I dunno, and I haven't read the Ascendency novels to be clear, so I can’t speak of who he was before his exile - but maybe Thrawn accepting Grand Admiral for that shitshow on Batonn sealed his fate. Maybe he wasn't the one to pull the trigger, maybe he was appalled by the needless death - he still took the promotion, even if he didn't want it. The moment he took the rank plate was the moment the blood on his hands became insignificant in the grand scheme of things. The moment where all his intentions begin to be buried by his actions.
Everyone is all about how Thrawn isn't that bad of a guy - and honestly I do agree that his character is misunderstood more often than not - but he still did terrible things with the Empire. Turned a blind eye and condoned much more with silence.
Because the fall of Nightswan and Batonn may not have been his fault - but he accepted the stain when he took his promotion.
For all you try to keep things fair, it doesn't matter if you're working in a system that is instituted to be cruel. And while Thrawn had never claimed to be a good man, and had only joined ultimately for the protection of his own people, there's something to be said of this deterioration of morality. How he doesn't understand politics, but is still shaped by the dangerous and vindictive workings of Imperial political scene, forgoing honesty for station.
Pirates and smugglers turn to insurgents and rebels. Capture turns to execute. He kills to prove a point.
He develops for the worse. For all he shapes the Imperial Navy, it shapes him all the same. I dunno. Complex character and all o that. He’s no scum of the earth true evil, but he’s no shining star either.

my thoughts on godzilla minus one
Tumblr media Tumblr media
tl;dr i had a religious experience (positive) and it may be my new favorite godzilla movie
i'm going to try to organize my thoughts lmao i have never done a film analysis or review
story
i went in knowing next to nothing, so i was very afraid this was going to be heavy on the imperialist propaganda and reminiscing on the "good old days" of the japanese military
however i was pleasantly surprised to see that it was quite anti-government :]
loved the delivery of the themes of "all lives being precious" and "living on for yourself as well as for the sake of others" – not hammy or blunt!
FORESHADOWING OF THE EJECTION SEAT? chef's KISS we love picking up what the movie is putting down and getting to see the payoff
speaking of foreshadowing:
dr. noda: [takes noriko's picture]
me: oh no she's going to die
i spent like the last quarter of the movie with a headache because i was clenching my teeth and holding in tears after noriko's death ("death") AND koichi planning to blow himself up and orphan akiko
and all the ex-navy guys rallying together to defeat godzilla
i am not immune to classic story beats
semi-related i thought noriko would be covered in radiation burns, but then i realized a depiction of that would probably be insensitive
also the guys measuring radiation in plastic costs? come on now i know we weren't fully educated in the risks of radiation but there must've been some sort of better ppe
characters
i enjoyed like every character which is rare for me in a godzilla film
koichi just can't catch a break. this man gained so much trauma in a short amount of time, like he doesn't have ptsd because the trauma is ONGOING. i think he's my favorite and it's very easy to root for him
his introduction is of him as a shaky baby-faced pilot and then you find out he was supposed to be a kamikaze pilot like goddamn
i liked noriko's assertiveness ("hey i'm staying in your house now :)") and her ability to see kindness in koichi and sumiko
her struggle of wanting to become independent is very relatable. you could see the bittersweetness in her eyes showing that she felt guilty yet grateful for koichi's support........
i was surprised how quickly sumiko agreed to taking care of akiko? but it makes sense since she was (is) a mother and could not bear to see another child suffer, and akiko gave her life a new purpose
i would've liked more focus on the female characters and i don't think it's fair to just blame it on the era :playdead:
i really liked the chemistry between dr. noda, captain akitsu, and mizushima
dr. noda in particular felt like a nice foil/parallel to serizawa from the 1954 movie; he's also a scientist but he's much more personable(?)/"human"
dr. serizawa was my favorite in 1954 but he was very anguished and set on making reparations by killing godzilla (and koichi could be a parallel to him in that regard)
noda focused on protecting the living, not avenging the dead
ough mizushima. being a Youth who feels useless sure hits home
i'd say tachibana is my least favorite just by comparison to everyone else, but he's honestly so valid for his whole deal
visuals and sound
very elegant color grading, costuming, and set design!
i don't know film girl help
GOOD SOUNDTRACK the music set the scenes so well
i joked about getting my eardrums blasted by godzilla but he really was that loud. as he should be
godzilla (design, abilities, etc)
SWEET JESUS THIS IS THE SCARIEST GODZILLA BY FAR
godzilla: [shows up in the first 10 minutes with blair witch shaky cam]
me: the filmmakers are not messing around they mean BUSINESS
the rampage on odo island was rightfully terrifying
i love his texture and face. the scrunkliness of heisei with the horrifying pain of shin
i think his head is a bit small for his body, like if it was 5% bigger it would be perfect
loved the visuals of his scales flaking off after getting bombed
the nuclear fallout when he used his atomic breath in tokyo was awe-inducing
great use of godzilla as a war allegory
i saw the movie in d-box so the shotgun-blast of heat ray was intense
also coolest godzilla death. sick decapitation
the plan to imprison him in bubbles and give him the bends felt a bit silly in the moment but highlighted how desperate everyone was for ANYTHING to work
really liked how godzilla was more like an animal or unstoppable force of nature without a clear motive
i mean the only emotion you could ascribe is probably RAGE
sidenote i did think it was a lil funny whenever an object was flung through the air from offscreen. there goes godzilla having another tantrum

(the hanakou analysis: Here)
Thank you, Anon! That's an interesting question but a bit tricky to answer because I don't think Mitsuba needing to eat spirits to survive is comparable to Kou's trying to see Hanako as an evil spirit but I do want to talk about how Mitsuba's "exorcise me" moment have connection to Kou's journey with Hanako.
Before seeing how each relationship influences the other I wanna highlight their big differences, so bear with me.
Kou does not see Mitsuba as a threat, the 'he eat evil spirits to survive' reveal does not change that. Mitsuba goes out of his way to only eat supernaturals and Kou does not consider killing monstrous supernaturals as something 'evil'. He has seen Teru do it since he was a little kid, has seen Hanako do it to protect him, and even did it himself.
Tumblr media
What makes Hanako be considered an evil spirit is that he is capable of murdering humans. Hanako can be genuinely dangerous, and so far, Kou had gotten no reason to believe Mitsuba is too.
Even if Mitsuba shows signs of being dangerous, Kou does not perceive Mitsuba as a supernatural nearly as much as he does Hanako, spending a good portion of the manga confusing him with Sousuke the human, and treating him like someone he wants to get close to, not judge.
Mitsuba is, first and foremost, someone Kou is desperate to be of use to, not very related to his identity as an exorcist.
If Hanako is the one he relies on. Mitsuba is the one in need of his help. Kou's role of being Mitsuba's guide is self-assigned, present even before the supernatural was born, all the way to when he interacted with Sousuke's ghost.
Tumblr media
Kou failed Sousuke and Mitsuba many times, so his inclination to help him became a need. As the people he trust seem to not take him seriously he grows desperate for Mitsuba to rely on him.
So Mitsuba saying he wants to be exorcised is a spit in his face. He does not care about how inhuman eating demons is when Mitsuba is basically saying "I don't want to rely on you, I don't believe you can make my dream come true. I give up"
He is angry and frustrated. He wholeheartedly rejects the idea not even Mitsuba needs him. He does care about Mitsuba and doesn't want him to die, but he is also blinded by frustration that even the person he had been sure only had him to count on considers Kou a second option.
Tumblr media
Even after he realizes Mitsuba is able to hurt human beings he does not focus on the new information, he does not care about 'how dangerous this supernatural is', his issue with the situation is still not being trusted. Not being needed.
Tumblr media
Mitsuba had even commented it would have 'been quicker' if it was Teru who got there to kill him. As if even for giving up, Kou is not the first option.
Tumblr media
It makes him feel lonely and incompetent.
The thing that makes him stop being angry is when Mitsuba, who saw him cry like a baby, still says "I am glad I came to see you" he was not disappointed by Kou
Tumblr media
It grabs his attention, it soothes his insecurities a little.
But Kou's reaction gets interesting here:
Tumblr media
Kou doesn't deny his claim that "you would be sorry to see me go, the same way you would for anybody."
What Mitsuba said here hits hard, because it makes him think of Hanako.
Even when faced with a cruel version of Hanako in the red house, Kou was frozen, aware he can't exorcise him.
Tumblr media
Kou run away from every single wish in the red house, but killing Hanako is the only wish that makes him hide behind his hands. He does not want to think about it. He does not want to face the possibility he may need to kill Hanako.
So he can't argue with Mitsuba.
And that makes him angry because exorcising Hanako does not mean the same as exorcising Mitsuba. For Hanako dying is not giving up on a dream, it is a reward, something he craves. Or at least, that's what Hanako consistently tells Kou.
Tumblr media
Hanako's beliefs go against Kou's beliefs. This is the one thing Hanako constantly tries to 'teach' him, that Kou refuses to accept.
It is also the only thing Hanako has ever shown to want besides saving Nene. It is important to Hanako, Kou can understand that much. So when the ghost say "I look forward for when you exorcise me." it is a huge show of trust, of expectations.
Hanako only ever explicitly trusted Kou to help with two things: protecting Nene and exorcising him. He seems to be under the impression Hanako no longer trusts him to be of help to Nene, since the supernatural did not share his plans about the severance or trapping Nene in Mei's canvas, and that hurts.
He can't mess up Hanako's hopes of being exorcised too.
Tumblr media
He doesn't want to disappoint Hanako again. There is a reason Hanako's asked Kou to kill him in the house the show you your wishes.
Is no wonder that when Mitsuba makes Kou remember Hanako his view on the situation changes, he considers Mitsuba's nature as a supernatural more carefully instead of dismissing his behavior as the personal attack he had thought it was.
The idea that Mitsuba may share Hanako's view on being exorcised is so frustrating to Kou. He fucking hates it, but he is more willing to think about it instead of dismissing his wish with to die with all the grace of a heart shoved in his mouth.
When he does a competition and claims he will exorcise Mitsuba if he wins, he feels more... Detached than usual. Even if he is visibly troubled.
Tumblr media
It feels like a more raw version of when he is trying to convince himself Hanako is a threat that should be exorcised, telling Nene of all people this:
Tumblr media
Which makes me believe that deep down a part of him wants her to convince him otherwise. Make him believe that Hanako is not an evil spirit he needs to exorcise. But she can't do it.
Kou does not want to exorcise either ghost but Hanako is dangerous, and Mitsuba no longer believes he can be human. So both ghosts force him to think about exorcism.
Mitsuba claim Kou wouldn't have exorcised him even if he had won and that is true. Even if Kou is serious about it, he doesn't have it in him to go through with it and kill Mitsuba.
All he can do is to think about it.
Tumblr media
I find that neat.

