How do you think an interaction between Tomura and Eri would go? I have my own post about it that I'm working on, but I would love to hear your thoughts!
Hmmm hard to say
It's hard to imagine Tomura around little kids
Sometimes I imagine that he'd accidentally scare Eri with how he looks (not just looks but. The Villain Vibes. plus yknow she saw him destroy half the city on tv, thank you very much for that core memory all might) and he'd be all "...whatever" about it but still feel sorry for her, maybe even try to make her feel comfortable afterwards? Not get too near and let Eri have her space
I think he'd be cautious around her. You could put it down to him just not knowing what to do around kids or being afraid he might hurt her somehow, whatever
I do think Eri would be at least a little scared of him at first but if Tomura were to behave carefully, she wouldn't be tempted to run away. Or maybe she'd just find him both scary and strange for a while
I don't know how exactly they'd get to any bonding
Sometimes I like to imagine that Eri, for whatever reason, is self conscious about her scars. Maybe she's trying to hide them or she's upset and clinging to whoever she feels safe with, however she shows it. And then Tomura just shows her his scars, the ones on his face and such, maybe just as a "hey I'm the same, I have scars too, a person who was supposed to take care of me did this" thing
(Tho when I imagine that scenario, I also think about Izuku being in the same room and watching this, and maybe showing his own scars too on his arms. Just the 3 of them talking about it and Izuku is the balance of positivity about it, because I doubt Tomura would have a lot of positive things to say about his scars. So Izuku would be the one to say "these are proof that I've lived, and that's the same for you! for Shigaraki as well!" etc ndsfnisdjk)
Honestly not sure how Tomura and Eri would interact if the League were still together (you know those League-Eri au's?). I always imagine them meeting in scenarios where Izuku has already saved Tomura and the two just end up interacting somehow (maybe through association with Izuku? the I Was Saved By A Teenage Hero And Now He's My New Brother club)
Part of me thinks Tomura would also have a little bit of awareness about what she thinks? Idk, maybe it's just me jumping to conclusions but those comments he made in his backstory narration about kids being simpler and sneakier and saying "when you're little, a grown ups words are absolute" tipped me off to that. Maybe he wouldn't have an exact knowledge about it, but he'd be able to guess with how he felt when he was younger? If that makes sense
I do think, despite how distant or awkward Tomura might be with Eri, he'd be kind to her too. Again, the whole "I know what it's like to be that scared as a child" thing coming into play. This also ties in with the above paragraph, how he could relate to her in a way?
If we're to go with the After Tomura Is Saved scenario I mentioned before, with how Eri seems brighter in canon now and a little more eager to do things, I think she could also help him improve somehow. Not in a huge way, but just. in small ways. Maybe seeing someone much younger than him recover from a similar situation could help Tomura feel better and want to do better
Finally, I can't help but think Eri would love to braid his hair. Imagine Nejire taught her how to do it and now she can't stop, and she sees Tomura's long hair and she's like 🤩. And if Tomura is okay with being touched, he'd let her do it while he's playing a game or something. He doesn't really pay much attention to her actions until she's all done and he's looking in the mirror and he's like "hm. oh 😳 huh"
(I'm living vicariously through a 6 year old. I wanna braid his hair so bad)
Sorry this is kind of a messy scattered way to lay out my ideas but. thems the thoughts

tomura is nicer than you think he is
people are allowed to write characters however makes them happy, but i wish there were an equal amount of people who paid attention to his canon characterization too. i wish i could find a fic or two that doesn't make him a tsundere (he's not one - though i understand the appeal) or weirdly mean to his friends (he's usually very chill!!)
he let toga hold a knife to his neck. he let spinner grab him by the collar of his shirt and yell in his face. he let dabi tell him he didn't give a shit about his tragic backstory and wasn't gonna stick around to help directly. he let twice tackle him to the ground and all he had to say was "wow, you multiplied yourself! good job!"
Tumblr media
so, heres a long post explaining where canon tomura is much different from fanon tomura - mostly in terms of how he treats his team, his general understanding of other people, and his actually very mellow attitude. ft. lots of manga panels as evidence
when twice tells him he can't duplicate the bullets like he wants him to, tomura doesn't lash out or berate him, even though he's visibly disappointed. (and honestly? the fact that tomura is willing to accept that twice won't duplicate himself "for personal reasons" and is never shown pressuring him to or chewing him out over it, is pretty telling in itself.)
tomura actually has pretty good people-senses. he knew toga held a knife to his throat because she wasnt sure she could trust him anymore, and he immediately made himself vulnerable and assured her (and twice) that he was acting in their best interest.
Tumblr media
he knew how to act casual when uraraka caught him with midoriya. he knows how to be polite to people he likes or wants something from. he calls stain "daisenpai" (translated as “sir” below) which, to my understanding, is EXTREMELY respectful and very specifically means tomura is openly admitting hes BELOW stain in terms of experience and ranking. (I'm also pretty sure this means he thinks of being a villain like a job, which is pretty cute)
Tumblr media
also, some other times he reassures his team on-screen,
Tumblr media
the image above has always been so striking to me. twice is probably expecting some scolding and is quick to promise he was being careful (after all, he did get fired over a single mistake before), and tomura just... immediately believes him. he doesn't accuse him of lying, he doesnt berate him for being careless or dumb or anything. tomura just believes that he did he his best, and assures him that, yeah, it was probably one of their quirks.
in fact, his actual scolding or other responses when his allies have genuinely struck a nerve with him have always been pretty mellow, too. i dont remember a time hes lashed out at or insulted any of his friends (besides kurogiri, but like, theyre Close) the way i often see represented in fanworks.
Tumblr media
when he kidnaps bakugou- which seems to have partially been done out of a genuine desire to help him, in whatever fucked up way tomura thought was best (you have to keep in mind that tomura genuinely thinks what afo put him through was, like, good)-
Tumblr media
- he immediately starts calling him "bakugou-kun" and trying to reach him in a way he thinks he’ll relate to. he subtly compliments him, tries appealing to what he figures bakugous struggles are, and just generally tries to make him feel understood (which may not necessarily be kind in context, but that sort of manipulation requires you to have some understanding of what other peoples motives, thoughts and feelings are, which is pretty good groundwork for kindness.)
Tumblr media
he's very open about it when he likes someone or is impressed by them (you know, the exact opposite of a tsundere.) whether they're a hero, or a child, or a part of his team; he'll compliment and praise people to their faces, even in front of others. he did this as early as USJ. he also didnt seem to mind the league seeing his blatant adoration and attachment to afo during kamino or the aftermath.
Tumblr media
i know its been debated as to whether tomura actually cares about his teams desires, or if hes just using them as a means to an end, but personally i think he really does care. there have been multiple times where he took his teams wants into consideration even when it didnt immediately benefit him. hell, when the liberation army surrendered and offered their resources to the LoV, tomura's first thought was his friends’ wants.
Tumblr media
also this.
Tumblr media
tomura has calmed down A LOT since the beginning of the series, and even back then i think he was calmer than people give him credit for. and you have to keep in mind that, after all tomura's been through, after everything he's been taught about humanity and the world, after afo practically tried to torture all his empathy and affection for his fellow people out of him, tomura is still understanding and patient and good to his friends. maybe that's the bare minimum for people who were raised in a traditional way, but that's not what happened to tomura, and i think it's very meaningful that he still has those traits despite it all.
and I'd love to see this reflected in more fanworks and meta about him! he's such an incredibly complex and well-made character, so it's disappointing to see how often he gets reduced to some very basic ~evil~ traits that he doesn't even have to begin with.

I FOUND OUT BUNNIES CAN HONK THATS SO CUUUTE!
anyways
lactation duh, cuddles, shiggy is sad 😞
You hear loud footsteps and grumbles as your boyfriend stomps up the stairs, obviously upset. You can't tell if he's sad or angry (he expresses them the same way), but you assume it's a mix of both. Tomura slams open the door and looks at you with teary eyes.
“oh honey,” you say, patting the space on the bed next to you, “did you have a bad day?”
He nods silently, sniffling. You pat the space next to you again since he hasn't sat down yet, but he ignores you. You sigh and walk over to him, taking his hand and pulling him over to the bed. He looks up at you again, lower lip trembling before he starts to cry.
You hold Tomura close to you, stroking his hair and kissing the top of his head.
“it's okay, honey,” you reassure him, “you're okay, mommy's here,”
“I c-can't do anything right,” he chokes out, “I'm so weak, so stupid, so useless, I hate it. I hate myself,”
Your heart breaks for him. he can't see how perfect you think he is, no matter how many times you reassure him.
“dont say that, Tomura,” you say softly, “it’s okay to make mistakes. I think you're perfect. you're my good boy, my pretty boy, my special boy,”
he shakes his head silently.
“yes, you are,” you coo, “you're my good boy Tomura,”
Tomura is a bit calmer now, he has his arms wrapped around your waist, and he's cuddling up to you.
he paws at your shirt before asking, “can I? please, mommy?”
“of course,” you say, letting him pull down your shirt.
His lips wrap around your nipple, and he sucks gently, coaxing the milk out of your breast. You sigh softly, feeling your breasts empty feels so nice. He pulls away only momentarily before switching sides so he can drink more without sucking you dry.
While he's drinking, your hands reach up to play with his ears, and he hums softly, purring. His day seems much better now. mommy always makes everything better.
ugh sorry it was so short 😞

What if Shiggy's gf gifted him a corgi puppy?
Well first off Corgi (along with pomeranians and huskys) are perfect doggos and we all know about Mon Chan. So Shigaraki has a major soft spot for the fluffy barrel with legs. As soon as he sees this adorable ball of fluf he heart jumps in his chest, his eyes widen as the happiest, most pure smile ever overtakes his face.
Tumblr media
He missed his Mon Chan dearly, feeling so much guilt over the death of his pup. Now here is this corgi puppy playfully and clumsily trying to play with a bright yellow tennis ball, succeeding more in falling over than actually getting the ball to move.
Tomura had never told you about what happened to Mon chan so the sheer coincidence amazed him. As he sat on the floor calling this little angel over with calls of 'come here puppy. The little adorable puppy immediately runs to Shigaraki, happily bounding over to him.
Tumblr media
As you watch your boyfriend's sheer joy and happiness you know you made an excellent choice in birthday presents. All worries of him not being a dog person vanished. You must admit you were extremely surprised at his reaction, it was like he was a child full of laughs and joy.
Over the coming months Tomura had spent time teaching the precious fur ball to do tricks, bark on command, shake hands and the cute doggy never left his side. The two were inseparable, the little corgi even slept at the foot of the bed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your villan of a boyfriend even begun drawing and making animations of his dog. His phones gallery was packed with pics of you and of his pet. His whole demeanor seemed to change little by little. He was calmer, and more at peace. One night when the three of you were laying in bed he had told you how utterly happy you two made him, he never thought he'd have anyone to love, then he met you, the best thing to happen to him.

