#since they have in-game canon voices unlike the twins
Note
I don’t really understand?are the twst boys Humans or not?
Hi, I think you might have been confused by the lore being explained in this post?
The Ramshackle Ghosts make mention of race, which means that human is only one of many races in Twisted Wonderland. Only 1 in 10 humans are capable of using magic; this statistic is different for other races (so magic may be more or less common for others).
A majority of the cast is human, but some of the characters are clearly not human or are referred to as being a different race. For example:
Leona, Jack, and Ruggie are beastmen. (Presumably, so are Chenya and Cheka.)
Azul, Floyd, and Jade are merfolk. Azul is an octopus merman, whereas the twins are moray eel mermen.
Malleus and Lilia are fairies. Malleus is, more specifically, some kind of (western) dragon fairy. In Fairy Gala If, Lilia is referred to as a “dark fairy”.
Sebek is half human (on his father’s side) and half nocturnal fae (on his mother’s side). Note that a lot of fan art likes to portray Sebek as part crocodile, but he is not said to be a “crocodile fairy” in canon.
Something else I’d like to add is that though the game version of TWST tends to portray beastmen as being entirely in Savanaclaw, the manga adaptation and various voice lines seem to indicate that the dorms are actually mixed. For example, in multiple panels of the Episode of Heartslabyul, we see many beastmen among the humans.
It may be more difficult to pinpoint which students are mermen (as they look no different from humans after transforming to gain legs) or fae, but based on the lore, it’s likely that these two races are less likely to mingle with humans and thus the population of merfolk/fairies at school is relatively low compared to the number of humans. Floyd says in his Beans Camo vignettes that it’s rare for merfolk to want to come up to the surface, though he doesn’t state any statistics. This made it easy for him, Azul, and Jade to sign up for a boot camp that prepares merpeople for life on land.
As for fairies, it’s been implied multiple times that they can be very isolated from others and don’t like it when their territory is encroached on. Recall that many smaller fairies attacked the boys during their camping trips, and the fairies of Fairy Gala were about to accost the students as well. The Briar Valley is a prime example of fairy isolationism and aversion to change (Sebek’s mother received social scorn for her decision to marry a human). This seems to imply that not many fairies go out of their way to interact with humans, which leads me to believe that there aren’t many fairy students attending NRC either. Plus, unlike merfolk, fairies would be easier to spot since they seem to have a shared physical trait of pointy ears (regardless of fairy subspecies). The only NPCs I can think of that are fairies are the Seven Dwarves at RSA, which are implied one of Yuu’s dialogue choices to be a short species of fairy.

Things about Sara:
(Aka my Obey Me! MC)
with a side of headcanons/au lore
She is 147cm short tall
She speaks Italian
Has no siblings
She's dating Beelzebub
She's not technically the MC from the game, since she lives in a separate timeline
She's not related to Lilith (because she's still alive in this timeline)
Because she almost died during her birth, her soul isn't fully tethered. This means that she can't form pacts or use magic, as it would kill her.
Ever since getting to the Devildom, she started getting night terrors. They only stopped after Lilith joined the exchange program in the second semester
Mostly introverted, she spends most of her time with Leviathan
Her and Leviathan are spirit twins (creatures whose "souls" were made with the same spiritual material. They're typically very hard to find because they tend to be different species. Beelzebub and Belphegor are spirit twins, and so are Asmodeus and Auriel, and Eden and Luke)
One of her biggest interests (aside from anime and videogames) is marine biology and sea monster legends. That's why she immediately tried to befriend Leviathan
She sees the three oldest as her own older brothers
The brothers that scare her the most are Satan, Asmodeus and Mammon
Joined the ALL with Satan and Belphegor (mostly because she likes to inconvenience Lucifer, she doesn't actually dislike him). Lilith joined too when she moved in
Is kind of like Chloe from Lucifer (2016) in that she was specifically made for the brothers. Even if the exchange program didn't exist and she had run into them, they wouldn't have been able/willing to hurt her
Somehow managed to make Henry 1.0 like her and kept him as her pet. If none of the brothers are able to accompany her out, she'll take him along with her because he'll try to kill anyone that comes too close to the human
She has friends outside of the main cast at RAD. Specifically Regan and Virgil, two lesser demons who have a Human World Appreciation Club at school
She has a pet black cat in the human world
Also a "pet" wild raven that she rescued after it fell out of its nest
Unlike the canon MC, she's not immune to Asmodeus's charm
Tends to hide her eyes behind her bangs. The only ones who have seen them uncovered are Beelzebub and Leviathan
Has made it a point to meet all the Avatars of Sin and Virtue
Lilith is her guardian angel
In her timeline, Belphegor didn't actually kill her, he just tried (then again so did everyone else lmao 💀)
Her mother does know about the exchange program, and pretty much accidentally became a coparent to the six younger brothers
Her parents named after the Sara from the Book of Tobit (iykyk look it up)
Her singing voice sounds like Ado
If any of the brothers yell at her or simply get too mad while she's around, she'll get nosebleeds. This always happens with Satan regardless of if he's outwardly angry or not
While she doesn't have any magic, she can astral project

I think it's fun to contrast what is depicted in Challenge Of hades with what is depicted in the animated series and see what differences were made with certain mythological things.
Right! I was talking about that a little bit from the last ask lol! Like Demeter (who had a British accent instead of an American one in the series) mentioning Persephone being kidnapped by Hades (also still not sure if she was supposed to be his daughter in that, I doubt it since Demeter said “my daughter” and not “our daughter”, so I’m assuming it was just meant to be like the OG myth where he kidnapped her to marry her) and Artemis having the movie design and voice change.
I also love that Artemis and Apollo actually mention that they’re twins unlike the series where they don’t mention it at all (maybe they weren’t meant to be twins in the series? Idk). And Artemis in the game/movie was not only goddess of the wild, but also goddess of the hunt, so she (from what she said in the game) had hunting hounds and nymph companions which is a lot different compared to Artemis in the series who cherished and protected animals so much that she punished hunters (even though she literally dated Orion who was a famous hunter lmao) for trying to hunt animals in her forest (also it’s hinted a lot that she’s sort of a “hippy” in the series that loves nature/animals and prefers vegan/vegetarian foods and offerings instead of ones that involve meat)
But yeah, it’s really nice to see the differences of the characters from the movie/game to the ones in the series. You can really see how much they changed them for the sake of the series. Honestly, I prefer the movie versions of most if not all the characters. They seem more mythologically accurate and they have better voices and designs imo. I wish the people who had made the series had kept them, but I mean, as I’ve said many times before, the show is basically canon divergent to the movie, so I guess changing the characters wouldn’t really matter if the plot doesn’t even follow movie lore lol

► VOICE REFERENCE
Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs Lovett (Sweeney Todd)
(for the record, that “what was his crime?” “Foolishness.”  was exactly what sold this as Kas’s voice for me, I could just imagine her having that exchange with Quinn after the Quinncident at some point (even tho it won’t be written in bc logistics), but I could SEE it in my brain and it has not left my thoughts since so YEAH! xD)

Winter Thorns and Iron Crowns Pt. 1
Summary: Rickard and Lyarra Stark’s twin daughters accompany their father to their first ever tourney. I’ve been writing this ever since I finished a Dance with Dragons because I need some sort of outlet for my Emotions.
Pairings: Arthur Dayne x reader (eventual), Stannis Baratheon x reader (eventual)
Disclaimer: some of the characters were never in certain places in canon and I’m aware of this, but also I adore drama and suspense so we’ll call it creative license. Also I aged everyone up by two years for Robert’s Rebellion because I cannot stand the whole sixteen-year-old-dies-in-childbirth thing, sorry! I have a whole long fic planned out but I want to see how this does first.
“Land ho!”
Y/n’s head jerked upward as the shout came from the crow’s nest. The chess game in front of her was forgotten in an instant, and she jumped up, rushing outside just behind her sister.
Both of them hastened over to the side of the ship, unheeding of their father’s cries as they caught hold of the rigging and scrambled up a ways so they could see the coastline of Shipbreaker Bay come into view.
Lyanna let out a small sound of appreciation, and Y/n’s mouth fell open at the sight of Storm’s End in the distance. The harbour was bustling with ships of all shapes and sizes, and she saw flags flapping in the wind that she’d only ever seen in books before. The main source of her awe, however, was the large fortress atop the cliffs overlooking the harbour. It was smaller than Winterfell, sure, but few castles were bigger, and the thick walls and singular tower made it look like something out of a fairytale. It was something out of a fairytale. Y/n had made her mother tell her the story of the Storm king and the ocean’s daughter at least five times before they had left, ignoring Lyanna’s rolling eyes as she listened. She’d also had her mother tell her again and again how big the library in the castle was, almost buzzing with anticipation.
“Lyanna and Y/n Stark!” Their father’s booming voice shocked both of them out of their awestruck contemplation of the coast.
“Get down here this instant!”
They did, and endured a gruff speach about acting like proper emassaries from the North whilst they guested in lord Steffon’s halls. They glanced at each other, and managed to look sufficiently humbled, because their father turned around to speak with the captain of their boat. He did not see the face Lyanna pulled at his back.
The boat had taken them all the way down the eastern coast of Westeros from Whiteharbour. Y/n decided she would miss it dearly, being woken up by the gulls in the morning, feeling the breeze on her face as she and Lyanna scurried up and down the lines, learning knots and sailing from the crew. The things she would miss most, however, were the stories. While Lyanna was in the captain’s cabin with their father, learning how to read a map or use his intruments, she would sit for hours in the crow’d nest, making the lookout tell her all the landmarks they passed. And at night, when she could not sleep, sometimes the crew would gather around the fire and tell stories to each other, even singing softly when they would.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Please, Ned!”
“Lya, I’ve told you, father said that the two of you have to stay here and work on your lessons, and then do needlework with lady Cassana and her ladies,” their brother answered.
Y/n was about to open her mouth to object, but Lyanna’s shrill protest came first.
“But we hunt with father all the time at home! I’m a better shot than you are!”
Ned’s face seemed to harden for a moment in a way that was quite unlike him.
“I won’t tell you again, Lya, and if you keep whinging I will call father over.”
“It’s all your fault!” Lyanna hissed at Y/n when Ned had left and they were walking dejectedly back to their lessons.
“My fault?”
“Yes! You are a terrible shot! He would have let me go if not for you.”
“Perhaps he would have let you go if you were not so horrible to be around- “
“Oh, believe me,” Lyanna said, folding her arms and striding off down the hallway, “I’m not the one who is horrible to be around.”
Y/n stopped in her tracks, wanting to shout back something that would hurt her sister even more, but none came to mind, and instead of following Lyanna down the hall, she sank down against the wall.
Second best again.
Lyanna had always been particularly good at finding the words that would hurt her the most. Her father said it came from being sisters, but Y/n thought, secretly, that perhaps it was just her sister.
Well, Y/n would not give her the satisfaction of trailing after her like a wounded dog, not this time.
Instead, she got to her feet and set off in the opposite direction, intending to find this incredible library, intending for at least some good to come out of this retched day. Storm’s End was much smaller than Winterfell, and the seaward side of the castle had thicker walls than she’d ever seen, to guard against the storms that blew in from Shipbreaker Bay.
But when it was not raining, there was so much sunshine!
Before long she was close to running down the curving halls of the castle and her anger had mostly faded in the face of her excitement. Lyanna would be so angry when she found out Y/n had spent the whole day in the library instead of doing her lessons or drinking tea.
At the end of a long corridor she turned a corner and ran straight into something solid that sent her sprawling to the floor.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stannis sat up from where he had fallen, trying to see what had knocked into him so hard.
It was one of the Stark girls.
They had all been introduced to one another two days ago when the Starks had arrived, along with Ned and Robert.
“Goodness!” Maester Cressen exclaimed as Stannis got up. The man held a hand out to the girl on the floor.
“Are you alright, lady Stark?”
He didn’t ask Stannis whether he was alright, the boy thought sourly.
The Stark girl took the Maester’s hand tentatively. On her right cheek, four thick red scars ran down from just below her eye to her jaw, narrowly missing the corner of her mouth.
“Yes,” she said, “Forgive me, my lord, I was not looking where I was going.”
Stannis nodded his forgiveness, but then caught the stare that Maester Cressen was giving him.
“That’s... quite alright,” he said. He saw the girl’s mouth twitch slightly.
She wasn’t that much younger than him, maybe seven or eight. Stannis had just turned nine.
“Well, my lady,” the Maester said, sighing slightly, “my name is Maester Cressen.”
“Y/n Stark,” she said, dropping into a quick curtsy.
Again, he was stared at by Maester Cressen, and he reluctantly said, “Stannis Baratheon,” with a nod at her.
This time she smiled fully, her eyes shone as she did.
“I was under the impression that the women would spend the day with my mother,” he said, before Maester Cressen could stare him into another conversation.
“I- “ she stopped, looking sheepish. “My sister Lyanna and I were trying to convince our brother to let us go on the hunt, but it didn’t work,” she said. A dark look passed over her face, but vanished almost as quickly.
“I was looking for the library...” she trailed off, looking at the Maester hopefully.
“Apparently it’s breathtaking.”
“Well, what a coincidence,” Maester Cressen said, making Stannis groan inwardly.
“Lord Stannis and I were just heading toward the library to finish his lessons for the day, if you would care to join us?”
Her face lit up, eyes shining.
“Oh thank you ever so much, Maester!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No doubt she had thought she would be given free range of the shelves.
Stannis could have warned her that Maester Cressen would never pass up an oppertunity for education. It was a strange quality in the man that he didn’t seem to realise when people were girls or boys, and Y/n Stark had no use for learning about battles of military strategy.
To her credit, however, she sat through the entire morning without complaining once, and only looked longingly at the shelves or windows a few times. She even answered some of Maester Cressen’s questions better than he could, especially on the lineages of different families.
Every now and again she would laugh at a jest Maester Cressen would try and make, and her smile reminded him of his mother in the way her eyes lit up with mirth.
“Well, lord Stannis, that seems to be all I have for you today,” the Maester said.
“Thank you, Maester,” he said dutifully.
“Thank you for letting me join you,” Y/n said, smiling gratefully at both of them.
“Of course,” Maester Cressen smiled back. “Stannis, perhaps you could escort the lady back to her rooms?”
The look he gave Stannis said that there actually was no perhaps about it. He so wished the man would stop assuming he was like Robert. He knew his duties.
He nodded, and held out an arm to Y/n. She took it, that little smile playing over her lips again. Her cheeks dimpled when she smiled, the left perfectly, the right slightly contorted because of the scars.
The second the were out of the door, however, she let go of his arm, which he was grateful for. He disliked touching people.
“This way,” he said, turning and taking her toward the guest rooms.
They walked in silence for a while.
“Thank you, my lord,” she eventually said.
He grunted.
“Really,” she insisted, “I don’t know what I would have done if I had to sot and do needlework all day.”
“You sat and learned history all day,” he said.
“At least it was something new,” she said, smiling at him.
He frowned.
“Needlework is fine,” she explained, seeming to know he was at a loss. “For a while. History is fine, for a while. Riding and hawking and running are all fine, until they become too monotonous,” she added when she caught him looking at her sideways.
He frowned again. He’d never thought of it that way. There was just what he was supposed to be doing and what he wasn’t supposed to be doing. They spoke little back to the Stark quarters, yet when he bowed to her father, returned by now from the hunt, and she offered him a sheepish smile which only slightly disguised her very obvious trepidation at him leaving, he found himself smiling back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/n had never been good at speaking to people.
Her mind wanders too much, her mother would say sadly, how will she ever find a husband if she cannot speak to suitors, Rickard?
With the beauty she begot from her mother, my darling, her father would say and then both of her parents would smile slightly, knowing full well that Y/n looked like neither of them and that Lyanna was the prettier twin.
The daughters of some of the lords at their father’s disposal had never wasted time pointing it out, and calling her Scarface, and worse names, and though it hurt Y/n enough that she would sometimes shed tears over it, she had never worried overly much about finding a husband. She had always assumed her father would arrange a match eventually, and if he didn’t... well it wasn’t like it would be the worst thing in the world.
Lyanna always yelled at the girls who made fun of her anyway. According to her sister, no one was allowed to make fun of Y/n. She usually said this right before an argument started and Lyanna started calling her by the same names.
She preferred books to having to speak, because she’d already had three thoughts by the time most people had said a sentence, and by then she couldn’t remember what it was she had wanted to say when the conversation began. In books people never had scars, and everyone was kind and valiant, and no one ever forgot what they wanted to say. Some people even understood each other without having to speak.
So, she mainly kept to herself, her books, and her horse and falcon. Exploring the lands and woods around Winterfell, sometimes with Lyanna or Bran, whenever he was home, but mostly alone.
Stannis, however... they hadn’t spoken much on the way back to her rooms. She would comment on something about the Keep, which fascinated her enough that she could get past her natural shyness, and he would look at her sideways until she clarified. Then he would offer a short explanation, and they would be back to companionable silence.
She’d never had a companionable silence with anyone but her siblings, and now with this strange, lanky, boy with the darkest blue eyes she had ever seen.