A little analysis of this part in the Odyssey:
Reading time: ~10 minutes
Book 23, The Great Rooted Bed, Fagles' tr-n There he sat, leaning against the great central column, eyes fixed on the ground, waiting, poised for whatever words his hardy wife might say when she caught sight of him. A long while she sat in silence … numbing wonder filled her heart as her eyes explored his face. One moment he seemed … Odysseus, to the life— the next, no, he was not the man she knew, a huddled mass of rags was all she saw.
“Oh mother,” Telemachus reproached her, “cruel mother, you with your hard heart! Why do you spurn my father so—why don’t you sit beside him, engage him, ask him questions? What other wife could have a spirit so unbending? Holding back from her husband, home at last for her after bearing twenty years of brutal struggle— your heart was always harder than a rock!” “My child,” Penelope, well-aware, explained, “I’m stunned with wonder, powerless. Cannot speak to him, ask him questions, look him in the eyes … But if he is truly Odysseus, home at last, make no mistake: we two will know each other, even better— we two have secret signs, known to us both but hidden from the world.”
Odysseus, long-enduring, broke into a smile and turned to his son with pointed, winging words: “Leave your mother here in the hall to test me as she will. She soon will know me better. Now because I am filthy, wear such grimy rags, she spurns me—your mother still can’t bring herself to believe I am her husband.<...>
Telemachus is a precious baby, we've established that.
But he does act a bit like a brat with Penelope a couple times. Of course I don't think that any of that is malicious or that he doesn't love her, but he's still being a bit of a brat.
They both suffered, their pain was similar, but also very different, their experiences and the way they processed it were different as well.
Moreover, at this moment Telemachus has already spent some time with Odysseus. They already had their meeting/reunion and they already cried it out (to an extent. I'm sure there's more crying they'll do afterwards). They even had a father-son bonding activity (a.k.a. the slaughter of the suitors). Telemachus got to know his father at least a little bit over the past couple of days and at this point he processed and accepted the idea of Odysseus being back.
Penelope, on the other hand, was told about it just a moment ago. She can't immediately go "oh, you're saying Odysseus is back? Wonderful, let me greet him", no. Odysseus wasn't away on a short hunting trip or something, he was away for two whole decades, half of that time he was pretty much thought to be dead by most people (the first half wasn't that much better, as he could've still died any time during the war, but at least he wasn't lost, Penelope knew where he was).
Now she needs time to wrap her head around what is happening. We even see her thoughts as she goes to meet Odysseus:
Penelope started down from her lofty room, her heart in turmoil, torn … should she keep her distance, probe her husband? Or rush up to the man at once and kiss his head and cling to both his hands?
She wants to reunite with him, she wants this to be true, but she can't be sure of anything now. They have been apar for longer than they knew each other. Does he still love her like he used to? Is he the man she loved? Is it even the real Odysseus in the first place? She needs to process everything, as well as confirm all the information herself, and Telemachus, at least at this moment, doesn't comprehend that. He's acting quite immature, scolding his mother for not immediately believing and accepting that Odysseus is back.
This is a very interesting detail. First it once again shows us that Telemachus still lacks a lot of maturity, despite having been on his coming of age trip. He's still very young.
Yes, he definitely grew a lot in that short time, but it would've been impossible for him to learn everything at once, he still has a lot of that immaturity left in him, there's still a lot of room to grow and that's completely understandable. We, as people, grow for our whole lives and Tele is doing remarkably well, especially considering his circumstances.
Another interesting thing about this part is that it shows Telemachus', perhaps a bit childish, impatience. He is a kid, who finally met his dad (and his biggest hero), he knows that his mother was suffering and grieving for pretty much his whole life (with things getting a lot worse over the past decade). From Telemachus' perspective Odysseus' return is supposed to solve all their problems, especially since their biggest problem, a.k.a. the suitors, was just taken care of and it wouldn't have happened without Odysseus.
Telemachus just wants a happy family. His dad is back and seems to love him, the suitors are gone, now his parents should reunite, his mother will stop grieving and everything will be perfect. This is something he dreamt of his whole life and it's finally so close, but his mother doesn't immediately believe him. She doesn't immediately accept Odysseus and Telemachus doesn't understand why. He is too preoccupied with wanting things finally to be okay, that he doesn't take time to think about what Penelope must be feeling. It doesn't even occur to him. Perhaps it's also partially the need to be believed and listened to, which is also something he lacked growing up around suitors and being treated as a child, but I'm not diving into that right now.
Odysseus, on the other hand, understands what's going on. He assures his son, that everything will be okay. He pretty much does a more adult version of "mom and dad will take care of this, you go play for a bit". Odysseus understands Penelope's reaction and goes from there. Of course he wants to be in her embrace as soon as possible, but considering everything she has been through, he definitely can't just suddenly grab her and do what he wants. This is his dearly beloved wife and he wants her to take on that role voluntarily, like she did before, he wants her to accept him as her dear husband, like she did before, and for that he has to let her do it at her own pace. He tries to meet her where she's at, to do this reunion on her terms, to assure her, that he is, who he says he is and who others tell her he is.
This is just so amazing and I love their relationship so much (T▿T)♡
I also love Penelope's reaction to Telemachus' words. She doesn't react negatively, she is remarkably calm and part of it is probably the shock from what's happening, but still, she is "well-aware". I think that she knows Telemachus really well, because even though he has surprised her with how much he matured, he's still the same boy, he's still her kid. She most likely understands where Telemachus' outburst is coming from and doesn't get angry, doesn't scold him for his impatience, she reassures him. She lets him know, that he doesn't need to be scared of things falling apart and that she isn't looking to reject Odysseus. She's looking for Odysseus and she hopes she can find him in that familiar and strange man before her. She just needs time, but she will be taking the effort to search for what she's looking for, now that she has a way (she wouldn't have been able to go searching for Odysseus at sea, but now he's, supposedly, right here and she will handle it like the queen that she is).

I already wrote one post about kavetham but it was rushed, and also, I think some of the things I mentioned weren't canon. So I'm here again writing a short analysis about fictional men. Actually, it will be mostly calling out the genshin fandom out on infantilisation and feminisation of gay men or not stereotypically masculine men. (I might link down below some fanfics that I think do kaveh and haitham justice, so bear with me)
Before I even begin I have to mention that I don't play genshin so my perception of kavetham could be flawed. But at the same time when I look what the fandom did to them I can proudly say that I have a better grasp on their characters. Also English is not my first language, so if you see any mistakes please point them out.
Kaveh is a well-known architect who graduated Kashahewar with honors. Sumeru NPC'S describe him as talented and a genius. Many people wish to meet him in person. After all, he singlehandedly brought back pride to Kashahewar.
Fandom loves to diminish Kaveh's accomplishments and effords only to turn him into a loving housewife or an incapable baby man who needs a strong leader. To the people who think Kaveh would be stay at home spouse and would stop designing architecture, with full offence you are stupid. If he was hooled up in one place he would eat through the bricks like a rat just to get out.
To add to the stereotypes of gay men, Alhaitham is perceived as some short of cold sugar daddy. Mind you, he is very much autistic coded. Also just because he doesn't need help from others doesn't make him any less autistic. He is constantly dehumanised because he 'doesn't show emotions', many people on spectrum struggle with showing emotions or controling them.
Fucking albeism.
People love to antagonise Alhaitham in order to make Kaveh a victim which he is not. Kaveh fights just as ugly and viciously as Alhaitham. They are both to blame for the state of their relationship, too proud to apologise and finally talk.
I like to think of them as predatory cats because of the way they fight, claws, teeth. All that.
How many times a gay ship falls victim of toxic heteronormativity. Making one guy hyper feminine and the other masculine. If a man is slightly feminine that doesn't make him weak, dependent on others or not capable. Stop treating typically feminine traits or things associated with women as worse. Yes, Kaveh worries about his reputation, his looks, aesthetics and generally how people perceive him. It's not very "alpha male"of him but does that make him less of a man? Gender roles and heteronormativity is fucking sexist, linked to clasism and racism. So stop with this shit, do you really support lgbt or do you have some weird fethishes? Are you an ally or is it all for show.
Most of kavetham shippers are girls who insert themselves in Kaveh's place and in order to relate to him they make him ooc. Most of you have this fantasy of having an older man taking care of you which is fine but just because you have daddy issues you don't have to take it out on gay people.
Another thing I see people talk about is how weak and helpless Kaveh is. Mehrak weilds his claymore for him but that doesn't mean he's feeble. Why would he chose this type of weapon if he couldn't weild it? Also he works as a architect whose job is to design as in to draw on paper. He needs his hands to be in top condition. But Alhaitham is a scribe and fights with swords, well he also does the bare minimum when it comes to his job. Unlike Kaveh who puts 100% in every single project of his.
He may be nice but he has his own opinions and is not afraid to voice them. He is a very opinionated person. Who fights what he thinks is right. Kaveh would not cry if Haitham was mean to him, he would be offended. Because he is angry, he's frustrated with his work, his life, and past.
Kaveh is a selfish man. It's painfully ironic how by being selfless he is actively being selfish. His acts of kindness are a way for him to stop from feeling guilty, he's punishing himself by sacrificing things for the better of others. Of course it's not always but often enough, he does this without even knowing it. It's something Kaveh doesn't realise or doesn't want to admit. By being extremely selfless he hurts not only himself but also his close ones. Image seeing someone you consider family self-destruct. That's why Alhaitham is so frustrated with Kaveh. He does throw occasionally some jabs at Kaveh about the way he lives but it's never too serious. He does that because Kaveh doesn't accept help, he feels as if he was undeserving of it. Alhaitham is frustrated but never angry at him. He deeply cares for Kaveh, otherwise he wouldn't offer to live with him. Althaitam is very patient and emotionally intelligent person, he just doesnt bother with social norms and anything that is a waste of time. He wants for Kaveh to admit that all of his problems don't come from his misfortune but rather his idealism and guilt. By Alhaitham's logic if Kaveh accepted the truth his life would drastically get better. No matter how hurtful and hard to accept it, truth is the truth. Telling yourself kind lies isn't hoing to change anything. That's why it's so hard for Kaveh to pay off his debt. Giving away his money because he's such a 'good' person. It's hard for him, he doesn't have a support system. I'm pretty sure he never had one. His mother too busy working, rasing him and dealing with her own depression.
Kaveh is a renowed architect with years of practice and experience. Whenever I see people think he only desings decorative buldings that aren't practical my blood boils. He is master architect, he knows how to desingn buildings that are practical yet beautiful. Of course his clients pay him well. He is the Light of Kashahewar, people fight to get their commission done by him. He's probably very picky about them and the clients he works with and I can see him redirecting his potential clients to other architects from the goodness of his heart. That's a very Kaveh thing to do. He earns money buy spends it in dubious ways.
Also people froget he's batshit insane.
He's probably out there licking walls and bricks. From our perspective he would be architecture major. Those people are weird and depressed, spoiler alert they are as bad after graduation. Btw to people who make those tiktok vids where two characters pass each other notes in class, Kaveh would not ask Alhaitham what is the answer to a match question. Wake the fuck up. Kaveh is a walking calculator, literally. So what if in your au he's not an architect, then he is in STEM or just really good at match. Why? Because you cannot change all the traits of the characters in your au or it's becoming an oc.
Besides Kavehs isn't interested only in architecture but also in mechanics. He didnt make Mehrak but repaired it, which makes him knowledgeable in many fields other than architecture.
This is the type of a genius who doesn't drink or eat until they complete this one specific task. Thinking about styles of windowsills probably turns him on. He's brilliant but he's also a loser and self-destructive. He's smart but naive. Istg if i see another person making him unintelligent, I'm this close to blocking half of the fandom. One of Kaveh's most important character traits is kindness, guilt, altruism, and intelligence. He is the type to strive for knowledge to be well rounded, just because. Kaveh would read all the books about launguistics just to argue with Alhaitham. Hes petty like that. Also I feel like he wouldn't stop at designing buildings. This guy probably has atomic bomb plans casually stored in his room. A big part of what shaped Kaveh's character while growing up is not only his father death but his mother's misery. I actually think but his mother's misery. I actually think his mother emotional state affected him more than his father death. Lots of peopel make Fahrnak some antagonist that abandoned Kaveh because he reminds her of his father. Y'all just love to vilanize women, to add character depth to male characters you make female characters evil. You know who makes this type of shit content? Vivziepop. Shit ass content, do better. This is the same thing as the cheating trope in mlm when one male character cheats with a woman. Bifobia, sexism and fethishsacion.
I will add something ab alhaitham and more haikaveh all that mirror shit later. Actually if someone will remind to me to move my ass and end this I would be thankful really.