THE END (CORGI BUTT)

Hallucinations
Dabi x Shigaraki One-Shot
Warnings: So ooc, bugs, slight gore if you squint really hard, swearing, rOmAnCe, fEeLs, omg cliché
Shigaraki strolled into the League of Villains’ bar, wiping the blood off his hands with a discarded, musty towel. His gaze swept over those present in the room, hidden by the obstructing hand on his face. Toga was sitting at one end of the bar with Spinner, giggling obnoxiously at his dramatic hero imitations. Twice perched on a barstool at the opposite end of the bar, staring sullenly into the distance while puffing leisurely on a cigarette. Meanwhile, Kurogiri stood behind the counter, polishing glasses in a dutiful, restless manner, while Dabi lounged on an old moth eaten couch. Across from him, Compress made a move on the chessboard the two shared.
All of them eyed Shigaraki as he stepped further into the room, clearing his throat to get their attention. The effect was immediate. Toga and Spinner fell silent, Twice came out of his trance, and Dabi’s posture straightened slightly.
“News, Tomura?” Mr. Compress questioned. Shigaraki’s head turned in his general direction and gave an almost imperceptible nod.
“Different factions of the yakuza are still at war, competing for control now that they’ve removed Overhaul. One of the factions was delivering me a shipment of illegal drugs…I was expecting to use it to create more of those quirk destroying bullets, but it was intercepted by Ryukyu, Selkie and a few U.A. brats,” he reported in a bitter tone. He clearly wasn’t happy about how events had transpired.
“And all that blood on your hands, you slip and fall into Kool-Aid, boss?” Dabi snickered. Shigaraki turned to him and flexed his fingers, the unspoken threat apparent.
“How would you like to find out?” Tomura intoned quietly. Dabi scoffed, unfazed by the hostility.
“Well, you know, if you weren’t an insufferable dick and gave us straight answers…” he shrugged maladroitly. An unsteady and tense silence had fallen over the room, and everyone present was waiting to spring into action, should the need arise. Kurogiri inched closer, recalling the volatility present in the two’s previous encounters. Shigaraki and Dabi were continuing to stare at each other, Tomura’s demeanor calm and collected, Dabi’s wary yet relaxed. As they eyed each other quietly, Dabi realized Shigaraki was balancing all his weight on one leg and holding-no, more like nursing- his right arm. His gloves were absent. Tomura detected his examination and shot Dabi a nasty glare as their eyes met, daring him to say something. Kurogiri observed this interaction and decided it was time to step in, before things went any further.
“Tomura, where did all the blood come from?” he inquired, making sure to keep his tone level and to keep from sounding interrogating so as not to anger Tomura further. Shigaraki tore his gaze away from Dabi, muttering a response.
“One of the yakuza factions at war with the one I employed recognized me. Overhaul followers…one had a paralyzing quirk,” he seethed. It had hurt his pride immensely to have been surprised so easily, pinned so effortlessly, paralyzing quirk or no, and having that scarred idiot examining him only pissed him off worse. Kurogiri’s mist blew slightly, a draft from the open door causing him to dissipate and then reform as he spoke again.
“I see,” he soothed, “why don’t you go lie down, I’ll prepare you some food.”
Tomura nodded, looking rather beaten. He began to shuffle off to his room, Spinner and Twice both averting their gaze out of respect to their boss. Dabi sat thoughtfully on the couch, sweeping a hand through his hair as he rendered Compress checkmate.
~
A few hours later, Dabi was sauntering to his room in the evening, but as he passed Tomura’s room he heard muffled cursing. He turned around and rapped the door. The sounds quieted, and Tomura muttered gruffly for him to enter. Dabi obeyed, leaning against the doorframe.
“You okay in here?” he interrogated, already knowing the answer. Tomura was in bad shape. His food sat untouched, his laptop shut on the desk, no online gaming visible. He was sprawled on his bed, sweatshirt hood up, panting slightly.
“I’m fine,” he snapped, his face obscured by his hair in the dark of the room.
“Cut the bullshit handyman, what’s got you sitting on tacks?” Dabi shot back. Tomura huffed.
“Why the fuck would you care? Get out,” he barked. Dabi scoffed.
“No wonder no one wants to be around you. You’re so kind,” he murmured sarcastically, turning to leave. He was halfway to the door when Tomura spoke again.
“The attack….there were three people. One paralyzed me, another rendering me mute, I’m assuming those were their quirks…”
Dabi raised an eyebrow. “The third?” he questioned.
“The third…didn’t move until the other two started leaving…as they walked away, he threw something at me….I flinched, so I didn’t see what it was but I felt it hit me…like…worms eating into my brain. I didn’t think anything of it, because there were no unusual effects but now I…”
He trailed off, glancing at his food before quickly turning his gaze elsewhere once more. “When I try to eat the food is all…full of maggots, and mold. When I try to patch up my injuries from the encounter, all I see is…blood. So much blood…gushing, squirting, blood. Bugs. Lots of…”
He shuddered. “In the mirror…my nails turn to beetles and crawl away…my eyebrows, spiders…worms for-for lips. My gloves…they’re rats…”
His voice broke slightly, and he stopped speaking. Dabi sighed, observing him quietly. Upon closer inspection, he noticed that Shigaraki was trembling, his knees pulled up to his chest. He was scared. The kind of fear that you know is irrational, but it’s bone-chilling anyway. He knew that fear, he felt it roll through his body, consuming his thoughts every time he heard his father’s footsteps near his bedroom door when he was a small child. Something inside him tugged at his consciousness, telling him to comfort the man in front of him. He gave into it, strolling over to Shigaraki and perching hesitantly next to him on the corner of the bed. He clenched his fist, opening it to reveal a small, flickering blue flame.
“Focus on it,” he suggested quietly, softly nudging Shigaraki with his shoulder. Shigaraki turned his head, hyper fixating on the fire, anxious for his mind to be anywhere but on the events of the day and their effects. After a while, he sighed softly.
“Thank you, Dabi,” he murmured, looking up at the raven-haired male. His shivering had eased, and he felt slightly calmer. Dabi noticed the hand wasn’t on his face, as usual, and was surprised by how red Shigaraki’s eyes were. He’d been crying, for a long while. Dabi nodded.
“Anything for you, boss man,” he replied truthfully. He may act abrasive towards Shigaraki, but there was a fondness for him, somewhere deep inside. Shigaraki had accepted him, however slowly, and had given him a place to stay, a family, somewhere he belonged. Maybe that platonic feeling of respect and devotion had turned into something else…something more serious. Seized by a sudden inexplicable urge, he tucked a small portion of Shigaraki’s hair behind his ear. The smaller male turned to him, a soft vulnerable in his eyes that Dabi had never seen before. It made Shigaraki seem…almost fragile. Dabi slid his thumb over a scar on the man’s cheek, frowning slightly. Two imperfect beings, two scarred, broken creatures, adapted to the circumstances of the cruelty they were subject to…so perfect. Almost poetic, how they were frozen together in anarchy, yet the world kept spinning on its axis around them. And they were safe. Safe from it all, because, all though unspoken, now, they had each other.
He never thought Shigaraki would be so soft, so fragile, so carefully built. He wanted to accept Shigaraki as a part of him, to take him in, take his bones, his flesh, his mind and make the two of them one. To protect him through anything and everything, always. He’d break himself to keep Shigaraki intact, he’d never let the world touch him again. When his thought process broke, he looked up, only to find Shigaraki’s face mere inches from his own. The blue haired male exhaled slightly through his lips and Dabi could feel it on his own. Unconsciously, his tongue darted out to wet them.
“Why are you such an ass to me?” Shigaraki questioned bluntly. The flame in Dabi’s palm flickered once, twice, and blew itself out.
“I’m…afraid of what I feel.” The hand that had been holding the flame came to rest on his upper thigh.
“What do you feel?” Shigaraki asked, a note of gentle yet earnest curiosity in his voice. Dabi licked his lips once more, swallowing heavily. Shigaraki seemed much too close…
“Tell me,” he whispered when Dabi failed to answer. Dabi hesitated, visibly struggling before leaning in to capture Tomura’s lips in a gentle, tender kiss. Shigaraki gasped softly, but didn’t pull away, instead lifting his hand to hold the back of Dabi’s neck, pulling him closer. Finally. Finally, they both thought. Shigaraki’s hand came up to brush the stubble on Dabi’s jaw gently, and they were no longer aware of the passage of time. The stars whirled, the sun rose and set, a million years passed, and it made no difference. Their souls merged, never to be torn apart. They pulled away as one, exhaled as one. Their gazes caught each other, holding each other in a silent embrace, one that said everything…and nothing. They never left that place, that space of eternal bliss, where for once, everything was right.
THIS TOOK SO LONG TO WRITE I’M SO SORRY- If you like this story, drop a request for part two, and if you like my work so far, send a request in for another story!! From the Furthest Tether: Part Five
Everything was dark, the only light coming from a few dull-looking lights that continued to flicker constantly like a dying flame of an old candle.
Water droplets fell from the rotting ceiling of a rundown warehouse where the villain group known as the Paranormal Liberation Front had chosen to lay low while they recovered from their earlier injuries.
Izuku felt like he was floating, watching the villains converse with each other while Tomura Shigaraki heaved over his elite Nomu creations whom were currently being used as nothing more than a makeshift throne for the leader.
One of the Hero Killer's main followers had stood up, attempting to call out Shigaraki's odd behaviour while Izuku's insides twisted with discomfort and fright, while the other villains didn't seem to sense the scent of death in the air, the teen could.
Shigaraki's entire aura was completely different; calmer than usual, yet had a dangerous edge that the teen could feel, even in his current phantom form.
Speaking of which, was this the doing of One for All? Or some kind of link that Izuku had with Shigaraki due to them meeting back in the subconscious of both Quirks?
Thinking about it made his head hurt…
"Now that your concerns have been duly noted there is a more pressing matter that needs to be addressed."
"Which is?" The blunt voice belonging to Dabi piped up from the background. The eldest Todoroki child looking completely unbothered by the many pairs of eyes staring widely at him, the other members of the group fearful of Shigaraki's response to his tone.
Thankfully, All for One who was currently using Shigaraki like a puppet, chose to wave off Dabi's remark as if he were nothing. "Just the little spy in our midst," Shigaraki's crimson orbs suddenly honed in and immediately connected with Izuku's own fearful emeralds.
He can see me?
Was that even possible? Izuku fought back a heavy gulp.
That being said, the teen wouldn't have put it past All for One to have some kind power that allowed him to sense the strange link between the two successors…
Either way, this was bad. Really bad.
"No need to worry, though," he looked in the direction of the teen, his rough voice sounding as if he'd swallowed sandpaper. Pointing a finger from the mangled hand, old burned scar tissue littered across his remaining fingers as they twitched erratically; "Soon everything we've strived for will be in our grasp."
Snap out of it, Ninth!
Izuku gasped loudly, clutching his head and cursing darkly as he gripped the bedsheets of his hospital bed tightly.
Why was this happening to him?
Everything was moving so fast, his brain was completely overwhelmed.
Tears of frustration stung his eyes and he blinked hard, fighting them back with all the energy he could muster as he breathed out sharply. Every time something was going right for him and his friends, there was always something that completely tore that newfound hope to shreds.
It wasn't fair.
Especially when the talk with All Might, once he'd arrived at the hospital, had gone down so well. Aside from Izuku's own worries, he had been quickly pacified by his mentor's comforting and reassuring words.
To Izuku's relief, they had discussed the Eri concern and addressed it straight away, with All Might immediately getting into contact with U.A and his acquaintances from the Police Force. His mentor had also informed the boy that Aizawa had been discharged a day prior and was currently recovering back at U.A, albeit with the Pro undergoing physiotherapy to help get him used to his temporary leg prosthetic.
"There are measures being taken to protect Young Eri so try not to worry yourself," his mentor had explained, offering the boy a faint smile tugged across his thin face. All Might had left after Izuku had gotten a visit from his doctor who'd then informed the pair that the teen would more-than-likely be discharged from the facility a lot sooner than they had thought.
About an hour or so later, his mother had arrived and Izuku finally allowed himself to lean back against the plush pillows to finally relax. However, this was quickly short-lived when his mother announced something that nearly made Izuku choke on his own air;
"Your father called me last night," Inko's voice was soft as she folded Izuku's old nightshirt into a neat little square before placing it in the bag that she had brought with her. "We talked for quite a while."
"With Dad, uh...You did?" Izuku's mouth and brain suddenly felt as if it had been set on autopilot. Was it weird that he felt oddly...numb to that revelation? He hadn't heard from his father in years, surely he should have been happier about hearing this?
Inko nodded, humming delicately, sliding another one of Izuku's shirts into the open bag, "He was concerned, of course. I caught him up with what's been happening, he's…" she paused. "He proposed something that I've been thinking about since last night."
Izuku's heart thudded under his freshly laundered nightclothes. He dreaded what he was about to hear but had to ask nonetheless: "What was it?"
His mother inhaled sharply, nibbling on her bottom lip, "He wants us to come overseas so we can be together as a family. Like before," her hands began to tremble. "There's so much that Hisashi and I need to discuss but right now, Izuku, I feel it would be for the best."
"W-What are you saying?" Izuku felt queasy, was his mother seriously suggesting that he pack up all his things and move abroad? To live with a man that he barely knew?
"Izuku-"
"I can't just leave!" Izuku's voice grew louder. "What about U.A? My friends?" All Might.
Inko's own temper flared and she glowered at her son, gesturing to his bandaged limbs, "Look at yourself, Izuku!"
The younger Midoriya visibly flinched, swallowing the retort back down his throat and averting his guilty gaze away from his mother. His eyes wandered along the lines of thick gauze around his knuckles and he shakily exhaled; unsure what to say next.
Was there anything he could say? He was completely tongue tied.
Thankfully, Inko was the one who broke the awkward silence by running a hand gently through his curls, "I'm sorry, Izuku."
He tried not to wince at those words. It honestly felt like he'd been punched in the gut.
"But I don't know what to do at the moment."
"Mum-"
"Stop," her voice was quiet but firm. Izuku's eyes moved along each part of Inko's face, noticing the blotchy skin from crying, the heavy bags under his mother's eyes and the way her hair just hung limply over her face like a set of old curtains, dreary and aged.
Was there anything he could say to her right now?
Aside from…
I'm sorry.
                                            .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
"Here are your discharge papers, Midoriya-san."
It was as simple as that.
Before he knew it, Inko had been given Izuku's hospital paperwork and had then quickly ushered her son into a cab alongside All Might. After a short and frankly slightly awkward car journey, they had eventually arrived back at U.A High School where they had then escorted Izuku to the dormitory facilities.
To Izuku's relief, his classmates had respected his space and quietly offered greetings to him as he limped towards his dorm room, his adult supervision carrying his luggage for him due to his arms still being heavily bandaged.
His mother hadn't mentioned their earlier talk and Izuku wanted to keep it that way for the time being. She had left after barely speaking and All Might had offered to walk her to the gates, which she begrudgingly accepted. Izuku noted the hardness in her voice when she spoke to the retired hero, a tone that Izuku had rarely heard Inko use in all the years of his life.
He prayed that she didn't give All Might a hard time once they were out of earshot. They had left quite a while ago…
From the other side of his locked door, he heard the distant sound of his classmates calling out loudly to each other, Izuku recognised Kirishima's cheery voice and he felt his lips tug into a small grin.
Maybe he should have gone downstairs and taken part with the others…
Izuku glanced at the red and blue striped clock on his wall and sighed, his chest tight as he shuffled over to his drawers to begin loading his clean clothes back into storage. Although it wasn't the same as his bedroom at his mother's apartment, he was glad to be back in a familiar place…
For how long? Came the unwelcome and unwanted nag in the back of his already-racing mind as he clenched his teeth together. He had no time to worry about the what-ifs right now, what mattered was getting back on his feet and concentrating on his Quirk control.
DANGER!
Izuku blinked, ears buzzing. He could hear laughter in the distance, was One for All reacting to something else? Maybe it had something to do with the connection he was sharing with Shigaraki-
A loud slam against his window completely destroyed his own concentration, his heart jumping in time with his body.
The walls violently quaked and Izuku soon stumbled. He had barely enough time to react as a massive hole seemed to be forcibly ripped through the wall to the outside.
The impact shook off the teen's balance as he fell to the floor, kicking back against the carpet as he shuffled up against the door. A large, scaly hand clamped around the broken pieces of plaster and a familiar face peered in that sent waves of absolute terror up Izuku's spine.
It was another Nomu. Did that mean the League were here? Speaking of that, how could they know that he'd returned or where his dorm room was?!
Izuku moved his hand towards the doorknob of his dormitory door and the creature screamed loudly squeezing itself through the small hole with little resistance. Izuku pressed himself up against the door frame, bandaged arms and legs screeching at him as the Nomu loomed over him. Sharp pieces of broken brick dug into it's thick hide, small trickles of blood forming around it's body as it slammed a heavy palm straight against Izuku's jaw, the movement cutting off any attempt that Izuku had at crying for help.
A crackle filled the air and Izuku's attention was drawn away from the fact that the Nomu currently had him pinned to the door by his head. With a narrowed gaze, the teen's eyes fell upon a tight-fitted collar around the creature's massive neck. Due to the odd crackling noise, Izuku soon noticed the device attached to the thick leather, which looked to be some kind of radio device.
"Excellent work, No. 1977. Remember this one needs to be alive. For now, at least."
Izuku paled, recognising the person talking immediately.
That blend of eerie voices, like an unhinged duet completely out of sync with each other.
He attempted to speak, a choked gasp cut off as the creature tightened it's grip. He knew that voice all too well; the man who planned out multiple attacks on his friends, the one who was involved in the incident in Kamino and most recently, the Jaku attack...
Tomura Shigaraki.