Some random headcanons about Fëanorions and domesticated animals in Beleriand
(These are partly based on canon, partly on fanon, as well as stuff I made up on my own)
Himring is too cold for most animals to prosper. The fortress does have stables, which house enough war horses for a small but efficient cavalry. The people of Himring also raise goats, who are well suited to the mountain and its climate, for their milk or even for their meat. This is mainly intended as a last resort resource, however. In times of peace, Maedhros relies on his brothers to provide him with meat, wool, leather and other animal-based products.
Maedhros also raises various birds of prey, for hunting and to carry messages safely, and also because they fit his aesthetic. He has managed to domesticate a couple of great condors, of which he is very proud. They are used only for his most important correspondence (i.e. letters to Fingon), because even if Morgoth has many spies among birds, most would think twice before approaching a beast with a ten-feet wingspan.
Maglor had many song birds in Valinor; he even tried to bring his favorite parrot to Middle-Earth (the one that best imitated his voice), but it died of stress during the crossing on the ships. He had not found any satisfactory replacement in Beleriand.
The Gap is renowned for its horses; its cavalry is the key of its defence, and the defence of the lands beyond. Maglor’s Gap, however, is also quite suited to cattle farming, because of its large flat meadows. All through the land, large cow herds can be found, looked after by Maglor’s people on horseback (did I say Elf-cowboys? You decide).
Celegorm, of course, has massive kennels for his dogs, as well as a number of falcons and other hunting birds; he also has decent stables, although most of his horses originally come from the Gap and are often sent back there for mating. Himlad is surrounded by wooded areas, with an abundance of game (Celegorm makes sure no Orc is hunting on his lands). It is thus unsuited for cattle, unlike the Gap. However, Celegorm is also raising a number of pigs, which can provide his dogs with the necessary meat, during the winter, and can be sent over to Maedhros as supplies (salted pork keeps well and is very nourishing). The pigs are also used to find truffles in the woods.
Curufin and Celebrimbor have no particular interest in animal husbandry; even if Curufin recognizes the importance of having decent horses and the advantages of pig farming, he wants nothing to do with it and is too happy to leave it to his brother. Celebrimbor likes to play with Huan from time to time, but that’s about it. In any case, their forges are barred to anything that walks on more than two legs (and even those on two legs, if they happen to be Celegorm; he has a reputation for clumsiness around the fires…).
Thargelion has a great number of sheeps (and other similar animals) that are raised for their wool. There are many skilled smiths and metal workers in Beleriand, both among Dwarves and Elves, but Caranthir is playing on his strengths, and his lands have become not only a crossroad for trade, but a major center for textile. He even has silkworms, which were discovered and given to him originally by Amrod.
Thargelion’s storehouses are always full of wool, fabric or grains, and that of course attracts rodents, so Caranthir keeps many cats to hunt them out. The problem is that he is too fond of them and always spoils them by giving them treats and leftovers from his own plate. As a result, the cats are usually not very interested in prowling the storehouses and prefer to hang around their master. Caranthir bemoans this state of thing but does not change his behaviour at all.
The twin’s lands are also famous for their horses, though not quite as good as Maglor’s Gap in that respect. Amras is very traditional in his interests: like a good elvish princeling, he likes horses as well as dogs and falcons for the hunt. Amrod is a bit more unusual: he has an interest in all kinds of bugs, and he often experiments with them. He discovered the properties of the silkworms and gave them to Caranthir (since he lacked the skills to do anything with the silk himself). He has a great number of bee hives, which he tends to himself. He has figured out the bees have a language and is trying to find a way to use that for spying and for sending secret messages.

Current emotional status: FEAR
Cthulu Max has been on the rampage for a whole week!?
Ew, the narrator
Oh man, are they sending the airforce after him?
I really like Cthulu Max's design
Momma Bosco 💗
Oh hey, Norrington and Papierwaite are alive.
Superball are you saying you tried to send the Maimtrons up Max's--
Also he's acting president while Max is... deposed of.
Superball is only giving Sam until 6am :(
Featherly!
"Wandering around the moleman tunnels is no fun without Max."
"You got it all wrong, we're trying to help Max." "We will help him... to a generous serving of ass whooping."
"That is one rabbit who will be multiplied... into 2,000 smoldering pieces."
Carol ran off with Blustet
"I only want her to be happy, is all." Aw, Curt
Superball just admitted to having separation anxiety from Max
Ok Momma can't come but Papierwaite and Norringron can.
I like Norrington :)
GASP
Is it?
It is!
SYBIL!!!!
RETURN OF THE QUEEN
Oh, she is very pregnant
She was a wizard at one point?
She's gonna help!
Superball there's no such thing as acceptable losses
Abe has his body back
"Four score and seven tons of raw power"
HE CAN FLY NOW!?
Sybil, I love you, but why did you mod someone else's car???
Grandpa Stinky I love you
Oh, he just handed us the recipe for once.
Asdfff the spore maxes swarming Grandpa
They stole Grandpa's hotdogs
"We must feed the host! Piglets and sphinkters make us stronger!" "We regret nothing!"
Grandpa hasn't slept in three years
Sam just casually taking the last of Grandpa's corndogs
The spores are trying to get it
Lol Sam slapped them
Sal's alive!
He's hiding from Sam :(
Lol we can control Cthulu Max with Corndogs
Ew, the cornstarch got mixed in with the giant puddle 🤢 Looks gross
Love how Sybil completely ignores the Flaming Max head
Also the look of disappointment on the spore's face made me laugh
Fifth trimester???
The way the one Max spore by Grandpa's truck is bobbing in circles with his mouth open is making me laugh.
Sam showing concern for Sybil because she’s preggers 🥺
Her being pregnant with Abe's child implies that statues have working genital in this universe
She put a weiner scented airfreshener in the desoto
At least Sam and a Max spore seem to like that (of course they do)
"Sybil you're the best!" Hell yeah she is!
Sam's mind went to the color bar codes to prevent being traumatized by Sybil's oversharing
We drowned the desoto
Asdfgh Sam just botched slapped one of the spores for trying to say "that's none of your damn buisness."
Ew, Max's spine is pointing out
Oh hey, Satan and Jurgen
Why is Jurgen wearing his old fashioned clothes instead of his emo clothes?
Lol Sam snuck into frame to shout "Go Mets! New York rules!"
"--besides it's just a good and noble thing to do." "You're not familiar with my previous work, are you?"
"Sam, what happened to you to make you so cynical?" Gee, Jurgen, I wonder what could have possibly happened.
Oh so the water tower counts as vegetable oil because Momma did something to it
Pfft we can replace Satan's microphone with a corndog
Omg they jumped off the building to avoid Max
Oh, they're fine, and the oil is in the giant puddle.
I'm thankful to Featherly for giving us an egg but I'd have preferred not to watch him lay it. Granted it was just in a cartoon way but he still made weird noises
Also TRANS FEATHERLY 2021
"I desperately wanted to see that, sir. Ask him if he'll lay another one."
Oh hey, the Flaming Max heads helped heat up the giant desoto corndog
Since I'm playing this in 2021 the Maimtron's song references are super dated, which defeats Superball's efforts
Oooh! A unique opening sequence???
Oh this music is jazzy af
Sam really doesn't like the Max spores
Sam how do you already know what Max's insides look like???
"Even when he's not a collasal monster Max's food comas can last for weeks."
Ok we wake Max up with the coffee beans, right?
Yup!
The gi Max spore is so sad he doesn't get to come 😢
"But I'm a horrible monster!"
"I suppose Max's brain always looks like a living room?" "Well, Max is host to all kinds of weird parasites, and he likes to he a good host!" WHAT
No really, this brings up so many questions about lagomorphs. Are they some kind of Symbiote or something?
And a previous episode confirmed Max is amphibious
Max has tumors!!!
It shocked Sam!
"Eugh! Get away fake Max!" "Do you find my warmth... alarming, Sam?"
"What do nightmares taste like, anyway?" "Pepsi"
Max wants to be author 💗
He also writes fanfiction about Flint 🤣
I'd unironically read his books.
Tina Belcher voice: Friend fiction
Max has an experimental fusion jazz band???
"He just killed a great white shark--"
Max being completely unable to describe a woman is very gay of him. Good for him.
Max's brain teleported everyone to different parts of the body.
Found Sybil in the gym/legs
The brain is broadcasting Sam's thoughts???
Sam couldn't think of a joke for the medicine balls :(

