Illustration for a personal headcanon I have for post-movie Raph, Mikey, and Donnie, i.e. that all three of them have matching scars on their arms (Mikey on both, Raph on his left, Donnie on his right) from where they opened the portal to rescue Leo from the prison dimension.
Bonus post-movie Leo below the cut:

How was Jasper feeling when he first had to show Alice all his scars?
The answer is kind of complicated because that's one headcanon I've been thinking about changing. Jasper's "Arrival (1 of 2)" one-shot (here) is the only place I've actually written about what happened after the diner. When I wrote that, I wanted their first time to be all mystical. So:
We hadn't even spoken the first two days. We had just walked right through the rain, hand in hand, stealing glances and then outright staring. We walked out of the city and picked up into a run, still hand in hand, until we came to the refuge of the mountains.
There was no declaration, no ceremony, not even conversation; we just stopped running and gave ourselves to each other. When we came to our senses three days later, I told her that my name was Jasper.
She laughed. "I know."
So as the headcanon stands, Jasper was in too much of a daze to think much about the scars. But mystical as it is, this headcanon is also a bit silly and is only a two-paragraph flashback anyway. So I may eventually write a separate one-shot about the rest of Diner Day and change it up. I really like some people's headcanons about how Jasper grew a little ambivalent or even wary when Alice began telling him everything. And while I do like the mystical unwritten romance thing, I also want to explore those first couple of days sometime, which, frankly, would be no fun without dialogue and at least a little conflict.
So I'll answer your question as if I'm going to change the headcanon. In this case I'm not sure how quickly their relationship became sexual; it might have taken a bit more time. Jasper wasn't really concerned about the scars on his face and hands, since Alice had already seen them from the moment of their meeting. (It hadn't occurred to him yet that she'd seen everything, many times, over the years.)
So whether his first time letting her see his arms, his back, etc. was in a moment of intimacy or merely taking off his shirt to wash in a river, he definitely hesitated. Tale of Years Jasper has one very prominent scar across his back, so his mind immediately went to that and to how thickly his arms were covered in scars, and to the ugly gouges along the base of his neck from the times he'd narrowly escaped beheading. Some pieces of skin and muscle had been lost for good.
He had already grown enough faith in to this strange girl to be sure she wouldn't leave him now, but he was dreading the disgust she would certainly feel. Pity would be even worse. Would she pull away? What would she say?
Alice was able to reassure him quickly enough.
"Don't worry," she said lightly. "I've seen them."
She reached up to unbutton his shirt, but after a half-second of staring at nothing, she stopped and took her hands away. Waiting for Jasper to be ready was something she had grown used to. This time she wouldn't have to wait long.
Jasper took a breath, gathered his courage, and undid the buttons himself.

Leo is on a thin line he isn’t sure he can walk on without falling. He never was found of that. Donnie tries to deny what happed with the Technodrome. What happened after too. His mind his not the same yet sublimed by the biotech of those monsters. How can he be so grateful yet so disgusted ? Mikey… Mikey doesn’t where he stands. Mystic powers are cool and all, but… What good are they if they kill you ? April just wishes she could forget that day and Casey… Yeah, Casey is there too. Leonardo is the leader of a team of ghosts. Raphael his holed up in the trash heap he calls a room, and when he’s not busy biting down his throat, he goes with Casey. Michelangelo just ignores them for the most part and listens to music all day or draws. It’s a miracle he isn’t dead yet with all the weird food he ingests without a care. Donatello barely sleeps, eats or drinks. What for, when he has so much to do ? Preferably not with the team, they tend to annoy him too much. Leonardo is training all he can, and tries to satisfy a father that never seems to be. He doesn’t know what to do anymore. Death is walking in their direction, and he is powerless to stop it.
Death is walking indeed. Soon, bounds will be tested, secrets revealed and the future altered.

A list I will probably edit little by little concerning that canon reverse Skeleton Warriors AU
Baron Light, just like Baron Dark who passed as good for years while secretly plotting, was passing as bad while secretly being an active rebel
Also just like how @papabirdurskeks and I HC "Dark" is a fake last name his ancestors took to go incognito after they got kicked out of the throne for being tyrans, "Light" is too they took in order to survive so that the tyranical current royals' ancestors would not kill them
Prince Justin/Darkstar also skeletonizes, he notably skeletonized supporting characters who in the normal continuity are too good to be
Baron Light did not get the dark equivalent of Lightstar's power as we see, Darkstar have it. Grimskull still has his shadow power and Princess Jennifer/Talyn still her flight power. All because Darkstar struggled much more violently than Lightstar and even used a knife to try to stab Baron Light in the face (giving him his scar on the eye) which had the crystal split not in 2 equal halves but a bigger piece for the evil prince
Prince Joshua/Grimskull's evil equivalent became half fleshy half skeleton too because he too was in the middle of Darkstar and Baron Light fighting over the Darkstar Crystal until it split. He uses his mystical connection to the main skeleton for communication. Later, he gets his wolf Darkstar skeletonizes, just like he skeletonizes Talyn's bird
The same way Baron Dark, until becoming crazy, still seemed to care for and was respectful towards his henchmen, so did Darkstar towards his friends and family, as evil as they are the Darkstar family love each other ; and just the same Baron Dark's gang is concerned and upset the more he becomes violent and crazy because of the crystal, Darkstar's uncle and siblings become more and more concerned with his changes
Even if they love each other, they still are evil. So Grimskull and Zara, instead of never interacting despite their feelings because they know she is promised to Lightstar, actively have an adulterous affair behind Darkstar's back, even more easily since once he becomes the supreme leader he brings her to his castle to become his queen with no idea he's been cucked all along. One of the reasons why he snaps in the very end is when he finds out
The royal family is just as racist as how @papabirdurskeks and I headcanon their ancestors and those who act and speak in their name to be in the normam continuity. Hence why they only have human skeletons on their side (I mean animals and pets aside), and regularly call Baron Light's non human allies freaks and don't hide their wish they should be killed off to purge Gloominaire from rejects like them
In that episode with the PTSD-ridden cowardly soldier, the roles are reversed. Shriek's good equivalent who is named Squeal plays normal continuity Talyn's role trying to help him by finding out the little red crystal inside can be destroyed and makes him human again and thinks she can save him and other skeletons, but as cowardly as he is he has no PTSD for HE liked being a skeleton but just wants to be alone without fighting and betrays them and sells them out just so that Darkstar can spare him for being a coward and turn him into a skeleton again. In the end, skeleton again, he runs away for his life knowing Darkstar will ne mad at the failure, with no regret, leaving Squeal who watches him leave with disgust mixed with sadness. She really had hopes
The king died also sent into an Araculean trap by the Baron. Good or not, Baron Light was ready to go through drastic measures for peace. That's actually how he meets Aracula and starts to learn his language and recruits him in both continuities
Baron Light recruited his team of misfits through the years just like Baron Dark did. Dark did it with the intent to have them serve him in his scheme in the long run and just got attached, Baron Light did to protect them and save from them from all these genocidal measures the regime take giving them his noble protection
Squeal and Dr Dagger in that universe too are like children to him, and here Cyborn as well, who never was tsundere about it. Dagger precisely became a doctor because he paid his studies and Cyborn, before losing braincels after the accident, without being a doctor because he never was allowed to study for it because of the racist laws, was still brilliant and made him curious and love that
Because yes in that AU too Baron Light and Cyborn are married, and Baron Light greatly suffers in silence to see such a brilliant man now turned into a shell of his former self because of irreperable brain damage as well as forever greatly crippled. Since he was not a doctor, the explosion here was not due to one of his own inventions backfiring while he was a royal scientist, but one of Ursak's backfiring who essentially used him as a shield. He was a servant, who would miss him ?
Ursark indeed was the one jealous of Cyborn here. Even if Cyborn was legally not allowed to study alongside him he FELT he had a lot of potential and felt threatened. He now has a blast calling him a retard whenever he can which enrages even more his found family
Squeal also crushes on Darkstar, but tries to fight it because she knows how evil he is. He often uses this knowledge to manipulate her
In the normal continuity, Claw, even if he is on the skeletons' side, never cares for them because he is a loner bounty hunter hired only recently who only cares about what he can earn. Here, Claw's good equivalent does help the rebels but same thing, only because he is hired and doesn't particularily like them. However, he also does have a sense of justice he represses deep down, so sometimes he will go help them or other people for free cursing under his breath for being too nice
Yes Baron Light still LOVES animals and still adopts as many as he can such as Good Dog and Noble Steed and EVEN A FUCKING DRAGON. There is a war, he must protecc. Cyborn is too much of a "simpleton" to be brothered, but Dr Dagger is greatly annoyed with his adoptive dad's shit. They can barely save people !
Cyborn's robotic parts are mirrored just like most merch does lol they were Dagger's first invention, as a kid

you don't have to answer this if you don't want to..
but, hypothetically, if one of the characters of the game you are working on, (Conundrum of Morality), ever got popular, who would most likely be a tumblr sexy man/woman/enby?
Well, I am personally aroace and feel NO real aesthetic attraction (unless you count "I like their colorscheme/outfit/hairstyle") NOR do I feel romantic and/or sexual attraction to fictional characters, so I am not the best person to answer, but so judging by patterns alone that I seen with other tumblr sexy people to create general criteria,
The criteria that I've gathered judging by what most tumblr sexy people have in common to make my guess are:
1. Conventionally physically attractive or at least personality wise.
2. Young (usually 20s-30s sometimes 40s) or looks like a young adult (either Immortal, eternally youthful, inhuman, or just aged well)
3. 18+ or, usually when without a confirmed age, seems to be.
4. Either confirmed to be not-aro or nothing saying otherwise.
5. Either are at least, A. human (most commonly being white or just fair skinned), B. Inhuman but still humanoid (robots, furries, vocaloids, ect.) or just act human (ex. Scar from lion king), C. Undead (usually a skeleton or a demon, this also falls under B. But it seems noteworthy enough to deserve its own letter), or D. from an anime/manga or from an Japanese styled game
6. Usually single, either w/o a love interest and/or no canon romantic relationship.
7. A fictional character or famous person (which is redundant in this case)
With these qualifications, I conclude, it would be either be none of them or most likely Shadow Lady.
Reasons:
Abby and Audel are WAY too young for that title (both are 11 y/o, that would just be straight up pedophilic) and them not even really being fictional crush material to begin with, (but I can see them being someone's Autistic and/or ADHD headcanon, plus, Audel is implied to be autistic anyway)
Gunther is WAY too old and definently not conventionally physically attractive, he is also an aroace. (He seems more like a "comfort-type character" or the "memed character who is ADHD" , than a fictional crush, but, again, I'm aroace, so I dunno what allos who are attracted to fictional characters think, I am just judging by patterns and similarities I've noticed.)
Shadow Lady is conventionally attractive (probably) and not a confirmed Aromantic (but is Asexual), also she's not human but still humanoid, which that seems to be common trait in tumblr sexy people (that or being undead, Caucasian and/or Anime). So she seems to fit the criteria, also technically she's an undead.
Mystic is a possible runner up, they are 23, the playable character, canonically pretty buff and strong, HOWEVER they are aroace, part of law enforcement (if you are anti-law enforcement or "defund the police"-type person), I don't know if Mystic is even concidered attractive, them being intersex (more specifically a true hermaphrodite) may be a turn off for people, and most tumblr sexy people seem to be either: A. Inhuman but humanoid (or at least act human), B. white/Caucasian, C. from anime, D. undead, and Mystic fits none of those since Mystic is a biracial human from a non anime styled game, (but again, I don't know how the allos think, so don't get mad at me for saying that. )
But that's just my guess.

Can you do headcanons on SubScorp (Kuai Liang / Hanzo Hasashi) and the evolution of their relationship, please? ♡
Sure, just please keep in mind that rock has a better romantic sense than I ever will. I’m not a shipper in general and SubScorp has a lot to overcome in my mind to even get close as friends but I will do my best! In advance, sorry for the long text and especially opening. My hand slipped but I needed to build the romantic headcanons on something.
Oh, and I kinda threw away the canon timeline here and there and went with how I would write their relationship (and story, I guess) if I was given the chance.
At the beginning, Hanzo and Kuai were bitter enemies and their hate for each other was the exact reason why Quan Chi kept them working together. The revenants were creatures of vivid emotions, twisted and corrupted by Netherrealm fire. So the stronger they hated, the mightier were their unnatural powers. But there was also a more sinister reason: Quan Chi kept them together, day after day, because it amused him to watch how Sub-Zero and Scorpion wanted to hurt each other but always were defenseless against his magic, always blindly obedient. To have two deadliest of enemies as slaves under his power was the best perk of necromancy.