[ This is a bit similar to the previous PAC, except this reading has more to do with the specific road you "chose", whereas your path is more destined and general. I've used new divinatory tools in this reading! ]
Now breathe in and breathe out slowly, empty your mind and pick the first picture/number that attracts your eyes or that you keep coming back to. Or whichever way you always pick piles.
Tumblr media
---
Tumblr media
PILE 1
This road will require you to go deep within. To you, it might feel like you are going into your own pit of hell. But that is needed. If you do not go within and know yourself, how will you know where you want to go?
This road will actually help you to find your own path.
It seems that you are a bit unbalanced between your left and right brain. You may be using your left brain (logic/analysis etc) way too much. You are limiting your consciousness' growth. In truth, you are blocking yourself from merging more of your consciousness with your subconscious. It is creating illusions and stubbornness.
You must turn to your right brain and your feminine energy more.
You must go within, even if it looks like you are entering through a pitch black door into nothingness. I assure you, it is far from empty. You must be patient and let your eyes adapt themselves to their environment...and you will.see.
Find a place to withdraw to go within. Meditate. I emphasise, you really need to meditate. Slowly, your inner, rich wisdom will come out. And you will truly see.
You shed these masks and personas that you have created for yourself. They are only causing you pain. Gradually you shed them off, and once you've done that, you will feed so so much better. You will feel relieved. I can feel these masks making you feel so hot and suffocated, sweating and uncomfortable. Without them, you feel so fresh and nice. Without them, I can see your throat chakra getting healed again. But it's also related to your emotions and your heart chakra. Self expression and self love okay?
Now, I can also see that this road will definitely lead you to a happier, brighter and peaceful place. It's an inner place...aka state. I can see your higher self craddling your soul as if this life of yours is like a precious baby that has come to completion after you finish this road - and even as you go through it. It is really helping your higher self to evolve.
This road will balance and align you between the higher divine realm and the earth realm, in harmony you will live. Meditation, also, plays a big role in helping that process.
Your spirit family and you will be celebrating at this success.
While it will not be an easy road as you will have to face yourself, it is a highly rewarding one and you are asked to trust yourself and trust what you feel guided to do. Never question it.
A quote channeled by me: "White or Black. A strong bear, or a frail bird. Space, or Earth. Warm, or cold. Who are you?" ©️

PILE 2
Well Pile 2, you all are unique and different - more than everyone else. You walk the road that is not walked, and you walk it before anyone else. You choose the unbeaten path, it is not even a road yet! And it's not easy.
It's not easy to see things before everyone else, it's not easy to believe in things others don't. You're the visionary and you have innovative ideas. You want to manifest things - and you can. It's just, not easy.
There may not be as much support on the road you choose, whether financial, social or any other aspect. You might even feel lonely, either because there's no one to share your ideas with, or to partner up on this road. On the financial, legal or material aspects, you might also encounter problems or blocks or just slow progress in general. But Pile 2, don't despair. I feel strongly that the road you've chosen, only you all can do it, not anyone else. You've got the skills, the drive, the soul to do it. Whatever you create, people think that you've made it out of magic! You're that amazing, it's like you're guided by the divine. So here's some guidance from the divine.
My god Pile 2, some of these cards came out so violently 💀. Source/Spirit REALLY wants you to stop doubting yourself, and especially your dreams. Like "stop it already !!!". Stop judging yourself, stop this "I don't deserve this" mentality. Source wants you to realise that you are SO guided and protected. All your ideas and creations are not random, it's a team project between you and the divine, whoever that may be. Source, ancestors, guides, angels, Gaia... You're not walking this road alone! Far from it! So they want to realise that and hopefully that empowers you. Boost your ego a little Pile 2 😂
Now that this was said, all of you Pile 2, must find other 'Pile 2s', whether online or irl. Form a group! Support each other selflessly! Make each other thrive! Let the divine guide you to each other! Maybe even produce projects with each other. I feel so much creativity in this pile, whether it is in art or in any other field. Creativity is not just arts and crafts ! It could be social projects too.
For some of you, not all, be cautious of whom you put your trust into with these projects. Who you talk about your ideas and projects. Who you collaborate with. How you collaborate. Follow your gut feeling y'all, even if it looks good. :)
Again, Source is emphasising that even though this road might be intimidating or scary, you will never get lost as long as you lead with your Heart! It is the seat of your Soul.
Random but if anyone has seen Frozen 2, there's this song Unknown that Elsa sings. She was scared to follow her 'call', but as she did it, she found herself. Or more so, she faced herself. All of it. What did she find? A stronger self. A powerful self. A divine self. She was still her, but somehow she was even MORE of her. This is what's in it for you Pile 2! It's the road to your self.

Pile 3
First of all, some of you guys are funny AF. I can't even. But some of you are super chill and slow. So relaxing. It's so interesting lol, you seem different at first, but actually you're all the same. And I feel like you're all very wise and knowledgeable, but people may be surprised by the funny peeps of this pile because they don't expect you to be that. Also, all of you Pile 3 have chosen the same type of road. So here we go.
This road you've chosen? It's both a literal road and a metaphorical one. Some of you might actually drive or fly back home, where you grew up or to your parents'. For some, you will go on a journey of self-rediscovery. For others, you will be pulled to finally face your past and accept it, so that you can finally let go. Or both of those. That will happen whether or not you go back home.
For some of you, whether or not you go back home, you might encounter some old friends. That will 'trigger' you, but for your highest good. It will do you good actually so this is most likely happening in a good sense.
Pile 3 you're all going to face something again, and you might find yourself looking at the past and the future. Eventually, on this road you will end up more grounded and in the present moment, and more in control/centred. This is amazing Pile 3! I feel so much power and confidence emanating from future you. Even more than now.
You might not have been ready to face those things before, and life gave you some time to just live. Now that you're ready, just follow wherever you're guided to.
Now for some guidance, advice... You guys, make amends. Or, let the other party make amends. Maybe both of you make amends, because a relationship goes both ways. As Cleo Wade said, love is selfless and ego is selfish. For example, you might have had a difficult relationship with your parents or your sibling. You might have left to another city as soon as you could support yourself. You haven't gone back in years. Maybe they got really sick and you feel like you should back home, just in case. But you've also grown, and they have too, and you feel ready to face them, and they want to say sorry and reconnect... The timing is there, don't miss it.
I'm definitely seeing you guys will find home again, both family wise but also in your heart. I feel like at the end of the road, you will find peace. I'm feeling emotional now, but in a good way! Like, what a relief! I'm in so much peace and I didn't know how much I needed - and wanted - that! In the future, your heart is finally smiling Pile 3. From deep inside.

