by the Batman by your cape?” Starfire taunted before cracking up in giggles.
The colour of his cheeks became more intense before he glared at Babs, “I hate you.”
She blew him a kiss, “Nah. You don’t.”
“You’re supposed to be here for training; not revealing every failing and embarrassing thing to my soon to be wife.”
Babs snorted and brushed passed him, gently tapping his cheek, “That’s what you get when you grow up with someone, Grayson.”
Starfire laughed and gave him a side cuddle, “Do not fret, my love. Your image is not tarnished in my eyes, I can assure you.”
“Thanks.” He mumbled, pouting.
Barbra opened the door leading downstairs and called over her shoulder, “C’mon Star, I’ll tell you about this other time with a coat hanger Dick confused with a bad guy-”
Starfire exhaled in excitement, floating over to the teasing batfamily member.
Dick shook his head in disbelief before running after the two girls,
“Babs! Don’t you dare!”
“Too late, loser!”
The great Nightwing groaned as he hurried down the stairs behind them, hating to be thwarted by childhood memories.
“Car sex looks so much more easier in the movies.”
“Maybe if you…”
“Yeah, try that.”
“Ow! I do not quite bend that way!”
“Sorry! I thought my foot had more room.”
“What if we…”
“That could work- Oh! Ow! No! Stop!”
“Richard! Are you okay!?”
Kory leaned away and gently touched her boyfriend’s cheek; the place she had just accidentally hit with her knee.
Dick rubbed his face and kissed her fingers, “I’m fine.” He huffed, “Why is this so difficult?”
Blushing, Kory shrugged, “I don’t know why you didn’t just wait until we were home and in bed. At least there we know we will not kick each other in unspeakable areas.”
The former boy wonder rolled his eyes, “Where’s the fun in a bed, Kor?”
Kory narrowed her eyes at him, “Fun? I do not know if you can truly call this fun, Dick. We are sat at the edge of a cliff, naked and with more bruises than we anticipated.”
Dick reddened, “Well… I thought it would be easier than this. Car sex looks so much more easier in the movies.”
His girlfriend shook her head and considered the position they were in. What was initially aiming to be romantic was now something awkward.
Kory lay on her back in the backseat of one of Bruce’s cars which Dick had cheekily ‘borrowed’ for their date night. Her foot was pushing against one of the windows whilst her other foot was caught behind her other thigh, effectively trapped because of Dick’s positioning.
He was on top of her but rather than sensually, it was as if he was squishing her. His chest weighed against hers and he was holding himself up with one arm whilst the other had got caught as he moved and was now stuck behind the passenger seat. His feet were also embarrassingly misplaced. One was tucked between the driver’s seat and the head rest and the other was lodged inside the cup holder.
Dick sighed and dropped his head, “Sorry, Kor. I thought this would be something… exciting and fun but… I guess I kinda messed it up.”
Kory’s brows furrowed and she shifted her eyes, shuffling enough to get comfy. She pulled on his shoulders, releasing his feet and arm from where they were stuck. He fell forward, his arms coming around her and their legs tangling together.
“Hey, there we go! This is what I was going for the first time.” Dick grinned, kissing Kory’s nose.
She dropped her eyes, peering up through her lashes, “Mm… now that we are in a more comfortable position…” Starfire trailed off suggestively,
Dick waggled his eyebrows at her, “Way ahead of you.” He whispered, descending upon her and crushing his lips against hers whilst she gave him muffled giggles.
Just a thought, I always have problems in seeing Dick Grayson’s skill set when he is with the BatFam. I was rereading some of the old Titan and TT books, as well as his solo series and I tend to see that there writers have a better grasp at his skill set. AKA, they treat him as in according to his skill level. He’s not the best at everything, but he is an ace at everything, typical Robin rules apply. I actually see it as well in TTA. Though, I’m beginning to learn why he’s so inconsistent in
-the batbooks. In TT we have the skill set cut out. Leader, tactician, martial arts, acrobatics, close combat, intuition, intelligence, detective know-how, basically Batman Jr. He’s not the best at everything but is an ace at everything, and can substitute for members of the team. 5-Man Band leader rules apply. Nowadays I think they are “the Robin Rules” in which all Robins apply to this, in which all Robins are expected to be this, adjust skills to character accordingly.