When they were revenants though, Quan Chi’s cruel joke meant nothing. Kuai Liang had no free will, no remorse, only hate and pain to go on. Hanzo could - should - run away, but didn’t. He was broken in thousands of little ways and it was easier to follow orders, to not think than take responsibility for his own choices, to face the utterly devastating feeling of failure. It wasn't a good life - it wasn’t a life at all, but it was all they had.
After so many days turned into weeks turned into months, the constant presence of each other became the punishment and the salvation at once. They hated each other and this hate never truly left them for a moment, never let them feel peace of mind. They hated each other but it was an emotion that bonded them together, grounded in reality, made sense in an otherwise senseless world.
Hanzo and Kuai Liang got used to each other that the presence of mutual disdain was as normal part of their cursed life as breathing for a living person.
But then Quan Chi lost and suddenly they both were brought to life against their will. The first weeks were the worst. They were victims of dark magic, everyone was saying but none of them was a killer responsible for thousands of brutal deaths. Not like Hanzo and Kuai Liang and because of that, the burden of guilt was their alone. A burden they didn’t want to share among themselves, so they sought out different paths to find some solace.
For Hanzo, there was nothing to come back. The home of Shirai Ryu was destroyed, devastated beyond any measure. He still heard clearly Quan Chi’s voice in his head, how he failed his clan, how shamed his wife and child. Hanzo felt dirty and unworthy and utterly lost. The once mighty Scorpion was now a wreck, a directionless nomad.
For Kuai Liang, the home was Lin Kuei but it was taken by cyber monsters without souls. Once he returned to living, those monsters hunted him restlessly. For years he ran and hid and killed and killed and killed and killed until he was ready to face Sektor and reclaim what was once his. An honor and a purpose in life, so he could find Scorpion and kill him for brother’s death. But then he learned dark secrets of the clan and even darker truths that changed everything.
Because of that, Kuai Liang invited Hanzo to Lin Kuei Temple, offered peace and a new start, a way to atone for all crimes and sins they committed arm to arm during war. Above everything else, offered the truth that finally set them both free from their cruel past.
They did not keep in touch then though. They met sporadically, when Raiden asked his Champions to assist in this or that little crisis. To hunt the demons that somehow survived the war, to find oh so rare, mystic artifact or two, or do a quick job in the Outworld. They were assassins after all and Special Forces the heroes who shouldn’t dirty their hands.
During those meetings, Hanzo and Kuai Liang tried to stay as far as possible without making a fuss about it. During missions though there was no one who could safely separate them, and thus save them from painful memories of the past.
It was terrifying to Hanzo how much he missed Sub-Zero’s cold presence at his side, even if the so well known hate for Bi-Han’s death still hid beneath the cryomancer's skin like a furious, wild beast, always present, never forgiving, kept in check only by Lin Kuei’s iron will.
It was terrifying for Kuai Liang how well he still understood Scorpion’s body language even though the ninja tried so desperately to hide scars left by Quan Chi on his soul, all those unsaid horrors he experienced, all the doubts and pain and self-hatred that burned as hot as Netherrealm fire that twisted them both.
But those sporadic joint missions alone weren’t what helped them connect once and forever.
Ironically, it was the guilt that let one understand so well the other, to know when it was a good time for jab and when not to speak - not to see - raw pain that both so hard tried to bury under their respective masks, of cold politeness and hot devotion to the past. Surprisingly, it was also the arrogance of united governments that wanted to use them to expand Earthrealm’s control over wild Outworld yet did not see them as human beings. To be seen as a useful tool but never truly welcome wasn’t anything new for any of them. Kuai Liang and Hanzo were a relic of a dark past that should have died years ago yet were too stubborn to just yield and blindly follow orders even again. This burning desire for independence and search for their lost humanity built a common ground, the bridge between past hate and empathy.
This, and their shared disdain for Johnny’s never ending jokes. In the past, every time the Champions of Earthrealm met in the same place and Cage opened his mouth to talk Hollywood's weirdness, Hanzo got closer and closer to Kuai Liang. There was no word of recognition or permission - one look at each other and they understood perfectly it was either stay strong together and endure this senseless, annoying wave of words or do something regrettable.
And because they already had enough guilt to worry about, Sub-Zero and Scorpion simply stood arm to arm, like they did during war. Somehow that comforting familiarity grew up into something much stronger; not yet friendship but unity anyway. Time did not heal them but the mutual hate faded little by little, day after day until pain was nothing more than bitter ache they simply learned to live with.
Despite everything and everyone, Hanzo and Kuai Liang got to trust each other, to rely on a bond that was once a cruel Quan Chi’s joke.
Sub-Zero was the person that accompanied Hanzo to the Shirai-Ryu clan’s ruins, so he could finally bury dead ones left there forgotten by the world. Hanzo should have done that long ago, he knew, but the claw of fear clung to his heart for years and would not let it. The fear that Hanzo Hasashi never truly existed and he was a fraud, another lie begotten by Netherrealm. That there was no Harumi nor Satoshi and in the end he clinged so desperately to a nightmare that never was true to begin with. A nightmare for which he murdered the wrong person and brought someone else this maddening pain.
Seeing the ruins of home - the once so familiar bodies now just flesh spread out, glistening bones scattered everywhere, ripped and crushed, forgotten - was like dying again. Hanzo broke down and for the first time in a decade allowed himself to cry. Kuai Liang was there by his side, offering no wise words, nor comfort. He simply sat there, back to back with Hanzo, so he could know he wasn’t truly left alone this time yet quietly like a shadow to not disturb his grief. Hanzo would never forget this kindness for the rest of his life. He wouldn’t forget the sacrifice made that day by Sub-Zero to come to mortuary ruins, to bury another clan slaughtered without mercy in the name of madness and spite.
But with pain came also relief, that his memories were truly his and not another sweet lie whispered to his ear by a twisted sorcerer.
(Kuai Liang came here because it was the right thing to do. To pay respect and melt the dark past into a better future in which Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei could be an ally, maybe even brothers in arms. He came for Hanzo, because no one did that for him, when he had countless bodies of comrades to bury after Sektor’s defeat and no one should be forced to do so alone. He came there also for himself, to see and be sure Bi-Han wasn’t part of the heartless crime. The hallmarks of a frontal attack, chaotic destruction and coarse, devoid of surgical precision violence were proof it wasn’t Bi-Han’s work. His brother would never be so sloppy, so random in his attack. He even told so Hanzo, in this moment of relief and social clumsiness and Scorpion just looked at him with the reddened eyes and did not burst in flame of anger, just… accepted the truth and Kuai Liang said no more about it.)
Scorpion was the person that stayed at Kuai Liang’s side when Frost betrayed her master and disappeared without a trace. He never liked the cryomancer girl - she reminded him too much of Sub-Zero who sought him for brother’s death. Young and brash, untamed, always snarling, spitting with venom in their face. But above everything else, Frost’s anger burned too hot like his own and he hated to look at her and to see himself.
Maybe losing such a precious student - an heir - was like losing a child. Hanzo understood this crushing feeling but there were no right words to offer. Even if he knew them, Sub-Zero did not want pity, did not want to talk. All he needed was a space to unleash fury and pain, the excess of emotions too large to bury them in the tomb of a cold heart. And so day after day, night after night, the ice and fire clashed over and over again until all muscles burned and the ache brought finally some peace. Not much, but enough to let Kuai Liang not dwell on his failure and focus on Grandmaster’s duties.
(There was something off about this whole situation but Hanzo couldn’t pick on what exactly. Kuai Liang had secrets he didn’t share, not yet and Hanzo respected his wishes, trusting Lin Kuei’s word. So far, Kuai Liang never had let him down. Scorpion trusted and it was terrifying on its own).
Those were the little steps into a path that brought them closer. It wasn't love for each other then, not even romantic infatuation, but love for the lost one, for family that was once but no longer. They understood this grief too well.
The first time Hanzo felt the pang of love, he and Kuai Liang were debating about the proper course of the upcoming mission. They were sitting in Hanzo’s room, with an open door leading to the Fire Garden. Then, without warning came spring rain and both looked out on instinct. The air was filled with the freshness of trees and flowers coming back to life; a freshness they breathed in greedily to wash out the taste of Netherrealm ash forever.
On that day, everything seemed to be in the right place. Just the two of them, sitting arm to arm delighted by the simplest things in life; a warm rain, nourishing garden, a steaming mug of tea between all of this. There was a peace Hanzo did not feel for ages and the sound of the rain and steady breath of his companion lulled him into half-sleep, half-awareness.
On that day, Hanzo wished to keep this moment forever.
The second time Hanzo felt something toward Kuai Liang, it was on Lin Kuei’s training ground. They spared, like they always did in their free or stressful time, but for whatever reason, Kuai Liang smiled at him, this soft, weirdly cocky smile he rarely shows in company and Hanzo looked at it for a few seconds too long before he understood how fast his heart beat, how warmness filled him - not the Netherrealm fire that burns through his muscles and bones, but warmth that he felt only around his wife and child. He wanted to kiss those lips, to feel its coldness on his own. It was wrong on so many levels and he did what he always does in times of overwhelming emotions he didn’t like. He disappeared into flames and ran the hell away from Sub-Zero’s smile. The burned holes to this day were the proof of his shameful panic.
Where did such obscene thoughts come from, he did not have an idea. But the guilt for having them even for a moment about Kuai Liang - any man, really - was too heavy, too suffocating to face Sub-Zero. So Hanzo avoided him for weeks.
And yet, he came back to Lin Kuei Temple. And again and again and again. Despite the burning shame, he sought out Kuai Liang, because only around him, the Netherrealm’s cursed fire cooled down enough to allow him to breathe.
So he danced, between disgrace and this weird feeling of happiness, of living again. Of seeking out the cryomancer and running away from horrific emotion he didn’t know how to get rid off, how to tame.
(Hanzo loved Harumi with all his heart. How could he love - desire - anyone else? And a man whose brother he unjustly killed?)
Kuai Liang decided to not discuss Scorpion’s emotional swings until Hanzo figured it out for himself what he truly wanted. There was no point to get involved into some sentimental drama if there was no hope for sensible agreement.
The Lin Kuei always desired a new generation of warriors, so sex wasn’t any taboo. Some warriors sought comfort in the arms of strange women and men, some between each other. Sex wasn’t forbidden but the emotions were. To feel loyalty or worse, love, to a fellow warrior instead of trusting the masters was a crime.
Kuai Liang did not feel any sudden pang of love toward Hanzo, nor any desire for physical contact. Romanticism never was part of any cryomancer’s nature. He missed his brother and Smoke, but year after year the pain of loss dulled enough to leave him with nothingness. Kuai Liang knew only this: somehow Scorpion became the only source of warmth that kept his heart from freezing completely.
Kuai Liang didn’t have a proper name for what twirled in his soul - a friendship or a love, how one could tell those apart? He wished his older brother or Smoke was there to tell him it was alright to like - care for - Hanzo, but both were dead and twisted into monsters. It was just him and his fragile, scarred heart to judge what was right and what was not. And hope Bi-Han would forgive him the weakness.
They find the balance that keeps both safe, warming the frozen heart and cooling down the neverending flame of anger. For a decade or so, it worked well.
But then Hanzo killed Quan Chi and ruined the chance to free revenants from sorcerer’s curse. The Champions of Earthrealm never liked Scorpion to begin with, now he was persona non grata. Rightly so. Imprisoned, he awaited their judgment. Scorpion could easily escape but chose not to - he was ready to face the consequences yet there was no court nor punishment. The Grandmaster of Lin Kuei came for him and made it clear to all representatives of the united governments and army that he will with Hanzo at his side, over their dead bodies if need be.
Twenty years was not enough time to forget what they together were capable of in fight. How dangerous and experienced murderers they were. No one dared to stop them when they left military base together.
Kuai Liang did not rely on words to show his feelings. Deeds always spoke more than any pretty speech. He was disappointed yet he still came for Hanzo. He saw Scorpion’s arrogance, egoism, breaking point and still came and that only made Hanzo love him more. For the first time, he did not feel shame or guilt for loving - and being loved - by another man.
Hanzo Hasashi’s choice almost brought destruction to the world yet somehow, this tragedy made them inseparable for good. It wasn’t always easy - they argued, for fun and for real and there were still rare days when it was only wise to stay away from each other. Like the day of Bi-Han’s unjust death and the lost chance to bring Harumi and Satoshi to life. They were beyond the primal hate yet some instincts were too strong to risk destroying what they built for themselves over the years.
Somehow through the years they changed from Sub-Zero and Scorpion to Grandmasters of their respective clans and from those to just Kuai Liang and Hanzo.
Hanzo wasn’t used to being so casually called by name but he liked the change. It was Sub-Zero’s voice, he suspected, that made him feel so attracted. At the same time, he felt honored when Kuai Liang told his birth - forbidden - name. He knew it already, for years, but it was different to know and be told, allowed, to use it freely.