Pfft we have to play twister to control his arma
The brain is messing with things again
Oh, we need a roach to operate the game because of radiation

Super Ego waved goodbye
Cthulu Max is cute when he cries
Wait What?
His head is on fire!
The maimtron hit him!
He waved goodbye... and teleported away.
He exploaded!!!!
He promised he'd take Sam with him and he didn't!!!!
AAAAAAH
I thought the dead Max thing was popular angst fanon fic thingy!
We're cloning Max?
It didn't work 😭😭😭😭😭
Superball ran off crying
Oh God the credits are just Sam walking sadly what the hell
He's not even stopping to fight any crime 😢
💔💔💔
God the way he's clinging to himself
What?
The elevator???
MAAAAX
he's back???
Past Max???
He blew his Sam up???
Wait hold on I'm glad they're together again but this doesn't fix anything
There's so much trauma from this season
All the horrible things that happened during 301-304 happened in like 3 days tops, then Sam had to deal with Max being a monster for a week before watching him die!
And the new (?) Max had BLOW HIS SAM UP!!!
And they left the franchise like that for a decade????
What the hell?
I want to be happy but this shit is going to consume my brain for the next week at least what the hell
Aaaaaaah!
Like maybe they really do just brush it off but it feels unlikely
I know Max has a connection with his other selves so it'll be easier for him to adjust but certainly Sam is going to notice the discrepancies since he doesn't get the same deal
Someone told me there were multiple endings hold on
Aw, they walked off into the sunrise together
But still
AAAAAAAAH

Ways me & Submas are similar
Tumblr media
Guys I’m not sorry, I gotta self indulge (and answer the question for myself of which twin I relate to more). Also I should note that while I am going to try and stick strictly to canon facts about Submas, some of these will somewhat veer into headcanon territory.
I will include links at the end to a couple of posts by someone who talks in detail about Ingo and Emmet’s personality in the context of them being autistic. This is by no means me suggesting I self dx (tho if you’re a self dxer reading it you’re totally seen and valid!), it’s just that their post includes a lot of references around their personality that I touch on in this post. So if you’re not sure what I’m talking about when I mention an aspect of Submas in a specific piece of media, chances are these posts will include them.
Spoilers for PLA ahead
(Also a few of the points are mildly venty)
Ingo
1. Flat facial expressions
This is mostly covered in Pokémon Masters and the Adventures manga, but Ingo isn’t the best at expressing himself facially. In Pokémas he expresses to the player that he has been told he looks very stern and is shocked when the player tells him that they have never seen him smile.
If I’m deep in thought, I’ll often get someone ask if I’m okay, I guess because I look sad when I’m not rly trying to mask. I also have a specific memory of sitting with my brothers for a picture and trying my best to smile, but my mum told me to smile anyways. I told her I was and one of my brothers told me I needed to stop being depressing. It wasn’t that I was sad (although I don’t particularly like being in photos), it’s just that I can’t really smile on command. I have to be genuinely happy to smile or else I have very awkward expression.
Also this is a side point, but I am bad at showing my emotions I think? For example, if you give me a gift, I have to strain myself to feign excitement. I will usually try and over express in my voice because I’m aware my face probably doesn’t really scream gratitude. I’m not sure if this is more tied to my depression though as it can take quite a bit to get me excited, though I did tear up from happiness when I got my Pokémon Time Sneasel plush so I have no idea. (Please look at pictures of the plush btw, it’s cute as hell- )
2. Loud when excited
Again, Pokémas is the main source of showing this, but when Ingo is excited, he yells “Braavo! Excellent!” very loudly.
Not really much to elaborate on here, but I often get told by my mum to be quiet cuz when I’m excitable (particularly if I’m talking about something that interests me), I start getting loud without realising it.
3. Talk too much about my interests
This is something that both twins share, but Ingo talks a lot about trains, especially when you consider him in Pokémas. I know I keep going back to that game but man does it give us a lot of cool tidbits about the twins.
I struggle a lot with small talk (I’ll touch on this later) but if you ask me a question about something I love and I feel comfortable that you won’t judge me, I will absolutely talk for a long time about such thing. This doesn’t happen much in real life since I hide most of my interests, but as a kid I know I annoyed myself friends because I would often talk about things I liked that they honestly didn’t care or ask about. In a way I’m jealous of Ingo and Emmet because they have each other to talk to about their interests and so aren’t ashamed of it. As for me, I have been unintentionally conditioned by those around me to believe that talking about what I like will make people hate me, so I don’t often get to pop off unless it’s online. Heck, this post is arguably me popping off about an interest.
4. Expressive language to compensate
Unlike Emmet who speaks stiffly (again, coming back to this later), Ingo speaks very formally when he speaks. It’s more apparent in the Japanese translations, but even in the English versions of the BW games, Ingo speaks in much longer sentences and with a more formal tone compared to his brother.
I don’t tend to speak that way because often times in too anxious to go “off script” (another thing I’ll elaborate later), but in terms of written speech, I tend to write a lot more formally in order to give the appearance of maturity. This doesn’t just apply to writing to places like the doctors but also just people in real life. Especially if I’m not comfortable with them, I will often speak in a very “retail person” esc manner - that is to say I try to be friendly and palatable while distancing myself personally in order to seem like a nice person. It’s not that I would say I’m a jerk, it’s just that I’m a lot more goofy and dorky when I don’t put effort into what I’m saying.
5. Speaking in references and puns
This is again something both twins do, but Ingo uses train puns in his everyday vocabulary. This is something that is true across all pieces of media and it just shows how much Ingo (and Emmet) loves trains.
I don’t make train puns, but I definitely do pick up quotes and mannerisms from fictional characters. At school I once said “I’m going to need some more popcorn” as a reference to MLP and to my surprise someone actually picked up on it. I can’t really think of any recent examples of using references in real life, but online I like to try and incorporate things from sources I like. I have started to say “verrry” in messages online and I’m also trialling “cool cool cool”, as a reference to the tv show Community. (If any irl examples come to mind, I’ll edit this section, but I don’t really speak to many people irl and when I do, I try to mask my personality as mentioned earlier.)
Emmet
1. Monotonous speech
I think it’s a bit easier to tell from Emmet’s English lines in Pokémas, but unlike Ingo who is very excitable and expressive in his voice, Emmet seems a lot more subdued. It’s not that he isn’t excited - in fact his facial expressions and body language scream the opposite - but he is a bit more monotonous when he speaks. And though it’s a bit reaching into headcanon territory, it seems possible that Emmet likely tries to “tone down” his excitement so to speak, which may also explain why he isn’t always vocally expressive. (Here’s his Pokémas English voice lines btw.)
If I’m not deliberately putting effort into sounding expressive, I tend to sound quite flat in the way that I speak. It probably doesn’t help much either that I have a rather deep voice. It’s not something I really care about, but when I did a stream a few weeks back on Discord, I did ask later in the stream whether I sounded more feminine or masculine and they said my voice could be interpreted as somewhat neutral. I guess that doesn’t rly mean monotonous, but I definitely sound more “girly” and expressive when I am making an effort to seem social and friendly as opposed to just being myself.
2. Social scripts
In the main series games, Emmet has a very formulated way of speaking. He even says himself that what he says and does doesn’t change, most likely because he scripts what he wants to say so that he is equipped for social situations.
I social script a lot. I often play out situations in my head and try to think of what to say in a variety of different outcomes. And when I speak on the phone, even for very short and simple calls, I often write out a script so that I know what to say as I get very stressed about saying the wrong thing. Even when I don’t expressly have a written script, I tend to repeat certain set phrases in situations. At work, I’d always greet customers with a “hiya”. I did a few times try to change it to “good morning” or “hello”, but I would often chicken out as it felt uncomfortable somehow to switch my greeting. Also, just the other day on the phone, when the doctor was telling me something I kept saying “thank you, that would be really helpful” every time she said what she was going to do to help me. I was aware I was repeating myself, but I couldn’t think of another way to express what I wanted to say.
3. Stimming is verrry fun!!
This is one of those instances where I veer a little into headcanon territory, but a few canon things that Emmet does can be interpreted as stimming. One example is how he walks in the manga. He swings his arms widely as he walks, which is most likely a stim. Him saying “verrry” could also be a sort of verbal stim or tic as well. And although the pointing pose he does with his either is actually a point and call method that train conductors use, some people have pointed out it’s actually quite a fun way to stim.
I don’t really walk like that - in fact my way of walking usually involves me either holding onto my bag straps, fiddling with my hands or doing the good all Raptor Hands ™ because holding my hands by my side feels unnatural to me. But I do stim in other ways! Much like the fandom interpretation of Emmet, I often flap my hands when I am excited, although usually when I notice myself doing it I stop myself. (I’ve had this stim for as long as I can remember, but I never knew what it was and part of me just thought it was silly, so I am now in the habit of stopping myself when I notice I’m flapping my hands.) I also clench my fists and shake them if I’m watching something intense and getting excitable over it. Then there’s other things like fidgeting with my hands, singing, doing a little dance, etc.
4. Losing a brother
I should probably immediately clarify that my brother is alive and well! What I’m speaking of is a metaphorical loss. While we don’t know what Emmet is going through as we haven’t seen anything canon about how he’s coping, how long Ingo has been missing from his life, whether he knows where Ingo is, etc, there’s a lot we can learn about Emmet from other sources. We know from multiple official sources that Emmet looks up to his brother a lot. He constantly praises his brother.
While I actually have two older brothers in real life, I remember being closest to my older brother, so this point is about him. He was the one who looked out for me, who would help me when I was stressed. I looked up to him so much and loved him to bits. But then when he moved out and got married, it almost felt as if he left the family. My family and I rarely get to see him and he doesn’t make much of an effort to reach out to me, either. I remember distinctly looking up at him once and my brain didn’t register his face as familial anymore. It feels like he is an acquaintance now, which is probably reflected a lot in how I talk to him. It’s formal and scripted, much like how I talk to people I’m unfamiliar with. Logically I know he’s my brother, but with my lack of object permanence I have for people and the fact I rarely interact with him anymore, it feels like he’s not my brother anymore. For those who have watched MLP (or even those that haven’t), an appropriate way to sum up how I feel is something Twilight said; “I could have gained a sister, but instead I just lost a brother.”
- x -
Well that was a lot longer than I expected oops. That’s what happens when I’m allowed to pop off about Submas and myself I suppose! Hopefully this was at least interesting to read? But let’s be honest, this is mostly self indulgence to compare myself to and project my own personality onto this beautiful dorks.
Also, I apologise for ending it on a really depressing note, so if you need a pick me up, please read the amazing posts below! It’s a really good analysis of the autistic traits that the twins exhibit and a lot of the points are things I mentioned/referenced in this post.