Comfort text ♥ shigaraki opens up to you
⚠️ BNHA MANGA SPOILERS ⚠️
// tw alcohol ment, bar setting, family death \\
The day was no different from any other day in regards to the LOV. a few petty thefts so they didn't have to pay for lunch, mindless chatter between the assorted members left a slight buzz constantly filling the bar, but the only difference in behaviors was shown by shigaraki. It was well known by the rest of the members that some of his days are just worse than others, and they knew not to bother him when those types of things occurred. He was the silent type, and would usually snap at anyone that even tried to get something out of him. So when they see you approach him with looks of worry, they almost all go to stop you before he says something to you he’ll regret. But before that can even open their mouths, you inquire about his condition with a tone of worry tracing you words. They were all left speechless when they didn't hear a scream erupt from him. Instead, in a much softer, calmer voice, asked everyone to get out.
Replaying the request in his head you felt like you could hear him choke on his words just slightly. But as you trailed the rest of the LOV as they exited the bar, shigaraki spoke your name. “Stay.” was all he could muster. So you did just that. There was a sad bit of silence, as you both sat at the bar’s counter. He hadn't spoken to you for several minutes, and after the rest of the LOVs presence was no longer with them, the energy in the room was the only way to truly read how he felt. As your thought finished, shigaraki finally began to speak. Calmly, but with deep sorrow, just all of his thoughts.
Some, more random than others. The beginning of his ramble began with his usual rambling about dabis less-than-pleasant smell, to how toga wouldn't shut up about the boys she watched on tv. But as he lost himself in his words, you caught on to a few darker things that he slipped into his ramblings. Insecurities about his quirk, his deep appreciation for the life the LOV has brought him, and worst of all how much he missed his family. Once that phrase escaped his lips he stopped immediately. Seeming to have come back to his senses after such a ramble. He immediately put back on his defenses, deciding to get up and get a drink from the bar, leaving you in stunned silence, curious on how to respond to such confessions.
As you’re processing everything that he just told you, he shakily gets 2 glasses down from one of the cabinets above and places them in front of where you two were sat. as he turned his back to search for which beverage was to be poured in said glasses, you swiftly got up to approach him. As you got closer to him, you placed a simple hand on his back side. You knew he wasn't one for touching, so no matter how much you wanted to smother him in love, you knew you had to stay within his comfort zone. But, no matter how simple the notion, when you looked through the sliver of his face that wasent covered by his hair, you notice tears streaming down his face.
Out of impulse you automatically direct your attention to his face, and without thinking, cup his face with your hands, and softly jerk his face sideways to meet yours. Once you were able to take up his whole face, you saw it littered with tears. His mouth was twitching in anguish and it was clear to see this was all too much for him to handle. Once you had realized what you’d done you took your hands off of him as quickly as you had put them on him. But once you did that you heard a faint ‘no’ escape him, a no laced with so much sorrow and dejection it was almost as if you could feel what he felt with just one word. But it was enough for you to know his normal rules didn't apply here, he was vulnerable and just needed someone. Still standing behind the bar, you cup his face once again, looking into his longing eyes. You couldn't even begin to think how long it's been since someone truly looked him in the eyes, let alone touch him.
Fighting back your own tears, you promised tomura that he’ll never be left alone again. You promise to him that no matter what, he’ll have a family here with the LOV, and if nothing else with you. That made him break down. His last wall, his last emotional defense was broken as he just fell into your arms and cried. For hours, it seemed like. But throughout it all you held him. You let him know you were there for him for as long as he needed you to be. Stroking his hair to calm him down, after some time he finally let go.
As he whipped away the last of his tears, you rushed to your bag and pulled out a single stuffed dog. Before he could voice his confusion, you explain to him what that dog meant to you. How you had carried it around for a while now, having named it after him to keep yourself collected in rough situations, Knowing he was always with you. As he sat there is shock, beginning to tear up again once more, you offered it to him. To rename it to your name, and for him to keep it. So he always knew you were by his side, no matter where you truly were. As he carefully took the puppy into his arms, he looked at you one more time, and mustered a shaky, but very grateful ‘thank you’.