Hanzo’s turbulent relationship with other Champions got worse once his student, Takeda started dating Jaqueline Briggs. The Champions distrusted and disliked him and he didn’t feel any need to reconcile with them. Kuai Liang was disappointed in him for treating the girl coldly but everytime asked why he still bothered to deal with Shirai Ruy Grandmaster, the answer was one and the same - he is my equal. For Hanzo it was the most beautiful and terrifying declaration.
(At the same time, everytime Hanzo heard someone accusing Sub-Zero of being cold, heartless, untouched by trauma, the anger burned him wholly. Who were they to judge, to mock Kuai Liang’s pain that hid so well under polite words and calmness? He did not care what people said about him, but would not stand any mockery against those he respected - loved - so much.)
Then of course another immortal being decided to screw up everything and messed up timelines. The younger, brash and mad version of Scorpion wasn’t something that Hanzo and Kuai Liang actually wanted to see, nor the repeat of Cyber Lin Kuei. Then Hanzo died and woke up, again trapped in Netherrealm. So he ran at the first chance, thinking more about Kuai Liang than about his own fears of burning alive in hell forever. The sight of Sub-Zero in hell should have alarmed him - and it did, for a moment, scare Hanzo that the other man died too which was an unbearable thought. But Kuai Liang was alive and so, so determined to bring him back home. If that wasn’t the loudest, the most tangible declaration of love, what else could it be?
And so, like twenty years ago, they fight side to side, like one body and soul. And destroyed, killed, tore apart demons and hellspawn, everything and everyone that stood in their way to freedom, to safety of Earthrealm’s boundaries. First time in ages, they could unleash their anger at those who hurt them, enslaved, and used. It felt so good, so right to be a storm of vengeful fury that frightened even the mighty Netherrealm. They were alive and together and nothing, no gods, titans or destiny, could stop them.
Kuai Liang and Hanzo did not talk much about their last visit in Netherrealm. What happened there was their and only their moment to relish, incomprehensible for bystanders. It was weird though, to come back to live and face his younger, stubborn self. Kuai Liang did not like this Scorpion much and to be honest, Hanzo did not like this version of himself too. It was Scorpion from the darkest time in their past, when only mutual hate connected them. At the same time, there was something amusing to see himself so awkward and uneasy everytime when Kuai Liang and older Hanzo sat so closely, relaxed and calm, like it was the normalest thing to do. When they acted like halves of the same soul.
Kuai Liang never was keen to show any romantic gestures but sometimes he took Hanzo’s hand to emphasize clearly what they were. Hanzo was always surprised by Sub-Zero’s openness and filled with joy, whereas his younger self was confused as hell. Hanzo suspected he would soon need to talk and explain to his younger self what he and Kuai Liang were to each other. Why they needed each other so much and how loving someone else other than Harumi was not dishonor. After all, love wasn’t sin nor weakness.

IronStrange Headcanons 1.0
I wanted to share a bunchies of my IronStrange Headcanons, because they’re so stuck in my head and I need to get a load off for a ‘lil! 😊There’s an assorted insertion of multimedia lore, because I love and live for everything Marvel. 💕 Particularly the Doctor Strange comics, both new and old.
I hope you like them! 👉👈✨ It’s a wee long, so stowed snugly under the cut.
Stephen is germophobic. It’s a bit unconventional, because he will pick up hell spawn, millennia old magical artifacts, & demonic droppings as he pleases and sweep them up with his bare-ass hands... but the Vishanti Forbid, somebody’s used tissue? A public restroom door handle? There are hells even the Sorcerer Supreme has not the grit nor gall to face.
It’s why he wears his golden gloves— it’s not about concealing the scars on his hands, although he is glad for that as it means he doesn’t have to explain himself to every curious person who notices and asks about them
Speaking of which, he’s grown so tired of answering curiosities regarding his hands that he’s begun answering in tall tales with increasingly ridiculous absurdities as to how he acquired his scarring, just for kicks. The last one involved a mission on the moon with Captain America.
That last one may have spawned an enormous online conspiracy, but that’s a story for another day and not Stephen Strange’s problem.
Tony thinks Stephen’s germaphobia is hilarious and tries his best to hand Stephen as many dirty things as possible, because it’s  just iconic the way he’ll blanch at used socks but not bat an eye at a foul netherworld beast. Actually? Next to Tony’s worn socks, Stephen prefers the monster.
Tony learned about Stephen’s “dietary condition” and asked Wong to teach him to prepare those alien dishes that his frail constitution requires. Wong finds it extremely funny to watch the Tony Stark go green in the face at dicing up some space tentacles, so he obliges him readily.
Stephen thinks it’s sweet, but tells Tony he really doesn’t have to. Really. But this has become a battle between Tony and the space squids, and Tony refuses to back down or be bested on this or any battlefield. So, Tony occasionally preps meals. The dishes he prepares are abysmal and dubious at best, and despite the typical godforsaken contents of Stephen’s meals, Tony’s forays into cooking them prove to Stephen that it indeed “could have tasted worse” as Wong once placatingly told him. He prefers Wong’s cooking, but won’t say, because Tony would be broken.
Stephen hates taking hand-out’s or receiving any kind of gifts from Tony. It’s a sore spot in their relationship, because Tony loves putting his pockets to good use and spoiling those he loves rotten, but since Stephen considers his previous mix ups with materialism and his monetary obsessions to have been the source of most of the misery and anguish in his life, Stephen will not have anything to do with Tony’s money. Really, it’s an incompatibility, and they fight about it a lot because Tony perceives it as Stephen being too stubborn and stuck-up to accept gifts from him. It’s not something they’ve smoothed over; it’s a long-had issue between them.
When Stephen’s in the middle of reading something, he will literally take anything Tony hands to him. This is an experiment that Tony has tested multiple times and confirmed to be true, and experiences a great rush of Schadenfreude in exploiting this to hand him more unwelcome articles (see example: dirty socks and other repulsive, repugnant items)
Tony likes to buy those trashy straight boy décor items, like those metal  signs that say “babes, bikes, beer” and just cross out the feminine article and replace it with a shoddily spray-painted “wizards,” and wait for Stephen to notice it, and profit. Stephen will almost always cross out “wizards” and replace it with “sorcerers,” because he’s worse than most first grade English teachers when it comes to his need for correcting people. And Tony loves him for it, which is why he keeps doing it.
They have prank wars. They are hellish battles unlike any others, and no one will involve themselves, not even those that proclaim themselves the mightiest-- they stand clear of that war path very precariously.
Stephen likes to take the last donut and hide it in ridiculous places. Whenever Tony confronts him about it or swears there was one more donut, Stephen will tell him that he’s losing his mind and that Stephen watched him eat the last one only earlier. He likes watching Tony drive himself mad wondering how he misremembered something. It’s splendid, the way those eyes flash with arithmetic and brood theorizing over donuts.
Tony’s pranks are things like filling bedroom slippers with peanut butter or encasing mystical tomes in jello platters. Stephen has never turned his back on his Hippocratic Oath, no matter the circumstance, but nothing has brought him as close as Tony’s pranks. Nothing.
Stephen is the protective one, and constantly worries about Tony because Tony’s greatest threat is much too close to home-- and too often, that is Tony’s own mind. Stephen knows Tony’s looks when he’s getting bad ideas and is always there to tell him, “Tony, no,” even if it’s only for the right to say “I told you so” in the end, because Tony’s bound to ignore him.
Stephen hates asking for help, but Tony will wait until he does so to give it. He savors it, and treasures it when Mr. Magic finally comes asking him to bail him out once he’s been overloaded. Tony will tell Stephen to just turn to him sooner next time, before things can get bad, but Stephen never learns his lesson. He always has to wait to the last moment, before giving in and asking for help. Tony doesn’t mind, though. He’s endeared to it.
When Tony is really, really ticked at Stephen, he will order a pizza and have it delivered to the Sanctum Sanctorum. One, because the pizza guy is in for a wild night and that’s sure to give Stephen an exasperating time, between making sure he doesn’t get lost in the limbo between the couch and the fridge and digging up a few scrap bucks for the guy’s troubles, and two, because Stephen can’t eat pizza, so it’s a tantalizing mockery.
When Stephen’s mad at Tony, he just won’t talk to him or look at him. What with Tony’s need for attention, the silent treatment is usually enough to do him in and make him forget whatever they were fighting about in favor of begging Stephen just to look at him again and talk to him, please please please. It works like a charm and only takes five minutes tops.
Phew! That’s all I’ve got. It’s my first time sharing these kinds of personal headcanons, it feels a bit like oversharing. I hope you enjoyed them 🥺🙏

Hi! Hope you have time for this one! Rfa+minor trio would they be heros or villans say if they were in some kind of superhero crap and what kind of hero/villan would they be? Sorry weird request hehe
RFA+Minor Trio+Rika and Mc Hero/Villain Headcanon
Hello thank you for the request! Not at all is it weird, the idea's very fresh, I love it! (I needed a break from my cheating fics so here's a mini headcanon!) ^~^ *WARNING: Slight spoiler for Tower Of God and Mystic Messenger (obviously haha)*
☆Yoosung☆
Yoosung would most definitely be a hero, and his hero life is probably a sitcom.
Comedy-wise Yoosung is probably the clumsy kind of hero where he makes cute and silly mistakes.
But at the end of the day, all goes well and the world is once again rescued by the great and mighty Yoosung.
In a more serious theme however, Yoosung is probably one of those protagonists that start out to be really innocent and clueless on the topic of fighting.
Later becoming really skillful with character development after a tragic event triggers a power in him? Lol (Kind of like Bam in Tower of God, anyone read that? Yes? Just me?)
☕️ Jaehee ☕️
A freaken cool hero. An ordinary office assistant for a hella bossy trust fund kid, until... evil arises and hero Baehee to the rescue.
She probably has to make a lot of unconvincing excuses to Jumin in order to go out during work and save the day.
By night, she's probably so fed up with everything. Nothing and nobody will get in her way, all she wants to do is finally get some rest and cuddle in for some Zen DVDs.
But nope, apparently the new villain is in town, she practically has to drag herself out with the most dreadful eyebags under her eyes.
Somebody please give this poor woman a break.
♬ Zen ♬
Freaking sexy villain that steals hearts, literally. But he wouldn't be a total villain, cause, hell-o? He's a sweetheart? He would never harm innocent people?
At first he'd be introduced as the 'bad guy' but you'll later realize it was all a misunderstanding. He was even helping the protagonist behind the scenes and later joins the good team.
Plus, Zen would be one of those handsome villains you just cant hate:
"B-but I have to cheer for the protagonist... bUtt I JUST CANT CAUSE UGH WHY IS THE ANTAGONIST (ZEN) SO H0T?"
Oh and, if you're the protagonist, he'd probably flirt with you.
♛ Jumin ♛
Semi-villain, and probably misunderstood like Zen. Later he would join the 'good team' as well.
You just assume he's a villain because he's the heir of the 'bad guys' company. But he's such a darling.
He would probably be the most powerful and important character in the whole plot. He got that money and bodyguards, people working for him, etc.
People's first thought to assuming Jumin is a villain would be:
"ANOTHER FREAKING HOT VILLAIN?"
👓 Saeyoung 👓
"Defender of Justice, 707 to the rescue!"
He would be such a well written hero, his story will go down in history.
A cheerful and happy go lucky hero with backstory. His character has so much of depth.
Hard to not like this fellow.
You better not mess with Seven or anyone he cares for though, because he's not playing games when you do.
All jokes and cheery, till it becomes serious and he turns into a smoking hot hero.
Cue dramatic transformation scene and he becomes extra sharp and handsome without the glasses.
♧ Jihyun ♧
A villain.
Of course the poor baby had and still has the bestest of intentions.
He only wants to bring everyone the peace and happiness they deserve.
But get too greedy, cause the world doesn't work like that and your actions can reflect to have the opposite effect.
He's lost, and he never meant for it to happen. But things that already happened, happened and scars are bound to be left.
But maybe... someone out there can show him, it's not late to make things right.
🌚 Saeran 🌚
A villain and a puppet, controlled to complete evil deeds.
But for the most part, he would be a character you will feel sympathy towards, because you know those actions aren't his intentions.
He would also be a victim saved by the hero at one point of the story.
Also would join the good team after healing to get revenge on the people that controlled him and help other victims still held captive.
🧸 Vanderwood 🧸
Vanderwood would probably be a villain, cold and distant, that being the only thing he had grown up to.
He sees no more good in the world. People never learn with kind words, which is why he believes the only way is to fight fire with fire.
Until maybe... *poke poke* you show him there's still some love and positivity left in the world?
And it may not be told at first but, secretly, he's a "violent hero" in his own way, because he only punishes people with guilt.
Bonus: Mc and Rika
🔅 Rika 🔅
She would be a villain, no questions, no question marks, she's a villain.
People would have split opinions on her character, some may call her a snake, while some may say she needs a chance of redemption. (Hehe basically Rika's situation)
But like most well written villains, she has a reason and though her actions may never and can never be justified...