—Now all Robins are suspected to follow that rule. Except Jason, oddly enough. Though the current RHaTO is supposed to be a subversion of the Trinity anyways. In solos skill is balanced with things that make the character stand alone, things that make them unique. Acrobatics, detective stuff, tactics. Balancing those skills without a team and implementing more character in them is where I think the solos are best at. As well as, how big of a threat the Big Bad is. —
—Back in the Robin days balancing skills was fairly simpler. He’s a junior partner and therefore at an apprentice level. Never really surpassing the master, though still an ace. He’s in a Duo and therefore the Ying to Bruce’s Yang. But what happens when the apprentice grows up? Does he surpass the master? This wasn’t answered clearly, well ever clearly because when Dick became Nightwing he was off with the Teen Titans. Where he played the “Leader” role. Then he came back because, editorial—
—and we have Tim, and Babs, and Cass, and Bruce. And I feel like BTAS Nightwing is the definitive Nightwing of this era when collabing w/BatFam. Good, but mostly there for plot advancements so skill isn’t really impt. He’s a supporting character. Then late post-Crisis happened and Dick became Batman again almost for realzes this time and had to be as great as Bruce but in his own way (solo skills apply). He also had to be mentor as well. Then we get to the modern era where we have the Robins—
—and Batman. By the Robins we get the guy Robins: Dick, Jay, Tim, Dami. Then Batman himself. This would be ideal 5-man band material itself with Bruce=leader, Dick=Heart, Tim=Smart Guy, Jay=Lancer, and Dami=Big Guy. Now Dick plays another spot in the band. And this is where the conflict kicks in. Dick’s the leader of the TT. The lancer in the Dynamic Duo. And the Heart in the Robin’s 5-Man band. If we include Steph and -Bruce the roles switch but Batbooks tend to focus on this dynamic.—
—Hearts tend to get the skill set that is missing in the team to fill in that role. This is a subversion to Dick since he was the first Robin. But also due to this some of Dick’s skills are downplayed or not even shown at all because it fits another member of the band. Till his main unique skills are the ones that are cherry picked and that is what he has to offer to the band. Since he’s an ace then he easily fill the roles that are missed in the band. Since he has no powers—
—and with band applications in mind Dick’s skill set tends to dumb down. Not all hearts are weak fighters (Starfire) but I feel that the Robin’s 5 band is the one that is most integrated in the 5 man band alignment and stereotypes. Dick’s role as a supporting character and as a Heart affect his abilities. He can no longer be as good a hacker, he can’t be the main lance to Bruce and looses the Daddy-issues vibe, he HAS to be emotionally supportive and offer a quirky big bro vibe—
—there for supporting reasons. He’s a supporting character. He’s still second in line for leadership but his position in the band is what makes his skills sooo inconsistent. What do you think? Sorry 😐 for the long ask… just thought that you’ll find this interesting. Here’s a potato 🥔
Wow. Okay, so this came into my inbox out of order, so I apologize if this isn’t the order that you meant it to be in. I tried my best to piece it together.
So, I’ve been questioning characterization of the batfam (or at least my characterization of them) for the past week or so? So I’m not sure if I’m the best to give my thoughts on this issue, and to be honest, I’m not quite sure exactly what you’re trying to say, so I’m going to give my piece, and if it doesn’t match up to what you were trying to say, then feel free to ignore this.
I think it just might depend on where you look for characterization and skill? I mean, in Young Justice, Dick is a really skilled hacker, but in the comics, he’s fairly average. Tim and Barbara (and Bruce, I think, but don’t quote me on that) both have hacking skills that outweigh his, but that doesn’t mean he’s necessarily bad at it?