Pile 4
Ego. Pride. False beliefs. Insecurity. Pile 4, this is reading is there for you to wake up before you fall deeper into quicksand. Yup, that's exactly where you're going on this road if you don't come to your senses. The cards are coming at me so directly that I have no choice but to tell it like it is. No sugar coating in this reading Pile 4, but you have to know the truth for you to actually approach this journey better, right?
Thing is, the key words I've mentioned at the beginning are what's standing in your way or your perception of yourself and your environment (physical and social). Ego, pride, false beliefs, insecurity.
You've got to be more humble, and you have to question yourself why you've become like this with yourself, Pile 4. It's going to be a different story for all you, and also, you have to figure it out yourself. So, question yourself why's, write it down as you do, dig deeper and deeper.
You need to wake up and open your eyes! There's more for you to see than what your closed mind, limiting beliefs, are showing you! And it's much more beautiful. And most of all, you have to see where you're going, so that you don't fall to your end. That's the feeling I'm given here.
Some channeled advice/insight, whatever resonates:
Some of you have a habit of lying or exaggerating things. It's not doing anything good for you, and Source/Spirit is asking you to stop doing that and find ways for you to manage this habit. You can do it.
Some of you may be surrounded by people lying to you, trying to take advantage of you. They want whatever you're having but Pile 4, stop bragging about it too. You brought (attracted) these people onto yourself. Both of you are wrong here. Again, too much pride/ego. Cut these people out of your life and learn about how to practice humbleness. It's a learning journey.
Some of you willingly believe in the lies and fake compliments of some people, because it feeds your ego, pride or insecurity. You seek external validation. Why is that? Source/Spirit is asking you to have compassion towards yourself. You should dig a little deeper to be more aware of why and how you've become like this. It's a healing journey, too.
Pile 4, take whatever resonates but also don't close your eyes again if you feel like parts of this reading is hitting something you don't want to face. You have to face it, because the cards are clearly saying that it's only going to create problems for you that you will not foresee. This road you've chosen, that you're on, it's an opportunity for you break out of your comfort zone and the illusion you've created. It's going to lead you to TRUE empowerment.

Pile 5
The wind is blowing one way but you're going in another? The road you've chosen Pile 5, it shows me a goal which you will reach by working with others and helping each other. But there's confusion or uncertainty on this road, or about the goal, or how to reach it. This wind is not an external force against you, it's your own mind, Pile 5.
Aw you guys are the sweetest. Also, you might have grown up in an environment where everyone knew each other, were close, or maintained connections... It was just important. It's like living in a little Chinese neighbourhood and everyone's your aunty and uncle, sister and brother. That stayed with you. And you're using that gift on this road you've chosen. Some of you may have become social butterflies if you're extroverted, and the introverts here would have become very social too though not as much. Connection is important.
I'm getting you're worried about how you appear and present yourself Pile 5. I think you may have also gotten that from where you were growing up. Maybe you were socially pressured to present yourself with grace and maturity, don't make the wrong step. You feel like you have to make things look effortless. Whether you're a man or woman. Physical and social appearances were given so much importance, in that little neighbourhood of yours. And now, you've chosen a road but these ingrained anxieties are getting the best of you.
Another thing you're worried about, as I mentioned at the beginning, is that you're worried about your goal and how to reach it. Pile 5, many of you are worried whether you can do it, if you have what's needed. "Do I have the potential? Can I see this through?"
Oh but you're all so sweet and lovely. There's no way you don't have what's needed for the road you've chosen. Be your genuine self, and you will be the most graceful and stable you've ever been trying. Because you won't be trying.
On that note, don't try so hard on this road. The easiest way to walk it is step-by-step. Don't try to see further than you can. You'll just miss everything eventually because you keep looking so far ahead, only to see nothing anyways. So this road you must approach progressively, stay in the present. You may look 2,3 steps ahead to plan, but no need to look into the horizon. You're no eagle Pile 5. You're a beautiful human.
Spirit wants to assure you that as long as you glide along this road in your time, even if you take some breaks on the side, you'll get there - it's a certainty. So put your worries aside my dear Pile 5. You're perfect as you are, you are loved and you are very capable. Your goal, whether it is, it's not going to disappear. Like the Sun rising up everyday, just keep your eyes on it but lose sight of the connections being made either.
A quote channeled by me: "You are not trapped in your body. Your soul is FREE." ©️
Source said let's give Pile 5 another quote so: "There is giving in receiving, and receiving in giving." ©️
Aww makes so much sense TT

Kohaku analysis
Hi anon, sorry for taking more than 5 months to reply. Kohaku just has so many things going on that I really didn't have a firm understanding of his character and don't know where to start. Still don't actually, but I'll give it my best shot.
Kohaku's main appeal imo is his numerous gaps. There’s a ridiculous amount of them, but the main ones are that he's pink, he's 160cm, he's the youngest character at 15, and yet he has no qualms about killing a man.
He could kill a man and yet was locked in his house until just this year. He could kill a man and yet he's terrified of zombies and wouldn't be able to kill them.
He talks like he has his things together (and he sort of really does), and yet he is still the youngest in the cast and so many people around him nurture him and watch his growth with warm and loving eyes.
Everyone who lays their eyes on him immediately treats him like their cute little bro, and yet he seems to be the more emotionally stable and mature one in Double Face - where his partner is literally the self-proclaimed Mama in the series.
I think the most confusing part about Kohaku is his maturity and simulataneous lack thereof. How he manages to be emotionally mature in DF, and yet is still the baby in Crazy:B. So for this post I'm going to delve into how and why Kohaku manages to do this.
---
(Please bear in mind that I haven't read the !! main stories and the stories for No Name Yet and Ariadne, so i might be missing important characterisation.
Also be warned that I will be referencing events in Dark Night's Passing, Secret Service and Sudden Death. Spoiler warning!)
I feel like most people get really blown away by the shock factor of Kohaku being trained as an assassin. And together with the way Kohaku carries himself, a lot of fans forget that there is a lot he doesn't know about the world.
He grew up in isolation and could only physically step foot into the rest of civilisation at the end of the ! era. And then he promptly got lost. (He asks Anzu for directions to ES in his first character story.) He doesn't know how to choose his own modern clothes either. The clothes we see him wearing were picked out by the salesperson, and for his Feature Outfit he chose traditional wear similar to what he wore growing up.
Kohaku is honestly very similar to Hiiro in this respect. I think it's just not as obvious to non-KohakuPs because:
Kohaku has less questions. This can be explained by how he grew up on the internet, so he had the advantage of familiarity with technology.
Screentime differences:
Hiiro’s ignorance was emphasised throughout the novel that was !! Main Story 1
Kohaku had one (1) introductory chapter that highlighted his ignorance. The rest was sprinkled in mini-talks and event stories.
Differences in other characters' responses to their questions:
Hiiro gets Aira loudly yelling, without fail, that he's stupid and ignorant. And then Hiiro yells his apologies in response. The whole exchange is very noisy and impossible to ignore. (It also happens multiple times.)
Kohaku’s interactions, however, tend to go very smoothly. They’re always along the line of, "Oh, what is this? Ohh so that's it. Thanks for teaching me!". Clean and simple, no jabs and just question > answer > thanks. Or he'll say, "I've only known about this through the internet! I'm looking forward to experiencing this myself this year." And no one comments on it, except for maybe a “Fufu I hope you have a good experience.” It’s all very short and pleasant. Nothing you would take note of unless you’re a KohakuP and realised you’ve seen them lots of times
So anyway, in contrast to Kohaku’s general cool and judgemental "Madara/Rinne-han you’re so stupid” vibe, he really is not that wise in the ways of the world. To be frank, I think his cool-as-a-cucumber behaviour is very boyish of him. You know, when you're a teen and pretend to be more grown-up than you actually are.
And Kohaku is acutely aware of how little he knows. Kohaku has low confidence in making his way through the world, even though he generally acts very capable. This low confidence is the focus of the Honey Bee scout story. It's a very, very cute story where Crazy:B finds ways to push him out of his comfort zone while still respecting his 15 year-old pride. Basically Kohaku was going to shy away from something and Rinne goes "Ha bet you can't do this!" Kohaku reacts very much like a kid by immediately biting the bait. So cute! Another point for the KohakuPs who love the cute and child-like Kohaku. I wouldn’t call Kohaku immature, but he sure isn’t a mature adult either. He has a lot of growing left to do!
Kohaku just generally exudes this little brother energy as easily as breathing.
I think part of it is his size and pink hair colour and baby fat.
Another is probably how open he is about how little he knows. Like Hiiro, he’s not shy about asking for clarification. If you hang around him for long enough, you probably come to expect and accommodate the gaps in his experience.
He’s also super forthcoming and genuine with his praise, admiration and gratitude. The instant he thinks of something nice, like "wow this person sure is skilled!" he'll just let the person in question know. (Unless you're Rinne - you tease him too much for him to want to praise you genuinely to the face orz.) I think people just like being around him and being nice to him because of this habit, and they become nicer and better people in his presence. ((I am looking at HiMERU in particular.))
And despite what I said about his teenage pride, Kohaku's also very gracious and accepting of being consistently assigned the little bro. His attitude to realising that people adopted him is just "huh? well okay I guess. Thank you for your help." He doesn't see it as being patronising; he recognises that people just want to be nice to him and lets them + is grateful for it. (Again, Rinne is an exception because his modus operandi is to bully Kohaku and Kohaku Knows This.)
I think these factors form the basis of his relationships with everyone (minus Madara and his family) where he’s the little baby Kohaku-chan that everyone loves to dote on. And he lets them, and also lets them know that he is grateful for their care! It's super wholesome and cute. Ra*bits-esque, even.
---
But despite all these child-like parts of him (especially him not knowing a lot of common knowledge), he also has a lot of. I don’t know what to call it, I guess emotional maturity in his interactions with others. He's always very genuine and sincere and respectful, and this doesn't ever change unless you're deliberately fucking with him (Rinne).
It's most obvious when you look at Double Face and his interactions with Cagiest Bastard in the Whole Series, Mikejima Madara.
This part requires a good deal of understanding about Mama's issues and Oh Boy Is It A Lot! But what you need to know is that Madara's family is involved with the police and the Shinkai Cult and Madara was been elbows deep in that world from birth. He beats people up off screen and sends the mafia after them and doesn't blink. And his emotional walls reach stratospheric heights. He calls himself Mama and is extremely friendly, but he never really lets anyone close. Headcanon that it's bc he wants to be as close to others as a Mama, but is purposely assigning himself a role that most ppl reject bc he is afraid of actually being that close to people. He's been in a solo unit for the whole of the ! era and was acting alone even before then. Talking about his issues and true feelings are simply not something he does. He buries it under layers of Wasshoi Wasshoi Festival Man Mama. Sometimes he alludes to how estranged he feels but before anyone can meaningfully respond, he jets off to another part of Japan/the world and is uncontactable for a few months.
There's no time to really go into what Madara's issues actually are, but basically Anzu (and the enstars writer Akira) created DF because she wanted Madara to have a friend. Kohaku as an assassin and Madara as the kid of a mafialord just Get Each Other the way others don't. Just look at Dark Night's Passing. It's about feeling too dirty with sin to truly assimilate with the bright sparkling world of Ryuseitai/Tsukasa. It's about not being able to talk about their feelings about their involvement with the underworld because they don't want to sully their friends. Madara sort of talks about it with Kuro, but Kuro is an ex-delinquent and beating other misguised youths up is nothing compared to what Madara is still involved in. Kohaku is probably more comfortable with Crazy:B than any other unit because of their themes of being rejects and rulebreakers, but that's still not the same as assassination. I don't think Kohaku ever came clean to them about his family. Kohaku & Madara just truly do understand each other in a way no one else can.
And despite all that, Madara still tries to distance himself from Kohaku. 😡👎👎. Kohaku has to chase this mf ""unit leader"" down to get updates of their shared unit's work. Kohaku has to call Madara and gets sent to voicemail every time. He has to call up everyone he can think of who could be in contact with Madara and then fly his ass across Japan to beat up Madara up. (He doesn't actually beat Madara up because he's a good kid. He just joins Madara in whatever he was working on and helps him and reminds him that he is no longer alone.)
Anyone in Kohaku's place would be completely justified in thinking that Madara's more effort than he's worth and give up or lash out at him. Just the way Madara likes it! With people so far away from him that he can't hurt them or vice versa (Madara ignores the fact that the act of pushing others away is in itself hurtful.)
But Kohaku doesn't abandon Madara. He takes things pretty damn well imo.
---
Kohaku re: dirty jobs & the Underworld is just so. He's so hopeful even while being born in and knowing the shit side of the world. It breaks my heart and fills me with awe with how disillusioned and yet hopeful he is with the world.
Kohaku in the early stories constantly talks about how the world & people's hearts are dirty. And yet, whenever he receives help (...often, bc of his politeness and little bro energy) he also always comments that kindness still exists in this world. Kohaku, especially in Dark Night's Passing, is a very jaded child. He thinks that his family's line of work is pretty dirty and hates being born into it, but still says he is okay with sacrificing himself for the Suou's. He thinks the world is rotten, that injustice will always exist, and that sacrificing himself is okay, but does whatever he can to ensure that the good people in his life don't suffer.
Kohaku doesn't roll over and give up. He finally has freedom after 15 years and he is so excited to experience all the good things the world has to offer. He knows it comes with bad things too, and accepts it like a champ! Takes it as a foregone conclusion.
It contrasts so sharply with Madara that I just gnnh. Madara is tired. He has given up. He's just floating along trying to help his loved ones while fighting a war in his head and heart against the instinct to also push them far away.
Madara and Kohaku initially connected over their shared understanding of the rotten world and their roles in it, but their attitudes towards living in such a world and with such a role couldn't be more different. Madara believes that he never belongs in the sparkling world everyone else inhabits, and he tries not to "sully" it by never entering it. Kohaku accepts the world, both its rotten and good parts, with an almost zen-like countenance that you really wouldn't expect from a 15 year-old freshly entering the world. Kohaku is excited and accepting and open-minded of all the world has to offer (as long as he doesn't look stupid, because he is 15 and freshly interacting with people irl, he cares about appearances.) Kohaku uses his assassin role to protect himself and those he cares about; it's not something that he even conceives as holding him back.
This really uniquely positions him to set Madara back on the path to heal, because he shares a similar background and yet offers perspective that Madara would not have accepted from any other person. Yes this turned into a DF dynamic analysis but Kohaku was literally created to be a Madara foil, so. That probably just means I'm doing my Kohaku analysis right.
---
Explaining Kohaku's emotional maturity
From a meta perspective, Kohaku's emotional maturity can be attributed to the fact that he was explictly written to be Madara's friend and confidant. He had to be a character that could make Madara feel comfortable enough to let his walls down. He also had to be a character that didn't have the same trauma response and who could handle Madara's.
Lorewise, I think Kohaku's emotional maturity when it comes to relationships (being so open, honest and respectful) can also be explained by his upbringing.
The fact that Kohaku is so open and honest and respectful can be a bit surprising, considering how he was, y'know, locked up for 15 years and all. You expect him to have some very tragic backstory, where he was abused and went through grueling and traumatic assasin training like Killua from Hunter x Hunter or something. You expect him to be cagey and defensive, like Madara or worse. Then you read Sudden Death and it becomes apparent that the chances of Kohaku having been abused are abysmally low. Kohaku is very, very loved by his family. There are still things that don't add up, like Kohaku still having been locked up in a dimly-lit room for 15 years and speaking of his growing up years so negatively. But I'm inclined to think that against all odds, his family treated him very respectfully as a little man and he was raised well. Maybe his distaste for his upbringing was because his family never really tried to justify it or gaslight him into thinking that it was normal and okay. The Oukawas are pretty cool!
---
TLDR for this whole post; Kohaku is very accepting, genuine and forthcoming. He can put even the most guarded people around him at ease and inspires them to be better people just by being himself around them. He was written perfectly to bounce off Madara (and Rinne).
He is also very small and cute. People can't help but dote on him. He is also so excited to finally participate in the world, but feels the tiniest bit of trepidation. He is growing bit by bit every day! Basically he would belong at Ra*bits is what I'm saying. If you ignore the whole assassin thing.