With some real love and help, her evil deeds may one day come to a red light.
💖 Mc (You guys) 💖
A saint, an angel, a hero.
I swear Mc's heart is made out of gold, and they're so patient.
And though Mc's heroic story, isn't one of the typical, not all hero's wear a cape.
Mc would help a group of heartbroken fellows, either helping them through a painful past or helping them become a better person.
It might've been stressful and hard at times, but Mc made it through, they played through it, to see the Mysme crew that Mc loves and adore, obtain the happy ending they deserve.

2012/2018 reacting to the differences in their bodies? like tails marking how 2018 are lean builds rather than the average/ muscular builds of 2012? april reacting to the different personalities? reacting to their roles in the family?in case you needed ideas ; love how you right them
This is only part one; Mikey and Raph exams are soon to come! Didn’t want to make it too long and decided to split it. Most of the details included are my own headcanons and ideas, and I was more than happy to indulge in them!! @assanmaharielsreblogs
“Extraordinary...” Donnie had borrowed Donatello’s goggles and was using them to examine his taller counterpart; the lenses extended outward and fed him all sorts of information— Donatello’s species, his mutation— all overwhelming Donnie with the knowledge he craved.
“Pretty cool, huh?” Donatello gave a smug grin. “It gives me enough information to create an analysis almost on the spot— particular weaknesses, known criminal records, blood type— the works. Oh, and it can also detect any mystic metals or energies!”
“Incredible...” Donnie’s eyes flicked between the words that passes a crossed the screen in quick succession. “You’re an Apalone spinifera! One of the largest freshwater turtle species in North America!”
“Ah, yes! But do you know what the name means?” Donatello prompted.
“Oh— well... hm. Let’s see. Apalone comes from the Greek work apalos, meaning soft or tender...”
“Feel.” Donatello held out his arm for examination.
Donnie only stared at it for a few moments before he took the hand in his with a gasp of wonder at the soft, leathery-ness of the skin— almost like a slightly tougher silk. His eyes never left the arm as he continued his talk with a hushed voice.
“Spinifera is of Latin descent... spina refers to a thorn or spine, while ifer means bearing... that means you... you bear a spine... right?”
“Why don’t you check it out?” Donatello turned around.
Donnie’s eyes grew as wide as saucers and, though his hands immediately reached for the armor, he was quick to withdraw them.
“Are you sure?”
“Eh. Why not.” Donatello shrugged. “Just... be careful, alright? I’m really sensitive back there.”
Donnie took a deep breath. When he reached for the armor, his hands were as gentle as he could make them. Slowly undoing the straps in a calculated, repetitive motion. He gripped it firmly as it came loose and placed it on a nearby shelf before turning to see the flat, leathery shell for the first time.
As expected, there was a ridge of spines right down the middle, and the shell itself was littered with old scars and wounds healed years ago.
“Wow...” Donnie didn’t know what else to say as he traced his hand along the skin of the shell, feeling the difference in texture that shifted between regular and scarred tissue. Feeling the surprisingly rough spines under his fingers. “There’s a lot of scarring here...”
“Why do you think I made the armor?” Donatello asked, finally turning around, “I mean— it does look cool, but it’s not just for aesthetic. Why are you staring?”
Donnie broke out of the trance and shook his head. “Sorry! It’s just— you— your—“ he made vague motions to his mouth.
“My teeth?” Donatello asked with narrowed eyes.
“Yes!” Donnie clapped.
Donatello sighed and rolled his eyes, pointing Donnie toward one of the various drawers. “Tongue depressors are in there— knock yourself out.”
Donnie gave a happy squeal and ran to the drawer, sifting through it and pulling out one of the wooden sticks before hurrying back over. Donatello took a seat and crossed his hands over his lap, opening his mouth willingly. Donnie pressed down on the softshells tongue, but after only a few seconds said,
“Have you got any gloves?”
“O’re der.” He pointed, and Donnie followed.
Pulling on the gloves, he returned to his exam and started to prod around Donatello’s mouth, pulling back the lips to get a better look at the fangs within. Powerful, curved teeth with ridges on their backs almost like a sharks.
“Fascinating...” Donnie breathed, feeling the sharpness of the tooth, “Do these affect your diet any?” He withdrew enough to let Donatello respond.
“Yeah uh...” Donatello rubbed his cheek, “I’m technically an omnivore, but I try to avoid raw fruits and vegetables.”
Donnie scrambled for a notebook to start scribbling.
“I can digest them just fine, it’s the chewing that’s the problem; that’s why they created smoothies, it’s so much more simpler! Meat is healthier for me anyway.”
“So— so just like your species in the wild! Your diet is meat!”
“I also have these.” Donatello held out a gloved hand, removing the covering.
Donnie leaned down to get a better look at the hand, giving another squeal of pure delight at its form; webbing connected the fingers, almost making it fin-like in nature. He reached forward to touch it without a second thought, pinching the thin lair of skin to feel the texture.
“Ow!” Donatello pulled away, cradling his hand to his chest. “No touchy! That hurt!”
Donnie gasped. “Sorry! It’s just— I didn’t expect you to actually have webbing! Do your toes have webbing too?”
“Yup.” Donatello confirmed, “they’re a liability when running, but when I get in the water...” he whistled and made a swift motion with his hand.
“Wow! Your mutation is so much cooler than mine! Are the eyebrows part of your mutation too?”
When Donnie tried to reach forward to touch them, Donatello slapped him away. Donnie yelped and pulled his hand back away whimpering like a wounded dog.
“No, they’re drawn on.” Donatello said. “You’ll smudge them.”
“Oh. That makes a lot more sense.”
*****
Leonardo sat confidently in the seat in front of the doppelgänger of his twin; the Donnie already had several exam equipment laid out and ready for use. His curiosity had also seemed to spread to his brothers, who all gathered in the corner waiting expecting for some cool, new discovery about Leonardo.
“I’m gonna take your temperature first.” Donnie stated as he untied Leonardo’s mask and reached for the instrument. He ran it across Leonardo’s forehead and watched the results as it beepers. “Woah... thats low.”
“Well he is a reptile.” Raph pointed out, “isn’t he supposed to be cold?”
“Well— yeah— but a red eared sliders normal body range is about 15 degrees Celsius, his is higher than that; 25 degree. Leo, do you sweat?”
“Yeah.”
“And when you go out in the cold, do you get a puff cloud whenever you breath? Like fog?”
“Duh.” Leonardo huffed.
“Huh.” Donnie backed up for a second, “he’s warm blooded! Just at a much lower temperature than any other warm blood I know of!”
Leonardo laughed and crossed his hands behind his head, leaning back in his seat. “Yay me.”
“Oh— can I?” Donnie reached for Leonardo’s hands.
“I’d be insulted if you didn’t.” He held out his hand willingly for Donnie to remove the glove and examine the webbed fingers.
“Not nearly as expansive as Donatello’s, but still incredible. How does it affect your swimming and running?”
“Well I can swim like a torpedo and run like an angry emu; do i get a cookie?”
Donnie blinked. “Eh, no?”
“Dang it!” Leonardo snapped his fingers, and then pointed at Donnie, “lollipop?”
“No...?”
“Ugh!” Leonardo threw his hands in the air dramatically. “What kinda doctor doesn’t have treats for after! And I’m gonna take a wild guess and say you don’t have stickers either?”
Donnie didn’t know how to answer, so he simply said, “can I take a look at your teeth?”
Leonardo opened his mouth to speak, but before he could say anything Donnie grabbed the stick and shoved it into his mouth, pressing down on the turtles tongue to silence him as the exam started.
“Hmm... your teeth are almost human... but your cuspids are remarkable sharp—again, not as impressive as Donatello’s, but definitely remarkable. And your diet?”
Donnie finally pulled back so Leonardo could speak.
“Yknow, little of this, little of that. Pizza mostly.”
“That’s a given.” Raph commented with a wave of his hand.
“Fruits? Vegetables? Meats?” Donnie went on.
“Uh... yeah? Aren’t all of those on pizza?”
“Well—yeah— but I meant which one are you most comfortable with?”
“Erm. All of them, I guess?”
“So you’re truly omnivorous, then; your teeth kinda gave that away, but it can never hurt to be sure.” Donnie removed his gloves and wandered over to the sink to wash his hands.
“Hey! Uh. Other Donnie?”
“Yeah?” Donnie called back.
“If you’re gonna do all this stuff with Miguel, you’re gonna need some rewards—otherwise he won’t sit still.”
“I’m sure I can manage it.”
“No— you can’t. Trust me— Mikey hates exams.”

Jihyun Kim/V Headcanons
Fun fact. I’m also a simp for Jihyun Kim from Mystic Messenger
Jihyun Kim Headcanons
Tumblr media
Y’all ready for this?
Jihyun Kim is the softest boy around.
You can fucking fight me because this is the hill I will die on.
Jihyun just wants gentle love. He’s a calm and warm presence in his relationships.
After the living hell that was Rika and what he endured for her, and then taking a couple of years to find himself, he needs love.
Not necessarily romantic love.
The love of friends. The love of family. And for Jihyun, friends are his family.
The familiarity of those he cares for bring him a sense of calm inside his heart.
Two years helped him in recovery but the trauma and scars don’t go away that easy.
There’s always this dark cloud looming in his mind trying taint the pure moments he gets to have.
His natural reaction to peer over his shoulder. To watch what he says.
He needs a lot of time for his wounds.
He wants to build a better relationship with Yoosung.
He wants to be with his best friend, Jumin, again.
He wants to get to know Jaehee better. He is also very supportive of her getting out of her current job to find what she wants in life
He wants to go to Zen’s shows more.
He wants to make up everything to Saeyoung and Saeran.
He is ready to spend every day of the rest of his life making up for everything to his friends.
When he finally trusts himself to love again, he loves with all he has.
He has so much love to give to someone and all he wants to do is share it.
They will become his muse. There’s no doubt. Everyone believes this so it’s basically canon.
A peaceful life with his friends and the one he loves. Is that too much to ask?
He’s a man who loves the simple things in life. He doesn’t need everything to be expensive or fancy.
The little things are what make life fun for him.
Cuddling with his beloved on a rainy day.
Making meals together (unless he didn’t get the surgery. then pLEASE don’t let your jihyun try to cook).
Painting them and painting with them.
Reading together or being read to.
Going to Zen’s shows with all his frineds.
Seeing Yoosung graduate from university.
Long, late night talks with Jumin.
Seeing and helping Saeran heal.
Helping Saeyoung find himself, as he has been in the dark for far too long.
Supporting and having lunch at Jaehee’s cafe.
The little things make living worth his while.
Consider supporting me on Ko-Fi!

Lava’s Art Masterpost
Hey, all!  Welcome to my art masterpost!  I have no idea if this is a thing that is done typically for art, but oh well, I like organizing things, so here we are!  What you’ll find here is mostly Dragon Age, with a few non-DA pieces in there, and there’s a range of styles I like to use, depending on my mood.  But a lot of what you’ll see will most likely combine lineart with some other form of coloring/shading.
Feel free to browse at your leisure, and I hope anyone who stumbles upon this enjoys what they find! :D And thank you to anyone who sees this and likes, or reblogs, or even just stops by to peruse a bit!
All that said, away we go!
Digital Portraits:
1. Portrait of Nameless Woman, 2020 - This one is just an experiment with a watercolor brush that I did.  It’s not anatomically perfect, but I enjoyed playing around with shading.
2. Sketch of Aja Amell, 2020 - This one is basically sketch practice with my Amell~  Not really the most expressive pictures, but it’s a start toward drawing her more expressively.  Full disclosure: Aja is one of those OCs of mine that I have had trouble with deciding on a definitive appearance for several pictures, and I really want to work on upping my level of consistency when drawing her.
3. Long-Haired Fenris, 2020 - Exactly what it sounds like; this was for practice drawing Fenris’s features (I love how distinct they are), but with long hair because I am weak for it.  This one was a fun piece to shade, and mixing the stylized lineart that I normally use with a greyscale shading spectrum was really enjoyable.
4. Portrait of Ilorin Lavellan, 2016 - This is an oldie.  Basically practicing expressions, and it is technically a WIP, but I’m still very happy with how the shading turned out, especially because this is actually (aside from the unfinished hair) one of the more minimal pieces I’ve done in terms of lineart  It’s still there, and it still shapes the flow of the picture in some ways, but it also ends up flowing with the shading instead of standing out next to it, which I like.  (Both styles are good, though, and I love seeing other artists try both too.)
5. Old Portrait of Aja Amell, 2016 - Much older picture I did of Aja; she... honestly looks very little like the newer one, I think, and that consistency is something I’m still working on, but this one was the first picture of Aja with that particular hairstyle I drew.  What I like about this picture is how young she looks; it fits with her image as a fresh and sheltered Circle mage who’s only about 20 years old at the time of DAO.