Okay, get this: a new lov member who’s really awkward and shy. Everyone thinks she’s just a normal gal but it turns out she’s absolutely out of her mind? /sigh/ I don’t even know anymore 😔 rip. I’m so bad at requesting it should be my new party trick. Anyways, I hope you have a good day and I love your writing!!
Ahh thank you! :) I’m not sure if you wanted this to be cute or disturbing so I went with the latter because nothing I’ve posted so far is dark themed (all my stuff is like, fluff haha)! :0 Let’s get some well rounded writing up in here!
New LOV member who’s secretly insane
Warnings: DARK THEMES that include but are not limited to: Blood, dead animals, disturbing images, cannibalism, death, hearing voices, sadism/masochism, violence, mentions of self-harm etc. etc. You get the picture.
^^^Don’t read if you’re sensitive to similar topics. I went ham on this, yall.
Disclaimer: The reader depicted in this is chronically insane and is an extreme case. This is in no way a depiction of a person with a mental disorder. I don’t want to spread any misinformation, most people with mental disorders are lovely people and are not crazy/dangerous in anyway
Under the cut vvv
Tomura Shigaraki:
Look, he wasn’t a fan of the whole awkward-shy act, but hey, you were pretty hot and you had a quirk that the League definitely needed
So he let you in, figuring he’d just need to have that timid attitude of yours whipped out of you
But OH. It didn’t take long for him to realize you were completely bonkers.
Dabi was giving you shit like he did everyone, and all it took was a poor comment on his part for your usually pleasant expression to contort into one of malice and...joy? The way your face darkened and your eyes swirled with an unhinged gleam…
Maybe you’d be more interesting than he initially thought~ plus, seeing you threaten Dabi was definitely some brownie points in Tomura’s book
At times it gets frustrating because you can get out of hand, and he honestly couldn’t even handle the League WITHOUT another crazy added in the mix
But you were powerful and an important addition to the team, so you were stuck with this sorry lot whether you liked it or not
Kurogiri:
He was a little surprised, but pleasantly so, when Tomura recruited you for the League. You were actually...rather normal compared to the rest of the bunch, but he was far from complaining!
You were also modest and well-mannered, and Kurogiri especially admired that. The rest of the League was full of squabbling hotheads, so you were a breath of fresh air!
At the bar, he’d talk a lot with you seeing as you were one of the calmer villains, but overtime he noticed that certain comments would raise a few red flags.
One day you bring in the mangled body of a cat and...oh.
The way you casually set it on the bar counter and grin at Kurogiri happily while you ask for a kiddy cocktail… all the while your hands were still soaked in its blood.
Tomura’s decision made a bit more sense now. You were completely off your rocker! He treats you pretty much the same as before, but is usually the one who has to reel you in when you start to show your crazy too much.
Dabi:
When you first joined the League, he couldn’t believe it. Was Tomura fucking stupid? How could a shy, pretty thing like you possibly fit in with the baddest villain organization?
Needless to say, he was kind of an asshole to you. He’d make rude comments, blatantly say you didn’t belong here, condescendingly give you names like “princess”
For the most part you would bear it all with a grin, and though he didn’t exactly understand you reaction, he would scoff and roll his eyes. “Weirdo”
One day he happens to strike a particularly strong chord with you, and suddenly you’ve shoved him against a wall, hands wrapped around his throat
You choking him wasn’t what off put him. It was the demented look in your eyes and the lopsided grin overwhelming your face. You were practically begging him to insult you again.
“It feels soooo good when you call me names!” you giggle, fingers squeezing into his neck. “Maybe you can choke me next?!” Your eyes were excited at the sadistic thought.
He shoves you off rather easily after he gets over his initial surprise, rubbing his neck. “Crazy bitch…”
The fact that he didn’t ignite your crazy ass on the spot means you’d gained his respect, if in the slightest. Clearly you’re a better fit to be a villain than he thought. He still picks on you, but significantly less.
Himiko Toga:
She was excited to have another girl! She flocked straight to you and grabbed your sleeve right away!
“Aiiya! You’re so cute, look at you!” She poked your cheeks and you got a little flustered under the attention. She thinks you’re so shy and adorable!!!!
She makes it her mission to become your bestest best friend! But she can’t help but get a little excited from time to time.
“(Y/n), you’re too cute! Please, can I cut you up!? Just a few slices here and there! You’d look ten times cuter if I do!” And she’s grinning.
Her grin completely falters, however, when you agree. “W-What?” she didn’t expect it at all! She was used to getting brushed off.
But no...the crazed look in your eye at the mention of spilled blood… you were practically dripping with insanity.
Kurogiri stopped the both of you before you both had the chance to completely slice each other up, but from that moment on your were pretty much conjoined at the hip.
Crazy cuties flock together
Spinner:
When a cute, shy thing like yourself joined the League, he was a total flustered mess! You were absolutely adorable!
Like Kurogiri, you were a breath of fresh air, a nice change of pace to the usually colorful bunch that he got to hang around with.
You were nice to him, and he always gets embarrassed when you compliment him! So naturally he assumes that you’re the sweetheart of the bunch!
You’re talking, and finally Spinner outright asks you, “How’d you even get roped into villainy?” because it blows his mind such a normie like you are in the League
And, very casually and chipper, you describe how you murdered your family in cold blood. They hadn’t even done anything to upset you. You just wanted to.
“O-Oh.” He honestly didn’t know what to say...but he didn’t really get a chance to speak as you suddenly pull a necklace out from under your shirt. It was a strange looking thing, a shriveled black lump on a string.
“Look! I even carry a piece of them around with me!” His eyes widen, and you just giggle and tuck the petrified piece of corpse jewelry back into your shirt.
Twice:
Needless to say, Twice had some mixed feelings about you when you first joined the League.
“What the hell is such a prude bitch doing in the League?” “Aww how cute! Finally a fresh face! Happy to meet you!”
He’s honestly probably the first to realize you’re absolutely batshit because he’s always half doubting your sincerity
Let’s just say he isn’t surprised when you’re on a mission and you start gnawing and eating at a fresh corpse on the ground
“Wow, that’s fucking bad ass” “Ew!!! That’s disgusting, what the fuck!”
And hearing his voices go back and forth, you just look up, blood smeared across your face, a strange gleam in your eye and you grin!
“Hahaha! Twice, you always say the funniest things!!!”
After the mission he tries to avoid you as much as he can. Though your quirk and tenacity was something the League definitely benefited from, that didn’t mean he wanted to be anywhere near you after the shit he saw that night
You were fucking wild
Mr. Compress
After Shigaraki let you into the League, he was pretty interested in you. You seemed pretty average and you acted like a timid civilian, so what kind of quirk did you have? Surely something must have caught Tomura’s eye that he wasn’t seeing.
So he, being the man of charisma and mystery that he was, made it his secret motive to find out what you were hiding.
He took it upon himself to show you around the hideout as your own personal guide. Not that you were complaining! Compress is so flashy and entertaining that you were actually enjoying your time with him.
Not gonna lie, he was acting a little too charming and over-confident with you, trying to get you to slip up and spill a secret
And spill you did! Though not intentionally. It sort of all happened at once. Compress was moving ahead of you and all of a sudden he was thrown back against the wall.
He hits it with a grunt and slides down to the floor, looking up at you with a stunned expression. What the fuck did he do to merit that?!
But you weren’t even looking at him. No, you were whispering under your breath, staring at the ceiling and grinning like a madman.
“You’re right! That was fun!” you spoke to the empty room, pausing a moment before letting out a loud, crazy laugh. “You always were good at jokes!”
Slowly he rose and moved away from the room where you stood conversing with your imaginary voices.
Telekinesis was a pretty powerful quirk! Though it seemed your perks also came with some hefty flaws… very interesting!
Magne:
Magne was so excited to have another girl in the League! She loved Toga, of course, but at times Magne found her to be a bit...much
So when you first arrived, seemingly normal, she was so ecstatic! She wanted to do all sorts of girl things with you that she couldn’t really do often in the boy-dominated League
You were so cute and timid, she couldn’t help but want to have a girl’s sleepover with you and Toga!
Your true colors started to show, however, during the middle of a truth or dare game. Magne had asked you what your favorite crime to commit was, expecting something calmer like robbery or identity theft
Color her surprised when your face contorts into the craziest, most terrifying look as you narrate a violent murder and proceed to grab a pillow and rip it to shreds with your hands as a ‘demonstration’.
Cute AND violently psycho. She can roll with that.

thinking about...me + the ua class going to the mall or smthing and some villain is doing some wack shit or something...we have our provisional licenses so we engage but her quirk is like, being able to broadcast people’s greatest fears or some shit and we mostly get civilians out of the way while we wait for the pros, but i get hit with her quirk and suddenly everyone in the room can see what’s inside my head and ,,,,
tw: death/trauma/blood/fire (not really graphic but)
ismkkdsm idk man just,,, my boys just seeing how afraid i am of loosing them and how much it scares me that they’ll leave me,,,mr. aizawa seeing a projected form of himself call me a failure,,, katsuki + kiri watching a dream-like image of them laughing at my crying form as they ask me why i would ever think we would love you? you’re useless, charlie. you can’t even keep your feelings straight, fucking sl*t, what? you think we would want to date a wh*re like you?
todoroki seeing himself as the #1 hero, but it’s wrong because he looks like his father and i’m there but i look so hollow and he knows it’s because i’m afraid that trying to become the #1 will strip him of his humanity.
izuku watching his dream-form fall to the ground, all for one killing him in hundred of different ways and i’m screaming, so so much because i don’t - i can’t handle the pain of loosing him and iida watches me face him in battle and i have to beat him, because he’s killed people, but i love him like a brother and
there are other fears, too, ones that feature all too familiar faces: there’s two of dabi, one of him laughing, his flames flickering as he burns a city to the ground, and another of me clutching his lifeless body, he’s just a kid.
red feathers whip around another version of me, as i beg hawks, please, just listen, we can get you safe, i promise- and he’s there again, but his wings are in the grip of a nameless foe, who pulls and pulls and hawks is screaming.
and eri disappears into purple mist, and there’s, mirio, bleeding and there’s so much blood, and hes holding tamaki’s hand but his eyes are so dim and tamaki is sobbing, but he’s dying now too- and there are bodies everywhere, and it’s all myfaultmyfault you did this charlie it’s your fault
- and the pros arrive, and all they see is me, and i’m just sobbing on the floor and everyone else looks so horrified, and theres really nothing they can do -
fatgum picks me up and all i can do is sob because i can see him and hes dead, they all are.
momo tries to explain what happened to the police, but she can barely get it out through her sobbing - because she’s just seen herself die a thousand ways and she can still hear my screams of her name, and she’ll wake up for nights after words in a cold sweat, my begging for her to keep her eyes open, come on momo stay with me ringing in her ears -
midorya is still making sure the civilians are okay, but his face is wet with tears and he tries to smile, but it hurts.
they won’t let anyone into my hospital room because the quirk hasn’t worn off yet and there’s nothing they can do. i lay there for three days, seeing my friends die over and over and over again, and i loose my voice after the first day but the doctors and nurse will never be able to forget the screams, the begging for it to stop.
i wake up from forced sleep, and the quirk is gone, yes, but. can still see them.
bakugou is the first to see me, and he can’t even get out a word before he’s clutching me to his chest, so, so tight and he calls me a dumbass but i know what he means is that he loves me and, he won’t let me go until kiri bursts into the room, panting because the elevator was full so i took the stairs, but we’re on the ninth floor. and then kiri is telling me he loves me and he’s crying and then katsuki is crying, but shut up shitty hair, no i’m not, and i love them so much, and i can barely get a word out but they know, they know. todoroki comes later, and he’s calmer, but he sits in the hospital bed and holds my hands and he kisses me and he brought me soba, because i must be hungry, and i laugh, golden dream-dust falling from my hair, the dust is produced by my quirk but it still makes todoroki sneeze as it gets on his face and i laugh at his face and i’m happy, because i love them, but i also hate soba so i just force him to eat mine and he protests, but hospital food is actually pretty good so i just eat my jello and yeah, we’re broken, but it’s okay because we’re broken together
the dekusquad shows up on my last day in the hospital, and deku apologizes so much because he’s late but it’s okay because they’re there and iida is awkward, and it’s okay because tsu makes me laugh about how she’s glad mineta wasnt hanging out with us that day, otherwise he’d be complaining about how he didn’t feature in my fears and, yeah, that is funny.
i wake up at home to a rapping on the window, red wigs blocking out the light from the streets, and somebody recorded the whole thing i guess and the police confiscated it, but the commission thought it would be good to prepare hawks if he had to encounter this villain, and he’s crying now because he’s so sorry, kid, i wish i could’ve been there, could’ve protected you, you shouldn’t have to see that, and i’m just hugging him because yeah, i have an inkling of his involvement with the lov but i still love him and i just want him to be safe, and he’s crying in his dumb way and i fall asleep a few hours later, his wings covering me as he hums in a way that reminds me of a songbird.
i go back to school, and mirio and tamaki stop me before class and they hug me and they don’t know exactly what happened but they can see the way i tremble when i walk, something usually well hidden, and mirio is smiling and tamaki is so red when i tell them i love them but i do.
the room is silent when i get into class - the people who weren’t there already know what happened, and i sit at my desk - up front, in the middle, because that’s the only row with five desks - and i try to smile and everyone is quiet at first but denki comes over and he wraps his arms around me, and he was there, but he and jirou were off in a different store and he’s sorry that they weren’t there to help, but it’s okay i tell him, it’s okay, and then the whole class is in tears, and if mr. aizawa doesn’t quiet us down when class starts, instead waiting for everyone to settle down on their own, then nobody says anything. he pulls me aside before english, which is fine because i really should be taking japanese classes instead, and his gruff voice seems softer, and yeah, he can be tough but you’re a good kid charlie, and you are not, and will never be a failure. what ever you do with your life, i will always be proud of you and i’m crying a little bit and he hugs me and yeah, you know what, maybe a family can just be an exhausted dad and his twenty one dumb kids, and i’ve never felt more at home and if i start to call him dad on accident, and he doesn’t correct me, then that’s nobody’s business but mine, and i’ve got bigger things to deal with.
it’s night when dabi shows up, i’m at the pharmacy refilling my prescription and he pulls me aside as i’m coming out, his hands surprisingly gentle as we walk a few blocks away, and i’m not afraid - not of him. and he doesn’t say much but the league found the villian and yeah, we’re supposed to be enemies but if tomura let toga have a bit too much time with her, then maybe he was just feeling generous. and it’s dumb, yeah, because we’ll have to fight eventually, and no one is going to pull their punches, but no body would think that dustyhands_8 was anything but my online friend, and so what if we play minecraft together? it’s not like we put our beds together or anything.
just,,,i love my dumb chaotic family