The thing that stays consistent about Dick’s skillset is his acrobatics and his characterization is usually very light-hearted, and yes that makes him kind of goofy and he’s not the complete best at everything, but he does know how to get by. Adapt. I think that if Dick can be Batman (and he’s good at it, even if his heart can’t quite take the wear and tear of what Batman means, and Gotham prospers better under Bruce’s Batman), it means he’s flexible. He can adapt to whatever situation and role he needs to play, and he moves forward because of it. Of course, I’d love for Dick to be be able to show all of the skills he’s learned in his fifteen to twenty years of being Robin and Nightwing and Batman, but sometimes it doesn’t turn out like that.
But I don’t think that Dick’s changing skill set makes him a supporting character (I think that’s what you were saying?). Yeah, he can be a goofball sometimes, and he’s definitely the heart of the family, and sure, he’s not the best hacker, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t ground the others. He’s important, to the superhero community and to the batfamily, and without Dick, there would be a lot of things that would be different. Clark once called Dick the multi-verse constant:
Tumblr media
Dick is important, and even though his skill set changes with the writer or the adaption, it doesn’t mean that there isn’t the same person lying underneath. At least, not in my opinion.
Dick is the heart, you said, and I definitely agree, but I don’t think that’s so bad. He grounds people, he can keep Batman in line, and he’s a good person that just wants to do right in the world. Hell, Bruce saved a whole world because of Dick:
Tumblr media
I don’t know if this made any sense, but thanks for asking.
#JayDickWeek2017 Day 2: Confession Under Fire
            Everyone is wondering how Dick and Jason got together.
How could they mess up so bad? The plan was simple. They will use the jet to get to the Watchtower, beat up the bad guys then get out. No talking with the other heroes. No distractions were available. And still they messed up. Instead of having a fight in the tower, they managed to get chased on the jets. So now they were avoiding everything that was thrown at them, try to stay far from the Earth's atmosphere so direct shots didn't get to land.
There was no back-up free. Everyone was busy with their own plans. They could keep the chase for a little longer, until things lighten up.
But things went wrong again. Someone got inside, then two then three more. They fought, breaking so many things inside. The main parts on the outside were hit and broken. Oxygen was running out. Wires everywhere. The control panel didn't work anymore. Red lights bathed them.
From their seats, they saw the outside. The galaxy was sure a big thing and how insignificant they were compared to other planets.
"Hey, Grayson?"
"I'm listening Jay." Dick replied kicking his feet on top of the broken panel.
"Since we are in this situation. I think it's the right time to tell you that I admire you." Jason commented imitating Dick's actions. His arms rested on the sides of the chair, while his head looked forward.
"Same here." He answered, looking at Jason with a smirk. "I wanted to ask you this long ago but I thought that I shouldn't. But, right now I don't even think I have a tomorrow for it so...I like you and all."
"Way to go Golden Boy." They laughed. "Yeah, I kind of like you too. Especially when you don't talk at all. It's nice, really."
"That's the nicest thing you've said to me today, thank you."
"So...do we kiss or what?"
"I got this."
Dick stood up, facing Jason. He stepped closer to Jay's right, leaning forward. He couldn't help himself but to laugh at what they were about to do. Slowly he kissed him, holding his left cheek. The kiss lasted a few seconds before they separated, to chuckle.
"This is probably the gayest thing Imma be saying today but, gee, your lips are so good." Jason expressed, blushing a bit, causing more soft laughter from his partner. Then they both laughed.
"Yep, gayest thing I've heard today."
Well, they were so far from Earth now. It looked like a tennis ball from the distance. Neither of them said it directly but they knew that it was the end for them. All because of a mission that didn't go as planned. They started to wonder how everyone else what doing, since communication collapsed.
They didn't say anything for a solid minute. Then Dick leaned to kiss Jason again. A few quick kisses on his lips then in the corner, slowly walking in front of him. Jason sat properly not sure what was happening but, boy, he couldn't resist it. One of Dick's knees rested right between his legs, while the kisses had started lowering to his jaw.
Knock. Knock.
Dick was forced to hold back to find out were the noise came from. From the window with many scratches, he could clearly see Hal Jordan. He grunted before walking towards the window. He wrote something on the window as some dusk and steam was there.
'What?'
Dick saw Hal laugh as some writing in green glowed from his ring.