6. Old Portrait of Trilyn, 2016 - They very first piece of art I posted to tumblr~ It’s not exactly how I envision Trilyn anymore, but it was still very fun to draw, and helped me get a feel for drawing him in the future.
Dynamic Movement Pictures/”Moment’s in Time”:
1. Tabris in Arl’s Estate, 2020 - TW: blood.  I am super proud of this one.  My ultimate goal is to draw all of my Warden DAO OCs, and I could not believe I’ve never drawn my Tabris, and so here she is.  This was, in large part, practicing expressions because I absolutely love art that depicts characters in motion, or capturing some kind of expression.
2. Velyn in the Rain, 2017 - This one was actually based on some art that I saw in a Teen Wolf fic!  It was an experiment with a more expressive style (and one of the first pieces I did without lineart left in the finished version) and it was a huge step out of my comfort zone.  But overall, I am extremely happy with how it turned out.
3. Jem Nocking an Arrow, 2016 - And here is the lineart version.  This was entirely an excuse to draw my DAI baby, Jem, and to do a cool archer pose because archers are my fav, and I love characters in motion.
4. Solas Teaching Trilyn Fade Magic, 2016 - This one was a painterly picture that was also (like the Velyn picture) something which I tried to keep lineart out of.  Overall, I am proud of a lot of parts of the pic, but I think I would definitely go back over it and change a few things now if I had the patience.
5. Trilyn Closeup WIP, 2016 - TW: injury, blood, mention of abuse in the author’s note.  A lot of early pictures I have are of my OC, Trilyn, and this is one of my absolute favorites.  His entire upper body is technically in the picture, but I hadn’t finished rendering it yet, so this was what I posted.  And it was an experiment with a cross-hatching style with the pencil tool for some texture, with air brush shading and a blurring tool.  It’s a style I had fun playing around with!
6. Trilyn Blood Ritual, 2016 - TW: blood, injury (the slight cut used to supply the ritual with blood).  This one was definitely a sort of “captured moment” from a backstory I gave Trilyn, and I think what I was really going for was an atmospheric piece that could fit with any potential fic I wanted to write for Trilyn.  And then it ended up being practice for extreme lighting/shading techniques, and drawing the blood and the gross mass of demon ichor (or whatever the heck that is) turned out to be highlights of making the piece for me.
Art + Text:
1. Freedom and Control, 2020 - TW: scars, but very difficult to see.  This one was ambitious for me!  It started originally just as Solas and my Tal-Vashoth OC, Saara, facing each other, because I love the dynamic I’ve built for them in my head, but then it turned into an attempt at a tarot-esque background, and just sorta grew from there... Overall, I’m happy with how it turned out, especially with how Solas and Saara themselves turned out.  The version you can actually see a larger view is here.
2. Marianna and Delia Codex and Art, Pt. 1, 2020 - I love writing my own codex entries, first off, and I love combining art with text to create a (hopefully) seamless work.  This work was an attempt to flesh out these OCs of mine with both art (because unique facial structures are hard for me to get down, but so important regardless) and text (because writing~).  I think it turned out well overall, but there are elements of the portraits that I might at some point touch up a bit.
3. Marianna and Delia Codex and Art, Pt. 2, 2020 - Part 2, with what I refer to as a “DAI Outfit Change” because I have always loved seeing fans show their own OCs as they look in DAO, DA2, and then finally DAI.  So I absolutely wanted to jump on that bandwagon myself.  The skin tones are a little off (and I’m sorry about that!) because I was playing with the watercolor brush at that point, and it dilutes the colors I use.  Still working to figure that out, but I was very happy with the overall lineart and structures of the faces.
4. Alistair/Aja Amell Picture with a Blurb, 2017 - Ooooold, old, old, old, OLD!  I still love the art, and I’m soooo happy with how the interaction between Alistair and Aja turned out (drawing kisses is extremely difficult for me; I always end up creating a distorted weird lip-creature, instead of realistically puckered lips...).  I’m not as happy with the blurb that went with it?  At that point, I was still very much figuring out my own DAO worldstate, and the characterization for everyone, so, eh.  Take it with a grain of salt!
Unfinished Costume Designs:
1. Ancient Elvhen Armor with Dwarven Influence, 2018 - People who do costume design work are amazing and mystical beings, and I wish I could do what they do.  This was an attempt at merging the Keeper robes from DAI with a more dwarven armor aesthetic, solely because I created an ancient elvhen character, Ceda, who was taken in by the Cad’halash dwarves mentioned in the Witch Hunt dlc, and I wanted this character to have a mix of the elven style of armor and the dwarven style.  I’m overall decently happy with it, but there’s still that persistent level of self-criticism present.
2. Herald of Andraste Outfit WIP, 2016 - This was a very old picture, not one I showed around a lot, but the idea for this was entirely born of my intense interest in how fashion and outfit designs could be used to create a symbolic image for the Herald of Andraste.  In general, I love the combination of ceremonial armor with long and flowing cloth, so that was what I went for here.  I’m still actually very proud of how this came out, and headcanon something similar for my Herald in my canon DAI worldstate.
Pencil Sketches:
1. Quick Saara Sketch, 2019 - TW: saarebas mouth scars.  Exactly what it says; very quick sketch of Saara I did in a small notebook I carry around with me.  This was basically a test for myself to see if I could manage to draw Saara with the features and facial structure I envisioned for her without needing to use a lot of references.
2. Mass Effect Character Sketch; Jesse, 2018 - Similar reason for drawing this one as the above Saara sketch!  With these characters, I love sometimes the way they can turn out with the specific character creator used for them, and when I draw them, I enjoy trying to create a definitive look for them using what I get from the CC, and my own knowledge of Hooman Faces.
3. Saara Sketch, 2017 - TW: saarebas mouth scars.  A more detailed sketch of Saara than the one above, and one I definitely put more time into overall.  It’s currently the profile picture I’m using for ao3, and is the definitive go-to reference picture I use whenever imagining Saara in a fic, or for other Saara pics I make.  I am extremely proud of this picture, and feel like I should work in graphite more often.  It’s such fun, and the texture is so nice to look at.
4. Sketch of Nameless Alamarri Woman, 2017 - This was a sketch I did of what I envisioned some Alamarri tribes to look like; I used artistic depictions of Gaul tribes and hairstyles for inspiration, and have used this as a go-to reference for my version of Alamarri tribes.  Nothing super notable about this one, but I really liked the way the shape of her face turned out.
Events and Gifts:
1. Another Scar, 2020 - TW: blood, injuries, gore.  The most recent piece of art on the list, and a gift for @cartadwarfwithaheartofgold; featuring sisterly love between Rica and fem!Brosca, which was her requested prompt.  This was a tough piece for me because of the difficulty with the lighting I dealt with.  For some reason, that one particular element of it gave me so much trouble.  Overall, I’m very happy with how it turned out, though, especially the skin tones of the sisters; Brosca I always sort of like as having this greyish, more gaunt look to her, while Rica I like seeing with a darker, richer, and warmer tone to her.
2. A Very Cousland Christmas!, 2019 - This was for a holiday exchange for a server, and I drew a friend’s Cousland (Elissa, the girl on the left) with my Cousland (Gazza, the girl on the right).  I love kid-fic, and I love kid-art, and so I decided... baby Cousland art!  Drawing kid proportions was the toughest part, I recall, and I thiiiink it turned out well, and I’m still quite proud of it overall.  Elissa’s design came entirely from my friend, but I added the holly~
3. Exchange Gift with Dis Brosca and Mabari, 2018 - This was an exchange gift for @fanfoolishness, using her lovely Dis Brosca, and was my first real attempt at backgrounds... I struggled with the coherence of the foreground and background a bit, but I’m still very proud of how it turned out, especially with the colors I had to work with.  What I also really enjoyed working with was the lighting and the expression on Dis’s face.  Backlit subjects are always fun to play around with!
4. Inktober Picture, “Deep”, 2017 - TW: scars, injury, mentions of abuse in the author’s note/attached dialogue snippets.  This was for an Inktober prompt (the only one I’ve ever done, sadly... because I am bad with deadlines...), and again features Trilyn.  Trilyn’s backstory has him a former slave in Tevinter, and a lot of the early works I do for him are sort of deep-dives into his life there.  It’s all meant to be an exploration of the things he endures, and then those moments when he overcomes it all and takes back his own autonomy and self.  This art is definitely provocative, and I can understand if not everyone likes it, but to me, I just wanted to show just what he faces (without glorifying it) before showing the moment of his own triumph.
5. Christmas Holiday Picture with my Brosca and a Friend’s Amell, 2017 - This was a piece of art drawn first by a friend of mine, @nanahuatli~  She drew the Amell, the background, the mistletoe, etc.  All I did was add my Brosca to the mix to finish the image.  It was a lot of fun to do, 1) because it was fun trying to match her style so that the picture looked cohesive, 2) because I love doing collabs with friends, and 3) because it was just such a fun thing to imagine my surly short Brosca, looking at this weird plant/fungus/thing dangling over some puckering human!  It was an absolute joy to do this collab with her!
6. OC Kiss Week Pic of Jem and Saara, 2017 - TW: saarebas mouth scars.  A spur-of-the-moment thing meant to demonstrate just what kind of dynamic my OC, Jem, has with my other OC, Saara (both of whom are members of Leliana’s network in DAI).  This was a very quick picture (deadlines...) and was mostly just to have fun drawing these two characters interacting, and to see if I could make them look like themselves.  I think I did a decent job with it overall, especially with Jem’s kissy-face!  (Again... drawing kisses are the bane of my existence, although hands and feet take a close second.)

Merman!Shoto X Witch!Reader BNHA AU
•Short Story & HeadCanons*
From its surface, the water ebbs ever so slowly and you watch as Shoto's head gently started to appear from its depth. His split coloured hair wet and sticking to his forehead almost too gracefully. The scar on his eye clearly visible from the moment he caught your eyes.
Standing on the rocky stones of the bay,you watch with star-gazing eyes as the silent Merman pull himself up on one of the surface rocks flat enough to support him. He kept his steady eyes on you, waiting for you to come closer. After a while of admiring the crimson glisten of his slick tail, and the glaring effect his scales had from the morning sun, you did and with great strides too. Proud even.
Being born a witch, your mother took care to how you kept it from others. In these dark times, admitting that one has powers and was aware of the mystic side of the world only caused trouble. So it was always "Hide it away and don't act out of place", your mother's voice rings clear in your head but you could never went away from all the things that gave you even the smallest of freedom, even if they were as conspicuous as Mermen.
"You came again" He said simply, his voice silvery and smooth when it reached your ears. You smiled, brows arched.
"I said I would didn't I?"
Shoto hummed a response and watched you still when you took the rock near by as a makeshift sit. You had met the quiet Merman only a week ago, by accident of course. Your mother gave you the leisure time to have your own space each time you finished helping her with the family business of selling dried fish and simply things for crafting. You were grateful for it if not relieved and it let you roam around to explore as much as you want, like how you'd gotten to the bay and almost drowned because apparently you couldn't cast spells underwater.
"Isn't your mother going to be angry at you?" He asked after a while, his two-coloured eyes watching you again as if you were some kind of creature he wasn't used to seeing.
"My mother is always angry and besides,it's not every day I get to meet a special little fish"
"I'm not a fish" Shoto corrected with his brows furrowed and lips light curled down, "Or small either"
The rest of the day, you spend it by asking him question after question, about his life underwater and how it's like to be a Merman and he answers patiently and thoughtful. Adding details you've never heard from anyone about his kind and telling simple stories of his daily life. It wasn't much, seeing how reserved he was but being able to talk to him and gain new knowledge was far better than staying cooped up in your own home.
  - Gradually once he gets more comfortable with you, he starts asking more personal things. Not in a creepy way, rather with a genuine and child-like curiosity.
  - He likes to touch you when he has the chance, it's nothing sexual. Merfolk use the webbing on their hands to get familiarise with a surrounding other than underwater, so he uses it to know how you feel and to if how you react to certain things
  - He's starting to like you so it's natural to get to know you better,in his way, it was by touching you. Your hand, wrist and sometimes he'd ask permission to touch your legs too
  - Despite the blush on your cheeks, Shoto didn't really see it as a sexual way
  - He enjoys circling around you in a gentle pattern whenever you decided to take a quick swim and sometimes he tells you tips on how to stay down under a bit longer
  - Once you casted a spell that lets you breath underwater for 10 seconds and the look on his face was priceless
  - Mismatched colour eyes wide with astonishment and his pretty lips slightly opened
  - You giggled and said his name before the spell wore off and you went up for air
  - Likes watching you practice your water spells, especially the cute trick of catching small fishes in a water bubble
  - Shoto is also very curious as to why you live so far away from other humans, your home is beyond outskirts and you always tell him how tiring it is to travel back and forth to the village just to get enough supplies at home
  - When you do tell him, for a brief second you see his eyes sharpen before the mellow back to their usual stillness. You make a joke and try to reassure him that you're fine with being out casted and seen as an abomination because really as long as you don't get in big trouble with those people, you were guaranteed a long and quiet life
  - Shoto nods and makes a mental note to himself.
