It seems my disappearance from the LiMerge building has finally been noted. It was... expected. How long did it take, between my master noticing and eventually deciding to send assassins after me?

I find myself flattered. Two score mercenaries, a quarter of them force sensitive, and a handful of them mandalorian, beskaryc. If he had come in person, I would have felt it and fled, but that he sent such a strong showing is... oddly touching.

I feel known. Thank you for the fight, my lord. They are dead.

I was rewatching Marva's monologue...

... and aside from tearing up multiple times (I had it on replay ffs) it struck me how similar the whole speech is to everything George Lucas was saying, with his own films.

"There are people out there that don't play by the rules, and if you're not careful, you're going to lose all your freedom. And at the same time those people who may not play by the rules, because they're selfish and greedy, turn themselves into evil people who don't care about others." - Star Wars Insider #138, 2013

And we already covered here that Lucas referred to selfish people, and specifically the Sith, as cancers to society, to each other, to themselves, etc. Which is why this other parallel stood out:

The Sith and the Empire are different facets of the same disease: greed.

The Sith are the ultimate selfish people, in Star Wars. They put themselves above everything. No Force sect is equal to theirs. All people are considered to be beneath them. Hell, their whole religion revolves around bending the Force itself to their will.

Crimson Reign illustrates this with a diagram too.

And most Imperial officers are very much the same way, because the Empire is fashioned in the Sith's image.

They're all self-serving and narcissistic, they're all backstabbing each other to get closer to the top, as the Sith do with the Rule of Two.

The only thing that stops Imperials from being full-fledged Sith Lords is that

they're not Force sensitives and

didn't go through the actual training,

but as far as their instincts and actions go, they may as well be.

I have not spoken of it... because I do not know what to say. Attempting to coexist with the brothers and sisters of the Singing Mountain has made it clearer to me, however, that there is a problem, and it must needs be addressed.

I struggle with words.

The way my mind bends under the stain of constant visions has created a divide between my internal world and my ability to relay it. Even simple wishes, such as expressing a desire for rest, come out of my mouth twisted as if in parable.

At one point today, I meant to express, 'I am tired, I want to sleep.'

What came out was, 'Weary bones, dragging feet, laying, lying, restful needs.'

I spout nonsense while trying to ask for a glass of water, and cringe at myself. I am not mad. I am not addled. This state is intolerable, and yet... it was even worse, away from Dathomir.

The village headman suggested practice.