Heeey long time no see, thoghts on whats going on in the comic?
Heeeeeey, and even longer time no answer, sorry TTATT
Anyway… first of all.
Here’s the tag for all my reactions and analysis to this webtoon.
This does mean I will be talking about Chapters 12 to 18 in this one and, ooohhh boy, let’s get this started XD
Okay, so this might get a bit disjointed in some places so uuuhh… bear with me?
First of all: I remembered reading that Birch was supposed to a business partner or something of Edward but I can’t find where I read that. It was never truly stated what Edward’s ‘front’ was (and I highly doubt he let it be ‘the trophy husband of a rich woman’) so Edward forming an alliance with Madam Lee might turn to him and Madam Lee having a business ‘alliance’ later, maybe Edward being the person in charge of Madam Lee’s business endeavors in London (maybe even Europe?). This would be a good place to set that up but, if it’s not, well… I also won’t be surprised considering the last few chapters XD
Tumblr media
Sudden Ezio appearance!
Tumblr media
Not surprising though since Ezio is the ancestor of the Kenways so, yeah, Noa having him in his genes is spot on.
However…
Excuse Me???
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bitch, if you trying to take over our baby boi Desmond Miles’ place, there will be… well… not riots but there will be some strong words being thrown around in this tumblr, that’s for damn sure!
BTW, love this game mechanics shoutout XD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(And yes, I do love these more than that Hitman coin toss thing in Chapter 11)
Also…
Tumblr media
I know this is meant to be a visual ‘aid’ of some sort of the Italian Brotherhood around AC Brotherhood (Ezio and his recruits), but that’s Evie right there.
Tumblr media
That’s Evie. XD
And finally...
Oh my heart… TTATT
Tumblr media
Overall: Edward's parts are interesting and it does feel a lot like an AC game with lots of side objectives before tackling the main objective.
The flashbacks help show how Edward became the person who he is in this webtoon and his conflict with Madam Lee even with their alliance is also pretty interesting.
Refusing to call it opium and just calling it 'devil's powder' is funny though, ngl. I don't know if it's against webtoon's terms and services or not but calling it 'Devil's Powder' is the kind of dramatics that Edward would sometimes have. XD
On the other side though, honestly? I don't know if I would ever like Noa, especially with the way the webtoon is comparing him to Desmond Miles.
(I'm going to sound like a broken record)
Again, if the plot twist is he's Desmond's half-brother or son (super highly improbable), I'm out.
If the plot twist is he just so happened to have the same bloodline as Desmond (with Altaïr's bloodline included) but not closely related, I'm out. (For one, Altaïr's bloodline came from his mother's side and is not part of the Auditore-Kenway side. For another... siiigghhh... here's the post where we talk about how weird the percentages of Noa's 'bloodline' is)
The problem with his connection with Desmond is that it comes with doing disservice to an already existing underutilized character: Elijah.
Remember, all the memories Noa is reliving are Edward's memories before he had Haytham. So this means that Sample 17 could have been used to find these memories. They don't need Noa to do this.
And even if they need a 'living descendant' or what not.
ELIJAH IS STILL ALIVE in canon and would have the same memories.
"Oh, but Elijah is in hiding". Uh-huh. And it's not like Abstergo finding him or him creating his own modified Animus to find these memories would be anything out of the realm of possibility.
Which is why I am still advocating that 'Shimazu' Sei and her fellow kidnappers are doing this without Abstergo's approval and/or knowledge.
I detailed why I came to this conclusion here.

And if Yoshida doesn't side with Denji and still sides with public safety, will you accept he's not a "uwu baby" then?
So this is clearly bait, but because I am in a Yoshida-posting mood right now I'm going to pretend that you sent this ask in good faith.
First, nobody is calling Yoshida an "uwu baby". Chainsaw Man is not, in fact, an "uwu" manga.
Second, I'm not doing anything crazy by believing that Yoshida isn't a bad person. Fujimoto's been dropping hints about him since the start of Part 2 and all I'm doing is... not ignoring those. There's way too much effort being put into the ambiguity of his character just for him to be another Makima, and I think it's an oversight as a reader to disregard that.
I think most people who hate Yoshida actually just hate the exaggeratedly vile fanon version of him that's resulted from poor literature analysis and the fandom's infatuation with horny Denji whump. Canon!Yoshida hasn't done much except be unsettling and do (re: fail at) his job, which he's been implied several times to be conflicted about. Sure, he's served as a minor antagonist to Asa and Denji in some chapters, but he's also expressed remorse each time, and it's basically been spelled out that he's being strong-armed by Public Safety to do most of this.
But hey, anon, maybe you're right. Maybe after all the dithering he's still going to choose Public Safety. Fujimoto would definitely be the type to pull some dark shit like that.
But honestly, who cares? Liking a fictional character doesn't mean you 100% endorse and agree with their actions and morals. I enjoy reading Chainsaw Man because of its morally dubious characters. I like Yoshida because he's complex and interesting to me, and he will likely still be those things regardless of what side he ends up on. Obviously, I'll be disappointed if he opposes Deniji/Asa/Nayuta, but if the writing's consistent and his motives make sense then it's not going to ruin my enjoyment of his character in the story.
That being said, none of this has to have any bearing on you. Keep hating him if you want, I'm not here to police your fandom experience. But it's silly to barge into my inbox and condescend me when all I'm doing is paying attention to the text.