  - "Don't cause her any trouble"
  - Shortly after knowing your story, Shoto asks if he could share his and surprised, you tell him it was okay if he didn't feel ready to
  - "I want to tell you"
  - You gave him all the attention your mother wished she'd give her as you quietly heard him tell you about his people, your arms hugging your legs close to your body as he tells you how many of his kind were killed and slaughtered by villagers when they first started surfacing near human borders. Hunted for their scales and strong tails.
  - "It's why we don't like showing ourselves to people anymore. It's safer that way." He says this softly and without any prejudice towards you but you apologize anyway and it earns a frown from Shoto.
  - He doesn't feel strongly about you apologizing for a deed you didn't do, and maybe because he secretly had a soft spot for you and the way sadness clouded your features made him feel guilty about ever sharing the old tale
  - You ask if he lost anyone close to him during those times and for the longest moment,Shoto stays quiet before he lifts his gaze to meet yours and you caught the sorrow in the depths of his eyes.
  - "My mother". He says simply and you feel tears welling up but wipe them away before he notices.
  - "I'm sorry,Shoto.."
  - "Like I said, you weren't one of those people who—"
  - "No, I meant...for your loss. We fight a lot but I don't know what I would do if my mother was killed...because of what we are.."
  - Your words hit him, like a gentle tap of realization.
  - Yes,you were human despite being a witch but even in your own species you were ousted away from the society, you were an outsider, and all because you were different.
  - You understood his pain. And he respected you for that.
  - Oh, and he falls deeper for you too.
  - Time passes on and you realize how open he was now with you, offering you to hold onto his tail whenever the two of you went swimming in the waters, asking even more personal questions and greeting you each time you come and go
  - The best part was that he smiled more, and he had the most beautiful smile ever. Even the sun couldn't compare to how bright it was despite it being soft and small. It was contagious too, when he smiled you couldn't help but follow in suit
  - Physical touch is a thing now between the two of you, and even when you still get flustered at how openly touchy he was, Shoto didn't seem to mind you being that way with him
  - He let's you touch and examine his scales and even his tail, when you find yourself almost losing momentum to not drown in water and grab his arm or body he doesn't even blush
  - You didn't complain on that part of course, his skin was so smooth and soft against yours. It was like a dream to be able to get this close to one of his kind and especially one that was so reserved like Shoto
  - You like it when you can see little ripples of water on the it's surface whenever you came down to the bay, because it meant he was waiting for you underneath it, but you were also worried about others realising it and decided to enchant something that could help
  - "___,why are you giving me a seashell? I have a lot of them down here" Shoto asked you shortly after you handed him the cute gift you made for him and got slightly hurt by how blunt he sounded, you knew he didn't mean to sound rude but still, you pushed the thought aside and shook your head.
  - You grabbed his hand holding the shell in your own and looked up at him seriously.
  - "It's not a normal shell, I enchanted it so it can become like a media for the two of us",you smiled and took out your own shell as Shoto brought his closer for an inspection
  - "A media?"
  - "Yes, I want you to stop waiting for me so near to the bay,not many people come by here but still it's dangerous for you if people found out. So this shell here—" You gave a playful poke on his shell, "Will let you see if I'm near by  and if it's safe enough to come up. Here I'll show you"
  - Shoto listened, to every word and every detail you gave him with the utmost attention. His eyes trailed to your face once in a while when you talked because he couldn't get over the fact at how beautiful,no, that's not right, you were always beautiful to begin with...No,he couldn't believe how such a beautiful being like you had taken the time and effort to craft something for his sake. How caring and loving he saw this gesture of yours was.
  - Although he was very quiet about it, what you did for him touched his heart. He'd never forget it.
  - It was a fairly easy item to use as well, all he needed to do was stay under and in a good distance, and wait for the shell to start changing colours. If it turned red immediately,it meant she was both not there yet and it wasn't safe for him to surface. But, if the shell turned yellow and went back to white, it meant she was near and it was okay to peer up and check for her.
  - Shoto kept the shell inside the bag of seaweed tied to his waist, and whenever he missed or thought about you, he'd take it out and picture your face being reflected in it.
  - He didn't know if he was truly in love but he knew that he cared deeply for you and that he wanted to spend as much time with you as he could, wanted to show you how he appreciates you but you weren't accustomed to the ways of Merfolk and so when he started giving you small trinkets from the sea and gave you fish that he hunted on his own, you were grateful and thought he was being a good friend, oblivious to the fact that he was showing signs of wanting to court you that he maybe even loves you and would be the happiest merman ever if you agreed to he his mate
  - Really, he seemed calm and collected but with these newfound feelings he has, he didn't exactly knew how to express it.
  - He knew that you also showed signs of being interested in him, the way you stole glances from when you though he wasn't looking and the way you blush whenever you see him, and of course the display of affection you show him at times
  - Knocking your forehead together with his after pretending to drown, cupping his face in both your hands, playing with the scales on his arms and tail.
  - If what he felt for you wasn't love, he didn't know what else it could be ... But did you feel as strongly?
  - When the day ended during a warm Saturday, Shoto admired your beauty once more as you dried yourself from your session of wadding your arms in the water and splashing at him, silently adored how your skin glistened under the sun as if you too had scales. Funnily enough, you resembled the females in his kind quite well, strong-headed but playful and intelligent, and yet with all those females' beauty combined, you still stood out.
  - You were like the sea itself, vast and with countless layers waiting to be discovered.
  - Being with you made him feel at peace, wholesome.
  - Truly, there wasn't anywhere else he would rather be.
  - "See you later tomorrow,Shoto!" You said with a smile and giggle, slipping on your shoes before pushing your wet hair back from your forehead. "You'll wait for me like always, right? Use the shell." .
  - Shoto smiled, soft and loving. "For you, always".

— Joseph —
Proceeding chronologically by descending age, we next have Joseph, the middle child of the lot. It can be interpreted that he mirrors his own trauma with the Voice being Utterly Unhelpful over the course of his entire life aside from telling him about the Collapse and such. He shows up in one of each of the Heralds’ individual series of scenes, primarily to address the Deputy to tell them about their supposed choice/sacrifice/gift/etc laid before them, watching but not helping to stop the suffering of the unwilling prisoners as Hudson mentions when you first find her in the bunker after defeating John. A transcription of Hudson’s relevant dialogue during The Quality of Mercy mission to get her and other prisoners out of the bunker post-John-boss-fight:
“All...all because of him! Him. That fucking...fucking piece of shit!” [throws the picture of Joseph on the ground, shattering the glass in the frame. Crouching over it, continues,] “He would come down here and he would just stand there...and watch. We were begging for mercy and he would just...fucking...watch.” [trails off into despairing laughter.] Joseph, just watching Hudson and others be tortured and tormented, instead of stepping in to help. In the idea consideration of the Seeds all inflicting similar suffering upon the unwilling victims, this would potentially parallel the scene where Joseph heard the Voice later on in life while being mugged—and further beaten up for not having any money on him. While being mugged he grew angry at the Voice, blaming it for all his troubles. Then the Voice spoke to him again, and Joseph had his revelation, the clarity of “purpose” that came from the vision of the Collapse, and what ultimately led him to becoming the Father. In the blaming of the Voice for everything that’s gone wrong in his own life, Joseph could be mirroring that perceived chain of responsibility with permitting the Heralds to take some people and kill others, mirroring the death of his wife. Mirroring the perception that all is according to what Joseph perceives as God’s plan, and thus those the Project takes are meant to live, per their own creed, and by “divinely” granted right to decide, as granted by Joseph from the Voice, and granted to the Heralds by Joseph. As Joseph said in the second scene with Jacob, “The Lord gives...and the Lord takes.” So too could that parallel in meaning with the Project (the Father) gives, and the Project (and so too the Father) takes. His darkest action in his backstory might also be echoed in how he permits the Project members to murder and torment the various people of Hope County in an echo of Joseph’s perception of the seeming randomness still attributed to “a divine plan” that ends some lives and spares others. His permitting of the atrocities against the civilians of the county feeds very well into the other Seeds’ behaviors, and that of their followers in allowing them to behave in a chaotic but in his eyes purposeful way. Perhaps Joseph’s line about “returning to the angels we once were,” includes a great deal of darkness, destruction and violence in the nature of angels in his vision of his utopic garden. Perhaps it is relabeling the grotesque actions of the Project as just and right because of divine mandate, the way the Judge is broken and brainwashed to believe come the time of Far Cry New Dawn. Transcribed from A Scribbled Note found in the bunker while seeking Joseph’s book in FCND: You know. You know best. God tells you. If I listen to you, it’s good, and right, and I can help, and I can save people, and make it right, and everything will be okay. If I judge as your judge the judgement is right and just, the judgement is God’s Word. I see now. I am so sorry. Please give me a mask I am afraid. No one can know me. Please let me be reborn like the world, cleansed of all sin and new, and I will fight to cleanse the sin. Thank you Joseph thank you Father. But as we see in the end, and in meeting Joseph for the first time in the flesh in FCND as the Captain, Joseph admits to being wrong. In the end he crumbles as his belief in all of the suffering being worthwhile and for a greater purpose is brought to ruin with the betrayal from his own blood, and the burning of New Eden. He had gone so far to try to be right, that to be wrong was his undoing because it meant he had done evil for no reason other than a misleading belief of his, whether or not the Voice spoke to him at all. Leaving him alive to scream at the unresponsive Voice once more brings him full circle, emphasizing his initial traumatic theme, among other possible themes such as the fate of Cain for kin slaying to wander the earth thereafter, marked so that no one can harm him both for slaying his brother Abel, and for not asking God for forgiveness or seeking absolution for his sins—in Joseph’s case, not asking for God to forgive him due to the cardinal sin of believing himself to be beyond forgiveness. Sparing him is in a way a final slap in the face for Joseph thematically speaking by emphasizing that he is wrong about what justice is, his interpretation of “God’s word,” and more or less everything he’s believed up to that point. (No shade thrown at anyone who shoots him though, the game presents you with a choice and it’s valid to pick either one.)
— John —
So thematically speaking, both John and Faith I would posit are more straight forward in their parallels within this particular discussion compared to the two elder Seed brothers. As he narrates to us the viewers, the Deputy, and Hudson during the Confession scene, John’s method is drawn directly from the torture and torment that his adopted parents the Duncans inflicted upon him when he was young. From their fixation on seeking out sin in a young John, we get the Confession John demands of his followers. The torment and pain that goes into that is once again John inflicting the pain he went through to get people to the same moment of clarity his siblings all achieved through suffering. “I wasn’t scared, I was...clear.” As John puts it in the Confession scene. All of the Seeds could be said to be trying to impart that moment of “understanding” their point of view thusly. John’s probably the most openly and morbidly enthusiastic about the matter, speaking about it most directly out of the four.