Non manga reader here but out of curiosity do you think shigaraki would want all for one’s approval for whoever his s/o is?
I think that in order to answer this, we need to understand the evolution of Tomura’s character with respect to AfO. Prior to the raid, AfO seemed to have been a backseat guide to Tomura, communicating through a screen and offering advice when the situation called for it. And yet, we always got the sense that his power and influence was immense. AfO didn’t need to be present to exert his will, and that speaks volumes. Tomura clearly held his mentor in very high regard, and even though he was allowed to forge a path for himself in whatever way he saw appropriate, AfO never hesitated to steer his student towards an end goal that they may or may not share (I still don’t understand why someone like AfO, who wanted to control the world, raised a child who wants to destroy it entirely).
It is also important to note that pre-raid Tomura apparently knew a vague synopsis of his past. Combined with how vulnerable and abandoned he was as a child, this left him ripe for exploitation, which AfO certainly took advantage of. Tomura must have known this, he knows what kind of person AfO is. But this, Tomura still found a mentor and inspiration in him, because honestly what reason did he have to hate AfO? This man took him in when no one else would, gave him a home, and more importantly, gave him the validation he needed to become what he is today. As such, I believe that pre-raid Tomura would hold AfO’s opinion in very high regard with respect to the lover he chooses. I don’t necessarily think he would stop seeing his lover, no matter how many times AfO instructs him to do so, because at the end of the day Tomura is emotionally-driven and takes what he wants. He’s impulsive and needy and fears abandonment, so he might not be able to stay away from the only person he’s gotten so close to. And if his lover wants to be with him just as badly? Tomura won’t let go of them. He’ll even try to convince AfO to reconsider his opinion if he’s truly desperate and in love.
Unfortunately, if AfO deems his lover as a bad influence to Tomura, I can see him orchestrating a manipulative scenario. He won’t outright kill Tomura’s s/o, because that will only make them a martyr and make his student overwhelmed with grief. No, what he would do is far more cruel - he would make his lover betray Tomura. There would be no greater pain than this, to know that they went against him despite saying how much they wanted to be with him. Tomura’s world would crumble down, figuratively and literally as his quirk is unleashed in a destructive maelstrom. In this way, AfO ensures Tomura’s continued dependence on hatred and suffering to gain more power, and without his lover there to distract him, he will zero in on his goals with ardent fervor and despise the world even more than he had.
Once AfO is out of the picture and locked away in Tartarus, we see a dramatic shift in Tomura’s character. He becomes more independent, formulates his plans successfully, and learns how to use people in an effective way. He is calmer, more self-assured, and handles stressful situations far better than he did at the beginning of the series. This steady progression of independence culminates in events that happen in recent manga chapters that I will not spoil, but let’s just say Tomura really gets his shit together and doesn’t need anybody anymore. That probably extends to AfO as well - I’m sure he still values his mentor and appreciates all that he’s done for him, but he probably doesn’t need AfO. His successes are his own, and he earned them with the help of the team that he cultivated loyalty and respect with. So post-raid Tomura is a whole new ballpark. I think he would not care about AfO’s opinion on his lover anymore. There may be some moments where Tomura stops to ponder on AfO’s advice, but they aren’t gospel to him, more like an opinion just like anyone else’s that may or may not influence his actions.
In conclusion, don’t betray Tomura and you have his heart. AfO is a crusty fossil and Tomura just wants to get laid. The end.

Eri, Awry
"She's a comrade," Shigaraki says, and his words are sharp and final. "She's part of my team."
AU. Eri is taken in by the League of Villains. Collection of scenes.
-
I had to write this AU. I just had to. Also! Shigaraki would’ve taken Eri in, trust me, I’m certain. So have budding Villain Eri!
*
Scene One: Brave
*
The new place is much too familiar.
Eri hides herself underneath Mister’s long coat, bumping into him. There's only a grunt and a warning nudge, but he doesn't do anything else, so Eri knows she's okay. She latches tightly onto his leg, and as much as she wants to hide her face, she doesn't. She's going to be brave. So she peeks out with one eye, and watches.
Spinner steps in front of Mister and her. He looks back at them, at her just for a second, before looking forward again. Shigaraki stands in front, the leader that he is. All his attention is on someone far, far away. ‘Doctor’, Shigaraki called the far away man, and Eri doesn’t like how Doctor shouts like a crazy person, or how he’s speaking so mean towards Shigaraki. She doesn’t like his place that they are in, dim except for the glowing tanks containing monsters, every one of them. Most of all, she doesn’t like it, not at all, when Doctor stops speaking, shifting in his chair as if trying to look at something.
Trying to look at her.
“What’s this now,” says Doctor. “What have you picked up, Shigaraki?”
Without looking back, Shigaraki replies: “She was the kid at the center of Overhaul’s operation.”
“Ho ho! The one he was using for his bullets?” At this, Eri flinches, and starts trembling. Twice moves closer to her and Mister.
Shigaraki asks, “You knew about that?” and Doctor says, “I know everything.”
That’s a lie, Eri thinks. He can’t know she likes milk tea, because she only just discovered that herself recently. He can’t know her favorite color, which changed to yellow last week. Yellow like Himiko’s hair that she had let down and then taught Eri how to braid.
And above all, he doesn’t know that Eri will not hesitate to scream and thrash now, to scratch and kick, so the League can hear her and find her and save her. They taught her that.
When Doctor asks to see her, she is ready to do so. Everyone is quiet, everyone is glancing back and forth at her, at Shigaraki, at Doctor. Even Dabi, who is never around, the League member she knows least, has appeared next to Mister.
Doctor laughs. “Just a look, just have her step out. I won’t do anything. As a physician, I work with children all the time, you know.”
Besides her, someone mutters. “Whatever hospital he works at should be shut down for being shit at background checks.” Eri thinks it’s Dabi.
Shigaraki looks back for the first time since they’ve arrived here. He stares at her for a few seconds, and she stares back, and then he waves a hand. “Eri.”
There is a lot of loud whispering, with Spinner and Twice saying to Shigaraki that he shouldn’t, with Mister trying to pry her off his leg, with Himiko leaning down to tell her it’ll be okay, Tomura knows what he’s doing. Before she knows it, she’s standing next to Shigaraki, shaking.
She won’t cry, she won’t cry.
“What a coincidence,” Doctor says. She can’t see him because he’s a dark shape against the light, even though he can see her. It’s unfair. “She’s just like you, Shigaraki Tomura. She has the mutation for a rare variant quirk too.”
Eri doesn’t understand what those words mean, but it’s true that she and Shigaraki both have white hair and red eyes. When she saw him for the first time without the hand on his face, she was so surprised. She had never met someone who looked like her, and knowing she wasn’t the only one who was strange like that made her feel calmer.
Shigaraki stays silent. He is as still as a statue. Eri looks up. His face is even blanker than usual.
Then Doctor says: “A gang of criminal trash is no place for a young girl. Leave her with me, Shigaraki. I can take care of her.”
A few shouts, and talking, popping up behind them. Immediately she goes to hug Shigaraki’s legs, as hard as she can. Eri has never touched Shigaraki before, not even a poke - he doesn’t seem like the type of person that would allow that. Right now, though, she doesn’t care. She doesn’t like Doctor, she doesn’t want to live with him, she won’t go, she won’t go, she won’t--
“No.”
Loud and clear. That’s Shigaraki’s voice. Eri hugs his legs even tighter.
“No?” Doctor sounds surprised. More importantly, he doesn’t sound angry.
"She's a comrade," Shigaraki says, and his words are sharp and final. "She's part of my team."
“So you’ll bring her into the battlefield? You’ll risk her life as you go terrorizing the country?”
“She’s been a member of my League for a month now.” Shigaraki shifts, but he doesn’t try to kick her away. Eri remains where she is. “Eri has her uses.”
“Ho ho ho!” Doctor laughs again. “Well, it’s her death.”
That’s a thing she doesn’t really understand - death. From what she’s told, it sounds like she’s died again and again. It sounds like her everyday life living with Overhaul. But she’s come back from death, every time. She’s left it. She’s here now, isn’t she? Eri won’t die, not anymore. Not with the League here with her.
Shigaraki moves, and Eri lets go this time. Someone picks her up - green hands, it’s Spinner - and passes her to Twice, who walks over to a giant cable on the ground and sits her on it. He says, “Good job, Eri,” giving her a thumbs up. “Now keep quiet, you little brat,” his other voice says, and then he turns back to listen to Shigaraki and Doctor talk.
Around her, monsters float in tanks, bubbles swirling around them. It’s chilly here, and her seat is too hard. But Doctor is far away again. And Twice is in front of her, and so is Mister, and Himiko and Spinner and Dabi. And Shigaraki, ahead of everyone, the leader that he is, the leader of the League of Villains-- he said Eri is a member now. He said Eri is part of the team. He called her a comrade.
This place is still too familiar, and she still doesn’t like Doctor, and she still hopes they will leave as soon as possible...
But Eri is brave. She isn’t scared anymore.