This whole thing came from the single thought of “Wait, can I think of a single fic where Roman is actually a prince?” which was followed with “What if Roman was the Faerie Prince in LAOFT?” The thought wouldn’t leave me be until I wrote it down, and I figured, hey, since I wrote it down, might as well share it. (I think everyone here is sympathetic, because that’s how we roll.)
Now, without further ado, I give you… LAOFT role swap au headcanons!
In which Roman and Remus were Lords of the Forest until a mortal witch came between them. Roman, who had always views the humans as nothing more than, say, characters in a story (small and rather unimpressive), learns one, to never piss off a teenager with a sharp tongue, and two, the meaning of ~friendship~ when a somewhat cocky witch strolls into their forest. Remus, who rarely showed interest in humans aside from the occasional “game,” becomes worried that this witch is going to take his brother from him (be that by the witch betraying Roman, or by Roman choosing his human sister over his faerie brother), and acts accordingly, which, for Remus, probably means a murder attempt or four. Furious that his brother attempted to harm his friend, Roman retaliates. Unlike in LAOFT, where Dee uses trickery to incapacitate Virgil, Remus goes for more of a blunt-force route (see: their first canonical interaction, where Remus hits Roman over the head with a morningstar). Roman is put in the casket though one method or another. Remus probably viewed the whole thing as a prank or sorts, where Roman would be out of the picture until the witch was long gone, and problem solved. Greta, however, may not have gotten that memo, and goes ahead with the deal to awaken Roman. This, to Remus, is where the prank evolves into a game.
We pick up a century-or-so later to meet Patton and his “twin,” Thomas (I’m just switching around the six sides, and leaving everyone else where they were, for the most part). Pat is just the sweetest soul ever, but most are too leery to come anywhere near him.
Exception number one is Virgil, the boy who was blessed by a fairy to have a charming voice. However, something happened (insert angst), and poor V accidentally weaponized his gift (see: tempest tongue), resulting in lots of anxiety and being generally quiet out of fear of hurting someone (instead of using qualifiers to avoid telling people to do things, like LAOFT Pat does, Virgil just doesn’t really say anything at all). Upon learning that Patton is immune to his curse, the two became inseparable.
Exception number two is (one of my favorite concepts in Sanders Sides fics ever: Feral Logan) Logan, the witch’s great-great grandson, who lives with his grandmother and probably already knows all about witchery and will not hesitate to hex someone who acts rudely to his two best friends seven ways from Sunday. Logan stumbled upon Roman when he was younger and decided that awakening the sleeping prince would be a perfect test of his magic. Logan views magic as another type of science, and loves to test all sorts of hypotheses, which is… stressful for any and all other parties involved.
Remus, meanwhile, is doing a wonderful dance of denial. Does his miss his brother? Pshhh, absolutely not! That’s crazy! He’s having a grand old time ruling the first by himself, if you can call what he’s doing “ruling.” Remus doesn’t really put much effort into controlling the fair folk, so they do steal the occasional human from the woods, but he doesn’t actively encourage messing with the humans. (We still have the same dragon-witch-monster-ghost, who is desperately looking for Roman.) Remus might even be a little afraid of the mortals, though he’d never admit it. This may be one of the reasons whatever faerie who gave Virgil his gift wouldn’t be allowed to see him— why give the humans more power then they already have?
Janus I’m not really sure about, but I am gonna pretty much ignore LAOFT’s Dee because I want sympathetic!Janus (that reads kinda rudely, sorry, I do really love how you wrote him, but I’m in a sympathetic!Janus sort of mood)— maybe he’s one of Remus’s knights. Maybe he’s Virgil’s fairy godfather. Who knows? He’s Janus, he can do what he wants.
Plot wise, I’m not sure how much would change. I don’t think Logan would make a deal resulting in the Day/Night split— maybe Virgil would? If we go with that, we’ve got V running about with the faeries at night (that explains the eyeshadow, haha)(though that would open up some questions and plot holes about his gift/curse/blessing/whatever), and him letting Roman out (maybe this follows the magic sword thing from The Darkest Part of the Forest as opposed to your spider-shawl)(which, personally, I think is so much cooler). Roman then goes to Logan, and the two of them collect Patton and Virgil, who’d just come back from the revel? I’m not sure how it’d end, but probably with Roman and Remus getting along, Greta going to rest, true love saves the day, etc. etc.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed reading my mess of a “What if.” I really, thoroughly, truly loved reading LOAFT, and I get excited every time I get an email to tell me there’s been an update. Thanks for making such a cool series!
(Also, it’s worth mentioning that I’d never heard of The Darkest Part of the Forest before reading LAOFT. I borrowed it from my local library to read, and I don’t think you’ll ever understand how disappointed I was when there were not any witches, haha.)

Baby: A Security Breach Theory
Before I start, there are spoilers for Fazbear Frights: The Cliffs and the State of Play Security Breach trailer.
I want to discuss a few things I’ve seen hardly mentioned, specifically regarding Baby and her role in SB.
I have some hope William will return, actually...
(Edit: I've added some things since the initial post.)
First of all. I didn’t discover this, someone on twitter pointed it out weeks ago. While most people think the hand at the end of the SB trailer shows a Nightmare animatronic, someone noticed it’s somewhat similar to ScrapBaby:
Also keep in mind that The Cliffs was originally supposed to release AFTER Security Breach, but due the virus and expanding the game, the game was delayed while the book released on schedule.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I didn’t put too much thought into this, after all... why would Baby still be around? Why the glowing purple light signaling “Hey, this is obviously William Afton”?
But then The Cliffs came out. The Baby stand-in, Eleanor, is featured in the epilogue. She’s described as a long-necked, female endoskeleton. (Don’t ask me why she isn’t masquerading in Sara’s body still).
I think the hand at the end of the SB trailer IS some form of Baby. The purple light isn’t so much a red herring as it is showing, in my interpretation, Baby’s desire to make her father proud (see her FNAF 6 true ending line: “I’ll make you proud, Daddy!”) I won’t say it necessarily shows William’s influence over her; I mean, all fathers have some presence in their daughter’s lives.
I said off the bat the voice at the end of the trailer is Elizabeth. I still think it sounds like her, not the nightguard.
I think Elizabeth will reappear as the endo in SB and not only is SHE the one truly trying to revive Glitchtrap (possibly as the AlmagAfton, OR, whatever comes after Trash Rabbit in the FF books-- we don’t know yet). I know it’s canon that William chose Vanny, but hear me out.
Remember Elizabeth and Charlie’s relationship in the novels? I think this will parallel that! Elizabeth and Vanny could both have a sibling rivalry for William’s attention... I think there will be a rivalry here. I think this could be even more amazing if combined with my Vanny/Vanessa twins theory. Maybe William is using Vanny just to coerce Elizabeth. There’s many ways it could go.
But why feature Baby so prominently? I am unaware of Scott having any daughters. I think characters like Charlie/Charlotte, Baby/Elizabeth, Susie, ect are kind of living a fantasy-- HOWEVER, this is just a thought. A presumptuous one. I just think it’s worth noting when examining the creator’s mindset. I could be wrong and I don’t want to make assumptions.
I think the last thing I wanna say about this all is... where would William even go, presuming he’s dead at the end of The Cliff’s epilogue? Would he go to Hell for real? Is his spirit lost on earth and therefore able to be brought back? Has he taken refuge in EndoBaby? (Unlikely, considering the implications...)
I think EndoBaby will bring back William a... er, fourth time? (This is something after Glitchtrap/AlmagAfton, IMO, something we haven’t seen yet)
Concluding, I don’t have answers for Scrapbaby, or elements of Baby being present EXCEPT the chip that Michael took--which, you’d presume was burned/melted or ScrapBaby already held it in FNAF 6. In the FF epilogues we got The Puppet, who presumably burned too. So it’s not impossible that someone or something saved her from the fire. There’s even the theory that all the scrap/burned parts were retrieved for PizzaPlex’s museum elements to consider. (Although I’m still salty if this is true, considering Michael and Henry basically got yeeted into the fire and forgotten and their journey was meaningless.)
Thoughts?
Also, just search “fnaf theory” under my blog for other theories I’ve done. =:3