I watched Wish recently, and regarding what people had said, it wasn't bad.
It wasn't good either but it wasn't bad it was... meh.
(Might be spoilers but yeah, if you didn't/don't want to watch it my little analysis won't really interest you)
Now as a Disney and animation fan, I must talk about it because I watched it very late and still manage to bear my own opinion even if no one asked for it so here it is yoohoo
Did I laugh ? Yes two are three times (and no joke, I was the only one cause I'm an easy-laughter); did I smile ? Sure; did I find some music interesting ? Kinda; were the colors pretty ? Yes; the animation for a disney ? Err... m'k.
I get people that like it, there are things that are interesting, it... passes the time, you can show it to toddlers, but yeah, I mostly get people that didn't because I was kinda disappointed. If you take one thing apart from the other, it's quite awful, and when you put it all together it's a "hell no", especially because it's supposed to be the 100th Disney classic. I mean, I get the point of foreshadowing old classics, but some were really messed up like- some characters are just carbon copies of old design ? Asha's best friend is Snow white if she was a disabled four-eyed girl, the tired guy looks like the rich guy in Big Hero 6 and Bambi ? Little John ?? Can't you do that any clearer, we're fucking blind here.... I mean, ok I laughed when I heard that but I don't count I'm an easy laughter, wtf was that, like- I couldn't help but look at my brother like "did you see the same shit I just saw ? And you forced me to come and pay for that ?" and I was mostly laughing out of embarrassment because I WAS ALONE GIGGLING TEARS OF WTF-NESS
Some things were cool I guess, like the mirror effects when Magnifico sings I think ? And at the end when he elsa'd his castle to take the star. The Jafar effect wasn't bad either, but because it's Jafar effect and Jafar is a fucking badass, same with Elsa-ying the castle, because this scene in frozen was very cool
I felt bad at first but I must say, the songs are very disappointing. Like I wasn't expecting much, and it sure stuck in the head easily but that doesn't mean it's nice. The ones I appreciated were the song about the wishes (the clip is pretty) and maybe the revolution song (but the clip was urgh and why the hell they look so lifeless ???) I get why people said it was made by AI lol
In terms of character, except the Queen and grandpa, I didn't like any of them. Like usually I can't hate or dislike a Disney character, but here ? None of them was fine to me. Actually, I felt nothing from them. The villain was erh... basic I guess, he could be nice like the woman in The Rescuers but no he was, well basic "I'm perfect they should be grateful but they are not so let's become an asshole !" So yeah. Disappointed. He was a better villain than Hans, tho, maybe because Hans wasn't supposed to be a villain at first and that Magnifico was like Jafar, Evil Queen and Scar had a baby. Also, it seems to me like they didn't have a few or any -like ANY- personality, like- I CALLED THE TREASON OUT THE MOMENT I SAW THE LIFELESS BIG BOY COMON'
Now, I'm coming to people saying all the kids love it and I'm too old for that: no. No, I'm not too old for that, Disney is for everyone. No, not all the kids will love it, kids get easily bored, and this movie isn't very attractive. I bet if I show this to my nieces and nephews and siblings, they wouldn't care less - and they already don't very much care about movies in general when you put one for them. There were at least four kids in the theater and none laughed, or sounded interested, one preferred to play on his daddy's phone ??? well, I know all kids aren't like that, but really, this movie wasn't made to content the kids, it was made to content the fans clearly, that is why the movie isn't good.
Anyways, if you enjoyed it good for you ! The colors are pretty and the technic used is interesting, the chara design of Asha and the Queen are pretty, I can't say anything for the rest, tho, because the bg design is just resuming the old (and new *cough* encanto *cough*) classics anyway, but less good at guess... but really, if you like it, good for you, and say why, so I don't have a bad souvenir of it forever lol

I’m not sure if you’ve talked about this before, but I’m curious: do you think Silco has a genuine soft spot for children? (Aside from Jinx, obviously…though he took her in for many different reasons, it wasn’t just because she was a child)
It’s questionable, but in my opinion not impossible in the slightest- in fact, even with Marcos’ daughter he seems to be good with kids- though that might just be because he had practice with young Jinx lol (also yeah I get that that was just an act toward Marcos’ daughter…but dang I mean he’s a pretty good actor because despite his threats, that scene was almost endearing??? XD)
Anyway! Yeah just curious, you give really interesting analysis/hcs on Silco and such, so👀
Anon, first off, let me kiss your pretty hands for typing this message and giving me a chance to delve into Silco's character, but also worldbuilding in Zaun. I don't get such asks often, but picture me very excited. [note : I went overboard, sorry! Enjoy my 2k ramble!]
Now to answer your question quickly, I think that yes, Silco is good with kids and probably likes them fine.
First about him being good with kids
Tumblr media
I think we need to think about what sort of place Zaun is meant to be, and have been*. It's hard, because we're not shown everywhere, and some of what we are shown makes no sense, on top of riot lore and Arcane lore not always matching. But the way Silco talks about the past, Zaun was even worse than as we see it in Act I.
From all the working kids, the slums, the chemicals, the forced work in mines, the countless orphans and numerous found families, it gives off very Victorian Era vibes of early industrialisation without labour laws.
Silco is said to have had the Lanes' respect, and was working with Vander. Even then they fought for "the dream" of a Nation of Zaun. This has strong "young revolutionary" flavours. I personally opted to make him part of a pre-existing movement helmed by the adults in his life, so he could start young and not come across too much like he was inventing the wheel, but I've seen many different takes!
At any rate, a young revolutionary living in a slum-like victorian hellscape of urbanisation would be surrounded by children! They'd be in the mines, the factories, the brothels, the shops, begging in the streets, crowding orphanages and poor houses! They'd be working the boats and mending nets and joining gangs.
Silco would be a community leader though, and in crowded spaces like this, there's no reason that he wouldn't interact with a lot of kids, or work with them. Employ them, even as a child/teen himself (re, F&D, in which Sevika remembers Silco enlisting her and other younger kids to write pamphlets for him). How crowded are the slums or even the Entresol anyway? How many children would people have, if kids can be crushed in machinery, poisoned by chemicals, or die of Lung Blight?
How often did he look after his neighbours and friends' children because one of them was sick, and skipping a day at the factory was not an option? Or helped kids who'd just lost their last parent? How many times did he keep the younger children occupied while the adults discussed politics and action plans, because no one had the luxury of a nanny or childcare?
How often did kids tag along because they liked him, and he got attached only for these kids to die? Bear in mind that in act I, he has a gang of children at his beck and call (Deckard looks maybe 18 if you squint, but his lads are all teens for sure).
Tumblr media
I think if you make Zaun that sort of place, then it's impossible for Silco to grow up "hating children". Worse, I don't think he'd have a very clear cut understanding of what WE mean by "children". It's very likely that he sees them as going from baby to "small person", as people did for centuries IRL. Childhood isn't a uniform concept. Kids pulling their weight and working is still a concept in many cultures and communities, even in "western" countries. (How many of us had friends who hurried home to help parents run the family business, or were that kid? Who had to go home early in summer holidays because it was time to harvest or shear, etc? Now compound this with no apparent schooling system, and you see how that goes.)
Being good with kids isn't some sort of innate skill as well. Like everything, it comes with practice. The first time someone hands you an infant, you feel like a block of stone. The 10th infant, you just sling them in rugby-ball position and rock on.
Silco probably interacted with hundreds of kids of all ages, and the fact we're debating him liking them in general probably comes from this misunderstanding of what "children" are. He most likely doesn't see kids the way Marcus sees his own child, for example. Something to be cooed at, pampered and kept in the comforts of a (modern, western) childhood. He doesn't even do that for Jinx, despite clearly indulging her to the extreme.
I hope that made sense. Anyway, for Silco to be awkward around kids and not like them, I think you'd need to make Zaun itself be quite different from what I'm describing above. A dense, poor Zaun, flush with kids, single parents, gangs, etc etc. Would just force exposure.
Final point in this section: we have to remember that Silco was also probably a very different man pre-drowning.
Tumblr media
Vander destroyed his ability to trust, and since he was apparently not a common sight around Zaun, it's very possible he also made him an outcast, persona-non-grata in the Lanes. Silco himself is all talk about inner monsters and revelations, and claims his old self died that day.
How friendly was this old self? How warm with adults and kids alike? Silco remains someone with a dedicated following. His goons believe in him and stick around, even after the disaster at the cannery. He clearly can be a people pleaser, if he wants to be. Just how nice and charismatic was he, before? When he could trust people and thought they could believed in the "dream" with the same dedication?
Vander robbed us of a Silco we'll never know.
Now about him liking children
I don't know if I'd go and call it a soft spot, but he certainly seems very happy to play with Ren. He doesn't have to, he has two goons with him. He could have asked Ran or Dustin to play with her instead and chill on the bed himself.
Tumblr media
And Ren (Marcus' daughter, I know it's confusing to have Ran and Ran in the room) seems very relaxed and happy to play with him. Yes, it's most likely done to fuck with Marcus' head, but I'm sure Silco could have found other ways to achieve this if Ren was scared or refused to play. He's got time to kill, and he gets out of his way to spend that time keeping Ren relaxed by playing with her.
At the very least that tells us he doesn't hate kids.
Tumblr media
I think he also spares Renni's life after she sided with Finn because he's sensitive to the fact she just lost her son. He's not showing much emotion in that scene in the factory, he's being the big boss. And later in his office he's an absolute bitch about using the son as a sort of threatening "get you out of jail free this time" card for her, but yeah... If he didn't care about kids and were truly ruthless (and we know he is!) he wouldn't have bothered. He didn't have to use the child's death as a "that's punishment enough" excuse.
That means he understands full well how much of a punishment losing a child is. Finn loses his life, and Renni gets out scot-free because she already lost her son. Tells you a lot.
And then of course you have Jinx...
Tumblr media
His relationship to her as an adoptive father has been micro analysed to death by the fandom, so I don't need to say much, but someone who hates children wouldn't have a teen/young adult daughter who is so fearless of him and so free with casual affection. I'm not saying he would have been abusive otherwise, or that a parent who isn't "fond of children" can't still be good and do their best at parenting and love their kids.
I just mean that if he disliked children, it's unlikely he would have fostered the kind of affectionate relationship that leads to what we see on screen. They brush hands, he cups her face, she hugs him (after committing mass murder and nearly ruin his life's work lol)
And he is clearly never physical, and never has been. Which means he's never lost his temper with her in a violent way (vs. Vi, who is shown to have done just that in the Enemy video even before what we see in episode 3—which also doesn't make her a terrible sister, but violence was a part of their relationship).
In contrast, Silco can rip a tool from Jinx's hand and she won't so much as flinch, because he's never been violent with her and she doesn't expect he ever would.
[She's the violent one in their relationship—that's canon, people. She straddles him, stabs him 3 times in the face with his own medical equipment, the very same equipment HE used to build a rapport of trust and confidence with her by letting her do his injections for him. And even after she breaches that trust and tramples it, he still doesn't do anything more than gently taking her wrist, not even pulling her off. All of this is before she gets shimmered up, I don't make the facts, go read my Jinx is a dickhead post lol]
ANYWAY. I think this paints the picture of a man who has "no problems" dealing with children, and isn't particularly strict, (or good at enforcing boundaries, but that's another topic). Yet it's the same dude who casually ordered Vi, Mylo and Claggor's death after they came to Vander's rescue, so what gives?
I'd like to point out, in Silco's defence, that he tried to have the kids removed from the situation, or trigger Vander into defending them from Marcus and joining his side.
If Vander had bashed Marcus when he visited the Last Drop and joined Silco's side, the kids would have been safe and stayed in Vander's care (as safe as you can be in a revolt against Pilties).
Even if the kids ended up in a Piltover trial, Silco could very well imagine that they could be reclaimed in the ensuing negotiations ("We get our nation of Zaun, and hand the children back too", that sort of deal).
Tumblr media
But Marcus fails, and Silco changes his plan and rolls with the punches. Let me point out that he ONLY comes for Vander. He leaves the cannery open for potential rescuers and Vander allies to sneak in so he can kill them too (in the exact same mentality as Ambessa, you get rid of the old regime now so you don't have to kill more later).
It's hardly his fault that Vander has no allies at all outside of his kids!
It's never made explicit that Silco was baiting the children themselves. After all, they're children, and he has shimmer-monster Deckard with him. If Silco wanted to kill Vander's kids so badly, he'd just show up at the Last Drop and murder them there. It wouldn't be hard to take them by surprise.
So I think that once more Silco worked with what fate gave him. Only the kids came, taking on adult risks, willing to fight. So he'll treat them like adults. This goes back around to my first point, about him not seeing children as precious things to protect and who deserve a "childhood". He sees big kids taking on big risks and basically goes "Syke." or as he tells Vander "You had your chance."
Vi, Mylo and Claggor had the chance to stay away from adult business. They didn't take it. Silco has no sympathy for them "just because they're kids".
Even when things get much better, and Zaun richer (act II-III), you still have the leaders' children working! Renni's teenage boy works in the shimmer factory, Jinx is on the front lines of a gang war! No one is exempt. No one gets to be a pampered child, the way Ren gets to. That's Piltie privilege.
Conclusive thoughts on Silco's mindset.
Clearly he's got no child of his own when we meet him, and it doesn't look like he was really planning on getting one. Personally, he gives me amazing aro-ace king vibes, so it's even possible he never planned on getting a bio-kid or raising a family, in the sense that he wasn't looking to partner up. Even though I can be pretty pro-Vanco, I also like the idea they had a very intense platonic queer relationship.
Anyway, Zaun being Zaun, orphan kids abound, and Silco gets chosen like a guy who finds a stray kitten in the street and is followed back home to a chorus of meows.
I think Vander's betrayal made him less predisposed to like people in particular vs. people as a whole (what with him sacrificing his entire life to "the children of Zaun"), but he remains a kind man at heart, buried under the layers of hardened "mob boss" persona. His trauma also makes him a soft father, too trusting and lenient, funnily enough.
Tumblr media
I think Jinx herself helps soften his understanding of children, and what they mean to their parents. It's one thing to see it, a different thing to live it.
So yeah, he probably is very used to having children around and doesn't usually mind them. He most likely enjoys them like any other person might, you know "when I don't have to take it home", which is always MY excuse for having fun with other people's kids lol. But Jinx changed that. And through her we see he was good too. I'd like to think he'd never kill Ren to get back at Marcus, but would probably kidnap her and treat her like an honoured guest. I'd like to think she wouldn't even know she's been kidnapped! xD I think he was dotting to Jinx, but wouldn't easily be on anyone else.
Voila! Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk!

