whats fun about barry as a protagonist vs other Morally Complicated Guy Shows is that he seriously has no ambition lol, his wildest dreams arent like becoming super rich or relishing in holding power over people, like all he wants is simple happiness, maybe career success, normal life stuff, his wildest dreams are like…. being able to have a wedding. having a kid or two. and theres something reasonable about that, it makes him relatable for a while until the show is very clearly like No dude, that is a fucking serial killer, you should not gaf! and you’re like oh right lol. it’s crazy to make such a simple desire seem so malicious but still human

You know, I feel like purgatory would have been a perfect setting for Hazbin Hotel because it's a place people go to before final judgement or death.

YES!! Every time I look into the lore and setting of H4zbin/H3lluva, I wonder why this wasn’t something that was utilized. It would’ve added not only a lot of nuance to Charlie and her motivations, whether or not it took place directly in purgatory or not. If they had remained in hell, purgatory could’ve been an interesting wrinkle in her plan, or something that would’ve explained why all of the angels, not just the exterminators, are so uncaring towards sinners (the idea of “if you deserved a chance you would’ve gotten it).

Or, if Charlie had started the hotel in purgatory, then there could’ve been questions about why a princess of hell wanted to help them. Maybe purgatory is as corrupt as Heaven or Hell, and Charlie’s work is meant to be a criticism of the way institutions meant to help may not actually provide any real support. But the show side steps even mentioning working with these ideas that could’ve given much needed depth to the first ring of Hell.

And To clarify my thought from my last post, I think H4zbin would’ve been better served with a setting akin to magical realism, while maybe borrowing some biblical elements to explain where characters got their powers or legacies from. This would’ve removed a lot of the baggage these biblically based characters come with, making so the characters could’ve just been the characters without us questioning why certain elements aren’t addressed (i.e. Adam, Lucifer, Lilith, etc.).

This group was fresh, just last week in fact, when you were walking with him to get ice cream and heard a few whistles aimed in your direction. Ofcourse you hugged Katsuki’s arm and sped up, clearly ignoring the men and flipping them off as you walked.

But extra was his thing anyway.

That’s why he would never make a scene in front of you. He would never bring his angel, his sole purpose in this wretched life, to the disgusting, humiliating level of these pigs. These cattle had to experience the torture they put you through. Every agonizing twist and cut served an important lesson. In the end, they all understood your pain and pleaded for mercy so.. a win is a win. He only did it for you. He would do it all over for you.

Farmers market au whoever you want

Oooh, now that's an interesting one! Fair warning, this is gonna get...a little weird and a lot dark, buuuuut that's only because it's StrickPage (is that their agreed upon shipname?) and so it couldn't just be pure fluffy innocence now, could it?

Adam's got himself a nice little farm and he lives a good, if a little lonely, life tending to his animals and selling some goods at a local farmers' market.

It's a pretty close knit community, so when Adam sees someone he doesn't recognise there one day, it's a big deal. The man's pretty rude to him to be honest, but he buys a lot and he's a little flirtatious towards Adam, which he can't help but appreciate.

The man, who eventually introduces himself as Swerve, keeps showing up week after week. Adam quickly realises he's pretty much only buying from Adam, barely paying any attention to the other stalls. It's flattering, really. Some of the other folks at the market express some concerns about the mysterious man who showed up out of nowhere, but Adam pays them no mind. He's grown fond of this handsome stranger. And he's intrigued to know more.

He gets his wish when one night, Swerve suddenly appears at his home, bleeding, slightly injured. Oh, and he's got a dead body in his truck. Turns out, people were right to be suspicious because Swerve's a serial killer!

Adam knows he should be terrified; he should run for the hills. But...he doesn't want to. He patches Swerve up and agrees to help him hide the body. He tells Swerve he can lay low on his farm until they know it's safe for him to re-emerge. Swerve is absolutely delighted to have found an unexpected kindred spirit. So they fuck a lot and, with the loving guidance of his new beau, Adam becomes The Hangman, a serial killer in his own right, and the two boyfriends torment the town with horrific murders. And they both live happily ever after! 🥰

im aware this might get me torn apart, but i have to be honest and say that i was incredibly underwhelmed by the third doctor's era. i liked jon pertwee as the doctor (not as much as two but more than one), i liked liz and jo, and i especially liked the doctor and jo's relationship. and of course i liked the master and everything thoschei, i shouldn't have to even mention that. but with pretty much everything else, i was not a fan. i did have a couple serials i liked (the curse of peladon and invasion of the dinosaurs were my favourites), but generally i found the writing deeply mediocre. i also wasn't a fan of the new format, i like my doctor who to be about travelling through time and space in the tardis, not working with the military in some village in surrey. i don't enjoy media about the military, so i very quickly tired of almost every serial building up to a lot of soldiers shooting at some aliens/robots. i don't even particularly like the brigadier. i don't think the era was bad - except for death to the daleks, that was truly bad - i was just very disappointed, as i had expected to like it far more than i actually did.

#i didn't mind benton he had some funny lines and i respect how much of a ride or die he was for the doctor #but i can't help but resent him for taking jamie's place in the three doctors. which is unfair to him and irrational but its how i feel #i enjoyed that yates was gay and i liked his character arc in invasion of the dinosaurs i wish it had been more of a corruption arc #but i think thats perhaps expecting too much from a six parter about rubber dinosaurs (joking. i like that serial a lot) #why have i written this post so professionally you ask?