Top 10 favorite things about TFS?
Bold of you to assume I can narrow it down to just 10 things, but I’ll try my best.
Here’s a list of things I LOVE about The Final Season of TWDG, starting from #10 and working my way down to #1.
10. Rosie is best girl and doesn’t die
Listen, okay? If you give me a game with a doggo companion that I bond with only to have said doggo die for dramatic effect... you automatically lose 2 outta 5 stars on your rating. Case in point: Season 2.
However, tfs knew not to kill Rosie off for dramatic effect, knew it’d be cheap. Plus, Rosie is a sweetheart and I love that she helps Clementine come to terms with her past trauma with dogs and genuinely bonds with her. Rosie is best girl.
9. Over the shoulder camera/controls
They’re the best of the series, having come a LONG way since S1. Like, look... Don’t get me wrong. S1 isn’t unplayable or anything, far from it, but they’re not the greatest either. They’re pretty wonky at times, the fixed camera can get annoying when you’re moving around, and sometimes button presses don’t register. It’s definitely something I have to get used to whenever I go back and replay the entire series, and like I said, it’s not the worst controls in the world... but oh man, compared to TFS?
Have you ever played S1 and then jumped straight into TFS just to get a direct comparison of the two? Because I have and it’s jarring how much smoother, accurate, and overall better everything is in TFS.
Just... props, guys. Thank you for the over-the-shoulder, movable camera, thank you for the polished button prompts, and thank you for a run button that has Clementine go into a nice jog rather than a comical run or, eh... does nothing [lookin’ at you ANF... Javi slow].
It’s just so effortless to play. The most trouble I ever have is with doors but that’s a given- Doors make no goddamn sense in this series and I’ve given up trying to learn their secrets. Oh, and speaking of more improvements!
The shooting mechanic in this game is leaps better than in S1. Y’all remember the Motor-Inn shootout? The one that was such a frustrating pain in the ass?? So much death and anger...
I still die sometimes when shooting the walkers with the bow, especially the ones that are on fire, but it’s nothing compared to the shooting mechanic in S1, so the biggest THANK YOU for that one. It’s actually enjoyable to shoot stuff this time around.
8. Collectibles
You as Clementine get to pick up various collectibles to decorate her and AJ’s dorm with and it’s great. One of my favorite bits about this game is seeing Clementine wake up in this empty, lifeless room, and see it get brighter and brighter with every collectible you place throughout the game until you reach the final scene with AJ where the room is just FULL of life and personality. Like... it’s officially theirs. It’s such a good feeling!
And the devs totally didn’t have to add the collectible system in, but I’m so thankful they did. I’m one of those people who gets every single collectible every single time I play.
7. Ericson’s Boarding School for Troubled Youth
Y’know, I honestly can’t think of a better place for Clementine and AJ to end up than Ericson’s Boarding School for Troubled Youth. It’s awesome, I love it, what a great idea. I also love the sense of wonder when we step outside for the first time and see the inside of Ericson, as well as the others, walking around. Like even Clementine is taken back by it.
Because of course it makes sense for Clementine to end up in a school surrounded by people closer to her age rather than with a group of dumbass adults like in the past three games.
Here it feels like they’re all about on the same level. There’s no older person here belittling Clementine because “she’s just a child and doesn’t get it,” they’re just people, y’know? Hell, if anything, Clementine’s now the most experienced one!
The school’s great! I wouldn’t change a thing about TFS taking place here. The environments are beautiful and I love exploring the world.
6. Marlon as an antagonistic character/final confrontation
I have an entire Marlon character discussion/study so I won’t put too much time into this one, but I will say that I love Marlon’s part in tfs. I love him as a surprise antagonistic character, I love how chill he is in the beginning, I love the final confrontation at the end of ep1... I just really like Marlon, y’know?
Ray Chase gives a damn near perfect performance as Marlon, so much so that I wish he survived past ep1 just so that I could hear more of his acting. Marlon himself in an interesting look at a leader character hiding his shame and guilt while trying to maintain control over everyone [including himself] around him, only to be broken down when he’s found out.
5. James
I know people tend to be pretty split on James, but I personally really like his role in tfs. I love that they included a character who was apart of the Whisperers, and hell, if anything I’d like to know MORE about James’ past with them.
I just find him and his whole “walkers are sort of people? kinda?” beliefs. Again, I know some people get annoyed with him because of his beliefs but I think he adds an interesting spin on the whole thing, y’know? Though I do love what a bitch he is if you don’t agree with him hahaha
James is a bitch and I love him, okay? I love his dumb walker mask, I love his dumb boyband hair, I love his whispery voice, and I love his backstory with the Whisperers and Charlie. I love this he’s trying so hard to be this pacifist that he ends up doing the literal thing he said he doesn’t want to do-- hurt people. Y’know... like attempting to kidnap AJ and threatening to break Clementine’s leg in the caves if he’s alive.
Which, by the way, that whole cave scene is a thing. It’s wild and I love it but not for the reasons the devs probably wanted. Like... it’s a little hilarious? I know it’s not supposed to be! But I can’t take James seriously when he’s walkin’ around his hands on his hips all huffy and puffy, okay? It’s just wild.
Anyway, I love James and wouldn’t get rid of him. Hell, I’m still waiting for my James with the Whisperers mini-series, Skybound.
4. Ericson Crew
There isn’t a single character from Ericson that I don’t like, or that I’d get rid of, which is rare with these games. Thinking back to the previous games, there’s always at least one person I could do without or that I didn’t like. I adore all of them!
The Ericson crew just feels closer than previous groups. For starters, they’re way more likable than most in our previous groups. Even when there’s tension [and boy is there tension at points] you still get the sense that they don’t hate each other, unlike in our previous groups. They do in fact love each other as a family and will do what they can to protect one another.
Plus, they’re all interesting. They’re troubled youth and I love all of them!
Aasim keeps a daily journal where he chronicles everything in hopes of learning from past mistakes to prevent future ones, he’s damn good with a bow, and he’s got a neat little soul patch on his chin.
Ruby is the tiny yet fiery medic of the group who adamantly believes in manners yet used to chase teachers around with pitchforks.
Brody is caught up in the twin mess with Marlon but she’s also shown to want an escape, a road trip where she and her friends can go see the beach, but she also suffers with anxiety and panic attacks and isn’t afraid to knock Marlon on his ass or swear at Clementine.
Mitch is a grumpy, tall boy who looks after Willy like a brother, knows how to make bombs out of manure and propane, and used to fight his neighbors because they didn’t like his face.
Omar is a sassy chef who has to have every ingredient just right otherwise he’s salty for a week and he can take a bullet to the leg like a champ.
Willy’s a goober who can climb trees like you wouldn’t believe and he made a bomb of his own in Mitch’s honor that completely wrecked the delta’s ship.
Tenn is a soft, naïve boy who draws and reads but isn’t afraid to stab a walker bitch if he has to.
Violet was sent to the school after witnessing her grandmother’s dead, she used to date Minerva who is now “dead,” has abandonment issues,  tries to give off the appearance of a grumpy grump but like once she’s comfortable with you she’ll tell you her life story and do romantic shit like dancing and painting you a pin.
Louis was sent to Ericson because he was a rich brat who broke up his parents marriage because they wouldn’t let him take singing lessons and has felt like garbage ever since, using humor to cope and push people away, and keeps the façade on until someone’s willing to see past it in which he’ll finally bare his soul to you, name a song he wrote after you, and do everything in his power to keep you and everyone else safe over himself.
I just... Love ‘em all.
3. Clementine and AJ’s dynamic
To think that they almost killed AJ off, or kept him a minor character. That would’ve been a shame and an absolute waste because Clementine and AJ’s dynamic is super fucking good in tfs.
It’s actually a little baffling that AJ’s as good as he is, from his writing to his voice acting, he’s just great. And his relationship with Clementine is definitely one of my favorites to come from this game. It’s not perfect, but I don’t want perfect.
I love that AJ looks to Clem for guidance and I love the way our choices affect him, even when it’s a case of the bridge scene. Hate the bridge scene knowing that I gotta sacrifice a character I care about for another I love, but I can’t deny that I love how that choice is made. After everything, do you trust AJ or not?
Plus, their conversations are so well done, their chemistry is through the roof, and I wouldn’t change it.
Oh, and the barn scene? Gets me every time, even though I already know everything’s fine and gonna work out. Still gets me.
2. Clementine is Bisexual
I’ve talked about this in the past, but lemme just say that I love the fact that Clementine is canonically bisexual.
Doesn’t matter if you’re dating Louis, Violet, or no one, Clementine is still bisexual. The game confirms it through it’s text/subtext and Clementine’s actions that we don’t have control over, and the devs confirmed it. She ain’t straight, she ain’t a lesbian, she is bisexual.
I can’t express how happy that makes me. Just... 💗💜💙
And with her being bisexual comes her two great love interests: Louis and Violet. They’re amazing, and such an improvement over the previous game’s attempt at love interests... ahem, y’know... Kate.
1. Louis as a character/his relationship with Clementine
I mean... c’mon. Y’all knew what #1 was gonna be. Do I even need to explain? This entire blog is just me gushing about Louis/clouis.
Look, Louis is my favorite non-playable character across the entire series. Hell, even when you factor in playable characters, he’s STILL my absolute favorite. Like, even outside of his relationship with Clementine, I find him to be such a compelling character by himself.
Like I mentioned above, he came from a stupid rich family who gave him everything he ever wanted, but when his father wouldn’t let him take singing lessons, he literally worked for over a year to break up his parents marriage because “you get to be happy or you get to be rich, can’t be both.”
He gets sent to Ericson where the apocalypse happens, he never gets to make up with his parents, and he ends up using jokes and piano as a coping mechanism to deal with everything, falls into a cycle of being unreliable and the butt of the joke, and lives one day at a time without much thought for the future.
He puts on the happy jokester persona to push people away from knowing the real him and rarely shares much about himself. Hell, when Clementine does hunting and decides to take care of the walker with him, he actually does let down the wall for a minute to share his view on “this moment” before looking away like “Oof, shared too much-- HEY, GO CHECK ON AASIM :D I’LL BE OVER HERE :D FIXING THE TRAP :D and adjusting the wall ahem--”
It’s so interesting because you’d think that he’d be more open about his past with Marlon or the twins or whatever [like Violet is] but no, he doesn’t tell you shit about his past until EPISODE 3 and you have to work to get that story.
I just... I just love him. Could talk about and analyze his character for hours. And I love his relationship with Clementine. It’s just so good. The piano scene where they finally admit their feelings for one another?? That shit has my entire heart. Their entire relationship is my favorite. What else is there to say?

fic: see honey, i saw love
Requested by @galvanizedfriend +  prompt: He was rage and hellfire unleashed. His voice dripped with sarcasm. He could talk like sugar or spit venom.
Post TVD finale. Everything is canon, but everyone lives. Fair warning, jealous angry angst ahead. I’m sorry, friend – this is probably the exact OPPOSITE of what you wanted!! But huzzah, this is my first piece of writing that isn’t a small drabble in FOREVER? I’m very rusty. Please be kind.
***
 See Honey, I saw love;
Some months later he shows up at her door, and kisses her. Oh, how he kisses her.
klaus/caroline, 1.5k words, 1/1.
*
*
A Klaus scorned is a Klaus unlike any other. An island on his own, violent waves all around. A lot of wet rocks.
Caroline tries to soothe, usually. She never really has to try. A hand rested on his jaw is enough to calm him. A press of her forehead to his. A lingering gaze, maybe. She never has to want for his tenderness; he comes to her willingly.
Other times he disappears.
Tonight is one of those times.
Caroline wakes to the sound of a banging door, pounding feet, and the green shiver of the woods surrounding their home.
She knows Klaus is claw deep in mud now, running in the wild.
She cannot stop him. She cannot find him.
She waits, on the porch, her earl grey getting cold. Morning comes.
***
“I’m not in the mood, please—” How he manages courtesies confounds him, still, but she’s just the soft curves of a woman right now, no sign of vampire, no smell of blood. The curl of her hair invades him, he closes his eyes, tries not to put any force when he shrugs her circling hands off his shoulders. “Love, please—”
“Klaus,” she says, softly. “Let me.”
He sighs. “Not now.”
“Look, Klaus – no, open your eyes – it was nothing, alright? We had to meet—”
“With what cause do you even have to see him anymore? Your days of trying to kill me are over.”
“You’re misunderstanding.”
“You. Are not seeing.”
“Klaus.”
“You still smell of him.” His movements are brisk now. He turns away, he’s on the other end of the room now, hand around the doorknob. “I know it from a mile away. It hasn’t changed a bit all these centuries.”
“Klaus, Stefan and I are not—”
At the mention of his name he swings the door open and steps out of the room. “My patience only runs so thin, sweetheart.”
“Stefan was worried—”
“I worry!” he shouts. She stills. “Is that not enough?”
“He’s my best friend,” she says quietly. “Was.”
Klaus regards her coldly. “He was mine, too.”
***
Stefan and Klaus had met in New Orleans, apparently.
And Klaus hadn’t liked what he’d found in his old friend. Caroline doesn’t know anything more than that.
“I did him a favour,” Klaus allows this bit of information whenever she needles too much. “Just the one. He hasn’t wasted it yet.”
“How do you know?” she presses.
“He is still alive, no?”
And Caroline would have an unexplainable look on her face then. It boils his insides.
***
Klaus had been the one who’d changed her mind about having the twins. Klaus helped her rediscover a love, a new kind of love, and he puts his hands to her stomach sometimes, imagining. And Klaus’ voice had been the only one who managed to lull Lizzie to sleep. At first she keeps him on the phone by the twins’ cribs, his voice talking softly into her child’s ears. Some months later he shows up at her door, and kisses her. Oh, how he kisses her.
That night he holds Lizzie in his arms for the first time and she opens her eyes.
***
He could even be tender when fucking her.
It shouldn’t be called fucking, really, it was something more than that. Something that blooms languorous and slow. He puts his hand to her throat, she rests a palm on his chest. The world is quieter here.
She knows the betrayal. It wasn’t just a betrayal of skin, it wasn’t as if Klaus had just marked her his and left it at that. She had accepted him, chose him. He had come to her willingly.
And she had spoken to Stefan.
“I had to know,” she whispers into the woods, flashlight shining uselessly. “I had to know what you did, Klaus.”
It seems as if the forest is trembling around her.
“You told him to leave me. Why, Klaus? Why did you make me think he didn’t love me anymore? The exit was so swift, Klaus! I was alone! And you – ” her breath catches in her throat, “- you didn’t come for me until months after that.”
She hears the muted sound of a wolf’s howl.
“I want to know why, damnit!” she screams into the darkness.
She senses something heavy and feral bounding towards her.
***
His wolf tackles her to the ground, crushes the wind out of her. It growls in her face, it pulls a scream and a struggle from her. “Klaus, stop it!”
There’s the sound of shifting bones and Klaus in his human form is on top of her now, breathing heavily, looking at her so darkly. He looks like a rage that had been undone. A hellfire in his eyes. When his lips parted, she didn’t know if his voice would drip sarcasm or spill sugar into her. His breath warms her parted mouth and she tries not to taste the venom of his lingering wolf teeth.
“Klaus,” she says raggedly. “You took my choice away from me.”
“He left me no choice,” he whispers back. “He did not love you as he should have.”
“And you do?” Caroline tries to sit up, but his arms cage her. She pushes harder. He lets go.
“Are you not happy with where you are now?”
“Knowing it’s all fabricated?”
“Do not insult me. You’re upset over a different reason.” He grabs her chin when she sees sign of a wavering gaze. “You’re upset because you’d had a forbidden thought.”
She clenches her teeth and gets to her feet now, clapping dirt off her arms. “You don’t know anything.”
Klaus matches her stance. They circle each other in the woods.
“But I know you. I know you in your marrow. You’re afraid about those lingering feelings you still have of Stefan. Wondering if I hadn’t intercepted, would you still be in domestic bliss with him?” He scoffs. “Sorry to break it to you, sweetheart, but you never knew bliss until me.”
“I could have come to you willingly.”
“I was taking a shortcut.”
“It was unfair.”
“It’s also been sixteen years, love – get over it.”
Caroline seethes. “Why are you the one angry here?”
“Because he still loves you, and you are weakened by him!”
“That’s not true!” she shoves him. She shoves him, he allows himself to stumble back into a tree.
They are very close to losing each other now.
“I loved you,” Klaus says accusingly.
“Do not say it like it’s in past tense, you dramatic asshole.” She shoves him again. This time, he wraps his hands around her wrists. “What you mean to say is you trusted me.”
“Of course I did.”
“I’m sorry I spoke to him without letting you know. I should have discussed it with you. We are one,” Caroline says, and she stares into his eyes so hard that he loses track of a second.
“We are,” Klaus says, and a deep breath enters his lungs.
Caroline’s expression softens. “My heart changed a long time ago, Klaus. I didn’t think it still affected you.”
“Everything about you affects me,” Klaus says with a small tilt of his mouth.
“I’m sorry it does,” she says, and pauses before brushing him a kiss.
Klaus can’t help but return it: Soon she is the one pushed against the tree. “Don’t be,” he murmurs. “Do you want to take this fight inside?”
Caroline pouts. “I don’t want this to be a fight anymore.”
“Yes, sweetheart,” he obliges.
***
A Klaus soothed is a different side of him. Not bad. Just different. He gifts him his submission. She pulls him to her breast, holds him there. And then they make love.
When he enters her, it is with a painful sort of relief and it pours out of her bones, turning her liquid. She turns them over and moves her hips so slowly he almost whimpers. “I feel like I’ve missed your warmth for years,” he says breathlessly.
“Do not do that to me again,” Caroline says. Her nails dig into his chest. “You shouldn’t be so wild inside. I’m here. I am not going anywhere.” She tries to reason with a joke, “It’s too late.”
Klaus frowns, but there’s laughter in his eyes. “I thought we discussed that any time before the girls enter college is fair game?”
“Obviously I was lying,” she replies. Her pace quickens. Klaus groans.
“Since we’re being honest now,” Klaus says, “So was I.”
He takes one of her hands and presses a kiss to her palm. She leans down and replaces her palm with her own lips. If Caroline tells him anything now, he will believe it with his whole heart.

