Yes some of the hate for captain carter is misogyny but that doesn't erase the real grievances people have with her especially when favoritism comes at the expense of another woman (sharon) and a black man (sam).

Emily VanCamp as SHARON CARTER/AGENT 13 in original concepts
Celebrating Sharon Carter Month with this cruel concepts for her classical costume in the MCU!
My take for a more stylized version comes from Xenoblade actually, with the black details. Since Black Widow pretty much has donned the Agent 13 costume in her movie (let's not talk about how people called Sharon a copycat when the concept art for FaTWS appeared), I think they need to make her white suit differentiate, but not to the point of no-recognition.
(My head-cannon is that mcu!Sharon is undercover in Madripoor, and will use all the tech she has available as the Power Broker to create a very advanced and stylish bodysuit).
As for the classical costume I was actually going to do a 90/80's au concepts with Cap!Family, but tried with Emily and loved it.
I actually did those a looooong time ago, gave them a few retouches now...

i think mcu steve is extremely idealized.
first, he becomes a super human, and apparently all his disabilities and medical problems disappear. which is honestly not a good message to actual disabled people, imo.
second, his backstory is mostly mentioned. we don't see a lot from steve's childhood or anything on screen. i think they detail it more in the comics, the same way they do for tony's childhood, but the fact that it's almost absent from the movies is a problem. they only mention his mother's name as far as i remember. nothing else. (please correct me if i'm wrong, of course)
mcu steve doesn't feel like a flawed character that has to change, the same way others are, like tony. mcu tony is clearly a flawed human being with several issues and a traumatic childhood (even if the mcu tries to paint howard in a good light, it still explains why tony deals with so much self-hatred and relies on unhealthy coping mechanisms, such as drinking). we don't see steve developing as a character. they might joke in that one scene of endgame where present steve rolls his eyes at past steve, but honestly? to me they feel like the same character. steve never changes. even when he's clearly wrong, the narrative insists that he's right.
steve betrays tony and gives him a half-assed "apology" letter. steve does not mourn sam and bucky at all in endgame, instead focusing on that one girl he kissed ONCE. and steve not only abandoned bucky, he took away peggy's agency and her happy ending. she already had a loving husband and children. not to mention the implications here. steve went back to a very flawed and bigoted period of time, and it's implied that he did not try to intervene in tragedies such as bucky being turned into the winter soldier, or tony's parents tragically dying. steve just stayed home. why couldn't he fucking do that in the present? he could've retired without changing someone else's life for his own gain.
it doesn't make SENSE. the winter soldier was a great film and it showed steve that he has to move on from the past and do what he can in the present. but no, steve never leaves the past behind, he literally goes back to it. and even then, it's all about peggy. it's not about his family. nor his mother, sarah, who's probably the person who inspires steve the most. but where the fuck is she? why does she only get ONE mention?
and by the way, i used to love steve. the first avenger and the winter soldier are still solid movies to me. that's why his ending sucks ass. and i've seen many steve fans who agree with me. he's such an important character in the marvel universe, and perhaps a lot more enjoyable and human in other media (like comics and cartoons). mcu steve is... nothing. he's just a walking propaganda for hypermasculinity.

The way major crimes ended was a travesty of writing. I’m actually disgusted.

I still can’t believe that Cap 4 is keeping S4bra’s bitch ass in the movie AND she’s getting a McDonald’s toy! Someone on Twitter said “Imagine being a Palestinian child and opening a happy meal to be met with a 'hero' that represents the very state trying to wipe you from existence.”
Like, if they wanted a female character that’s around to help Sam so bad, they could’ve used Misty or Sharon, two people that he is actually close to in the comics (his girlfriend and one of his best friends), instead of Captain G3n0cide/Captain Isr43l!!!
God, I am so damn tired of the MCU UWU-ifying characters that are racists and N*zi’s and turning them into heroes! This is one of the main reasons I’m so glad I’ve only spent money on two (2) MCU-related things since 2019! (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Eternals)

I can never take that drbat clown person seriously. All they do is complain about anonymous confessions while being a hypocrite spamming confession blogs. They sound so bitter at the world honestly.
i think everyone's got issues, and i mean, i can't lie, i've clearly got issues.
don't get me wrong, i get what you mean, some a the shit physician batsy says or even likes while knowing how disingenuous it is does rub the wrong way and deeply concerns me, and i have noticed that (not limited to batsy or even this blog in general) some of the frequenters and responders to confessions have a bit of a problem where the anon's opinion is taken personally despite it not really being negative towards them or saying anything about the "other side" so to speak that they i guess consider themselves a part of. or even and there's a LOT of this, when the confession points out a genuine but general problem in fandom, instead of being open to discussing the problem and acknowledging it, they try to shut down the conversation by being nasty to the confessor or denying the problem happens (ex: pretty privilege)
i've seen a lot of fairly neutral confessions get commenters fighting with the confession and even sometimes trying to disagree with a confession that is agreeing with them. it's a weird and sometimes hilarious phenomena i've noticed (and again not limited here) that i think mostly stems from bad reading comprehension and assumed intent (and assumed identity of confessors/trying to figure out who the confessors are/straight up insulting or bullying the confessors because... idk, i guess people feel better about bullying when they can hide behind a screen and not connect a human being to the otherside)
i have gotten mad a few times and let that get the better of me, and i'll admit that. there are some pretty shitty confessions sometimes that are hurtful or insulting to fans, there's nonsensical trolling shit which is less harmful but can be annoying, and then there's people trying to cause harm (the valkyrie antis remind me a lot of the sharon antis, except they actually have a legitimate point to make about the character's writing, but they take it too far a lot of times over something fictional and are willing to bully and insult the fans themselves for not agreeing, that's the problem)
i try to ignore most confessions that don't address or attack me (or people like me/fans of certain characters) in any way, especially if just a positive confession on a character. even if i die hard disagree with it. (strictly positive peggy confessions that don't attack sharon or insult fans of sharon/non-fans of peggy as an example, i try not to reply to them cause i'm not just aiming to be that random asshole, i'm trying to educate where appropriate, maybe live and laugh a little too), and reblog the stuff i do like (i need to catch up on lots of shit, way behind on that but been distracted and dealing with life...)
but i do know what you're talkin' about. i wanna hope that people will grow out of the behavior, but i also know that some people thrive on conflict and are addicted to it. i don't get how, but i know it happens. i have half a mind to believe mcfuzzshizzjizzshizzizzface is one of them, cause probably one of the biggest confessor bullies i've seen and of the one interaction i had with the dude, it was weird enough to make me think mcfuzzishizz started a whole new account just to argue with the self when i didn't satisfy the need for it (could be totally wrong here, but i don't think the person that responded has used the account since and i'm just sayin' it's a little weird)
anywho, to a degree, i feel you anon, thanks for the ask sorry for the essay lol, and i do wish people would stop resorting to bullying confessors and others in fandom... hot take i guess, fandom is catty as shit over the pettiest fuckin' bullshit i swears.

as a pjo enjoyer I’ve always been a top tier hater for the idea of a “good movie but not a good adaptation” bc like the fact that it’s an adaptation plays into how good of a movie it is
And then atsv got me into the mcu BEFORE the comics
…guess what