'Am I interrupting something? I mean, I could rescue both of you later.'
'Just get us home. Not a word.'
'Yes, sir.'
"Oh my goodness Stephanie!" Barbara cried holding back her laughter. The others did laugh, well, only those who understood the last part. "We have kids here, you know?"
"I didn't tell them to listen tho'!" She excused herself, with a big grin in her face. "Plus, they are Dick and Jason! I'm sure it happened at some point."
"Dick would've told me if he did." Wally said as he chewed chips. "Plus, they've been together for only three months. Dick isn't that type of guy."
"Is it jealousy a sense?" Kate looked at him with a playful grin making him blush. Everybody else exploited in laugh.
"Like hell I am! He's my best friend." He mumbled grabbing another bag of chips fro himself. "And I have Artemis. I don't want him."
"Sure you don't babe." Artemis kissed him in the head. "Anyone to take another guess? Which doesn't involved any mature content?"
"We'll take a guess." Said Kate with Babs leaning against her.
After a long night patrol, Jason was walking in the empty streets. He was too busy to notice someone behind him. Next hing he knew was that he was tied to a chair and pretended he was doomed. He quickly noticed Arsenal, Roy Harper, and Starfire, Koriand'r, tied up too. Since they didn't move, he assume they were knocked unconscious.
"Look who decided to finally join us."
"I don't like crushing private parties." He rolled his eyes. He needed a way to free himself fast and keep his friends safe so they wouldn't harm them. "So, what's the deal? Do I owe you money?"
"Oh no. You owe me more than money. A whole company to be precise. If it wasn't for you, I would have gotten the deal of a lifetime!"
"You might not be able to see it but I'm silently laughing under my helmet."
"You think you are funny, but not today! Today I'll make you a deal. You'll get rid of my enemies and I'll give you your loved ones in exchange."
He went quiet. Now there was no way he could free them. Like, he didn't mind the killing but he wasn't sure what they will think of him after finding out he killed people for them.
"Why so quiet, Red Hood? Wasn't expecting that?"
"Of course I wasn't! I lost you went you said you couldn't kill your enemies so you needed me! What kind of thug are you? Even my dog could be better."
"So funny. But, will your friend Arsenal like a wake up bullet? Or Starfire? It's so hard to decide who should laugh with us tonight."
Now is when Jason started to try to free himself. However it didn't last long as guns were out pointing at him. It was suicide if he continues.
"I died once but a crowbar in the head by a clown. Satan will be disappointed if I go to hell with you as my killer."
Quiet. Jason needed to think fast.
"I'm so sorry to interrupt this little meeting of yours but, I can't let you kill my precious fugitive. So, what do you say if we all lower our guns and talk?" That voice was familiar to everyone in the room. And Jason didn't know if he was grateful or not for the new-comer. "Oh, come on! You know my name!"
Nightwing jumped from the pillars holding the ceiling above them. A smoke bomb was dropped and the bad guys knew it was done for them. The sound of heavy things falling, some breaking, gave Jason an idea of what was happening in there. Once the smoke curtain fully vanished, Nightwing was in the middle of the room with unconscious  thugs around him. Some were shot by their own mates and some still growled in hurt.
"Oh my! What a mess I've made. Let me make it up to you." He turned to the leader, who held a gun pointing at him. "Put the gun down or else I'll be force to knock you out."
"No chance pretty boy."
"My pretty boy is still tied up, so you better make it fast." He challenged before dropping his weapons on the floor. The sound of it echoed in the room and the blast of a bullet broke it. First shot and missed. Nightwing avoided it easily. He moved closer as bullets flew by him, none close to hit him.
...
"Pretty boy." He called Jason, standing in front of him with a bright smile. He didn't say anything else while he untied him. "Got anything sharp?"
"My looks count?" Jason joked trying not to swear out loud.
"See, I could leave you here but I'm too nice. So better help or else..." Dick whispered something in Jason, with a playful smile.
"Fine. Left pocket." He replied turning away from the oldest.