Hello! Are you looking forward to 5.3, and do you have any story predictions? :)
Tumblr media
I am very much looking forward to 5.3! I am planning to be up bright and early in the morning (6am my time) for the Live Letter and likely a trailer. I also took Patch Day off work so I can just play and not sit and be unproductive and distracted at work all day.
As a reminder: trailers are meant to hype us up and are often cut to be misleading! Incomplete, out of context voiced lines over entirely unrelated scenes/images! Things spliced together to pique interest and fuel theories! Do not trust it!
They may use more NieR music. Or part of the boss theme for the Secret Trial. Or both.
I had a lot to say so here’s a cut!
Tumblr media
Predictions? Hrm. At this point I’m not sure. I can think of a few different possibilities, especially with The Crystal Tower raids becoming mandatory (and honestly they should have just done that before Shadowbringers entirely). We also know Our Lady Natsuko Ishikawa is back to lead writing for this finale of the storyarc she’s guided this entire time.
-I do think the Crystal Tower on the Source will become important again, as will its slumbering keeper. There’ve been hints dropped to that regard since the end of 5.0.
-I’m not so sure the Exarch will die; there’s a lot of talk about it and people claiming “OMG death flags!!!” but that just makes me think the opposite; he might come close, but with the way the narrative has relied on second chances and hope, I don’t see it as that likely. Also Her Grace Ishikawa dislikes killing off characters if she can help it, so unless she’s under orders, I feel it’s unlikely.
There are other ways The Queen can break our hears, after all.
-I am ready for a big, teary scene where Ryne says goodbye to the Scions, especially Thancred. There are a couple possibilities for how it can go, though.
-Interrupted by an enemy/event, leaving only last soft looks and things still unsaid but the communication is finally there.
-Thancred (and/or Urianger and/or Y’shtola) end up remaining on the First after all, perhaps to give the others a chance, or to help the Exarch, or Ryne, or similar last minute emergency reasons; unintentional, but they won’t just leave their friends hanging.
-The Archons do get to leave, but it’s difficult getting them back to their bodies; this is where I think Young G’raha comes back in. His blood on the Source can be used to reverse what Exarch does on the First to get the Scions into the souljars and back into corporeal form.
-A big part of me wants Ryne to last minute suddenly have to help us get the Scions back. That’s been my theory the whole time and I won’t let go until this is resolved. Minfilia got the Heroes of the First home with her, Ryne could be able to do the same; she’s as Blessed as the WoL is, after all, and just as Rejoined.
-That last one does leave Gaia alone, though, which is rough, but also she could finish Eden on her own at this clean break point in that story. While Ryne dearly loves and wants to rebuild the First, she is the Oracle of Light--and Light’s time over that world is done. That Oracle’s powers and point of hope are no longer needed, but a personification of Darkness’ changes, well...
-Runar may have a role somehow; there’s theorizing on the focus on him last patch, and him overhearing Y’shtola talk of leaving, might leave him open to manipulation.
-Frankly all the new-minted WoLs are open to manipulation, and Elidibus turning them on the Scions somehow.
-I want Angelo to come back with Alisaie. Barring that, she immediately remakes him. I definitely want a scene or at least mention of her testing her new technique on Ga Bu, but that might take another patch or two.
(I’m pretty sure out of all of them, the twins are definitely getting home; their stories on the First have been neatly wrapped up and their role alongside the WoL keeps them pretty safe, I think)
-I want a stabilized portal with the First. I don’t want the world “cut off” so far as plot goes (open for us to return for leveling/crafting/instanced reasons, but the story there being over). It would negate in so many ways the point of saving the First to let it rot in MMO static world status, but I’m also sure that’s likely to happen. Story moves on, as do the lives there, but the game can’t depict it unless there’s a plot reason for it to update.
Tumblr media
-We’ll start working on the still-destroyed other side of the Firmament. It’ll go much like the last patch’s progression did, as that actually worked out rather well. Maybe it’s a new form of player housing. Possibly. They’ve got to come up with something different.
-Anogg and Konog will blow things up. Machine lifeforms will attack the Goggs’ carnival. The Chief will yell and curse a lot. Nines may end up helping protect people from the machine lifeforms and then begrudgingly work with us, and 2B if we can wake her; she’s in promo art still so may get woken up during the story leading into the Bunker. I know there’s at least one other faction in NieR those figures in the art could be, and the gear they hinted will be based on said figures. We’ll learn some, but not the whole story, of what happened to 2B and why Nines was enraged while not infected (his eyes were clear). Maybe we’ll meet A2; as a boss? I doubt we’ll see Adam and/or Eve until part 3, though; they feel like end bosses, if I understand their role in story right (I’ve not played any NieR).
-People will gripe and whine there are no changes to the actual writing, dialogue, or voice acting for ARR, especially in EN, not realizing how much more work that is, not to mention probably legal issues and contractual obligations with that studio and the actors.
-I’m hoping for Class and Job quests for New Game+
(as an aside, I would love for the ARR Beast Tribes to get retooled to be a bit more like HW and later Beast Tribes, and ARR and HW DoL/DoH quests to get updated to be more StB-style; for one thing, it’s an actual test of your gathering/crafting skills, not “buy it from the MB/have a buddy make it” and for two, once contained to story items, it might make it easier to add those quests to New Game+)
-Please give us Hildibrand. Please. I’m begging, SE! Greg canonically has riftwalking powers and used them at the end of StB Hildy. Please. Give us the Inspector, he’s how the WoL destresses from what MSQ throws at them.
There’s probably more I’m forgetting, but this is more than enough for now. I’m trying not to go too hard on speculation, as whatever happens will still surprise me somehow.
I do expect tears though. Lots and lots of tears.