Hiya! Your intro says you like media analysis so I was wondering - watched/read/listened to/etc anything good lately? And/or got any recommendations? (OOC: this is freeform, answer it however floats your boat! Or if it doesn't float your boat, absolutely no worries, you can delete it! /gen)
Ough, that's a good one!
Since the delcatty's out of the bag, I guess I can be more open about how Plasma affected me. Since I was taken in so young, I didn't have much opportunity to learn how to think for myself, and I struggled with bodily awareness and identifying my own emotions. But... stories helped me realize how to feel again. I would use warrior skitty comparisons to try and contextualize my own feelings at first, but it wasn't enough.
Media analysis started as a project my therapist gave me, since I was getting frustrated with my inability to identify my own emotions, and our sessions were sort of hitting a plateau. Which is to say, they asked me how my day was, I yelled that I didn't know and started crying, and I'd spend the rest of the session on the couch snuggling my therapist's vulpix. (Baby Fluff was not very emotionally stable lol)
So I started looking for stories. I got a bit into vocaloid-- a couple favorites of mine are the medical anomaly, rolling girl, irony, yellow, and good kid medicine. It gave me words for what I was feeling, proof I wasn't the only one to feel these things. Suddenly I wasn't alone, I wasn't crazy or exaggerating, I had songs that spoke to me. Someone else out there knew what I was feeling and said it better than I could.
Hatsune Miku got me through some rough times, y'know? And the warrior skitty AMVs-- gods, that made up the rest of my music taste. I was never very good at art, except maybe in trying to copy the anatomy drawings because I was bored, but there were incredibly talented people out there. They told brand new stories, or put a twist on existing ones. I never knew there were so many stories out there!
And then there was anime. I couldn't handle anything with fanservice-- bear in mind at that point, I hadn't yet had The Talk, I just knew it made me uncomfortable. So I mostly watched kid's shows, and there was one magical girl show that looked cute.
It was, ah. Madoka Magica, if you're familiar with it. But the grief and hopelessness, the way the girls try to cope with pain and being fundamentally unsuited for something, the loneliness... and later, it's revealed that one character, who actually looked a lot like me before I cut my hair, had a heart condition and low self-esteem. She felt useless, she...destroyed herself for a chance to save someone who was kind to her. And then the bittersweet ending-- that the world can have love and hope even if it sucks. It made me think... maybe it was okay for me to live. It gave me a lot to think about, and holds a special place in my heart to this day.
I started making progress in therapy again. I'd walk in and say something like, "I think Mami Tomoe probably has a lot of guilt because she survived and her parents didn't" and somehow the conversation would turn to the fact that I wasn't taking painkillers like I was supposed to. And maybe it was because I felt like I didn't deserve it.
Just the weak herbal stuff back then, mind you, because ibuprofen scared the shit out of me, but... sometimes I would talk about a character and realize I was seeing myself through them, talking about myself through them, and I finally had a voice. They gave me a voice. So I want to help their stories be understood in return.

Your analysis is so great and inspires me to write Chair fanfic! I was wondering what kind of parents you think they'd be? I know people think since Blair and Chuck are not exactly the most warm and nurturing people and lead busy lives they'd have a nanny raise their kid for the most part, but I think they'd be pretty involved parents? Maybe I just want to think that! I feel like Blair would be super structured, organized, rule-oriented etc who keeps the family functioning beautifully while Chuck is more chaotic and the kind of dad who sneaks the kids sugary snacks lol. I'm also curious how you think they'd deal with a kid who (gasp) isn't popular and doesn't care about upper east side social events, debutante balls and so on!
hi!! omg I'm so honoured sksfjksk thank u sm if u post any fic pls tag me I'd love to read it 🫶🏻🫶🏻 ohh I love this question!! I have a lot of feelings about chair as parents lol. I think that actually bc of their individual upbringings they'd be more hands on in terms of parenting as they want to give henry and any other children they have the childhoods that they didn't. ik that they probably would hire a nanny at some point when their children are older, but I believe that they would do all the main parenting themselves for as long as they could (yes even diaper changing and potty training and night feeding). also for chair parenting their kids as babies I think they'd be so enthusiastic about every tiny milestone. like henry rolls over for the first time and they take a hundred videos and are like he's the smartest baby in the whole world!! look at him!! meanwhile baby henry's got no idea what's going on but he's v encouraged.
in terms of their dynamic I think blair would definitely be the more "strict" one in the sense that she's more organised and likes rules like u said and she wants her kids to have structure in their lives. but I do think that she's gentle and loving with them too bc she didn't always get that with her own mother, so she doesn't want her kids to ever feel like she doesn't love them or isn't proud of them. also she's definitely the scarier one when it comes to like parent teacher conferences and stuff everyone thinks it's gonna be chuck but no she's an absolute mama bear. chuck as a dad is so important to me and I think he'd be a kind of soft that ppl never expect. he'd still be like serious about things but definitely more relaxed and the kind of loving father he always wanted. imo for him, like with blair, the most important thing for him is that their children feel supported and loved and that he's present for them. he wants to be there in the big and small ways and he'd definitely be kinda chaotic at times (when henry turns 16 chuck's like if u wanna smoke or drink pls do it around me and uncle nate it'll be safer also we'll show u the good stuff and blair's like no!! we're not encouraging this!! and chuck's like 😏) but so devoted to his children. their kids know they can go to them with anything and they have a much healthier relationship than most ues families.
this is such a fun point so if henry or any of their other children didn't care about ues life or didn't care about being popular I think they'd be surprised but supportive. I can see blair being more surprised and unsure at first than chuck bc she loves tradition and the ues lifestyle (I say as they live in paris sksfjkdk) but I think as long as she knew her child was happy then she'd accept it. she'd definitely try to do things to make them enthuse more but I think eventually chuck would help her realise that their children's happiness is what matters regardless of if they're popular or not or how many events they go to. chuck would be more ok with it bc he wasn't always popular with his peers so I think he'd have a mentality that his children will always have a certain level of fame and notoriety no matter what, so if they change their mind and want to be more involved in ues society then they can reintegrate more easily, it just depends on what they want