This would tie in nicely with the “we love you and we will take you” and the “In the end you will thank us” slogans and graffiti we see here and there, including in John’s bunker. Both are very aggressive and unhealthy potential echoes of the Duncans adopting John and “teaching him the power of Yes” (ie beating the tar out of him and not giving him the option to say “no” with said option being respected.) The flaying may have come about as an evolution from self flagellation/whipping/flogging in order to earn the Duncans’ approval—which also potentially feeds into the possibility of John having some scars on his back and perhaps other locations on his body, such as the shoulders. After the Duncans died (through either natural or unnatural means depending on your headcanon), John either started or was already living a rock n’ roll lifestyle. Further speculation of themes and underlying motivations for John could include the following: Was he ashamed of his scars, as part of his self-loathing that’s mentioned in the Book of Joseph? Perhaps part of the rock and roll life style was that if he and his partner(s) were all high, maybe no one would notice or comment on them. It would also feed into living the lie of being “John Duncan” as John and Joseph may have seen it. Perhaps he was ashamed that his skin bore such obvious marks of his suffering, inflicted by his own hand and by the Duncans in one way or another. Perhaps transcending that shame is part of his whole “courage” trip. Perhaps that’s why he likes to scar and flay others, so that he’s not the only one with the marks. Maybe it makes him feel more “normal” by inflicting his version of normalcy on others to make it a more widespread experience—though that can be said of all the Seed family. For John in particular though, Sloth could be said to be his original sin in the sense of spiritual abandonment of self-cultivation, healing from his trauma, etc in running from his self-hatred and how his past overshadows his present day reality into the foreseeable future, but perhaps Joseph meant a different one rather than Sloth when he spoke to John at the Baptism scene. Perhaps it is Envy. Envy of the people who have not yet truly, deeply suffered through his idea of torment for their “actual” sins as he perceives sin. Envy of the people who won’t know the suffering and torment he endured for false sins—the ones who don’t “understand.” Envy of the people who don’t “care” about these matters that have shaped his entire world view and life whether he wanted them to or not—echoed in how he also inflicts them on people, willingly or not. That could feed into Wrath by inflicting harm on others, too, for added sinning-points. But that could feed right back into his supposed original sin of Sloth in the spiritual sense, since it could be said he’s seeking to change the world in a harmful fashion instead of seeking how to induce positive change in his own attitude from within. Which really just makes Joseph seem like he’s giving cryptic mystic-on-a-mountain-stereotype advice of “don’t take the dark path young padawan” instead of reining John’s activities in and actually telling John how to fix it...which mirrors Joseph’s relationship with the Voice again, and how the Voice effectively does not seem to offer moral guidance when Joseph goes full ham with the cult’s actions, pre-Reaping, during the Reaping, and after. Then we have Joseph’s recorded phone message to John, left at the Seed Ranch outpost: “After all the atonements, all the confessions, all that you’ve done for me and Eden’s Gate, it’s not enough, is it John? Cast away your past. You need to open up your heart. You need to see that there is more love all around you. All the pain and suffering you spread will not help us in the long run. These actions will only feed the sin inside you. It will grow stronger,  it will convince you to do wicked things. Those you scar too deeply, they will heal. They will become the carriers of your sin. They will spread that sin to others. I’ve seen your death in a vision. You are destined to be slayed by your own sin. It will come back around in a new form. It’s only a matter of when. I’ve seen you die young. I’ve seen you die old. The difference between the two outcomes is how much love you let into your heart. I want to see you become an old man in the paradise we prepared for. I love you brother. I love you.” One other thing Joseph points out in his phone message he sent to John is “Those you scar too deeply, they will heal. They will become carriers of your sin,” which very much echoes John becoming the abuser, as the Duncans were to him. Most ironically would be that Joseph’s lines are also applicable to Joseph’s own self with this possible interpretation of thematic motive and choices, among other interpretations. This also is likely sending mixed messages despite Joseph’s words being more positively-tagged in the words of brotherly love and all that, if Joseph’s idea of morality is skewed via labeling as stated above. I personally find this message and Joseph’s...inaction as the cult leader to be very conflicting. On the one hand, it sounds like a clear acknowledgement that Joseph is aware that morally, John’s actions are fucked up, dark, and bad objectively. This would easily be extended to Joseph also understanding that all of the dark things the Heralds do are indeed dark and fucked up, since he is arguably very aware of what all the Heralds are up to. So if he knows, why does he do nothing to stop or to guide the Project and its Heralds onto a better path? It could be a messy nuance that he knows it is wrong, but doesn’t know how to do better as of yet in the actual mechanics of the situation while still achieving their goals. Not having a better answer, as it were, despite knowing logically there must be a better way. But conflicting as it may be, it does fit if Joseph is perhaps unconsciously choosing to act as “the Voice” metaphorically (and literally) to the Heralds and his followers. Basically, “you’re doing it wrong, go do it right” without really giving clear orders tailored-to-the-individual’s-psychology as to how, so as to get them to successfully want and start moving past their trauma. They have all internalized and recreated their past suffering, so...Joseph telling John to cast away his past is both hypocritical and ultimately unhelpfully vague in this interpretation of them. Another potential additional theme for John is that his actions may tie back to his past as an addict—presuming he’s largely off of all the more heavy hitting addictive substances and has curtailed the obvious overindulgence-behaviors (but may still drink in more restrained fashion, iirc I think he had alcohol in the form of whiskey at the Seed Ranch? Weed isn’t being counted in this case,) it might be that underneath it all he’s still got those base patterns of high-chasing from his addictions but in a new form. Another possible option that Joseph is referring to as John’s sin is rather his continued addiction behaviors, via the “it’s not enough, is it John?” noted earlier in the phone call message. That line from Joseph could be interpreted as noting how chasing highs can be an essentially endless pursuit with no real clear ending, where there’s no such thing as enough. This would fall neatly into Sloth within the theme John has for classifying people’s sins. In this case, it could be the new addiction to getting people to say Yes. An addiction to the thrill of victory, of learning things about others that no one else knows about—a power trip. The sheer exhilaration John has with getting that Yes from Nick, and flaying the man? The way he needs a moment to clean up and catch his breath before moving on to the Deputy’s Atonement (it’s also great pacing for the scene imo.) The way John says Wrath is the Deputy’s sin? Maybe Wrath for John is one of the most addicting highs of the sins, anger and violence fueled by the adrenaline rush and power over others’ lives, to end them as the Deputy so chooses. As John says shortly after the Deputy escaping the bunker in the Confession sequence, "Your sin consumes you. Blinds you to all the harm you inflict. It allows you to dispense of human life so easily. Have you ever given so much as a second thought to killing?” Combining that with John‘s earlier comment during the Confession:  “But it was Joseph who showed me just how selfish I was being. Always receiving. Always taking. The best gift isn’t the one you get, it’s the one you give, and giving takes courage. The courage to own your sin. To etch it on to your flesh and carry its burden and when you have endured—when you have truly begun to atone—to cut it out like a cancer and display it for all to see. My God that’s courage.” It could be interpreted that John is projecting his addictive tendencies onto the Deputy, an addiction to Wrath as it were. To killing. To violence. Addicted, without consideration of the people it hurts, much like how more severe addiction cases might drive a person to partake in similar veins of behaviors with violence, theft, etc (but obviously less high in the body count department since this is an FPS game.) Perhaps John’s world view also includes seeing all people outside the Project as being addicted to their sins. Perhaps what John thinks as owning his sin is to admit to his addictive tendencies and trying to turn it towards purposes that are “for the good of the Project and others.” Joseph apparently doesn’t agree, and could indeed be looking at it as John still chasing the newest high in another form as theorized earlier. Maybe Joseph recognizes some form of John’s behavior from his time working at a psychiatric hospital—that’d be dark, now wouldn’t it. A possibility though, mayhap. Of course there’s also the option of “Why not both” interpretations of the Envy and Sloth ideas, to add even more nuanced layers to John’s motivations. Whichever it is of those options in this particular examination, it does all tie in to John repeating his experiences as a theme for how he brainwashes and tortures people in his indoctrination process. It is perhaps a tad ironic that John might still have underlying themes of addiction though, given that Faith’s method of brainwashing is very heavily drug-based with the Bliss, with a hearty heaping addition of emotional manipulation. Perhaps that’s part of a possible motivation of John not liking Faith much given the little dig he has for her via the line also during the Confession mission, “In the east...well. Let’s just say too much Bliss can go to one’s head. Faith created her “Angels” but she never did treat them all that well...” This line is certainly part of the basis forming John’s animosity in A Cold and Broken Hallelujah towards Faith. If anything, it creates a very interesting line of contrast between John and Faith, and perhaps it is a matter of John hating something about Faith that he hates about himself. Multimuse RP questions!
{{ I couldn’t figure out which RP blog to stick these on (since I have like. nine), so I figured I’d just skip to the Answering Part over here. =w=
Found here: https://memesfortheroleplayerssoul.tumblr.com/post/163688858676
is there a muse that you wish gets more attention? Honestly? Dove. There are a couple of people who've said they love reading about her, and I'm so absolutely eternally delighted for them, too deeply appreciative for words! A couple friends I met via rping her, and a couple friends I met in Certain discord servers, but that's about it anymore. But she's my baby, you know? I love her, she's amazing, and I wish more people took the time to write stories with her, because she just has so much potential! I mean, yeah, for angst of course, but also for healing and comfort, for action and fantasy, for mystical and mundane plots alike. She's so multi-faceted and fascinating to explore, I just... well, maybe it's more selfish in that I need help exploring some of the more mundane stuff with her. Because if it doesn't really Have Relevance to a Particular Plot, I generally won't wind up writing it, let alone publishing it. :P But this answer's already too long; I could rave about Dove for hours! All I'm trying to say is, I wish more people cared about OCs.
if you HAD to choose, who’s your favorite muse? Favorite to RP with? Far and away, Dove! Favorite for crack RPs, Srentha or Leyla. Favorite canon character is a GIGANTIC toss-up between Raven and Lapis. Favorite characters to explore for personal reasons are Ryou Bakura and Blue Diamond, but I have a hard time bringing myself to actually WRITE about them, for some reason...
is there a muse that not a lot of people roleplay with? (Besides the ones I haven't advertised? ^^';;) Maybe Phobia? She has only ever existed in comic canons-- though she WAS in the Teen Titans Go comics too! (The original series, not the... bastardization). Anyways, she's a much lesser-known muse. And my muse for her is wildly unreliable, she's a volatile and abrasive character, and my inspiration for her has run dry for awhile now...
if you HAD to choose, who’s your least favorite muse? Phobia. o_o See above, actually.
which one of your muses have you been playing the longest? Prooobably Dove? She was the one I started rping with, of course!
which one of your muses has the most ships? Ships in their canon, or ships in my rps? Because you're talking to a demigray here; I don't really do romance? But in my stories, Dove has 3 ships (all at different times in her life). In rps, Dove has been kinda-contemplating-it shipped a couple times, but never got to the point of, you know, kissing... and in fandom, Lapis probably has the most.
what is each of your muses’ otps? notps? ~ Dove and Srentha together~ (Don't have notps for them.) ~ Kary: food? sleep? Her canon boyfriend Eric ~ Leyla has a qpp named Toby in the stories. ~ Raven: I'm demonbirds trash. I don't even know how that happened, honestly. (Notps include B|BRae and, while not as strong of a NO in the jlvtt canon, ter/raven.) ~ Lapis Lazuli: OTP with Peridot! Intensely notp with jasper. ~ Blue Diamond: OTP with Yellow hardcore, no notps to speak of. ~ Phobia: Utterly unexplored??? I think she voluntarily abstains. ~ Ryou: OTP with Joey (thank my girlfriend for that one)! Notp with Yami Bakura, it’s absolutely 100% possibly my most violently-disgusted NOtp yet. Also with Diva because... What The Fuck??? But I won't rant about that just now. ~ Jess: I haven't really done much shipping, though Mistress and Trick are a hella canon, deeply bonded breeding couple. ~ Evangeline? Sorta-OTP with my gf's character Taex, though it's not exactly a ~romantic~ dynamic. Notp with Srentha, probably, considering she'd try to kill him, given the chance, and she’s pissed at Dove for marrying him.
why were you drawn to each one of your characters? Okay, listen, you can't just ask something like this and expect an easy answer! I could write an Actual Legitimate Essay on EACH ONE, because I only write a character when I'm Extremely Highkey Personally Emotionally Inspired by them!
UPDATE: I tried to summarize, I really did! But there's just so MUCH, and it turned into an essay on its own. --> https://beyondthetemples-ooc.tumblr.com/post/189837029682/why-were-you-drawn-to-each-one-of-your-characters
Summaries go like this: Dove is brave, complex enough to delve deeply in and constantly discover new facets of, and inspiring enough to create a positive experience while doing so. Srentha is fun, positive, and passionate, and legitimate ADHD representation. Leyla is a chill miracle child of creativity and quiet passion. Raven is the reason I'm still alive and perfectly reflected me at about age 14, so I have a very deep personal connection to her. Kary is so fun to explore because she's my polar opposite, as a temperamental pyrokinetic who revels in chaos and really just wants to have a good time. Evangeline is everything Dove suppresses, brought to life, so she's fun to explore as an extension of Dove! Lapis has a lot of struggles to explore and has done a lot of healing and growth that I'd like to expand on someday. Blue Diamond and Ryou Bakura were basically literally me, so I can explore the trauma and healing from their perspectives in a safe space. And Phobia? I just wanted to put characters' mettle to the test honestly, and see what would happen.
which muse is the most fun to write for? Oh, Srentha, absolutely hands down! Dove does have the best close-friends casual-fun kind of rp relationships, though. And Mistress the Mismagius has this sardonic teasing sense of humor that always makes me smile, especially with Murky (Murkrow).
is there another muse you’ve been thinking of adding or writing for? who? Oh stars, I don't need another one. =w= I've been... struggling to get my Ryou blog actually up and running for a long while now. Nobody new has inspired me lately, but I'm pretty stuck in my fandom ways.
what is something everyone should know about your muses before interacting? I stick it all in their bios! But, let's see... Dove: Even though she's Raven's half-sister, she keeps it DESPERATELY hidden, and nobody IC is supposed to know about that. Srentha is very deeply rooted in Azarathean pacifism and won't do much in battle besides help people retreat. Leyla has her father's heart condition and can't do anything too active. Kary will rarely use her powers, as conjuring even a simple spark stings her scar badly. Lapis is more than her toxic relationship! Blue Diamond is NOT the dictator she once was! Ryou does NOT want the spirit of the millennium ring in his life anymore! Jess just... sticks mostly to Sinnoh and rarely ever leaves. And Evangeline has a palpable evil aura about her; she makes SURE of it.