Quiet
Will had always been quiet, this is the story of how he found and lost his voice again through a happy boy in the middle of an awful war.
On AO3.
Ships: implied Blakefield
Warnings: Canon character death, suicidal thoughts and war
~~~~~~~~~~
Will had just turned eighteen when the war broke out. He was old enough to sign up for the war effort and he did along with millions of others. He’d always been a quiet kid, but he loved to read and he had been taken by the grand adventures the characters went on, so he hoped that this would be the start of his very own adventure.
This hope was crushed almost as soon as Will arrived on French soil. He was send to Marne to fight by the river Ourcq. Will didn’t know it was called this at the time, he had only learned that days later when they’d dug themselves in, Germans on the other side. When the battle was done, the fields turned into no man’s land and when the idea that this war was an adventure was beat out of him. He looked and only saw a new sort of slaughterhouse.
Yes, Will had always been quiet, but now, now he barely say a word.
He eventually got some friends, it was hard not to become acquainted with some people when most of your evening activities consisted of sitting around together. They talked about everything and nothing, Will learned more about people’s sex-life than he had ever wanted. He even shared some things about himself, although it was far out of his comfort zone to do so.
There was Hendrickson, who was full of smiles and laughs, with more jokes stored in his head than there was time to tell them.
There was Ryan, who had big dreams of becoming a politician and marrying a rich girl, never taking offense in the reverse marrying-rich jokes from the others.
There was Holland, who shared the silence with Will when the rambunctiousness got too much, but who also had a voice of gold that helped them when the nightmares got too bad and the days too long.
There was Graham, who was as dirty as he was religious, much to the amusements of others, but he was there to say the prayers when it seemed like their last moments had arrived.
Then there was the Somme.
Hendrickson fell in the first wave over the trenches, the closed formation proving a mistake. Ryan got stuck in the barbed wire and shot, the munition not enough to destroy them like they’d been promised. Holland blown up by their own mines that were timed wrong, too early and too late. Graham, who had bled out with his cross still clutched in his hand. And Will, the one who survived.
He survived every god forsaken day at the Somme, all 171 days he lived. He got a medal and a leave out of it, along with memories he could never forget and nightmares that would haunt him till the day he died.
His mother and sister knew he had never been a talker, but they weren’t prepared for the silence that Will carried with him.
He had been back for a few days, Lance Corporal Schofield, leading by example on the front lines when the new supply forces came. They were all fresh out of training with hope in their eyes and young unhardened faces.
Will avoided them as much as he could. He had done this song and dance before. He would sit with them, get to know their names and faces, personality traits and then they would die. And Will couldn’t go through that again, so he found a tree and made it his tree. He sat there when he had time off and he didn’t talk to anyone unless he had orders.
The new Privates soon learned to leave him alone, no one wanted to mess with the quiet one that had been here since the start. One of the longest surviving soldiers on the front and how he wished that fact was different.
Yes, everybody left him alone, just like he wanted, everyone except one.
Lance Corporal Blake, who had gotten that rank on good instinct at training before he had even arrived. He was young, just turned nineteen around Christmas. He was young and it showed, it showed in his enthusiasm, his smiles and in the stories he told. He was a goof and he lightened the mood around camp, always in for a game of cards or some small talk.
He was the opposite of Will in every way, but still he had chosen Will to follow around everywhere.
He was there next to Will when the man woke up and he would follow him to the Mess, they were assigned to dig together and to be the look out. Yet Blake didn’t get bored, he just talked and talked, with happy hand movements and open smiles. He wouldn’t look expectantly at Will when he asked a question, but Will didn’t answer, instead he would shrug and move on like nothing happened. He would even sit in silence next to Will and watch the sun go down.
Will was waiting for the day the smile disappeared and the stories ceased, when Blake would realize the hell he’d found himself in and give up on being lively or, even worse, when there was a battle from which Will would return once more, but there would be no Blake the next day, because his body had become part of the landscape while his soul went up to the heavens and all his mother would get was a letter about how brave he had been. Will hoped the day would never come.
It was early January 1917 when Will opened his mouth without having to for the first time in months. He had barely been aware that he had done it, he had only answered Blake’s question. The boy had been going on about his home and the fields when he had asked Will: “So yeah, I help in the fields in the summer. Where are you from? What do you do in the summer?”
Will had shrugged and said: “London, but not really the good part. I just work in the factory, or I used to at least.”
Normally after Blake had asked a question he would continue on talking, but now he had fallen silent. He was looking at Will with an open mouth, which Will only noticed after he looked at the other when he had fallen silent for a few seconds. He raised an eyebrow and asked: “What?”
His own eyes had grown wide the moment he realized what he had done. He had talked, but that wasn’t the thing that bothered him the most, it was what came with the fact that he had talked that worried him. He only talked when it was necessary or when he was close with someone. It hadn’t been necessary, so that only left being close.
He couldn’t afford it to be close with someone, but now he was. He hadn’t even realized it, but Blake had grown on him and now they were friends. He was friends with Blake and it was too late, when the boy died, the last piece of his heart would die as well.
His brain was screaming at him to run away, to get away from Blake and hope his heart hadn’t gotten too attached. That he could still cut his ties with the other if he ran now. He was almost turning away when Blake smiled and he realized that he was in too far. He knew he couldn’t turn away, not now and not later, his heart had gripped Blake close and wasn’t about to let go.
Still smiling and unaware of the turmoil he was causing Blake said: “That’s still necessary work, Scho. I mean, helping on the fields isn’t exactly glamorous either, but it is fun. You see, me and Joe used to go there and just fuck shit up when we were little and now those people are our bosses, but we were never caught, so they don’t know it was us. We made a game out of it: how many times can we vaguely mention the stuff we got up to before they figure it out? It’s amazing.” and Blake was chattering on once more, leaving Will to follow him, because there was nothing else to do.
He had been a quiet kid, whose silence was a shield that was now slowly being thorn down.
Three months later and Will said about one fifth of their conversations, not nearly taking the lion share, but still talking quite a bit, much to Blake’s excitement. In that short period of time Blake learned that Will had a mother who also worked in the factories and a father who had died at Verdun, but his sister had married quite a well off man and she didn’t need to work at all, she could care for her two children. Twin girls that Will loved a lot, he had jokingly commented that he was the fun uncle however unlikely that may seem, but that was also because he was their only uncle. He had surprised his friend with his dry comments and banter. Blake also learned about Wills love for books and poetry and he listened to Will softly recite them while they sat together watching the sunsets like they had always done.
It was now early April and they had fallen asleep by Wills tree that had slowly become their tree. The Sargent was waking Blake up telling him to pick a man and grab his kit. Will already knew, who Blake would pick, of course he did, because that’s what he had done since he arrived. He had picked Will and Will had followed his lead.
The mission they were send on seemed impossible and Will wanted to wait, to prolong their time together, because something deep down told him that this wasn’t going to end well. It wasn’t going to end well and Will would live, because that was all he had done, he had lived while everything collapsed around him. But Blake wouldn’t listen, he kept on walking and Will kept on following, because there was nothing else he could do.
When the rat tripped the wire he thought that his end had finally come, he vaguely felt bad that Blake would be buried with him, but an ugly and bigger part of him was glad that he didn’t have to live on while Blake died, but then there was a hand pulling him along and miraculously both made it out of there alive.
Will got a bit of hope, so far everything was going as well as it could. Maybe they would make it, both of them, with Blake chattering and he himself commenting here and there. Then they were suddenly talking about medals and Will almost said too much, laid himself bare for this boy, but he stopped himself.
He had never said a lot and he wouldn’t say too much after so long of quiet.
Blake took it in stride, he always had and he didn’t mind to continue chattering on and ignore Wills faults like nothing had happened. Will had never been more grateful for a person than he had been for Blake in that moment.
They walked on until everything suddenly went to shit. Stupid planes, stupid pilot and stupid naivety, they should have kept walking, they should have shot the pilot, but they hadn’t and now Blake was bleeding out in his arms asking the always quiet kid to talk and Will tried, he tried so hard. He told Blake he would write his mum and that he knew the way, that he would find his brother and complete their mission, but more than that he couldn’t say, no matter how much Blake was pleading.
The sounds were stuck in his throat, only exploding out when the soldiers in the truck wouldn’t help him when he had to go on, he had to.
He was focused, he just needed to find the Devon's, find Joe. Silently he was walking, but the quiet kept building up in his head until the dam broke when he found the woman with the baby. He recited a poem, it had been Blake’s favourite and he wanted to never stop telling it, but the church bells rang and he had to go, he had to keep on walking.
Not walking, running. He was running through the streets then he was flying through the air and then, then he was floating. For a moment he thought he was floating away, up to the heavens, but he couldn’t he had a mission. The boy that was singing reminded him of Holland, but Holland was dead along with Blake and soon these people would be as well. They would die if he didn’t keep on running, the mission wasn’t over yet, he could still save them.
Then as almost as suddenly as it had started the mission was over, he was standing in front of Joe and wordlessly gave him the rings that had been on the warm fingers of his brother not even a day ago. He stood there feeling empty, before stumbling over the field where he sat under a lone tree and looked out over the field. It was a sunrise and not a sunset. It was quiet and there was no chattering. He was alone and everything was opposite to normal and it would never go back.
He tried to write the letter, but the quiet kid that had found his voice again had run out of words to say.
The page stayed blank.
Pokemon Sword/Shield headcanon dump
Surprise I have a lot of geographical/public transit headcanons. Good mind to write a story that centres around it tbh.
Galar is probably not big, from the fact that flying by Corviknight from Hammerlocke to Postwick is negligible enough that it kinda just cuts from one to the other in the game. I imagine it’s still quite a bit of time, like 2 hours perhaps.
The reason people don’t just take the flying taxi all the time is that it’s expensive compared to the trains.
Also, based on Twilight Wings, you can get from to Postwick to Turffield in an afternoon (I assume there’s a train ride involved) so it’s probably a 6-hour ride from north to south at the most. It’s not a long trip but it’s enough that no one wants to take it daily.
I do think there’s one train line serving Hammerlocke to Wyndon specifically, it passes through the mountain range and I imagine it’s maybe a 2 hour ride. And a different one runs from Hammerlocke to Wedgehurst through Motostoke, this one’s more like 4 hours. There’s a third line from Wedgehurst to the Wild Area meetup spot, this one’s 1 hour at the most.
Player character and co:
My Victor's signature Pokemon is Vikavolt just because of the name. But he also has an Arcanine, and he probably picked Sobble.
My Gloria’s signature Pokemon is usually Coalossal, I dunno I just like Coalossal and think it fits her. She also usually has a Roselia/Roserade because it’s fun for the visuals. Normally I have her pick Sobble, but the AU where she and Victor are twins, she picks Scorbunny.
(Hop usually picks Scorbunny, but in the twin AU, he gets Grookey. I like the direction of the type advantages, and also Victor with Sobble.)
My Victor is reserved and very no-nonsense while Gloria is a bit of a goof, but determined when it comes to it. That way the trio has a nice balance of personalities
Victor and/or Gloria probably moved to Postwick when they were kids, maybe 6 years old, which is why they’ve never met Leon. Where they moved from is anyone’s guess, but I tend to imagine it’s a city off the map that’s closer to the north, or even an unnamed neighbouring region.
Victor also wins the champion cup but idm stories where Gloria does, I see them as equals in battle prowess. My HC Victor has his head firmly on his shoulders and would have the most humility when he wins. I like the idea that Victor is a  strategist while Gloria relies on high speed/attack
Rivals:
Hardcore supporter of Sonia and Hop having a big sister/little brother relationship. Sonia is just “smh” at Leon never being around, because she has always wanted a younger sibling so how is it he can stand to never visit his bro. She takes up that role more and more over time, especially after Hop becomes her assistant. They are both loquacious and lack a filter so they end up telling each other about every last problem on top of complaining about work. They also have no qualms voicing annoyance at each other.
Marnie sees through bullshit, kind of like my HC Victor does, but she also has no qualms being firm about telling people off, unlike Victor. All of them keep Marnie’s contact number on hand and probably hang out with her when they need a good talk about something serious or if they need defending against a bully (like Bede).
I especially like to imagine Hop and Marnie are great friends. Hop trusts Marnie enough to vent to her, and Marnie finding him a breath of fresh air and hangs out when she’s sick of gym leader responsibilities. I imagine she had a hand in snapping him out of his insecurities about living up to Leon, she’s like “look he probably doesn’t want to be put on a pedestal” because she Knows. They complain about their brothers.
Speaking of which, Leon and Piers are just complete embarrassments to their younger siblings. Marnie and Hop probably hang out whenever the two are on live TV just to mock everything they do onscreen.
Bede is still a bit nasty after becoming a gym leader, like he’s not as bad but he doesn’t completely reform. He is absolutely a drama starter, he doesn’t even have to try, and half of Galar kinda lives for it even though it’s unpleasant at times.
Bede gets the ratings on any TV programme way up, so he’s constantly appearing on TV. And in the news. He just rides around Galar on his sparkly Rapidash like some fancy bastard and all the people who love glam assholes are falling over their feet for his autograph.
I HC both Leon and Hop as having ADHD. Especially Leon because of his vibe of being extremely competent in somethings but completely hopeless at others (relatable). Plus they’re always running off ahead of everyone else, they get super focused on things, Leon always loses his way, Hop is always barging in without thinking, etc.
Ever since I found out about them, I like the idea of Leon and Hop’s middle names being their French names, Tarak and Nabil.
Gym leaders:
I like to imagine that the gym leaders sometimes drop by each other’s and bring food from their town. The Corviknight taxis make it possible to do that without food getting cold.
Piers relies on people (especially Marnie) bringing him food or else he just. doesn’t eat. He’s probably passed out from not eating. (this is also relatable)
They probably also just hang out a whole lot. I like to imagine being a gym leader is a 4 day work week at worst, it’s good money and they get hella free time during the off-season. So that means all those “AUs” where they all just hang out and do silly shit together are totally valid and canon in my HC.
On that note I imagine that Sonia and Nessa have weekly lunch dates. They absolutely vent and shittalk people during those, like we see in Twilight Wings. Every week it’s like “hey so what’s happened since the last time we talked” and there’s always a whole new story because being a gym leader is so much drama.