“What’s your Deepest Thought- Part 4/???
Tumblr media
"Love? you Dabi the asshole?" Dabi glares at Y/N "It's not love! but it is a strong feeling ok!. The two villains stare at one another their full attention is only on each other "What about you? do you feel anything?. You think about what he's talking and maybe you do feel these feelings but it's such a new feel neither me nor him have felt before so maybe we're just confused. "Hey, Doll we made it back" Dabi lets you down. "I hope we didn't keep everyone waiting" but before you walk in Dabi stops you and pulls you in close as he presses his forehead on yours, then he covers your eyes blocking out everyone's voices and thoughts but his. "Just stick with me and, you'll be fine ok, Y/N". Hearing him say your name makes you strangely happy and gitty until Twice opens the door, "YOU BROUGHT HIM BACK THANK YOU SO MUCH! tears once again escaping his mask then Twice crosses his arms and turns his head away from them "I didn't miss you". Dabi puts his hand on Twice shoulder "Told you I'd back copy machine" Twice grabs Dabi hugging him while you being squished by both of them. "Twice get off", "BUT DABIIIIII". Toga pops her head out of the door, "Ooooohhh a group hug! let me join!" "Sure there's room babe!" Toga joins in on the hugs, "Hey Tomura you wanna join in on this group hug!" Tomura glare at the group as he walks up to them while all of the league members get excited seeing he's finally joining the fun. Shigaraki takes off the hand that on his face and places it on your head "It isn't much but here". Y/N smiles as she's being surrounded by people that love her. Toga pulls Y/N away from the group, "Hey I have a great idea how about we go to the mall tomorrow!" Dabi rolls his eyes as he slides out of Twice grasps "The mall why do you wanna go to the mall?" Toga shakes Y/N "Because we finally have a girl my age here and I wanna have fun! Y/N, me and big sis call have a girl's day!" "If that's the case shouldn't we all go, don't you need a new video game Tomura? I've seen you beat that Mario shit 20 times". "It's not Mario you brunt pile of garbage! But...your right that game was getting too easy", Toga beams "Then it's decided we have a date Y/N~"  you laugh nervously " A date? Woah my first date is with so many people" Dabi rubs your head "Don't worry of course I'll make sure this Doll has a nice playdate".   -The next day has arrived and you and the league are out and about in the Mall- "Aren't you excited Y/N!", Dabi covers Toga's mouth "Try not to be too loud remember what role your suppose to play" Toga puffs out her cheeks "No fair I was supposed to be my date", "Shut up you'll get another one next time we can't just be walking around with our hoodies on we would look suspicious so we needed you to disguise yourself as an employee". Y/N looks at Twice as he looks down sad with a paper bag on his head, "Y/N I MISS MY MASK! Don't you like the new look!?" you pat Twice's back "You'll be fine just try to be happy...hey don't forget your on a date with Toga". Twice swiftly grabs a pink marker out of his pocket and draws little blushing lines on the paper bag were his cheeks should be, "I can't believe your right!  I AM ON A DATE WITH BABE! Thanks for cheering me up! I should do the same, how are your head voices loser!" "My quirk? yeah, I still hear people in the mall but it seems calmer that chaotic like how it is normal but I'm more concerned about where did you get the marker from...? and hey Dabi why did we leave Spinner?" "He can't come with us he'd be sticking out like a like sore thumb plus I don't wanna babysit  5 kids" All of the members stare at Dabi screaming "HEY! IM NOT A KID!" he rolls his eyes at them "Thanks for proving my point" Dabi grabs Y/N hand " Come on Doll" "W-wait where are we going?" "Last time I checked this was a date right so I gotta at least take you to buy something" Y/N turns back at the others, "And what about the others?". Twice holds a thumps up "WE'LL BE FINE Y/N, I don't think we are gonna be ok...HEY WHERE"S TOMURA!", " I guess he left ahead of time so it's just you and me Twice". Toga and Twice go off to do their own thing while Dabi drags Y/N around the mall looking around. "So what the do girls like anyway do you guys like just shop for panties? You wanna buy some?" Y/N hits Dabi in the back of the head. "NO, YOU JERK!". He stares at you for a second tilting his head in the prosses "I think I know what to get you!". Dabi takes you a store as you look around you see there are a lot of hats and winter gear, "You're buying me a hat?" Dabi faces palms "No you dolt!" he puts these AllMight themes on your head. "I know it's stupid but I thought maybe this could help with the whole hearing voices thing because we ain't getting you a new phone so here". You smile at Dabi while you touch the earmuffs "ARE THESE THE LIMITED EDITION ALL MIGHT EAR MUFFS! These cost a fortune! You're buying me theses?" Dabi smirks "I think you forget what we are Doll, we aren't buying anything. We're stealing them". He puts his arm around Y/N shoulders as the walkout the store but obviously, the security alarms start to beep. "Hey Doll this is where we run" and with that, you and Dabi dart off as the store owner chases you two around. Y/N and Dabi after an hour of running finally catch up with Toga and Twice both of them seem to have gone on a shopping spree. "Hey, guys! why are you too out of breath?" Dabi holds up his hand "We stole some ear muffs and some old man started chasing us...what's with all the stuff what the fuck did you buy?" Toga raises the airs high in the air " LOTS AND LOTS OF KNIFES DUH". You look around for Tomura but he's nowhere near, "Hey where's Tomura?" Twice frantically looks around totally freaking out "HE WAS HERE A SECOND AGO! oh there he is...he's fine". Y/N looks pass Twice to see Tomura with two other people, worried you start walking towards Tomura "Stay here you guys I'll check on Tomura!'. Y/N gets closer to Tomura seeing that he's holding someone by the neck someone with green hair and a girl standing in front of Tomura, "Hey!" Tomura turns around staring at you while the boy he was holding was sweating and his eyes are very teary. Tomura lets go of the boy, he storms off his eyes are filled with rage "The next time we meet...I'll kill you", the green hair boy falls to his knees coughing and gagging. Y/N rushes to the boy checking on him "Are you ok?", "Y-yeah thanks to you if someone else didn't see him that would have been it for me". The green-haired boy stands up holding out his hand to you "Hello my name is Izuku Midoriya", you do the same stretching out you hand giving Izuku a handshake "Hi Izuku my name is Y/N L/N and you don't have to thank me really. "Are you ok Deku?! You're not hurt are you" Izuku's face turns a shade of red simultaneously as he hides his face "I-IM FINE URARAKA! NOTHING TO FEAR I'M A-OK!". You smile at the two but before you can say a word you hear a loud whistle noise from behind you it's Dabi signaling you that it's time to go. "Oh! t-that's my friends I should really get going I hope we see each other again Deku and you too Uraraka!" you quickly run back to league members waving goodbye to the two of them as they do the same. Dabi looks at Tomura "So Boss what's the plan?" Shigaraki grins "We kill them all and leave nothing but dust". Y/N stares at the ground stressing out, why would they need to kill anyone? Will she have to kill someone? but more importantly... you stop walking with the group "Shigaraki...who is...All for one?" Tomura turns around looking at the naive villain "Do you really have to ask? I think you know, right you, from reading my mind". Y/N removes her headphones revealing that they been bleeding intensely. Dabi and Toga quickly rush over to Y/N, "Why didn't you say anything Doll! I thought the earmuffs were helping!" "Dabi my quirk isn't something that can be blocked out with just blocking my ears if it was then we wouldn't have this problem". Toga shakes Y/N "YOU WERE BLEEDING AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?!" "THAT'S WHAT'S BOTHERING YOU!". You stare at Tomura locking eyes "Let me guess my mind was too dark for you?! Too much to bear?! My mind will be the most twisted you'll ever hear! A truly twisted mind of a VILLAN!...Next week those kids are going to a training camp that's where we destroy everything and we kidnap that Bakugou fella and recruit him to the league...that's our plan. Tomura and the league continue to walk but Y/N runs off "I'll meet you guys back at the hideout I have to do something real quick!". Dabi watches you go as he debates if he should go after you but he ends up not doing so. You make your way back to the store that Dabi took your earmuffs from as you see him replacing the glass Dabi melted to take your gift. "Umm excuse me I think this is yours" you hand the man the AllMight earmuffs, "My..my friend saw that I really wanted these and he acted without thinking...It wasn't right to steal it and it damn sure wasn't right having you chase us around I'm sorry". The man bows to you "Even though you did steal...you brought it back what you stole and owned up to it, unlike your friend I'd say you made the right choice just like a hero would!" he places the earmuffs back in your hands "Keep it as a reward and a reminder of this deed you did!". You hold onto the earmuffs "No no no you got it all wrong i-i'm not a hero!", "Sure you are! see it's kids like you that I believe will change society!". Y/N walks out of the store and holds her gift tight to her chest "A hero huh... that sounds...nice...".

on Re-Destro and the source of the “stress” that fuels his quirk
continuing to make my way through @thequietmanno1′s asks! once I’m done with these I’ll work on going through the rest of my inbox.
I received this ask after chapter 238, if I'm not mistaken (so things have changed just a little bit, but that's my bad for not responding to this earlier).
And now I’m kinda feeling bad for Re-Destro, just a little. Like, that flashback doesn’t show much, but it speaks volumes about his character. The smart suit, the focused, determined yet somewhat resigned, unhappy look on his face, the neatly groomed hair, standing beside presumably his mother in front of some faceless shadowy figures telling him he must fulfil their ambitions.
I wonder if, at one point, Re-Destro didn’t want to fulfil his legacy, but wanted to choose his own path in life, yet the pressures and responsibilities heaped upon him by Destro’s old supporters and his family made him bury that desire, that part of himself that resented having to take up the mantle, until it because an unconscious source of strength for him. His power grows from stress, so his unknown resentment at being born a figurehead for a movement he might not have truly agreed with at his core caused him to build up stress from having to become someone he didn’t want to be, and fulfil a grand objective he might not have been confident he could pull off. He outright said that Quirks have a Personality Power aspect to them, so his own Quirk is indicative of the burden his role has placed him in, one he’s been in for such a long time that he’s forgotten who he was before he because Re-Desto.
I’m wondering if all his little breaks of temper and swift and sudden outburst of extreme violence may have been because of this unconscious desire to not be Re-Destro- because if the movement fails, or is mocked and looked down upon, he’s then wasted his life for a cause that he was forced to support, and never had to chance to be someone else- and he was lashing out because of the rage and anger that he’s had to hide behind a mask since he was a kid. Like, he seems to become calmer and focused when he’s raging because he’s finally able to act like he wants to, but is still controlling himself tightly because that’s how he’s been raised, to be a perfect leader even at the worst of times.
Ironically, it seems this hidden resentment may be why he failed to kill Shigaraki, since he outright says his stress is fading away. Maybe he recognised Shigaraki as someone similar to himself (probably some bullshit about understanding someone by crossing blades/fists with them) and actually respected the teenager for having the courage to reject his own legacy and forge his own path according to his own desires. There’s been quite a few evil counterparts between the league and the MLA – Dabi and Genten over their conflicting views about how quirks define them; Skeptic and Twice over their instability born from failure (Twice from failing all the time and feeling worthless for it; Skeptic for refusing to fail and be considered worthless more than once); Trumpet and Spinner over both of them being people who define themselves via their relationship to someone else’s dream. And here we get to see how Shigaraki’s rejection of his own family legacy counters Re-Destro’s acceptance and hidden resentment of his own legacy. Many villains have called Shigaraki a simple, one-dimensional character for just focusing on destroying the things he hates around him. But that same desire is simple, it’s pure, and it doesn’t waver under pressure. Just Like Spinner couldn’t be crushed under Trumpet’s breaking speech because he’s already accepted his poor character and flaws, Shigaraki’s pure desire to destroy makes him more grounded, focused and determined than Re-Destro, who has been struggling with his own flaws and dissatisfactions in private for his whole life.
Going forward, this simplicity may be what allows Shigaraki to rise to the top, much like AFO had the simple desire to become a “King of Evil” and set out to achieve exactly that. This is actually true of every character who’s had an origin chapter - a reminder to themselves of the simple desires that drove them to become who they were, and by bringing that to the forefront of their mind, allows them to redefine themselves and their purpose and continue on their path with renewed purpose. The whole fight is symbolic of that really. Initially Re-Destro seems to have the upper hand in numbers, resources and goals, but as the fight drags on, each one of these gets broken under the league overcoming their personal demons to become stronger for the sake of their simple desires. When Re-Destro first fights Shigaraki, he overwhelms him in speed, power and convictions, crippling his hands and trying to tear him down to prove he’s the better villain between them (which, now I think about it, served no real purpose to Re-Destro, but may have been a way for him to quell the hidden resentments he had about being forced into his role, by striking down an upstart challenger to his destined throne, and reinforcing his wish to prove that the whole MLA wasn’t a mistake he was forced into making). But once Shigaraki recovers his memories and his origin, he just keeps tearing through Re-Destro’s arguments and attacks one by one with his pure desire to destroy. He overcomes the two finger limitation, proving he’s not as limited or weak as Re-Destro thinks, and keeps destroying his ultimate attack, becoming more sane, focused and confident as he does. Re-Destro keeps trying the same move- the apex of his power and probably something he was forced to develop in childhood, so to him it represents the absolute conviction that the MLA is the correct Choice for the Next Villain overlord. Yet Shigaraki keeps striking it down again and again with one simple, pure move every time, no matter how much he ups the power or used more complex mechanisms to enhance it. That’s why his stress starts to fade- because some part of him, that he’s long buried and forgotten, despite it fuelling a great amount of his quirk, recognises and respects Shigaraki as an equal, as someone who had the courage to reject his defined path in life and make his own, consequences and social conventions be dammed.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making you think he didn’t exist, and perhaps the greatest trick AFO pulled was giving Tomura the illusion of choice in Becoming the Symbol of Fear. As far as the boy could see, he alone was responsible for the death of his family, unconsciously on behalf of everyone else, willingly on behalf of his father, and that warped perception of himself let AFO give him the little pushes necessary to complete the transition. If there’s one thing this arc has shown, it’s that villainy is perhaps a lot like gravity- you only need a little push to go from nobody to outcast, with no-one to accept you but the rejects of society.
---
nothing much to add to this, except perhaps another apology for being late in replying. I think it’s clear as of chapter 239 that this analysis is spot on. RD clearly did grow to respect Tomura during their battle, and I think you nailed it down as to exactly why Tomura was able to earn that respect.
I still don’t know if I can honestly say I feel sorry for RD, but I appreciate the way that Horikoshi slowly developed his character over the course of the arc. he never gave us a real, complete backstory for him, but he didn’t really have to; the little tidbits he dropped here and there, along with RD’s own passionate villain monologues about the MLA's philosophy and its history, were more than enough to establish why he is the way that he is. and it led up to the perfect ending, IMO. this was a really great arc.

