Hey, I had a thought for the fantasy au! So on one of the previous versions of the WH website, there was a rhyme for the show that went:

A house is a place with four walls and a floor,

with a ceiling above and a lovely front door.

There's a bed to cradle you safely at night,

and windows to bring in the morning sunlight.

Your house is a mirror of just who you are,

A reflection that tells you to never stray far.

Which I thought might make a good incantation for when Wally properly summons Home (I can't remember if that's ever required for Warlocks but hey, it's still a fun poem regardless).

Now my betrothed is roleplaying as a conch by holding their index fingers up by their eyes and saying the most unhinged shit. When they started hitting on me as the shell I licked their eye finger.

They said, “Augh! This is wet in a way I’m not used to! Why is it so acidic?” Then slowly curled their finger eye up like a sad salted slug.

So, um, basing on what is the result of smashing an androids head open is in dbh, uhhhh. gg etho rest in peace :|

Yeah mans is not doing well. Etho needed a LOT of physical repairs after this incident, and that’s not even taking into account the programming/internal errors that caused it in the first place. Doc and Xisuma spend a LONG time trying to fix him before they eventually deem his programming unsalvageable and reset him.

#they spend a LONG time trying to replace all of the plating where etho got MORE physically broken (his forehead and his arm) #but specifically they spend a lot of time very carefully replacing the plating #because they don’t want to completely restore his shell— etho had wanted to keep the cracks from the explosion incident afterall #and if they’re gonna try to restore etho to his previous state they have to be so careful to restore the cracks the way they originally were #etho’s cheek is fine because nothing got worse there #but I imagine it’s really hard to fix his forehead (where there was a crack that went through his eye up to his hairline) and his arm— #without it looking ever so slightly different than it was before #I wonder if etho ever notices it after he deviates again #bdubs probably wouldn’t because he’s not necessarily privy to exact photographic memory like androids #but maybe etho would notice a hairline crack at a slightly different angle or that has a slightly different bend at the top. who knows #sorry I rambled way longer than I meant to DGJBCGHN #ask #dbhc ask #dbhc etho #chlopieno

imagine being always seen as a derivative of someone else rather than vice versa. imagine being programmed to destroy the person you were designed after, programmed to see yourself as the better one of the two, yet you can never defeat the 'inferior' one. you're supposed to be the better one, yet you can never live up to that. you're supposed to be his greatest creation, yet you constantly fail him. you're given a powerful intelligence and even the ability to feel some emotions, yet you're treated like an object and only wanted when you can do something productive and relied on because you're a robot, a machine, you're supposed to be perfect, infallible, you're supposed to do this, do that, and if you make one tiny mistake, if you fail, if you're wrong, if you rebel, show independence, something is horribly wrong with you because machines aren't supposed to be like that and you need to be reprogrammed. you'll never get to be a person. not even close. and you know it. you can't even get infected with the metal virus like the rest of them. you'll never get to be who you wish you were.