Dick gave a triumphant smile then went to search the pocket. His left hand ran from Jason's knee to his thigh, 'looking' for the pocket knife. With his right hand, and without permission, he took Jason's helmet off. And made him look at him directly.
"The hell are you doing?"
"Take a guess." He whispered back before taking out the sharp object and cutting the ropes. He stayed with the knife a bit longer, just watching Jason's reaction with a smile.
"Oh my! Oh my!" Zatanna interrupted so they wouldn't continue. "That is not family friendly!" She joked as they laughed.
"Fine. Maybe we went a bit overboard." Babs said faking innocence. She did a little fistbumbed with Kate.
"I can assure you that did not happen!" Roy said out loud, pointing at the girls with his drink in hand.
"Me too. I don't recall that happening." Kori was a bit confused about said story but was completely sure it didn't happened.
"Ok, ok. Maybe Roy and Kori weren't there at all but it could have happened anyways." Kate defended.
"Anyone else?" Zatanna asked taking a slice of pizza from the box.
"Since everyone is making things up, I'll have a go!" Wally accepted.
Both Jason and Dick were being chased by some super-villains and the police. The reasons were a robbery and a murder. Neither of them were caused by them but they just couldn't stop for anything. It happened in the middle of Gotham as cars passed and people walked to late dinner shops. The moon was bright above their heads and no sign of the other members were present.
"So, what are you up to?" Dick asked as they jumped from one building to another. He seemed to be enjoying the chase somehow.
"Well, I don't know right now but it's not good at all." He responded, half turning to shot the man shooting at them in a helicopter.
"Excuse me, serial killer. Will you kindly not shot him?"
"Then?"
"Don't jump." He said as he rolled down in between two building. Jason reacted a bit late causing him to tripped down losing his balance. A hand caught his to swung him to a balcony in front of them. "Hold yourself up for a second." He pleaded before letting go and landing on top of a air conditioner box, without ripping it off the building.
...
They stayed on lower grounds for a bit, following their chasers close. Their spy skills kicked in but were soon put away as they escaped. Now they were underground, in the sewerage, following a track send by the Red Robin.
"Tim said that we'll be able to reach the bat-cave if we follow this." Dick commented showing his phone screen to his partner. "If we are lucky, Killercroc won't be roaming this place right now."
"Now that's a stereotype." Dick giggled at the comment said. "It's true. Just because he is a big-ugly-ass crocodile doesn't mean he'd at the sewerage."
"Maybe you could show me movies were it doesn't happen. I'd like to find one." He offered lending his phone to Jason.
"It's said then. Tomorrow night in my place."
"Oh boy, you are so gonna regret doing this."
"Then you should be grateful you are pretty. If you weren't, then you'll be doomed in society."
"I'll take it as a compliment. Thank you." He elevated his hands to the back of his neck, smiling. "It's been so long since we had a decent talk."
"Last week, when I told you that my apartment wasn't a safe place."
"And then you let me sleep in your bed. Yeah, good talk."
"It wasn't a good talk." He said and suddenly noise coming from their right side made them stop. "Great, now what?"
"We are going up if anything happens. Head East if there's anyone chasing you. I'll go West. Loose then. Beat them up. I don't care but we will meet outside the manor. Understood?"
"Loud and clear boss."
The noise was coming closer so they ran forward. Then the noise ran towards them too. There was no way to loose them so their plan was to be followed.
"Hey," Dick stop Jason once they were out. Not much time left. "Be careful, ok? I know you can do just fine but be careful."
"Same to you Golden boy."
Dick quickly kissed Jason in the lips. Then they were off.
"That was beautiful!" M'gann spoke happily. The other girls had the same reaction and the boys just stared in confusion.
"That's from a movie. Isn't it?" Tim questioned first, not wanting to believe that Wally just said what he said.
"Of course! Or a book. I don't remember." He answered, making the guys sighed in relief. Even some of the girls did.
"I don't see it. Both Jason and Dick are too proud to run from a fight, but I'll give you a seven out of ten." Raven replied, with the others nodding to her statement which was partially true. Especially from Jason.
"C'mon Rae! Even you know this could've happened...at some point." Garfield stated not truly sure himself.