Speaking of drama, there is absolutely drama among Piers, Raihan, Nessa, Gordie and Leon, and it gets 10x worse when Bede becomes a leader. The others stay out of it, lol.
No one can get any shit by Opal. She’s clearly very perceptive but she is also immune to people’s attempts to faze her. She probably saw the Darkest Day and was like “oh ha no big deal I’ve seen worse“
Castlevania Season 3: In Regard to the Alucard Situation, or How to make him go Darker and more emo as they drag him into Symphony of the Night
So for those that are going to be reading below the cut, there are spoilers for the new season, the game and the following CD Drama Nocturne of Recollection which follows events of Symphony and introduces past events for Alucard.
Tumblr media
Before I go any farther, I’m putting the links up here and refrecing them by numbers in the peice so that it’s easier to find them.
1.  Akumajo Dracula X: Tsuioku no Yasokyou or Nocturne Recollection (in English) -Link to the Castlevania Wiki on the subject of the Symphony of the Night Drama CD
2.  Subed version of Noctune of Recollection -done by Shido T.
3. Shido T.’s Nocturne of Recollection  -Translated Transcript of the drama CD by Shido T.
So after watching Season 3, and I’ll have a review up of the whole season when I get a chance, I realized why I was so disappointed in the events regarding Alucard. It wasn’t just the idea of Mr. Ellis using christian iconography (Judas Kiss, cross wrapped in thorns, they know not what they do, etc) as he did with Lisa (something he likes to do for certain characters even in his own works -hey Authority how you doing?), that was fine, I was expecting that. And it wasn’t just the idea of an assault (rape, could qualify for it as it was done to him using means that didn’t allow him to consent to something that was being told to him honestly) as a means of making him hate Humanity, that was something I was expecting, again based on Mr. Ellis’s other works, since it’s clear that he’s trying to push Alucard as far as possible from wanting to be awake so that when we get to the Symphony of the Night story it will make sense why he’s in the coffin again.
No what got to me was that these two bland and flat characters were created just for the purpose of, well, fridging them for Alucard to go dark. (For those that don’t know Fridging is a term used in Comic tropes where Character A is killed so that Character B has some trauma or dramatic growth in comics, and is typically a woman but can be other genders or living things -dog from John Wick for example.) Sumi, or Zumi, and Taka come off as basically put there to die characters. They are strategically created for the express purpose to betray Adrian and die. That is pretty much it. There to build him up so that when he falls he falls far, far farther than before, thus probably forcing Trevor and Sypha to seal him away so that he can repair his own issues or something.
Tumblr media
This is something that keeps gnawing at me. Alucard is not dumb enough to let his guard down like this, ever. Even in the first two seasons, he was crafty about watching and observing Trevor and Sypha to see who and what they were about before trusting them. It’s clear that this season was not written with the same thought process as Season 1 and 2 which were cohesive and thoughtful in how each character and plot beat set up the events that leads to the end of the story of Dracula (and boy oh boy do I have thoughts about Lisa in Hell because...that makes no sense given who she’s probably connected to). He wouldn’t be letting them just into his life like this, he’d be cagey and cautious, given they are unknown factors, and wouldn’t be just randomly sleeping in his bed like this. He’d be locking their doors and locking his.
To be frank Adrian at this point in time would already have limited trust of humans because he’d have seen his mother die one year before. He uses his glamour to go down to the village and do thing. This has been shown in later games when he’s in his Genya Arikado form in Japan. The man is good at hiding out, and is way older than Trevor or Sypha, so trusting people would be on his low end already. He’s seen a lot of shit (especially if they go the ‘He’s Trevor’s daddy or grand-daddy route) and isn’t a character that is just trusting. Read his lines from Symphony and even Castlevania III, and you’ll see that he’s a man that can trust, but it’s hard to gain that trust. Same with Sonia Belmont in the non canonical game, it takes a long while for him to gain trust with her and eventually work with her to defeat his father.
Tumblr media
Which brings us to the issue with Sumi(Zumi) and Taka. Both characters are supposed to be analogs of people that were harmed by the Vampires who want them to pay for their actions. Both are well voiced, but their characterizations are flat as all get out to me. Which shouldn’t be a surprise as the arc feels like Mr. Ellis was pulling from a dropped idea from his run on Authority. While, yes they are not twins, it’s clear that there had to be some assumption in making them look alike for added creepy factor in this. Which again, rings odd to me that Alucard would allow his room to be wide open at all with strangers, as they have only known him for a short time (remember how he was cautious around Trevor and his regard about killing Vampires).
Honestly, I would say take them out and replace them, because there is a better story to be had and it already has connections to the series and could bring about two very interesting characters from the Drama CD and expand on Alucard, Dracula, and Lisa all in one go.
Tumblr media
So a quick Summary is needed here about Nocturne of Recollection. The basic parts that are important are that Alucard is dealing with another vampire who is attacking people, and seemingly attacking his new found friend (love of his life) Maria. This turns out to be a former friend/servant Lyudmil, who at one point had been tossed from his village for trying to help Lisa and ended up coming to work under Dracula and serving Adrian. The two became friends, until something happened in Lyudmil’s village and he became a vampire and Alucard went way dark for a while, leading to Dracula’s servant Magnus to come and manipulate Lyudmil into hating Humans more and eventually leading the two friends to fight, and Lyudmil to change sides and work with Alucard, only to end up dying from mortal wounds.
Just for the record:
This is Lyudmil
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this is Magnus:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where unlike in Season 3 a made up couple of people can come in and wreck him, I think a far better story would be to use the two characters from Nocturne and build that into Season 4 in regard to Alucard’s story.
If...and I say this again, If, I were to advise about how these two characters could work better in setting up Alucards fall I would say that they play a larger idea into the savior turned sinner narrative that could really screw up Alucard’s mind for a while.
So, how would I go about telling this tale of tragedy that could bring Alucard down with out having to resort to a full on sex scene that wasn’t needed to show how intimacy can be corrupted and how people can be betrayed by their own human fallacies...
Tumblr media
The arc would start with Lyudmil coming from the town near the castle and Magnus starting out his plans. We start with Adrian doing as he does in the opening sequences and learn that he’s being observed by someone as the night comes into play. This would be Magnus who we learn has been watching the castle for the past week or two. He was a servant of Dracula, and, unlike the other vampires, didn’t make it to the feast. Of course he wants to know what’s up with Alucard and, like the other vampires, has been trying to carve out his own safe place, but with Dracula dead, and him being weaker, it has become very hard for him to survive. So he wants to have the castle for himself as a place to be safe (maybe bring back Dracula).
Meanwhile you have Lyudmil whom we learn lives at the edge of the town where Lisa once tended the sick. Lyudmil’s mother was the midwife that helped Lisa give birth to Adrian. (For the sake of everything we can say that Lyudmil is the same age or a year younger than Adrian, and his sister is like a year younger than him so. Adrian is 20, Lyudmil is 20 to 19, and his sister, Liliya is 19 to 18.) Because when the Bishop came to arrest her Lyudmil and his sister defended Lisa they were thrown from the city for trying to help her. Since they’re on their own, they’ve been living off the land and with the Night creatures causing trouble, and illness coming because of them, Lily, Lyudmil’s younger sister, is very sick.
Lyudmil hears word from the few people that will interact with him, that Dracula is dead, and because he can’t think of any other way to help his sister, he decides to take her to the castle and see if any of Lisa’s books are there. Lyudmil takes his sister and heads off with her to reach the castle and find a cure. After a month of travel, since the Castle is now over the Belmont Keep, Lyudmil finds the castle and Adrian senses him, and attacks. Lyudmil is not a fighter so he runs and ends up asking Alucard to not kill him as he just wants to find Lisa’s books to save his sister. Adrian is curious about this, and Lyudmil show’s he’s not lying by bringing Adrian to Liliya who is clearly sick with an illness. He’s not sure if he can help, but he figures that his mother’s books may have something, so he welcomes the duo into the castle.
Tumblr media
Alucard uses his mother’s books to cure Liliya. The two are asked to stay in the castle for Lily to recover. While this is happening Magnus realizes that Adrian was one of the ones that Killed Dracula, thanks to a magic item that lets him see what happened to Dracula in his last minutes. Angry that the son of Dracula would allow Humans into his master’s home and that the boy is living there after he killed his own father, Magnus decides he wants to screw over Adrian for his own personal reasons.
Magnus sets about making the town near where the Belmont keep is turn  on the two young people. He has been showing up at a field near the castle dressed as a merchant who is selling items and collecting flowers to dress up said items. Alucard is wary of him but gives into his human side and figures that the merchant is not that bad. Though all the time that he talks to Adrian, we get these moments of him twisting words to make Alucard question and doubt himself and his reasons of allowing the duo to stay.
At the same time we learn that Liliya wants to learn to heal, since someone needs to take up Lisa’s job in the village when they go back, and Lyudmil wants to learn from Adrian how to fight so he can eventually become a city protector. The trio start to form a deep bond, and viewers learn that both Liliya and Lyudmil have feelings for Alucard. We spend time getting to know the trio, and use them for the lighter moments in the show, compared to say, Hectors story. We learn about their family and the connection to Lisa, also we learn how their mother died giving birth to Liliya and how their father was killed by some night creature just before Liliya was born. Lyudmil doesn’t like people, but he also doesn’t want kids to be like him. Near the end of the season, Magnus rouses the towns suspicions enough with the castle and the two siblings that when Liliya goes out to get followers a group of men come and capture her and drag her to the village for trial of being in league with the Night creatures.
Here they basically beat or harm her, trying to make her confess to connections, (this act is unknown to most of the village). Magnus banks on her crying out for help, which she does, and uses that to unleash his minions on the town. Lyudmil goes looking for her when she’s late. leaving Alucard in the meadow where the trio eat together. Magnus, as the Merchant, tells Lyudmil where to find his sister. When he gets into town it’s a wreck and he fights his way into the building where he finds her tied up and the men are scared. Angry, Lyudmil kills them all and rescues his sister, dragging her out to the forest area and leaving her to rest, so he can go and find the monster that is controlling all of this and basically stop them from harming any kids there, as he sees them as innocent in all this.
Tumblr media
Magnus, as the merchant, goes to see Alucard, who has seen the smoke and was already headed for the woods, and tells him what happened. He then leads him to Liliya who is dying from her wounds from earlier. She asks Alucard to save her brother, and then dies. Alucard rushes to the town, fights a bunch of creatures who scatter, as it’s part of the plan and finds a mortally wounded Lyudmil. Conflicted on what to do Magnus comes by as himself and, since he’s an Incubus, starts putting temptations into Alucard’s ear.
Lyudmil for his part thanks Alucard for all the kindness he offered him and says that he’s glad they had their short time together and that he’s sorry to leave him. Magnus keeps reminding Alucard of how alone he was before the two came, that Liliya asked him to save Lyudmil, that as Dracula’s son he could change Lyudmil to keep him alive, etc. Alucard in a moment of weakness and desperate not to be alone, as Lyudmil has his eyes closed and is ready to die, bites and turns him into a vampire.
Last episode of the season ends with Lyudmil waking up and finding out he’s a vampire. He’s not exactly thrilled about it, but realizes that he can stay and learn from Alucard how to uses these powers to protect others and hunt down the one that turned him and probably caused his sister’s death. Alucard lies to him when pressed about who turned him, he says it was a vampire, and Lyudmil thinks it was the guy that seemed to control the monsters.
We now have a set up for Season 4 that makes sense for a fall for Alucard and a far deeper betrayal. Alucard has betrayed his own beliefs, his own word. He’s take a life and twisted it, like his father, and then lied for his own desprate need to make sure that Lyudmil doesn’t leave him because he feels alone. This guilt and grief over the loss of Liliya and his own cover up to Lyudmil, slowly eats away at him and makes him push Lyudmil away through season 4, until Magnus blows everything to hell when he gets Lyudmil to find out that Alucard was the one to turn him. which in turn causes a fight, and Lyudmil to question everything that Alucard had done for him and his sister and leads him in the season eventually to change sides to Magnus and betray Alucard, by litterally stabbing him in the back, and leaving him to die. Where in you have Trevor and Sypha come and find their friend in bad shape wanting to know what happened, only for him to say he fucked up, and begs them to put him in his coffin to sleep after Sypha heals his wounds.
This would lead to a wide open castle for Isaac for season 5, and a set up for a later season of the Rondo of blood/Symphony of the Night arc.
Tumblr media
Having Alucard betray his own beliefs makes him more like his father than killing Taka and Sumi. When Mathias lost his wife Elisabetha, he used his best friend to get what he wanted, which was immortality. He went against his own beliefs about their friendship and focused on his own desires to make his own wish come true, which in this case was to screw over God and Humans for taking his beloved Elisabetha away. Yet, he still wanted that close association with Leon Belmont, whom he’d known since they were kids, and when Leon rejected him in the end it broke everything that Mathias was clinging on to in the hopes of some sense of not being a full on monster.
For Alucard, who didn’t want to be like his dad, who could walk in the light, who cared for people and had told Trevor and Sypha he would be okay, this action would have been a tipping point. How could he be so damn selfish to turn someone because of his own needs. How could he corrupt Liliya’s dying request to save her brother into some personal wish to not be alone and corrupted it in his mind so that he didn’t have to feel guilty over it. What makes it all the worse then is that he no longer believes he had the right to stand up against his father since they are alike and he did a horrible thing to a friend, just as Mathias had to Leon. Loyalty can also play a part in it, as well as truth and trust, since Alucard is all of 20 at this point.
You can have a hell of a philosophical situation there about desires, requests, and how far to go to save someone. Are they alike, or is it all in the lies from Magnus. Magnus would also be someone that Alucard could conflict with as it would allow for the two different views of Dracula to show off how they both feel about things. Magnus wanting to be a son to Dracula, to be praised and loved by him as a child or a servant to a master. Someone who cares for the darker side of the man yet feels compassion and empathy for him. Where as Alucard, feels love for his father, he also knows that the man is capable of great evil and needs to be stopped and wants him to be in the light. Magnus could easily be the opposite of Carmilla, someone who is grieving the loss of Dracula as much, or possibly more so, than Isaac as he was probably with Dracula longer. Where as she is glad he’s dead and is free to do as she pleases.
It just feels like there could have been a better story arc for him in here instead of what we got. There’s so much rich lore in Castlevania and the connections between characters that it feels kind of wrong that the story of Alucard, Lyudmil and Magnus was left on the way side, and in stead we have a pair of characters that are okay over all but ultimately a waste.