what’s a weird headcanon you have for each of your muses? Dove hates pie. Srentha loves colorful things. Leyla will cover everything in glitter if you let her. Kary will do anything for some good food and/or a nap. Ryou's hair is untamable. Lapis doesn't guard her gem as carefully as she should. Blue Diamond may be more emotional, but she won't sing about it as frequently as other Gems. Raven... doesn't wear underwear?
which muse has the most aus or verses? I mean, the Lapis I was writing for was 97% canon divergent. Evangeline only exists as her own person (and not merely a partition of Dove's mind) in a DCUO-compatible timeline. But I don't really do aus or verses otherwise; it's just more stressful for me.
can you sort your muses from youngest to oldest? Sorting based on the ages I'll generally play them: Leyla (8-14), Dove (15-25), Kary (18+), Ryou (19+), Srentha (20+), Jess (22+), Phobia (23+), Lapis (5k+), Blue Diamond (10k+).
which muse is most willing to fight another muse? Oh, definitely Kary. (She won't fight Dove or Leyla, even if there's a really good reason. And Srentha has this weird power of defusing her. But anyone else, she can easily be provoked to fight on a dime.) Or maybe Evangeline, who will fight anyone at any time for any reason whatsoever?
do your muses get along with each other? Evangeline gets along with nobody. Dove/Srentha/Leyla are all a very tight-knit family, and Kary considers herself Dove's sister and Leyla's aunt. I've thought about what might happen if Lapis met Blue Diamond, but I don’t have the faintest idea of how that'd go? I did start an RP once where Lapis met Dove, and I planned to have them bond over homesickness and purpose-seeking, but then I lost the ehd I had that prewritten on, and never had the heart to try rewriting it. Ryou and Jess kinda exist in their own universe's bubble. (Jess has a whole cast of Pokemon creature muses she very much gets along with, though~)
would you ship any of your muses together? who? Dove and Srentha are hella-canon endgame already, that's been decided for like 12 years!
for each muse, is there a character you wish had a blog so you could interact with them? You know, I've never really been one much for wishing like that. I do wish Dove had a stable Raven again, since both of my all-time favorite Raven rpers have left the rp circle... but that's about it, really.
have you ever considered making a multimuse/is it easier having a multimuse? I mean, my Pokemon blog has like 19 muses built into the breeding center... 8F But no, I prefer to keep my drafts, rps, and tag systems for each muse on separate sideblogs. Tumblr's tags break WAY too often to shove them all in one place. (And with a sideblog, I don't have to log in and out every time I want to check for replies!)
which muse is the most problematic towards other muses? Toss-up between Phobia and Evangeline, obviously. Blue Diamond is a reformed Gem, the way I play her. (I don't care what anyone says, THAT'S CANON as HELL too!) But Evangeline actively goes out of her way to hurt and/or sacrifice people to her own ends,
which muse is most likely to make new friends? Probably Leyla, though now that SU has sent out a message across the Gem universe that Gems are welcome on Earth, Lapis could wind up meeting quite a lot of new acquaintances. It's much harder to befriend her, though. Srentha has a lot of charismatic energy too, and he’ll go out and make friends with anyone, given the chance.
which muses’ fandom do you like the best? Ahhh, don't make me CHOOSE like that! ;; Fandom like being a fan of them, or fandom like, liking the other people in the fandom? Because Steven Universe, Teen Titans, and YuGiOh all have incredibly special places in my heart, while having Their Issues amongst the fandom... Pokemon seems to be the best mannered fandom though, especially amidst the RP community.
is there someone playing the same muse/s as you and you really look up to them? Ohgosh, well there's a blog called, I think, melancholeyes?, that plays Blue so well, it's like reading canon scenes. I did see a blog that played a Ryou I respected, but I can't remember their name... and of course Larissa and Pix played great Ravens, but each a different version.
which muse do people send the most asks for? Probably Dove, thanks in large part to Caleb!
which muse is most likely to have kids? Leyla is already Dove's kid, so... 8F
is there a rule that someone keeps breaking for your muses? Not to my knowledge, but my rules aren't strict anyways.
can you sort your muses from weakest to strongest? ...Oh, stars. How am I supposed to sort them? Well, let's try this.
Weakest to strongest in combat (based on their style of choice): Ryou, Leyla, Srentha, Phobia, Evangeline, Jess, Kary, Dove, Lapis, Blue Diamond, Raven. ( * i switched raven and blue diamond around SO many times. both are immensely powerful with god-like abilities, but raven can literally destroy reality itself. so...)
Weakest to strongest by strength of heart and character: Phobia, Evangeline, uh... Kary? Srentha...? Uh... frICK THIS ONE'S HARD. Because they're all so strong in their own ways. Probably Leyla? Next tier is probably Blue, Lapis, and Jess, and Dove, Raven, and Ryou are highest tier.
which muse are you considering deleting? Phobia, and maybe sometimes Blue. (I actually... never got a single RP or follower on Blue. I'm still debating if I really WANT to rp as her, at least on Tumblr, knowing how toxic the fandom can get around the Diamonds...)
most importantly, are you having fun playing each one of your muses? Pretty much! Especially Dove, Srentha, Leyla, and Raven!~ Raven's wit and clipped verbiage can be tricky to for me sometimes, but all it takes is a little tlc on her dialogue, and it doesn't slow down my enjoyment one bit. :} And when I'm in a Pokemon-hyperfocus mood, writing the Pokemon team is ALWAYS a blast! (Especially the Pokemon; their personalities are so dynamic together.) With muses like Lapis and Blue, and even Kary, the mood for their emotionality waxes and wanes, but I don't write for them unless I'm in The Right Frame of Mind to KEEP UP with them, you know? I never push myself in an rp until it's not fun anymore; at least I know where my writing burnout limits are.
Phobia and Evangeline are both sadistic, and when you're a compassionate person, that can be very hard to write out in the painstaking detail of my style. But sometimes my mind just Won't Shut UP about 'Vangie unless I WRITE IT OUT. Which is a good exercise of course, stretching my horizons and all that, and I do love writing the drama and conflict they stir up.
But beyond the momentary discomforts, I'm just so eager to explore their lives and minds and adventures, so yes, I absolutely DO have fun writing for each and every one!

Hello~ I'm not a very good character judge... can you perhaps please tell me what doctor strange's mental issues were? I might have missed something :
a chance to talk about my favourite character? Gladly  *rubs hands together* Okay let’s take this chronologically.
So first, his solo movie:
He’s gonna have some issues with his hands still - this is the biggest one and it’s his reason for his launch into his character arc - he’s gonna have insecurities about the scars and about the shaking - especially because he now doesn’t have the fine motor skills he once did, and even though he knows there are other meanings to his life, he’s still gonna miss them for the simple things, like handwriting. Additionally, they probably hurt a lot after extensive use, and while that’s more of a physical issue, it’s still an important feature to mention.
Then there’s the death of the zealot. He was responsible for that and, which we see in the film itself, it goes against the Hippocratic Oath, which is still very important to him. It was a big part of his transition into Sorcerer Supreme (which he isn’t in the MCU but I’m using that title for typing sake). He had to realise that this “mystical war” he was heading into was something that he needed to enter, not just say “no” and back out of it. Because his powers were so strong, he’s “born for the mystic arts” and if he weren’t to fight, then Kamar-Taj would have lost a huge ally. He had to realise that war meant death, and that he would have to kill people to save his own life - though while he does realise that, he does everything he can to find another way of defeat. He is a pacifist, don’t forget, (which is also why saying that he’d murder Steve Rogers on the spot is insanely out of character for him but that’s none of my business) and he likely still beats himself up over it because of the guilt.
And then we have Dormammu. Hoo boy, Dormammu. Stephen died over a thousand deaths, in many different horrific ways. He definitely still has nightmares from this, you could probably say that he even has PTSD. He just doesn’t show it. My personal headcanon for why he doesn’t show emotion is that he doesn’t want to show his weakness, as he already battled with his own view on himself as being weak due to his hands, but this isn’t canon. Also, he has a photographic memory, he probably remembers each of those deaths and the pain crystal clear.
Then we have Infinity War:
The biggest one from IW is that he viewed fourteen million, six hundred and five alternate realities, Same as Dormammu, he’s probably gonna have nightmares about them; remembering his photographic memory, he’d probably see him, Tony, the Guardians and Peter dying in various ways over and over again crystal clear. So again, PTSD. I also headcanon that he has a lot of guilt over having to sacrifice the time stone for half of the universe, even though he knew that he had to, he, at some point, likely thought to himself “what if the fourteen million six hundred and sixth reality meant half the universe was spared?” but again, not canon.
And, you know, he did fade into ash. There’s probably quite a bit of trauma there too.

hc; ardyn (ep ardyn)
As I am playing Episode Ardyn --- and slowly dying --- I’m going to write down all the information we get and that is relevant to my boy, that I need for headcanon purposes.
Ardyn is picked up from Angelgard in 721 --- the next scene takes place after he’s been with Verstael for 7 months, in 722.
The Founder’s Day attack takes place in 734.
Ardyn has nightmares constantly, dreams of Aera and nightmares of Somnus and her death.
He is visibly horrified and upset when he first daemonifies someone, just absolutely a wreck about it.
His sword is called the Rakshasa Blade, and it was made in a set with Somnus’s Sword of the Mystic.
I am absolutely validated; he visibly loathes Verstael.
He is softer at this point, in 722; still with the snarky remarks, but he says grace before a meal and is generally saturated with an air of lost and tired melancholy.
He is a “guest” of Verstael in a magitek lab, with a small steel room with a bed and couches, but most of it is made up of shelves of research files and a large desk. He sems to have few possessions of his own; just a little radio and a small shelf of books.
Also confirmation that Ardyn didn’t help with the research willingly, Verstael just used him as a guinea pig and studied him and researched him.
Ardyn loathes himself, too! Considers himself a monster. He’s just...tired and sad and broken.
The light of the sun hurts and damages Ardyn just like any other daemon; his cells simply regenerate fast enough to negate the damage. It still causes him pain, however, and that’s why he covers up.
Verstael dug ifrit up at Ravatogh, and he already had the funky scar/marks on him. Ice burns? Ardyn is Concerned by this.
Lucis literally sent squads of Glaives into Niflheim to kill the monster Adagium or die trying, just like thy were sent to Angelgard to keep it from escaping. And yes, they use language like ‘it’ and ‘that thing’, even seeing him in front of them. So the royal line of Lucis is well aware of what was imprisoned on the island and did nothing, just kept it there.
Ardyn has horrific audio-visual hallucinations of Somnus taunting him cruelly while fighting the Glaives.
Ifrit wakes after this and is genuinely confused as to what Ardyn is after they fight, and Ardyn tries to daemonify him --- he sees something that frightens him, realizing that he had been chosen by the Crystal, and then he sees Aera’s spirit, apologizing to him for telling Somnus what she had seen, insisting it’s her fault for his fate, that this is punishment for her sins, and begs Ardyn to punish her, while Somnus taunts him for being a monster and for his accidental daemonification of a Glaive on Angelgard.
“My calling is to save lives, not take them.”
Ardyn can’t bring himself to kill her like she asks, so the phantom of Somnus forces him to do so, calling him a monster. This is what shatters him entirely, swearing to never forgive Somnus and to destroy everything he built.
It’s after this he was made Chancellor for his “contributions” to the research on daemons.
Ardyn takes the memories of those he daemonifies, and doing this repeatedly to learn more of the modern world and of Lucis slowly corrupted him and drove him even more mad as they all began to merge with his own.
Attacks the Founder’s Day festivities to help Verstael and the Empire, but personally seeks to fight/kill Regis and make him summon the Old Wall, wanting to confront Somnus.
He is able to do so and defeat him, enraged by his brother’s attempts to appease him, and then is called before Bahamut and his true calling revealed --- he was chosen from the start to bring darkness to the land, acting as the Chosen’s sacrificial lamb to end the Scourge.
RESIST ENDING IS CANON FOR MY ARDYN: Ardyn denies this fate, outraged and upset, refusing to bend to the whims of the gods; because of this Bahamut restrains him, calling a shade of Aera to attack and torment him cruelly, claiming that everything is preordained and it is foolish to fight fate.
Ardyn is driven to rock bottom, maddened and in despair, and chooses to kill Noctis and plunge the world into unending night, defying his fate and making all suffer like he has. And if he truly does come to fulfill his role and die at Noctis’s hands, then...it doesn’t matter. Nothing truly matters. And perhaps he’ll finally stop suffering.
He kills Luna, too, out of misplaced hurt and rage at Aera and the gods’ talk of preordained fate, at her attempts at kindness when he is naught but a monster and when his own beloved was stolen.