"Indeed Beast Boy, but she is also right." Kaldur'ahm, Aqualad, affirmed.
"They would not retrieve if it was not an order." Cass mentioned. "It's clear on the battleground."
"Ok ok. My turn!" Kara declared.
The 'original' bat-bros were almost falling asleep on their way home from a special mission. Almost not making it home, especially the younger ones. So the older ones decided to carry them. Once they were in safe zone, with Alfred helping with some wounds from the younger ones. The Justice League was also there, in a special meeting with the Bat.
Neither group was surprise to see the other. It had happened so many times it became a tradition whenever they were over in the batcave.
Dick and Jason stayed back to join the meeting, while Tim and Damian were forced to get some rest. Again, it had happened so many times before no one was really surprise.
"So, the Secret Society is at it again? Gee, don't they ever get tired of losing?" Dick expressed while he typed something on his phone, although he wasn't really paying attention to the screen, they knew he was probably the one who absorbed all the information.
"We are afraid so." Martian replied, as the images of the Secret Society appeared with all their information. Then there was a second of silence before he talked again. "We will be busy dealing with an abnormally on the other side of Earth. Nightwing and Red Hood, you'll recruit the Young Justice and the Teen Titans for the job. We know you and the others are more than capable but we only want you to slow them down until we come back."
"Understood boss." Dick answered, putting his phone aside to concentrate on the new mission that was given to him.
"Any new information or dates will be send to you. Anything important must be send to us instantly. That will be all for now." Marian concluded, given the others a glance to see if they had anything to add.
"Ok. Jason and me will be out. Meta-humans are attacking central Gotham." Dick informed before heading to the exit with Jason behind. "Good night everyone. Don't worry about us too much."
...
"Got the what we wanted?" Dick asked, still looking back at the direction of the manor. Not a good idea when riding a motorbike, but he is the Nightwing. He was more than capable to do that and more.
"Yup. Being a street rat pays off in situations like this." His partner responded, holding a bag over his head. As much as they tried to be responsible on the road, they couldn't do it. "You know we are gonna get in hella trouble when they find out, right?"
"It will be worth the laughs."
...
Now they were off the roads, on top a building. The lights from the city hugged them away from the darkness of the night. Both excited to see the precious thing inside the leather bag. Jason took out Diana's Lasso of Truth, then threw the bag to a side. It glowed in golden magic, fascinating both.
"It's more magestic than I thought...It's just...Wow."
"It's an Amazon weapon. Created and used by Gods." Jason mumbled still holding it before giving it to Dick, who just admired the golden colour. "Who you wanna try it on first?"
"I don't care. We have, we use it. We don't have much time before Wonder Woman finds out."
"We could use it on the meta-humans, since we have to take them out anyways." Jason suggested with a smile on his face, Dick's reaction was priceless for him. He could have swore his partner didn't even noticed.
...
"Ok, so the bad guys escaped and now we are tied up. In the Lasso of Truth. In the middle of the night. We are a mess." Dick sided look at his weapons on the floor next to them. Near those were Jason's guns with empty bullets and fresh smoke coming out of the guns' muzzles. It was quite a hard fight.
"So...hum...Mind finding a way to free ourselves." Jason pleaded clearly uncomfortable by their closeness. Although they were back to back, he knew Dick was so calm about it.
"I could try leaning back and see if I could free my hands." His partner suggested as he inclined his head on Jay's shoulder, giving away his smile. As much as he tried to see Jay, his position wouldn't allow him. "Ok, I need you to stand still while I do this. If you don't, we are gonna fall and that's gonna be really bad for us."
"Yeah, yeah. I know. Hurry up."
Dick pressed himself against Jason's back, leaving just enough space for him to slide his arms in from. When he made it, he could finally let his breath go. Jason relaxed while he sighed, like Dick did. Before he could say anything, Dick was doing the exact same thing again as he tried to untie the knot. But didn't last long before giving up and wailing.
"I can't. Try twisting the rope from your side or something." He finally stated.
Jason couldn't even reach the rope with his fingers so he shrugged his shoulders. His action was enough for Dick to sigh again. Dick giggled.