Nandermo isn't the only dysfunctional couple on the show, Sean/Charmaine is something as well
This post can be considered as a character analysis, even though Sean only has 40min of screen time and Charmaine barely 5'
This is just my own interpretation :
///
What makes a marriage last is obviously the communication, indeed the most concrete example in the show is Nadja/Laszlo (300 years baby)
Before the episode "Brain Scramblies", the marriage between Sean and Charmaine was already on the rocks
What I see as the main reason for the marital dysfunction is due to Sean's selfishness, irresponsibility, inability to communicate and frequent lying
-
When Charmaine asked Franky to return the 20$ from the pizza party, instead of supporting his wife who was clearly in the right, Sean preferred to side with his friend.
He clearly lacks trust in his wife.
-
After receiving Laszlo's money at the end of the episode, he makes another empty promise "I'm never, ever, ever, gonna do this again. I'm never gambling again, I'm a new man !"
In order to renew his vows of remarriage, he decided to go to Atlantic City, and promised that he would be "good this time"; which obviously wasn't the case (he went broke at the Casino)
And at the last second we see him bet absolutely everything on the "lucky number 12"
His behavior is obviously due to his gambling addiction, however he considers that it is long over "I used to have a big time gambling problem".
Fortunately, Charmaine appeared out of nowhere to probably yell at him.
Speaking of money, fully aware that he is already in financial trouble, Sean lends his bank card to Laszlo without thinking about the consequences of the gesture.
Charmaine trusted him to behave in moderation, if Laszlo hadn't been there to save the day, the situation in the couple would probably have gotten worse.
-
He has complete blind trust in his best friend, which is why they get along so well
Same example in the episode "Chamber of Judgement" , Sean tells his secret to Laszlo and not to his wife, who would be the first one concerned by this. "Even Charmaine doesn't even know..", at this point Charmaine may not even be aware that her husband went to court.
Sean is very open-minded and at the same time completely narrow-minded :
He started a pillow business without consulting his wife, and when he gets in trouble he blames others (his friends who didn't want to buy him pillows)
-
He fully supports the LGBT community, however the idea of selling a so-called man pillow to his wife is too much to bear.
This very gendered way of thinking is probably due to the education he received from his father.
It's not surprising that he married an extremely feminine woman, to fit the criteria of a heteronormative couple
Sean instead of making an effort to spend time with his wife and try to find common interests with her, does everything to run away from her.
"A long weekend away from the ladies"
This explains the fact that Sean and Charmaine were seen together in the show for only 5 minutes.
We can see a parallel with Nadja who wants to spend time only with women, but she has the excuse that she has been living with men for centuries.
At first glance Sean and Laszlo have nothing to do with each other and few traits in common but both make an effort to spend time with each other, to get to know each other.
Charmaine seems to be making an effort on her side, as she also watched Ocean Twelve with her husband and even learned a line from the movie.
At the time of his speech during the marriage of Nandor, one feels obviously that Sean projects his own couple towards the young re-married :
The relationship between Sean and Charmaine is co-dependent, Sean is aware that at any moment she can leave him "She's gonna leave me Laz !" but unconsciously he continues his abuse because he knows that deep down she will never leave.
"It's a long time to be with another person, you like her right now but..."
-
Sean is rarely aware of the sacrifices his wife makes and instead is harsh towards her.
During the wedding credits scene, she approaches a completely wiped out Sean on the floor "OMG Seanie... 🥺"
Sean responds with a simple "STFU."
And Charmaine replies "What's wrong with you ?!" (sis, you already know)
Charmaine is also relatively closed-minded, like when she blames Marwa (new in the neighborhood) for not knocking on the door and bringing cookies
The two of them (Sean & Charmaine) are really a pair, and they probably love each other to death
In the Brain Scramblies episode, his first reaction after seeing Charmaine on the porch (with his brain completely fried) is to fall in love all over again, and he didn't expect that such a beautiful woman would get married to him
(Nadja) "She's your wife."
(Sean) "A wish huh-"
Conclusion : To me they are as fucked up as Nandermo, Sean has self-destructive tendencies and deep inside he considers that he doesn't deserve Charmaine and that's why he does everything to screw up the marriage. (self-sabotage)
So now that he has conquered Charmaine, he doesn't make any effort (at the beginning of their relationship, when Charmaine's dog died, Sean brought her a bouquet of flowers every week)
-
If he doesn't open up to his wife, their relationship will just be superficial and tumultuous.

Sorry I was at work all day but jumped to open this when I got back!!!
I I dont mean to take @clexa-is-forever job, but I must give an analysis on this!
First off: Starting out with a drunk sword fight, did not expect that but it is genius! 😂
"You're beautiful Sam"
R speaking nothing but facts.
“Oh, thank you. I guess,” Sam trailed off at the end as she felt heat creep up the back of her neck. She’d been called pretty before, and even hot, but you were the first person ever to call her beautiful, and Sam loved it every time the sentence left your lips.
🥺poor baby. You're stunning Sammie!!!!
"You're insufferable"
"I know but you love it"
So, it's that type of relationship, eh 😏
Ok, bust seriously, Sam's hands are goals and I can't blame R
“They are a lot like you; rough, but under the surface, they are extremely soft.”
Why is this so accurate 😭
"I have thoughts about them as well. I wonder what they would feel like-"
😳... R, I'm gonna have to stop you right there for your own good ✋️
"If you ain't first, you're last!"
Is that a Ricky Bobby reference!?!?!?!?!?
"Swear fealty to me"
Sorry girl but I ain't swearing no shit to your short ass (Honestly would tho👀...)
"As the argument grew, you needed space from the loud noises. It wasn’t that you hated being around them; it was just loud noises drained your social battery, and you were ready for peace and quiet."
I am R and R is me
"You don’t know why a bench was up here, crackhead Mike probably brought it up one night, but you were thankful for it."
Crack head Mike being a wingman
Bro! All my scars (there's a lot) mostly have weird stories attached to them!
Anika, I love you, but rot in hell!!! Whyd you have to break it up!? Go find a ladder or something!
"Mi amor"
The way my eyebrows leapt off my head
There's so much more that I want to comment on like how I adored all of the roof scene but I gotta go get some college work done!!!!!
P.S. referring to your response to my last ask, of course I didn't ditch you! You're my favorite Sam author! I also missed chatting with you too! I'll def be sending in my thoughts then!
-🦝
I love reading people’s analyses on my work, so thank you for doing this!!!
My favorite troop is either asshole x asshole, or the “you’re insufferable” “I know but you love it” troop!!! Those two are my favorites!
Sam is just a lovable bear who gives the best hugs!
Nah but R was definitely about to embarrass herself when she was talking about Sam’s hands 😭 drunk words are sober thoughts
That was a Ricky Bobby reference!!!
I did project a little bit when R left because of the loud noises. That stuff just drains my social battery so much
Crackhead Mike has been bringing couples together since I don’t even know how long, but he’s good at his job!
You’re foul for the ladder 😭
Good luck with your collage work!!! I hope it’s going better than mine 😭

i can see why some people may dislike elysia at a surface level (she certainly needed to grow on me just as much as she grew on mei)… i mean, its p clear what kinda demographic mhy was targeting w her character design & her cold open at the end ch25, which can definitely rub some people the wrong way
but then u get to kno her thru the elysian realm story and she… actually has in character motivation for presenting herself in such a way. she clearly wants to be loved by everyone, and her cheeky persona allows her to share the boundless love she has for everyone & everything around her w/o being all that disruptive (she rly is rather considerate, all things considered). the constant flirting can definitely get on some peoples nerves, but if you pay a little attention, u can eventually see a difference between just small-talk flirting (like w kevin, which mostly amounts to ‘i wish u sweet dreams of me’ ;P), and the actual genuine interest she shows in mei , and her feelings, and her life (…and yes, her horns).
i think the moment that finally endeared her to me was her strutting around the realm w a megaphone telling anyone that will listen that she finally got to touch the horns! bc heres a girl that knows what she wants & goes for it, and just has to share her joy w the world! and if thats not sickeningly cute & unbearably attractive at the same time, i dont kno what is.
so anyway, i forgot what started this, but enjoy my brief elysia character analysis in rebuttal to strawman nonexistent elysia haters (and yes, i did have fun w the color formatting)
Hahaha the colors did make this easier to read, too? x)
Well here’s my two cents to add onto this: Agree there’s legitimate reasons you can dislike Elysia, just like there’s legitimate reasons to dislike certain types of people. Some find loud people endearing, some find them annoying, that’s just life.
I personally don’t think her expressing how attracted she is to Mei is an issue, especially since it’s used for comedy a lot and isn’t meant to be seen as serious. Some people thinks she’s crossing Mei’s boundaries though! And that’s okay! That’s their interpretation of the text! As long as they actually read the text to know what they’re talking about, of course, I’ve got zero issue with it.
(Badmouthing a character off first meeting vibes because you skip all their dialogue would just feels like bad faith. Yaknow? If you can’t bear to read em don’t talk about what you don’t wanna know~)
But yeah like. If someone’s reading “I really want to touch her horns” as “I want to touch her d—” that would be inappropriate, so I understand some people think it’s sexual harassment.
Personally I feel like it’s closer to “I really want to touch her hair” as if Mei had a mohawk. It’s fancy and looks fun to touch! The sexual dimension is there but it’s less from what Elysia is wanting to touch and more superposed with her being attracted to Mei. You can make hair touching feel sexual if you’re flirting with the person, but it’s not the same thing as fondling them? Something like that.
There’s also the question of consent, since Elysia always asks for permission first, but you could see her insistance as pressure. It comes down to what you believe Mei thinks and feels. What I see is that she can get exasperated or embarrassed by the PDA but not really angry, so she’s probably okay with it. Someone else might think she’s given up because Elysia can’t be tamed. Both are fine way to interpret the situation since they’re based off of facts.
The important point is that we have to be aware we’re all just interpreting the text. There can be multiple valid readings! And that’s good. Diversity of angles is interesting.
Problems mostly just arise when you start going “I can’t believe ANYONE would love this character who EATS BABIES”.
Issue being, the interpretation isn’t necessarily wrong, but you’re being mean to the people who are seeing things differently and attacking their character based off your view of the story, the hurt has crossed into the real world. That’s just a no-no.
Respect is key!