The Adventures of Villain Uraraka (3)
title: Two Paths
summary: Ochako confronts Shigaraki after his decision to kidnap Bakugou blindsides her. They're a team, aren't they? So why is he keeping things from her? (Part 3 of my crack Traitor Uraraka series)
notes: Yesssss, now others are getting involved in this mess. Originally this was supposed to be more cracky with Uraraka meeting the new League members, but then shit got too serious and it didn't fit. That will be for the next entry in this series. Tomura adores and trusts his little sister, but sometimes his protectiveness comes off the wrong way. It doesn't help that her relationship with him gets more complicated the closer she becomes with the others in her class.
Ochako swept through the warp gate like the perfect storm, rage and danger swirling around her and lightning glowing in her eyes. She couldn’t remember ever being so infuriated in her life. The only reason Tomura didn’t flinch as soon as she appeared was because the rest of his merry band was right outside the door. She latched onto her fury, clinging to it like it was the only thing keeping her from drowning, because if she allowed it to slip for even a moment, she would succumb to the fact that she wasn’t solely furious.
No, what Ochako truly felt was pain. She was hurt, wounded, upset. She felt betrayed by one of the three people in her life that she had always trusted.
“Do you think it’s a good idea to come here right now?” Tomura asked blandly. He was calm. That was good, seeing as how tense things were right now. He was growing as a leader. She wanted him to succeed; she wanted to see him become a better version of himself. She saw the same potential in him as her father did, but he had a habit of completely squandering it over temper tantrums when things didn’t go his way. The whole Stain situation was a good example, but he’d started to move past that.
Unfortunately for the both of them, the last thing Ochako felt was calm. She wanted to explode. Oh how the tables had turned.
“I think you owe me at least a few explanations,” she replied tartly, clenching her fists at her side. She wouldn’t get so angry that she’d activate her quirk on herself, but she was half in mind to slap him and send him floating out the window for being such an ass.
“It was a delicate situation,” Tomura said. “We had to take extra precautions.”
Ochako pointed at her bandaged leg. “One of your new little followers attacked me! I nearly had to take her out!”
Tomura’s eyes flickered to her wound. She watched as a disgruntled look crossed his face. He did not doubt that she could handle herself, especially after she’d decided to learn more about hand-to-hand combat, but he had so far been careful in keeping her mostly out of harm’s way when the League crossed paths with her class. There had been about a dozen ways she could’ve died tonight, all of them directly tied to the fact that she’d been alone and completely blind-sided.
“An unfortunate consequence,” Tomura decided on saying. “Are you alright?”
“Once again, I’m deeply traumatized by the experience, but I’ll persevere in my goals to become a hero,” Ochako replied dryly. Tomura snorted over the comment. There were days when she couldn’t tell if he was amused by the irony of her situation or loathed it entirely. She knew that he didn’t like her being stuck with all the people that he hated the most, especially All Might, but it had been all a part her father’s plan and they didn’t question him. The attack on the U.A. Training Camp had been Tomura’s plan though and she could still question him. “Were you planning on introducing me to the new members or do I have to dodge them every time?”
“I wasn’t sure if they could be trusted completely with your position in U.A.,” Tomura pointed out. “I couldn’t risk one of them outing you in case they weren’t ready or completely devoted to our cause.”
It made sense, which made Ochako even more upset. By keeping the new League members in the dark about her status within the group, it made the attack much more credible. No one would question her when she’d been hurt by one of the villains. It was a smart move, but not the one she was really upset about.
“And?” Ochako asked.
“It would be detrimental at this point if you were caught in the crossfire because they’re unaware,” Tomura said.
Ochako folded her arms across her chest. “Good to know I’m little more than potential collateral damage.” She turned her head away from him, hot tears stinging her eyes. She hated it when she got emotional in front of him. Normally she was the calmer one of the two. He had a habit of flying off the handle when something triggered him, but she was an angry crier and knew it. She felt things differently than him. He said it came from being raised like a normal person. It made her soft.
She heard Tomura sigh and then felt a hand on her shoulder, four fingers carefully touching her. “‘Chako--”
“You lied to me!” Ochako exploded, smacking his hand off her and glaring up at him. “You told me that the attack was just meant to scare and deal a severe blow to U.A.! You didn’t tell me that it was a kidnapping mission!”
Tomura held his rejected hand in the air as he stared down at her. “I couldn’t risk you getting more involved.”
“More involved?” Ochako swept a hand down herself. “How could I not get more involved than this? Between that psychotic girl, half the forest on fire, and the nerve gas I’d say I was pretty damn involved!”
“I know you’re...fond of the boy--”
“Fond?” Ochako’s pitch jumped an octave. “ Fond ?” She pinched the bridge of her nose and took a deep breath in an attempt to reign in her temper. It wasn’t often that she lost it. Tomura used to tease her when they were little by poking the pink spots on her cheeks repeatedly until she blew up, but then he’d just laugh at her about how cute she was when she was angry. “You have no idea what I think about Katsuki Bakugou -- which is the whole point. You didn’t even discuss it with me! If you did, maybe you’d have a better idea of who you’re dealing with.”
Tomura produced a folded up picture from his back pocket and flicked it out to her between two fingers. “I think I know exactly who we’re dealing with.”
She snatched the picture and opened it up. The sight still choked her up. It was a terrible picture: Bakugou muzzled and chained up on the podium like some sort of wild, vicious animal that was days away from being put down if he didn’t stop. She hated it because of what it represented. Hero society didn’t care about heroes; they only cared about appearances. Bakugou would do well to remember that if he wanted to become a hero. Otherwise, well, he’d get mistaken for a villain. She knew all too well that appearances were everything.
No one thought she was capable of being in the League, after all. Bakugou hadn’t even considered her a threat until that meteor shower during their fight. She longed to feel that again -- that rush of allowing herself to be who she truly was instead of this cute, little doll that everyone saw her as. Tomura didn’t think she was fragile and neither did Bakugou.
It didn’t make them anything alike though, treated poorly and looked down upon by society as they were.
“He’s not who you think he is,” Ochako said distantly, staring down at the photo. “You’d know that if you had just asked for my opinion.”
“Oh, and who is he?” Tomura asked.
“He’s not…” Ochako folded the photo up. “He’s not a villain. He’ll fight to the death before he joins you.”
Tomura snorted. “A stupid decision.”
“He’s third in the class,” Ochako replied, “but he’s stubborn to a fault about his pride and goals. He’ll take a fall before he does anything to damage that.” She handed the photo back to him and he took it, sliding it back into his pocket. “He’s a total ass, egotistical, and his temper is worse than yours, but he hates villains more. He thinks they’re weak.”
“We still captured him,” Tomura said.
“At the cost of three villains, two of which were A-ranked,” Ochako pointed out. She shook her head. “He’s not going to take the bait. You don’t understand. He’s still angry about the USJ Incident. There’s no convincing him.”
Tomura regarded her as he idly scratched his neck. It was difficult to not stop him from the compulsive habit, but as long as he wasn’t digging into his skin with his blunt nails, she let it go. It was only when he started to hurt himself that she ever intervened. They all had their little ticks, but she didn’t like it when he drew blood. She would nervously play with the pads on her fingertips until he’d snap at her to stop or hold a hand over hers.
“Do you want to see him?” Tomura finally asked.
Ochako paled a little. “N-no, I don’t think that’d be a good idea.”
“Why not?” Tomura questioned in a curious tone. “He seemed to enjoy your little rumble at the Sports Festival and you said that you two were on better terms now.”
“Because if it doesn’t work, then my cover is blown,” Ochako responded hotly.
Tomura shrugged his shoulders. “Not if we kill him. I mean, I’d rather not -- he’d make an excellent asset -- but your position in U.A. is more important.”
Ochako opened her mouth to protest and then snapped it shut. He was trying to rile her up so that he could gauge her reaction. Her position was important, but it left her vulnerable in his opinion. Maybe he didn’t trust her. After being around all those heroes and heroes-in-training, maybe he thought that she was losing conviction in their goal. If converting Bakugou didn’t work, they would have to resort to violence. If Tomura thought that she was against it in any way, he’d start to wonder where she stood in this war.
She was on the League’s side. She was on her father’s side. She was on Tomura’s side, as she’d been since she was born and he had held her in his arms.
But no, she didn’t want Bakugou to die either. It wasn’t his fault that the heroes had treated him so poorly that even Tomura had felt sympathy for him. She knew what people said about him. She also knew that if anyone should think that Bakugou was villain material, it was Deku, who had been abused by him for years, and yet it was also Deku who had tried to save his life despite both of his arms being shattered. It was that conviction alone that made Ochako believe that Tomura’s plan was faulty. He didn’t know the Class 1-A kids like she did.
They were her...friends.
Pawns, but friends nonetheless. Tsu had put her life on the line to save Ochako. There was a chance that Ochako wouldn’t be here to berate Tomura if not for the other girl, simply because he hadn’t wanted to risk her spot as the U.A. mole. Was she little more than a pawn to Tomura as well? Was that what they all were in the end?
Maybe you have been around those hero wannabees too much, Ochako thought worriedly.
“Seeing me will only enrage him and push him further away from us,” she said out loud.
Tomura nodded. “Best not to push his buttons. I’d like for this to remain civil.”
Ochako snorted. “Fat chance on that. He’s going to try to bite your head off the second he gets a chance.”
A part of her hoped that Tomura was right. Maybe he could convince Bakugou to join them. After all, she hadn’t missed what everyone said about him, especially after their fight. Even pro heroes had considered his behavior to be shameful and more villain-like. His meltdown on the podium had only furthered it. Not to mention his violent and aggressive behavior that isolated him from others and pushed people away. It did remind her of Tomura in a way, although he’d never been as arrogant or loud.
It’d be nice to have someone else on her side. She adored Tomura and Kurogiri had been there for her since joining the League, but she often felt alone in this whole thing. They had the League, but being at U.A. left her even more stranded than before. It took her away from Tomura and her father. Sometimes she went days without hearing from them, which made it easy to fall into the false sense of security and warmth that U.A. and her classmates provided.
She’d struggled with that growing up, but she could always tell herself that the two people raising her worked under her father. Any feelings of warmth that had developed between them rested under a line of lies. It was different at school. Everything was so genuine that it left her reeling. People cared about her. She’d made friends in order to get situated in the school so no one would suspect her. Tsuyu, Iida, Deku…
Ochako forced herself not to react when her mind landed on him. Deku. Why hadn’t her father told her about him? Why had she been raised under him and not Deku? What made them different? Was it their quirks? He was so much more powerful than she was. She had to get stronger. She had to get better. She couldn’t disappoint or let him or Tomura down.
Maybe, if Bakugou joined them, she could grow even faster. He was strong. She could take advantage of that.
“Do you want to meet the others now?” Tomura asked, giving her the option to make her own choice.
Ochako glanced warily at the door. “There’s a lot going on. Maybe it’s best to do it later.” She pulled her phone out of her pocket to check the time. “I promised to meet everyone at the hospital to visit Deku and Momo. It’ll look odd if I’m late or don’t show.”
Tomura held out his hands. “We all have our appearances to keep up.”
She lifted her eyes to look back at him. As usual, he had the hand on his face. He kept it on there more often than not these days, even when only in Kurogiri’s or her company. She thought it belonged to his father -- his biological one -- but she’d never asked, not even the day she’d picked it up and given it to him to cover his face so no one would see how upset he was. The sight didn’t bother her as much as one thought it might. She didn’t need to see his full face to know how he felt. He looked confident and at ease. She hoped, for his sake, that it wasn’t wrong. It would be nice for him to get a win.
“Please be careful,” Ochako told him. “Every hero is on high alert after Bakugou’s kidnapping.”
“Of course,” Tomura replied. He smiled behind the hand on his face, the action pulling on the cracked skin around his lips. She really wished that he’d take better care of himself, but knew better than to comment on it. “U.A. will no doubt be called into question. How can the top hero school produce heroes to protect the public when they can’t even protect themselves?”
“You’ve certainly made people ask questions that haven’t been brought up before.” The first step to taking down hero society meant forming cracks at the foundation. They had known that it would mean attacking right at the start. That meant targeting students. It was a nasty business going after kids, one that she didn’t particularly like, but her father had explained it to her years ago. She had a duty to follow.
The smile fell from Tomura’s face. “There will probably be talks about a traitor amongst you. I’d be wary.”
We may have to keep contact to a minimum for a while,” Ochako said.
“I know.” He didn’t like it, but what he liked didn’t matter.
Ochako turned on her heels. “I’ll keep you updated if anything happens on my side.” She paused and stared at the warp gate that Kurogiri produced for her. On the other side was her shoddy apartment. As Tomura had said, she had appearances to keep up. That wasn’t what she was thinking of though. She couldn’t get the echoes of Deku’s broken scream out of her head. It wasn’t just Bakugou’s reaction that she was worried about. “I’ve got a bad feeling that something is going to happen.”
“Funny how our roles are switched,” Tomura mused. “I’m used to you being the positive one.”
Wasn’t that the truth? Peering back at him, Ochako added one last time, “Don’t do anything else rash,” before she stepped through the gate and appeared in her apartment.
The gate closed behind her, leaving her alone with nothing but her thoughts in the silence. There were pictures hung around the apartment of her with her fake parents and classmates. None of the kids from her class had come over to her place, but she had them up, just in case. It looked like a normal apartment that someone struggling financially could come up with. Sparse decorations, used furniture, cheap food. It didn’t bother her, living like this, even when her father used to spoil her whenever she got to visit him.
She didn’t have any pictures of him, Tomura, or the others that she’d grown up with. To be honest, she wasn’t even sure if any existed of her with them. Cameras didn’t exist in that part of her world. They couldn’t have any evidence of a connection between them. No one could know of that life. There were no ties, no strings. The only thing they had were the burner phones Kurogiri got her and even then their numbers were saved under innocuous contacts. It wasn’t like she could call Tomura up whenever she liked. It wasn’t like she could talk to him whenever she felt alone, down, or scared about her position.
Taking a breath, Ochako held up her hands and looked down at her palms. That was her connection to Tomura. Her hands and the pads on her fingertips where her quirk lied, just as his did. He had taught her how to interact with the world all over again when her quirk had manifested. He’d been the one to give her mittens to sleep in when she’d started to activate her quirk on herself in her sleep, only to wake up puking and floating in the air. He’d destroyed so many things in his sleep before doing the same. She had trusted him to help her.
She had to trust him now, but it was hard. This wasn’t like a game when they were kids. The stakes were real. The consequences could be worse than either of them imagined. If something went wrong, they could die. Like when her father had been near fatally injured by All Might five years ago. He was still strong, but he’d never be what he had been before. Tomura’s time was coming sooner than later. She had to have faith. She had to be strong. And yet…
I hope you know what you’re doing, Ochako thought. She couldn’t help but feel like she was standing on a precipice, but she didn’t know what was at the bottom. She’d always thought she had known and now she wasn’t sure. The only thing she did feel was that she was alone. She had a responsibility, as Tomura did, on two separate paths with the same finish line. All she could hope to do was meet him there, but the longer the race went on, the more she was worried that the distance between them grew and she didn't know what to do to fix it.