"Want to ask me some burning question?" He asked and the rope glowed in a bright golden, so he figured out it was doing it's magic.
Jason gulped. He was clearly fighting the need to tell the truth.
"Come on little wing. You know neither of us can lie in this situation." He teased while leaning his head back in Jay's shoulder.
"I hate you. And yes, I do want to ask you something."
"Awww, what is it?"
"Since you been out with many people. And you are currently not dating anyone. What are your types?"
"Man, that's some silly question. However, because you are asking me, I'm gonna tell you." He gave a quit pause before answering. "I don't really have a type but I tend to fall for people who...I tend to fall for people who I have rescued once and vice versa. Yeah, I know, it's weird."
"Why?" Came out quickly out of Jay's mouth.
"Why? Oh, I don't really know. Something to do with trust. If they could save me, I could trust them with my life. If I can save them once, I can do it twice. Three times...I could protect them..." Dick went quiet all of the sudden. Still mumbling nonsense under his breath.
It was quiet.
"Who do you like?" "You."  They both asked and answered at the same time. Their guards were down so they didn't notice until they heard the answer.
"Oh my goodness! You like me? Really? Red Hood likes Nightwing? Oh my gosh!" Dick teased surprised. Then the next thing he did was letting the rope go, freeing them. He basically pulled the Lasso and picked his weapons up, rushing away from Jason. "I'm so telling everyone about this!"
"You...You! You come back here now! Nightwing!" He tried processing what happened before picking his guns up and lifting them. Both guns pointing at a near Nightwing, fingers pressed against the trigger.
"Come on! Let's get moving pretty!" He screamed picking up the leather bag from the beginning, then putting the Lasso in it. "You could try shooting me babe, but that be such a mean thing to do! It's nearly midnight and Bats will be out soon! You coming or not?!"
"That did happened once. The Lasso thing but not with those questions." Duke pointed out, while the bat-fam laughed at that memory.
"Yeah, it was bad." Luke continued. "They were forced to stay away from each other so they wouldn't kill the other one."
"Yeah...I've been there...Not good." Conner rested his head on his hand, half-closing his eyes to Tim who just smiled 'innocently'. "Don't trust them. Especially a guy called Tim who will force you to deal with it."
"Really?" Kara questioned with eyes filled with hope. "What happened?"
Before Conner could answer that question, two familiar voices caught everyone's attention and tried finding were they were coming from.
"Oh! Wow. Why are all of you here? Wait! You guys didn't call me? Oh my gosh. I fell so disappointed." Dick dramatised with a funny look in his face. They all laughed at his reaction. "My friends and my family, together. In the same room. Not fighting...Who are all of you?! Where are my loved ones?! No. Don't tell me. Just...Just leave!"
"Shhh, they are safe." Kate winked at him, holding her finger in her lips telling him to stay quiet.
"Oh my! Jason! They have our family! And friends! And...and..." He pulled Jason's arm, who rolled his eyes as he was pulled towards his boyfriend.
"You guys, I hate all of you." He said, pointing at everyone in the room.
"We love you too Jaybird." Babs winked at him, taking a sip from a coke can.
"Gee, like, excuse me? Pretty girl, he is mine." Dick released Jay's arm before walking up to his ex-girlfriend, almost face to face with her. He just looked at her, quietly. Then he took one of the cans in the table, blowing a kiss to the redhead. "We are going out. See you on patrol. Lots of love!"
"Wait..." Tim called right before Dick and Jason walked out of the living room. When they both turned to see, the younger one made a sign to come closer. "We have a question. And we really want answers."
"Oh...What is it?" The oldest was the only one who looked worried, although Jay didn't looked at the conversation, he was pretty aware of his surroundings.
"This is dumb. They want to know how you and Todd got together." Damian finally talked, looking away from his phone. Jon, who was next to him, lowered his headphones to listen to the conversation.
"Well. It is kind of dumb but I guess, we could..." The oldest glanced at his partner for help as he didn't know what to do or say. They both shrugged not knowing exactly. "I mean, it was really stupid." He tried joking it off, so they will forget about it but he knew they wouldn't let it go.
