neighbours/music POV

OK but

You hear music one day. Your neighbour, whom you've never met, is playing it, and it comes through the walls. It's not loud, though. Everything's just very silent in your house. You get hooked to the song, and you play it yourself the next day. The neighbour hears you. They think it must be a coincidence--but every time they play a song you like, you play it back. One night you're playing sad music. They hear you, and they play quiet music, your favourite songs, to cheer you up. There's nothing to hear except the songs and the crickets. The quiet music turns into love songs, and you both sit there listening, feeling things you've never felt before. You make up your mind, and play a song with the lyrics 'meet me at the playground'. Both of you sneak there in the middle of the night, and you see each other for the first time. And you don't know what to say, but they hold their phone up, and on the screen is your favourite song. You tap at your own phone, and hold up their favourite song. Then you both look down, and fiddle with the phones, and hold it up at the same time. A song starts playing in the dark, and it's the song that slowly became your song, you and them, and you both knew it without words. They're smiling but they start to cry because this is everything they've ever wanted, and you walk up to them and wipe away their tears.

Two years later, that song plays at your wedding.

⇴ person a and b are looking at each other when there's that one person that annoys both of them, and then laughing. it's that SHARED LOOK and SHARED CONNECTION that makes person a quickly turn away.

⇴ person a comes out looking amazing, and person b is literally too stunned to speak. person b's hand is on their chest as if they're trying to catch their breath. person b so desperately wants to reach out and say something, until person a grabs person c's hand.

⇴ person a has been attracted to person b since they last met at a short-term location (ex. airport), so much so that all of their friends know about person b and are desperate to find them so they can shut person a up.

⇴ person a and person b both brushing hands on accident, and person a quickly yanks their hand away while person b is still spiraling because of the contact.

⇴ additionally ^ they both say "sorry!" at the same time, and person b is just like "oh my god we just brushed hands and their hands were so soft and i want to do it again poierjbhuefjniubh"

⇴ person b doing anything to make person a laugh. "you are my glorious god and i will kiss the ground you walk on," followed by person a's laugh and SMILE (person b nearly evaporates). "shut up" with a smile and PERSON B IS FOUND DEAD ON THE GROUND.

⇴ "you're adorable" "what?" "nothing."

⇴ person b is telling themselves not to get close to person a. but once they see person a right in front of them, they fold immediately. person b listens to any word person a says, regardless of "needing to avoid them." person a has person b enamoured and doesn't even know it.

⇴ person b and person a both jokingly flirt with each other, except neither of them are joking but both of them think the other person is. (idiots)

⇴ "i can't keep myself away from them. i think they have some magnetic force that pulls me into them" – person a/b. "i think that's called attraction and, call me crazy here, but i think you're in love with them." – person c, who is fed up.

⇴ one night stand between person a and person b, whom were both drunk at the time. person b is in the middle of regretting everything and feeling like SHIT and gently admiring a the morning after because they're aware that nothing will be the same after this and this might even be the last time they will talk.

Background

This is a story about finding redemption. In the 50th anniversary Doctor Who episode "The Day of the Doctor", the 10th (Matt Smith) and 11th Doctor (David Tennant) meet The War Doctor. They are horrified and filled with dread to once again see themselves as the man who committed horrible atrocities wiping out the Time Lords and the Daleks with a doomsday weapon.

But after centuries dealing with that pain. They finally come to grips with it. They accept the decision they made even though it caused the death of billions of people. But even better, they remember Who they are. The Doctor. Never cruel or cowardly. Never give up or give in. Doctors give hope. They are finally able to save the people they thought they lost.

im just saying that if i had been in charge of s6 of doctor who, i would have fully leaned into the horror of amy's pregnancy, the loss of her own agency in it, the way she was used as a vessel to create a child she would never hold again, amy pond who never indicated once that she even wanted a child and was made to have one anyway against her will, and once they were done using her, they even took away any choice she might make about it in the future.

and i would have had this be a factor in amy and river's relationship going forward. how do you interact with a child you never knew, never got to decide if you wanted to have, and she's also already your friend, you love her as this miraculous, insane woman who has saved your life more than once. she's always known more about you than you could about her, but now you know exactly how much she was keeping from you. it's not like she could have told you, could have stopped it, but all this time, she was your friend and she was your daughter, and how do you learn to live with her?

Danny, mid twenties, opted to travel the Ghost Zone for a few years before going to college. He meets a pretty cool Ghost couple, gets involved and makes it a throuple, and travels the Ghost Zone with them.

Their names are Martha and Thomas Wayne, and Danny's kinda head-over-heels for them.

Everything's going great!

They're traveling the Ghost Zone, touring ancient civilizations, Danny's getting taught medical shit from Thomas and management shit from Martha, and they're all having a good time.

Well, until Martha and Thomas feel the pull of getting summoned.

While uh...in a compromising position with Danny.

Danny gets dragged along.

Anyways, that's how Danny, High King of the Infinite Realms, gets introduced to Batman.

Even after his traveling session, when he joins the Justice League full time, the man still hates him.