Shades of Grey - Dabi - BNHA
BY THE WAY: Manga spoilers. I know most people who read the manga have gotten past that point BUT my friends from discord don’t read the manga. If you’ve not gotten through the Pro-Hero Arc that’s focused on Endeavor in the manga, please be aware that there are some spoilers!!!!
Being an older sibling was hard enough without the added stress of their father being a piece of shit human being, Touya thought to himself fiercely the day that Shouto was removed from their presence.
He’s the perfect son that Endeavor’s been trying his damnedest to create, he thought, sharing a worried look with his other two siblings when they next saw Shouto hesitating above them, looking like he wanted nothing more than to join them again.
Nights were the only time that Shouto ever got to spend time with them now, and even then they had to be careful because if Endeavor ever caught word… well Touya didn’t want to find out what he’d do to them or to Shouto.
Fuyumi stayed a mess when it was just the three of them and him and Natsuo couldn’t distract her soon enough. Natsuo wasn’t much better, his own worry causing him to veer away from his happier demeanor.
Touya hated their dad for causing this. Well, he hated him anyway for what the three of them, and their mom, were put through constantly, but that didn’t matter.
It killed him to know that Shouto was suffering worse than they were now, though. All of their father’s attention being on the youngest, trying to mold him into the perfect hero… Touya wished nothing more that he could save him from such a fate.
He couldn’t, though, and he damn well knew that. And maybe that’s why he’d gotten so careless.
He’d left Fuyumi and Natsuo behind one night to go check on Shouto, trying his best to make sure he was okay, despite knowing their father was far from through with his training that night. He couldn’t help it, the kid looked like he was about to fall out when he’d seen him earlier.
He had never been more glad that Shouto had a split quirk in his life than he was right now.
Endeavor had left them both behind, but the flames that still danced across Touya’s arms and neck just wouldn’t go out on their own. He wasn’t sure who they even belonged to anymore - he knew that his Quirk had activated without his permission in response to his father’s lashing out and back handing him - which, by the way, he could still feel that mark throbbing over the numbness that had set in.
Shouto really shouldn’t be risking himself, Touya thought as the fires went out, but he didn’t care, turning to wrap his youngest brother into a tight hug.
“I’m so sorry, Shouto. You’re going to be fine, okay?”
He wound up carrying the younger back to the room with their siblings before he collapsed and gave a hollow smile, sleep overtaking him before he could explain.
He came back aware sometime in the middle of the night to see the other two still awake with Shouto curled up between them.
“..why’d you do it, Touya?” Natsuo asked, his voice barely above a whisper and sounding so tired that Touya really wished he’d actually fought their father - no kid should sound so tired of their life.
Still, he held his brother’s gaze before looking at his sister, then shrugged. “Because I couldn’t just surrender to not trying. What good are our Quirks if we can’t save the people we love with them?”
Fuyumi stared at him for another long moment before giving a sad smile. “He’s going to hurt you, you know,”
“What’s new?” Touya spat, getting a startled look from both of his siblings and a shuffle from Shouto.
It was silent until he settled back into a peaceful sleep, then Natsuo spoke, his voice disbelieving. “You should have been more careful,”
Touya was silent for a long while before he shrugged, his eyes locked on Shouto. “...can you two keep him as safe as possible?”
There was a beat of silence before both of them agreed and Touya gave a slight nod.
“Then I don’t care what happens to me. Keep Shouto safe.”
It wasn’t two weeks later that he left once his siblings were all asleep. He didn’t want to - god, he wanted to stay and protect them like he’d been doing - but if he stayed any longer he’d die and he knew it.
He couldn’t even take more than a picture of the four of them as he left that would tie him to them. He couldn’t risk someone finding out and it getting back to Endeavor. He’d never survive it if his dad caught him.
He paused in the doorway to look back at his siblings - Natsuo had moved closer to throw an arm across both Fuyumi and Shouto protectively. He wished he could tell them what he was doing, but it’d put them in danger.
Lingering for just a moment longer, he hitched his bag up on his shoulder before turning and leaving.
His first stop was to get hair dye, the signature red he’d inherited from his father covered the first chance he got to do it, then a place to stay and food.
It wasn’t going to be easy, but he didn’t need easy. Sure, he may have left a rich family, but nothing in his life thus far had been easy.
He couldn’t change his name, though. He needed it to stay what it was, even as he fell into a villain’s life - he never left signs that it was him who’d done it, and no one ever seemed bothered enough to learn his name, so it was fine.
The day he met Toga, though, he’d been at a loss - she wanted to know his name, wanted to work with him, this hasn’t happened before.
He had been careful not to let his momentary panic show on his face, though, offering the first name to come to mind. Dabi.
Cremation, just like his Quirk.
He liked it.
And just like that, his old name was shed - despite best attempts from people like Shigaraki Tomura to get it from him - and he felt lighter than he had in years.
“How sad, Todoroki Shouto.”
That was a name that Dabi had never once imagined he’d be saying again, not out loud.
He saw his little brother’s eyes widen as he stepped back towards the warp gate, and had he not been at this as long as he had he would have panicked.
That wasn’t recognition, not quite, but it was close.
How poetic.
Of course, after having met Endeavor on the street, after his conversation with Hawks, after all of that was done and he was alone again, he stared at the ceiling above him with a blank expression, his mind going miles ahead of his own comprehension.
He felt bad for destroying innocent families like he’d been doing, as much as he didn’t want to.
His mind kept flashing to his own family, their expressions the last time he’d been with all of them, peaceful in sleep but worry lines etched into Fuyumi and Natsuo even as they slept.
If someone had done to either of them, or to Shouto, or their mom, what he’d done to other families, he would have incinerated the person immediately.
He hadn’t been brave enough to back then - especially against Endeavor - but now, he’d do it without hesitation.
But… something had been different with Endeavor tonight.
Few casualties. That was a change - he’d been following the hero’s work, noting all the innocent lives he caused harm to with or without meaning to by being careless and temperamental.
Had… had he been wrong?
No. No way in fucking hell, he couldn’t have been wrong about the guy who’d made his childhood, his siblings’ childhoods, a living hell.
Endeavor hadn’t recognized him. He couldn’t be more grateful for that, amusing as it had been then. Had he recognized him, Dabi wasn’t sure he would’ve been in such a calm state now.
Why was it, he wondered, that they were marked so differently to society. Endeavor was hailed a hero despite his personality, despite the pain he caused others, despite everything known or not, yet here he was, a villain when all he’d spent his life doing was trying to right the wrongs and get people like Endeavor away from innocent people.
Sure, he took an approach that heroes weren’t supposed to - murder wasn’t welcome in the heroes’ world, which was such bullshit. But he hadn’t hurt nearly as many people as Endeavor.
It had always been so plain to him before, and now here he was, having to question everything he thought he knew.
He hated it.
Oh well, he thought bitterly, huffing and sitting up. He could deal with this later, when he had a calmer head.
Otherwise, he was sure he’d do something stupid and expose himself  - which, entertaining as it would be to see the damage control after the world found out that one of Endeavor’s kids was a known villain… he couldn’t afford that right now.

MHA Episode 46
FFS guys. Okay, Kirishima and Shoto are definitely going. Because of course they are. Iida looks like he’s about to blow a gasket.
Tsuyu is also trying to be a voice of reason here, and she’s much calmer about it than Iida so that’s... helpful. She’s not wrong though, willfully and repeatedly breaking the rules draws them closer to the line between hero and villain too. It’s... not a great place to tread.
Realistically, I know they’re going to do it because... of course they are. but...
Anyway, before the discussion continues, the doctors come in to talk to Deku, so that’s fun.
Tumblr media
Oh dear. He did waaaay more damage to himself this time than list time. If he’s injured 2-3 more times at full strength... he’ll basically lose both arms. Oh yeah, way worse than usual.
Op. And there’s the question I was expecting from mom here. She doesn’t want him to go back because of how much damage he’s done to himself, and because they keep failing to protect him.
Tumblr media
And the hero crew they’re gearing up for this rescue is... impressive.
And before we get Momo’s answer, Iida interrupts. And being Iida is angry because they’re going to get in trouble. ... Again. Oh. Yikes he just hit Midoriya hard. And after decking him he’s seriously trying to lay on the guilt trip.
Tumblr media
They’re going to attempt covert action, which is their best bet but... none of them really have the quirks for it.
I did not expect Iida to decide to go with them.
I am pleased to hear that Bakugo is standing strong on not supporting Shigaraki.
Does... does Momo really think they will stand down when it gets hard? Momo, that’s unrealistic as heck have you met your classmates?
Tumblr media
Disguises. Well that’s probably for the best given the villains do know who they are and will attack if they see them. Oh god they have personas to go along with it. That’s terrible.
UA is in a bad position right now because civilians don’t feel like enough is being done. And then we cut back to Tomura here who seems to find all this almost amusing.
Releasing Bakugo is a thing that Tomura just did. And predictably Bakugo attempted to blow his face in. ... Also, he just revealed that he, too, wants to be like all might to Shigaraki who will probably growl here in a minute about how everything is all might’s fault.
Ooooor actually the episode ends. Still.