"We were talking about it." Jon gave a little explanation, while looking at the others who kept their gaze on Dick.
"Well...there's two times, same day." Dick sat on the back of the couch, looking above his head as he tried remembering that day. Jay forced himself to stand next to his partner, with his hands on his hips.
It was early morning when Dick found Jason overlooking Gotham. They didn't talk straight away but soon loosen up and started talking about their day. As much as they tried looking away from each other, there's was always something that drew them to look back.
"Wanna go eat something?" Dick offered with a smile. It was early, too early to be seen by anyone they knew so it was perfect timing.
"You are paying."
...
They fought over the place, but since Dick was too nice, he let Jason choose. At the end they went to a Chinese restaurant, which kindly serve them anything they wanted. They have saved so many places, they don't remember all of them. Despite the time, they got some lunch instead of breakfast.
"This place is nice." Dick whispered, drinking his tea like Jason did. They weren't talking too much, just casual comments and responses. "We should come here more often."
"We?" He was surprised, almost shocked to hear that pronoun.
"Um...Yeah..." He was saved as their food came. He shook his head, attacking his food and this told Jason to not talk about it anymore.
The more time they were together, things lighten up a bit. Dick grabbed the fortune-cookie, breaking it to read the tiny paper folded inside. Soft chuckling came out his mouth, which drew Jason's attention.
"It says 'You should date the person next to you'. So, wanna date? It says on the paper." He declared, leaving the note on the table, eyes locked on Jay's.
"What?"
"Um...Maybe I could win you over with food...Yeah, that could work."
>>>
Since they spend the morning together, Dick managed to get Jason to be with him for the rest of the day. Of course out of their 'work' suits, to change in normal clothes. It didn't take long for them until they visited many places.
"Stay here, okay? I'll just get something for Tim and Damian."
"I'm not five years old anymore, Grayson."
A few minutes later, a lady walked up to Jason with a flirty look on her face. Jason was clearly uncomfortable but tried to play it cool.
"Hey, beautiful."
"Hello?"
"Why are you so lonely? No girl with you?"
"What? Madam, please, I'm waiting for someone."
"Oh, it is a young girl? I could wait with you, make you some company."
"I'm with someone." He mumbled loud enough for her to hear, who looked shocked. "So please, leave me. Or else..."
"Oh! Hey babe!" Dick came rushing with a bag with some sweets inside. He quickly hooked his arms with Jason's, slowly pulling him back. "I'm sorry madam but we need to get going now. Enjoy your evening!"
When they were away, the oldest was laughing quite loudly. The youngest only looked down, still embarrassed about what had just happened back there.
"Sooo, babe?" Dick muttered turning to softly kiss his left cheek, making him blush. No answer came so Dick kept talking. "Are you okay? If you want me to stop...I-I will do it..."
"It's okay." He murmured, half turning to face him. "Thank you...You know, back there...With the women...Arg...You know what I mean..."
"Yeah..." He side-hugged Jay's waist, pulling him closer. "Want to go home? I could take you. Then..."
"Shut up. Just shut up Dick."
"Wow, that's so nice of you." He replied, resting his head on Jay's shoulder. "So, do you want to date me?"
"You guys disgust me!" Damian focused on his phone again, pulling his headphones down covering his ears resuming whatever he was doing before.
The others just laughed it off before turning to see the couple again.
"Yup." Dick stood up before looking at Jason, who just shrugged his shoulders once more. "We are out then. See you around later?" Everybody else agreed with nods, so they both went out.
...
"Are you happy about embarrassing me?" Jason moaned pulling himself away from his partner. The afternoon light bathed them, with just few minutes to the night. Neither talked until the night came.
"I'm sorry..." Dick apologised felling a bit weird. "I just couldn't tell them the real thing...Hum...You know...That day..." He sighed.
Jason looked away.
"Come on Jay. You know neither of us wants to remember that especific day." The oldest stood in the edge of the building, overlooking the city. "Forget it, okay? It's better that way..."
"Yeah...Let's get going Golden boy." They both laughed.
